The entrance lead to a complicated labyrinth which brought the humans to an unknown structure deep down at the end of the labyrinth. Within the structure scientists discovered an unknown device, as they approached closer towards it, the structure mysteriously activated. This lead to a crystal which contains the Akashic Records. Within the Akashic Records details were an era in the past where humans were able to construct magical formations that bended the laws of nature to their will. The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation. Japan being the first humans to reach the Akashic Records, they excelled in magic against other countries. However, there were 6 different fields of magic. Summoning; calls beings from another world. Spirit; forming a contract with spirits. Elemental; using magical power to create natural phenomenon. Support; using magic to enhance human abilities and accelerate the bodys natural recovery. Magitech; the combination of magic with modern tech. Alchemy; the transmutation of matter, and the compounding of potions from ingredients found in the labyrinth. When children reaches the age of 16 a stigmata will appear on the hand showing the childs magical affinity. Chapter 1 - Akisada Hiroshi (明定 ひろし) [Hiroshi... Hiroshi.. Hiroshi...] Hiroshi! Hiroshi!! Hiroshi took his bracelet out of the personalized parcel sent by the Edelweiss Academys Magitech Department that he kept extremely carefully as he treasured his bracelet that would follow him for the rest of his high school days. The bracelet known as Arca functioned both as an identification tool in the school and also functions as a mobile dresser. Clothes worn will be saved as magical formations inside the bracelet allowing one to switch apparel on the spot. School Uniforms have already been automatically loaded onto the bracelet, while further clothes and equipment can also be saved inside at a later date. The bracelet is also one of Edelweisss Magitech Departments prided invention. After switching to his School Uniform which was a black blazer with the hem splitting in the center extending down to knee level, a white button on shirt inside and his representative stigmata embroidered on the chest portion of the blazer, Hiroshi went down the stairs towards the living room. As if it was cutting apart the haze, the Skylight train released a vibrant blue light that illuminated the surroundings as it soared through the air. The train was experimental transport developed by using Alchemy and MagiTech and could travel at 250km/h and stop smoothly and silently.The train was made using a magic metal named mithril which was created using alchemy. The metal was lighter and tougher than steel and the best aspect of it is that mithril conducts magical power very well allowing better magical power conversion efficiency compared to normal metals, dramatically reducing the resources used to operate it. However, since mithril was only discovered recently, the technique to create them is not refined, causing them to be incredibly expensive to produce. Thus, only the Skylight train was installed in the Tokyo region of Japan where Japans most important Magic Institute, Edelweiss Academy is located at. --The train arrived at the station and Hiroshi alighted towards the train platform. The morning light pierced through the spring mist as it dissipates, revealing the academy which Hiroshi has always dreamed of attending. The academy was situated on a manmade island located 20km out to sea from Koto. The academy ground consisted of the main building called the citadel which houses the 6 different magic departments each having their own training grounds and required facilities. In the center of the building contains the Underground Colosseum which holds different events over the semester, and where students duel each other. On the ground level there is the Auditorium, followed by the Cafeteria on the second floor and the staff offices on the third. The fourth floor consists of the Special Division classroom, training ground and facilities which satisfies the training needs for all 6 affinities of magic. Lastly on the final floor of the academy consists of the HeadMasters room along with the Student Councils room. As Hiroshi admired the school grounds he walked towards the stone gate engraved with runes which produces a barrier preventing access to unauthorized personnel. Hiroshi walked through the fountain plaza and into the MagiTech Departments building. At the entrance of the MagiTech Department houses a shopping street where students from the Alchemy and MagiTech Department can apply to set up a store to sell their products that they made. Most of the stores were still closed as the school day has not started yet and only freshman who came early for the opening ceremony were present. At the end of the long row of stores was doors which lead to an atrium where the school portion of the academy starts. Inside the atrium there were already cliques formed within the freshman students, some containing students from only 1 department while others were made of multiple departments. When Hiroshi walked into the atrium, silence quickly enveloped the area as the students look towards his direction. Some looked his way with curious glances, some looked at him with respect but immediately looked away as soon as their eyes met. However, there were some particular groups who directed looks filled with scorn and hatred towards him. Feeling such gazes he walked towards a corner of the atrium and leaned his back against the wall. His eyes scanned through the groups of students, where he found a girl staring at him intently. As soon as their gazes met, the girl turned around flustered, and proceeded quickly towards the atriums exit in an awkward manner where she looked at him once more. *Kya* Feeling startled as she noticed his stare she immediately disappeared through the atriums doors. .... Time went by as Hiroshi and Akira started talking and the majority of freshmen students were beginning to enter the atrium in preparation for the opening ceremony. When Hiroshi was about to enter the auditorium through the door where students were entering from, he noticed Akira heading to another direction. Akira where are you going, isnt the entrance here? Only our Arca is authorised to enter and reveal the elevator and even if our Arca is stolen it is registered to the users Magic Waveform so it would not work for others. There are such entrances and elevators placed around the school so we can enter our exclusive area within the school compounds. How do you even know so much about this? Chapter 3: The Asentas (Year 1) Upon entering the Elevator, Akira pushed the button which says Auditorium Gallery and the elevator starts moving. The entrances usually lead to an elevator which has access to our Department floor which is not reachable with the normal elevators. Other entrances may lead to rooms for our exclusive use within other facilities and such. I see, well I better read that letter or else i will get lost at this rate. *Ding* The elevators doors opened upon reaching its destination and the view of a huge room unfolded in front of them.The room was lined with marble pillars and flooring, the majority of the floor was also covered with a red carpet giving the room an elegant feeling to it. To the left of the elevator there was a small bar with drinks and food lined-up with bar-stools for the seating. Further down the room at the endwere what appeared to be restrooms for males and females respectively. To the right there were windows overlooking the auditorium. Sofas with red cushions and wooden carvings on the supports were placed near the windows. There wascurrently 1 person around the viewing area, one of them was drinking at the bar, one was playing billiards by themselves and a familiar looking girl leaning against one of the marble pillars looking around nervously. Oh... So bothof you are the remaining guys. the guy drinking at the bar chimed in from the side. Hey... names Araya Nori(ĹȡΤ), welcome to the Asentas class . Araya had a large build and a deep masculine voice. He wore his blazer unbuttoned and his tie loose and slightly crooked. His appearance gave off a delinquent type of feel. Akisada Hiroshi, nice to meet you. Enomoto Akira, same here. After Hiroshi and Akira introduced themselves, Araya turned away from them and continued with his drink. We probably shouldnt bother him. There he looked at the girl he saw back at the atrium once again. The girl noticing his gaze looked away once again. Thinking of it as weird Hiroshi decided to approach the girl. Seeing Hiroshi walking towards the girl, Akira decided to stand aways back from them and let Hiroshi talk to her alone. Grabbing her forehead she stares back at Hiroshi and you could see tears starting to stream down her eyes as she runs back into the toilet. After Kasumi ran away and disappeared into the toilets. Chapter 4: The Opening Ceremony Good morning Freshmen and welcome to Edelweiss Academy, I am Kawakami Momoka(ϡһ) the current student council president and a third year of the Asentas Division. From Today on you all are students of Edelweiss Academy and we expect all of you to work hard in order to attend the Grand Scale tournament and bring victory to our school. On behalf of the student council we once again welcome you to the school. Now with the introductions done, I will now perform a demo of the different types of magics to give you an idea on what you are gonna be dealing with throughout your journey here. We will start with the most versatile magic branch, Elemental. Elemental Magic allows the user the bend the natural phenomenon to a certain degree to their wills. The magic comprises of the elements of Terra(Earth), Ignis(Fire), Aqua(Water),Aero(Air), Electricity, Light and Dark. Through the nature, grant my will and bind my enemies - Earth Bind! The mannequin that was set on stage was bounded in an instant. That is the basic restraining spell for the earth element. Fire Dance within my hand and strike down my enemies - Fireball! The fireball impacted the mannequin causing it to explode, scattering embers into the air. Water, obey thy will and protect the innocent! - Water Barrier! A water barrier was formed across the stage preventing the embers from endangering the students sitting in the front row. As you can see, elemental magic is quite versatile providing offensive, defensive and utility to user. Moving on, I will be demonstrating a summoning spell. Come forth and assist me in my time of need! Summon! A small magic circle appears before Momoka and an adorable little kitten with a lions mane appeared from the magic formation. As you can see the summoning spell will call forth beings that will obey your commands, however, this beings each have their own magical level, if you summon a high-level being without the appropriate strength you might not be able to control it causing them to rampage. Higher level beings can be tamed by either building a strong bond with them or providing them an appropriate compensation or higher magical power. A tamed summon can be released and it will return to wherever they came from. Next, I will be demonstrating the support magic. Grant me the blessings of the war gods! - Enchant Power! Fireball! A blue fireball bigger and more coarse than the prior one was formed. The support spell enchanted the power of the fireball making it bigger and stronger. If you noticed I did not recite a chant before casting fireball, this technique is called chant nullification and if you guys work hard and train yourselves, you will be able to do it too. Support magic not only buffs people but also increases the natural recovery rate of the human being. I will now injure myself with a blade of light. Light Blade! Momoka then picks up the blade with her right hand and grabs the blade of light tightly with her open palm, causing blood to flow from her hand. I request the aid of the goddesses to help cure the innocent and the injured! - Heal! Momokas wounds on her palms healed in an instance closing up the cut she had from the blade of light. Next I will show you my contracted spirit, a spirit will approach you if they find you a suitable contractor for them. You can only contract a spirit once, so make sure to build a lasting bond with them. Come forth Regulus! A rift appeared behind Momoka and a Giant Lightning attribute lion 2 meters tall and 4.2 meters in length appeared from it. This is my contracted spirit Regulus, currently he is resized as he reaches a height of 5 meters and 10.4 meters in length he is one of the higher ranked spirits so he is very strong. You build bonds with the Spirit and this will allow the spirit to grow and increase in power. Spirits are able to materialise completely on their own once they grow strong enough compared to summoning where magic power is required to be constantly provided for them to materialise in our realm. In response to that, Regulus created another rift in space and proceed through it, disappearing completely. The magic that focuses on Transmutation Alchemy is not suited to combat but the products created by alchemy are very useful, New metals stronger than normal metals can be created, examples are mithril which made up the skylight train that you guys took to arrive here. Alchemy is also used to create potions that can heal wounds and strengthen someone among other users, but due to the environment here it is not suitable for Alchemy, hence, we will not be demonstrating them. MagiTech is the art of combining magic with modern technology, I will not go too indepth into it as the explanation is pretty long and boring, but an example of products created with MagiTech is the arca all of you are currently wearing. What I just demonstrated are the basics of the magic that you will be learning and are just to give you an idea on what you are going to be learning at Edelweiss Academy, I wish you all will learn much from here and will strive to constantly improve yourselves. As soon as Momoka chant ended, the magic formation condensed and became smaller before a beam of light was shot from the magic formation. When the beam of light impacted the headmaster, the entire auditorium was dyed in white and a strong gust of wind blasted through the area throwing everyone inside backwards. The entire auditorium was shrouded in dust and visibility was close to zero. As the dust began settling, a faint blue glow could be seen from the direction of the stage. When the visibility of the area began improving, a blue domed barrier could be seen covering the entire section of the stage. Within the barrier was a giant crater where the stage used to be and the Headmaster standing there perfectly fine but covered in dust and soot. HOOOOOHHHHHHH! As expected of our student council president she certainly is strong! (Akira) Hmph! Shigeo pushed up his glasses while staring seriously at the scene in the auditorium.
