《A Most Unfortunate Summoning》
Prologue - An unexpected summoning
The stars were right, the rings all in alignment, the moons all shining full on a beautiful midday eclipse. As the moons each slid into the suns path, a young apprentice chanted the ancient words of power. "Taera, Invex, Auiros, Onwam. Aetunus, Postentiar, Daevunium, Shaladar. praesunum offerunus sunus ijar. Inwunum eisu iejum!" Unfortunately the mage was linguistically challenged, and not only did they mispronounce the names of several grand praetors in a rather insulting fasion, they had misformed their offering and request.
Had this been an ordinary apprentice, or an ordinary day, typically nothing would have happened. But this was no ordinary day, the planes were the closest they had been for 800 years, and the moons and rings were all in alignment. The day was right for the most powerful of magics to be wrought. Nor was this any ordinary apprentice, with a mana core the size of a fist, a ki center as large as a liver, and even having psionic potential, this should have been the most potent mage ever born, had they ever been properly inspected, and not simply dismissed for their lowly birth.
These extraordinary events combined in the most unfortunate of ways. Rather than accepting the offerings presented to them, and summoning a hero''s to fulfillallof the mage wishes, the forces they had called upon took the mage as the offering instead, one eighth for each of the praetors to torment for their insult. And rather than calling forth an immortal hero as a servant, many ''heroes'' were called forth across the lands, while the mage obtained immortality to prolong their suffering. The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

¡ð¡ñ¡ð
I woke up to a hard fall. Fucking fell out of bed again, and damn, why was the floor so cold. Blearily opening my eyes I was greeted by a bright sky... Fucking hell, Kevin must have thought it was funny to toss me out in the wilderness just because I am a heavy sleeper. Grumbling to myself and reaching up to a nearby rock to help my self up, I yelped in pain as my arm slammed into the rock. Something wasn''t right, finally pulling myself up I figured I must have been drugged... this wasn''t Kevin, he didn''t have the money to drug me for a prank. And then, as the haze of sleep left me, I looked around. A small stone bridge over a stream with a packed dirt path splitting off in five directions from it. Now I was really confused. What kind of kidnapper just leaves someone naked on a bridge in the middle of nowhere? And where the hell was I anyway?
M1 - Something strange afoot
Taking another quick survey of my surroundings I immediately decided I would not be crossing the bridge, heading into the woods whIle naked sounds like a worse idea than walking along a river in the nude. Turning to face the three roads on this side of the river I could see naught but soft grassy hills and the dirt roads.
Figuring there was probably a town down the middle path I set off... and promptly fell on my face. Forcing myself up I set off more carefully this time, and still tripped not even 20 feet away! I got up, patted myself off, and noticed something stranger than the rest of the scenario combined. My skin tone had changed! No more was I the slightly yellow I expected. No, my skin tone had changed to be marble white. Further inspection revealed a toned 6 pack, an overall muscular body, my penis seemed smaller though, probably just the cold however.
This definitely was not a kidnapping then, or at least not an ordinary one. Whatever brought me here had reshaped my body to be like a Greek statue! Guess my height must have changed too, and that was what was tripping me up. Setting off once more, I took slow and careful steps, trying to learn how to walk in this new body as I headed out in my quest for clothes.
------------------------------------------------
The sun was starting to set when I finally made it to a hamlet, it only had 5 buildings, all small wooden ones, with two on one side, and three on the other. The building in the center of the three had lights on and had some unintelligible voices coming forth, probably a party. Deciding that walking around naked was probably not a good idea, I figured I could slip into one of these other houses and aquire some clothes. The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Crouching down and sneaking over to the closer house of the three I headed right for a window. Hoping for it to be unlocked was pointless, as there wasn''t even a window pane in there in the first place! Forcing myself in through the window I took a quick inventory of the place, and man, was it ancient. Not a single appliance in sight, not even an oven. At least there seemed to be an open bedroom door with a crude wardrobe in plain sight. Rummaging though it I managed to aquire an oversized shirt and some itchy woolen pants for a man notably larger than I was, even now. Ready to head out, I turned around and noticed the spear resting on the wall by the bed. Grabbing it, I headed out the window I came in from.
Newly clothed and armed I started to heat back towards the bridge. It was getting dark quite quickly, but by the time I made it back to the bridge, it never seemed to be any darker than dusk. Taking a look at the sky revealed six more moons than expected illuminating the land. Well at least now I know something is really odd here. Still won''t change my plans to head south along the river to find a proper town.
-----------------------------------------------------
Another few hours later I finally made it to a proper town right about as the sun... wait, no, make that suns were rising. With nice stone walls and a strong looking wooden gate it was a town right out of a video game. A pair of strong looking men in armor gestured at me to stop, while a third eyed me suspiciously from atop the wall, a bow in hand. "Papers please" requested the guard as he pulled an object out from a pouch on his back. "Can''t give you what I don''t have, sorry". The guard frowned before asking "Then, do I have your permission to do a full inspecton of your status?" Slightly confused all I could mutter was a quiet "What?" Before the guard sighed, and intoned "Inspection". Upon doing so he grew a smile and exclaimed "Why didn''t you just sat you were a hero? Well I guess with that gear you must be a new one. Come on in you can get you papers at the travellers hall down main street and remember, the gates are always open to great folk like you!" He pushed the gate open as I stood there, still confused by the situation.
Might as well head on in I suppose.
M2 - A new life
The town was abuzz with activity as I headed inside. Dozens or perhaps hundreds of people were out and about in the main street going to and fro. Almost everyone wore some kind of high collared shirt, the only ones who didn''t were not wearing shirts, or even clothing most of the time, though they were exclusively humanoid animals. The sheer mix of species I saw in just the first few minutes was amazing. Creatures I recognized as elves, dwarves, gnomes, and humans were the most prevalent by far, but at least two dozen people with animalistic features were also present, mostly ones with subtle features such as cat ears, or a rat tail, but others seemed to be little more than a bear walking on its hind legs. Weapons like the spear I had were thankfully common, with at least one in four people having some weapon visible on them somewhere.
Trying not to get overwhelmed by all the new sights, sounds, and scents, I hurried down the main street and ducked into the first building that looked official enough. Greeted by temperatures far warmer than those outside, a posh interior, and a woman whose head barely reached above the counter welcoming me.
"Hello you''re a new face aren''t you? Havent seen you before where did you come from, How are you so pale, Why is your lance so cheap? Did you need anything specific?" Her rapid-fire questioning left me no room to respond, and was nigh impossible to understand. "I was told by a guard to come here to get some papers" I cut her off before she could ask any more questions. "Ohhh why didn''t you just say so!" She somehow sounded both excited and disappointed at once. "Now strip" she commanded.
Startled by her sudden change in demeanor, I at least held onto the good sense to ask why before receiving a look of bewilderment. "So I can make you papers properly, I need a full appraisal of you without any equipment, oh and I need you to sign this release form here. Don''t worry if you can''t read, it''s just a standard information and liabilty release form, just sign on the line." This time se spoke slowly and clearly, though she was clearly frustrated with me. She passed me an older fountain pen, and some forms written in a runic script before heading to my side of the counter.Stolen story; please report.
The pen was surprisingly heavy, and I felt almost drained by the time I had signed the three spots she asked of me. The tiny woman gave out an appreciative whistle as I akwardly stripped. She told me to just stay still as she did herinspection. There was a distracting tingling sensation of insects crawling under my skin in various places as the gnomes hands searched around my body. "Almost done" she chimed as she grabbed my ass. Purring "Nice ass" at me, I suddenly felt a sharp pain on my left buttcheeck, as the gnome cheerfully exclaimed "All done!". I went to put my clothes back on, as I noticed her, nude, walking back behind the counter with a sharp knife in one hand, and a literal piece of my ass in the other.
Feeling a bit sore, i growled at her, "How much of that was actually necessary?" The little bitch even replied, "oh almost none of it, just needed you nude, a quick lookover, and a bit of your body, the rest was just fun. Now would you like to take a look at the quests while I finish up your papers, the board should be over on the left." No wonder this place was empty, if the gnome acted like this, no one would ever want to spend any more time here than they had to.
More than a little butt hurt about the recent turn of events I wandered over to where she said the board was and took a look at the quests, hoping to get a decent one by the time she was done. Unfortunately they were all in that same runic script, save for 2
Deliver 5 goblin heads
Doctor Peter Pertronas
50 silvers
Need goblin heads for research, stock is nearly out, please deliver by the end of the eclipse week.
Live research material
Doctor Peter Pertronas
4 gold
I need one of you to provide research material for several experiments, the procedure should be painless, and you will leave with more life in you than you had before, procedure should last two full days, meals provided.
Well, if I am doing both, better do the goblin heads first, hopefully this body is good enough for that. A few minutes later, the perverted receptionist called for me, "Sir there seems to be an issue, I need you to come into the back room." I sorely walked over to the door that had just been flung open and headed in.
H1 - And now for something different.
Heather woke up to a hard fall onto a stone floor. Ugh she was regretting having left her call sign out in the boys bathroom back in highschool. Sure it got her laid now and then, but now so many people keep thinking she was a Girl Whore or keep summoning her for pranks. Looking around she was on a cobblestone path in a backwater town... annd she was naked. Guess she must have gotten out of her nightie in her sleep, she focused a bit and conjured a new one. But nothing happened. Taking a look for the position of the moons to see what was up, her eyes widened in shock as she saw an extra five moons. This wasn''t earth. After a full chant, and cycling mana through her custom summon outfit spell, she did manage to conjure up a cute blouse with some nice jeans to keep her warm. Casting the simple spell exhausted her though, draining at least 100 times as much mana as it normally would. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.
Looking around as she entered a meditative state to restore her mana, heather took note of what she would need to do. The signs of the shops were in an unfamiliar language, Her body was a new one, and she was tired, and a bit horny. She would need to cast a translation spell, a spiritual binder, get laid, and conjure up a warm bed. Casting the translation spell, she noticed a nearby store was, in fact, a tavern, the binder could wait, first, she was getting laid and sleeping like the dead, she mused to herself as she walked into the tavern.
M3 - The Hunt Begins
The gnome had called me back with concern in her voice. Bringing me to a desk sized for her infront of a large machine, she showed me a document written in english on some kind of parchment.
"Now see here, this machine is supposed to print your status sheet in the most common language that you know, but this? I have never seen a language like this before, and I have seen many languages. You had better learn Gresh soon or you will be in big trouble. Also, I can''t confirm your second class here, so I can''t give you full traveler permissions."
She practically shoved the parchment in my face, or she tried to at least, given her height however, she barely reached to my chest. I offered to tell her the class once I had managed to read it over myself

"Warrior" I informed the Gnome. "My primary class is Hero, With an alternate class of Warrior" I knew better than to go around telling people I was a thief after all.
"Well, here is your card then keep it on you at all times" She pulled a cerulean card out from who knows where before handing it to me and stating "We will keep your full status sheet on file unless you request it, though you cannot accept quests if we don''t have a copy on file, a copy can be made for 10 silver, now if you have any quests you want to accept, just take them off the board and and them to me."
Taking a look at the provided card I realized it was like a miniature status sheet, though it had some interesting differences

It showed Attack and Defense Values! though, an attack of 2 seemed pitifully low, and If I understood this right I shouldn''t even be able to injure myself. Deciding to test my theory, I stabbed myself in the foot. Okay! I was wrong, that fucking hurts. A quick glance at my status card revealed that it had turned red, and I had lost two points of vital force from my attack. Not doing that again, guessing defense isn''t a flat reduction then.Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
I headed off to the board to pick up the goblin head quest, and went over towards the receptionist when I noticed a Giant of a man walk in and just drop a brown bag dripping blood on the counter. He was wearing darkened plate, and had a hood covering his face so I couldn''t make out any features, but the receptionist just smiled at him and said "Good work Gron, go ahead and pick out another quest while I count out your reward." I quickly removed my quest from the board and rushed over to the gnome as the man walked this way. He had to be almost 10 feet tall, and had a sword larger than I was, I did not want to tick him off by accident. I hurriedly handed her my quest, and left the building, as I heard her call out "3 adamantine, 18 mithril, 79 platinum and 67 gold pieces Grom! Thanks for the Dragon Livers"
Rushing for the gates hurt my foot a bit, but I wanted to get this quest done as soon as possible. I hadn''t slept or atesince I came here, and had no money to buy food or rent an inn, so I had better hurry up. Asking the genial gate guard for directions probably saved me a lot of time, since apparently, apart from one little goblin cave nearby, you couldnt find them outside of the forest on the other side of the river. I thanked the man and headed out for the cave.
A short walk down the road and two small hills later I came across a pair of goblins fuckingin the shade of a tree, their weapons discarded at their sides. The cave should be just on the other side of the hill here, so these are probably a patrol that decided getting busy was better than standing guard. I carefully snuck up and stabbed the one on top in the back. The spear sunk into its flesh, and it sreeched in pain as the other scrambled out from underneath it and went for its discarded sheild and sword. I withdrew my spear as fast as I could and lunged for the other before it could grab its shield. I managed to clip its side before it got its gear in hand, but it was still in the fight. The first goblin drew its sword and took a quick swing at me, catching me off guard and clipping my leg as it passed out from blood loss.
Ithrust one more at the remaining opponent, but it was too fast, nimbly avoiding my blow as it danced in and lashed out at me. Fortunately I had the advantage of reach, and managed to backpedal out of the way. I gave the thing a quickkick on the shield to knock it back before taking advange of the opening and skewering it on my spear. The beasts were both dead, but more were likely on their way. I scrambled up the tree and took a place hiding in the branches, waiting for more to approach.
It took about a minute for more goblins to head out, four of them came over, two werekeeping watch, crude bows in hand, one was investigating the corpses, and the fourth was looking up into the tree. Shit.
My heart raced as I tried to remain still, and prayed the little green bugger wouldn''t notice me. Luck was on my side as we met eyes, but he then walked away, sword and shield drawn, to look for me else where. The investigating goblin had put down his sword and shield to get a better look at the first one I killed, rolling him over and checking if he was breathing. A little bit later thepatrolling goblin had moved far enough away that I thought it was time, and I leapt down onto one with a bow, ramming my spear into its skull. Somehow I didnt actually penetrate it, but the force of my falling on it left a sickening crack as its head turned to face me, but its body did not.
Pressing my momentum I charged at the other archer, but disoriented by my fall I hit the air to his right. Lucky bastard didnt even have to dodge. The investigator went for his gear, giving me a chance to stab him in the chest, while the remaining archer backpedaled and fired his bow, clipping my right shoulder. The patrol, hearing the sounds of battle, rushed our way, but he was far enough out I should be able to take this last one down before he gets here.
It hurt like a bitch, but I had no time to relax, as I forced myself to lunge at the archer, but, tired as I was, my spear clipped off his rudimentary armor. Luckily I frightened the bastard, as he tried to backstep and shoot at me again, but instead tripped over himself and dropped his bow. I thought things were looking up, right as the patrol rushed into me and slammed his sword into my thigh.
Injured and angry, I twirled around to stab this little fucker in the face. Feeling a surge of power within me, The tip of my spear emitted a green glow as I stabbed towards him. He brought his shield up to block, but the might of the blow shattered the shoddy wooden thing and carried throughto go right into this little shits face, dropping the bastard immediately. One left, terrified he scrambled for his bow and I took the opening to stab him in the collarbone. I drew some blood, but the strike wasnt quite right, and I was feeling exhausted after that earlier strike the blow didnt strike very deep, and the goblin got his bow and backed off, taking one more shot as he turned to run. MOTHER FUCKER HIT ME IN THE CHEST! Just barely still up I lunged at the bastard one more time before passing out.
G1 - A Titans trials
Today was my 50th birthday, the dayI would finally undergo the rites of adulthood and become a man.I would be able to prove that just becauseI was small, didn''t meanI was weak, andI would come home with enough honor, glory, and wealth to shame those who mocked me. I kneeled on the altar, sword in hand and survival pack on my back, as my Outer-Parent watched over me. The cheif spoke to me and warned me of the rites, as the chief did for all those who came before, and all those who would come after.
"Child-Gron you kneel before us today to try to become an adult. But remember, no titan is ever an adult before they are a legend to the little ones. The trials will be difficult, and you will likely never find your way home and you willprobablydie,. As we do for all, we offer you the choice of remaining a child for a few more years, and in your case especially I recommend it."
His words were understandable, but that did not make them any less annoying. Just because my Inner-Parent was human they thought me weak. But Kaisar was not weak, nor was Gron, he may have been human, but he was not a little one!
"I will undergo the rites now Chief-Adan, Our honor demands it."
Shaman-Ogus-Ijarnodded their head knowingly at this, they knew it would be this way, they knew me too well to think otherwise.
"We will now find you a calling, it may take some time, but..." Shaman-Ogus-Ijar stopped abruptly and began to concentrate.
"Ready yourself Gron, A grand calling is coming, bring us glory when you return."
I closed my eyes and held fast to my sword and pack. A grand calling would be fitting, once I was done no one could think me weak, and they would know my Inner-Parent strong for sireing me.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The feelings of swimming in angry mudsubsided, and a loud screamwas echoing through the forest I had arrived in. A little one was being attacked by a bear. The poor thing had no weapons on them, and obviously was so young they did not know how to fight. I drew my sword, emitted my aura, and charged at the bear, knocking it out with a swift strike from the blunt of my blade. The little one cried andcrouched downbabbling words in one of their tounges. Eating a Kulus from my pack, their tounges shifted to the true language as I approached them.Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.
"Please don''t eat me. Please don''t eat me. Please don''t eat me." they spoke the same words over and over, like a mimic-bird that just heard them.
"I will not eat you little one, show me to your village, so I may bring you back there safely" I tried comforting the little one, patting their head with my hand.
They looked up ar me with a distraught look on their face. "Really? I - uh - it''s just over this way, and across the river." the little one speaked at me. Why did their voices have to be so high pitched, my studies tell me on most words more than half the little ones speak like this! It is a wonder anyone can tolerate them, though I suppose I shall have to try.
I walked with the little one as they lead me towards their village, spreading my aura out so that no weakings would dare approach. I saw the little one was still quite distraught from their ordeal, so rather than get them home at a snails pace, I picked them up and carried them along. They yelped slightly and their face grew red however, so I put them back down hoping they would recover. They were saying something, but their face did not fix itself, so I picked them up and ran to their village. It was in sight within moments, but if we had walked at the little ones pace it would have taken hours, and there was little time to spare!
The sight of me running and jumping across the river with my steely aura speading out must have been a terrifying sight for the poor guards, but I shouted for a healer, and one of them had the good sense to step aside. The gates were closed however, and opening them might hurt a little one behind them, so I lept upon the walls, spotted a good landing point, and dashed into town, taking care to not crash into the little ones, and shouting for a healer the whole time. The one I was carrying was turning redder and redder when a little one in a white coat came up to me.
"You called for a healer? Might I see the patient? I am Doctor Peter Pertronus, renowned healer of all manner of ailments" Thedoctor looked upon me with a smile upon its face, so happy was it to be able to help.
I showed the one I was carrying to the doctor, their face was almost completely red, and they were much warmer than they should be! The doctor simply took one look at them intoned Cure Disease. The little one from the forest did not seem any better, and seeing thisthe doctor took a moment to give a full length chant in one of the magical languages the fruit would not translate, before finishing with a Heal The one from the forest had their redness fade and looked much better, though still rather tired. The doctorturned tome and said with a smile on his face
"She will be fine now, she just needs some rest. Now there is the matter of my payment, that was quite a bit of mana I had to expend there, and I typically charge quite a bit for the services of that latter spell, but if you would just come into my office I am sure we could negotiate an alternative form of payment. After all, I am someone such as yourself could provide me with excellent specimens for my research."
P1 - Getting to the heart of the problem
And this is the thirteenth case! Out of 647 alleged cases of paranormal activity believed to be caused by humans, this is the thirteenth case I can confirm. The subject, Female, Age 14, was declared dead on arrival, after being in a freak automotive accident. Strange how a vehicular crash can leave dents the size and shape of baseball bats. Even more strange how the deceased appears to have no injuries, and seems to be subdued by sedatives. Oh well, time for thevivi... I mean dissection. Oh how I love to perform disections on subjects with strange conditions. This subject for example appears to have a rice grain sized purple gemstone near their heart, which is still beating after death... how odd. This gemstone has been noticed on mostof the other confirmed cases, in varying sizes and shapes, though it would appear to dissappate on death.
peaking of, I still need recordings of that, and I do wonder, is it brain death, or cardiac arrest which destroys the gem? I suppose we shall have to find out! Nurse! I need a defibrillator STAT! Ah yes, thank you nurse. Three... two... ah fuck it! Interesting... the gemstone appears to be exhibiting bioluminescent activity. Or not, where is that light coming from?Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

This is not my patient! Why is there now a dissected cat where my patient was? Oh, I was wrong, it is a vivisected cat, its heart is still beating. Why isn''t it sedated? I do not appreciate your approaches feline! please maintain your distance or I will have to-- Oh, I already kicked it away... Oops. Hmm, I am most certainly not where I once was... Oh dear, did the girls phenomenon activate on me? Spontaneous translocation is truly unpleasant. Oh well, time to move on.
The cat from before appears to be walking on its entrails. How is it still alive? Imustknow! The translocation seems to have left me in a rural african village? No, perhaps one of the poor middle asian countires? The architecture is unfamiliar to me, but it certain isn''t that of an American city. Ah well, I must simple appropriate one of these buildings from its prior denizens and set up a clinic like always. Doctor Peter Pertronius, For that which ails you. Catchy if I do say so myself, and this adorable eviscerated feline shall be the mascot! It even meowed in response to my thought there! and look, its marking the building and is gnawing on my leg, awww it likes me.
M4 - survival
Groaning, I was awakened to immense pain all over my body, and a facefull of goblin crotch... disgusting. Grabbing one of their swords, I set about decapitating each of the six.
Rather than the soft squishing I was expecting, I got a sickening crunching, and would have puked if I had anything in there, as the sword couldnt cut theiresophagi and had to crush it instead. Likewise the spine proved inpossible to cut with the blade, and I had to twist the head around as far as it could go before giving it a kick.Stolen content warning: this content belongs on Royal Road. I don''t know if I am cut out for this, fighting, stealing, and even stabbing someone isnt that bad, but having to dismember corpses like this is just nauseating.
Fuck it, its getting dark, and I NEED food today, so I have to get these fucking heads to that perverted little gnome so I can get paid, and maybe get a decent meal.
Dragging the goblin heads along and using my spear as a walking stick, I managed to make it to the town gates. Huh did that guard ever sleep? He is still on duty
"Doktava!" He shouts at me, a wide grin on his face... Why isn''t he speaking english anynore? Fuck, this is what that gnome meant isn''t it.
