This is my first story and would love to have feedbackfrom everyone. Enjoy the story. They had all gathered for one purpose. A precious treasure and their own ends. A man and a woman watched as boundless darkness poured forth over the horizon, spilling onto the land like an inky cloud. The man roared in defiance and a colossal sun appeared around him, radiating waves of Rubyflames. The woman called forth Azure clouds complete with lightning and deafening thunder that electrified and shook the entire land. Under such a combined force the darkness shuddered almost as if it was alive. A fissure appeared as more people and creatures released their own powers. Small shards of fire and lightning coiled themselves around a tiny wriggling bundle, forming a shieldas they shot through the fissure.Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. As the bundle shot through the opening, the man and woman relaxed their shoulders and gently smiled at the rapidly retreating bundle. Knowing the treasure was safe allowed them to focus on the task at hand. The Sealing. All the remaining people and creatures who had resisted being corrupted by the darkness gathered on the highest shard of land sealing themselves for an age. It was the only hope of ever seeing the light again. They all shared one last look in agreement, knowing thatthey may never see one another again. It was getting closer, its inky arms reaching farther and farther until it was upon them. There was no time to lose as they began to create more breaches. The darkness roared in defiance as it desperately tried to seal the rapidly appearing breaches. But to no avail. The Seals held and all that had gathered there remained frozen in time until another age. The land and sky shook with the terrifying howls of darkness. The darkness howled like a banshee at the sight of the action but could do nothing as it sank below the land and stopped moving. As it stopped moving words began appearing across the shards saying, "I am the cure for the disease, I am Khaos". Chapter 1 Within the VairinEmpire, a small wagon trundled along the rocky paths that wound their way throughout the forested landscape. Two people sat in the wagon, a man, and a woman who were uncomfortably seated because of the rough roads that bounced the wagon back and forward. The man that was wrapped in a brown woolen cloak glanced at his wife''s pregnant figure struggle to keep her balance among all the goods. Anders was a merchant for the small city of Drigod, Which supplied weapons and spices to surrounding cities and the capital of the entire empire. Anders was weary from the bustle of the capital and was looking forward to spending his time caring for his wife and unborn child. Kaelinna was seated by the goods that they had purchased and suddenly felt kicking that violently shook her out of her already precariousposition. She cried out to Anders to stop the wagon and hethrew a glancing look at his wife in worry as he pulled the wagon to a stop. As he got out and came around the back to check on his wife, he smelt a particularscent that he only smelt a few times before and it was always on the battlefield. Taking a careful look at their surroundings and noticed that the scent was particularlystrong from the East. Slowly drawing his blade he stood protectively next to his wife in case anything would attack. Holding his position for what seemed like an eternity he finally heard what he thought could be the cries of a newborn. He dismissed it as tricks his head was playing on him but was shakenfrom his thoughts when Kaelinna prompted him forward towards the sound.A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. " What are you doing, there could be a child in need. Get moving! ", exclaimed the flushed Kaelinna. Anders carefully advanced into the undergrowth towards the source of the sound. Twenty feet into the undergrowth the bushes and shrubs suddenly stopped and the scorched ground that shows signs of extream fire. As he approached the epicenter of the fire and to utter shock he found a small bundle of cloth that had an otherworldly quality that mesmerizedhim. Anders picked the bundle up and started unwrapping it and revealed the smooth flesh of a newborn. As he fully uncovered the body the newborn suddenly lets a piercingwail that shook his head and stunned him. He extremely surprisedto find a newborn in the forests and even more sothat the cry of the newborn had stunned him. Carrying the newborn swaddledin the cloth he returned to his wife who had a look of shock then worry as she saw the newborn. Holding the baby she immediately decides that she was going to care for it as if she was his mother. She looks down at his sparkling black eyes. " You, little man, are a lucky one and you shall be named Kordan".
