《Wit》
Wake Up
- Vince sighed as the brown, intimidating phrase appeared on his crappy Acer PC screen.
- "DEICIDE!"
- "Fucking hell dude, everyone is getting fucking carried by that one Hou Yi.", Vincent mutters. "Wait, Jean, how the fuck did YOU die?"
- "Uhm, shut up-" Jean says as he is interrupted by a laughing Anna.
- "Ahaha, he died to Fire Giant cuz he doesn''t know how to taaannkkk."
- "Holy shit, you''re actual garbage at this game." JB manages to speak, over how everyone can tell, his hands on his face, facepalming.
- "How do you manage to maintain friendship with us- no- with fucking anyone really?" Abriane speaks with a disappointing tone.
- "DEFEAT!"
- The screen materialized yet another depressing piece of text that no one wants to see. It wasn''t too rare to see, but judging how everyone did great looking at their KD''s, and Jean did pretty bad, everyone was really sad. But the laughs they got from Jean''s stupidity was enough to atleast brighten the mood a tad bit.
- That really was the main connection of the group of 5 had, even thru all the drama and problems in life, they had each other to sit back and laugh it off with. To others, their friendship may have been outcasts to the norm of society, but to them, it''s what makes it beautiful, really. Vince thought about this, as he forgets losing 10 Fantasy Points in that match, and a little smile alongside a little chuckle emerged from his mouth.
- Vince sighed, "Another one, you fucking plebs?"
- "Bag too big, honestly." Jean says in a joking matter, as the remaining 4 grunt and regret inviting him over to play SMOTE.
- As ontop, a queue appeared, signifying the timer on which the match starts.
- -
- Vince starts hearing blurred voices, "Mom..? where am I..?" Everything clears up as he sees a timer in front of him in red, that looked like a bomb, and his friends trying to carry him away.
- "Wait, WHAT"
- BOOM
- He manages to stand and push all his friends away, and they all get thrown on a massive tree trunk, sturdy enough to hold the impact of their bodies.
- Vince manages to cough out the remaining debris from the explosion, as he sees 2 men, one with bombs and the other aiming their bow at the 5 confused teens.
- JB manages to scream over the commotion,
- "RUN!"
Questions
Arrows shoot beside Vince''s ears. The 5 fairly athletic teenagers jump, crawl, and dash thru the forest''s natural terrain.
After what seemed like 10 straight minutes of running for their dear lives, the 5 managed to hide behind a truck sized rock beside an even bigger tree. Vince gazed around while panting heavily alongside the 5. For the first 2 minutes no one could even say a word. They were way too tired and inexperienced in free running in an unfamiliar terrain like this.
"What.. the fuck.. WHERE ARE WE!?" Abriane manages to yell out as we can differentiate a tear from all the sweat by his face. We couldn''t blame him, no one did. Anna manages to pull herself, while holding onto the rock for stability, and peek over the rock''s corner. "We lost them, fucking hell."
"You''re so damn lucky we still need our jungler in SMOTE, or we would''ve left you there, ass." JB manages to say. "Is this really the right time to joke about that?" Anna says as he stares at JB, sweat still dropping down his forehead. "Why? this is just a dream right? Mom is gonna wake me up soon, and yell at RB to wake up and prepare as we probably eat breakfast soon. Huh, Eggs and Bacon..? Sausage? Oh, I don''t even know.. what do you think Abriane?"
Abriane remains silent. He stares JB down.
"Are you fucking joking? this isn''t a fucking dream, we''re trapped here, and it''s all because of you idiots. You fuckers probably drugged me while we played, and dropped me here as a joke.. This isn''t fucking funny. Where are we."
"Actually, who fucking did it, I woke up here too, was it you Jean??" Anne shouts.
"I WASN''T EVEN IN THE SAME COUNTRY AS YOU."
"Yeah, but we all know you''d do it.." Anne says jokingly.
"SHUT UP!" Abriane screams, terror in his eyes. He obviously treated this very seriously, and Vince recognizes the situation.
"Dumbass, calm down, we don''t know anything, we just have to relax, and think. Atleast we''re not separated." Vince manages to say, voice still shaken, but he still tries to calm Abriane down, and so he did. "Alright, sorry." Abriane says.
Abriane catches a sheen off of Vince''s hand. An embedded green diamond. "Jesus, what is that?" Abriane points to Vince''s right hand, as he sees he also has a green one. All 5 had one. It didn''t hurt, nor bugged them. It felt natural, like they''ve had it for all their lives.
"We woke up in an island with people trying to throw bombs at us, I think this is the least of our problems. First off, let''s find an actual safe spot, we don''t know, there might be more people out to get u-" Jean says before he is interrupted a loud boom.
The 5 barely manage to catch a glimpse of what they heard over the massive leaves covering the orange rays over the horizon. It was a red smoke flash.
The 5 look in awe, as they see what the sky materialized. A list. A list of 30 people, seperated by 6 in color. Black, White, Red, Green, Yellow, and Orange. On the hologram list, was the name of the 5, highlighted in color Green. 1 person from the color Orange had an ''X'' beside their name, Matilda, and 1 from Yellow, George.
The red smoke then enters the hologram, and one from White, Mitchell, gets the ''X''.
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
"Maybe it''s the list of the people they''re trying to find?" Abriane questions the others. "Maybe? We should hurry to the red smoke then, maybe they''re trying to call us?" JB suggests.
And so the 5 walk the opposite away from where they met with the people trying to kill them.
"It should be around he-" Anne gets interrupted by a strong aroma of unexplainable aged meat that decayed and somehow hinted of burnt gasoline. They feel a burning heat, as they hurry to where it originated from.
"Fucking hell, it''s coming from here." Anne says to the group. Not long before a scream is heard from Anne.
A body, half burnt in the middle of an opening. Anne runs away, vomiting in the foot of a 40 foot tree, which was rather medium sized in the forest of abnormal trees they woke up in.
It''s whole lower body was completely destroyed, burnt and scattered. Chunks of meat and bone stuck out from the ground, as blood slip into the small crevices of the rocks where life once stood. Its right hand was kept fairly preserved, only missing 2 fingers that it, but atleast it wasnt its unlucky counterpart. The left hand was completely blew open. Bone and flesh stuck out of it. The chest was rather burned, including the right side of the body''s face.
"Must''ve heard my mixtape." Jean mutters.
"Godammit, fucker.." Vince lets out a little laugh even thru the horrifying display of death. On its heart however, was a hole. A completely blown up hole, where the red smoke was protruding out from.
"Wait, did the smoke.. come from there?" Vincent asks Jean. "Fuck, it looked like a shotgun barrel pierced thru it in short range." JB says, keeping a safe distance from the body.
Jean checks the non-gender display of death in front of them''s right hand, and sure enough, a white diamond. "You think its that Mitchell guy?"
"Guys? I found this on my pocket, and.. fuck." Anna showing a rather worried face.
The 5 group and read silently.
"Hey there! If you''re reading this, then welcome to Project WIT! Here, you are our chips, and we are your Gods. We decide what happens next in your lives! This year, we have made a WIT match, in teams of five! Your designated color is shown in the diamond displayed in the back of your right hand.
Now, your job is to kill the remaining teams! Every Friday (refer to date on hologram), a care package will be dropped with a beacon at any given point in the day. And trust us, it will save your lives! Now be wary, because if we think it gets boring, oh boy! We can edit this world, adjust weather, time, etc! Basically, keep killing.
Good luck, and stay alive!"
This hit everyone like a brick. The dawning realisation of having the need to kill to survive seemed out of their league.
That wasn''t a list of survivors, it was a list of the players.
It wasn''t a list of victims, it was a list of teams.
Teams in the ultimate game of death.
But before they could react, a loud horn is heard once again, looking up, the 5 stare in a state of confusion.
CARE PACKAGE LANDING
Around 60 meters away from them, as footsteps are heard hurrying towards the group.
