《Aurelia Online》
Prologue - My Dream is Possible?!
My name is Derrick Ashport. Now most people would expect some fancy, tragic, or exciting introduction right? Well I have probably the most mundane story out there.
I''m a well raised, average son of slightly wealthy parents who always give me the time of day. So I guess you can say I want not in my life. And that is fine with me.
Anyway this is probably a bit more info than is needed but I''ll give the brief overview of my self. 20, living in my own apartment with money from parents every month, upper tier grades in college, plenty of friends, and avid gamer. Oh also did I mention my obsession with monster girls? More specifically undead and poisonous ones? It''s the danger that excites me with that thought. Anyway as you can see I''m a perfectly normal human male.
Now to understand why I''m even saying this stuff we will have to look at two things.
1. A new VRMMORPG is coming out. I know, I know, it''s a common premise with nothing out of place about that. It''s the next part that is the kicker.
2. It''s a scifi fantasy style game. You know swords, guns, magic, psionics, ships, all that good stuff. The best part is the planets and races. They actually allow races that have to "rank-up" in game instead of all class based races. Which means monster girls are a reality!!! I mean come on!!!!
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
3. The AI is supposedly near as organic as possible, while learnign from the ''Farsouls'', aka players, actions and changing accordingly. Which mean all relationships will require the players to actually address the NPCs as near living.
Besides that I''m gonna be playing it soon so I have narrowed my race choose to either a arachnid or undead race. Then I shall build a beautifully dangerous harem!!! MWAHAHAHAHAH*cough cough* uhm uhumm. Whoops. I should probably start my story now shouldn''t I? Oh well. This is the story of me and my (mis)adventures within Aurelia Online!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A.N. Edited some lines and added a short basis of AI.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 1 - Welcome to Aurelia!
"Hey Derrick, you ready to play Aurelia tonight?" Asked a young man named Nikolas sitting across from me.
Nikolas here is what you would consider my best friend. We have known each other since about gradeschool and have had each others backs so many times it isn''t funny. He grew up same as me, in an influential family with plenty of money. The places we differ is that his father is the CEO of a Russian conglomerate (no I am not joking) and that he spends most of his time physically training. Thus he is the rougher of us two.
"Of course! You think I''m gonna miss my chance at my lifelong dream?! No way!"
"I''d be careful if I were you. Don''t let Hana hear you say that or else she will hunt you down ingame. You know how she gets about you."
I feel a cold chill down my back and shudder. It may sound like Hana is my girlfriend with how Nik is mentioning her but she isn''t. She is actually my only female friend (sadly not my doing) of one year younger and we used to have the same classes when we were little. Now that''s all fine and good up until her personality. First she looks sweet, calm, and intelligent. She would be a cool beauty by all accounts if it wasn''t for her slight obsession. See she has it on her head that I belong to her. Yes that I belong to HER and NOONE else. I can see where some guys would like that. Until the point she chases away every single female that gets close to me. She even scared away a few guys that had tendencies towards me. So this game is going to be a sort of escape from her.
"Don''t let me hear what exactly Nikolas?"
Oh god..... I glance at Nikolas pleading him to say something else besides what he is about to.
"Oh...um that Derrick here is going to be trying to go the support/tactical route ingame instead of his usual ranged attacker role." (Nikolas)
Thank you Nikolas!!! I knew I could count on you buddy!!!
"Hmm.....I don''t see a problem exactly in that....maybe I can be the one protecting you this time!" She grins and I swear I see a evil glint in her eyes as she says that while clapping her hands together probably thinking of overpowering my character.
"Um...yea...~shudder~ ¡®Please don''t let her pick the same planet as me.....¡¯ "
"Speaking of roles have you decided what races you two will be?" (Hana)
"I''m probably going to go with either the Dwarves, Ronso, or maybe a goblinoid race."
"So basically a muscles for brains route. I should have guessed. What about you Deri?"
"First off I asked you to quit calling me Deri. We aren''t in gradeschool anymore. Secondly I''m keeping my race a secret. ¡®Last thing I need is you stalking me in the beginning¡¡¯ "
"Muuuuu you''re no fun! And I like calling you by your nickname....you never call me by mine anymore...anyway I think I''m gonna go with a elf."
So quick overview of classes in Aurelia or at least the ones announced and leaked to the public:
You have your generic Dwarves, Elves, Humans, and Demi Humans. What sets it apart is the amount of subtypes as well as the monster races.
Elves: Wood, Dark, High, Luna, Solai, Snow, Aqua, and the list goes on. Wood starts on a forest planet, Dark on a wastelandish, High on normal, Luna on the moons of planet''s revolving around elf planets, Solai on planets close to the sun, Snow on tundra and arctic, Aqua on water based, and that''s just a few examples. The weirdest has to be the ones speculated to be on miasma based planets though the developer hasn''t released anything stating there will be one.
Did you know this story is from Royal Road? Read the official version for free and support the author.
Dwarves: Mountain, Outsider, Steampunk, and Mana. Mountain dwarves are born in mountains and tend to focus on metalsmithing. Outsiders are generally the merchant style and are used to sell Dwarven goods to other planets and communities, Steampunk dwarves focus more on creating robotic and gear based machines than smithing weaponry and armor and use exosuits, and Mana dwarves are the only ones able to harness magic, yet not at levels of the elves and thus focus more on runic abilities.
Humans: There aren''t really too many subtypes of humans. They run more along the type of community that they live in such as Nomadic, Wayfarer, Underground, basically a community for almost any ecosystem which is why they were given the nickname of ''Intergalactic Cockroaches'' (Not to be confused with the Space Roach humanoid monster race) by the other races.
Demihumans: These are far too numerous to name. If there is an animal, you can bet there is a demihuman for it. Most carry a trait of the animal they descended from as well as specific professions passed down. The consensus used to be they couldn''t use magic besides body strengthenin but now that psionics have become available many have added it to themselves to increase their abilities. The downside being shunned from their original communities.
And finally the monsters. These I will go over later since the list is a bit too long.
"Well then good luck to you. I hear the Elves are pretty strict. Anyway it looks about time to leave so don''t forget to send a friend request to us ingame if you can Derrick."
"Eh...too much work. It would be better for you two to send the requests. It''ll be to Nortaz as usual."
"I''ll never understand why you use such a weird name Deri."
Shaking her head Hana headed back to her seat to grab her stuff as the bell rung. Hearing that sweet jingle I launched myself out my seat and ran towards my car, bumping into a few others on the way out.
After making it back to my apartment I gaze upon the beautiful, sleek, red and black capsule sitting in the middle of the room with a tear in my eye, then quickly grab the holo disk that contains the game and place it in the capsule''s slot before
jumping in.

Welcome to Aurelia Online Nortaz!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A.N. Okay so it took me awhile to think up how exactly to introduce the other two characters as well as races and I hope I did well. As you can probably tell I wanted a brute style character yet I didn''t want a total muscle brain so I gave Nikolas some common sense. Also for those who don''t know Ronso are a mountain tribe race of horned blue tiger like beastmen warriors
EDIT: Took out the tables and went with Italics and centering instead. Also removed the names in parentheses and decreased space between sentences
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 2 - Time To Choose My Species
"Hello Mr. Nortaz. Welcome to Aurelia. Shall we begin on character creation?" a woman dressed in what I assume would be space wear asked me.
"Ah yea that sounds good. Mind if I ask a few questions while I''m at it?"
"If you so wish and it doesn''t break protocol then it is fine. Now which race would you like to start as?"
"Hmm....."
I glance at all the choices and it nearly knocks me down with how many there are. Nearly 6000 races (mostly monster and demihuman) are available as starter choices. Even though I expected a lot this is¡.rather surprising.
While I''m at it let me explain the monster races. They all follow paths along which they evolve. This goes for every single monster race, though there are times where exceptions come into place(such as a monster becoming a beastman). As such it gives a more varied choice but a bit restrictive ability-wise though if a player trains hard enough they can change that by unlocking a variant species or even unlocking a whole different species path. It gives it a true feeling of influencing yourself through actions.
"Can you remove any choices that aren''t humanoid undead or can become a humanoid undead?" (Derrick)
"Ah...if that is what you wish.." the woman removed all except the ones the young man requested and looked at him curiously as very few people have chosen undead so far.
"Interesting.....this one might be worth watching...or not. Maybe I''ll tell one of the younger deities...maybe Nerosia...she always was partial to the cursed races..." she thought amused.
"Thank you....hmm....by the way I didn''t catch your name." Derrick lessened his choices to 4 different ones. Wraith, True Ghoul, Skeleton, and Zombie.
"I never said it," she smiled and chuckled like it was a joke, "but I suppose I could tell you. My name is Arlesta, deity of creation."
"Ironic that the deity of creation is the one for character creation...makes sense I guess.. Thank you for telling me. Ah can I see the stats for these four species? "
"As you wish."
Four windows popped up in front of Derrick at that moment:
Race: Undead
Species: Wraith
Status:
HP: 50
MP: 100
PP(Psionics Points): 0
Strength: 5
Endurance: 5
Intelligence: 10
Wisdom: 10
Agility: 5
Wraiths are ethereal undead leftover when the soul of a creature is filled with regret or hate, as such they are prone to bouts of rage d tend to be shunned from civilized communities.
Wraiths are immune to physical attacks but they are vulnerable to most magics and psionics.
The evolutionary paths of Wraiths tend to follow the same path as they evolve from emotions and Mana absorption as such, most evolve from hate or sadness. Very rarely have Wraiths evolved into positive spirits from receiving love or kindness.
Race:Undead
Species:True Ghoul
Status:
HP: 150
MP: 50
PP: 0
Strength: 15
Endurance: 10
Intelligence: 10
Wisdom: 5
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.Agility: 15
True ghouls are different from normal ghouls in the fact that they retain the memories of their past life and aren''t as prone to animalistic tendencies which have lead to them being accepted within most undead communities as guards due to their strength and sense of smell.
True ghouls have varied evolutionary paths depending on how they fight and what they eat as well as what body they are made from.
Race: Undead
Species: Skeleton
Status
HP: 100
MP: 10
PP: 0
Strength: 10
Endurance: 15
Intelligence: 5
Wisdom: 5
Agility: 20
Skeletons are one of the most numerous undead as well as one of the most promising when it comes to evolutionary paths. They are mostly used as laborers and servants as well as disposable military due to the fact they have next to no free will or intelligence until later evolutions. They are affected by almost everything that happens to them.
Thanks to having no muscles or brain and running on Mana and souls the skeleton rarely tires and can run unencumbered.
Race: Undead
Species: Zombie
Status
HP: 150
MP: 0
PP: 0
Strength: 15
Endurance: 15
Intelligence: 0
Wisdom: 0
Agility: 5
Zombies are considered the lowest of the undead. Not only do they have very few uses besides fodder, they also reek so much other undead can''t stand it.
Zombies have no magic potential and generally are stuck on a evolutionary path of warriors though some may gain a different path if they absorb the souls of enough magicians.
Their endless hunger also attributes to their low status as it becomes costly to maintain them and was the reason so many races looked down on undead.
"Hmm.....this is a hard choice....so how many deities are there?"
"Are you sure you want to know? I can assure you the list is...quite long" she chuckles as she says it.
"Oh wow...alright then.....how are psionics in this world?"
"That is for you to find out. Also considering your...preference...it will be a while before you have access to them. Unless you can somehow impress a noble."
"Damn....well I guess that will have to be put on hold until a later evolution."
"As it is almost launch time I am going to be very busy so if you didn''t mind...." she looked at me expectantly.
"Oh sorry, sorry...I choose....."
Chapter 3 - How To Train Your Wraith Skills
".....Tr-"
"I''m sorry the Creators are telling me to hurry up so you shall have to deal with a random pick of the four you chose. As consolation I''ll add a few points to your Luck when you start. I apologize."
After she said that the room faded out and I was floating above a battlefield filled with all the races. I suddenly felt the urge to fly into someone so I looked around for someone about to die so I would have less chance of ruining someone''s life and spotted a scowling Illithid (squid humanoid) who was about to take a blaster shot to the mantle and took control of his body, causing me to scream..or rather gurgle.. in pain from his wounds as the shot fries my head and everything fades to black (yes it did feel like my brain was blown open).
¡°shreeee!¡± a bright flash suddenly engulfed me as I speak and then I noticed my ''voice'' was little more than a shrill sound so I checked my status:

Can speak simple sentence moans.
"Well then. Looks like I might need to start harvesting souls from some animals....and then work on trying to find a good way to tilt my evolution towards what I want.....also I need to see about this deity thing. Since I''m hated by most races I''m guessing that a church is out of the question....hmm...I''ll deal with it when I get a chance. Let''s see what I can do first."
After looking at my status I noticed I was in the middle of a decaying forest whose trees looked like the hands of an old dying man and seemed to be reaching for any semblance of life they could grab and after a bit more looking I saw I was near a cave. I tried moving but it was weird. Imagine swimming without legs through a murky swamp and that''s what it felt like.
Hearing a rustle in some bushes I turn and see a small rabb- actually it was a undead squirrel. The poor thing was missing an eye and had one dangling front paw showing its bone in the arm.
"Guess he is better than nothing for a starter fodder."
Trying to get the scan skill I stare intently at it and observe every aspect of it. After a 10 minute standoff(?) I finally get the skill and subsequently scan the squirrel.
Name: Zombie Squirrel
An undead squirrel. Died and infected by a low grade zombie. Now craves the souls of dryads and treants and contains the rage of a million berserkers¡. yet since it is so weak it is not much more a snack for other undead. Honestly what did you want to know?
"That¡¯s a¡..colorful description...poor guy...well now you are a snack for me so may your rage become my sustenance."
I float over to it and activate corporeal form then grab it''s little head and twist it off killing it instantly and use soul devourer to see if I can get anything.
HP and MP restored by 2. No skills or points earned
Title Earned: Squirrel Eater
You have decided to make a squirrel''s soul your first meal. Minus 5 to relations with squirrel based races
Skill Gained: Stealth
By voiding detection you have gained the ability to avoid detection in the shadows.
Skill Gained: Assassinate
By sneaking up behind an enemy and ending their life in a single strike you have gained an increased chance of critical attacks when unnoticed from behind.
"Really? I guess I definitely need to level my skills up. And thankfully I have no intention of meeting a squirrel race so that doesn''t affect me too badly. Also looks like my next evolution path has been decided. Now to search for more prey."
I hunted for the next 3 hours with a result of me eating 13 souls. 10 were squirrels while the rest were rats. The only reason it took so long was because I had to wait for my MP to refill to use soul devourer. Thankfully from all that I gained 3 levels, some Stat bonuses, and my soul devourer, assassinate, and stealth skills went up to level 2 as well as gained the unarmed combat skill.
Unarmed Combat Lvl 1(70.00%)
You know how to hurt stuff with your fists better. All unarmed damage gains a bonus of 3% and it is easier to land hits with your fists.
A.N. I plan to describe how non undead races start out in a later chapter as it differs an interesting amount and results in the MC getting some extra time to get accustomed to himself compared to his teammates as well as showing why some races get a better setup than others.

You Have Discovered Forsaken Mine
Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website. As you are the first to find this dungeon you gain experience 50% faster and you''ll receive the best drops from the first kill of each different type of creature within.
Recommended Level: 5-10
"Nice! Looks like I might get a few nice beginner items! But wait...since I''m a wraith...dang. Can''t keep them equipped until I have enough mana regeneration to stay corporeal. Well let''s get to delving."
Venturing deeper all I could hear was the whistle of the wind and dripping of water as it fell from the stalactites. A few minutes later I notice a shadow run past into the nearby wall and hear snickering.
"Looks like I might get a good fight against another spirit.." I mutter noticing how the shadow has a presence similar to mine.
Happy that I will get a chance at true combat I speed up to a quick floating pace and go further in the mine, admiring the ore deposits until I come to a wooden door. I try to go through but to my surprise I get pushed back a bit. I feel like I can make it through but feel a force fighting against me so I push myself harder and notice my mana decreasing when I suddenly fly through the door and a box pops into my vision.
Skill Gained: Phase
Now you can phase through solid objects! Congratulations on learning something you should already know!
Cost: 10 mana to activate, 5 per second
"Well that''s weird..seems that there is some comedy attempts by the system...hmm...well at least I¡¯m through the door. Now to look for some enemies to truly assess my skills!"
I continue to follow the path when I sense an ominous presence filled with despair. Getting closer I notice a shadow standing over a pile of coal then I inspect it.
Miner¡¯s Soul Lv:6
The spirit of a miner that died and was trapped within the mine. Now it continues on doing what little it remembers of it¡¯s work resentfully unless disturbed. Immediately will attack any of dwarven blood in hopes of stealing their body.
"Sweet. Alright |Stealth|" I mutter then try to sneak up on the dwarf. Sadly it senses me and turns around right as I get behind it, hitting me. I release stealth and then start trying to claw it but I only deal minimal damage while it takes a large chunk of my health.
"That''s what I get for attacking a few levels higher....crap I''m gonna die at this rate..."
I trade blows with the miner for a few more minutes then getting desperate I use cursed touch and luckily it stuns it. Seeing this I start unloading on it until it reaches 10 health left and frees itself from the stun. Seeing this I decide to try a hunch I had when I saw it and use Soul Devourer.
HP and MP healed by 10. 2 Strength gained. 50 bonus experience gained.
Level Up!
Looking at the loot on the ground I saw a few light blue creds, some ectoplasm, and what appeared to be a interesting ore.
Shadow Iron Ore
An ore occasional dropped by ghost miners that can be forged into a weapon that damages ethereal enemies or can be wielded by them
"If I can grab a few more of these and then find a town they will definitely come in handy." I grin and pocket it, marveling at how strange it is to not have a body yet feel a solid material.
Moving deeper into the mine, coming across a few more spirits, and getting 2 more ores which should be enough, as well as leveling up again, I came across two paths. One was open and the other had a locked door. Thankfully I didn''t need the key and just phased through and noticed it was a storage room.
Inside were multiple buckets of ore and some mining tools so I stored a pickaxe in my inventory as I couldn¡¯t hold it then noticed a chest hidden behind some crates. Opening it I find some rations, a few daggers and a rusty copper pendant. Taking it all since it can be sold, I leave and head down the other path which leads to a large iron door which I''m guessing has the boss hidden behind it.
Just before I open the door I get a notice telling me I need to leave the pod and get some exercise or else I will be ejected and blocked for a full day. Deciding I don''t want to risk it I log out while making a snide remark about the system¡¯s timing.
A.N. I know this chapter was rather boring. Sorry about that.
Also this chapter made me decide that yes I will add in the occasional slow and non action filled chapter to keep myself refreshed. And I will most likely come back and edit this chapter later to add more descriptive words about his surroundings if I feel it fits him better to be someone who really observes his surroundings.
Oh finally in regards to how he could easily twist off the head of an animal:
1. They are already dead so no blood falls out just rotten fur and black ooze.
2. He is fine with rotting skin etc as he has a weird acceptance of it because of his fetishes as well as previous experiences as a necromancer in other VRMMOs
3. This isn''t his first VR game. He used to have a problem with all the gore and such but now he doesn''t even notice it.
Sorry...seiza
I want to apologize first to Corwin1030 who tried to cheer me up and encourage me with a message. Next I want to apologize to those who were waiting and enjoyed the story.
Now I want to say the reason I basically disappeared and this story seemed to be dropped was because I burnt myself out mentally trying to deal with real life and trying to make those accursed Stat boxes.....so i will be starting the story back up but with a few adjustments.
First Stat boxes are gone except for on character info pages. Next I will probably take a little while to release each chapter as I need to edit, proofread, and also study up on how to fix some of my horrible spelling and time...spanning? Idk the word but basically how time progresses in story as I noticed I seemed a bit rushed. And finally I need to study up on actual fight scenes as I am quite the passive so I have never actually fought so intense study will be required.
You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.
All of this will take some time since I am going to be working alone on this.
So again I apologize to anyone who wanted to read this and hope you support me in the future.
Chapter 4.5 - Birth of The Farsouls
___________________________________________________
A.N. This chapter will detail how living races begin their lives.
___________________________________________________
Arlesta sat in the character creation room as her consciousness was dealing with the influx of players or ¡®Farsouls¡¯ as the natives would call them, remembering how she and her siblings had to announce the arrival a few years before.
To summarize they had to mention how beings not from this world would be joining society soon and how they would need to welcome and guide these souls yet also keep them in line. These beings would return from death. Which some natives protested against in outrage, and that they would become capable of great or horrible deeds over time. That is the official speech anyhow.
Later the god/dess high priests were each told that they are to start gathering couples that would help teach these new souls as they would start from infancy and be assigned to families which matched to their personality and desires. Al of this seeming simple enough the priests agreed, and ended up finding many willing couples especially between those who were of different races as conception rates between races were low, so this announcement brought forth many cheers from those couples.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
Speaking from the programmer¡¯s side, this was designed as a countermeasure as well as an attempt to see if people would treat this world more realistically if they had to grow alongside it. How this was achieved was that the players would be placed at toddler age into a family and their surroundings and what they pushed their bodies to do while in this stage helped to determine their stats. From there they aged especially fast and learned the parents trade as a subclass which would be a blessing for some and allow everyone a bit more variety instead of your usual character creation.
As for why Zenid truly took this approach is that they wanted to see the effects on grown humans who were forced to live with a non birth family and that were forced to start over as children as it provided valuable feedback for them and growth material for their AI they had designed. In fact the whole idea of starting players in families was the AIs idea, which delighted the creators of it.
This means monster based races that weren¡¯t demi-human were both hindered as well as privileged to not have to go through this and thus their skill growth was designed to be faster until they hit their tenth level than humanoids to make up for the lack of influence.
As Arlesta was thinking on this she noticed that her sister Nerosia was calling her, likely to talk about the curious wraith boy, so she left to meet up with her while her split consciousness dealt with the players.
Chapter 5 - Seeing Lemmy
Leaving the comfort of my pod, I stretched out and looked at the clock which told me I had been in the pod for a little over 8 hours.
I sighed and went to grab a bite to eat then thought about what I could do to pass the time. I assumed Nik and Hana were ingame right now so a jog seemed best.
Grabbing my running shoes I made my way out of the apartment and to the elevator meeting a few of my neighbors on the way. As I walked out of the building and began my jog I thought about how different the feeling between the game¡¯s atmosphere and real life¡¯s atmosphere were. There it was varied and had multiple planets each of varying civilization levels while here we were stuck on Earth with no progress on space travel since most people figured VR was a good enough substitute.
In fact technology had really stagnated in all fields except VR because of the fact that according to Nikolas, most companies including his father¡¯s were paying hefty sums to research digitization of human consciouses as an alternative to finding new worlds to put the large amounts of population. While they couldn¡¯t yet, I was more than willing to do it if Nik agreed to do it too, while Hana would do it anyway if I did so I didn¡¯t really worry about leaving her behind.
Finishing up these thoughts I saw my apartment building coming up again and saw almost an hour had passed so I headed back and washed before jumping into my pod again.

Welcome Back Nortaz
As I opened my eyes I saw the iron door in front of me again and thought about what boss could be behind it. All I could think of were either a Foreman spirit or some form of abandoned mining machinery which would be a bit harder to deal with than another spirit. Hoping it was the former I slowly opened the door then cursed my (supposedly good) luck.
It was a humanoid machine with two drills on its arms and wheels where its feet would be that rose about the height of 3 average humans and a dwarf. What made it worse was the fact it seemed that because of the influence of the spirits in the mine, the drills where its hands should have been had become shadow metal which means if it hit me I was going to get hurt big time. So my only tactic for now was to scan it and see how bad I would get it.

Class: Driller Golem
Lvl: 10
Lemmy used to be one of the most relied upon golems in the old mine back before its closing yet she has fallen into disrepair over the years. Thanks to the despairing spirits passing through her on their way to work she eventually gained the shadow attribute and now guards the larger ore veins against the spirits. Caution should be observed as while she is a golem, just like adisownedheiressher cold body has become filled with resentment about her abandonment
After reading about ¡°her¡± past I kind of felt sorry for the golem, yet it didn¡¯t change the fact that I would be no match for her in my current state even with her in disrepair. Concluding that I decided to come back once I had actual equipment to use as I was not dying like I did back when I started gaming in World of Witchcraft: Apocogeddgionism 13 when I tackled a Orcish Wyvern (yes the child of a orc and wyvern, though the sex must have been awkward as heck) with a copper dagger and a pair of black leather pants.
Slowly closing the door I decided to leave the mine and see if I could find some civilization or at least a camp so I could ask about finding a blacksmith and a church or altar as I was needed to see about having a dagger made and learning about my deity, Nerosia, as Zenid Corp hadn¡¯t informed us that we would be assigned to certain deities without being given a choice.
As such I decided to head west on a whim as I figured I would run into someone eventually. I just hope they are friendly or at least don¡¯t attack me on sight.

Chapter 1H - No Elf Like A Snow Elf
-Hana -
Seeing Derrick rush out of the classroom I can''t help but giggle at how enthusiastic he is for the new game.
Not that I myself am any less so, but I an hold my excitement in unlike him. I have had years of experience holding things in after all, especially my desire to completely and utterly own- I mean become the beloved of Derrick.
It isn''t like I would keep him to myself completely after all. He can have his little NPC relationships but if they go any further than that......
"Ojousama your vehicle is here."
I jump in surprise but quickly compose myself.
"Ah Celia thank you. On another note have you disovered if the company did as I asked?"
"There were some....complications but they changed tunes after we brought up ojousama''s family name."
"Uuuuu....you know how I feel about using it..."muttering the last words I look at her indignantly. I am the daughter of a major political power player and as such my name carries weight, yet this same weight threatens to break my shoulders so I try to avoid using it whenever I can. Especially around Derrick. The last thing I want is it to seem like I want him for political reasons as even his parents have some clout in business dealings behind the scenes including with my father.
"I apologize but we can''t use anymore money or your father would notice. You know how he is about your obse-over caring nature for that boy." Celia quickly catches herself yet I notice her slip up but let it go. She just won''t understand and neither will my stibborn headed father. "He isn''t this! He can''t do that! This young politicians son is this so marry him!!" All that nonsense from Father is so usual now I just brush him off.
"Well I guess it is time for me to get home and begin my game. Don''t want to be left behind by Der and the brute too badly.

Leaving the school in the family vehicle I run to my room as soon as possible when I get home as well as tell a maid to pass a message to my father informing him to not bother me for the rest of the weekend unless it is utterly urgent.
"Now....let us see just what kind of trouble we can cause."
Grinning mischeviously I climb into my custom pod of silver with a blue trim. The lid slowly closes on me and I see the Login screen and login using my preorder and founders bonus code. You may be wondering what I mean when I say Founder''s bonus. Like I said father has clout....and well when I saw Der''s cute face looking at the SlapBeginner campaign for this in school on his phone I just had to help give it to him. What self respecting lover wouldn''t try their hardest for their object of affection?
As I enter the character creation area the AI there asks me for my race but I can''t help but stare at her in envy as I wonder if she was the one who Der saw....
"Damn her and that tight jumpsuit!!! I know she must have tried to win him over with it!! Mark my words I will find a way to spite you woman!!"
Keeping my composure on the outside I simply tell her Snow Elf and then she asks for my name.
"That should be obvious enough. Yukihime." I smirk towards the damnable woman as she sends me off after making my character then the next thing I know is blackness then the sound of a baby''s cry.
"Oh no.....nononononononononononoonononoNONONONONONONONO!!!!! Is this what they meant by as realistic as possible!!!! If this doesn''t have some kind of trick or catch it will take forever to catch up!!! Plus a real family is enough, I don''t need a virtual one unless it is his!!!!!! This must be that wretchedhag''s fault!!!!"
That night the whole village of Kakig¨ri drowned in cries that sounded as if someone was brutally murdered only for the cries to die on the merciless snow drift winds without a care in the world.
Chapter 2H - Growing Pains
"Ugh........these past weeks have been hell......." complaining I imbue another arrow with ice and shoot it at the practice dummy.
See, apparantly the game had slowed down time to a 7:1 ratio so I could develop my character without wasting too much time. As such anything I did influenced my stats as my character was growing up, which in turn came with some interesting effects yet I wouldn''t find out until later when my "parents" brought me to the church to check my status.
First off my constant anger and crying gained me both the banshee''s wail skill and the rage stat and if that has been all I wouldn''t be complaining too much yet after that it kept getting worse.
After I gained the skill and stat everything faded to black and then when I could see again I was in a room and noticed that there were a few books, a couple of toys, and a stuffed animal. Now seeing as I was still mad I figured I would take it out on the stuffed animal then read. This in turn gave me the chokehold skill, torture skill, and a bonus to my intelligence.
Blacking out once again I found myself in front of a training dummy with some toy weapons on a table nearby as well as some other elves playing there. Since I had decided to be a rear attacker I naturally picked up the bow. I soon regretted it yet couldn''t change. This gave me the Persistence skill and Archery skill as well as increasing my torture a level and gaining the sadist passive when I got tired of the loud children and started shooting towards them.
Finally I found myself in a room with a young guy in a robe trying to teach me magic as well as constantly trying to sneak peeks at me. As a result I gained Mana Manipulation, Ice magic, Charm, and a level in sadist. Naturally after the lesson the guy left me alone, yet he seemed happy for some reason.
After all of that happened I was taken by my "parents" (who I had no recollection of and was surprised to learn they were a elf shopkeep and a half beastkin chef) to the church to get my status checked. Needless to say everyone including me and the priest were at a loss for words as my status looked like this.

"SERIOUSLY!!!! Bipolar?! Also it looks like some of my real life leaked over into here... this will make it harder to avoid too much attention...damn."
Afterwards my parents and I had a LOT of explaining to do, yet I passed it off as being on accident.
Now I am readying myself to get out of this damn town. I mean honestly who would want to live in a town called shaved ice? I still have to find where my Der is and claim my spot by him. And I guess meet up with meathead if I have the spare time.
I head inside through the tiny little house my parent''s have and I have to admit there is something cozy about such a small abode. Running to my room I grab my pack as I hear the sounds of my parent''s apparantly doing there duty to bring more kids into this world.....hehe just thinking about how I wish it were Der and me in that position brings a smile to my face...ugh enough about my fantasies.
Leaving my room I yell above my parent''s voices telling them I am finally leaving, then step out the door ready to begin my hunt.
My dear Derrick we will be together soon, and I will protet you from the AIs filthy ches...hands.
- Meanwhile in the GMC (Godly Monitering Center) -
Shaking her head sadly Reila looks at her newest addition to Farsouls wondering why her sister shoved the girl her way. She worries for a second thinking about all of the ice scupltures the girl made of the Derrick boy and shivers.
Changing to follow said boy she whispers while watching him floating through the woods towards a cave.
"I''m so sorry....I will try what I can to get my sister to help you you poor child."
The LCD moniters flickers off as she leaves to go find her younger sister in hopes of preventing or at least stalling that boy''s despair. If nothing else she hopes to convince her to give him a boon to protect him.
Apologies + Update on Story Status (Rewrite + Fleshing Out)
Dear few Readers,
As stated in the title, First Allow me to apologize for what seems like me abandoning this story. I had gotten a job which had taken my time up and I ended up forgetting about this. Later I remembered and decided that as the story was it was mediocre even by comparison to the average story on here so I decided to rewrite the whole thing. Instead of doing Alternating characters I am going to take each character''s story and write a whole arc or 2 for each character or do individual books based in the universe first then have them come together. In addition I will have a few opening chapters focused on fleshing out the world both pre and post-Zenid influence instead of trying to awkwardly mesh the VRMMO and reality into flowing chapters as I am not skilled enough to succesfully pull it off. So basically what I am saying is that I''m not just gonna be giving it a fresh coat of paint, I am going to be taking a sledgehammer to the walls, burn whats left , and completely rebuild. Also I want to say that any suggestions should be sent to my email [email protected] so that I can keep track and sort them before I get truly started.Love what you''re reading? P.S. If anyone wants to help create the full background and culture distinctions of races and their subtypes that I described in the beginning then that would be amazing.
