《The End》 Chapter 1: A Mistake Chapter 1: The city bustled in activity as it did every Sunday morning. It was only 9 in the morning and the market just opened. Not one person that needed to buy something would be late. People were afraid to miss the best products and end up with second end products. There were two types of shops, outside and inside ones. It was not surprising to anyone that inside shops were the most prestigious between the two. Most of the time those prestigious shops were for cultivators whereas outside shops were mostly used by normal people. There was still cultivator shops outside but only low level and cheap items could be found there. Selling and buying were not the only economic activity that would take place here every Sunday morning. If one does not look closely they would not notice small, ragged, skinny kids. Some of them would work for a coin giving indications on the market while others would steal. No matter how much money you could get from stealing you had to be alive to enjoy it that¡¯s why only the most courageous and daring children would even think about it. To keep your life, the most important thing was to guess who was a cultivator and who wasn¡¯t. That''s you had to be very knowledgeable and know every shop, what they sold, who was the seller and even which shops had the most people coming to it. Even if a cultivator was 99 percent of the time from a rich family and would not buy groceries or he would be the whole town laughingstock. That did not mean that stealing from people buying food was safe. Some very rich family employed cultivators'' servants and not being a cultivator did not mean you could not beat a kid to death. The main difference between a low-level cultivator and a mere mortal was their perception. That¡¯s why, If you stole from a cultivator he would take a few seconds to notice, even if you had hands as fast as Wei''s. Wei was a dark-haired and green-eyed kid with a dirty face. He had been stealing for a few years and was considered the best in the slums. He was overly cautious. He could wait hours before choosing his target. He would look at every detail. Did they have a weapon? Did they sweat or not? He would observe the way they walked what they bought? What they wore? Even how much they spent !? If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. And this time he had chosen a very fat man that sweated a lot which for Wei ruled him out as a cultivator. The man did not look rich nor did he look poor. He was clothed in a very sober way, all in black. However, he only bought high-quality food. He was a perfect target. There was a saying in slums ¡°If he is rich enough to get fat he is fat enough to get stolen". Wei observed his target for a few minutes then moved. He entered the crowd while staying a few meters from his target. The fat man was minutes away from the fish shop which was one the best spot since it had one of the shortest escape route. Furthermore, buying fish was a very important matter if you didn¡¯t want to die from sickness. That¡¯s why most people took their time. Finally, The man was in front of the shop talking to the fish seller. Wei ran. It was all about speed and that was all he had. He passed right next to the fat man. At most, he grazed him. His fingers worked their magic. Eventually a few seconds later, he could feel the big and heavy purse in his pocket. Thus, he could not help a smile from appearing on his dirty face. However, he would not dare stop running. Besides, he could see the end of the street where he had to turn left. Suddenly, he heard a shout ¡° MOOOVE YOU FUCKING PEASANTS !!! IF I DO NOT GET MY PURSE I WILL KILL YOU ALL !!!¡±. Wei slightly turned and witnessed a human meat cannonball charging towards him. Fear overwhelmed him and he quickly understood he had been mistaken. This man was a cultivator and the only reason he was not already dead was because the man was obese reducing quite a bit his speed. Besides, in a few seconds, he would reach the end of the street where his last resort was. As a matter of fact, a few meters to his left was the sewer entry. In spite of the man being a cultivator, If he got there he was saved. First of all, because this meatball cultivator was too big to get in the narrow sewer entry and in addition because the sewer was a maze that only kids from the slum knew by heart. As he turned he felt some hope he might survive. Although it was quickly crushed by the second shout from the man: "A HUNDRED SILVER TO THE ONE THAT STOPS HIM !!!!!" Wei''s face lost all its color. In spite of him speeding up, as one could expect it did not take long for a well-placed leg to appear in front of Wei. The last thing he saw before he fell and hit his head on the ground was the sewer a few meters from him Chapter 2 : Background Chapitre 2: Wei was probably not born in the slum. However, he had no memory before that. Therefore, He did not even know is exact age. He only knew he was probably between 14 and 16 years old. Probably closer to 14 since he was so small. He knew he was in Zao country and more precisely in Lie city. He also knew there were mortals and cultivators that were trying to become immortals. That was the full amount of his knowledge of this world. Since he could remember Wei had this dream of getting rich and getting out of here. He wanted to become a cultivator. Not for eternal life but to have adventures, roam the whole world. However, he was gonna die having done nothing and knowing nothing. Wei woke up to the smell of shit and piss. The smell was so strong that he threw up in his mouth. He was in a small dark room chained to the wall. Time passed but he didn''t know if it was days or hours. Suddenly he heard a whistle coming from the corridor and the door opened. The fat man himself walked in with a small box in his hand and smiled at him: "Sorry to make you wait, I had things to take care of" He walked to the small table to Wei''s right and opened the small box. Little knifes of all sorts were orderly arranged. There was curved and straight ones as well as some that looked like a pigtail. Wei was afraid like he had never been. Yet, he would not beg since there was no way he would survive. At least he would go with his head held up high. The fat man whistled again, almost dancing which looked weird since his legs were very short. He took a small butcher knife stared at it with a smile then turned his head to look at Wei.Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. "Let''s begin with your fingers." He grabbed his thumb in his greasy hands and with one big swoop tried to cut it. However, it was no sharp enough and it got stuck on his bone. Wei screamed from the bottom of his lungs as tears ran down his cheeks. "Sorry I haven''t used them in a while. I''ll go sharpen them "he said The monster left while Wei kept crying. Huge amounts of blood dripped from his hand. He waited for what felt like an eternity but he was not in a hurry for that devil to come back. Unfortunately, The fat man did come back. Right behind him was a big black dog on a leash. "Sorry had to take the dog out. I brought him so that he could see his future meal." He had a good laugh then attached the dog to the table. He picked the same bloody knife he had used before and slowly cut the finger. This time it was much more easy like cutting butter. It took him hours to cut every finger due to the man was enjoying this too much. Wei had screamed so much his voice had died. You could still hear his wails echoing through. Now he was mumbling, his eyes had lost the light that was once in them. He looked like a crazy person. "What should I do next" the fat man wondered "I have to hurry before he dies from losing too much blood" He walked back to his little box of knives and pondered for a minute. Accordingly, he decided to pick a large blade, curved at the spot. The man turned to face Wei and smiled "I''m going to cut every tendons you have. This might take a while" Wei begged. any pride he had, had long left. Yet he never begged the man to life but to die. You would not believe how many tendons a human has. The shoulders, the arms, the hips, the legs as well as the hands and feet. When it finally ended Wei had been unconscious for a while and was barely even alive. The fat demon took him out of the chains. Wei fell on the floor in his own blood and piss. He whistled to the dog while he untied the leash and said "Go ahead you can eat him" He did not need to say that twice as the dog jumped to his throat finally giving him the death he had been asking for Chapter 3 : The friend Chapter 3: Wei was eating that meat and was loving it. He had blood all over his mouth. He grabbed an arm and tried to tear it from the body. He wanted that bone. Suddenly he stopped, he was a dog eating himself !!! "Why do you bark?" said his killer He had no time to turn around. In the same sentence, he got kicked in the ribs. His whole body hit the wall. While pain came from his ribs, he was still thinking how unbelievable It was. He was a dog. In addition, the weird thing was he did not feel like himself and yet, he did not feel like a dog. It''s like he was a mix of both. He still wanted that bone. Wei looked at the bone with loving eyes and had to use a tremendous force of will not to eat himself again. The worst thing was he almost felt complied to obey his master, the one that tortured and killed him. He felt anger. Wei tried to fight the dog instincts. He wanted to kill the man. It was an internal fight the dog him wanted to obey but the human wanted to jump on the fat man''s throat. " If I can''t fight a dog''s mind isn''t that the biggest joke? " Wei wondered He stayed still for a minute as he felt he was finally gaining some control. Watching his dog stay still the man started getting pissed off "Do you want another beating" It took less than a heartbeat for Wei to jump at his throat and him being a cultivator wouldn''t change a thing. He was clearly a low-level one. He ripped his throat off and ran. He had to survive. He exited the room climbed up the stairs and for the first time saw the place he had been in. It was a medium-sized house, quite dirty and it even looked like an old lady''s house. Wei wondered something that had stayed in his mind for a while now "How did this man end up cultivating? I mean only nobles or very rich people would have access to this. He might have been employed by someone but the weird thing was that most employees from noble or rich families would be pretty. The memories of the dog were of no help, quite disorganized. He stopped thinking about it and tried to find a way out. He ran to the door and tried to open it with no success. He was locked in this house. He tried the windows but he would have to break them. He needed an object capable of being used to break a window without him getting hurt. He ran down to the basement and grabbed the box that had been holding the knives then threw it with his mouth toward the window. A part of the window broke. He succeeded and was finally free. He ran into the streets disappearing into the night. However, he was very tired that and after running for a while he just fell asleep on the side of the road. He woke up very early because the sound of people talking. He had been sleeping next to a very busy road. He walked of few meters into this busy road and quickly wondered why people were staring at him this way. It took him a few minutes to finally realize he must be a quite bloody looking dog He needed to find water to wash and drink and the only place he knew had some was the sewer. It was quite easy for him to find one of the entries since he had lived there his whole life. Yet, facing the entry he found himself with quite the issue. You needed to use a ladder to get down. Have you ever seen a dog using a ladder? Cause he sure had to. If anyone saw this scene, they would have a good laugh. He used his claw to grab the ladder and tried to get down in the most human-like manner. With no surprise, he missed a step and fell. Luckily, he did not fell on his head but on his already hurting ribs. He stayed still a few minutes, controlling his breath in order to reduce the pain. This book''s true home is on another platform. He found water a few minutes later, drank and washed. Then, he came back to the ladder. However, he quickly realized he couldn''t climb. After trying and falling for a good dozen times, he gave up. He needed to find one of his friends. He knew where he was staying at and it was not too far from here. Thus, He began running trying to use the most unused routes he knew. In spite of this strategy, it did not take long before he found himself in front of a group of kids looking very happy to find him. They encircled him trying their best to capture him while throwing rocks at him. He fought them but didn''t want to kill any of them. Even if Wei had killed the fat man, he was in no way a killer. Let alone kill those kids he identified himself with. He jumped on of them knocking the kid down and ran as fast as he could. He had to find Hui only him would protect him or more exactly would protect a dog. Hui was his only friend and one of the leaders or at least, he was someone, not one kid would attack or disrespect because of how tall and strong he was. Besides, he was a cat lover. He did not know if he was a dog lover but he assumed he was an animal lover. He had never seen him hurt or eat a dog. He finally reached the place where Hui was staying at. He took a small pause to look around hoping to see his friend. Finally,y he noticed a guy to his right, showing him his back and seeing how tall he was.He must be Hui.Hee ran to him.
