《Gacha Goblin》 Prologue The dark and murky cave was dyed a pitch-black, not a single speck of light reached this depth. The walls were damp and the air was moist, sounds of dripping water also echoed throughout. These conditions proved that no one can thrive in this place, or at least none had yet to try. But in this farthermost reach, one peculiar cry sounded. It was a mix of gargling and nonsensical sound, which indicated a spark of living. However, it was not exactly one would think. Lying on the rocky surface was a hideous creature, colored green and have a sharp, jagged teeth. In most literary works that discusses other world beings, it is what they refer to as a Goblin. Lowly fodders that are meant to be killed at the start of each adventures, only to be forgotten as the story progresses deeper. And in some cases where they are described in a more elaborate form, an idiotic existence that is driven by instinctual desire to procreate. It is for this reason why their numbers are culled and is despised by many. They are simply regarded as mindless beings that is parasitic in nature. However, unlike its predecessors or race in general, this one had clear sentience evident from within its eyes. After grasping the situation, the Goblin had quickly stopped its tantrum and stared directly in one point. It made numerous gestures on the space, seemingly trying to access something invisible. From an outsider''s perspective, it seemed as though that it was fiddling in the air. But looking from its own angle, a translucent screen was hovering at arm''s length. A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

Gacha???
Naturally as a newborn, the Goblin had no indication as to what was the definition for the contents of the status. It can only have a rough understanding for their purpose even with high intelligence. As such, it would take some time until it learns everything from the ground up. After all, experience speaks for knowledge, and it could always be dealt with later on. The bigger issue was that it knew nutrients is needed to survive, but similar to its earlier ignorance, it had also no clue how to obtain food whatsoever. All it could do was squirm around and look in all direction, trying its luck to find something worth a value. Unfortunately, this futile attempt only served to drain its energy, worsening the situation. Gradually, not only its hunger grew more intensely, but there was also a dry sensation forming in its throat. For the first few hours, this feeling was sort of trivial. However, it quickly became unbearable to the point that it knew that it was going in a fatal condition. Thinking of this, it began to struggle once more. But alas, no significant progress was made. Then, as it was about to give up, a droplet of water landed on its lips. "Ufck!" the Goblin shrieked, leaking a startled voice. It hastily wiped off the water off of its face, and soon regretted this action.

Judging from the abrupt announcement that popped up, the wet object had a great importance. Knowing this, it had the sudden urge to taste it out. It looked up directly and opened its mouth, chancing for another droplet to fall. Doing this for about a minute, the Goblin had finally caught one. Although not by a wide margin, it somehow alleviated the drying sensation. Feeling much accomplished, it let out a wide grin albeit a disgustingone. It then repeated the same action over and over until it passed out from the exhaustion.

Chapter 1 Once the sun have swept the darkness that crept throughout the land, all livelihood have once again resumed as though the fears of trouble brewing while night stayed have not once lingered in their hearts. Although not a single indication of light could still yet to be found inside the cave, this was the same too for the Goblin, regaining consciousness almost an hour later after the morning came. As the day came forth onwards, the arduous struggle that it had to endure, it remembered all to well. And as much as it wanted to alleviate it''s growling appetite still remains, and in fact, have grown much even stronger than it was from before. However, this day was different. Unlike yesterday, it wasn''t completely hopeless. Because of the fact that goblins naturally had faster growth rate, and a ridiculous one at that, compared to other species, it was now able to move in all fours. But this does not erase of it in state of infancy, and as such, was still stumbling upon regions that wasn''t leveled consistently. Regardless of the accumulation of grazes it had received from bumping into sharp rocks, the goblin continued in search to find food. The process didn''t take too long for a moss of a peculiar violet color to loom in the background. Not once did the Goblin recall of having any resemblance that it attempted to eat, which is to say including pebbles, it didn''t have to take a second for it to try to put it in its mouth.Enjoying this book? Two announcement sprang up simultaneously, and an idiot as it was, it didn''t suspect anything to be wrong in the first screen until a sudden burst of pain ached in its stomach. The excruciating sensation was enough to put it into tears. "Mhoetrkerfcu!" It crouched instinctively and held onto its belly, groaning indescribable sounds. The effect of the poison was brief, but it was long enough to leave a measly fraction of its total HP. Estimating its defense value and an average strength that of humans, it would take only one swing of a sword to end its life. But since this place is seldom visited, and those that do were of hero status, the Goblin wouldn''t have to fear for its life. Not that it had any idea regarding about this. Also, since it received damage from a status ailment, no bonus stats were gained. The Goblin approached the remaining pieces of moss, its eyes tinged with craving. Without even a hint of reservation, the plant was being chewed tenderly again.
