《Flames Within the Heart》 Sneaking Around Draco''s sniffed staring into a lighted room, the scent of lilies and redwood filled the air. His yellow eyes glowed brightly, as the scent excited him. He run his hand through his dark brown hair, biting his lower lip with his sharp barred teeth. "Draco!" his eyes shot over to an older, bald, lean man. "What do you think you are doing?!" Draco then looked back into the room, trying to get lost in the scent once more. He heard loud thuds as the man walked over behind him. The man grabbed Draco by the back of his black shirt. He looked at Draco with a fearful shock slapped on his face. "What do you think you are doing?!" his whisper was harsh, yet deep. "That is the princess''s room, what are you thinking, peeping?!" "I can peep at whoever the hell I want to Stipus," Draco growled lowly, exposing his sharp teeth to the older man. His eyes glowed a deeper yellow as he felt himself get more angry. Stipus let go of Draco''s shirt and stared at the piercing yellow eyes. "You know dragons aren''t allowed to make contact with royalty. If someone else found you like this-"Stipus was cut off as footsteps began to move in the bedroom. Draco turned to the bedroom and watched carefully. A small teenager walked to her wardrobe closet, her long, straight, black hair covering the back of her pale, bare body. She picked a short red, black laced dress. As she turned, she revealed her bare chest. Draco stared, licking his teeth as he saw the plump breast on her chest, small buds sticking out. His stare went lower and saw her shaven crotch, and her smooth pale legs. He smiled wide, seeing someone so innocently viewed, naked in front of him. But sadly his sight seeing was cut short as she slipped the short dress on, covering her pale body. The sleeves covered her arms completely, flowing down her wrist. The bottom of her dress cut off at the knees, covering her thighs. Draco sighed and looked to Stipus, who was turning his back to the door. "You look ridiculous," Draco said passing by him to go upstairs to the tower, where, according to the soldiers and "law" told him to stay. "Are you happy?! Destroying the princess''s privacy!" Stipus said, his voice once again harsh, but now full of disappointment. "You act as though it was the first time I saw her like that," Draco chuckled. Stipus paused and stared at Draco. Draco counted in his head. 3...2...1... "What does that mean Draconius?!" Stipus shouted. Draco laughed, considering he only used Draco''s full name to get a point across, or to tell him he was in major trouble. "This wasn''t the first time?!"Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! "No, I go there every morn to see that sight, it''s much better then seeing the sun rise over the water," Draco smirked. "And every night, to see it so it could be in my dreams." Not that dragons have dreams, he thought. Dragons rarely got any sleep to begin with, do to with the hunger for fresh meat and blood that made their blood boil. When he did get some sleep, it was an endless darkness inside his mind. He hated sleep. "Draconius, what you''re doing is very dangerous... Do you want another whipping?" Stipus looked worried at Draco. Draco growled lowly, remembering the pain of a black whip hitting his back, as his hands were chained to a wall, tearing his skin apart, making him bleed. His hand grabbed his shoulder and grinded his teeth. "Draco, next time they won''t hold back on you..." Draco growled louder. "Hold back?!" Draco turned to Stipus, his eyes back to that piecing yellow, with bloodlust circling inside them. "I could''ve been killed! All I did was eat an apple!" "Without paying for it." Stipus glared back at Draco, worry somewhat lingering in his eyes. "That was a small law break, what do you think they would do if they found you peeping on the princess?" Draco looked down his eyes changing into a calm brown. "I won''t see to it that you sign your death certificate." Draco sighed and began further up the stairs. "I''m only worried about you Draconius..." "There is no need to worry Stipus," Draco said, as he opened the door to the room, located in the top of the tower. "I''ll meet you at training later, right now, I need to be alone." He looked at Stipus, who nodded at him and started to head down the stairs. Draco walked into his room and closed his door, latching it closed. Draco''s room was never a whole lot of anything. It had a small one person bed, and a small wardrobe. His walls were made of the tower''s stone, while the ceiling was made of redwoods. The floor was smooth, especially for stone, but it was cold. At the end of the bedroom was a balcony. It looked over the castle village, and onto the lake that lead to the mountains where the sun rose. It wasn''t much, but it''s all he knew. Draco ran his hand through his hair, pulling his brown hair back before it slowly flowed onto his forehead. The thought of the princess still lingered inside his mind. Her pale skin, her plump breast, her long silky, black hair. Draco licked his lip. He stared at the sky and took in a deep breath. Then he began to remove his clothing. He pulled his shirt over his head, showing his bare, muscular, semi-tanned chest. On his back, brown scales surrounded small slits, near his shoulder blades. He removed his pants and underwear. Draco cracked his knuckles, then grabbed the railing of the balcony, and took another deep breath and looked to the sky. He began to growl, and change. His skin split into small silver scales, his bones grew and moved in position, wings sprouting out of his back. He roared as he finished his transformation, spreading his wings proudly. He flapped his mighty wings and began to rise to the sky. He sniffed the air, enjoying the fresh morning air. He rose to the very top of the tower, then kicked off of it with it¡¯s muscular brown scaled legs, shooting out into the sky. Meeting Each Other He spread his wings, flapping them once in awhile in the sky. His eyes searched the land for food. Unlike other dragons, Draco preferred an unexpected deer, compared to the sheep and cattle the castle provided. Recently the soldiers were out everyday, sometimes hunting, finding food had gotten hard. Draco snorted, then flew down to land on a tree. When he landed on the top of the tree, Draco looked around, trying to see any track of deer. Nothing. He shook his head disappointed but then perked his ears from the sound of rustling. He hid himself in the leaves, ready to attack any deer that happened by. But he relaxed as not a deer, but a human came out of the bush. Not just any human, the princess. Draco tilted his head, wondering why the lovely princess was out in the dangerous woods. She walked carefully, almost sneaking. Her movements were cautious, yet, confident. She looked behind her, probably making sure no one followed her. Draco watched as she went to a bush and started picking berries. He was amazed, never seeing royalty outside the palace before. She actually broke a rule. Draco slowly moved down, maybe she¡¯d break another rule. Suddenly, he heard someone running through the woods towards them. The princess looked around for a place to hide. Draco squinted, noticing, she was afraid. Draco heard the running, he looked at the princess and jumped down from the tree. The princess stared at Draco, her eyes wide, and her mouth open. He walked over to her, and lowered, so she could climb on his back. She stood still, stunned to see a mighty creature before it. ¡°Can i trust you?¡± her voice was soft, and almost made Draco melt. Draco closed his eyes and nodded once to the princess, then opened his eyes once more. She did not hesitate, and ran to his back. He looked up and started to flap his wings. The princess held on to the spires jutting from his spinal column, tightly, hoping not to fly off. As they rose, her grip loosened. He looked at her through the corner of his eyes. She was looking around, her arms, loosely wrapped. He looked ahead of him and watched the sky. You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story. When they came to a clear valley, Draco landed, letting the princess down, and stretch. She looked at him, her eyes still filled with amazement and curiosity. ¡°Can you talk?¡± she asked Draco, her voice was calm, and even kind. Draco nodded once again, no he couldn¡¯t physically talk, but he can communicate. ¡°Can I ask you some questions?¡± He nodded again. She looked down and sat in some grass. ¡°How old are you?¡± Draco rose his head, thinking on how to answer. He then tapped his claws. 1, 2, 3,.... she counted 18 times. ¡°18?¡± Draco nodded. ¡°You¡¯re my age, then? Alright, why did you save me?¡± Draco then bowed, signifying that she was royalty. She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair. ¡°I never asked to be a princess you know.¡± She looked up at Draco. He tilted his head slightly and laying down next to the princess. She smiled and laid on her back. ¡°There are too many things I¡¯m not allowed to do. Like go outside, cook for myself, I can¡¯t do anything fun.¡± He watched her black hair glow in the sunlight, her pale skin shining. ¡°I want to run my own life! I want to explore and learn more about the world.¡± I want to learn more about you, he thought, closing his eyes and breathing slowly, completely calm. ¡°What about you?¡± Draco saw her eyes meet his. They were a bright green, with golden specks sparkling in the middle of them. He quickly nodded, and looked down away from her. ¡°Do you have a name?¡± He nodded again. ¡°Well? What is it?¡± Draco tilted his head, trying to figure out how to tell the princess, who did not understand roars, growls, and grunts, his name. He could always change back, but then he¡¯d be naked... in front of the princess. He could always spell it out, but that was difficult due to the fact that they were in a meadow. He sighed, shaking his head. The princess pouted a little and rolled on her stomach. ¡°Do you want to know my name first? That way you can trust me better?¡± she asked, smiling only a little bit. Draco nodded, eager to hear a name he would never forget. ¡°Don¡¯t make fun at me, but it¡¯s Warmth.¡± Draco turned his head, why that name? ¡°My mother named me it because I was born on a cold day, yet I was able to be born with a strong heat.¡± The Laws Draco thought of Warmth¡¯s heat, but not in the way she was describing. He was daydreaming of the heat that lived inside her, the heat only her mate would ever get to feel. The heat that lived between her legs, begging her mate to take it. The heat under her large, plump breasts, as her nipples hardened under the hand of her mate. The heat inside her mouth, as their tongues danced. He wanted that heat, he want to steal it from her and take it as his own. But he couldn¡¯t not in this form, it¡¯d rip her in half. ¡°Is something the matter?¡± she asked, snapping Draco back into reality. Draco nodded, then looked away from the princess, trying to discontinue his thoughts of ravishing this innocent flower. ¡°So? What is your name?¡± Draco sighed and then looked at her. He stood up, but hugged his wings to his back. He roared, figuring the only way to talk was to turn back. As he turned his scales retracted into his skin and his jaw, hips, and spine broke back into place. His horns retracted into his skull, and his hair formed back onto his head. He no longer had claws, wings, or even his thick tail that swung behind him, just human skin, face, and tailless body. Warmth stared with amazement, her eyes and jaw open wide. ¡°Careful,¡± Draco chuckled, ¡°or you¡¯ll eat a bug.¡± Warmth closed her mouth then looked down blushing. His penis laid half-stiffened, pink and, even half soft, very large. Draco noticed that''s where her eyes had landed and smirked proudly. ¡°Take it you¡¯ve never seen one?¡± Warmth shook her head, her eyes filled with curiosity. ¡°Wanna feel?¡± Warmth now looked at the nude boy with a disappointed scowl on her face. ¡°Nevermind it was a joke.¡± He looked around and tried to find something to cover with. ¡°Oh!¡± Draco turned to the princess who held a black cloth in her hand. Draco smiled, nodding to thank her and began to wrap the cloth around his hips, covering. He then sat down next to the princess, trying not to laugh at her tomato-like face. ¡°So...¡± she turned to him, her flushed face showing the small brown freckles on her face, ¡°you¡¯re part human?¡± Draco shook his head. ¡°No, all dragons can turn to a human form,¡± he began to explain. ¡°Most just choose not to.¡± ¡°Does it hurt?¡± she asked, her voice low. ¡°Yes, but only for a short amount of time, then you get the satisfaction of flight.¡± He looked to the sky. She smiled and nodded, agreeing to the amazing experience she had. ¡°Oh right! Your name?¡± She was back on topic. She¡¯s not too quick to forget, he thought. And with what he wanted to do, she would never be able to forget. ¡°Draconius. But for short, just call me Draco,¡± he smiled at her, noticing that now, inches apart they were smiling at each other, staring into each other¡¯s eyes. ¡°Wow...¡± The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. ¡°Wow?¡± she tilted her head, confused. ¡°Am I uglier up close, Draco?¡± Ugly? Who said you were ever ugly? He thought. He shook his head rapidly. ¡°Actually quite the opposite. Mesmerizing.¡± He could smell her scent again, lilies and redwoods, the outside. Her eyes shined with the sun reflecting off of them, her skin glowing. Truly Mesmerizing. She pulled her black hair behind her ear, still flustered. ¡°Well, thank you.¡± Draco leaned closer to Warmth, making her skin turn a bright pink. ¡°W-What are you doing?¡± ¡°Nothing,¡± He smirked, showing razor teeth. He placed his mouth close to hers. He just wanted one taste, one little, small taste. He could feel her breath, it was heavy, excited. ¡°You seem excited, princess.¡± ¡°Please don¡¯t call me-¡± Suddenly he got his wish, her taste. Her lips were soft, somewhat chapped, but still soft, sweet. She didn¡¯t hit him, nor push him away. Instead she held her lips to his. He placed his hand on the back of her neck gently, pulling her deeper into the kiss. She let out a small noise. A pleasurable noise. He pulled away and chuckled as she caught her breath. ¡°Sorry, I couldn¡¯t help myself,¡± Draco smiled. Warmth looked up at him and smiled at him, her face bright red. Draco stared happily for a moment, then reality hit him. Hit him like a mace falling from the sky, right into his gut. If anyone were to find out about this, she¡¯d be sent away. Or he would be killed, skinned for cloaks. He backed away from her, fear coming over him. ¡°Draco?¡± Warmth touched his hand, scooting closer to him. ¡°What¡¯s the matter?¡± He looked into her calming, bright eyes. He shook his head, then looked down at the ground. ¡°The laws...¡± he growled. ¡°That¡¯s what¡¯s wrong.¡± He bared his teeth, ¡°they¡¯re stupid, why do we have to stay away from each other?!¡± ¡°Because Dragons and Royalty do not mix,¡± a rough voice stated. Draco closed his eyes and sighed. Stipus stood, glaring at the young dragon, tapping his foot like a disapproving mother. ¡°You know the law Draco! Yet you dare and succeed to break it!¡± Stipus looked at Warmth, who had backed away from Draco, confused as she could possibly be. ¡°Princess, did this poor excuse for a creature hurt you?¡± Warmth shook her head rapidly, yet still too confused to make words. ¡°Good,¡± his motherly look went back to Draco, ¡°you¡¯re lucky she isn¡¯t injured. Do you want to be whipped? Is that what you want?!¡± Draco stood up and looked at Warmth. Would this be their first and final meeting? He felt a deep, strong growl begin in his stomach. He turned to Stipus, letting the growl escape out of his throat, his eyes changing into the piercing yellow that Stipus knew too well. ¡°Whipped or broken down, I will not obey such an idiotic law!¡± He breathed heavily, his anger threatening to consume him. ¡°What is so bad about dragons huh?!¡± his voice let out a powerful grunt. He wanted to change, to take the princess and fly away. To burn the kingdom to the ground. He clenched his fists, and bared his teeth. Stipus grabbed his sword, his body tense and nervous. Draco began to chuckle deeply, a harsh, demented laugh. ¡°Are you going to fight me, Stipus?!¡± He growled again and bent down, preparing himself to change for battle. Draco felt a warm hand on his back, then saw the princess step in front of him. For a moment he froze, she was protecting him. He slowly stood back up staring at her silky black hair. Stipus removed his hand from the grip of his sword. ¡°Princess the law states-¡± ¡°I know what the law states Mr.Stipus,¡± she cut him off, almost like she was snapping at him. ¡°But there is also a law stating that I, as a princess, am not allowed outside the kingdom!¡± Protecter ¡°For you protec-¡± ¡°Enough!¡± Draco¡¯s eyes widened at the sound of her raised voice. He felt his heart skip a beat, yet was it out of amazement or surprise? ¡°I am the princess of this kingdom! I have been trained in archery, and swordsmanship! I am no defenseless little child!¡± ¡°Yet here you are with a dragon, who you just met, unarmed and unattended!¡± Draco awaited Warmth¡¯s reply, somewhat in an eager manner. Warmth turned to Draco, their eyes meeting, staying in complete contact, until Draco closed his eyes and kneeled down to the princess. ¡°This dragon belongs to my kingdom, and is as loyal as you are, sir. I have no fear of him.¡± Draco looked up at her, finding a kind, generous smile to meet him. ¡°You will keep this a secret Mr.Stipus.¡± ¡°What?! My lady, please that is fooli-¡± ¡°It is my order. Our encounter is never to be known by another soul. I will continue to meet with Draco,¡± Draco looked to her, excited that this wouldn¡¯t be the last time they see one another. ¡°And you will be a keeper of that secret as well. If I hear of you telling anyone, I will personally take the whip to you....¡± She paused and looked back to the stunned guard. ¡°No matter how distasteful the thought.¡± Draco had to admit, she will be a very powerful and commanding leader. He felt himself smiling widely, licking his lips. Even more enticing! he found himself thinking. He looked to Stipus, awaiting the guard to complain and try the ¡®I know all cause I¡¯m like 100 years old¡¯ act he pulled with Draco so many times. But to his surprise, Stipus kneeled down to the princess, bowing his head. ¡°Yes My Lady.¡± Warmth walked over to him and placed her hand on his shoulder. ¡°Thank you sir,¡± she nudge him to raise, ¡°But please the ¡®my lady¡¯ is for my mother. I insist you call me by name.¡± Stipus rose and bowed his head once again. ¡°And none of that, I may be a princess but I¡¯m not a dictator.¡± ¡°As you wish princess Warmth,¡± Stipus looked over to Draco, whose eyes were still glowing a piercing yellow, as he licked his teeth staring at Warmth.Stipus knew that gaze, it wasn¡¯t an unrevealed stare. He wanted to mount the princess, take her as his, whether or not she wanted to. Stipus put his hand consciously onto his sword, making it very obvious what he would do. Draco snarled at Stipus. He didn¡¯t know if it was his instincts or a warning to Stipus to step back. Draco stood and walked next to the princess, feeling his heart race as he grabbed her hand. He felt Warmth¡¯s eyes look to him, those bright, strong eyes he could look at for ages. He did not take his eyes off of Stipus though. He saw a threat behind his eyes. If you touch her, right? He thought. Draco chuckled and closed his eyes, releasing a non-violent feeling into the air. Stipus removed his hand from his sword and sigh slightly under his breath. ¡°Come, we must get back to the kingdom.¡± He began to walk back toward the forest, notifying Draco to follow. ¡°How did you even get here old man?¡± Draco asked, walking slowly with the princess, his hand still tightly holding hers. ¡°How else? I rode my stallion here. It¡¯s the only place I thought you would go.¡± Draco scoffed. He looked to the edge of the forest and saw Stipus black stallion, grazing the grass slowly, while tied to a branch. ¡°You¡¯ve been here before?¡± Warmth asked quietly. ¡°It¡¯s where he learned to fly in his dragon form,¡± Stipus answered, sounding mighty proud of himself. Draco rolled his eyes and took his attention back to the stallion. He stopped in his tracks noticing that the horse had rose his head up, his ears perked up with alertness, and his eyes wide with fear. Draco pulled the princess to him closely, putting her head into his chest. Stipus turned to him, a puzzled look on his bald mug. The stallion reared up letting out a feared whinny which was more close to a scream. Stipus quickly looked and ran toward the stallion. ¡°Draco what¡¯s going on?¡± Warmth clung to him, fearing the sudden change in atmosphere. Draco looked down to her and shook his head unknowing of what was about to happen. A thunderous roar rose from the forest, making the trees shake. Draco¡¯s eyes widened, recognizing what they were about to face. He moved Warmth behind him and growled deeply, giving his opponent a strong warning to stay away. Just as Stipus rode over to them, giant black claws emerged from the trees. They were covered in scales and followed by the rest of the threatening creature. It was another dragon, a larger, more threatening creature then Draco was, which sent chills down Draco¡¯s spine. He felt Warmth tense up and freeze behind him. He swiftly grabbed her and propped her onto the back of Stipus saddle. ¡°Get out of here!¡± He yelled and slapped the butt of the horse. He went back to facing the larger, black dragon, whose eyes were piercing into Draco¡¯s soul. It let out a powerful growl and Draco snarled back.Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation. It charged toward him quickly, giving Draco no time to change at all. It let down it¡¯s head to bite down onto Draco, who quickly moved away from the attack, but was not prepared for the dragon to swipe it¡¯s claws at him. He let out a grunt as two of the claws caught his skin. Draco fell to his knees, the rival dragon letting out a rough chuckle. Draco growled staring into the scorching yellow eyes that laid on him. Then the dragon arched his neck, ready for the final attack. Draco tried to stand, tried to move, even a little but his torn back stung, and he could feel the blood seep down. Draco looked to the dragon, ¡°Come get me!¡± The dragon shot his head forward only for it to be met by a rock in it¡¯s eye. He let out a painful screech, becoming temporarily blinded. Draco looked to see Warmth, who was covered in dirt, as though she jump off the saddle and ran toward Draco. ¡°What are you doing?!¡± Warmth breathed heavily, and Draco could see her knees shake. ¡°I thought you needed some help,¡± she said nervously. ¡°I put you on that horse for a reason! Get out of here!¡± he snapped. But it was wasted, for as it left his lips, a black claw pinned her down. She let out a painful scream, almost bloodcurdling. Draco¡¯s eyes as he saw one claw pinned her shoulder down. Anger filled his chest, he felt it spreading through his body. He looked down at his hand and saw scales forming over it, out of his skin. He smirked and looked up devilishly. I¡¯m going to Rip You APART! He let out his most powerful bellow, getting the attention he needed. He spread his wings and snorted, showing he was ready to fight, to defend Warmth. The rival released Warmth, who laid holding her bleeding shoulder, and they ran at each other. Draco dug into his neck, and moved his claws to his wings, scratching and tearing. The rival used the claws at the end of his wings to try to claw Draco¡¯s eyes, but Draco had taken and pinned him to the ground. Teeth sunk into Draco¡¯s left hind leg and was being pulled, which made him sink his teeth further into the thick neck he held tightly. Draco began to twist, his instincts screaming to crush his rivals windpipe, as though this other dragon was his next prey. The teeth that held his hind leg moved into his thigh, getting closer and closer to Draco¡¯s tail. Draco could taste the blood pour like molten iron into his mouth. He could feel his rival¡¯s pulse slowing down, this fight was just about over. He moved his claws to the rival¡¯s stomach and tried to disembowel him. He growled loudly, powerfully. He saw the rival¡¯s scales start to fade into skin, as he began to turn. Draco released him as he became fully back to his human form, teeth marks covering his neck and claw marks on his chest, his eyes still brightly yellow. He bolted toward Warmth, dodging Draco¡¯s claws. Draco flew over and landed on top of Warmth, making sure no claws touched her precious body. He let his scales turn back as he hovered over the princess, becoming exposed once again. The two boys glared at each other, The rival had midnight black hair, and tanned skin, not to mention the wounds he had just got. He had his fist clenched, breathing heavily, either he was close to death or was panicking. ¡°Step away!¡± ¡°Make me!¡± Draco leaned down to Warmth, their bodies getting closer, her scent hypnotizing him. Not right now! He felt himself getting excited, but he controlled himself as much as he could. The other boy chuckled. ¡°You want to mate with her?! She¡¯s a human ruler. Nothing but filth.¡± He saw his eyes travel down her body. Draco growled and jumped at him, punching him as hard as he could. ¡°Watch your mouth scum!¡± Draco growled at him, still hovering over Warmth. She started to squirm, trying to wake up. Draco brushed her bangs out of her face. He looked at her shoulder, which was spreading blood on the ground. He looked at the rival. ¡°You¡¯re lucky you¡¯re not dead right now, don¡¯t push it.¡± ¡°You¡¯ll be killed before I!¡± he fell to his knees, he was feeling weak. ¡°She¡¯s a human. Their laws state you two shouldn¡¯t even be within wing distance of each other!¡± Warmth whined, she was in pain, and most likely going into shock. Draco didn¡¯t have time to deal with this low life, he needed to help Warmth. ¡°She¡¯ll be the cause of your death!¡± Draco¡¯s heart stopped for a second at those words. Then a tinge of anger filled him. He looked at the rival once again and tried to stand. ¡°Draco...¡± A hand grabbed his arm and stopped him. ¡°Draco...¡± Draco cradled Warmth in his arms as he stood, her shoulder bleeding in his hand. She was his weakness, that was certain, and most likely his downfall. But no matter what, he was going to protect her. Her chest was moving rapidly, yet her breath was faint. How could he stop this? Yes he had some healing abilities, but he was unsure whether they even would work on her, and also with an enemy less than 10 feet away, he didn¡¯t want to use them. The sound of horse hooves approached them. Stipus? Draco thought. He didn¡¯t want to take his attention away from Warmth, but he had to make sure it wasn¡¯t anymore of the kingdom¡¯s knights. As he looked he was relieved to see a rather bald, old man approach them. Draco looked to the other dragon and smirked as he tried his best to run away. Coward. Draco¡¯s attention went back to Warmth and the hand that held her shoulder. His eyes turned a brighter yellow as a red glow spread from his hand to her shoulder. It was working. The wound was closing and the blood was stopping. He sighed in relief when he finished and it was gone. He made Warmth look at him and smiled. She looked exhausted and somewhat scared. ¡°You better now?¡± ¡°Never.. let me do that again, please.¡± She smiled. Draco chuckled and placed his head on hers. Dracos family ¡°Yes your highness,¡± he teased. She stuck her tongue out at him, making him want to take it in his mouth. As he leaned in, he was sourly interrupted by a grunting noise of disappointment. He looked up to see Stipus sitting proudly on his horse. He let go of Warmth and smiled at her. ¡°Looks like it¡¯ll have to wait til next time.¡± She tilted her head, unaware of what Draco had planned to do to her. Oh and there was so much he wanted to do. Draco scowled and looked up where the other dragon had ran off. ¡°Should we worry about him?¡± Stipus grumbled. Warmth¡¯s hand touched Draco¡¯s chest, pushing him lightly. Warm.. Draco thought letting her back away. Her knees seemed to tremble and she seemed very unbalanced without him for support. ¡°Mr.Stipus, we must do something,¡± Warmth questioned as Draco put her arm on his shoulder, ¡°If word were to get out...¡± ¡°If I remember correctly, it¡¯s not forbidden in the dragon kingdom, my lady. A princess should know,¡± Stipus mentioned. Draco and Warmth both looked to him, shock in their eyes. ¡°It¡¯s only a human law, trying to prevent war and chaos.¡± Draco clenched his jaw. ¡°The war was years ago!¡± Warmth snapped. Draco knew of the war, Stipus told stories about it when Draco was young. He made them so less dangerous and gruesome back then, but Draco was able to wrap his head around them. ¡°And the dragons surrendered!¡± Stipus bit his lip. ¡°I¡¯m afraid whomever told you that was lying to you princess.¡± Warmth seemed to back up still hanging on to Draco. Stipus hopped off his horse and pet it¡¯s nose. ¡°I was young when the wars started, so I was forced into being a... soldier.¡± Draco sighed and shifted his feet, making sure he¡¯d be able to hold Warmth through this story time session. ¡°At first it wasn¡¯t against the dragon¡¯s kingdom. Actually quite the opposite, they were our allies. The dragon king actually was the leader of most of the recruits. We all had the same goals, the same enemies. We were so close to a victory, until...¡± ¡°Until?¡± Warmth asked. ¡°Until the beloved king released an attack on the dragon kingdom,¡± Draco regretted saying those words the minute they crawled out of his mouth. But he couldn¡¯t lie to her, especially if he wanted her this badly. She looked at him concerned. ¡°Wait... my dad?¡± Draco nodded, returning her concerned look, but for different reasons. Did you know this story is from Royal Road? Read the official version for free and support the author. ¡°Yes, our king, who at the time was new to the royal throne, issued an attack on the dragon kingdom. I think it was to expand our own kingdom, but sadly there were still civilized dragons at their homes...¡± Stipus and Draco exchanged sad expressions to each other. ¡°Including the queen.¡± Draco knew who else was caught in the attack, his real parents. They were slain, with no hesitation. Back then, he was not yet a hatchling, but not knowing, it stung. ¡°Since dragons can only have one mate in their lives, you can imagine how the king felt. Sadly he was the first to find her. And so the war was declared.¡± ¡°Did you still fight for my father?¡± Warmth asked sounding as though she was on the verge of tears. ¡°No at this time, my years of service had been used up, so I tried to stop it. I made a small group of humans and dragons who disagreed with the war. We went to the dragon kingdom, both the times I had been there before showed that it¡¯s beauty became tainted..¡± He scratched his head and rubbed his temples. ¡°Going to the king was not an easy task, he wouldn¡¯t change to his human form, actually refused it. I could see the pain he had, felt it as though it was my own pain. Anyway I asked if there was anything the humans could do to make things better, a treaty, anything. At first he declined our offer, saying that the humans will burn for the betrayal the king had caused. I kept pestering him, saying there had to be a way.¡± Draco looked to the princess, her eyes were full of worry, and she was hanging onto Draco¡¯s arm. He placed his hand on hers and gave a reassuring smile. ¡°Finally, the King listened to my plea and presented a speckled egg. He said that your father must care for the egg, raise the child as his own. ¡°My group rode back to the kingdom, telling your father about the agreement of the dragon king, a way to end the war. He refused.¡± ¡°Refused? Why?¡± Warmth asked, confused on her foolish father¡¯s decision. ¡°You were about to be born. The queen had announced that a princess would be coming into the world. The king didn¡¯t find it appropriate to raise a dragon and a princess together. I begged him to do something. The kingdoms were suffering, our kingdom was running out of resources, the dragon kingdom had suffered casualties. Our king decided to meet with the dragon king, if I attended it with him. They had decided that I would raise the hatchling as my own,¡± Warmth looked at Draco, her eyes wide, ¡°and a law would be made that dragons and royalty are never to meet, your father¡¯s decision once again.¡± Stripus walked over to Draco and put his hand on his shoulder. ¡°And I never would change that choice.¡± Draco looked up at him and smirked. ¡°That¡¯s touching Stripus,¡± Draco laughed as Stripus lightly slapped his face. His laughter was stopped by two warm arms wrapping around him. His heart skipped a beat when he noticed they were Warmth¡¯s. He looked at her, smelling her so closely it was going to intoxicate him again. ¡°I¡¯m happy Draco¡¯s here, that¡¯s for sure!¡± she smiled. Stripus sighed making Draco look at him.
