《The Strongest Soul》 Prologue The world is filled with malicious people. People that cause chaos, ensue destruction, not just of the environment, but of everything; society, social circles, the mind. But, the world is a small place. It wouldn¡¯t nearly have any influence in the universe. But what if the whole universe were corrupted? If out of hundreds of universes, there were a few that were deemed unsafe for people to travel to, or to even mention in a sentence? One such universe is called Fiendbringer Greaterworld. This universe is in control of reinforcing armies of great power and will. To do this they commit heinous experiments and trials in order to find a suitable person to join the army. These experiments and trials involve young children and work to slowly make these children ruthless powerful warriors that will obey every single order given to them. For countless years this has occurred and proven to be effective for the Fiendbringer Greaterworld, thus they continued this for years and years. The experiments and trials spread throughout the universe into the various planets. Many children were forced to participate in these trials and were made into warriors without their own will. Stolen story; please report. In the planet called Phlegethon, it was always night time. It was always cold on this planet yet it was covered in forests. Most of the planet was made of land while a small portion of the planet held water. It was a place where many beasts roamed in search of food to survive. Yet, these beasts also had to compete with the humans that lived there as well. In a certain part of the world, a new trial was being held to recruit more troops for the army for the Fiendbringer Greaterworld. Hundreds of children were standing around looking at a powerful figure in front of them speaking, telling them about the trial. Basically, they had to survive by themselves for three months. Nobody would be there to help them survive and if they died¡ oh well. In truth, this trial was actually a pretty safe one considering that they had a better chance at surviving. One child was sitting on the ground crying out while the figure spoke his words. Plenty of other children were following him in crying as well. This child wore black furs and had red hair and red eyes. He was weeping because he was taken from his family and sent to this foreign place to die. He was a weak child and knew that he would perish out here, never to see his family again. This child¡¯s name was Kain. He was a timid 7 year old child that looked frail and weak. He sat and cried for hours, even after the powerful figure had left. Many other children surrounded him as they sat and cried too. However, after those few hours of crying his mind changed. He knew that he wanted to see his family again, and to do that he had to survive. He hated the fact that he was weak enough to be forced here. He hated how he was weak to the point that he would have to struggle to survive. He hated himself for being so weak minded and crying for hours. Kain lifted his head up, his face still soft and wet from his tears earlier, he stood up and vowed to himself to survive no matter what he had to do. He would make it back to his family and then¡ get revenge on the people who forced him into this situation! Chapter 1: Fiend Soul Awakening Trial Kain stood near the middle of a large crowd of children in the middle of the night. There were hundreds of children standing around. Most of these children had been forcibly taken from their families while a small number had voluntarily gone. Either way all of these children came to the same place in the clearing of a large forest. They all waited there and as time passed more and more children arrived and were thrown into the crowd of children by powerful figures. After about another hour or so a booming voice resounded in the ears of the children. ¡°Children of Phlegethon! I am Darkdrop the overseer for the trial on this planet. All of you we saw as having potential in becoming soldiers in our army. Now none of you may know about this since the last time we were at this planet was thousands of years ago but we recruit young children like you to fight for our army. You have the opportunity of becoming powerful beings in war and unrivalled in the world. This trial is called the Fiend Soul Awakening Trial. This trial will have you awaken your souls and then test you to see how powerful you are. If you can pass the trial then you will be recruited into the army where you will serve for the rest of your lives. However, if you fail, you have the chance of dying. You have no choice of if you want to participate or not as if you are here you have to go through with it.¡± Darkdrop looked around at his subordinates and nodded his head. The hundreds of subordinates then began to fly around the children until they formed a circle around them. They all then flashed the same incantation gesture and pointed to a single point in the air in the center of the crowd of children.Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! A blast of countless different colors of light flashed at that single point and it began to grow in size. After a bit of time it grew to a large enough size to cover over the whole crowd of children. From their perspective it looked as if a large circle of different flashing lights was hanging over their heads. The circle of lights then flashed brightly, temporarily blinding the children and causing them to pass out. The circle of light then began to descend unto the hundreds of children causing an aura of different lights to cover them. That aura of light stayed over them while they were unconscious. Kain saw the flash of light and then passed out as well along with the other children. He soon found himself in a dark place that was cold and lonely. Within that dark place there was only a single light. However, it was hard to see because it was a black light. The only reason Kain saw it was because that light sort of twinkled in his heart. It was as if he couldn¡¯t really see the black light but actually feel it. It soothed and warmed his heart in this otherwise desolate and cold place. Kain felt as if he could connect with that light. Kain tried to reach out with his hand but found that it was transparent. He then stood up and looked back to see his body sitting there still. He was amazed to see this and stood there dumbfounded. Then he realized that he was looking at his own body and suddenly he looked at the body he was in now. However, he found that it looked exactly like his own body but just transparent. After a bit more time he stopped observing his body and walked toward the black light. As he got closer he found himself becoming less and less transparent. All of a sudden the black light trembled and then shot forward towards Kain¡¯s body where it flew into his semi-transparent body. Kain¡¯s transparent body started to turn black as if rotting at a fast speed. A voice then rang in his head. ¡°Return to your physical body as fast as possible or you¡¯ll die.¡± Then it went silent. Kain found himself shocked and immediately tried to rush to his body only to find himself no longer able to move. ¡°Ah! Noo!¡± He screamed. Chapter 2: End of the Trial Kain¡¯s heart clenched severely as fear swelled up within him. He couldn¡¯t exactly comprehend how bad death was but he knew that it would be terrible for him. He was only 7 years old at the moment. As soon as the voice finished speaking, Kain, almost instinctively, started to rush toward his body. But he found that he couldn¡¯t move anywhere. His fear rose to new heights, to a point that he had never felt so much fear before in his life. If this was his true body he would have long since pissed his ragged torn pants. Kain screamed aloud trying to force himself to move but nothing worked for him. He couldn¡¯t even move his own eyelids let alone his whole body. Kain didn¡¯t know how much time he had but he figured once his whole body turned black he would die. His body turning black wasn¡¯t the least bit painful for him, it felt like a warm feeling for him. But Kain wasn¡¯t thinking about that warm feeling as he tried everything he could to move toward his own body. ¡°Come on come on please! I have to live to get back to my family! Please just move body!¡± Kain started to cry as he realized that he couldn¡¯t move at all. Tears swelled up and ran down on the sides of his face as he cried out for his body to move. But he didn¡¯t give up, he constantly tried to move his body for the slim chance that it might go forward. ¡®I won¡¯t give up! These people took me from my home just to make me fight. I¡¯ll pay them back for this! I swear, just let me get out of here and live!¡± Kain continued to cry out as he pushed himself to the limit attempting to force himself to move forward even a tiny bit. All of a sudden Kain felt his body go cold as if it were freezing. His body shivered and it turned completely black. His mind started to go blank and his eyes went dim. But even as it did that he pushed himself forward. ¡°Noo! No! I won¡¯t give up please just move!¡± He cried out furiously. Then his world went completely black. Only then did his body slowly fall to the ground¡ dead.Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. Outside the spectators and Darkdrop watched as the light surrounding some of the children dimmed and then went out. As that happened they shook their heads. Darkdrop watched as Kain¡¯s light went out and then said, ¡°How many is that?¡± ¡°That makes seventy-three dead.¡± A voice filled with respect replied. Darkdrop simply nodded his head. Then his head suddenly turned in the direction of a child who¡¯s purple light went bright and converged within his body. Then that child opened their eyes and looked around wearily and tired. Darkdrop laughed out and then pointed at that child. ¡°That makes the first child! Bring him here and start the recruiting process immediately.¡± Darkdrop was obviously happy at the moment. ¡°And get him in the training to be a general. The first children to wake are usually the most talented and have the most drive to survive. They are perfect for the general position.¡± Almost as soon as Darkdrop¡¯s words fell someone flew over to the child and brought him over. The child was confused but soon fell back to sleep unconscious. This trial had a lot of mental strain on children and it was very normal for them to become unconscious again. The trial continued on with more deaths piling up. Darkdrop¡¯s assistant continued to call out the number when asked for. His number kept on increasing and increasing. ¡°One hundred twenty-two.¡± ¡°Two hundred eighty-one.¡± ¡°Three hundred forty-nine.¡± However, there was also those who woke up and made Darkdrop¡¯s face go wild with joy. For each child that awoke he would be awarded. The longer the trial went the more likely a child would wake up as well. That was why the children that died would slowly decrease towards the end. ¡°Eight hundred thirty-four deaths.¡± Darkdrop¡¯s assistant called out respectfully. That was final number of deaths. This was all the children that had died in this trial, all of the children that would never again be able to see their parents. Darkdrop simply nodded his head. His face showed no care for the dead only disdain. However when he thought about the children that had lived his face showed anticipation. ¡°Let¡¯s go.¡± He didn¡¯t even want to waste time picking up the bodies of the dead children. He simply let them rot there until their bodies disappeared. With that, all of the three hundred eleven children that survived were led to another planet far off in the distance to start their new lives as soldiers. The place was quickly cleared and soon only the bodies of the dead children remained. Chapter 3: First Sound The dead bodies of the children laid in the dark forest waiting for the beasts in the area to consume them. However, one body suddenly jolted up and looked around in confusion. His eyes were pitch black, almost like a demon had possessed him. However, after a bit of time looking around and blinking, his eyes went back to normal. A black aura swirled around him but that too went away. Slowly, this child got up and saw that he was surrounded by many many dead bodies. Seeing as he was the only one alive right now, he came to the idea that the Darkdrop guy thought he was dead¡ or maybe he was dead. Shivers went down his spine and he started to walk around, hoping to find anybody out in this dark forest. The darkness didn¡¯t bother him, as he was used to it since it was always dark on this planet. What did make him scared was the fact that he was in foreign place and didn¡¯t know what to do or where to go. He knew there were beasts in the area since every place on this planet contained beasts so he wanted to be quiet. He didn¡¯t dare to yell out in search of anybody here. He walked around aimlessly, but made sure to follow a straight path in case he got lost and would have to turn back. He walked for what seemed like forever to him. Time seemed to go on for a long time, minutes turned to hours and hours turned into days. He was starving by now, his ribs could be seen under his torn ragged clothes. He had been lucky so far in not encountering any beasts. They were probably all drawn in the direction of the decaying children who laid on the ground. All this child could think about was seeing his family again, whether they still remembered him, if they would even take him back. Thoughts of giving up rose within his mind but he pushed them aside and continued on nonetheless.Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author. Report any sightings. He had pushed on before to live, so why would he give up now? This crossed his mind many times when he thought about stopping to rest. So he just kept on walking without a destination. He hoped to get somewhere, reach someone, but what he most hoped for was to live to see his family. This was the sole reason he kept on walking forward. Grrrr! His stomach gurgled but this was a sound that he had heard countless times already for who knew how long. He had already lost count of how long he had been walking around. His vision was blurry, he was extremely cold, and his bones could be seen through his skin. He was in a very sorry state at the moment. But after so many days of being like this, it didn¡¯t even bother him anymore. All he did was keep walking in pursuit of finding any kind of hope. Any kind of situation that would let all his hard work pay off. Grrrr! Another sound came but this time instead of continuing to walk, he stopped in place and looked ahead of him. Although his vision was blurry he was able to make out the image of a wolf ahead of him. It had pitch black fur and bright yellow eyes that pierced through the night. It growled once more and pounced toward the child. The child didn¡¯t look to even bother dodging. That was because he had run out of any kind of energy to do anything other than walk. The wolf knocked him down to the ground easily. Riiip! The wolf bit into his arm and tore it up just as easily. The little blood that the child had left trickled out and was consumed by the wolf. The wolf continued to chew and tear. ¡°AAAHHH!¡± A bloodcurdling, ear piercing cry rang out. This was the first sound this child made since waking up. Chapter 4: Run ¡°AAAHH!¡± He let out another heart wrenching scream that pierced through the souls of all who heard it. Even the wolf seemed to sense the pain that this child was in. Although it felt bad, it didn¡¯t stop eating this child alive. It was hungry after all, and food was very hard to come by on this dark planet. Soon, the child stopped screaming. He wasn¡¯t dead however, he just couldn¡¯t feel the pain anymore. The wolf had completely ate a chunk of his abdomen and was now working on his arm. It was a gruesome scene to anybody who happened upon it. Blood washed over the wolf¡¯s mouth and the child was looking at the whole thing happen to him. ¡®Is it over? Will I really not be able to see my family? Then why did I wake up? Was it for nothing?¡¯ The child asked himself these questions. Then his eyes started to glow a bit brighter. ¡°I¡ won¡¯t¡ die¡¡± He managed to barely squeeze out a few words from his mouth. With all the force and strength he could muster he raised his uneaten arm toward the wolf. He weakly put his hand on the wolf¡¯s head and tried to push away. It was so weak that the wolf didn¡¯t even notice it at first. ¡°Get¡ a¡ away¡¡± He somehow said weakly. The wolf heard a noise and looked up, then it felt the blood from the child drip down its face. It snarled and bit his fingers. The child now only had his thumb left as the rest of his fingers were now gone. Blood squirted out and landed on the wolf¡¯s face. It just simply licked its face and continued on ripping and chewing on the child¡¯s body. This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it. ¡°Humph. You do have some drive after all. I was thinking that you had only given your all back then, but it seems that you can push yourself. And I was beginning to think that you were going to end up dying again. I¡¯ll help you out this once.¡± The child began to glow with a black light and all of a sudden the wolf went stiff. Then it started to turn into black light. It¡¯s fur, eyes, paws, belly, head¡ all of it began to turn into black light. That black light then shot toward the child and bore into him. In the blink of an eye the child was completely healed. His injuries, whether serious or light, were completely gone. His energy, which had been fully drained was now at its peak. The child was all alone and the wolf that had been there before, had completely disappeared. The child looked out in disbelief and shock. What had just happened? This was the question that popped into his head at the moment. ¡®I¡¯m saved! I can see my family now!¡¯ After experiencing this traumatic event this was still all this child could think about. ¡°Your name is Kain, right?¡± A sudden voice popped into the child¡¯s mind again. The suddenness of it made the child jump. ¡°Relax, I won¡¯t hurt you. I can¡¯t even hurt you. I¡¯ll explain things clearly in words that you will be able to understand. First thing first, I am your soul. Second thing second, we should get out of this place because more beasts are coming. They¡¯ve actually been following that wolf before but now they have your scent. There is a town a few kilometers ahead if you just go straight.¡± Kain was at a loss of what was happening right now. All of these sudden events were too much for his 7 year old mind to handle. He didn¡¯t know what to do as of this moment. ¡°Maybe you didn¡¯t understand me the first time¡ RUN!¡± The voice resounded in his head again. Only then did Kain come to his senses. He heard a soft growl in the distance behind him and he began to sprint forward no longer caring about the situation. He didn¡¯t know if there was a town ahead but he had nowhere else better to go. Chapter 5: Guaranteed Death The growls and snarls of beasts kept resounding behind Kain as he dashed with all he had forward. Even though he was going at his fastest possible speed the low roars seemed to be getting closer and closer. It was as if death was counting down for him. Kain had a bit of endurance since he lived on this planet and had to survive day to day. Therefore he wasn¡¯t immediately caught by whatever beast was chasing him at the moment. However, even though he had some endurance, that didn¡¯t mean he had the speed to get away. About half a kilometer into the run, Kain could hear the heavy sound of paws slamming into the hard ground and dead leaves that were littered about. Although he didn¡¯t want to, his body instinctively turned his head slightly behind him to look at what was chasing him. As soon as he caught sight of what was behind him, Kain¡¯s pupils severely constricted and he quickly turned his head back and shot forward with even greater speed that came out of nowhere. His heart was fiercely palpitating with fear and his chest became drenched with cold sweat. He saw a large two headed black wolf about five hundred meters behind him. It was so large that Kain could make it out even though it was so far behind him. It had vicious saber teeth and claws that sunk into the ground and ripped the earth apart. Everywhere it passed by trees would surely fall to the ground. The forest couldn¡¯t possibly resist against a beast of this size and stature. Stolen story; please report. As soon as this beast saw Kain turn to look at it, its crimson eyes focused heavily on his body and it let out a ear piercing roar that caused the ground to tremble. The roar caused Kain to cough up a mouthful of blood. His face went pale and his heart clenched tightly. The sight of the beast alone didn¡¯t make Kain feel like this but when he looked into those crimson eyes he saw multiple terrible visions. In one vision he saw the two headed wolf rip him apart, one head having the upper half of him and the other head having the lower half. In another vision he saw the wolf piercing through his body with its claws and while it slowly gnawed on him until he died from blood loss and pain. Kain saw many visions but they all ended in the same way... death. The result of seeing countless visions of his own self dying in multiple horrible ways made Kain feel hopeless, as if running away would get him nowhere. Fear gripped his heart and he couldn¡¯t help but slow down his pace. In his mind he was thinking he had some hope of running away, but his body didn¡¯t think he had even a slim chance. Soon, Kain stopped running. In fact he stopped moving completely. He turned around and watched as the large two headed wolf slowed its pace down and trotted along toward him. It was as if it knew that it had Kain hooked and therefore didn¡¯t need to expend too much energy. Kain felt as if his life was now over, as if all of the work and pain that he went through was for nothing. He wouldn¡¯t be able to live after this. He wouldn¡¯t be able to figure out what that soul thingy was talking about. And he wouldn¡¯t be able to see his family. Wait! At this thought Kain¡¯s eyes became cold. His only wish was to see his family. He had worked hard just to do that and now he was going to give up? Just like that? No. The large two headed wolf soon was upon Kain. Kain looked coldly at the wolf and its crimson eyes. As he looked in the eyes he would constantly see new visions of him dying horrible deaths at the hands of this beast. He stood there watching the visions as he was¡ swallowed up by the beast. Chapter 6: Guillotine Slice Kain found himself inside of a dark murky place. The large two headed wolf had actually swallowed him whole. Its saber teeth made it so that it couldn¡¯t chew and Kain was so small compared to the beast that it couldn¡¯t use its second head to rip him apart. This way of eating was normal for the beast actually so it didn¡¯t make it any difference. It would just wait until its prey was either dying from being digested or suffocated or drowned. Kain suddenly jerked and punched out with his hand toward a nearby ¡®wall¡¯. Then he punched again and again. He even threw in some kicks and headbutts. He was struggling until he could internally injure this beast. He knew he wasn¡¯t a match for the beast on the outside and the only chance he had was to defeat the beast on the inside. This was something that was passed down as knowledge around this planet. If a large beast you couldn¡¯t escape from started chasing you, take the chance to be swallowed whole and beat it from the inside. It was basically considered general knowledge on this planet. So that was the approach Kain had taken to fight back against this beast. Kain took everything he had to injure this large beast. But no matter what he did it seemed as if the beast could just shrug off his attacks as if they were nothing. After his soul awakened, Kain¡¯s strength, speed, agility, potential, and everything about him improved. For his age he was actually immensely stronger than many adults. But even with that increase in strength, it wasn¡¯t enough to shake this beast. Kain continued to sink further down into the stomach of this beast. He fought relentlessly and didn¡¯t stop raining down blows. He continuously punched, kicked, and headbutted the beast from the inside in an attempt to injure it.Support the creativity of authors by visiting Royal Road for this novel and more. ¡°That¡¯s a pretty nice strategy you have there. Unfortunately, you aren¡¯t actually strong enough to shake a creature of this strength yet. I like your drive kid, I really do. You really remind me of my master when he¡¡± The soul stopped speaking before continuing on with a different train of thought. ¡°Anyways, there might be a way for you to escape this beast if you¡¯re talented enough. I¡¯ll show you a technique and if you¡¯re able to do it, you should be able to carve your way through this beast. I¡¯ll guide the energy through your body while I transmit the technique to you. For now, keep on attacking.¡± The soul stopped talking as a wave of gentle energy washed through Kain¡¯s body. A simple technique appeared within his mind. It was being demonstrated by a figure in crimson furs and crimson eyes. Every movement he did was simple and to the point. The figure raised a hand into the air and then swept it down with a shockingly fast speed. It was akin to a scythe slicing through the air. The technique replayed itself in his mind three times before Kain was able to get the name of this technique. Kain stopped raining down blows and coldly raised his hand into the air. His energy was being guided by the soul and a black light was converging upon his hand. With a swipe of his hand Kain swept down with a lightning fast strike. Guillotine Slice! This strike was meant to slice through everything. Meant to create a path for one¡¯s self no matter what was in the way. It was a simple strike but it was very profound. Kain didn¡¯t even understand it, all he did was copy the movements and followed the intent. That wave of his hand caused the beast to let out a furious roar. Blood gushed out of the wound within the beast and splashed on the face and body of Kain. This strike left a deep gash in the beast but it couldn¡¯t do anything to fight back. Kain kept on repeatedly using this strike in an attempt to kill the beast. Soon he managed to find the heart and sliced right through it. The beast shuddered and then went limp as it died. Black light enveloped the beast and soon the whole beast disappeared without a trace. Kain was left standing there with a cold face. He had experienced too much and it had changed him mentally. In front of him he could see the light of a distant village up ahead. Chapter 7: Captured Without even thinking about cleaning the blood off of his body, Kain headed straight for the village. It wasn¡¯t Kain¡¯s first time killing a beast as living on this planet made everyone virtually a killer in some shape or form. But it was his first time killing such a strong beast. Even in the most powerful of towns in this planet, that beast would be considered a nightmare. This beast was known as the Two-headed Reaper Wolf. If you looked into its eyes, you would be faced with multiple visions and images of your own death. All of these visions and images would be gruesome to see and would cause mental trauma to most who saw them. Kain was no exception as he kept having flashbacks to his ¡°deaths¡± that happened. He trudged on toward the village in order to rest there. He kept hearing howls behind him. They were the other wolves that had been following under the Two-headed Reaper Wolf. Although their leader was gone, their hunger was not. They were a considerable distance away but they would quickly set their eyes on Kain¡¯s body if he didn¡¯t hurry up. The mental strain on Kain was too much however and his vision kept on swimming and going dark at times. He coughed up a mouthful of blood before falling to a knee. He clenched his teeth and got back up to walk again. He forced himself to keep on walking. ¡®I have to make it back to my family. They need to be protected and with this strength of mine we can prosper and live a peaceful life together. I can maybe even teach them so that they can live peacefully on their own.¡¯ Kain thought to himself as he walked slowly along. If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. But it was in this moment that his mind succumbed to the mental strain that he was working through. His eyes went blank in an instant and he collapsed to the ground with a thud. He was still conscious but he couldn¡¯t move his body anymore. His vision was pitch black but he could hear faint noises of howls in the background. It was hard to discern but it also sounded like human howling as well. Soon he passed out from the strain on his mind. ¡ ¡®Oww¡ What is this? Where am I?¡¯ Kain thought to himself. His vision was still dark but he could tell that it was gradually getting brighter. Soon he was able to see that he was in a room laying down on a bed. His head was filled with sharp pain and he occasionally got an image or vision of his death. This time he was drowning in a pool of blood that came from his throat being slit open. Kain managed to open his eyes fully and could finally see where he was. It was a dark room that was filled with many different objects. Some of them sharp some of them dull but all of them rusted. They were all made from a cheap metal of some kind and either hung on the wall or on the floor. Kain looked out the corner of his eye and found that there was a table with more tools on it. It was at this point that Kain found out that he was laying on a really cold bed and that it was hard. He tried to move to find out why but found out that he was restrained by some kind of rope. His eyes went wide as he struggled to free himself from these restraints but to no avail. He laid there huffing thinking of ways of how he could escape when suddenly somebody walked in. Thud. Thud. Thud. The sounds of the footsteps obviously proved that this person was wearing heavy boots. Soon the person stopped in place. ¡°How nice¡ Now we can begin.¡± Kain couldn¡¯t see this person but he could feel the eyes of that person survey his body from head to toe. It made for a real creepy feeling for him. But he also felt a real sense of danger arising within him. Chapter 8: Dissection ¡°Your skin is soft and delicate. Your teeth are still there. Your hair is gorgeous. Your eyes are big and round. You¡¯re just the perfect specimen¡ to cut up and dissect from the outside to the inside.¡± The person that spoke had a soft voice and was clearly a young woman. Although the voice was soft and warm, Kain couldn¡¯t help but shudder when he heard the words being spoken. This woman obviously had mental problems and was about to try to kill him right now. Thud. Thud. Thud. The woman walked closer to Kain with each step. On the way she stopped by a wall and lit up a torch. The fire was somehow still dim and barely made anything visible. But it was still enough to make out the features of the woman who was in the room with him. She wore black clothes that covered all of her skin. Her eyes were a deep jade green and her hair was black and frizzled. Her appearance looked young, only about in her mid twenties, but the scar on her throat made her look fierce instead of beautiful. The woman then walked over to a nearby table and picked up what looked to be a rusted scalpel. She looked deeply all over the scalpel as if inspecting every bit of it, then she walked over to a corner in the room. In the corner there was a little setup that consisted of a round stone and a chair. She sat in the chair and put her foot on a pedal. This got the stone moving around. Putting the scalpel against the moving stone, a scraping noise started to resound. Clearly, she was sharpening her tool. Kain watched all of this happen with fear in his eyes. She was actually planning on cutting him up! ¡®I have to get out of this place and make my way home!¡¯ Kain tried to struggle some more out of the ropes but still couldn¡¯t manage to break free even with his increased strength. ¡®What kind of ropes are these?¡¯ While the woman was sharpening her scalpel she spoke. ¡°You can¡¯t escape from those ropes. They were made from a powerful expert long ago and passed down in my family. Not even the Two-headed Reaper Wolf can break free from those ropes if it was ever tied up, let alone you. Just sit tight and wait until I get there.¡± A wicked smile played across her face while she continued to sharpen her scalpel. Occasionally stopping to look at the tool and then continuing on. A few minutes passed with only the sound of scraping being heard. The woman stood up from the chair and then made her way over to Kain. She walked slowly and heavily. Once she made it to his side she looked down upon his body. Her eyes seemed to be filled with lust as she looked over every inch of his body. His skin was completely bare and it looked completely flawless. Living on this planet, that was only possible if you were just born. Never was it seen that someone his age could have flawless skin. ¡°Amazing. You have to be around 7 or 8 years old yet your skin is absolutely perfect. Not only that, but you were just being chased by wolves and you don¡¯t have a scratch on you.¡± The woman tapped on Kain¡¯s skin a couple of times and inspected it thoroughly. Kain could do little more than just look around and go through with what she was doing to him. Finally he felt her stop touching him. She moved to the side of him and bent over to look at his arm.Stolen novel; please report. ¡°How interesting.¡± She kept on repeating. Finally she grabbed onto his forearm and stroked it up and down. She then stopped when she felt something and picked up her scalpel and rested it on his skin. ¡°Right here should do.¡± She pressed down with the scalpel and made a slicing motion. Kain took in a deep breath and prepared for the cutting to begin. But after a moment¡ªnothing happened. He looked over to see that the woman was frowning and that her brows were furrowed. ¡°His skin is tough: A lot tougher than I thought. How can it be so soft and flawless yet also be so resilient?¡± The woman spoke to herself as she exited the room. Kain just laid there. ¡®Is my skin really that tough? She wasn¡¯t able to cut into me at all.¡¯ He mused to himself for a moment until the sound of heavy boots entered his ears once more. This time, an additional pair of boots could be heard. They sounded heavier than the womans. ¡°I¡¯m telling you that his skin is abnormally tough. I¡¯m not able to cut through it at all, even when I sharpened my scalpel. It¡¯s as soft as a newborn but as tough as stone.¡± The woman could be heard explaining her predicament. ¡°I¡¯ll see for myself.¡± A heavy deep voice resounded just behind her. Kain could easily tell that this man was older than her by more than a few years. The two stopped beside Kain¡¯s body as the man took his time inspecting it. He tapped on the skin a few times and even plucked at it. He rubbed his hand along Kain¡¯s body at some points and even let it rest at others. By his movements, Kain could tell he was much more skilled than the woman. ¡®Just what are they trying to do to me? Who are these people?¡¯ Kain thought to himself. When he saw the man pick up the scalpel he just hoped that it wouldn¡¯t be able to pierce his skin just like it had with the woman. The man walked around Kain¡¯s body until he reached the side of his arm. Rubbing his hand along the forearm he stopped and pressed down with his hand. The man bent down toward the arm and looked closely at it for a moment. Kain could finally get a view of the man¡¯s face. He had black hair and a full black beard. Gray¡¯s could be seen sparsely mixed in with the black hair though. He had soft wrinkles on his forehead and on his hand. His other hand was gloved up and covered along with the rest of his body. He wore a half mask on his face that only covered his mouth and nose so his jade green eyes could be seen easily. From the appearance, one could tell that the woman and the man were related. Finally, the man put the scalpel against Kain¡¯s arm. He didn¡¯t push down immediately though as he seemed to be thinking of something. After a moment though he pushed down anyways. Just like before, nothing happened. In fact, the scalpel actually broke apart instead! The man stood back up and grabbed his chin as if contemplating something. ¡°Hmm. I see now. Fetch me the Demon Scalpel.¡± The man said calmly. But if you listened closely one could hear the anxious feelings in his voice rising up slightly. Kain got extremely nervous all of a sudden. If at first his mind was like he heard thunder in the distance, then now it was like he was standing in the middle of a fierce lightning storm and could be struck at any moment. The woman quickly left and then returned. She handed over a small tool to the man and then backed away. The man held the tool in his hand and looked at it warmly. It looked just like a regular scalpel except the blade was azure in color. Even in the dim light the blade shined with a radiant azure. The man put the Demon Scalpel on Kain¡¯s skin. ¡°Let¡¯s see how you stand up to this.¡± With practiced movements the man made a quick swipe of his hand pressing down onto Kain¡¯s arm with the scalpel. This simple motion surprisingly didn¡¯t cut his arm at all! ¡°What? It¡¯s still not able to cut into him? How can this be?¡± The man was utterly surprised by this turn of events. This was the best blade that they had in this place. It was even able to cut the skin of many beasts and even some rocks, let alone human skin. This kind of situation was just impossible to imagine happening. Kain on the other hand breathed a huge sigh of relief in his mind. Now, no longer worried about being tested on, he started to think of ways to escape this dreadful place.
