《Dungeon Lord chronicles》 Chapter 1: Dungeon Lord I woke up and found myself in a gloomy stone room illuminated by candles. When I looked on the ground, a magic formation shone a pale light. ¡°Where am I? What is this place?¡± I stood up and restlessly looked around. There wasn¡¯t anything of note in the room that I could see. ¡°Who am I, why don¡¯t I remember?¡± I muttered so. I couldn¡¯t remember anything, not even know my own name. Greatly perplexed, I desperately searched through my memories for clues but nothing came up, I couldn¡¯t help but worry at this sudden turn of events.While I was lost in thought, *clunk*. When I looked in the direction it came from, a woman was there. An extraordinarily beautiful woman with white skin and brown hair. And also, a pair of eagle wings and a lion''s tail. She wasn¡¯t just beautiful, she also had this ominous aura surrounding her. An overwhelming presence enough to freeze the soul of anyone that dared look at her. ¡°Geez, finally, you¡¯re born. I was getting tired of waiting.¡± Her words were short but in it, there was a hidden sense of joy and sadness. Although I was fascinated by her, I mustered up my courage and spoke. ¡°Who, who, who are you? Where is this place and Who am I?¡± The beautiful eagle-girl listened to my questions and then revealed a thin smile, she then started to talk. ¡°Well, calm down for a bit, I am the [animal] Dungeon Lord, Lightcrest. Since you¡¯re kinda someone special, I¡¯ll let you call me, no wait, never mind, that¡¯s actually worse, just call me lightcrest.¡± ¡°lightcrest¡­ lightcrest, do you know, do you know who I am?¡± ¡°Of course, I know who you are. You¡¯re the newly born Dungeon Lord. A Dungeon Lord just like me.¡± lightcrest¡¯s shadow suddenly stretched. And from it, a grey wolf appeared. With the same ferocity it had when it first jumped out of the shadow, it lunged towards me ¡°The rank D monster, G¨¦vaudan wolf. It¡¯s a vicious monster that devours normal human¡¯s in an instant. I curious, what¡¯ll happen when I send it to attack you.¡± My eyes opened wide in shock, barely having time to process what she said, the wolf also opened his mouth with the intent to bite, tear and swallow me. Naturally, I backed away. I honestly wanted to run away but my legs wouldn¡¯t respond, unable to take a single step. The grey wolf rapidly shortened the distance. ¡°Hiii!¡± It was almost upon me. I hurriedly rolled to avoid the G¨¦vaudan wolf¡¯s charge. An instance after I dodged it, a high-pitched clinking sound was made. It was the terrifying sound of teeth striking teeth. Had I not been able to avoid it, those sharp teeth would have torn my body to bits without opposition. The G¨¦vaudan wolf once again faced me, preparing to rush in my direction. I fell down from fear and couldn¡¯t get up, if I stayed Like that, I would have certainly died. The wolf was drooling as he glared towards me, it dove in. I¡¯m going to be killed, seriously, I¡¯m going to be killed, No, I don¡¯t want to die, am I just going to grit my teeth and accept this, this fact that I''m going to die? It felt like I was supposed to always be in the air floating and flying. I started to fly around, seeing if I could move instead of just go up and down and I could, I calmed down even further. My heart was still on fire but my mind was like a calm ocean, I muttered another word unconsciously. ¡°[Lightning]¡± The air behind me started to change, dark ominous clouds started to gather behind me, the roar of lightning soon descended, I knew it was ready. The G¨¦vaudan wolf wasn''t intimidated, it leapt up but it couldn¡¯t even get a quatre of the way to me. I stared at it and placed it under my sights. I pointed my finger at it then fire three consecutive shots.lightning descended, to better penetrate the wolf, I aimed it between the wolf¡¯s brows. The lightning sent the wolf flying, raising a shriek. Then, it slammed into the ground. ¡°*Yelp *,*yelp *,*yelp*¡± That surprised me. The Wolf received lightning to the head and yet it still lives. In spite of the electricity still flowing within its head and all the charred fur, the G¨¦vaudan wolf was still glaring at me. I still stared down, slowly descending towards it with care. While towering over the G¨¦vaudan wolf, I tried to fire lightning at it continuously, but for some reason, I couldn¡¯t, instead, another word came to mindUnauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings. ¡°[Rain]¡± rain started to fall, it fell on the G¨¦vaudan wolf. with terrifying force, like small meteors falling from the sky, it crushed the G¨¦vaudan wolf. ¡°Haa, Haa, Haa, Haa.¡± Immediately after the threat had passed, the dread immediately returned to me. What the? What did I, what did I do, how was that even possible? The answer suddenly appeared in my mind. ¡ºUnique Skill: [Sky] This skill gives the power of flight and the manipulation of the sky itself, it gains power the closer one is to the sky, it also allows for the materialisation of certain attributes of the sky depending on how high in the atmosphere the wielder is. The consumption of MP is dependent on the attributes used and the manipulation but free for simple flight.¡» Huh, Unique Skill, what in the world is that? ¡°First, congratulations on passing my little test, I didn¡¯t actually think you would be able to kill a G¨¦vaudan wolf. You were able to draw out your unique power, that normally takes a day or two, anyway I welcome you new Dungeon Lord.¡± ¡°Dungeon Lord?¡± ¡°Yes, a Dungeon Lord. You are someone who creates and rules over all monsters and demons; someone who will build and reigns over malicious dungeons; someone chose to wield an overwhelmingly powerful Unique Skill. You¡¯re the 796th to be born in this world, the newest Dungeon Lord.¡± A Dungeon Lord. is that what I am now. I¡¯m not sure what to truly feel about all this. ¡°Sigh, Can you please not make such a worrying face like that? Until you can truly stand on your own which should be in about a year, I will be your ¡®Parent¡¯. I¡¯m going to teach you what a Dungeon Lord truly is.¡± The woman smiles. With what feels like no memories, my new life has begun. ¡°I see, you¡¯re still confused, aren¡¯t you. I guess just by calling you a Dungeon Lord, you won¡¯t immediately get what all of it means. I guess that It can¡¯t be helped, I¡¯ll show you what a Demon Lord is and what they can do.¡± She smiled and then turned her back towards me. I followed after the [animal] Dungeon Lord Lightcrest. Despite her appearance of being a simple brown-haired beauty (with eagles wings and a lion''s tail), there was something about her that made me believe she¡¯s truly a Dungeon Lord. She led me into a small room. I looked at the mirror leaning against the wall, there was a reasonably goo looking boy just about to start his teens. Was that really me? I, while looking at this felt strangely out of place. And, lying in the centre of the room was a stone pedestal with a floating round crystal on it. I for some reason tried to secretly reach for the crystal, Lightcrest quickly grabbed my hand. ¡°I will only say this once, will you please not touch this? If this crystal was ever to break, all of my powers as a Dungeon Lord would be lost. It is equivalent to my very life.¡± ¡°You¡¯ll die?¡± ¡°Sort of. I won¡¯t be able to create new monsters anymore and all the monsters I¡¯ve created so far will disappear as well as all the dungeons I have ever created, that''s on top of losing my Unique Skill. I¡¯ll still technically have my life and can still live a normal life after that, but for a Dungeon Lord, it¡¯s pretty much the same as dying.¡± I felt a little-relieved hearing that. But at the same time, it also brought me worries. If I were perhaps a so-called Dungeon Lord as she said, then my very own crystal existed somewhere out there. Should my crystal break and I, in turn, lose my powers as a Dungeon Lord without even knowing its location, then I wouldn¡¯t be able to remain calm about it. ¡°Oh, so you¡¯re aware of the danger in what I just said. You have a good head on your shoulders there. But, you don¡¯t have to worry. That specific crystal will only appear after you have built your first dungeon. Conversely, if you don¡¯t build a single Dungeon, there will be no crystal¡­ [I Shall comprise].¡± A massive book made up of a large number of parchments appeared in her hands. Lightcrest slowly opened it. ¡°You should have already noticed but we are in the innermost part of my main Dungeon. I think it should look like this.¡± As she said so, a hologram began being displayed above the crystal. It was a splendid but eerie wilderness. ¡°Oh, by the way, Although I say Dungeon, its appearance actually depend on the Dungeon Lord. If there are the Orthodox cave dungeons, then it¡¯s also fine to have a vast wilderness like mine. It could even be a fortress itself. Upon doing so, there was a page with Dungeon Construction written on it. ¡°you can select from the catalogue in there, pick the ones you desire and combine them up. First is the exterior. It¡¯s what¡¯s seen from outside. I¡¯m curious if any of those will suit your preferences perfectly. Next, the interior. The space-time in the Dungeon¡¯s interior is actually distorted. So my dungeon is actually much wider than what can be seen from the outside. It has a vast number of different floors with different ecosystems.¡± I browsed through the pages. Just as she said, various dungeon designs were available. however, In all of the pages, something called DP was written. ¡°Um, What does this DP mean?¡± ¡°Huh, oh right, you wouldn''t know, I thought it was natural but, Dungeon Points. We Dungeon Lords are always frantically collecting them. And in exchange for them, we can obtain any of the things written in the book. Elaborate exteriors cost more DP even though there is absolutely no change in its performance. however, the interior price is directly related to its performance, I think.¡± ¡°Interior?¡± ¡°It¡¯d honestly be quicker if you saw it¡± As soon as she said so, the scenery on the hologram in the crystal changes. ¡°My Dungeon is the kind divided into zones, the type where you progress the further you go. A zone is one wilderness, like forest or desert and these wilderness are purchased individually. So for the first floor of my Dungeon, I¡¯ve made it a simple plains ecosystem.¡± As she said, it was a simple expanse of grasses and vegetation with a mountain in the distance. ¡°I use mountains to separate zones and in the further zones, I¡¯ve bought expensive ecosystems that has traps and all sorts of strange things which the first few zones don¡¯t have.¡± As I looked at the hologram, I saw that a group of goblin males were fighting with what looked to be a Dire Wolf. However, When compared to the G¨¦vaudan wolf I fought, it looked lacking. The group defeated the Dire Wolf and took some sort of victory pose as if it was a major achievement. The scene then changed once more. The new one was of a demon opening a chest, greed was evident all over his face. ¡°Um, You¡¯re not using monsters like the G¨¦vaudan wolf that I fought against earlier? that group was having trouble fighting with, Um, a Dire wolf? wouldn¡¯t a G¨¦vaudan wolf kill them easily?¡± for some reason I just don¡¯t understand this choice, I mean a dungeon is supposed to protect you, isn¡¯t it? Then why not use powerful monsters ¡°Huh, I can¡¯t do that!, Listen, There are specific circumstances that lead me to not wipe everything out but instead make it progressively more difficult.¡± ¡°Was the treasure chest from earlier also part of those specific circumstances, they are being used as lures to attract other.¡± ¡° Exactly.¡± ¡°Um, so whats next¡± ¡° I¡¯ve shown you Dungeon building so next I¡¯ll show you monster making. In my opinion, it¡¯s the best part of being a Dungeon Lord.¡± Monster making. I¡¯m curious, What kind of monster will I create? Chapter 2: First monster The [Animal] Dungeon Lord Lightcrest suddenly declared. ¡°Building a Dungeon is very important but making monsters is equally as important. Monsters protect our territories and us Dungeon Lords from other dungeon lord monsters plus other free monsters.¡± Yeah, that makes sense. From what I could see, monsters were fighting inside the dungeon, now I don¡¯t know what free monsters are but it¡¯s safe to assume that her monsters wouldn¡¯t be fighting each other like that. ¡°Okay, here¡¯s how it works, there are two main methods to obtain monsters. The first is to use DP and buy them. There, however, is a downside to this, monsters have ten ranks of strength, from SSS rank to G rank, and the monsters that you can buy with DP are only those of ranks E, F and G.¡± ¡°Um, does that mean that I can only buy weak monsters?¡± ¡°There is an exception. When you create a monster without exchanging DP, monsters that are of the same type but are below two ranks of that monster can be bought. For example, I have created the A ranked Fenrir, so then, I can buy the C rank monster Skoll with DP.¡± After hearing that statement, I suddenly understood, if I wanted to have powerful monsters, then I would have to create them with means other than using DP. ¡°I¡¯ll now show you the way to make your own monsters that don''t use DP. It¡¯s done using what¡¯s called your Dungeon Lord¡¯s Attribute cards. Now watch, [Draw]¡± Upon saying the word, a card that depicted Lightcrest with a wilderness as the background. I could sense that the card held an intense power magic power. Lightcrest passed that card to me. The instant I held it, information flowed into my mind. [[Animal] Attribute Card. A rank. It can grant the characteristics of an Animal to the monster about to be created. Greatly improves instincts and vitality. ¡°Once each month, every Dungeon Lord may Draw one Attribute card from their collection, these cards are engraved with the dungeon lords own image within it. In my case, it¡¯s an [Animal] Attribute card. When you combine at least two cards together, a monster is born. Why don¡¯t you try shouting out [Draw] yourself?¡± ¡°Interesting. I¡¯ll try it. [Draw]¡± A card appeared in my hand. I was on that card with the image of the sky as my background. I then verified my attributes. [[Sky] Attribute Card. S rank. Grants the ability of flight to any monster about to be created. There is a fixed possible for monsters created through the use of this card to gain attributes of the sky. The chances are Cloud 47% Rain 20% Wind 18% Thunder 7% Lightning 4% Storm 2% Moon 1.5% Sun 0.4% Sky 0.1% These chances are out of 100 and are separate cases e.g. Cloud has a 49% chance to awaken but a 59% chance not to. To create a monster with this card, you must use at least two other Dungeon Lord Attribute Cards I was excited and wanted to combine my cards but was stopped by Lightcrest ¡°Calm down, there are some things about monsters you need to know before you create your first monster, first, as I stated before, you need to use at least two cards to create a monster but you can at most use five cards, Monsters are stronger the more attribute cards you use. You also can¡¯t use two of the same attribute cards when trying to create a monster¡± ¡°Oh, why is that¡± ¡°Well, it¡¯s simple, more cards mean more possible attributes within one monster, not to mention the probability that it¡¯s a higher class monster. Let me give you an example, if you were to use two A class attribute cards, the chances of it being an A class monster is 70%, B class 25% and S class 5%, however if you used 5 A class cards, A class is 40%, B class 15% and S class 45%¡± Hearing that surprised me. ¡°So, will I get another card or did you just tell me that for the hell of it?¡± Hearing that, Lightcrest just laughed ¡°You won¡¯t get just one card, but two¡± Lightcrest said then made a weird smile that kind of worried me, she soon handed me two cards [Earth] Attribute Card. A rank. It can grant the characteristics of an Earth to the monster about to be created. Greatly enhances dexterity and strength [Emperor] Attribute Card. A rank. It can grant the characteristics of an emperor to the monster about to be created. Greatly improves charisma and leadership skills¡¯ Looking at the two new cards, I was quite surprised, even more so when I looked at the four cards I have now, 3 A class cards being [Animal], [Earth] and [emperor] with one S class being [Sky], what the hell is this going to create ¡°Now say combine and the names of the four cards you want to combine¡± ¡°Um, okay, combine [Sky], [Animal], [Earth] and [Emperor]¡±Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon. As I was saying those words, the names of the cards came out in a different voice, a deep dark male voice that sounded both hollow and full of life, it creped me out. Also, the cards started to glow and fly into the sky in a circle, they then shot together and once they touched, a bright light flashed blinding me The light stopped. And then it appeared. A majestic humanoid monkey with snow white fur. Large claws as hands and a long monkey tail. Wrapped around the top of his head was a simple golden crown. This site was majestic beyond compare. ¡°Interesting. I don¡¯t recognise this monster but I can tell just by looking at it that it¡¯s strong, it¡¯s some kind of beastman from the looks of it and its S rank.¡± Lightcrest looked at it then gave a slight smile. Even I can¡¯t help but feel excited when sensing its hidden power. ¡°¡­¡­¡± The monkey slowly opened its eyes; it had blue eyes with a golden sun in its right eye and a silver moon in its left. Those eyes stared straight at me. The monkey slowly opened its mouth and said. ¡°Father!¡± The monkey then lunged at me, nearly scaring me out of my skin before he wraps around me and gives me a bear hug ¡°Father, Father!¡± This certainly surprised me but I quickly tapped on its shoulders signalling it to let me go before I was choked to death, its physical strength is no joke ¡°Okay, that was a surprise, literally thought I was going to die, anyway I am the one that has created you. My name is¡­¡± Wait, what was my name? I don¡¯t remember. As I started to think heavily for my name, a sudden stream of information entered my head ¡°[Sky] Dungeon Lord Onyd.¡± The [Sky] Dungeon Lord Onyd¡­ That¡¯s my name. But why couldn¡¯t I remember it? ¡°Onyd, so you found out your title¡± Lightcrest said startling me ¡°So you knew my title?¡± "nope, every dungeon lord is born with a title that has to do with the attribute but no other dungeon lord knows another dungeon lords title, by the way, when you get your true name, don¡¯t EVER say it, if you do, they literally have full control of everything to do with you¡± That surprised me, ¡°So that wasn¡¯t my true name¡± ¡°Of course not, are you an idiot, true names only appear after a year when you ...¡± Lightcrest suddenly stopped surprising me So I won¡¯t get my true name until after a year, and why did she suddenly stop, more questions kept appearing in my head, add onto the fact that I don¡¯t remember anything and I¡¯m in a real pickle. And what¡¯s with these strange bursts of information When I fought with the G¨¦vaudan wolf, information on the skill [Sky] suddenly showed up out of nowhere and now my title suddenly appeared. ¡°Anyway, why don¡¯t you check out your new monsters stats, I¡¯m sure they will be cool, and don¡¯t forget to tell me about them?¡± Hearing her shook me out of my deep thought, I quickly looked at its stats

After reading the description, I was naturally surprised ¡°Well, what does it say? ¡°It¡¯s a race called celestial monkey, it has S+ ranked physical strength and agility, S ranked endurance but C rank magic power¡± I quickly explained the stats to Lightcrest causing her face to change ¡°interesting, I didn¡¯t tell you this but all monsters attributes are ranked from F to SSS, now below B rank, it¡¯s purely just lettered but once it reaches B rank, each rank has three sub ranks, B-, B and B+ as an example¡± Hearing this causes me to be a bit surprised ¡°So do the sub ranks do anything?¡± ¡°of course, I¡¯ll use the celestial monkey as an example, celestial monkey is an S ranked creature with S+ ranked physical strength, that means that it has SS+ ranked strength if it were an A ranked monster and A+ if it were SS ranked¡± Hearing this surprised me, this means that the C ranked magic power is B ranked for an A class monster and A ranked for a B ranked monster ¡°Anyway, Usono, appear here¡± Lightcrest suddenly said startling me, as soon as she did, a beautiful woman appeared, she looked like the type all men dreamed of but she had two fox ears on her head and nine fox tales wrapped around her like clothes ¡°This is [Sky] Dungeon Lord Onyd first monster, teach him to fight, he is a physical fighter so stick to that, it¡¯s the only strong monster he will be getting until the end of the year so treat it with care¡± Lightcrest suddenly says, Usono suddenly disappears and reappears in front of the celestial monkey, sending an uppercut into its stomach causing it to faint, she then picks him up and walks away ¡°Hey, what are you doing, and what do you mean only strong monster I¡¯ll get in a while? ¡°All dungeon lord parents are required to give their dungeon lord prot¨¦g¨¦ 3 dungeon lord attribute cards, unfortunately, I¡¯m forbidden from giving you any more cards and you unfortunately just used all of them to create your first monster¡± This startled me ¡°Don¡¯t worry; there actually is a reason why I did this We dungeon lords can only draw an attribute card once a month for making monsters but we are always in constant need of cards. Moreover, it¡¯s not smart for a Dungeon Lord to use his own card every time we make a new monster. So, trading cards with other Dungeon Lords are also an important strategy.¡± What she said is certainly seemed true, as I thought, something suddenly hit me ¡°I understand, there are three ways to make monsters. Buying ran E, F and G rank weak monsters with DP. Monsters that are in the same lineage but are two ranks lower of a monster that¡¯s been made once could also be bought with DP. Finally, by combining dungeon lord attribute cards.¡± Those were the three methods. Thinking about it, I would most likely use the second method the most. E, F and G ranked monster would just be too weak and the third method was limited to once a month which is good for getting powerful monsters but is rather limited when you need to fill a dungeon. The second method was like an in-between, you could get moderately strong monsters and could get them whenever you wanted, a win-win Using my case as an example. I have made an S ranked Celestial Monkey so I could now buy B rank monsters of the same lineage as him. That¡¯s great. However, there is still a weakness, the variety of the monsters I could buy with the second method if I use all of one kind it would get easier as it goes on so I would still have to continue doing the third method¡¯s card combination. ¡°Oh, by the way, there is a loophole. Duplicate Cards¡± And so, Lightcrest continued her lesson. Duplicate¡­ If I were to rephrase it, they¡¯re copies but what does she mean? What kind of things could duplicate cards be?
