《A Promise》


 Chapter 1 - Preparing for the hospital visit

    A young girl woke up by the sun shining its¡¯ ray perfectly in her blue eyes. A yawn escaped her mouth as she tried raising her body to check the clock on the wall. [7:00 am sharp it seems], the girl let out a smile as she managed to wake up by herself even without needing an alarm.


    She tried her best standing up from the bed without making a lot of noise, before leaving the bedroom she peeked at the bed and saw a 20-year-old male sleeping soundly in his dreams. But she was a little worried, did it seem like he had a small frown on his face? She didn¡¯t want to think about it anymore and went outside the bedroom and went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the two.


    [Now.. Now.. what should I make for this morning? Eggs with French toast? Hmm no, perhaps, pancakes! Yes, I¡¯ll make pancakes!] A smile showed on the girl¡¯s face again when she found out what to make.


    After the girl made six pancakes, she sat down on the chair beside the kitchen table. [Everything seems to have been prepared and it only took me a little over half an hour] she took a quick look at the clock mounted on the wall and saw it just took her 35 minutes. [I¡¯ll wake him up when its 8 am as usual]. She stood up, walked to the shelf and picked up a random book. The girl just flipped open the book and just read on the couch to pass time.


    A few minutes later a loud scream resounded throughout the whole house. [AHHH!!! NO! PLEASE DON¡¯T!! NOOO!!!] The girl jumped up like electricity just went through her, she ran toward the bedroom while the screaming was still going on [NOO AHH!! PLEASE DON¡¯T DO IT!!]


    The girl slammed open the door and saw that the youth in the bed was sweating and screaming, but he was barely moving even with those screams. His eyes were full of tears and depression. The girl hurriedly rushed to his side and grabbed his hand, she looked into his eyes while he was trying his best to look at the girl. [Pluto, please don¡¯t worry, I¡¯m already here now] She was on the brink of crying, even after trying to hold her tears back, the tears were starting to run down from her eyes and dripping down on Pluto¡¯s face


    Pluto¡¯s screaming settled down after he understood where he was, he was in his bedroom and someone was holding his hand. He finally understood that it was only a nightmare, a horrible nightmare. Pluto stopped screaming and looked at the girl in front of him. Pluto was sad, not because of his nightmare. Pluto was sad because he made her worried.


    Pluto tried his best to calm himself down and looked at the girl in front of him, even after everything, he let out a tiny smile. [Aria, I¡¯m sorry, I seemed to have gotten a nightmare again] Pluto tried his best to keep his smile, but whenever he thought of the nightmare he had, he started trembling. This didn¡¯t escape the notice of Aria at all.


    ¡°Did he have that nightmare again?¡± Aria was feeling extremely sad, she didn¡¯t know what to do. Aria looked at Pluto and tried her best to think of a way to make him happy. ¡°Why did everything bad happen to him? What has he ever done to anyone? Why couldn¡¯t it have been someone else, but him?¡± Aria thought to herself while looking at Pluto trembling. She couldn¡¯t bear it anymore hugged him. Both stayed like that for a while before Aria let go of Pluto and looked again at him, while Pluto was looking at Aria.


    [Aria, thank you]. That was all which came out from his mouth, Pluto looked again at Aria. He was very happy that there was someone who cared about him, but he was also sad because of it. ¡°Why does she not want to live her own life? Why does she want to stay by my side? A horrible excuse of a human being¡±.


    Aria looked at Pluto was has finally calmed down, she grabbed his arm and said in a soft voice [Pluto, I have already prepared breakfast. Let¡¯s go and eat] Aria tried to maintain the sweetest smile she possibly could and looked at Pluto.


    Pluto looked at her for a moment and nodded to her. Aria slowly helped Pluto up and held his upper body so he could use her as support. Pluto finally stood up and slowly tried walking forward while using Aria as support. Even now, he was aware that Aria was well lower than him, he himself was around 1,80 meter while Aria was 1,65 meter. While thinking about trivial things, they arrived in the kitchen.


    On the table, there were two stacks of pancakes which had three pancakes each. He smiled as he truly liked to eat pancakes in the morning. Aria helped him sit down slowly on his chair while she pulled the other chair closer to his. After Pluto sat down, he started breathing heavily. Even walking from the bedroom to the kitchen which was less than 20 meters was very difficult for him.


    Aria used the knife and fork to cut the pancakes in eatable sizes, she did that to her own stack of pancakes and Pluto¡¯s. Aria looked at Pluto¡¯s face which was staring at the pancakes, she giggled a little and Aria put up a bright smile which came from her heart. Aria used the fork to stab the pancakes and lifted it. Pluto who was watching this gulped as he was waiting for this. Aria slowly moved the fork closer to her own mouth and saw that Pluto was staring at her and the pancakes with a puppy face. Aria couldn¡¯t keep it in anymore and laughed [Hahaha] and shoved the fork with the piece of pancake on it toward Pluto. Pluto himself happily opened his mouth and took the piece of pancake off the fork.Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.


    [It¡¯s delicious!] Pluto tried to comment while trying to eat the pancake. His eyes were shining brightly. Meanwhile Aria looked at Pluto¡¯s eyes and went into a daze ¡°His eyes are truly good looking¡±. Pluto¡¯s pupils were pitch black, it was dark like the night. Even so, they were shining brightly like the stars. Aria slowly but steadily fed Pluto and ate her own pancakes over the one hour period they used to eat their breakfast.


    [You just rest here for a while Pluto, I¡¯ll wash the dishes before we go out to the hospital] Aria said and picked up the dishes they used and went to the kitchen to wash them. While Aria was doing this, Pluto had complexed feelings, he didn¡¯t want to go to the hospital, it never brought any good news. ¡°Why is my body so useless?¡± he looked down on his body, he looked at his legs, hips, arms and chest. He let out a sigh and closed his eyes ¡°It will never get better, will it?¡± Pluto asked himself a question, but he couldn¡¯t answer it. Pluto¡¯s eyelids slowly opened, it was easily shown what he felt, Pluto was depressed. He looked toward the kitchen, suddenly it looked like he already felt motivated again. Pluto breathed in and out a couple times so he could calm himself down.


    After a few minutes, Aria finished washing the dishes and walked out to the living room where Pluto was sitting down on the bed. Before Aria went down to sit beside him, she looked at Pluto for a couple of seconds. She loved his silver hair, Pluto¡¯s natural hair was silver. His parents both had brown hair, but he himself was born with silver hair. His hair wasn¡¯t short, nor long, it had the length of couple of centimetres. After a few moments, Aria collected her thoughts and sat down beside Pluto, neither one of them said a word. Pluto¡¯s left hand which was closest to Aria, slightly moved and tried to grab Aria¡¯s hand. Even as Pluto tried to move it, his hand barely moved and he was struggling. Aria which caught it in the side of her eyes let out a smile and grabbed his hand and held it with both her hands. While they held hands, they didn¡¯t speak, both Pluto and Aria had a slight smile on their face as they were thinking about each other.


    Before long, Aria opened her mouth and said [Pluto, are you ready to visit the hospital?] Pluto who heard this clearly, nodded his head and said back [Yes, I am. When is the taxi picking us up?] Pluto didn¡¯t want to show signs that he was unwilling to go there. [The taxi is picking us up in an hour, you want to get dressed now?] Pluto nodded and waited for Aria to help him lift him up. Aria which stood up, grabbed under both his arms and lifted him up to his feet and then took his arm over her shoulder so he could use her as support. [You know Aria, you could always use the wheelchair, you don¡¯t have to push yourself like that]. Aria which heard this shook her head and spoke [I don¡¯t want you to use it unless it¡¯s necessary, I can clearly still support you walking here and there at home. So, don¡¯t worry about anything and let¡¯s focus on walking towards the bedroom]


    They walked slowly towards the bedroom, the steps were short. Pluto¡¯s body was burning in pain, but he gritted his teeth and continued to walk. The bedroom door was open so they just walked in, Aria walked Pluto to the bed and slowly let him down to sit. [Haa haa haa] Pluto¡¯s breathing was loud and heavy. [Pluto, what do you want to wear today?] Aria asked while walking to the wardrobe. [Won¡¯t the usual clothing work? Jeans, t-shirt and my coat] Pluto asked back and decided on what to wear in a vague answer. Aria nodded and opened the wardrobe and picked blue jeans, a black t-shirt and grabbed his dark coat.


    [Alrighty Pluto, let¡¯s change your clothes. Just be patient with me and I¡¯ll be finished soon enough] Aria turned over to Pluto with a grin on her face. Pluto which saw this couldn¡¯t do anything else than nod his head and be scared and yelling in his own mind ¡°Why are you always looking that crazy when you¡¯re changing my clothes?!¡± Pluto wanted to laugh but ended up not doing so because he didn¡¯t want Aria to do anything strange.


    [Well well, you do look handsome] Aria commented Pluto¡¯s new look after changing his clothes, she was nodding repeatedly. Pluto rolled his eyes and replied [Aren¡¯t you going to change clothes?]. Aria was stunned and looked down on her clothes, she hurriedly went to the wardrobe and picked the first thing she saw. Aria undressed what she was wearing so she could change clothes. The moment Aria started to undress, Pluto calmly shut his eyes and thought ¡°How careless can she be?¡±. [I¡¯m done, you can open your eyes now] Aria spoke out. Pluto opened his eyes and saw the beautiful girl, she was wearing a purple skirt with a white t-shirt. It perfectly fit her blue eyes and crimson red hair. ¡°She¡¯s so beautiful¡±


    [You¡¯re staring again, haha] Aria giggled when she noticed that Pluto was staring at her. [I¡¯ll bring your wheelchair, the taxi is supposed to arrive soon, let¡¯s wait for it] Aria walked to the other room and returned with his wheelchair. Pluto sighed when he saw it. But, he accepted that he can¡¯t walk. Aria helped Pluto to his wheelchair and she went behind him and started pushing him slowly outside.


    [At least the weather isn¡¯t that bad today] Aria commented on the weather, Pluto which were looking downwards nodded his head and replied with [It¡¯s not bad]. They stopped talking and patiently waited for the taxi to arrive. The taxi arrived and a middle-aged man came out from the vehicle [Hello, are you Aria and Pluto? I have gotten a request to bring you to the hospital] [Yes that¡¯s us, can you help me get Pluto in the taxi and put the wheelchair in the back?] Aria nodded her head and asked the middle-aged. [Yes I can, no problem]. The middle-aged man picked up Pluto and sat him down in the vehicle, he folded the wheelchair and put it in the back and went back to the vehicle. [Are you both ready to go?] the middle-aged man asked. Aria who was already inside the taxi and seated beside Pluto nodded her head. [Don¡¯t worry Pluto, maybe we will get good news today] Aria grabbed Pluto¡¯s left hand calmly spoke. Pluto didn¡¯t say anything but slowly nodded after some time.

 Chapter 2 - Hospital visit and the white room

    [Pluto, we¡¯re arriving soon] Pluto who had his eyes closed opened them after hearing Aria notifying him and nodded. [I know that you don¡¯t like it here, but let¡¯s hope something good happens] Aria obviously knows that Pluto don¡¯t enjoy staying in the hospital. Aria looked over to Pluto which had his eyes closed again, his face was not like before. Pluto wasn¡¯t smiling anymore, he had a straight face which didn¡¯t show any type of emotions. ¡°Why do I feel sad whenever I see him like that?¡±. Aria grabbed his hand harder and didn¡¯t speak anymore.


    [Here you go, we¡¯re at the hospital now. Just wait a moment, I will get the wheelchair ready]. The middle-aged man went outside the taxi and got the wheelchair out and unfolded it.


    [So Pluto, are you ready to go inside?] Aria asked Pluto with a smile on her face and stood behind him. [Yes, I am ready for this month¡¯s examinations] Pluto replied and nodded his head while looking toward the hospital entrance. Aria started pushing Pluto¡¯s wheelchair.


    [Hello, we have an appointment for a monthly examination with doctor Fremen]


    [I will notify the doctor, just wait here for a moment]


    [Pluto, the doctor will be here soon. Are you feeling ok?] [Yeah, I am fine]. Pluto looked upwards and sighed deeply before returning his eyes to Aria, a small smile approached Pluto¡¯s face before a female doctor came in the room [Hi Pluto, Aria. How are you two doing?] [Well, I¡¯m fine doctor] Aria replied then looked at Pluto. Pluto returned to his emotionless face and looked at the female doctor a while before replying [Let¡¯s find out how I¡¯m doing] before taking his eyes off the female doctor and looked to another room. The female doctor nodded her head and took the lead.


    [Pluto, can¡¯t you be a bit nicer to her?] Aria whispered to Pluto. [I have no reason to be nice to others] replied Pluto with a cold voice. Aria sighed before not caring about the situation anymore.


    [Well, you seem ready for the examinations for this month Pluto. Is there anything you like to speak about before we go through the tests?] the female doctor asked and looked down to her papers and picked up a pen on her desk. [Nothing, nothing at all] answered Pluto. The female doctor and Aria both sighed. [Aria, is there anything I should know?] she turned her head to Aria, she knew well how Pluto didn¡¯t like her, or even to say liked anyone. [Pluto have been starting to get his nightmares again. I haven¡¯t noticed much else beside that] replied Aria while thinking of Pluto¡¯s state this past month.


    [Nightmare again? About his family, right?] the female doctor looked at Aria then glanced at Pluto again who had his eyes closed. ¡°He is really something, even when something is happening, he can easily close his eyes and block everything away¡± the female doctor sighed. Aria nodded before answering back [Yes, the nightmare which he had was about his family] While answering that, Aria¡¯s face showed sadness. [Well, I see. It shouldn¡¯t be anything bad]. The female doctor wrote in Pluto¡¯s journal and when she looked up, she was taken back for a moment, because Pluto¡¯s eyes were opened and calmly looking at her. She couldn¡¯t see any kind of emotions on his face, even if the mountains were breaking apart, the heavens falling, the seas disappearing, he wouldn¡¯t show any type of emotions.


    [Are we starting the tests soon?] a voice sounded out while the room was silent. Pluto¡¯s voice wasn¡¯t loud, nor low. His voice didn¡¯t have any type of emotions at all. [Yes, just wait a moment and we will start them. We will first start with body movements, blood tests, X-rays and a few other ones which I will handle in this room] The female doctor quickly came back from her daze and answered Pluto.


    After a few hours, they returned to the same room with the female doctor.


    [How do you think it went, Pluto?] the female doctor asked Pluto while checking the reports which has already been finished. Pluto took some time to think and replied [I think it might have gone well] When Pluto said that, Aria showed a smile as Pluto usually doesn¡¯t say that. While the female doctor was reading through the pages, her face showed frowns and she looked unhappy.


    Aria clearly saw that and became worried as she glanced forth and back. [Can you tell us what the reports says?] Aria¡¯s voice didn¡¯t show any energy anymore, but worry. The female doctor looked up after reading through the reports and glanced at Aria before staring at Pluto [Pluto, I have some bad news for you] [What bad news?!] Aria stood up when she heard that and looked at Pluto full-heartedly. The female doctor sighed and said [Pluto¡¯s body is deteriorating; his organs are acting up again. This time, I don¡¯t think. Sigh, I don¡¯t think Pluto will survive this time]. [Noo!! That¡¯s a lie! Tell me it¡¯s a lie! You can¡¯t be serious! He can¡¯t die now!] Aria yelled her lungs out to the female doctor while tears dropped down her face.


    [Aria, calm down. It¡¯s alright. We both knew that it has been a miracle that I have been surviving for this long] Pluto finally showed emotions on his face while looking at Aria. His face doesn¡¯t show fear, agony or any bad kind of that, but a caring face. He looks dearly at Aria while calmly trying to settle down Aria¡¯s feelings, Pluto even smiled while saying those words.     [You¡¯re rather calm, aren¡¯t you?] the female doctor asked Pluto after Aria ran outside. [I don¡¯t see any need to not be calm. Sure, I might not want to die, but I know my own body can¡¯t last that long] Pluto replied with his usual voice and unemotional look. [Even when facing death, you seem not to care about the world] the female doctor sighed again. [I don¡¯t see any reasons to care about this world, the only thing I care about is Aria]


    Aria ran outside, she stopped after becoming tried and sat down to cry. ¡°Why is it like this?! Pluto is innocent, he hasn¡¯t done anything wrong in his life and he has been treated badly by everyone and can¡¯t do anything by himself. I curse everyone, I curse God, I curse everything on this planet! I¡¯ll do anything if only he can live happily. I only want him to live happily, nothing else! Why does everything go against his favour?!¡± Aria thoughts went wild while crying.


    [Hello, what are you crying about?] a middle-aged male came to Aria and asked her. He wore a black suit and had blond hair. [Nothing, it¡¯s nothing] Aria replied with a cracking voice. The middle-aged man had a grin on his face before asking again [Are you really willing to do anything?] [What are you talking about?] Aria showed a confused face while looking at the grinning middle-aged man. [Didn¡¯t you just say that you are willing to do anything if someone can make your darling Pluto happy?] His grin immediately went larger.


    ¡°Who¡¯s that guy? Did I speak those words out loudly earlier? No, it can¡¯t be¡± Aria was still confused but nodded her head. [Then, if I said I can make him happy. What will you offer me?] The middle-aged man grinned and spoke in an arrogant tone. [I don¡¯t know, what can I give you? As long it is reasonable, I will give you anything!] Aria which was despairing didn¡¯t care if the middle-aged man could really help Pluto or not, she just wanted Pluto safe and sound!


    [Then, if I asked both of you to move to another place? A place filled with fun things, you could enjoy watching the environment, going on travels, visiting places and even do amazing stuff there. How does a place like that sound? And before you answer this, your darling Pluto will also be healthy!] The middle-aged man was grinning from ear to ear while offering Aria his suggestion. [If you could really help Pluto with his health, and even take us to that place. I¡¯ll do it! I accept!] [Even if I said that the place is beautiful, it¡¯s also dangerous. Just heal Pluto¡¯s body!] Aria yelled out her answer before her conscious blacked out.


    At the same time, Pluto who was in the hospital room also blacked out.

Pluto couldn¡¯t turn around but replied [Then where am I? More than that, where¡¯s Aria? If I¡¯m not in the hospital anymore, she should be looking for me]. [Haha, you surely think of your cute little sister more than yourself. Haven¡¯t you thought that I may use you for blackmailing your younger sister? Or even torture you?] [Why should I think of myself? If you are going to torture me, then do it. If you want money, then take everything. If you want answers to something, ask them and I¡¯ll answer any I can] Pluto calmly replied back to the voice.


    [You sure are something] steps resounded throughout the room and walked in front of Pluto. The person was a middle-aged man with a black suit and was grinning. [Well, I know who you are, my dear Pluto. So, I should tell you my name, it¡¯s David] [That¡¯s a lie. If you don¡¯t want to tell me your name, don¡¯t bother with a fake one either] Pluto answered back without caring about the middle-aged man which called himself David. [Haha, you¡¯re surely amazing. Well, about my name, it¡¯s complicated. I have been called a lot of things, but I don¡¯t have a real name. So, I just came up with David, it sounds cool. Doesn¡¯t it?] David was grinning even after Pluto told him about his lie.


    [Let¡¯s get back on track. Where should I start? Ah. Let¡¯s start with this, I have a medicine which can cure your body, how does that sound?] Pluto who usually has a stern look on his face glanced at David [You¡¯re not lying. What do you want for it?] Pluto sighed again and stared at David. Surely Pluto didn¡¯t want to die, he still wants to be with Aria and fulfil his promise. [Nothing, you don¡¯t have to give me anything. Well, that¡¯s because Aria has already given me what I want] David grinned and stared back at Pluto. Pluto was shocked and said [What are you talking about? Tell me, what did she give you?] David who was laughing out loud answered Pluto [I won¡¯t say anything, but I will say this. She said that she will give anything if something could make you happy again, have a happy life, hahaha] David was laughing and grinning while Pluto¡¯s face darkened and yelled out loudly [What did you do to Aria?! Where is she?!]


    [Haha, well calm down first. Aria is doing fine, for now at least] David was laughing like a maniac while thinking how much fun he was having right now. But this situation made things worse for Pluto. Pluto who already was agitated and on the brink of losing his mind was roaring out [Tell me!!!!] Pluto was roaring out while David still had his grin on his face. Meanwhile Pluto was roaring for a few minutes, Pluto''s face had tears running from his eyes and his voice was getting coarser and weaker. David who was looking at how Pluto was acting started to get bored and said in a low voice [Go back to sleep] the moment he said so, Pluto¡¯s eyes darkened and his face dropped, his breathing calmed down.


    [How should I continue this little play?] David¡¯s voice was sounding out in the white room and he looked at the youth; Pluto on his wheelchair. Then he looked behind him, a bed, on that bed was a 16 years old looking girl with crimson red hair laying down, that girl was Aria. [Now then, shall I continue playing with him or start with her?] David who was grinning was glancing at Pluto and Aria before he finally picked his next play.

 Chapter 3 - Playing mind games for fun

    ¡°Why does my head hurt so much?¡± Aria who¡¯s holding her head while trying to get up. Her eyes are blinking because of the light around her, everything was white, the floor, roof and the walls. ¡°Where is this? I bet Pluto¡¯s waiting for me at the hospital, where am I?! I need to go there right now¡± Aria who tried to get up, fell down again on her knees. She didn¡¯t care about that and started crawling till her hands touched the wall. Aria was starting to tear up, her eyes started to get moist and she wanted to just yell and cry everything out. But she didn¡¯t, she knew she had to stay calm, Pluto always said: [Even if it¡¯s horrible, you need to stay calm. It¡¯s the best way to figure out your next move]. Pluto¡¯s words came to her mind and she finally managed to keep her calm and she leaned on the wall while thinking about where she was, how to get out, where Pluto was, if Pluto was missing her and if Pluto was still waiting for her at the hospital entrance, waiting for her to pick him up. Even after how hard she tried, tears came out from her eyes, Aria used her hands to cover her face and she silently sobbed.


    Not long after, at the opposite of the wall she was leaning at; a portion of the wall opened, like a door. Out from the door, a middle-aged man came walking in, a blond man wearing a black suit. [Hello, seems like you¡¯re awake! That¡¯s good. My name is David, don¡¯t worry I won¡¯t hurt you] David which was grinning tried to comfort Aria. Aria looked up and staring at David, her face was full of tears which was running down on her white skin. Aria managed to calm down a little and probed [Where am I?] not long after, a growl came from her stomach, Aria looked down again and started crying. [Oh I¡¯m sorry! Of course you¡¯re hungry! Just wait here and I¡¯ll bring something for you to eat] David had a understanding look and went out the door again, not even half a minute he came back walking in with a plate filled with pancakes and syrup, in his other hand he held a knife and a fork.


    [Well, don¡¯t worry and just eat till you¡¯re full] David placed the plate on the ground before stepping back a few steps and sat down on the bed. Aria managed to sense her body again and reached out to the plate. She carefully looked at the man and hurriedly picked the knife and fork and ate, she felt like she hasn¡¯t eaten for a couple of days. Not long after, everything on the plate was empty and she leaned on the wall again. [Well, you seem full now, don¡¯t you?] David asked and to that question, Aria nodded before seemingly remembering that he was also in the room. [Where am I? Where is this?] Aria carefully asked so that she wouldn¡¯t make that person in front of her angry. David was grinning and said [Didn¡¯t I say that I would take you to a fun place? Aren¡¯t we having fun?]


    [Where¡¯s Pluto?] Aria asked when she heard that David answered her. She didn¡¯t think that this game was funny at all. She was very scared, but she had to keep herself calm and ask everything she possible can think of right now. [Pluto? Why don¡¯t we go and look right now?] David had a glint in his eyes and he was holding back his grin the best he could, but even after trying this hard, he still let out a small grin. Aria who say the person grinning had a bad feeling. David stood up from the bed and signalised Aria to stand up too, Aria managed to stand up steadily and walked behind David. They walked outside the white room, what was outside the white room was a white corridor, it was truly strange. Aria was just walking behind David, David opened a door before entering, Aria carefully thought for a few seconds before she also entered.


    Inside the room, it was normal. It had grey walls, stools, tables and even carpets on the ground. But, on the other side of the room was a mirror. When Aria walked inside and saw what was behind that mirror, she became shocked, her legs failed her and she dropped down on her knees. Tears were running down on Aria¡¯s face while looking behind that mirror, her mind was breaking apart and she couldn¡¯t even say one word. She felt like she was in a nightmare and she only wanted to wake up.


    Behind that mirror; was a white room, in the middle of that room; Pluto was chained, all of his limbs was chained to each side of the room and he was floating in the air. Pluto¡¯s silver hair was ruffed and his face was full of tears. Pluto was roaring out like a mad man [You!! Come back here right now!! AHHHH!!!! You¡¯re not allowed to do anything to her!! I will kill you!! I will rip you apart!! You bastard!!] Pluto¡¯s voice was loud and even if it was getting coarser, he roared with all his might.


    A few minutes earlier


    [Waky waky Pluto, it¡¯s time to wake up] David was standing in front of Pluto and tried to wake him up. ¡°Huh? Did I lose conscious again?¡± [Where am I?] Pluto who looked around, felt weird. He was feeling pain on his limbs, he tried glancing on his arm and found out that it was chained and floating, he looked down on his legs and found out they weren¡¯t on the ground but floating and chained too! He finally looked up to the man David which was grinning. [You¡¯re finally awake! But, sorry to inform you, it was a little too late, sigh] David was sighing when he told Pluto that. ¡°Late for what?¡± Pluto was wondering and wanted to ask. [Late for what you¡¯re wondering about, yes?] David was grinning again before he continued [I wanted to play with you, but you seemed to take way too long. So I¡¯m just going out of here and find your little sister, she should be awake and waiting for me right now] David was grinning and looking at Pluto when he said that.This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. I will be going to have some fun with Aria right now, haha] David was laughing like a maniac before turning around and moving to the open door. [Wait!! Get back here!! Don¡¯t you dare do anything to her, I¡¯ll do anything! You bastard, I¡¯ll kill you if you do something to her! Don¡¯t you even dare to play a game with me?! Get back here!!] Pluto finally started to roar out, but nothing stopped David. David finally turned around when he was close to the door and said [I will surely be having some fun with Aria now, don¡¯t you worry, alright?] [ARGGG!!! You bastard!! Get back here right now!] Pluto completely lost his sense and roared like a crazy beast. David went out of the room and closed the door.


    Back to the real time


    [Now then, shall we have some fun, Aria?] David which was grinning turned around and looked at Aria before asking. [What are you doing to him?! Let him down!] Aria didn¡¯t answer David and stood up trembling and walked to the mirror, she used her fist and hit the mirror. But, nothing happened more than a little vibration. A roaring sound was in the background while Aria tried to break the mirror. Behind Aria, was David which was grinning and thinking of how to proceed. Pluto who only saw a mirror but couldn¡¯t see what was behind it, understood that it was being hit. He knew that someone was hitting that mirror and he knew that it was Aria who was in that room! Pluto¡¯s mind finally snapped and roared with all his might [You monster!! Let go off Aria!! I¡¯ll kill you!]


    [Now Aria, it¡¯s your turn to decide. I will let you pick what comes next. Your first option is that Pluto is going to hang there till he dies¡­] Before David could continue to explain his next option, Aria yelled out [No! Let him down!]. [I will be continuing, your next option is that I will let Pluto down and both of you can go back home, like nothing actually happened here] [Please, please let us return home!] Aria sobbed and yelled, but she didn¡¯t turn around when she was talking. She was only looking at Pluto who was cursing, yelling and roaring out like a beast. [You shouldn¡¯t pick before hearing all the options you have, you know?] David was grinning and started to explain further [Your third option is that I will heal Pluto and I will take both of you to the place I mentioned. All of this was just a little test which I wanted to check on both of you. So, you can now decide. Let Pluto die right now and you can return home. Both of you can return home and Pluto will die in a month¡¯s time. And, finally, both of you will go to a fantasy place for the rest of your life and both you and Pluto will be healthy.]


    Aria barely listened to his offers, but she clearly heard that both of them can live peacefully, only if she said so. Aria tried to speak, but her voice throat was dry that she could barely make a sound [I pick the third option, let us rest together. I don¡¯t care where it is, just let us be together peacefully] Aria tried to give her reply, not long after she said that. Both her and Pluto fainted.


    [They truly deserve going to that place, don¡¯t they?] David asked himself before continuing to talk to himself [They surely are faited together. Sigh, I¡¯m sorry for having done this, both of you may hate me for doing these things, and I don¡¯t mind that too. But I had to do this] He looked at Aria then Pluto. David sighed before speaking [A girl with unimaginable love to someone, to the part where she does everything for that person. And that person.] David sighed deeply this time and lost his grin [That person, you are actually scarier than anyone I have met. You have lost everything, you don¡¯t place anything in your eyes, nothing will ever be worth anything. But, your heart is filled with another person. No matter what, you think of her life way more important than your own. You wouldn¡¯t mind being tortured, cursed at, beaten to death and even more horrible things, you are able to do all that just for protecting her. She¡¯s a really lucky girl] David¡¯s emotions were deep and it seemed like he was thinking of a past that he wanted to forget [Pluto, you don¡¯t belong to this world. Your life isn¡¯t fated to stay here with mortals, and it seems like that you have already decided who''s going to stay by your side]


    David kneeled down on one knee and said [I have finally found you again Pluto, my younger brother. You don¡¯t belong to the world of mortals, by the right I have, I can allow two persons to transport back. You and your wife will be going back and getting back what¡¯s actually yours! I¡¯m sorry for causing all of this, I hope you don¡¯t hate me this long because of this] David sighed again before looking dearly at Pluto before continuing [After both of you have returned, I can¡¯t come back because I only managed to prepare enough magic for two people to return. Meanwhile I have to stay here, Pluto, you do your own things and your fate will lead you to the path that you deserved in your past life!] David¡¯s voice was getting louder and louder, by the end of it he was yelling out. Around David, there was a white light surrounding him, it left him and went circled around Aria and Pluto before they vanished. David fell to his knees and blood was coming out from his eyes, mouth, ears and nose. He tried his best to look at Pluto before he vanished from the white room, when he didn¡¯t see him anymore, his vision became fuzzy.

 Chapter 4 - New world?! What a headache..

    In a dark cave, there were two humans laying down on the floor sleeping. One¡¯s a male wearing a dark coat and has silver hair, the other person is a female, she¡¯s wearing a white t-shirt and a purple skirt, she has crimson red hair. Yes, those two are Pluto and Aria! They both seem to be sleeping.


    After a while, it seemed like Pluto was going to open his eyes. He was having a hard time opening them, he thought it would have been bright, but no matter how much he tried to open his eyes, it was simple just dark. Pluto couldn¡¯t see anything ¡°Where am I now? Why is it so dark here?¡± Pluto was having a hard time understanding where he was, he started thinking about where this place might be. He didn¡¯t make a single noise until he heard someone close to him talking in panic [Where is this?!] that person also started to cry for help. Pluto¡¯s mind went black but quickly said [Aria, I¡¯m here, don¡¯t worry] that person was Aria! He finally found her again!


    [Pluto? Is that you Pluto? Where are you?] Aria suddenly realised that Pluto was close to her. She tried calling out and stretch her arms around to try feel Pluto as her eyes couldn¡¯t see anything in this dark environment. [Aria, calm down. Listen to my voice] Aria calmed down after hearing that and Pluto continued [Follow my voice, don¡¯t rush over as it¡¯s dark and you might trip while coming here. Just follow my voice slowly] Aria which started doing what Pluto told her to and started moving slowly towards the place she heard Pluto¡¯s voice coming from.


    After a few seconds of walking, Aria heard Pluto¡¯s voice clearer and clearer, she was close! Aria stretched out her arm and bumped into something, she hurriedly pulled her arm back. [Am I a special animal which you¡¯re afraid of Aria? Haha] Pluto laughed when Aria touched him and pulled her arm back. When Pluto said that, Aria understood that it was Pluto, she opened her arms and jumped into his embrace. She has been afraid for a long time now, when she was with David, when she saw Pluto in that manner and when she woke up right now too in a dark place without anyone. Aria has been through a lot, but, finally she could let it all out. She let her tears out while hugging Pluto, she was crying because she finally found the person she most feels safe with.


    [Now now Aria, you¡¯re safe now. Don¡¯t worry.] Pluto tried comforting Aria. Sadly, he couldn¡¯t move his arms to hug her back. But, it was strange, he didn¡¯t feel pain when Aria embraced him at all. It was a little heavy, but he didn¡¯t feel any sort of pain.


    After a while, Aria finally stopped crying and left Pluto¡¯s chest. [Pluto, what do we do now?] Aria tried looking around and thought again that they were in a dark place with no lights. Pluto also understood that and started thinking about their situation. [Well, let¡¯s find a wall and move along it. This place seems to be made out of rocks, so this might be underground, if it¡¯s like this we have to walk uphill. So, our goal is to find a wall and walk the path it¡¯s going uphill] Pluto spoke after he thought based on the bumpy rock made floor and the echo this space was giving out. [Alright. Pluto, hold on to me, I will bring you out] Aria nodded and thought what she could do for Pluto, Pluto was always the one who thought of how to accomplish things, but he never could do them alone. ¡°This time, I will support you using my body Pluto! Don¡¯t worry, I will use every ounce of my energy to bring you out of here¡± Aria made a resolve and slowly tried lifting Pluto up on his legs.


    Pluto was holding onto Aria and slowly picked up his feet and moved one step at a time, they were slowly walking around randomly. First, they had to find a wall, so they were just trying to walk around to find that wall first. [Pluto, I feel a wall I think!] Aria exclaimed as she was using her right hand to feel what¡¯s in front of them. [Alright Aria, that¡¯s good. Let¡¯s use that wall and slowly walk uphill, we will be out in no time!] Pluto nodded and told Aria what they were going to do next. After Aria finally affirmed that it was a wall, they started to walk in a direction following it, not long after Pluto noticed that it was not uphill but downhill they were walking. Pluto told Aria that and they then walked in the other direction. They were both tired of walking, there weren¡¯t any clocks around them, so they didn¡¯t know for how long they were walking. Was it 10 minutes? Half an hour? 2 hours? They were just walking slowly uphill. ¡°I can¡¯t stop now! We should be close getting out now, I won¡¯t allow Pluto die here¡± Aria was only thinking of getting Pluto out of here while she was gritting her teeth and slowly walked uphill while supporting Pluto¡¯s body.


    ¡°Why does she have to push herself that hard?¡± Meanwhile Pluto was thinking these thoughts. He knew that Aria was trying her best. She was supporting his body and was moving slowly for a rather long period of time. [Aria, you can take a break if you feel like it] Pluto smiled and said in a voice which was filled with emotions showcasing love. [I¡¯m not tired Pluto, we should be out of here soon. I¡¯ll take a break when we¡¯re outside] Aria declined after hearing Pluto suggesting that. She didn¡¯t want to stay here anymore, she wanted to go outside with Pluto. Pluto sighed in a low voice but tried his best to move with his own power, but it was rather hard.     After they walked a few more minutes, they both saw a light coming out from the end of the tunnel! [Pluto, look! We¡¯re almost outside now!] [Yeah, let¡¯s try our best and get outside so we can both take a rest] Both Aria and Pluto were happy about being outside soon, they were breathing heavily, but continued walking. One step at a time, they moved closer and closer to the end of that tunnel they were in. Pluto and Aria were sweating and breathing heavily while walking these steps. They were so close! It became brighter and brighter the closer they came!


    [We¡¯re outside] Aria exclaimed when they came out, she didn¡¯t care where they were, but she suddenly just laid down on her back, of course also taking Pluto down with her. [Haha, yeah Aria. Thanks for doing your best, we finally managed to get outside now] Pluto who fell on his back didn¡¯t care about that and was looking at the sky. Pluto disliked being away from Aria, Pluto hated that person called David for doing these things to them, but all those emotions disappeared when he saw Aria. After a few seconds, he turned his head to the right. He became stunned, he didn¡¯t know what to say.


    On his right side was a wheelchair made out of wood, but that wasn¡¯t the surprising part. The surprising part was behind it, it was a large forest! It was green and there were trees covering the whole place! He calmed down a little and tried waking Aria up [Aria, it¡¯s time to wake up] Pluto tried waking Aria up, he didn¡¯t know how he should do it, as he has never done it before. He has been woken up by Aria a lot before, but he has never tried waking her up. Aria mumbled [Yes yes, just wait a moment] while Pluto was trying to carefully wake Aria up.


    [I¡¯m awake now, sorry for taking so long Pluto] Aria spoke after she rubbed her eyes. Pluto didn¡¯t speak, but waited for Aria to open her eyes and look around. When Aria finished rubbing her eyes, she looked at Pluto and smiled, Pluto rolled his eyes and said [Aria, would you mind looking around a little?] After he said so, Aria finally looked around and she looked in a daze, where were they? A wooden wheelchair and behind that, a large forest! [Where is this?] Aria spoke in a daze as she had no clue where they were at. [To be honest, I don¡¯t know where we are] Pluto spoke honestly as he sighed. [But don¡¯t worry, I¡¯ll quickly think of a few ideas] a smile appeared on Pluto¡¯s face as he started thinking again.


    Pluto started thinking aloud after a while [Mountain, cave, wooden wheelchair and a forest] Pluto had his eyes closed and thought of the things that has appeared while they were here. [Sigh] Pluto sighed and looked at the sky again, there was something he didn¡¯t see earlier! His mind started working again! [Aria, this might be a stupid question, but there weren¡¯t three moons before, right?] Pluto asked while he was still thinking about where they might be. [Huh? Three moons?] Aria didn¡¯t know what to answer and she followed Pluto¡¯s gaze and looking in the sky, opposite direction of the sun, were three moons. [Whaaaat?] Aria didn¡¯t know what to think anymore.


    ¡°David? White room? A new place or is this even a new planet?! Three moons.. These are all supernatural things happening¡± Pluto calmly tried to think about what could have happened. [Aria, I¡¯m just going to guess in a wild direction which might surely be true too. Don¡¯t you remember when we were somewhere, but lost conscious and woke up in a different place? But, that place was white. I¡¯m trying to say that this might be David¡¯s doing, first it was a white place, now it¡¯s a new place?] After hearing that, Aria finally remembered something important! [Ahhh!!] [What is it Aria?] [David said something, giving me three choices!] [Three choices?] [Yes yes! The first one, do you remember you were chained?] Pluto nodded, then Aria continued [The first choice was to leave you there and I could have returned home] Pluto¡¯s eyes went big after hearing that, but it came back to normal and he smiled. Because she surely didn¡¯t pick that choice as they were both together.


    [The second choice was that we were both sent home, but you would have died in a month¡¯s time] After Aria spoke, tears came out from her eyes. Pluto slowly nodded, then thought ¡°She must have picked the third option then! As, I¡¯m not dead, and we¡¯re not at home¡± [What was the third option?] Aria carefully thought before answering [He said earlier, he could save you and send us two to a beautiful place, it¡¯s a dangerous place, but a place where we both could be together and you¡¯ll be healthy] Pluto was shocked in the end ¡°This, this choice was so weird! Heal me and bring us to another place.. something isn¡¯t right here. Think, think logical! Everything leads to that David is not a human, is he a God? Is he the Devil? Are we in heaven? No, that can¡¯t be true, it¡¯s a beautiful but dangerous place. Hell? No, that can¡¯t be either. Can it be that, we¡¯re in another world?¡± Pluto finally thought it was weird but also sounded logical!


    [Hey Aria, if I said something crazy. Would you believe me?] Pluto slowly said and waited for Aria. Aria was confused but nodded and said [Yeah, I trust and believe you more than anyone!] Pluto breathed in and out a couple of times before resolving himself to say the next sentence which is the most logical thing that happened and also, it¡¯s not logical at all! [Aria, I think we¡¯re in another world] Pluto said those words rather slowly before staring at Aria. Aria¡¯s face changed from wondering, daze and confusion [What?]


    Pluto stared at Aria¡¯s confused look and sighed deeply ¡°A new world huh? Seems like a headache..¡±

 Chapter 5 - Danger! Enemy or ally?

    [So, you¡¯re saying that we¡¯re in a new world?] Aria tried her best to comprehend what Pluto said earlier. But she¡¯s still has her doubts. [I know it¡¯s hard to believe it, but this is what I currently think] Pluto nodded while answering Aria. [Before we do anything, why don¡¯t you help me on that wheelchair? Let¡¯s use that, so neither one of us gets tired] Pluto continued talking as it would be best to use what they currently had for their own benefits. Aria understood Pluto and helped Pluto up, they walked towards the wooden wheelchair. [What¡¯s this ring?] There was a ring on top of the wheelchair, it was a black ring. [Aria, could you give me that ring for a moment?] Pluto asked while he was thinking of something, he wasn¡¯t sure but he felt like he needed to touch it.


    Aria took the ring with her right hand and slowly made Pluto sit on the wheelchair, after breathing a deep breath she finally could relax again. She went in front of Pluto and gave him the ring [Here Pluto] Aria didn¡¯t care much about that ring, it did look a little pretty, but it wasn¡¯t beautiful. Aria put the ring on top of Pluto¡¯s left hand ¡°What is it about this ring?¡± Pluto tried thinking, he was filled with emotions when Aria gave him the ring. Emotions was filling him, anger, fury, fear, disgust and grief. Those emotions were so strong he didn¡¯t know what to do anymore, the emotions became stronger and stronger. Pluto was enduring all these emotions that were filling him up, but he couldn¡¯t endure it anymore, his eyes became watery and tears were running down his cheeks and dropping on his legs.


    [Pluto?! What¡¯s wrong?] Aria didn¡¯t know what happened, she only gave Pluto the ring and not long after he started struggling and crying. [Pluto, answer me! What happened?] Aria tried to talk and shake Pluto, but she felt like Pluto was already lost in his thoughts. His eyes were stuck on that ring! Aria tried to take a hold of the ring before Pluto tried shakenly reply [I think, I think I have seen this ring before]. Pluto tried his best to regain his composure, his emotions was getting more stable and he wasn¡¯t crying anymore.


    [What did you mean by you have seen this ring before?] After Aria saw that Pluto started to calm down again, she asked as it was a little strange. Wasn¡¯t this a new world? How could he have seen a ring in another world before? [I don¡¯t know, I truly don¡¯t know. But, I¡¯m getting a lot of emotions when holding and just seeing this ring. It feels special, it feels like I have seen it so many times before but I don¡¯t know where] Pluto tried his best to explain, but he couldn¡¯t even explain what was going on. ¡°What¡¯s so special with this ring? I know I have seen it before, but where? I just want to put this ring on my finger, it feels like I will understand a lot more just by that.¡±


    [Aria, could you, perhaps put that ring on my finger?] [I don¡¯t mind, but are you sure you can handle it? You went a bit crazy by just holding it.] Aria wanted to confirm before doing it [Yes, I¡¯m sure I can handle it. But, more than that, I feel like I can understand our situation by wearing it] Pluto explained what he was curious about. ¡°Understand our situation by just wearing it?¡± Even if Aria felt it was weird, she did as she was told. She picked the ring and held left hand up. [Not that finger, could you put it on my ring finger?] Pluto said so when he saw that Aria was going to put the ringer on his index finger. [Alright, just wait a little] Aria nodded, she put the ringer on his ring finger and blushed a little when she did so.


    After a few seconds not hearing anything, Aria looked up and saw Pluto¡¯s eyes were clenched shut. She became worried as she didn¡¯t know what was happening now. Pluto started to frown, he was biting his teeth together and he was clenching his eyelids very hard together. [Pluto, what¡¯s going on now?] Aria carefully tried to ask Pluto which was obviously suffering. A tired voice came out from Pluto¡¯s mouth [I seemed to have right Aria, this ring. I don¡¯t know anything about it yet, but I was given some small information when you put that ring on my finger] [Information?] [Yeah. For example, we¡¯re in another world as I guessed earlier, and yes, David did this to us] [How can we return?] Aria asked in a defeated manner [Sigh, there weren¡¯t any information about leaving. Just that we¡¯re in another world, that my body is healthy now and that both of us can get stronger with methods which wasn¡¯t listed down] [Are you sure you¡¯re healthy now?] Aria wanted to ask, as it was really important for her. [Truth be told, I feel like I have gotten better. My body doesn¡¯t hurt anymore, it¡¯s just weak and I feel tired after walking right now.] Pluto smiled as he said those words. [Yey!] Aria gleefully yelled out when she heard that Pluto¡¯s feeling better.


    [But, it¡¯s something I don¡¯t understand.] [What¡¯s that?] [You said that we can become stronger with methods that wasn¡¯t listed, but what does it mean to get stronger? Does it refer to being like a superman or wonder woman? And how are we going to find out about those methods?] Aria tried thinking about the stuff which interested her a lot too. [Strength can be different, but.. I think what you suggested might not be that much off. We have both seen television shows of people going to another world and gradually becomes stronger. And about those methods.. It¡¯s difficult to guess right, but if we follow those kind of logics, we should either get stronger by killing monsters or following a cultivation path.] Pluto tried answering the best he could while thinking about the few things he knew and seen before on television.This book''s true home is on another platform. What he saw was a forest, on the left side was a mountain with snow on it, but on the left for the mountain, was a wall, a city wall? [Aria, look over there, I think I have might found a city] Aria which also was looking around, found the city walls not long after Pluto spoke out. [It looks like this world doesn¡¯t have technology like ours did] Aria spoke what her first thoughts about the city wall.


    [That might be so, yes. Let¡¯s at least make this our first goal to go there. Perhaps we might find some clues. What my biggest worry is, how are we going to get through this giant forest, sigh] Pluto sighed while planning a little ahead, but it truly was problematic how they were going to get there. They would have to get there very slowly because of his incapability to walk. [Let¡¯s just follow the path down this mountain and slowly get there] Pluto spoke again before staring at Aria [Aria, would you promise me one thing?] Aria didn¡¯t know what to do, this was because Pluto¡¯s current mood was serious [What¡¯s the promise?] Aria asked timidly. [You remember that David said that this place is beautiful, which surely is. But, it¡¯s also dangerous. I can¡¯t walk and not run either. So, I can¡¯t do much by myself. If, if something happens that would require you to run, run for your life and forget about me, can you promise me that?]


    [What? No! I would never leave you alone just to save my own life] Aria denied Pluto¡¯s request without thinking twice, how could she leave him if something dangerous happens? She couldn¡¯t forgive herself if she did that. [Sigh, I know you wouldn¡¯t. But, it was worth a try] A gentle smile appeared on Pluto¡¯s face when he heard Aria deny him. ¡°I do enjoy Aria doing these things for me, but if something happens to her, I couldn¡¯t forgive myself for that. Just wait, when I get stronger, I¡¯ll look out for you¡± Pluto made up his mind and smiled gently at Aria before speaking up [Thanks for doing this for me, let¡¯s first slowly get out of this mountain and slowly get to the city. I¡¯ll also look out for berries and fruits, both of us should be hungry now I guess, haha]


    [I¡¯m not that hungry, I ate pancakes before coming here] [Oh, at least you got some food in you, that¡¯s a relief] [Wait, what do you mean at least me? Didn¡¯t you get to eat?] [Sadly no, but don¡¯t worry. You know I don¡¯t have to walk nor do anything special, so it¡¯s better that you have eaten and got some energy to walk around and push me with you] Pluto gave a gentle smile while looking at Aria. [But, aren¡¯t you hungry?] [Haha, don¡¯t worry Aria, let¡¯s try to focus on walking down this mountain. If I see any berries or fruits, I¡¯ll let you to pick them up for us, alright?] Pluto gave a small laugh then told her what he what he planned to do. Aria nodded in agreement after thinking about she couldn¡¯t do much even if she wanted to. They still had to walk down and walk to the city, that would require at least a couple of days so they still had to depend on fruits and berries on the road.


    [Pluto, are you ready to go? We¡¯re just going to follow this path down.] Aria asked while walking behind Pluto and intended to start walking down the path. Pluto nodded and carefully started to look around, he wanted to be ready for everything.


    After half an hour, Aria has already pushed Pluto¡¯s wheelchair halfway down the mountain, they were lucky they had a path they could follow. [Aria, remember, if you feel tired, don¡¯t push yourself. We still have a long way to go] Pluto reminded Aria before focusing on the front again. Even if Pluto wasn¡¯t doing anything which required physical strength, he was using his eyes and mental strength to find clues, berries, fruits and possible danger, he was tired from all of this, but he won¡¯t stop. [I¡¯ll take you up on that offer then] Aria smiled and stopped pushing Pluto''s wheelchair, she walked in front of Pluto and then sat down. [Are you sleepy Aria? If you are, you can sleep if you want] Aria looked around before replying [Ok, maybe just half an hour] Aria laid down and used her arm as a pillow and silently closed her eyes and slept.


    ¡°Now it¡¯s my turn, don¡¯t worry Aria, I won¡¯t let anything happen to you¡± Pluto was tired beyond his capacity, but he didn¡¯t close his eyes and sleep like Aria. Pluto focused more of what he could see and what he could hear. He needed to do so because he couldn¡¯t see what was behind him, he had to use his ears to notice any type of noises which might come behind them. As time went by, Pluto became more and more tired, he barely could open his eyes, but he still resolved himself to continue. The sun was starting to go down and Aria is still asleep, perhaps it has been an hour? Pluto didn¡¯t know that, he only focused on any potential danger which might endanger them both.


    His eyes were starting to close, it became harder and harder for him to keep them open. He felt like if he relaxed for a single moment, he would fall asleep! [Crack!] A sudden noise came from behind, Pluto eyes jolted open because of that sudden noise and spoke [Who¡¯s there?!] No reply was given, Pluto became worried that it might be an animal [Aria! Wake up and run!] Pluto yelled out, but Aria was still asleep. Pluto¡¯s face darkened and spoke out again [If you can understand me, please listen to this. We are no threat, if you are still looking for doing anything with us, take me, don¡¯t take this female in front of me. I can¡¯t move my body so I can¡¯t resist, I would do a lot better than this female which might roar out and try to run away]


    [Crack, tmp tmp tmp] Another branch snapped in half and footsteps followed after. Someone was closing in and they couldn¡¯t do anything. ¡°Is it an enemy or a friend?¡± Pluto didn¡¯t know who it was, but surely hoped they were friendly.

 Chapter 6 - The eleven race!

    [Aria, wake up and run away!] Pluto yelled, but to no avail, Aria was sleeping and didn¡¯t even react to his loud roar. ¡°Why isn¡¯t she even reacting? This is weird¡± Pluto was starting to get worried, on one side, there might be an enemy behind him, on the other side, Aria wouldn¡¯t wake up. Could she be poisoned? [Wait, you person behind me! Let¡¯s make a deal!] At that time when Pluto frustratedly spoke out, the footsteps stopped. Pluto continued [You should have used a poison or any other method to make the female in front of me sleep. So, you should have something you want. We don¡¯t have any things on us beside our clothes, so we can¡¯t give you food nor money because we have none! If you have had thoughts of kidnapping, killing, torturing or use us as slaves, take me! Don¡¯t take the female, I¡¯m willing to do anything!] Pluto roared out the last sentence before everything turned quiet.


    [Tap tap tap tap] Quick footsteps came from behind, ¡°Seems like I can¡¯t do anything¡± Pluto dejectedly looked down, he was sad that he couldn¡¯t do anything else. Pluto felt something stuck on his neck and his eyes turned black and he lost his conscious.


    Behind Pluto was a female, she had long blond hair which went down to her waist. She was tall and beautiful, her eyes were light green and she had pointy ears. The female spoke in a low voice [I¡¯m not sure what to do with those two, I¡¯ll bring them back and let the elders decide] then she looked at the male youth in front of her and spoke [And, what was with that person?] she glanced at the female sleeping on the ground [Are they related? Is he really willing to do anything for her?] The elven female was speaking to herself in a low voice while finally decided to take them back with her to the village. She picked up Aria and Pluto on each of her shoulders and looked down at the wheelchair, she remembered that the male couldn¡¯t move. After a while, she managed to lift both humans and the wheelchair, she looked towards the forest and directly jumped off the mountain which had an altitude of 150 meters.


    The elven female gracefully landed on top of a tree then kicked off and ran without showing a hint of tiredness. It took her an hour before she came back to the village. She didn¡¯t look at any people who was outside playing and doing their business, she walked towards the giant tree in the middle of the village. There were children and other people glancing at the two humans on her shoulders and the wheelchair, but they didn¡¯t say anything and continued what they were doing.


    The elven female went to the big house which was in front of the giant tree and knocked on it with her feet [I¡¯m coming, wait a second] an elder voice was heard inside the house [Creak] the door opened and an elder female came out of the house [Hello dear] before she continued talking she looked at the two humans on her daughter¡¯s shoulder [Why did you bring those two humans here?] [Let me tell you what I saw, then you will know why I brought them here] [Alright Shi¡¯Ka, come inside first, then tell me what happened] the elven female named Shi¡¯Ka nodded her head and went inside the house, she first went upstairs and laid down both humans in their own room, she also put the wheelchair in the male¡¯s room before she went downstairs. [Now Shi¡¯Ka, would you mind telling me what happened?] Shi¡¯Ka nodded to her mother.


    [When I was tracking the footsteps of the beast, I got on the Cliff Lia to scout ahead, but when I was scouting, those two humans got out of a cave. I hid myself to see what they were doing, but after they came out, both of them seemed glad and passed out. Around half an hour later¡­] Shi¡¯Ka continued to tell her mother what they were doing and some of their talk, Shi¡¯ka didn¡¯t manage to hear everything they were saying but she did hear some. [The male seems like he can¡¯t move by himself and is depended on the female to carry him and move him with a wheelchair¡­] Shi¡¯Ka talked about the time when they were walking down the mountain [when they were resting, I wanted to get closer and stepped on a branch, which made the male figure out someone was following them.] Shi¡¯Ka took a breath before she continued [The male tried waking the female up by telling her to escape] [He tried waking her up to escape?] Shi¡¯Ka¡¯s mother got a little confused and asked her daughter [Yes, the male wanted the female to escape, but she didn¡¯t wake up. In the end, the male thought I the enemy might have planned this and spoke that they didn¡¯t have anything on themselves and if I still wanted to do something, he offered himself and said to let the female go.] Shi¡¯Ka said those words slowly at the end as she wanted her mother to understand this. [So, this male is depended on the female, but he wants the best for her? Even if he has to sacrifice himself] [Yes, I think that¡¯s right] Shi¡¯Ka nodded and asked [I don¡¯t know what to do, they don¡¯t seem to be mean humans like those we have met.] Shi¡¯Ka¡¯s mother nodded and said [They sure are different from those we have seen, let¡¯s wait till they have woken up and we can talk. Good job Shi¡¯Ka] She stood up and caressed her daughter¡¯s face before walking out of the house [I will get some things ready, just stay here till they wake up] Shi¡¯Ka nodded and went upstairs again.


    ¡°Oh really? Why does this happen like every single day lately?¡± Pluto¡¯s head was hurting when he managed to wake up. He woke up in an unfamiliar place, what was above him was a wooden roof. ¡°So, this should be where they brought me. I hope Aria is fine. I hope nothing happened to her¡± Pluto hoped for the best, but prepared for the worst. He wanted to find any clues he could and think of any way he could get their situation on a better path ¡°Are they bandits? Knights?¡± Pluto carefully tried thinking of any possibility he could before he heard the door open up [Creak]. Pluto tried his best to move his head to the left, but couldn¡¯t and ended up not seeing the person who entered. [You¡¯re awake] Pluto heard a beautiful female voice, but he didn¡¯t rest because of this [Yes, I¡¯m up. Can you tell me where I am? What happened to the female who was with me before I got dragged here?] Pluto answered her and asked in return.     After being helped up, he was sitting on his wheelchair again. What was in front of Pluto was a female, she had white skin, blond hair which went to her waist, slim waist, green eyes, pointy ears and wearing a blue dress. [Now answering your previous questions, you¡¯re currently in the village of Alt¡¯hean, and the human female which was with you was also brought here] Shi¡¯Ka answered Pluto while looking at his face turn a little worse [What are you going to do with us? Didn¡¯t I say that I will do anything if you didn¡¯t hurt Aria?!] Pluto started to get angry, he can¡¯t do anything, and it won¡¯t help him either because he can¡¯t beat them either, but he still got angry. [We won¡¯t hurt you two, you don¡¯t have to get angry at us] [Then, what are you going to do with us?] Pluto asked in return without delay. [I don¡¯t know either, my mother the elder of this village will talk with both of you] Shi¡¯Ka answered and looked at Pluto again before asking [What¡¯s your name?] Pluto looked at the female in front of her then said [My name is Pluto, the female which was with me is called Aria]. Shi¡¯Ka nodded and went outside of the room, but before she could get outside a roaring sound came from Pluto¡¯s stomach.


    [Are you hungry?] Shi¡¯Ka remembered what they were talking about a little and asked again [Has it been long since you ate something?] Pluto nodded his head and said [It has been a while, yes] Shi¡¯Ka questioned Pluto again [Then, why didn¡¯t you tell me?] Pluto looked at her eyes at squinted his eyes before he spoke [Even after everything, you kidnapped us. Don¡¯t think I will trust you guys that easily] Pluto¡¯s voice started to get cold while he spoke those words. Shi¡¯Ka sighed and said [That¡¯s true, no matter what, I did kidnap both of you. I will be getting some food ready right now] Shi¡¯Ka went outside the room and walked downstairs to prepare something for Pluto to eat. ¡°Even if he can¡¯t move, he did have an astonishing aura around him when he got serious back there¡± Shi¡¯Ka thought for herself while walking.


    [Oh! I¡¯m tired, I need to start being nicer to others as Aria told me earlier, haha] Pluto laughed silly for himself while thinking he might have gone too far. Pluto closed his eyes and started to think about their situation. Those who kidnapped them doesn¡¯t seem to be bad people, but he still need to be careful.


    [Knock knock] There was two knocks on the door before Shi¡¯Ka entered the room again with a plate of cooked meat on it. [I have brought some food] Pluto looked at the dish, it looked great, he wanted to grab it and devour everything! Shi¡¯Ka placed the plate on Pluto¡¯s leg and looked at him, after a few seconds when Pluto didn¡¯t eat the food, Shi¡¯Ka asked [Don¡¯t you like meat?] Pluto looked at her before sighing and told her [I do like meat] Shi¡¯Ka turned confused and asked [Then, why don¡¯t you eat?] Pluto looked at her then himself and back at her [Because I can¡¯t move. I can¡¯t eat with my own hands] Shi¡¯Ka seriously looked at Pluto for a few seconds then asked [You can¡¯t move any part of your body, can you?] [I can move a little, but not much. I can move my head a little, but it¡¯s easier to nod than to shake my head] Shi¡¯Ka looked at Pluto without knowing what to do. Pluto saw the confused look in the female in front of him and said [If you don¡¯t know what to do, could you bring Aria here? She¡¯s usually the one who feeds me]


    [Do you want me to bring the female Aria here?] [I can¡¯t eat by myself, and it seems like you don¡¯t know what to do. I can¡¯t just ask you to feed me.] Pluto told her his thoughts and looked at the female again and spoke [Besides, what¡¯s your name? You know mine and Aria¡¯s name] [Shi¡¯Ka] Shi¡¯Ka spoke without thinking twice and she was thinking of something Pluto said earlier [So, if I feed you, it¡¯s alright?] Pluto looked at Shi¡¯Ka and gratefully answered [That would be helpful]


    Shi¡¯Ka picked up the meat with a wooden spoon and picked up what she could and lifted it up to Pluto¡¯s face. Pluto opened his mouth like nothing was bothering him, he only wanted to eat something. The spoon went inside his mouth and he the meat melted on his tongue, it was delicious! [So good!] Pluto¡¯s eyes were shining as he looked at the plate of meat, he gulped and stared at Shi¡¯Ka. Shi¡¯Ka nodded and used the spoon and fed Pluto everything on the plate. [It was great, it was wonderful, thanks for helping me eat the meal] Pluto thanked Shi¡¯Ka for helping him [It¡¯s the least thing I can do] Shi¡¯Ka nodded and placed the plate on the table. [You humans do eat a lot] [Us humans? Aren¡¯t you human too?] Shi¡¯Ka strangely looked at Pluto before asking [Are you joking with me right now?] Pluto looked seriously at Shi¡¯Ka before saying [No, I¡¯m not joking. You look like a human] Shi¡¯Ka pointed to her ears and said [I¡¯m an elf, elves normally have blond hair, pointy ears and green eyes.] ¡°Elf?! Sounds interesting¡± Pluto nodded and spoke [Then I¡¯m sorry for thinking you were a human] [You really didn¡¯t know I was an elf?] [No I didn¡¯t until you pointed those things out, I have never heard or seen elves before] [Never heard or seen about us?] Shi¡¯Ka gasped because the elven race and the human race was currently at a war against eachother right now. How could there be humans not knowing the elven race? Shi¡¯Ka shook her head and looked out of the window [The sun is going down; my mother will be coming back soon. I¡¯ll wake Aria up and bring both of you downstairs to talk with my mother.

 Chapter 7 - Decision

    Pluto was on the first floor waiting, he was looking out the window. It was a fairly nice village, it was covered in green and the natural light from the sun shined on the village unhindered. [Tap tap tap] He heard footsteps walking down the stairs


    [Pluto!] Aria ran over to him and pushed his wheelchair away from the window and turned it to the opposite side. Aria hugged Pluto and smiled joyfully [Are you doing fine Pluto?] [Yeah, I¡¯m fine. Shi¡¯Ka brought me some stuff to eat earlier and told me a few things. Besides, did you know that they were elves?] [Elves?! Really?] Aria turned over to Shi¡¯Ka and saw her nod. [We just have to wait here for a little while till Shi¡¯Ka¡¯s mother to arrive here and talk with us, remember to answer her questions if she asks you. I¡¯ll try to answer most of them myself, so you don¡¯t have to worry, alright?] Pluto spoke to Aria in a gentle manner while Aria was nodding several times. [Shi¡¯Ka, is your mother returning soon?] Shi¡¯Ka looked out the window and glanced at Pluto and Aria before speaking [She should be here any moment now].


    After waiting a few minutes quietly, the door opened with a [Creak] and another elf came in. She looked like an older version of Shi¡¯Ka, her blond hair, slim body, her height, skin tone and even her eyes. [You three must have waited for me] [Yes mother, we have been waiting for a little while here]. She looked over to Shi¡¯Ka and nodded before turning over to Pluto and Aria [Hello, my name is Ka¡¯Li and I¡¯m the high elder of this village] Pluto looked at Ka¡¯Li before speaking [I¡¯m Pluto, this is Aria.] [You seem to be angry, don¡¯t you?] [Let me ask you this then, would you be happy if you got kidnapped and found out that somebody can decide what they want to do with your life?] Pluto¡¯s voice became cold and unemotional. [Sigh, I¡¯m sorry for this happening. But, can we talk a little?] [Pluto, why don¡¯t we talk to her first?] Aria whispered to Pluto before looking timidly at Ka¡¯Li. [Alright Aria, I¡¯ll do as you say this time. Ka¡¯Li was it? Let¡¯s talk then. Ask me whatever you want]


    Ka¡¯Li sat down on a chair before looking at the people in the room. [Shi¡¯Ka, is there anything I should know before I start questioning them?] Shi¡¯Ka thought for a little moment before replying [There are a few things, it seems like Pluto and Aria haven¡¯t been in a human city before. As neither one of them has heard or seen elves before, they don¡¯t know about the current war too.] Ka¡¯Li looked weirdly at Pluto and Aria before asking [You really don¡¯t know anything about elves?] [No, we don¡¯t] [This is incomprehensible. Then, how did you get to Cliff Lia?] [Cliff Lia? That mountain we were on I guess? It¡¯s hard to explain, but the easiest way is to say that we didn¡¯t get to decide where we woke up. Someone else transported us here without us knowing] Pluto tried his best to talk his way out of this, as he didn¡¯t want to talk about being from another world. [Transportation magic? Now that¡¯s really hard] [Magic?! Does magic exist here?] Aria sound was loud, Shi¡¯Ka and Ka¡¯Li looked strangely at Pluto and Aria [Don¡¯t tell me you don¡¯t know that magic exists?] Shi¡¯Ka couldn¡¯t believe this, those two didn¡¯t know any basic thing.


    [No, we didn¡¯t know that magic existed. We just woke up in that cave after both of us got captured by a human] [Captured?] Aria was trembling and held Pluto¡¯s hand as she was currently remembering all the horrible things David did to them. [Sigh, yes. We got captured by a human, he was playing with us, afterwards we woke up in this cave. So, my guess is that he had enough fun and just transported us to a random place] [What do you mean by playing with you two?] Ka¡¯Li asked Pluto while staring at the duo, she clearly say that Aria was trembling. Pluto didn¡¯t answer her, but looked at Aria [Aria, are you alright? If you want, you could leave this room] Pluto asked Aria in a calm voice, he looked at her and waited for her to respond. [No, it¡¯s no need.] Aria held Pluto¡¯s hand and shook her head while trembling.


    Pluto looked at Ka¡¯Li and spoke about from start to finish about what they went through with David. He of course left out that they were in another world. Shi¡¯Ka¡¯s and Ka¡¯Li¡¯s face darkened over the time Pluto was explaining what they went through, an aura rushed out from Ka¡¯Li¡¯s body as she slammed the table in front of her into dust [How can someone be that crazy!?] Ka¡¯Li was agitated! She came from a village of elves, where they didn¡¯t use violence unless needed. Meanwhile Shi¡¯Ka had tears on her face while listening to Pluto¡¯s story. [Now you know why we were at Cliff Lia, is there any other questions?] Pluto¡¯s calm voice destroyed the mood as they were all tearing up, while Pluto was calm as he was just telling a fantasy story.


    [Tell me one thing Pluto, how can you be calm at this point? Are you not angry? Don¡¯t you hate that person for doing those things to you two?] Ka¡¯Li regained her sense and asked Pluto who didn¡¯t show a single emotion on his face. [Angry? I sure am. Hate? I sure hate him. What he did to Aria is unacceptable, I will have my revenge when the time comes. But, why do I stay calm? That¡¯s because I¡¯m not strong, so long I¡¯m not strong, I need to use my head and I need to stay calm to be able to think about every path, where they lead and the conclusion. I need to stay calm because it¡¯s the only thing I can do right now] Pluto finally spoke out what he really was going through. He was on the brink of fury, he hated David the most for hurting Aria.


    [I see, you really are interesting] [Then, what¡¯s your next question?] [It seems like you¡¯re handicapped, how much can you move your body?] Pluto squinted his eyes at Ka¡¯Li before slowly speaking [My body is better now. I can move with support, but it¡¯s hard. I can¡¯t do anything by myself yet.] Ka¡¯Li nodded. Pluto stared at Ka¡¯Li before asking [Tell me one thing, why did you ask me that if you already knew my body¡¯s condition?] Ka¡¯Li¡¯s eyes became larger before turning back to normal again [Seems like you knew, I wanted to see if you were honest or not] After Ka¡¯Li spoke, it became quiet.


    [Are there any other questions?] Pluto¡¯s cold voice spread out in the room. [This might be a personal question. But, why are you so cold to us? Do you hate elves?] This time, Shi¡¯Ka asked. Pluto didn¡¯t talk but stared at Shi¡¯Ka coldly, his black eyes became like ice, not long after she couldn¡¯t take it anymore and looked down, Pluto then started to stare at Ka¡¯Li intensely. A cold aura loomed over Pluto while staring at Ka¡¯Li. Shi¡¯Ka¡¯s arms were trembling by the cold aura in the room. [Pluto, calm down. I¡¯ll tell them, you don¡¯t have to think about it anymore, ok?] Aria suddenly spoke up and the cold feeling which was looming over Pluto started to vanish. Both Ka¡¯Li and Shi¡¯Ka breathed in relief when that happened.


    Pluto closed his eyes while Aria went in front of Pluto and looked at Shi¡¯Ka and Ka¡¯Li. [You might not know, but Pluto has been through a lot since he was born. Pluto¡¯s body was already weak when he was born, so he was alone till he met me when he was 16. I don¡¯t really want to talk about what exactly happened to Pluto¡¯s childhood, but it made him unable to trust anyone anymore. He treats everyone coldly.] Aria¡¯s eyes started to get moist when she thought of what she knew of Pluto¡¯s past. After hearing it from Aria, both Shi¡¯Ka and Ka¡¯Li finally understood the big picture. They really felt bad for Pluto and Aria.This story is posted elsewhere by the author.     Shi¡¯Ka glanced over to Aria and Pluto before turning over to her mother and spoke up [Mother, can¡¯t they live in Alt¡¯hean?] Ka¡¯Li didn¡¯t decline what she heard but thought for it a little bit. She didn¡¯t answer her daughter¡¯s question but looked at Aria and Pluto [If you got transported here, where were you going to stay? How were you going to obtain water and food?] This time Pluto opened his eyes and casually spoke out [We were heading to that city wall we saw from Cliff Lia, for water and food. Water should be obtained from a river, so we had to look for one I guess, and for food, I was on the lookout for berries and fruits.] [I just want to confirm something, Aria, you¡¯re not strong, nor can you use magic, right?] Aria looked at Ka¡¯Li before answering [No, I¡¯m not strong, nor can I use magic.] [Then, how were you going to manage getting to that city? What if you met a beast?]


    [If we had met a beast, I would have told Aria to run away] Pluto stared at Ka¡¯Li before calmly answering. [No, I¡¯m not going to leave you, no matter what Pluto!] Before Ka¡¯Li got to say anything, Aria yelled out. Ka¡¯Li looked dumbly at those two and spoke [So, you¡¯re saying that you two were walking randomly, had no real plan for obtaining water and food, also got no strength to defend yourselves with against enemies?] Pluto stared at Ka¡¯Li before nodding [If you say it like that, yes. It¡¯s just like how you explained.]


    [How can you be so careless?] [I¡¯m not careless, what else should we have done? Stayed inside the dark cave and waited till we died? I will always try my best to find the best possible solutions which is attainable. On one side, we could have waited till we died and on the other side was to try our best with hope of luck to get where we wanted.] Pluto calmly answered Ka¡¯Li questioning with his reasoning. [Sigh, if you say it like that, I don¡¯t really could have given a better solution either.] Ka¡¯Li retreated with a sigh and looked down on the floor.


    Eventually Ka¡¯Li looked up at Pluto and Aria which was also looking back at her. [After talking with both of you, finding about your situation, thinking about this case isn¡¯t really that easy. Sigh, Pluto and Aria, would you like to stay in this village?] Aria didn¡¯t answer, but looked at Pluto. She obviously would do what Pluto said. Pluto looked back at Aria before closing his eyes and started to think, while his eyes were closed he asked a question [What does this village obtain by doing this? I heard the elves are at a war against humans, will you eventually use us as war prisoners?] [No! We would never do something like that] Shi¡¯Ka answered hurriedly, but Pluto didn¡¯t care about that, he opened his eyes and stared at Ka¡¯Li, both Shi¡¯Ka and Aria also started to look at Ka¡¯Li.


    [I have not thought of those things. What I¡¯m offering is what I feel is right] before even a second passed, Pluto questioned again [Then, what¡¯s our position in this village? Let¡¯s say if the humans arrive here and wage a war, would we be left behind?] Ka¡¯Li looked down and thought for a while [Before I answer, have you already thought of how this conversation is unfolding?] [Yes, I have. Now, give me your answer] [Then, how about, if we need some help, we will ask you for your thoughts] [Like an advisor?] [Yes] Ka¡¯Li nodded.


    [So, you finally thought of how you can use me? Took you long enough time. After all the hints I tried to give you] Pluto looked at Ka¡¯Li, it looked like everything was planned from the beginning. [From when did you plan this? I really want to know] Ka¡¯Li looked at Pluto and wanted to understand him, she couldn¡¯t see through him at all.


    [This scene unfolded in my head when I woke up] Pluto started to smile and continued to talk [Why do you think I told her some of our situation when she was with me alone? That is because she would most likely tell you about this, in private or in front of us.
