《Soulborn》 chapter - prouloge It was raining hard. I take a look around, there were around 30 people in the large school bus. I was in the far back while they were up close. The humidity was suffocating. With the rain, and clouds in the sky, very little light escapes through the windows into the bus. I heard a faint whisper, as if it was from my own mind. I look around, so does everyone else. As for why we needed to summon you I must give you some knowledge of our world¡±(GM) ¡°But before that let us move to somewhere more¡­.appropriate¡±(GM) As we are led out of the summoning room and down a long corridor with large windows I could hear the oooo and awwws, that the others were making, and I couldn''t blame them. Out of the windows were rolling hills full of green grass, being able to see the occasional small animal, to describe the sight one could only use words such as, serene and beautiful. So pure that you would not be able to find such a scene in our world. Then David, the popular kid, stands up and said ¡°I plan to help them! Then as if almost on cue, the grand magus walks back in. ¡°We will help you!¡±(David) The old man smiles as he looked at them ¡°Good, good now come with me and we will get your aptitudes tested¡±(GM) chapter - 2 aptitudes, and meting the royal family We follow the grand magus to yet another room this one had another person waiting in their. He was a middle aged man with a scar or two on his face wearing what looks like full plate armor that was giving of a faint glow. ¡°Hello I am the captain of the royal guard, and the strongest knight in the kingdom¡±(knight captain) ¡°He will be here to observe the results and see if anyone has the potential to be taught the way of the knight, now for the test¡±(GM) He shepherds us up onto a platform with a shoe pedestal with a cushion with an orb on resting on it. ¡°All you have to do is put your hand on the orb and it will tell us what your spirit is on this paper. ¡°(GM) David walks up and puts his hand on the orb and it starts shining, along with the paper ¡°Flame emperor, a lion that a high affinity for fire. You will make an excellent leader! And what was your name?¡±(GM) David tells him his name then the knight writes something down on some paper on a stone tablet. {author: a medieval clipboard} the others do the same as David with the grand magus asking their names and the knight writing something down after. We then move into a large throne room with a slightly older man with gold hair with some gray, but that only served to make him more defined, and next to him sat a simerly aged woman with silver hair, not an elderly gray, but silver and blue eyes. He had four children the oldest being a 20-ish man with gold hair and grey eyes. The next was a 17-ish silver haired, blue eyed girl, the other two are 14-ish golden haired twins. ¡°Welcome heroes, I am john triven alpha the king of this fair land and I welcome you. This is my family, my wife queen Sofia Dublin alpha, my son handson triven alpha, my eldest daughter Elizabeth triven alpha, and my youngest daughter''s Emilia, and amelia. I thank you for helping us in our time of need, do not worry you will be compensated for your efforts, you shall receive training, shall be allowed to stay here in the castle, sand will be granted money, titles, land, and more after you have succeeded. Now I am sure you all must be tired after all this so you shall now be shown to your rooms.¡±(king) A line of maids come in after, and I don¡¯t mean maids like in the animes I mean real maids. We are then ushered down some hallways before being lead into a large room with couches, and seats, and many doors on it, then a woman who looks to be the head maid said ¡°This is the common room, these doors lead to your rooms. The key in the lock it to that room choose the room you wish and take the key¡±(head maid) Me and everyone else goes to a door and takes a key, on the key was a number corresponding to the door¡¯s. Mine was 16. I go through to find a big bed with tables to the side there is a dresser, for storing clothes, there is also a door that leads to a bathroom that looks up to modern standards, probably made by magic I look in the mirror to see myself¡­ I look the same as always, I have short brown hair, that will probably grow like wild fire in the next month, blue eyes the shade of cobalt. I¡¯m very tall probably around six foot-something with broad shoulders. I¡¯m not muscular, and I''m not quite thin but somewhere in between. I use the bathroom, and wash my hands with something that looks like but not quite soap, then go to bed almost immediately after getting in, with the stress from all this finally kicking in. chapter - 3 first day of training part 1/2 *ding ding ding* I wake up with a start. I''ve never been a morning person but the loud bell noises woke me up good. I look over and see on the dresser is a set of clothes, a maid must of put it there¡­ and I didn¡¯t even hear them. maids are scary. After changing clothes I walk outside, and see everyone else is doing the same with the guys wearing a loose shirt made of some silk like materials, and pants made of a hard thread. The girls are wearing sleeveless shirt and a knee length skirt with tall socks. the knight captain was here and said ¡°You will begin training now, for the first two hours everyday you will be doing a basic workout, then training to use your spirits, and finally specialized training depending on your spirit¡±(knight captain) We then proceeded to go outside to a training field. ¡°First a light warm up. Twenty laps!¡±(knight captain) I miss the comfy bed¡­. __________________________ After the laps the girls and boys split to the opposite sides of the field and start doing physical training for the boys, training meant to train strength and speed, the girls did training to increase agility and flexibility. Afterwards we were all exhausted with some of us even passing out. A lot off the boys complained about the girl¡¯s shirts not being see through from the sweat, i on the other hand was more preoccupied from the burning inferno that is my body. ¡°Good job for a first time, but it will only get harder. Now go rest in the baths and change clothes.¡±(knight captain) He pointed towards two doors one pink the other blue, it was obvious who''s who''s. I got through the blue door and see a large steaming bath of water with a bin and rack, the rack had clean versions of the ones we were wearing. We all get into the bathes, some of us taking off our clothes others not. After ten or so minutes we climb out and change, mostly because someone ripped a loud fart and was stinking up the place. After scrambling out we were in a similar feld, why do they need to have two of the same field? The grand magus was here and started talking ¡°Now it¡¯s time to learn how to use your spirits, there are three ways to utilise them, synchronization, unleashing, and summoning, The difficulty to use is in that order. Synchronization is where your spirit and body synchronize giving it the same properties as the spirit, such as claws, fangs, and wings. Unleashing is when you use a skill from your spirit. I swore it felt like seconds¡­ i look at myself and i see i have claws, my hands ending in white, sharp claws, not the usual fleshy round tips they were before. I look around and see everyone with there eyes closed, scrunched up faces, some even grunting. Then a few minutes later they start to manifest. Some got animal ears, some grew in size, and some even got fangs sticking out of there mouths. All but davit who one or two minutes later got red fur growing out of his neck making a lion-like mane. ¡°Good job all of you, especially david! You took the longest, and it is harder to manifest stronger spirits!¡±(GM) ¡°Now i want you to try and stay in this form as long as you can, it is hard to stay in this form at first but you will get the trick eventually¡±(GM) You could see some struggling to stay like this some even already passed out looking exhausted, but for a different reason than before. --------------- I was kneeling on the ground vision blurring, just trying to keep this form a little longer. Then i had to let it go, before rolling onto my back, laying down on the ground. I turn my head with what little energy i had, and see most are in the same state as i was. When everyone was dead and on the ground, the grand magus begins to talk. ¡°For a first time that was great for all of you-¡±(GM) I lose consciousness when he started When i wake up we were on the field. It seems i passed out only for a minute because the grand magus was still talking. ¡°-but enough about that! Now! We are going to go into specialized training¡±(GM) It seems i didn¡¯t miss a lot of important things, while i was out. He starts splitting us up some go back to the field we were in before while some move into a new door. I was with the group who went through the door. We sat down in a room with desks, and seats. A classroom. I sit down at a desk in the back. On the table were some things i didn¡¯t know what did, mainly three, what look like gem shards. One red, one blue, one yellow. ¡°You here are ones with spirits that have a possibility to use magic. In front of you are three magic shards, magic shards are just that. Shards of magic gems. Magic gems have many purposes, but when broken they react to the prospect of use, or what is essentially potential for that school of magic. Touch them and say the results please.¡±(GM) I touched them each, and they all started to glow. Brightly! ¡°Oh! You have a high potential! david!¡±(GM) The grand magus saw his crystals glow. They weren''t glowing as bright as mine, but he was looking towards david at the time and didn¡¯t see mine. ¡°All mine glowed!¡±(me) By the time he looked over the glow had faded. ¡°Good, you will do good.¡±(GM) He obviously wasn''t as impressed with me as he was with me as david. But i didn¡¯t care, i didn¡¯t need to be in the spotlight. So i didn¡¯t say anything. And the magic training began. chapter - 3 first day of training part 2/2 The grand magus began speaking ¡°The three different colored crystals each represent a different magic. Yellow is the most common, so most of you have potential in it. Blue is holy magic, and allows you to harness the powers of the gods, the gods you can use differ. And finally red lets you use arcane magic, the most broad of the magic systems. Today we will be focusing on basic magic theory, that no matter what system of magic you use you need to know this.¡±(GM) He looks around to see that we''re still following, then began again. ¡°Magic is changing the properties of the world via mana. Mana is an energy that exists in between worlds, and feeds into ours. And those that can''t, use that magic system, will go extra through physical training.¡±(GM) Those with affinity for only one system had a dead look in there eyes. We then went to a large mess hall type place and had a meal of hard black bread, some thin soup, and water. But after today i would take anything. After diner we still had about 2 hours till we go to bed, so we had weapon training. We went out to the training field. we were told to choose a weapon, some of the boys tried to choose two swords, but were told while they could do it, it would be very hard compared to most others. David choose a longsword, and a small kite shield, just in case you were wondering. I choose a longsword and a dagger, the dagger to parry, and the sword to attack. We started training, and because i choose the sword i was assigned into a group who would be trained how to use one. It was the biggest group, mostly because swords were popular with most of the boys. We swung downwards. I¡¯m not joking that''s all we did. we had to swing our swords, at full strength, in an overhead swing, stopeing it right before it hit the ground. They said it was to familiarize ourselves to the weapon. Somehow i struggled through it, but in return I had jelly arms, but at least most of the others did too. I some how used my legs to get my room¡¯s door open before falling into bed, and worming my way completely onto the bed. I then sleep. chapter - 4 common magic I wake up, and like yesterday i find a pair of clothes on the dresser so after taking care of the morning business i change and leave the room. We were lead to the field and did the same basic workout we did yesterday, and training our spirits, but we didn''t make much progress. we were, then again, split up, with me in the classroom group again. But when we got there, there were only chairs put in a circle. Inferring what we were supposed to do, i sat down in one. The others did too and so the grand magus went into the center and began speaking. ¡°Today we will be doing the magic system circle magic, or as most refer to it as, common magic, because almost everyone has talent in it. This system of magic mostly relies on the world''s natural mana, which is stimulated by your own mana, and conducted through a magic formation. Today we will begin with teaching you all how to sense and use magic power. So to start i want you all to look within yourselves and sense for it. The epicenter of magic in your body, or magic core is at your lower abdomen. And the mana should feel calm and cool¡±(GM) I do as he said and look within myself. I see the dragon/doren inside me, but this isn¡¯t what i was looking for so i put it aside, but not before noticing it looked like it was sleeping. I concentrate, but can¡¯t seem to find it. ¡°Well done david!¡±(GM) I open my eyes to see david¡¯s shoulder being patted by the grand magus. It seemed he found his core first. Ignoring him and everyone else i look inside myself again, and concentrate HARD. i see something but it wasn''t like what he said. It looked like a sphere, but that wasn¡¯t what was different. The grand magus said it would look calm and cool, while this was strong and fierce. It also looked almost prideful. Like it couldn¡¯t be controlled. But then i see in the opposite side of my body was yet another sphere, but this one was about a quarter of the other sphere, and like the grand magus said, was calm and cool. This must be my magic core. But if that''s true then what was the bigger one then? I didn¡¯t know but since i already discovered my core i open my eyes and said. ¡°Grand magus, i¡¯ve seen my core¡±(me) ¡°Good you were the third that did so.¡±(GM) I look and see that other than david and me another person had their eyes open. It was a girl, it was amelia, or amy for short. She had a rich brown eyes, and long, light auburn hair. She was the type of girl who was shy, but when she got set on something she rarely gave up. Now that i had finished i decided to just relax and think of nothing. After what was about 5-10 minutes everyone else had about grasped it. The grand magus began to speak again. ¡°Now that everyone has sensed there cores, we will begin with the circles. As i said before we use our mana to activate the circle as to channel the world''s mana to do a purpose. Such as this one¡±(GM)This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. As such¡±(GM) He then sets the paper on his hand and then a fire burns above the paper. The fire was about the size you would see from a match, or a lighter. ¡°Now this one is simpler and thus costs little mana to activate now under your chairs there is a similar one, pick it up now.¡±(GM) I feel around and indeed there was a slip of paper under there. I pick it up and place it on my hand like he did ¡°Now, i want you all to focus on your core and look for the liquid-like mana in there. Then imagine it flowing into your chest, then arm, then hand, and finally into the paper¡±(GM) I look into myself and see my core, i look at the blue core, and after feeling around it i see the liquid. Then as he said i guided it through my body into the paper. And feel a small heat there. I look and see the flame, flickering in my hand above the paper. I look around and see the others lit their flames about the same time i did. Everyone looked at the magical flame. The grand magus spoke again. ¡°Good! It seems you all picked this up easily! No Wonder you are all the legendary heroes! Now that you all have gotten used to using mana, and your cores, let''s use the rest of the time to talk about how to make magic circles. Now the way magic circles work is-¡±(GM) The grand magus then proceeded to give a long winded explanation of how magic circles work. Sense most of it is math and the meaning of symbols, most of the students¡¯ minds started to drift. Luckily i¡¯m the type that can focus on things that catch my interest, and magic? I find that very interesting. But magic circles boil down to this
  1. The circle is essentially a start button, and it also allows you to pour mana into it.
  2. The first symbol in the circle is a command, such as ¡®go forward¡¯ or ¡®stay floating¡¯
  3. The second circle is a property or element, like ¡®fire¡¯ ¡®wind¡¯ ¡®force¡¯
  4. The third symbol is either a secondary element, or a second command, such as if the property is ¡®fire¡¯ and has a secondary element is ¡®force¡¯ it will make an explosion
  5. The more symbols the more mana it takes to realize
  6. The more profound the command, or element the more mana it takes
  7. The stronger the circle the better the material it needs to work, if material is too low a quality, it will give a lessened effect, and destroy the material.
So after teaching us some basic commands, and properties he told us to make one or two basic circles as to get used to the combinations. I made two circles. My first was a gust circle, or a ¡®forward¡¯ ¡®wind¡¯ circle that made a gust of wind appear, though it was only strong enough to blow some papers. My second one was a drink circle being a ¡®stay floating¡¯ and ¡¯water¡¯ to make a sphere of water float into the air. The drink circle is most commonly used to make a drink of water when there is no other source. Other people made their circles to. But now that we finished, with magic class, for today we headed to the mess hall for another dinner similar to the first day. And finally weapon training. I was again, in sword swinging time. And so was the second coming of the jelly arms. And i head back to my room, and i decided to take a shower before bed. I take off my clothes, and hop into the shower that was made of some thin crystal that was somewhat see through, to the amount where you can see a blurred figure but not much else. The water was cold at first, but with the burning of my bones, and muscles it was welcomed. But as it heated up i start cleaning myself with the oil in a container. If i remembered oil was used before soap in greece right? I think so. So after cleaning myself i climb into bed too tired to put my clothes back on before i was embraced into a deep sleep. chapter - 5 holy magic aptitude test For the third time i wake up in this fancy room. I think i¡¯m getting too used to this too fast. But i¡¯ve always been fast to adapt, and also i¡¯m learning magic! Who wouldn¡¯t be pumped! Because i got pumped up from what i just thought to myself i quickly change and leap out my door. On a table was a note saying we should head to the field as soon as we wake up. Seeing this i dash over to the field, still filled with energy. When i get there i realize i was the first to get there. But the knight captain was already there. He looked over to me and asked ¡°Oh? And why are you over here so early?¡±(knight captain) ¡°I had a bit too much energy in me this morning so i thought i would get an early start!¡±(me) I said enthusiastically! ¡°Ha! Ha! It¡¯s good to see kids today still have so much energy! Ok then! I¡¯ll put you through extra training!¡±(knight captain) I¡¯m vary disappointed in myself for coming here early. It was torture! Much harder than the regular training i was put through before. But the worst part is when the others came about ten minutes later they still went through the standard training, while i still had to continue my special training. And on top of that. After we were through with our morning workout the knight captain said something terrible to me ¡°Good job nick! Come here tomare at the same time you did today!¡±(knight captain) I could only respond with a ¡°Yes captain...¡±(me) Ah! My life is hell¡­ but at least physical training is over. Wait i still have spirit training. Spirit training was hell with my already exhausted body. But now magic training! That requires no physical use at all right? ¡°Today we''re going to channel magic in our bodies and run a lot!¡±(GM) [warning this was not actually said. This was just a joke. ;P] Instead of going to the classroom we went to before, we went to a aulter room. And instead of the grand magus, there was a pope-ish looking elderly man in white robes with white hair, even including a long beard. ¡°hello there i am the pope of the church of man. And today i¡¯m going to explain the relations of the gods, and see which gods have blessed you. Now it all started around-¡±(the real pope) So do all old men give long winded speeches? Because if they do, i want to do that too when i become an old man! Well anyway the jist of what he said was¡­
  1. No one knows how old the world is but it is estimated to be a hundred thousand years old.
  2. In the beginning there was only the void that exists between all of the other already existing worlds, then ours came into existence.
  3. The world had five gods, fire, water, earth, air, and void(magic)
  4. Each one had its own domain, but the world was mostly made of earth, so the god of earth believed it was the most powerful and should lead the other gods.
  5. The world was covered in water, so the god of water believed it should lead the others and was the most powerful.
  6. The air existed above the land and sea so it believed it was the most powerful, and should lead the gods.
  7. The fire burned everything it touched and thus, believed it was the most powerful, and should lead the gods.
  8. The void god was truly the most powerful and thus it did not care for the affairs of other gods.
  9. The four elemental gods raged a war. The earth was scorched, drowned, blown away, and buried.
  10. The void god could not stand to see their beautiful world ravaged by war, so he used his powers to bring all life into the world. Plants, animals, monsters, and all the sentient races.
  11. Because of this the void god was also known as the god of life.
  12. The void god told the other gods to not directly intervene in the world but instead use the mortals to fight.
  13. A great war was fought. Nobody knows who one, but nobody cared. After the war ended the world survived. And although the gods were not on the best of terms they were at peace with each other.
  14. then, new gods were born one for each of the sentient races. The god of humans, the god of demons, the god of elves, and the god of beastmen.
  15. Unlike how it sounds demons aren''t evil and live at peace with the other races.
  16. Hundreds of years later a race from a race of monsters called dragons, somehow, even though no one knows how one ascended into a god. From that day forward the dragons were considered a sentient race different from monsters.
  17. Many other gods were born, for many different realms such as money, or blacksmithing.
  18. No major wars were made after the first great war.

But the strange part is one of them is just question marks, gods usually only hide their domain¡±(the real pope) ¡°Oh, then what about the god of pride?¡±(me) ¡°Ah! Pride is one of the seven holy sins!¡±(the real pope) ¡°Seven holy sins?¡±(me) ¡°Well you see there are seven holy sins in the world. Each are what makes us human, and are good for us to have, and pride is one of them. But each of the holy sins have a dark side, such as pride has arrogance, envy has obsesion, and wrath has revenge.¡±(the real pope) ¡°And the god of combat? What''s different about that compared to the god of war?¡±(me) ¡°Well the god of war is more about big scale battle, while the god of combat is more about one on one fights¡±(the real pope) Oh so that''s what they means, but those ??? gods still unnerve me. What could it mean. But it seems time was up because we headed back to eat food. And after that food, we did yet again¡­ weapon training, some of the others complained that all we were doing was swinging a sword, they were given a long, and i mean half-hour long speech about the importance of getting familiar to your weapon. But i think i understand what the soldiers mean. I think just by doing this i understand how to swing a sword better. But that didn¡¯t make this any less tiring. And with the stress of the extra workout this morning, i was just so so tired. I just gotta sleep. must! get! to! the bed! *thunk* chapter - 6 arcane magic and dueling I feel so sore! Not to the point where i can¡¯t move, but to the point where it¡¯s hell to do so. But i told the captain i would come early every day, and i don¡¯t go back on my promises. So i change and head on down to the field, before everyone else. ¡°It¡¯s good to see you kept your promise nick. Now let''s begin training.¡±(knight captain) ¡°Yes, sir.¡±(me) Similar to yesterday, i did a much harder workout than all the others even after they came to the field. And then in spirit training other than getting more used to our other form not much happened. But today magic training was in the courtyard. and the grand magus was here today. ¡°Today we will be working on, what is arguably, the strongest and most divers magic. Arcane magic! Arcane magic has two forms, script, and image. Script is using an ancient language to invoke magic, whil image uses your imagination to realize magic. Each form has its own advantage! With script uses mana more conservatively, image is faster, and has a wider range of use. Today you will be learning some basic words from the magic language. Now the words are in a list over there.¡±(GM) He then pointed towards a stack of papers on a desk. Everyone pics on up, and it looked like this. ¡°So just say the words with the intention of invoking a spell, such as [fasai boluto]¡±(GM) {fire bolt} When he finished saying the spell a flame, in the shape of a cylinder, floated in front of him. It then flew towards a target across the field. ¡°So start practising now! And please don¡¯t aim towards others.¡±(GM) So as he said, the others and I started practising. [waizu boluto] {water bolt} [waze boluto] {wind bolt} interestingly enough, the wind bolts came out as a green wind. ¡°So now that you have learnt some attack magic, here''s some defensive magic.¡±(GM) He then pointed towards another stack of paper which had...Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions. ¡°Let me demonstrate [mazu wabe]¡±(GM) {mana wall} A light blue wall appeared in front of him. We then tried ourselves. [mazu shirudo] {mana shield} When a shield spell is used, it made a dome around the person, and even followed them. ¡°[Mazu wabe]¡±(me) {mana wall} I made a mana wall and then ¡°[mazu boluto]¡±(me) {mana bolt} Shot a mana bolt at the wall, and the wall didn¡¯t break After a few minutes of us raging around, most of us were slumped on the ground dazed. ¡°And as you see this is mana exhaustion. As it sounds you will get mentally tired if you use too much of your mana!¡±(GM) After what seemed like hours, but was probably about ten minutes, we were back on our feet. ¡°Now for some combat training!¡±(GM) At the sound of this we were all excited! I mean we were summoned as heroes!, but all we¡¯ve been doing is studying, and running! Now we can do something exciting! ¡°It will be a one on one match, you each will project a mana shield, and launch spells at each other, when a shield is broken, the duel is over! Now anyone want to give it a try?¡±(GM) ¡°I¡¯ll do-¡±(david) ¡°I challenge nick!¡±(triston) David was going to volunteer but triston cut him off. Now for who triston is, well he¡¯s one of the fue hardcore bullies that still exist in the u.s. And he seems to hate me¡­ yah i¡¯m bullied. But you might have some questions like, why you? Why haven¡¯t you done anything about it?, or why hasn¡¯t he been bulling you since you got to the new world? Well to answer those questions in order the answers are, i have no idea probably none, because i don¡¯t care, and he hasn¡¯t really done anything really bad. And finally, he¡¯s probably too tired from the morning training. ¡°I accept!¡±(me) Who knows maybe i¡¯ll win? So we stand at opposite sides of the field. We both cast mana shield, and ¡°begin!¡±(GM) [waze boluto](me) {wind bolt} [fasai boluto](triston) {fire bolt} We both fire bolts at each other, when the bolts collide, they make a small explosion, producing more smoke than anything [????](triston) {?????} I couldn¡¯t hear what triston said but i think he was casting a spell so i cast one too [Waze wabe](me) {wind wall} The wind wall sucked in all the smoke, but while this was happening i jumped over the was while casting another spell [waizu boluto](me) {water bolt} I see triston looking confused as he sees me jump over the wall which had collected the smoke making a black wall, and his, what i know saw was an, earth bolt. As my water bolt flies at him he couldn''t react in time as the water bolt splashed at his sheild. I don¡¯t give him a rest as i try out an idea i had, i run up at him and cast a wind wall [waze wabe](me) {wind wall} The wind wall appears in front of him, and he falls backward in surprise. I kick the ground hard blasting me backwards as i cast a spell [fasai boluto](me) {fire bolt} The fire bolt hits the wind wall, making a plomb of fire and smoke blast at him. Hah! Just a i thought! When i saw the fire and wind bolt make a cloud of smoke i thought this might happen! The smoke dissipates, and reveals triston laying on the ground with no mana shield. ¡°The duel is over! Good job nick! That was an excellent use of magic! Triston you panicked too much, otherwise that would have been a much more evenly match.¡±(GM) It seems triston was butt hurt, both literally and figuratively. As he glared at me while rubbing his behind. The rest of class was some more duels, and practising the spells. Afterwards the rest was normal, with eating dinner, and weapon swinging practiseing. Then bed. again chapter - 7 weapon training and time skip So i woke up same as every other day here. Head over to the field early, and do the special training, and at spirit training somthing happend. I got scales! On my arms. It seems i reached the point where i not only get claws, i also get scales up to my elbow! But enough about that. In magic training we practice common magic, and learnt some more shapes. But the best part of today was the weapon training! We actually started training! So we got to the weapon field. And in a row was some knights with the captain standing of at the side. ¡°Today you have all gotten used to your respective weapons, so we will now begin training. Go to the captain that is using your prefered weapon. Of course you may change weapons, but training will be much harder.¡±(knight captain) Each knight had a different weapon. Halberd, spear, chain and sickle, duel swords, sword and shield, great sword, bow, dagger, and some other weapons. I was going to walk over to the sword and dagger knight, but the knight captain pulled me over and said ¡°oh no no no! I will be training you. And the first weapon will be duel swords. It will help you raise your dexterity, and you will gain some level of ambidextroury.¡±(knight captain) While the others trained with the knights i trained with the knight captain, now i¡¯m sure you''re all wondering, nick, how hard is your training compared to the others? Well i would love to tell you, but i have to concentrate fully on the training; that is how hard it is. He had me stand with with both swords, then he pushed, pulled, and prodded my body to get it into a stance, that held me low to the ground, and had my left hand sword pointed up with my hand at my knee, my right hand sword was parallel to my eyes. He had me hold that stance for the entire time. It was two hours! My knees, and arms were in hell! The next day when magic training came around it was time to actually learn how to use holy magic. Now i have four gods, i don¡¯t know two of them, and from what the pope told me the god of pride is a circumstantial god. Now what that means is that they don¡¯t have any spells i can actively use but i will get a boost under the right circumstances. As for the god of combat, you can only use the holy power to boost my physical body. So most of the time was me doing that. As for david, he practised the god of war, allowing him to survey a battlefield, so they had him lead a team in some mack battles. Then weapon training again, this time he had me stand in another stance. This time i was leaning forward, both swords pointing upwards, with them to the sides of my hip. By the end instead of my legs, this time my back was in agony. The others i saw moving while learning how to properly swing their weapons. I had five stances i had to learn and stay in for an entire session. the first one i learned was meant to parry, and counter an attack. The second stance was to attack forward at any time, the third was to retreat at any time, with me leaning forward left foot out, and swords facing forward level to my chest. The fourth is to defend an attack. With my body slightly bent, swords in an X shape in front of my head. And lastly a stance to all out attack, my right arm straight out sword parallel to my chest, left arm pointing left with the elbow bent at a 90 degree angle, sword in a reverse grip. On the sixth and seventh day i started doing mack battles against the knight captain. He would constantly point out my mistakes or advice during it. As for magic, in common we learnt many symbols to make spells, in holy magic i got more used to my enhanced body strength, more specifically learning my limits. And arcane we learned for image the cost of doing certain things. As for scripted we learnt some more words and how to use them. The word we learnt were. Most of these words were what is called chain words, or words meant to connect other words to boost power like [oa swoku fasai boluto] {oh swift flame bolt} Is faster than [swoku fasai boluto] {swift flame bolt} We had more duels like when we first learnt scripter, but i wasn¡¯t challenged much¡­ because i¡¯m not popular? Or because i¡¯m too strong? But today after all that in weapon training we started dueling. Triston challenged me, whether he wanted to reclaim his pride, or because he felt i was weak i don¡¯t know but he did. We stood across from each other. He was using a sword and shield, and was in an offensive stance. I start in stance one. ¡°start!¡±(knight captain) Triston dashed in, and slashed at me from my upper right to my lower left. I use the flat of my left sword to bash his sword knocking it up off course. I then attacked with my left blade going in for an uppercut on his left flank. He staggers back, and puts up his shield. I go into fifth form, and do a whirlwind slash. It presses his shield outwards i continue with stabbing my swords forward, he tries to use his sword to parry while dodging the other. My left sword hits the side of his flank. But due to being a blunt wooden sword it only bruised him. He goes for a vertical slash from top to bottom. But i catch his sword with stance four. I then use my swords like scissors to lock in his blade. I then spin my blades to through his sword. And the duel ends, With it being my win. But it was kinnda obvious that it would end this way, he was allot slower than the captain. so i had the advantage the entire time! and so i go to sleep just as every other day. chapter - 8 how to rank monsters and dungeons So just like the rest of my days here i wake up. Go train, practice some magic, and when it comes to weapon training, we seem to be learning weapon skills. Material arts? What are martial arts you ask? Well, think of sword skills from ¡®sword art online¡¯. It¡¯s like the sword arts in that! The concept seems to be about, using the dormant energy stored in your entire body. It seems you have to open up pathways. But the only way we can open it is by being in a dangerous situation. So we will be going on a dungeon raid! Yep you heard me, a dungeon! A dungeon is a mass of mana in such large quantities that it naturally forms a pocket dimension. But it also has a chance of making a x class monster if it¡¯s on a large scale. I should probably explain what the scale for monsters is. You see monsters are split into G, F, E, D, C B, A, AA, AAA, S, SS, SSS, X, XX. then further splits into -, basic, +. G class is a regular animal. The highest level drak is SS. SSS and higher are mutants, or variants. - is added to a weaker monster of that grade, + is added to a particularly strong monster. Dungeons are similarly split into the same manner of grades, except it starts at F and ends at S. We will be going to a dungeon in a week. The rank of the dungeon we will be going into is a F+. the dungeon is called rodent caves. It¡¯s filled with rat animals, the strongest monster is the E ranked boss. Yup! Just like in games, dungeons have bosses. For some reason thinking of going into a dungeon for the first time makes my left arm hurt. But enough of that, weapon training was normal the rest of the time. The next day in spirit training we got to about the point where we manifest a new thing! What do i mean by a thing? What i mean is that a new part will be materialized. And what i got was¡­ a tail! Thats right i got a tail! It¡¯s scaled, and like an alligators, but more flexible, and ending in a sword-like blade. But interestingly enough today we will start training on how to use our spirit forms in combat. But i¡¯ll be glossing over that.Enjoying the story?
