《Warhammer : Cold-blooded Fury》 [0] Prologue I walked into the living room like a zombie, my body almost empty of energy. I staggered my way towards the couch, not even bothering to take off the shoes I had on. My mind was so tired, today was such a busy day, not to mention that annoying customer that kept yapping about and complaining... Eugh, even thinking about it gives me a headache. But that doesn''t matter, because I have finally reached the couch. Oh holy couch, accept my body to allow me to rest. Letting my body go limp and fall forward on the couch, it accepts my body with it''s leathery and soft touch, embracing me with it''s heavenly softness. Mmm.... I don''t want this to ever go away... So... tired..... * * * As the man named John slept, in the realm of dreams, he floated into a peculiar dream. In it, the man saw a dream unlike never before. With a tide of lizardmen charged into battle, lead by a Saurus standing 9 feet tall, it''s body covered in ceremonial armor embedded with glyphs that hummed with ancient power. Wielding a mighty blade that glimmered with a bronze shine, it roared, jumping into the opposing army. With it, the lizardmen army followed their leader into battle, their swords, axes, spears, maces, and halberds slashing and smashing into the enemy lines. The man named John watched the battle from the view of the leader, it''s colossal blade smashing left and right with brutal efficiency and martial prowess. Such skill seemed to be absorbed rapidly by the man named John, the sight of blood and gore that felt so real and horrifying to him seemed to become more natural. The man named John was a weird man, he seemed to be able to adapt to the situation quite quickly, he also seemed to absorb the savage and primal mindset of the huge sword wielding Saurus. With time, he seemed to have become the Saurus itself. Roaring with it as he followed the movement of the Saurus, swinging his heavy non-existent blade with great skill. With it, hours upon hours passed and the mighty Saurus and John cut the final enemy from its head to its crotch, right in half. The Saurus breathed heavily, small and life threatening wounds covered it''s scaly body, the ceremonial armor in tatters, the glyphs that covered it''s body no longer hummed with power, only empty patterns ingrained with it''s armor. it fell to it''s knees, supporting it''s body with it''s sword. It looked around itself, seeing only a sea of blood and corpses, no life was in sight of the Saurus. Only it had survived. John felt the despair and rage it felt, it wanted to roar in rage, but the blood that didn''t seemed to stop kept flowing out of it''s already cold body. Slowly it''s body felt weaker and weaker, the grip on its sword slipped, making the once mighty Saurus fall to the blood soaked soil. It stood still in the puddle of blood, knowing its life was at an end. Soon, the mighty Saurus breathed it''s last, and with it, the man named John had come out of the Saurus'' body. Unlike the Saurus, John wished to survive, he wished for the Saurus to survive. Alas, the cycle of life and death is something one cannot meddle with easily. The man named John started to feel drowsy, his mind shutting down. Eventually, with his eyes closed, he floated back into his body. * * *This novel''s true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there. "Aaagh!!" With a scream I awoke, sweat covered my body. I panted heavily, holding my head. Was... Was that a dream? The dream felt so real, how I fought in the crowded space with the smell of blood and dirt, the blood, and gore, it felt like I was actually there fighting. I shook my head, dispelling the thought, I needed to get to work, the annoying bitch of a boss doesn''t allow someone to be late. I pushed myself out of bed, looking at the block that was on the nightstand right next to my bed. My eyes popped out in disbelief, it was currently 4 in the afternoon, I was 9 hours late. I should''ve been at work at 7. I sighed again, no point going now. Even if I went back tomorrow the boss would fire me no doubt, that was the kind of person she was. I decided to address the dream I had, perhaps the dream was important in some way? I could remember everything, well mostly the fighting and slashing. To test it I went into the kitchen, picking up a relatively large broom. I took a stance, following the movements I had done yesterday. I imagined the same horde of enemies that surrounded me, instead of blocking or countering I just swung my blade in a wide arc, cutting the bodies of numerous enemies in half. I kept swinging and swinging, my body drenched in sweat as my breath grew heavier. Soon, all that was left were the corpses of my enemies, draped upon the floor with their organs and blood I stood there breathing heavily. I snapped back into reality, seeing the puddle of sweat that formed right below me. I looked at my clock, 5 hours had passed and it was 9 pm already. My stomach grumbled loudly, I had not eaten breakfast, lunch and now it was dinner. I wanted to cook something nice today that doesn''t seem possible. My muscles felt weak, my hands were shaking and my legs twitched before going completely limp like spaghetti. I tried to grip my hand but they could only get them half-gripped, I wriggled my way into the kitchen, opening the fridge with weak arms. I was barely able to stand myself up before grabbing a plate of left-overs before falling back onto the floor, only to eat the hard cold bowl of meat sauce spaghetti, not the worse I''ve have in all honesty. After finishing around 3 kilos of cold spaghetti meat sauce, I drifted into sleep, mumbling about how cold spaghetti isn''t that good and how I should go job hunting tomorrow. * * * Once again John floated within the realm of dreams, hopping from world to world as he dreamt. Soon, he arrived at a particular place, his soul floating within the dark depths of a subterranean cave. His soul flickered with light, illuminating the cave, but of course that was only visible to him, and me. Within the large cave, a crystal floated upon a small pillar of rock, glowing with a light blue hue. Next to the floating crystal was a small pond, it''s crystal clear water bubbled and frothed, covering the surface of the water with bubbles, concealing whatever was occurring within the depths of the pond. The crystal grew wary, a sentient crystal that controlled the very cave, a dungeon, precisely, a dungeon core. It watched the bubbling waters with caution, it''s young and primal mind wondered if it had ever ordered the spawn of a monster. Such was the mistake of a young dungeon core, a more experienced and old core would have ordered it''s closest and strongest monsters to surround it or the abnormality. It continued to watch with caution, and the man named John watched with curiosity, with that a mischievous thought popped up within my mind. The ichor that flowed within my blood sped up rapidly, my ''heart'' beating faster. How... How interesting would it be? With my ethereal hand, I plucked the soul of the man named John, just watching his soul flail in a panic is amusing in itself. But that is not the main attraction, with a smile, I pushed him into the being that was emerging from the pool. To be completely honest I never thought that the project in this world would succeed. Watching my new creation with the power I gave it walk the world would be interesting, but putting this man who had seen that battle, oh boy, it seems like I will not be bored for a while now. With a light chuckle, I watched on with interest, waiting with the excitement of when he emerges. [1] The Saurus Emerge As John was pushed into the bubbling pool, merging with the being that was to emerge, the dream like state he was in disappeared and in its stead a clear conscious. As he was fully conscious, he could feel how he was underwater, the heavy feeling pressing on his body was especially noticeable. Though his mind was clear, the confusion of how he even got into the situation was even stronger, making him float within the pond completely still. Right now, John should have emerged from the pond already, violently splashing his way out of the pond accompanied with a roar only fit for the body he inhabited. Alas, that was if the body was not occupied by John. Now, with John occupying the body, all he knew was he trained, got really tired, crawled to the fridge, ate cold spaghetti, and then fell asleep. Now he was in a body of water, how could he not be confused? Eventually, his mind put together the clues and came up with the brilliant conclusion,I am in water! Yes, yes you were John now get out, I am getting bored waiting for you to emerge from the pool. And with the conclusion, his mind panicked. Nothing could possibly explain the situation to John right now, except me of course but that doesn''t matter. With his burly, scaly arms he flailed his arms in the water, hoping to push himself out of the water. His current state of mind made his sense of judgment haywire, causing him to flail his arms instead of actually swimming out. Luckily for him, the body he currently inhabits is... special, yes, very special, and he was just under the water, allowing him to flail himself out of the water. As he emerged from the water as if a humongous rock had fallen, water splashed in numerous directions. John with his new body breathed heavily, confusion, panic, fear, numerous emotions swirled within his eyes. He looked around himself, still completely oblivious to the new body he had. Hopefully, he doesn''t check, just imagining his panicked look when he finds out.... "Pffff.." I struggled to stop the laughter emerging from my mouth, tears started to well within my eyes, I... It''s so hard to watch! I continued to watch John as I stifled my laugh as best as I could. He continued to observe to his surroundings, it was dark, really dark. Yes John, yes it is, you are in a cave. Eventually, his eyes landed upon a single crystal. It floated upon a small pillar of rock, glowing with a light blue hue, illuminating itself. Within the cave, the lightly glowing crystal stood out, as John stared at the glowing crystal, he stopped moving. His eyes looked at the glowing crystal was interest and curiosity, but the emotion that glowed within his eyes was hunger. Pure, savagery. If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. The conscious of the crystal shivered, at first it was overjoyed at the emergence of a strong monster, but now? Now it felt regret. Seeing the creature that emerged from the pond had looked at it with eyes filled with hunger, it knew what it wanted. If the core had spawned it, the look of reverence and respect would have been prominent, but never hunger. Even crystals had instincts, and its instincts cried danger. It quickly blared alarms to its creatures, requesting for aid as soon as possible. But before the action was even done, the creature was upon it. With its sharp claws, it dug into the crystal, giving birth to numerous cracks to appear. Next, it grabbed it with its hands, with the strength that could crush a rock, the cracks on the crystal grew bigger. Finally, the jaws of the beast had already clamped upon the crystal, drool smothered the crystal. With its razor sharp teeth, the beast gave a mighty chomp, effectively smashing the crystal into smithereens. All of the shattered shards of the crystal went into the mouth of the beast. The crystals upon the touching its tongue, melted into a clear blue viscous liquid, flowing down his throat. The feeling of euphoria when it smoothly went down its throat into his stomach was something John had never felt, but currently, the instincts I had implanted within the creature seems to have taken over for a bit, interesting... He seems to have also taken parts of the original body. But, of course, such thoughts do not matter right now. I continued to watch on in interest, seeing him consume the crystal with great fervor. Soon, John finished consuming the crystal, the instincts that had taken over gone. Still, even though he had done it out of instinct, he could remember it as clear as day, now his mind was really messed up. Randomly finding himself in a pool of water, then finding out that he''s in some random dark place, then seeing a glowing crystal that floated, then eating it, then that feeling of euphoria when he ate it? Best feeling in his life. He ran towards the edge of the crystal clear pond, seeing the reflection... Oh boy... I.. I can''t... I.. "AAAAAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!" His.. His face! I... I can''t stop laughing! His face looks so ridiculous! Look at him! Standing at the edge, patting his face like some confused child! Well, he is confused but he''s anadult. No matter. As he continued to look at his reflection, dumbfounded. The pond started to bubble and froth once more, and with it beasts with a striking resemblance to John emerged, giving out roars at the same time. "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHH!!!" their roars were so loud, it shook the cavern, causing dust and small rocks to fall from the ceiling of the cavern. John just sat there looking at his new companions, his stare full of confusion. His day was too messed up for his frail modern mind, this made absolutely no sense to him. As he looked at the newly emerged Lizardmen, his mouth opened and closed much like a fish out of water, before screaming his lungs out, "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHH!????????" (WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON??!!!!!!!!!" I am very sorry. To every person who had hopes for this fiction, I am very sorry. I just couldn''t continue this story. Even though I had the basic premise down with, in my opinion, an interesting twist, I just couldn''t build up to it. If you want to know what it was, look in the spoiler. Spoiler: Spoiler As the MC and his companions explore the dungeon, eventually they exit the dungeon and into another series of tunnels and caves. As they explore the winding tunnels, they eventually find a skinny, grayskinned humanoid that had long ears and a long nose. It had red eyes that glowed in the dark, armed with a rusty scimitar the MC appraises it and finds out it is a Cave Goblin, or as other people call a Night Goblin. They resemble the Night Goblins greatly, including their culture and the raising of Squigs.Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site. TIME SKIP They eventually find out that Chaos had slowly seeped into the world when the being (the one who put the MC into the Saurus) created the Saurus and even more came in when he put the MC into the Saurus. The story focuses on how the MC fights the forces of Chaos as he gathers the forces of the world that had been corrupted to the core, even the noble and prideful High Elves had degraded into greedy, sly and scheming beings. So as it comes down to this, I just think I can''t continue. Even though I thought it was interesting, in my opinion, though it was interesting if the Author can''t build up to it appropriately, perhaps having it half-assed, it won''t be interesting at all. So in the end, I have concluded to drop this novel permanently. I know, I did 2-3 chapters before rewriting, and now I am dropping it after 2 chapters, and I apologize. A reputation is important for an author on this site, even for small Authors like me, so doing this would most likely make people who have read my fictions on the more negative side. So again, I apologize. I am very sorry. Yours truly, Ozduch
