《The Exalted King》 Prologue- I am an Exalted one. I woke up one day and found myself in a different body. The emotions of fear and confusion ran amok. I was conscious as my soul was being sucked into a foreign body. It was not pleasant, quite uncomfortable in fact. I opened my eyes and found myself in a unfamiliar room. ¡°Your awake I see", said a woman sitting near the bed. Impossible there was no in the room a moment ago. Seeing the shock in my eyes the women explained," I sensed your awakening and came immediately". She then said with a playful tone, ¡°For someone of my stature to come, you should be proud". What was she talking about and who was she in the first place? Suddenly a burst of memories flashed in my mind. My name was Azeroth Vanaheim. I was an orphan who grew up in the slums of a backward planet whose name is not worth being mentioned. The past of my current body is nothing special. It was 16 years of cowardice, wandering and searching for food and trying to survive. The only blessing this boy got is the that he was chosen to be exalted one and even that ended in his death. At least his death served me a purpose. I looked back at the women who spoke to me. She was beautiful and had a divine feeling to her. Platinum hair fell to her waist and her skin was fair as the moon. I couldn''t help but be charmed by her beauty. This feeling disappeared when I realised after looking through my memories that I was looking at one of the most powerful beings in the universe. The harmless women before my eyes was the Oracle. A powerful and ancient being worshipped by the countless masses in the universe irrespective of their race. The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. "It is good that your awake, Exalted one. There are too few of you for one too die so suddenly", said the Oracle. I immediately got up and bowed and said, ¡°Great Oracle, this one is not worthy of your care". There flash of surprise in the Oracle''s eyes. ''This cowardly boy actually took measures to speak instead of shivering in fear?'', thought the Oracle. The Oracle gave a dazzling smile and said, ¡°Looks like your near death experience has changed you¡±. She continued, ¡°This is good, change is something you direly need if you want to survive as an Exalted one." "The physicians shall give you a check up and make sure you are ready for your future endeavours" said the Oracle and then she disappeared in a flash. ''Teleportation huh'' as I looked at the phenomenon before me. This universe was filled with plenty of such things. Mages who cast spells and researched the arcane, Martial artists who cultivated and comprehended the daos, Psy users who lift mountains with a thought and see into a person¡¯s mind, shamans, druids, beast masters, elementalists, and many more myriad existences filled this world. I sighed when thinking about this and how my future would play out. Chapter 1- The encounter in the gardens Azeroth managed to uncover some information about his current surroundings from his memories. He was currently on the planet of Delphion. It was the Oracle¡¯s planet and was named after the ancient spirit of prophecy. The Oracle occupied the planet where the cube resided and monitored the cube¡¯s activities. She also took charge of the Exalted one¡¯s. Azeroth was confused at first at why the various forces in the universe would allow one person to take responsibility of the cube. ¡®The Oracle is the only publicly known neutral figure who is powerful enough to take upon such a duty so it¡¯s only natural that the different factions agree to her role¡¯ thought Azeroth.¡¯ Enough of this, I should head out and check the place¡¯, thought Azeroth and he went on his way. He was currently walking through the walls of headquarters of the Exalted one¡¯s, the Viralok. The technology in this universe was much more advanced than the that of Earth. Holographic displays pointed him towards the gardens from where he could see large battleships stationed in the sky and small ships whizzing by. ¡®Holy shit, this is unbelievable¡¯, thought Azeroth. Even though he saw the Oracle, he still had some doubts in his mind but now his suspicion was crumbling down. He took a look around the garden and saw that it was filled with strange and exotic plants that he had never seen before. ¡¯Such plants aren¡¯t in the memories of that guy, so these must be very rare and unique¡¯ thought Azeroth as he wandered through the garden. ¡°Hey boy, looks like you¡¯ve finally woken up¡±, an arrogant but beautiful voice sounded out. Azeroth turned to look at the voice and found himself staring at a hot and sexy redhead adorned in a regal armour. Her boy was voluptuous with all the curves in the right places and her bust was very generous. Her sun kissed skin went well with her hair and she looked to be in her twenties. Azeroth just stood there in a daze while looking at the beauty before his eyes.¡± Tch, seen enough boy?¡±, said the woman. Azeroth quickly awoke from his daze and blushed.¡¯ She¡¯s gorgeous¡¯ thought Azeroth. He quickly greeted her¡± Greetings princess Diana, I did not expect to see you here¡±. Memories flashed through his mind and he uncovered the beauties identity. Diana Raiza, the first princess of the Amazons and a mighty warrior with unparalleled martial prowess. She too was an Exalted one like him. She was a martial cultivator otherwise known as practitioners who cultivate qi. They are known for their strong bodies and martial skills. The details of such things could be considered later as right now Diana was looking at Azeroth strangely.¡¯ He¡¯s not hunching down anymore and he dares meet my eyes, hmm weird¡¯, thought Diana. Such thoughts were normal as Azeroth was commoner and more so a person from the slums. Such a person being chosen as an Exalted one was strange enough and facing people who were basically gods and could crush him with but a thought was a terrifying ordeal. But how could she know that a new soul inhabited the person before her. Azeroth of the past was no more and right now the person before her was a person who was from modern earth. This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience. ¡°It seems you have recovered, I amazed at how one could be at death¡¯s door after a bout of drinking boy¡±, said the princess of Amazons said with mockery. Ignoring her mocks and her irritating way of calling him a boy, Azeroth thought about the drinking part.¡¯ So that explains what happened to the previous owner of this body¡¯, thought Azeroth. The alcohol overdose must have killed the boy.¡¯ Seems suspicious though¡¯, thought Azeroth. Thoughts of being poisoned entered his mind, but he quickly shook those away. The Oracle¡¯s physicians would not hide such a matter and the Oracle herself could easily detect such a poison with her magical abilities.¡¯ Oh man, to die from alcohol overdose, that¡¯s so embarrassing¡¯ thought Azeroth. He responded to the princess with a laugh, ¡°I got a little excited and drank more than I should princess, after all it is not every day a person such as I gets to dine with the divine¡±. ¡®What¡¯s wrong with this guy, he spoke another sentence to me, could it be that the near death experience messed with his mind?¡¯, thought the princess.¡± Well you should go meet your new team mates now that you are up and walking¡±, said the princess while walking away. A person of her calibre did not need to mind such an insignificant and weak character. Azeroth couldn¡¯t help but sight after seeing her walk away like that, but it was to be expected. Within days of his arrival Azeroth had earned himself the title of coward and weakling. Even the servants of the nobles did not respect him despite his newly found status as an Exalted one. After his arrival at Delphion it was found that his body had zero talent to be a practitioner, a negligible talent in the arcane arts of the mages, the strength of his mind too low to be psionic, spirit sensitivity was non-existent so being a shaman or elementalist was out of the question, druids were a subset of mages so that was out of the question too. Perhaps he could have been a one of the rarer seen spiritualists who can derive myriad of abilities from their spirits and also fuse with them to bring about incredible power. A beast master was born with a grimoire inside of soul space and Azeroth lacked such an item.¡¯ With my current capabilities being a mage is the only option but considering my talent reaching even the first circle would take me eight to ten years and so it¡¯s useless¡¯ ,thought Azeroth.¡¯ Could it be that I have no choice?¡¯ Azeroth as disappointed when he thought of his current state. He didn¡¯t know how he died back on earth and then soul was sucked into a chaotic dimension and then kicked out of it and into a new world and there his soul was again sucked into the body of a waste. Throughout the whole experience he was aware and that only added to the fear and confusion. There was no pain though, rather the absence of his senses made it worse. The only good thing about his new life was the status of exalted but that was worthless without power. ¡®Forget about it, I should go meet my new team mates¡¯ thought Azeroth as he walked out of the garden. Chapter 2- The team The doors opened and in walked a scrawny sixteen year old human boy. He had greyish white hair and copper skin. He was unremarkable and had nothing special about him. Azeroth looked around the ¡®Hall of Champions¡¯ as they called it and found that there was a group of youths gathered in the around what looked to be the leisure area. Luxurious furniture was sprawled around the room and grand paintings were hung on the walls. ¡°Well look at this it appears we have a guest¡±, said a strong and loud voice. The person in question looked at the speaker and found himself staring two-meter tall beastman. The beastmen race were humans who possessed magical beast bloodlines. They possessed a tremendous physique and vitality, not to mention that their bloodline gives them powerful abilities and skills. Depending on the inheritance that they receive with their bloodline, beastmen are a very powerful race in the universe. They have staked large territories in the universe and do not lose to humans in terms of power. ¡®This must be the monkey prince of the Vanara Empire¡¯, deduced Azeroth. The Vanara empire consisted of beastmen of the primate type. Ape and monkey beastmen make up the majority of the population. The Vanara empire was powerful and consisted of several galaxies. ¡°Hello Maken, we meet once again¡±, said Azeroth. Azeroth took a look at Maken. The young prince was a handsome but masculine man with golden hair and amber eyes, a sign of his golden monkey king bloodline. ¡°Perhaps you are still drunk little man, for you to use that tongue of yours¡± said the prince as Azeroth was usually a silent guy who rarely spoke an even a sentence. ¡°Haha, I have recovered from my drunken stupor prince and have never felt better, I just came here to seem my team is all¡±, said Azeroth in a happy tone.¡¯ Holy Oracle, its a real life beastmen, even though he looks human that golden tail does not lie¡¯, thought Azeroth in an excited tone. Even though he would have preferred a cute female beastman with cat ears and tail this is still his first encounter with a non-human entity. ¡°Hmph, you seem quite happy trash¡±, said an arrogant voice filled with contempt. Shingen Yoshimura never could accept the fact that such a waste was chosen as an Exalted one. He could ignore the fact that he low class slumdog but not the fact that he was weak. The Yoshimura clan was ancient super clan that was as strong as an empire. It was a rare clan which consisted of spiritualists. It was completely unacceptable that a person of his status was put together in the same lot as a waste. ¡®Could this be one of the legendary arrogant young masters from the novels that I read in my past life¡¯ thought a astonished Azeroth. That pale white skin along with his pure black hair and eyes coupled with earth¡¯s Japanese like clothing and a sheathed katana at his waist brought together a image of prodigious young master.Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation. ¡®Wait if I am paired with a arrogant wannabe xianxia villain like him won¡¯t I suffer in the future along with him?¡¯, reasoned Azeroth. ¡®This is a disaster, arrogant young masters rarely make it past a few chapters in the novels without suffering a defeat at the hands of the protagonist¡¯. Thought Azeroth. ¡®No worse than that is that they drag down everyone related to them as well¡¯, thought a panicked Azeroth. ¡®Let¡¯s calm down first and assess the situation very carefully¡¯, thought Azeroth.¡± Now now, young master Shingen once the cube decides a team, we are bound together, so let¡¯s all get along now¡± said Azeroth. Shingen clicked his tongue and said,¡± If it wasn¡¯t for those rules the omni cube made you would never have been allowed to join our team¡±, said Shingen. ¡°It can¡¯t be helped Shingen we must allow the man with no honour to be with us, for that is the will of the cube¡¯, replied a very tall and very muscular brute. ¡®What in the name of the oracle is that?¡¯, thought Azeroth.¡¯ No wait, could this be¡., an orc!?¡¯ Standing over two metres tall, Razak Kuldran was the young chieftain of the Grey orc horde. He was famed for his skills with a Warhammer and was an aura user otherwise known as aura warrior. Aura Warriors were different from practitioners in which they cultivated aura instead of qi. They focussed more on bodily strength than practitioners. They utilised combat Artes to overwhelm their enemies. The main difference between aura users and practitioners is the energy they use. Aura users are born with attributes within their auras and they can utilise no other elements. For example, a fire aura user could only utilise the element of fire and nothing else. Despite the obvious disadvantage aura users have much more control and immunity towards their own element. Also in rare cases, multiple attributes were possible. One unique aspect is that their attributes have their own special variation. The Raging monk from the legends possessed the divine wrath flame aura and the sky pirate king who was notorious for his might was said to have the cataclysmic storm aura, a rare triple affinity of wind, water and lightning. Azeroth didn¡¯t know what aura the Razak the grey orc possessed but it was guaranteed to be powerful. He looked at the three people before him and couldn¡¯t help but sigh.¡¯ Compared to these guys I really am trash.¡¯ ¡°You must let go of your weakness and become stronger, only then can you get back your honour¡± said Razak. ¡°A pointless endeavour Razak, he does not have even a mediocre talent in anything¡±, replied Shingen. ¡¯Oh, stop with the condescending attitude dude¡¯, thought Azeroth.¡± Anything is possible as long as one has the will Shingen¡±, said Razak. ¡°Thank you Razak, I¡¯ll definitely put some effort from now onwards¡±, said Azeroth.¡¯ Razak is such a good guy, it¡¯s only this Shingen with his snobby attitude ruining this whole team¡¯ Azeroth whined to himself. ¡°I don¡¯t know about that Razak, he is already this old and he doesn¡¯t have even an ounce of energy within his boy¡±, said Maken.¡¯ Stupid monkey, I totally forgot about you for a second¡¯, Azeroth angrily thought.¡¯ What¡¯s up with all this negativity, some encouragement wouldn¡¯t kill you, you know¡¯, but Azeroth didn¡¯t dare say this out loud. ¡°We shall talk about this later for now we should meet the other teams and discuss our future plans¡±, said Razak. ¡°Well than let¡¯s carry on then, we don¡¯t have all day¡±, said Shingen and then the group started walking to the centre of the Hall of Champions. Along the Azeroth couldn¡¯t help but think about his current predicament. He was currently powerless and the future wasn¡¯t looking to bright for him.¡¯ As transmigrator shouldn¡¯t I have some awesome powers, a OP system or a mysterious artifact or a secret cultivation art.¡¯ ¡®Whatever let¡¯s just carry on forward¡¯. Chapter 3- The River The group of youths started on their way to the central area of the Hall of Champions.¡¯ Why are they so fast¡¯? Azeroth had trouble keeping up with them and had to keep up a light jog to stay in Pace with them despite the fact that the others were walking. This minute detail showcased the difference between a cultivator and a non-cultivator. A cultivator could walk thirty kilometers in ten minutes and not break a sweat. '' Finally, we are here''. The central area of the Hall of Champions was huge, it was big enough to accommodate at least 10000 people. In a sense, it fit a cultivator¡¯s standards. There were a few groups of people standing near a manmade pond and admiring it. '' Princess Diana is here as well, could this be her team?'' ¡°Well it looks like you guys are finally here¡±, said Diana. The others then looked up and inspected the new arrivals. Azeroth also inspected them. He already met Diana and then there was elven man with blonde hair and green eyes.¡¯ Elves really are a naturally beautiful race'', thought Azeroth. He seemed to be a mage of sorts or perhaps a elementalist. Then there was a Asian youth wearing a set of normal robes in contrast to the others who wore luxurious and noble clothing. He had a clear handsome face with sword shaped eyebrows and black hair and eyes. His calm and confident demeanor along with a hint of indifference reminded Azeroth of the protagonists from the novels in his past life. This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. The next person was a beautiful Asian looking woman who wore a beautiful white robe. Her hair and eyes were also black, but for some reason her eyes had a hint profoundness to them which Azeroth was unable to comprehend. '' From the looks of it, each team has four members''. ¡°Yumi so you were here? You should have told me I would have come and seen you¡±, said Shingen. ¡°I told you to call me by full name young master Shingen, we are not close enough for you to address me as such¡±, said Yumiko Kazama. ¡®Damn it looks like the affection is one sided'', thought Azeroth. Shingen flinched for a second but then replied back,¡± Oh come on Yumi, we are engaged, it¡¯s natural for us to be so close¡±.¡± It was not a engagement that I agreed to, our families were the ones to do so¡±. ¡°If Yumi isn¡¯t comfortable than why do you insist, just leave her ¡°, said the youth in plain clothes. He was Chu Feng, a practitioner from a ordinary low rated clan on a small planet. Despite being of humble origins he was incredibly talented and his cultivation swiftly rose in a short amount of time. ¡°You commoner what did you say, who are you to come between us¡±, Shingen said furiously.¡± You dare to call her Yumi as well¡±, saying this Shingen unsheathed his blade. It was at that moment that Azeroth fell into the river.
