 Chapter 1 SELENA

    In the year 1706 in Eastern Europe people were known to be polite and happy even if their life is not as wealthy as those of Westerners.


    People''s way of living is by doing mining for the men and taking care of the house chores for women


    A single gemstone is worth many coins that can help a simple family have a better life.


    Selena and Ambrogio, a newlywed couple that chooses to live in the 3rd section of the small vige of Algura where they decided to start their family.


    The past two years were a happy life for a couple especially when Selena is already pregnant.


    A few monthster when Selena delivered her baby, he is healthy and a very strong baby boy.


    The baby grows and bes a kid, a jolly and witty boy who always goes with Ambrogio his father when doing his mining job.


    A couple never loses their hopes until Ambrogio gets even a single gem for their boy''s future, so after a series of struggles and hardships, Ambrogio finds the green shiny gems that the Western called emerald.


    They quickly bring the gem to the market to know how much it''s worth and the shop owner presented them a seven hundred thousand worth of coins, which is more than what they expected, so then the couple exchanges the gem for the coins and then go back home bringing a piece of happy news to their son.


    In the middle of the night, Ambrogio heard a footstep around their house so he picks up his axe and woke up Selena to hug their son and make sure he is safe then a loud bang at the door when the five corporal men enter their house. "You, you need toe with us along with your wife and child, we got aint about the gem you sell that you stole it at the church which is originally the gem of the April"


    The Corporal said that shocked Ambrogio.


    "No, that is not true! The gem was found in the mine! And he digs it!"


    Selena said tried defending her husband.

    The second corporal said with authority, so the family quietly obeys themand and goes silently with the corporals.


    Along the way, Ambrogio notice that the road they are taking is not heading to the corporal headquarters but to the other way, at this point Ambrogio starts to feel that something is not right and tries to find a way to escape his family from the impending danger.


    He pushes away the two corporals beside him and grabs Selena''s arm holding their son but the corporals manage to run over them.


    "Please.... whatever you want to do with us, just do it to me, please spare my wife and my child"


    Ambrogio pleaded in tears but instead of listening to his plead the 3rd corporal grabbed Selena''s hair and pull her away from Ambrogio and her son.


    A not-so-distance apart, Selena is now lying on the ground while the 3rd corporal starts disgracing her, easily taking off her clothes and covers.


    Ambrogio can''t do something to help Selena since there is a gun pointing at their son''s head, the other corporal kick and punch him in front of his child and his wife who has been raped by the other two corporals cannot any more move her body.


    After a few minutes, Ambrogio who is lying on the ground with blood on his face can barely move, Selena despite feeling weak and exhausted as the four corporals disgraced her throughout the time, she managed to crawl back to Ambrogio and to his son that is continuously crying.


    They believe that the corporals will let them go after what they did and already feel satisfied by raping her, but she was shocked when in front of her eyes the loud sound of the gun surrounds the whole ce.


    Her husband and child were gunshot by the 4th corporal that takes their life in just a minute.


    Selena cannot contain her tears and even though it is hard for her to move she hurriedly ran towards her son and husband who are currently lying on the ground lifeless.


    "aaaahhhhhh..... my baby...... Ambrogio!!!!..... aaahhhhh"


    Selena shouted in tears while hugging them.


    Since it was dawn, the 2nd corporal immediately shot Selena in her back, making her unconscious and seemingly dead.


    Then the corporal leaves them behind.


    With the ray of the sun touching her face, Selena manages to open her eyes and found herself inside the cave, she still not feeling well but tries to move and find her son and husband and then heard a voice of an olddy sitting beside her. "Better have a little more rest, my child"


    The old Lady said looking merciful at her.


    "Hmmm... w-where is my family?"


    Selena said in her very weak voice looking straight at the olddy but she just holds her hand to express her condolences.


    Selena understands the gesture and starts to cry hard, she cries and cries the whole day and the olddy never leaves her side.


    The days pass and Selena''s condition gets even better, the olddy brings her to the other side of the cave where Ambrogio and her son were buried, and tears fall from her eyes while kneeling on the ground in front of her family''s grave. After spending a few hours at her family''s grave the olddy invites her inside the cave to have a small talk.


    "So what are you nning to do now child?"


    The olddy asks but Selena is just sitting silently staring at one corner, she doesn''t want to listen and talk so the olddy asks her again with another question.


    "Do you want revenge?"

    The olddy asks and this time it caught Selena''s attention.


    "How?"


    Selena asks and the olddy gives a meaningful stare at her before she speaks.


    "This world is full of mystery my child, there are things that are way unexinable within our minds, but it is up to you what would you prefer to do, at the second mountain from here there is a narrow cave where you can find the blood of the cursed" The old Lady exins.


    "I heard about that, but is it real or just a mere legend that my mother used to tell us for a nighttime story"


    Selena said but the olddy just smiled at her and starts to speak again.


    "Your mother must be so special, no wonder you are special too, the blood of the cursed is not a myth, nor a legend, it is real, but every power has an equivalent to the person who will drink it, it will either cause chaos to your life or make a better life out of your misery, but one thing is for sure every power we take has something in return so are you ready to pay for it?"


    The olddy asks her but Selena is determined to take a step to avenge her family, she will take lives if it is needed.


    She did not answer the old Lady but she knows that her determination reflects the gesture of her eyes so the olddy understands it. Selena travelled five days just to get to the second mountain; the cave is so narrow that you need to lower your head to get in. After she sessfully enters the cave she found a little altar with a golden cup, she knew that it is already the blood she is looking for. Before she drinks the cup, the old Lady suddenly appears in front of her which seriously shocks her.


    "I hope you are doing the right thing, my child, revenge cannot bring them back, and it will only cause so much more pain to you" The olddy said trying to remind her of the consequence.


    "I don''t care I like this pain I will live with it and die with it, nothing will stop me"


    Selena''s statement makes the old Lady disappear into thin air.


    After drinking all the blood, her body starts shaking and then moves up and down throwing herself around the cave, she shouts in pain due to the heat that she felt which flows through her vein and to her system then suddenly, she passed out.


    It has been one day passed when Selena woke up, she felt weird within her and notice that the color of her skin bes pale but much brighter than before, her face bes more stunning and her hair is much softer and silkier, she start walking and climbing up to get out of the cave but was stop when she gets burned after a series of sunlight touches her skin, she is now asking herself what is going on butter then realized that maybe it is the result of drinking the cursed blood, so she decided to stay for a while inside the cave.


    When the sun goes down, Selena felt the need to eat so she try to find something she can eat like fruits and bread, she manage to go back to their house despite the memories it has, she try to eat the bread but it didn''t taste good for her and as well as the fruits, they are all dull in taste for Selena, then suddenly, she smells something very nice, the smell ising towards her house and then heard a familiar voice that made her hand formed a fist.

    "We need to get back a thousand coins they get, it should be inside the house, and we cannot fail!"


    The familiar voice said and Selena''s body starts shaking in anger as she knew who they are so when the two men enter the house, they were stunned to see a beautiful woman standing in front of them, they never even recognized Selena her appearance changed from her normal look.


    The two men are the two corporals who killed her family so Selena finds a way to grab the neck of one of the corporals, she was amused by the strength she has, she can now even lift him in one hand just by holding him on his neck and when the other corporal was about to attack, Selena grabs him as well and lift him together with the other.


    Staring at them filled with anger in her eyes, she can no longer control a sudden emotion inside her until she felt her gums pushing out two fangs while staring at the neck of the two corporals, she can smell their blood and it is addicting, she felt a need to drink it.


    Like a hungry animal, Selena sucks all the blood from the two corporals until it kills them, they be dry with only bones and skin left.


    After a few minutes, reality hits her, and she begins to realize what she has done, she is no longer different than an animal or even worst, a monster, so Selena begins to cry.


    It takes an hour before she gained herposure and she decided to embrace the monster she became.


    Then days turn to weeks, and Selena begins to track down the other corporals but they are a bit hard to find, so along the way, for her to live she manages to drink the blood of the people she encounters, those people whom she thinks deserve to die.


    It takes several months before Selena masters her ability, she also realized that she is already immortal and that even hundred guns shoot her, her body can heal naturally, she also gains some wealth and now living a different life, she left the east and live in the west where all the luxury can be found.


    Selena tries her best to be able to blend in with the high society people attending the elite member''s meeting and there she found the two remaining corporals.


    Out of anger, she did not hesitate to suddenly attack the 4th corporal in front of the people, she suck all his blood until he can no longer breathe, the crowd was stunned and was afraid of her, but little did she notice that the curtain behind her has been identally pulled down and the sun immediately strikes her skin, then the people start opening all the windows and Selena start shouting in pain, her skin is melting like a candle and before she explodes, the olddy appears in front of her then hug her tight.


    When she is about to escape Selena a loud gunshot surrounds and the olddy''s back has a shot that makes her fall to the floor.


    Selena grabs the olddy trying to lift her out of the hall but she is very weak to make another move at the same speed she has due to the damage she gets from the sun.


    "Hey, please olddy, don''t die on me please"


    Selena pleaded in tears.


    "My child, I tried to make up for my sin by at least saving you, please have a life after this, drink my blood and be me, be the goddess of the Moon, and live your life, a little of my blood can make you a half-human who can live again in the daylight like what normal people do, find the dark book where all the information is written down there, the day wille the blood of goddess of the sun will be born, it will turn you back to human, find it, promised me, find it" Thest words are said by the olddy before she turns into ashes.


    Selena gained her strength after biting and drinking the olddy''s blood and standing again in front of all the elites with the open windows, she knew that something inside her changed and that change makes her stronger than before, her speed is undeniably amusing and her eyes turn into red when she is turning and silver for normal days, she can now have the control of her fangs, and that moment on, she manages to kill every elite that is inside the hall.


    After the horrific incident, Selena suddenly disappears and all she is left in the eyes and memory of the people she helped over the people she killed is a sad story of a mother and a wife who bes the goddess of the moon with cursed blood.

 Chapter 2 THE START

    IN THE YEAR 1800 FRANCE


    Selena finds her way to live peacefully with the humans, it''s been almost one century had passed and she still looks the same, the 30-year-old face was the one thing that remains from her past. After the incident of the elite member massacre case which the people used to call it, Selena flew out of the country and live her life in a simple vige in France. This time she became one of the great professors/doctors who have ever lived.


    She manages to create lots of cures for certain illnesses that endangered all the people in the vige.


    Despite embracing her new life, Selena never stops looking for the person that the olddy told her about, the person with the blood of the goddess of the sun.


    For the past century, she fails to find it, but she believes that it was not yet in this era and she will wait until this person will be born.


    Selena receives different offers and suitors but she never had any feelings for anyone, as for her, the time when her family died is the time that her heartes after.


    Her wealth begins to the uproar as she has a lot of businesses and ownednds in different areas and countries.


    Being famous in her field she was recognized as the woman of the year and begin to receive awards.


    Although achievements and wealth are just beneath her, she still mourns over and over again the death of her husband and child.


    On the other hand, Selena continues killing all the people who get in her way, the people who are dirt on society, those people who oppressed others and people who kill for money.


    Since Selena became half-human again, she pleasures herself with a lot of coitus, doing one-night pleasure to any person she wants since she was able to control the person if she wants to.

    Then Agustin takes a step following where Selena goes, at the end of the hall there is a hidden exit door where Selena enters.


    Although it creeps him out, he manages to see where Selena goes, a dark small room with elegant tables and chairs, a pair of golden candles and a red silk-covered king-size bed.


    Agustin swallow his throat and stepped toward Selena who is now lying on the bed when Agustin is near the edge of it he was surprised when Selena grab his hand and ce him on the bed while Selene is pressing her body to him, Selena is now on top of him.


    Agustin suddenly felt cold when Selena caress his jaw down to his neck.


    Now Selena is holding Agustin''s neck, at first, he feels fine with it but as the minutes go by it is getting tighter until he can now barely breathe.


    He is shocked to see Selena''s eyes turn red and her fangs begin to appear, he wants to shout but he can barely move since Selena is way stronger than him.


    "You, you are the one who spread those illnesses to those women you have sex with"


    Selena said in a very serious tone.


    Agustin is so scared that he can''t even start to talk but Selena loosened the grip of her hand from choking his neck.


    "Ah.... ahm.... I-I''m sick... it was their fault.... those women in my family keep making me do what they want, they sold me to a different woman, most of them are the old ones, but they don''t even know that I don''t like it! It is disgusting! Inside me is shouting hard, yelling that I can''t do it with a woman that I am different but they never listen until I got this illness and so I want my revenge, so just kill me now, I don''t mind anymore"


    Agustin said in tears looking straight into her eyes, Selena take off her hand to free him, she felt his grudge and hate that she has in her heart as well.


    "You are going to die anytime soon, how about I am offering you a deal, will you listen?"


    Selena said that is now sitting on the couch in cross arms and legs.


    "Ahem... I am listening"


    Agustin said while wiping his tears then Selena just give him a sweet smile.


    Midnight at the MANSION OF MADAM MITRA


    "Hahaha! I have all the men you like but of course, ites with a good price Santana"


    "Fair enough Mitra here, now give me my man!"


    Santana said after giving the money.


    "Good! Now follow me and I will give you "


    "-baaagg!!!!!!"


    A loud sound of a broken door falls to the ground.


    "Ahhh!!! Ahhh!!! Help!!!"


    People are now screaming when they saw Agustin who broke the thickrge door of Mitra''s Mansion.


    "You insolent and rubbish child! What do you think you are doing?"


    Mitra said in her very loud voice.

    Agustin said with a wide smile on his face and before Mitra could respond, Agustin is already at her back and then quickly bites her neck.


    Everyone was shocked by what he did to Mitra, people inside the mansion takes every way they can to escape and get out but suddenly Selena appeared in front of them and all the windows and doors are now closed. The two powerful being indulged themselves in their mouth-watering feast for dinner.


    THE YEAR 2010 PHILIPPINES


    In the middle of the night of July 8, 2010, you will hear the whine and moan of the people suffering in pain inside the bigboratory that was hidden in the middle of the forest.


    Thisboratory was conducting human dissecting research, where they cut each and every piece of the person''s veins, arteries and organs alive.


    "Sen, five civilians are inside theb, you only have 10 minutes to get them"


    The assistant said.


    "That is just enough Gust; prepare the car at the exact time"


    Sen said.


    She fixes her hood and then quickly enters theboratory, by the guidance of her assistant, she manages to get in at the exact location where the five civilian stays. "Sen, what is the status now?"


    Gust asks.


    "Those fucking bastard who made these people their guinea pig"


    Sen said in her strong and anguish voice then she manage to get out of the civilians and make them safe, having the rage of anger and madness inside her, she killed all the security and those people who manage theboratory until she found the doctor''s office who conducts the horrible activity to the innocent victim, then she walks towards the office and saw the doctors she has been looking for, hiding below the chairs and tables, Sen walks slowly towards them. You can only hear the sound of her boots, a creepy sound that you hear when a killer is only a step away to kill you.


    Sen already notices the hem of the doctor''s coat that is hiding on their tables so she starts sitting above it on cross legs.


    "Doctors are the person who keeps people alive, do you all agree?"


    Sen said while sitting rxed at the table but no one tries to say something so she starts talking again.


    "I am not a fan of waiting for doctors... how rude to make a woman wait who only wants to talk..."


    Sen said in her seductive voice then slowly the three doctors came out from under the table where they hide.


    When they saw the woman who is sitting pretty while facing them, they couldn''t believe their eyes how beautiful the woman is.


    "You are so young to threaten us, youngdy!"


    The first doctor said and he was about to continue what he is saying when Sen is already standing in front of him, his jaw almost drop seeing how fast she moves.


    "Do you know what I really hate most Doc? Is when someone is calling me ady!!!!"


    Sen said while ying with his necktie until she grabs his head and crashed it with her bare hand which shocked the remaining two doctors, the second doctor almost pees his pants and the third cannot move an inch out of fear. "One down, two to go! Hahaha! Well, how about we y a game doc because this is really getting boring, how about hiding and seek?"


    Sen said wearing a sarcastic smile while looking at the two doctors their faces lightened up with the idea of the game after hearing her suggestion, they want to take the opportunity to hide or escape.

    "I-I guess that is... that is a great idea!"


    The second doctor said trying to control his fear.

    Sen move fast from section to section and enjoyed the game she started.


    Walking in the hallway of theb, Sen already smelled where the mouse is hiding and at the exact spot of the CCTV camera, Sen broke the ceiling and pulled out the second doctor who is so shocked. "P-Please, please don''t kill me, I was just forced to work here, I-I really don''t like doing it, that is the truth"


    The second doctor pleaded for his life.


    "Uh-huh sure, but... the truth is... this is my favorite, killing some rat who pleads and to tell you what... mercy and pity words just died on me thousand years ago!"


    Sen said then grab the doctor''s head while facing her and with her stiffed and stretched arm, she crashed the doctor''s head and the brain and all the organs inside are now scattered around the floor.


    Now the third doctor is thest one on the list, he knows that the second doctor is already dead after listening to the earphone that was connected to them; he almost peed on his pants while his body is shaking in fear of hearing what Sen did to the second doctor.


    Now Sen is entering the employee''s closets.


    "Yoo hoo... doctor... where are you... hahaha... know what doc, I want your opinion about this... I have this fascination about something and I loved doing it, they said it is not a good thing to do... but... ahhhh... hmmm... I am loving it doc... so, do you think I''m insane? Hahaha"


    Sen said trying to tease the doctor where ever he is and she continue talking until reached where the third doctor is.


    "Don''t you want toe out doc? Come on... let us have a chit chat... oh... you''re boring...!


    How about... a little game... called... PICK A BOO...!!!"

    Sen said appearing in front of the doctor''s face with glowing red eyes and pairs of fangs, Sen sucked every little amount of blood in the doctor''s body until he was just bone and skin left. "Crazy asshole"


    Sen said while wiping her lips, and then a smile formed on her face seeing what she''s been looking for, the files she needed.


    "Sen, all the civilians are already free, I have erased all their memories about what happened to them but where are you now?"


    Gust asks into his earphone.


    "Well... I am here at the ce where no one can find...."


    Sen said then turn off her earphone connected to Gust.

    "Thank you all foring, thank you!"


    I said with a smile, a lot of visitors came when it was not even my 18th birthday since I am already 23; everyone is always present whenever my mom and dad send an invitation. "Hi, Marty! Happy Birthday!"

    Mom exins, and while having a conversation with mom, our maid knocks on the door to tell us that Natasha and her men forcedly grab my Dad to go with them and so I hurriedly go outside.

    I shout and approach Natasha but her men suddenly appeared in front of me.

    "Mom... Mom... hmm... please don''t leave me, Mom"


    I pleaded in tears while hugging the dead body of my mother.


    While crying hard, I saw Natasha make their way out of the house like nothing happen to bring my Dad, I run towards her and try to stop her by pulling her hair but her men stops me and forcedly put me inside the car while Dad is in another


    car.


    Natasha sits beside me and holds my chin.


    "You... starting today you will forget everything about your life and your father since you will no longer see him again, I am still nice Martha, and while I''m still am, better follow what I said, be gone, don''t evere back to this ce because once we meet again I will surely end your life like what happens to your miserable Mother"


    She said warning me wearing those scary eyes and away from our ce, the car suddenly stops in nowhere, I don''t even recognize where we are when Natasha just kicked me out of the car made me fall to the ground where I can barely move out of fear, and with all that happen suddenly I felt dizzy and passed out.

 Chapter 3 THE AUCTION

    MARTHA''S S POV


    "Savage love got somebody breaks my heart...!"


    My cousin named Jan-Jan always loves TikTok.

    The CEO starts his speech and his ent sounds like old English, British like if I will describe it and the amazing part is he also knows how to speak well the localnguage.


    After his speech, all the department heads were introduced one by one and exined their function and drop their updated reports.


    Most of the products and shops inside the mall were also owned by the CEO and only a few stores and shops are owned by private clients.


    The meetingst almost two hours, and my legs starts to hurt since I remained standing at the back when my supervisor needs to blend in with the other heads.


    After the meeting, I quickly prepared my stuff to go home, I can''t waste time since I still have another job to do at Mando''s bar which is in the evening, 2 pm is the end of my shift here at the mall, I can get home at two-thirty in the afternoon so I still have enough time to sleep before evening.


    Instead of riding and going home, sometimes I take a walk save up my money and enjoy my thirty minutes of walking, I always make sure I have a snack with me and eat it until I get home.

    I said then jump from roof to roof until I get near the gate of the factory, the gate is big and had a barbwire attached at the top but I ignore it, I just jump at the top of the gate over those dangerous wires around.


    Landing in front of two men guards, I manage to slit their throats before they can even use their guns, I slowly enter the factory and it has a lot of different rows where all the stics are ced.


    At the bottom part of the factory, you will hear the sound of a raging machine and chainsaw, when I try to look closely at what is going on, I saw the face of the kid with no life being cut open by those men and gently separating the organs from the body.


    I begin to feel angry and aggrieved for those children; the anguish inside me is getting into my nerves which makes my eyes turning into red.


    Almost five men are assisting the cutter and two men are on the lookout.


    With my ability, I quickly slit the neck of the two lookouts and then crashed the head of the rest who is assisting the cutter.


    The cutter does not know what is happening due to the loud sound of the chainsaw he is using to cut the limbs of the child.

    I can see the confusion on his face with the gesture that I am showing him, and when he tried to throw a look at the side corner of the factory his eyes widened seeing his men lying on the ground with crashed heads and a slit throat.


    Out of fear, he tries to run away from me but he can''t even do a single move, I grabbed his hand tightly while cing the chainsaw at the back of his head and when he turns around the chainsaw cuts his face between his upper and lower lips. The upper part of his head drops to the ground while his body remained standing with a gushing burst of his blood.


    Having the same anger inside me, I walk towards the office of the factory owner.


    I try to open the door but the owner pulls a gun and shoots me in the forehead, I passed out on the floor for a minute.


    "Look at you now bitch! No one can stop us even a slut like you!"


    The owner said while looking down at me lying on the floor.


    When the owner is about to escape bringing his bag of money, he is stunned to see me ahead of him, I am already standing in front of him still having a hole in my head.

I choose to pee near the containers to find out what is inside and yes! It is kerosene!


    The guy who is with me to watch out for me is busy with his phone and so I grab the chance to get anything so I can hit him in the head.


    I hit him using the broken wood and he passed out.


    I slowly walk towards the guy who still looking at the board game and snatch the gun behind him.


    When he turned his eyes on me I pointed the gun at him but I have a much better idea for this asshole!


    I shoot the few containers of kerosene and run for my life before it explodes, that is my chance to escape and I sessfully did, running my ass away from the area.

    "Sen, bad news and sorry but they took Martha somewhere though I follow them"


    Gust said which I expected; I already know something is odd about this.

    MARTHA''S POV


    After that incident, they still manage to pay me, even though I almost died in the hands of those bastards Singaporean!


    It is almost one week passed and Selene never faces me again, I guess she must feel guilty about what she did to me, only Gust was the one to fix my payment.


    It also came to my knowledge that Gust and Selene are cousins; she is also the owner of the mall where I work and speaking of mall dang! I need to hurry or else I will bete again, another deduction to my sry!


    About the money I got from them, I need to put it in the bank and keep it there, I cannot let Justin know why or where did I get that amount.


    I hurriedly go to the mall but after reminding Jan to fix breakfast for his brother, good thing I came early since there is no traffic yet.

    MARTHA''S POV

    He shouts his lung out and then starts to run together with his two men.


    I move quickly and appear in front of them; they were frightened and trip themselves over to the ground.


    I grab the arm of the leader and from there I pulled his arm until it breaks, the screeching sound of his breaking skin and bones surrounds the whole area, now he lost his left arm then I grab his head and crash it until his brain and eyes popped out.


    Now I turn my gaze to the other two, they witnessed what happened to their leader and was stoned in their position, scared of what just happened they can''t even move especially when I am just an inch from them, their body is shaking and they sweat all over their faces.


    "Now is the turning of the table... let''s see. What should I do to the both of you?"


    I said with a creepily smile encircling the two terrified men.


    I stop moving to face them and then smirk.


    All you can hear from the abandoned old building is their scream begging for their lives.


    A few hours passed and I managed to get away from the ce even though I look miserable with my clothes filled with blood then Gust calls me.


    "Sen Where are you?"


    Gust asks sounding worried


    "I was kidnapped"

    MARTHA''S POV


    After 45 minutes I am now seeing the building where we are heading, it is also big and has a lot of floors, I don''t know if this building is owned by Ms Selene though here in my folder written "Elites Society head office" and I am busy looking at the building when she said something.


    "Come with me to the conference room"


    She said going out of the car while opening the other door and so I open mine.


    I just nod then walk behind her getting into the lobby and Gust is already inside.


    "Hey boss, hey Mar, the meeting is on the 3rd"


    He said then guides us to the elevator.


    While on the elevator my eyes are looking between Gust and Ms Selene, none of them is moving they are both quietly waiting.

    When we get to the front door of the conference room, the assistant opens it for us.


    Upon entering, I am shocked to see twenty men sitting at the big round table along with their secretaries and assistants standing at their backs, I guess they are the board members, I roamed my eyes more to see every face but I am stopped when I saw a familiar face that shaken my whole system.


    It''s...it is Natasha David... I felt weak and trembled, my knees are shaking, I don''t know what to feel, but the fear inside me remembering what she said suddenlyes back to me, since four years ago up to now I have never been afraid of anyone than Natasha David.


    I almost drop the folder I am holding; I can''t control the fear inside me, and the trembling on my knees makes me weak, with all the strength I have I manage to move my feet and walk towards the door to get out but Ms Selene suddenly holds my hand.


    She hold and squeeze it, I slowly look at her and buried my eyes while she still facing the board members.

    SELENE''S POV


    Waking up from what happenedst night is just an ordinary event for me, this time I can feel all my power and strength have returned.


    Preparing to surprise the boards of the Elites Society I am bothered about something.


    Since the meeting has something to do with the new chairman, I know that Natasha will be present and that leaves me with a thought of Martha seeing Natasha.

    Honestly, I don''t know the rtionship or what business David has with Ms Selene, the emotion going on in this meeting reflects anger and hate towards each other.

    Those words that she said to Natasha keep running through my head, I actually don''t know what to feel and like right now that she is holding and pulling my hand going out of the office.


    I am looking at our entwined hand and if she is a guy I would probably feel something within, seriously I had never felt protected like this in my whole life, and this is the first that someone stood up for me.


    When we get out of the head office suddenly Ms Selene let go of my hand and then breathe out as she looked pissed with that Natasha so I face her and said my apology about what happened, I know it is my issue and I can''t let anyone be


    hurt because of me.


    "Hmmm, I am really sorry Ms Selene about Natasha, I am really sorry Ma''am"


    I said feeling guilty about what happened.


    I try to see her reaction at first it seems like she did not hear anything but then she suddenly faced me.

When we get to the office all the guards give respect to Ms Selene, all the assistants and the head department are all ced themselves at the back and Ms Selene and me at the front walking towards the elevator. While we are heading to the elevator, I noticed how everyone moves fast along with her which is why Gust reminds me to keep myself near her every time or else I will be left out since they are moving like sh! Geez!


    I checked her next itinerary, she will have a meeting with all her department heads, as we enter the elevator, upon getting in I am surprised when all the people behind her were left outside and only Ms Selene alighted the elevator and so I remain outside as well, I guess this elevator is for executives only.


    Then the elevator closed and I am about to rx since I can now move freely as Ms Selene isn''t around but I am shocked when the elevator suddenly opened and saw Ms Selene press the button to stop it from closing.


    "What are you waiting for?"


    She said with a brow up, I try to look around maybe she was pertaining to someone else but it seems everyone is not willing to respond until I realized that it is actually me whom she is talking... damn!


    I quickly enter the elevator to avoid embarrassment; I look idiot assuming it was someone else when I am her secretary... dang Martha! Geez, I hate myself sometimes!


    I just smile at Ms Selene even though I am really embarrassed about what happened, and then she pressed the 20th floor without any reaction.


    She is just quiet as usual while crossing her arms; I guess she has no n of talking or something... well I get that part.


    Before we reach the 20th floor she suddenly speaks.


    "Later after your work, you will be going home with me at the house; I need to discuss further things with you aside from what Gust told you"


    She seriously said and I just quietly nod at her and then get out of the elevator.

    I said then we head our way to the conference room and the assistant standing outside opened the door for us, I enter the room after her when all the department head is already inside and Ms Selene sit in her chair, at first I don''t know where should I sit then I saw my name on the chair beside Ms Selene so I ced myself beside her.

    One of the department heads said.

    Ms Selene said then throws a look at the woman in the third seat from her.

    When we get to the office, I was so amazed by the interior design and how big the office is, the design is so cozy and has a big couch, I notice that Ms Selene has her room to rest and sleep as well, aside from the tables and chair which is obviously for her, I saw a separate table and chair at the side that is named for me, I can see that my space is also wide and cozy though the catch is, I am ced here inside her office together with her.


    So for the whole day, we will be together, seeing each other''s moves and gestures while working and just thinking of that gives me chills, I guess I am seriously not allowed tomit mistakes huh? Haist!!!

    I have these uneasy feelings knowing that those two are having dinner together; I don''t understand why I am so affected by it. Is it because I never had this sort of thing aside from being on the run with Gust? Having what I can call a friend.


    Then I entered my office with Martha at my back.


    "I hope you have already fixed what you need to fix with Valerie."


    I said in a serious tone while preparing my bag to go home.

    I was inside Ms. Valerie''s office when Ms. Selene came. We were actually surprised when she appeared to seem pissed seeing me talking andughing with Ms. Valerie. Well, I finished my work early so I thought it was the right time to fix things with Ms. Valerie about the schedule of Chansze.


    Ms. Valerie is really nice and jolly, she is fun to talk with and so weugh throughout the time. It is not hard to get close to her. So far, she is the first person I have got close to here. She even invited me to have dinner at her ce tomorrow and so I am nning to get approval from Ms. Selene, especially if we don''t have a schedule tomorrow.


    Then she appeared at the door looking pissed. She said she needed me and so I followed her while going back to her office. Aside from looking pissed, she is very serious now, even when she has got her bag. I was wondering what seemed to be the problem. I remember the thing between her and Mr. Monzon earlier. I mean, has something happened that makes her like this? Geez, I just don''t like interfering with someone''s personal errands.


    Upon getting in the car, I can sense her sadness mixing with seemingly pissed emotion about something which I don''t know.


    I secretly looked at her face, wearing those sad eyes. It makes me want to caress her face and make her feel that I can be a friend to her. Although it will never be going to happen, it is not in her personality to get close to others or make friends like Ms. Valerie.


    When we get to their house, the head maid says her greetings along with the other maids; they help Ms. Selene with her bag and other things.


    Then Ms. Selenemands them to stop the chores and have their rest in their quarters. I am now wondering who will cook our dinner. Damn! I am really hungry! Huhuhu...


    "Ahem, Ma''am, I guess you should be eating your dinner now."

    After 45 minutes, the food arrived, and then Ms. Selene suddenly appeared on the stairs going down, I didn''t even notice her walking out of her room.


    She is just wearing shorts and a loose white shirt, she really looks simple now, and she looks different when she wears that formal attire for work than wearing simple clothes now.


    She walked towards me and sat on the floor like I was expecting she would sit on the couch with her legs on the table, but instead she do the Indian sit on the floor and then pulled the fries, burger and chicken towards her.


    I just remained sitting on the couch eating my burger while staring at her. She is like a kid who enjoys eating her dinner on the floor. I can see how rxed she is right now, more than being a boss sitting in her swivel chair.

    As of now, her face is really close to me, we were an inch away, and her eyes are already devoured by the alcohol, and she is staring at me. Her eyes are like a knife piercing me through while the pain and sadness are still around them. I can''t help myself but touch her face.


    I could see that she closed her eyes when I touched her, and then a small tear suddenly formed in her eyes. She was about to wipe it but I stopped her by holding her hand.

 Chapter 12 Undefined Feelings

    MARTHA''S POV


    I woke up in a not-so-familiar room. I roamed my eyes and notice a little ssy and old-style of it, and then I realize which room I was in is, I check the time. Shoot! It is already 8 am. I need to go to work!


    Upon standing to take myself out of the room, I saw prepared clothes beside my bed. I believed that it was for me and, since I don''t have time to waste, I have no choice but to wear them. I am aware that I am here at Ms Selene''s house, so after wearing the clothes I quickly descended the staircase and was surprised to see her at the dining table.


    "Better hurry, your work time will start anytime soon. Have your breakfast so we can go."


    As usual, she seriously reminded me again like nothing special happenedst night, when she cried a lot and I was there to look after her!

    I simply said, then sat at the dining table to have my breakfast.


    While eating, I can''t help myself but notice her actions and gestures. I mean, this is the first time I will eat breakfast with her.

    While we were both in the middle of working, her phone rang and quickly answers it.

    SELENE''S POV


    Tears fall down my cheeks and I am about to wipe them when Martha holds my hand.

    I am now with Valerie on the way to her house.

    From my car I manage to see Valerie and Martha driving away, staring at their car. I changed my clothes, wore ck jeans, and a ck hoodie jacket, I jumped from roof to roof and quickly went to Valerie''s house.


    I am now standing on the roof of Valerie''s neighborhood; I can listen to their conversation and can even see what they are doing.


    I can''t believe how Valerie treats Martha, like how on earth a woman can treat another woman like that. All my life I knew that only a man could do that and I felt pissed every time that Valerie looked Martha in the eyes.


    I just stayed all night looking after them. A littleter, I noticed two vehicle vansing through, they stop at Valerie''s house but what surprised me was when there was a bunch of ck men entering the house and suddenly I heard Martha''s voice shouting in fear.


    I looked closely at what was going on, and then I saw the other ck suited man hit Valerie in the head, which made her unconscious. Then they grab Martha and try to take her with them, damn, do what you guys want but never hurt Martha! At this part, I could no longer control it anymore, my eyes turned red, and then I put on my hoodie and jumped off the roof going to Valerie''s house.


    When I got to the house, I fought those few men waiting outside and then others on the inside. Martha was shocked to see me, though I knew that she couldn''t recognize me, so I just waved my hand signaling Martha to escape and run for her life.


    I fought the other men who remained at the house but I didn''t know that the other few men were still chasing Martha.


    So when I had already killed all the ck men in Valerie''s house, I moved quickly, trying to find where Martha was. Moreps I took and I finally saw Martha still hunting by the other ck suited men, so I jumped over their car to stand in their way. I held the front of the car to stop it but these bastards showered me with gunshots. I could see the surprise on their faces seeing me that I was still alive. I got inside the car and killed every ck-suited man.


    After slitting the neck of thest guy, I moved fast to get to Martha, who was still running for her life. Near the waiting shade, I saw how afraid and tired she was. I am now at the point where I really wanted to get near her, but it was impossible. I can''t let Martha see me like this.


    I stood in the same ce looking at Martha, her body was shaking in fear and her feet were trembling while staring nkly at one corner, which made me feel mad inside.     I felt so bad for her knowing I am actually here around her. I just responded to her while looking straight at her.


    "Where are you?"


    I asked.


    "H-Here in the waiting shade near Barbara Vige Caloocan,"


    Martha said.

    I said, then hurriedly flew back to my house and changed my clothes, then grabbed my car. I have no choice but to drive or else I will bepromised.


    A few minutester, I already saw Martha still sitting on the bench.


    I had just breathed out some air before alighting from my car and slowly walked towards Martha when she saw meing; I was shocked when she suddenly ran towards me and hugged me tightly.


    I can''t even move from my position when Martha hugs me. I didn''t know what to do, but when I heard her crying, I could feel her pain. Right now, all I want to do at this moment is to ease that pain, without any thought, I move my arms and hug her back, I caress her head and let her burst into tears.


    After a few minutes of hugging each other, Martha raised her face to look at me and I looked back at her, when our eyes met, I could see Martha''s sad and tired eyes, her eyes full of tears and then she whispered.


    "Thank you, Selene... you''ve always been my hero-"


    She whispered in a soft voice but was cut off when she suddenly passed out in my arms.


    I carried her and got into the car. I put a nket on her while her little tears fell down her cheek, still unconscious. I wiped her tears and kissed her forehead.


    "You are safe now"


    I mumbled, staring at the sleeping Martha.

 Chapter 15: Warm Gesture

    SELENE''S POV


    Saving Martha from those men, we are now heading to my house.


    After a few minutes, we finally got to the house. I carried Martha and then put her on the bed. I fix the nket and adjust the light to make it more rxing for her, and when I am about to leave the room, Martha suddenly grabs my hand. "Thank you, Ms. Selene,"


    Martha said in her weak voice.


    "Just take a rest and have your off tomorrow, just tell me everything that happened to youter"


    I said, but she refused and was about to get up and go back to check Valerie''s condition. I tried to stop her from getting up but she still insisted even if she was all weak, so it left me no choice but to snap her neck a little and she finally went back to sleep.


    I manage to clean up Valerie''s ce; I get all the dead bodies out of the apartment, I can''t leave any residue or evidence that I was behind the killings, and I can''t seek Gust''s help for now since he has a more important thing to do. I try to look at the CCTV to find some information about those ck troops who want to kidnap Martha. I thought they were after Valerie or just merely a group of robbers but when they point the target at Martha, I guess I kind of have an idea.


    I saw a unique logo that is quite familiar to me. I know I have seen this somewhere, so I sent it to Gust for further investigation.


    MARTHA''S POV


    I wake up with heavy eyes; it is almost 5 am when I check my cellphone. I guess I am here at Ms Selene''s house again since I remember her picking me up at Caloocanst night when that thing happened. My knees started to tremble again. Every time I remember those parts where they are chasing me, I can''t stop shaking in fear. I feel like any time they will be going to kill me and Valerie. Oh shit!!! I almost forgot Valerie! I quickly dialed on my cellphone and called Valerie''s number but it was already out of service.


    I hope she is okay, and about those people, I will never forget what they look like, their attire and the logo it has. It is indeed simr to those Natasha''s men who were in our house four years ago, when they killed my mom, damn! So I am being haunted by Natasha again. Oh God, please help me!     SELENE''S POV


    I skip a heartbeat when Martha hugs me again at my back. I don''t know why, every time she does it I lose control of my heart, it really beats so fast.


    When I slowly turn around to face Martha, I can only see her beautiful face, it is charming in my eyes and those tiny lips like a rosebud make my throat dry for some reason and I can''t help myself but... "Tsuup"

    Imagine everything was prepared for any decision that I will choose to make. Seriously, that is something, and I didn''t see thising!


    While I was giggling, I suddenly remembered Valerie, so I thought of visiting her house with Ms. Selene''s bodyguard.

    As I got there, the guard mentioned that she was in the hospital, so I managed to find what hospital and get the address and hurriedly go there.


    It is currently located in Quezon City. I think it is the hospital where I brought Jan to have him checked up before.


    When I get to the hospital, I ask the nurse''s station where her room is and they provide it.


    I was about to knock when I heard her voice talking to someone, but still, I continued to knock.

I even saw their logos and how they grabbed me and tried to abduct me, thanks to that person in a hoodie. I was able to escape, but how on earth is Valerie''s statement different?

    Heading to the Chansze Corporation, I already know what kind ofpany they have. It''s a loan sharkpany at the same time dealing with export and import products.     SELENE''S POV


    "I will remove all the bullets, and then remain one inside, we will pull the trigger on our head one at a time, I am the first then it is your turn, let''s have destiny decide our fate"


    Garry starts to point the gun to his head and then clicks it, everyone was stunned and got scared of what he did.

    Garry said then smile.


    I quickly hold the gun and without a second thought I click it, they are all shocked by my action, and I just look at them fearlessly.

    Garry did it again, then I do it again as well, and when it was Garry''s turn...

    Garry said but I just give him my sweet smile.


    Then he clicks it again and it didn''t work, now it''s my turn, though Garry was about to say something when I rxingly hold the gun then clicks it and it didn''t work as well, everyone''s heart skipped a beat as I did, even Garry was astounded at my action.


    After my turn, I am still holding the gun then open the revolver and pick the only bullet inside.


    The bullet is defective, it isn''t working in the first ce and I already know it, Garry is just ying his dirty trick which I hate and so it is my turn to y my game. "Fantastic you found out!"


    Garry said while pping his hand, but I am not here to y anymore and so he was shocked when I pick an active bullet and then put it in the revolver.


    I quickly point it to my head then click it and they all start to sweat and get stunned by what I did, such a human reaction, so funny!


    "Let''s have a real game this time Garry, now it''s your turn"


    I said then handed him the gun, his hand is shaking getting the gun from me, I can see the sweat all over his face while he is still trying to act cool on it.


    He then points it to his head then closes his eyes and clicks it, when it did not work he lets out a huge air and calms himself.


    I immediately hold the gun then point it to my head and click it then it didn''t work so I just smile at him, now its Garry''s turn again and this time he is catching his breath, I can see the fear all over his face scared that the gun will work on him. I smile sweetly while looking at him.


    "Remember Garry it''s going to be myst or yours... you''ll about to know your fate soon, Good luck!"


    I said smilingly wide looking at his sweaty face.


    When Garry holds the gun instead of pointing it to his head, he suddenly points it at me which I already anticipate, such a predictable human being!


    I remained calm still sitting in cross legs.

    "Hands on your head, you are all under arrest!"


    A group of cops enters Garry''s office.


    "You''re under arrest for Staffa, illegal import and export of goods and a breach of contract"


    The cop said then cuffed Garry''s hand and his men.


    While everyone is busy, I move fast to get into Garry''s secret room, I check all his drawers andpartment, and then I found a locked metal case, I easily pull the lock and break it with my bare hands.


    All the documents and millions of money were inside.

    MARTHA''S POV


    When I left the hospital and then go straight to our house, I was brought there by Ms. Selene''s driver and the bodyguards she lend me.


    When I get to the house, Justin and Jan isn''t there, so I thought of visiting Mando''s bar.


    When I got there, the bar seems like a little ssroom since all the students of Mr Mando are there in the front of the stage, Mr. Mando used to tell a different story which I also love to hear, it has been quite sometime when he shares a story so if we will find him in the mood of sharing some to us, we take the opportunity to spend time to listen to it.


    I quickly sit beside the kids and listen, every little while kids never stop asking questions which are so adorable! "Mr Mando, do you really believe in the vampire?"


    Lisa asks, the cute girl on my right.


    "Of course!"


    He answered and I can''t help myself butugh at them, I mean who would really believe in that kind of stuff? "Really Mr. Mando? Because based on the TV I watch, in the other country, they do exist, how about here?" Lisa asks again.

    When we were finished with the story session and the kids left, Mr. Mando approaches me.

 Chapter 18 : Leaving Thali

    SELENE''S POV


    The City of Avignon was recognized as part of France in just one century passed.


    Back then, I was only known as Doctor/Professor Selena and lived in Avignon City. I was recognized as a young doctor who cured thousands of people in the said ce.


    Later on, I became a professor at one of the universities for medical majors, and then I met a young, energetic and full of passion student, Marie Thalina Alfaro. She was so amazed by my achievements and recognition at a young age. Thali used to bother me every day to teach her the secret of medicine that could cure every illness which I had been studying since I became a doctor.


    Everything is just clear in my mind, her memories linger with me ever since.


    In the year 1859, FRANCE


    "Please, Selena, I will be good this time. I''ll pass all my subjects! Just give me a hint about that medicine. A form will do! Please!"


    Thali pleaded.


    "You are just a student, Thali, it is not easy toprehend, just finish your studies in great numbers and maybe we can have a good talk again,"


    I said while watching her cute gesture of disappointment, I am smiling within.


    "Alright, then it''s a deal, Sen!"


    Thali said, confusing me about what she called me. I have been known as Selena all my life.


    "Who''s Sen?"


    I confusingly ask.


    "You! Selena is too long for me, Sen is much better, so now I will call you Sen instead."


    Thali said, and then just walked away. I just smiled inside, such a cute kid, though I know she isn''t that young for my age, as I am just 29 in my appearance and she is only 20.


    Thali finished her studies and became an intern doctor in our City; I knew it was her most awaited time to get back to me about our deal.


    When she knocks on the door, I can see how she was amazed to see how beautiful my house is inside, all my books were properly aligned on the shelves, which I bet she loves.


    I started teaching Thali and I must admit we became very close. Thali then decided to live with me while finishing her studies on the amazing medicine I had created.


    When I decide to live my life as a human, I need to act like one. My first-ever woman friend is Thali. Gust, on the other hand, has a mission that I ordered him to do, which is why he is not around.


    Every forty-five years, I always flew out of the ce I stayed in and then live again in another ce with a different profession and personality, on that case, for the first time, it was so hard for me to do it, as much as I wanted to stay. I can''t, though I don''t want to hurt Thali, so before my 45th year here at Avignon, I taught her everything that she needed to know about the medicine and all my form on how I created it. I gave it to Thali.


    "Is it necessary to go Sen hmmm sob* sob*?"


    Thali asked in tears, which I hated to see but I must endure it!


    "I have a family in another country, and they need me. I''m so sorry, but please take care of what I teach you. Every form is my treasure. Please keep it in your mind and heart. It will save a million lives in the future." I said, and then hugged Thali for thest time.


    I can hear how Thali cried when I started to walk towards the door. I left the management of my house to Thali and when I was about to open the door, Thali ran towards me and hugged my back. I stiffened when I felt Thali''s arms around me. "I will always remember you Sen, I love you."


    Thali whispered, and then kissed me on my cheeks, which were almost near to my lips, and then ran away from me. I suddenly stopped moving, I could barely catch my breath, and my heart beat so fast. That feeling was so new to me. It took a minute before I recovered from it, but Thali never came back. She locked herself in her room so I decided to turn the knob and go. If I won''t I will never be able to go anymore.


    That was thest time we saw each other.


    THE YEAR 2020


    MARTHA''S POV


    Since I overslept, I needed to move fast to prepare for my work since Ms Selene is expecting me to be there at 7 am. The driver is already outside waiting for me, so I don''t have a choice but to move fast.


    Good thing, I was used to it even before I was still working at the mall. I just fix myself or put a little makeup inside the car and I manage to look presentable in only thirty minutes.


    After doing my stuff, I said my apologies to the driver and well greeted him with good morning, and then he smiled back and started to drive.


    When we get to Ms. Selene''s house, she is already on the couch waiting for me, damn! I am doomed now, goodness Martha, how can you be so irresponsible!


    I silently yelled at myself.


    Honestly, I don''t get the point of going to her house and then to the office together when I can even go there and wait for her! Goodness!

    I smilingly greeted her.

    She said that made me smile even more.


    "That''s good to know! I kind of like your jokes, Val. Please be well, missed you. Bye."


    I said, and then ended the call. I throw a glimpse at Ms Selene but she is still busy on her phone so I just ignore her this time.


    When we arrived at the building, I suddenly smiled wide when I saw Gust at the entrance waiting for us.


    "Gust, longtime no see!"


    I couldn''t help but hug and greet him.


    "Long time no see Mar, you are getting prettier and prettier, huh?"


    Gust said while teasing me.

    I said, and then we both chuckled.

    We headed our way to the elevator to the office and when we got there, Gust and Ms. Selene entered the private room, so I was left outside and started doing my work.


    SELENE''S POV


    "So what''s the update?"


    I ask.


    "We follow the information about where it is located but when we get there it''s just a big space, others said there is a mansion there before but they couldn''t talk more about it. There was a tragic incident to the family''s owners of the house." Gust exined.


    "So something happened there, even at least one person, and no one wants to say a thing?"


    I asked again, as I couldn''t believe that no one wanted to speak. I mean how serious that event was that even the people around seemed to be scared of talking about it.


    "Yes, based on the same person we talked to, all the people inside the house that was used to be there, including the family itself, were murdered, and the whole house was burned down,"


    Gust exined.


    "Humans are more monsters than I expected, willing to kill, even ughter their kind just to get what they want. It''s fascinating, isn''t it?"


    I said, and then looked at Gust and he just shrugged at it.


    "Well, then do everything to get theplete details. Who is the family and who''s behind it! No one can say no to money... it''s a human''s weakness. Eventually, they will all talk. Money is still money, Gust." I said with crossed arms.


    "Copy that boss, and by the way, Natasha will visit the Hotel at 3"


    Gust said reminding me.


    It suddenly changes my mood after hearing about Natasha''s where about.


    "That woman is no ordinary Sen, just be careful."


    Gust said, trying to warn me.


    I just looked and faced him with very serious eyes. Gust admits that every time I show this expression I mean death to someone.

 Chapter 19: Catching Interest

    SELENE''S POV

    I walked out of the room and Gust was so terrified that he couldn''t move for a while.


    I head my way to my chair and face myputer, I notice Martha is wearing earphones while busy typing.


    I can also hear her singing in a low-tone voice.


    While staring at Martha''s every move, I was stoned a little when Martha unconsciously flipped her hair, and it seemed like the old days, seeing that person in Martha''s gestures and expression. "Thali"


    I whispered while staring at Martha.


    Then reality hits me, waking me from this sort of reminiscing, since I know it''s been how many centuries have passed, and Thali''s expression is still clear in my memory.


    When Gust got out of the room, it caught Martha''s attention and she was stunned to see me already at my table.


    "Oh shoot...! Sorry, Ma''am, I didn''t notice you are there"


    She said. I am still staring at her and that confuses her.


    "Yes, Ma''am? Do you need anything?"


    Martha asked.


    "Nothing! Just continue what you''re doing,"


    I said, and then faced myputer, though in my peripheral vision I could see that Gust was looking at me. I knew he noticed the difference in my gesture towards Martha, and I didn''t want him to overreact to it, so I didn''t mind him. Instead, I just focused on theputer.


    "Hey Sen, got to go now, be always nice to Martha, okay,"


    Gust said, and then winked at Martha before going out. MARTHA''S POV


    I really didn''t notice her presence at her table, Ms. Selene usually does that. I mean the way she moves is silent as always.


    Gust, on the other hand, headed her way out after teasing Ms. Selene and throwing a wink at me, so now that he has already left, things be awkward here when a sudden silence surrounds us. I just put my earphones back and continued my work.


    A whileter my cell phone rang.


    "Yes?"


    I asked the other line.


    "Hey Martha, we will have an uing reunion on Sunday, you should be there!"


    Liezel said as the president of our student council before.


    "Ahmm, I don''t know if I can make it, I am very busy this week, but I will try okay"


    I just simply said while secretly looking at Ms. Selene.


    It is not that I don''t want to attend, but I don''t have a face to show them. I don''t feel embarrassed with whom I am now or what I became, but, it''s human nature, they will always ask what you became andugh if you didn''t meet their expectations from you.


    The truth is, I was an honor student before, and everyone looked up to me and expected something from me. They admire me, which made me famous way back, so living like this, aside from not even finishing college; I know they are expecting me to be a doctor or scientist, at least like my father.


    I lost that life, so I can no longer go back and be mingled with them anymore. I know it''s just my pride, but it is the only thing left for me.


    "But Mar, you are the batch Valedictorian, you should be there at least. The theme is a night ball, so be at your best night dress," Liezel said, still expecting me.


    "I really don''t know Zel, I don''t want to give you false hope, sorry,"


    I said, wearing a sad face, damn I can''t help it. My tears almost dropped when I ended the call. I just breathed out and tried to rx before continuing my work, but I was shocked to see Ms. Selene suddenly beside me.


    I stiffened when she moved her face close to my monitor, seemingly looking for something; it was almost an inch now between our faces, goodness! Here I am again; I blushed to have this kind of feeling which I don''t know why! She is looking seriously at my monitor checking on something.


    Her perfume lingers on my nose, her face looks shiny and soft, and her eyes, gosh! It''s like a silver crystal to look at, damn; I am checking her out now, Goodness!


    Then I was shocked when she suddenly turned her head from monitor to me.


    "Done checking me out?"


    She said facing me, the tip of our noses almost touches each other, until our eyes suddenly met, forming an intimate stare that even my mind shouted to just turn my head away but couldn''t even make a single move, since our eyes just nailed at each other.


    It''s been a minute passed since our staring contest and still in the same position. The door suddenly opened and Gust entered. He caught us in that position, which startled me, but Ms. Selene remains her coolness in the same position facing me, and just stands straight walking towards Gust, who seems confused about what he sees in us.


    He just whispers at her and then looks at me, which I find weird. Well, maybe he is asking about what is going on with us upon getting in.

    After their silent talk, he walks in front of me and then leans forward to my desk.


    "What was that between you two, huh?"

    She said. Then they turned the knob and left.


    I wasn''t even able to give a response since she just left me hanging like that.


    SELENE''S POV


    I listen to Martha''s call, I notice the sadness in her tone so I walk towards her to listen and act like I am just looking for something on herputer.


    Now I can also hear the voice of someone even through the phone, at least the wordsing from their mouth.

    I hurriedly pick up my things to get to Natasha but before I left, I glimpsed Martha who was staring at me.

    I said then, leaving Natasha in a state of shock; all I can see now is Natasha''s body. She can''t even make a single move that makes me smirk.


    I walked toward my car to go back to the office. I am aware that I have lost a little control of my emotions, and I can''t bear to think that Martha will be in danger again, especially after hearing about her death. I feel like I will always lose control. I drive fast to get on time to pick up Martha. Right now I am aware that I no longer have a hold on myself anymore, especially when ites to her.

 Chapter 20: The Abduction

    MARTHA''S POV


    It is almost 6 pm but still, Ms. Selene hasn''t arrived yet. I was thinking of sending her a message if I could go home first instead.


    I had already fixed my things and was ready to go home when my cellphone rang, and it was Ms. Selene.


    "Yes Ma''am?"


    I asked.


    "I am on my way now taking the shortcut road. You can''t go home alone; it is not safe yet, so better wait for me,"


    She said and it made me bite my lips, controlling my giggles. Damn, here I go again, having this feeling every time I deal with her. "Alright Ma''am, I will wait in the lobby,"


    I said. Then she ends the call right away.


    I continue fixing my bag while walking to the elevator when my cell phone rings. I checked it and it was Ms. Selene again. "Yes Ma''am?"


    I asked.


    "Are you already in the elevator?"


    She asked which confused me a little.


    "Currently waiting Ma''am, why?"


    I said.


    "Can you still go back to the office and get the green folder on my table please?"


    She said. I was about to say something to her when suddenly someone grabbed my arms that shocked me.


    "Aaahhh... get off me!!!"


    I shouted and tried to push the person behind me when my cell phone dropped while still active in a call with Ms. Selene


    I can''t see his face but I am sure he is a man wearing a ck cap that hides half of his face and then in a second, I saw his hand with cloth covering my nose, which made me pass out. SELENE''S POV


    "Can you still go back to the office and get the green folder on my table please"


    After I said that, I heard Martha shouting in the other line that she seemed in trouble.


    "Aaahhh... get off me!!!"


    Martha shouted, after hearing that on the other line, I could not stop worrying about her.


    I quickly dialed Gust''s number to seek assistance and help since he could easilye to the building.


    "Gust, go to the office quickly, Martha is in danger, I''ll be on my way now,"


    I said, then ending the call. I know Gust can hurriedly go to the building. Using his vampire ability, he will be able to get there within 10 minutes.


    Right now, I can''t easily use my abilities since I am currently with my driver.


    But damn! I couldn''t hold it anymore, so I just got out of my car while we were at the stop light and then ran as fast as I could.


    In just a few minutes, I easily got to the building, but the office is on the 20th floor and I could no longer wait for the fucking elevator.


    I decided to do what I should not do since it mightpromise me once someone sees and recognizes me but still I jumped from window to window just by quickly getting to the 20th floor.


    I saw Gust roaming around the floor trying to find Martha.


    "We can never find her like this; let''s go check all the CCTV first,"


    I said, and we both ran fast to get there.


    As we entered the security office, I whispered into the two security guards'' ear,manding them to leave. They both left us inside and right away we could navigate all the CCTV footage. Gust navigates it, and atst, we find Martha.


    "Sen take a look, who the fuck did this to her? Oh my God Sen, the elevator will fall at any minute",


    Gust eximed while watching Martha, who was unconsciously sitting on the floor inside the elevator. "Damn Martha!!!"


    I shouted and then quickly went to the elevator, but the door was closed, having this fear inside me that Martha might be dragged down by the falling elevator. I let out all my strength to open the door, my eyes turned red and my fangse out.


    When I finally opened the door, it was on the 22nd floor and was about to fall every second, I thought of climbing up to get inside but its metal string suddenly gave up, which made the elevator rapidly fall to crash on the surface while Martha, is unconscious inside.


    Shit! Please, Martha, wake up, and get a hold of yourself! Damn it!


    I quickly jumped, chasing the falling elevator andnded on its roof, then quickly got in to pull Martha out.


    Martha is barely conscious now and is able to see me, which worries me. I mean, I have let out my fangs now and my eyes aren''t yet back to normal so I turned my face away. "Ma''am"

    Martha whispered, but suddenly passed out.


    I hurriedly lifted Martha, and then, with my full strength, I jumped high to reach the roof of the elevator again. When we were already out, I held on to the other string that served as a lever. Luckily, I was able to save Martha from the elevator crashing.


    Gust and I quickly took Martha to the hospital.


    "So far the patient is okay, a minor bruise, but she is fine,"


    The doctor said but I wasn''t happy about it, I want to make sure she is safe!


    "You''re not going to do a CT scan or MRI? The patient was found unconscious inside a crashing elevator. Head trauma or injury is the possible reason why she passed out and it''s your job to make sure the patient will go home safe and fine! I can pay for all the procedures so do the fucking test on her!"


    I shouted at the doctor. I know Gust couldn''t believe my reaction, a lot of firsts time can be seen in my gestures right now. I am surprised with myself as well, especially when the subject is Martha.


    "Hey Sen, rx,"


    Gust said, trying to calm me down.


    "Those bastards don''t know the right thing to do!"


    I said, trying to control my emotions since I am really pissed off right now!


    "She will be fine Sen, so you need to calm down. Next thing I know, everyone here will be dead in the morning if you don''t calm yourself up!"


    Gust said, trying to loosen me up. I let out some air and calmed myself before facing Gust.


    "Get the copy of the CCTV record of the whole day''s footage; it is impossible that it is Natasha. I just warned her earlier at the hotel"


    I exined.

    I seriously stare at her but my mind keeps on thinking who was that bastard trying to kill Martha this time? I don''t think it is Natasha. I assure her that she will be in lie low haunting Martha. I just hate seeing her in danger. I may not be able to control it anymore next time.

    I opened my eyes and found myself in the hospital. When I looked around, Ms. Selene was just standing next to me while staring at me. She seemed to have a deep thought about something when I called her. "Ma''am"


    I said, and then she turned her eyes on me, looking stunned at seeing me awake. She asked how I felt, and then I said I was okay aside from my arms, which were still hurting.


    I can see how worried she is, so I just assured her that I would be fine.


    Honestly, I wasn''t able to see the man''s face that grabbed and dragged me away from the elevator. I passed out and then woke up inside the elevator where he was doing something around. I just don''t remember what it is, because I just passed out again.


    Ms. Selene just spent her time with me here in the hospital; she is just walking here and there while talking to a lot of people on the phone. I tried to simply gaze at her, then try my best to turn my head away every time she was about to look at me. I pretended to be asleep, and then opened my eyes to throw a glimpse at her again.


    After turning my head away and closing my eyes pretending I was sleeping, I then opened my eyes again, then threw her a look at the window where she was standing just a minute ago, still talking on the phone, but I was confused when I didn''t see her there and I was stunned when she suddenly spoke beside me sitting calmly at the chair with cross legs and arms.


    "Looking for someone?"


    She suddenly said, which startled me and I just turned my head to the other side, then closed my eyes, pulled on the nket and covered myself.


    Shit, that was really embarrassing! I didn''t know she was already sitting beside me, but it was really impossible for her to just move in just a second when going to the chair. I mean, it should at least take time!


    I was still covering myself with a nket when I heard the chair move, then silence surrounded me.


    I slowly uncovered myself with the nket, making sure she was gone, but I was shocked when a soft, warm and moist lip touched my forehead...

 Chapter 21: Secret Admiration

    MARTHA''S POV


    "I will never forgive anyone if something bad happens to you again."


    Words that linger in my mind before I get to sleep I actually don''t know if that is real or just a dream.


    All I remember I felt embarrassed when Ms. Selene caught me doing some stupid gesture and so I covered myself with a nket and that''s it. The rest that I remember from that scene where she kisses me on my forehead seems real, but it is impossible.


    Right now that I had just woken up, I saw her standing near the window. I could hear the word "food", so she is probably now ordering food.


    After talking on the phone, she walks towards me and sits beside me.


    "I ordered food for you since you already had your tulence so you can now eat properly,"


    She said, sitting rxing in the chair.


    "Thank you, Ma''am"


    I responded, still thinking of the word "tulence". I know that word.... hmmm... damn! It''s... fuck! I slowly looked at Ms. Selene and she just turns her eyes on me so I just smile at her.


    Damn! So she smells it! Goodness! This is so embarrassing!!! I am fighting with myself when suddenly someone knocks.


    Finally, the food delivery has arrived, since I have been really hungry.


    Ms. Selene manages the food and she is the one who looks after me and even prepares the food for me, which is really awkward. I mean Ms. Selene Alvuero-Mondre is taking care of me! I am blushing now and I try my best to hide it. The more that she is brave, cold and snobbish, the more that she is actually caring, genuine and nice.


    While she is peeling the orange for me, I am throwing her a look. I cannot believe that Ms. Selene is actually taking care of me, or maybe she felt guilty since I needed to go back to the office for the folder that shemanded me to get. I was in the middle of my thoughts when she glimpsed me.

    Staying in her room made me a little bored and so I tried to call all my clients that I was about to have a meeting and I could see that Martha was already awakened and acting so weirdly awake.     I tried to calm myself so I leaned towards her and kissed her forehead and made her forget this gesture of mine.

 Chapter 22: Pain of the Past

    SELENE''S POV


    I jump off the rooftop with a heavy feeling inside me that will explode anytime.


    I ran as fast as I could until I got to the old abandoned church. Slowly, I entered the church filled with grass and wild bushes inside.


    With a teary eye, I walked down the aisle until I reached the altar. I bent my knees looking down at the floor while crying,

    Those words linger on me. I still remember the time when my husband pleaded for our lives, and the time I saw how the corporals killed my child and my husband. "Aaaahhhhhh..... my baby...... Ambrogio!!!!.....aaahhhhh"

    Sitting on my knee, I am touching the floor, staring bluntly at it. I have an underground space at the bottom of this church. While my eyes are dried with tears, the thought of seeing that man''s tattoo on his neck in the footage makes me feel angry, all the madness, hate and outrage inside me is suddenlying out, shing the image of the tattoo on my mind makes my eyes turn to red and my fangse out.

    MARTHA''S POV


    Until now, Ms. Selene isn''t returning yet. I don''t know why I am expecting her toe back, though she has the right not to, especially if she has an important thing to do.     While watching, my eyes suddenly fell asleep like any time will close, sad and tired eyes are what I have now and I am letting myself sleep when suddenly the door opens and I was shocked to see Ms. Selene


    When she came in, I noticed her eyes. They looked puffy and seemed like she was crying, though I am not sure, I can see that even her looks are really different right now. Her hair is usually tied up and looks sophisticated but now hanging loosely, she is also wearing a denim jacket and jeans with a white shirt inside. She looks stunning. I mean I have never seen her like this every day. I don''t know what has been going on with her and she really looks different, but all I can see within her is sadness. It was reflected in her eyes.


    I can see that she tries to smile behind her serious look; she slowly walks towards the chair that is near my bed and sits.


    I don''t know if I will greet her of what to say to her, should I greet her good evening but it isn''t seems like a good evening for her.


    When I am about to say something, she just starts to speak, which surprises me.


    "How far will you go to revenge your family from the David?"


    She suddenly asked which really surprised me. I mean I didn''t expect her to ask me that, it never came to my mind, even until now. I was used to being weak. I didn''t have anything to fight them with, so I didn''t really know what to answer honestly.


    But if I were to think about it, I must choosewfully, that thew will be the one to punish them.


    "Ahmm, why did you suddenly ask Ma''am?"


    I asked.
