《The Demonic Dungeon》
Prologue
Hi, my name was Alex. I was your everyday human, boring job at the office, cheating now ex-girlfriend, and asshole friends. Well I forgot to mention I wasn''t completely human. I''m about 1/1000th demon. Yes, you heard right demon. Of the hellish kind in case you were wondering. Of course I didn''t know this until after I was dead, but it did explain a lot about my family total sociopaths each and every one of them. On my father''s side that is.
It also explains a lot about my life, what I, at the time, thought was 3 extremely unlucky circumstances all happening around puberty and continuing from there. My parents died when I was 15. Car crash, drunk drivers, the whole shebang. Went to live with my mother''s family til they died in a house fire on my 18th birthday when I moved out. The third circumstance is when I died on my 23rd birthday. Found out my girlfriend was cheating on me with my best friend. Went to go get drunk at the closest bar after finding out when I got shot in the head by a stray bullet by a mugger who missed the rich couple he was aiming at across the street. Soon as I walked round the corner I got pieces of my cranium decorating the wall behind me.Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator.
So that is how I ended up here in a void of nothingness. I saw heaven when I first got here gates and stairways that looked like they were made of gleaming white marble. I was being pulled there til I saw an angel dressed like a Roman legionary blocking my way. The dude grabbed me by the scruff of my neck sniffed at me bit then threw me away saying one word "Demon".
Then I started being pulled toward this red angry light that had buildings made of black onyx and volcanic glass til I ran into a demon dressed as a Greek hoplite this time the same thing happened again only this time the demon said " Too human, not enough Sin".
Now I''m stuck in between no longer moving, no longer seeing, no longer hearing any kind of sound. Stuck in an endless darkness.

Chapter 1: Awakening
I blacked out. I woke up in a small room that was poorly lit with red and grey tinged light. As I looked around on closer inspection the room seems to actually be a cave with small stalagmites popping up at random intervals to make the ground uneven.
I tried looking at myself rather than the rest of my cave and was to see a small red and grey gemstone that reminded me of a cat''s eye with the grey acting as a pupil and the red an iris.
Hello, young dungeon. Congratulations on your awakening.
"Huh.. Who said that??"
I am your dungeon interface. I am here to give you a tutorial then answer any questions you may have before leaving you to your devices. Would you like to have your tutorial or do you want to have your questions answered first.
"I would like to have the tutorial first."
Very good. Your command words are very simple and to the point these will allow you to view your stats and the state of your dungeon. They will also allow you to purchase upgrades for your creatures and your dungeon. Though I must warn you some purchases may be detrimental to you and your dungeon. Say the following words in order to pull up their screen for the first time afterwards you will not have to say them in any order or all at the same time.

Demonic Origin
Battles of wiil are almost certain to be in your favor.
Gained through long exposure of having little to no senses.
Guaranteed to always have enemies
Gained by not being accepted into Heaven or Hell
Demonic Evolutions come faster and stronger.
Increased affinity for fire, ice, and darkness. Decreased affinity for earth, air, and light.
Inherited by bloodline
"That was unexpected. Can you give me any hints for the species I should choose for my dungeon?
I can give more information on the ones I would recommend based on your affinities.
Demonic Humanoids
Difficulty:**
Unique to your dungeon.
Not true demons as those can only exist in Hell. They are humans with enough demonic heritage that it is able to manifest as grey or dark red skin, wings, a spaded tail, and horns. They also have small fangs and claws. Extremely intelligent as a whole enough so that individuals can choose various classes for themselves.
Increased affinity for fire, ice, and darkness. Decreased affinity for earth, air, and light.
Evolutions undefined and extremely varied
Animal
Difficulty:*
Various individual species good for creating a an environmental floor.
Some species can be tamed by intelligent races depending on the animal species and intelligent species.
Evolutions and defined but extremely varied depending on environment.
"Why did you recommend those two?"
Your affinities are practically unheard of. Having the two opposing affinities of ice and fire could lead to very interesting evolutions. As such your dungeon will increase in value despite your demonic origin title. Also it will throw off adventurers when they face against your creations and while being demonic your creations will get certain abilities that make them far deadlier than their normal counterparts.
Also you will be able to add other animals and plants by sending out scouts to collect them and killing them in your dungeon.
"Ok, I can accept your reasoning. I choose Demonic Humanoids and Animal species."
Ok, choose two of these four animal species.
Wolf
Hare
Fox
Deer
"I choose wolves and foxes."
That was fast. May I ask why those two in particular.
"Wolves can herd any animals I need to the dungeon. While foxes are extremely stealthy making them excellent scouts and are omnivorous meaning they can collect both smaller mammals and herbs that I''ll need. They are also very pack oriented which means as long as the humanoid species establish themselves as stronger than them they''ll be able to be tamed."
Ok, you should start building more rooms so you have room for your creations to move around and live in.
For the next week Alex spent all his mana making 5 more rooms and creating 5 young humanoids (2 male, 3 female), 5 wolves (same ratio), and 3 foxes (same ratio). All six rooms are about 125 cubic feet each. During this time Alex opened a small entrance to the surface about 3 ft wide and 4 ft tall.

Chapter 2
After building the five rooms Alex sends out his foxes into the surrounding area to see his basic environment. He seems to have appeared at the base of a mountain that is next to a forest. The forest has little in the way of settlements and has game trails at best. The mountain looked as if it was a border between the forest and a large tundra. Flat and white as snow it had very little signs of life. If Alex had sent his humanoids to scout they would have gotten lost if they didn''t have a connection to him. But the foxes'' superior senses made it so they easily traversed the rough terrain, while they gathered a small amount of valuable plants.
Plant Species
Alchemical plants
Nightshade (high lvl poison)
Dark Moss (mid lvl poison)
White Cap Mushroom (mid lvl healing herb)
Red Spot Mushroom (low lvl poison)
Snakebite Root (high lvl antitoxin)
Blood Willow (legendary lvl healing herb)
Food plants
Snowberries
Strawberries
Blueberries
Waterberries (used for water)
As Alex was absorbing the herbs he was shocked to find the Blood Willow branch, unfortunately he couldn''t recreate the full grown tree. Luckily the branch had seeds on it so he could grow one. He got one of his humanoids to carefully harvest the seeds and plant them in a stalagmite he turned into rich soil and moved into his core room he also turned the floor of his dungeon into similarly rich soil. The stalagmites moved from the ground to the ceiling turning them into stalactites while the ground turned smooth and flat. He grew a waterberry bush inside each one of his rooms, he then had his humanoids harvest the bush that was in his core room and put the berries inside a bowl shaped hole in the grofast He then dropped a stalactite into the hole to crush the berries and release the water inside. He moved the water to the seeds and as soon as the water saturated them, they sprouted and grew fast. The mana enriched soil boosted the level of growth for the small trees making it so it didn''t need light to grow. Alex began to move the trees into circular formation around his core. While he was doing that something walked into his cave. It was similar in shape to a fox but smaller and had a white fur coat very different from the scarlet red coats of the foxes Alex had. As soon as it entered Alex got a notification from his interface.
An Arctic Fox has entered your domain for already having a different sub-species of fox you may accept this new species of fox into your dungeon as well. "Interface, why do females of a species cost more mana than males?"
All females carry a seed of life within themselves. It is through them that a species thrives or falters. Most of the species that you have available for creation prize their females making it so as they care for their young and females more than themselves, or as you might understand it as, a protective instinct meant to further the species instead of the individual.
"Okay so why does the Humanoid selection say that the species is unnamed?"
Because it is a new species on this world none have known or seen any like it thus they are not named as a species. As their creator you must give them a name they can unified behind so they can understand the difference between them and the other races.
"Hmm...so because they''re new I get to name them. Okay let''s call them Demihumans. It''s a mixture of demon and hemi with humans added on to the end because they''re at least part human."
Name of species registered, now when adventurers use identification skill their race will appear as well any personal names their families or tribes give them. New information about Demihumans is now available.
Demihumans
Demihumans are born with a long sinuous spaded tail. Through their childhood they slowly develop their horns until they reach puberty when the horns are fully developed. When puberty begins their wings start to grow out from between their spine and shoulder blades and will continue to grow until they reach a nine feet wing span. Their bones are hollow and are lighter but not harder than mithral. The pollex bone on their wings is enlarged allowing a spike to be formed and be used as an extra weapon in combat. Their skin can range from a dark grey, dark red or a pale white-blue. Their skin matches the color of their magical affinity darkness, fire, ice. If they have a secondary affinity it will show up in their hair color (same affinities). They have small fangs and claws extending half an inch from the meat of their fingers. They stand about 5''6'''' and weigh about 150-200 pounds. They have a high metabolism so it is hard to gain fat or get drunk. Their muscles are compacted in a way that if they have little to no muscle mass they are still 3 times stronger than the average human. A Demihuman''s pregnancy can last up to 4 months, their childhood lasts up to 6 months, puberty lasts another 6 months, complete wing growth lasts 9 months. (Including puberty) Their life span is about 500 years.
"Wow, that is a lot of information. It''s a little hard to process. Well I''m going to expand my dungeon and make the rooms bigger so they have some more room to move around."
Alex increased the size of each of the rooms to 24m long, 15m wide, and 12m tall.

Chapter 3
The first thing Alex did after expanding his rooms was to put some food bushes in every room. He then plants moss inside his core room to keep to much erosion from happening. He plants Dark Moss and Red Spot Mushrooms in the first four rooms making them pop up in small nooks and crannies. He then plants Snakebite Root in his last three rooms along with Nightshade. He then created two female Arctic Foxes because the one that entered was male.
After planting his alchemical herbs he sent out his wolves and foxes to hunt and herd smaller mammals to his dungeon. His Demihumans were trying out their wings for the first time as they now had room to do so comfortably. They had climbed halfway up the walls using their wing spikes and claws. There they reached a 5'' ledge that encircles that room and every other room in the dungeon so his creations have ambush points wherever they are in the dungeon.
As they settled on the ledge they gave each other the appropriate distance between themselves to be able to test out flight. Their goal was to gain a meter or 2 in altitude then fly over the 13 meters between the walls. Then when they gain proficiency flying they''ll start to practice stealth, endurance flying and midair combat.
Over the course of the day the wolves and foxes brought/herded different plants and prey animals to the dungeon.

The large variety of food sources now allowed Alex to be able to support a much larger population then he was currently holding. He was preventing his creations from coupling till now so he decided to let his creations have free reign now that he had varied food sources.
So he spent the next week adding 6 more rooms to the first floor and moving his core room to the end of the dungeon. After the first week he spent 3 days populating all of his rooms with the new plants and animals. Grass now covered the entire floor of every room except the core room which was covered in a new type of moss. He accelerated the growth rate of the wheat, apple, and oak plants till the trees were mighty giants encircling the rooms while large fields of wheat dominated the center of the rooms. He then spawned all of the following into each of the first eleven rooms, 6 hares, 6 rats, 6 squirrels, and these in rooms 7-11, 12 deer, 12 raccoons, 12 boar. The hares, rats, and squirrels all had 4 females and 2 males, the deer, raccoons, boar all had 8 females and 4 males. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.
The rodent species in the dungeon exploded with growth making it so the predators of the dungeon were well fed. The larger prey animals Alex prevented from being hunted so they had a chance to grow making it so his predators had an instinct to hunt these animals seasonally rather than hunt them to extinction with the exception being old or ill animals so they fulfilled their purpose to keep the bloodlines healthy through natural selection.
He mutated the wheat to have similar effect as the rebirth of a Phoenix has so that when every edible part is eaten, harvested or destroyed the rest of the plant crumbles to dust and regrows within an hour.
You have a new plant evolution available.
You have a new Title.
You have a new set of materials available.
"Okay, interface can I get information on all these new updates."

Title: Environmentalist
By thoroughly creating an environment for your creatures to live in evolutions will now come faster and be more engrained into their DNA, while being more naturally powerful than if you force something to evolve.
New Materials available
Wood (shaped)
Tin (ore, ingot)
Copper (ore, ingot, shaped)
Bronze ( ingot, shaped)
Iron (ore, ingot, shaped)
High/Steel (ingot, shaped)
"What is the difference between the forms for the different materials."
They show what form you can make using mana. Shaped can be everyday objects to weapons and armor. Ore is natural form of the material. An ingot is the processed form of the material. Some materials are only found in ingot because they are man made. Other materials can be unlocked through more extensive environments.

Chapter 4: Environmental Changes
Days passed, then Alex got an idea. Well two to be exact, the first one was to infuse an affinity into a certain amount of rooms each, the second was to triple the amount of rooms minus the the core room and to add a room that acts as an entryroom. Giving him a total of 33 different rooms.

The entryway room formed half the size of the regular rooms and had three arches. The arch on the far left was covered in flame patterns and somehow emitted a feeling of warmth. The arch in the middle looked like a night sky full of stars that emitted a sense danger and fear. The arch on the far right was made out of white marble and shaped like icicles while emitting a feeling of cold.Did you know this text is from a different site? The ground in the fire corridor turned gray like ash. While most of the plants gained a fire affinity that replaced other affinities turning most of the flowers a red, orange, or yellow color. The pack of wolves in this corridor fur turned a deep burgundy. The prey animals kept their original coloring except any white fur turned yellow.
In the darkness corridor the ground turned dark brown. The plants turned from black to midnight blue and some powerful healing herbs turned a pearlescent white. While the animals gained deep black coats. The lighting turned down making it an eternal twilight.
The ice corridor had the ground covered in snow and patches of ice. The plants turned a light blue to purple. The animals coats turned white or light blue.
Chapter 5 Evolution
Congratulations you have unlocked several sub species of your creations. This includes but is not limited to animals, plants, and materials. You have gained the following sub species.
Tundra Wolf same price as wolf
Dark Wolf same price as wolf
Red Wolf same price as wolf
Congratulations one of your creatures has evolved!
Your Arctic Fox (female) evolved into a Lesser Snow Kitsune.
Lesser Snow Kitsune
First stage of a Kitsune they are able to produce and use snow to make illusions. They have no human form but are extremely intelligent. Regular foxes serve them. They are indistinguishable from an Arctic Fox until they grow a second tail (also when they gain human form). They live until an accident occurs or are killed. There is no male form, but they can mate with Arctic Foxes in their first stage. They can mate with humanoids of the same affinity in their second stage (humanoid form) or ice spirits that identity as male.
"Well that''s a surprise. I didn''t think one of my creatures would evolve already."
She had probably already possessed the necessary requirements to evolve but lacked the power and affinity concentration to do so. By binding herself to you gave her the power all she needed to do was wait for you to concentrate the affinities within your dungeon.
"I guess I''ll make her the corridor boss. I''ll name her Fuyuko."
You have learned a new skill: Naming
NamingLove what you''re reading? Discover and support the author on the platform they originally published on.
Names have power in a dungeon. Naming a creature will cause it to evolve or if already evolved give enough power to evolve further. Naming a creature allows it to respawn while retaining power and adding to it''s power making it stronger over time causing it to evolve over time with the dungeon. Naming a creature also give them to retain memories every time they die in the dungeon. If a name lines up with the creatures powers or origin it also allows them to evolve or grow much faster in the future.
You have named your lesser snow kitsune Fuyuko. This name means child born in winter. The name you gave Fuyuko lines up with her powers and origin making it a very strong name for her.
Congratulations your named lesser snow kitsune: Fuyuko has evolved into a snow kitsune.
Snow Kitsune
Second stage of a snow kitsune has two tails and a female Arctic Fox girl humanoid form. Two white fox ears on top of the head and a number of tails up to nine tails until the next stage of evolution. Each tail increases a kitsune power making them stronger and more potent with each new tail. A kitsune''s new power''s include:
Teleportation through snow; able to teleport self and other creatures through any form of snow
Humanoid form; able to turn into a humanoid at will
Snow Zero; able to produce snow from nothing
Storm; able to create a blizzard in snowy conditions
Snow Mirage; able to hallucinations and trick the mind using snow
"Hello, Master!!" said a sultry voice. (???)
"Fuyuko?" (Alex)
"Yes Master?" (Fuyuko)
"Why do you have three tails?" (Alex)
"Because my name was such a perfect fit Master!" (Fuyuko)
Outside the dungeon a man full of greed passing by felt the power output by the dungeon.
"Oh, what do we have here??" (???)
Alex made 4 new rooms in his dungeon. One at the end of each of his corridors that was half the size of the previous rooms in the corridor but with higher concentrations of their respective affinities. He then connected them to his core room and added a neutral room twice the size of the corridor rooms for his demihumans to live in behind his core room.

Arc 1
The greedy man looked at the cave he had found the week before. A strange message had appeared in front of him while he was inspecting the cave.
Congratulations you are the first person to find this dungeon.
Warning: This is a racial dungeon while young it has the power to ascend into godhood. Its racial inhabitants gain strength against those it views as enemies.(aka; don''t piss it off)
The man had decided to go grab some of his bandit buddies to come check it out with him. Their group was an all melee group. They had two tanks, a rogue, and two swordsmen.
It had taken him a day or two to get his buddies and five days to find the stupid cave again. They camped a little in front of the cave for the night and decided to go inside at dawn. As the sun rose in the horizon they made their way into the cave and were surprised by the three paths they saw. "Hey Frank you didn''t say anything about there being more than one path!" one of the tanks furiously whispered. "Well how was I supposed to know I didn''t go inside when I found it." the greedy man said.
They ended up spinning the rogue''s daggers to decide which path to take. It pointed at the ice path.
As they made their way through the path they were attacked by several groups of foxes, 6 individual boars, a pack of 6 wolves, and a weird fox that used ice magic. By the time they reached the end of the corridor they were tired, mildly wounded and missing a person. The rogue had died at the beginning of the last boar attack getting slashed by its large tusks, nicking an artery and being left to bleed out as the rest tried to subdue the large beast. Deciding to move on they entered the last room and saw a rather beautiful woman stark naked asleep on the snow bank. What they didn''t notice however were the dozen foxes keeping guard over their mistress.Enjoying this book? Seek out the original to ensure the author gets credit.
As the men approached with lust in their eyes the foxes all let out a series of yelps, hissing, and barking warning their mistress of the danger while warning the men to back off. As the woman woke up they noticed the fox ears high on her head and the three tails appearing just above her rump. The four men quickly backed up startled to see the monster in such a young dungeon. But were quickly entranced by her beautiful silvery blue eyes. As she realized what was happening she giggled and a huge blizzard started up as she and the foxes disappeared.
The kitsune for that is surely what she was, sent foxes and illusions in the shape of foxes to attack the unfortunate bandits as she slowly but surely split them up to kill them one by one none surviving the attacks as they were pummeled by snow and hunted by foxes. The first to fall was the swordsman that led them into the cave as he was fending off an illusion while a real fox pounced on the back of his head. The second swordsman was felled in a similar manner. The tanks lasted a bit longer but as the temperature decreased well below tolerable levels their armor started to get heavier as time passed before they eventually fell to their knees exhausted. Then the foxes tackled them and started to ravage any space not covered with armor successfully ripping apart their throats.
As the last of the bandits fell the clothes, armor and weapons were absorbed by the dungeon while the bodies were left to animals of the ice corridor as their reward.
Chapter 6
"Interface, those were humans were they not? Were they adventurers?" (Alex)
Yes, young dungeon those were humans but they were not adventurers. Most likely they were bandits or some other related outlawish people.
"So most likely there won''t be more humans for a while. Ooh more monster evolutions!!"
Congratulations two more monsters have evolved.
Lesser Fire Kitsune
Pretty much a lesser snow kitsune but with fired or heat.
Lesser Shadow Kitsune
Same except shadows and darkness.
I guess I''ll name these ones to.
I''ll name the fire kitsune, Natsuko, and the shadow kitsune, Yin.
Congratulations both names have perfectly fit your creations evolving them into three tailed kitsune.
Congratulations you have completed the first floor of your dungeon this includes:
?Core Room/Main Treasure RoomThis content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
?Three paths that lead to separate Boss Rooms
?Monsters/Animals to guard each path
?Hidden section that has a developing intelligent race
Congratulations you gained the title: Ruthless
Gained by tiring down invaders with the environment of your dungeon and ambush tactics then killing them when they pushed past their limits.
Invaders (aka "Adventurers") feel a sensation of Doubt and Fear when entering the dungeon.
Doubt: Adventurers will hesitate at critical moments in the dungeon leading to openings during combat for dungeon creations to take advantage of. Effect dependent on strength of the Invader''s will.
Fear:
?Weak Adventurers will avoid this place and if they enter their mind will break due to the stress of the situation making them attack nearby allies. Effects are permanent.
?Mid-strength Adventurers will develop a phobia of whatever they encounter inside the dungeon and develop a deep sense of paranoia. Effects are permanent.
?Strong Adventurers will develop a minor sense of paranoia and become careless if they do not have a strong will. Effects stop after leaving dungeon.
Congratulations your dungeon has developed an aura. The effect of your aura will strengthen the closer they get to your core room. Only intelligent monsters and races are affected by your aura. Anything that has a tie to you is not affected by your aura.
