《Starvation March : Voidborn》 Chapter 1 : The Unknown God was having the time of his endless life. Truly. Nothing could ever be better then watching some random, overpowered dude go around punishing criminals, saving the world (mainly heroines though) and getting a harem full of cute girls. He still wondered why all the reincarnees think that getting lots of girls in their harem is fun. Well, He does technically know since omnipotence and all, but still. It''s nice to pretend ignorance. Soon, however, something draws him away from his por... show. He could feel something happening inside of the Void, something he can''t immediately tell exactly what it is. And not knowing means not being ready for, not being ready for means danger, danger is bad, so bad has to be studied throughtly. Yes, God is really smart, He knows. Arriving in the void with his true body (Essentially a small ball of light), He looks around and finds... well, nothing. You know, nothingness and all. Still, his senses are telling him that something is happening. He doesn''t know what, where or when yet, but hopefully he will. Soon. Cause'' that''s how it always work. Plot armor and all. And indeed he doesn''t have to wait long for something to appear. The void itself began to twist and turn in an impossible manner, since nothingness can''t move, however, this isn''t a place where god exists for nothing so fuck physics. Fuck it real hard. Then, as God looked on, somewhat flabbargasted, something began to appear from all the spacial chaos. Examining it with his senses, God finds himself stupified that he has no fucking idea of what the thing is. If seen by the eyes of a human, the thing looks like darkness in gasseous form. Pure darkness with no light whatsoever in it, sort of like a very small black hole that floats around and doesn''t suck things in. Oh, correction, it does try to eat things though, as when God formed a divine hand and put it through the darkness, it quite literally ate the hand. Now depressed, God slowly directs the black gas out of the void and into the universe. He doesn''t want to risk the thing simply going off on it''s own and causing chaos... it might risk not creating enough! All hail chaos and randomness. Once outside the void, God releases the darkness and watches as it... well, just sorta floats around. Unsatisfied, god probes inside of it with his senses, but is suprised to find that his divine energy He was using was devoured the moment it reached deep enough in the darkness.Support the creativity of authors by visiting Royal Road for this novel and more. Although God isn''t actually a genius like He claims to be, He still is God. If He wasn''t able to notice the darkness expanding, even though it was only a couple centimeters, He would probably have to hang himself out of shame. Wondering what to do with the thing, God began experimenting on the darkness. Although the results were satisfactory, they were also very strange. X, as God had taken to calling the thing, did not actually have any sort of consciousness. This was proven in various ways, like hanging ''food'' in front of it, but it didn''t react. Another thing God discovered was that X could literally devour any and all creation. By eating, it would gain more ''mass'' and get bigger and denser. A little disappointed, God pondered over what to do with the thing. With a flash of inspiration, He teleported away from his divine plane and reappeared in front of a tree the size of multiple suns combined. After exchanging messages with the Universal Tree, the tree reluctanctly gave God one of it''s most precious fruits: The Enlightment Apple. Thanking the tree, God teleported back over to his divine plane and stood in front of X, who as always, was simply eating away at all creation around it in a very simplistic manner. Eat and grow to the extreme, really. With an excited smile, God threw the apple inside the black hole that was X and watched as the apple disappeared inside of it. X froze the moment the apple had entered it''s insides. A strange transformation began to accour, something that should only have happened much, much later in it''s life. Slowly, ripples of a bloody red began to surface on the black ball that was X. Then, the ripples slowly converged into two different points. Watching curiously, God suddently felt something was very, very wrong. However, before He could act, two huge, bloody red eyes emanating a feeling of pure hunger fixed themselves on him. Looking at the eyes in shock, God suddently felt something He hadn''t felt ever since his creation from immemorial times. Fear. Pure and all-encompassing fear. He could only watch in horror as X exploded in a fit of hunger, devouring all the divine essence composing his plane. Awaken from his shock, God tried to flee. Just as he was about to exit the plane, however, X launched itself forward towards God. Forming a huge mouth large enough to devour a city, it bit down on God. God screamed out in pain as he felt at least half of his essence be devoured by X. However, he couldn''t do much about it. He had tested it before, and X was completely immune to basically all magical, astral and divine attacks, much less physical attacks, so the only option was to flee. And flee He did. He gasped for breath even though he didn''t need it and felt as X finished devouring his divine plane and left, heading towards a different universe. God suddently recalled a memory, something He received from the first day of his life by an unknown entity. "Remember, child. One day, a tribulation will come to this multiverse. Although I cannot help you, remember this: Whilst fighting will lead to the end, the end will require love." And so, from that day, the event known by all deities, immortals and other powerful enough being was forever hetched into history: The War of the Devourer Chapter 2 - Flesh Seal Sitting on a chair in the middle of pure white room that gave off an incredibly holy feelingwas a young man, perhaps in his 20''s. Short black hair and pure blue eyes. He could be considered handsome enough to make even some men turn homosexual, but the dark bags under his eyes and his tired demeanor gave a different image from what should be seen. Grabbing at his face whilst gritting his teeth, the old man suddently shot up and screamed out "Fuck! Why am I even in here!? There''s no fucking point!" Suddently, a voice resounded from nowhere "Calm down, God. You know full well that even you need some rest now. Just let us handle this." Although the voice said this, it was shaky and evidently either hurt or scared. Perhaps both. God slammed his hand on the table, pulverizing it in his anger. However, after a couple minutes of deep breaths, he sat down on the chair once again. The voice from before sighed in relief and was about to recede when it heard God mumbling. "600 million years... 600 fucking million years I''ve been fighting... Just a little bit longer... just a tiny bit longer..." God was evidently trying to psyche himself up. The voice could sympathize with him. Although back in it''s home world it was considered the Chief God, in this particular army, it was mere cannon fodder. Furthermore, it hadn''t even lived more then a million years, and it knew that God was at least a couple trillion years old, if not more. And like this, God fell asleep once again. Although falling asleep might be the wrong term, as it merely entered a deep recovery state. Gods don''t need sleep after all. When he woke up a thousand years later, he immediately checked on all the progress of the war. His preparations were finally complete, and his ''generals'' as they were called had set up everything he needed. There was a time God thought of himself as omnipotent, but only now did he realize how wrong he was. He thought he could do everything, but he never actually checked or in truth, barely did anything. Now, however, he understood that there is no such thing as ''omnipotent''. It simply does not exist. Teleporting away from his divine plane, he reappeared next in a strange, black space. This was a spacial distortion, and the reason it was this black was that a titanic seal was placed in here. It didn''t take long for God to realize all the way back at the start of the war that X was essentially invincible, but it was slow and couldn''t actually hurt him easily. However, this went both ways. Neither party could truly hurt each other, and X''s initial attack was by pure luck and stupidity on God''s part. Now, God had spent millions of years finding seals and ways to counter X, with limited success, sure, but stillsomesuccess. This had given him much, much needed hope back when everything seemed ready to be destroyed by the abomination. Now, he had succesfully sealed it in this distortion. He still needed to send troops to fight it off by attracting it''s attention and blocking it from fully concentrating on the seal, but it was still possible to do. Countless universes had been eaten away by X before the sealing, and the damage was completely irreparable. This had not only hurt God, as technically speaking he is the conscience of the Multiverse itself, but also brought about chaos and given rise to... unpleasant factions. Worshippers of Destruction, Unholy Lords and Devouring Angels had sprung up at the opportunity and began to worship X, spreading further chaos in the already chaotic multiverse. God, as a being of pure neutrality towards the multiverse, could only grit his teeth and resist the impulse to wipe them all out. He had only let his subordinates deal with them, but it was never enough. However, right now, that was the least of his concerns. During his sleep, he had finally formulated a formula that theoritically speaking, could finally defeat X. Although defeat might be the wrong word, if he used his cards correctly, X would not only be sealed away, but he would also be able to study it harmlessly. God took in a deep breath and then stepped inside of the distortion. Immediately, the sight that greeted him was one that he had seen many times, but still shook his heart. Angels fleeing desperately from hungry tendrils, gods launching attacks capable of wiping out planets constantly, immortals using their heavenly arts and even endless army of undead commanded by the undead gods. Demon gods constantly trying to corrupt X or erode it away, only to flee when the recoil of their failed attempts almost disintegrated them. The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. At the center of it all, a titanic monster with billions of arms and at least trillions of miles tall stood like an immovable fortress, constantly assaulted by all sides but never even flinching. On the opposite, it feasted on all the measly attacks. The moment God entered the battlefield, the two gigantic, glowing red eyes fixed themselves on him. A flashback of the first time he felt pain in his life passed through God''s mind, but he suppressed it through sheer willpower and experience. This was not the time to hesitate. Roaring out like an exploding star, countless clones of all shapes and sizes appeared besides God, just like an army descended from the heavens. Upon seeing this, all the warriors who had been stalling X sighed in relief and each retreated by their own methods. Teleportation, gateways and ultra-speed flight being only a bunch of them. X looked at God with a predatory gaze and it''s billions of arms all descended upon the clone army. This was the most realistic case of the devil against god to be ever seen by the multiverse, but neither of the contestant had time to appreciate the joke. Terrifying seals and arcane arts were fired as if a dam was suddently broken by the clone army. Millions of X''s arms were sealed away in only the first wave of attacks, but they simply regrew, and God could swear it was laughing at him judging by the pseudo-smile on it''s demonic face. As the hungry arms crashed upon the army, each clone scattered in different directions, each chased by tens of tentacles/arms/???. As for God''s main body, it was being chased by thousands of X''s arms. He skillfully evaded and sealed them away, slowly leading X away from the distortion''s seal. This countinued for weeks until they finally reached the final defense of the seal. God silently undid the seal, hoping, praying to some higher powers that X''s intelligence hadn''t advanced since their first meeting, since any semi-intelligent being could tell this obviously was a trap. However, X was not even 1/4 intelligent. It''s intelligence could, at most, be considered at the level of a snail, only basic instincts. It knew that God was tasty, so it wanted to eat God more then anything else. There is no ''if'' or ''but'', only ''want'' or ''need'' in it''s mind. As God suddently rushed away from X, he reappeared in front of 4 Greater Gods, the strongest of the gods apart from himself. Looking at them with a grim expression, they nodded expressionesly. What they had done could not be forgiven, and they knew it full well even if it was necessary. Their psyche as gods could never allow them mental rest, and as such, they chose to sacrifice themselves for the greater good now. Positioning themselves in a square formation with God at the center, the Greater Gods began chanting and making hand signs. Terrifying ondulations came out from their bodies and a titanic seal was immediately erected around them with only one entrance point. And soon enough, from said entrance point, a colossal figure appeared: X. Upon seeing God, it howled a universe-shaking howl and charged at God like a wild boar. God didn''t even open his eyes however, as X suddently found itself frozen in place. Then, massive amounts of dismembered and disfigured flesh began to flow out from the abyss and converge into X, restricting it''s movements. X''s bloody eyes opened wide and it began to struggle fiercely, albeit uselessly. This formation used the power of souls as fuel, and it had received innumerable amounts of them. As such, not even X could break out of it in less then an hour. As X roared and struggled, the 4 gods began to slowly fade away from existance, as their very existances were consumed by the formation. God stayed silent, but his heart weeped. These were the onlybeings that had existed since before this accursed war, and someof the few he truly cared about. As torrents of flesh and blood flowed into X, it''s struggles gradually grew weaker and weaker until it completely stopped, it''s colossal body densely locked inside the even more colossal amounts of flesh. Then, as by the plan, God''s eyes suddently shot open and the galaxy-sized wriggling ball of flesh condensed, crushing X inside of it until it was the size of a person. X''s essence began to seep out from the insides and invadethe flesh, gradually corroding and eating it away. God knew that this was the crucial part of the plan, and should it fail, the multiverse would be done for. A beautiful apple that radiated a brilliant green color appeared in his hand. This was the Universal Tree''s last gift. God fully knew that the Universal Tree was the real mvp in saving the multiverse. It had sacrificed it''s life to make a perfectly-weaved plan in order to lure X and fully seal it. Not only that, but he had provided a method to get rid of it once and for all. Sort of. God shot forward and shoved the apple into the ball of flesh. It was immediately eaten up by the flesh and it disappeared inside the thing''s stomach in less then the blink of an eye. Then, everything grew still. The struggles stopped and X''s invasion came to a halt, then retreated back inside the body. Slowly, a condensed, round gem appeared inside the flesh''s core, It was black with shades of red here and there, but the main change appeared outside, to the flesh. Slowly, it began to take shape. It wasn''t just a mere moving piece of flesh that had no mind anymore, no. This was the power that the Universal Tree had given it''s life for: The ability to grant anything and anyone enlightment and intelligence. When the flesh finally stopped reforming, a petite, sixteen years old girl with long white hair that reached her ankles and an overly pale, bordering on unhealthy tone of skin. Although her eyes were closed, God could tell they were the very same eyes that X had, a glowing bloody red. Strangely enough, instead of normal human ears the girl had cat ears and a tail the same color of her hair. [Deal with it, I''m a cat-loving fan( ?¡ã ? ?¡ã)] God suddently fell to his knees, sweating and panting. It was a success. Chapter 3 - Sentience After God finally regained his bearing, he scrutinized the girl, or X if you will, a little more closely. ''Mhm... Seems about right. The tree was right that it absorbed my memories, it took the same exact form of that one time..." God sighed, trying to wipe the embarassing memory from his mind, but alas, his subconscious denied him the joy. As the Universal Tree had deduced, X also had the ability to absorb powers, energy, memories and even forms from what it ate, although the exact percent of ''actually absorbed stuff''was impossible for even the tree to deduce. ''Speaking about stuff... Some clothes would be nice.'' With a small movement of his hand, God made a pair of clothes capable of withstanding supernovas. Of course, they could also restrict X in case of danger, but that''s just extra measures. After doing so, he picked up the malnourished girl up and teleported away from the distorted plane. After he left, due to the fact that the only pillar for the plane''sexistance had just abandoned it, it crumbled away into nothingness, bringing with it a legacy better left to the unknown. ~ A couple days later ~ A girl began to stir in a bed, her consciousness slowly awakening for the first time. Her eyes slowly opened, revealing the bright crimson inside them. She slowly got up and looked around herself, finding that she was in what people would call a shack in the middle of the woods, but to her, it felt like seeing the most beautiful thing ever. Of course, anything would bebeautiful if it''s the first thing you saw in your life. Maybe, I didn''t check. She looked at her pale hands tipped with terrifingly sharp nails with a curious expression. Slowly opening and closing said hands several times, as if to check if they worked. After ten or so minutes of doing these sort of things, she slowly got out of bed. However, upon doing this, she realized an obstacle: She had no idea how to stand up. Information began flowing into her mind after she started making a conscious effort, and the girl groaned, holding her head that was throbbing with pain. After a while, the pain subsided and she stood up without trouble. Big accomplishment, you could say, considering her being mentally less then an hour old and all. Looking around once again, one could now spot a difference in her eyes from her previous blank look. Now, she looked confused and disoriented, but now her eyes contained intelligence in them. The door to the shack opened all of a sudden, scaring the girl silly and making her retreat into the corner of the bed, glaring at the intruder. Although in reality, the she was the true intruder, but that''saminordetail. A man, perhaps in his 20''s with short black hair and piercing green eyes followed right after. He stopped and looked at the girl with a strange expression, which the girl couldn''t quite put her finger on, and then began to make strange noises. Once again, a terrible headache hit the girl, getting her to groan in pain. The man''s eyes widened and his muscles tensed, but relaxed after seeing nothing was happening. After a bit of silence, the man finally broke the ice, and this time, the girl could understand. "So, can you understand me now?" The girl pursued her lips, she was still confused about alot of things, but at least she was now aware of her situation. From her point of view, it felt like she just woke up from a very, very long nap and her memories were very hazy at best. However, she could somewhat remember that this man was not someone she should be angering. Although she understood this, what did angering even mean? "... Yes, I can understand you..." She said, almost in a whisper, but the man still heard. Nodding, said man continued "Mhm... Good, that''s already an essential down. Now, tell me everything you remember." The girl looked up at him with a confused expression, but still obliged "I... I remember waking up here a while ago, then I had some headaches and stuff just came to me... I also remember... uh..." She stopped, trying to recall something sheremembered, but nothing came to mind.Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings. The man kept a neutral expression on his face, trying to gather as much information as he could. Obviously, this man was God. He had tried to analyze X in details with his divine sense, but it was completely useless. The only information he could gather was the strenght of her body, whilst what he wanted was the state of her ''core''. A worrying thing he had found was that her body seemed to constantly decay. He had tried to stop it in several ways, and failed several times. He did however conclude that she simply needed to eat or absorb meat to replenish herself, but that was a small price to pay to mantain her sanity. God nodded at her and waved her off with a ''it''s fine, it''s fine''. He had already decided how to deal with this, although he knew it wasn''t the best short-term nor even long-term solution, it was probably the best option he currently had. After giving her a brief introduction, explanations included and explaining to her what she was and who she now was, Xhad almost cried at some of his... slightly mean accusations, but he held back in the end. "... So we fought a long, bloody battle and I ended up sealing you inside of your current body. I then brought you here to rest and finish things up." God said, finishing a rather long and boring story. X had a very complicated expression. Some memories had come to her during this explanation, and she wasn''t sure how to feel. On one hand, she was currently with her arch-nemesis whom she not only fought for billenia, but also destroyed a great part of his ''turf''. On the other hand, he also gave her reason and emotions, which she certainly lacked before. He also didn''t seem to have any hostile intentions, so perhaps this could end peacefully...? The thought of returning back to her mindless self gave X shivers. She could still remember that constant, painful hunger that constantly haunted her and destroyed any possibility of reason. Of course, it''s not like she didn''t feel that hunger anymore, but it wasn''t even in a percent of what it previously was. After giving X a little bit of time to digest all of the information, God continued with yet another dab on her already guilty/scared conscience "Now, as you probably know, I could and should probably just seal you up in the deepest reaches of the void or some other place where you won''t be able to escape for a very long time, slowly losing yourself once again." X just wanted to run away. She just woke up for the first time, why would it be her fault what she previously did?! Go blame whoever sent her there in the first place( ? ?? ?) "However, that wouldn''t fix our problem. Only retard it. Therefore, I decided to speak with you first and see if you now understood the weight of your actions, and also wanted to make an offer to you." God said with an extremely serious (read: scary) face and moved his face close to X''s, looking directly into her eyes. "Become my subordinate and agree to this contract. In exchange, I will teach you how to live normally and can even get you to be my right-hand-man. How is it?" He said, obviously knowing she wouldn''t be able to refuse. God felt proud at his ingeniousity. Well, he had taken this whole ''contract'' thing from the devils, so some hypocrisy could be found here. Just a slight bit. As for X, forget running away. Just curling up and dying would be fine for her. Her arch-nemesis wanted to make her his slave, and even she, with barely any (read: none) experience, could tell this was not something she could refuse. Even just being a slave sounded very bad, but what about being the slave of someone whom hated you to the very core? Yeah, that just screamed ''your fucked'' really loudly, and it might not even be a figure of speech in some cases. Still, if she could get him to at least guarantee some basic godly rights, then maybe it wouldn''t be so bad? Furthermore, who said the contract would be a bad one? Well, her experiences were saying that, but fate was a strange concept even for beings at their level. Maybe it wouldn''t be so bad? "... Fine, what''s the contract like?" She finally said after crying tears of blood on the inside. That smuggy face of God also didnot help. Ah, how wonderful would it be to first smash it into bits with a stone, then cut it off and use it as a trophy... Ignoring the very strange (read: sadistic) expression on X''s face, God took out from a scroll that shined a strange, cerimonial light from he-knows-where and passed it to her. Carefully opening it, she began to slowly read it in order to not miss anything, seeking out hidden clauses all around the paper. Meanwhile, God too wanted to curl up and die. Not only had X takenthat form, she had also completely tookthat personality. And consideringthat person''s deeds, it was not a personality God wanted to deal with. But he was confident he could handle it as long as he kept by his side of the contract.Mhm... Besides, as long as I have those as a last resort, I can stay confident... Obvious to God''s thoughts, X continued her reading undisturbed, and by the time she finished she looked up at God with a suprised expression. "These... Aren''t too bad. I expected worst though?" God laughed slightly and said "Well, I want us to trust each other. As long as you don''t run rampant across the universe, even destroying a world or two is okay with me. Besides, who would ever force such a beautiful (read: starved/unhealthy-looking) maiden like you into doing things she doesn''t want to do?" God said with a teasing smile. Of course, he wasn''t actually enjoying teasing her. It was a test of personality. Mhm, definetly wasn''t... "S-shut up you creepy asshole. Fine! I agree, just get this thing over with..." She said with a slight blush on her face. Again God couldn''t help but retort in his mind attheir similarities. Of course, it was somewhat hypocritical how she was blushing at some teasing when she was stark-naked, enclosed in a house with no one around and the other person was her arch-nemesis. Good thing this isn''t a rape story, else it would end... messily. Chapter 4 - Name Inside of a giant arena, similar to the roman colosseum with the only exception being it''s size (100 times larger), a starved-looking girl weilding two giant warhammers was fighting against a horde of monsters. Chimeras, trolls, ogres and all sorts of creatures from the abyss stormed forth like a tidal wave, only to be mercilessly crushed by either a warhammer or have it''s head bitten off by the true monster in the colosseum: the girl. Weilding the warhammers as if they were little sticks, she jumped around smashing and crushing whilst laughing maniacally. This continued for a whole 5 hours. The once tidal wave of monsters had reduced to a mere trickling by now, and those that did come were, more often then not, scared silly and didn''t even dare attack. The bloodlust radiating off the girl alone was enough to render unconscious the weak of heart, and if that wasn''t enough, thehundreds of thousands of corpses scattered around the pavement like grass were quite the impressive (read: disgusting) sight. As the battle drew to a close, the ground split open and a titanic worm emerged, aiming it''s 10 eyes and huge mouth at the girl, hissing violently. The girl crackled and crushed the last monster before turning towards the worm. "Kekeke, you''re but a worm, so die like one will you?" She asked sweetly, if one ignored the maniacal laugher that went along with it. The worm roared, shaking the earth with the power of it''s voice and viciously charged like a bull towards the girl, who slammed both of her warhammers on the ground, creating huge cracks and making the entire place shake violently, making the worm lose it''s foot(?)hold and fall down with a thump. Before it could get up, the girl jumped on top of it and began to violently smash her warhammers ten, hundreds, thousands of times in a couple of seconds. The hammer blurred as it turned the once titanic worm into a titanic meatpaste. Once she was satisfied with the gore she created, the girl dropped her hammers uncerimoniously and carefreely walked away whilst wiping the single drop of sweat on her forehead. Upon getting a couple hundreds of meters away from the worm, a manappeared besides her, his arms crossed whilst having a raised eyebrow. "So? How did I do? I''m great, right?! Haha..." The girl began boasting the moment she saw the man, but stopped with an awkward expression when she saw his crunched up face. "That was beyond terrible. You completely lack any sort of skill. Whilst you did better then both swords, spears and bows, you still suck. Go to the backyard, we''ll have some lessons there, then go back home for etiquette class." The man said mercilessly, causing the girl to almost start crying. After the man once again poofed out of existance, the girl stopped her crocodile tears and sighed sadly. "Never enough, never enough... And they said I was a genius... a genius my ass!" She said, stomping on the ground, causing it to violently shake. Of course, what she meant were the tens of instructors she had learned under previously. They all claimed her to be an incredible genius, but how could they compare to someone who had existed since time immemorial? The mere amount of knowledge God (yes, that man) had was enough to fill several universes with books. And his expectations matched his knowledge equally, if not more. He was never satisfied with her, no matter how hard she tried. Although she had absorbed some of his knowledge, it was like a drop in the ocean. Furthermore, it was all basic stuff. This had led her to be severely unsatisfied, feeling as though he was that grandpa that was constantly grumpy and never satisfied. X''s physical strenght could be said to only be rivalled by God himself. For example, just to break one of the tiles on the colosseum''s pavement would require an overgod (gods that administer universes, essentially one step below God) to need to use all of their strenght and even then, it would leave them very tired. For her to do it this casually was impressive, however, that was her only advantage. Her magical abilities were null due to the fact that she would simply eat up any and all energy, be it Qi, mana or divine essenceshe absorbed. Furthermore, although she could fight for days on end and any wound would be recovered almost instantly by her insane regeneration, she had to eat equivalently to those advantages, meaning a lot. Furthermore, she was constantly hungry, probably a leftover trait from her time as the Devourer, as she took to calling her previous self. Releasing all tension in her body and trying to calm her chaotic mind, she began to revolve her core slightly. This somehow helped her relax a great deal and immensely helped in her meditation, and she really needed a bit of calm right now. After 10 minutes of doing so, she headed out of the colosseum through a teleportation formation and reappeared in a room filled with all sorts of stuffed animals and torture devices, a strange combination indeed. And for as strange as it was, the girl liked it. Jumping on her bed, she grabbed a stuffed animal with the shape of a cleshire cat. Some people may call it creepy, but to her it just seemed cute. After all, her own cleshire smile was far creepierthen this pseudo-imitation. Muttering devilish curses under her breath, she took her sweet time to relax. Although God had told her to go meet him, he too wasn''t in any particular hurry. Immortals like them had all the time in the multiverse after all.Stolen content warning: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. Blessed by the comfort of her plushie and the soft bed, the girl fell asleep only after a couple dozen minutes of heavy blasphemy. Meanwhile, God was sitting on a chair in the middle of a vast courtyard filled with beautiful decorations and exotic plants whilst sipping on a soft drink. Although on the outside he looked relaxed, inside he was in turmoil. ''As expected of an existance that can even rival me! Her progress is terrifying. If only she wasn''t so crazy.'' He sighed inside, feeling somewhat regretful that she had absorbedthatparticular personality. It''s not like he had anything against bloodthirsty psycopaths. In fact, he rather enjoyed the chaos they spread. However, that was limited to demigod or deitylevels. Hell, he could even tolerate one at the overgod level, but one at his own level would be quite troublesome. Of course, she had already sworn to always obey him and they had made an oath over Fate''s watch. This was an absolute oath, and anyone that broke it was fated to die no matter how hard they struggled. He had given her a lot of leeway and freedom, even promising to teach her and help her in any way he could as long as she did not do anything that would the multiverse. For example, destroying worlds was okay, destroying universes less so. Although it didn''t seem like it much due to his attitude, he was actually starting to enjoy the company of someone who wasn''t truly a subordinate and didn''t treat him like an existance far above them. Although they often argued and even fought (Mostly him just dodging her whilst constantly spewing insults), he thought they were at least starting to become friends. No, he was sure of it. He was one of the foremost researchers on humanoid emotion and psycology, so if he didn''t understand what she was thinking he would just shame himself. She was obviously unsatisfied at his you-suck-do-better attitude, but he had forced himself to keep it. After all, as long as she sought to do better she would improve and if she did improve, so did her chances of finally ridding her past self. Huffing in annoyance, he wondered when life had become so complicated for him. He just sort of wished he could go back a couple billion years when all he did was watch reincarnees do their things and give the occasional advice to some overgod. That had been much more fun then having to constantly research X''s mechanics and having to deal with a psyco. Slumping on his chair, God began cursing to whoever was up there. Unexpectedly, God actually cursed himself. ~ Some hours later ~ As God was meditating, he suddently felt himself leave the chair, then hit the not-so-soft ground really hard. Opening his eyes in a dull motion, he stared at the culprit, whom in turn had a smug smile on her face and was looking down at him. "That was a horrible grab. If I hadn''t been in meditation, I could have instantly gotten free." He instantly shot down her attitude and swiftly threw himself to the left to avoid the warhammer that came down on his previous position. X looked at God with a gaze that could kill, but he completely ignored it and began saying "You swing too hard in one direction and never consider the opponent''s dodge. You also rely too much on your physical strenght..." After a couple hours of lecture & practice (X assaulting God), he decided to finish up the lesson and teleported the both of them back to their house, which in truth was only 3 rooms: God''s room (a white space), X''s room and a living room. Inside of the living room, X sat down on one of the sofas whilst staring boredly at God, who in turn materialized several books and threw them at her. Catching them mid-air, she began reading them one by one. This was one of the options God had given her: Either have God transfer knowledge to her brain which she would have to analyze or simply read them, which was much easier. She chose the latter. Math, history, chemics, divinity, magic, technology... all sort of knowledge was piled up in these books. Furthermore, although X could read a simple book in just a couple of minutes, these books were so packed with words and information it took her several hours just to go through half a book. As they ''peacefully'' did their own things, ignoring the occasional sneaky warhammer smash, God suddently spoke up. "Hey, how are you feeling?" X gave him a look that said ''you insane or something?'' "I''m fine. Why do you ask? Are you perhaps worried about me?" She asked with a smirk, only to be answered with a shake of God''s head. "Naw. I phrased it wrong. I wanted to say something like ''are you feeling... different?" "Different? Huh?" She said with a tilt of her head and a frown. Pondering over it, albeit uselessly, for a while, she ended up saying "Uh, what do you mean exactly?" Sighing, God closed the book he was reading and looked straight at her "I mean it like this: How exactly are you different from your previous self?" Seeing her suprised face, God smirked on the insides. He already knew where he wanted this conversation to go. "Uh... Eh, I... I don''t know? Like, I can actually think? I''m not as stupid?" His smile getting wider, God answered to her retorical questions "Do you know a very strange thing that fate does on us?" Seeing her confused face, God finished his sentence "Well, through much, much study and trials, I learned a very powerful thing. Do you know how demons have true names? It should be in the third edition of demonology." Seeing her nod, God continued "Well, although not as powerful, names have a definite impact on a person''s fate. A name defines who you are as a being, as a self and as a soul. A rock can have a name, although we won''t know it. A name is what an entity can recognize themself by, and fate will take that recognition and use it." X''s eyes were wide open at this point. She was already starting to understand his intentions. "Yo-you mean..." "Yes, I mean it like this: As long as you keep going as X, you will never truly change. So, let me ask you a question..." Getting up from his chair, God walked over to the girl and grabbed her chin a bit forcefully, getting her whole attention on himself. "Do you want a name?" ~ God had to jump away really quick a moment afterwards, as two giant warhammers smashed where he previously stood, creating a giant earthquake. "DON''T EVER DO THAT AGAIN YOU BASTARD! I''M NOT A FUCKING KID!" She screamed in rage, obviously unhappy at his rather... strange actions. Although in truth, she wasn''t as angry as she made herself to be. "Calm down! Calm down! I was just trying to be dramatic! There''s no need to be angry damn it!" He screamed in response, feeling indignated at his dramatical ending going down the drain. Sighing, the girl threw her hammers away once again. She could summon them on a whim from anywhere around the multiverse, so they would never get lost. Truly convenient. "Drama apart, yeah, a name would be nice. X sounds bad anyways." She finally said, giving up. "Mhm..." Nodding God took up a pensive look before saying "Since you inherited her personality, why not also take her name?" Blinking, the girl asked "Who''s personality?" "That''s a story for another time. Rather, how does Alysha sound?" "That''s..." The girl answered, feeling conflicted. On one hand, she wanted to know more and didn''t want to be compared to someone else. On the other hand, the name sounded very nice. "... Fine." She gave in, feeling as if something unrecognizable inside of her change. Beaming, God answered "Great! Now, let''s do a small history test... tell me all the events in details from the start of the 54th universe down to it''s end..." A pained groan was his only response... Chapter 5 - Super The bell ringed and a neverending tide of students rushed into their classrooms, most of them either happily chatting about what they would do during the weekend, how their previous games of basketball, soccer of other sports went or simply reading books. Out of these students, one was wearing a beanie and was currently painfully groaning whilst sitting on a chair with her legs on her desk. Who might this person be? Of course, it''s Alysha, the nonsensical, maniacalsadist. As the bell ringed a second time, the teacher finally stood up from her desk and after a round of greetings, called out "Well kiddos, we''ve got new company today. Say hi to our newest addition, Alysha Deus." Getting up, she went to the front of the class and with a half-hearted curtsie, she introduced herself "Hello, my name is, as heard, Alysha. I''m 16, I like chocolate and I hate school. You''re welcome." She said, earning a laugh from most of the class. Going back to her desk, she plopped on it like a deflated baloon. Rolling her eyes, the teacher resumed her explanations of the various reasons school sucks the theories of mass. After threehours and twoother classes, the lunch bell finally rang. Immediately grabbing her backpack, Alysha swiftly headed down to the cafeteria. Sitting down on an empty table, she swiftly took out a sandvich and began gobbling it down. Why was Alysha, of all people, in a school you ask? She herself wasn''t very sure of it, but it''s not like she had a choice. God had basically forced her to go down in order to ''socialize'' with mortals and learn common sense, which in truth, was hard to do with God. She did, however, get him to come down with her and she also got him to send them to a somewhat ''fun'' planet where people with superpowes exist, albeit rare. As to why she had him come down with her? Well, like hell she would go down and bore herself to death. He needed to suffer as well. Yup, she wasn''t just scared of being lonely. As shedevoured calmly ate her sandvich, two people approached her. Glancing at them only once, she swiftly resumed her lunch, somewhat ignoring them. Ignoring her behaviour, they sat at her table and immediately began to chat "Hey, you''re the new girl, right? How do you like the school? How did the classes go?" The one to speak was a short, somewhat plump although not obvious, girl with glasses. She looked like the average shy girl, but considering she approached Alysha and spoke first, that assumption seemed wrong. "Mmh. It was good." Alysha responded, finally looking at them directly. "That''s great. My name is Sara, and this is my friend Merla." The other girl, Merla, was somewhat taller then Sara, around the height of Alysha (Still short) and seemed much more fit, but she didn''t seem particularly keen on talking. She just nodded and smiled, to which Alysha responded with a smile of her own. The reason these girls had approached Alysha was due to them being somewhat interested in the new girl. They had a class with her, and all she did was blankly stare at the teacher with a bored look, never seeming to pay attention. The teacher had tried to catch her with a question a couple times, but she always perfectly answered, thus the teacher just ignored her for the rest of the class. As the three girls chatted for some time, Sara suddently shushed the other two and looked at a guy that was approaching them with confident strides. Silently whispering to the non-attentive Alysha and always-silent Marla, she said "That''s Max, just ignore theguy, Alysha. He feels like the boss of the school and he''s an absolute jerk to everyone. Just ignore him and you should be good." Nodding absentmindedly as she ate her third sandvich, Alysha glanced at him boredly before resuming her lunch. Max looked like your stereotipical beefed-up rugby player. He was tall, muscular and had a perennial smugface. Overall, tipical bully. That was the statement that appeared in Alysha''s mind a mere second after looking at him. She did some research on human behaviour before coming to the school of course, so she wasn''t completely unprepared. Looking at the three girls, Max felt a bit strange. Although all he really wanted to do was just say hi, people had spread some pretty bad rumors about him. Furthermore, his looks definetly didn''t help his cause, and he also had some anger issues, so he always ended up in trouble. As he looked at the newest girl, he was somewhat impressed at how much she could eat. She seemed all skin and bones, and yet she had already eaten three sandviches. This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there. Unfortunately for her, she had probably already fallen into the trap of those two. He knew from experience that Sara, the plump girl, was not as friendly as she seemed. She would always approach new students and get them on her side and then force them to always side with her through various means, either guilt, blackmail or simple favors. She was the witch of the school for some and a hero for those who didn''t know better. When he reached them, he just ignored the two and addressed Alysha "Hey, how did school go? You like it?" She ignored him completely, not even bothering to look up at her. Frowning a bit he said "You okay? Hey?" Still ignoring him, she took out a chocolate bar and began nibbling on it. Now somewhat pissed off, Max took out a coin and softly threw it at her. She moved back, missing the shot. He could swear he saw her smiling evilly, but that smile dropped the moment the coin hit the chocolate bar, who had moved back along with her. The coin broke the thin chocolate, getting it to fall down to the floor. Silently looking down at her lost candy, Alysha furiously repeated in her mind ''I promised not to kill anyone, I promised not to kill anyone... But I can beat him half to death... Oh right, no excessive violence...'' Still, her anger wouldn''t be stopped so easily. She immediately began to furiously spew insults upon insults upon him, getting the poor guy, who already felt somewhat guilty at his prank gone wrong, to feel like suiciding. "You fucking brain-dead retarded piece of shit! Do you have maggots in your brain instead of neurons!? You think that you can just fucking go around throwing coins at MY chocolate?! Get a god damned life you muscle-brained bastard! Go fuck yourself or I''ll cut off your testicles and shove them down your fucking throat!" She screamed at him, her blue eyes tinged with madness. "I''m sorry! I''m sorry! I''ll pay it back to you, okay?" He tried to excuse himself, but she ignored him and waltzed away fuming. The rest of the day went by quickly. When the final bell rang, Alysha, along with all the other students, melted into a giant tide of students rushing back to their homes via cars, busses or simple walking. She chose the latter. As she walked along the busy streets, she took out an iphone and began calling someone. "Hello? How did the day go?" "Awful, obviously. Your idea sucks, that place sucks. I can''t stand those repulsive brats. Imagine, there were two retards trying to recruit me into their little gang at lunch. I had a really hard time trying not to dismember them." "Hm. That was expected, anything else of note?" "Subjects were easy as shit, people were annoying as shit, toilets smelled like shit..." "I get it, lots of shit. You''re free for the rest of the day, however, don''t touch the school. I''ll see you soon." The other person, God, ended the call quickly, making Alysha somewhat suspicious. Never one to dwell on things too much, she shrugged it off and walked for a couple hours until she found a completely remote and empty alleyway. Throwing her schoolbag into a dimensional ring (conveniently gifted by God), she also took out a black mask that had two tear-like markings under where the eyes should be. Putting it on her face, she looked back up, and where beforehand were bluish eyes, now stood two ominous, glowing red eyes. She also took off her beanie, revealing her two white cat-ears. Sighing in relief at the newfound freedom, she began to stalk through the unhabited areas of the city, searching for a location she had seen on a map but couldn''t quite tell how to get there. After an hour or so, she finally found it. A huge supermarket with hundreds of people inside buying all sorts of very expensive stuff. Grinning like a mad(wo)man, she charged head-first into the wall of the market, smashing it into pieces along with whatever unfortunate soul happened to be in her way. Everyone in the supermarket froze at the sight of a short, creepy-masked person suddently waltzing into a random shop, but since villains weren''t very rare, there was a standard procedure known amongst the populace. Many people immediately got to their knees with their hands over behind their heads, whilst the less experienced ones were at a loss. "Hello slaves of society, I''m gonna be your bosstoday, and we will play ''Who''s the fucker who wants to die first because he doesn''t do as I say''. So, first order of the day, everybody get over tothat wall." Since the market was big, but not huge, everybody had seen what had happened and whilst some silently slipped away, most immediately obeyed. Seeing the entire supermarket at her disposal, Alysha licked her lips and restrained her impulses to brutally kill all of these people. "Now, slaves, you will be good people and just kinda stay there in the background like the non-important little shits you are. Anyone does anything I don''t like, and trust me, there''s a lot of things I don''t like, and you turn into meatpaste." She said before casually lifting an entire shelf (10 meters long) with a single hand and throwing it away. Intimidations over, she leaned over to another shelf and began waiting. Her reason for doing this right now, unexpectedly, was not simply to destroy everything. She first wanted a solid reputation, and for that, she needed to make chaos. Second things, she wanted to test out the strenght of the Heroes that would surely appear in a bit. Third, she wanted to have some mental relief. God had told her that she would only have to go to school thrice a week, and the rest of the time he would just send over a clone that acted exactly like her. Of course, said clone couldn''t shatter continents with a punch, but it would still be enough. The rest of the time, she was free and could basically do whatever she wanted, as long as she followed some basic rules, but even those were very lax. No destroying the world, no genociding humanity and no unprovoked massacres. So, she held by those rules and didn''t kill the hostages. She would limit to killing all but one hero in order for them to spread her amazingness, then maybe beat down some more heroes, make an evil organization, create some evil minions and maybe blow up a city or two. Small stuff, really. After a mere 5 minutes, sirens began wailing outside of the building. Grinning like a kid with a new toy, she picked up two random 10 years olds from the group of captives, much to the dismay of two mothers, and ordered the others to stay where they were. One of the mothers tried to get back her kid violently, so she slapped her, sending her crashing into a wall and probably breaking every bone in her body. She died almost instantly. Turning back around, she headed out of the building with two kids held by their respective necks, each crying or kicking her uselessly. It was time to break things, mostly lives. Chapter 6 - Maniac As I walked out of the building, a policeman began shouting the tipical "Drop the gun! We have you surrounded!" Since he was nice enough to ask politely *snickers*, I obeyed and ''dropped'' the ''gun'', meaning I threw a whole lot of nothing. The policemen, seeing this, probably figured that although I was disarmed, I probably was a super of sorts, so they kept caution but didn''t fire at me, either due to the two kiddos I had by the neck or because they didn''t have the approval yet. Although supers would be strongly prefered, decimating the police could do as well. After all, I came here to build reputation, not to have fun... Well, maybe just a slight bit of fun, but work is important! Maybe. Holding the two now unconscious kids (cut off air supply) in front of me, I shouted out "You have 5 seconds to kill yourselves before I kill these two, and then kill you all. Painfully." Honestly though, I''d probably find them even after they died and kill them again. I mean, I never did say ''how'' to kill themselves right? (Un)Fortunately, they did not listen and 5 seconds passed very slowly (for them). When the countdown reached zero I crushed the necks of the two kiddos before throwing them at the speed of sounds against one of the 6 police cars parked there. The impact that followed threw the car back, but didn''t do much damage. After all, you can''t expect normal meat to crush metal that easily, and I did hold back. Immediately, the police opened fire at me. I took it all in like the good girl I am and kept walking forward, ignoring the alarmed shouts of the policemen. Picking up a nearby car, I smashed it against three policemen, followed by another group. And another. Soon, we were playing a friendly game of tag where I''m the catcher, and if I catch them they die. Pretty horribly too, but those are smaaaaal details. Soon, more and more policemen began arriving. I had, by now, moved a couple hundred meters from the shop and all I was really doing was sending people to good ol'' Satan. He''s such a nice guy, working so hard overtime... Bored of playing with weaklings, I used my full speed for a split second. The next instance, the 40 or so policemen that had arrived found themselves with each of their limbs separated from their torso, heads included. Unfortunately, the civilians had all evacuated the area, so I had nobody to play with anymore. Sighing in sadness, I picked up a random arm and tried eating it, only to remember I still had a mask on. Since I did need to go to hell 3 times a week, I could not just ruin my normal identity. Furthermore, I had come up with a really cool nickname for my ''freetime'', so wasting the opportunity would be pretty stupid. Finally, after 10 more minutes of killing the occasional idiot(policeman) that arrived, I heard a hovering like sound. Looking up at the source, I was met with a punch straight in the face. Flung back hard, I hit a house''s wall, which instantly fell on me. Since the damage done to me was, well, non-existent, I focused my hearing on their conversation in order to get an idea of whether it would be worth it using these guys or waiting for someone stronger to appear. "Good hit Maximus!" A girlish voice said. I could hear three different heartbeats on the ground and one that remained in the air, so 4 people in total. "Yeah, I didn''t expect that''d get that psyco. That''s at least a death-row criminal though, look at all the deaths..." A boy, probably Maximus, said, his voice filled with disgust. "I don''t get how some people can turn into such monsters. She killed even the bystanders!" Said another girly voice, a different one then the other. Harem much? "Guys, I can still sense her presence. I don''t think we should be playing around now." Yet another girl said. Harem confirmed. A huge boom resounded as all the rubble that had fallen on me was thrown to the sides. Getting up slowly, I began to laugh maniacally in a poor attempt at being a good villain. "Kekeke... Heroes, is it? Sure took you a while to come here... Now, let me enjoy your screams!" I shouted and charged at the Maximus guy, who stood a towering 2 meters tall. That''s quite a bit taller then me, but height isn''t strenght, even if they rime. Suprised, but still determined, Maximus roared and charged back at me. Our punches met, creating a strong gust of air. Our 1v1 exchange continued for a minute, until Maximus suddently tripped me with a strange move. Although it only made me stagger, it was enough for Maximus to shout "Now!" Suddently, a man-sized stone hand shot from the ground and grabbed me, then, the person hovering in the air flew down and dropped a whole bunch of things of me. And those things looked quite a lot like granades. If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. "Oh. Shi..." I didn''t get to finish the sentence as 20 something bombs of all sorts exploded in my face, destroying the stone hand and supposedly me too in the process. Breathing heavily, Maximus shouted "Good job! We got her! Angel, heal me!" The girl who had done nothing the whole time replied with a "Yes!" and I couldn''t see the rest of what they did, but I assume she healed him. The flying person (girl too) suddently shouted with fear in her voice "Careful! She isn''t done for yet!" Pissed off at her destroying my carefully planned successive scene, I threw a rock from behind the smoke wall that had formed. It fully hit her dead on, piercing right through her unprotected chest and through her heart. The light in her eyes dimmed and she fell down. Ignoring the panicked screams, I slowly walked out of the smoke, my bloodlust ready to explode and devour everything around me. Illusions of rivers of blood, corpses everywhere, darkened skies and wailing souls began appearing and, if I wasn''t suppressing it to the extremes, these illusions could become a reality. The two girls screamed at me, slowly walking towards them, surrounded by bones, corpses and faces that appeared and faded. "If I had trouble with a bunch of teenegers like you, I would never dare look at myself in the mirror. Become the stepping stone I need and DIE!" I screamed as two giant hammers, the handle over a meter long and the hammers at least the size of a person, appeared in both of my hands. Charging at the annoying harem-seeker, I raised them both and prepared to smash him into oblivion. He had been long since paralized by my bloodlust. Seeing such a weak will, I couldn''t help but snicker at him. Then, the hammers descended. And as the hammers descended, a person suddently appeared in between me and Maximus. Raising his hands, the person blocked both hammers with a single hand each. A giant earthquake was created due to the aftermath and the three(four) heroes were sent flying away. Letting out a stupid sounding "Huh?" I looked down at the person whom had the strenght to stop my somewhat strong hit. Of course, if I was to truly hit hard, this world would be done for, but I didn''t. Wearing an angel mask, the person laughed a bit before saying "Hello there, you having fun?" Recognizing this voice, I screamed out in rage "YOU! IT''S ACTUALLY YOU! MOTHERFUCKER, WHY ARE YOU HEEEREEE???" "Can''t let you have all the fun now, can I?" Inside my mind, a telepathic message also appeared "I''m playing the hero. Play along and I''ll give you an extra-sized chocolate egg at home." Although he couldn''t see it, though it felt as he could, I smiled brightly at the bribe and sent back a "Yes~!" Separating ourselves by jumping in opposites direction, I looked at my enemy,my rival, my friend and my teacher all in one person. Seeing my look, he laughed and said "What? Scared to act now? Weren''t you bragging about not having trouble with heroes before?" "Shut up scumface, you''re different and you know it. However, I''ll still tear you to pieceeeeees!" I screamed and rushed at him, only to suddently find myself confined in a small barrier. Smashing my hammers on the barrier softly, the thing held. Frowning, I smashed them harder, and harder, and harder. Even when I was going at it full strenght, the things held. This meant only one thing: God actually wanted to keep me here, which would be slightly annoying. I kept smashing for 10 or so minutes until I saw him entering the barrier. I couldn''t see the outside, so I wasn''t sure of what he did, but since he wanted to be a hero he probably helped the girl I killed and brought the heroes to safety. As he entered, the barrier disappeared and I felt several scouts now being all around. Grinning, I figured he probably had the same goal as me: to build up reputation. "Well, how should I call you, dear?" He said with a small laugh. "S-shut it! Rather, what''s YOUR nickname brain-dead maggot?" I shouted back, irritated at his usage of friendly terms. We''re enemies for fucks sake! It''s not like I''m actually embarassed. "Haha, well, you can call me Overseer. It fits me, don''t you think?" It did. "No, it sucks. Your naming sense is worst then a bug''s, and bugs don''t have a naming sense. Call me Maniac, you dickfaced retard." I said without a hint of joking, but he shrugged and simply shot back "It''s not like your naming sense is any better. Rather, we should actually fight, else someone else might steal our little show, don''t you thinK?" "For once, I agree." I said and prepared my hammers. Suddently disappearing from sight, I reappeared in front of him and swooped my hammers in a pincer motion with him inbetween. Jumping up just in time, he avoided the hammers and roundhouse kicked me, but I blocked it with the hilt of one of the hammers. An electrical shock at least a couple billions in volts followed his kick, but I endured and smashed him with my other hammer as he kept up his attack. Whilst he flew back, I followed right after him andsmashed like the Maniac I am whenever he touched the ground. However, due to his backpedaling and already higher momentum, he kept dodging all of my attempts. The ground cracked and shattered, buildings were pulverized, the random innocent that hadn''t evacuated (several of them) were turned into meatpaste by our exchange. Then, he suddently flew up into the skies and several spears began appearing all around him. And by several, I mean hundreds of thousands. Seeing him go somewhat serious, I grinned heavily and shouted "Hey bitch, you know what I''ve been doing all these decades!? Well, guess what, I''ve been inventing a new technique! Be proud of me you shit!" Throwing both my arms up with my hands in a cup position, I brought out a small portion of my core out to my hands. From outside, it would look like as if a black hole had suddently appeared in my hands. Of course, this was a very hard and risky move, as well as very hard to master. But still, I succeded. "Hmm. The laws of devouring are very similar to those of gravity. I see you fused them to the most basic level. Try harder next time, as that''s not gonna help you." He said through telepathy, suprising me at how he figured it out. As the heavenly spears rained, a tremendous amount of gravity appeared in the black hole, eating up almost all of the spears. Still, some of them found their way past and impaled me, but those could be counted on two fingers. "Damn you!" I said after reabsorbing my core back into my body. Seeing that by now I had taken enough damage, I had to retire, or this would turn into a real fight, and I couldn''t do that. "I''ll be baaaack you biiitchhhh!!! I''ll rip off your skull and shove it up your anussss!!!" I screamed before waltzing outta there at tremendous speeds, breaking the speed of light. In a matter of instances, I was back at my home, our home. Throwing away my mask, I sat on my bed after a bit of calming down and held my cleshire plushie close. It''s a good thingnobody was there to see that single tear that slid down my face, or it would''ve been quite embarassing. Chapter 7 - Consequences When I woke up, feeling dizzy for some reason, I went downstairs to watch the TV and see how I did. I brought my cleshire plushie with me, too. Jumping on a sofa with my whole body finally free after putting on some clothes that actually fit me (My tail wasn''t confined in my pants anymore), I turned on the TV and skipped a couple channels until I arrived at what seemed to be a news channel. There was the tipical reporter guy, and he seemed to be around the area of our fight. I watched with interest as he spoke. "And so, the great hero team [Justice Eagles] quickly arrived at the scene upon hearing of the attack. However, what they found was far beyond what they expected! Never did anyone think that the attacker could actually be an S-rank criminal, and some claim that she may even be an X-rank, since if Overseer hadn''t come in time, many more might have died! We now will give word to a survivor!" Oh, I remembered that man! T''was the guy that hid under some debris and played dead. "*Coffs*, hello people. Yes, I am indeed lucky to have survived Maniac''s attack. How I survived, I would rather not tell, as it was..." He shivered a bit, obviously traumatized. Ops. "... I was one of the few unlucky ones to be in the shop at the time. At first, when she suddently appeared, she didn''t seem much. However, she quickly killed all those who didn''t obey her... and... that included a mother that just... wished to defend her child..." He began crying and broke down. How weak, seriously, it''s just a bit of gore... "Ahem! As you may see, our interviewed may not be able to tell us much more. Let us switch instead to the savior of the day, the great Overseer!" God appeared on screen, wearing his weird-ass mask and acting all high and mightly. A vein or two might have popped when I saw him like that. "Hello, people of the world. I am a newly appointed hero, and I merely did my duty. It was my honor to be able to defend a nation, no, a world as great as this. I have talked with the leader of the Hero Association, and we have come to an agreement. An order has been sent out to be on the ready for Maniac, and I have told them of her powers. I personally consider her to be an X-threat, however, depending on the situation, she might even be an Hthreat." "Great Overseer, what do you think of Maniac? Why is she doing this?" A random reporter asked, earning a chuckle from God/Overseer. "Well, it''s a long story, but I think I can share it with you all. Although I cannot and would rather not go into detail, it goes like this. She was, unfortunately, captured by a villain scientist whom experimented on her due to her already very high strenght. She was locked up in a cage, fed with drugs and essentially left to die for over 40 years. However, an opportunity arose for her to escape, and now she has vowed revenge on the world." He said with a sad tone. Hey, I almost seem like a righteous girlhere. Almost. A miriad of questions were asked in the span of a couple seconds by countless reporters, whom stormed around Overseer, asking him all sorts of private and strange questions. He calmly answered every question with style, albeit some responses were rather... no, it''s better to say they were completely shameful. "Sir, do you support the Gay and Lesbian association?" One asked for example, and he answered "No. I support the Bisexuals." After all, God was sexless in a term. That fact didn''t bother me at all. Nope. Finally, after placating the storm that were reporters, one random person asked "But, sir Overseer, how do you know so much about an unknown villain that only appeared now?" He chuckled sadly and began narrating "Well, as I said before, she was captured. Well, the truth is, I was the same as her." A round of gasps escaped from everyone around him. I raised an eyebrow and kept listening to the TV "I too was captured, albeit later on then her. We were quite close friends whilst inside that hell. And although we only saw each other every year or so, we still made the most of it. When that fateful day came, I vowed to never let anything like what happened to me happen to anyone else. She wasn''t like me. I tried convincing her, but it was no use. And that is why I made it my mission to stop her, no matter the cost. I shall bring show her the light of the world!" He said with a determined face.Support the author by searching for the original publication of this novel. I began laughing extremely hard at his rather good acting. If I hadn''t known otherwise, I actually would''ve believed him. After all, he himself often jokedthat light was more often then not more dangerous then darkness, as light can kill, darkness can, but only indirectly. As I kept watching the show, laughing every now and then, someone said from behind me "You know, you should really keep your tail in check. If you wave it so hard, something might break." Yelping in suprise, I jumped away from the intruding hero. "S-since when were you even there?" Really though, it was hard making them believe we were not accomplices. I had to make up some evidence, or those people might have arrested me right there and then. Seriously, what''s with them? Oh, and here''s all the things they made up about you." He passed me a strange paper. As I unfolded it, my eyebrows quickly turned frowning and I let out an angry voice "... What the hell?"
