《Infinite Possibility》 Chapter 1: The Beginning Chapter 1: The Beginning Thump¡ thump¡ Ah! I can hear my heart beating so loudly. This was the first thought that entered my mind. Where I am? ¨C I don¡¯t know¡ But what I am sure of is that I am currently hiding. Hiding from what? ¨C I also don¡¯t know. I¡¯m scared¡ even if I know that this is definitely a dream. I held my breath as I tried to calm down my heart. Suddenly a muted sound of rustling can be heard, since the surrounding was unnaturally quite the sound was especially clear. Thought the sound was muted somehow this nearly made my heart jump out of my throat but instinctively I covered my mouth with my hands to prevent sound from escaping. The weird sound was becoming clearer as it neared my location of hiding; the coldness was slowly creeping around my body. Sweat started to wet my face as I wait with bated breath. I¡¯m going to die¡ This was the thought running in my mind as the sound became clearer. Donk It was at this moment of utter despair that a sudden strike to my head woke me from this horrifying dream. 0o0o0o0o0 ¡°Fei Hawthorne!¡± I didn¡¯t hear the voice that was calling my name as I was still immersed with the unnatural terror lingering from the dream. My heart was still pounding so loudly and my breathing ragged. ¡°Fei Hawthorne!¡± It was only on the second call that my attention was directed to the person in front of me. My teacher was standing directly in front of my desk as she looked at me. The teacher, Grace Voltr, was our teacher for English. She has a long black hair tied neatly in a ponytail style with a tall figure and she wore a black formal attire. She looked beautiful and elegant. However it was her sea-foam green eyes which makes her more beautiful. She was not only beautiful but I also heard that she was one of the top English teachers within the whole city. In fact, for me she was very easy to understand when she teaches so she became one of my favorite teachers. However she was strict and especially hate those who sleep on her class. Looking at her, I knew I was in for a round of her stern lecture. However to my surprise, she paused as she looked at me. Grace Voltr was about to give her student, Fei Hawthorne, a stern lecture about sleeping in class when she noticed her paleness which made her stop from scolding this troublesome child from having the guts to sleep in her class. Fei Hawthorne was one of her students that she was familiar with. She has long black hair that was just past her shoulders, big black eyes that usually brighten with energy. She was not the best but also not bad in class. Thought the particular thing about her was she was so into playing games or reading online novels that she tend to get sleepy in her classes. But she finds it particularly cute that thought she was sleepy on her class she never really went too far and really sleep. However today seemed to be a rare day to see her actually sleep. But what caught her attention was how pale she currently was. So instead of giving her a long lecture Grace calmed down and change her mind. ¡°Have you been sleeping late again?¡± My teacher asked after a brief pause. ¡°Sorry¡±, I said as I was unable to really explain. Thought I was really guilty of sleeping late, It was indeed the first time I did not notice I feel asleep and even got a nasty dream. So I was only able to apologize as I continually tried to calm my pounding heart. My teacher frowned as she narrowed her eyes and looked at me. ¡°You don''t seem fine, your too pale.¡± ¡°Teacher, let me accompany her to the infirmary.¡± It was at this time when someone spoke which gave me relief from the my teacher''s intense stare. I looked at the person who spoke behind me. ¡®Ack! The class representative¡¡¯ Quinlan Atwater, the class representative of our class and the ¡®cold face prince¡¯ of the school. He was tall and had black hair and eyes, with matching eyeglass. A typical studious guy however you can¡¯t deny that he was definitely handsome and he also carried the aura of authority emanating from him making him more special and unquestionably suitable to be a class representative . I also heard that he came from a well-known wealthy family that was strict and according to rumors that he was also helping to their family company . This might have contributed on his serious disposition and the dominating aura coming from him. Despite his serious countenance he is quite popular not only on our own class but throughout the school. ¡®Ah! How embarrassing!¡¯ I thought as I bit my lips. Despite the embarrassment I felt in this situation I found myself in, I have been preoccupied by that terrifying dream making me forget my embarrassment. Thinking of that dream I can¡¯t help but shiver. Grace looked at Fei, ¡®Ah! I have to make sure to raise the issue of these games for the next parent-teacher meeting she thought as a heavy sigh escaped her lips. ¡°Good, Quinlan accompany her to the infirmary.¡± Being excused by my teacher,I was relieved and happy. Maybe a good rest will remove my current anxious state. I and Class Rep walk silently to the infirmary. It was past 1 pm in the afternoon and all students were inside their own classes. The hallway was especially quite as we walked, somehow it unnerved me. Secretly peeking at the ever silent guy beside me I was a little bit relieved. Everything after that was a blur. I was lead to the infirmary to take a rest. According to the nurse I was under stress and lack of sleep. With an hour or more of rest I will be able to go back to class. After that, I was left alone in the infirmary. Class Rep went back to class and the nurse went to the other infirmary which was located at the first floor. Left alone in the silent infirmary was not really comforting. I don¡¯t really feel sleepy since I had that dream. Somehow I felt that something terrifying was about to happen. I don¡¯t really know what but the nagging feeling of something was so strong. I decided not to think about it anymore and throw this ominous feeling and just take a moment¡¯s time to overcome the terror of the dream. I didn¡¯t know how long I toss and turned on the bed before I finally got the much needed sleep. ¡ Bang! The piercing sound of window being smashed woke me from my dreamless sleep. Like a bird startled by a bow I suddenly sat on the bed. At first I thought I was dreaming but when I hear screams coming from the window, I got alarmed. I rolled off the bed and jumped to the nearest window which was beside my bed. Heart beating rapidly from being startled by the sound, I cautiously opened the sliding window and looked below. From the sound I felt that it came from the room below the infirmary. Currently I was at the 5th floor of the Building which was also the top floor. Aside from the infirmary which was located at the left part of the building and the library which was at the right, the whole floor was occupied by the indoor gym. As I looked below, I saw something I will never forget. I saw someone who was screaming as he was being pulled inside. Half of his body was already sticking out as his other half was being dragged inside. Normally anyone who saw this situation will be shocked and frightened but what scared me silly was that the person or creature pulling the screaming person! They definitely were not normal!Ah! As they pulled the screaming person they were chewing on him! Blood was spurting everywhere as the person screamed. I froze from shock. My mind blanked as I watched the person scream and struggle to escape from the creatures pulling him. I saw how he was pulled inside the window drenched in his own blood. My body turned cold and weak. The shock was so strong that I lost consciousness. ¡®This is a dream!¡¯ I thought before the darkness wrapped me. ¡ I woke up disoriented and the first thing that I noticed was the bed, it was cold and hard. Before long I found out that I slept on the ground instead of the infirmary bed near me. Ugh! ¡®What am I doing here?¡¯ As I tilted up my head I saw that the sky outside the window. It seems like it was already about 4 or 5 in the afternoon. I sat up and struggled to sit at the bed near me since my feet seemed to numb. ¡°Ah! That dream!¡± I suddenly remembered that unbelievable dream! I shivered as I remember that vivid scene. It was far more scary and horrifying than the first dream I had. Inhale, exhale¡Inhale, exhale¡ Haaa¡ Calming my mind and thinking positively I stood up and went to the opened window. ¡®I wonder if classes are finished. Kara said she will go home with me¡¡¯ As I was thinking about going home, my eyes that were looking at the setting sun was attracted by the strange movement at the ground. My eyes widened as I saw the scene from my position. The scene was so gruesome that made me feel nauseous and overwhelming fear. ¡®It was not a dream!¡¯ My feet suddenly lost its power, but before I slump down the floor I was able to hold on to the windowsill for support. I remembered that scene again. The screaming guy as he was pulled by those creatures! It was really not a dream. ''Zombie'' This word pop-up on my mind. Other than this word, how else can I explain the bloody, mutilated body moving around, there were also mobs of this creatures eating something. Thought I was on the 5th floor I got a good enough eyes to realize what those things that were moving around the school garden were. Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. Outside the building numerous zombies were roaming around as were corpse littered as well. Some of the zombies were eating and others were dragging bodies. ¡®Am I dreaming? This is a dream right?¡¯ I can¡¯t help but think. I watched and read numerous stories about zombies and apocalypse. Just like others who had read and watch these kinds of stories I can¡¯t help imagining scenarios of ¡®what ifs¡¯ but I have never ever wished it to really happen in reality. Well those who really wished this kind of things to really happen in real life have a really big problem in their brain. *pinch* ¡®Agh! It¡¯s definitely painful!¡¯ I finally came to accept that I was not dreaming. Confirming that I was not dreaming I was able to think about the next issue, the issue of me being safe and sound. I looked around the infirmary. It really seemed to be that no one entered here. I tiptoed to the door to check. The door was locked. The only explanation was that the nurse made sure to lock the infirmary when she left me to sleep! ¡®Lucky!¡¯ I can¡¯t help but think! Confirming that the door was tightly shut I slowly knelt to the ground and placed my ears at the door trying to hear any noise from outside. I stayed like this for a minute or so. Hearing nothing I slowly sat down and released a heavy sigh. I¡¯m sure that it was so chaotic when it started. The panic and the fear should have been over the top! I can vividly imagine the chaos. Thinking back at the time when I saw that person screaming as he was drag back inside the window was enough to shock and scare me to unconsciousness. If by chance I did not come to the infirmary today, I can already imagine what will happen! I would have been too scared and had frozen after seeing those zombies. Without a doubt I would have been one of the first to have died today. With the series of coincidence I was able to survive. But now the next issue is what I have to do next? Hugging my knees, I remembered the scene outside the window, the zombies roaming around. From this scene alone it¡¯s not hard to deduce the current situation. Just like the novels and movies, there is a high chance that what is happening now might be a global disaster. ¡®How can I survive this¡? Can I even survive?¡¯ Thinking about this I can¡¯t help but feel scared and helpless. ¡®Where is the main character?¡¯ I can¡¯t help but shout in my mind. Usually in this kind of stories the protagonist was someone strong willed and courageous to survive but unfortunately I am 101% sure that I am not the main character! ¡®If I¡¯m not the main character, at least I should be a side character¡ or maybe an extra that will be saved by the main character?¡¯ Playing with these thoughts, I tried to distract myself from the growing terror in my heart. ¡®I¡¯m scared¡¡¯ Despite trying to stay cool and all, as soon as this thought come forth in my mind I can¡¯t help but silently cry. ¡®I want to go home¡¡¯ Ugh! I¡¯m really weak. Well, you can¡¯t blame me¡ The stories where the main characters starts planning about escaping and saving someone just after the chaos are all rubbish¡err¡or maybe not but I¡¯m not like them. Speaking about saving someone¡ Indeed I¡¯m worried about my family and friends¡ Rumble! ¡®Ugh¡ Hungry¡¡¯ Putting my hands on my stomach I tried to ignore my hunger. The issue now is ¨C to live or die¡ If it really is the apocalypse then this world is already the world of survival of the fittest¡ definitely the era where I have almost 0% chance of survival. I have very weak body¡ in terms of running even an elementary student can outran me! In planning or thinking¡definitely zero!I¡¯m really not someone who can think fast and can think multiple things at a time. So if there are multiple problems happening at a time I pick up one and solve it or if I can¡¯t just skip and go to the next. So if I am currently solving or thinking about the first issue I tend to ignore the others. This attitude really makes me daze over more than once even if I was speaking with someone. In talent ¨C my best friend once told me that my talent was daydreaming ¨C I 100% agree. Ugh! My thoughts wandered again¡ going back to the current main issue¡ To live, I should have courage to go out of this room and look for a way to survive. To die, I should have the courage to jump over the window. Ah! Both need courage¡ Since both need courage, I should choose the first one ¨C to live. As they say, there is hope as long as you¡¯re alive! To Live! With my resolution made, I placed my head on the door again to listen if there were any sounds outside. ¡®¡nothing!¡¯ It was quite outside¡ too quite ¡®What if¡¡¯ I can¡¯t stop my mind as I started to imagine vivid images of ¡®what ifs¡¯. These imaginations started to corrode my courage and resolution! ¡®Iyah!Stop!¡¯ I waved my hands above my head as if trying to shoo away the scary images and imagination running wild in my mind. ¡®Before this resolution crumbles to dust I have to move!¡¯ Standing up I looked at the room. It was just big enough to fit two beds, one nurse desk and one cabinet where all the medicines were displayed. This infirmary was actually not the main infirmary of this building, just an extension since the main was on the first floor. It was specially made for the convenience of the students using the indoor gym and also students on the 4th floor. Arriving at the nurse desk I started to rummage the desk for anything useful. ¡®Tada!¡¯ I was able to find a backpack full of chocolate! Ah! The nurse seemed really into chocolate. Piles of assorted chocolate, 1 Liter of plastic bottled water, flashlight, bandages and assorted medicines I took from the cabinet were all stuffed inside the backpack. I¡¯m not really familiar with all those medicines so I just took as many kinds as I can. I gave one last look around the room just to make sure I have not forgotten anything. ''But before anything else, I have to eat first. Ah!'' I thought as I took two chocolate bars I found and ate it. As I ate, I suddenly remember an important thing that I must never forget. Weapon! I anxiously thought about it. Having something to protect myself with will really be assuring. I continued to chew my chocolate as I look around for anything that can be like a weapon. It was then when I noticed there was nothing similar to a weapon or even a bat in the infirmary. I gloomily sat down the bed, closed my eyes and tried to clear my mind. '' Since I can''t find any here, I might find something in the Gym.'' I thought. The gym was just beside behind the infirmary so it was quite near. As I planned my next action I opened my eyes, and my sight landed on the curtain. ''Ah! The curtain rod!'' I suddenly remembered that it was a suitable weapon like because it was long. With excitement I went and got the curtain rod. ¡®All check!¡¯ Satisfied and feeling ready I wore the backpack and was about to lift it up to headed for the door but before I can even carry the bag I found another issue. ¡®Ugh! Heavy¡ Can I even run with this heavy bag?¡¯ I pondered. I shook my head. No¡ The answer was very obvious. I decided to just remove the bottled medicines and also left almost all the bandages only taking 2 rolls. ''Anyway I can use cloth as substitute'' I thought. ¡®Finally! It¡¯s lighter!¡¯ Happy with the outcome, I carried the bag. Thought it was not light, it was enough that I was able to sill move with it. If worst comes, I can just abandon the bag and run. I walked to the door and I cautiously placed my ears on it once again to check any movements outside even before I even open it. It¡¯s better to make sure of the situation specially I only have a curtain pole as my weapon. With closed eyes and concentrated to check any signs of movement or sound. Seconds to minutes passed but no changes can be heard. I was about to open the door when a crucial issue appeared in my mind ¨C where to go. *Facepalm* ¡®Uwa¡ Such a crucial issue and I forgot about it?!¡¯ Well... I was planning of going to the gym awhile ago but since I already have the curtain pole I have to think of another plan. After a few seconds of brainstorming, an idea struck my mind. I left the bag on the floor and hurriedly checked the whole room once again. First I checked the Nurse desk to check her belongings if there might have been any I have missed. ''Tsk! There''s no phone on the nurse station. Even any school phone.'' I dejectedly thought. That''s right! I need to communicate with my family. Thought there was no phone in the infirmary, I suddenly remembered my phone. ''Ok, at least I know where I can get a phone... next is...'' I walked towards the door and turned the light switch on to check if the electricity was still working fine. When light filled the whole room, I can''t get rid of my excitement. Since electricity was still working fine I think it is still possible to communicate with my family! However my phone was hidden in my bag and it was left in the my classroom which was located on the 4th floor. ''Ok! So first go to my classroom!'' Not only will I be able to get my phone to communicate with my family, I also wanted to know what happened to my friends and classmates. With a goal in mind and a destination was also set I suddenly felt much better. The plan hardened my determination and with a burning vitality I reached out my hand to unlock the door. Slowly sliding the door open. I stopped to take a peek from the gap to see if anything was outside. Seeing nothing, I got more confident to open the door. My heart was beating so loudly and my hands cold and wet with sweat, despite this nervousness that seemed to burn my courage I was able to stick out my head and look outside the door. My breath seemed stuck at my throat as I saw corpses on the hallway. The hallway was quite, no, it was the whole school. It seems like after the chaos started and death became rampant, only hours later, the whole population of the school was either killed, become zombie or the minor number started to hide. From the number of zombies and corpses that can be seen outside the building and lack of zombie or the limited number of corpses on the hallway, you can already deduce that most of the students rushed outside the building during the chaos. Only few people specifically run up on the 5th floor. ¡®Are they dead? Zombie?¡¯ I can¡¯t help but think if these corpse will suddenly stand up or grab me as I walk pass them. ¡®I hope not¡¯ Biting my lips, I completely opened the door and walked into the hallway. With measured steps and controlled movements, I went around the corpses on the ground. Seeing corpses from afar was thousand times different than seeing one so near. I can even smell the strong scent of blood and gore. I felt like vomiting from the scent alone but with will power, I never thought I had, I overcame it and continued to reach the stairs going to the 4th floor. The distance from the infirmary room to the stairs at the far end of the hallway was not that far. It was about 100 steps from the door however it felt like I just traveled miles to get to there. After arriving at the stairs, I was unable to hold it anymore and emptied my stomach. With my throat burning, I felt miserable. It seems like the chocolate I just ate also did not help much on this situation. However I knew, I had to get used to this because I believe this is just the beginning. Chapter 2: The Child Chapter 2: The Child What do you usually do when you hear a scream? Well among common reaction in movies and the like, the main character will follow the sound. During this kind of scene I can¡¯t help but think how stupid that character was. First of all, when you hear a scream it¡¯s given that this is already a warning sign that something bad happened. Second, if you are in a setting where there are zombies, the common sense here is that sounds can attract them. Finally you can read the warning signs from the atmosphere. So every time this happens I can¡¯t help but think how idiotic it is to go find the source of the sound than going further away. One time when I was pulled by my friend to watch a movie which was in a similar setting. I remembered that on the scene where the protagonist heard a scream and still went to check it out, I wasn''t able to stop myself and say my opinion to my friend. Back then I still remember what my friend answered. ¡°Well¡ that¡¯s how the story goes¡ it won¡¯t be interesting if not.¡± I don¡¯t really know if my friend was just lazy and answered like that but somehow I was expecting some kind of better explanation for their behavior. I¡¯m not really good at understanding complicated things but aside from the story being interesting, I have been thinking if there is even a deeper meaning about it. You might be wondering why I¡¯m thinking these useless things right now¡ Well to answer that question, it¡¯s because right now I am doing what I usually criticize from those movies. It was around the time I was cautiously walking down the stairs from the upper floor after resting and composing myself from vomiting my heart out when I heard the scream. The 4th floor was where my classroom was located. Directly below the infirmary of the 5th floor was the first classroom located on the 4th floor. The 2nd year students were the once that were occupying the whole floor. Starting from this classroom, there are 3 more rooms to pass by before my own classroom. From where the scream was coming from it was definitely around that place. Despite the red warning sign that seemed to flash in my mind, curiosity and hope of another person besides me compelled me to follow the sound. ¡®Now¡ I have one possible idea why those characters do it¡¡¯ I smiled wryly as I thought. Checking out to make sure no walking zombies were around I walked down until I reached the last step before I stopped and peeked at the corner to look if the hallway was safe. To my utter amazement there was no sign of any walking dead anywhere, thought you can see how messy the floor was with dead bodies and bloodstain. You can also see the windows destroyed along the hallway some even have blood on it. From this alone you can imagine how terrifying the chaos has been. The whole school has more than thousands of students. In this building alone there are more than 1000 students. How many died and how many survived can be imagined from this scene alone. My mouth went dry and my hands become sticky with sweat. The hallway was illuminated by the setting sun with eerie blood like color. Adding the chaotic scene of blood and bodies it really gave a very scary visual. Looking at it in one way, it seems like a very well made scene found in horror movies. Usually these kinds of things really do not have any impact for me when I was forced by my friend to watch¡ but watching and experiencing it are on a totally different level! The scene I saw on the floor above was not even as terrifying than this. The smell of death was thick on the wind and it was choking me. Who really have the guts to walk through this hallway littered by dead bodies? Who knows if those are even really dead or were already zombified. Leaning my head on the cold wall seemed to clear my mind. ¡®I¡¯m already here¡ standing here will get me nowhere.¡¯ I tried to console myself as I peeked at the hallway again. As I scouted the place, I tried to look as far as I can from my position however it was very weird that there were no walking zombies here when I definitely heard the scream from this floor. Inhale, exhale¡ Inhale, exhale¡ ¡®Ok! I can do this!¡¯ I gripped the pole in my hand tightly as I walked forward cautiously. As I walk silently and neared the first dead body. I slowly extended the pole and poked at it. Seeing that it did not respond I released a breath and continued to do the poking as I walked to make sure none of the dead bodies are ¡®playing dead¡¯. It seems I was able to adapt with the visuals of blood and gore after the experience on the floor above. Thought I can''t help but still uncomfortable and disgusted, It was not as bad as vomiting again like awhile ago. I can''t help but applaud myself for this strange but strong adaptability however somewhere in a corner of my mind, I was also feeling scared of my fast adaptability on this situation. As I arrived at the first classroom I decided to peek inside to check if there any walking dead inside. It¡¯s not good to have ¡®them¡¯ suddenly sneaking behind me. I can¡¯t help but let a soft gasp as I saw the state of the room. I shudder as I imagined if I was in this classroom when it started. Biting my lower lip, I continued to walk forward. I continued to check each room I pass by and noticed that the state of it became more and more chaotic. I also started to have cold sweat as I started to recognize some of the dead bodies on the hallway and at the rooms I peeked at. It was then when I peeked at the last room before mine when I saw something out of ordinary. The lighting in the room was not that good since the light coming from the hallway did not extend all the way inside it and from my spot I can also see cluster of tables that was pushed around and others that already fell. The shadows from poor lighting plus the cluster of tables and chairs created scene which hinder me from seeing anything. Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. There seemed to be something hiding in the shadows. Since I was too scared to step inside, I narrow my eyes as I tried to discern what was inside. ¡®To enter or not¡¯ this question seemed to pop in my mind as I looked on. Two imaginary ¡®me¡¯ inside my mind deliberated about this issue and after a long debate the ¡®me¡¯ who wanted to check inside won. With caution that shot up to the sky and nerves that was tight as a rope I walked inside the room. I also gripped the pole so tightly that it hurt my hands. Entering the room, I stop until the part where there were still light. ¡°Hello?¡± I said uncertainly. If it was a person, they will definitely answer back. Right? As my eyes got used to the low visibility of the room, I got to see a small shadow at the corner of the room. Since there were many chairs scattered around and blocked my vision, I was unable to get a clear understanding of it. Biting my lips, I cautiously neared the place. At this point of time, I can hear my heart started to pound faster and stronger. Like watching a horror movie where you are at the climax part before the monster jumped at the character. Eyes wide, held breath, heart pounding scene! ¡®I might as well die from heart failure! Ah!¡¯ It was then that I saw a silhouette of a child. However what caught my attention was the figure of a student which was lying on the floor, specifically the head which was impaled with a metal pole that seemed to have come from one of the chairs. I was speechless at the scene. Was this done by the child? I cautiously poked the dead body. When it did not respond, I hurriedly rushed to the child at the corner. ¡°Hey¡ are you alright?¡± I softly called the kid. The child was huddled at the corner, since it was too dim I can¡¯t see what he looks like. He was also hugging his knees as his head was bent deep between his arms and knees. Thought he looked about 10 to 12 years old. I slowly moved closer so not to frighten the kid further. ¡°Are you alright?¡± I asked softly as I tapped his shoulder. The shocking paleness of the kid nearly made my heart jump out of my mouth as the kid raised his head from between his knees. I swallowed a mouthful of saliva as I looked at the kid. ¡°Are you alright?¡± I was able to ask again despite the quiver in my voice. Despite the paleness of the kid I felt that he was not a zombie. I don¡¯t know why but I have a strong feeling that he was not a zombie or an enemy. ¡°I¡¯ve been bitten¡¡± ¡°Eh?¡± I froze as I heard what the kid said. It took a while before my mind was able to digest what he said. My eyes traveled down and saw the glaring wound on his neck and shoulder. I only noticed it now that my eyes adjusted to the dim lighting of the room. ¡°I¡¯ll become like them right?¡± The kid continued. Fear can be detected from the soft and shaky voice of the child. My mind was caught in a dilemma on how to answer his question when he and I knew what will happen. ¡°You¡¯ll be alright¡¡± I whispered, not looking at his eyes. Avoiding the child¡¯s gaze I removed my backpack and hurriedly took out the bandage from the bag. I didn¡¯t really know how to use the boxed medicines but I do know a little about first aid on cleaning and dressing the wounds. I was already sweating a lot when I finished. Despite my clumsiness I was relieved that I completed the task. Watching someone doing it and doing it for practice was 100% more difficult than doing it in a real situation. Mentally and physically exhausted I weakly sat beside the kid. From the start till I finished cleaning and bandaging, the kid and I never spoke. I really didn¡¯t know what to say in this situation and he seemed too weak to speak as well. Closing my eyes I tried to rest my mind. After a while I looked at the door of the classroom and noticed that the light was dimmer and I can¡¯t help think that night was approaching. ¡®Can I survive until dawn¡?¡¯ As my mind wondered my head tilted and looked at the kid beside me. My eyes were drawn to the white bandage that was already soaked with blood. Seeing the blood and the paleness of the kid¡¯s face, the word death seemed to persistently nudge my mind but I tried to brush the thought away. Death, what a heavy word! Ah! However somewhere inside me, I have accepted that this will be something that I will be encountering from now on. From all the dead bodies I saw since leaving the infirmary to my encounter with this kid that seems to be in the verge of death, I knew that this is already a world that the weak can''t live on. Die or Survive. Only two options for us that is still alive. And I was one of those people who chose to live. How true was the saying that I usually hear. A person will not really be able to fully understand the value of something until it is lost. Now, the seemingly boring days that I sit in class became something I wish I can go back to. Longing for the old days and fear of the unknown future really can make any person mentally and emotionally drained. Pulling back my thoughts, I softly spoke with the kid. ¡°Oh¡ I have not introduced myself yet¡ I¡¯m Fei Hawthorne¡what¡¯s your name?¡± I waited a minute, checking to see if he will answer my question. When I thought he will not answer me, he started coughing. I panicked but quickly positioned my hand at his back and gently patted to ease his coughing fit. As I help ease his cough, I can¡¯t help but notice how abnormally hot his body was. Seeing that his cough settled I went to my bag and took the water to let him drink. ¡°Here¡ drink some water¡¡± I slowly said as I assisted him in drinking. ¡°Thank you¡¡± He whispered. He looked at me and I can see that the fear from his eyes has disappeared and replaced it was determination and also hope. I knew that he wanted to say something so I decided to keep my mouth shut and waited for him to continue. ¡°I know¡I¡¯m about to die but before that I hope you can help me do something¡¡± Chapter 3: Childs Request Chapter 3: Child''s Request ¡°A request?¡± ¡°Please, please look for my grandpa¡¡± Eh? ¡°Actually I came here to meet my grandpa before everything started¡¡±he began, explaining. It took a while to understand his story since he lack the strength to speak. However regardless of his weakness he did not stop till he finished his story. Apparently the kid always come here to meet with is grandfather whenever he had time. So when everything happened he was on his way to the library where his grandfather works. Fortunately despite the chaos he was able to hide in the cleaning cabinet located at the second floor. His small stature was his saving grace since the cabinet couldn¡¯t accommodate the size of any high school student. It also helped that everyone was running towards the exit instead of looking for a place to hide, not that they can fit where he was located but at least no one opened the cabinet lest they expose his location. ¡°I see¡¡± I looked at the child¡¯s pale face as I tip my head to the right. ¡°Come to think of it¡ you look to young to be in high school,¡± I whisper. Looking at his build and young face, he might be an elementary student. Since I was too preoccupied on bandaging his wounds I did not notice it a while ago . It turned out that he was going to meet with his grandfather. Thought it was rare to have elementary or junior students to be seen here, it was not entirely impossible because the Elementary and Junior Division was located at the same area as the High School Division. It was just that each division was separated by a certain distance thought since the whole campus is too broad, it will take about 15 to 20 minuets of walk from here to any of the two division. Green Woods Academy, this school was a well-known school. It was not only known for its high standards in education but also to the large area that it occupies. As the name states, the academy was located at the heart of Green Woods forest. The whole forest and areas near it was also owned by the academy. The academy was so large and famous that most of the students from cities near it studies here. There are also some students that came from far cities so there is a boarding facility for them. On the other hand, I usually commute from house to school everyday. I have once submitted my application to boarding features of the academy however I was declined. Apparently the academy gives priority to those who are from far places and since I live at Flur which is the nearest city here they said I can just commute to school. I still remember how upset I was when my application was declined since I still have a hard time commuting from home to the school. Imagine the 30 or more minutes of travel. Now that the apocalypse is here I''m now in a dilemma of how to go back to the city and look for my family. The problem of distance and location is definitely big. After a heavy sigh, I shook my head and got back on the current conversation. ¡®Speaking of which¡¡¯ ¡°You mentioned the library¡ So your grandfather is a librarian?¡± ¡°En¡±, He nodded in agreement. In the whole building, there is only one library which was located at the top floor. The library together with the gym took most of the space in the 5th floor making them really spacious for students. Hm?¡®Was there an old librarian there?¡¯ I tried to remember if I had ever encountered the old man before since I frequently visited the library because of Aya, a close childhood friend, was a member of the library committee. There were many times that she had to stay at the library until late hours after school to arrange and fix the books thus I usually accompany her during those times. I frowned as I tried to recall all the times that I have gone to the library but I have never met the old man.¡®How weird¡¡¯ ¡°Will you go look for grandpa?¡± My thoughts were pulled away by his voice, pulling my eyes towards his face which was looking earnestly at me. Hope and anxiety both mixed in his eyes as he waited for my answer. A dying child and his request, an old man whose status is unknown and me an ordinary high school student in a school full of danger. However you look at it, the situation was definitely in the red zone. If I think logically, for me to risk my life to look for someone whose status was unknown should definitely be a no-go. You might ask why¡ well to start of ¨C survival. The kid was about to die so why should I risk my life for him? Thought his request of looking for his grandpa seemed easy, especially I already came from the fifth floor and did not encounter any zombie, I was not able to check the situation of the whole floor aside from the area where the infirmary was located. Moreover I only walked the hallway and did not really exploration the whole place. So it will not be surprising if there are dangers lurking in the area. The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement. Another issue is the person I was to look for ¨C the child¡¯s grandpa¡ Usually in a settings where danger is everywhere especially to situations similar to this zombie apocalypse, the children or the old people are the first to fall if they don¡¯t have any protection. So somewhere deep inside I have this feeling that his grandfather might have died or zombiefied. I opened my mouth decline the request however as I look at his eyes, the voice did not come out. ¡°I¡¯ll... I''ll go¡¡± I finally answered after a while of indecision. Looking at the bright side, I might encounter another survivor and there might be little to no zombies outside since I have not encountered anything when I left the infirmary. ¡°I¡¯ll go and look for your grandpa¡¡± I repeated. My voice was strong as my determination. Since it came to this, I¡¯ll see it through the end¡ The child¡¯s face lit up and a wide thought weak smile bloomed. Thought his face was as pale as paper his happiness can be seen. This alone made me smile and see something other than the depressing situation we are in. ¡°Thank you¡¡± the child whispered before he closed his eyes to rest. I stared at the child¡¯s face which was still smiling and my smile disappeared as a bitter feeling swept me. ¡®For a child to die like this¡¡¯ ¡®This will be the first but not the last¡¡¯ These thoughts suddenly popped in my head and I can¡¯t help but shudder. ¡®Maybe next time it will be me who will die¡¡¯ I bit my lower lip and closed my eyes. ¡®Inhale¡exhale¡¡¯ I calmed and pushed these negative thoughts away. It¡¯s not like it will help me in anyway. Furthermore, I already decided to live and survive so that¡¯s exactly what I¡¯ll do ¨C survive. Nevertheless, even though survival is the priority, I¡¯m not yet in the state to disregard a request form someone near death or the hope of helping another person. After getting my priorities and thoughts straight I started to get ready to leave. I decided to just take few items with me and leave the bag with the kid. ¡°I¡¯ll leave the bag here¡ there are food and also water inside¡¡±I said as I left the bag beside him where he can access it easily. After a pause I noticed that he was already asleep so I left him silently. Before leaving I went and opened the lights of the classroom to make sure there is no other possible threat inside. Aside from the zombie impaled and the messy room, there seemed to be no problem. Assured,I locked the other door of the room. All rooms in this building were the same; each room has two sliding doors, one in front and one at the back. After making sure to lock the back door I left the room thru the front door. I also made sure to close the lights because it might attract unwanted attention to this place. Making sure everything is in order I closed the door tightly, not locking it since I do not have any keys. Satisfied with the arrangement I was able to remove some of my worries in regards to the kid¡¯s safety. Standing in front of the room with only the curtain pole in my hand I decided on what to do next. As I was thinking I unconsciously looked outside the window and saw that the sun was about to set. In less than 20 minutes the sun will surely be gone and darkness will plunge the whole school. Night, school and zombies¡ Ah! What a combination! I can¡¯t help but shiver as I imagined the outcome. I should hurry and check the library before then because I can¡¯t trust my courage if I can move around the school during the night. It will be safer to go back here and rest until morning. It¡¯s good thing that I have enough food and water to last me, the child and the old man if I found him for as long as tomorrow morning¡Somehow I hope that his grandpa is fine especially that I was also able to survive the chaos while I was inside the infirmary. If he was able to find a place to hide then the chances of survival will be high. However I can¡¯t also remove the possibility that he might have left the library. Pulling my thought back into the current issue, I looked at the pole in my hands and gave a heavy sigh. For a weapon this pole was too soft. It might even bend of I put pressure on it. The possibility of fighting can¡¯t be removed in the equation. Since I have not really explore the whole floor there are possible zombies lingering there. Even if they are not many there bound to be one or two. So with a weapon this shabby I can only sigh heavily. It¡¯s not like I can find something better. Thought it might be considered shabby, it was enough for me. In fighting I definitely can say that I am not the fighter type. With my current strength I can¡¯t even run fast! So if you imagine a weak girl using a weapon hitting the head of the zombie I can already guarantee that the zombie might not even sway a little. Furthermore I have no courage to fight zombies close combat. So with this pole I can use it not as a direct weapon but a support weapon to escape! Escape! Huhuhu¡ Did you think I will fight zombies head on? Not a chance! After checking the pole, I also pulled out the flash light from my pocket. Whatever will happen I made sure to bring it together with 4 bars of chocolate and small bottle of water. ¡®All set!¡¯ I thought and walk towards my classroom. I decided to first check my classroom and look for my phone before going back to the top floor. Since I was already here, I might as well go and follow my original plan. It¡¯s not like it will take a long time especially my classroom was the one following this room. Full of energy and determination I walked towards to next room. Chapter 4: Room 2 – 4E Chapter 4: Room 2 ¨C 4E I walked towards the next door and stopped as I looked silently with mixed feeling at the bold words at the door. 2 ¨C 4E, It means 2nd year, 4th floor class E. It was just one of the many classes for 2nd years. The academy was really big, it is divided by 3 Division: the elementary division, the junior or middle division and lastly the high school division. For the high school division, there are 3 building. The 1st building was the main and where the 1st year students are located. The 2nd building or what was know as the Left Wing was the building that I am currently in and where the 2nd years are located. Lastly, the 3rd building or Right Wing was were the 3rd year senors are located. Connecting the main building and the others was the center garden. As I reached my hands to open the door, I hesitated. I have already prepared myself of the possible things that I will see beyond the closed door however I was still scared and restless. Beyond this door was my classroom. Most of my classmates were those I have been with since my first year and even some where my friends since middle school. I was unable to calm myself when I imagine the possibility of what might have happened to them from the chaos. From how the other previous classrooms looked like when I checked them ,I can''t help but feel very uncomfortable. For a moment I thought of not going in the room to spare myself of the grief of seeing any of those familiar face dead, but I immediately threw this thought when I remembered that I have to get my phone in order to get in touch with my family. ''Come on Fie! You can do it! Ah! '' I scolded myself. After a moment more of hesitation, I gritted my teeth and decided to go into the room. Before I tried to open the door, I first peek inside the room from the glass panel which allows anyone to see inside the classroom. On each door of all classrooms there is a glass panels which helps in monitoring the class inside. Unfortunately, since both door was closed the visibility was low because of the lack of light. It also did not help that the curtain in the room was drawn so no light can pass through. ''Why is it so dark inside?'' I was confused at this but brushed the thoughts aside and thought for a while before I slowly listen to check if there are any sound of movement inside however it was completely quiet just like the whole place. Discovering that there was no movement inside, my courage increased so I reach my hand to open the door. I decided to open the door as slowly as I can to make sure not to alert any creature that might be inside the room. I was still cautious because I was not entirely sure that there was nothing inside despite not hearing anything inside . ''Eh?'' I can''t help but exclaim when the door did not open. Confused, I tried to open it again. ¡°Is it locked?¡± I whispered as I tried one more time with more force. However I was still unable to open the door. I paused for a moment before I went to try the other door. However It was also locked. With a knitted brows I peeked at the glass panel but to my surprise I saw something blocking my vision. It seems like I was seeing a part of a chair. ''Could they have blocked the door with pile of chairs?'' I became excited with this thought. If that was the case, there was a high possibility that my classmates are alive. With excitement and hope I paused and thought. ¡°Aya?¡± I softly called out. ¡°It me Fei... are you there?¡± I waited for someone to answer but I was disappointed when I heard no sounds from inside. I tried a few more times but it as also futile since there was no responses from the other side. ''Did they leave?'' I thought because if there was anyone of my classmates in the room they will surely answer. Looking at the situation, they seemed to have barricaded both doors. ''Did they... go through the window, Ah!?'' Thought I was unable to seem more because the glass panel on the door was to small to check more details I was able to deduce some possible scenario. As I thought about them using the window to leave the room I was greatly shocked so I hurriedly went back to the room where I meet the kid. In consideration of the sleeping child and to avoid catching unwanted attention, I soundlessly went back despite the urgency to conform my thoughts. As I opened the window nearest to the window in my classroom, I was met by the cold wind which made me shiver. I unconsciously looked at the view in front of me. It was the same as what I saw at the infirmary. Scattered on the vast garden where students usually stay to enjoy their past time were numerous undead creatures.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website. Gloominess again took over my mood. Shaking my head, I tried to remove the gloomy thoughts on my mind. Going back on track, I tried to look out from the window and check the other side. Unfortunately, I was unable to see anything. It seems like I have to stuck my body out of the window to see it properly. Good thing that I was not that scared of heights. ''Heights... Kara...'' I suddenly remembered Kara, one of my good friend and a classmate who was afraid of heights. Balancing my body on the windowsill I tried again. ¡°They really used the window! Ah!¡±I exclaimed as I saw a dangling curtain from the inside of the room going all the way down. It seems to have stopped at the window on the 3rd floor. I was stumped at this thought. How were they able to use the curtain. More importantly, where did the curtain come from? When I checked the room from the glass panel, I noticed that the room was dark because the curtains where still present. It seems like they did not use the classroom curtains. As questions whirl in my head, I noticed there was a gap at the edge of the building. It was enough to allow someone to walk from this window to the other. ¡°...¡± I can''t help but laugh at the sudden thought that crossed my mind and unconsciously stepped back from the window. Unbelievable, how could I ever thought of doing something like that. However the voice in my head seemed to whisper of what i have to do on the other hand I can''t help but think the impossibly of doing it, not only was it dangerous but something that seemed hopeless. It took me a some time of indecision before I walked towards the nearest chair and dragged it besides the window. With effort I climbed on the window. Thought I''m not scared of heights, I can''t help but gulp as I look down. That''s right! I plan to walk on the concrete gap outside the window to go the the other room. ... I can''t help but cry internally as I walked. My back touching the cold wall was a comforting sensation for me because it clears my mind especially I was concentrating not to look down but straight ahead. ''Its too cold! Ah!'' , wearing a short skirt was not helping my situation as well. Time seems to slow down as I cross to the other side. Fortunately, I was able to safely arrived my destination. Holding the windowsill of the room, I peeked inside before I went in. With a relief sigh I felt that my beating heart settled down as my feet touched the floor inside the room, however I still did not let my guard down as I looked around the room with narrowed eyes. After I guaranteed that there seems to be no abnormality, I walked silently towards the door and turned on the light for the room. As Light flooded the whole room, I was able to clearly see the detail which I was unable to see awhile ago. Relief and disappointment, this was what I felt as I looked at the scene in front of me. Relief because I did not see any corpse of any of my classmates despite the disordered room. Disappointment because there was no one I know. They really all left the classroom. My mind wondered as I thought about how the others where. For them to leave the room which seems to be very safe and venture outside where there were many zombies was really puzzling. Sighing, I pulled my thoughts back and started to look around for my bag. Almost all of the chairs were used to barricade both doors. So only few chairs were scattered around the room. Bags, books and many things were also littered around making that whole room in a chaotic state. As I was looking for my bag, I noticed most of the things left were things that are not needed. All the bags were empty or only had books or notes left. They might have taken everything that can help them when they left the classroom. '' I hope they did not take anything on my bag.'' I thought. I do have some snacks in my bag. It took me awhile to finally find my bag. Unfortunately, it seems like it was not spared by the others as well. All the snacks was taken, they also emptied my bag just to be sure they took everything they can use. Thought I was unhappy, I did understand why they did it. I just really hope they did not take my phone with them. After checking my bag for a while, I helplessly slump down the floor. '' They really didn''t leave my phone!'' I cried. They might not be able to use the phone because I have it password protected but they still can use the battery on it. Besides, Aya my best friend and classmate knows my phone password so they can still use it. The last option for me to contact my family disappeared. Thought I can try looking for other phones from the bags that was left from the other classrooms, there was no guarantee that I will be able to use it since most students have password locks on their phone. So what use it is to look for other phones if I can''t use it? Even if there is 1% chance of being able to use any of the phones it was not realistic to look each classrooms and try my luck. Faculty room. This got me to see another option. This was another place I can go to. Since there was low probability of using any of the student''s phones then using the land-line phones at the teachers faculty room was another possible way. I excitedly thought of my plans again. Since I was unable to get anything here, after going to the library to look for grandpa we''ll have to stay with the kid at the other room until the next day before going to the faculty room. Night was fast approaching I was not comfortable moving about during the night. *pak* The sudden sound made me froze on the spot. It sounded like something knocking on a wooden surface. I suddenly had a chill ran throughout my body. Biting my lips, I slowed my breathing as I tried not to move. I looked around the room as I strained my ears to listen to the sound. ''Where is it coming from? Ah!'' It took me a while to locate where the sound was coming from. Thought it was not that loud, it was enough to get my attention. The sound was actually not far from my location. ''The cleaning cabinet?'' I was shocked as I realized it was coming from the cleaning cabinet. It was located at the back part of the room where I was not very far from. Most of the cleaning tools were kept in this cabinet. It was not that big and definitely not even enough for one person to fit. With a frown, I went towards the cabinet carefully. The sound already stopped however I was already very sure that the it was coming from the cabinet. Thought hesitant and wary of what caused the sound, I still went and slowly opened the cabinet. What happened next was something I won''t forget even if I want to. The shock was really big that it froze me for a few minuets. A human, a person was tied inside the cabinet. He was blindfolded, both feet and hands tied so tightly that I can see that his hands where already bleeding. I can even see mark on his white cheeks. It seems he was roughed up by someone. There were big red blotches on his right cheek and throat. He had either fainted or he was knocked out. I can also see how unstable his breathing was. For someone to be locked inside the cabinet were air was thin will definitely kill anyone. ''Who could have done this?'' To treat someone like this was like trying to kill someone slowly. I shivered at the thought that a human, possibly a classmate did this. What was the world becoming? Chapter 5: Dale Vlashawn Chapter 5: Dale Vlashawn I once heard from my classmates conversation about how humans easily adopt to the changes of their surrounding. I''m not really knowledgeable but according to their conversation, Will a person who lived in a peaceful lifestyle adjust easily if their environment were change to a place were violence was like a part of everyday life? You might be thinking how very deep the conversation is right? Well, to tell you how this conversation came to be? It started about the novels that has been very popular throughout the school. Normal transmigration story, reincarnation or even apocalypse stories has many main characters that started with someone normal thrown to a new environment that was very different from the normal peaceful situations. Thought every story has its own unique style most of the characters easily adjusted to their environment. Some of my classmates argued that people will definitely change especially if someone was thrown in a world where strong survive and weak dies. It is a way for humans to survive. On the other hand, some of my friends said that those are just fiction and it is not easy to change and adapt in real life. I still remember that this conversation did not really move forward since everyone was not that very into the study of such things, we just relied on the stories we read or our own opinions so this conversation just naturally died and was forgotten. But now, looking at the sate of the person in front of me I can''t help but feel fear and confusion. How can someone not feel fear of killing a person. If I remember it correctly, since going to the infirmary to sleep from waking up to find the world descended to chaos, it was just been about more or less 4 hours. In that short amount of time, someone already did something like this. And the possibility that this someone was my classmate was quite high. I snapped out from my horrifying thoughts when I heard the person groan. ''His still alive! Ah!'' This thought was the only thing that at least made me sigh with relief. I hurriedly came beside the person. Looking at his bleeding hands I tried to free it first. However it seems it was tied very well that it was really hard to remove, it was also the same with his feet. I redirected my attention on his blindfolded eyes. I slowly removed the blindfold. '' So handsome! Ah!'' I was mesmerized. He had thick, straight black hair that fell over his ears and down the exquisite slope of his neck, his pale face just enhanced his handsome features. His frown did not even lessen his handsomeness but instead gave it a strong flavor of seriousness and manliness. I was dazed for a few seconds before I was struck but the knowledgeable that I don''t recognize this person. I looked in confusion at his face. Being so handsome, I would have definitely not forget him if he was a classmate. In my opinion, this kind of looks definitely doesn''t fall short to class representative''s handsomeness. I was confused and curious about the identity of this person. He might have been from a different class but if he was, how and why was he locked up here in our classroom cleaning cabinet. Shaking my head, I tried to stop my thoughts and decided to just ask the person later. The first thing was to help the poor guy. Removing the binding was the first and I need to help him out of the cabinet. I recall that I still have my sewing kit on my bag. Thankfully no one took it. I hurriedly took it from my bag at got my blade and cut the cloth used to bind the person''s feet and hands. He might have felt the binds was removed, maybe felt my presence or maybe just naturally woke up from unconsciousness exactly when I just finished removing the binding in his hands and Since I was leaning close to his body on this narrow place, I saw how his eyes slowly opened. With my position, our faces were so close to each other. So when I looked at him and he to me, I was swallowed by his dark bottomless eyes. It was as if his eyes was a black-hole that wanted to swallow me to nothingness. The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. ¡°AH!¡± Before I can even react, the sudden pain I felt woke me from my daze state. Everything happened so fast that I was unable to respond to his action. It was only when I found that I was already pinned down the floor by the throat that I realized how he pushed me down with force. Good thing that there were bunch of books and bags on the floor where I was forcefully pushed that cushioned my fall or I will have been heavily inured by the impact. I was about to shout instinctively when it died on my throat because of fear! The eyes looking at me was like a beast. So savage and vicious that I felt like if I uttered any sound, he will snap my neck without any remorse. I nearly passed out from fear! Ah! It was as if I was not looking at a person but was looking at death directly. How could a person be like this? Is it normal? Am I going to die? The hand on my neck seemed to tighten. The pain from suffocation was staring to make my mind muddled. Tears started to blur my eyes as well. Despite the slow haze that was eating my thoughts, I can''t help but find it funny that I was going to die by the hands of a human and not the zombies. ¡° Fei Hawthorne...¡± I already closed my eyes and thought I was already going to meet death when I was brought back by the hoarse voice that called my name. I sluggishly opened my eyes and met with that dark abyss like eyes. It took me a while to notice that he loosen his hold on my neck. Enough to let me take in a few deep breath of air. ¡° You are alive...¡± he whispered, Thought I was too occupied on breath to catch his words. Since the person slacken off his hold, my mind that was hazy because of lack of air started to become clearer. I realized that this person knows me. With wariness, I cleared my throat. ¡°Who are you?¡± Complicated emotions seemed to flash on this person''s black eyes as I asked him this question however it soon disappeared as fast as it appeared which made it like it never happened. Completely removing his hands on my neck, he sat near the opening of the cabinet. I struggled to sit from my position. The pain from being forcefully pinned on the floor and suffocation dealt a huge blow to my already weak constitution. Even thought I wanted to sit far away from him I was too tired so I just decided to sit an my current location. It was a good thing that he was sitting in front of me, so I was able to monitor his actions and the distance between us was enough to give me time to react if he will do anything. I looked at him as he seemed to look at his bloodstain wrist. ''Dangerous!'' This thought was floating on my mind as I feel the sudden increase of dangerous aura around him as he looked at his wrist. Could this be the legendary killing intent? I can''t help but think. ¡° You saved me...¡± His hoarse voice once again got my attention back to him. His eyes that was looking at his wrist looked at me. The dangerous feeling disappeared and what has been savage and vicious eyes became indifferent. ¡°Yes, I saved you but you attacked me¡±, Somehow I got a feeling that I was no longer in danger. It might have been this feeling that gave me courage to say what I have said. His lips tighten to a line. ¡°Self- defense...¡±, contrary to the apology that I thought he will say, this word was said with a strained voice. I can''t help but choke from what he said. However after remembering how he was all tied up and nearly died from suffocation inside the cleaning cabinet, I can''t help but frown and helplessly accept his word. Nevertheless, I had my guard up against him. This person was definitely someone dangerous. Thought he stopped and did not kill me, I knew that he had it in him to kill without regret. And this is what made me fear him. ¡°Who are you?¡± I said, driving the conversation to a better direction. At least this will sate my curiosity and also avoid the heavy talk about the ''self-defense'' word. If I recall it correctly, he did call my name awhile ago. This shows that this person knows me. Unfortunately, I was in disadvantage since I don''t remember seeing or even interacting with him. I can''t help but accept that I know most of the well-known handsome students in our division. Never underestimate teenage girls. Most of my friends or even other girls in different class are always updated with those who are the most handsome and popular in school. We even have a school ranking of who were the most handsome guys for the whole high school division. This ranking was handled by the famous school club ''Most Handsome Club''. The ranking was done by the club every 3 months and they also have a section dedicated for them in the school newspaper. This guy has his own charm but he was definitely someone handsome that can be on par with class representative who was crowned as the ''cold face prince''. But it seems he has been out of our radar since if he was known he will be somewhere in the top 10 of our school ranking. It''s really amazing to know someone slipped from the scrutiny of the ''Most Handsome Club''. My mind drifted, once again. Ah! ¡°I''m sorry... I didn''t hear that. What did you say?¡± His brows frowned as I tried to keep my face neutral and not to annoy him for not listening. ¡° Dale Vlashawn...¡± He said once again. My mind blanked out as I hear what he said. ¡°I''m sorry... but your joking right?¡± I said as I can''t help but laugh softly. I suddenly felt that the temperature seemed to drop several degrees, it made me stop my laugh and shiver uncontrollably. ''It can''t be! No way!'' I screamed in my mind, however outside I can''t help but just look and gape at him from shock. As I was still in a state of shock. He seemed to know how unbelievable for me to accept what he said. So with an irritated look, he seemed to take something from within the cabinet. At first, I was confused what he took but as I saw what he had on his hand, I got a feeling that something unbelievable will happen. Eyeglasses. When he wore the eyeglasses, I nearly passed out from shock. ''Hey! Your playing with me, aren''t you?'' It was as if someone cast a transformation magic on him. By just wearing the eyeglasses, his eyeglasses, I definitely know who he is! Ah! ¡° Dale Vlashawn!!!¡± Can someone tell me? Please tell me! How can someone change so much from just wearing eyeglasses? I''m not really biased, but from the handsome guy with cold and vicious aura he change to someone plain without any presence. If it is not magic, then what can you call this drastic changes?
