《Star War》 Chapter 1 ¡°Defense, Karis! Hold your ground!¡± instructed Adala Sati as she watched her padawan jab at her opponent with her saber. Karis Par, ignoring her master, swung her lightsaber down and started inching it closer towards her opponent Lada Taul¡¯s face. Adala could see her gritting her teeth. ¡°Karis, this is a defensive exercise. You need to practice both offense and defense,¡± said Adala, tsking her tongue. Karis turned around. ¡°But Master, the best defense is a good offense,¡± she whined. Adala sighed. Arguing with Karis was the same as trying to convince someone the color yellow doesn¡¯t exist. ¡°Jedi are peacekeepers. We don¡¯t need to be offensive all the time. Isn¡¯t that right, Lada?¡± asked Adala, looking at her fellow knight Vori Yara¡¯s padawan. Lada shyly pushed Karis¡¯s training sabre away. ¡°Balance. Jedi are balanced,¡± said Lada, awaiting praise from Adala. Karis narrowed her eyes. ¡°Defense is for the weak that can¡¯t keep up with the fight,¡± Karissaid bluntly. Adala cocked her head. ¡°I would have thought you were one to learn from experience,¡± said Adala, holding her head up high. Karis glared at her. Perhaps Adalatook it too far. Shehad to get the point across though. Adala sighed. Having suffered an almost lethal lightsaber injury, Karis wasn¡¯t picking up as quickly since her recovery. Lack of effort and embarrassment from being grouped with the younger padawans held her back, and it was taking a toll on her training. ¡°Begin sparring,¡± said Adala, halfheartedly. She watched as Karis lunged at the young Mirialan, knocking her off guard. She held her sabre over her head and smashed it down, but was blocked by Lada¡¯s horizontally positioned sabre. Lada pushed her off and stood back up, poised in a bird like position. She quickly maneuvered herself around Karis and struck her from behind, but was blocked but Karis¡¯s quick reflexes. Lada threw swing after swing at Karis as Karis hastily backed up, but soon ran out of room. She attempted to counter swing, but Lada was slowly besting her. The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement. ¡°You¡¯ve been training for two years more and you still can¡¯t fight defensively?¡± asked Lada in an innocent manner. Karis felt adrenaline surge through her as she raised her arm. ¡°I¡¯ll show you defense,¡± she gritted as Lada began to freeze. ¡°Karis no!¡± yelled Adala, rushing over. Lada¡¯s face began to pucker. ¡°Let her down.¡± Karis sighed angrily. She held on to her force hold for a few seconds before releasing Lada back onto the ground. ¡°Class dismissed,¡± said Adala hastily as she rushed Lada out of the training room. ¡°What was that?¡± Karis hung her head. ¡°You¡¯re letting your emotions guide your actions. You cannot let them take control,¡± reprimanded Adala. ¡°Lada never-¡± ¡°Why don¡¯t you make Lada a jedi knight?¡± said Karis sarcastically. Adala placed her hands on her hips. ¡°I¡¯m not here to train Lada. I¡¯m here to train you. Because I see potential in you. But unless you can take control of your feelings, you won¡¯t become a Jedi.¡± said Adala. Karis glared at her. ¡°You always say the same thing. You never mean it,¡± said Karis angrily. ¡°If I didn¡¯t mean it, you would be back on Earth right now,¡± Adala sighed. She knew she wasn¡¯t making much progress with Karis. The girl had seen too much of the Dark Side at a young age, and she was at a high risk of being taken over. However Adala believed that Karis was the Chosen One. Her midichlorian levels were off the chart. Just kidding. Those prophecies never actually worked. But Karis did have power, although it would take a lot of work for her to channel it correctly. Chapter 2 ¡°Adala, Karis, come on, we have to go out by the border,¡± said Sel Tei, a Togruta jedi. Adala placed her fingers so each one touched each other. ¡°What did they do this time?¡± she said, exasperated. ¡°Well, the Suzerainty crossed over the line we drew in the sand and started trying to sell goods without vendors¡¯ licences,¡± said Sel. ¡°That¡¯s terrible!¡± Adala cried out. Karis, still brooding next to her, was silent. ¡°Let¡¯s go quickly before they actually sell something,¡± said Sel. ¡°I hate doing paperwork.¡± The three of them headed out of the temple and down to the sand valley. Sharing the planet was one of the minor outposts of the Suzerainty. Four days ago, a treaty was established, drawing a giant circle around the Suzerainty base to keep them in. Unfortunately, none of them really respected the borders drawn. Several Suzerainty citizens were bottling up the sand and putting price tags on the bottles. ¡°Hey! That¡¯s our sand!¡± cried out Sel, marching over to the citizens. ¡°Um, it¡¯s anyone''s sand,¡± said the first one, putting a handful in his mouth. ¡°I¡¯ll give you a free sample.¡± Karis cringed. ¡°I don¡¯t like sand, it¡¯s coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere,¡± she complained. This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. ¡°Due to legislative law number 3 that state-¡± started Adala before three of the citizens pulled out their guns. ¡°Okay I¡¯m done with waiting around,¡± said Sel. He pulled out his lightsaber. Eight more citizens pulled out their guns. ¡°FIRE!¡± yelled the first one. Soon, the three jedi were pelted in a constant flow of blaster fire. Karis shot a laser back at one of the citizens and hit her straight in the chest. She looked at her master for approval, but saw her appalled face. ¡°Karis! You injured her!¡± she said, disappointed in Karis. Karis¡¯s shoulders drooped. There was no way she could ever please her master. Karis wasn¡¯t ready to give up. Maybe if she could show how her fighting skills improved, Adala would praise her. As one of the citizens shot a laser at her, she forced it aside and then sliced the gun out of his hands. The terror in his eyes fueled Karis, as she moved in for the winning strike. ¡°KARIS!¡± yelled Adala as she force froze Karis, moments before Karis would slice the citizen. ¡°We are on a peace mission! We want the least amount of casualties!¡± Karis just stared at Adala, stunned that her master hadn¡¯t even commented on the style of fighting she had exhibited. She turned away and began deflecting shots again. ¡°Okay I think we¡¯re pushing them back,¡± said Sel. He walked over to one of the citizens and shoved him over the border. Adala and Karis removed the rest of them. One of the citizens wasn¡¯t moving, so Sel force pushed him backwards until he crossed the border. He hissed at him and the border in the sand. ¡°You¡¯ll pay for this. You¡¯ll all pay. In cash. Cash from the sand I will sell!¡± he yelled at them. All three jedi sighed. Why couldn¡¯t the Suzerainty just sell their own sand? Chapter 3 ¡°I¡¯m worried about Karis,¡± said Adala. Master Turi looked at her. ¡°Fear, I sense,¡± she said softly. ¡°A disturbance in the force, there has been.¡± Adala smacked her forehead. ¡°First off, that speech think you do is annoying. You¡¯ve been speaking English for over 800 years, get it right. Second, must you always speak in riddles master?¡± asked Adala. Master Turi folded her hands. ¡°Riddles, I not speak in,¡± she said. ¡°Pronoun game, I play.¡±Love this story? Find the genuine version on the author''s preferred platform and support their work! ¡°Just great,¡± groaned Adala. ¡°Not needed, sass is,¡± said Master Turi. Adala stepped up. ¡°But that aside, why are we going through this again? It¡¯s like every 5 seconds you feel a disturbance. The force is a constantly changing entity! Doesn¡¯t it make sense that there would be a disturbance?¡± ¡°Different, this disturbance feels. Worse. Possibly indigestion,¡± said Turi. Adala rolled her eyes. ¡°But Master, what should I do with the girl?¡± said Adala. ¡°If train her, you cannot, then failure, you are,¡± said Turi. Adala looked at herself in shame. It was her that failed as a mentor. Chapter 4 ¡°Master Turi said she found another disturbance in the force,¡± said Adala to Lada¡¯s master Vori as they walked down the hallway. Vori paused. ¡°I¡¯ve noticed a slight disturbance as well,¡± said Vori. ¡°I feel the presence of the Sith is stronger here.¡± ¡°Sith? Then why didn¡¯t you tell anyone?!¡± said Adala. Vori looked confused. ¡°Well, I was going to, but then I ate a chocolate muffin and the feeling went away.¡± ¡°Master, is there a Sith around here?¡± asked Lada, worried. Vori laughed. ¡°That¡¯d be wild!¡± she said, while giving Adala a concerned look. ¡°Master Vori! I need to speak with you! It¡¯s urgent!¡± yelled Lada as she sprinted towards the duo. She started panting as she reached them, completely out of breath. ¡°You¡¯ve gone out of shape,¡± criticized Vori. ¡°I¡¯ll need to add more endurance training into your plan. You cannot run out of energy.¡± ¡°Master *gasp* I need to *gasp* talk to you,¡± huffed Lada. ¡°Lada, we¡¯re very busy right now. Can¡¯t you see I¡¯m talking with Master Adala?¡± she asked. Lada looked at her, beads of sweat dripping down her green skin. ¡°Lada, go find Karis and practice using the force push,¡± said Adala, trying to get Lada out of the way. Lada sighed, then hurried off to find her fellow padawan. ¡°There¡¯s something definitely wrong here,¡± said Vori. ¡°I can feel it.¡± Adala sat down. ¡°I¡¯m not sure what we do now. I already talked to Turi about Karis and disturbances, she agrees that they¡¯ve been happening lately,¡± said Adala. Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings. ¡°So theoretically if there were a Sith here, what would we do about it,¡± said Vori. ¡°Huh. I hadn¡¯t thought about that. We¡¯d probably all get slaughtered within 3 minutes of trying to fight,¡± said Adala. Vori felt her belt. ¡°Oh crud, I left my lightsaber with Lada,¡± she groaned. She and Adala walked towards the training room. ¡°We don¡¯t have much training against Sith in general,¡± said Vori. ¡°I don¡¯t think any of us would stand a chance. How did we even get to be Jedi Masters in the first place?¡± Vori peered into the room. The lights were off. Adala took a step. ¡°LADA!¡± yelled Vori, running towards a heap on the floor. ¡°She¡¯s gone,¡± said Lada, with great pain. Vori searched Lada in the dark for wounds and found the remnants of two fingers, the wound cauterized. ¡°Lightsaber wound,¡± said Vori, narrowing her eyes. ¡°They blew the lights out too.¡± ¡°Darn, I spent three hours replacing them all,¡± said Adala, annoyed. ¡°I¡¯m not sensing a disturbance,¡± said Vori. ¡°Whoever came here is gone now.¡± ¡°And so is Karis. We have to go find her,¡± said Adala. ¡°What about Lada?¡± asked Vori. ¡°We can¡¯t just leave her here.¡± ¡°Lada¡¯s fine, she¡¯s only missing two fingers. And perhaps some bruising. We need to move fast to find Karis before they take her too far,¡± said Adala. ¡°Don¡¯t you see? This is our opportunity to find out where the Sith lair is.¡± ¡°Oh, so losing two fingers is fine, huh? Do you only think about yourself? Our Padawans are in danger! I agree that we should find their lair, but recovering the padawans is our top priority at this point,¡± Vori replied. ¡°Two fingers is nothing. Karis got stabbed by a lightsaber,¡± said Adala. ¡°And she lived through it.¡± ¡°It¡¯s not a competition of whose padawan is worse at fighting, Adala,¡± said Vori. Adala¡¯s face flushed red. ¡°Ok, so what do we do now?¡± she asked. ¡°Obviously, well, we can take an X Wing down to go track them,¡± said Vori. ¡°Help,¡± said Lada but neither of the jedi heard it. ¡°I¡¯ll leave a hologram in case we don¡¯t return. Lada, only open this if we¡¯re not back in 10 days,¡± said Vori, tossing Lada a hologram message. Chapter 5 Once they were on the ship, Adala couldn¡¯t help but worry about Karis. ¡°Vori, do you think the Sith worked alone?¡± asked Adala. Vori pondered for a moment. ¡°No. Like Master Turi says, there¡¯s always 2 Sith,¡± said Vori. ¡°I think I locked on to their signature.¡± Adala looked off at the room of the ship. In silence. ¡°It¡¯s been three years now, hasn¡¯t it?¡± said Adala. Vori was silent. ¡°Do you ever think¡.¡± started Adala, but she held it back. Vori didn¡¯t want to talk. Suddenly, she felt a jolt in her leg. ¡°What the¡¡± she said before two blue head tails appeared. ¡°Tama! What are you doing here?¡± asked Vori, surprised. Tama Kapp was just recently crowned the rank of jedi. ¡°Master Turi sensed you guys leaving and sent me here to spy on you,¡± she said proudly. Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation. ¡°Typical newbie, always doing the Master¡¯s work,¡± said Adala. ¡°Hey! She¡¯d give you more bonuses if you actually respected her. Master Turi is one of the best jedi to ever be alive!¡± said Tama. ¡°I¡¯m honored every time I¡¯m in her presence!¡± ¡°Okay, let me get one thing straight: we¡¯re on an urgent mission. We can¡¯t be babysitting you, okay? This isn¡¯t a game, Tama,¡± said Vori. Tama pouted. ¡°I¡¯m under direct orders from Master Turi,¡± she said. ¡°I won¡¯t let you do anything suspicious.¡± ¡°Tama, you have to listen to us. We need you to cooperate on this mission now that you¡¯re here,¡± said Adala. ¡°I won¡¯t disobey Master Turi,¡± said Tama, smugly. ¡°Forget Master Turi already! Master Turi does nothing all day! She just sits and ¡®senses¡¯ disturbances and oversees the jedi temple. Okay? She¡¯s not as good as you make her out to be,¡± said Vori, getting slightly frustrated. ¡°I am appalled! I will have to report this to Master Turi,¡± said Tama, shocked. Adala and Vori rolled their eyes. ¡°You don¡¯t know anything about a stealth mission, do you? All communications have been blocked for the next week since we¡¯re incognito. That means you can¡¯t contact anyone until we¡¯re off our mission,¡± said Adala. Tama¡¯s head tails drooped. ¡°So will you help us or not,¡± said Vori quietly. Tama sat in silence for 5 minutes. ¡°Fine,¡± she sighed. All three of them sat in silence. Chapter 6 ¡°Holy jedis that ship is big!¡± said Tama, looking at the giant ship in front of her. ¡°We¡¯re going on a full scale stealth assault, so remember: only use lightsabers when you absolutely need to,¡± warned Adala. Tama pulled out her lightsaber. ¡°Tama, please,¡± sighed Vori. Tama put her lightsaber back in her belt. ¡°Okay here¡¯s the plan. We just walk around and make sure there¡¯s a garbage chute within 15 feet otherwise we don¡¯t go that direction, k?¡± said Adala. She docked the ship in one of the upper hatches. ¡°They won¡¯t find the ship here unless they are really looking for something to be on the roof of their ship,¡± said Adala. She dropped down into the Sith ship. Vori had a pained look on her face. ¡°Hey, it¡¯s going to be okay,¡± said Adala, but somehow her words seemed hollow. ¡°Hey, I just force-choked three Super TroopersTM, want to steal their clothes?¡± asked Tama. ¡°What happened to you?¡± Vori asked. ¡°Weren¡¯t you supposed to be the serious character?¡± ¡°No! You¡¯re the serious character!¡± Tama laughed. ¡°Besides, they¡¯re actually called Super TroopersTM¡¡± ¡°I¡¯m the serious character?¡± Vori whispered. ¡°I¡ I never imagined that I would be the serious character¡ You will now pretend that I never did anything funny in this story,¡± she said to the audience, using her jedi mind tricks. ¡°It¡¯s not like you¡¯re funny anyway,¡± Adala countered. ¡°Also, whatever is writing our lives is clearly lazy, since they¡¯re not going to delete your previous lines.¡± Vori stared at her in silence. She could feel a presence. ¡°Adala, she¡¯s here,¡± said Vori softly. Tama looked at Vori, confused. ¡°Who? You guys keep acting like there¡¯s a secret being kept from me that will be used as a plot point in a few pages,¡± said Tama. Adala shushed her. ¡°Okay, just stay calm. We can¡¯t know that for sure,¡± said Adala. Vori shook her head. ¡°Let¡¯s find Karis,¡± she said, putting on the Super Trooper? hat. ¡°My lekku won¡¯t fit,¡± complained Tama. ¡°They¡¯re too big.¡± ¡°So cut them off,¡± said Adala. Tama stared at her in horror. ¡°I¡¯m kidding, Tama,¡± said Adala, but Tama still gave her a suspicious look. ¡°You humans always assume every part that you don¡¯t have on your own bodies isn¡¯t vital to our survival,¡± grumbled Tama. If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. ¡°Excuse me,¡± Vori politely interjected, ¡°But I¡¯m not a human.¡± ¡°Sorry. Human and green human with facial tattoos,¡± said Tama, shoving her head tails down the back of her Super Trooper? chestplate. ¡°Okay, let¡¯s split up. That seems to work,¡± said Adala. ¡°I¡¯ll go left, Vori will go right, and Tama, you go up the air duct.¡± ¡°Why do I have to go up the air duct?¡± Tama complained. ¡°Jedi aren¡¯t supposed to complain,¡± Adala chastised her, then smiled at using such a fancy-sounding word to describe her actions. ¡°Okay, let¡¯s meet back here after two hours. Make sure you¡¯re not late.¡± Adala headed down the hallway in search of Karis. Many of the hallways appeared to be abandoned. Two Super Troopers? walked past her as she nodded her head. ¡°Didn¡¯t suspect a thing,¡± she smirked. She then found a convenient map leading to Luke Skywalker-oops wrong story. She continued down the hallway. ¡°And then I was totally like, you legit banged your head on the door panel,¡± said one of the Super TroopersTM. ¡°Hah, remember ¡®TRAITOR¡¯?¡± said the other one. The two laughed. Adala smiled. They were idiots. ¡°You will take me to Karis,¡± said Adala, force-controlling them. ¡°We will take you to Karis,¡± they replied. ¡°Ha! That was too easy!¡± she grinned, taking a selfie as she followed the guards down the hallway. ¡°Wait a sec!¡± one guard said, causing the whole group to stop. ¡°What?¡± Adala snapped. ¡°Who¡¯s Karis?¡± At that moment, Master Turi felt another disturbance in the force, but this one was different. It was a disturbance of pure female rage. ¡°The whiny obnoxious child!¡± yelled Adala in frustration. ¡°About yeigh high, human, female, overflowing with teenage emo angst that could rival that of book 5 Harry Potter.¡± ¡°Oooh, that one. We have about three stashed up in a closet right now, but I know which one you¡¯re talking about,¡± said one of the Super Troopers.? ¡°Now we¡¯re getting somewhere!¡± Adala exclaimed. ¡°But wait, why are they in the closet?¡± ¡°Because the living conditions on this ship are terrible!¡± the Super TrooperTM complained. ¡°How horrible!¡± Adala yelled. ¡°Finally, someone feels sorry for us!¡± the Super TroopersTM declared. ¡°I can¡¯t believe this no-chip nail polish didn¡¯t work! I spent 30 Altarian dollars on it!¡± she groaned in frustration. ¡°Aw, come on!¡± the Super TroopersTMyelled. The Super TroopersTM lead Adala down a long winding corridor; Adala tried to remember which way she came from, but couldn¡¯t keep up with her surroundings. It was as if someone had used the same backdrop for every hallway to save on production costs. Seriously, none of them had one distinguishing unique feature. ¡°It¡¯s in here,¡± said the Super TrooperTM opening the door. ¡°Wait, never mind, that¡¯s the broom closet. It¡¯s this one,¡± he said, opening the next door to reveal three young padawans. Adala took her Super TrooperTM helmet off. ¡°Karis!¡± Adala cried out. Karis, eyes glazed over, didn¡¯t respond. Adala yanked her from the closet. ¡°She¡¯s force-frozen,¡± said Adala, examining her. ¡°But who could hold a force freeze for this long?¡± ¡°Me,¡± said a voice behind her. Chapter 7 Adala turned around. A cloaked figure stepped out from a conveniently shadowed place into the light. Wearing full black robes with a cape and mask, he looked menacing. ¡°And you would be?¡± asked Adala, calmly, when inside she was one thread away from unraveling. The masked figure tilted his head to face her. ¡°You wouldn¡¯t dare question The Suzerainty,¡± he said in a deep demanding voice. ¡°Oh sh*t,¡± said one of the Super TroopersTM, censoring himself since he wasn¡¯t sure if this is PG or PG-13. ¡°You will attack the cloaked figure,¡± ordered Adala. The Super TroopersTM raised their guns. The figure put his hand up. ¡°You will do no such thing,¡± he said. The Super TroopersTM looked around and shrugged. ¡°What do we do?¡± asked one of the Super TroopersTM. ¡°I dunno,¡± said the other Super TrooperTM in his best Ron Weasley imitation. ¡°Attack!¡± ordered Adala, pointing at cloak guy. The Super TroopersTM ran towards him as he shot them backwards with a force push. The Super TroopersTM hit their heads on the top of the doorway and passed out. Adala drew her lightsaber. ¡°You never answered my question,¡± she growled, slicing at him. He pulled out a red lightsaber right before it would have hit him in the chest. ¡°Get off my ship,¡± he said angrily, forcing her backwards. ¡°Never! My OTP will not fall to the likes of you!¡± Adala shrieked. ¡°..... What,¡± the man replied, confused. Adala used this as an opportunity to strike. With his confusion, she jedi flipped over to face him from behind. She stabbed at him like a fencing sword, but somehow he always seemed to be one step ahead of her. The man counterstroke her with three swipes and a force push, sending her to the ground. Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site. ¡°The name¡¯s Darth Burai. Don¡¯t you forget it,¡± he said, moving in for the kill. Adala¡¯s face was lit with fear. ¡°Karis,¡± yelled Adala, looking at her padawan, recovering from being force-frozen for so long. Karis watched as Adala, in a helpless floor position was about to be killed by the Sith. ¡°Help,¡± whispered Adala as she fought back with her remaining strength. Karis looked her straight in the eyes. ¡°I see the roles are reversed,¡± she said, before turning away from her. Adala looked Darth Burai, her lightsaber holding back his from her neck. She screamed as it burned away at the skin. Not having much of a choice, Adala summoned all she could and brought her knees to her chest and kicked him in the face, sending his mask flying off and his nose into a bloody mess. She flailed her lightsaber to push him back, and sliced his hand off from the wrist. Taken aback, he stumbled and landed on his bottom, touching his nose to his remaining hand. Adala rushed over with her lightsaber and put it up to his neck, while her foot trapped his chest on the ground. ¡°The name¡¯s Adala Sati. Fear me,¡± she said, holding her lightsaber steady. As she looked him in the eyes, she saw fear in the purest form. His eyes were glossed with knowing the fate of his life lay in whether she would slice his head off his neck. Adala paused. This wasn¡¯t the jedi thing to do. She was a jedi knight. Jedi weren¡¯t supposed to kill without a cause. Yes, he attacked her and put her in danger, but she had clearly bested him. ¡°Do it,¡± said Karis, glaring at her. Adala looked at Karis. ¡°He kidnapped me. That¡¯s an offense,¡± said Karis, moving next to him. Adala stared at Darth Burai. She sensed a strange feeling from him, a warm glow emanating from underneath his frozen exterior. She couldn¡¯t bring herself to kill him. ¡°If you¡¯re not going to do it, I will,¡± said Karis, turning her lightsaber on. Adala felt adrenaline pumping through her. ¡°No!¡± she yelled as she struck Karis¡¯ lightsaber with her own. Hatred filled Karis¡¯ eyes. ¡°I¡¯m beginning to wonder where your loyalties lie,¡± she growled, pushing off Adala¡¯s saber with her own. ¡°I¡¯ve improved since the last incident.¡± ¡°Karis, please,¡± pleaded Adala, avoiding going offensively on Karis. Sometimes history wasn¡¯t worth repeating. ¡°He¡¯s a Sith, Master. A SITH!¡± Karis yelled, tears streaming from her face. Adala clenched her jaw as she realized Karis was gaining her power from using the Dark Side. ¡°I¡¯m sorry, Karis,¡± she said, with a tear falling off her cheek. Karis¡¯ face went blank as she stared down at her chest. ¡°So it happened again,¡± she said, full of hatred before she more or less collapsed. Adala removed her lightsaber from Karis. She scooped her off the ground and began to sprint away from Darth Burai, who was lying in an agonizing heap on the floor. She made way for the meet point, not looking down, for Karis was staring up at her with an expression of malcontent. Chapter 8 Vori walked down the hallway and watched as some Super TroopersTM were walking into an area requiring high security passcodes. ¡°You will escort me into the room,¡± said Vori to one of the Super TroopersTM. He nodded his head as he typed in the passcode. Vori smiled. Of course Karis would be kept behind security. Thousands of flashing consoles lined the walls, all armed with Super TroopersTM . Vori adjusted her helmet a little to remind herself that she was dressed like a Super TrooperTM . ¡°Where is the young padawan girl?¡± Vori asked the Super TrooperTM. The Super Trooper? looked at her confused for a moment, but then looked normal. ¡°Right this way,¡± said the Super Trooper?. He lead Vori deeper into the console room to a conference room and sat her down at the table. ¡°She¡¯ll be here shortly,¡± said the Super TrooperTM. ¡°The meeting¡¯s at 5 o¡¯clock, but I guess it¡¯s 5 o¡¯clock somewhere.¡± Vori looked at him confused as he exited. ¡°This is a weird place to be keeping Karis,¡± she muttered. Suddenly, a whole bunch of Super TroopersTM flooded the room. Vori looked around, shocked. They took seats surrounding Vori and sat in silence. After about three minutes, they all stood up and put their hand on their heads as if they were saluting, Vori copied them. ¡°You may sit,¡± said a nautolan woman, walking in. ¡°Yes, General Var,¡± said one of the Super TroopersTM. Everyone sat down. ¡°This month¡¯s profit was distasteful! Do any of you know how much money it takes to keep this ship up and running? We NEED to tax our subjects more,¡± said General Var, pacing back in forth in front of the table. ¡°I say we place a space tax. Based on how much space you take up, you get taxed. Bigger humanoids have larger taxes to pay,¡± said General Var. One of the Super TroopersTM snickered. General Var narrowed her eyes. ¡°Is there a problem?¡± she said menacingly. ¡°So what you¡¯re proposing is a¡.Fat Tax?¡± he said, trying not to crack up. His friend high fived him and General Var facepalmed with her head tails. ¡°It¡¯s a Mass Tax. The amount of space you take up you get taxed for,¡± she said, trying to put it in simplest terms. ¡°Oh come on. We already get taxed for every stupid thing. Hell, there¡¯s even a breathing tax!¡± exclaimed Vori, not able to control herself. All eyes turned on her. Well, I guess this is PG-13 then, she thought. Ah, everyone¡¯s old enough here anyway. ¡°Well how else are we to stop people from illegally stealing our air supply!¡± exclaimed General Var. Nods of approval went around the table. ¡°Speaking of breathing tax, we should start adding a multiplier by how much oxygen is being consumed. Since my race only needs 14% oxygen, our multiplier is set to x1.14, whereas humans use 21% oxygen, so the¨ªr multiplier should be set to 1.21 for every molecule consumed.¡± A round of applause shook the room. Vori rolled her eyes behind her mask, unconvinced that their science was accurate. If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. ¡°So in addition, a third tax will be placed on biohazardous epidermal flakes,¡± started General Var. ¡°Many races apart from my own replace their epidermal layer every 2 weeks. Now while this process is happening, many of them shed their biohazards into our air supply, causing tens of Nautolans a year to die from their particles sticking to the insides of our lungs. Now if we were to tax this, it would encourage humanoids not to let their disgusting flakes pollute our air supply.¡± The door burst open. ¡°Sorry I¡¯m late I just-¡± started the Togruta girl before stopping. General Var walked close to her. ¡°What¡¯s wrong,¡± she whispered. The girl made a face. Vori¡¯s heart skipped a beat. ¡°I-I¡¯m not sure,¡± she said. ¡°Take a seat, Leeta,¡± said General Var. Leeta sat down across from Vori, who refused to make eye contact. She was in too much shock to think clearly. It¡¯s not your fault thought Vori Ignore her. Leeta made eye contact with Vori, even though Vori had desperately been trying to avoid it. ¡°Take off your helmet,¡± ordered Leeta. ¡°Private,¡± said General Var. ¡°We don¡¯t have time for this! We need to explain the Teeth Tax!¡± Leeta stood up and put her hands on the table. ¡°Remove it,¡± she said sternly. Vori put one hand on her lightsaber under the table as she stood up and removed her helmet with her other hand. Leeta gasped. General Var drew her lightsaber. ¡°Meeting disbanded,¡± she yelled as the Super TroopersTM exited the room. Vori drew her lightsaber and lunged at General Var. ¡°Master, your technique is off,¡± sneered Leeta, joining the fight. Vori spun around and force pushed her backwards, while fending off General Var with her lightsaber. General Var slashed her lightsaber at Vori, but Vori jumped out of the way. Var¡¯s lightsaber sliced through the table. ¡°Darn, that was all of our Breathing Tax money from last month,¡± she spat as she force pushed a chair into Vori. It caught Vori off guard as Leeta rejoined the fight. ¡°Outnumbered,¡± said Leeta. ¡°You¡¯re a skilled fighter, but the odds are against you.¡± Vori noted that while she was way better than both Var and Leeta separately, but together they posed a challenge for her. Vori grabbed the seat of a chair that had been sliced off and hurled it like a Frisbee at General Var, while also kicking Leeta backwards. ¡°Var, you may be a general, but where did you train with a lightsaber? You¡¯ve got worse technique than Leeta!¡± teased Vori as she pushed over a table to hit Var in the knees. Var gritted her teeth and sliced the table in half. ¡°Training is for the weak. Some of us are just naturally gifted,¡± she sneered at Vori as she summoned Leeta over. Leeta swung from the left side as Vori blocked and pushed away. She used her other hand to twist Leeta¡¯s behind her back and grabbed her lightsaber, now dual wielding. Leeta, shocked, forced the table into Vori, who didn¡¯t have time to push it out of the way. General Var, after recovering from getting hit in the face by the chair seat, sprang at Vori and knocked Vori¡¯s purple lightsaber out of her hand and tossed it to Leeta. ¡°Aw come on, I like purple,¡± joked Vori in the heat of battle, as she remembered that she was supposed to be the serious character. ¡°I took your padawan, and now your lightsaber. All that¡¯s left are your limbs,¡± sneered Var. Angry, Vori force pushed her against the wall, so hard that General Var cut her face on the glass panels. Leeta swung her lightsaber at Vori as she sliced three fingers off Vori¡¯s right hand. In agonizing pain, Vori force pushed a table into Leeta as she sprinted for the exit. She put her helmet back on and slowed down, blending in with a crowd of Super TroopersTM who happened to be walking by. ¡°CURSES!¡± yelled General Var, standing up from where she had been smashed against the wall. ¡°I will search all of you!¡± Vori hurried to the front of the crowd as General Var started yanking off helmets. Vori kept walking, and turned. ¡°I guess I¡¯ll find Tama in the air ducts,¡± she muttered as she used her jedi jump to leap into the air ducts. The rest of the Super TroopersTM walked beneath her, with General Var frantically searching each of them. Chapter 9 ¡°Why do I always have to use the air ducts?¡± grumbled Tama, crouching her way through what seemed like miles of air duct (but was really only 30 feet). Dust stuck to the sides of her shiny plastic Super TrooperTM suit. Below her, she could hear what sounded like a business meeting. ¡°This is boring,¡± she yawned, and crawled on. Soon, she could take it no longer. Opening the hatch, she checked the hallway for Super Troopers,TM then climbed down into the hall below. ¡°Now if I were a young padawan, where would I be?¡± Tama said to herself. The she facepalmed. ¡°Duh, she was kidnapped. She¡¯s probably not just prancing around waiting to-¡± Tama was knocked over by a Super TrooperTM prancing through the hallway. Tama looked confused. ¡°STOP JUDGING ME!¡± sobbed the Super TrooperTM as he continued to prance away. Tama shrugged and continued down the hallway, until it lead to a single black door. She tried to sense what was on the other side, but felt a strange block. Intrigued, she forced the door open. Tama jedi jumped up to the ceiling and back into the air ducts. Better safe than sorry. She crawled along the interior of the ceiling, listening for talking. ¡°Man, I was so turnt last night,¡± said a voice. Tama paused. ¡°I know, right? I¡¯ve never seen someone eat so many chewy vites,¡± said another voice. ¡°THOSE WERE VITAMINS??? I THOUGHT THEY WERE GUMMY BEARS!¡± yelled the first voice. Tama, now interested in their conversation, quietly dropped down from the air ducts. ¡°Oh hey BS-0130,¡± said the the first Super TrooperTM. Tama became uninterested. ¡°Is there anything worth seeing here?¡± she asked the Super TroopersTM. They looked at each other. ¡°Sometimes if you listen hard enough through the walls you can hear General Var calling her parents,¡± said the second one. ¡°Her mom seems nice.¡± Tama facepalmed. ¡°Fine, I¡¯ll see to it myself,¡± she said, breaking contact with the Super TroopersTM. She walked towards another door. ¡°You can¡¯t go through there,¡± said the first one. Tama looked back at him. ¡°You will not tell me what to do,¡± she said, attempting to do the jedi mind trick. The Super TrooperTM stared at her. ¡°You will tell me what to do,¡± he repeated. Tama sighed, frustratedly before force pushing both of them back into a wall, knocking them unconcious. She continued towards the door. It hissed open as Tama walked into a shadow to blend in. The walls were lined with diagrams and maps plotting out planets Tama had never even heard of before. Thousands of failed proposals from marketing littered the floor. ¡°What the-¡± a Super TrooperTM bonked his head on the doorway really loudly ¡°is going on in here?¡± she demanded. Two figures were conversing in the back of the room and paused. Tama slunk back into the shadows. ¡°Good work,¡± said a snarly voice. Tama peeked closer. She gasped. Darth Vaita, the most evil humanoid in the galaxy, here in her presence. And Tama was stalking her. She felt a shiver run down her head tails as she processed what was happening. ¡°I expect our taxes to be presented upon the Suzerainty territories by noon,¡± she snarled. Tama crept closer. Master Turi was going to love to hear about this! ¡°Without further ado, we need to do something about the jedi,¡± said Darth Vaita. ¡°They¡¯re gaining power. Perhaps you could help eradicate them from within.¡± ¡°Yes, Lord Vaita,¡± said a familiar voice. Very familiar. ¡°Eradicate them, I shall.¡± What happened next was impossible to describe perfectly, since the amount of emotion and betrayal felt was unimaginable. Imagine spending your whole life to lead to one point, and then you get hit by a herd of rhinos stampeding over you right after your lifeless mangled body was dropped into a pit of flaming cacti while getting struck by lightning. ¡°Oddly specific that was. Okay, you must not be?¡± the voice asked. Only then did Tama realize that she was speaking out loud ¡°NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!¡± screamed Tama in agony. She crumpled to the floor in defeat as Master Turi stood over her. ¡°How could you do this to me? I trusted you!¡± ¡°Kill her,¡± said Master Turi. ¡°She knows too much.¡± Tama broke into a full spring out the door with Darth Vaita hot on her head tails. Tama tossed her helmet off and allowed her head tails to air out a bit, since they were cramped up in her suit for the longest time.Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon. Tama zipped past the two Super TroopersTM that she smashed against the wall. They were beginning to recover from their injuries. ¡°Darth Vaita, my friend,¡± said the second one. ¡°Man, that party last night was the-¡± Another Super TrooperTM bonked his head on the doorway. ¡°Out of the way, plebeians,¡± growled Darth Vaita, getting stalled by the two Super TroopersTM. Tama used this diversion as a way to escape. She sprinted her way back to the meet point, with Adala holding Karis in her arms. ¡°WE HAVE TO GO NOW!¡± yelled Tama, opening the port. Adala looked at her, confused. ¡°I defeated the Sith. There¡¯s no real danger here. Let¡¯s just wait until Vori gets back,¡± she explained. Tama¡¯s face fell. ¡°There are more Sith on the ship,¡± she explained. ¡°We can¡¯t wait anymore.¡± Tama hoisted Karis into their ship. ¡°FREEZE!¡± yelled a Super TrooperTM. Tama groaned. ¡°Here we go again,¡± she sighed, pulling out her lightsaber. The Super TrooperTM took off her helmet. ¡°Let¡¯s go,¡± said Vori, rubbing her eyes from being stuck in the helmet. The three of them leaped into their ship. ¡°Take off quickly,¡± said Tama, panicking. Adala undocked the ship. Suddenly, a visual transmission appeared. ¡°Oh good, it¡¯s Master Turi reaching out to us,¡± said Vori. ¡°She knows how to bypass our incognito mode.¡± Tama¡¯s eyes widened. ¡°Due to most unfortunate circumstances, four jedi have been disbanded from the council. Making secret deals with the Suzerainty, Adala Sati, Karis Par, Vori Yara, and Tama Kaap have been discovered doing. Enemies of the Jedi Ascendency, they are. Providing aid to these rebels, you must not,¡± said Master Turi. The transmission ended. ¡°Well what the heck was that about?¡± asked Adala, confused. Tama remained silent. ¡°There has to be a mistake. We haven¡¯t done anything,¡± stated Vori. The two turned to Tama. ¡°It was Master Turi who was consulting with the Suzerainty. Not me. I swear. I just walked in on her and Darth Vaita-¡± ¡°Uhuh. Likely story,¡± said Adala in disbelief. ¡°Why would I lie? It¡¯s not the jedi thing to do. After all, I am a jedi knight,¡± stated Tama. ¡°Not anymore,¡± muttered a wounded Karis from the floor. Tama gave her a face. ¡°What is going on?¡± Vori sighed. ¡°Turi¡¯s little spy thinks she saw Darth Vaita,¡± huffed Adala. Tama¡¯s face turned a darker shade of blue. ¡°I¡¯m not lying,¡± she said, looking Adala right in the eyes. ¡°Oh crap, you aren¡¯t,¡± said Adala. ¡°Well what do we do now! We¡¯re wanted fugitives!¡± ¡°And I¡¯m dying,¡± grumbled Karis. ¡°Be quiet. You¡¯ll live. I missed any vital organs you might need,¡± said Adala. ¡°So you stabbed her? What is going on?¡± said Tama. ¡°Well, you found the most powerful Sith lord in the galaxy confiding with the most powerful jedi in the galaxy in one meeting,¡± said Adala. ¡°But you actually stabbed your padawan. Seriously!¡± said Tama quickly. ¡°She was here,¡± whispered Vori as all eyes turned to her. ¡°Oh I am so sorry-¡± started Adala. ¡°Don¡¯t be. It was my fault she turned. There was nothing anyone else could do to stop it,¡± she said, sadly. ¡°WHO?¡± asked Tama loudly before she was kicked in the shins by Karis. ¡°Leeta. My first padawan,¡± stated Vori. ¡°We lost her to the Dark Side when she was still a young padawan. Three years ago. Let¡¯s just say I wasn¡¯t the jedi I am today, and Var offered her a position. First she steals my padawan, now my lightsaber.¡± ¡°Oh, I¡¯m sorry. I just hate the pronoun game. I feel it was invented to keep the plot moving to move in for a revealing surprise that half the audience saw was coming anyways,¡± stated Tama. Vori shrugged. ¡°I suppose you¡¯re right,¡± she agreed. ¡°Um guys,¡± stated Adala. ¡°We have two bounty ships approaching.¡± ¡°Can you jump to hyperspace?¡± asked Tama. ¡°No, hyperspace isn¡¯t fast enough,¡± said Adala, shaking her head. ¡°We need to try ¨¹berspace.¡± ¡°¨¹BERSPACE?¡± yelled Vori. ¡°THE SHIP WILL RIP APART!¡± ¡°Do you want to die quickly or by the hands of the bounty hunters?¡± suggested Adala. Vori stayed silent. ¡°Initializing ¨¹berspace.¡± Suddenly, the ship lurched forward at unimaginable speed. ¡°W-w-w-we¡¯re splitting apart!¡± yelled Tama, holding on to the back of her chair. A hairline crack appeared in the front window panel of the ship. ¡°EJECT!!!¡± yelled Adala as she rushed towards the escape pod. Tama dragged Karis in after Vori lunged into it. The escape pod shot out of the ship moments before it was ripped to shreds. ¡°I knew I should have invested in extra shielding,¡± muttered Adala. ¡°GET OFF ME!¡± yelled Karis as Tama scooched off her. ¡°Sorry, there isn¡¯t much room in the escape pod,¡± grumbled Tama. ¡°So, where do we go now?¡± ¡°Wherever our trajectory takes us. I forgot to refill the plasma in the tanks,¡± said Adala, getting embarrassed. ¡°You what?¡± asked Tama. ¡°Anyways, we¡¯re approaching a planet if you look out this window here,¡± said Adala. ¡°Huh. What window? Oh, I forget, I can¡¯t see anything because Tama is sitting on me,¡± complained Karis. Tama glared at her. ¡°Do you know what planet it is?¡± asked Vori. Adala thought for a moment. ¡°I¡¯ve honestly never been here before and don¡¯t know what to expect,¡± she sighed. Chapter 10 The pod reached the atmosphere and caught on fire from the outside. ¡°We¡¯re going to die,¡± whimpered Karis. ¡°Yes, you are, if you keep picking at that scab on your chest,¡± said Adala, looking down at Karis. ¡°Well I wouldn¡¯t have this giant cauterized wound if it weren¡¯t for you,¡± she spat back at her. Vori silenced Adala, who was about to speak. ¡°We¡¯re going to be fine, okay? The pod¡¯s just going to crash land on the planet. No big deal,¡± she said calmly. Suddenly the jedis crashed into the planet. Adala popped the top hatch off the escape pod. She read the outside. ¡°Made for one person¡¡± she trailed off as she helped Karis out of the pod. ¡°Ugh sand,¡± complained Karis, dusting off her clothing. She looked around at the landscape of the planet. Sand. ¡°It really does get everywhere,¡± she thought, trying to brush the gritty particles off her clothes. ¡°Can I have something to block the sand from entering my wound?¡± she asked. No one replied. Karis ripped part of her robe off and blocked the entry way. ¡°DIY bandage.¡± ¡°That cannot be sanitary,¡± Vori declared, looking down at her two remaining fingers on her right hand. She had already bandaged them using their ship¡¯s first aid kit. ¡°So where are we anyway?¡± Tama asked, looking around the planet. ¡°We¡¯re in a desert,¡± Adala replied. ¡°No, I hadn¡¯t guessed,¡± grumbled Karis. Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. ¡°So where exactly are we?¡± asked Tama. ¡°Well, according to my convenient object called a P.L.O.T. device, we are on Tatooine,¡± Vori announced. ¡°Oh! I know that planet! We should go to Tosche Station to pick up some power converters,¡± suggested Tama. Everyone looked at her. ¡°So can you take us there?¡± Adala asked. Tama thought for a moment. ¡°If we use Vori¡¯s P.L.O.T. device, we can probably figure out where it is, and then create a plan for getting there. Hopefully it¡¯s not too far.¡± Vori checked the device. ¡°It looks like it¡¯s just over the next sand dune.¡± ¡°Wow, that P.L.O.T. device really does work!¡± Adala exclaimed. ¡°That¡¯s what it was made to do,¡± Vori replied. The four of them walked over the sand dune. It took longer than they expected, since the dune was so high. As they walked, the rough, coarse, irritating sand got everywhere. By the time they reached the station, they were sandier than the sand people. ¡°What the heck Tama, this is a cantina!¡± said Adala. ¡°I thought we were getting repairs!¡± Tama shrugged. ¡°I thought we could stop for a drink,¡± she said. ¡°Tama, jedi knights don¡¯t drink,¡± said Adala. ¡°We¡¯re not jedi knights anymore,¡± said Tama. ¡°In case you forgot.¡± ¡°So does that mean we should abandon our jedi principles?¡± Adala demanded. ¡°Or we could just get lemonades,¡± Vori suggested, pointing to the kid¡¯s menu. Tama ignored her. ¡°You will get me your best drink, and throw in some change,¡± said Tama to the barista using a jedi mind trick. ¡°Tama!¡± Adala yelled. ¡°The jedi mind tricks are supposed to be used for good, not to get free stuff! It¡¯s like you¡¯re starting to turn to the Dark Side!¡± The barista shrugged and plopped some eyeballs and ground meat into a blender. Tama¡¯s eyes filled with horror. ¡°It¡¯s a Tatooine classic,¡± said the barista, handing over the revolting puree of meat and a stack of Altarian dollars. Tama took a sip. ¡°Not bad,¡± she said, handing the drink to Adala. ¡°You should try it.¡± Adala had a revolted look on her face. ¡°I¡¯ll take three lemonades,¡± said Vori to the barista. ¡°Let¡¯s go sit down to plan what we do next.¡± Chapter 11 ¡°Calling to Jue Yuvhan and Skoti Draug, what happened? Did you lose them?¡± asked Darth Vaita over a com link. Jue, a Rodian, facepalmed. ¡°They used ¨¹berspace,¡± he complained. ¡°But we tracked their signature down to Tatooine. Their ship exploded but we picked up one escape pod.¡±Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings. ¡°So only one of them made it out alive?¡± asked Darth Vaita. ¡°Well theoretically, two, at most, could fit into one of those pods,¡± said Skoti, a Pantoran. ¡°This is too easy,¡± muttered Darth Vaita. ¡°There¡¯s no way we already got rid of two of them. I want you two to investigate.¡± ¡°As you wish,¡± said Jue before killing the com link. Chapter 12 By the time Jue got to Tosche Station, Skoti had been waiting outside for a few minutes. ¡°You idiot! I came late so we wouldn¡¯t make a double entrance!¡± he yelled to Skoti. Skoti shrugged and pulled down his mask. ¡°Do you think we¡¯d look out of place with masks down?¡± he asked Jue. ¡°Eh, there are tons of weird looking creatures in here, it shouldn¡¯t be a problem,¡± said Jue. He pulled out a tranq gun. ¡°Okay so when I fire this is renders the victim unconscious so we can go and pick them up from the place where they fall. I don¡¯t think Darth Vaita is ready to kill them yet,¡± said Jue. He walked into the cantina with Skoti behind him. ¡°I see the Twi`lek,¡± he whispered, aiming his gun. ¡°You go to the left end of the cantina so you don¡¯t draw attention. Keep your com link open.¡± Jue waited until the Twi`lek walked a little out from her table and then fired. The bullet hit her right in the neck. ¡°I got a hit,¡± said Jue. He paused. ¡°She¡¯s not falling.¡± ¡°There¡¯s only one known neutralizer for the tranq poison,¡± said Skoti. Suddenly Jue vomited. ¡°What¡¯s wrong?¡± asked Skoti, hearing the retching noises through the earpiece. ¡°She must have eaten the innards of a Bantha,¡± he said, queasy. ¡°Man, these guys are professionals!¡± said Skoti, impressed. ¡°Professionals at what?¡± asked Jue, recovering from his bout of nausea. ¡°Professional Jedi Fugitives. Duh,¡± said Skoti dumbly. ¡°So uh, did Darth Vaita tell us what the rest of the jedi looked like?¡± ¡°No, we¡¯re just going to have to shoot the place up,¡± said Jue. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. ¡°Seems legit,¡± said Skoti. ¡°Wait. I only have five bullets. There are at least 14 people here,¡± said Jue. ¡°I¡¯m assuming you have six since you didn¡¯t fire one. Let¡¯s just line up everyone and pick the ones we think are jedi.¡± ¡°Great idea!¡± Skoti exclaimed excitedly. ¡°That will never fail!¡± He turned to face the occupants of the cantina. ¡°Everyone, hands up! This is Commander General Lieutenant Marshall Darth Skoti. We are on a hunt to find the fugitive jedis. Oh and I¡¯m a Major too.¡± ¡°NO! We didn¡¯t think of a plan yet!¡± whispered Jue. ¡°It¡¯s ok, I¡¯ve got this,¡± Skoti whispered. ¡°If you¡¯re a jedi, then come here right now!¡± No one stood up or did anything. ¡°Aww, I thought that would work. Fine. I¡¯ll just pick you.¡± Skoti pointed to a member of the Hutt family. ¡°You look like you¡¯re trying to escape the Fat Tax!¡± Skoti shot the Hutt in the neck, or wherever his neck would have been if he wasn¡¯t a giant slug creature. No effect. Skoti shot him again. ¡°Skoti! Spare your tranq bullets!¡± said Jue. ¡°I ate three Bantha before I came here,¡± said the Hutt. Jue collapsed to the floor in agony as the picture of a giant slug creature devouring three hairy banthas overcame his thoughts. The most meat Jue had ever eaten before were small bugs. ¡°Okay this is taking too long,¡± said a Mirialan female, kicking Skoti right in the hand to drop his gun. ¡°Hey!¡± said Skoti, pulling out another gun. ¡°You. Had. Another. Gun?!¡± asked Jue, angrily rising from the floor. ¡°We could have just shot everyone!¡± ¡°SHOOT EVERYONE?¡± the cantina erupted into a giant fight. Three of the customers pulled out lightsabers and started deflecting whatever was getting thrown at them. ¡°Well I guess three are still alive,¡± said Skoti. He rolled a small gas grenade on the floor. ¡°Skoti no not by me!¡± yelled Jue as he jumped out of the way. Three humanoids were knocked unconscious. ¡°Always check where you¡¯re throwing those!¡± Jue yelled at Skoti. ¡°Relax. I know what I¡¯m doi-¡± Skoti was hit in the face by a flying lump of unidentified substance. He uttered a high pitch scream. ¡°Mmh,¡± said Jue, aiming his tranq gun at the Mirialan. ¡°NO!¡± yelled Jue as the Hutt moved in the way of his shot, causing him to waste another bullet. ¡°MOVE!¡± ¡°Hey boss, your ship is gone,¡± said Skoti woozily as someone smashed him over the head with a chair. ¡°Don¡¯t be sil- HEY WHERE¡¯D MY SHIP GO!¡± yelled Jue running to the window. ¡°Man, they are professional jedi fugitives. Skoti, for once, you were right!¡± Chapter 13 ¡°How do we fly this thing, all the controls are written in Rodian!¡± exclaimed Adala. ¡°Oh, I can read Rodian,¡± said Karis, pushing some buttons on the consoles. All eyes turned to her as the ship rose off the ground. ¡°Really? Oh thank you-¡± ¡°I¡¯m kidding,¡± said Karis, pushing more buttons. ¡°I have no idea what I¡¯m doing.¡± ¡°WHAT?!¡± exclaimed Tama and Adala as the ship lurched forwards out of the atmosphere. ¡°Relax, we¡¯re only 17 pages in. They can¡¯t kill us off now,¡± muttered Vori under her breath. The other three looked at her, confused. ¡°Oh I have an idea. Karis, can you get the com system working?¡± asked Adala. Karis pressed a button. Suddenly windshield wipers were activated. Karis pressed it again but they went faster. ¡°Give me control,¡± said Adala, pushing Karis out of the way. Karis looked at her in spite, for Adala was always taking control when Karis wasn¡¯t good enough. A message popped onto the screen. ¡°We have located the family of Tama Kap. The execution video will be sent in four minutes,¡± said the message. Tama jabbed at the X button. ¡°I don¡¯t want to see it,¡± she whispered. The three nodded their heads solemnly. Adala looked around the control panel. ¡°I need to send my own message,¡± she muttered, scanning. ¡°Found it,¡± said Adala, typing in the coordinates of a message. ¡°What¡¯d you send?¡± asked Tama. ¡°Oh I told Sel we¡¯re coming to Globnar,¡± said Adala. ¡°Sel will help us; he will probably believe us.¡± ¡°Okay, and how do you expect us to get to Globnar?¡± asked Karis, impatiently. ¡°Apparently I can¡¯t handle the ship well enough to even send a message. What makes you think I can get to Globnar?¡± ¡°We could travel by Map,¡± said Vori, holding up a map. ¡°I stole it from a little green muppet-looking creature.¡± ¡°So how does that work?¡± asked Tama right before a montage of scenes of their ship going through space happened. ¡°Whoa!¡± everyone exclaimed. ¡°Okay but really, how am I going to dock the ship?¡± asked Karis nervously. ¡°Just go for it! I¡¯m sure you¡¯ll do fine,¡± said Tama enthusiastically. Karis shrugged and the ship started plummeting towards the planet. ¡°BAD IDEA DON¡¯T JUST GO FOR IT!¡± yelled Tama as the ship broke through the clouds. Karis yanked the thrusts as hard as she could and the ship landed perfectly on the ground. Everyone stopped and breathed out. ¡°For a second, I thought we were going to di-¡± the ship tipped over and caught on fire. The four scrambled out of the ship and watched as it disintegrated. ¡°Two spaceship crashes in one day? What are the odds?¡± Karis asked. ¡°It¡¯s almost as if we are in a sadistic narrative fabricated by a bunch of teenage girls with nothing better to do. Also, they suck at creating original plot twists.¡± ¡°Stop being weird,¡± Adala criticized her. Karis narrowed her eyes. ¡°Sel!¡± exclaimed Vori as he walked out of the landing base. His eyes were filled with concern. ¡°What happened?¡± he asked Adala. ¡°I heard the news.¡± ¡°Well, we found Master Turi confiding with the Siths, and she caught us and placed the blame on us,¡± stated Adala. Sel looked at her as if she suggested that they were all fictional characters. ¡°Well, that¡¯s an interesting story,¡± he said awkwardly. He looked down and shifted his feet around.Love this story? Find the genuine version on the author''s preferred platform and support their work! ¡°You don¡¯t believe us, do you?¡± Tama¡¯s eyes were full of despair as she looked at Sel. He pursed his lips and refused to make eye contact. ¡°It is highly improbable that Master Turi was confiding with the Sith,¡± he stated confidently. ¡°Why should I take her word under yours?¡± ¡°Why would we lie to you, Sel?¡± asked Vori. ¡°Well, you are one to tell, aren¡¯t you. I wouldn¡¯t want to revisit the whole Leeta crisis,¡± he told her. Vori crossed her arms. ¡°Oh really. I do believe you helped me hide it from Turi until she ended up discovering it for herself. And plus, she still doesn¡¯t trust you enough to give you your own padawan,¡± said Vori making a comeback. ¡°But that¡¯s where you went wrong. I do have a padawan,¡± said Sel. ¡°And who would that be? There aren¡¯t any padawans without masters currently and we aren¡¯t searching for new ones until next month,¡± said Vori, confused. ¡°Lada,¡± said Sel. Suddenly Vori felt a pang in her chest. Anger surged through her. Turi had planned this. Karis placed her hand on Vori¡¯s shoulder and gave her a hard look. Vori could tell she understood the feeling, and unclenched her fist. ¡°I feel a disturbance in the force,¡± said Adala, rubbing her eyes. ¡°Sel, what did you do?¡± ¡°I did what I had to,¡± said Sel. ¡°They were monitoring my transmissions!¡± ¡°SEL WHAT DID YOU DO!¡± said Tama, placing her hands on Sel¡¯s shoulders. Sel brushed them off. ¡°They only want one of you,¡± he hinted. ¡°Karis, don¡¯t,¡± said Adala, instinctually sticking her arm out to protect Karis from jumping on him. ¡°I¡¯ll go.¡± The other three jedi looked at her. ¡°Well, I¡¯m not arguing,¡± huffed Tama. Vori remained silent. ¡°But Master-¡± started Karis. ¡°We can¡¯t lose you again, Karis. Don¡¯t worry, I¡¯ll be fine,¡± said Adala. Karis¡¯s eyes fell. Sel opened a small pod. ¡°It has autopilot to your destination and is encrypted not to leave any energy trails,¡± said Sel. Adala stepped inside. ¡°Here,¡± she said, tossing Vori her lightsaber. ¡°You¡¯ll need it more than I will.¡± Vori caught the lightsaber and looked back at Adala. ¡°Adala, no I can¡¯t have thi-¡± Adala winked at her before Sel could notice. Vori hastily put it away. The door to the pod closed and started to lift into the air. ¡°NO!¡± yelled Karis. Without Adala to hold her back, she drew her lightsaber. ¡°Karis, please stop it! If you feed off negative emotion, you start to draw power from the Dark Side. Once you turn, you can¡¯t go back!¡± exclaimed Vori. Sel chuckled. ¡°Do you really think you can attempt to fight me? I¡¯ve been on the council for 5 times as long as you¡¯ve been training. You don¡¯t stand a chance,¡± he huffed. Karis smiled sinisterly. ¡°Try me.¡± With that, Karis lunged at Sel and struck with rapid succession. Sel, caught off guard, was barely prepared to draw his lightsaber. Karis spun to the side and tried to stab him from the front, but he evaded and force pushed her into the building. Karis crumpled in the side, feeling her chest from her earlier wound. She hesitantly rose, and continued on the offensive side. ¡°Karis stop!¡± said Tama, watching with Vori from afar. ¡°It will stop sooner if you would help me!¡± she cried out in the middle of battle. Tama looked at Vori, who had closed her eyes to meditate. ¡°Vori what do we do?¡± asked Tama frantically. Vori shushed her. ¡°I need to regain balance with the force,¡± she said softly. ¡°This is not the time for your Mirialan spiritual journeys. I need advice, now,¡± exclaimed Tama. ¡°It is not the way of the jedi to fight out of revenge and spite,¡± said Vori. Tama huffed and sat down next to her, mimicking Vori¡¯s position. ¡°Great. Just great,¡± said Karis sarcastically, fending off a slice from the left. Suddenly Sel kicked her in the ribs. Karis fell back in pain. ¡°You never were good at defense,¡± he said, closing in on her. Karis threw her lightsaber forwards and watched in torment as it sliced through him. Flashbacks went through her mind This was her friend who fought besides her in battle. This was her friend who helped her learn to use the force. This was her friend who manufactured her first lightsaber for her. ¡°I killed him,¡± whispered Karis, her eyes glossed over. ¡°I was the final force in his life. One moment he was here, the next moment he was gone. I caused him to cease to exist.¡± Vori placed her hand on Karis¡¯s shoulder. ¡°You did what you had to,¡± she said to Karis, bending down to face her. ¡°What happened, happened. If you hadn¡¯t ended his life, he would have ended yours.¡± ¡°But he was a jedi. Jedi would never kill their own kind,¡± she said. ¡°Sel was all about following the rules.¡± ¡°Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, people change. With all the adrenaline pumping through you, you couldn¡¯t make sense of the situation. The force guided your decisions.¡± ¡°But I was filled with hatred. He betrayed us.¡± Tears streamed down Karis¡¯s face. ¡°And to be honest, if the roles were reversed, I wouldn¡¯t blame him for not believing us.¡± ¡°Karis, you¡¯re being too hard on yourself.¡± ¡°You don¡¯t know me.¡± Karis¡¯s eyes were filled with malice. ¡°You don¡¯t know what I¡¯ve been through.¡± Vori paused for a moment. ¡°I might not know what happened in the past, or how you felt in the present, but I can help you make the most of the future,¡± she said calmly. Karis embraced her in a hug. ¡°At least Sel left us a ship we could steal.¡± Karis stifled a little laugh. Things were going to be okay. Chapter 14 ¡°Oh, Adala. I¡¯m pleased it was you who decided to sacrifice yourself. Such a noble offering. Pleasure to meet you again,¡± said Darth Burai. The Super TroopersTM let go of Adala¡¯s hands. ¡°No, I haven¡¯t forgotten your name yet.¡± ¡°I see I¡¯ve made quite an impression on your face,¡± she said seriously. Darth Burai touched his nose with his newly installed robotic hand. ¡°I haven¡¯t forgotten that, either,¡± he said, flipping his cape over his shoulder. ¡°It reminds me of that one song¡ how does it go again¡ oh yeah! My taste in music is your face!¡± ¡°So you¡¯re saying you like my face,¡± Adala smirked. ¡°N-no! You¡¯ve got it all wrong! I was just quoting the song!¡± Darth Burai¡¯s face seemed slightly redder than usual, although that could have been from all the bruises on his face. ¡°What do you want from me?¡± asked Adala, concerned. Darth Burai smiled sinisterly. ¡°Darth Vaita and her pet Turi want to eradicate the jedi. And one way to eradicate is to take away what makes you a Jedi,¡± said Darth Burai. Adala pursed her lips. ¡°If you were to reject your jedi principles, you wouldn¡¯t be considered a threat.¡± ¡°Never. I am loyal to the Jedi Ascendancy,¡± she stated. Reading on this site? The same Jedi Ascendancy that was being ruled by the Dark Side this whole time? The same Jedi Ascendancy that kept secrets from you?¡± he listed. ¡°Adala, these people lied to you. They are not your allies.¡± Darth Burai snatched the necklace from Adala¡¯s neck and pocketed it. Adala stared at him in silence before thinking of words to say. ¡°But the Dark Side is evil,¡± insisted Adala, trying to defend the Jedi Ascendancy. ¡°You draw your power from negative emotions.¡± ¡°But what is so bad about negative emotions? They make us stronger. They¡¯re a tool to utilize to become more powerful than the jedi. Only the weak get so absorbed by power they can¡¯t control themselves. If you can balance the amount of power you sap from the Dark side of the force, it can prove to be beneficial,¡± stated Darth Burai. ¡°I sense feelings from you, Adala. Feelings that the jedi don¡¯t allow you to have.¡± ¡°Stop using my name,¡± said Adala. ¡°It makes me uncomfortable.¡± ¡°Adala¡ You¡¯re in pain. The jedi have restricted your power. You have so much potential,¡± started Darth Burai. Adala remained silent. ¡°I¡¯ll let you in on a little secret; we both have a common enemy.¡± Adala¡¯s ears perked. ¡°It symbolizes the end of a Sith¡¯s training when he musters enough strength to kill his master. Darth Vaita is strong. I disagree with her philosophies, yet she has taught me everything I know today. I am only her servant, her pawn in combat strategies. I have my own plans, my own ideas, yet she overshadows all of them,¡± explained Darth Burai. ¡°After I dispose of her, I could take on an apprentice. Someone to pass on the knowledge that has been passed on for generations. Adala, I want that person to be you.¡± Adala felt the rage flowing through her. Darth Vaita had poisoned Master Turi with the Dark Side of the force. Darth Vaita had been behind the illegal tax reforms in the galaxy. Darth Vaita had murdered her parents in cold blood in front of her. ¡°Consider my offer,¡± said Darth Burai, turning to walk out of the room. ¡°Whatever you choose, don¡¯t regret your decision.¡± Chapter 15 ¡°My lord, they are more powerful than we thought,¡± said Jue, speaking to a hologram of Darth Vaita. Darth Vaita shook her head. ¡°The two most powerful bounty hunters in the galaxy were outsmarted by a few young jedi. May I remind you, that you two were the ones who took down an entire Jedi Ascendancy base from corrupting members from within. You have failed me,¡± said Darth Vaita in disappointment. If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. ¡°They were professional jedi fugitives!¡± exclaimed Skoti. ¡°There was nothing we could do!¡± ¡°I¡¯ll narrow down the job. Bring me this one,¡± said Darth Vaita, projecting an image of one of the jedis. ¡°Alive.¡± ¡°Consider it done,¡± said Jue before the transmission ended. ¡°Skoti, looks like we¡¯re back to jedi hunting.¡± Chapter 16 The rest of the jedi had a very different problem to deal with. Aside from the absolutely devastated Karis, another damaging force was present, and ready to kill if its demands were not met. ¡°I¡¯m SOOOOOO HUUUUUUUNNNNNNNGGGRRRRYYYYYYY!¡± Tama moaned. ¡°Tama, you have multiple stomachs. And food reserves in your head tails!¡± exclaimed Vori. ¡°Ehem, they¡¯re called lekku. But still. I¡¯m starving!¡± Tama complained. Karis only moaned from the corner of the ship, which the small group had decided to board. ¡°Well if it weren¡¯t for those bumbling bounty hunters, we would have gotten to eat something,¡± said Karis. ¡°Wait. Tama, you even ate something there! How are you still hungry?!¡± Tama shrugged. ¡°I¡¯m a stress eater, I guess,¡± she replied. ¡°Alright, fine. We can use the GPS system to take us to the closest restaurant,¡± Vori sighed. Karis noticed that Vori did a lot of sighing. They turned on the GPS and set it to take them to the restaurant. Suddenly, a giant flash of light burst around the ship, and all the inhabitants felt their insides being pushed and pulled like a pizza chef was tossing a giant slab of dough to make the crust. ¡°That was oddly specific,¡± Vori thought to herself as the analogy entered her head. When the flash had ended, the group checked their surroundings. Giant supernovas blasted over the disintegrating planet on which they now stood. ¡°Where are we?¡± Karis asked. ¡°According to the coordinates¡¡± Vori started, then paused in shock. ¡°We didn¡¯t move.¡± ¡°What? But this looks completely different!¡± Tama pointed out. This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it. ¡°What¡¯s Milliways?¡± Karis asked, gesturing to the building that the jedi had failed to notice before. ¡°Milliways? Wait a second¡ Check the date on the computer terminal,¡± Vori commanded. Tama looked at the display. ¡°No way. It says we traveled to the year 99999999999!¡± ¡°Either that, or the date counter broke,¡± Karis replied, pointing to the burned out pixels in the display. ¡°I didn¡¯t do it.¡± Vori noticed how instinctually Karis tried to remove herself from any blame that would be associated with her and remained silent. It most likely wasn¡¯t her fault anyway. ¡°So either the computer is broken, or we¡¯re in the future¡.Quick, Karis, look me up on Wookieepedia!¡± said Tama excitedly. Karis hesitantly accessed the database. ¡°Yep, we¡¯re definitely in the future,¡± muttered Karis. ¡°Tama, you disappear after being found out confiding with the Sith. There¡¯s no other entries in here.¡± Tama¡¯s head tails drooped. ¡°So I was either living a life in exile, or I died,¡± she grumbled. ¡°That¡¯s enough, we don¡¯t need to know any more about our lives,¡± said Vori. ¡°It¡¯s unnatural. Besides, this violates the laws of time travel. If we go back in time, we should currently be seeing what happened after we return to our time. Unless we don¡¯t do anything important, that is.¡± ¡°Aw Vori, you¡¯re no fun,¡± complained Tama. While Tama and Vori were speculating about what to do about the broken clock, Karis stole a glance at her own page. ¡°Darth Sirak, formerly Karis Par¡. The feared bloodthirsty leader of the Suzerainty. Killed millions,¡± whispered Karis to herself, trailing off. ¡°Death: suicide.¡± Karis dropped the database in shock. Karis considered reading the rest of her entry, but decided against it. It wouldn¡¯t happen. Would it? ¡°No! The green wire connects to the purple one, not the indigo one!¡± said Vori, frustrated. ¡°They all look the same to me,¡± grumbled Tama. ¡°Also, I¡¯m still hungry. I haven¡¯t had food in billions of years, remember?¡± Vori rolled her eyes. ¡°Technically you haven¡¯t, since your matter was all transferred into the future. You don¡¯t exist in the past where we were before, therefore the same amount of time has gone by. Not relative time, but time that has happened since we transitioned into the future. Therefore you should be just as hungry as you would have been if we were still in our time,¡± explained Vori. ¡°And when we go back, if everything works, then our matter will reappear in the same exact spot.¡± ¡°No, if we were still in the past, I would have eaten,¡± Tama huffed. Vori decided that now was not the time to have a quantum physics debate. ¡°Fine. We can go to your restaurant.¡± Chapter 17 Tama looked at one of the restaurant televisions. ¡°Guys, look!¡± she said, pointing to it. ¡°Hello Galaxy. I mean Universe. Uh, can we do a do over? Hello Universe!¡± said General Var on the screen, adjusting her had to fit better on her head tails. ¡°It is I, General Var, financial advisor to the Suzerainty and commander of the Super TroopersTM. I have a very important broadcast that needs to be made. A new tax law has been imposed on force sensitive individuals. The force is a mystical thing that some individuals possess which makes them be able to do witchcraft. These people are being taxed 500x what they would if they were normal. It is only for our own protection. No force sensitive person should be able to have that much power.¡± ¡°This is a load of BS, Var is force sensitive herself,¡± muttered Vori. Tama shushed her. ¡°Hi, I¡¯m Private Leeta,¡± said Leeta, joining the screen in a monotonous voice. ¡°I¡¯m here to report on the destruction of the planet Earth. As an order issued by Darth Vaita herself, the decision to destroy Earth was for the better. Not only is there more chance of colonizing the other planets in their solar system, it is rumored that professional jedi fugitive Karis Par is from there. Who knows how many other jedi they could be training. Back to you General.¡±Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator. ¡°They blew up Earth!¡± Karis yelled. ¡°Can¡¯t get enough of Earth? Try new Earth Dust, dust from the destruction of Earth that you can smoke. It is 15% safe to use, and costs 1.5% less than it used to. What a steal,¡± said General Var unenthusiastically. ¡°It Earth Dust isn¡¯t enough, try Premium Earth Dust. This is Earth Dust that has been filtered through for any non bio substances that might be present in it. What a great way to breathe in the blood of your enemies!¡± General Var halfheartedly held a thumbs up as the background behind her started to change colors. ¡°Don¡¯t forget the jedi slayer kit for the little ones. A personalized small tranq gun loaded with force neutralized safe for consumption. It provides great practice and protection in case you spot a jedi in the wild. It comes in ravishing colors such as ¡°red blood of slain jedi¡± and ¡°faulty mentor purple.¡±¡± said Private Leeta. Vori felt Leeta¡¯s eyes burn through her head through the screen. ¡°Are we done?¡± General Var asked, looking slightly away from the screen. She suddenly straightened her posture. ¡°All hail the Suzerainty!¡± She stayed still for a few moments before collapsing into her lounge chair. She grabbed an orange-like fruit with her feet and started peeling it. Private Leeta rushed over and whispered something into her ear. Mortified, Var reached her hand out at the camera and the screen soon turned black. ¡°Could our day possibly get any worse?¡± groaned Karis, not knowing what they were in for next. Chapter 18 ¡°The Restaurant at the End of the Galaxy,¡± said Jue approaching Skoti. ¡°It¡¯s called Milliways, and it¡¯s super tight. You¡¯ve probably never heard of it.¡± He started flapping his arms around weirdly. ¡°Um uh, let¡¯s just go find our people,¡± said Skoti, entering. Jue followed him. ¡°Oh wow!¡± said Skoti. Jue looked at him. ¡°What is it?¡± Jue asked, expecting a stupid comment. ¡°Jue, how much do Twi`lek sell for these days?¡± said Skoti, grinning evilly. ¡°Dude that¡¯s a jedi. There¡¯s no way we can contain her¡ but the profit from a jedi Twi`lek would be even more than a regular one!¡± Jue exclaimed, proud that Skoti gained some common sense. ¡°Okay here¡¯s the plan. We lure her away from the table and then drug her wit-SKOTI!¡± If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. ¡°I have some candy in my ship, want to come have some?¡± asked Skoti to the Twi`lek. She giggled. ¡°Depends¡¡± she said, flirtatiously. Skoti winked at Jue as they exited the restaurant. ¡°I can¡¯t believe that worked,¡± muttered Jue. He waited until the Mirialan had gone to go talk quantum physics with some other Mirialans. Now was his chance. He positioned his gun and fired a tranq bullet. ¡°Yes!¡± he said as she slumped over. He scooped her up off the ground and moved to outside the restaurant. ¡°This was too easy. What could go wrong?¡± Jue head some giggling as he exited the restaurant, but it sooned turned to screaming. ¡°HELP!¡± yelled Skoti as he got kicked unconscious in the face. ¡°That¡¯s what you get for lying to me, scumbag!¡± yelled the Twi`lek, kicking Skoti in the ribcage. Panicking, Jue pressed the close button on his keys. The door of the ship swung down and clobbered the Twi`lek in the head. Blue blood oozed out. ¡°Oh shi-¡± started Jue as he rushed over. ¡°I hope I didn¡¯t kill her!¡± He bent down to check out her injuries. ¡°Why do I have Skoti¡¯s keys,¡± he muttered to himself. He shrugged and reopened the ship. ¡°Darth Vaita, we have your goods,¡± he said over a transmission. Chapter 19 ¡°I go for five minutes and they¡¯re gone!¡± exclaimed Vori, walking back to Sel¡¯s ship. She sat down and pulled out Adala¡¯s lightsaber. She shook it. A small tracking device popped out. ¡°Perfect,¡± said Vori, plugging in the device into the ship. A signal lit up, displaying Adala¡¯s position at a recently visited location. ¡°Again?¡± sighed Vori. The little beacon lit up at the exact location of the enemy ship which they had boarded a day ago. ¡°Can¡¯t I ever catch a break?¡± Vori could have sworn she heard the evil maniacal laughter of two sadistic teenagers but shook her head. That wasn¡¯t logical. Thoughts about her old life as part of the Jedi Ascendancy clouded her minds. What would happen to the rest of the jedi? Turi obviously wanted to get rid of them somehow. But how?The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. Her thoughts shifted from the Jedi Ascendancy to Lada. She had gone through two masters in a span of two days. For all Vori knew, the message that Sel was dead might not have even left Globnar yet. Vori left the ship on autopilot and attempted to meditate, but found herself unable to. She took a deep breath and tried to connect with the force. Vori awoke in some meditational state. She found herself unable to move, but deduced she was seeing through a pair of eyes. A long dark corridor lay ahead, much like the ones on the big starship. Vori felt her host shivering as the host traversed through the ship. The host said something incomprehensible. ¡°Excellent,¡± said General Var, patting her host on the head. ¡°Our plan is set. Now all we have to do is wait.¡± Vori was taken aback. Her vision started to distort between her current place and her vision. She tried to keep the vision, but it slowly reverted back to real life. ¡°Wait for what?¡± Vori asked herself, thinking of possible things Var could be planning. ¡°I¡¯ve got a bad feeling about this.¡± Chapter 20 ¡°I¡¯ll do it,¡± said Adala, her eyes yellow with hatred for the Jedi Ascendancy. ¡°I¡¯ll join you.¡± Darth Burai smiled evilly. ¡°I hadn¡¯t doubted you,¡± he said. ¡°Of course you didn¡¯t! I¡¯m just that fabulous,¡± she replied, flipping her gorgeous, voluminous black hair. Darth Burai smiled. ¡°Let¡¯s get you a new lightsaber, I see you¡¯ve misplaced your old one,¡± he noticed. ¡°Can it be double bladed?¡± asked Adala. ¡°I¡¯ve always wanted to learn how to fight with a double bladed lightsaber.¡± ¡°Sure. Anything for my new apprentice,¡± said Darth Burai. Adala smiled once he turned around, trying to picture his delicious face in her mind. So what if she messed up his nose a little bit? That was her own personal touch. Love had been forbidden for the jedi way of life, but she was no longer a jedi. ¡°I sense a connection between us,¡± said Darth Burai, sending off a Super TrooperTM to fetch a new lightsaber. ¡°The force is strong with you.¡± ¡°So, when do we kill Darth Vaita?¡± asked Adala, wanting to seek revenge. ¡°Patience, grasshopper,¡± Darth Burai replied. He had learned the phrase in a book entitled How to Sound Like an Epic Professional Force Master. ¡°So I¡¯m a grasshopper,¡± she chuckled. ¡°Then what would you be?¡± He had to stop and think about that for a moment. ¡°Um¡ a bigger grasshopper? Adala giggled. ¡°You¡¯re so adorable!¡± Darth Burai blushed. This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source. ¡°Isn¡¯t this much better than the jedis?¡± he asked. ¡°Your pathetic friends don¡¯t know what they¡¯re missing.¡± ¡°Obviously not.¡± Clutching the lightsaber, she dramatically rolled her wrist. ¡°I never knew that I could be so happy.¡± Darth Burai smiled evilly. The plan was slowly falling into place. ¡°Shall we train? I assume you haven¡¯t utilized a double blade before,¡± he said, watching as Adala carefully unsheathed two orange blades. ¡°No! Why would I have-OH MY GOSH IT¡¯S ORANGE!!1!!!!¡± Adala exclaimed. ¡°Orange is totally my color! Doesn¡¯t it match my hair and skin tone perfectly?¡± ¡°Um,¡± Darth Burai replied. How did you pronounce !!1!!!! out loud? he wanted to ask, but decided against it. ¡°Come on, let¡¯s get started!¡± she exclaimed, turning the lightsaber on again. The two plasma ends flared out. ¡°Careful, you¡¯ll hurt yourself!¡± Darth Burai exclaimed. What¡¯s going on? he thought. I¡¯m acting like an overprotective parent. ¡°Don¡¯t be so paranoid. I¡¯m fine!¡± Adala taunted, swinging the lightsaber so wildly that it came mere centimeters from Darth Burai¡¯s face. He force pushed her backwards. ¡°Never feel shy of using the force push. It¡¯s a more than adequate offensive and defensive strategy,¡± taught Darth Burai. Adala smirked as she force pushed him backwards. ¡°Don¡¯t shy away from the blades. Arms and fingers are disposable. It¡¯s more important that you win your fight, rather than be too cautious about your appendages,¡± warned Darth Burai. Adala viciously struck him with a few twists and turns of her lightsaber. Darth Burai counterattacked her and sent her into a rage of swings. ¡°Good. You¡¯re using your frustration to fuel your power,¡± he said evilly. Adala sliced and slashed but Darth Burai kept blocking her hits. He suddenly knocked her to the ground. ¡°Ahg,¡± Adala cried out as she tumbled backwards. Darth Burai crouched down besides her. ¡°This is an extremely vulnerable position. You¡¯ve bested me in it once before. Surprise me,¡± he said, charmingly. Adala leaned forwards and pecked him on the cheek. Taken aback, Adala saw the perfect opportunity to strike. She kicked him in the chest this time, careful not to damage his vulnerable nose again. ¡°Surprised enough?¡± smirked Adala, getting up and leaving the room. Darth Burai sighed. If there was such thing as a soulmate, he had found it. Chapter 21 ¡°Excellent,¡± said Darth Vaita as Jue threw down the angsty teenager before her. ¡°You have done well.¡± ¡°We actually tracked down a second jedi,¡± said Skoti proudly, keeping the Twi`lek in handcuffs. ¡°We used a force neutralizer, she should be ready for transport.¡± Darth Vaita¡¯s face grew eviler. ¡°Good. GOOD,¡± she cackled. ¡°With these two captured, and Darth Burai taking care of the third, we should be good to go.¡± Jue and Skoti bowed down before Darth Vaita. ¡°May we be dismissed?¡± asked Skoti, wanting to negotiate the best price for the Twi`lek before Jue could. Darth Vaita craned her neck. ¡°I suppose. Don¡¯t fail me this time,¡± she said forewarning them. Jue and Skoti nodded their heads. The Twi''lek watched in horror as she was brought back aboard the bounty ship to be sold off. ¡°So,¡± said Darth Vaita. The girl stood up from the floor. ¡°What do you want with me,¡± said the girl, shivering. ¡°Calm down, Karis,¡± said Darth Vaita in a soothing voice. Karis, terrified, stopped shivering. ¡°You didn¡¯t answer my question,¡± said Karis defiantly. Darth Vaita smiled. ¡°You have great potential Karis. More than that of any other force sensitive being I¡¯ve come across,¡± said Darth Vaita. ¡°I want to see just how powerful you really are.¡± Darth Vaita clapped. Master Turi was brought in by two Super TroopersTM. ¡°Normally I wouldn¡¯t do this, but I feel like you¡¯ve earned it,¡± started Darth Vaita. ¡°I-i don¡¯t know what you mean,¡± stated Karis, looking at Master Turi¡¯s pain filled eyes. This was the jedi who betrayed them. Betrayed the entire Jedi Ascendancy. She issued the order that made them exiles. She wanted to eradicate all the jedi. ¡°I know you¡¯re angry at her, Karis,¡± said Darth Vaita. ¡°I mean, who wouldn¡¯t be. She killed your master.¡± Karis felt a surge of anger rush through her. ¡°Good. Use your anger. Use it to fuel you. Embrace it,¡± Darth Vaita hissed. Karis looked down at the defenseless Turi. It was almost too easy. Karis raised her lightsaber. Turi¡¯s face looked at her with fear. Karis was reminded of the look that Sel had right before he died. Life was so fragile, it could end with the swipe of a hand. She could get revenge for her master¡¯s death. But it didn¡¯t seem natural. People couldn¡¯t be replaced, for no people are completely equal to each other. Karis¡¯s mind flashed back to the time when she and Adala met Darth Burai. She was filled with a similar emotion, but this was different. Darth Vaita was tempting her to the Dark side. She must resist her temptations to end Turi once and for all. ¡°No,¡± said Karis sternly. ¡°I won¡¯t do it.¡± Darth Vaita¡¯s face fell. ¡°Do it,¡± she growled. Karis tossed her lightsaber aside. Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit. ¡°No,¡± she said defiantly. ¡°I won¡¯t be tempted by your offer.¡± ¡°Karis, may I remind you it was her who gave you an abusive master?¡± snarled Darth Vaita. ¡°Adala wasn¡¯t abusive, just strict,¡± stated Karis, confused. ¡°Do strict masters stab their padawans during a fight?¡± Darth Vaita knew she was pulling at Karis¡¯s weak spots. ¡°That was my own fault, I was too slow-¡± ¡°That''s what she wants you to think. That¡¯s what you¡¯ve been trained to think. You¡¯re better than this, Karis, I can sense it.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t know¡¡± Karis replied. ¡°Am I really that powerful?¡± ¡°That¡¯s up to you,¡± said Darth Vaita. ¡°Your fate lies in your own hands and what you choose to do with them.¡± Karis looked down at her hands. Flashes of her Wookieepedia article flooded her mind. Yet, Turi killed her master. Turi sold them out. ¡°I¡¯ll do it,¡± said Karis strongly, positioning herself in front of Turi. ¡°Yes, YES!¡± cackled Darth Vaita. ¡°Your hatred is strong!¡± Karis looked Turi in the face. She couldn¡¯t back down now. ¡°Go on. Kill her,¡± hissed Darth Vaita. Karis took out her lightsaber. The blade pulsated with energy. The same blade that had killed Sel. The hatred flowing through Karis¡¯s mind was slowly taking control. She knew what she had to do. Karis tossed the lightsaber into the air and stuck her hands in front of the blade. It spun and came down, slicing Karis¡¯s hands off. ¡°NO!!!!!! KILL HER!!!!!¡± screamed Darth Vaita. ¡°I CAN¡¯T! I DON¡¯T HAVE ANY HANDS!¡± Karis yelled back at her in agony. She watched as Darth Vaita picked up her severed hands and chucked them at her. ¡°YOU WERE SO CLOSE! SO CLOSE!¡± yelled Darth Vaita in anger. She started electrocuting Karis with her lightning hands. Karis screamed in agony, as Darth Vaita walked closer to her. ¡°You¡¯ve still got some evil in you. I know it to be true. Oh, and guess what? Adala¡¯s still alive,¡± sneered Darth Vaita. Karis¡¯s face went pale. She had almost killed Turi over the death of her master that wasn¡¯t even dead. Darth Vaita started cackling maniacally. Suddenly, a bright light shone around Darth Vaita as she was lifted into the air. ¡°You can¡¯t escape the Dark Side,¡± yelled Darth Vaita before she disintegrated into a puff of smoke. Karis¡¯s eyes bugged out. ¡°What happened?¡± she said out loud. ¡°Reverted to dust, her body was. Needed a new power supply, the force contained within her did. Too powerful, she was,¡± said Turi, staring at Karis. Master Turi closed her eyes. ¡°A disturbance in the force, I sense. Altered, the future has been,¡± she said, with a pained look on her face.¡± ¡°The future was altered?¡± said Karis, putting her stumps up to her face. ¡°Revoked, the prophecy has been?¡± said Turi, her ears perking up. ¡°Prosper, the jedi must!¡± ¡°What?¡± asked Karis. ¡°I don¡¯t understand. Didn¡¯t you want to kill the jedi?¡± ¡°The future I tried to alter. Convert to Dark side, you were supposed to. Convert the rest, you were supposed to. I did not want that to happen,¡± stated Turi. ¡°You were trying to protect us from the Dark Side by killing us off?¡± said Karis, shocked. ¡°Is the Dark Side really worse that death?¡± ¡°Much chaos, there would have been. Millions dead, because of you,¡± said Turi, sadly. Karis thought back to her Wookieepedia article. ¡°Darth Sirak¡¡± Karis trailed off. ¡°Killed millions.¡± Karis shook her head. ¡°But that won¡¯t happen now, will it?¡± she asked Turi, hopefully. Turi sighed. ¡°By you? No. But there is another,¡± said Master Turi in shame. ¡°Take your place, she might.¡± Karis could tell by Turi¡¯s tone it was urgent they stop whoever it was that would fulfill Karis¡¯s place. ¡°Get you new hands, we shall,¡± said Turi, leading Karis out of the room. ¡°A noble sacrifice, it was.¡± Karis smiled. Her future really was in her own hands. Chapter 22 Vori docked Sel¡¯s ship and spent no time looking for a Super TrooperTM costume to wear. ¡°You¡¯re under arrest-¡± started a Super TrooperTM before Vori knocked him out using the force. This was no time to take extra precautions. Adala needed saving. Vori noticed a trend of familiar hallways as she walked through the bigger ship, leading her towards the old meeting room. Vori groaned. This was the last place she wanted to be in. But, if Adala was here, Vori had to go save her. When Vori opened the door, she saw none other than General Var was sitting on top of a newly polished decorative table and chairs, pulling on the pendant of a tracking device necklace around her neck. Vori let out a frustrated sigh. ¡°What, you don¡¯t like my interior decorating skills?¡± said General Var in a mocking voice. ¡°Perhaps I¡¯ll fix it all nice for you. They¡¯re all holograms, after all.¡± General Var switched the scenery to marble tables and chairs. ¡°The basic table structures are here, yet I can change what the room looks like,¡± said Var, smiling evilly. ¡°And check this out.¡± A replica of General Var appeared besides her. Vori groaned. It was an identical copy. ¡°Oh but don¡¯t worry. They can¡¯t hurt you. Good luck,¡± sneered General Var, creating four more holograms of herself. Vori drew Adala¡¯s lightsaber and struck one of the holograms. The lightsaber went straight through it. ¡°Come on!¡± complained Vori, slicing through two more of them. General Var tried her hardest to keep a neutral expression, but a small smirk let out. Vori picked up on it and moved in to attack. She swung the lightsaber at General Var, who pushed it aside with her own and struck her backwards with her foot. ¡°Uhg,¡± said Vori, stumbling backwards. She attempted to fend off General Var twice before realizing it was another hologram. Without the holograms, General Var would be a weak target. Vori noticed a small panel on the table where General Var had used to control some of the holograms. Vori spun around and kicked a hologram in the chest, and ended up stumbling forwards because of lack of contact. General Var laughed. ¡°Seems like you¡¯ve been outnumbered,¡± she giggled, stabbing at Vori. Vori force pushed Var backwards and sprinted for the control panel. ¡°NO!¡± yelled General Var as Vori stabbed the lightsaber into the panel. Suddenly the room changed from the elaborate interior decoration to a bland, office-like complexion. ¡°You¡¯re ruining everything!¡±The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. ¡°Your problems don¡¯t lie with your technique. You just have a lack of skill,¡± said Vori smugly, looking Var in the eyes. ¡°Now tell me, where is Adala?¡± General Var smiled. ¡°Oh, I can¡¯t tell you that. But I know someone who can. Come,¡± said General Var, clapping. Suddenly a small figure appeared. The same figure Vori had seen her vision through earlier. ¡°Lada, can you tell your old master where Adala is?¡± Lada stared at Vori coldly. No thought Vori, not again. ¡°She¡¯s on our side now,¡± said Lada, sternly. ¡°The good side.¡± ¡°Lada, you¡¯re making a mistake. This isn¡¯t the good side,¡± started Vori. ¡°At least they care for me here,¡± said Lada. ¡°You left me to die in the jedi temple. I had severe internal bleeding. All so you could save Karis.¡± Vori¡¯s heart ached. ¡°Lada, it wasn¡¯t like that,¡± she pleaded. ¡°It was exactly like that,¡± said Lada, darkly. Vori felt tears welling up in her eyes. Var had taken everything from her. First Leeta, then her lightsaber, and now her second padawan, Lada. ¡°The plan is perfect. Turn Adala to the dark side by charming her with a handsome young sith, use Karis as a weapon to destroy the jedi, and use you as a means to train my padawans for me. You practically set it all up for me, Vori. You¡¯re a good teacher, yet you don¡¯t respect your students,¡± sneered Var. ¡°And after Burai and Adala kill Vaita, who will they look up to as their new leader? Their financial adviser and head of the Super TroopersTM, me.¡± ¡°Why, you!¡± yelled Vori as she leapt at General Var. Suddenly, Vori became force frozen in the air. Vori heard someone clapping their hands. ¡°Well done,¡± said General Var, smiling at Vori with her arms crossed. Leeta walked out from behind Vori. ¡°I¡¯ve always wanted to see this day. Look at you. Completely defenseless. It¡¯s three to one, Vori. No matter how much skill you have, you can¡¯t beat the odds.¡± Vori looked down at the ground. This was it, she thought. ¡°Well, Leeta, I feel like you should have the honors. Please, kill her,¡± said General Var. Leeta looked Vori in the eyes. Vori sensed a great sadness going through her. ¡°Well, isn¡¯t someone going to die here? Go ahead, get it done with!¡± said General Var, agitated. Leeta took a deep breath in. ¡°Master, I can¡¯t kill her. Yes, I despise her, but we have so many memories of training. We had such a close bond, I can¡¯t break it here and now. This just isn¡¯t right,¡± said Leeta. ¡°Kill her, you weakling,¡± said Var, gritting her teeth. ¡°That¡¯s it, I don¡¯t need you. Lada-¡± a red lightsaber stabbed right through General Var¡¯s chest. Leeta looked Vori in the eyes. ¡°You owe me one,¡± she said. ¡°Run, while you still have the chance. Never come back.¡± Chapter 23 Adala ran her hand through Burai¡¯s soft hair and ruffled it. Suddenly, a Super TrooperTM rushed into the training room. He saluted them. ¡°My lord, Darth Vaita is¡.gone¡.¡± he said, exasperated from sprinting all the way up the stairs. Darth Burai stood up. ¡°What do you mean, gone?¡± he said angrily. ¡°Well, sir, she¡¯s ceased to exist. In this state, at least,¡± said the Super TrooperTM, sketchily taking a jar from behind his back. ¡°We collected this from her spontaneous combustion site.¡± Adala felt a sudden emptiness inside her. All her training with Burai up to this point had been to condition her to kill Darth Vaita. The whole reason she turned was to kill Vaita. The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement. ¡°Burai¡.I¡¯ve been thinking. Now that Vaita¡¯s gone, there¡¯s not really a reason for me to continue my training,¡± she said. Darth Burai had a hurt look on his face. ¡°I thought spending time with me was better than killing Darth Vaita,¡± said Darth Burai, sadly. Adala froze. At the end of the day, her reasons for training actually had very little to do with Darth Vaita, and everything to do with Darth Burai. ¡°Did I say it wasn¡¯t?¡± she asked playfully, pushing his arm. He smiled. ¡°So shall we continue to train together?¡± ¡°Only if you think I¡¯m good enough to join you in galactic conquest,¡± Adala joked. ¡°Hey, I can¡¯t conquer the galaxy without support from you,¡± he smiled. Adala smirked. ¡°Together, we shall rule the galaxy!¡± Epilogue 50 years later Tama sat down after a long day of working. The bounty hunters had taken her to a remote region of the galaxy to be sold on the black market. She sighed as she looked up at the stars outside her hut. For years she had awaited her friends to return, to come get her. For even anyone to come get her. But as each year passed, her hopes of getting off this planet fell. Ships came and went, but none of them carried a familiar face. If her friends were to rescue her, they would have done it by now. Tama couldn¡¯t decide which was worse: assuming they were all dead, or had forgotten about her. It bore holes in her hearts to have to compare her friends abandoning her to the feeling that they died, but Tama had lived the last end of her life in isolation from them. My Wookieepedia article was right, thought Tama. I did disappear. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.
