《Peace In Violence》


 Blonde

    The rain was about to fall, he could feel it in his bones and because the air around him began to get cold and he started to shiver receiving no help from the thin clothes he was wearing, he looked around and ran his hands up and down his arms to try and get warmer, but it really didn''t do much, so he decided he was going to try his best to ignore it and return to searching the bins for his breakfast.


    It took quite a while of him searching through bin after bin to find something, it was a sandwich that was still in it''s wrapper which was open but it was something, he checked it and saw that someone had taken one bite out of it, maybe they didn''t like how it tasted, he shrugged and stuck it in his jacket pocket to eat it when he returned to the bridge.


    He continued his search and smiled when he found a carton with juice in it, he checked to see it was a few days old but he was content, it would be the first thing he had eaten in maybe three or four days, he searched a bit more and when he didn''t find anything else he decided to make his way to his "home" as he liked to call it, it was just a bridge but he stayed there the longest out of all the places he lived because he would always be chased.


    He shook his head and got on his way, he used the alleys as best as he could to stay out of sight, because if he was seen he would be taken by police and sent to an orphanage and he had no desire to go there, after he had heard awful stories about the place from an old lady he used to share an alley with until one day she just stopped coming and to be safe he changed his location.


    He finally reached his bridge going under just as the rain poured down, he felt satisfied with himself because if he had been caught in the rain, it would have been trouble for him, he would have either had to take it off and wait in the nude for it to dry or stay in his wet clothes and probably freeze his skin off, he shook the thought out of his head and took a seat on a cardboard he had on the ground, he pulled out the juice carton opening it to take a sip, it was a bit sour but he had drunk worse so he shrugged it off.Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.


    He bit into the sandwich and tried not to spit it out, he knew it had chicken in it but the problem was the weird sauce that was on it, he shivered in disgust but eat it none the less, he had no idea when he would be able to eat again, he moved onto the juice guzzling it down and before he knew it the carton was empty and he was sinking down on the cardboard so he could slip into sleep, his eyes closed and he fell into a dreamless slumber.


    He was awoken by the sound of a loud thud, his eyes flashed open and he looked around to see no one but then the sound came again this time even harder and he looked up, someone was on the old bridge, he had no idea what they were doing but it couldn''t have been anything good, he got to his feet and moved from under the bridge in fear that it might collapse on top of him.


    He slowly moved up the side of the slope and peeped on the bridge to see a group of five boys surrounding another, the boy in the middle had a blonde buzz cut with a strange design at the back of his head, grey eyes that flashed dangerously and he was covered in bruises but he didn''t look as bad as the other boys, he watched as the blonde grabbed one of the boys that moved to attack him by the front of their shirt bringing his knee up into the boys stomach and when he went down he kicked his head sending him to the side and watched as he collapsed into a crumpled mess.


    His eyes widened and his curiosity peeked as he watched the blonde move around beating up all of the other guys barely getting hit twice but staying on his feet, when he was finished he stooped down in front of one of the boys and said something before spitting on him, the blonde reached out and picked up a bag before heading off the bridge and the boys eyes widened as he realized the blonde might see him so he scrambled down the slope and under the bridge.


    He held his chest and closed his eyes staying as quiet as he can fearing that if the blonde saw him he would beat him up too and he was too skinny to try and take a beating, he listened for anymore sounds but when he heard nothing he opened his eyes only to let out a loud scream when he saw the blonde stooping down in front of him with a smirk on his face.

 Invitation

    He looked at him surprised when the blonde placed his hand over his mouth and made a sign for him to be quiet "there''s no need for that, I''m not going to hurt you." he was skeptical of that remembering how badly he had beaten the other boys, he watched as the blonde rolled his eyes "don''t look at me like that, they attacked me first so I defended myself, don''t judge me as if you know the full story when you weren''t even there."


    He felt bad when he heard the hurt in the blonde''s voice, he must have had people judge him a lot and he could relate to that, so he moved to say sorry but forgot the blonde had his hand over his mouth, he tapped his hand and it was the blonde''s turn to give him a skeptical look before he slowly removed his hand.


    "I''m sorry, I didn''t mean to hurt you."


    The blonde''s eyes widened and he jumped up to his feet moving away from him "don''t apologize, you didn''t hurt me."


    He could see the blonde shifting on his feet and decided not to push the matter as he stood up, he moved to brush off his clothes but only got wet mud on his hands, then was when he realised his clothes had been soaked and he had mud on them, he sighed and moved to the opposite side of the bridge from the blonde so he could was his hands.


    "What''s your name?" the sudden question after a long period of silence startled him and it took him a minute to get his bearings before he answered.


    "Kaleo.. my name is Kaleo, what''s yours?" he asked as he moved from the end of the bridge to go lean on the cold wall, the blonde turned around to face him.


    "It''s Koi." the boy spoke quietly as if he was ashamed of his name, Kaleo thought it was weird and kinda cool in a sense.


    "That''s cool."


    The boy huffed and moved over next to him to lean on the wall "stop lying, it''s stupid but your''s is the cool one, it sounds foreign are you a half?"


    Kaleo looked at him strangely and looked away "Maybe, I don''t know." after that the conversation seemed to die out and the two boys stood in silence.


    There was a loud sneeze and Kaleo raised his head to see a startled Koi watching at him "that was loud, I think you caught a cold." he shrugged and looked away from Koi, even if he did, there was nothing he could do but wait it out, he felt a shiver go up his spine and rubbed his hands up and down his arms, he could feel Koi watching him but kept his eyes forward.


    "Do you want to come by me?" he looked at the blonde with an arched brow "don''t give me that look, the rain is pouring, you''re soaked, you''re on the verge of catching a cold and my house is nearby so you could get somewhere warm to stay."


    He felt a bit weird, he had no memory of being in someone''s house so he wouldn''t know how to act or what to do so he came up with the first excuse he could think of "I don''t want to impose." he had heard many people say it to their friends when he was in the ally and now was his chance to use it.


    Koi gave him a look as if he was stupid "Don''t worry about it, it''s impossible to impose on the person that invited you over and also I live alone so it''s no big deal."


    Kaleo felt stupid he tried to come up with a better excuse but nothing came so he sighed and nodded, before he knew it Koi had taken hold of his hand and was pulling him along as he ran from under the bridge and into the rain.


    The rain poured down on them as they ran through a crowd of people with umbrellas who gave them disapproving looks and yelled at them when they bumped into them, he looked at there hands for a second before looking up, they continued to run even going through traffic and dodging cars until they turned into a large building.


    They ran through some people one of them calling Koi by his name but was swiftly ignored, only stopping when they were standing in a large box, that seemed to move when Koi pressed a button, Kaleo felt his body move on his own and was caught by Koi who just looked at him with a smirk on his face.


    They got off the box and walked to the end of the hall, where Koi pulled a key out of his wet pants pocket and stuck it into a key hole, that allowed them to open the door, Kaleo didn''t remember seeing something like this before but felt that it was something normal.


    He followed Koi into a very large room, with a very tall ceiling the room made him feel small, he looked around to see a bed tucked into a corner in the large room, it was big, next to it was a counter with different things scattered all over it, next to the bed there were clothes scattered all over the floor.The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.


    He looked to see a large shelf all the way on the opposite side of the room taking up a whole wall for itself and was covered in books, there were so many that some were piled into high stacks on the floor, next to it was a desk with only a computer on it and a chair and next to that another chair.


    He moved to walk but his foot bumped on something and he looked down to see the floor had risen for the rest of the room but a small section by the door was lower, he looked to see wet sneakers kicked off right on the lower floor and stooped down to take off his worn shoes.


    When his feet were bare he stepped up on the raised floor and moved to follow the wet footprints on the floor, he walked until he reached the bed and turned to see Koi in what appeared to be a small kitchen, the room was even bigger than he first though.


    Across from the kitchen was a table that was really low to the floor with cushions around it and on the wall sat a large TV with a stereo set, a gaming system and a DVD player, he remembered seeing them in stores he would pass by and watch as the people tested them out so he knew what they were for.


    He looked back to where Koi was but was but didn''t see him there so he turned and found himself jumping into the air when he saw Koi standing right behind him with what appeared to be a towel, Koi smirked at him and handed him the towel before pulling him along, they walked just a little away from the bed to a door he hadn''t noticed before.


    Koi opened the door and inside he found a bathroom, the floor was covered in tiles with a drain in the corner of the floor, a bench and a weird contraption on the walls next to it was a tub, and a little bit in the corner was a toilet across from that a sink.


    He turned to look at Koi who pushed him into the room "take a quick shower when you come out I''ll have some clothes for you and then you can wait while I take my shower before we get something to eat."


    Koi turned to leave the room but he grabbed his arm and the stunned blonde turned to watch him with a curious look on his face, Kaleo found himself feeling embarrassed as he pointed to the thing on the wall "what''s that." Koi arched his brow and told him it was a shower "how do I use it?"


    Something seemed to cross the blondes face before he lead him over and quickly showed him how to use it before leaving the bathroom and shutting the door behind him, he sighed as he watched him go before sighing and stripping off his clothes, he dropped them in a basket that was near the door and moved to the thing Koi called a shower.


    He picked up the hose and turned the nozzle watching as the water sprayed out before turning it on himself, he smiled as the warm water engulfed him heating up his freezing body, it felt so good he was making some strange noises as he scrubbed his skin down, he watched the dirt run down his skin and move to the drain, he quickly scrubbed his overly oily hair and then it wasn''t so much black as it was brown.


    He felt as if he over did it so he quickly dried his skin off and wrapped the towel around himself, before slowly pushing the door open, he looked to see Koi walking towards him as he stepped out the bathroom, he just glanced at him without a word as he moved into the bathroom and shut the door behind him.


    Kaleo stared at it for a while and then turned going for the bed, he looked to see a packet that held underwear in it, he opened it and pulled on the stripped material that was soft to the touch and reached his mid tight as it clung to his skin, it felt really good and he smiled.


    He reached for the other clothes, which seemed to be a large grey sweater and loose grey pants, both of them were just as soft as the underwear so he wasted no time in pulling them on, he saw a pair of socks and pulled those on to before returning to drying his hair, as he did he found himself moving across the room the the shelf that was over flowing with books.


    He reached and pulled a random book from the shelf and sat back in the chair that was away from the desk, he slipped the pages skimming over the words, some he could understand but the big ones caught him by surprise.


    He knew how to read, he would swear it by god but it was just that he hadn''t really read anything in a long while, the last time he remembered reading something other than expiry dates stamped on food packets was when he was with the old woman he shared an alley way with, she couldn''t see quiet well but for some reason always had a new book so she would ask him to read to her and he would oblige.


    He remembered her chuckling to herself when he got a word wrong and would ask him to spell it, swiftly correcting him when he did, he thought of her as his mother, but when she vanished he didn''t even feel the need to cry some how he felt accustomed to people leaving him behind even if he had no memory of it or them.


    He was slipping through the book when he heard the door open and looked back to see Koi coming out the bathroom fully dressed with a towel thrown over his head, he was wearing similar clothes to the ones he was wearing, except they seemed to fit him better and he was in all black with his sleeves pulled up to the elbows.


    He got up and put the book where found it and then made his way to the kitchen where he saw Koi standing in front of the counter pouring a delicious smelling stew onto two large bowls of rice, he moved to the small table to sit down when he was told to, he stuck his feet under it and watched as Koi moved around the counter with two trays in his hand, one carrying the two bowls and the other held two glasses with a brown liquid in it.


    Kaleo watched as Koi placed a bowl in front of him along with a glass and handed him a spoon then sat down after placing down his own things and moving the trays to the side, he looked at the dish ans couldn''t help but smile but looked up at Koi who quickly told him it was Oyakodon before digging into his bowl, they both eat and Koi laughed every time Kaleo would make a delighted sound from eating.

 Belong

    It was a strange feeling, having a full stomach a strange feeling that Kaleo was enjoying to the fullest, after eating Koi had cleaned down the table and washed up the dishes and was now sitting at his computer, with a pair of headphones on and typing at an amazing speed.


    Kaleo was curious as to what he was typing but didn''t want to impose more than he felt he already had, he had taken a bath in Koi''s home, was wearing his clothes and had eaten his food so now he just sat across from where he was typing away with a book in his hand trying to read it.


    It was proving too difficult of a task but that would be expected of what he found out was a science text book, he wondered if Koi was in school still and if he was doing a science course, but then again he say text books from a lot of different subjects all ranging from different levels, so you couldn''t be sure what exactly Koi had been using.


    Kaleo got up and moved to the shelf placing the book back where he found it, he searched the shelves and found a very thin book, he flipped through it and saw funny pictures, one of them had a fox or maybe a wolf sitting in a bed with a large tummy, he felt as if he had seen the picture before but brushed it off and went back to his chair to read it.


    The book had simple words that he could understand and thus he enjoyed the book, after he was finished he moved on to a similar book and soon he was sitting down reading with a stack of thin books next to him feeling completely at home, he heard the typing come to a stop and looked up to see Koi walking quickly to the bathroom.


    A few minutes later he came out and went to the kitchen, then returning with two cans of soda, he handed one to Kaleo and then returned to his chair, dawning his head phones and returning to typing at an alarming speed, Keleo looked down at the thin, he had seen them in the dumpsters and bins he had searched but they were always open and empty, so he had no idea how to open it.


    He placed it down and returned to his books, not even noticing when Koi was by his side opening the can until the drink made a weird sound and he jumped looking at the blonde with wide eyes, Koi rolled his eyes and handed him the can before returning to his work, he stared at him for a fe minutes before looking down at the can, he twisted it and took a sip from the opening his eyes widening at the taste of sweet orange.


    It was new to him, he was accustomed to sour orange, so he found himself guzzling it down and then coughing when it fizzed in his throat, he was surprised but still wanted to drink it, so he sipped it instead and found that it was more enjoyable that way.


    He hadn''t noticed the setting of the sun but he did notice that there were no more thin books, he had read them too fast and now they were stuck in his memory so rereading them would not be enjoyable, he sighed to himself but quickly put the books back on their shelves.


    He looked through all the thick books and pulled out one that only had photo''s in them, some of bridges, buildings people, and they all had one signature underneath it, so they were most likely taken by the same person, before he could return to his chair with the book it had been pulled from his grasp by a frowning Koi.


    He placed it back on the shelf "you can read any book but the one''s on this shelf, their all first editions or sole copies, very rare, very valuable and very fragile, so don''t touch them."


    Kaleo felt as if he had been scolded so he lowered his head and nodded, it was a strange reaction but once again he felt as if it were a common reaction for him, when nothing happened he looked up to see Koi staring at him with a questioning look, before he pulled out a book from a different shelf and handed it to him.


    He said nothing just returned to his desk and resumed whatever he was doing, Kaleo looked down at the book and flipped the pages, it had what appeared to be drawings of people and they were doing different things while communicating with each other he could pronounce some of the words but it was still enjoyable, manga he remembered someone calling it, he moved to his corner and resumed reading.

    He woke with the sun in his face, this was common for him so instead of getting up he turned his back to it only to bump into something, he though it might be a dog, they often found themselves next to him at night when he slept under the bridge to get some resemble of warmth.


    But this had to be the largest dog he had ever slept next to and the fur was too smooth, his brown eyes flashed open to see he was facing a bare chest with pale skin, his eyes traveled up to see Koi''s sleeping face, his lips were slightly parted as he breathed through them.If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen.     Kaleo''s eyes opened wide and he sat up quickly, causing Koi to stir and turn so his back was to him, he could feel heat as it moved up his face and decided to get out the bed he had no idea how he had gotten into in the first place, he looked down to see he was fully clothed, where as Koi was only in a pair of blue boxers as he slept comfortably.


    He looked out the windows that went half way cross the wall he was standing next to, the sun was high in the sky, so he looked at the clock and it said ten thirty one am, this is the first time he had slept this late maybe once in awhile he would sleep till seven but he usually up before the sun so he could get a head start on getting something to eat.


    He sighed and looked around the room this was a different world than he was accustomed to, he didn''t belong here, he was out of place here, Koi was born for this kind of thing, but he was born to live under a bridge maybe not his entire life, but for now that was his destiny.


    He went to the bathroom to look for his clothes, but they were gone he checked around the apartment and there was no sign of them, so he just slipped on his worn shoes and opened the door, he pulled it in behind him and headed to the metal box, he pressed the button but it didn''t appear to be working so he looked around and found a door that lead to stairs.


    It didn''t take him long to make his way out of the building, his legs had adapted to him walking for hours so the stair were no problem, he walked down the road with his head down and headed back to his bridge, he was glad to see it wasn''t occupied and that his cardboard was still in place even though it was still wet, he moved to stoop down as to not wet the clothes, he would make them last long as a thank you to Koi for helping him.


    He just sat in silence remembering everything, that was the most peaceful night he had experienced in a long time, but if he had stayed any longer he would just be bothering Koi, and he didn''t want that, he sat in silence, content with the way things were.


    Hours had passed and he had been for a walk, he returned a little into the afternoon and his eyes widened when he saw someone leaning against the wall under the bridge, he thought it was another homeless person come to take his place and he would need to defend it so he puffed out his chest as much as he could and made his way over to the bridge.


    He opened his mouth to talk to the person when they turned and looked at him making his chest deflate immediately, Koi walked from under the bridge, with his grey eyes shooting daggers as he held a frown on his face, Kaleo stepped back feeling a bit frightened by the look he got.


    "Din''t I tell you to stop looking at me like that, I have zero interest in beating you up, it would be like a bear beating down an ant." Kaleo relaxed and just stared at the blonde waiting on him to speak "I woke up and you were gone, so I thought you might be here but ended up waiting on you for a good three hours, what happened, why did you leave?"


    Kaleo sighed and walked past Koi going under his bridge to sit down on his now dried cardboard, he ran his hand through his hair "I didn''t want to bother you more than I already had so I decided to leave, plus I didn''t belong some where like that, I belong under this bridge so here I will stay."


    He looked up at Koi who rolled his eyes as he folded his arms over his chest "wow I never thought it was possible to hear so much bullshit come out of a persons mouth, but you sure proved me wrong." Kaleo felt his mouth drop open as his eyes widened "you look stupid and what you just said was also very stupid."


    "Like I said before, maybe in a different context but I''m pretty sure I told you that it''s impossible to bother someone who invited you into their home, and that nonsense you just said about not belonging, it''s shit everyone belongs in a home whether their own or someone else''s, so stop spewing bull shit."


    Koi walked over to him and dropped down next to him on the cardboard, "also when I invited you over it wasn''t all because I was trying to be nice, I had wanted to cook something and eat it with my sister but she cancelled so when I saw you I decided that at least I could eat with someone, that room is just too big for one person, it''s too empty."


    Kaleo looked at him and smiled, Koi rolled his eyes before returning it "anyways get up, I''m hungry and I need to eat something before my classes, so stop being so depressing and follow me mister I don''t belong." he closed of the sentence in a mocking tone that had Kaleo pouting the whole way to the restaurant.


    They had ordered and waited for their meal before scarfing it down, Kaleo watched as Koi paid before they got up and headed out with him walking a bit behind the blonde, they returned to his apartment, and he sat down watching as Koi went for a quick shower then came out and changed his clothing.


    He pulled on a black shirt and buttoned it all the way up, then pulled on black fitted jeans, he sat silently and continued to watch him pick up a bag and pack it with books and other things, then he picked up another bag and put a laptop in it along with other electronics, the pulled a badge off the bed head and put it around his neck.


    He watched him move to the door with a pair of red boots in his hands and slipp them on in the lowered floor, when he was finished he looked up at him with a smile "alright I''m off, I''ll be back pretty late, got about four classes, there''s food in the fridge, you can heat it up, if not there''s a phone in the corner there." he pointed and for the first time Kaleo noticed a black phone sitting on the floor in the corner of the room.


    "Just call me on it, my cell phone number is pasted on the back and I''ll tell you how to use it or just order something for you, you can go to my counter the top draw has recently bought underwear you can use those and wear anything you want." he watched as he looked down at his phone before looking back at him "okay take car i''m off." and with that Koi was out the door and Kaleo turned to the shelf that was over flowing with books.

 Day Out

    Some time had passed and Kaleo had gotten very accustomed to his new routine, wake up every morning and sit on the bed as he watched Koi prepare for his classes, then eat whatever he made for breakfast and then wish him a good day as he left, take a shower and spend the rest of the day trying to read and eating whatever he felt like, his new favorite food was fried noodles, he had it almost everyday with different types of chicken. After that he would wait on Koi to return or just go to sleep and wake up later to the sound of Koi snoring lightly next to him.


    His life was the most peaceful he had ever remembered it being, one time he caught himself wondering what his life was like before he ended up on the streets, but stopped when he felt a pain in his chest, he had no memory of it but from the reaction he guessed it must have been really bad, so he directed his mind back to his current state and felt so much better.


    His mind was brought back to the present when he felt someone pat his arm and looked up to see Koi sitting across from him, his eyes were locked on his own but as usual his face was blank, that was something he learned about his landlord, he either showed immense emotion on his face or nothing at all, you couldn''t even read what was going through his mind by watching his eyes.


    Kaleo smiled at him and he nodded to his now empty bowl, without saying a word he handed it over and watched as Koi got up to place the dishes in the sink, he came back with a cloth and wiped down the table before heading back to the kitchen where he began to clean up what was left of their lunch, Kaleo got up and went to the counter watching Koi as he moved silently around the kitchen, he was focused on what he was doing.


    It didn''t take long for him to finish and then move to the fridge and pull out two cans of soda handing one to Kaleo, he guzzled down his own and threw away the can before following Koi to the library, where he sat at his computer typing something very quickly, Kaleo looked at the books again, he had read all of the simpler books and was struggling through one of the difficult ones, he had no interest in it so he decided to watch Koi.


    He moved to sit down but stopped when Koi turned to face him, he found himself tilting his head, it seemed weird but for some reason he found himself doing it when he spoke to Koi, he focused back on Koi just as he spoke "you wanna go somewhere?" he gave him a questioning look "I have to get a few things and I also figured that you might wanna go too, after being stuck in here for nearly two weeks with nothing much to do."


    Kaleo nodded and smiled "Yeah, I do."


    He watched as Koi nodded and stood up "alright I''ll get something for you to wear and then we can go and I was thinking to buy you your own clothes seeing that mine is a little too big for you." he nodded and Koi turned and walked to the closet, he watched as he pulled out a pair of grey sweat pants, a yellow vest and a long sleeved white t shirt "these should fit you and you can borrow one of my jackets too... if you want."


    Kaleo smiled at him and walked over to collect the clothes, Koi handed them over and then returned to the closet to get something for himself to wear, no longer paying attention to Kaleo who made his way to the bathroom to quickly change, the clothes weren''t too baggy nor were they tight so he went back out, just as Koi was pulling on a short sleeved black t to go with the dark grey track pants that hugged his legs.


    He walked over to the closet only to be handed a pair of white sneakers "they should fit you." koi mumbled before pulling out a pair for himself and heading to the door to throw on a blue jacket, he searched his pockets and went back into the apartment leaving Kaleo to pull on the sneakers, Koi came back a few minutes later "forgot my wallet and keys."


    He handed Kaleo a grey jacket and pulled on his sneakers before leading both of them out of the apartment and closing it in behind him, they walked in silence as they made their way to the elevator and remained that way all the way down and out of the building, Kaleo stopped when he reached the exit and looked at Koi who nodded in the direction they were supposed to head in.


    For some reason most of the people were going the other way and he was having a hard time getting through them and his body weight wasn''t making it any easier he was about to say something when Koi just grabbed his wrist and pulled him next to him, he looked over him before continuing to walk, Kaleo found himself staring down at the hand that was still clasped around his, he looked up at Koi who continued to walk and didn''t look as if he was going to let go anytime soon.If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent.     He knew they had been walking a long time before they reached the first store, he looked around to see it was selling electronics, he stared at a large TV that was across from the entrance it was big but not as big as the one Koi had at his apartment, Koi still didn''t let go of his hand even as they made their way over to where phones were displayed, he tilted his head in question, he knew koi had two phones one that had a key pad and the other that had a touch screen, so he wondered why he would buy another, maybe it broke or something.


    Koi finally let go of his hand as he moved through the display counters, he stopped in front of one that looked similar to the one he had and started to talk about it with a woman that nodded along with somethings that he said before smiling, his eyes followed the woman as she disappeared behind a counter and then came out back with a box and opened it showing Koi the exact phone.


    Kaleo was stunned for a minute, he could still see the first phone in the case, but the woman also had it in the box, he felt a headache coming on before something clicked in his mind, they made copies of the same phone, that would be the only way to explain it, he suddenly felt a bit stupid, how could he not figure out something so obvious, he knew he had only been off the road for less than two weeks but something like that should have been common sense.


    He was too busy beating himself up to notice Koi had already finished fixing the phone the way he wanted it and also getting the necessary so the phone would work right away, he punched a number in the memory and tagged his name on it, then made his way over to where he had left Kaleo he felt a bit of panic when he didn''t see him right away only to let out a sigh when he noticed him stooping down in front of one of the cases with his face buried between his knees.


    He was a bit worried but brushed it off and tapped Kaleo on his arm, Kaleo jumped and looked up at him with wide eyes, Koi wanted to laugh but held it back, somthing was bothering him enough that he didn''t even pay attention to his surroundings, he shook his head and took him by the wrist to pull him to his feet.


    Kaleo looked up at Koi feeling a bit of heat rush to his face from the blank look he was receiving, he knew Koi had seen the way he was acting but wouldn''t give him a reaction he had no idea what he was thinking and that made him even more embarrassed, he followed Koi''s hand as he held the phone towards him "this is yours, in cae we need to contact each other, I just need to put some minutes in it and you should be able to call me right away, I already added my number, it''s on speed dial." he was too stunned to say anything as Koi handed him the phone "let me show you how to put a lock on it."


    He continued staring at Koi as he opened the phone and started going through it, he couldn''t take it, it was too much, first he pulls him out from under a bridge and let him have a hot shower and something to eat, then he insisted on having him live with him, taking care of everything for him and now Koi wanted to give him a phone, one worth way more than his pathetic excuse for a life.


    He opened his mouth to say something but was cut off by Koi "if you''re thinking to refuse it, you can''t, it''s rude to refuse a present and pay attention because now I have to go through the lock for a second time." he shut his mouth and looked at the phone screen following what Koi did to get to the lock section, he couldn''t refuse it, did that mean he was indebted to him?


    He quickly chose his lock to be a word and picked Koi''s name it was short and easy to remember and if he needed help Koi could easily open it for him, when it was done he placed it in his jacket pocket and followed Koi out of the store, he looked back at his wrist which Koi still held onto only letting go when they reached another store, it was a book store that also sold stationary supplies, he followed Koi around as he went through isle after isle pulling out one thick book after the other.


    He even had to carry a few that wee really heavy and made him walk a lot slower, they made it to the counter and the man smiled at them and began to cash everything Koi turned and went back through the isle, he followed again and had to carry a few note books, as he watched him pull out boxes of pens, pencils and other equipment. When they were finished the man had to pack everything into a box and Koi signed for it and then left without the box which made Kaleo confused once again.


    He had seen Koi pull out a huge stack of money and hand it over to the man, so why would he leave without the things he had paid for, he shook his head and looked ahead at Koi, he could ask him later. They made their way into a very large store that had Kaleo staring up at the distant ceiling as Koi pulled him along, he could see the place had many different floors just like where Koi lived, but something told him that people didn''t live here, it couldn''t be, not with all the people he could see bustling around with bags and boxes and the like.


    This was a place where people bought things, it was like a store with stores on the inside, he tilted his head, there had to be a name he knew it, he felt Koi look back at him before he was pulled into a store that smelt of fried chicken, his belly made a weird sound so he jogged up next to Koi when they reached in front of the counter, they were finally going to eat something.
