《Roaming Through The Heavens》 1. Birth Deep in a ravine at the bottom of a silvery sea, a faint red light shone. This light had an exceedingly mysterious aura, as though one¡¯s soul would be stolen by it with one glance, and a bizarrely organic movement, like the flowing of countless strands of hair in a gentle breeze. A small distance away, unnoticeable within the light¡¯s brilliance, lay an elliptical, rainbow-colored egg, approximately the size of the head of an adult human. As the uneventful days passed at the bottom of the ravine, the rainbow-colored egg slowly absorbed small strands of the wavy, red brilliance and with each passing day its many colors slowly morphed to a soft, glowing red that perfectly matched the shade of the emitted light. At the point when the color completely encompassed the egg, it mysteriously aggregated into 30 dark-red, glowing runes that rotated around the surface of the egg, leaving the spaces between the runes with a pure-white appearance. After the time it takes tea to boil passed, one final massive strand of the wavy, red brilliance was absorbed into the egg and gave the runes a push that allowed them to quickly merge into one large, incomplete rune that spanned the entire surface of the egg. This rune¡¯s profoundness was such that despite clearly only being a small fragment of a much greater whole, it had a might was far vaster than the sum of all 30 of its constituent runes and a glow that was blinding to behold. The rune gradually sunk into the egg until its brilliance completely disappeared from the surface, leaving the entire egg pure-white. Then, from the pure-white surface of the egg 30 silvery runes were born, that each gave off the air of a wondrously, beautiful musical note that resounded with the soul rather than with any physical sensation. These runic notes quickly rotated around the surface of the egg, with an ever-increasing speed, blending together into another single, large, incomplete rune that shook the soul with a deafeningly-loud, harmonious, hymn despite its incomplete status. After the time it takes tea to boil passed, it too swiftly sank into the pure-white egg leaving behind a deep spiritual silence. Soon after, the pure-white egg trembled and broke as a magical beast, at last, hatched into the world. Magical beasts are creatures that originate from the essence of the major elemental laws of: fire, water, wind, earth, light, and darkness that form the base of the universe. As such, they are naturally born with differing degrees of mastery towards either major or minor elemental laws but struggle immensely to learn the dao that govern the universe. These dao, of which there are six major dao known as: space, time, destruction, creation, yin, and yang, are conversely much easier for the myriad of other, non-elemental, beings of the universe to grasp. This magical beast was surprisingly born with mastery of 30 of the minor elemental laws under fire that fused into a representation of the mastery of 5% of the major elemental law of fire. Even more surprisingly, the magical beast was born with mastery of 30 of the minor daos under creation that fused into a representation of the mastery of 5% of the major dao of creation. This was not a sign of the birth of a normal magical beast. Only a divine magical beast would be conceived with both a major dao and a major elemental law, for they are natural-born Rulers.A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. Rules are the culmination of the coalescence of a major dao and a major elemental law. They possess mystique far greater than any one major dao or major elemental law. Rules govern esoteric arts and forces like life, death, and scrying. Upon opening her jade green eyes, the divine magical beast carefully moved out of her shell and rapidly devoured its remains. She was a meter long serpent that with a vaguely diamond-shaped head and beautiful, clear, reflective scales that resembled tiny mirrors. She had a distinctly thin, yet sturdy torso and a narrow, whip-like tail. Being a divine beast, she also had inherited memories. These told her three things. That her name was Meihui, that her species name was a Prism Snake, and that the way for her to cultivate was to separate the fire Qi, or energy, out from the Qi of the World as she absorbs it and to circulate it in her body¡¯s core. As she began to absorb and cultivate fire Qi in her core, it became a bronze color indicating that she had reached the first stage of the Houtian realm of cultivation. Immediately upon doing so she felt the major dao of creation and the major elemental law of fire, that she was born with partial mastery over, fuse together within her bronze core to create a new entity entirely, the rule that was her birthright. With great excitement she manipulated her rule for the first time and an incomprehensible, gigantic rune appeared in front of her and shrunk until it dashed between her jade green eyes into the middle of her forehead to create a clear crystal bead. At that moment her entire being knew what the inherited rule of the Prism Snakes were, the rule that combined fire and creation: the rule of evolution. Meihui quickly manipulated her control over the rule of evolution to direct her own growth, sensing her surrounding¡¯s potential in order to determine her best course of action. Her senses vaguely indicated that the red brilliance shining over her environment hid a secret that would greatly benefit her being. Without hesitation she dove towards the red brilliance, fearlessly. She trusted her instincts that told her that its fire Qi was extremely pure, and thus excellent for her cultivation, and more importantly, she trusted her rule that led her in its direction. Her first conscious thought was one of curiosity: I wonder what¡¯s inside that blazing red light? The Houtian realm is the first realm that cultivators enter. It has 9 stages, each with a progressively massive increase in strength and a slight increase in mental ability. Following the Houtian realm is the Xiantian realm, which also has 9 stages. Beings in the Xiantian realm have world-shaking power, as they begin using Qi to form their immortal bodies at that point. If mortal cultivators can: reach the peak of the Xiantian realm; and master 6 minor daos/elemental laws underneath a major dao/elemental law or fuse the 6 into the mastery of 1% of one major dao/elemental law, then they have a chance to break the chains of mortality and complete their immortal bodies, experiencing a qualitative change and transcending beyond the mortal plane. At that point they enter the realm of True Immortals and vanish from the world within 60 days. 2. Red, Brilliant Light? The light seemed to swallow Meihui whole as she disappeared into it without a trace left behind. Within the light, was what appeared to be a whole ''nother universe, a great many magnitudes more humongous than the entirety of Meihui¡¯s entire planet. In this seemingly alternate plane of reality, fires danced in every direction, stretching into an imperceptible infinity. These fires made up the landscape of this Plane. Closest to the doorway, which Meihui found herself lying next to, massive islands of solid-fires burned in a red-tinged void. Far beneath her, she could vaguely see a truly enormous raging whirlpool of fire. Far above her bobbed a vast, majestic sea of stars that burned in every imaginable color. Meihui froze in shock as she halted her cultivation and stared around in wonder with big jade-green eyes. She lay on nothing and merely seemed to levitate in the red-tinged void next to the bright doorway. After a long breadth of time passed, Meihui finally slithered forward through the void towards the nearest island of fire. When she had approached the island by a couple of kilometers she felt herself sucked onto the island¡¯s surface, where she did not burn. The flames felt just as dirt or strands of greenery would feel against her scales. Neither too hot nor too cold but comfortably warm. She enjoyed this sensation of flames on her scales. Thus, being a newborn, she quickly curled up on herself and slept without any worries. Upon waking, Meihui began to cultivate once more and a river of pure fire Qi painfully rushed into her body from the environment and was circulated in her bronze core, allowing Meihui to break through three stages almost instantaneously and reach stage four of the Houtian realm. Hissing in pain, she stopped cultivating as her scales crackled like her body was about to explode. She lay in an exhausted heap on the ground, wearily staring at her environment with fear. She decided to cease cultivation for the duration of her stay in that Plane and turned to slither back to the doorway where it was safe. On her way back, she noticed a patch of flowers dancing in a non-existent breeze. These flowers were exceedingly odd, even to the newly-born Meihui. They were made of a fire that was a kaleidoscope of colors and intermittently shattered into the void before recombining into different floral forms. Meihui used her law of fire to wrap the flowers in the surrounding flames and brought them closer for examination. Even up close and surrounded by the fire in her control, the fire flowers continued to transform. She excitedly devoured the flowers, when her examination revealed them to be safe and her rule of evolution vaguely urged her that they would be good for her health. The fire flowers flooded her body with a sense of strength and she felt a slight sense of building power. She immediately shot back towards the depths of the island of fire, determined to attain more such treasures. It was clear that the Plane hid both benefits and dangers. She was young and eager but cautious all the same. As she rushed forward, she drew up her fire Qi from her bronze core and used the dao of creation to form it into a somewhat spherical red shield, with dim silver runes floating on its surface, that enveloped her body. It was surprising to see how swiftly she moved with her small stature, as she sped along the ground at 96 kilometers per hour. She spotted many more fire flowers as an unknown amount of time passed in that cycle-less Plane but not all of them were as harmless as the first patch that was found. Some flaming plants took on the guise of a flower but would bite at anything that moved with a hidden, giant, flaming maw. Others would shoot out colorful, explosive seeds or launch themselves forward at high speeds like small flaming spears. Thus, Meihui had to constantly remain vigilant as she progressed deeper into the island and picked flowers to consume, with her control over the major law of fire. The fire flowers attacks would harmlessly bounce off her Created shield of fire Qi and she would furiously lash out with her whip-like tail to stun the struggling plants before consuming them whole using her major law of fire. Meihui¡¯s strength steadily increased with every flower and the building sense of power grew stronger as well. Unfortunately, as she progressed deeper into the solid-fire island, the fire flowers became both more bountiful and more aggressive until no ¡°safe¡± fire flowers remained. With her fire Qi and mental energy being more rapidly depleted as time passed, Meihui decided to stop in a clear field of solid-fire, within an enormous natural garden of fire flowers, and rest. I wonder how this place came to be? She mused as she was falling asleep.¡¯ It would be great if I could stay here forever and cultivate peaceably. I wonder if I was left at that place, at the bottom of a ravine, for a reason. Perhaps I was born there so I could enjoy the wonders of this place¡.
Meihui settled down in that area to safely train her combat skills as she picked some fire flowers every day. Though her body was sturdy and flexible, Meihui¡¯s control over it was shabby at best. She relied on brute strength to stun her targets and lashed out her thin tail like a club. She could tell that without her Created shield of fire Qi she would have already sustained countless injuries. As the days passed, she slowly grew from her initial size, of a meter long, and her skillful control over her body improved. She would restrain patches of flowers with fast, lethal bursts of tail-lashes as she zipped around, while also trying to avoid having attacks land on her Created shield of fire Qi. Sometimes she would stop and return to the clear field to recover her stamina and Qi, pondering her movements as she tried to reason out effective strategies of attack. During these times her mind would also wander towards thoughts of her birth: Where are my parents? Why was I born alone? Will I ever meet my family? Do I even have a family...? As she attempted to make sense of her circumstances, she grew angry at the world. Why should she have to suffer the fate of an orphan? Her determination to grow in power rose. Her training process became even harsher. She deluded herself into believing that if she could only ¡°grow-up¡± to be big and strong, she would find out about her parents one day. Meihui even began fantasising about the identities and personalities of her parents as she slept, having delightful dreams of a bonding family to carry with her throughout her lonely days. In her haste to greedily devour even more flowers, she steadily traveled deeper into the solid-fire island, making use of the occasionally clear areas of fire as her resting grounds. One day, as she moved deeper into the solid-fire island as usual, she felt an odd rumbling in the ground underneath her lithe, slithering body and came to an abrupt halt. She wearily scanned her environment but spotted no dangers around. She was not even surrounded by a patch of fire-flowers at that time and nothing but the uniform solid-fire that made up the island could be spotted. Just as Meihui was about to continue on her journey, six large tentacles of shimmering amber flames burst out from the solid-fire beneath her. In an instant, Meihui coiled her, now 2.4 meter long, body and launched herself into the void sky rather than risk being caught by her unknown enemy. As she glared down at the six large, amber-fire tentacles that pursued her into the void sky, she hissed in surprise and curiosity. Each of the tentacles moved in a slightly different manner and carried varying types of forces, as though each was performing a different dance but all were dancing to the same song. It was easily made apparent to Meihui, upon observing this, that each tentacle represented a minor elemental law under fire. Before Meihui could react any further the six tentacles had all surrounded her in midair. Each blasted her with distinct attributes of fire but could not get past her Created shield of fire Qi, that she had long since made a habit of maintaining while traveling. Meihui was thus quickly dragged back to the solid-fire and pummeled on all sides by these six minor fire-law tentacles. Before the tentacles could get past her Created shield of fire Qi, which fluctuated and flashed strongly with its silver runes, Meihui strengthened her shield with more fire Qi from her bronze core and whipped her tail around herself, creating a blur of tails in a dome around her body. The tentacles, when met with these blurs, were easily deflected but not harmed. Thus started the longest fight of Meihui¡¯s short life. Loud banging sounds could be heard as she deflected each of the six tentacles one at a time by relying on her speed to dash around the tentacles¡¯ attacks. Occasional bursts of brilliant fire would come into existence, creating different effects, as the tentacles attacked Meihui, knocking her back and forth within their ring. Sometimes, Meihui would summon her own bursts of fire, using her major elemental law of fire, and though each of her bursts eclipsed the combined might of the six tentacles¡¯ minor laws, they took a large drain on her bronze core¡¯s fire Qi. Other times, Meihui would have a slip in her concentration and all six tentacles would simultaneously attack, forcing her to go on the defensive and rely heavily on her Created shield of fire Qi to protect herself, further draining her bronze core by a large margin. In the end, Meihui was only a fourth stage Houtian realm cultivator and with her energy being so rapidly consumed she was only able to draw out the frenzied battle for about 25 minutes. Knowing that she would soon collapse from exhaustion and seeing that the tentacles had only been reduced in size by about half, Meihui¡¯s jade-green eyes flashed with shrewdness. On a hunch, she avoided the tentacles with a final burst of speed and used her coils to launch herself into the void sky once more. From there, Meihui used the last of her fire Qi to summon a burst of destructive fire and Create a spear from this flame, then using her rule of evolution she hardened the fire spear to be reminiscent of the solid-fire surface of the island. She determinedly fell streaking to the ground like a comet, in moments, and punctured the surface of the island in the center of the tentacles ring with her solid-fire spear, seemingly grown from the crystal bead in the center of her forehead. A small explosion occurred and the six tentacles completely disappeared. From the surface of the island, an amber bead flew out and was caught by Meihui¡¯s tail. She squealed with snakey delight. Her hunch was correct! Those tentacles that had mysteriously arose from the solid-fire surface of the island were the product of yet another treasure! Safe, Meihui finally collapsed with an all encompassing fatigue, sleeping for nearly an entire day to recover. When she awoke, Meihui further examined the amber bead of fire before consuming it at the urging of her faint sense, derived from her rule of evolution. The amber bead surprisingly had more than 100 times the energy contained in one fire-flower and gushed a torrent of strength into her body, increasing her building sense of power by much more. From then on, Meihui decided to hunt for more such amber beads rather than to slowly search for fields of the fire-flowers and carefully progressed to similarly barren areas of solid-fire on the island as she traversed deeper into its depths.Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon. Amber bead after amber bead, Meihui grew stronger as she pushed onwards. At some point, after a countless number of days, the building feeling of power that had accompanied Meihui all this time, as she consumed numerous treasures, finally reached a climax! A supremely ferocious aura, like that of a world-devouring god, suddenly broke out from her body as the power inside of her exploded outwards, meters from her body. It cycled into and out of her flesh in brilliant white rings, whose shine even eclipsed that of the sea of stars far up above in that plane. Meihui writhed and shuddered as she screeched in utmost agony. Each time the rings entered and exited her body, they would refine her flesh, blood, muscles, bones, and organs. This brought forth continuous pains like that of being repeatedly skinned, scoured, and bleached cell by cell. Hours passed as Meihui entered a fugue, lapsing into silence as she convulsed. The rings of light slowly compressed until they rotated near the surface of her reflective scales. With a mighty roar, they were absorbed into Meihui¡¯s body to rotate around her bronze core. As they then began to dive into and out of her bronze core, refining it as well, a new deeper spiritual pain erupted. Meihui awoke with a screech so powerful her throat nearly collapsed. Her scream rose and fell along with the movement of the rings of light. Eventually the white rings of light settled onto the surface of the bronze core like radiant tattoos. They formed a vague image of a ringed world, using the bronze core as the base (or world) and the light as the enveloping rings of that world. Meihui¡¯s desperate screeching finally stopped and she fell into an especially deep, trancelike slumber. Many days would pass before she could awaken. As she peacefully slept, her bronze core sucked in rivers of fire Qi from the environment and her body gradually grew at a visible rate. Millimeter by millimeter her body lengthened with no sign of stopping. As her body grew in size, her reflective scales also seemed to warp, changing into colors that did not match the environment for minutes at a time before returning to their naturally clear, glassy appearance. The crystal bead in the middle of her forehead also grew in proportion to her body and occasionally gleamed with the 5% complete rune representing the rule of Evolution. In addition, Meihui¡¯s cultivation quietly broke through stage four of the Houtian realm to stage five, yet it continued to increase with no sign of ceasing. Meihui had unknowingly unlocked a hidden power within her bloodline. Most divine beasts, unlike normal magical beasts, are the direct offspring of not only the laws of the universe but the daos of the universe as well. The earliest divine magical beasts were called Primordial God-kings and were creatures born from the conflux of a major law and a major dao, or more rarely the combination of all six of the major laws. Meihui¡¯s hidden power was that of these Primordial God-kings¡¯ mighty bodies that came in a multitude of different, tremendously powerful forms.
On the day she awoke, Meihui experienced a brand new existence. Her body had grown to be 6 meters long and her muscles felt mighty. With a small movement, she found herself several meters away. With a flash of her tail, she easily gauged the soldi-fire island¡¯s surface. With but a thought, her scales changed colors at her will before returning to the naturally reflective, glassy state. Her sight was much clearer, allowing her to see the smallest details on objects dozens of meters away and her senses were so potent that she could practically discern the fluctuations of fire Qi in her environment. Following these fluctuations of fire Qi and her slightly more vibrant sense gained from her rule of evolution, Meihui found it simple to find another amber bead. She was able to defeat its six tentacles with considerably less effort than before her transformation, bringing a lot of joy to her heart. It was a shame that when she consumed it, the increase to her strength was slight compared to the rivers of fire Qi still being absorbed by her bronze core from her environment, without any harm. Even her infantile Primordial God-king body was shockingly efficient when compared to her body when she first entered the Plane and she continued to grow in all aspects constantly. I need to find more powerful fire treasures! If I use my rule of evolution and my newly gained sensitivity to fluctuations of Qi, perhaps I can accomplish that feat. Thought Meihui excitedly. I only need time! Thus Meihui set off even deeper into the solid-fire island, but this time she did not proceed directionless through the island. Using her capabilities to their maximum, she hunted for a much greater treasure. On her journey, she came across many more small fields of fire flowers and lone amber beads but quickly avoided them. Day after day she travelled with no apparent exhaustion or hunger, as the fire Qi still entering her body in rivers served as sustenance. When she finally found that which she was searching for, Meihui had grown to 12 meters long and 1 meter wide (at her torso). With her unceasing growth, Meihui found it difficult to constantly adjust herself to her body but by that time she had finally gotten used to increasing in bodily power at such a frantic rate. What Meihui found, appeared to be a humongous object in what could have been the center of the solid-fire island. The quantity of fire Qi in the area around that object was particularly bountiful, far more so than any other location Meihui had seen so far. In addition, the fluctuations of fire Qi in that area were so violent, they appeared to Meihui¡¯s senses as a gigantic storm, making it apparent that that area possessed a truly enormous amount of fire treasures. As Meihui got closer, she made out the humongous object in wonder. It was a tree! Made of countless flames the tree stood majestically on the solid-fire island and pierced high into the void sky above. Surrounding the tree was the largest field of fire flowers that Meihui had yet seen, with all of their various kinds present. There was even a stunning number of amber beads planted in the surrounding area, with their six minor fire law tentacles waving about in every direction around the tree. Above, perched in the branches of the tree, were a large assortment of vaguely bird like fire treasures that she had never seen before. Meihui grew solemn. That tree is clearly my goal. However, like all treasures in this place, it seems I will have to pay a price to retrieve it. Meihui¡¯s jade-green eyes flashed with killing intent: Kill! Meihui accelerated towards the tree and quickly found herself among the flowers, with her Created shield of fire fluctuating around her 12 meter long body. With a screech, Meihui smashed fire flower after fire flower that tried to block her path without the slightest pause in her forward movement. When she came into contact with the amber beads she would merely hiss and fling herself forward with a solid-fire spear jutting from the crystal bead on her forehead, Created using her major law of fire and hardened using her rule of evolution, right into the center of the ring of minor fire law tentacles, to pierce into the amber beads and swiftly grasp victory. Meihui became truly ferocious with her soaring determination to get to the tree of fire. Her tail lashes, containing more than 10,000 kilograms of force, swept aside her obstacles in a graceful, carefree manner. Meihui had reached a new level of control over her own body! Despite her constant growth, she could easily grasp every cell in her body and exert her strength perfectly, moving with just the right amount of speed to avoid attacks, redirect blows with her scales, and slice through the rain of exploding fire seeds, flung towards her from groups of fire flowers, with a mesmerizing blur of tail-whips. Meihui¡¯s efforts over the countless days spent practicing in that Plane finally paid off! She had reached the Expert realm of weapon mastery, where the weapon and the user became two united as one, with her body obviously serving as her weapon of choice. As she approached closer to the tree of fire, the flaming birds on its branches seemed to turn in her direction and began silently flapping their wings. At the point when Meihui had reached the base of the tree of fire, they rose into the void sky as one and descended upon her in a shimmery cloud that completely cut Meihui off from the Plane around her. All that could be seen from Meihui¡¯s position was flaming birds in every direction. Dozens at a time rapidly shot through the space between their barrier and Meihui to furiously attack her. Each flaming bird had a might that eclipsed even the amber beads, with vague flashes of the 1% complete rune of the major law of fire (or 6 combined minor fire laws) emitting from their bodies. Meihui had exited what could only be called her slaughter of the fire flowers and amber beads and entered a desperate struggle for her life against those flaming birds. Though Meihui swiftly tried to dodge the flaming birds¡¯ attacks, their cloud blocked her path and their outbursts of fire hindered her movements. Even her mighty tail lashes could only knock away a few of the flaming birds at a time. Meihui was thus forced on the defensive, relying on her Created shield of fire, that flared with bright silver runes, to hold off the majority of attacks. She had no time to form solid-fire spears to fling at the enemy, for their numbers were truly too great and their speed in close quarters was frightening for Meihui to behold. Even the coordination of the flaming birds was excellent and they moved as though they were one organism. As the minutes stretched on and Meihui¡¯s fire Qi rapidly depleted, she grew increasingly mentally strained from her efforts and her jade-green eyes flared with panic and despair. Suddenly, from the direction of the tree of fire, a huge, gentle pulse of fire Qi was emitted that washed over the group of flaming birds and Meihui. It felt slightly...conscious? As quickly as they had descended, the flaming birds ceased their attacks and rose into the void sky to perch once more on the branches of the tree of fire. Meihui was awed. The tree of fire was alive? Before now all of the fire treasures that she had come into contact with were non sentient, non-living creatures. Thus, one can imagine Meihui¡¯s shock at finding out that there were actual living things in that Plane. From the tree of fire, Meihui felt a sense of acceptance and an indescribable majesty, as though it was a mighty True Immortal gazing down at her from the heavens, while its fire Qi remained washed over her. When the fire Qi finally withdrew back into the tree of fire, a circular opening formed on its trunk and six balls of fire floated out towards the thoroughly exhausted Meihui. Each ball of fire was shaded differently and carried its own aura that soared high into the void sky above. Trembling, Meihui glanced meekly at the tree of fire and understood that it was offering her a choice of one of the six balls of fire. Not daring to refuse, Meihui scanned over all six balls. Her eyes were attracted to the silver ball of fire that pulsed with an ancient aura of change, giving her a sense of refreshing, healing energy washing over her sore flesh like a balm, that even soothed her soul, with but a single glance. As Meihui became mesmerized by that silver ball of fire, it completely filled her senses and the other five balls flew back into the tree of fire through the circular opening, that closed behind them. Meihui¡¯s crystal bead shone with its silver rune and attracted the ball of fire towards it. The silver fire smoothly poured into the clear crystal bead on her forehead dying it a deep silver color. The fire contained within it a sense of eternity and quickly bonded with every part of Meihui¡¯s body from her, now deep silver, crystal bead until it became a permanent, inseparable part of her. Before Meihui could recover from this transformation, the tree of fire emanated another huge pulse of fire Qi that formed into a mysterious wave. This wave effortlessly bypassed Meihui¡¯s defenses and gently swept her into the void sky. It flared through the void sky and carried Meihui to the massive doorway, from which she came, in moments. When Meihui snapped out of her trance, she glanced gratefully at the retreating wave of fire Qi. It''s time. She thought, with understanding: I have to exit this Plane and return to my homeland. Her eyes flashing with exuberance she turned towards the massive doorway before her. It''s time to search for my parents. 3. First Friend Passing through the doorway, Meihui felt a sudden weakness encapsulate her. The fire Qi that her body had been unconsciously absorbing slowed, her cultivation settling at the 6th stage of the Houtian Realm and her body length settling at around 12.5 meters in length. Though her body continued to grow and to absorb Qi, the Qi of the world was much less dense than that of the fiery Plane and the World¡¯s Qi was a mixture of all the elements: thus Meihui¡¯s core began to once more filter the Qi it absorbed to receive only fire Qi, though at a much faster pace than before she had entered that Plane. Despite this weakness, her strength seemed to be even more ferocious to her once she glided back into the world, almost as though that Plane had restricted her strength with an invisible pressure, that went completely unnoticed in her excitement and inexperience. It felt to her as though heavy chains had then been dropped from her body and core alike, her very spirit soaring within her as she enjoyed that lightness. Hissing in happiness Meihui slithered through the water around the entrance to that Plane, tearing through the water with a speed of more than 100 kilometers per hour. The water around her was oddly undisturbed as she passed through it, like her body was a lithe ghost, every movement of her flesh being perfectly contained by Meihui¡¯s Expert control (where a weapon and the fighter become two united as one). As Meihui celebrated, her ¡°self¡±, began to re-sync with the frequency of the World¡¯s space-time continuum. At that time she discovered that she had surprisingly spent 10 years in that Plane! Meihui froze with shock. 10 years! Will I even be able to find my parent¡¯s now!? I have been training and lazing around in that Plane for 10 years... Meihui thought with frustration. Ah well, there is nothing I can do but continue on my path forward, eh? Meihui, eventually, decided. Hmmm, I hope this World is entertaining. Just like that Meihui cast aside any negative emotions and proceeded to swim leisurely through the water in an upwards direction. She sought to leave the dumping place of the Plane¡¯s door and her desolate birthplace, the deep underwater ravine. Similarly to when she was in that Plane, she maintained a Created shield of fire Qi, shining with glowing silver runes, around her body as she moved. Days passed as Meihui steadily swam upwards at a pace exceeding 100 kilometers per hour, with no apparent change in her surroundings. She kept passing by the same dark-grey rock walls and swimming through the consistently, silvery water. Only after a month of time had passed was the top of the ravine visible, and only after another couple of days passed, with the exit of the ravine in sight, did Meihui finally leave behind the place of her birth. When Meihui excitedly glanced around herself upon exiting the ravine, all she could see was more desolation. Not a soul could be detected around the vicinity of that ravine, with even the nearest underwater plant life being spotted many kilometers away, as though they all had a tacit understanding to not approach the ravine¡¯s maw. With this sight, Meihui¡¯s mood was immediately dampened. Meihui summoned forth her rule of evolution, with her crystal bead vaguely projecting its 5% completed maroongigantic rune representing evolution. Her rule¡¯s sense vaguely warned her of danger to her progression in the northwest and great benefits to her growth in the northeast. With there being no indications whatsoever of her parents¡¯ existence, Meihui turned her beautiful jade-green eyes to the northeast and continued her progression. The further she swam forth, the more Meihui could sense signs of life. The verdant plant life below and the colorful fauna, that increasingly began to appear around her, showed life to be much more plentiful in the World than in the fiery Plane, that she had left behind. The curious Meihui even took the chance to catch and devour some passing exotic fish, emitting fire Qi, with her vasty superior speed. While the taste of the exotic fish was decent, Meihui found the flowing streams of fire Qi suffusing her, still growing, body and bronze core to be much more filling. Nevertheless, Meihui continued to slither swiftly towards the various exotic fish, consuming them in great gaping mouthfuls. Eventually, the peaceful sea life began to clear a path around Meihui, avoiding her entirely as she proceeded on her way. After only a day had passed in this manner, Meihui spotted the first sentient life that she would encounter in the World. The first thing that Meihui noticed was unusual fluctuations of World Qi occurring not far from her position. Upon sensing these fluctuations, Meihui hastily altered her path to converge with the source of disturbance. As she swam closer to the fluctuations, Meihui¡¯s jade-green eyes widened in surprise. Not far from Meihui could be seen a strange humanoid creature, with the upper body of a young boy, that carried a satchel strapped across his chest, and the lower body of a bluish-silver scaled fish, that was larger in proportion to his upper body than two legs would have been on a similarly aged young human. This creature was surrounded by magical beasts of the Houtian realm with the appearance of large pure-white crabs, Icy White Crabs. What is that creature? It vaguely stirs my bloodline¡¯s memories. I must not let it die, it could have some of the answers that I seek! Meihui redoubled her speed, hastily slithering forwards.
Humanoid Creature POV Ahhh! What awful luck! Who would have thought that I would be swarmed by Icy White Crabs, on today of all days? Thought the humanoid creature with despair. Nooo! I refuse to die here, I have to reach the peak of martial arts! The young humanoid redoubled his efforts, using the earth Qi from his dantian (the infinite space that most humanoids have within their navel area, that stores energy) to cover his fists in exceedingly tough stone once more. ¡°Earth fist!¡± he shouted. His small fists, which appeared to be covered in huge boxing gloves formed from stone, flew out with enough power to completely shatter stone. With crackling explosions, the various attacks, in the form of meter long needles of ice, being sent towards him from the Icy White Crabs burst. Each swing of his smallfists shattered a swathe of icy needles flying towards him yet, the Icy White Crabs slowly drew nearer. There were simply too many of them! Sweat dripped from the young humanoid¡¯s brow as he swished his tail, moving around in search of a hole in their gathering that could serve as an escape route. He quickly realized that such efforts were in vain; the Icy White Crabs were swarming around him like a cloud of locusts descending upon a fertile field, there were no openings. His breath grew labored in seconds. Icy White Crabs began to approach his body. Slash! With a swipe, one Icy White Crab after another ripped into his body with their pincers. Each cut felt like a glacier infusing his warm body with a freezing cold. The ice Qi of the Icy White Crabs had infused their pincers, thoroughly making use of contact with his small body to inject debilitating burst of cold energy into his system and stifling the young humanoid¡¯s abilities. I am finished. The young humanoid thought with sadness, as tears welled up in his bright blue eyes. Suddenly, another magical beast, three times larger than the Icy White Crabs surrounding the young humanoid boy, rushed into the fight. A majestic tail, covered in a red shield that sparkled with tiny silver runes, swung through the mass of Icy White Crabs with a force of 100, 000 kilograms and ruptured their bodies with blasts of fire. In an instant more than half of the Icy White Crabs had been exterminated. The remaining Icy White Crabs gathered into a group and summoned a large mass of ice Qi from their bodies. This ice Qi flowed together under a mysterious minor elemental law and gathered into a vague light blue rune. The Icy White Crabs would stake everything on this final attack! The young humanoid boy looked on with wide eyes and a gaping mouth, his tears no longer flowing down his adorable face. What is that magical beast? It¡¯s so strong! Did it come to rescue me? The youngling could not help but fantasize that the newly arrived magical beast was its knight in shining armor. There was no longer anything that he could do but watch, his Qi was completely used up and his body was exhausted. A rumble sounded throughout the sea and the surrounding water dropped down to even more freezing temperatures, the Icy White Crabs final attack was unleashed! The vague light blue rune burst, unleashing the ice Qi stored within it in the form of a frenzied blizzard. The opposing magical beast, what the boy could now make out to be a large 12 meter long snake, gave a battle screech and called forth a fiery Qi that distorted into a cloud of red flames, manipulated into countless wisps of fire by a glowing silver runes that seemed to forge the fire into hardened weapons. As the frenzied blizzard shot towards the snake magical beast, a pulse of maroonlight emanated from the clear crystal bead on the snake¡¯s head, galvanizing the hardened dagger-like wisps of fire into real-looking red arrows. The cloud of red arrows flew to meet that frenzied blizzard. In seconds, the two forces collided, radiating shock waves that shook the surrounding silvery sea. The frenzied blizzard collapsed as the cloud of red arrows tore through it, each arrow detonating to form small balls of fire, that chipped away at the body of the blizzard, as they pierced through. The crisis was averted! Warily, the Icy White Crabs fled as a group in the western direction. They no longer looked as though they dared to confront that snake magical beast. The young humanoid boy had his face, which had been filled with awe, pale with fear as the beast turned its jade-green eyes to meet his bright blue eyes. He could sense a faint whispering of eternity from its gaze as though the snake magical beast was some ancient ferocious beast from a bygone era. It has to be known that the boy¡¯s kind could live for as long as 600 years, even without cultivating, so despite the boy being young- he had an amazing life force. What was this snake magical beast that could so easily scatter a large gathering of Icy White Crabs and that possessed a faint ancient aura? Is this one of those thousand year old Houtian magical beasts? What level does its strength reach!? Panickedly thought the young humanoid boy. The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement. ¡°D-D-Don¡¯t eat me sir magical beast! I am too weak to give you strength; I am only at the second stage of the Houtian realm!¡± yelled the boy in fear. Though magical beasts would typically only eat those that had similar elemental attributes or those with high amounts of World Qi compared to their own, they were not averse to eating the odd humanoid weakling. ¡°I will be your servant for eternity, so please!¡± the boy choked out, as the snake magical beast swiftly approached. The snake magical beast wrapped around the boy and brought its jade-green eyes to stare directly into his own. After a few tense minutes, during which the young humanoid trembled in terror, the clear crystal bead of the snake magical beast¡¯s head brought forth a gentle silver glow. A silver flame poured out of the clear crystal bead and covered the scared boy, it seeped into his skin, rejuvenating his energy and restoring his wounds in a mere breath of time. ¡°Ah! Thank you sir magical beast! I promise to be a good servant from now on. I, Bojing, of the merkin, son of the fallen merknight, Delun, and the deceased merlady, Biyu, will not fail you!¡± exclaimed Bojing, as he was being healed. He believed that the snake magical beast was surely old among its kind and could thus understand human speech, accepting him as its servant.
Meihui POV ¡°@!#$%^&***%#$%$,¡± heard Meihui, coming from the humanoid creature¡¯s mouth. She could make no sense of the beings uttered noises but could still somehow understand them to represent some form of intelligent communication. After she had experimented with her newly gained silver flame, that had throbbed within her forehead¡¯s bead upon coming in contact with the young being, and managed to successfully employ it to heal the humanoid creature¡¯s wounds, her jade green eyes saw within the young being¡¯s bright blue pupils a distinct emotion that she instinctively recognized as subservience. Pleased, she released her coils from the young humanoid creature¡¯s body and continued her journey in the northeastern direction, confident that the young being would follow obediently behind her. Her bloodline¡¯s inherited memories not being completely awakened, Meihui could not quite grasp the complete significance of the humanoid creature, but she knew that it would be a key factor in her search for her parents. How slow! Meihui thought in irritation, as she observed the humanoid creature¡¯s frantic movements behind her body. Moving at over 100 kilometers an hour, with no apparent strain, she was leaving the young being far behind, as it was only propelled, by its bluish-silver tail, at a steady 40 kilometers per hour. Meihui slowed her pace to match the seemingly slow, plodding humanoid creature and casually hunted fire-Qi fish, to supplement her constant intake of World Qi, as they moved along. As the young humanoid creature seemed quite incompetent to Meihui¡¯s eyes, she would simply kill, rather than devour, some of her prey and toss them over to the being that followed her. It caught the fish with more incomprehensible noises, that Meihui managed to interpret as gratitude, and placed them in its satchel. After only a scant few hours of travel the humanoid creatures strength began to wane and it made many annoying whining speech noises from its mouth. Meihui understood: the young being was exhausted. How did such a weak creature survive on its own for so long? She wondered. Meihui¡¯s need for sleep had long since been done away with, at the awakening of her immature Primordial God-King body, and even before that- her endurance was more than enough to allow her several days travel without rest. The pair swam down to the ocean floor and made themselves comfortable on a piece of concealed, smooth bedrock. Meihui watched as the young humanoid retrieved some fish from its satchel, gutting them and roasting them with a strange pyramidal tool that used his World Qi to cook the fish. As the young humanoid ate, he stared at Meihui¡¯s supple, slender, powerful form and seemed to be in deep contemplation. Meihui watched in silence until the young being finished its meal and tidied up, going off to relieve itself of waste before returning before her. It looked intensely into Meihui¡¯s eyes, chattering with some more speech noises. What is it saying? Does he want something from me? Thought Meihui with confusion. ¡°#^$*$#I*^%#%#^&^%$&&%^!!!¡± the young humanoid creature exclaimed with surprise. It clearly had noticed something of import upon seeing no response on Meihui¡¯s reptilian face. With a single hand, it pointed to itself and slowly stated ¡°Bojing¡± a few times loudly and clearly. Is that what this young humanoid creature is called? Thought Meihui excitedly. Bojing. The young humanoid creature, Bojing, waited patiently and gestured to Meihui with the clear intention of receiving her name. Alas, Meihui could not produce such strange noises with her reptilian maw. Hmmm¡.How do I communicate my name to it? Wondered Meihui with frustration. !? A memory suddenly struck Meihui like a brick to the face. In that fiery sub-plane, the tree of fire had managed to communicate with Meihui with its pulsing Qi¡..Could Meihui imitate that here? Meihui froze. Her attention became completely directed inwards until she could practically see her lustrous, ringed bronze core. With her senses focused completely on it, she could now ¡°see¡± the streams of fire Qi that constantly filled and tempered her bronze core. Her core was her center, her source of power, that all magical beasts contain within themselves as tools of sorts to direct their energies. It contained within it her soul itself, though at this stage in Meihui¡¯s existence, her soul was a pitiful, feeble, incorporeal wisp. Like all magical beasts, her Spiritual Sea, or consciousness, of her soul was mixed and mingled with her Qi, constantly feeding and reinforcing it over time. It was to this spiritual sea that Meihui found her attention drawn towards. She used her innate gifts as an elemental creature with a core to direct her tiny Spiritual Sea such that it whirled like a funnel, quickly draining her stores of fire Qi. She tried repeatedly to transmit this whirlpool of consciousness outwards, using the fire Qi as its physical medium much as the tree of fire must have done. It was incredibly difficult! In the end, despite her divine heritage and six stage Houtian realm power, her Spiritual Sea was simply too underdeveloped, even with constant nourishment from the fire Qi and the transformation done to it when she awakened her Primordial God-King body-it would need time to slowly grow in power. Come on! You can do it! If a tree can do it, why can¡¯t you!? Meihui thought with determination. Bojing (the young humanoid creature) watched Meihui¡¯s efforts with fascination. She was clearly struggling immensely to do...something. Was it that difficult to give out a name? Apparently¡ With a sudden flash of inspiration, Meihui slightly altered her efforts. Rather than trying to transmit her consciousness outwards, towards Bojing alone, she shaped her mixed pool of fire Qi and the spiritual essence of her sea of consciousness into a bubble and expanded some of it out wards in a wave. This wave quickly expanded outwards to a distance of 50 meters around her lithe, serpentine body, easily encompassing Bojing within its sphere of influence.
Bojing POV As Bojing fascinatedly watched the beautiful, terrifying snake before him, to which he had sworn his allegiance, an odd phenomenon occurred. Previously the glassy scaled snake had been distractedly staring in his direction, embroiled in some sort of internal conflict as it apparently struggled to respond to Bojing¡¯s query and utter its name. Now that I think about it, if it can¡¯t understand the merkin language and has no humanoid vocal organs, how will it answer my question? Thought Bojing perplexedly as he observed the happenings before him. He watched as a mysterious wave of fiery Qi quickly rippled outwards from the snake¡¯s body, enveloping him in its influence. The wave of fiery Qi did not seem hostile and behaved in an odd manner that was not at all reminiscent of an attack. Wow! Cool! What is Sir Snake doing? Suddenly a foreign consciousness intruded upon his own, harmlessly washing over his immature Spiritual Sea like a gentle wave from the ocean. Ideas in a language that he could not understand were perfectly transmitted to his mind, comprehensible despite the language barrier. Do magical beasts have their own languages too? Bojing wondered as the wave tried to sweep deeper into his Spiritual Sea, reading into his surface memories behind his conscious thoughts. Bojing did not resist, feeling only a sense of curiosity from the waves of fiery Qi. Came the slightly discomfited response transmitted by the fiery Qi, after it performed a cursory probe of Bojing¡¯s memories. Oh. Sorry. Why are you out here, in this part of the SilverSea? Where are you going? I can follow you right? I already promised to be your servant for eternity. My father used to say that a true man is always true to his oaths! Transmitted Meihui fiercely to Bojing. Yes, yes. But can I follow you!? Thought Bojing with desperation. I am not a creature! I am Bojing, of the mighty, honorable merkin! Thought Bojing to her with pride. Alas, Meihui had ceased to pay any further attention to Bojing at that point, merely curling around his comparatively small body and closing her jade green eyes. The waves of fiery Qi retracted into her body, Bojing no longer had any way to communicate with the snake magical beast before him. After some more hectoring and posturing, he understood that she was no longer up for conversation and grumpily proceeded to lay against her warm body. I guess I¡¯ll just go to sleep then. Madam Snake seems to be powerful and valiant. I bet I will not be bored or lonely any longer if I stay by her side. With that Bojing closed his bright blue eyes and drifted off to sleep, the unlikely pair resting in a grotto at the bottom of the SilverSea.
