What the hell? A slime? Seriously? As he thought that slime bounced off the floor flying right at him. Swoosh! He dodged it as slime flew past right beside him, smashing into wall behind him. Apocalypse starting!
With that blue screen faded and that beam of light flashed, blinding everyone as they started tumbling around as they finally fell, gym lockers that were right beside the entrance fell over them with a bang and then, it all stopped, it was a complete silence. Ugh! What is this, what happened, damn this locker is so heavy, i can barely move, i need to get out and check whats going on. Thought Tenebris as he slowly crawled under that locker that was on top of him. It''s dark, wait, no... It''s night, i can see moon again, oh moon my good brother i missed you. As he looked around himself he noticed whole school was a mess, there was no light, only pale moonlight barely outlining the school, east wing of the school was on fire, that fire was lighting up a bit of its surrounding, but oddly enough it wasn''t spreading, it was just burning quietly in the night, flames were licking damaged and burned down walls, but that was it, it was like that fire was trapped in time, only existing, but neither progressing nor regressing, stagnating in place. West wing was half collapsed, whole top floor was missing, stacked on top of second floor, windows shattered and walls crumbling bit by bit, whole west wing looked like it was about to collapse any time now, but it was still standing firm in place. Only central part of the school was whole, well except shattered windows and some peeled of paint. Tenebris turned around looking at the inside of the gym, everything was a mess, lockers were all over the place, there was a huge hole on the ceiling, pale moonlight breaching through that hole, lighting up this gym a bit. "Well damn, this is some messed up shi..."As he was mumbling to himself he suddenly heard a moan next to him, he rushed up to check it, he noticed a hand sticking under the locked, pale, soft and tender arm. "Blondey?! Are you alright, can you move?" He said as he tried moving that locker of her, with some effort he managed to lift it up a bit, enough for Tanya to crawl out a bit. Bang! He dropped that locker back down as soon as he saw her out. "What are these lockers made of, lead?! I almost sprained my arm damn it!" He said, frowning and rubbing his arms. "Are you okay? "Dungeon? Bosses? What is happening i don''t understand? And how can any one sane say good luck have fun? What kind of a sick mind do you have in order to say that?!" Tanya was practically screaming last part of her sentence. Well i know quite a few people like that... "Keep quiet, you might attract some monsters if you keep screaming like that!" "Let''s look around a bit, let''s try and find something useful, you two check the lockers for some food, we don''t know how much time we will spend here, i''ll go around and try to find some weapons for us." Whispered Tenebris as he turned around and started walking away from two youth that were still sitting on the floor dumbfounded. Jeez, will those two wake up already and realise what is happening around them now, do they not realise yet that it''s worlds end already. Gosh, well it might not be an end, maybe it''s something more of a natural selection, strong eats weak world i guess, not that much different from my previous world i guess, just more direct, well anyway i will put myself on top of the food chain so i don''t have to worry about it... Oh look there it is! Tenebris sped up as he saw something he was looking for, doors of gym equipment storage, if there is anything useful in this gym, there ought to be in gym storage! Creak! Sound of doors opening was echoing through the gym, Demian and Tanya turned around and saw Tenebris walk into doors and disappear into the darkness. Jackpot! This is what i need! He knew there was couple of martial arts clubs in this high school so he knew there was spare equipment stored somewhere. Gloves, pads, bats, bokkens and even some old chipped swords. He took a towel and started collecting everything that might be of some use on a pile and he took an iron chipped sword and tied it to his back with its handle sticking out at his right hip. As he finished and started tying a knot of that towel he saw an old heater in the corner, one of portable ones so he went over to grab that when suddenly he felt piercing pain from his shoulder! Ack! He almost screamed out in pain! -12! Critical strike. He turned around only to see a small bat flying around him flapping its wings in the air, but to his shock it wasn''t only one, there were dozens of bats hanging from the ceiling looking down at him. He slowly reached out towards his back to grab his sword, and bats as if sensing that all rushed out swarming him, striking him with their claws in turns. Shing! Swish, swish, swish! Metal slashing flesh was heard as he unsheeted his sword and waved it through the air with utmost precision. -30! Fatal strike! -30! Fatal strike! -30! Fatal strike! -30! Fatal strike! -30! Red letters faded throughthe air, every single of his sword strike was a fatal strike for a bat, killing multiple bats with single stroke of his sword, just a couple of brief moments later there were no more bats. There is 4 of them there, no, wait, there is 5 now one more came, are they spawning somewhere? Thought Tenebris as he watched entrance to janitors office around the corner. After a minute another skeleton came and then they started moving in group towards the school, entrance to janitors office was clear. Tenebris used this opportunity and sprinted his way into the office slamming the doors shut behind him. "Who''s there?" He heard a faint whisper. "Umm, my name is Tenebris, are you school janitor?" He answered as he looked around trying to see where did this voice come out from. "Oh so you are a student, but how did you get in, there should be skeletons right in front of the entrance?" Whispered slightly older man as he peeked his head behind an overturned table. "They are gone for the moment but there should be more coming any time soon, your daughter sent me here to help you...." "Diana?! Is she safe, where is she?" Spoke frantically janitor. "She is safe, she is hiding inside gym, so don''t worry about that." Looking around himself trying to see if there is anything usable he continued. "Grab anything that might be of some use, tools, food or anything you might find useful, we have to hurry we have a bit time before more skeletons come back." "Yes, yes!" Answered the janitor as he hurriedly started rummaging through the room. "Okay, i''m ready, i got everything, we can go now." Whispered janitor as a heavy backpack was hanging down his shoulder. "There is a skeleton outside, once i open the doors you need to sprint to gym, i''ll take care of this skeleton." Explained slowly Tenebris. "You will fight it?" Asked confused janitor. "No, i will kill it." Answered Tenebris with a cold light glinting in his eyes. "Now, run!" Spoke Tenebris as he opened the doors, skeleton that was couple of steps away from the doors turned around and saw the running janitor. It''s eyes glowed with bright green fire as he ran towards the janitor with a long bone in it''s hands, but before it could reach janitor there was already a foot in front of it''s face rushing madly towards it''s head. With a subtle bang skeleton flew backwards couple of steps as it fell hard on the ground.

Tenebris saw it''s information floating slightly above skeletons head before it disappeared into thin air. "I can''t see it''s level, so it must be higher level than me, good, excellent, that means that it''s just a pile of exp waiting to be collected!" Spoke Tenebris before he rushed over to the skeleton that was slowly rising from the ground. Before it could even rise properly a knee appeared in front of it slamming it hard into it''s rib cage area. With another thud skeleton again fell on the ground, but before it could even start rising again a sword smashed into it, and after first strike there were couple of more strikes. -14. -21! Critical strike! -15. -13. -16. In just couple of seconds skeleton was left with half of it''s HP gone, but Tenebris didn''t want to stop there he just kept slashing madly at the "poor" skeleton that couldn''t even move on the ground. +400 exp! Light blue letters floated slowly above skeleton as it fell into pieces. "400 huh? Not bad, couple of them more and i will level up again, oh look it dropped some book!" Chapter 7 - A lot of math After an hour or so passed everything seemed calm, fool moon was high in the sky, Tenebris was gazing upon the night sky silently pondering to himself. From the info we currently have we can''t leave this school until we clear this dungeon, it has unknown number of bosses and monsters are spawning in random places around the school. So, first we need to establish some sort of a base right? After that we should get some more info on those bosses, their location and strength, damn it this is annoying, what should i do bro, got any ideas? He thought as his gaze pierced night darkness reaching the moon. Nothing huh?! Well i can''t blame you, i can''t think of anything myself either, let''s just do it one step at the time, i''ll talk with the janitor once he is rested, maybe he might know some good hideout. If you are you can stay here and hide somewhere and wait for some good person to save you, if you think i will save you and you can just relax while i do all the job you are wrong, all the food will be under my supervision and you can use your contribution and earn yourself some food, otherwise get out of my sight, any brake of my rules resolves in banishment and any serious brake of my rules is equal with decapitation, am i clear enough?" Smile on his face was gone, he had stern look on his face as he glanced over them. "You can''t do that! We found this food how can you just take it for yourself?" Spoke angrily Tanya. "Oh i can''t? Try me then!" He answered while that cold smile resurfaced on his face as he slowly put his hand on his sword hilt. "I-i-i...." "Oh don''t worry about that, if you can do what we spoke of earlier you don''t have to fight, as for your daughter, once we are done she will be capable of combat so don''t worry about her." Answered Tenebris with a solemn look on his face. "What do you mean he doesn''t have to fight, but rest of us does?" Asked confused Demian. "He is an engineer, so he is useful even out of combat, what about you, do you have something special about you that may spare you of combat? Do you?" "I don''t..." Answered Demian with a downcast face. "Then it''s settled, eat one protein bar each and we will go." He ordered them as he took one of protein bars he got earlier and ate it slowly, everyone hearing him did same as him. Demian still stood there silently pondering something, Tanya was slowly chewing her bar with still red face, Diana had a happy smile on her face while she ate her protein bar with her eyes closed and Tomm was eating his bar while slightly pondering as to what did Tenebris mean when he said that his daughter will be combat capable when they finished. After everyone finished their protein bar they started moving, everyone followed Tenebris as he was leading the way, in the end they ended up on a corner of the gym, looking behind the corner observing the skeletons there. "Ok, here''s the plan, once this group of skeletons goes away and new ones start coming, Demian you will go and take the first one, Tanya will take the second one, and if you guys are too slow i will take over remaining ones." Tenebris slowly explained to everyone. "And what about her?" Asked confused Tanya as she pointed towards Diana. "She is a caster without spells, what do you expect her to do, bore them to death? Enough nonsense, invite me into your party and we can start." As he finished system notification popped up in front of him saying that he was invited into a party, when he accepted he noticed that small health bars appeared in the corner of his vision, after he focused a bit he noticed it was his party, everything looked exactly like in games, he was really fascinated by how this system worked. After Demian passed party leader title to him, he ordered Demian to go and grab a skeleton, he explained to them beforehand about skeletons so they shouldn''t have any problems fighting them, but he was unaware of one fact, he was a trained assassin, they were high school kids who never got into a real life and death fight. After Demian ran out and slammed into a skeleton, he tripped over it falling over the same skeleton that he intented to attack. Watching this Tenebris just face-palmed in shame as he couldn''t believe what he just saw. Demian hastily stood up and looked over at Tenebris who was still covering his face with his hand. "What are you looking at idiot, kill it. God what a moron..." Yelled Tenebris as he saw what Demian was doing through the crack of his fingers. "Oh..." Demian realised what he was doing and bowed down his head in shame before he turned around and started fighting with skeleton again, but before he could even reach half of its HP another one came. "Go, this one is yours, can you please not be a total blockhead like boxer boy?" Spoke Tenebris as he turned around to look at Tanya, but before he could even get a reply she was already sprinting towards the new skeleton that came, sweeping its legs with her bokken and then slamming its head when it fell down.This text was taken from Royal Road. "Jeez, i''m wrong and here you are still hitting this damn pile of bones while i finished already, and i even gave you a head-start, oh there is another one, of to work then, so blondey how will you distribute your attributes?" Tenebris asked as he started harrasing another skeleton that came. "Well i guess 4 points in agility and 1 in strength?" She answered as she struck her finishing blow to her skeleton, turning around to look at Tenebris fighting. "You really are just a blondey..." Tenebris mumbled as he kept smashing and kicking the "poor" skeleton on the ground. "Then tell me almighty one what should i..." She wanted to respond in annoyance but she stopped before she had the chance, she was watching Tenebris fight. "So you started realising now?" Tenebris spoke with smirk forming on his face. "Uh, i think so..." She answered while still watching him fight. "Tell me then!" He said with a smile as he already finished his skeleton. "Well, i need more precision, more attack speed and more move speed, but i still need some more power for my strikes..." She mumbled quietly. "Exactly, so go 3 points in agility, 1 point in precision and 1 point in attack power, get it now?" "Yeah, but how is that any different from what i said earlier?" She answered while still clearly confused. "It doesn''t have any difference now, but later it will have a big difference, or do you just plan to die early?" "Go to hell!" She yelled as she was already pissed of by his provocations. "Been there, done that..." Tenebris mumbled in response, but Tanya didn''t hear him because she was still fuming with anger, Demian just giggled as he finished of his skeleton. "So how much exp did you guys gain now?" Asked Tenebris with a lazy smile. "Um, totally i gained 352, we have 10% bonus for being in a full party, i have level uped once." Answered Demian. "Same here..." Answered Tanya while still pouting. "Good, blackie did you get any exp?" Asked Tenebris as he looked over to Diana, but she was sitting down on the ground with faint blue aura surrounding her. "She is meditating, but i gained same 352 exp, so she should also have gained it." Answered Tomm with an awkward smile on his face. "Oh how hardworking she is, nice i like it!" Answered Tenebris with half closed eyes and satisfied smile on his face. "How is she hard working? We fought here and she just sat there and meditated?" Asked Tanya. "Well she is a caster, she needs to meditate to gain runes, that''s why i brought her here, i guess she realised my plan faster than you idiots did, now hurry level up so we can continue fighting, and if you guys don''t hurry up i will let them swarm you!" Answered Tenebris as he looked around himself trying to find if skeletons dropped something. "Uh, Tenebris, how much of the guide did you really read?" Asked Demian when he noticed what Tenebris was doing. "Not much, i just skimmed over it then passed it to you guys, why?" Answered Tenebris. "So did you already identify your equipment?" Spoke calmly Tanya. "Identified? Oh right there''s that... How dumb of me to forget that!" He spoke as he remembered something. Well at least he isn''t insulting only us... Thought Tanya as she watched him. "Incoming!" Spoke Demian loudly. "Oh, you take over it, and for gods sake be faster this time, please..." Chapter 9 - Planning next step As more time passed, more and more bones kept piling up on the floor, their pace kept increasing so in the end they kept rotating between skeletons so they could rest a bit. After a bit more than hour they already killed around 50 skeletons and they collected nice amount of exp, Diana woke up from her meditation and informed Tenebris that she gained another rune. After hearing that Tenebris told them to swipe the floor and pick up any items that dropped while he cleared any incoming skeletons, after clearing everything they went back to the gym where they checked their loot. "So in total we earned somewhere around 4500 exp, which is nice, what level are you guys now?" Spoke Tenebris with a satisfied smile. "I''m third level and i need a bit more to get forth level."Answered Demian. "Same here, i think all of us are the same actually, what level are you Tenebris?" Asked Tanya. "I''m fifth, need a bit less than half a level to level up again, so what loot did we get?" "Umm, let''s see, we got two bone swords, four health potions, one mana potion and some book." Answered Demian. "A book? Let me see it!" Spoke Tenebris with his eyes sparkling. "Excellent, this is not just a book, this is a skill book! Check it out!" As he spoke he swiped his arm through the air and blue screen popped up above the skill book.

As he said that he took Demian to the side and explained him what was his job from now on, Demian just stood there, misery written all over his face as he paled second by second as he listened to Tenebris. "Okay, that being solved, blackie what rune did you get?" Spoke Tenebris as he returned to the group, Demian was left there in the back shivering constantly with a pale face. "Oh yeah, i got rune named "Stream" like a river stream." She answered with a proud look on her face. "Good, can you cast spells now?" Tenebris asked full of excitement. "No, not yet, but if i study these runes a bit i think i can figure something out maybe, but for now all i can do is get some water." She answered, that proud look on her face completely wiped out as he stared down to ground, making circles with her feet. "Well that''s something, at least we won''t run out of water any time soon. Blondey are those bone swords any good?" He asked as he turned around towards Tanya. "Well yes, they have almost double damage of my bokken but its durability is really low, here catch." She answered and threw a sword to him.

Tanya answered with her shoulders shrugged. "Good, it might be even better that way, we will see, pass that mana potion to blackie and keep the rest safe, now go get some rest guys, later we will relocate to somewhere better." "Uh, ill save this attribute points for later, if i stack them up a bit ill at least be able to feel the difference." Spoke Tenebris to himself as he walked over to the rest of them that were sitting in the corner. "Okay, once you rest prepare to leave, find some bags or something here and pack up everything we might need, im going to get blueprints for vent system, Tomm you coming?" "Yes, let''s go." Answered Tomm as he stood up, Diana raised her head and watched them leave, after which she stood up and went after them. "Where are you going?" Asked Demian. "I have something to speak with Tenebris, i just remembered." She spoke without even turning her head around. Demian just ignored her and kept on resting a little bit more. Diana kept following Tenebris and her father as they went to the corner of the gym, she tried not to be noticed by them as she sneaked behind them. "Okay, ill draw their attention and you go grab those blueprints, get any blueprint we might use." Spoke Tenebris as he ran into pair of skeletons that were in front of the doors, with couple of swift movements both skeletons were on the ground getting a pounding. Tomm ran past them and hurriedly ran into his office, before he entered he flashed a smile towards Tenebris and raised his thumb up before he closed the doors behind him. Okay let''s experiment a little. Dexterous movement! Tenebris activated his spell that he got earlier, he suddenly felt strong energy inside of him as his moves started to hasten up. This is nice, i like this feeling, my speed is almost doubled, only downside of it is that my mind cant keep up enough with this speed, i must check if my processing speed can solve this problem. He kept thinking as he smashed the skeletons even faster than before, but later he started noticing that his EP was draining quite fast, his energy was limited and he wasn''t used to this body, it was quite weaker than his previous body and he couldn''t keep up much with this, and his skill even further drained him. Ill have to work on my energy problem as well, my HP and MP aren''t currently the problem if they cant even strike me, and i don''t have any spells that drain my mana, but with this amount of energy i cant afford to have a battle of attrition. As he danced around now 3 skeletons he noticed he was being watched, around the corner there was a little black haired head peeking at him. "Well, wanna join me or do you just want to watch?" He spoke a little louder this time so she could hear him. Realizing that she has been noticed Diana blushed in shame and ran up to Tenebris. "Here take this, just beat this one on the ground and dont let it get up." Spoke Tenebris as he threw his chipped metal sword to her. Totally confused by his actions Diana grabbed the sword and looked at him before saying. "Aren''t you gonna ask me why did i follow you?" "If you want to tell me you will, no point in me asking, don''t just stand there hit that pile of bones damn it!" Tenebris yelled at her as she still stood there in a daze, upon hearing what he said she realized what was happening and started hitting that skeleton in front of her. Although her strength was weak so she was unable to keep that skeleton on the ground she didn''t experience any problems even then, she kept dodging its attack and striking it back in return, after dozen or so second that skeleton dropped down on the ground creating a pile of bones. Tenebris praised her as he finished of his last skeleton. "I just tried copying what you did..." Diana answered blushing. "Oh is that so, if you really were copying me than you did really bad work, when did i allow these bones to stand up for longer than couple of seconds?" Tenebris spoke to her without even looking at her, when she heard him she flushed even more, but then Tenebris continued."Just aim for their joints, they have quite weak joints considering they dont have any muscles binding them so they fall down quickly, here is a new one go on this one is yours, try what i just said to you!" As he said that he just side stepped and avoided the rushing skeleton before he kicked him towards Diana. Once she saw that a skeleton was tumbling towards her she panicked for a second before she calmed down and swung her sword towards the skeleton. Considering there was quite a bit of force behind Tenebrises kick and her sword swing that resulted in sword striking directly into skeletons neck, and with that strike she cleanly separated skeletons head from its shoulders, its head flew up in the air before it fell down couple of steps further away. After realizing that its head is missing skeleton started crawling on the ground trying to find its head. "Oh look isnt it cute, like a puppy looking for a bone, nice strike by the way, if i didnt have plans for you being a caster i would make a swordsman out of you!" Praised her Tenebris once more. "Well, what about a spell-sword, i could be that?" Answered Diana. "A spell-sword huh? Well yeah i forgot about that, i dont know if that would be possible but that''s an interesting idea, but wouldnt you prefer being further away from fighting?" "I dont want to hide behind everyone when they risk their lives fighting, i want to do something, i want to feel useful for once..." She spoke more quietly with every words she spoke, in the end she could barely been heard, but that wasn''t a problem for Tenebris considering his heightened senses. Lets go now, you got everything you need?" Answered Tenebris as he started walking back to the gym. "Yeah, i got it lets go back." Answered Tomm as he watched his daughter standing there foolishly with her red face looking down in front of her while circling with her feet in front of her, making circles on the ground. This silly little girl, what should i do with you... He thought as he followed behind Tenebris Chapter 11 - Bat flood "We are back, did you guys have a nice rest?" Spoke jokingly Tenebris. "Umm, yeah kind of, and where did you go Diana?" Asked Tanya. "I followed them, i wanted to talk about something with Tenebris..." Diana answered with her head down with her cheeks slightly blushed. "Ohh what did you talk about?" Added Demian. "About possibility of spell-swords, we were discussing if it would be possible and how useful it would be." Answered Tenebris. "And what did you think of?" Asked Tanya while packing her bag. "It should be possible, but we will experiment with it later, from now on save up your attribute points so we can try it out later, by the way guys do you have classes?" Said Tenebris. "Uhh, i don''t, i got N/A standing instead of class." Said Demian. "Same here." Answered Tanya. "Same." Spoke in unison Diana and Tomm. "What about you?" Asked Tanya. "I have a class, it says assassin, i get a slight bonus in attributes from my class, so it might be possible for you guys to get a class, i just don''t know how." Answered Tenebris. "How did you get your class? It sounds cool." Spoke Demian. "I don''t know, it was just there when this apocalypse started, might be just luck, i have nice amount of luck." "How much?" Asked Tanya. "20 points in luck and 9 in charm." "You cant be serious, i got 4 points in luck and 5 points in charm." Spoke Demian with shock on his face. "Yeah i got same." Said Tanya similarly shocked. As everyone started packing up everything they needed Tenebris and Tomm were talking about vent system and paths they could take, when everything was done they gathered at gym entrance fully armed with bags on their backs. In front of them group of skeletons ran into central school wing, they waited for them to pass and ran into after them, when they entered the hallway they took sharp turn to the right where staircase was and went downstairs, but at the bottom of the stairs doors were locked with a lock. "Let me." Spoke Tenebris and with a swing of his sword he cut of that lock. "I have a key..." Spoke Tomm. Hearing that everyone was trying their hardest not to burst out laughing, Tenebris just stood there, scratching his head saying quietly. "Oh right, the key..." They went further down in the basement into the hallway, it was completaly dark inside and they couldn''t see anything, well everyone except Tenebris. "There are 4 doors here, which one is it?" Spoke Tenebris. "You can see the doors? I cant even see my own hands in front of my face down here." Said Demian. "Second on the right, there should be large and thick metal doors there, there is a lock on the doors but i have a key for it." Answered Tomm. "Do we have any flashlights?" Asked Tanya. "Yes, i have 2 flashlights, but they haven''t been charged in a while i don''t know if they still work." Answered Tomm as he rummaged through his backpack trying to find those flashlights. "Just one flashlight will be enough, no need to waste them." Said Tenebris, Tomm pulled out a flashlight and lighted it up, now everyone saw 4 doors in a small hallway, pair of doors on each side of hall, 3 of them were old wooden doors only last doors on the right were big and sturdy metal one. After unlocking the doors Tomm went in but suddenly Tenebris yelled. "Watch out!" As he yelled he grabbed Tomm and tossed him to the side and slammed the doors shut. "Whats wrong?" Spoke Tanya shocked. "That room is full of bats, i fought them earlier, they have low HP and are easily killed, but there''s many of them." Spoke Tenebris. "How many are we talking about actually?" Asked Demian. "How should i know, its not like i had time to count them, wanna go inside and count them?" Spoke Tenebris annoyed. "No, but what should we do then?" "I have an idea, we might try it, we will open the doors and provoke those bats out, but we will leave them only a little bit of space to come out so we don''t get swarmed, ill stand in the front and try to kill as many as i can, you two stand behind me and kill anything that passes by me, Tomm you and Diana hold the doors so they don''t push it wide open, how does it sound?" Light seemed to enrage the bats that flooded the room and they charged out the room through the small opening, Tenebris waited for them with 2 swords in hands and flashlight in his mouth, as they neared him he started slashing wildly, each and every strike was a fatal strike, cutting cleanly through them, bats fell down, one by one, piling up on the ground. Tenebris moved forward and continued mowing through the bat horde, couple of notifications popped out but he just ignored them as he continued slaughtering those bats. Minute or two later he stood there, gasping lightly, covered in some black ooze. "Dude, seriously?" Spoke Demian as he walked into the room, kicking aside those bat corpses. "What, did i miss anything?" Asked Tenebris confused. "That''s the problem, you didn''t skip anything, we didn''t even get a single swing at them, you were like a gatling gun, sweeping right through them, there was like hundred of them, and they all gave nice bit of EXP." Spoke Tanya as she walked in looking around shocked. "Oh really, that''s right i had few pop up notifications i just ignored them, lets see what it says."

Said Tomm as he pointed with his flashlight toward an old and rusted machine, he checked around it and continued. "Doesn''t seem damaged, do you want to try it out now?" "No, leave that for latter after you rewire it, we dont want to spend all the energy in one go." Answered Tenebris. "Ok guys lets clear this area up a bit this is gonna be our shelter from now on, unless we find something better." "What should we do with those bat corpses?" Asked Tanya. Chapter 13 - Clearing out the bats Shaken by his sudden change of face, everyone backed up a step, noticing that he scared them he snorted and turned around. "I''m going to check other rooms for more bats." He said as he left the room, rest of them stood there dazed and lost in the thoughts. Why do I have this weird feeling inside of me, what is this feeling, it feels empty, like there is something hollow inside of me, is this what they call longing? Bahh i don''t care, i have my brother and my sisters, they are all the family i will ever need, they will never betray me or abandon me. Tenebris stood in front of doors and thought, after finishing his thoughts he headed towards doors across theirs and pulled it slightly open. Well, there are bats here but they aren''t as numerous as the first room, never mind, i''ll let you guys be my vent for my anger. He thought as he entered the room and closed the doors behind him. "I''ll let them collect those orbs, I''m gonna clear rest of the rooms..." He went out and entered the room next doors, once again the massacre began, bats were falling one by one, they were fast, for other people they would be too fast, and there was at least 50 of them in each room except for the first one, so it took Tenebris a minute or two to slay them all. Slicing last bat in the room another series on notifications popped up in front of him.

Opening the last room doors something peculiar caught his attention, there was one big bat, that was at least 3 times bigger than the rest of the bats, and there was at least two hundred bats tightly stacked through the whole room. "This is excellent, now lets get this party started!" Said Tenebris as he charged into thick mass of bats, beginning his slaughter. Chapter 14 - Dead or dying "This is excellent now lets get this party started!" Swish! Swish! Swish! Closing the doors behind him Tenebris ran into the wild sea of the bats, swords in both hands swaying between the charging bats cutting each that passed by him. Bat lord was still hanging at the back of the room, its eyes were open and it was calmly watching Tenebris slaughter its kin. Screech! It opened its mouth and issued a long screech, unfolding its wings, it was about 1 meter long with a wingspan of 2 meters, after the screech bats were even more chaotic, attacking Tenebris wildly from all sides, but Tenebris was completely unfazed by the bat movements, continuing dancing through the storm with his swords towards the bat lord. After reaching couple of steps away from the bat lord, bat lord flew down and charged towards Tenebris, it was so fast Tenebris barely saw it, he didn''t have time to react and bat lord slammed into him pushing him down on the ground, pining him down and embedding its long teeths into his left shoulder, crushing it instantly. "Annoying." Murmured Tenebris as he kicked of the bat lord of himself and jumping up, his left arm was hanging beside his body limply but he still had firm grip on his sword, he took out a potion with his right hand and drank it swiftly while dodging the onslaught of the bats. Not wanting him to recuperate bat lord charged again towards Tenebris but he successfully dodged it this time, slashing his right handed sword at the bat lords back leaving a deep wound on its back. Sensing the pain bat lord screeched once more and turned around, its eyes were bloodshot and it was glaring hatefully at Tenebris. It charged once again but this time it was slower, it seemed it didn''t want to underestimate its prey once more. Tenebris just sidestepped and slashed at it once more, leaving a big red X on its back. It turned around looking at Tenebris that was still calmly thinning out the bats, more than half of the bats were already missing and Tenebris kept dancing through them, bats were falling like the rain. Bat lord unfolded its wings again and low screeching sound could be heard coming out of it, above its head dark glowing balls started to form and grow. Tenebris stopped for a second and watched those dark balls, there were 4 of them and they kept growing until they were the size of a fist. "A spell huh? Come at me!" Yelled Tenebris as he cut through the bats towards the bat lord. Tenebris kept dancing through the bat flood, speeding up his strikes even more, screeches of the dying bats filled the room. Swoosh! Something dark rushed past Tenebris, he barely dodged it but it still grazed his neck, he turned around only to see that there were now 3 dark balls above bat lord head. As he came closer to it another flash happened and something that looked like a spear materialized from that ball and rushed towards Tenebris, sidestepping Tenebris dodged it without any problems. He ran up to bat lord and started slashing wildly at it ignoring rest of the bats that were attacking him. Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings. "I will not fall before you do!" Yelled Tenebris while trying to shake of bats that were stuck on his body. After couple of more minutes of of bats gnawing and sword swishes both the bat lord and Tenebris were exhausted, there were no more bats and there was only two of them standing across each other, both heavily panting. "This is the end, prepare to die! Seven paths! Carnage!" Yelled Tenebris as he made his final charge at the bat lord, he was clearly moving even faster than before, slashing with his sword spinning wildly around the bat lord leaving multiple gushing wounds on it. With his last swing he aimed for the bat lords neck but before he could''ve cut it, last black ball produced another spear that pierced through Tenebrises chest, leaving a small bloody wound. "I will not die before you do!" Tenebris gathered every bit of strength he could and made his last attempt for bat lords life, slicing his sword at its head, bit by bit going deeper until he finally managed to cut it of completely. "Haha, still undefeated, time to sleep a bit..." He mumbled as he fell to the ground, the ground was littered with bat corpses so they acted as a pillow for him, his vision fading, he passed out. "Hurry up, put him down here, don''t dawdle around, hurry he might bleed to death, get me some gauze and some alcohol, there are some in my bag!" Commanded Tomm as they dragged almost dead Tenebris into their room. "Stupid kid, what have you done to yourself." Tomm whispered as he watched badly mutilated body of Tenebris, there were bite marks and scratches all over him, his body was died red with his own blood, and he just lied there, unmoving, seemingly dead, if it was not for a very weak motion of breathing they would''ve believed that he was really dead. "Dad, please save him, please, ill do anything just save him, i beg you dad." Said weeping little black haired girl. "I''m an engineer not a doctor! Its a miracle on its own that he is still alive, with this much blood loss he should be dead, but he isn''t, maybe it is because of this game system, or maybe its something else, i don''t know, but whatever it is, he might survive because of it, so calm down and do as i say." Ordered Tomm as he watched his daughter weep over Tenebrises body. Chapter 15 - Lulu "Will he be alright?" Asked worried Tanya. "I don''t know, it looks like he is healing, although slowly." Answered Tomm. "Did you try giving him health potions?" Asked Demian. "I didn''t think of that, give me one lets try it out." Demian passed one bottle of red liquid to Tomm and Tomm poured it down in Tenebrises mouth, after couple of moments Tenebris started gaining back some color in his pale face. "Give me another one, quickly." Said Tomm, as he poured another potion Tenebris started breathing normally and was looking normal, but he wasn''t waking up yet. "He seems stable, he is just unconscious, you guys go and check the other rooms and bring the loot, after you do that dissect the bats and take those orbs of theirs, i hope he wakes up until then." Spoke Tomm, Tanya and Demian listened to him and went out, but Diana was still sitting beside Tenebris hugging her knees. "He will be alright, you don''t have to worry too much about it." "I know..." Whispered Diana. "Go meditate, i can bet he wouldn''t want you guys to be idle now." Said Tomm, he could see his daughters worried look and he was trying to think of any excuse that could help her relax a bit. "Ok, tell me when he wakes up." Answered Diana before she stood up and went to the corner of the room where she sat down to meditate. Couple of hours later Tanya, Demian and Diana finished looting the bats, Diana joined them halfway because she couldnt calm herself enough to meditate. They started organising loot when they heard the voice. "It looks like a lot, anything special?" They turned around, looking stupidly at a person standing in front of them. "You, you, you bastard!" Mumbled Diana before she ran up to him and hugged him. "Why am i a bastard all of the sudden?" Spoke Tenebris while awkwardly scratching his head. "Well you made us worry, especially her..." Said Demian while he smiled sheepishly. "Why especially her?" Asked Tenebris with a frown on his face. "Shut up, stupid..." Spoke Diana as she hugged him even tighter. "Okay... Uhh so, what about the loot?" "Well there''s around 200 orbs, a spellbook, at least a dozen of potions and we also discovered that some of the bat parts can also be used as materials, oh right there was also a cloak there, looks cool." Answered Demian. "There is 213 orbs and one of them is medium grade, there is 9 health potions, 4 mana potions and 1 energy potion, bats teeths and wings are usable as materials and that cloak is much better than just looking cool." A voice was heard again, but this time they didn''t recognise who was the person speaking. "Lulu show yourself." Said Tenebris and suddenly there was little girl size of a palm sitting on top of Tenebrises head."Guys, this is Lulu, she is my new companion spirit, Lulu introduce yourself." "Hello my name is Lulu, i am this blockheads spirit, nice to meet you all." Spoke little girl. "I was unconscious for long because we were talking, i''ve met her in another dimension where i captured her and made her my spirit." "You captured me? If you didn''t sneak upon me while i slept you would have never even caught a glimpse of my tail! You were just lucky this system thing accepted it as that otherwise i would''ve kill you already..." "So here''s the deal, i was mostly dead, well not mostly but i was dead, only thing that brought me back to life was a skill i gained just before i died, the skill was called "indomitable spirit" or something like that, what it does is that if i''m dying out of combat and of periodic damages instead of actual strikes, it has a slight chance of clearing all "DoT''s" of me and boosting my health regeneration slightly for couple of seconds. Anyway, that skill brought my body back to life but my soul already left my body and was in another dimension, that dimension is like a waiting room for death, its called limbo and that place is, well it is the same thing as this world except it is not, everything looks the same but in the same time its different, kinda hard to explain. Anyway, when i got there i saw Lulu sleeping in the corner so i went over to her to ask her what is going on and where am i, but once i touched her body i got a system notification saying that she is now my companion, that notification woke her up so we started arguing but after a while we calmed down and started talking normally, so she explained some stuff to me and in the end i got another skill because of my limbo visit, its basically like stealth, just a bit more complicated, so in the end i gained quite a lot." Tenebris said with a smug expression on his face. "How much is quite a lot?" Asked Demian. "I''m level 10 now, some of my skills advanced, some just progressed a bit, i gained few skills and i got a companion, and to top it all there''s loot, oh right Lulu told me another thing about those shadow orbs, they can be used to increase our understanding of laws." "Yeah, this whole world is based on universal laws, there are some minor laws, basic laws, major laws, prime laws and so on and on, different size of orbs will give you different amount of law understanding, and different type of orb can give you different type of law, orbs that we got from these bats can be used for all sorts of law, but its mostly useful for me, because you guys haven''t even formed understanding of universal laws so they are only materials for you guys." "Now you should learn how to use laws here, your laws of darkness is rapidly rising in levels just because your soul has memory of those laws, and once you come to your previous point it will drastically slow down, so learn to use laws here, you already created couple of skills that are connected with darkness, now think of something more. "I don''t, i never studied laws of darkness so i don''t really know much about it, just try recreating some of your old skills that you used to use." "Excellent, lets begin then." Tenebris entered the abyss as he said that and started walking slowly towards the boss. As he reached about 3 meters away from the boss he waved his hand and small dark crossed circle appeared on the forehead of the spider, between its eyes. Tenebris took a deep breath and closed his eyes, he stood there calmly for a second and then suddenly opened his eyes and vanished only to appear right in front of Arachna''s face, with his sword in hand stabbing towards its face. Puchi! 3000! Lethal! Crisp sound of pierced flesh was heard. Tenebris instantly backed away leaving the bone sword deep inside Arachna''s eye. Spider started wriggling and screeching in pain before it dropped its body on the ground as the damage numbers slowly faded into the air. Tenebris nodded his head and approached spiders corpse, there was a small chest located under its body so Tenebris had to invest a bit of strength to push its body to the side. He picked up the chest and opened it, there was a stack of golden coins inside along with couple of different colored orbs and what seemed to be folded black rag, he took it and inspected it.

He swung his sword toward the incoming spider swarm and instantly killed of more than half of them while rest who survived were heavily wounded, big black 2 meter scratch was on the floor and black smoke was rising from it, spiders that were also cut by that strike had the same black smoke rising from their wounds. "Interesting, looks like my abilities got upgraded, seems like i can finally use my laws of darkness with my abilities."
