The man ran halfway down the wooden steps before he noticed that the girl was missing. ¡°What the?¡± ¡°RAAHHH¡± Without a second thought, Sheng Fei jammed the needles he held in their hand in to the man¡¯s right knee. ¡°AAARRGHH!?¡± The man moved in reflex and tripped down the stairs. Sheng Fei quickly moved and swung the metal cuffs at the downed man. ¡°GAAAHHHH¡± The man¡¯s right eye had been hit. ¡°YOU BITCH!¡± The man was enraged and moved his right hand to cover his right eye. He used his free arm to reach for Sheng Fei and tried to lunge at them. But Sheng Fei accounted for this and shoved more needles in to the man¡¯s reaching palm. ¡°NGHH!!! YOU¡¯RE DEAD¡± The man took his hand off his eye and reached for something at his hip. Sheng Fei moved and swung the cuffs again. This time the man¡¯s knuckles were hit and he dropped his weapon. In the same movement, Sheng Fei also kicked the back of the man¡¯s knee, where the needles had pierced before. The man finally collapsed to the floor and Sheng Fei cuffed his hands behind his back. No sooner then he picked up the man¡¯s knife did he hear footsteps running away from the top of the stairs. Sheng Fei quickly raced to the top of the stairs to take care of the other man. BANG A bullet narrowly missed Sheng Fei and he dove in to the kitchen that was near the basement entrance. The other man was around a corner in the living room from what Sheng Fei could figure from the direction of the shot. ¡°GET OUT HERE SO I CAN FUCKING KILL YOU!¡± BANG BANG The man shot two random shots in to Sheng Fei¡¯s general direction. Sheng Fei thought of a plan and prayed that it would work. He grabbed a pan from the counter that he was crouched behind and threw it. BANG The other man shot at it as it flew in to the living room. BANG BANG BANG As the man unloaded his bullets at the kitchen, Sheng Fei seized the opportunity and quietly sneaked to the wall. He moved until he was right at the edge of the corner. The man finally got fed up and decided to rush the kitchen to kill Sheng Fei. But as soon as he walked past the corner. ¡°ARGH!¡± BANG Sheng Fei swung the other man¡¯s knife, which had serrated edges, at this man¡¯s wrist. The force of the slash mixed with surprise caused a shot to ring out at the ceiling. In his other hand, Sheng Fei had a knife that he grabbed from the kitchen. This knife went in to the man¡¯s stomach. STAB STAB STAB SLICE Sheng Fei quickly delivered three more blows to the man¡¯s stomach and finished with a slice to the neck. ¡°U . . U . u . uGhhh¡± Blood started to flow out of his neck and started to form a pool under him. BANG Sheng Fei grabbed the man¡¯s gun and finished him off so that his death wasn¡¯t long. WWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO They looked up and saw three helicopters land. The doors opened and soldiers started to pour out. There were about 18 men in total and they started to cut in the base¡¯s fence. But they weren¡¯t the reason the alarms were going off. A convoy of trucks had breached the main gate to the base and the MGs on them were firing at the guard towers. (Well looks like that¡¯s our cue) While the base was fighting off attackers on two fronts, Sheng Fei and Li Xiu entered in the other direction. Chapter 5: Stocking Up With Sheng Fei¡¯s memory of the base, Li Xiu managed to navigate it easily. But a problem arose when they reached the first door. It didn¡¯t have a key card reader but a number pad. (Huh looks like they went backwards in terms of security) (What do we do now? Time¡¯s running out and we don¡¯t belong to anyone here!) This was Li Xiu¡¯s first time experiencing anything of the sort and she was worried. The plan had already gone wrong and it was only a few minutes in. Sheng Fei on the other hand, had dozens of situations going wrong at different times. The one thing he always made sure to keep in mind, was to complete the mission. But the times he had failed, he always made sure to make some positive out of it. (I guess we¡¯ll have to use this now) (That was suppose for further in! What if we need that later?) (I don¡¯t want to wait around for a guard, we¡¯re going now!) Sheng Fei set the charge on the door and was just about to blow it when he realized something. (You know . . . I think blowing the lock is enough. This much C4 would take the whole wall out) He readjusted the amount and prayed. BOOM (Alright we¡¯re in) The door slowly opened and they ran inside. When they had got to the end of the hallway, Sheng Fei noticed that things were strange. It was too quiet and there were no signs of any soldiers anywhere. He made a note of it and carried on. They got to a computer and luckily it was still signed in to the base¡¯s database. Sheng Fei quickly went through the old records and skimmed some of the new ones. (Is everything still here?) Li Xiu wondered nervously. (Yes . . . but change of plans apparently, some of the items received further development. We¡¯re going to get the updated versions) (Wait it says some of these things were discontinued because they were dangerous! Death is the side of effect for a lot of these things) (It will be lethal . . . for our enemies that is) (NO! I refuse to let you just recklessly use my body like this!) (Come on! We¡¯re in a base under fire and everyone here will kill on us on sight. He was starting to let his emotions get the best of him. They wouldn¡¯t be able to carry out his revenge if they died from his recklessness. Sheng Fei found the item that he was looking for and noted it¡¯s box number. Luckily, all the things he wanted were stored in the older section of the base. This time when they found the door in to that section, it had a card reader. (I¡¯ll let you do the honors) Li Xiu scoffed at this and swiped the black card. The door made a noise and swung open.
¡°NOOO! SHIT!¡± Sheng Fei was outraged, and kicked the box. It knocked back in to some other boxes and Sheng Fei kept hitting things. (I thought you said it was here?) (The computer said it WAS! DAMN IT! Someone took the Heaven¡¯s Seal. That thing is more powerful than anything here! . . . no, it can¡¯t be) (What?) (Never mind, it¡¯s not important right now. We have to go arm ourselves first) Sheng Fei went over to another box and keyed in a few numbers. The box opened and revealed a sleek long sword. It was a very ominous looking black blade. (I thought about my children when I had those three blades created. I wanted to present them myself . . .) Li Xiu noticed that Sheng Fei felt a twinge of sadness from seeing this sword but it was brief. (This one, Phoenix Wing, was supposed to be for my eldest daughter. But it probably wouldn¡¯t have been used by her anyways. So, it¡¯s yours, Li Xiu . . .) ( . . . Thank you Sheng Fei, I know it means a lot to you) Sheng Fei picked up Phoenix Wing and suddenly sliced their palm. (OUCH!) (Don¡¯t worry, I¡¯m just registering the blade. It¡¯s bonding with your DNA. The nano tech research allowed us to make an evolving sword that couldn¡¯t be turned on you. Just think of it as a smart weapon) (That¡¯s great but now I¡¯m bleeding) (A good time to test this next thing out then) Sheng Fei grabbed another box and opened it. (It¡¯s the 3rd version of the Mercury Blood I had developed!) (This won¡¯t kill us, will it?) (Nope. It¡¯ll continuously heal us and I had it programmed to remove most known genetic anomalies. We can survive bullets and blade wounds as long as they aren¡¯t catastrophic. But decapitations and complete bodily destruction is out of the question) (And this is a failure?) (It was very expensive to develop so I had it hidden and plus apparently, they made a spin off 6th version that¡¯ll instantly heal any wounds. Whole limbs can be grown back in minutes if you bathe in it. All nanotech as well) Li Xiu marveled at how much this could help people but was sad at how it was developed for warfare alone. (Alright usually the dose is small but I want to use ALL of this) (WHAT!?) Li Xiu was very concerned at how Sheng Fei was going to get this much silver liquid in to them. The container for it was about the size of a 16oz water bottle and it was filled to the brim. (There¡¯s some equipment here to help us administer it quickly!) Before Li Xiu knew it, Sheng Fei had jerry rigged a device that would pump the entire solution in to them. (Ok we might feel a little sting from what I remember from the previous experiments) (Can y-AAAHAHGGGGGHHH!!!!) (!!!) Sheng Fei jammed in the needle and the nano solution started to pump in to Li Xiu¡¯s body. It was the most painful thing she ever experienced. It felt like someone skinned her, poured gasoline on her and finally light her on fire. Her mind was starting to black out and her body was starting to go in to shock. (LI XIU!! CONCENTRATE ON STAYING AWAKE! THE PROCEDURE IS ALREADY DONE) Li Xiu did her best to keep from passing out and eventually, the pain slowly subsided. (NEVER AGAIN! DO YOU HEAR ME!? I COULD¡¯VE DIED!) (If you lose consciousness, then you might¡¯ve ended up in a coma. But I was here with you, so I shared the pain. That¡¯s why I was confident that we could do it together) (Whatever, let¡¯s just get out of here!) (Two more things and we can go) Sheng Fei opened another box and grabbed a gun from it. It was called the Jackal and was a custom Black Phoenix design. But that wasn¡¯t why Sheng Fei grabbed it. Next to the gun was four magazines that had nine bullets each. (It looks like there¡¯s nanobots in the bullets) (Yep, these are set to kill other nanobots. And whether you have them or not, you¡¯ll eventually just die from total organ failure) (This sounds horrible!) (Yea that¡¯s why I never had it mass produced. At least this way, it won¡¯t be used on us) (What¡¯s the final thing?) (A face ma--) BANG BANG BANG ¡°Ugh¡± The bullets fell to the floor but Li Xiu was mostly unharmed. Although it didn¡¯t pierce them, they could still feel the pain from the shots. (I guess we don¡¯t have to test it out ourselves) Sheng Fei and Li Xiu turned around to see a large man pointing a gun at them. Chapter 6: VS Rat ¡°I saw that the 13th acolyte¡¯s card was used, so I was curious as to why they would be sneaking in to here. But all I found was trash trying to steal from us!¡± ¡°That¡¯s rich coming from you! Mr. Rat?¡± ¡°Hahaha Rat? We shall see who will be squished! Who are you anyway? These force fields render your bullets useless, why don¡¯t you come a little closer?¡± Shao Li then put two metal gauntlets on his arms and hit his fists together. CLANG ¡°No? Then HERE I COME! RAAHHHH¡± Shao Li lunged at Li Xiu with the ferocity of a beast, intending to pummel her to death. (This man is more of a gorilla than a rat!) Sheng Fei thought as he made them leap backwards. SLICE SLICE They spun and slashed two of the metal poles holding the shelf and many boxes came crashing down. The boxes had valuable and sensitive things inside them, so Shao Li made sure not to hit them very hard. This allowed Li Xiu and Sheng Fei time to run away, even if it was only for a few seconds. Shao Li dropped his pistol as it seemed that Li Xiu was also unaffected by bullets. This was a fight to be determined by their blades and fists alone!

He had a surprisingly large amount of agility for someone his size. As he lunged, he prepared a right hook but Sheng Fei moved Li Xiu just in time. Instead of hitting her face, the punch landed on her chest and sent her flying back in to a shelf. ( S . . Sheng Fei this . . . really hurts) (I know, let me handle this! Give me full control! It¡¯ll minimize the pain you feel. Trust me, I¡¯ll win. It can¡¯t end here!) (Okay, just -) (Yea, yea don¡¯t do anything stupid, right? Well watch and learn, here¡¯s some of my techniques!) Sheng Fei got up and started to hobble away, he cut down as many shelfs as he could to slow down Shao Li. But Shao Li didn¡¯t care, he was just taking a small stroll. He even made sure to stack some of the boxes back up. Li Xiu¡¯s right leg hurt to walk on, but Sheng Fei knew it would heal in time . . . maybe. Her back was aching too and her lungs were on fire, but Sheng Fei was trying his best to ignore the pain. ¡°WHO IS THE TRUE HEIR? HAHAHA I GET MORE TROUBLE FROM THE NEW RECRUITS!¡± THUMP ¡°Aaagh!¡± Shao Li threw another box and caught Li Xiu¡¯s left arm. Sheng Fei felt it twist strangely and was down to using one arm for now. ¡°HMPH!¡± Shao Li was mildly entertained and threw several boxes. CRASH CRASH CRASH ¡°AGH!¡± Sheng Fei cut the first box in half and used the momentum to cut the second one too. He used Li Xiu¡¯s right leg to kick the last one. Her leg had healed enough to be walked on but Sheng Fei ignored the pain. Shao Li stopped the box with his foot and smiled. ¡°Seems like you still have some fight left!¡± ¡°Don¡¯t you have to fight off the attackers?¡± ¡°I believe in my men. But this just a taste of the pain you¡¯ll feel, you WILL tell me how you got that card! You are not nearly strong enough to even be considered a comrade to me!¡± (Alright, Li Xiu watch this. I called it the first stance) Sheng Fei took a deep breath and start to run with Phoenix Wing. CLANG CLANG CLANG Sheng Fei unleashed a flurry of rapid full force slashes. He then switched it up and threw more attacks. CLANG CLANG CLANG Every slash Sheng Fei swung at Shao Li, he then arced in to a piercing blow. Shao Li held his fists up and took Sheng Fei¡¯s attacks with his gauntlets. No matter how strong Sheng Fei swung, Shao Li was taking it with great stride. (Damn, this mountain will take forever to take down!) ¡°Impressive! But if you get any faster, then you won¡¯t be able touch me!¡± ¡°I was wondering about that, it¡¯s the belt, isn¡¯t it?¡± ¡°Sorry little girl but you¡¯re a couple years too early to even try! And now it¡¯s MY TURN!¡± Although Sheng Fei could react to Shao Li¡¯s blows, even in Li Xiu, blocking his gauntlet was not viable with Phoenix Wing. So, he spun to his left to dodge the blow and swung Phoenix Wing to take out Shao Li¡¯s belt. TING ¡°TCH!¡± Sheng Fei finally took out Shao Li¡¯s shield and prepared to go full force now. The ferocity with which he wanted to use Li Xiu¡¯s body would tear her muscles apart slowly. But thanks to the Mercury Blood, he could enjoy battle just like he once did in his body. Li Xiu¡¯s body finally healed enough and Sheng Fei felt all the pieces fall together for his victory. (Let¡¯s try this again) Sheng Fei focused even more and could feel things slow down a little. [First Form: Phoenix Rage] ¡°HAAAAAAAAAH¡± He entered an enraged state and ran at Shao Li with Phoenix Wing prepared for blood. ¡°RAAAAAAAAAH¡± Shao Li accepted the challenge and rushed forward as well. Sheng Fei put his body on full auto and let his instincts take over his clear mind. He reacted to Shao Li at an even higher speed than before. Sheng Fei had merely used a feint to make Shao Li recklessly lunge. ¡°AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!¡± Shao Li was a righty and used his right arm to attack first. This was why Sheng Fei was able to slash his torso diagonally and take off his arm at the elbow. Shao Li howled in pain and clutched his elbow in his stomach. Sheng Fei smiled and flicked the blood off of Phoenix Wing before putting it back in to the sheath. ¡°I win, RAT! It was a shame I couldn¡¯t finish you in one blow. Now, will you yield to the True Heir, Sheng Xiu?¡± ¡°NEVER!¡± Shao Li screamed in defiance and pulled out a long silver rod from his pocket. PSSSH Sheng Fei was dumbfounded and wondered just how so much changed in the time he had been gone? ¡°RRRRAAAGGGHHH¡± Shao Li started to sweat profusely but he held his sliced off limb tightly. His arm was starting to reconnect with his elbow!
