 (Arc I - The University) Prologue

    I heard the world was broken.


    Buildings collapsed and streets were torn, bridges overturned, sending fleeing pedestrians and vehicle wreckage flying into the sea. The communication towers exploded, and planes flew on a collision course, crashing and falling to the ground in fiery heaps. Mountain''s shifted, covering villages and cities in their path with rock and soil, and deep caverns underground collapsed in on themselves, burying the miners inside alive. Oceans moved, waves crashing onto unsuspecting shores, destroying the beaches and washing away homes. Thousands of cries echoed out, as people disappeared under the ground of the shifting earth.


    The Organization called it: The Tremor.And it was the event that changed the world as we knew it, forever.


    The only chance humaity had left of every recovering from the destruction, was to begin anew. Arkis...Arkis was the place to start it all. It first started off as a small colony, but it eventually grew into a massive city, home to various different districts, and now inhabitated by a majority of the 40% left over from The Tremor.


    It is here thatcertain curious individuals began to show up among the 40%. People with incredible mental and physical powers, beyond what a normal human would ever be able to do. And it was because of the rise of awareness surounding these people, that the Organization created the University...A place where these gifted few would begin the learn to harness their abilities.

    I have been blessed with the oppurtunity of meeting a few of these individuals in what I assume to be the last days of my life, and they truly are the future of our world, whether they know it or not.

    The last page of the old book began to crumble, as the man traced his fingers over the last few words.


    Cryptic, indeed...But truly facinating.


    The man stood up from his seat. He''d picked the most secluded and quiet part of The Great Library for his study; not that there was anyone here normally anyway.Once at the front of the desk, and after gently tapping the old sleeping librarian woman on the shoulder, he signed the book out and exited.


    Walking down the hallway, lined of either side by large stone collumns, he made his way out of the entrance hall of the Library, and out into Kalak Street. Taking in a breath of fresh air, the man let out a sigh. The library was stuffy and made his dust allergies go crazy. However it was all worth it, especially now that he had what he had been searching for.


    The man smiled with a newfound determination. All his years of hard searching hadn''t been for nothing after all!


    The man gripped the book firmly in his hands, and stared up down the street, and up further beyond past multiple city blocks and buildings, and set his sights on the largest building in Arkis: the towering headquarters of the Organization.


    Time to get to work.
