《Let me go!》 This isnt my life Pamela: The clapping dies down, and I do my best to smile. ¡°Thank you so much for coming here to listen to my new album! I appreciate that you could have been anywhere, but you chose to be here.¡± I say, and wait for the audience to be silent. ¡°Goodbye!¡± I shout, and wave as I walk off the stage. I am a famous singer, Pamela Winter. Being a singer is not easy. You can¡¯t sing songs that are difficult, you could ruin your voice. You have to deal with fans, paparazzi, and haters. You have to sing every night, with little free time. I see my boss, Jeremy Grays approach. He has a look of glee on his face. ¡°That was a very good performance, Pamela! This is the reason we are famous throughout the world¡± he says, gesturing to the wild audience. If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. I¡¯m the only reason he has enough money to live. He is very rich, while I have barely enough money. He waves me off to my assistant, who leads me to my room. ¡°You may leave now.¡± I say. After she leaves, I sigh. What I would give for a different life! ¡±Pamela, time to wake up! We¡¯re going to have a big day today!¡± I wake up to the sound of Jeremy opening the curtains. Usually he¡¯s not allowed in my room, so I guess Marilynn, my assistant let him in. ¡°Ok, ok. I get it. Today is a big day, and you need me up early.¡± I mutter, and finally he leaves. All day, I have a disturbing thought in the back of my head, making it hard to concentrate. ¡°Run away!¡± It whispers, louder and louder. ¡°Fine!¡± I say aloud. I don¡¯t think I¡¯ll feel bad for Jeremy, he¡¯s sort of mean, and has enough money to last him a lifetime. But I¡¯m not so sure about Marilynn, because she has always felt sorry for me. I like her, even if she is very, very quiet. So I tell her my idea, and she looks relieved, as if she was going to suggest it to me. So we start to plan. I will be a superstar Marilynn: I am Marilynn. I don''t have an interesting life. I would kill to have Pamela Winters life. Be super rich and famous. So when she said "I don''t want this life. I want to run away" I exclaimed "That''s an amazing idea. I''ll be you and I don''t think Jeremy will know. Could you give me lessons?" "I would love to. Thanks for helping me Marilynn." Pamela cried. So we started training right away. Now she hands me a red wig with a strand of purple in it and I stuff all my golden curls in the wig. Pamela next hands me a sparkly silver tank top to try on behind a red velvet curtain. I slip it on over my head and it fits like a glove. Pamela stuffs the black leggings into my hands so I slip them on and they fit perfectly. I slip out from the curtain and showed her.The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. "You look amazing!" Pamela gushes. "Thanks Pamela" I say, thankfully. "Now singing!" Pamela exclaims. "Ok, my favourite song of yours is My heart is yours! I would like to sing it" I suggest. Pamela nods and walks over to the piano a little upbeat. She starts to play the intro. "When I walk alone through the shady mists of sorrow you pick me up and carry me. Oh, my heart is yours And I''ll always be with you right in your arena" Pamela and I sing. She plays the last chord and gets up from the piano. "That was great with no practice or anything. I think this plan may just work!" Pamela congratulates me. "Well, actually I sing along with you quietly." I say, truthfully, "Here I''ll help you pack" "Ok, Marilynn" Pamela says, approvingly. So we start packing. Finally, I鈥檓 free Pamela: I can¡¯t believe Marilynn agreed! Luckily, she has a good voice, similar to mine. She has my build, and can wear makeup to cover her freckles. One flaw is she thinks I¡¯m rich. Everyone does. Only Jeremy and I know that I have little more money than the average person. It¡¯s jeremys fault. But I hear that there is almost a million dollars or more coming in, because of my new album. It turned out to be the greatest hit in history! ¡±knock knock!¡± Marilynn says, walking into my room. ¡°Hi, M. Ready for tonight?¡± I ask. ¡°Yeah. I came to help you pack.¡± She says quietly. We pack in silence, and I wonder if I¡¯m making the right choice. Then I stumble across my first albums poster. That really makes me hesitate. I¡¯d also had fun here! But then I hear Jeremy¡¯s voice. ¡°Come on, Winter girl! If you¡¯re late to practice, I¡¯ll make you wish you were never born!¡± He shouts, making all hesitation disappear. You¡¯d better go practice, Marilynn.¡± I say, and giggle at Marilynn¡¯s shocked face. As I walk down the hall I stop at the front doors. Adrenaline is in my veins, and I can hear my heartbeat. I have a flashback of the first time I saw this place. If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. ¡°Hello?¡± I shout. ¡°Who are you?¡± A voice answers. ¡°My name is Pamela Winter. I¡¯m here to get a job as a singer.¡± I shout. ¡°Ha! How old are you?¡± ¡°Ten¡± I step outside. The door creaks shut. I pull on my wig. I¡¯m free. Now to find the airport. My life isn鈥檛 easy, either Jeremy: I try not to be too mean. I can¡¯t help it. It¡¯s not who I am, but it¡¯s who I have to be. My father was very strict when I was a boy. He said, ¡°if someone doesn¡¯t work as hard as you want them to, take something away from them.¡±This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. So I try that method with the Winter girl. I never cared for the name Pamela, so I call her by her last name. I can¡¯t help hating her a little bit. She reminds me too much of my mother, who died when I was 12. Finally, Winter walks in. ¡°What took you so long?¡± I demand. ¡°Don¡¯t answer. No time can be wasted. Get started.¡± I say. She starts singing, but as usual, I stop listening after the first couple of songs. Singing onstage for the first time Marilynn: Pamela left as I walk into Jeremy''s room for practice. I''m glad she got safely away. Now all I have to do is sneak away, and get to Finland. "COME ON WINTER GIRL AND START SINGING!" Jeremy screams. Ok, so that was a teeny bit scary. I wonder if Pamela had to deal with him. So I start singing one of the new songs Pamela gave me. As I get through the second song I can tell Jeremy''s stopped listening so I stop singing.Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon. "Well, what are you waiting for get at it girl!" Jeremy booms. "Any tips? And I only sing for people who listen" I say. "Ungh! Fine, go out there and sing for them. They want to hear you." Jeremy slams the door in my face. Singing in a large crowd? I''ve never dreamed I''d do this. The thought makes me nervous. So I walk calmly to the stage, through the curtains and onstage. The crowd goes wild. I start singing the first couple of songs but than it starts to get really boring so for the third song I accidentally sing a different song that comes from my heart. After the crowd goes wild. I step off the stage, happily. Arriving in Finland Pamela: I¡¯m in Finland! Everything is so strange here! It¡¯s quite cold, even though it¡¯s summer. ¡°Hey Siri, what¡¯s the weather?¡± I ask. ¡°It¡¯s currently 64 degrees Fahrenheit.¡± Siri answers. Sheesh, that¡¯s cold for summer! I put my hoodie on, and walk inside. I would put the hood up, it¡¯s cozy, but I¡¯m worried it¡¯ll disturb my wig. An employee approaches. ¡°Moi, tarvitsetko sin? apua?¡± She says. ¡°Um... sorry, I don¡¯t speak...Finnish.¡± I say, hoping she speaks English. ¡°Or I speak Swedish.¡± I say.The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation. ¡°English is fine. My name is Aura, after the river. Can I help you?¡± She asks. Aura seems nice. She looks like she¡¯s about my age... but I don¡¯t think they¡¯d let a 16 year old work here. ¡°Yes, please. Is there Wi-Fi here? I promised I¡¯d call my friend when I got here.¡± I say. Aura says there is, and tells me the address. Then when she leaves, I check the time in LA. 19:16. I should have just enough time to call Marilynn before the next concert, at 19:30. I call her. Beep beep. Beep beep. ¡°Hello?¡± " Marilynn! Hi. How was the first concert? Did it go well?¡± ¡°Oh, hi Pamela! It went pretty well! On one song, I accidentally sang the chorus twice, but no one noticed and sang a different song from my heart. Anyways, Jeremy doesn¡¯t suspect a thing. I booked a ticket for tomorrow morning. It should find them enough time for finding a replacement singer.¡± ¡°Yay! Do you know where the airport is?¡± ¡°Yes. And the money for the new album came in. We¡¯re rolling rich!¡± ¡°Even if Jeremy took most of it?!¡± ¡°Yep! I¡¯m bringing it with me. We¡¯ll have to change it into Euros, though.¡± ¡°Yeah, I thought of that. You¡¯d better go, now. Bye!¡± ¡°Bye!¡± I sigh. It¡¯s so good to talk to Marilynn again. I miss her already. But now I¡¯d better find a hotel. Punishment A/N: in this chapter, there will be very slightly traumatizing content. Nothing I couldn¡¯t handle writing! Hopefully I don¡¯t make it abuse Marilynn: uh oh. Jeremy suspects something. He¡¯s been looking at me weirdly all day. ¡°Marilynn?¡± He says suddenly. I look at him. Oops. That was a test. I¡¯m in big trouble. ¡°Come with me right now, young lady. You¡¯ll wish you were never born, I¡¯ll promise you that.¡± He snarls, and walks away, with me trailing close behind. We come to his room. He ties me to his bed, and pulls out a knife. ¡°Now I¡¯m going to ask you some questions, and if im not satisfied with your answers, then, well.¡± He holds up the knife. ¡°First question. Where is Pamela?¡± ¡°In Finland. She ran away two nights ago.¡± I say, my voice shaking. ¡°Where in Finland?¡± He presses, touching the knife to my arm. ¡°In Turku!¡± I basically shout. ¡°Ok. Why didn¡¯t you tell me? I¡¯m your boss.¡± He says. I can¡¯t find an answer that would be the truth. ¡°I-uh....¡± he cuts all the way down my arm. I whimper, worried if I scream he¡¯ll do more. The pain is unbearable. ¡°Ok. Wrong answer. Now let¡¯s continue.¡± So we do. When I walk out, I have a bleeding cut from my left shoulder to my left wrist, a deep cut in my leg, and a smallish cut in my side. I immediately wash them, and go to my room. I hear Jeremy say, ¡°lock the doors. Don¡¯t let Pamela get away.¡± Interesting. He¡¯s still pretending I¡¯m Pamela for the staff. I hate him. How could he do this? Did he do it to Pamela? I don¡¯t know. Now is the time to find an escape plan.If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. Panic and another flight Pamela: I''m in my hotel room chillaxing on my bed, reading an adventure novel called The land of stories, when I get a phone call from Marilynn. It totally freaks me out escpecially when she says, "It''s Jeremy. He''s going to find you. He cut me if I didn''t give him the answer he wanted to hear. I don''t know where you go. Text me if you know where. It''s to risky over the phone. Kay, Bye!" And then hangs up.Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. I have a mini panic attack and start crying right on my bed. It''s too much for me. How could we have been found out? We did such a good job hiding ourselves. I think, angrily. Once I finally stop crying, I pick up the phone and dial the number to the local airport. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. " Hello?" An annoyed teenager answered. "Hi, I''d like to book a flight to England." I replied. "Ok, What''s your name?" He asked. "Pamela Winters" I answered. "Ok, that would be 100$, and be here at 10:00 sharp." The boy demanded. "Fine! Bye." I hung up. Now I have to text Marilynn. She said so in the phone call. I text her, I booked a flight to England. The great escape Marilynn: I finish packing my rather small bag, and flop down on Pamela¡¯s bed. Someone knocks and comes in. ¡°You ready for tomorrow?¡± Jeremy asks, coming in. ¡°Yeah. Just packing.¡± I say. He leaves without another word. The minute the door closes, I jump up and grab my bag, feeling the adrenaline rush through me. This is it, I guess. I open the window, and peek around, looking for guards or something. No one but me. I look through Pamela¡¯s drawers, and find 7 scarves. That¡¯s a lot. I tie them together, then tie the end of one to a hook in the room. I hold on to the ¡°rope¡± and duck through the window. It¡¯s harder than I originally thought. Luckily, as a child I loved rock climbing. When I¡¯m halfway down, with about 6 feet below me, I hear splinters.Stolen story; please report. ¡°No, no! Oh, gosh, no!¡± I whisper, and feel like swearing, though I¡¯ve never done that in my life. After a couple seconds, I think I¡¯m safe, and start climbing again. Then, snap. Suddenly I¡¯m on my back, hardly able to breath. My bag is next to me, and a few things have fallen out. I lie there, trembling for a moment. I wince as I get up, and repack. Yup, the hook and ¡°rope¡± was lying on the ground in front of me. I think, maybe I should take those with me. It¡¯s cold in Finland... but then my phone beeps. It¡¯s Pamela. Booked a flight 2 England. C U soon. Ok... I guess I¡¯m going to England, then. Ok. I text back. BTW, we''ll have to get new names in England. Does Pammy sound good? Or Pam. Or even Ella. She texts. Idk. I¡¯ve always liked the name Ella. Mine can be Lin. But only in public, because I like our names. Also, where in England? I type. Not London... maybe York? I tell her ok, then put my phone down. I hear someone knocking on my door upstairs, so I run to the airport as fast as humanly possible. I can¡¯t believe I did it!
