《The Mimic》 Chapter 1: The beginning-Updated I''ve updated this chapter, its a bit different now so it might feel strange with the next chapter, if you see this UPDATED, on the next chapter, it should be fine. Advertisement Remove Chapter 1: The Beginning Life can be a cruel thing. I¡¯ve known that all my life. His thoughts pour out of him, like an open faucet, as he remembers his life up to the very moment he finds himself in. He remembers his mother, his terrifying mother, the woman who ruined him. The thought makes him seethe with anger. "STOP!! FOLLOWING ME!!" He yells at the sound of running footsteps, with each second that passes, the sound grows closer and closer. Adventurers, he thought, I don¡¯t know why they are after me, but one of them is certainly a woman. The ordinarily dark cave begins to light up red, with It, a stream of heat. The creature turns around to see¡¯s four things. A large ball of fire, covering nearly the entire hallway, the next thing he sees is a small child running towards the ball of fire, and finally, he sees, a woman and man chasing after the girl. The girl had summoned a ball of fire so that she could see the hallway, she is clever, far more intelligent than an ordinary child, but her heart betrays her, it was beating fast, her mind, rampant with hundreds of thoughts. Thoughts of her parents, thoughts of their safety, and thoughts of her dear friend who was still in a dangerous place. She wants to save them, but how can she, when she can¡¯t even save herself? In the distance, the monster sees, a large hole, the bottom nowhere to be seen. The monster tries to stop, but then remembers the fireball, the monster jumps into the hole, making sure to grab hold of the stone floor beforehand. Swizzz, the fire passes him, he gives a sigh of relief, imagining what would have happened if he had jumped a second later. He sees the adventurers roasting Marshmallows over his roasted corpse. The footsteps grow closer, they aren¡¯t stopping like he did. Do they have some way of jumping over this hole? As he thought this, the little girl falls into the hole, her eyes open with fright the moment she realizes that she has stepped onto nothing. She tries to grab hold of the stone, to find wooden branches dangling about. She doesn¡¯t question why there are branches near the hole, nor does she think of the monster that had been ahead of them only a few seconds before. She can''t afford to think of that, instead, she grips tightly on the branches, with all her might, shutting her eyes in fear of the Adventurers that would surely find her. "Ahh!!!" A scream fills the dark hole, then a second scream. The young girl feels her leg yanked by a strong hand, the man''s weight is too much for such a small girl, her hand begins to loosen its grip on the branch. Her tears start to sear her cheeks. I want to see my mama and papa again, she makes her final plea to gods, as her hands slip off the branches, her body falls into the darkness. The adventure lets go of her realizing that now they were both going to die. He tries to listen for the girl¡¯s screams, but it doesn¡¯t come. He didn''t know it why, how could he? The Girl was safe, she didn''t fall into the dark abyss like they had; because at the last moment as she felt her body drop, her arm was grabbed onto by branches, they coiled around her arm. She nearly screamed as she heard her arm make a popping sound, but she stood silent, in fear of what had taken hold of her.Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author. Her dark vision is weaker than most, but she can identify walls and some shade of grey. She can see the monster in front of her. It is made of splintered wood mashed in some horrid way, its only organs a beating heart at the center and its eyes, held by a vein of wood, towered above, peering at her. It is the monster, he grabbed hold of her before she could fall. He couldn¡¯t watch and let a child die, it is against his nature, against the job he had in his previous life. He looks at her, wondering if he should let go or save her. She is only a child, he tells himself, but she will grow up to be a woman. Women can''t be trusted, they will hurt others. That¡¯s a ridiculous notion, and you know it!! Save her!! NO!! what if she hurts someone when she is older. Then I¡¯ll deal with it then. Save her, what if she is good? What if she is like... There is no one like her. The monster stops his conversation, the mention of her disturbs him. The exception to the rule. The only good Woman, though she was still considered a girl at that time. The monster begins to lift the child out of the abyss and into the equally dark pathway. The girl whimpers as she softly rubs her arm, it hurt so much, all she can think to do is hold it to soothe the pain. The monster knows what has happened. Her should is dislocated, he thought, when I grabbed her arm, her body must have pulled it hard enough to dislocate it. The monster learned the Human Anatomy, and that of many other animals, in his previous life, he wasn''t the best of his class, but he is the only one to retain the information for this long. The monster reaches for the girl, she flinches, her tears fall thicker than before. He tendril gently wraps itself around her should, the girl feels as sharp pain and she yelps with a "Agh!" , the pain quickly subsides. He saved me, she thinks, as she looks at her shoulder. The pain is gone, but it¡¯s still sore. The monster, now content with his job, begins to walk off into the dungeon halls. His stomach growled, as his eyes searched for a poor monster rabbit to appear before him. It is what has been sustaining him for the 6 days he''s been in the dungeon. At first, he was scared, but now, he almost felt comfortable in the dungeon halls, shrouded in darkness. Life wasn''t too hard, he hunted for food and ran from stronger monsters, it is simple, far simpler than life with others. ¡°mei hal!!¡± the sudden scream, makes the monster turn his eyes towards its origin; the little girl looks at him, the monster almost giggles as he sees her struggling to make eye contact. He knew his body is now that of a monster, but he didn¡¯t think the reaction would be this strong. "Sei thaes, ji." The monster intertwines his wood, forming something resembling a human face. The girl jumps backward, not expecting such sophisticated movements from a monster of such a low intellect. The face looked at her, tilting the head to one side. A near-universal sign meaning "I don''t understand." She didn''t expect it to understand, she didn''t expect it to respond. The monster before her isn''t normal, it didn''t hurt her, it even helped her, it saved her. ¡°ha sem ji roa¡± She says as she points to herself and then to it, asking if she could go with it. The monster responds in kind. "No" of course he doesn''t actually speak, to him, speaking is making clacking sounds with the wooden tendrils near his eyes. It terrified the girl because all she sees is the human-like face split in half and clack as it opens and closes shut. His words aren''t lost on her because in the same moment as his speech, he points to her with a human hand, that he forms using wood, and then points to the opposite direction of the monster. Then he points to himself and points to a different direction. His meaning is clear, ¡°Let¡¯s go our separate ways¡± The little girl stands her ground, she shakes her head and walks close to the monster, grabs the human hand, looking him straight into its bright green eyes. The monster responds by lifting her by her hand, moving her face close to his. If refusing her doesn¡¯t get her to listen, I know what will, the monster thinks as he begins to change his face into something more monstrous. His new face is filled with jagged teeth, its nose sharp, his eyes shifting into an expression of anger. ¡°he, hehe¡± The girl begins laughing, counter to the monster¡¯s expectations. Why is she? He thinks, I thought that that would work, look at her, laughing like an idiot, what if I tried to eat her? The monster puts the girl down In surrender and nods with his newly made face. ¡°I guess I have to get her safely out of here now.¡± the monsters frowns, knowing that his peaceful days of slaughtering monster rabbits for food are over. chapter 2: Annoying Chapter 2: Annoying I once again find myself consuming some fresh rabbit meat. Emm. It taste pretty good after you get use to the sliminess and blood. Though that is perhaps because my taste buds are no longer that of a human¡¯s. Just as I am munching on the dead animals bones; I see in the corner of my eye I can see a curious little girl, staring at me with a gaze similar to that of a diligent student, to her teacher. That idiotic little girls has been following me ever since yesterday when her guardians died. She doesn¡¯t seem to be upset with the fact the I pretty much got them killed. Though what also piques my interest is, her ability to follow me in the darkness of this cave. In my short time in this world I have ecountered other humans other than her and the other two; and one thing I¡¯ve noticed is that all the humans down here carry torches with them. So humans in this world clearly don¡¯t have the ability to see in complete darkness, like I do. Well whatever, I am trying to get out of this cave so it may actually be a smart move for her to follow me. Though I wish she would stop following me in such an odd way; I say to myself as I see the, very energetic, girl do a side roll to avoid my gaze. Now that I am done eating I guess it¡¯s time to find my way out this place. So far I have explored most of this place, I am sure of it. I have been using the places I¡¯ve seen humans as a marker to where an exit could be. When I think about all the people I¡¯ve seen I can come up with three distinct areas, that the people have been coming from. With my new detailed memory, I form in my mind the image of the humans I have encountered thus far and the location I saw them coming from. Yes, three areas. The most recent is the little girl and those two dead idiots. If my sense of direction is correct they came from that direction. I move my gaze to the empty corrido; only to see the girl, still on my trail. She moves her legs back quickly in a cartoonish fashion, in surprise, as soon as she spots me. What an idiotic little girl. As I get closer, she springs herself towards the wall and tries to flatten her body, as if that would hide her from me. Hehehaha. What and odd child. This no time to do such things kid I say to myself; knowing she wouldn¡¯t understand me, even if I spoke aloud. My little walk takes about half an hour, little girl in tow, until I reach an unfamiliar place. On my way, here, I realized that the little girl is a lot stronger than she looks. While I was fighting a Giant mole type monster. During the fight, another monster came up behind me. Before I could even think of turning around, the giant moles claws were already swinging downwards. In the brief moment of the swing toward my head, a Fire ball appeared out of nowhere and hit the mole monster. The I looked at the little girl, in shock. I turn back to my original enemy and try to finish it off quickly. Once I end the moles life I turn my attention to the other one only to find it dead at the little girl¡¯s feet; Her face covered in beads of sweat and her back arched forward in exhaustion. The attack from behind has made me realize how lucky I have been. When I first arrived my ability to fight was pathetic. In fact, the only reason I even risked my neck that first day, and fought, was because my hunger was killing me. I had no choice but to fight, it was a fierce battle but I won by a thin margin. From then it became easier and easier to kill the rabbits. ¡°sellen gos ne?(???) A voice a bit ahead of me echoed throughout the cave. Agh great humans. I¡¯d rather not pointlessly kill them. Wait¡ I think to myself for moment. I move the floating balls, held only by my branches, I call eyes and turn to the little girl. This will get the kid out of my hair, though I suppose she hasn¡¯t been causing me much problems. The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. I try to form words; but instead of a human voice, The words that come out are deep sounding knocks, frightening the girl more than she already was. The girl jumps back a little as I try speak. Then the torch¡¯s reach our location and illuminate the small corridor. My vision blurs for a moment and a brief pain hits my brain. Do I have a brain? My vison clears and the first thing I see is the little girl, her mouth open so wide I swear her jaw was about to unhinge, and her eyes as big as an anime characters. ¡°Goh goh goh¡± was the sound I made but what I am thinking is. ¡°Please don¡¯t scream again.¡± ¡°AGHHDJFGJDJ.¡± She screamed¡ I look back to the two humans, nervous that they may get the wrong idea, that brought the torches. Two men this time; one, thin and covered with armor of some type, with a sword at his waist, and the other as big, in more ways than one, as a boulder holding a club in one hand and shield in the other. ¡°GITZZ!!!¡± Suddenly I feel the warmth of a human and a small tug at my branches. The little girl was holding onto my branches closing her eyes as tightly as she could. It seems she knows these guys; but her fear for them is stronger than her fear me, it seems. ¡°Gi ta gen mimic.¡±(Girl) ¡°Gyeo mente pa!!¡±(Girl) Well this is a problem. ¡°Mei tem get nak!!¡± The Boulder man yelled. That isn¡¯t going to convince anyone idiot. The girl¡¯s warmth leaves my branches and before I know it she is walking towards them. What?? So, she does know them. My mistake, or so I thought. ¡°Meo Yei!! Meo yei!!¡±(Girl) She yelled at the top her lungs as she struggled to turn her head and look at me, her legs still walking towards the two men. From here I can see that she is in tears, she was pleading for my help. For a moment, I was confused but then I saw it. On her neck, a black collar, now glowing a slight purple hue. I quickly grabbed the small girl. Her eyes widen for a moment but the two men were the most surprised. I took their surprise as an opportunity to rip the collar. I gripped the collar around her neck and gripped opposite ends and began to force it apart. The collar stung my Branches with a strange kind of pain but nothing to horrible. As soon as the collar was torn off her neck the began to glow red and burst into small rays of light. Wo, that could have been bad If I had done that too slowly. The two men stood there in complete surprise at what had just transpired. I tightened my wooded limbs tightly together and grabbed the girl, moving her behind me, to protect her from the two men. ¡°SEO!!¡±(girl) The girl screamed, most probably, with tears in her eyes. The two men were brought back to reality with that angered scream of hers. After a few moments of silence the two mens face began to look almost demon like with how red their cheeks began to glow. Looks like these morons are about to start a fight. Boulder man starts it; with an attack with his club. As soon as his club reaches my branch like limbs, I move them in the direction his hit is going. This causes him to tumble like a bowling pin to the ground. *Slam* He hits the ground hard, and begins to squeal like a pig. ¡°GOH GOH GOH!!!¡± In other words, ¡°SHUT THE FUCK UP!!¡±. I sharpen three of my limbs use them to pierce the Boulder man¡¯s neck. If You are a big man when it comes to kidnaping children but not when fighting monster then you are nothing a but a pathetic insignificant piece of garbage. I Extend my tendrils deeper into the man¡¯s neck and slither my wooden limbs up his neck and into his skull. His brain should be mush my now. I then extend two of the three tendrils and make them exit out of his eye sockets and the third out of his throat. I hold him up for the other Thug to see. This is an intimidation tactic. Corpse frighten humans, because they show the inevitability if our own mortality. There exists few humans who can conquer this fear and even fewer who are born not caring about their own mortality. I am the latter. Death does not cause me fear nor delight. My life has always been hell so if anything, death is an end to this misery. Even so, I find myself protecting a small child, a girl no less, one I only just met, against these men I do not know. It would be so easy to just let the girl go with them. But I cannot. The only person I have ever held dear in this world will not let me. Even in her death I can still hear her voice. It is haunting me, always telling me to do the right thing.; but am I doing the right thing? Is murder justifiable to protect someone? I do not know, the question is to complex and the situation, grey. I only know that in this moment that is what I feel I must do. The thug stays paralyzed, in fear, looking at his friend¡¯s corpse, then a large flame burst out of nowhere and hits the thug dead on. He begins to squirm around the ground and screams as the flame consumes his body and eats at his flesh. He yells some unintelligible words but they are more than likely cries for help. I am not so heartless I say to myself, as I thrust my sharpened branch like limbs into his eye sockets. I¡¯ll kill you quickly. Chapter 3: Boss Chapter 3 Boss The little girl isn¡¯t hiding from me anymore. Though she has been a bit more annoying now, with all her skipping and singing. I¡¯d tell her to shut up but I feel that I am responsible for her safety; now that I¡¯ve killed two more idiots, protecting her. If she were to run away and get herself killed, it would upset me, only a bit though. It has been about two hours since that incident with the thugs. The girl¡¯s bravery surprises me. The first time I saw a corpse was probably around her age but even I can¡¯t say I was calm during that time. Though perhaps the child has seen more death in her short life than I have seen in the entirety of mine. That would make the most sense. Even if this a fantasy world, it is still a world; and where there is people there is murder, rape, and many horrible atrocities. That is just human nature. The world is surely terrible, ain¡¯t that right Hope? I whisper to myself. She would probably tell me something like ¡°Even if it is terrible we can make it at least a bit better for those around us.¡± Her un-ending optimism was always contiguous. So, perhaps I can make this world a bit brighter by helping this kid get home safely. Distracted by my thoughts. I didn¡¯t realize that we have already reached some stairs, stairs that the lead upwards to another floor. Hmm I hadn¡¯t thought about whether I should go up or down. The little girl brushes passed me and commences her climb upward, with a walk reminiscent of the little engine that could, if that makes any sense. I suppose this is as good an answer as I am going to get. I follow the child up the spiral stairs, As she sings her hymn and prances up the stone stairs. Odd? These stairs feel and look manmade. Though I suppose this is a dungeon. Those things have magical properties, if I know my Rpgs. We reach the top after a short climb. What lay before us was an empty stone room filled with torches lighting the walls. All of them leading to the stairs we found ourselves climbing. If I didn¡¯t know any better, I¡¯d say this is a boss room. But where is the boss? Perhaps it hasn¡¯t respawned yet. Do monsters respawn in this world? The little girl tugs at the branches, that function as my legs, almost as if she felt uncomfortable in this room. Very well child. I won¡¯t stay here any longer than I need too. I want to leave this place, it is too dark for my taste anyways. What is supposed to be a small walk to one end of the room to other, felt strangely wrong. A slight chill ran up my spine, if I have one, and the girl griped my leg tightly, refusing to let go. She would even open her eyes, she just followed my lead only taking caution to not trip on uneven ground. *Silence* We get to the other side soon enough. The mood becomes lighter and the child opens her eyes, loosening her grip on me. It seems that we were worrying for nothing, I say as I am about to cross the small opening in the cave and out of the square room. While the room looks manmade; once past the door, it looks like an ordinary cave again. Then I heard a strange rickety sound coming from the walls. With my new vison, I am able to see ever so small movements that the small door-like l opening was making. It is going to slam Shut!!! I thought to myself as, The girl gleefully skipped towards the door. If I don¡¯t do anything she will be crushed. I extend my wooden tendrils and surround the girl¡¯s body, she lets of a small scream. As soon as I get a good grip I push her back into the boss room. A mere second after the Stone opening shuts closed. With the closing door came a strange gnarling sound behind us. The boss. Before I can even turn around by body, branches and all is slammed against the wall, the child getting pushed out of my grip in the process. Luckily she was outside this monsters range when it attacked, though I fear I may have injured her.Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation. ¡°Goh¡± The little girl screams and summons a fireball. The flame danced across, what I could now see was a golem. The flame raged but it didn¡¯t do a thing, no instead the red flames crawled off its stone body and onto mine. My body quickly began to glow red and grow hot, from the flames, that I can only describe as the feeling of freezing in the middle of winter, It is not exactly pain but I can¡¯t say it is not pain. Strange, is one of the ways You can describe the feeling of freezing. ¡°Soi! Soi!! Soi!!¡± At the corner of my eye I can see the little girl crying. She screamed words I did not understand, even so her feelings is well heard. "Do not fret child. I hold no anger towards you. Humans fear death, you did what you thought would increase you chance to live. You acted out of fear.¡± I know she doesn¡¯t understand me. Why am trying to comfort her when I am the one dying? I try to pierce the golems body with my burning branches to little avail. Hmm I haven¡¯t tried that have I? I say to myself as I think of the items I have with me. After eating rabbit after rabbit, I realized that their bones were not leaving my body. Yes, while the meat was somehow digested, the rabbits bones teeth and all still remain lodged all around my body, perhaps I can forge teeth from the dead rabbits corpse, to chomp on this golem. I quickly retrieve the rabbits carcasses, scattered all across my body, and tear them apart, the golem slams me against the wall once more,¡± GUHH!!¡± I let a small yell escape me, though it¡¯s origin I cannot determine. The construction is already underway. I know exactly where to aim. At the center of the golem lay a Glowing red crystal if I can just destroy that, I am sure this thing will collapse!! I place all the bones and line them up like teeth on four limbs I create by separating the wood in my body the end result is Sharp vines with thorn like teeth spread across the wood-vines. Or even better like four snakes with thorns looking at its prey. I fling my vine like branches at the golem, hitting it from sides. The flames on my body subsided and my Flurry of attacks is begin to chip away at the golem. The golem once again it slams me against the wall. This time he lets me fall to the ground. It stands there for a moment. Is this it. Instead of finishing me off it starts to walk towards the girl. Her expression can only be described as complete terror, as if she saw Death himself walking towards her. Damn. Deal with me first!!! I say as I get up. No, what? I can¡¯t get up, I look to my limbs, only to find that each and every one of my limbs starts to blacken and fly into the air like dust. My body, it is disappearing and I can¡¯t control it anymore. I can¡¯t save the girl. Damn it why am I thinking about a strange girl at a time like this. Humans are supposed to put their own lives first and foremost. Why am I going to die for a girl who will only become a terrible person in the first place!! I yell out all my frustrations and mere moments after my heart calms and I think of the situation more calmly. I have always wanted to die, since the moment I was born, but Hope made me want to at least die a hero. I am sorry kid, even with my best effort I can¡¯t save you. ¡°Don¡¯t give up Edward.¡± The voice of a long dead friend calls out to me. Damn. I can¡¯t Do anything HOPE!! I have done all I can. I yell at the imaginary voice in my head. I don¡¯t want you to be disappointed in me, I don¡¯t want you to say I didn¡¯t try¡. but Please just let me die!! Please Hope, don¡¯t make me fight any longer. Being alive has been nothing but hell for me. ¡°Didn¡¯t you promise me. ¡± her haunting voice calls out to me once more, echoing in my mind. My promise? A resurgence of long dead memories begin to rise out of the depths of my mind. I remember what she once asked of me ¡°Promise me. Even if I die. You won¡¯t give up.¡±(Hope) ¡°Please don¡¯t die Hope. You are the only person in the world who cares about me!! Please.. please don¡¯t die¡± I pleaded her, my cheeks filled with her blood mixed with my tears. I remember it clearly. The gentle smile she gave me, her final smile. ¡°There will always be someone who cares about you, you just have to look for them.¡±(Hope) She said closing her eyes for the last time. I shook her dead corpse in my arms hoping she would wake up; but I knew that it was too late, she had died and there was nothing I could ever do. Nothing except. ¡°I promise!! I promise!!¡± I promise hope, that I won¡¯t die until I make this world just a bit brighter. I can¡¯t die here, not until I have fulfilled her final wish!! I won¡¯t die. Even though I say that, I can¡¯t even muster the strength to open my eyes anymore. My consciousness is fading. I need too¡ Just as my consciousness was about to disappear, it returned with such a vigor that it astounded me, I feel as if I have been given a new body, one that doesn¡¯t feel fatigue. ¡°Well who do we have here?¡±(???) an unfamiliar voice calls out to me. Huh? I open my eye to see a young man sitting on a cloud. ¡°Hello mortal.¡±(Man) he says with a glowing, happy go lucky, grin. Where am I? Chapter 4: The God of Fools Chapter 4: The God of Fools ¡°Sup kid.¡±(man) he says with a grin so wide you¡¯d think a car would fit in his mouth. ¡°Who?¡± Did I just speak. I look at my hands. Hands?? What the hell is going on?? All of a sudden I have a human body and am able to speak normally. ¡°Calm yourself mortal. This domain shows only what you see yourself as.¡±(Man) Is that so? I guess, subconsciously, I still myself in my old human body. With that description of this place, it makes it sound like its heaven. I say looking at the man sitting on his cloud. ¡°Unfazed by my ability to read your mind, are you. Many humans are startled from that fact, not the body thing. Though I suppose you were just in a body of a mimic¡±(Man) he says looking into the distant clouds behind me. I respond to his pondering with my thoughts. Human become afraid when they cannot hide behind their thoughts. I hold no such fear. I hold no such fear because I make it a point to hide nothing about me. ¡°HAHAH. You talk as if you are no longer human.¡±(man) I open my lips for a moment, but before I can speak he continues. ¡°You are still human child. Once you die you¡¯ll be reborn into another creature, but you have not died yet, now have you.¡± (Man)He looks at me with an intensity that is difficult to describe, almost as if he is staring at my very existence. ¡°No not dead at all, your memories remain intact therefor who you were is still who you are. Running away from that won¡¯t help boy.¡±(Man) He tells me as if he knows something even I do not know. Before he can continue his speech, I speak. Am I still human? Do I even want to be? I hold such a strong disdain for humans that I don¡¯t think I want to be called that. ¡°Have I m et you before? Will you put me in another body?¡± Those are my next thoughts. He talks as if he knows me and this place resemble people¡¯s idea of heaven. The only logical conclusion is that he has allowed me to retain my memories and put me in the body of a monster. ¡°Haha. No I did not put you in that body boy. You have also not died yet.¡± What!! I think to myself. How is that possible. Who else has the power to put me in the body of a monster in another world. Surly only God can do something like that. ¡°Though you are correct I am a god. Though perhaps not the god you think I am. The reason I have appeared before you is because I think we can help each other.¡± (Man) So, he is a god. Though it seems gods in this world are have no relation to my world. Not only that but there is more than one god, judging by this conversation. That still brings up a problem with what he is telling me. ¡°What could a god possibly receive from a human?¡± I said a bit skeptical about the whole thing. There is no way something as convenient as a god helping you, is to happen. Even if he could get something for me, why wouldn¡¯t he just force me to do it? ¡°Simple, I need you to be my figure head in the physical world.¡± My brow raises itself up high, curious about the god¡¯s words. ¡°I am not the only god in this world boy. So what do you think would happen if gods of equal strength were to fight? (man) If people with such immense power were to fight, I can¡¯t imagine it being pretty. It¡¯s like my world; all the major powers have nuclear bombs, because of that if a country use that weapon, the planet would be destroyed. For gods it must be the same. Isn¡¯t that right God?If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. ¡°Exactly!! That is why we have come up with a compromise¡± (Man) You use Humans as figure heads and deal with your fights with us. The god with the strongest figure head gets there way. Is that it? Are even Gods fighting over territory? I don¡¯t want to fight like a tin solider for something I do not believe in. Soldiers disgust me more than the average human. People who follow orders without question, I hate them!! And I sure as hell don¡¯t want to become one. ¡°Well that is partially correct. Though humans are not the only creature in this world. For instance, the child you are protecting, she is a part of the demon race¡± (Man) Crap With all that has happened I forgot all about her. I muscles contract and my body stiffens think about what might be happening to the girl. ¡°Worry not, Time here goes very slowly. The golem has not moved from his spot¡±(man) he tells me trying to ease my worry. So, she is a demon. I Does that mean she is evil? Is she to young to have horns or is she tricking me? ¡°No boy. Demons here are no different from normal people in this world, she is not tricking you. The child by even your stand point is indeed a child.¡±(man) It seems you can¡¯t hide things from a god. But that girl even if you told me she was evil, I would protect her. Children are free of sin, is what they say. To a degree, I believe that. Plus she even if she was evil I doubt she would bother to trick a Mimic like me. ¡°And territorial disputes are also not really something we care about.¡±(Man) He brings the focus back to our discussion. ¡°It is not like we have a claim on a specific area. Rather it is Ideals we fight over. We want others to follow our ideals because that is what we think is best for you mortals. If a figure head loses it means that the victor gets to spread their ideals in that area and even control it like a king, so I supposed to degree it is territorial, but it is also more than that. There are also many more things that you will probably discover but all in due time. Now that is what most gods desire, but I desire power.¡±(Man) It seems even gods desire power. I say as my face contorts in disgust. I will not aid you not return me at once!! I demand. This just brings me back to my world, where everyone blindly wanted power, not caring about the mountain of corpse they used to get there. I am not Human!! I don¡¯t want to be one. ¡°A bit cheeky, aren¡¯t we? If it were any other god you would have been cursed and thrown back into that body of yours.¡± He says with a frown but it quickly turns it into his radiant smile. I feel like a son being looked at by their father. Not that I am familiar with the feeling. ¡°But I love fools who are in over their heads. HAHAHA. Anyways¡± He quickly changes his expression into a serious, almost robotic, one. ¡°No I do not desire power for its sake¡.¡±(Man) He stops talking, and looks around, contemplating on whether he should tell me what is on his mind or not. ¡°*Sigh* That hypothetical situation I was talking about. Well¡¡ It actually happened. I don¡¯t want to go into all the details it would take too long but essentially, I lost most of my power during the war. My power is trapped within a couple of dungeons.¡± So here is the deal. You become my figure head, if you do that saving the child won¡¯t be too difficult. Then You destroy the dungeons that hold my power inside them. Deal!!??¡±(Man) Why don¡¯t you just get your power back yourself? I said skeptically. And if there was such a war against Gods why are there survivors. Perhaps the gods in this world are not as powerful as I am giving them credit for¡ ¡°Well if you must know it is because the other gods will try to kill me if they found out that I am in a weakened state. As for you second question, the answer is complicated but the reason there are survivors is only a stroke of luck, I am sure you will discover the whole truth along the way if you do what I ask of you. ¡±(Man) I think about it for moment, Hopes voice still influencing my thought process. ¡°Very well. I will only if you let me do what I want¡± I will not become a slave, especially a Gods slave. ¡°HAHAH.I like you kid!! Bargaining with God is not something normal people would do. Sure I don¡¯t care what you do, Destroying the dungeons that hold my power is beneficial to you too, by the way¡±(Man) ¡±I¡¯ll keep that in mind¡± ¡°By the way. I am Loom. THE GOD OF FOOLS!!!¡± A bright flash covers my field of vision. Once my vison readjust I notice that I have returned into the physical world. The little girl now cowering in a corner. Then I look at the golem and see¡ Golem Level: 18 What the¡. Chapter 5: Such is fate Chapter 5: Such is Fate The girl cowers, paralyzed with fear, she stands there motionless as the Golem prepares its attack. I shift my gears, moving my limbs into the form of an animal¡¯s legs and spring off the cold stone floor towards the Golem. With extreme speed I make to the Golem, before it can attack, and sink my teeth into its stone body. The sound of crumbling stone emanates from its body. Thank god that this Golem is mostly made of loose sediments. The girl, opens her eyes in surprise. The sight of my revival cause her lips to curl up in joy, or perhaps relief. The sight of her smile pricks at my heart, for a moment I even think that she may be for dying for. Damn you girl!! I curse at her but mostly at myself. I thought I these feelings of mine had died long ago. In that moment, the words of Loom came to mind. ¡°Running away won¡¯t help.¡± Perhaps he was telling me that my emotions never died in the first place. That my hatred for humans will not stop me from being one. Hope always believed in the good within humans. Maybe I ¡ I extend my wooden limbs all around the Golems body and place teeth all over the sides of them to form a wooden vine covered in thorn like teeth. With that I start to constrict the Golems body, grinding the stone over and over. The mindless creature fruitlessly attempts to grab my main body. With this practically elastic body of mine he is unable to reach me before I shift my body and move it elsewhere. The large creature struggles in vain. Haha This is what I should have done in the first place. In the end this monster doesn¡¯t have a brain to know my next move. *Slam* He slams his back into a nearby wall, ramming me on the wall in the process. Damn I wasn¡¯t expecting that. To prevent any further damage to my body, I release my grip on the Golem; then I bring all of my limbs close together and bind them closely to the other spinning them like threads. Soon my body becomes long and extremely dense. I realized something when I was talking with loom. I am a mimic!! These creatures can mimic chests and other such things. This is all possible because their bodies are this flexible and changeable. At first I thought I was a Treant; but now it is clear what I truly am. This wood that bends to my will and the ability to store bones inside my body. It makes sense, so, now , I with the help of my perfect memory for detail and stored rabbit bones; I now able to take the form of a snake!! The rabbit teeth become my fangs and the tightened branches, that I call limbs, Create a creature the resembles a snake. Movement feels a bit strange, though I am sure I¡¯ll grow accustomed to that with some practice. It makes sense. The reason I have great attention to detail!! It is for this purpose, so that I can recreate, with my body, what I see in the world. I slither off the golem and reach the stone floor. The golem stands there for a few moment, not moving in the slightest. I can¡¯t relax myself here, I tell myself as the golems bones clicked and clacked against each other. The huge Stone monster, without turning, uses gravity to its advantage, leaning to one side and using the momentum to fly sideways. He is going to try to hit me again. Though I am not going to fall for something so simple twice, this time I am ready. As if I am a real snake I tilt my head just enough to brush past its leg. My new body, being incredibly smooth, uses the Golems momentum to increase my speed. From outside perspective, it would probably seem like water flowing against a large rock at the center of a river. Using the sound of a THUD as my signal. I begin to move my limbs again and change my body once more. Contorting and shifting them in ways humans only wished they could do. I create 8 long wooden limbs from the wood that was my tail only a few moments ago. At the tips of my new legs, I put sharp bone. What was my snake head becomes my new oval shaped body, With the remainder of the bones I have stolen from the dead; I create shell for my center body, only allowing room for my eye sockets and a hole at the center of my face to resemble a mouth with sharp teeth. With that, my spider form is complete. While a snake is quick and agile, a Spider can move more freely. Normally I would remain in snake form but, since the golem seems to be only interested in attacking me, it should fine. I move my legs as fast towards the monstrous stone, with a strange excitement coming over me. The feeling of actually being able to change something. Before the creature has the opportunity to turn around I am already in the air, pointing my many teeth at its body. The second it hits the stone across it¡¯s back, several shards of stone spread all around the cave, one embedding itself into the nearby wall from the sheer force. With my talons, still deep inside the stone creature, I begin to use my front teeth to attack. It is almost freighting how emotionless this piece of rock is. As if it¡¯s death means nothing if it can complete its mission. When I Played those fantasy games, the thought never occurred to me, the fear of fighting such an unrelenting monster. Though it is only natural to fear a monster that does not suffer from fatigue. The fight feels eternal, as you grow weaker, your opponent appears to be unfazed; because of that we begin to doubt whether we did any damage at all.The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. The golem pushes it¡¯s upper body forward, in an attempt to knock me off his body. But that is a miskake on the monsters part. While I lay safely on its back, this attack will only harm the golems body. Unfazed by the impending impact, I continue my flurry of attacks. As I attack it with my teeth, I also try to pull my legs out of its body. Once one of my legs finally manages to escape the stone monsters grasp, I thrust it back into the stone over and over again, chipping the creature little my little. *GRHSS* The sound of stone against stone reverberates throughout the small square room , causing a small jolt in my legs and in turn causing me to feel the cold hard ground Agh I try to exclaim, but I have no vocal chords to do such a thing. For a moment I fear the Golems wrath, but once I move my eyes to see the golems incoming attack, I realize that the Golem is no longer moving. In fact most of its head is gone, smashed to pieces and spread all over the floor. It¡¯s body, held only by the walls surface, lay frozen, as if it had always been there; as if it had always been a part of that wall. Then its own weight finally worked against it, and its large body broke apart into hundreds of small pieces against the ground. If I was still human I would probably let a sigh of relief exit my lungs, but no such thing happens. I should probably go help the girl now. I turn my head left and right to look for her, and find her in the far corner of the room holding her leg tightly, as a bit of red liquid begins to seep between her fingers. Her eyes are wet with tears. From where I am and the torches lighting the area it is obvious that she is holding her breath, trying not to scream. She is refusing to scream. Why? I go up close to her and as I do words pop up, above her head.
Demon: level: 16
So, that God was telling me the truth, unless he is the one who is controlling this new ability of mine. Doesn¡¯t really matter to me. I grab the girl¡¯s hands and force her to let go of her leg. The blood started to quickly flow out of her wound. The wound has several stone shards embedded into it, they are in deep. I look at her to see her state. Her expression was that of someone who just heard they were going to be tortured. I don¡¯t really understand, but she seems to be afraid of me. Paying no mind to her fear of me. I firmly grab her shoulder and wounded legs, I then start to take out as much rocks out of her leg as I can. This must have happened when I attacked the Golem from behind. Some of the stones from when I attacked must have hit her. Itake 2 sharp stones out of her leg. The stones where in deep. I somehow managed to take them out by making my limbs as thin as needles allowing me to push the stones out. At first the girl was scared but after the third stone, she calmed down. Though I am not sure if that is from the blood loss or because she realized that I am trying to help her. After I finish removing as many stones as I can; I try to wrap some dead wood ,from my body around it , to prevent further bleeding. The blood ignores the quickly made barrier and continues to spurt from her legs, the girl is bleeding like a faucet. I look back to the girl, Her face is now as white as a ghost and her eyes start to droop from the blood loss. I am not sure if I can save her anymore. Damn, even if I somehow manage to stop the bleeding, she will more than likely die of infection. I look to the girls face, as she struggles to keep her eyes open. ¡°I am sorry girl, but I can¡¯t save you.¡± I say, with little emotion or care about her death. I want to care, but I just can¡¯t. her death means little to me and my old friends voice has gone quiet. This is perhaps because I bear no guilt for what has happened, I tried to save her and I failed; that is all there is to it. I should at the very least make her death a bit more comfortable; I think to myself as I take her head and begin to cradle with a quickly constructed wooden hammock. ¡°Don¡¯t worry child, death is not as scary as you¡¯d think¡± I try to tell her as I try to calm her and ease her into her to sleep. It would be more merciful to kill her, but I do not have the heart to do that. Forgive me child, that I am not more heartless. The little girl, cradled by wooden limbs, looks up at me and gives me a gentle smile; one that have seen such few times in my life. ¡°Thank you..¡±(Girl) The girl tells me in a weak voice, It takes all her strength to say those nearly inaudible words. Yet she use that little strength to thank me. That god has given me the ability to understand you I am not sure I wanted to hear those words. Perhaps you can understand me in turn. I must tell you this child. ¡°I ignored you and only fought the monster without thinking of your safety; and because of that... Please forgive me.¡± I try to form those sounds with the simple knacks of bumping wood. I never thought I¡¯d ever say those words again. Such is my fate. The little girl smiles once more, bringing with it a sharp pain to where my heart is supposed to be. Why must you make this more painful child? Then, just as she is about to close her eyes, my leg began to burn intensely, a leg that I do not have. What is happening? The pain grew stronger and stronger, not horribly unbearable but not a feeling that one wants to have. The pain almost makes me forget that I am holding the girl. Just as I am about to let her fall, I notice a glowing blue hue emanating from her leg; her wound is disappearing at incredible speed, almost as if time is being turned back, the blood that left her body began to return and the stones that I was unable to remove dropped, one by one, out of her leg. Once her leg returns to its previous state, my pain subsides. Though I can tell that I am heavily wounded, by my inability to hold her up properly. I lower her head onto the ground, making sure that she isn¡¯t hurt any further. Times like this make me want to have a child of my own. I don¡¯t completely understand what just happened, but I can¡¯t help but smile. Maybe that god is correct, maybe I am still human. Chapter 6: The new boss in town Chapter 6: The new boss in town Okay, now how does this skill work? ¡°GOH GOH!!¡± In other words, Main menu!!!..... nothing? I think to myself, as I try to see my stats. We ended up spending the night in the boss room. I am not sure how frequently the boss respawns but at the very least it is not instantaneous. After She was healed, I passed out, but now I am awake, while the girl is still asleep. When I look at her I can see some of her information.
Race: Demon Level:16
Name: Aura of Neyeo
The name comes up after I stare at her for more than a few seconds. So, her name Aura huh. In my mind the spelling sounds like the English word but the sound of the actual name is different, its like Ow-Ra with a rolled R sound. While she has been, asleep I have been trying to get a grasp on how to use this new power of mine. I am currently trying to take a peek at my own stats but can¡¯t seem to get it right, no matter what I say or do, nothing seems to be working. ¡°Peek!! Investigate!! Status!!¡± as soon as I say status, letters begin to appear in front of me, in bright white print.

Firstly. WHATT!! Dungeon boss!! I can¡¯t believe I became a dungeon boss after defeating that thing. Well, I am going to leave this place though, so the title means nothing to me. Lets check out my skills The first to catch my eye is evolution and then ???. Evolution seems useful, and I have idea what ???, status is probably the ability to see stats. Okay let me check this first, then.
Evolution Ex(Extraordinary) Level: Max
All species have this ability. With enough work anyone can become stronger.
Evolution requirements: Collect Ruby : 1/1 Defeat 500 enemies: 500/500 Defeat (5) floor bosses:1/5 Eat metal: 0/100
Sp cost: 400
Wo. This place really is like an rpg. The ruby must be what the golem dropped earlier. I picked it up after I saw it, I thought I might be able to use it as money if need be, but it seems it also serves another function. But man!! The skill uses almost all of my sp. I can¡¯t use it yet anyways, so I guess its fine. I¡¯ll check the ??? if it helps at all.

Ability unknown
Oh, well that helps, come on!!! I look around some more when¡. ¡°Mr mimic??¡± Aura wakes up and starts to rubs her eyes. ¡°what are you doing?¡± ¡°ah nothing ¡± but all that came out was Goh goh goh. Well now that she is awake I can help her get home. Though I am not even sure how I am going to find her home. I look at the aura, she gives me a bright smile. Ah right She is from Neyeo ¡°mr mimic is scary, but mr mimic is actually really nice.¡± Uh sure kid. Lets get ya home for now. I extend a limb to her, to help her up. ¡°ah okay, lets go.¡± This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. And we left the dungeon, is what I would like to say, but before we could even get out of the boss room. ¡°a child is in danger!!¡±(Man) a yell comes from behind me. ¡°really? It looks like that thing is trying to help her up. Doesn¡¯t it?(man)¡± the voice of a young man speaks. ¡°What nonsense!! A monster would not help a child.¡± I turn around to see a man in his early twenties in a full set of armor and a beautifully adorned sword at his hip. ¡±Quickly use observe on the creature!!¡±(Man) He yells to the young man, in a wizard robe, next to him. ¡°Look I don¡± He tries to dissuade the armored man ¡°now!!¡± the armored man yells, taking a swing at my limbs, I shift to the side to reduce the blow. ¡°Observe!!¡± The robed man yells. As he does I look at the man attacking me, so that I can see his level. Two can play at that game!!
Race: Human Level: 12
Wow this guy is weaker than I thought he would be, he is only level `12. ¡°What hell?¡± The man in front of me says In surprise, perhaps because the swing he threw with all his might did not do the damage he thought it would. ¡°You are not going to believe this William!!¡± The robed man yells to his comrade, in a distressed voice. ¡°Don¡¯t tell me!! He¡¯s!!¡±(Armored) he yells, now taking more caution in his steps, giving me a bit of room to breathe. I swing tendrils at him, but he easily parry¡¯s them with his sword. ¡°yes!! The monster is smarter than you!! BAHAHAHA!!¡±(robed) The robed yells, breaking into laughter; the man in front of me turns beat red; from anger or embarrassment, I can¡¯t tell. ¡°Stop joking around, my attack didn¡¯t go through!!¡± he yells to his friend. ¡°Calm down, it¡¯s a level 15 mimic, apparently, it¡¯s the boss of this floor. He is a named monster, so be careful.¡± The robed man finally explains the situation to his friend. That robe guy seems to know my stats, but he yelled observe to see my stats, a different but similar ability, perhaps? ¡°Thanks!!¡± The guy in front of me began to smile, regaining his confidence, now knowing what he is getting himself into. This guy thinks he can take me. Haha. I¡¯ll show him. ¡°Stop!!!¡±(Aura) Aura yelled from behind me, causing me to hesitate. The armored man on the other hand, doesn¡¯t and, slashes at me. ¡°goh¡± I let out a small yelp, huh? Could have sworn that was a head on attack. But it didn¡¯t do much damage. My attacker quickly takes a few stems back, looking around at where he attacked me, with a look of confusion on his face. ¡°Huh?¡±(Armored man) then the robed man begins to speak. ¡°The girl is of the demon race!! William, lets leave!!¡±(Robed) The robed man yells, angrily this time, no longer calm. Well if they leave that will be better for me, I¡¯d rather not have corpses near a child. ¡°She is a child Lanard!!¡± But the armored man persists, taking another blow at me, but this time I manage to dodge it. Did they notice when Aura spoke? Perhaps they are speaking a different language? ¡°Stop being so self righteous. If barnet finds out about this!!¡±(Robed) The man retorts, trying to convince his ¡°Friend¡± to leave. ¡°Her race doesn¡¯t matter to me!! Did you forget!!¡± The man points to his neck for some reason while saying that. Well it seems that the guy I am fighting has principles, but his attacks are to weak. ¡°Shut up!!God dammit!!¡± Lanard yells out his fury, being reminded of something he wishes to forget, I am familiar with the emotion. ¡°Get out of the way, moron¡± He yells, moving his hands in a strange way. ¡°Wait!!¡± The guy in front of me stops for a moment, and jumps away from me. ¡°Fire Ball¡± lanard yells so loudly, that is almost a screech; at soon as he finishes his yell, a large ball of fire begins to form in front of him. Before I can even react, the raging ball of flame is already mere feet away from me. Oh crap. I move out of the way, but the speed of the fire is too much for me to escape and hits me head on moments after its release. The flames engulf my body, the blow felt like a punch right to the gut, if I could feel pain, I know I would not have had the will to get up from. But my body is no longer that of a human and the blow, although strong, is not enough to knock me down, the fire on the other hand is slowly chipping my health away. ¡°No!! mr mimic!!¡± Aura starts running towards me, but I make a gesture so that she doesn¡¯t come close. For a moment, I thought she wouldn¡¯t listen, she is a child after all, but surprisingly she obeys me and instead starts yelling at the two men. ¡°What the hell warn a guy!!¡± The armored man, called William, starts to get up from the ground, but before he can, I attack him, tightening my limbs into the shape of pincers. ¡°Gahh!¡± he screams a bit, but the damage is not what I thought it would be. William, although surprised, quickly regains his composure after my attack. What this guy is really sturdy or perhaps he just has really good armor. ¡°That stung!! What the hell Lanard!! I thought you said he was only level 15!!¡± The William yells, with a bit of blood dripping down his lips. ¡°he is!! Didn¡¯t you just see me use fire ball!! That should have been enough!!¡± He starts to quickly say, in an almost panicky tone. ¡°William, I am going to use the remainder of my mana, I can probably get his health to 500 but the rest is up to you!!¡± ¡°500!! How much h¡± Before he can finish his sentence, Lanard responds. ¡°945!!¡± I have no Idea why these guys are so freaked out, but lets get this over with. I run to the robe guy, who can use that annoying fire ball attack, with any luck I can prevent him from using it again. I run up close to him, so close that I can see the fear on his face, as I step into my range of attack, just as I am about to swing my tendril to attack, he.. ¡°Fire ball!!!¡± Crap!! That magic is way to fast and at this range!! The attack hits me, engulfing my entire body in flames, the power this time is a lot stronger and actually manages to knock me back a couple of feet, before I can react, even before the flames end, William attacks me, this time with even greater force then the last time. I would scream if I could right about now, but I can¡¯t. I form my pincers once again and attack William, knocking him back a couple feet, but this guys has clearly been in more than one battle and manages to keep his balance. ¡°Stop it!!¡±(Aura) Aura starts yelling, with a stained voice, as if she is about ready to cry. Don¡¯t worry Aura, I¡¯ll kill this guy¡¯s soon enough, crap the other guy, I check in the corner of my eye, to see the man knocked out cold on the ground, that is fortunate. I was afraid he might use fire ball again. Even now it is doing continuous damage to me. As I turn back to face William, he gives me an acknowledging smile, as he is telling me that I am a worthy opponent. ¡°You are no ordinary mimic. Ill give you that¡. But I will end you!!!¡± He yells, his body begins to glow a strange white hue. ¡°Stop!!¡± Aura, interferes, using her own body as a shield to protect me. ¡°Crap I can¡¯t stop!!¡± The armored man yells as he swings his sword downward. No!! he is going to hit aura!! Using this quick body of mine, I move to aura, almost instantly, covering her entire body in my tendrils. ¡°Goh!!¡± aghh!! The attack hits me like a truck, and I fall to the ground in exhaustion. I quickly shift my gaze to see if aura is okay. I look around and find her kicking the armored man. Stop that girl!! ¡°I¡¯m sorry girl, I didn¡¯t know he was your pet.¡± He says to her as he rubs the back of his neck, in a playful ¡°my bad¡± fashion. ¡°Demons sure are strange. Hahaha!! Oh look he is awake.¡± He points to me, as he bumps the back of auras head to get her attention. Aura gets surprised, from the bonk, at first but then realizes what he was trying to say and she turns to see me. ¡°Mr mimic, Your okay, thogt you wodnt wake up!! ¡±(Aura) she rans me, with a face full of tears. What an odd child I think to myself. ¡°to think a mimic could be tamed, But that does make more sense than a wild mimic being this strong though.¡± The man says rubbing his hairless chin.¡± ¡°Anyways, after you beat the boss, you must have gotten stuck as the boss monster am I right?¡± He starts talking, strangely enough, to me. Somehow I feel like I missed a conversation somewhere. ¡°Uh yeah¡± But all that comes out is Goh Goh. ¡°Thought so¡± He responds. Wait can this guy understand me. ¡°Goh Goh?¡± ¡°Nope!! But I can understand your soul¡± he says closing his eyes and bring his fist close to his chest. What the hell? Doesn¡¯t that just make him an idiot? ¡®¡¯hey, I know what your thinking!!¡± Aura jumps at his yell. ¡°eeH!!¡± ¡°You think I¡¯m awesome right?¡± he says smiling proudly and looking into the distance like some kind of tv super hero. We are in a cave, you idiot, that doesn¡¯t look cool at all!! Well at least I got my, he is an idiot isn¡¯t he, question answered. ¡°Worry not, it only lasts about a day, after that, the boss monster can wander around.¡± Well at least he gave me some good information. I say getting up, but my limbs droop to the ground just as I am about to stand. I turn to William and, surprisingly, so does Aura. ¡°sorry, my skill must still be affecting your mimic little girl.¡± He tells her, giving her a kind smile. Aura gives a firm nod in response, as if understanding what he is saying. Though I am pretty sure there is language barrier between the two. ¡°though to be honest, that was supposed to be a sure kill move. It hit head on too.¡± He tilts his head to the side, putting a hand on his chin, a bit curious as to why I survived. Aura on the other hand begins to out and give him an upset look, can she understand him? ¡°I guess, I still have a lot to learn!!¡± Aura jumps, from the yell; William, ignoring Aura ¡®s condition, starts to jog in place, trying to pump his self-up. ¡°Sorry about my friend, hey can you ask your mimic to open the doors?¡± he says, picking up his unconscious friend¡¯s body, and heading to the exit, the way we came through. Aura tilts her head in response. She probably doesn¡¯t know I become the boss of the floor. Well if he is going to leave I won¡¯t stop him. I concentrate on opening the door, something I know how to do out of pure instinct. And after a couple of moments it opens. ¡°thanks ki¡¡± His voice trails off as he goes deeper into the dungeon as he carries his unconscious friend further down into the dungeon.. Well, glad the weirdo is gone. Now. Time to go. I try to get up, but my legs grow numb and I fall on my butt. Lets wait a bit¡. Yeah lets do that. Chapter 7: Voice Box Chapter 7: Voice box Haa!! Finally I can see the sun!! I never thought I¡¯d miss looking at the thing. I might be a misanthrope but I am not a shut in, Mun thought to himself as he gently guided Aura out of the cave. Aura excitedly jumped around Mun, still to afraid to look him in the eyes, wondering where she would be taken to next. Aura is a brave girl who has had her fair share of hardships, perhaps not t the degree of mun but enough to not be afraid of the situation she finds herself. Though this is the first time someone outside her village has helped, in fact it is the first time she has been so far from her village, despite all of that she couldn¡¯t help but feel safe having a Strange little mimic, as she liked to think, guiding her. Where did he want to take her, she thought? At the same moment, Mun is asking himself the same thing. He knows where to take her Neyeo, but there is a language barrier so he can¡¯t just for directions, they are both in human territory, or so Mun thinks, and worst of all Mun is a monster, he will sooner have an axe through his head than directions to his destination. As he thought of his next steps, a sudden scream strongly resounded through the forest. That¡¯s odd? The voice sounds like that of a women¡¯s, men usually don¡¯t make such high-pitched screams. Well it is not my problem so whatever. Mun, the cold heart, was a nickname he had been given at work when he was still alive. Mun is a true misanthrope. Mun can watch someone die in front of him without giving it a second thought, in fact he has seen people die in front of him without much reaction. Only His dear friend hope ever got a reaction out of him but after that, Mun shut his heart away, only ever briefly showing it to children. Mun is not like William who is willing to die to save one person no matter who they are. The screaming is making it annoying to think of a plan. Mun is now more irritated than concerned over the screams. Aura on the other had is becoming worried and pulling at Muns limbs to get his attention. Aura has faced many hardships and now she has a friend to help her. ¡°Mr mimic is strong, he can help¡± is her thought process. Hmm? Do you want me to help her Aura? Mun lowers himself to her size. She is probably a horrible person Aura, you don¡¯t have to worry about her death. Mun pets Auras head to comfort her. Aura took his kindness the wrong way, thinking that he is willing to help, she runs off into the direction of the screams. Aura is smart, but she still only a child. What, Damn!! Mun starts to chase after Aura. I William were to see this seen, he would think that Mun is trying to kill Aura. Muns appearance doesn¡¯t look like that of a kind monster, with two floating eyeballs attached to stems of wood and limbs that look like wooded tendrils. Anyone would think it is a monster chasing after a small girl for an afternoon meal. What the hell!? Mun quickly sends out a tendril and grabs Aura by the collar, pulling her back to his postion. ¡°Help!!¡± The monstrous bird yelled. ¡°What the hell is that?¡± Is what mun wants to say but all that comes out is a simple, Goh! ¡°Dolum bird!!¡±(Aura) Aura yelled, quickly running behind Mun for cover. The bird was enormous and stood 10 feet tall and 5 feet wide. Its legs were long and its wings covered in a strange shining oil. The feathers are covered in a disgusting slime and the Dolum birds beak, covered with several jagged teeth. ¡°Meal time!! Meal time!!¡±(Dolum) The bird screeched as it looked at its prey. The voice sounded incredibly human, no person could possibly tell the difference from far away. Yes the dolum bird tricks people into coming near and then consumes them when it has the chance. Despite its fighting countenance the actual creature is not all that strong, but can be incredibly cunning.

Love this story? Find the genuine version on the author''s preferred platform and support their work! It looks like I am a higher level. Mun began to think on his next move. Clearly this creature looks powerful put with Muns skill, Mun can see though facades. For a moment he thought that putting Aura though any danger is not worth it but then.. Wait!!! My ability is called the Shapeshifter(Eater). I still haven¡¯t been able to check it but any idiot can easily see that anything I eat gets assimilated into my body. If I kill this thing and eat its throat whole, then won¡¯t I gain the ability to speak? An ingenious plan came over Mun. True enough, he can consume the entire throat will allow him to speak freely. All right!! Lets kill this thing. Mun attacks sending his tendrils like small little needles. The Dolum bird, surprised that it was attacked, takes the move head on, causing the enormous creature to start bleeding. The power is more than the bird expected and jumps back. The Dolum bird has faced many enemies in its short life, even mimics. How could it have let its guard down. Even it has some ability to estimate the ability of its opponents. This mimic should certainty be weaker. A lucky shot, it has to be a lucky shot that is all. ¡°SCREEE!!!¡± The Creature screams, a special skill to weaken his opponents. The child next to the mimics covers in pain but the mimic remains unaffected. How could it affect a mimic after all? Mimics hear with magic not with ears. The Bird quickly uses the next move in his arsenal and starts flapping it¡¯s wings to spread the oil on its wings onto its opponent. The mimic moves back avoiding most of the oil. The oil has to main properties, one it sticks very well to whatever it touches and secondly it has a low acidic affect and slowly melts whatever it touches. If this skill hit a human then the human would feel as if his entire body was just dipped in hot sauce, in fact some humans sometimes hunted Dolum birds for this exact reason. The Bird is not finished with its attack and quickly charges towards the mimic and child. The Mimic, a lot more cunning for an ordinary one, sinks its sharp tendrils into the birds leg. Ordinarily the dulrums defense is enough to not be pierced but today was not an ordinary day. The dulrum was attacked before it thought it would causing fear to well up in him, causing his defense to lower, but his fear is not irrational. Its opponent is cunning far more cunning the Dolrum, the bird knew that on instinct. I will die if I continue this fight, the bird thought. *Crsshh* The ten foot monster collapses to the ground from having its muscles punctured. Fear now in its eyes. Today it would die. The many years of battle experience meant nothing in the face of a smarter more cunning and stronger monster. The last thing it see in its life is the face of a young child, the thing that was meant to be its meal, looking at it with an empathic tone. Then its heart is pierced and darkness. The creature dies. Now lets see if this works. Mun began to cutting the miserable birds neck into one large piece, after all he need the thing intact. Aura who is looking a bit away, contorted her face in disgust. She always hated seeing animals being skinned but as a farmer¡¯s daughter this is one of her many jobs. The process did not take long and after a good ten minutes Mun had finished. Mun started to cover birds neck with his tendrils and started to consume, this made Aura look away. How could a small girl like her be able to see two eyes in the side of a large neck looking thing. She couldn¡¯t she had to look away. Mun at first was scared that he wouldn¡¯t be able to assimilate the whole neck but before he knew it the neck had disappeared but the feeling of something of a throat popped up. ¡°Hello.¡± Aura jumps back, surprised that Mun spoke. ¡°mr mimic can speak!!!¡±(Aura) Aura started to jump up in down. She doesn¡¯t know of another way to contain her excitement, of course Aura has a bit of knowledge on monsters so she knows of Muns ability to assimilate things, but having a working voice and actually speaking are two completely different matters. ¡°yes, I think, can you understand me¡± I don¡¯t know if my voice sounds weird or not, or if that god gave me the ability to speak in more than one language. Aura furiously nods her head, trying to tell him with all her might that, yes she understands. ¡°Why can Mr. Mimic speak in my language?¡±(Aura) Aura is curious as to how Mun could possibly have the knowledge to speak her language, after all he is a monster. Perhaps if Mun was a powerful and old monster then it would be less of a surprise, but Mun is a simple mimic and a rank 1 Mimic too. ¡°Would you believe that I was once human and have now been reborn into the body of a monster?¡± surprisingly, Mun confides to the little girl to his circumstances. Aura quickly nods her head. Mun quickly grabs her head, for a moment he thinks her head will fall clean off if she continues her incessant nodding. ¡°Really, you believe me?¡± ¡°Papa told me that he met someone like you once. They are either really bad or really good he told me!!¡± She starts to recount the stories her father tells about the hero¡¯s in the world. Currently there are 11 Aura proudly told Mun, she secretly added him to that list. Out of the 11, four were summoned the others reincarnated. The small tid bit of news caught him by surprise, he didn¡¯t think that his circumstances were actually a known matter. I guess I¡¯ll have to be careful about that information from now on, I¡¯d rather not have to help the countries of this world. Though now thinking about out it, Hope would probably want me to do that. No no no. I still hate humans to much, I¡¯ll help them if it is happening in front of me, yeah those will be my conditions from now on. And of course, if I don¡¯t like them I¡¯ll kill them right after. Yeah that will work. At this moment in time, it is a good thing that Aura can¡¯t read Muns thoughts. Her thoughts of a great hero rescuing her would quickly vanish. ¡°Now that I have a voice, I can properly help you find your home, but hmm I am going to need something to cover myself with.¡± Mun shifted his eyeballs to look at himself. Aura shuts her eyes, as is her routine now, whenever mun starts to move his eyeballs around and now his appearance is even more terrifying with the huge disgusting throat jutting out of Muns stomach area Chapter 8: Aura Chapter 8: Aura Now that I can speak, I can probably talk to people on how to find Neyeo. The problem is, that if I am in human territory than it might be a problem. Judging by Williams friend, Humans here aren¡¯t so friendly to Demons. But who knows with any luck I can find her village quickly. I wonder if it¡¯s okay to take her back to that village. It might be dangerous for her. ¡°Aura do you like your village.¡± Aura gives another fierce nod at his question. ¡°everyone is really nice!! We like monster ya know!! Hmhmh!!¡±(Aura) The little girl excitedly says nodding her head all the while. ¡°They like monsters? Haha then maybe I should live there. haha¡± Mun jokingly says. ¡°No no!! Mr mimic has to save people, he can¡¯t settle down in one place.¡± Aura started to frantically tell Mun of his obligations as a hero. Even the cold hearted mun can¡¯t help but want to smile at the little girl¡¯s actions. But if he were to smile it would surely terrify her. Look at the Aura talking about her village made Mun wonder, why she is over here with a group of strangers with a strange collar around her neck. That is to say that, if Mun does find Neyeo village will Aura be able to return to that friendly place she has known all her life or will she find a ghost town that has been raided by thieves. ¡°Why are you so far from home Aura¡± Mun asks to know if it is possible that Neyeo has been destroyed. The child that only a moment ago was brimming with smiles, now had her head laying low and small little tears began to trickle down her eyes. ¡°I was kidnapped. My mom and dad were attacked, but dad is suuper strong.¡± She started to tell her story. Deep down, she has wanted for someone tell this story to. But she has had no one by her side for two whole months. In that short time, she had witnessed things that no child should ever be forced to bear witness to. She wanted to get this off her chest, no she had too. She tells Mun that the town is definitely safe. The raiders ran away after she was kidnapped. The raiders out a slave collar on her and her friend from the village, who was also taken. They put them in a cage and didn¡¯t feed them very well. She and her friend had no one to talk to but to each other. The two girls were forced to wear extremely short clothing that barely covered their small bodies, Aura didn¡¯t think much of that, after all cloth was expensive and no one would buy a good set for slaves. But Mun thought differently, he doesn¡¯t have the innocent mind that Aura has, and the moment he heard the short clothing. ¡°Did they do anything to you Aura.¡± Mun out two tendrils on her shoulders, Aura was a bit startled about how serious his voice sounded. She nodded. They hit her every time she would cry and every time she would complain about more food. Mun obviously had another idea in mind and was glad that she got away with a simple beating. In Muns mind there worse things in this world then just physical abuse. The wounds that cannot be done with a belt are still deeply imprinted into his mind. Every moment, every second, every hand, Mun remembers it all as if it were just an hour ago. Those memories always permeate the back of his mind. So for he who has felt such abuse, he is glad for Aura. She continued, her tears fell as she recalled the memories. Despite Muns hatred for humans, children were special, to change the world like hope had wanted he Joined a special force that specially searched for people who abused children. This was Muns job. He knows how to talk to children in such circumstances. So with his knowledge he continuously tells Aura that she doesn¡¯t need to say anymore, but aura continues she wants to tell Mun, she trusts him. ¡°Do you think we will eat today¡±(Yeo) Yeos friend asked. Bshl!! The doors to the dark room they were held in opened up, yells from all around could be heard. ¡°You fucking bastard!! Do you know who I am!!¡±(Voice) a man yelled at the top of his lungs. The Slavers made him no mind, just another slaves ramblings after all. Many often screamed of their connections to scare of the slavers, but when all was said and done they were almost always lies, and when someone did come they would swiftly be taken care of.If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it. Today the slavers brought a young girl, around 15. Her hair was ragged and her arms are full of scars. The aura, locked in her cage, could do nothing but shut her eyes at the scene. ¡°Don¡¯t close your eyes!!¡±(Girl) The girl screamed at the top of lungs. ¡°They like it when you look scared!!¡±(Girl) ¡°Shut the fuck up!!¡± A slaver punches the young girl in the stomach and kicks her into the cage. With that the slavers left. ¡°Girl.¡±(Girl) the girl called out to aura. ¡°You¡¯re a demon right? I can tell by the shape of your eyes.¡± All though it is not legitimate proof. The eyes of many demons glisten in the darkness. ¡°Yes¡± The frightened Aura responded. ¡°Look at these scars girl¡± Aura nodded but the other girl was a human how could she know that Aura was nodding. ¡°these weren¡¯t made by my master.¡±(girl) Aura looked at the girls deep scars and didn¡¯t understand. If they were not done my her master than who made them? ¡°I made these. If you are lucky your master won¡¯t touch you if you have these scares. ¡±(Girl) Aura is to innocent to understand the conversation. Touch? Does that mean her master won¡¯t hit her if she does it herself? Aura is to scared to do it herself she would rather haver her master hit her. ¡°Other demon girl. You listen too.¡± She called out to Yeo. ¡°Scars!!¡±(Girl) She yelled. ¡°Only the scars can protect you, only the scars can protect you!!¡±(Girl) ¡°its scary at first, but if you don¡¯t have them it¡¯s a lot scarier.¡± (Girl) The girl began to tremble and held her body close to itself. ¡°I can¡¯t!! I can¡¯t!! not anymore!! Little girl, don¡¯t be like me!! Be braver be stronger!! I can¡¯t I can¡¯t!! not anymore not anymore!!¡± The slavers heard the commotion and open the doors, blinding most of the residents. ¡°What the hell!! Shut the fuck up!!¡±(man) The man yelled out. That is when he saw it. The large dagger in the girls hands, she had somehow smuggled it in. ¡°We got a runner!!¡±(Man) He yelled as he ran towards the small cage, but it was to late. The girl had already begun to stab herself. 1, 2, 3, 10 times in total, she managed to stab herself. ¡°Get the healing potions!! Now!!¡±(Man) Then within one of the cages an old mans voice could be heard laughing at the whole ordeal. ¡°HAHAHA. That is one lucky bitch. Haha, let her die it wouldn¡¯t be worth saving her anyways. haha¡±(Old man) His words may have been cruel, but to the dying girl in a pool of her own blood, she couldn¡¯t help but muster a few words in response. ¡°Thank you.¡± The old man couldn¡¯t here these words but even so she said them. The old man had been a slave for a good chunk of his life, he knows how to behave he knows what to do not to be hit. What he just said would most likely get him a beating, in fact they may end in his death, he is an old man after all he can¡¯t take much more abuse. Despite that he still spoke out. Soon after some other slaves started to speak out. ¡°Let her die!! Hahaha, what good is she to you!!??? She is just a bitch you can find another one hahaha!!¡± Aura didn¡¯t understand some of what was said but she understood some human tongue and knew that those words were cruel, why where these men being so cruel? There was a reason. The old man and the others who spoke out had in common. There was one thing that tied all of them, they were, are, all fathers. As they yelled those powerful insults some couldn¡¯t help but cry in their small cages. ¡°After that¡± Aura continued to cry as she spoke. ¡°those guys you saw me with bought me. They are with another larger group. I was with them for a couple of days and they took me into the cave. Slaves like me are sometimes used as what I they called a e head start.¡±(Aura) Mun wants to hug her, but in his current form he can¡¯t do such a thing. Aura is lucky to not have been bought my one of those people, Mun thought. Instead she was bought by people who wanted to use her as insurance of the encountered a monster to strong from them. In the end they died trying to get her back, A bit of poetic justice, perhaps. Just as Aura finished her tragic story, her eyes began to shine bright. She runs up closer to Mun. ¡°Mr. Mimic can you save my friend!!¡±(Aura) She asks with pleading eyes, hoping that Mun will say yes. Mun listened to her request and began to think about it for several moments before answering. ¡°I don¡¯t think I am strong enough to save her, and she might have been sold already.¡± Immediately, Aura¡¯s downtrodden face returned. She understands that not just anyone can break into a slaver camp and save someone, not even her dad can do such a thing. ¡°Okay¡±(aura) said as she hung her head a bit low. Mun, of course, wants to help but he can¡¯t, it is to dangerous. But then. What if I get stronger. If I level up a couple times I might be able to run in and run out, no problem. Those slave collars are pretty easy to break, so why not. I¡¯ll just need to make sure to break it fast enough. ¡°Okay, I¡¯ll help. Do you know the way back to were she was?¡± Mun asked, he knows that if she has already been sold, than it will be impossible to find her, but with this small chance it will do. ¡°Really!!¡±(Aura) Aura excitedly jumped up and down the stupendous news. ¡°yes I know the way back, I remember!!¡±(Aura) She said as she started to skip through the forest, Mun quickly sends a tendril and grabs Aura by the collar. ¡° Now now, its dangerous around here, stick close this time.¡± Aura nodded as Mun gently put her back on solid ground. ¡°This way! This way!!¡±(Aura) Even aura knows that if they don¡¯t make it in time it will be difficult to ever find Yeo again. Chapter 9: Maximus Chapter 9: Maximus Mun and Aura find themselves in front of a cave. Aura, although she knows the way, has been backtracking through all the places she has been taken. ¡°Ah this is the last place, the town should be close¡±(Aura) Aura tells Mun. as Mun tells her this he starts to contemplate on how he will enter the town without causing to much of a commotion. Hmm, I can¡¯t just waltz right into the place, it might put both Aura and me in danger. Just as he was thinking on his next move a enormous 8 foot tall minotaur walks out of the cave, startling Aura. ¡°Minotaur!!¡±(Aura) The child screams, managing to get Muns attention. The minotaur is huge, yet despite its monstrous appearance appears graceful, not only that but Mun quickly takes notice that the creatures fur is clean., almost as it has been washed very recently. ¡°a mimic and a demon child. How odd.¡±(Minotaur) Aura jumps back in surprise that the Monster spoke. ¡°forgive me child but I don¡¯t speak demon.¡±(Minotaur) Worried, Mun quickly hides Aura behind him. ¡°Who are you?¡± Mun asks the large minotaur dressed in leather armor and equipped with a strangely adorned sword. ¡°Hmm? A mimic that can speak, that is a first¡±(Minotaur) The minotaur praises Mun for his ability to speak fluently. ¡°I have my ways.¡± He says to the monster. Mun normally wouldn¡¯t bother talking to this monster but there is one problem that makes Mun hesitate to make a move.
Name: Maximus Race: Minotaur Level: 112
This monster is strong, far to strong for mun to take on alone. ¡°If you have killed a human, that may cause problems for me.¡±(Maximus) Maximus began to rub his chin with his humanlike hands. ¡°Do you care of what happens to humans?¡± Mun asked, a bit curious about this strange monster that can speak, after all Mun knows why he can speak but why does this minotaur know how to? ¡°Not particularly, you know humans, selfish and greedy. But some are good people. Even so I can¡¯t allow the intelligent monsters in this area attacking humans, it will ruin my reputation.¡±(Maximus) Maximus says as he begins to unsheathe his sword, sensing danger mun quickly tells him how he got his voice. ¡°wait!! This voice is from a creature called a Dolum bird. The only humans I have killed have attacked me first.¡± He says trying to prevent his death, not that Mun particularly cares about his own life but he needs to fulfill his promise to Aura before he dies. ¡°If you still wish to kill me, at least allow me to bring this girl to her home¡± Mun points to Aura with a tendril, Aura can be seen hiding behind a couple of Muns branches only allowing a bit of herself to show so that she can see the monster in front of them. ¡°It seems you speak the truth.¡±(Maximus) The great monster speaks, sheathing his sword. ¡°Hello my name is Maximus the king of the first monster kingdom.¡±(Maximus) He spoke with dignity and integrity, if an intelligent monsters heard this they would surly believe his words, after all Maximus gives of clean and regal appearance. Most other species would not believe him though, how could they believe that monsters had the intelligence to form a kingdom after all. This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. ¡°I don¡¯t care who you are, if you are going to leave us be than leave.¡± Mun speaks bluntly and without respect, to the king of monsters. ¡°HAHA!! Strange little mimic. Very well I¡¯ll leave you be, but if you ever drop by our kingdom, be sure you will be welcome. We have only just formed but I hope it will one day be a place that even other species will desire to live.¡± Maximus tells Mun of his desire for the future of his young kingdom. ¡°No!! mun Hero, Not stay one place!!¡±(Aura) Aura starts to speak in Human language, her ability is weak yet still amazing for a child her age. ¡°OH? You can understand human language girl?¡±(Maximus) he asks, Aura gives her famous head splitting nod. Maximus can¡¯t help but be surprised with the young girl. She can not only speak the human language at such a young age but Maximus can also feel quite a bit of mana from the girl. ¡°Interesting girl you have there. At the very least she has befriended one monster, hopefully she will not hate us when she grows older.¡±(Maximus) he says with a bit of sadness in his eyes. ¡°Well, if you want to help the girl you will need to find a human village and you can¡¯t go out looking like that. Here.¡±(Maximus) Maximus takes out the strange cloth on his back and takes out a large Black Cloak out of it, tossing it to Mun. ¡°This should give you a bit of cover, with your ability to speak, no one will suspect a thing. Though I recommend you eat more wood, that will help you grow larger.¡± Hmm I¡¯ll think about it, That could be useful actually. ¡°Thanks.¡± Mun tells Maximus. Maximus begins to head off of and just as he crosses Muns path, Maximus whispers in a low voice. ¡°Don¡¯t let that hatred consume you, boy.¡±(Maximus) Mun doesn¡¯t understand what a complete stranger he just met could possibly know about him, but it irritated Mun. How dare he speak to me like that as if he knows me as if he is my parental figure or something, those were the thoughts running through his head. The world has never been kind to Mun, and it sure as hell has not been kind to Aura, so Mun will hate, he will let that hatred fuel what he needs to do. If Mun didn¡¯t hate who could he kill those in his way? If he doesn¡¯t kill those in his way how can he protect Aura until she gets home. That is Muns routine, when he has something he wants to protect he allows hatred to cloud his vision to fulfill his ends. If Aura sees that side of Mun she will surely run away, that is why he is trying to hide it in front of her. Mun is not idiot, he knows how scary an angry person can be, He will only show it if Aura is put in danger, even if she hates him after that, at least he will be able to protect her from harm. Then another question popped up in Muns head, how could a stranger now about the anger he is feeling. He is no longer human so it is not possible that his facial expression showed what he is feeling. Mun is new to this world but at this moment he understands that, that Minotaur isn¡¯t normal. The best thing I can do now is heed his advice and start eating a whole bunch of wood. Mun, along with Aura, starts to chop down trees with his inhuman strength for a couple of hours, at one point Aura falls to sleep, but Mun continues to chop and eat the wood from the trees he cuts down. At first it is difficult after he gets the beat of it he manages to down 5 trees in only 6 hours. Once Mun Consumes enough trees and his mass has increased significantly, he is no longer a small little mimic but rather an enormous monster with tendrils that extend several feet across. His tendrils cover the area like tree roots, ordinarily a Mimic wouldn¡¯t do such a thing as consume such a vast amount of wood, they first and for most want to consume metal so that they may evolve, increasing your body mass doesn¡¯t make you stronger it only makes you a bigger target, the mimics instinctually know that it is not a good idea to grow so massive; but Mun is different, he is, one was a human. Because he was once human he understands that he can compact the wood to make it denser and thicker than before. That is exactly what he does he compacts all the wood he has collected creating a human like appearance. He starts with his feet than his legs, his torso, arms, shoulders, and finally creates a wooden human like head with just enough space for his eyeballs to fit through. Of course, even an ordinary person with a Mimics body could not achieve this, but Mun studied Anatomy in his few years in college so he has a higher understanding of it than then the average person coupled with his Incredible Mimic memory, he is able to create a body that can even trick humans if he is far away enough. At the end of it all he releases wood that he put in his body, the excess. With his human form complete, he quickly grabs the cloak that the self-proclaimed monster king gave him and puts it on covering his wooden body. But there is still one last thing he must do, Mun thinks himself. I still need to hide my face. I take from the excess wood that I dropped a bit earlier and begin to transform it into a wooden mask. The mask Mun makes is poor an really only a piece of wood that can fit around someone¡¯s face, with two eyeholes where eyes would be; but to Mun, this is enough. ¡°Okay, I¡¯m ready¡± He says to himself, aloud, as he goes to wake up the, still, sleeping Aura. Chapter 10: The Wolf Part 1 Chapter 10: The Wolf Part 1 Aura tells me that the village shouldn¡¯t be too far from our location. Once I get there I can ask where the nearest demon territory is, or if I am lucky, am already in demon territory. In the meanwhile I¡¯ll check the remainder of my skills. Mun concentrates on seeing his stats and skills, shortly after letters begin to form in front of him, creating a neat table with the information he desires. This time around, Mun decides to check Shapeshifter(eater) first and then move on to his ability skewer. Dark-vison and Lowlight, mun feels, is self-explanatory so, decides against checking those two skills for now. The two skills have activated automatically thus far so there is no need to check them for now. Dark-vison, or so Mun thinks, allows him to see in pitch black darkness, it was very useful when fighting the monsters inside the dungeon, many of the monsters only had lowlight, giving Mun the advantage in most fights. Low light is a bit different but serves a similar function, while dark-vison makes everything seem like a 50s tv show when in complete darkness, low light color corrects everything, making it appear as if a room is brightly lit. This means that even with just moon light Mun is able to see as if it is the morning, Demons like aura are naturally born with this ability. Humans are the only intelligent species that are not born with lowlight, on some rare occasions, half-breeds are born without low-light, though this is uncommon. Mun concentrates on the shapeshifter skill, almost immediately, a new screen appears in front of his stats screen.
Shapeshifter(eater) Ex(extraordinary)
Level: 2
Shapeshifter(Eater) Is an ability that very few creatures have. The only known creatures to have this ability are all from the Mimic family. This ability allows a creature to use what it has consumed to change it¡¯s body and make it stronger. Though, because this skill is only used by Mimics, it is not considered a terrifying skill like the Polymorph skill is.
Cargo(1): 300Lbs/600lbs
Assimilation completion(1): Dolum(60%) time until completion 120 minutes
Sp: 2/ (2) lb. consumed Mana: 1/(2)minute
Mun finds himself quite surprised at the complexity of this skill. The skill doesn¡¯t talk about his ability to actually shapeshift, but rather focuses on the eating aspect of the ability. The skill makes Mun curious on how the regular shapeshifter skill is like or what the Polymorph skill is. Behind all of these thoughts lingered an even greater question, who has written these descriptions. After thinking about it he could only guess that Loom, the person who gave him this ability , is the one who is writing the information. I should look at my next skill now, Mun thinks to himself as he closes the skill menu.
Skewer: Na(Natrual)
Level: 1
Skewer is a skill that sends the users tendril(s) to attack a target. A powerful skill when used on unsuspecting people but very useful in ordinary combat too.
Tedril(s)(1): 1-3 Accuracy(1): +1%
Execution(1):+1% Surprise(1): +2%
Sp: 20
Mun looks at the screen for a good while, trying to understand how skills work in this world. Firstly, he wonders, why the skill doesn¡¯t show the damage it will do. In games, Skills explain the damage it deals, then theirs is the fact that in most games, skills can¡¯t be dodged. Yet this attack skill does not show the damage it can deal but instead shows him the probability that the skill will hit its target, or rather the increased probability it will hits target. Then he thinks. Perhaps my Status skill isn¡¯t high enough and because of that it doesn¡¯t show everything. Hmm yeah I¡¯ll check that now. But before He can pull the screen up, a large wolf comes flying through the woods, hitting Mun In the Process. ¡°Guh!!¡± Mun makes a strange sound, as if the air in his lungs fly out as the wolf makes contact. Aura, who was right next to Mun only a few moments ago, Stood in her positioned, shocked and confuse. At that moment, as Mun lays on the floor, buried under a huge layer of fur, Mun push¡¯s the huge wolf of himself. This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. ¡°Father!!¡± The wolf cries, howling so loudly that Aura covers her ears in pain. Mun now taking a good look at the large wolf, sees how beautifully majestic the creature looks. The wolf is covered in grey fur only having white fur around his eyes that flows like a spiral all throughout its body leading to the tips of its tail. Racoon is the first thought that pops into Muns mind to describe The wolfs appearance. Then a second after, Mun now over the shock, wonders, ¡°Did this wolf just talk?¡± Before Mun can even try to talk to the wolf, the wolf flies back into the woods, ignoring both Aura and Mun the thing it the wolf crashed into. All Mun can do at the moment is sit on the ground, looking at the wolf gracefully run throughout he forest. Aura on the hand starts to lower her brows, in worry, her anxiety causing her to making fists with her hands. ¡°Wolves, travel in packs. Father told me that.¡± Aura flips her head, telling Mun, her face full with worry. She is scared, she despite everything Mun has been able to do, she doesn¡¯t think Mun can take the wolves on; therefore, she is scared. Wolves are not fearsome creatures because of the strength, no; the people of this world fear these wolves because their ability to coordinate in packs as large as 500. A wolf pack can be anywhere from 50 wolves to 500, with perfect coordination, even a small army can fall to wolves. There is a saying in the demon territory when it comes to wolves, ¡°make sure People can identify you.¡± In this moment, Aura is terrified that her life will end, but inside her heart is not fear for herself, no. Aura is a caring girl, she fears that if she dies here and now ¡°Yeo, who will save Yeo?¡± that is the thought running through her mind. Mun wouldn¡¯t believe someone would do this, he has seen to much to trust people any longer But in this moment he understands that Aura does not want to die. ¡°Lets go!¡± Mun forcibly grabs Aura, she doesn¡¯t resist, and starts to carry her like a piece of Luggage. Mun can hear wolves following closely behind him, he is being hunted, Mun can feel it. ¡°A human and a wooden creature!¡± A wolf calls out. Mun thinks ¡±What the hell?¡± How can wolves talk, is this normal, can they be reasoned with? All these thoughts start flowing into his brain as he runs through the forest. Maybe just maybe, Mun gets a strange idea. ¡°Can you guys understand me!!??¡± Mun yells, without looking back, although he doesn¡¯t realize it, he had just howled like maniac. Aura only stares at him with wide open eyes, the thought starts to from inside her head ¡°can Mr mimic speak every language?¡± Yes Mun can speak every language in current existence, This is a natural ability that is given to all God representatives, but the ability to speak to animals is not one. This ability does not derive from any god but rather from Mun being a Mimic. Wolves speak through the soul, so do some monsters, one of those being Mimics. Even though Mun needed to eat the Dolrum to speak, the truth of it is that he only needed to know how it feels to have a throat. That is why Mun could condense his body; In short Mimics use magic to create some abilities, the voice is one of those things. ¡°It can speak!?¡± another wolf cries. Mun doesn¡¯t know how many wolves are chasing after him, making it difficult for him to assess the danger he is in so, he keeps running. But at this moment he knows that the wolves might catch him, the only edible person here is!! ¡°Aura, Run!!¡± Mun yells as he tosses her several feet forward, to keep her from any danger. In the same moment as he tosses her, he turns around to face the wolves. ¡°after the girl!!¡± three wolves appear in front of Mun, one is level 10 another level 14 and the last level 16. These wolves are much larger than the first wolf. Without thinking Mun uses his skill for the first time. ¡°Skewer!!¡± The second he calls out the skill, he can feel a bit of his energy drain from himself, in the next second his left arm turns into 2 tendrils. both target the wolf on the furthest left. The wolf makes a pained howl, collapsing to the ground, covered in its own blood. The other two wolves without paying it much mind continue their mission and hunt Aura. The wolves would ordinarily go back, but the attack is too strong for them, going back for their friend is a death wish, if they can get the girl, they can easily outrun the wooden man. These two wolves thought about this in an instant and continued forward. Mun, using his skill, realizes the usefulness of the thing called skills. The moment he used the skill his body moved by itself, Mun didn¡¯t have to put any thought into it, his body did it all itself. That means that. ¡°Skewer!!¡± Mun yells out, turning around to face the two wolves; his left arm transforms just like before but this time only one tendril flies out going after the center wolf, this is what Mun is expecting. Skills are automatic and because they are automatic he is free to move the rest of his body. Mun transforms his right arm into a sharp tendril and flies it to the far right wolf. ¡°This!!¡± the center wolf howls, how could he expect such a thing to happen, the center wolf is skewered like the first wolf and collapses to the ground in pain. The far right wolf manages to dodge Muns tendril, for a brief moment the wolf could feel excited from dodging an attack his colleagues could not; this only lasts a short moment once Mun tangles its tendril around the wolf, who is at the moment in the air. The wolf trips and drops the ground. Just as mun is about to use skewer to down the last wolf, the wolf he attacked first lunges at him. Mun loses 100 health right of the bat. Immediately Mun understands the danger he is in, Even Lanards attack didn¡¯t do this kind of damage. No it¡¯s a surprise attack, Mun composes himself. Even so the wolves attack is certainly great. Mun pierces the wolf by transforming a part of his side into a tendril and sends it towards the wolf. The wolf, just like Mun, is caught by surprise and suffers even more damage than before. The wolf collapses to the ground, still barely breathing. Mun instinctually feels that the wolf he failed to attack, is about ready to lung just like his comrade. Mun looks back to the wolf, that was downed only moments ago, and finds a large white wolf, mid lunge, heading towards Mun, sharp teeth bared and claws ready to pierce into Mun¡¯s wooden body; just The wolf reaches, the wolf disappears. Mun looks around, confused, only to find that the wolf that hit him, when he first encountered the wolves, hit the far right wolf. ¡°Wo, what the hell is going on!!¡± Mun yelled out confused. The wolf he first met, now lay completely red in its own blood. ¡°Let the girl go, it is to much trouble to deal with her guardian right now.¡± Just as Mun yelled, a large black wolf appeared behind some trees. The wolf is almost twice the size of the wolves he has been fighting; its fur showing off an aura of regality. Instantly Mun knows that this is the pack leader. He looks to the bloodied wolf, it struggles to get up, trembling from the loss of blood; it stands for a couple of seconds then collapses to the ground, but then stand back up, now steadier. ¡°Father!!¡± The bloodied wolf howls; despite his bloodied appearance, the wolf still managed to walk just as gracefully as his father. ¡°I will not run from this fight!! Go ahead and kill your pathetic son!¡± The wolf passionately howled. ¡°I will beat you into submission and make sure you don¡¯t ever defy me!!¡± The large black wolf howled back. The other wolves began to make a circle around the two wolves. Side chapter: The Slave Side chapter: The Slave Somewhere, not to far from where Mun is, there is a Young girl locked in shackles. She is shackled to hin line, with several other slaves; being forced to march to the slavers destination. Her body is covered in thick green scales, all but her stomach and face have thin scales, making those places appear almost as if they belong to a human with green skin. Her short hair is bright red, like thinned blood. She is ragged wearing nothing but a poorly woven cloth, her slavers not even giving her the privilege of wearing pants. Despite the slavers giving her little clothes, she is not a sex slave. No , her slavers feel she is too ugly for that, only beast kin may make use of her but even then, Beast kin prefer smoother features and fur. This girl has scales not fur; even to beast kin she is unwanted The other slaves, at first hated her, after all she is a draconian. Draconian are treated better than most slaves and are not used as sex slaves, Any female slave would love to be a draconian. But this soon changed, every time the slavers would try to grab a women, the Draconian girl would interfere and force all their attention to herself, she was protecting the others. Now the other slaves only hold deep respect for the slave girl who will take any beating with a smile. ¡°That Draconian has been smiling a lot lately.¡± One slaver tells the slaver next to him. ¡°She is always like that, been like that since the day we found her.¡± The older slaver explains. ¡°I don¡¯t like it¡± the first slaver says, looking back at the slaves walking, like cattle, in a straight line. The slavers of course ride on horse back, only occasionally getting of their horses to whip a slow slave. ¡°haha, don¡¯t.¡± the old slaver says, as if he knows what the younger slaver is thinking. ¡°Her smile only becomes bigger the more you hit her.¡± ¡°What the hell, does she like being beat?¡± the young slaver asks. ¡°Don¡¯t know, never asked.¡± The older slaver says as he looks to the sky, as if pondering the young slavers statement. ¡°Hey Lizard!!¡± The young slaver yelled to the pack of slave. Almost immediately, the Draconian girls face contorts in anger, yet she continues moving, ever so calmly. ¡°Do you like being beat!?¡± The other slaves look at the slave girl, as if wondering the same thing. ¡°HAHAHA¡± The slave girl bursts into laugher. The slaver a bit annoyed at the response gets of his horse and prepares his whip. ¡°You fucking mocking me!!¡± The other slavers, just look a bit amused at the whole situation. ¡°You¡¯re the moron who just asked if I like being beat.¡± Draconian are tall, very tall. Despite being a women, The slave girl stands at a full 6 feet tall. The slaver at first doesn¡¯t realize this, but the closer he gets the more he realizes how enormous this slave is. Once the slaver gets close, the slaver girl stands tall and proudly, looking down at the slaver, as if she is of a higher position; that is the aura she gives and the reason she gets several beatings in a day. The slavers hate her arrogance and want to put her in her place, but it never works, at the end of it she is standing tall, while the slaver who took her on is on the ground, heaving and trying to catch his breath. ¡°lower yourself!! Now!!¡± The young slaver yelled. ¡°I am walking hear, moron.¡± The slave girl quickly retorted. The slaver turns red from anger and embarrassment. It is true after all, he can¡¯t just make the slave hold up the line for everyone. The slavers, still on horseback, snicker a bit. But a slaver can¡¯t lose to a his slave. That must never happen. So the slaver raises his whip, ready to hit the slave girl. The slave girl doesn¡¯t even acknowledge the slavers existence and continues her march. ¡°That¡¯s a nice sword you have there, your going to have to use that if you want to hurt me.¡± The slave girl speaks with a voice full of pride, the slaver swears he can even hear a bit of a snicker in her tone. The slaver throws down his whip, and hits her. He whips her and continues to do so for several minutes all the while yelling. ¡°Keep Fucking moving, you pathetic piece of trash. You think you can¡¯t be replaced!!¡± The slaver yells, spit flying everywhere in his rage. The other slaves try to look down to afraid to look up. ¡°Huh!! What the hell you look at!!¡± The slaver yells to a trembling young boy. The boy is only six years old, his village was raided not long ago by slavers, almost his entire family was killed right in front of him. First his father, than his grandmother, and lastly his mother. His mother suffered the most, but did not surrender. Her son needed him and still needs him. ¡°No!!¡± a woman yells behind the boy. The boys mothers; yes she was taken as slave along with him. She wants didn¡¯t end her own life, despite the life of a woman in slavery is absolute hell, she persevered for her young son. ¡°Bitch!!¡± The man takes out his sword about ready to attack. ¡°Stop, the men from where we are going will pay good money for her!¡± The older slaver yelled from his horse. ¡°Fine!¡± The young slaver grumbled. ¡°but this little shit won¡¯t be worth 10 gold to us!!¡± The other slavers roll their eyes at their comrades temperament. The slaver swings his sword down to kill the little boy. In that moment three things happened. The first, the mother moved her son out of the way, using her back as his protection, the second, the other slaves looked away, and the last thing to happen. The sword is stopped by the slave girls bare hands. ¡°Only use your sword on the weak?¡± All the 6 slavers looked at that moment in disbelief. What is supposed to be impossible just happened. A slave cannot resist an action by their master. In this case the slaves master is the old man, even so, slavers order the slaves to not hurt any of the other slavers or the client. These orders are absolute and cannot be broken. But the slave girl just stopped a slavers blade.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road. ¡°You wanted to know why I was smiling when I was being hit?¡± The slave girl has been beaten and bruised for the last month after; but her bright emerald colored eyes never lost their glow. She has been waiting for something, for the perfect opportunity to escape. Her slavers don¡¯t understand the secret behind her slave collar. The collar around her neck is very special, one that is very difficult to create. The name of the contract she is under is the Dominated Slave. Under this slave collar, the only way to make her your slave is to defeat her in battle, after that she is forced into slavery for 1 month at the end of that month she is allowed to fight for her freedom once more. The slave girl doesn¡¯t know how to count, but she can feel that the end of the month is close. That is why every kick, every fist in her direction, every beating with a bat, she only smiles. The slave girl restrains herself, she lets her slavers abuse her all they want. But why did she do this? Why did she become a slavers slave even though she is smart enough to run and strong enough to win the battle? Well that is to¡ ¡°Because it would make it all the sweeter when I kill you all.¡± She says in hauntingly calm voice. The slave girl Slams her head against the man, causing him to release his grip on the sword. She skillfully Moves the sword into her hand. The other slavers didn¡¯t have time to react, In only a few moments the young slaver is stabbed through the chest. The young slavers eyes open wide in surprise and he collapses to the ground in a pool of his own blood. The slave girl places her foot on the mans chest and pulls the sword in the slaver¡¯s chest out. The other slavers finally react, They quickly get of their horse; 2 prepare their crossbows the other three come start to walk into the chained slaves crowd. The slave girl has already freed herself, and with the sword in hand, starts walking to the nearest slaver. ¡°Times up.¡± The slave girl says as she stomps her way to the slaver. This is what The slave girl is after. She became a slave so that when the time came she could free the other slaves. The girl is cunning, she knows a secret that many don¡¯t. That is the usefulness of fear. In this world, when someone is struck with fear, their power weakens to an incredible degree. A level 10 can fight a level 100 as an equal if the fear is strong enough. That is why she become a slave, she isn¡¯t strong enough to fight the slavers head on, but if she acts proudly throughout her time in captivity. She took her beatings with a smile for this moment. To instill fear into the slavers, the slave who doesn¡¯t flinch to a beating. It worked, The slaver in front of her feels as if he is facing a monster, she was playing with them the entire time, she could have killed them at any time, but she waited. She waited for her own sadistic reasons. The slaver is terrified he stopped moving forward, but the slave girl isn¡¯t stopping. The slaver turns his back on the girl, in fear, and starts to run runaway. He trips and falls to ground, he makes. He looks back to see a tail strapped to his leg, it is the slave girls tail. She is a draconian after all, her tail is a dangerous weapon. She swings he sword downward, hitting the slavers jugular. This is no mistake, the slave girl has been trained, for most her life, in close combat. Now only four of them remain. As she walks to her next victim, two arrows hit her thighs. ¡°Agh!¡± She makes a low pained yelp, but she continues forward. The next slaver is braver than the last and actually initiates the first attack. Like a wild animal, the Slaver jumps and strikes downward. The slave girl moves out of the way with ease, and while the man is still in midair, she grabs him with her tail, knocking the slaver to the ground. In an instant, the slave girl thrusts her swords forward into the man¡¯s back, the man¡¯s heart is punctured killing him almost instantly. Another two arrows come flying but this time only one manages to hit him. She doesn¡¯t flinch this time and marches forward to the last swordsman. He runs for his life, but the slave girl is not going to let anyone live, she throws her sword as if its an axe. The sword pierces the slavers spine. He falls to the ground. ¡°Please!! Please, I don¡¯t wan¡¯t to die!!¡± The man pleads for his life tears fall down his cheeks. The slave girl calmly picks up the sword the man dropped moments ago and says. ¡°No one wants to die!¡± Without mercy, she thrusts the sword into the slavers throat. The others are probably planning to run, She thinks to herself. She runs to the nearest slaver and slashes. The forces in her attack is so great that the slavers head falls clean off. The other slaves could only stand an watch, in complete awe. They never thought that a single woman could destroy an entire group of slavers. All that is left is the owner of the slaves. The old man. If they can kill him, the slave contract can be broken, they will all be freed people. There are different slave contracts that exist, but the contract placed on them was one that is ended at the death of their master, in this case the old man is their master. Unfortunately, the old man, got on his horse before anyone could notice. ¡°damn!!¡± The slave girl yelled, as the man got further away. But then, only a couple seconds into the mans run, he falls of the horse, dead. A second after claps, all the slaves looked to where the claps were coming from, only to find an ordinary looking human with decent looking armor. ¡°how you¡¯ve grown.¡± The man called out. The slaves stood confused, not knowing who the human is talking to. But the slave girl responded without looking back. ¡°Cameron¡± Her voice is neither sweet nor angry, it came off as, annoyance. ¡°I could have killed him without your help.¡± She responded bitterly to her savior. ¡°haha, I¡¯m sure you could have. But I don¡¯t have the time for you to fight a bunch of slavers.¡± Despite his words, he stood their throughout the entire battle. He finds it amusing seeing the slave girl doing her best to fight people he considers weak. She even had to use a fear tactic to be able to defeat them. ¡°Shut the fuck up, you¡¯ve been following us since they captured me.¡± She said, now with an angered toned. ¡°Good eye. Only you can spot me.¡± The slave girl wanted to slap the man silly, but this man wouldn¡¯t hesitate to break her legs, in fact he has done it before. The only reason The slave girl is fine is because she is a draconian and draconian have very fast healing. ¡°what do you want.¡± The slave girl says, with a bit impatience in her voice. ¡°your brother asked me to check up on you, you know how he is. Empathic and shit.¡± The slave girl wants to hurl, but she holds it in. ¡°haha! If he cared he wouldn¡¯t have put this thing on me!!¡± She yells, startling all the other slaves, no the peasants. The peasants looked to her, than the boy she saved asked. ¡°Why does she still have that mommy?¡± the boy is now holding hands with his mother; the mother shakes his head, not knowing how to answer her son¡¯s question. ¡°That is all he could have done and you know it.¡± The man called Cameron says, in a calm voice. ¡°tell him no, you can go now.¡± This conversation was now routine. The slave girls older brother would send Cameron to ask her if she would live with him. Her brother always told her that he would protect her. But The slave girl has a deep hatred for her family she doesn¡¯t want to talk to them anymore, she wants to kill them. ¡°Now now, this time I am here for something else.¡± Cameron says, a bit playfully, his smile so large it could scare children, in fact the boy is scared, but he stood in front of his mother, so that Cameron wouldn¡¯t hurt her. This is his promise to himself. He will grow big and strong and protect his mother. ¡°What?¡± The slave girl asks. ¡°This time he asks, if you need anything just say the word.¡± Cameron says. ¡°Would you like to say anything to your brother, I¡¯ll pass the word.¡± ¡°Yeah tell him, Fuck you with love from Kalliet.¡± Kalliet, the slave girls name. ¡°oh one more thing, tell him that he can go fuck himself.¡± She tells Cameron. ¡°hahaha. These trips are never a letdown. See you girl.¡± With that Cameron disappears, or rather he runs off so quickly that normal people think he disappears. ¡°What the hell are you all looking at!!¡± She screams at the peasants. ¡°Your all free!! Leave!! Before I decide to kill you all too!!¡± She lies. Kalliet wouldn¡¯t do such a thing. This whole thing started because she wanted to free the slaves. That was Kalliets true purpose and the reason she was captured. The Peasants somehow understand this. They all bowed to their savior with eyes full of tears, but none said a word, as they saw the strange slave girl walk into the distance. In the hearts of these peasants, they would remember this day. They would tell it to their children and their children will tell it to theirs, the story of the lizard, no the draconian, that saved the lives of over fifty slaves. The peasants did not know at the time, but they would hear of the girl called Kalliet many times in the coming days. Chapter 11: The Wolf Part 2 Chapter 11: The Wolf Part 2 ¡°Yeah,¡± Mun says, ¡°I am going to take my leave now see you wolves some other time.¡± Mun begins to walk away, trying to slip away from the pack of wolves. In the corner of Mun¡¯s eye, he could see Aura running as fast as her little legs could carry her; If I am fast enough we can both safely escape, their leader has already given us our chance. Mun condenses his tendrils back into his body, reforming his human-esce appearance. Both his hands return to their original appearance, one might say that perhaps an artist can make his hands seem real. Mun¡¯s ability to recreate the human anatomy nearly unmatched in this world, the hands he has created could be mistaken for flesh and blood hands if the land is only lit with moonlight. Mun made haste and moved as fast as he could, to reach Aura. The body of a mimic does not have lungs, because of that they can run seemingly indefinitely, but if they over strain their body, their health will start to fall little by little. This is because at the center of every mimic is a beating heart. The more energy a mimic uses the harder the heart pulses. The best way to end a mimics life is to crush this heart, that was the actual reason he nearly died when he fought the golem, his heart had been crushed under the golems weight. Mun had subconsciously been protecting his heart, it was not until he remodeled his body, that he realized its existence. Wolves are intelligent and cunning, they know the weakness of many monsters. ¡°Kill, them! The creature is a living wood¡± the great black wolf howled. The wolf knew that Mun could understand them, if he can speak their language, he can certainly understand it. That was why he created a fa?ade of letting them go, the living wood, would act more calmly, it would turn its back, like it has just now. The entire pack of fifty or so wolves chased after them, without mercy. The younger wolves howled with excitement, enjoying the hunt, in contrast the older wolves only calmly looked on, making sure the could fulfill their order. The younger ones run freely and excited, but the older ones know. Their food is running low, that is why they have been hunting outside their territory as of late. The wolves had over hunted and now very little animals remained, only large monster still lived. The wolves can take the monster down as well, but monster meat taste awful to the wolves and casualties will certainly happen. Their leader has asked them to hunt the girl for the day¡¯s meal, they have been able to find anything the entire day, this girl is a godsend to them. Mun finally reaches Aura, he quickly takes her in his arms and lifts her up. He carried her as if he was about to run into the beach and she is his surfboard. She tangled on the side of his arms, confused at what was happing, the world kept going up and down from her point of view. As soon as she noticed the wooden arms that carried her she relaxed a bit but, her tension rose higher as soon as she noticed dozens of wolves chasing after them. ¡°Wolves!!¡± She yelled, not knowing any other thing to do in her predicament. Mun already knows the wolves are chasing after them, he heard their steps as they ran behind him This is a testament to a mimics hearing, wolves are not creatures that run loudly. The wolves think that the girls guardian is unaware of them, but mimics hear with magic, if you are within the range, a mimic can feel it. The wolves are caching up and Mun can¡¯t stop all of them like he did before. A normal pack in mun¡¯s world is about 4 maybe 8 but a pack if Fifty is unprecedented to Mun who came from another world. ¡°What the hell!!!¡± is all that mun can say about his situation, he is befuddled and slightly afraid for the girl in his arms. He promised to protect her, to get her home. Mun hates people who break promises, he will not be a person he hates to be. The wolves stop hiding their presence, several wolves try to run ahead of Mun, so they can surround the two. Aura¡¯s heart starts to beat faster as she see tens of wolves run ahead of them, she now understand why her father had always warned her about wolves. Her father always talked about them as if they were monsters, Certainly, in this moment, Aura thought the same. She screamed no longer capable of containing the fear welling up inside her. ¡°AHHH!!!¡± Her scream so loud and sharp, that the wolves ears twitched for a moment. Wolves have sharper hearing than ordinary creatures of course a loud, out of nowhere, scream would startle them; but these wolves have trained ever since their first month alive, a simple scream is not enough to ruin their formation. Mun stops, Aura flinches at the force of it , the wolves have completely surrounded them. ¡°this is bad¡± Mun murmurs under his breath; unbeknownst to him, in English. Aura for a moment forgets her surroundings and listens to the forging language she has never heard of before. In her mind this confirmed that Mun is from another world. Her fear began to dull at this, after Heros are strong, they are powerful, that is what her father would tell her. Her mother would always scold her father, stop telling her such stories, what if she wants to become and adventurer!! Her mother would yell and her father would only respond with a bright smile. The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement. Adventuring is dangerous, death awaits around every corner. This situation is a testament to that fact. What can I do in this situation, Mun thinks to himself, as the wolves complete their encirclement. Then for a, brief, moment in the corner of his eye he could see the black wolf and the grey wolf continuing their fight. Mun cannot even think of why those two wolves are fighting, dominance perhaps; but right now, he needs to deal with wolves who are closing in. The wolves moved slowly, painfully so, they looked like cats playing with their prey, taunting them. Mun starts to wrap Aura in his arms, Aura¡¯s trembling stopped and so did her screams, despite their situation she has blind faith in Mun. He is a hero, she thinks to herself, he will find a way. Right then the black wolf attacks the terribly maimed grey wolf. The black wolf howls. ¡°Bow, or you will die¡± The black wolf howled. The maimed grey wolf, despite his injuries, did not back down, his will shinnied brightly like the sun, unrelenting; even the black is beginning to become unsettled by his sons tenacity. Why had this fight begun? The father did not know anymore, but he was the leader he needs to make sure that his pack will obey him. ¡°Then I choose death¡± The grey wolf howled. The grey wolf has been looked down upon his whole life, the other wolfs comparing him to his father. They beat him, stole his food, and shamed him. The grey wolf no longer wanted to deal with it, he wanted to leave the pack, so he did, he tried. Some of the wolves hunted him down, as he escaped, and brought in him back to his father. They called him a traitor, they said that he had stolen food, it was all a lie, but the wolf¡¯s father, believed his subordinates. His father had always been like that, never believing his word. Only the strong have a right to speak, were his father¡¯s words. The grey wolf does not know who stole the food, he didn¡¯t really care. All the wolf knows is that today; he escapes this hell, whether it be through death or liberty. The wolf has made his decision. The two stood on opposite sides, the grey wolf stood at the side of a steep slope, the black wolf stood on a solid ground. They run, faster than any human can naturally run; the grey wolf aims for his father¡¯s jugular, just as he was taught; the black wolf backs his neck away, choosing instead to use his claws. Only a wolf who has many years under his belt could make such a split thinking decision. The son is pushed so far the he reaches the edge of the slope, only barely holding on. ¡°Do you understand son.¡± The father looked to his son, as he watched him pathetically dangle on the edge of the slope. ¡°I understand father¡± The grey wolf releases his grip, and lets himself tumble down the slope. The grey wolf hits thorns and bushes along the way, Certainty this spells death for the him, the black wolf thought. The father watches, as his son tumbles down to his death. He has to watch, his son fought him and never backed down. His son knew that he wouldn¡¯t be a match but did so anyways. The fathers heart ached, despite his stoic attitude, he loves, loved his son. He hoped that one say he would grow strong, surpass even him. Where had he gone wrong? Why did this have to happen, all these thoughts swirled around his mind as his son disappeared into the foliage. ¡°Forgive me son.¡± The wolf whimpered, if only he wasn¡¯t the pack leader, then perhaps he would have defended his son, he would fight the gods themselves if he must; but the black wolf is a leader, he must look after his pack first, and his son second. The black wolf, hardened his heart and turned to the girl and her guardian, today we will eat, he thought. The wolves were closing in and the leader has finished his fight. Mun is in a tight spot, but a brilliant plan comes to him at the last moment; perhaps there is a truth to Aura¡¯s beliefs, heroes can¡¯t die so quickly. ¡°Aura listen to me.¡± He spoke to aura, as he began to release her from his grip. She listened intently, making sure not to miss a single word, like a teacher and disciple. Soon after the their secret meeting ended. An enormous fire ball emerged from the nether, much large than the one William had used, and it speedily left and chased after the wolves closest to the slope. The 6 wolves that guarded that side quickly fled, but the one in the center had no time and is hit. The wolf howls in pain, shaking itself all about. The wolf wouldn¡¯t die but it is certainly close to its death. Using the moment, Mun runs towards the slope and jumps off it. Aura, ordinarily, would scream but after using all her power in the fireball, she fainted, leaving herself to Mun. In fact Mun didn¡¯t need such a large attack, but Aura wanted to make sure the plan would work, she has complete faith that Mun will protect her. He, does not dislike her trusting attitude, but wishes she wouldn¡¯t come to regret her way when she grows older. While in midair, the wolves stay where they are in befuddlement. In the same moment, Mun shifts all his around and changings into a large round ball. With this he can roll down the cliff faster than the wolves can slip down. Inside the wooden ball, of course, lay a young demon girl, branches grabbing her from all sides to assure that she will not hit the inner walls of this strange Mimic. The way down is bumpy and uncomfortable, along the way Mun loses tens of health points, but mun knows that he successfully escaped and the wolves did not chase after him. As to why they did not, that is do to a twist of luck. The wolves are out of food and many were ready to chase after Mun, but then the smell of a herd of dear hit their nostrils. All but the black wolf ran after the scent, the black wolf looked back once to the location were his son was only moments before. ¡°Guh!!¡± Mun¡¯s body makes a strange sound as it hits the bottom of the slope. Mun unwrapped himself and lay down, his appearance looked strongly like a table without legs, with two eyes and heart. Aura lay at the center of the flattened table, sleeping peacefully without a care in the world. Mun lay there for several minutes, waiting for the adrenaline to die down. He rested his eyes, thinking about the promise he made with Aura. He wants to complete it. He wants to help her. When he was alive this was a part of his job, to help damaged children, to help ones who had been abused by their parents, physically or otherwise. In all his years he had never been successful in seeing those kids smile, they were to hurt, to broken to ever smile again. Deep down Mun wants to see Aura¡¯s smiling face when she reunited with her family. Mun doesn¡¯t have high hopes for her family, but nonetheless he will take her to them. Maybe their does exist such a thing as a loving family, he thinks to himself. Perhaps¡ The whimper from somewhere in the forest disrupts his thoughts. ¡°The wolf.¡± ?Chapter 12:The Contract Chapter 12:The Contract Mun puts on his wooden mask on with one tendril and lifts Aura in the other. ¡°a wolf.. huh¡± Mun stumbles across the forest, looking for the wolf. It doesn¡¯t take long for him to find a bloodied wolf lying on the ground, unable to do anything but breathe. Mun looks at the dying wolf, as he slowly walks towards it.. It doesn¡¯t have much time left. In the end I never figured out why it fought, but it was probably a fight for authority. I know wolves sometimes fight each other to confirm who is the strongest in the pack, the strongest becomes the leader. ¡°hey wolf.¡± Mun crouches down, as he calls the wolf. The wolf only continued its haggard breathes, his chest rising and falling every few seconds. ¡°Why did you fight.¡± Mun is curious, he wants to know why an animal as intelligent as the wolves would risk his life for control. Mun doesn¡¯t quite understand why he wants to know such useless information, perhaps it is the wolf¡¯s eyes. Its eyes still shined brightly, even in its time of death, it would not surrender its pride, it would die gracefully. This time the wolf turned its eyes to Mun, for it was all it could do. ¡± Freedom.¡± The wolf responded. ¡°I wanted my freedom, even it costed me my life.¡± A short silence befell the two, the wolf only looked forward and Mun continued to stare at the wolf. After a solid 3 minutes, Mun slowly cracks a smile. He knows the feeling of wanting to be free, free from your parents. Everyday alive was hell when he was with them, especially his mother. So at this moment Mun is smiling; smiling because he now knows that even animals desire such a freedom. Mun doesn¡¯t understand the circumstances, but he knows that this wolf was fighting his father. How badly do you want to be free? Would you risk your life, Mun doesn¡¯t know if he can do what the wolf did. Mun only escaped by sheer luck, a twist of fate, but it came at the cost of his dear friend. The price was perhaps too high but in the end he wasn¡¯t that made the choice. ¡°No one deserves to die alone, I¡¯ll wait with you.¡± Mun says, showing the dying wolf a bright smile, something uncommon for mun. the wolf of course didn¡¯t know that Mun was smiling behind the wooden mask, but felt comfort in his company. Of course Mun didn¡¯t abandon Aura, he brought he with him. ¡°is she your master.¡± The wolf asks; because of the nature of the wolf¡¯s ability to speak, no energy is need to talk, thus a conversation between a dying wolf and its kin is possible. ¡°haha, No. she is my chain.¡± Mun has been holding back his blood lust, for aura. When he first arrived, he slaughtered any monster he saw, he killed them without mercy it wasn¡¯t just for survival. That was the only way to take out his anger that had reached its boiling point over several years. When Mun¡¯s life ended, he had become a murder; by either misfortune or perhaps luck, he was hit by a truck , ending his life, as he made his escape. After ending the lives of all the monsters near him, he finally calmed down. Mun doesn¡¯t know if he will blow up, he doesn¡¯t want to become the monsters he hates so much, yet there is a temptation within him. If he can become a true monster, won¡¯t the scum of the earth fear him? Aura¡¯s existence is not chains, rather she is a temporary solution for a ticking time bomb of emotions. The wolf looks into Mun with his eyes. ¡°Lies.¡± The wolf replies, Speaking without emotion. ¡°You are protecting her with your life, I didn¡¯t see much but I saw enough.¡± ¡°We all hide things from people we care about.¡± Is all that Mun responds with. The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings. The wolf recalls, hiding his inner pain from his father. He would do everything his father ordered, even when the other wolves would mock him for his weakness. Now thinking about it the wolf realized that hiding his pain was not the answer. Maybe his father would have understood, if only he had said something sooner. Perhaps he would not have forced his father to fight him. The wolf knew his father well, during the entire fight, his father held back, he kept saying that the wolf could get a second chance if he just backed down. In the end the wolf never backed down and his father had to end his life. The wolf wants to cry, but wolves are unable to do such a thing, so he just lays there staring at the tree in front of him. ¡°Hiding it will only make it fester.¡± The wolf eyes turns to Mun. The wolf finally closes its eyes, knowing that it¡¯s life is coming to an end. It seems more and more people are telling me that. I am trying to hide as best I can, and I doubt I have showed it. Well it doesn¡¯t matter for now, I can hold it in a bit a longer. Now, let¡¯s see if this power actually works. Animals, are creatures that Mun feels neutral towards. He doesn¡¯t have love or hate for them; but the abuse he faced made him unable to love animals the way most people do, that is why he is watching the wolf die. To test his ability, the one that he used on Aura by accident. This time he will do it on purpose. Mun would have done it sooner, but he understands that the power derives from empathy, that was why he was able heal Aura, because he felt empathy for her. Mun is still unable to empathize with the wolf but somewhere in his heart he feels an ever so small prick. Mun walks up to the wolf, holding the sleeping Aura at his hip creating small wooden cradle for her in his left arm, putting his right hand on the wolf¡¯s chest. Nothing happens. Mun starts to think in his mind, Heal!! Nothing happens. He looks at the Wolf, its eyes open, they are slowly glazing over, its body still warm. Then, a blue screen showed up in front of Mun. ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ The wolf wakes up, he tries to move his body, but as soon as he tries to move, an unbearable pain overwhelms him, he falls back down. The wolf doesn¡¯t understand why he is still alive. How can he be alive? The if the fight with his father wasn¡¯t enough to kill him, then the fall down the slope. should have been. But now the wolf is still alive, and he doesn¡¯t feel that his life is in danger, his body is stable, although suffering bad muscle pain. The wolf looks up to the being in front him, it¡¯s a human, one that the wolf has never seen before. ¡°Who are you.¡± The human doesn¡¯t respond, only extends his hand to the injured wolf. ¡°I don¡¯t understand.¡± the wolf says, the Human stays silent for a few seconds before it speaks. ¡°Will you accept the contract. Become my familiar, grey wolf, I will guide you, and you will watch over me, together we will grow stronger Do you accept these conditions?¡± The voice echoes across invisible walls. This world that the wolf is in is a semi spirit world created through a certain skill, The animal contract skill. The wolf has only ever heard myths of animals making contracts with the humanoids. The Mimic, is he asking for a contract with me? Will I heal faster if I accept, do I want accept? The pain in his body was growing stronger. The wolf understand that he doesn¡¯t have much time left. The contract doesn¡¯t ask for much, in fact it asks for very little. The wolf makes up his mind. ¡°I accept this contract.¡± ¡¡¡¡¡¡.. The blue screen that appeared in front of him was a skill called The Familiar Contract. Mun doesn¡¯t understand much about it, or even why he suddenly gained the skill but he quickly activated the skill. Almost instantaneously the contract was accepted and Muns started to suffer from several wounds from body parts that don¡¯t exist in his body; Unlike with aura, who received a complete heal, The wolf only heals to the point of stabilization, In muns mind this is because of his lack of empathy for the wolf, that is to say it was not the same empathy he felt for Aura. After several seconds of healing, Mun loses 400 Hp, an incredible amount all things considered, This added to the wounds from the previous fight is to much of for mun, he collapses and falls unconscious. What is left is a peculiar scene. A grey wolf, one of the most feared creatures in the forest, A demon girl, a creature hated by the people of this kingdom, and a Mimic, a creature that many consider quite troublesome. Yet this scene does not look like a fight between the three. No The demon girl clings to, to the Mimics humanoid appearance, like a child to her elder brother, and the Mimics head lay on the sleeping wolf, like a tired man who fell asleep playing with his dog. Today in this forest a strange thing happened, it was peace, a loving scene of a brother his sister and their pet. Not even monsters creeping near dare disturb the three. ¡¡¡¡¡¡ Soft giggles of small creature¡¯s ring about. Silhouettes of green, shadows of winged creatures, watch over the three, protecting them from the ferocious monsters creeping about. Chapter 13: The Town Chapter 13: The Town Mun awoke to a rough tongue lick his right cheek and a soft pushing of his left side. ¡°are you okay?¡± a wearied voice of a child calls for him. ¡°Worry not child, I still feel his soul burning strongly.¡± Aura looks at the wolf tilting her head, she is sure he is trying to say something, but she can¡¯t possibly understand. Mun lifts himself like a man out of a grave, startling the two, Aura screams, falling backwards getting her clothing dirtied with leaves and pebbles. ¡°you have awakened master.¡± Mun turn his head to the wolf. ¡°You nearly killed me.¡± The wolf bashfully lowers his head in apology. ¡°Forgive me, I didn¡¯t know my injuries would be transferred to you.¡± Mun places his hand on the wolf¡¯s head, softly petting the creatures soft fur. Perhaps due to the contract, or a natural instinct. But the wolf can¡¯t help but feel satisfied with the wooden hand on his head, his master was approving of him. ¡°ahhh!!!¡± Aura rose her voice, pointing to Mun finally understanding why the wolf had not eaten her. When she awoke, she was completely terrified to find herself resting her head on fur. She attacked him, he dodged and tackled her to the ground and licked her cheeks as message to her that he not an enemy. ¡°You tamed a wolf!!¡± ¡°I have not been tamed, I made the most logical decision ¡± His words went unheard, a language barrier between the two kept her from understanding. ¡°it just turned out that way, don¡¯t think to much about it.¡± Aura stared at Mun, for the unsatisfactory explanation. ¡°For now let¡¯s go back to that town.¡± Aura nods her head, three get up and start their journey once more. ¡¡¡¡¡¡.. I think it¡¯s about time to look at my stats again, mun think as he walks down dirt path. A wolf and demon on each side.

Cursed
Mun makes a strange noise in surprise, his two companions look at him for a couple seconds before returning to their senses, ignoring his surprise. Okay, the skills I could see before are there now!! Ah, my new skill is there too. But I¡¯ve also been cursed? Mun concentrates on the word cursed inscribed next to his name. when that doesn¡¯t work he focuses on the bottom one, a blue transparent panel quickly pops into his field of view.
curse:Dammed at birth Level: 1
Damned at birth is a curse that occasionally affects newborns. The curse prevents leveling up beyond a certain point, in rare cases crippling attributes as well. The way to cure it is still unknown.
1: leveling beyond level 20 is now impossible.
2: ???
3: ???
Mun couldn¡¯t help but become angry at the information, he has now been cursed for something that he didn¡¯t have before. Damned at birth? Could it have been that the wolf was afflicted by the curse, Does transfer exchange more than just wounds?
Transfer Type: Other World
Level 1
There are people in this world that were once not from here, those are the summoned and the reincarnated, both often have special other worldly skills unlike any other.
Transfer is an other world skill that allows the user to transfer all damage from one person onto themselves. The only known skill with similar attributes is the Empathy skill
1: the user can transfer all damage from another if a certain threshold of empathy is met, familiars are automatically protected. Wounds that can kill the user will not be healed no matter the level of empathy.
Sp/mp: none
That explains why I could do that with the wolf, even though I didn¡¯t completely empathize with him. It still feels odd to know that there are others like me out there. I wonder if I even want to meet them. But that curse is seriously going to become problem. For now I guess its not a problem, it isn¡¯t that easy to level up anyways. Alright onto the next skill, Mun concentrates on his next skill.
Exp+ Type: Other world

There are people in this world that were once not from here, those are the summoned and the reincarnated, both often have special other worldly skills unlike any other.
This skill increases the amount of exp a monster gives at one time, effectively speeding up the level up rate.
1: experience increased by 12.5%

All right, this is a good skill to have. ¡°we¡¯re almost there Mr, I mean Mun¡± Aura softly spoke, her body trembling. She was returning to place she didn¡¯t ever want to see again. Mun took his wooden hand in placed it on her head. ¡°Don¡¯t worry, I won¡¯t let them take you¡± Aura tries to give a forced nod. ¡°Wolf, please stay close to Aura.¡± Mun sends a telepathic message to his new familiar. ¡°As you wish master¡± the wolf, who was on Muns left side, walked to aura¡¯s side, to keep her safe from anyone who might try to harass her. Aura felt safer, she had one of the most fearsome creature in the animal kingdom by her side, an animal feared like a monster. Mun decides to check his remaining skills before they reach the town.Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings.
Familar Contract Type: Su(supernatrual)
Level: 1
The familiar contact is a skill very easily obtained, the skill is earned by anyone who wishes to help an animal, after that point the user can make contracts with animals, though not many animals are willing to make contracts with humanoids.
When a contract is signed, the familiar obtains a crest, the crest gives certain advantages to the familiar
The stronger the bond between the master and familiar the larger the familiars crest grows, if the crest breaks, the contract ends.
1: can make 1 contract with any animal. Telepathy between the familiar and master is possible.
Contracts: (1)
Initial Mp: 10/level
Interesting, so I can only make 1 contract per level of this skill, probably. Not only that but this skill doesn¡¯t make the familiar my slave, we need to have a bond, otherwise the contract will end. I¡¯ll check his stats later, for now I¡¯m a bit curious about my foolish skill:
Foolish Type: Su(Super natrual)
Level: (Na)
When a contract is made with a god, advantages over there users peers is immediate, they must earn the Gods respect and only then will they be granted powers unlike any other.
1: this skill works similar to skill points, use a point to enhance a skill. In essence it allows the God you¡¯ve chosen to personally alter the ability of one of your skills, in their image, be wise on how you use this ability because Gods don¡¯t give these blessing out like candy.
2: skill enhanced are leveled to their max potential.
Available blessings: (1)
This is a skill personally handed to me by him huh, this one and the status skill no doubt. Maybe if I use this skill on my status ability, I can see new information on my curse? Before Mun can make a decision. Mun can feel Aura cling to him. ¡°We¡¯re here¡± The town of Birden, stapled across on a wooden sign, written in a strange language. Yet Mun could read every word of it. ¡°Crap.¡± Mun says aloud. ¡°what.¡± Aura says, trembling, trying to hide behind mun, the closer they approach the sign. ¡°I forgot I don¡¯t have any money.¡± Though I can probably sell that ruby to someone. I wonder how valuable it is, does my status skill work on it?
Ruby Type: gemstone
Rarity: rare Demand: low
The ruby is a rare gemstone often bought by nobles as a sign of wealth. Often the easiest way to obtain one is to defeat a boss monster.
The so I can see how rare the gemstone is and the demand, but it doesn¡¯t tell me the value, I suppose that make sense, this isn¡¯t a game, there isn¡¯t a predestined value to items. Maybe I can sell the animal bones I got. ¡°ah, don¡¯t worry to much, I¡¯ll find a way to get your friend.¡± Aura¡¯s eyes were filled with sadness, for a moment she thought that they came all this way for nothing. Mun looked at the town, it was bustling full of people, there were clucking hens all around some other types of animals walking around too, buildings made of wood, some rotting away and others still brand new. The entrance was filled with stalls, from merchants selling the wares, most only sold one type of item or food. ¡°Um, hello sir¡± Mun walked towards an old man selling shoes. ¡°You came to the right place, I make the best and cheapest shoe in the kingdom..¡± Th man begin to give his sales pitch for his product, mun quickly broke the old mans wish for a sale. ¡°I¡¯m looking for a place to sell animal bones, is there any place I can do that? specifically monsters parts.¡± Mun had also remembered that he collected some monster bones too. ¡°a yes¡± the old man spoke more like a grandfather, now that he knew that Mun was not a customer, a bad habit for a merchant like him, but nonetheless he can¡¯t shed his heart like many other merchants. ¡°There are a couple guilds that are willing to buy those products, the Adventure guild buys monsters parts and the merchant guild often buys animal parts.¡± The old man explains in detail on how to get to each guild. Mun patiently waits for the old man to finish. ¡°Thank you sir.¡± Mun had grown used to his social habits of putting on face, asking calmly, never getting angry, perhaps that is why he broke on that last day of his life. ¡°Wait sir!!¡± The old man yelled, he coughed from the strain he put on himself, but he really wished to tell Mun one last thing. ¡°yes.¡± Polite and precise, Mun¡¯s policy when in front of people. ¡°Keep the little missy close ya here, slavers been known to kidnap children and sell em off to the town¡¯s lord.¡± Aura tighten her grip around Mun¡¯s leg, afraid of what might happen. The old man flinches, for a brief moment Mun terrifies him, behind the wooden mask are the eyes of a creature who is not man. The old man gulps. ¡°I¡¯ll keep that in mind, thank you¡± every word out of muns mouth feels like a threat to the old man, he couldn¡¯t quite put his finger on the feeling, but it was almost as if a terrifyingly dark aura surrounded Mun. Mun and aura along with the wolf took their leave. ¡°I think it might be the slavers who regret it this time¡± the old man mutters under his breathe. ¡°don¡¯t worry Aura, ¡±Both me and the wolf are here with you. Mun takes his hand and pats aura, in an attempt to ease her anxiety. Yet, Aura couldn¡¯t help but feel afraid of what might be. The three found themselves in front of a moderately sized building, the size a little larger than a school. The front door was adorned with a crest, it had the shape of a lion in a fighting stance ferociously attacking something that wasn¡¯t there. Once past the door, the world seemed to change, unlike the outside where most of the buildings were made of wood and were very small and clustered so closely together that there was not much room for even a person to squeeze between the homes spaces; this building had a high ceiling and many tables adorned with metal, the front desks stood in several rows where many adventures were selling and buying items. Mun, by instinct tried to find a man to talk too, but there were only women in the stalls, Aura felt confused when Mun suddenly stopped, but before she could ask why, Mun was already walking toward one of the clerks. Its not as if Mun had never interacted with women, and its not as if he doesn¡¯t understand that not all women are terrible people, his dear friend is a testament to that, yet he still can¡¯t get rid of the painful feeling in the center of his chest when he faces a women. A pain that grows and grows, anger or fear, perhaps sadness, or is it combination of the three, Mun doesn¡¯t know. Most women elicit his fears, everyone reminds him of his mother. Mun takes a deep breath before bracing himself. ¡°Hello.¡± While aura doesn¡¯t sense anything wrong, The wolf hears the subtle change in Muns voice. But it wasn¡¯t the blood lust he felt when the old man spoke of the slavers, this was different, and also similar. The bitter anger was there, but the blood lust was being suppressed, at least that is what the wolf thought. He worried for his master who seemed to be fueled by an endless blood lust. ¡°ahh!!¡± The woman screamed, startled, she jumped from her desk and flung a couple feet backwards, barely sticking the landing. The entire guild halls eyes turn towards the four, before quickly returning to their own activities. ¡°I¡¯m very sorry!!!¡± The women in front of Mun bowed her head in apology, she had been startled by a customer, her boss always told her to be prepared for the most frightening of people to appear, but her heart wasn¡¯t prepared to meet one so soon after starting her job. But a man with a creepy wooden mask is too much, she complained internally. ¡°its alright, just do your job.¡± As if the wooden mask had become a person in of itself, Muns demeanor changed, he was no longer the normal polite man, he wanted to get this conversation done as quickly as possible. Perhaps if this woman was younger he could more easily tolerate her. The woman had long brown hair and bright blue eyes, her skin was fare but had clearly seen sun. A shining beauty of the guild hall, only surpassed by Serra from two stalls down. She appeared to be 25. His mother was only 4 years older then this woman, when he saw her last a little over a decade ago. Her brown hair and blue eyes, her face was too similar to hers. ¡°to close.¡± Her face is too similar to hers, he muttered. Mun looked to one side and then the other, his eyes were searching for someone else who could attend to him, but all the women had long become his mother, all of them. They turned to him, glaring at him, trying to hurt him. ¡°to close¡± they all look like her!!! NO!! calm yourself, you just haven¡¯t seen a woman in a long time, she is dead, she is dead, not everyone is her. Mun looped these thought over and over. Muttering aloud, in his delirium, many of the people in the hall began to stare. A strange mist began to surround Mun, the wolf pushed his body into Mun¡¯s legs trying to shake him back into reality. Meanwhile the woman just stared at Mun not knowing what to do. ¡°ahh¡± She screams again, feeling the strange hand grab her shoulder. ¡°Boss!!, I very sorry about this.¡± The new girl, apologized, lowering her head incessantly. ¡°its not your fault Eny¡± The boss, an older woman in her fifties, though she looked no older than forty. Aged like a fine wine, at least that¡¯s what the older men tell her. Mun is finally able to collect himself and faces the two. ¡°Boy, I don¡¯t appreciate your scaring my employees. I could feel your blood lust from my study room.¡± The wolf had learned the human language after his contract so he could now understand the conversation clearly. He was surprised that the woman could feel it from such a far distance. ¡°Forgive me, I¡¯ve had my troubles with women you see, and this one in particular remined me if someone.¡± The woman eyed the mask not knowing what kind of man lied underneath it. The man¡¯s blood lust was gone, when she arrived he certainly did not look like he was going to attack. ¡°I¡¯ll attend to this man Eny, you take a break.¡± ¡°Sorry madam.¡± The woman named Eny lowered her head once more before heading to the back rooms. ¡°Who are you.¡± Aura wanted to scream a hero, but she was too confused of the whole situation to utter those words in time. ¡°A monster trying to pass as human, or maybe the other way around.¡± Mun told her the truth, or at least a truth of who he was. ¡°funny man. What do you want.¡± The woman was annoyed, she always attended to the rowdy customers, but this one seemed different than the rest. ¡°I want to sell some monster bones, do you buy?¡± ¡°Depends on the quality and type. Right now good quality bones from the undead are selling high.¡± Surly this man has undead bones if he has a demon by his side. Nobody noticed but her. She had been an adventure for many years, they always told her humans and demons look essentially the same and its true, but if you are good observer, you can see some subtle differences. the eyes gleam under some lights and shine in the darkness. Their breathing is often more frequent, there chest can often be seen going up down, though only those who look closely can tell the difference. The girl also hadn¡¯t spoken, it was odd, the girl was in tattered clothing and the man was in dark blue cloak, yet the girl was not a slave. The guild master did not know what to think of the man before her. ¡°I do not but I have bones from several monstrous rabbits and some from a couple goblins.¡± Using the cloak as cover, Mun spits out several bones from himself and presents it to the boss. She looks at the bones, they are in good condition, almost as if they were cleaned by a weak acid. The shined bright and seemed to be slightly reinforced with magic. ¡°for all of it I can give you one silver coin¡± is that a lot? Mun thought. ¡°Forgive me but if I may be so rude to ask what type of currency do you have in this country.¡± The woman stared at him wondering if he was serious. she Lowers her head and sighs. ¡°The common currency is copper, silver, and gold though there are variants of that. A copper can often get you a pound of vegetables, a silver coin can get you a night¡¯s stay at almost any inn, a gold coin can often get you a personal carriage from one town to another. Any questions?¡± Mun bothered the woman with many more questions, she sighed before and after each question, on how the economy worked and some safer roads to travel on. After taking an hour of the woman¡¯s time, Mun finally thanked her and left the building. ¡°What a troublesome customer¡± After the long boring talk Aura was drooping from side from sleepiness. Mun couldn¡¯t help to think it was cute to watch aura nod her head back and forth struggling to stay awake. ¡°we have a long day ahead of us.¡± Chapter 14: slavers Chapter 14: Slavers ¡°Here ya go Ordan.¡± Mun handed the old man 10 copper for his services, leaving Mun with 90 copper to spare. ¡°Thank you good sir, return in about two hours and I should have the shoes ready.¡± two hours? How do you measure time in this world, Mun thought to himself. ¡°how long is an hour?¡± Ordan looked confused, he was never asked such a question. ¡°I don¡¯t know how long, its about as long as It is I suppose. If yer wondering how to know when hours past ya simply listen for the church bells, I¡¯m not sure how ya village folk do it.¡± Mun nodded and left. Mun had decided to buy Aura shoes, after she accident stepped on a chickens present for the world. ¡°I wonder if there is a place to get her cleaned up?¡± Mun can tell if a smell is unpleasant or pleasant, but he can¡¯t tell the degree of that, for all he knows Aura might smell like sewage. That is definitely not healthy for a young child, Mun thought. ¡°next up. The bath house¡± Aura tilted her head as he heard him, then she took a whiff of her armpit and nearly gaged. The wolf had been trying to obediently follow his masters orders despite the strong smell. He is well trained and knows how to control himself in the face of strong smells, but he is not accustomed to it lingering near him for so long. He jumped at the thought of bath for Aura. Mun on the other hand didn¡¯t smell much of anything but wood thanks to his special property to mask his smell with magic. Mimics need to be masters of disguise, smell is a good part of any mimics disguise. Smelling like roses, honey or wood, after training a mimic can often manipulate their smell. Mun doesn¡¯t know it exists because certain birth right skills don¡¯t show up on abilities like status. Similar to telepathy not being explicitly shown on Wolves skill list. ¡°is it just the girl?¡± the check in lady asks. Mun nods his head, avoiding eye contact with the bath house woman. The woman looked at the Aura, she sighs under her breath, She often washes children this time of year, when the lord returns from his monster hunting campaigns. ¡°30 copper¡± Mun hands her the coin and lets aura pass through. ¡°Can you smell her, wolf?¡± The wolf shakes his head in response. ¡°To many smells here.¡± ¡°No its alright, I doubt slavers will take a child from a bath house anyways.¡± But if they do, I¡¯ll make them regret it. ¡°haha, and then I cut her tongue out.¡± A group of four men walk out the men¡¯s bath section laughing at a companions story. ¡°Made sure those fucking monkeys know who¡¯s in charge. None of them said anything after that.¡± A laugh, from a terrifying conversation. The women cleared a path for the four men, not out respect, but fear. The word scum, oozed out of every part of their bodies. ¡°What the fuck you looking at mask boy?¡± Mun had found himself staring at the little troop, eyeing them, observing their every movement, these are the enemies, it was clear in his mind. ¡°Simply admiring the view behind you.¡± A couple women chuckled as they entered the women¡¯s bath section. ¡°You think your fucking funny? Is that it!!¡± the man walked up to Mun, shoving him into a corner of the room.
Maro Level: 25
Human
Almost 10 levels above mun, Mun wouldn¡¯t have chance against this man, let alone his companions. Mun stared at the man, his familiar could feel it, Muns blood lust was growing, it was growing so thick inside the small room. The man looked into Muns eyes, his soulless green eyes, they stared into him, like a dagger. Before the man knew it he had already taken a step backwards. ¡°I¡¯ll let you off this once¡± the man left, spitting in Muns direction before parting with his friends. The wolf could feel it, with blood lust alone, He struck fear into the other man. The others couldn¡¯t feel it because of lack of training, but even without out training when someone is so close to that amount of blood lust. It isn¡¯t that its ordinary blood lust either, its of its own kind, one that strikes fear into your heart. One thing the wolf knew for sure, this blood lust is only reserved for humans. Time passed quickly after that, twenty or so minutes later Aura returns with clean hair and a bright smile. Her clothes have too, been changed into a clean white cloth. ¡°the shirt is another 10 copper¡± Mun checked the clothes, they were short, uncomfortably short they barely reached to half her thighs. ¡°its seems offly short, don¡¯t you have clothes that actually fit her?¡± The Bath maid did not expect to hear those words. ¡°Do you not work with the lord?¡± Mun began to understand the situation. The bath maid fell to the ground in shock, Mun¡¯s blood lust suddenly flared up, scaring not only the bath maid but all the other customers, as well as Aura, who instead of running away, ran closer to Mun asking if something was wrong. Mun collects himself realizing that Aura is worried. ¡°NO. I am not with your pig of a lord.¡± The room stands completely still, the strange man had not only stood up to the slavers they live in fear of, he dared speak of the lord in such way, they were all words they wanted to scream at the top of their lungs, but what could peasants do to a man with so much power? The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. I don¡¯t want to meet that lord, mun thought, I don¡¯t know what I¡¯ll do if I see him. I don¡¯t have time to let my anger get the better of me. Mun tries to calm himself, the blood lust disappearing along with each breath. The bath maid stood up, trying to stop her trembling. With a snap of her fingers she called a maid servant and asked her to change the young girls clothing size. ¡°I¡¯m sorry for the trouble.¡± The bath maid bowed in apology, but Mun didn¡¯t care, he simply took aura by the hand and left, the wolf walking closely behind. ¡°is something the matter Mun?¡± Aura had grown worried after the incident, she thought that maybe the bath was too expensive and Mun got upset, but then he yelled something about a lord. ¡°Nothing you have to worry about Aura.¡± Mun doesn¡¯t talk for the rest of walk, aura doesn¡¯t ask any more. The wolf quietly walks a few steps behind them. After a while of walking down the many paths of the of the town, they find a small inn no bigger than a church. ¡°Wait here with the wolf.¡± Mun enters the building and instructs Aura to wait in reception area with his familiar. The inn was different than he thought it would be. The walls were made of ageing wood and the floor covered in a couple of carpets made of bear. Directly opposite to the entrance is a reception desk, waiting for costumers. Mun wanted to lay down on the grown, after he realizes that the receptionist is a woman. ¡°Hello¡± Muns voice come out ominously calm. ¡±I would like a place to sleep one bed is alright.¡± ¡°a one night stay is a silver and 5 copper, sir.¡± The woman was in her younger twenties, she was probably only a year younger than Mun. ¡°Would it b be alright if I pay 50 copper now and pay the rest later today?¡± Calm, far too calm for the receptionists comfort. She felt it, a strange air around him, she felt it once before, when she was a little girl. ¡°Ah, uh, sure.¡° She couldn¡¯t say no, she could feel her hands trembling. ¡°Is it alright if I leave my familiar here?¡± The receptionists didn¡¯t look up, she only nodded in desperation, trying to get the man in front of him to leave. Familiars cost extra, but she didn¡¯t dare tell him. The woman hands Mun the keys, then quickly pretends to be busy with something on her desk. ¡°Aura, Wait here with the wolf, I¡¯ll be back tomorrow.¡± Tomorrow? Aura thought. Why so long? Mun read her perplexed expression. ¡°I need to earn more money.¡± Then aura quickly gathers the pieces together. They need money. ¡¡¡¡¡.. It didn¡¯t take long for Mun to find it. It was in plain sight, in the middle of the town, the slave market. Prisoners of war, or simply unlucky people, Slavers didn¡¯t care who they sold, or there living conditions. If Mun had an ordinary nose he could probably catch that strong smell of iron in the air. The market was neatly set up in the town square, 5 or so Slavers patrolled around the area and 1 stood at the entrance of the market. ¡°I¡¯m here to buy a slave.¡± Mun doesn¡¯t know how many children are here, but there should only be one demon child. The man looked into muns eyes, through the small holes in his wooden mask. There are some people who think they can try to free slaves and cause trouble, you can usually see the fear in their eyes when they are about to do something dangerous. The man before him gazed through him, as if he was insignificant, this man wouldn¡¯t do anything, his instinct told him. But it also told him to keep an eye on him. He looks dangerous. The man looks at Mun¡¯s hands. ¡°Wood?¡± he muttered, finding the man begore him all to strange. ¡°hey!! Rie!!¡± The guard yelled. it doesn¡¯t take long for a man, dressed in white shirt with brown pants, to reach entrance. ¡°take this man to check the slaves.¡± Rie nodded, he placed a hand on his sword as he looked at Mun, warning him without a word. Before gesturing with his head to follow him. The camp was filled with many slavers, it seemed that there were many groups located here. It wasn¡¯t just one slaver group. Of the top Mun could see 40 or so men with weapons, some clad in armor. There were also one or two women that Mun could spot. Using his mana sense, Mun could feel more, most were probably slaves. ¡°There are 7 camps here¡± The man name Rie began to speak. ¡°I¡¯ll take you to each one. so you can see all the slaves here.¡± ¡°How many slaves is that?¡± ¡°last I counted about 75¡± the man, spoke as if it was routine. ¡°The average condition of slave?¡± Rie raised in ear, that isn¡¯t something buyers typically care about, as long as the slave works well enough. Hmm he might want a house slave, tie thought. House slaves need to look presentable in front of guests, though since this slave group is near a couple of dungeons, the slaves are usually only ever used as bait or a test to check for traps. ¡°Around here their condition is decent enough to walk out of this here market.¡± Rie finally responded. ¡°Here we are.¡± The area was in an open space in the Market, Mun thought they would enter some kind of tent. It was a horrid sight to behold, men and women hardly dressed, trapped in small cages, their legs dangled out of their cages, some slaves cages were stacked on top of each other. Mun couldn¡¯t see a single one with light in their eyes, they knew their destiny: in a slave market so close to dungeons, what else could they be used for? As Mun entered he could see one of the slaves being taken out of their cage and promptly beat. Mun used his status skill all around, to look for the Demon Girl. Up down, to the beaten, to the dying, there was no one with a demon as their description. ¡°Lets move on¡± Mun told Rie. The next camp came with no luck, nor the one after that, it wasn¡¯t until the fourth that he finally found a young girl who was also a demon.
Demon level: 13
Yeo
Without paying the nearby slavers any mind, he walked straight up to the girl, who was being scolded by two men. He stared at her, and she at him. ¡°Aura¡± Mun uttered Auras name, The child¡¯s eyes widened, confirming her identity. ¡°How much for the girl.¡± He asked Rie. Rie shook his head. ¡°You¡¯ll have to ask her owners.¡± He said pointing to a large man with metal armor. His level was 40, probably the highest of this slaver group. ¡°How much for the girl.¡± ¡°That bitch? 5 gold.¡± Five gold is way more than what Mun was expecting, he had hoped it would be 2 gold at most. ¡°That seems pretty high for a dying child.¡± The man before him, gave a grotesque smile, one saying that Mun is right. ¡°The lord around her is fond of children, he¡¯d pay us 5 gold for her, he doesn¡¯t care much for their condition.¡± Mun stayed calm this time, he had to or he¡¯d have too many enemies around him at once. ¡°I¡¯ll pay you 7 gold and another 3 if you improve her living conditions, I¡¯ll be back in 1 week for her, and I expect her to be in top condition.¡± ¡°I¡¯d like to be payed up front.¡± The slaver clearly said, puffing his chest out, two other men started to circle Mun. ¡°I¡¯d like to have a healthy slave, for all I know she¡¯ll die within a week.¡± Mun didn¡¯t back down, he was boldly lying to the slavers face. He didn¡¯t flinch nor looked away, he looked straight into the slavers eyes. ¡°one week¡± The slaver responded. He doesn¡¯t ordinarily listen to such requests, but eyes don¡¯t lie, the man before him would fulfill his promise, one way or another. If not they can always kill him for wasting their time. And extra 5 gold doesn¡¯t sound too bad either. Mun quickly left the slave market, thanking Rie before leaving. ¡°Keep an eye on that man.¡± The slaver boss instructed his subordinate. Making sure that Mun was out of sight before speaking. ¡°Why?¡± The underling asked curiously. ¡°If he doesn¡¯t like that demon girls condition before he comes back, I think one of us might lose our head, I¡¯d like to know if he comes to check on the girl.¡± That type of man won¡¯t trust slavers to keep their bargain. Certainly This slaver will not keep his, he¡¯ll feed the girl, but he isn¡¯t going to keep her out of the cage, only when the man comes back will he release the girl, dress her up a bit; then he¡¯ll force her to lie about her living conditions and then he¡¯ll charge another 2 gold for the accommodations. ¡°Sir.¡± ¡°Yes,¡± ¡°We got ourselves a Draconian. ¡± The boss smiled. ¡°Haha, our luck is good this week.¡± The boss laughed at the turn of his fortune. Update: Changing the system to prevent spolers I won''t show you his full stats but I will tell you that his health has been significanly reduced. to comensate attack for all creatures has also been reduced. After finding ways to make everything balanced, it took a freaking long time, I finaly found a neat way. ranks and levels now actually signify something, I''ll tell you more about that in the story itself but in essence I''ve made it so that on average it takes 10 hits to defeat someone 5 if the person doesn''t defend him/herself. in the system I had before it was only balanced in the lower levels but after a while it would have taken hundred of hits to defeat another person of the same level. Here are the some changes to skills, the stuff crossed out is the same as it was before.
Transfer Other world:
Level 1:
There are people in this world that were once not from here, those are the summoned and the reincarnated, both often have special other worldly skills unlike any other.
Transfer is an other world skill that allows the user to transfer all damage from one person onto themselves. The only known skill with similar attributes is the Empathy skill
1: the user can transfer all damage from another if a certain threshold of empathy is met, familiars are automatically protected. Wounds that can kill the user will not be healed no matter the level of empathy.
sp/mp cost: none
level up preequiste: use transfer 3 times: 2 of 3
exp+ is now exp++ and is essentially the same except that instead of saying increases exp, its say it reduced level up requirment by 12.5 percent at level. Skills: the hardest thing to balance were battle skills. THose were freaking annyoting to balance, that and spells but I digress. all battle skill have changed luckily Mun only has one battle skill, that being Skewer. here is the new version of skewer and in turn the new skill concept. The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Skewer Na(natural)
Level 1????????????????????????Rank: ordinary
Skewer is a skill that sends the users tendril(s) to attack a target. A powerful skill when used on unsuspecting people but very useful in ordinary combat too.
1: 1-4 mighty tendrils are sent out and seek out their target
2: intial damge: 2-8
3: the user can gaurentee damage.
4: Chancec to inflict 10%-40% bonus damgage
intial sp cost: 1
gaurentee damage cost: 1Sp/damage level
this is how skill and spell work now, with this system under normal circumstances a person can only attack another person of the same level, 5 times with a skill if they want the damage to be about a fifth of enemies health. oohhh was that frustrating to calculate, to make sure that it worked. I had to think up a bunch of systems before I came to this conclusion. now let me explain what a damage level is. All attack are based on levels. what I did was create a base attack and after that you just muliply it by the level, I did this for all stats really. pretty much everyone has a base damage of 2 per level so 1mp/sp= 2 damage. though that changes of the person is stronger, for instance a devils average base attack is 2.4 per level. Gaurentee dammage is basically that. if the attack hits, that damage will apply unless it is blocked, I won''t explain blocking here. oh and one last thing. level 1 is actualy worth 5 levels. I''ll explain more about how skills work in story so lets move on. Here are minor spolier, but it also shows clearly how much Muns stats have changed. Spoiler: Spoiler

I think thats all of it, I might have missed some stuff. if you have any questions I''ll answer them. Chapter 15: The dungeon Chapter 15: The Dungeon ¡°Hello.¡± The woman instinctively jumps backwards, not expecting Mun to appear so soon. ¡°Forgive me for earlier, I wasn¡¯t myself¡± ¡°N-n-n-no, it was partially my fault too.¡± The receptionist trembled with every word. ¡°Can you ask your boss to come here?¡± the women nodded her head making sure to not make eye contact. ¡¡¡.. ¡°You again.¡± The guild Master Grumbled, rubbing the back of her head, Her face clearly annoyed. ¡°What do ya want.¡± ¡°Do you give loans?¡± The guild master couldn¡¯t believe her ears. She stared at him for a few seconds before rubbing her eyes as if that would wash her frustration away. ¡°Yes, but only for our members.¡± ¡°how much does the membership cost.¡± ¡°2 silver¡± ¡°can I take a loan on that.¡± ¡°Your fool, aren¡¯t you.¡± ¡°That is the god that watches over me, yes.¡± ¡°I¡¯ve never heard of the god of fools. I can¡¯t do that.¡± Mun stares at her for several seconds. He sighs, not wanting to explain why, before speaking. ¡°Look, I need the money to keep that girl you saw yesterday in an Inn. I¡¯d rather not have her walking around with all the slavers around. I promise to you that I¡¯ll pay double the loan and double the membership cost if need be. But I promised the Inn manager that I¡¯d pay her later today.¡± ¡°What¡¯s that in your hand.¡± The guild master ignored his question, instead deciding to focus on the shoes Mun held in his right hand. ¡°There for the girl.¡± The guild master saw that he had wooden hands and a wooden mask. The man in front of him becomes more mysterious with each passing moment. Earlier he was filled with a powerful blood lust, but right she could feel something else entirely, a near warm feeling, the complete opposite of before. One thing was for sure, he wasn¡¯t human, nor elf, nor draconian, a monster she thought. But why would a monster be caring for a demon girl? ¡°Okay, I¡¯ll give you the loan, make sure to pay me back by tomorrow, ya here?¡± the woman heads to the back to fetch a silver coin. She doesn¡¯t know, but her years of dealing with people tells her to help him, at least for now, she doesn¡¯t want any more children being kidnapped in this place either. ¡°thank you very much!!¡± Mun shouted, startling even the guild master. Mun understand the value of what the guild master was doing, she was breaking policy. Mun had always been a man of obligation, he doesn¡¯t break his promises if he can help it. Even if the woman had been his mother, if he made a promise, he would complete it. Mun dashed out of the Guild hall. ¡°Soon, very soon.¡± She mumbled under her breath, she felt it. The monster would cause trouble. Good, she thought before heading to the back to tell her husband. ¡¡¡ After paying for the Inn, Mun heads off to the dungeon to fight until the sun goes down. ¡°I¡¯ve noticed that my mimic body doesn¡¯t require much sleep, 3 hours is about the time I spend a sleep, at least I think, judging by how long the days last after I wake up. Aura and the world sleep for a lot longer than I do, too.¡± After a bit of digging, Mun found out that There are several dungeons in the area, one is only half an hour walk away from the town. ¡°Don¡¯t go in alone, especially not in this time of year¡± The man tells him, Mun doesn¡¯t hear, he is too far to from the man to hear it. The dungeon is a low level dungeon so its relatively safe for new adventurers. Each floor you go down, the level of the monster increases together with that. The dungeon her is called ¡°Seike lota¡± Meaning don¡¯t enter in Demon tongue. This novel''s true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there. In this world certain materials have rating and levels. The higher level of the material, the stronger the item made with it. Its rating lowers if it is not removed from an animal or monster carefully, the lower the rating the more lower its level becomes. ¡°I¡¯m still not sure how the whole thing works, but as long as I eat the creatures it should at least have a normal rating.¡± Mun recalled the information He learned from asking around When Mun assimilates things into his body, the meat is digested and anything that can be used as a weapon is cleaned as well as a mimics body can, usually ending up with an average to above average quality rating. S quality is the highest quality and they are very valuable, especially when it comes to metals. Ordinarily metals don¡¯t have levels, but when it is eaten by a monster, that changes it. Much of how it works is unknown to Mun, he only know that Metal becomes valuable when its inside a monsters body. ¡°If I eat metal, I can probably sell it for higher price.¡± Not many adventures are monsters that can easily remove excess mass, this gives Mun a great advantage when selling items to the guild. As Mun enters he can feel something pressing down on his mind, it wasn¡¯t strong, but it made Mun feel uncomfortable. He didn¡¯t recall this kind of pressure in the dungeon he was born in. ¡°Maybe each Dungeon has a different pressure¡± he tells himself. The dungeon is an elaborate series of tunnels and paths, but they all lead to one location, the boss room. Mun doesn¡¯t know the exact time it takes for him to stop being the boss of a dungeon room but he is going to have to find out. Mun moves forward, trying to get his dark vison to become accustomed to the darkness again. He Kills whatever creature, he finds, making sure to swallow the dead creatures whole. This dungeon in particular has goblins and kobolds roaming around, just waiting to be killed. They were easy prey for Mun, who had already exceeded their levels by over ten. Of course killing such low level enemies wouldn¡¯t be worth much, but Mun ate the creatures anyways. After what he felt be an hour, Mun decided to speed his trek through the dungeon. Mun stopped, morphing his out of his human form and changing into a wooden quadruped, his body shaved to look like fur and a snout to increase biting power. The anatomy wasn¡¯t completely right, but after just one look at his Familiar, he was able to recreate it thanks to the naturally incredible memory of Mimics. Mun ran , killing a monster every now and again, the uncomfortable feeling never completly going away. He did this until he finally reached the boss Room. The door was different than the one he saw in his dungeon of origin, it is adorned metal and the design was in the shape of several spirals all over the edges of the door. I don¡¯t know how well this going to go, Mun thinks to himself. Like most boss floors the Room was small, the size of a living room. The walls lit by bright glowing stones. The stones were scattered all throughout dungeons, but even with their assistance most of the dungeon was shrouded in black. At the center of the room, lay a goblin, its skin bright red
Level: 15 Red Goblin
The red goblin was not much different than an ordinary one, it was a bit bulkier and red but not much else. Mun attacked with a tendril, aiming for the goblins head, but the goblin is no fool and swiped with a powerful back hand. ¡°oh, so you can fight?¡± The goblin charges for Mun, its much faster than He can dodge, but Mun is a no fool either, just as he is about to be hit by the goblins charge, Mun extends several tendrils around the goblins neck, at the same time of the goblins tackle, Mun has several tendrils sharp, tipped by the done bones of former foes, pointed at the back of the goblins head. Mun loses a bit of health, the staggers disoriented by the attack. ¡°Why?¡± The goblin wept a haunting cry ¡°What¡± Mun didn¡¯t move and in that instant, the goblin slashed Mun with its claws, slashing his eyes, Mun backs away, being blinded by the attack. The goblin continues a fury of attack on Mun, the damge is almost to much for Mun to handle. ¡°Hungry?¡± It spoke again, but this time Mun didn¡¯t let it weigh on his mind, he couldn¡¯t afford to let it weigh on his mind. Mun swipes the goblins feet causing it to fall to the ground, with a sharped tendril, he pushes it into the goblins stomach as strongly as he can. The goblin can¡¯t take many more hits, Mung raps the goblin in his tendrils and flings the poor goblin like a rag doll across the room. The goblin¡¯s head smashed against the stone floor over and over again. It screams in agony, Mun flinches for moment, before continuing his merciless onslaught. ¡°Screams. Pain, dead.¡± The goblin uttered incomprehensible sentences, from a language Mun had never heard before, and yet he could understand it. Mun turns into his humanoid for, with the goblin still staggered from the last hit, Mun steps on the goblins chest with one leg, he then stretches his arms around the goblins neck. ¡°geh, die, we.¡± The goblin still trying to utter nonsense; even Mun is disturbed as he pulls, nearly losing his spirit as he hears the battle end with the soft cracking of the goblins neck. Mun shivered as he heard the cracking reverberating through out the small room. ¡¡.. Mun stood there, in front of the dead goblins corpse. He couldn¡¯t say anything. After several seconds of pondering it he finally muttered in disgust ¡°What the hell.¡± Mun felt disgusted, it felt as if he had killed a mentally unstable person. He couldn¡¯t quite put his finger on it, but what he did understand was the chill that had run down him as he ended the goblins life. Svve, a sound of the dungeons door opening, came to a wonderful surprise. Mun checked his status to see if he hadn¡¯t become the boss of the room. Somehow or another, I am not the boss of this room, well that¡¯s better for me that getting stuck at every floor. Mun quickly consumed the Goblins corpse, trying to forget what just happened, and exited the floor, entering a lower far dangerous place. ¡°I wonder why nobody is down here?¡± Mun thought it peculiar that a well-known dungeon didn¡¯t have an overabundance of adventurers trying to farm all the materials from the dungeon. ¡°For now I should just be happy that I have such good opportunity.¡± Chapter 16: The lions Guild Chapter 16: The lions Guild The Cave attempted to envelope Muns world In darkness, but to no avail, for Mun had the ability Dark Vison. Muns world was instead enveloped with black and white shadows, blobs, that surround him. Telling the difference between monsters would be nearly impossible if not For Muns ability to see the names over head monsters and inanimate objects. The ability had already improved after his arrival into he dungeon. ¡°Level 6 metal huh?¡± Mun inspected the blotch of white he held in his hand, it was metal ore, with a quick opening of his gullet, he consumed the entire ore with a single bite. Mun had taken advantage of his bodies ability to require very little sleep, as a monster. Mun estimated that he slept between 3 to 4 hours, that extra time is perfect to hunt even more than the ordinary adventurer. Though sleeping in a Dungeon is very dangerous, you never know where and when a monster may strike, they always hide behind corners and above walls. But Mun knew some secrets of dungeons in his time spent in them, Safe havens, yes, every floor has a safe haven, Marked by bright green stones, or at least they were green in the dungeon that he had been born in. In this new dungeon, they were Purple. When he first encountered them, Mun couldn¡¯t see things like he does now, but now he has the ability, status.
Mysterious ore level: (Na)
Mysterious ore is commonly found in dungeons, Nobody knows why they exist, not even the gods. The ore is known to ward off Monsters, though Monsters are known to ignore the ore if enraged.
Rarirty: Common
True enough, Mun felt himself become slightly nauseous, but the feeling soon passed, it was only for brief moment that he felt it. He pondered who had put them there, and why it didn¡¯t completely affect him. Perhaps it was because he was self aware, something that the other monsters didn¡¯t seem to display Mun entered the Ores chamber, it was shaped like a boss room, except it was lit by a bright purple ore, lighting the normally dark dungeon, for a moment Mun¡¯s vison shine white, blinding him, before his dark vison automatically turned off. Unlike the normal glowing stones that only glowed white, the stones in safe rooms glow a purple, or green, it seems. Mun entered calmly, sure that he would be safe here, only to jump when he lays his eyes on an enormous snake. Larger than any ordinary man. His eyes tracked the elongated creature from tail to the head, the head? He thought, there was no snake head, it was a woman¡¯s head, the upper half was that of women. ¡°A Freaking lamia.¡± Mun thought. The lamia had wrapped itself in a circle, trying to cover itself with its own tail, but her pale spine was clearly seen, her dark brown hair, nearly as long as her entire torso, lay on the grown like a soft fabric trying to blanket the floor.
Name: Luca Species: Lamia
Level: 20
To top it off she was named monster. ¡°Huh?¡± The soft voice of women echoed through the room. Kind, Mun thought, the voice was soft and warm, he couldn¡¯t believe he was saying that about a woman, a monster woman. The large snake woman turns her body, revealing her naked body, her long brown hair covering her shoulders and breasts, her eyes an emerald green. She was beautiful, as a lamia ordinarily is. Despite Muns hatred for women, he was never one to not admire their beauty. But he was always the most weary of Beautiful women. He lowered his body, preparing to attack. ¡°No!! its can¡¯t be that time yet!!¡± The snake women yelled, the lamia, ran towards the only exit in the room, towards Mun. Mun prepared for an attack, but instead felt his body slammed by a thick muscle, the snake¡¯s tail. The Lamia ran, In terror, not looking back once as she ran into the darkness. ¡°What just happened?¡± Mun put those thoughts in the back of his mind, He was too tired to continue pondering Mun found a comfortable corner to sleep, closed his eyes and waited for sleep to overcome him. ¡¡¡ ¡°How much is this worth?¡± Mun said, placing a large wooden basket in his hands on the counter table ¡°Did you even sleep, young man?¡± ¡°Enough to keep me going.¡± The guild master revealed a small grin, happy to see the strange man before her. She was becoming worried that the man wasn¡¯t the person she was looking for. She takes the large crate, one Mun bought to contain all his monster parts, into the back room to measure all its worth. The basket was filled with bones, teeth and some monsters skins, though that is not what startled her. ¡°Dark metal?¡± at the bottom of the basket lay four neatly rectangular shaped metallic bars. They had a strange purple aura to them, it was Dark metal, or Metal infused with magic. Humans and other species have been trying to discover how magic is infused into the metal, but no known way is currently known, the only way to collect is to kill monsters or in some cases, mine it from areas of high magic concentration . The guild master Takes the small bars and places them on a machine next to her, the Meas machine, a machine capable of measuring the levels and stats of living and non living things alike. Only the big guilds have such machines in their halls. ¡°level 1, level 2.¡± One by one she counted the levels of each metal brick. All of them were low levels, but even a low leveled dark metal is valuable. Especially the iron variety. She takes all the numbers into account, grabs two gold coins from the locked vault and headed to the front desk. ¡°All in all I can give you 2 gold coins, this includes the payment for the loan you asked for yesterday, as well as the price for admission into the Lions guild.¡± Two gold coins!! Mun screamed internally, just yesterday After collecting bones and teeth for so long, he was so disappointed to only be given silver coin for all that he collected, now that he had collected more, he still couldn¡¯t hold his surprise at the enormous increase in revenue.Reading on this site? That stuff always sells high if you know who¡¯s buying.¡± ¡°I see¡± True be told some of the dark metal had been lying inside his own body, and a lot more is in it right now. HE wanted to wait for it to grow a couple more levels before selling it. ¡°If you Find Etine metal. I¡¯ll give you a bigger pay¡± ¡°Etine?¡± ¡°It is the rarest natural metal, that is to say it only ever seems to be in very dangerous places.¡± She began to describe the metal and why it was worth so much. She didn¡¯t do out of kindness, she suspected that the man before her might be able to safely get some from the dungeon. ¡°He, definitely has a lions heart¡±, she thought to herself ¡°Anyways, since you need a membership card, I¡¯m going to need you to head towards that door over there.¡± The Guild master Pointed to a large red door, Mun could see a couple of people waiting outside it. ¡°Just wait your turn and the process should be over soon.¡± ¡°Ah, yes that, I need to pay for my stay at the in first, I¡¯ll return as soon as I¡¯ve paid for another night.¡± The guild master nodded and left to her quarters. ¡¡¡. The woman at the end was surprised to get a seven day advance pay. She hadn¡¯t expected to get paid much by the man in to begin with. Mun quickly said hello to Aura and the wolf, before heading back to the Guild hall. Aura was excited to see him again, only to be brought back down by his departure. The wolf conforted her by letting the child play with his tail. Mun returned to the Guild, by some fortunate coincidence, the line was gone, Mun¡¯s turn was next. A man waited for him behind the Red door, he was equipped with a large sword, leather armor and boots. The man eyed Mun up and down, examining Mun with his eyes. ¡°Wait here¡± The mans voice was gravely and deep. Not a voice Mun often hears. The man puts his sword away in a rack, where many other similar swords laid. Mun patiently waits in the room, he decides to look around the room. Swords, some staffs, a variety of equipment you may find on an adventurer. The room was the size of a small school gym, some hay mats were scattered around. One word came into Muns mind, ¡°training room.¡± To him the Room seemed to be built to train People. ¡°There you are.¡± The voice was accompanied by a familiar face, The guild master. ¡°Hello madam.¡± Mun gave a light head bow, not a custom of his country of origin, but rather a quirk he picked up from his very short time as a house cleaner. Some of his most peaceful days in his previous life were during that time, he didn¡¯t have to deal with others. ¡°No worries, I asked my husband to personally take your test.¡± Mun pointed towards the door, asking of the man before was her husband, she nodded. ¡°haha, that¡¯s why no one attacks this place.¡± She laughed, praising her husband and the guild hall in the same breath. ¡°Lets begin, follow me.¡± The woman leads Mun towards a strange looking machine. ¡°By the way, by name is Kaya, Kaya Morda.¡± She looked at Mun, expecting a name in return. ¡°My name is Mun, Mun Zirdah.¡± Her ears perk up, wondering if they heard right. ¡°odd, Sounds Draconian.¡± ¡°Is that so,¡± Mun responded to her thought, unaware of the languages of the world. Names don¡¯t seem to be translated to him. When he hears a forging language it doesn¡¯t, he only hears half of it before his mind changes it to English. ¡°Yeah, I swear I remember hearing an old friend say those words often.¡± Mun himself didn¡¯t know what his name meant, it was just given to him by Loom. ¡°Mun.¡± She turns around to face him. ¡°What kind of monster are you?¡± Mun takes a step back, he didn¡¯t expect to be asked that question. ¡°What?¡± is all he could say in response. ¡°I¡¯ve seen a lot of things in my time alive, I¡¯ve never seen a curse that turns someone into wood and still live. If its not a curse, a monster is the next best guess.¡± She continued explaining her question. Saying that people who are afflicted by certain strong curses have a darker aura about them, with the exception of natural curses. ¡°Now, don¡¯t worry, you are very lucky to have come to this guild first.¡± Mun patiently listened. ¡°Our guild is one of least discriminatory towards Intelligent monsters, or shifters, as some call them, a derogatory term really. Another safe guild to go to the is Guild of the Dragon, our sister guild.¡± Once she finished explaining the situation, Mun finally tells her. ¡°I am a mimic.¡± Her eyes open wide, she didn¡¯t expect a Mimic. ¡°Oh that¡¯s bad.¡± She muttered. ¡°Why?¡± ¡°Well our machine needs a bit of blood for us to make your Membership card, We can scan your level, but we can¡¯t make a membership card that can be easily changed like the normal guild cards, and I¡¯d rather not cut your heart to do.¡± As she explained, She picked up a metal plate out of one of her pockets, it had her name, level, and some of her skills, showing it to Mun as an example. ¡°For now I guess, I¡¯ll give you one of the older type of guild cards. Though I¡¯m going to have to do some more work for it.¡± She sighed. ¡°lets check your level first.¡± Mun is brought into the back. He is instructed to step on a machine about the size of a person and wide enough for small bed to fit. ¡°Level 16 huh. Hmmm, interesting.¡± ¡°What.¡± She doesn¡¯t say anything for a short minute ¡°You pass the qualifications to enter this guild.¡± Kaya smiles, as she gestures Mun of the machine. ¡°Next, I¡¯m going to need you to do some tests.¡± Before mun knew it, he was asked to do odd tasks like punching some of the punching bags, lifting weights or using some skills. All the while he had to were a chip in the back of his neck, it received all the information of what he was doing and placed it into a machine, where Kaya was pressing buttons to make the plate. It took an hour to completely, The husband came to check on his wife wondering what was taking so long, the wife only said ¡°No blood¡± and the husband understood and moved to the front of the guild hall once more. ¡°Finally done.¡± Kaya sighed after an hour of long work, she remembered the days, when she had to do this for all new recruits, at the time membership was more expensive. She is glad to not be at the time anymore. ¡°sorry about that.¡± Mun apologized knowing the trouble he caused the woman. ¡°Don¡¯t worry, I¡¯m use to it¡± ¡°Can you tell me more about the guilds¡± Mun asked, Kay simply put both palms to her face, She regretted mentioning the guilds. ¡°You don¡¯t need to know much, But I¡¯ll give you a quick summary. There are 10 major guilds, Order of the Bear, Order of the Badger, Order of the Ox, Order of the Fox, Order of the Owl, Order of the Raven, Order of dove, Order of the Angel, Order of the dragon, and Order of the Lion. Right now you are in the order of the Lion. You are mostly safe when going to any of the guilds, but no matter what, you have to stay away from Order of Dove. They hate monsters and have been known to kill Shifters.¡± ¡°Order of the Dove?¡± Mun asked, curious of the organization. She shakes her head, moving her lips to one side in annoyance. ¡°Most of them are Fanatics for whatever god they worship, some of them are okay, Mostly those who worship the Goddess of love, but most of them are in the order of the angel. But anyways there bad news, they cause trouble for all of us not just monsters.¡± She had a look on her face as if she remembered something unpleasant. ¡°May ask you one last thing.¡± Mun had been meaning to ask after Kaya mentioned it. ¡°what qualifications do I meet¡± ¡°You need have a lions heart to join this guild, or at least an abnormal amount of spirit ¡± ¡°a lions heart?¡± Mun asked, tilting his head in curiosity. How could he not be curious, Lion heart is what is plastered on his stats screen, He didn¡¯t know what it meant. ¡°Would you like know?¡± Kaya smiled, eager to tell Mun. Muns eyes widened, he couldn¡¯t believe what Kaya tells him, it was to unbelievable. This is certainly a world of magic, he thought. Mun thanked Kaya for all her help, being only half genuine, with a bow. ¡°Ah and before you go, I think I should warn you. Make sure to not enter the dungeon in 2 days and stay clear of it for the whole week after.¡± Mun nodded, knowing he couldn¡¯t take that advice. Kaya watched as Mun left the Guild hall. Looking at his back. ¡°Is something odd with him dear?¡± Kayas husband asked, as she headed towards the recruiting room. ¡°I think He might give us a chance.¡± ¡°Do you mean?¡± ¡°If that noble tries to do something, yes.¡± ¡°If he doesn¡¯t?¡± ¡°I¡¯ll ask Mun in private, for help¡± ¡°Do you trust him?¡± She thought it odd. His name seemed to be draconian, yet bowing was something that demons do. Then there is the fact that he is a monster. ¡°I trust him to be who he is.¡± ¡° A lion heart¡± The husband smiles, trusting his wife, his wife always had a strange way of knowing people. ¡°you should forward his info to Order of the dragon. They¡¯ll probably like him.¡± Her husband said before entering the recruitment room. ¡¡¡¡. ¡°Hey, do you want to play¡± A little boy asked Aura. The boy had sticks in his hands, playing swordsman, but he didn¡¯t have anyone to play with. Aura thought that it should be okay if they stayed in the building. She nodded, taking the stick the boy extended. The wolf, eyed the boy closely, but decided that it would be alright as long as they play in the building, though he decided to go towards the front of the in to guard the entrance for any unfamiliar people. Chapter 17: Improvement Chapter 17: Improvement Muns dark vison was no longer just blobs of white and black, after so many times using it, his vison had once more improved, the Shadows and white mix together to form a very grainy vison, as if looking at a very old movie. He noticed a new shade of grey take over his sight, he could now tell big objects apart from one another. Mun finds himself chipping against the cave walls, collecting bits of stone here and there and very rarely finding scarps of metal. He is improving himself. He thought about how strong the slavers are, and how strong the Lamia was, he realizes that he can¡¯t t always be able to rely on his level alone. So he wants to find weapons of any sort, natural weapons, imaginative new ways to attack. Stones growing like flowers out of his wooden fists, came to mind. Idea after idea popps into his head, anything that will increase his survival. The monsters in the dungeon, scream as they are forced to test, Mun¡¯s weapons. The goblin gnarled, its sharp nose flaring up, warning Mun to take a step back. Mun only smiles, looking at his newest test subject. Mun flings his tendril around the monsters neck, taking it by surprise. The goblin¡¯s hands grab onto the tendril, causing small cuts on its hand, from the razed metal Mun embedded into the wood. The next moment Mun pulled, sliding the shards of metal across the goblins neck. With another tendril reinforced with iron, it flies across like a bullet, heading straight for the goblins heart. The goblin¡¯s body goes limp, his fingers no longer able to grip onto the tendril, his entire body droops as the blood on its chest pours onto the stone floor. Mun then quickly absorbed the goblin into his body. ¡°Now I need to find a safe zone.¡± After spending sometime collecting bodies and minerals, Mun¡¯s huge body bulging with insect legs and other monsters limb¡¯s. each one trying to escape, as if it the dead creature wanted another oppurnuinity to life. He needed to let his body assimilate all of the things in his body and dispose of whatever was unnecessary, before going on the hunt again. If I kept a steady pace, I might be able to buy Yeo earlier that the deadline. Enough gold, and getting stronger, I hope. Mun looks around the dungeon, searching for the bright purple stones, indicating the safe zone. Before long, he finds the arched entrance, the edges of which are covered in the purple stones. Mun enters and looks at a small section of the room, it was the place the Snake women slept the previous night. He recalled her hair, it was the same as his mothers. After many years, he still couldn¡¯t deal with women that remind him of her, but the snake women was younger than his mother, her reptilian green eyes made the difference even more clear. The only thing in common was the brown hair, perhaps even that was enough to disturb him, he didn¡¯t know. He wondered who the creature was; she, unlike the other monsters, seemed to have an understanding look in her eyes, as if she understood her situation well, she was scared, and ran away. Her eyes looked at him, and they shined brightly, unlike the other horrid monsters in the dungeon. The only other monster he had encountered like that was Maximus, the self-proclaimed king of monsters. The thought entered Mun¡¯s head, that she too was like him, like maximus, an intelligent monster aware of its actions. There was a part of him that wanted to help her, a piece of his heart telling him that it is the right thing to do, but another part that told him to pay no mind to it, to let this run its course. He remembered his old friend. She too was a woman, not yet an adult, but older than he. She was the sole reason, that he is now able to talk to most women in a somewhat normal way. Otherwise, every woman would remind him of his mother. He would remember the beatings he got, or the terrible things his mother forced him to do. How a woman like that was allowed to run a foster care still alludes him. Corruption, or incompetence? Mun shakes off the anger that begins to build inside him, choosing instead to remember the girl who saved him from that hell. She saved him, he tries to picture every woman he meets like her, but more often than not trauma and hatred only remind him of his mother. ¡°woman can¡¯t be trusted¡±, not that men are much better, he knows that, but his hatred and perhaps fear, is only directed at woman. ¡°If I see her, I¡¯ll tell her¡± Mun muttered under his breath, making a firm and yet weak decision. The time passed slowly, Mun had only his wooden tendrils to entertain himself. Mun had even begun to remove some of his excess wood and sharpened an iron blade to carve with. His wooden hand, clumsy and a bit difficult to use. Mun for the first time since becoming a mimic, missed his hand¡¯s, they were far more accurate and more nimble. Even so, Mun carved away at the bits of wood to pass the time. Strange deer with butchered legs, or ducks with jagged bills, Mun practiced away with the glow of the stones as lighting. Letting his body heal and allowing the materials he had taken, to be absorbed completely by his body. Mun practiced his wood carving technique, every once in while checking how much longer until the completion of assimilation. After a long while, Mun decided to move out again. Mun had taken but a few steps out of the safe zone, before seeing a large scaled creature slither in the corner of his vison, his mana sense picked the rest of its form up. ¡°Hey.¡± Mun turned around to face the snake, only to have it run faster than his mana sense extends, disappearing somewhere deep into the darkness of the dungeon. ¡°Afraid..¡± Mun said aloud. The snake women is afraid, Mun could tell by the way she was acting. Perhaps she had never left the dungeon in her entire life. She doesn¡¯t know anything but the mindless monsters that lurk in the corners of the dungeon. Perhaps like Mun, She is constantly attacked by the residents of the dungeon. I¡¯ve got no time to worry about her. Mun brushed the thought of chasing after her, deciding that helping the girl trapped with the slavers was more important. Mun continued his hunt, a goblin here a monster rabbit there. It didn¡¯t take long for Mun to find his way back to the boss room. ¡°This will be the fifth boss¡± Mun said to himself. One from his home dungeon, two the previous day and another two this day.You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story. The bosses spawn at an irregular rate, sometimes almost instantly after someone leaves the dungeons and other times years, Mun didn¡¯t know but the Boss monsters were respawning at a much faster rate the ordinary. Mun wants to make sure to keep the dungeon room clear if he needs to run to the first floor for whatever reason. Mostly because he noticed that monsters very rarely chase him up the stairs, something he took note of, the day prior. This time around it an enormous serpent, three times the size of an ordinary human. The Snake moves its head hypnotically, waiting for the perfect time to strike. Mun backs up against a nearby wall to keep a safe distance from the serpent. The two monsters stared at each other, measuring the others worth. The snake stretched it¡¯s body trying to make itself look bigger, its red eyes beaming through the darkness. Mun was changing his hands into wooden spears tipped with iron, preparing to lunge at the snake the moment it moves. The silence was almost unbearable for the two. They didn¡¯t move a muscle until; until the drop of a loose stone from the cave ceiling, made a tink tink sound as it tumbled onto the ground. The serpent made its move first, fast as lighting it lunged, Mun lifted both hands in an attempt to use the snakes momentum against it, but it was to late, the weight of the snakes body forced his sharpened hands out of the way, the snake wins the round taking a huge chunk of wood out of Mun. Again, both stay still like objects, surely if an adventurer entered the room, they would think the two monsters are nothing more than frightening statues. Mun began to move several stones and sharpened bones in his body, to the edges of his wooden skin. If the snake attempts the same thing, Mun will make sure that it is not only him who will suffer damage. The stand off lasted several seconds, but the wait for the next attack was an eternity. The snake lunged, Mun now knew he was too slow, instead of attempting to dodge or moving his limbs, he spiked his body with jagged rocks and bones. The snake notices to late and chomps on a large goblin femur sharpened into a javelin. Mun drops to half; but his victory is all but inevitable. the goblin bone pierced right through the snakes mouth. It had become erratic squirming everywhere trying to remove the goblin bone. In its confusion. Mun sharpened his tendrils and struck, after ten hits with a sharped wood, the snake finally collapses dead. ¡°That was a little to close for comfort.¡± Mun relaxed his body, stretching his wood across the room. he rested until his health recovered, something that didn¡¯t take as long as he thought it would. A monster¡¯s body had its benefits. Mun decided he would continue to hunt. His Shapeshift ability was now able to carry a heavier load after leveling up, Mun didn¡¯t want to waste the opportunity. Mun had grown accustomed to fighting single enemies, He decided to increase the amount of enemies he would fight to two. He spotted his prey, Two large Spiders lurking in the darkness. Mun ran in his human form, using a sharpened hand to pierce through one of them, the spider staggers, but before Mun can attack a second time, the other spider spits acid in Muns direction. Mun turns around to run, he tries to use a hit and run tactic. Tick tick, the sound of a third spider become louder and louder. The third spider appears in front of Mun, its legs already pointed to attack. Mun is forced into a face off against 3 large spiders, they had him surrounded, two behind and one in front. ¡°I guess it¡¯s time to test a few more things.¡± Mun takes his cloak off, dropping it to the ground. He then begins sharpening, and creating, new appendages, creating eight in total. Placing his eye sockets in the center of his much smaller body. His legs were long, the tips of them were tipped with iron. His eyes coated in iron and the wood that made his body condensed to form a material as hard as stone. In the darkness of the cave, any rookie adventurer would think they are facing a spider, a professional, would be shocked that a mimic had done such a thing. Using his new appendages, Mun slashed the two spiders behind him, and pierced the eyes of the Spider in front. The spider in front staggered for a moment, giving Mun takes the opportunity to leap over it, Mun is never one to not make the best of his situation, he sends another powerful claw into the monsters back. One hit two hits, three hits in a matter of moments, Mun managed to escape the encirclement and cripple one of the three spiders in the process. With a swift moment of his feet, he turns around to face the spider, slashing it once more, the last hit finally drops the spider to the ground dead. The other two spiders are already coming close dashing towards him, tick tick, the sound grew louder as they closed in. one comes from the ceiling the other from the floor. Mun could hear the terrifying hissing emitting from the two spiders, they were angry. The top spider spit a strange fluid onto Mun, causing his wooden body to deteriorate, acid Mun thought. The bottom spider attacked with its mandibles, but Mun preemptively back away. Mun extracted some left over metal inside his body to form a metallic tendril his back. Mun dashed towards the bottom spider, slashing its eyes with two of his legs and attacking the third with the tendril on his back, trying to swipe its legs off the wall. The bottom spider staggers backing away, the spider above barely budges and throws another acid attack at Mun. Mun realizes that if he takes more hits, it will certainly be the last hits he takes. The bottom spider recovered and began preparing its next attack, Mun moves his body backwards, dodging the slash, but is hit with another dose of acid. Mun prepares his next attack, only to be hit by goblin he hadn¡¯t noticed, while being preoccupied with the spiders, Mun didn¡¯t notice a goblin step behind him. Mun¡¯s wooden leg snapped in two at the force of the goblins attack. Mun wasn¡¯t going to let this situation get him. He turned his leg into a large wooden vine, the vine searched like a snake its prey, for the goblins neck. Mun couldn¡¯t believe what he was about to do but after getting a good grip on the goblins neck, its feeble attempts to dodge failing; Mun flung the goblin towards the Spiders like a rage doll. The legs smack the top spider across the face. The spider instinctively pierced the poor goblins flesh with its pincers. The goblin then, like a mallet, hit the bottom spider on top of the head, dazing both the goblin and the spider. Using his metal tendril, Mun pierces right through the goblins stomach and into the bottom spiders armor. Both laid there dead, impaled together into a demented kind of shish kabob. Mun instinctually knew that another acid attack would mean his death, he tries to flee, but the kabob kept him from going, it was asking to be eaten, not letting go of its creator go. The spider above seemed to prepare its acidic salvia, Mun watched as the Spider prepared its attack, Mun didn¡¯t know if he would die or not, but he couldn¡¯t accept dying like this. Dying by his own arrogance, trying to collect money to save a girl he didn¡¯t know. What would become of Aura, man thoughts raced in his head. ¡°I won¡¯t die here!!¡± Mun extracted wood from his body to create a shield, the spider spits its acid, hoping to hit Mun before his shield is full up, but its to late, the wooden wall is almost entirely up, leaving Mun as an amalgamation of metal and monsters parts, his body was almost entirely gone. Only a small amount of wood to hold up his eyes remained. His eyes were getting heavy, but he couldn¡¯t sleep now, Mun send another metal tendril, penetrating his wooden wall and into the spiders head. The spider loses its grip on the wall falling onto its dead comrade. Mun couldn¡¯t keep his eyes open, his vison was becoming hazy, everything was turning white. He could still hear the spider in front of him, it was still alive, and coming closer. ¡°I can¡¯t die!!¡± Mun yells, ¡°not here.¡±he says with a whimper . To turn the bad to worse, he could feel something coming up behind him, another monster he thought. ¡°I¡¯m dead¡± his eyes fall to the ground, to heavy to lift, and his exposed heart trying to find the abundant metal to hide inside. *Beeb*

Chapter 18: Luca

??????Chapter: 18: Luca

Mun wakes to an aching body, it isn¡¯t muscle pain, but it is similar, he can¡¯t put his finger on it, nut his once nimble body, is now heavy and stiffer than before, almost as if someone has covered him in weights to press down his body. Mun opens his eyes and is greeted with the sight of a large snake woman, the same one he saw a day earlier. She has been sleeping on one corner of the room. Mun looked around, glowing rocks gleamed in the walls of the cave, giving off a strange warmth and a nauseating feeling. ¡°I¡¯m in a safe room¡± Mun says aloud, almost confused. How can I still be alive, he thought, did she save me? The lamia¡¯s ears perk up, she hears a voice, the voice of the creature she had saved a few hours earlier. The same creature she jumped in fear the previous day. She untangles herself from her body, to greet the creature. Mun Look on as the enormous woman turn her body, Mun instinctively tries to take a few steps back only to discover that he has no legs. He moves his hands to see, again he had no hands, replacing both hands a feet are metallic tendrils. He moved his eyes like he did when he was first born, to see the state of himself. Am I a bunch of tentacles again? He thought remembering his first time alive and being nothing but an entangled wood mesh. He looks at his metal tendrils and realizes that he has evolved. The only explanation possible. His size, it had been greatly reduced, he could still feel the wood inside if him, but he no longer felt as strong a connection to it; now it was the metal that called him, that he couldn freely control. ¡°h-h-he-e-hello?¡± The voice a woman entered his ears. A strongly calming and kind voice. Yet there was no sense of familiarity to Mun, an ability of a lamia perhaps, or perhaps it is precisely because it is a voice he has never before. The voice not only sounded pleasant to hear, but Mun sensed a slight tone of apprehension in her voice. He turns his floating eyeballs to face her, she recoils, her face moves left in right, trying to conceal her fear. Does she fear by looks too? Mun thought, remembering the scaring he caused Aura. ¡°Hello.¡± Mun responded plainly, the tone of his voice all dull and concise. The lamia becomes upset at his form of speaking, her face dropped ever so slightly, before jumping back into a slight smile. The two monsters stared at each other for seconds; to Mun he just didn¡¯t know what else to say to her, but she was simply to shy, or perhaps too excited to say anything more. Am I shy? Or too excited? I don¡¯t know!! But, but I¡¯m happy, she calmed herself, making sure to not show her over excitement. Not once had she met another monster like her, all the humans feared her and ran or attacked her. She has been alone for so long. ¡°hello.¡± No one to talk too, no one to say hello to. ¡°hello!¡± She said a third time, making sure that he could hear her. She had been so preoccupied with her thoughts, she didn¡¯t notice the stream of tears flowing down her rosy cheeks. ¡°Hello¡± Mun didn¡¯t know how to respond to her tears, discomfort starts to take over Mun¡¯s other emotions, so he only responded in kind. ¡°Hello.¡± She said again. Then again. Mun played along responding with a hello of his own, they didn¡¯t know how much time had past but it had surly been a while. Mun continued responding, why he entertained the lamia, even Mun didn¡¯t know. Out of pity for her, or out of obligation to her, he didn¡¯t understand his actions, even so, he continued to say hello to her until she was content. Never, had he ever met a woman so pitiful as her. Perhaps he sees it in her eyes, but they were of a similar kind to him, when he was younger. Afraid, too afraid to do anything. ¡°I-I-I I¡¯m s-sorry for talking to much¡± She finally said after an unknown amount of time, her tears now dried. ¡°It¡¯s alright.¡± Mun says, his voice still the same as before, this time he didn¡¯t see her frown. ¡°w-w-h-hats your na-ame?¡± her voice quivered, it was weak from nervousness. ¡°Mun¡± Before Mun couldn¡¯t decline to tell her, his thoughts had already revealed his name. ¡°M-m-my name is L-L-Luca¡± she covered her chest with her arms, not out of shame, but to feel safer. She always felt safer when wrapped by her tails thick scales, but she had to face the monster face to face, so she usea her arms as a substitute for her tail. ¡°are you cold?¡± Mun asked, wondering why she spoke while trembling and why she started to cover herself so suddenly. She tilts her head to one side, Mun could almost see the question marks floating above her head. Dumb question, she has half a snakes body, so I guess that makes her half cold blooded? Mun began to wonder about the logistics of having half a serpent¡¯s body. ¡°did you save me?¡± She shook her head from side to side, a social cue to remembered from a group of adventurers she once saw. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it. ¡°I-I- just picked you up and ran here.¡± Isn¡¯t that what saving is? Mun thought. ¡°Thank you, but now I need to go, I¡¯ve been wasting too much time hear sorry. ¡± Mun tells her as he begins to spit out wood from his body, morphing it like he had before. It was no longer a part of him, but he still had some influence over it. He used the wood that was still intact and used it as an outer shell, forming a human esque body. The metal covered his chest and eyes. His wooden hands were coated in metal as well as his shins and feet. He stands up to her the wood crack in strange ways. The wood was no longer as malleable as it once was. It was stiffer but still flexible enough to function as legs, albeit with slightly slower movements. ¡°You can¡¯t, you won¡¯t make it.¡± Her voice came out clearer, she made sure to get it across as quickly as possible, she couldn¡¯t afford to let him not hear her. Mun turns towards the exit, facing away from Luca. ¡°I-tts alm-most time for t-that.¡± ¡°That?¡± Mun asked confused. ¡°Yy-ou don¡¯t k-know?¡± She slithered closer, Mun quickly turns around to see her only a few feet away from him. He takes a couple steps back. ¡°No. I got out of my dungeon at a very early age.¡± He explained, not telling her that he is technically only a few months old. Luca closes her eyes, trying to steady her breathing. ¡°E-every so many cycles, something happens to the others?¡± Others? Mun thought before quickly realizing that she is referring to the other monsters. ¡°it h-happens to us too, k-kind of? I get stronger, and so do the others. During this time, a-all of them try to a-attack us. We n-need to s-stay close to the s-shiny rocks, they d-don¡¯t attack here o-often.¡± ¡°Don¡¯t they already attack us?¡± Mun says, Luca shakes her head, denying it with all her strength. ¡°I mean¡. They all attacks us.¡± All? As in all of the monsters In the dungeon? ¡°all?¡± she nods her head, something she does because it is the opposite to shaking her head. ¡°How much time do we have? I need to get somewhere.¡± In the back of Muns mind, he feels like he has to now work over time, to compensate for the metal he was going to sell. The metal is now a part of his body, and he can only take so much of his body out before he becomes too weak to function. ¡°t-there is a p-place on the f-floor below here. T-there, t-there is a lot of s-shiny rocks, o-once each one b-be-ecomes dull, the b-blood f-feast starts. But, we b-become stronger a-after.¡± she raises her human hand, it is pale, like it had never seen the sun, snow white, mun thought. ¡°last time I checked there was this many left¡± she raises her other hand and flips her index finger and places it next to her other hand. ¡°6¡± she doesn¡¯t understand what six is, but nods her head anyways. ¡°Than we should have enough time. The exit is not to far from here.¡± Lucas eyes glisten for a moment. ¡°Its is!!??¡± She slithers closer, Mun takes a few steps back. ¡°Yes.¡± ¡°I¡¯ve always wanted to see the outside, I¡¯ve always heard the humans talk about it.¡± She began to talk about the times she has heard humans talk about the outside world, about the sun, the moon. ¡°you understand the human language.¡± She nods her head. She doesn¡¯t understand much, but after 20 years of humans coming and going she picked a few things up, here and there. ¡°I can¡¯t speak it though.¡± Mun had been gifted with the ability to understand all languages, but Luca had to learn it slowly, over the course of many years. She tried so hard to learn it, she wanted to tell the humans that came into the dungeon, that she wasn¡¯t the enemy, but she never had the guts to confront them, even after she had learned quite a bit of their language. ¡°C-c-can I go with you.¡± ¡°No,¡± Mun doesn¡¯t want to deal with her, she seemed¡.. What does she seem like? Mun thought. He couldn¡¯t find a reason to decline her offer. She had never seen the outside world, she doesn¡¯t have anyone to guide her through it, she is helpless. Helpless, like he was, like Aura was. She too is like him, right? Even so he didn¡¯t feel comfortable to be near a woman for such a long period of time. Unless¡ ¡°yes that could work.¡± Mun muttered. ¡°No?¡± Mun could almost hear her heart break as she repeated his answer. ¡°forget what I just said, you can come with me, but I am going to need some help first.¡± This could work, Mun thought. ¡°YES!!¡± The lamia slithered closer and closer, Mun takes a few steps back, but Luca was determined to grab a hold of him. She wraps her arms around him and lifts him up with her. ¡°Thank you!! Thank you!!¡± She yelled excitedly. Her body was cold, His mana sense could feel it, it was cooling his body. ¡°that alright, just get off me.¡± Muns heart rate increased, he kept cool and pushed Lucas head away from him, but she kept pushing herself closer to his metal chest. It takes a while for her excitement to die down and put the haggard Mun down. ¡°Please, don¡¯t ever do that again.¡± Mun takes a few steps back, making sure to keep Luca at arm¡¯s length. He has never met a woman like her. She was erratic and unbound by social norms. Mun had always took advantage of the fact that no woman would not touch him because of those social norms; But to Luca, a monster who has been trapped in a dungeon for all her life, she doesn¡¯t care even if her bare breasts are showing, nor understands the distance she needs to keep between people. ¡°First rule!!¡± Mun began. ¡°Eeek! Luca tensed up from his yell, straightening up her spine in attention. ¡°Don¡¯t touch or hug people you don¡¯t know or are not close too.¡± She nods to Mun. ¡°Secondly, is their anyway you can make yourself look more human?¡± Luca thinks for a moment. ¡°I can¡¯t physically change how I look, but I can make it so people see me differently.¡± Lamias have the natural ability to cast Illusions on themselves. Making themselves appear differently than what they are, often times normal lamias instinctually transform into maidens asking for help, then they break the Illusion and kill whatever poor sap was foolish enough to believe that a beautiful maiden was asking for help in a dungeon. ¡°do you know where I can find more metal?¡± Mun said pointing to the metal parts of his body. He need to collect more and sell it. All of the metal he had on him had been used to evolve into what he was now. then he thinks for a moment. ¡°do you know where I can find a certain metal with a black sheen?¡± Mun began describing the metal. The rarest of them all. ¡°I think I know where there might be some, but its this many places below this one.¡± Luca shows two fingers. ¡°that¡¯ low.¡± How strong is this lamia before him. Mun has had a hard time with the monsters of this floor, let alone 2 floors down, how strong must the monsters there be? He checked her level before and checked it again to make sure, but it was the same, She was only a level 20 lamia. ¡°How did you get down there?¡± She frowned, not wanting to remember much of what she had experienced on that floor. ¡°I was their when I was little, most of my life I think. I would always see humans come and go, but one time I saw where they came from, and went through there. I kept looking for place to go up and up, because I was safer and safer.¡± Of course, She managed to get down here after human defeated the boss monsters blocking each floor. After she did it the first time she realized that the monsters were weaker the higher the floor. Even so, on level 4 the monsters have to be level 25 or so. Luca probably doesn¡¯t realize she is a lot stronger than she was back then. A 5 level difference isn¡¯t that much when you consider it, Mun thought. ¡°Can you take me there?¡± Luca wanted to shake her head., but she also wanted to leave this place once and for all. The person in front of her was her only hope, he knew the outside world more than she. Luca reluctantly nods her head. Mun exits the room with Luca walking close behind. Chapter 19: Her Her ¡°Really!!¡± Luca exclaimed, jumping about. Excitement overwhelming her, still not believing that she has finally met another of her kin, and to the surprises that there is more of her kind out there. ¡°How does this Maximus guy look like?¡± She asks, her eyes shining brightly, and her hands praying for a quick response. ¡°um, uh, well he has the head of a bull I guess.¡± Mun responses, trying to hide his awkwardness of the strange lamia with no sense of distance. Being weary of women naturally, he makes sure to be 5 steps away from her at all times. ¡°A minotaur!!!¡± Mun¡¯s legs jump, not expecting a sudden scream In front of them. ¡°I saw one once!!¡± Luca, still oblivious that her presence, nay her existence, made Mun uneasy. ¡°Could you move a bit faster, I¡¯m under a time constraint.¡± Luca stops, Mun makes sure to not take another step closer. She turns to face Mun, twisting her bottom half in the way only a snake can. Mun¡¯s dark vison now seemed to be completely leveled, he could see everything in black and white with absolute clarity. He could see the ridges of the stone cave, the slightly wet floor, and the small tears drops that Lucas eyes try to contain. ¡°I¡¯m sorry.¡± Lucas eyes ask for forgiveness. She moves a step closer, Mun takes a step back. He hates me. She thinks, as her heart begins to clench. She had hoped that if she ever met someone like herself, that they could be friends. No longer being able to contain her tears, they start flowing down her cheeks. Mun couldn¡¯t move, he had never thought about a women¡¯s feelings all that much, but he pitied the one before him. He was frozen in place, by his fear, disgust, and even pity. What am I supposed to do? He nervously asks himself. ¡°I¡¯m sorry¡± she whimpers, trying to wipe away the tears with her hands. ¡°Um, no.¡± Her whimpers stop for a moment, she lowers her small hands from her teary eyes to look at Mun. ¡°Uh, I mean. I¡¯m not mad or anything.¡± He avoids her gaze, not wanting unnecessary eye contact. ¡°Really!!¡± almost as if she was never upset in the first place, her faces glows brightly, her beauty radiates brightly as her lips begin to form a smile. Luca runs towards Mun, extending her arms like a large child about to hug her teddy bear. Mun takes several steps back, avoiding her attack with grace. ¡°You are mad aren¡¯t you!¡± She wines. ¡°I thought we were close¡± she whimpers. ¡°No, its just not normal to hug people like that. Especially not naked.¡± Mun was correct, though that was not the only reason for his discomfort, in fact he didn¡¯t care about nudity or hugs even a little bit, it is because she is a she that he feels uneasy. ¡°But I¡¯ve seen humans hug each other like this.¡± It seems she has seen things she probably shouldn¡¯t have, Mun thought. Why the hell were they doing that in a dungeon!!?? Mun couldn¡¯t think of any reason for people to commit indecent acts in a dungeon. ¡°Maybe it¡¯s a turn on in this world?¡± ¡°What?¡± ¡°Uh, nothing. Anyways, its not normal, so stop.¡± Mun didn¡¯t want to tell Luca about what she actually saw. Luca guided Mun, going from corner to corner and never losing her sense of place. She had already grown familiar with everything in the dungeon. Her heart beating quick from excitement and fear. She will finally going out of the dungeon after so many years, but she will also have to go back into the lower floors, worst of all it is so close to that day.Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings. ¡°Here is the boss room.¡± She had fought the boss once before, she didn¡¯t know she would be forced to fight, she didn¡¯t know she would be trapped in there either. Her hands trembled remembering being trapped in the room for so many nights. The room was slightly bigger and lit with glowing stones all around the room; stones similar and yet different than the stones that offered protection. Mun enters first, passing right by the trembling Luca. The boss this time was a Troll, level 20. ¡°Kill.¡± The troll spoke, its voice gravely and rough. ¡°What?¡± Mun has never heard a normal monster speak. ¡°They do that a lot, the closer that time comes.¡± Luca trembled hiding in the corner of a room. The others speaking is probably what terrified her most of that day. Mun makes his first attack, piercing the troll with his new and improved metal tendrils. The Troll is to slow to dodge and takes the hit directly. RARR, the troll shrieked, beginning to wildly flail his arms in all directions in an attempt to knock Mun¡¯s tendrils out of the way. Mun walks towards the monster, constantly sending his tendril two at time, little by little Mun starts to attack like a piston, one hits, the other arrives a moment later, the troll wasn¡¯t in pain, nor do Muns attacks seem to have a good effect. Unlike before when Mun was made of wood, using the dead body parts of animals will only weaken his attacks. The troll finally grabs Muns tendril, sheer luck or something else? Mun couldn¡¯t think properly as he saw the Troll in front of him in one moment, and above the next. The sounds of metal against stone rings loudly inside the chamber, Muns wooden body shatters from the force. The attack was strong, but it was nothing like when he fought the golem, that monster was a lot stronger than this troll, or at least it felt like it. The troll raises his hand in as a fist, ready to knock Mun if he tries to get up, but then it stops. It doesn¡¯t move. ¡°Hurry, I can only do this for a little bit!!¡± Luca yells, her eyes glowing a scarlet red. Mun leaves his wooden parts, instead using metal to slither around. Mun compacts his form into an long and lanky creature without legs, a metal wormlike appearance. He slithers up the troll¡¯s legs, Luca didn¡¯t understand what he was trying to do, but continued her ¡°Trance¡±. The troll could do nothing but watch as Mun run up his neck and down his leg and back to his neck, tightening both sides tighter and tighter. It¡¯s legs were being shattered all the while his breaths were becoming shorter and shorter. Mun had wrapped his body around the Troll¡¯s neck and used the Trolls own legs as a way to grab a hold on him. A minute passes, the Troll struggling for breath, trying to fruitlessly break free. Mun holds on tight, refusing to release the poor troll, when he suddenly hears a crack behind him, near the Trolls head. Mun looks back to see that the Trolls head had been crushed into thousands of stone pieces. Luca had wrapped her body around the troll¡¯s head and crushed it. She was strong, stronger that Mun had previously thought. Mun lets go of the troll¡¯s limp body. Quickly reforming his body into something resembling the skeleton of human, he still doesn¡¯t have enough metal to create a proper human form. ¡°You, uh, killed it.¡± Mun responded, slightly surprised that an easily scared girl like Luca could do such a thing. Her trance ability was also suspect. Could she have used that ability on me? Is that why she feels different? Mun began to think of the possibility that Luca was in actuality a cunning monster capable of tricking her foes into a false sense of security. ¡°It was so sad. You were hurting him.¡± Mun only stared at her, surprised at the response he got. Could it be that she killed him out of mercy? Instead of the slow death Mun was giving the creature, Luca preferred to end it, and cease its misery. ¡°sometimes that ask me to kill them.¡± I see, Mun began to connect the dots, she sees them as her kin; they are simply ill, is that it? A normal person would kill a crazy person as fast they could, if it was all they could do. Its like killing zombies close to you perhaps? I¡¯m sorry I doubted you, he quietly says to her, making sure she doesn¡¯t hear. Hope was like that too. In the end, she was too kind for her own good. ¡°are you okay¡± Luca slithered closer towards Mun, worried about his condition. ¡°I¡¯m fine just lead the way.¡± ¡°Okay.¡± ¡°Ah, I can¡¯t¡± Luca slither towards the door and realizes that its gone. ¡°the doors gone.¡± Luca smiles and points to a door that isn¡¯t there anymore. ¡°Can¡¯t you open it?¡± Her eyes tell Mun, she didn¡¯t know that. ¡°I can?¡± ¡°yes.¡± Luca goes to the door and starts rubbing it with her hands. ¡°open, open, please open mr door.¡± Mun raises his fist to his mouth, his laughter trying to escape his lips. Watching Luca start dancing and singing, asking the door to open was too much, BWAHAHA, Mun¡¯s laughter reaches Luca. Her body convulses in surprise. The door opens a moment later. ¡°What, what is it?¡± Luca asks Mun if everything was alright. ¡°You didn¡¯t eat that mushroom right?¡± Laughing mushroom, a very dangerous thing to eat when in a dungeon, even though it does have some healing properties. ¡°Oh no, its okay, I know how to fix it.¡± Luca runs towards the now open door, only to be hit by an invisible wall. ¡°Ow!!¡± Luca looks to Mun, and he at her. ¡°BWAHAHAHA¡± Mun start to uncontrollably roll on the ground, his metallic body clinking with every turn to one side. ¡°I¡¯m so-haha, sorry.¡± Mun tries on calm himself, giggling every other breath. ¡°Sorry. Bhaha, sorry.. that was just too funny.¡± Luca stares at him, her cheeks start to turn a pink hue, She never sang in front of others before, she had always been alone. Now thinking about it, singing is really embarrassing. ¡°Sit.¡± Mun instructs her, Luca obeys. ¡°we¡¯re gonna be stuck here for a while it seems¡± Luca had accidentally become the floor boss, she is trapped for an unknown amount of time. Luca lays down, taking a good amount of space to stretch her body. She fidgets her fingers, not knowing what to do next. ¡°Can, I ask you about the outside some more?¡± Mun smiles, gesturing to ask away. It had been so long since he met such a sweet person. Perhaps he was happy, that he could talk to a woman, and not worry of something happening. Maybe he had taken a liking to her. Update: Minor changes. So, as I''m sure many of your already know. I am really ocd about logistics of how a world works. Because I''ve been so focused on that, haven''t been able to proberly write the actual story, thus the lack of chapters. So I''ve decided, for my own sanity and the contiuation of the story, I''m not going to go extremly percise laws of everything, but rather many basic rules to more eaisly understand everything. This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. Secondly, The chapters will now be released on tuesday, instead of Mondays, from now on. Lastly, to make up for lost time, the next week, I''ll release 3 chapters intsead of the regular 1. Please continue to read this story. Ps: answer the poll. Final Revision sorry for going dark again, I''ve just been constatnly thinking on how to work our power levels and stuff. I''ve decided that it invovles to many variables to pinpoint exactly how much stronger a person is to another, so instead I''ll use vaguer terms. this is so that it not only, doesn''t ruin the suspense of the story but also allows me to sleep calmly not having to estimate power levels every time there is a fight.Reading on this site? Chapter 20: 3rd Floor

¡°I-I-I t-t-think its near h-here¡± Luca points to one of the may cave paths. Luca trembled as she pointed towards their path. It hadn¡¯t been long since Mun and Luca made it out of the boss room. Ever since than Luca has been trembling, weary of each step she took. She must be scared of this place, she did say that there were a lot of bad things that happened to her in the upper floors. She was only a kid when she was here. I wonder how hard it must have been, to be so alone in a place like this¡.. At least¡ I had one person in my life that meant something, that was there for me, but her¡ Mun pitifully looks to the snake women, her sweet smile hiding all her hardships, but her trembling betrayed her true emotions. Mun thinks of Luca¡¯s situation, her fear of being the only one to be capable of thought in a place where everyone you know is insane. Mun wanted to tell her that she could slow down, but so much time has already been lost, if he counts the days by sleeps it has probably already been three days since he has been here. That is four days in total, he only has two more days to get out of here and sell everything to buy Yeo. ¡°Watch out!!¡± Luca yells in frights but before mun can react to the flaming arrows that come flying forth from the walls , Luca wraps Mun¡¯s entire body with her scaly tail. ¡°EGGH!!!¡± Luca tries to contain her screams, so that the other monster aren¡¯t alerted. She She tightens her tail, unintentionally strangling Mun in the process, his metal body contorting at the sheer strength being imposed on it. Mun attempts to flow out in his liquid metal state, but she only tightens her grip , the more he tries to escape, the tighter he felt the tail take hold of him. Luca manages to relax her muscles long enough for Mun to escape. Mun thanked his new body, if he were still human, he would have certainly been crushed. Mun shivered as the crushed skull of the troll, entered his thoughts. ¡°I¡¯m s-sorry.¡± Her voice quivers as she speaks, worried that Mun may have become angry with her. Ignoring Luca, Mun calls his metal back to one place, forming his odd skeletal human body once more ¡°I forgot to tell you.¡± Luca starts to tear up. ¡°On the third and fourth floor, there are traps everywhere, especially on the 4th floor. ¡± Luca unconsciously tries to hide her tail, not wanting Mun to be worried about her injuries. ¡°T-there are also m-monsters that sometimes w-work together, we n-need to b-be careful.¡± Especially at this time, she thinks to herself. ¡°Ok.¡± Mun finally responds, not indifferent but not caring either. ¡°Are you angry?¡± She asks, her arms wrapping around her waist, in an attempt to feel secure within the dark dungeon halls. Something that was no longer dark to her after her dark vison had reached its peak, even so she remembered the nights when all she had was her tail to comfort her. The monster before her, is someone she wants to hold tightly, she could finaly hold someone other then herself, no, she may even be embraced by another. The thought of it drowned her fears as she imagined being held by another; but the person before her didn¡¯t like to be held, or perhaps he didn¡¯t like her? The thought had crossed her mind several times since their first meeting, but she didn¡¯t want to believe it, and even if it were to be true, Luca had already decided to be grateful to the first monster she had spoken too her entire life. He spoke to her, not in grunts or asking for death, but spoke to her and she responded. The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. ¡°No.¡± Mun doesn¡¯t like that she likes being so close, he doesn¡¯t t like the fact that she nearly strangled him and he doesn¡¯t like the fact that he needs her help. Despite everything, he isn¡¯t angry, he can¡¯t be. How could he be angry when she allowed herself to be injured for him. ¡°Really.¡± Her voice quivers, her face asking if she can hope to is not hated by the first person that she has ever spoken to. ¡°It¡¯s fine, let¡¯s move on.¡± His discomfort clearly shows on his face, he wanted to hide it from her, she was too pathetic for him not to pity her. Mun didn¡¯t realize that Luca had lurked in the darkness much longer than he has, her vison is perfect, wither in darkness or light, she can see the small stones that made up the ground, the peculiar metal and wood amalgamation before her, she can also see, Muns eyes that look away from her, avoid, not just her eyes, but her entire being. He had been doing so ever since they first started taking. A chill ran down her spine, her fear of being left alone tries to consume her, but she quickly shakes it off, tightening her arms around her body for comfort. Luca continues forward, making sure to check for any traps that may be set off, and every so often helping Mun defeat any lurking monsters that try to attack. The further she slithered towards the next boss room, the stronger her anxiety grew and along with it, her trembling. Mun took note of it long ago, but he didn¡¯t say anything to ease her fears, he himself wonders if it out is of malice or distrust, or perhaps the inability to understand women. Even so he allows her suffering to progress, all the while something whispering in his ears, telling him to calm her, to ease her pain. ¡°she has suffered just like you¡± The voice spoke softly into his ears. ¡°She will be like you, perhaps its not to late.¡± It echoed in his mind again. Mun stared at Lucas back, scars slowly began to mark her back, as his vison improved little by little; some deep, some not so deep. They were proof, that she had been in this hell for her entire life. Despite all the horrors Mun imagined she went through, despite him seeing her nearly dying year after year, day after day. She smiled at him, with such benignity. She is still innocent her purity remains despite the cruelty of her world, he thought, she still had hope in her eyes, something that Mun sometimes wondered if he still had. Her eyes, still glimmered in this darkness, a beacon of light, she hadn¡¯t given up, something Mun didn¡¯t think he could achieve if he was alone like her. ¡°w-w-e¡¯re close.¡± She words spill out of her mouth, clumsily begging for air. Mun only contuies to stare at her back, fighting within himself but inevitably doing nothing to ease her worry. I¡¯m sorry, he thought, half for himself and half for her. He wanted to help her. She is like him, but not yet corrupted by hatred or disdain for her own existence. He wants to be, what hope was for him. That had been his desire all along. It is the very reason he entered child services. He wanted to be that beacon of hope, now he had his chance; but his past keeps him from extending his hand. ¡¡¡¡¡¡. The Room was similar to all previous boss rooms, the room was lit by glowing white stones, stones reminiscent of quartz crystals. On the walls, grew greenish moss, but if it was actually moss, Mun did not know. With it, a smell Mun¡¯s senses identified as, slightly bad. The biggest difference in the boss room, is not the golem at the center of the room, but rather the surprising size of the room. ¡°Its bigger¡± Visually bigger than it other boss rooms. From what Mun can tell, it is the size of an entire floor in a small house. Enough to run around freely. The golem, stood motionless in the room, only waiting for intruders to activate it. In bold letters, the words level 25 floated atop the monsters head, alongside it, the word Golem. His previous battle with a golem didn¡¯t end well, but Mun had now evolved, he is now stronger, surly he can take on a level 25 golem, it is only an 8 level difference he thought. Her help, the thought crosses his mind for a brief moment, he will need her help. No he can¡¯t ask her for more help, the shame is to much, or is it his distrust what keeps him from asking. He didn¡¯t like entering the boss rooms, she likes to stand behind him at these times, making Mun uneasy. ¡°Lets go.¡± Mun enters, passing Luca, who has been in front of Mun nearly the entire journey. Soon, he thought, soon he could leave her, if he can find Maximus. He can leave her with him. He just needs that metal, On the way over he has found bits and pieces, but he needs to make sure he has enough. Enough to buy Yeo, and to help the two girls cross the country safely. The golem straightens its back the moment the two enter the room. Its eyes glow a bright red, from the gem inside its body. At his center another red stone glowed, its chest pulsating red with blood lust. Mun didn¡¯t know it, but it would a battle that would open a door that he never would open for a person like him. Side Chapter: Slave market

Side Chapter: Slave Market

She doesn¡¯t remember how long its been since she¡¯s been out of a cage, but soon she will be free, someone will buy her soon, or at least that is what she had been told. The man looked terrifying, he hid behind a wooden mask and his bright green eyes seemed to glow in the darkness, but not like her eyes, it was almost luminescent . Normally she would be afraid of being bought by someone, but she felt calm. He had said the name of her dear friend, but she is sure that it wasn¡¯t the man in the mask who bought her. It was 4 human adventurers looking for a child. She didn¡¯t know why but the older slaves said that she was lucky. Aura was lucky? She asked a fellow neighbor. ¡°she¡¯ll die quickly¡± is all her neighbor responded with. ¡°Am I lucky?¡± Yea asked her neighbor, the filth covering her no longer smelled as terribly as it once did. The woman in the cage next to Yeo looked at her with sorrowful eyes and simply nodded her head. The woman, holding her tears back, smiles to yeo. ¡°Yes, your lucky¡±, she says extending a hand from her cage into yeos. So I¡¯ll die quickly too? The thought calmed her, and yet it felt wrong. She felt that something good was going to happen. The woman¡¯s hand was warm on Yeos dirt grimed cheek. The woman looked sad for yeo, but yeo only smiled, trying to comfort her neighbor. ¡°Your not lucky, girl.¡± The woman lets go of yeo, startled by the voice that came from the other side of Yeo. A new neighbor. She had a long tail her hair a crimson red, Yeo for a moment thought that her hair was soaked In blood. her Head was that of human but her nose and eyes were that of lizard. Her arms had thick green scales that went from her legs to her neck and most of her face. Only her cheeks and her lips had a somewhat similar appearance to that of most species. Yeo immediately understands that she is ¡°Draconian¡± yeo lets those words out, in surprise. The woman smiles. ¡°why so surprised?¡± Her father had told her about Draconians, They are a fierce and powerful race known more for their combat prowess than for their magic. They don¡¯t often end as slaves and they never end up as slaves for humans or any race other than draconian, its their pride that even their slaves cannot be bought by those of the other races. To the draconian, even their enslaved brethren are superior to the other races. The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. ¡°Shut up lizard¡± The slave trader walks down the aisle of cages, stopping right in front of yeo. He smiles a wicked grin. ¡°Fuck you.¡± The Draconian curses the slaver. The slaver responding to the taunt, moves towards the Draconian and opens her cage. With two hands he pulls the enormous woman out of the cage and onto the floor. ¡°You lizards only learn with a good beating don¡¯t you?¡± The slaver screams as he kicks the Draconian¡¯s face into the ground not letting her rest for even a moment before pulling her hair and forcing her to look at him. ¡°You talk again I break you arm¡± She gives him a wry, bloodied, smile before spiting her blood soaked saliva onto his face. He pushes her to the ground, confident that she can¡¯t hurt him because of the slave collar and snaps her arm in to. Yeo jumps at the sound of the snap her arm makes, but the Draconian doesn¡¯t flinch. Instead she begins to laugh ¡°HAHAHA¡± as he picks her up and shoves her back into her cage; and she continues to laugh as the slaver locks her cage shut. ¡°Whats so fucking funny?¡± He screams at her, half in fear and half in anger. ¡°Do you know what my name¡± she says blood trickling down her mouth and onto her rags. Draconian names always have a meaning behind. Everyone knows this, but the slaver doesn¡¯t want to talk to her anymore. ¡°I don¡¯t give a fuc!!¡± before he can finish his sentence, she grabs him with her left arm, the one yet to be broken, covering his mouth with her oddly feminine hand. Fear overwhelms him as he hears his bones crack under the pressure of her fingers. She forces his face against the cage, a loud thud resounds throughout the low-lit tent. ¡°My name is Kalliet¡± She whispers into his ear as it grinds against the metal cage. As soon as she lets go the slaver falls backwards his heart pounding in fear for his life. Her eyes gleam an emerald green and stare back at him, deep as an ocean and seemingly eyeing him thinking of every possible way to kill him. His legs force him up, telling him needs to get away from her. He disappears out of view. ¡°Perhaps, girl, you are lucky¡± Kalliet whispers to herself. ¡¡¡¡¡. ¡°sir.¡± The young slaver speaks to his boss. ¡°What do you have to report¡± the boss asks as he he sits down on his chair. ¡°I¡¯ve seen a demon child at a nearby inn.¡± ¡°oh?¡± The boss¡¯s ears perk up at the news. Demons make good slaves because humans have less of a problem with their rights. With humans there is always someone pestering slavers, but no one ever says anything when it¡¯s a demon slave, or a draconian for that matter. ¡°we should take her.¡± ¡°She never leaves the inn sir.¡± The boss smiles to himself as he looks at his subordinate. ¡°Than we¡¯ll just have to go pay for nights stay.¡± This is just time too, since the lord of the town will arrive tomorrow. He would certainly love to buy children. With two demons, that¡¯s a lot of gold, the wretched man thinks to himself. Chapter 21: An Exception Chapter 21: An Exception Luca, as usual, stood at the furthest corner of the room. Mun looked at the Golem as the words, Retrieval time: 20 sec, appear; the amount of time he needs to look at the Golems health and power. The golem runs towards Mun, The same style as the last golem he fought.

The Golem strikes Mun with its massive fist, Muns turns his body, barely avoiding the monster''s fist. The ground shakes from the sheer force of the rock creature¡¯s strength. I should definitely avoid its hits, Mun thought as he turned his skeletal hands into metal blades.
???????????????10 secs remaining
Mun lunges forward, attacking the golems back, using his blade to chip the monstrous creatures stone but instead of making a dent on its body, Mun hears a strange soft sound barely audible but it was there. The Golem was fine, it was as if something invisible stopped his attack.
??????????????5 secs remaining
The golem twists its body in an unnatural way, hitting Mun with its stone arm, the force of it flings Mun to the other side of the room hitting the stone wall. Disoriented, Mun lifts his metal body of the ground, each motion more difficult than the last. the golem had other plans, it was already making a run towards him, Mun remembers his wooden body being crushed under the heavy weight of a golem, a similar situation was unfolding, but this time it would be different. Mun rolls to the side but doesn''t do it quickly enough to dodge the golem''s body. Fear eats at him, in that moment, not for his life, but for Aura and Yeo, they need him to be alive. He had never been frozen by fear of death. He had to do something but the more he thought of a way to escape the more he felt it was hopeless. He wanted to give up, as he always does when things get hard. Give up, he tells himself, as he tries to deny any responsibility for his predicament. In the same instant he looked at Luca, she looked afraid, she was too scared to move. Her eyes were filled with tears. "I," Mun said to himself.
????????????????Information received
"can''t die here" Mun tears the metal, the part that had been trapped by the golem and the wall, and slithers like a snake up the creatures neck. Mun sharpens his snake body into a sharp blade and begins to run circles on the Golems body, slowly grinding it down. The golem runs towards a wall in an attempt to break his body, but Mun wasn¡¯t going to let go so easily, he grinds the left arm, then goes to the right. "It isn''t working." Despite grinding the stone golems body, it sounded strange, different than it should have. Instead of hearing the sound of metal grind against stone, he could hear a low, barely audible, dull shhshshs sound. he let go of the golem''s body and slithered to make some distance.

¡°Get out of my way!!¡± Mun Screams, as he attempts to move away from the screens way, but it follows him, even his line of sight. Mun hears the golems Thumps first. ¡°shit!!¡± a moment later he hears the agonizing screams of a woman. ¡°AGH!!!!¡± Luca!! Mun screams internally. The screen before him finally dissipates and he sees Lucas tail, crushed against the golems large body and the stone wall. Her eyes wet with tears fall on her naked body as she tries to pull her tail from the monster. The golem, in turn, began to pound her body with its fist, Mun could here her body being ground into nothing. She screamed in pain. Mun Runs towards the golem sharping its arm into a blade to pierce the Golems stone arm, a soft thud sound. It protected itself with magic. Worse yet, it ignored him and continued its assault on Lucas body. ¡°PLEASE SAVE ME!!¡± she began to spit out blood as she begged, and yet she didn¡¯t fight make, she didn¡¯t know how, she only ever ran away and now faced with battle, fear paralyzed her. So she screamed and begged to be saved. Mun with all his might tried to abide by her wishes pounding the rock again and again but to no avail, it was too strong, its magic barrier was too strong. Mun wanted to scream in anger, he was weak, he was too weak to save anyone. What made him think that he could save Aura or Yeo. Mun cursed his weakness as Lucas screams grew softer with each fist. Then finally after seven hits with his arm blade, he heard a crack, the sound of the golems stone body breaking. His barrier was gone. In that moment the golem stopped its attack on Luca and twisted its body to attack Mun, but Mun had already made some distance as soon as he saw the move coming. ¡°ATTACK ME!!¡± The Golem, doing as it was told, run towards Mun. Mun quickly reforming his body into a large spike against the wall, He will use the Golems strength against it. It wouldn''t work on any other monster than the dumb golem, incapable of thought, only ever doing what it was programmed to do, destroy anything in its perimeter. It didn''t even see it coming, its own body shattered against the metal spike that attached itself to the wall. Its body began to shatter into thousands of pieces, it''s core falling to the stone ground. Mun breathes a sigh of relief as he sees that he has managed to defeat the golem. It was strong indeed. Then turned his head, he saw Luca, she lied on the other side of the room, limp and motionless. As mun runs towards her he begins to hear the sound of stones moving. It was the door to the next floor. Mun looks back to Luca, to find that a large hole had appeared on the ground next to her, her body slowly began falling into the deep darkness. ¡°Where did that!!¡± it was a trap for when someone beats the boss room, for an unfortunate person to fall even after successfully winning their battle, A cruel dungeon, Mun thinks to himself. He runs to Luca, grabbing hold of her tail, most of her body had already fallen inside. She was heavy too heavy for Mun to lift up. He pulls, trying to save Luca from the dark pit. ¡°Wake up Luca!!" He screamed, but he already feared the worst, she was most likely already dead. Her body was crushed to a pulp, even now he could smell the blood that covered her. Greshh, the sound of stone began to resonate in the room. Mun¡¯s heart stops as he turns to see the golem begin to reform itself back into one piece, with its recovery, its mana drops to a depleted state. He could already hear the door closing behind him, even the large hole that Luca was in began to close. She is probably dead, right? Mun tells himself as he begins to loosen his grip on Luca. She falls into the hole as Mun looks at his hands covered in her blood. "I can''t," Mun makes his decision and slips through the shrinking hole losing more of his body in the process. He changes in his body in that of a spider, embedding his legs into the side of the walls. I have to catch up to her, he tells himself as he skitters down the side of the wall, his dark vision allowing him to see in the darkness he chased the falling tail. In his spider form, he tries to extend a tendril to her but to no avail. ¡°Damn!!¡± He ran faster and faster, faster than he thought possible, grabbing hold of her body as it fell alongside him. As soon as he has her in his tendril he begins to wrap as much of her body as he can in his body, he extends his body as much as he can, acting as a shield for her. In the same moment, an immense pain begins to overwhelm him. It didn¡¯t make sense, Mimics don¡¯t feel pain. ¡°AHH!!¡± so why did it feel like he was losing his kidneys, the pain was unbearable but he didn¡¯t stop wrapping her body, he fought the desire to lose consciousness and began to slow their decent by clawing the walls with the little metal that he had left. How far did the hole go he wondered? As he slowly began to lose consciousness. The pain began to consume him but he didn¡¯t let himself fall unconscious in fear that his body would shift, causing him to drop Luca. He wrapped her tightly the next 10 minutes were one of longest moments he had ever felt. Through the entire descent, not once did he loosen his grip on her, he promised her he wouldn¡¯t do it again, he wouldn¡¯t let her fall. Not the kind smiling woman. The one who had been all alone. The two had finally reached the end, the last 10 feet were a free fall, Mun hit the ground with loud metallic sound, holding Lucas head up, making sure to hold her head to prevent it from hitting the ground. ¡°I¡¯ll make an exception for you.¡± He thought as he his heart beat with as fast it could to keep Mun conscious. ¡°I¡¯ll make an exception¡± ¡°I¡¯ll promise to protect you.¡± Chapter 22: Metal Feast Chapter 22: Metal Feast Mun awakes to the sound of trickling water. His eyes groggily from sleep, focuses on Lucas naked body. Mun quickly notices that he is still wrapped around her body. The sight quickly brings Mun to his senses, with a panicked movement, he shifts his body off her and lays her on the ground next to him. "you''re awake." Mun nearly jumps as he hears the snakes gentle voice. "yeah." Mun awkwardly responds as Luca rubs her eyes awake. "I couldn''t move because of ..." "Please don''t say anymore!!" he yells as he runs to shut her mouth with his hand. A sense of shame creeps into his subconscious. Mun shakes his head, as he shifts his thought to something more pleasant, but instead of remembering something pleasant, he remembers the words he whispered to Luca the previous night. I''m glad that I can''t turn red in this body; he thinks as his body begins to shape into a skeletal figure, his hand still on Luca as he does so. Mun releases his grip off Luca''s mouth before asking, " Do you know how long we''ve been out?" "Too long" she responds pointing to the glowing red hallways. As far as Mun can see, every single hallway is lit a terrible red hue, Luca''s body shakes as Mun''s hand leaves her out of its embrace. Somehow being near him makes her less afraid, she slithers closer, with this thought in mind, to Mun. As she suspects, every inch closer calms her rapidly beating heart. Now, only inches away, she extends her hand to his skeletal figure, only a bit further she tells herself. Before she can reach him a nasty thought begins to form inside her head, What if he gets angry at me again? what will I do then? She pushes her hand down at the last moment, her body begins to shake again. "Does this place look familiar?" she shakes her head, she knows every inch of the fourth floor, but this wasn''t it, it was a floor she has never seen before. "we should find a safe room," Mun suggests. "no." Her voice is soft, almost shy, as she speaks, "safe rooms don''t work while the stones are red." Mun turns to around, He nearly jumps as he sees Luca no more than 6 inches away from, too close, he thinks as his legs instinctively begin to move backward. "Please take a few steps back," Mun asks as he avoids her eyes, I might change my mind if I look at her eyes, he thinks, Wait? why would that change my mind, why does it matter? Mun knows the answers to his questions, he can feel it every time he looks at her. He remembers what he felt for her. The reason she is still alive is because of him. He knows the answer, holds it in his hands and throws it away, denying the truth. I can''t trust her easily, he thinks as he adds an extra lock to his heart. Luca takes a few steps back, Mun can see her jitters, her shaking with every step she takes away from him. He looks at her and thinks, This much should be fine. Mun takes a few steps forward towards her, Luca stops not understanding what to do. "Its fine¡" he tells her as he hides the rest of his words, I know you''re scared, you can come close for now, "this much is fine." I'' will protect you, the words swirl in his mind, I won''t go back on my promise, at least until I help her out of this place. He looks at Luca, her eyes glimmer as the red light hits her. Her smile radiates a warmth that Mun can describe, perhaps because no one other than children have ever looked at him that way. Luca smiles as she closes the distance with Mun, she wants to hug him then and there but holds herself back, thinking, He''ll get angry if I do that. ¡¡¡¡¡¡.. "How did you save me?" Luca asks Mun as they walk from corridor to corridor, her trembling stopped ever since she was allowed to be near him. Surely there is something about her voice, he thinks to himself, as Luca''s gentle voice enters his mind. "I don''t know." He knows but refuses to admit it to her or to himself. The Transfer skill activated during their fall. To activate he needs to feel a strong sense of empathy for the person its healing. He doesn''t want to admit that he cares for a woman, even if it was for a second. He doesn''t want to trust a woman, they lie and like to to pull tricks, is what he tells himself despite knowing that it''s not true. He knows his distrust is irrational, but he can''t escape his own mind, his own fears of what happened to him. "But¡" he thinks to himself, "an exception?" "No, they are all the same" "Was Hope the same too. " "She was an exception." "Then why can''t Luca be an exception?" He bickers to himself, trying to determine whether he should trust the lamia or not. "What''s that?" Luca asks, interrupting Muns thoughts, pointing above Mun''s head. Can she see my status too? Mun wonders as she stared at something with a look of confusion. "What?" Mun asks wondering what the response can possibly be. "that black stuff, its floating all over you" Luca tries to grab hold of the strange blackness, The darkness, like flowing water, escapes her grasp. The darkness whispers something to her before vanishing completely.Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere. Luca tilts her head to one side. She hadn''t seen darkness like that for a very long time, she had almost forgotten how real darkness looked like, but that was certainly true darkness. "It''s gone." She tells Mun, or did it hide somewhere? Luca Looks around, searching for the darkness but it''s useless, she can''t find it anywhere. "Are you okay?" he asks, concerned for her sanity. Has she finally cracked? He asks himself. "Um, yeah." The strange phenomenon made another phenomenon far more clear. "Isn''t it strangely quiet?" She tells Mun. Mun understands what she means, they haven''t seen a single monster since they woke up, even stranger is that they weren''t attacked while unconscious. Where are the monsters? Luca told him that the Monsters go berserk this time of year, and yet not a single peep can be heard. No monsters, just the trickling water. "The water." He says aloud, his mind grabbing hold of another peculiarity. "Do you hear the water?" Luca nods. "it hasn''t stopped," Mun says. The water''s trickling sound hasn''t gotten any further than when they woke up, but they''ve been walking for a while now, so why did the water sound so close? 5 secs remaining 4 3 2 1¡ Mun activates his status in hope that he''ll find something strange with his surroundings, only to see information on the dungeon rock formations.
Type: Dungeon rock Rarity: Common
Description: Dungeon rock, also known as Hell stone, is a type of rock of unknown origin with magical properties that cannot be tested or seen, only slightly felt.
I didn''t know the rocks were unique types of stones. For now, let''s follow the sound of the water. The two follow the sound of water for only a few minutes before finding a large deposit of metal. Not just any metal but the metal Mun has been searching for. There was so much of it that Mun felt like jumping in glee. I can sell this and buy Yeo, he thinks to himself. He touches the metal in his hand and slowly begins to consume it. Luca stands nearby, looking in curiosity as the metal slowly sinks into Mun, some of it becomes a part of him but another part disappears into nowhere. Luca moves closer and closer, her curiosity wanting to know where it was going. "What are you doing?" Mun asks as he gently pulls Luca of his hand, now an obsidian black. Luca grabs hold of his hand and pulls it closer to her face. She touches the metal palm, wow, she wanted to say, as she put her palm against his, astounded by how much it looked like a real hand. "it looks like a real hand." She softly says as she looks up to see Mun looking back at her, his eyes are warm on her. she backs away, her face turning slightly red. She looks at him again, his features are completely different. His eyes glowed a bright green, enchanting Luca with every second she felt there gaze upon her, his nose and cheeks have a warm feeling that she can''t describe in words, she only knows that she likes gazing upon them. "how?" She reached for his cheek but Mun stops her hand with his, softly gripping her wrist. He tries to hold back, but he still doesn''t feel comfortable with being touched, it takes all his might to not yank her hand away from his. "I know a lot of the human body," Mun responded as he moves her hand down and away from himself. "let''s go." Luca stays silent and closely follows him, staring at his back every time she felt scared of a noise or groan echo near them. It''s odd, she ponders as she looks at her hand. His touch felt warm, but how is that possible? ¡¡¡¡¡. Shortly after he collected the metal, monsters began to appear. "Watch out!!" Luca yells as she grabs Mun by the waist with her tail, pulling him closer to her, just in time to avoid the troll''s attack. Its eyes glowed red, it was enraged. Mun had already torn its arm off but it continued to fight as if nothing had happened. The other two trolls are already closing in, Mun creates a tendril on his back, then another and another. He looks more monstrous then trolls at this point but Luca, instead of fear, feels a sense of pride. The scariest monster is at my side, she thinks to herself, as Mun slices more of the troll''s body parts. The metal has made him stronger, stronger than either of them expected. The metal can cut through stone like an ax through wood, it isn''t entirely easy but it''s possible. Mun, being the clever person he is, isn''t hammering sharp blades across their body, he is first tearing holes in their arms eventually wearing it down until he can chop their body in parts with a single slash. He doesn''t give them any mercy. The unfortunate trolls or goblins that came close to Luca get the worst of it. Whenever one gets close to her, he grabs hold of them with his tendrils and sharpens to a fine edge before shredding them to pieces by sliding his sharpened tendrils across their body, almost mechanically, them into six even pieces. Even Luca jumps at the sight of them, whenever it happens, but instead of moving away from Mun, she slithers closer. at some point, without either of them realizing it, she had grabbed hold of his cloak, she holds it tightly as if it''s her connection to Mun; as if as long as she''s holding it, Mun will not abandon her. The battle feel unending, Mun has already fought tens of monsters but even after all that, a monster is always around the next corner. Luca closes her eyes, as she holds on to Muns cloak She tries to filter out all the noise, as she monitors Mun''s heartbeat. "There," Mun yells as he grabs Lucas hand and pulls her with him. "It''s okay!!" Luca yells, slightly embarrassed at her own uselessness. "I can do it myself." She tells Mun as she Begins to run alongside him, firmly grasping his hand. The two run up the stairs as fast as they can, hearing the groans and wrathful cries of the monsters that followed them. They were all level 30 monsters, but somehow Mun had become strong enough to decimate them, but I don''t want to fight them every single minute of every day, he tells himself as he continues to run up the stairs as fast he could, it doesn''t take long for the two to reach the boss room. Not a single monster guards the entrance when they get there. so he runs out of the boss room, making sure that Luca is still with him. He looks to her hand, his grip tightens, his hand making sure to not let her go Why did I? he tries to loosen his grip but it doesn''t budge. Fine!! he tells himself Putting it on the back of his mind, as he continues to run. "Where to!!???" He yells, the monsters close behind, not taking a single break. Now, other monsters from the current floor began to chase after them. Mun looks to his side. There is a troll running at him at full speed, alongside it, five goblins. Mun prepare a bladed tendril, he then hears a click and in the next moment a burst of fiery red. Mun stretches a part of his body to protect Luca from the oncoming flames. Luca then pulls Mun to the left, corridor by corridor she pulls him in the right direction, she knows the place by heart, the traps that scared her, she''d never forgot where they were. She smiles, as the tears fall down her cheeks. Her pain had not been in vain, she thought. Yes, she tells herself, I suffered for this moment so that I could meet Mun, so that I could help him, so that I could protect him from this place. She is being useful to him for the first time since she had met Mun. Under Luca''s guidance, it doesn''t take long to find the third-floor stairway. The two quickly run up the stairs into the 3rd-floor boss room. "uhg hugh!!" Luca forgot how long it''s been since she''s run for so long. As she gasps for air, The stone behind her begin to close shut, the trolls, spiders, goblins, reapers and other monsters try to get in, some are crushed in the attempt but soon enough of the noise died down, and now only a single golem remains at the center of the Room. "I''ll take care of this quick." Luca tries to keep Mun''s hand in her grasp, as it leaves hers. He''s going to be far away again, but it''s, "Okay."
