"Two sides of the same coin.
¨¡suras (????): Wild, free and unrelenting until death. They being the very definition of freedom and their conviction to safeguard it at whatever cost radiates out to all those who fight them. Driven by desperation and a journey filled with blood. A destiny of an asura is beyond the scope of samsara. So what use do they have of bonds? Or of fear?
D¨¥vas (???): Weapons of the gods forged through their own blood and will. They represent Order in a world where chaos lurks in every corner. They are the lamp in a road of darkness. They go wherever they are needed, and they make sure their job is done; swift and decisive. Their prowess has no equal. Selected from the desperate, the suffered, the humbled or the devoted. Bound to loyalty by unbreakable oaths. Pray that you do not meet them, and when they arrive. Pray that you have done no wrong.
This is an age of dragons and phoenixes. The Great War might be over, but trouble still lurks on the horizon.
From East to West, this is an age of questions, debates, changing convictions, ideologies, and turmoil. Glory waits for those who can seize the opportunity.
In the midst of all this, what will you do? Do you have what it takes to stand the winds of this world? "
Chapter 1 - Wisdom cant be eaten. (Arc 1 - Growing Up.)
Raindrops fell slowly from the sky, bringing with it the promises of a new monsoon, forming a misty layer on top of The City of Ages.
Another season was here. The winds were changing. Who knew what promises or uncertainties it may bring?
There were not many pedestrians moving down the road, causing the streets to look desolate, yet serene and calm in this misty weather.
However, quite a few kilometers forward, the Antarang Palace located within the city portrayed a completely different atmosphere. In one of the rooms in the palace, few pieces of Agni Stones were placed within the corners and empty places of the room, emitting light and heat and rejecting all the frost and cold on the cusp of entering, creating a space of soothing warm within the room.
Seated in the room, was a pretty youngster attending the teachings of his assigned teacher.
His features were delicate, to say the least; perfectly arched eyebrows framed a pair of hazel orbs with a mystical green tint. Fair-skinned, soft face with long raven brown hair loosely reaching all the way down. His whole being exuded something mystifying.
Veera, 11-years old. Full name Yadu Veera is the third son of the current head of Yadava Family. A peerless family which was a descendant of the powerful king, Yadu. They were patrons and loyal worshipers of Vishnu, Lord of the World. In the entire sub-continent of Ainu, they enjoyed the status of being in the top of all Divine families or simply, Son of Gods. As such, they were looked upon by the entire known world. There was no one who dared to look eye-to-eye with them, much less go against them.
Such prestige and reputation, after all, go hand to hand with one''s actions and deeds. The Yadava family along with the other Divine Families were Immortal Bloodline Families. For their unrelenting loyalty and devotion to their Overlords. The Gods gave them their blessings, the ability to break the shackles and unearth the secrets of their body from their birth itself, to become something more then what they were actually destined to, to enter the journey of The Great Way.
As long as they remain loyal to their benefactors and do not forget their grace.
As such, from the very moment, a child was born into one of this family. He was destined to go through intense training and obstacles in an environment where he has to become a fox while keeping the image of a tiger or a snake while being a dragon to differentiate between good and bad. So as to not deviate from their path.
Although only eleven years of age, Veera was far more down to earth than his peers. He was not specifically blessed with any innate abilities since birth unlike his siblings nor did he had any interests or hobby in anything. But what he did lack was compensated with his monstrous talent in cultivation, his versatility to adept at anything and his amiable nature.
This points along with his looks earned him the title of "The Star-Born".
"The Great Kal War or the Wars of Reformations that lasted for 700 years symbolized the beginning of a new era. This war which was fought by every being present in and out of this world, was between the immortal forces loyal to the Gods, calling themselves by many names "The Chosen One", "The Holy","Celestials" etc etc. But for the purposes of this class, we will call them "The Allied Ones", including us. On the other side, with whom we fought with were the powerful forces of evil beings which also had many names. But as per the course, we now know them as "The Forgotten Ones". Simple as that, anyway..."
Although the teacher spoke seriously, the youth below him showed no signs of attention and was actually about to doze off.
Seeing this, the teacher without a word, rolled the book in his hand and used it fiercely to hit the table.
The noise was barely able to keep Veera alert, causing him to open his sleepy eyes abnormally wide like a ball to look at him.
His teacher felt both slightly angered and slightly helpless as he said, "What? Did you learn everything properly?"
This old man who looked like a monk was known as ¡°Kautilya¡±. Although his appearance was very sloppy, he was not someone to be underestimated. His instructions were very clear and well-organized.
Veera nodded his head, now completely dozing off without a word.
Children by nature are playful and have no interest in the dry lessons; history was also not really that interesting. And Veera seemed no different.
The teacher pointed him to stand up, "tell me few points about this war and you may go."
Veera warily stood up, almost falling down, "Teacher, what else to tell? It signaled a symbol of the new renaissance. Immortals, all over the world that have been never known before united and fought for the first time together against a common enemy; even though occasional betrayals and grievances still remained. Humans are already selfish by nature; nothing new about that. The immortals from human factions worth noting were the Daoist Immortals, Sky Immortals, Celestial Immortals from the Yunan Plain of North and East. The Azraelic and Ismael¡¯s, The Guardians called "Angels" and many other from the West and Middle West. And finally, us, Hindus from the Holy Union of the South......and many others in between which I don¡¯t care about now."
"And what were others forces that you noted aside from humans?¡± Kautilya continued.
"Those damn elves, lizards which call themselves dragons, orcs, fairies, beast men."
"Last but not least, the present times?¡± Kautilya further questioned.
"This is the 12th millennia after the great war. It still influences us to this day. This is an age of Enlightenment, the last phase of one great cycle. And a new age will begin again. "This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon.
Kautilya lightly smirked and continued his lesson. "Moral?"
Veera rolled his eyes and fell down again. "Humans and Immortals alike never seem to change."
¡°Well said!¡± Kautilya sighed and then clapped, ¡°looks like you have indeed worked hard, Veera.¡±
As Kautilya spoke, he patted Veeras head. ¡°Keep it up. I know you are tired but life is itself a road inspired by love and guided by knowledge. ¡°
Veera blinked at his teacher and looked at him with squinted eyes, ¡°Teacher, it¡¯s not that easy when you are made to study 18 different subjects every day along with other training, activities, chores etc. without any love. Gods be damned, I am just an 11-year old dude. What is the point of studying Vedic advanced mathematics and rational theory in order for one to become immortal? Isn¡¯t that quite superfluous and going overboard? ¡°
Kautilya just slightly smiled and said, ¡°A mere trickle of drops of water, even though it is so tiny can fill the pitcher. Just the same way, we cultivators aside from our cultivation and other studies must keep on expanding our knowledge, dharma, money, and power. Each one of this thing is important. One is not complete without the other.¡±
Veera reluctantly accepted his master¡¯s word though he still had his doubts. In a world that is ruled by Martial power. How can one focus on other things when the strong decide the rules and the weak strive to survive another day?
¡°Master, isn¡¯t pursuing power to become the strongest is the ultimate aim of pursuing immortality? To become the strongest means to safeguards one¡¯s own life and his closed ones, while looking down on others. Isn¡¯t that what we have been taught seen birth?¡± Veera expressed his doubts as he too did not understand this paradox. Pursuing immortality in general, meant to extend one¡¯s own life to live more. But to aspire to be the strongest in the path of immortality while killing others of your own kind, and in the end, getting killed too; isn¡¯t this the greatest irony?
¡°See? Your studies are already working here. Well about that, as a matter of fact. They are wrong. To become immortal, you need to kill others said no one. Everyone has different thoughts and approach to this paradox. My thoughts may differ from you and there is nothing wrong with that. To become immortal, one needs to have a conviction for that. Often that conviction is born through the circumstance that forces them to take this path. Well, for them defending themselves is the only way to live another day. And let¡¯s not forget that the resources needed for immortality are often very scarce. And scarcity always leads to chaos. Chaos leads to violence. And there we go. Furthermore, let¡¯s not forget we are humans and will still be humans in the future. A fragment of that will still remain to us throughout our lives. Embracing being human means to accept our history filled with blood. We oppose and harm others to save our interests and in turn, they oppose us to safeguard their own. It is this desire for gaining more, more and something more that drives us forward.¡±
When Veera heard this, his mouth was agape. He wanted to argue but couldn¡¯t find the words to do so.
After all, this was something everyone can understand. Kautilya was correct in that aspect.
Veera was enlightened and respectfully replied, ¡°Teacher, I was na?ve. I wonder when I will be as wise as you. ¡°
Kautilya loudly laughed as if he had heard a good joke, ¡°You spoiled brat have been in this world just for more than a mere decade and you have already learned how to talk smoothly. Brat, I see a bright future ahead of you.¡±
Veera was dazed for a while before he said, ¡°Teacher, I am serious. To be honest, I don¡¯t know what to do in my life. I am still small, but I can feel I have something only a few can have. Mama has asked me before what will I become, I couldn¡¯t answer her back then. Everything is already being done by my brothers. For me power is just a tool, I want to be wise. Only through being wise, I can understand myself and the world around me. This is what I have read and heard.¡±
¡°You are weird, kid. You want to be wise just because you have read a book or heard other people telling you to do so. Well, I won¡¯t stop you though. For better or worse, it¡¯s at least a good start for a kid like you. But I do sense a lack of faith and conviction in you. God knows if it is just one of those childish dreams of yours. But do tell me, why you don¡¯t aspire to be the strongest like many others of your age strive to do so? It¡¯s much more interesting and blood pumping after all.¡±
Kautilya drank water in a cup as he spoke frankly.
To this Veera just smiled and replied, ¡°Well, master. One does not seek something which he already has in his life.¡±
Kautilyas jaw dropped, and he coughed water. After all one had to say Veeras answer was pretty formidable in this day and age where everyone is megalomaniacs.
A long time later, when he finally regained his composure, he asked back, ¡°So how are you going to do this?¡±
Veera shook his head. ¡°No one knows.¡±
Kautilya was just about to feel disappointed; after all, he is still a kid. How many answers can a kid know?
But Veera just smiled, ¡°It¡¯s just fine if I don¡¯t know though. It just means no one has ever tried to search for it before.¡±
Time passed by quickly.
Eventually, the time for classes ended.
Veera walked out of his tutorial room with a loud cheer.
"Fuck! those old farts will definitely make me go insane of hard work one of these days. What do they think of me as? See, how I will complain to mother about them."
As he walked out a servant girl ran forward and draped a golden lion cloak over him. "Ah, Third Young Master is out of his classes. The weather is bad outside; Don''t catch a cold."
"Naina, I am already at the peak of the Nascent stage. This kind of weather barely makes me cold anymore and I love monsoons anyway."
"Young master, this is not about what you love or hate. If other people in the family were to know that I kept young master cold in this bad weather. I fear they will directly tell your two mothers without any hesitation. And I believe that it won''t end well for me. Being the victim of your mother''s ire is the last thing I want to do today."
Veera smiled when he heard this, "Haha, I don''t think my mother would take such drastic measures. I know her well, but I cant say the same for royal mother though......"
Indeed, Veera is the son of two mothers. Precisely speaking, his father married two times. Breaking the Law of Two was something very rare in Ainu, the land of Hindus. But at least it was not something which was totally unheard of. Those who have the capability and capital to lead a happy family can naturally marry more partners as much as they can, as long as both of them mutually agree about it of course. Thus, polygamy and polyandry was not a foreign thing in Ainu, this was even more so in this city which was the base of top six divine families. Veeras father was one of the said persons.
Naina cried aggrievedly while following him."See, that''s what I was talking about."
"What were you talking about?"
Suddenly, a gentle yet soothing sound resounded in the ears of Veera. Surprised, Naina and Veera both looked at each other. Then they gaze to where the sound came from.
Ahead of them were two women clad in red and blue.
Both of their appearances were graceful and elegant. Their disposition graceful, elegant and otherworldly. If the lady in red possessed the aura that could influence anyone with her demeanor, then the woman in blue can be best described as having a genteel personally that won''t let anyone go near her. They did not seem to be from this world as if the influence of time had no effect on them. Anyone who saw them will say, they are a peerless beauty despite their age.
"Speak of the devils and they shall appear before you. This phrase is indeed true." Naina muttered.
Chapter 2 - The Might of The Two Brothers.
Whether or not that phrase was indeed true or false was not something Veera could care about right now.
¡°Mom, what the heck are you doing here in this bad weather!?¡± Veera opened his eyes wide and blurted out loudly towards the blue woman.
As the only son of his own mother, Veera doted upon her since he was very small. This bond only grew stronger with time, with his father and two brothers remaining away from home most of the time these days. As for his second mother; his father¡¯s first wife. Initially, it was quite awkward, to say the least. It can¡¯t be entirely blamed on Veera though; anybody will find it difficult to adjust if one were to exchange one¡¯s position with Veeras. The word ¡°mother¡± holds a precious place in everyone¡¯s mind after all, how can one use it liberally as they wish? But time heals everything. Especially if the person concerned is a woman who treats you kindly as her own son.
Allia, the lady in red and the aforementioned woman looked amused as she puffed her chest and said, ¡°See son? I told the same thing to this bitch. I knew the weather was getting worse and wanted her to remain inside the palace, as I come to look for you alone. But NO! Who is she to listen to me? Miss Overlord was worried about you and was going to have a heart attack if I did not bring her along. So in the end, I was forced to do her bidding even though I knew you would get angry. *sigh this noble one should just become a prophet.¡±
Veera was speechless. Just as he was processing her answer, suddenly he squinted his eyes and said chillingly, ¡°Hehe, so it was royal mother¡¯s idea all along to come in this rainy weather. I should have known better. May I asked the esteemed royal mother what brought you here then? Or¡.could it be you just wanted to enjoy the scenery?¡±
Alia looked at him coquettishly before swiftly speaking with her mouth covered by one of her hand, ¡°Ara, looks like our noble son got furious because I was reckless. Hai, I am blessed to have such a caring son. ¡°
Mayuri, his mother spoke gently as she shook her head, ¡°No son. We had nothing to do and indeed were worried about you. That was partly one of the reasons why we came here. But more importantly, we bring news. Seems like your father and brothers are arriving today.¡±
¡°Father is arriving today?¡± Veera was surprised with the unexpected reply that came out of nowhere. Regarding his father, He had a very complicated place for him in his heart. For Veera, his father was a man like no other. Since he was very small, his father took great care of him in his upbringing and loved him unconditionally even though Veera did not have much to show in his talents unlike his brothers (until much later on). If Veera wanted something, then his father will make sure he gets it the very next day. But even after all this love and care, Veera began to feel that his father was hiding some secret from him and this was all a veil. It just that he can¡¯t figure out what was wrong? Nor did he found anything suspicious in his conduct. Part of the reason why he wanted to become wise also stemmed from his father. That¡¯s why instead of love, Veera had a deep reverence and respect for his father.
Everyone sank into silence for a while; each having their own thoughts on this matter.
Alia was the first one to break the silence. She looked wistful as she spoke,¡± You both mother and sons are really lucky. At least, you have each other to talk to when you want whether in times of need or joy. As for me, even though I had two sons. I could talk with none of them. *sigh* It becomes so hard for me sometimes. ¡°
Mayuri couldn¡¯t take it anymore. ¡°It¡¯s strange coming from someone who just went on a spree last night. If anything rather than making yourself look lonely, you are making me feel uncomfortable inside. Enough nonsense, you already have us. That¡¯s what it matters.¡±
¡°Indeed. Royal Mother, this noble son will always be with you.¡± Veera joined in to cheer her up.
¡°Ha-ha, seems like this woman is still loved by a few people. Enough nonsense indeed, let¡¯s head back. We need to do some preparations.¡± Alia smiled as she spoke. No one knew what she was thinking.
At night, Veera was in his chambers studying quietly.
The atmosphere was peaceful and still until a maid came over with a message.
¡°Third Young master Veera, your father had arrived just two and a half hours ago and now wants to meet you. You are requested to meet him in his library.¡± She kneeled as she spoke.
¡°Father wants to meet me now?hmm. Ok, I have heard. You may go now.¡±
The maid nodded silently and went back on her duties.
Veera no longer had any time or the mood to study. He immediately closed his books and went towards the Lords Library.
¡°That¡¯s weird. Father could have directly met me, why send a message for that?¡±
¡°Don¡¯t tell me after coming back he directly went to his bed with my moms to do his thing. And now he wants to fuck me now.¡±
As these gibberish thoughts were going on in his mind. He stumbled upon someone.
¡°Oi! Can¡¯t you damn walk properly? You fu-AH!¡± He was about to curse, but it got stuck in his throat.
The reason being-
¡°Well, well look if it¡¯s not our very own baby brother?¡±
¡°He seems to have grown, isn¡¯t it?¡±
Both of the two voices contained hints of love and longing as if they hadn¡¯t seen their beloved puppy for quite a long time.
They were, of course, Veeras half-brothers ¨C Karna (Karn shortly) Yadu and Rai Yadu.
Veeras eldest brother Karna was the embodiment of everything he could never hope to be. It was said that when Karna was born, the sun never set for two days straight. At that time, Yadu family was at war with one of the factions. The Hindus were already on the verge of extinction after the Great War. Fearing that the Yadu family will again grow powerful if Karna comes into this world, they dispatched assassins to kill Alia before she even gives birth. It was a well-known fact that Hindu female immortals lose all of their powers during the phase of giving birth of a baby, due to the destabilization, huge energy consumption and unbalanced constitution building up in their body for months. At this stage, they are even more helpless than a mere mortal. And sadly, Alia was no different.Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.
They captured her, tore her clothes, burnt all her hairs, tortured her and just when they were about to dishonor her. The sound of a baby crying resounded throughout the firmament.
Sunlight flashed from the sky like never seen before.
The skies shook, the animals howled, the land cracked. The elves whispered; the celestial lion gazed.
It only meant one thing. One of the gods had gone mad.
Three burning stallions descended from the sky, each one brighter than the last covering the sky like a star in a full moon. They came burning like a phoenix but possessed the ferocity of a dragon in rage. Within ten breadths, they entered the atmosphere and in seven blinks of eyes touched the land.
BOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!
The land burned, the victims cried as they were being burned alive. They felt ten times the pain Alia felt. Someone saw their son being burnt, others found their daughter burnt.
Regrets!!!Great Regrets was all they felt.
But alas!! They were too late.
After three hours only silence reigned, no one was crying anymore.
The land laid barren, its flourishing trees and wildlife gone.
The mother laid bare with a white cloth covering her and a baby with the symbol of the setting sun on his forehead on her side.
This was how Karna was born and his legend begun.
As for Veeras second brother, he was even more overbearing. At the age of twelve, he completed his education of 37 subjects consisting of theology, advanced mathematics, rational science, royal ethics, astronomy, Advanced Arcane studies and many others. Through this at the mere age of sixteen, he killed a man. He was not a simple man though; he came from a world which he called earth. He boasted immense knowledge. Rai did not like his arrogance, he went to talk to him. That man did not seem to like him as well. They held a tournament. After a very bitter fight, Rai won. He threw his beheaded head into the river the very next day.
One could imagine the pressure Veera felt living under the shadow of his two monsters of brothers.
But now looking at them, trying their best to coax Veera, one will just think of them as clowns straight out of a circus.
¡°Baby brother, look at me. I bought sweets for you from Fenlai. Say ah!?¡± ¨C Karna
¡°Nope, Baby brother. Forget this damn fucker! He even forgot his own money purse. A responsible brother should always carry his purse to bring sweets and gifts for baby brother, isn¡¯t it?¡± ¨C Rai
Veera sighed. One will wonder if he was really lucky or unlucky to born in this family?
"Elder Brother Karn, Elder Brother Rai when did you all arrived? Why wasn''t I informed of your arrival?" Veera interrogated sadly while ignoring the fiasco that his brothers were putting on.
"Oh, we arrived just one hour ago. Father arrived earlier than us because Rai wanted to buy Kamasutra*cough *cough I meant to do some stuff, yeah. That''s it." Karna replied while making an odd face.
"Words wield power, brother Karn. You should wield it wisely. Don''t make me spill the beans of your doings in Fenlai to baby brother." Rai bellowed loudly.
"Where are you going now? You just arrived right? Why don''t you stay for a while?I get so lonely here. Our mothers get so lonely here?"
Veera cried as he spoke.
"That''s what we wanted to do initially. But who would have thought? Another S-ranked mission will be issued to us before we even reached the main halls of the palace. Thus, We are now going to the countryside to do....some stuff, yeah. You know the same old, killing baddies and all? Don''t worry though we are just going for a short while, father will be staying here this time and we have already talked to mother. We have heard you took great care of her greatly. Well done, BOI!! After all, It should not be that surprising. You are my brother, Karna''s brother alone." Karna looked proud as a peacock as he spoke.
"Right, right.WAIT!! No shit. He is MY brother. Not fucking yours? How many times do I have to tell you? Has your brain been kicked by a cow now?" Rai was nodding like a sage when he bellowed again.
"But I wanted to go with you.....I wonder when I will grow big?" Veera was still sad.
This time though, his brothers sensed the seriousness of the issue.
"Hey, look at me. You know there is nothing fun about growing up. I used to have the same line of thought as you when I was small. When will I grow up? When will I help my father? When will I help my mother? Well, I will tell you the truth its all a fucking trap. It''s true when you are small, you don''t have much freedom. But do you know what is the best thing about being small? You don''t have any responsibilities as well. You can use what little freedom you have to unlimited use, that''s the beauty of being small. When you grow up, you will get freedom. But what is the use? You will get responsibilities as big as the world. Forget using freedom, you will even feel uncomfortable breathing sometimes. It is as if the entire weight of the world has fallen upon you. See, that long sword on my back? Yeah. That one at most weighs 2Kgs (4.5lbs) in reality but when I use it to kill someone its as if I am holding a large boulder. It feels good, won''t lie about that. But this feeling is not something one should yearn for. That''s why baby brother, I don''t want you to grow at all. And you seem kind of cute this way after all. Yeah, like this. Much better now."
Karna patted his head with affection.
This time Rai kneeled before him and said, " Don''t ever be sad alright. You should know, we brothers are always there for you before anything else. I still remember the day when you first said, "Brother, Hug, Hug!!". I felt so proud hearing that. Karna felt that too. Actually, he felt that twice. So it will not matter to him much. But it mattered to me. It really did. That''s why as long as I, Rai Yadava, Son of God will breathe in this world. Nobody, by that I mean nobody. From this world or from outside, mortal or immortal, god or demon, reincarnated or not it doesn''t matter. I won''t let him or her touch my family, let alone you brother. That''s my oath to you. Anyone who manages to harm you will directly mean I have already died. So, enjoy as much you can. Let your brothers do the hard task."
At that time, Veera probably did not know the value of the words that his two brothers said to him. But he at least knew it was something important.
"Ok, enough drama. We are getting late for the mission. Rai, grip up. Veera, I have heard father is calling you. Go take these sweets along with you. Give great mother (Veeras mother) my regards. We will meet her later on. And yeah, stay safe and happy." Karna hurried up and went on his way with a slight tear in his eyes.
"Yeah, I am such a pussy. Anyways, delaying fathers call is unwise. I will go now."
As his brothers were going out. Veera looked at their backs. It seemed so large. He wondered how much responsibilities and hardships did they took on their shoulders to become this strong?
With this thought, he slowly entered the Lords library. The Lords library was a huge room where books can be seen put up on the shelves as far the eyes could see. In one corner there was a desk clock that was higher than Veera. It was a high-quality object. On the other corner, there were tools for various observations.
At this moment, in the faraway corner of the room. A long white-haired old man was looking at the stars from a large window pane. He seemed to be thinking of something. His black eyes were so profound that one could sink into it just at a glance. He was wearing a long golden robe, with his hands on his back. His tall shadow could be seen looming throughout the room due to the moonlight.
The flames in the fireplace which was located at the center of the room burned, constantly crackling and popping.
Veera kept silent for a long while waiting for his father to start the conversation.
The clock suddenly rang.
After a long while, his father noticed him. "oh son, you have arrived. Good good."
"It is indeed I, father." Veera greeted him.
"We have much to discuss. Let''s start with the formalities first. Tea or coffee?" His father smiled at him.

Chapter 3 - Of Wishes, Dreams and Ambitions.
Veeras father, Yad emanated an ancient, heavenly aura from his entire body. That aura wasn¡¯t the sort that one could attain just by material means. Only after considerable hardships and passing obstacles could one dream to possess this aura. How could an ordinary man compare?
¡°Lemon tea will do.¡±
Veera replied calmly.
Yad nodded and clapped his hands loudly.
A maid came from the doors with few cups on a plate behind Veera. Veera took one of the cups and Yad took another.
¡°Alright with this thing out of the way, we can now discuss more¡important things. Follow me to the world hall.¡± Yad smiled as he turned and began to walk forward.
¡°The world hall? Right now?¡± Even Veera felt slightly curious but he did not really took the matter to heart.
The Antarang Palace was a large grand residence that had many halls and towers. The members of the Yadu family only dwelled in some of these rooms. Others remained empty and unmaintained for years, virtually no one goes there.
Few of these rooms and halls were now used for specific purposes or as storages. The Lords library being one of them and world hall being the other.
Both of these halls were connected to each other. But the world hall remained locked and enclosed. Few people are allowed to go in and those who do, only go once in a month to clean it.
Veera followed his father while sipping his tea towards the blue carpet path that led to the hall.
¡°Clack¡± The door of the world hall was opened.
The various light crystals and candles in the hall began to light up on their own; the entire hall immediately became very bright. Veera could instantly see the many things put up and placed in the hall. The spirit tablets, various artifacts, weapon stashes, statues, wearings, books among many other things. But the most eye-catching was probably the giant globe located at the very center. It was rotating slowly while emanating a blue hue that was quickly spreading across the room.
Yad quietly stood in in front of a table, not saying a word, sipping his tea with elegance.
Veera did the same. Even though he had a belly full of questions by now and was slightly nervous. He did not dare to show it on his face. He believed that whatever the deep shit his father had in his mind, he will vomit it all in due time.
So, why not enjoy the calm before the storm then?
In the entire hall, aside from the sounds of whispering candles and the sound of sipping tea, nothing more was heard. The quiet was terrifying, creating a suffocating feeling in the heart.
After a long while, Yad slowly focused his gaze on Veera. In a calm voice he said, ¡°Veera, you have done well till now. You have made us proud, kept our name and made our heads help up high. For that, you have my thanks.¡±
Veera kept the now-empty teacup on the table. He respectfully said, ¡°Whatever is good in me has been through you father. So, you do need to lower your head for the likes of me.¡±
¡°Haha, good son, but as you should know this is not enough. You are just but a mere drop in a stream waiting to flow. Today, there are many things which must be done. But first tell me, what is cultivation? Give me a simple but solid answer.¡±
¡°The life-long process of improving health, increasing longevity, growing powerful, living happy and finally reaching the ultimate truth is called cultivation. This process has now become like a road that everyone takes regardless of mortal, immortal, demon or lesser gods. Seems to me, the five luxuries or aims of cultivation are very appealing to everybody. Regardless this is achieved through multiple processes simultaneously going throughout the body in and out. This is accomplished by cultivating prana, popular name Qi or Chi through various methods and training in martial and mystical arts while maintaining your karma, if possible. Everyone has different understanding of cultivation, as we do too.¡± Veera answered but he wondered, what is this has got to do with the on-going discussion?
¡°Nice answer. You know? Our family has existed for thousand years. Even scanning the entire Great Union in Ainu, I can¡¯t imagine finding a second family such as ours. But I believe the time has come for you to shake things up a bit.¡± Yad answered nonchalantly.
By now, a thousand question marks were shaping up on Veeras mind.
¡°Looks like my old man has finally kicked the bucket.¡± was his only thought that he could extract out from his mind.
¡°Father, you are being too vague. What do you mean by shaking things up?¡± Veera frowned and asked.
¡°You and your brothers have been trained and educated on almost everything since birth. When other kids of your age were playing games, you all were cultivating and studying. Do you think it was all for nothing, son?¡±
¡°Well, yeah I did thought about that, but everyone does that these days. What is the big deal here?¡±
Veeras face was blank as if his answer was very obvious.
¡°The point is not everyone does that. Either they are too busy studying or are too busy kicking ass. I gambled on my three sons. And look what I got here? A hat-trick, my-my I won¡¯t let this chance go away even if the gods ask me to do so.¡±Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site.
Veera was even more confused.
Yad turned serious, ¡°Listen up, soon, you will not be a kid anymore. You will learn to make your own decisions, will want to live your own life. That¡¯s all right, I have no qualms about that. Even I won¡¯t let you rot in this place. But I want you to do some stuff, things that have never been done before or seen before since the last ages. I want you and your brothers to recover some kinds of stuff back again. It will be hard, I know that, but you got the potential.¡±
Veeras head was buzzing.
. . . . .Fuck!! This discussion completely took a different turn.
You said I can make my own decisions.
But, now you are stomping your own desires on my head too. Isn¡¯t this unfair? Where is the god now? Can¡¯t he see this shit going on here? Firstly, training to death every day and now this?
Either way, the fact did not change that Veera could have done nothing about this situation. So like what a polite filial child will do in this situation. He did the same thing.
He kneeled and with a voice of immense reverence asked his father,
¡°So, what do you want me to do father?¡±
Satisfied with Veera, Yad nodded and smiled, ¡°Well, for a first, 5 years from now I want you to look for the fabled Sanatana star. ¡°
Veera did not replied for a long while.
Gritting his teeth, he asked ¡°Why not esteemed father just ask me to go and kill myself 5 years from now? That will be much easier to do, I dare say.¡±
Find the eternal star? BULLSHIT!!
Ever seen a man catch a star in the broad daylight? No, right?
That¡¯s just what finding the eternal star is. Nobody knows where it is, how it looks? , What¡¯s its origin?
Except for the fact that it exists somewhere bringing balance to everything; Countless people have already tried to find it and returned dead;
Just some vague words and people thought it really existed. Veera really disdained such thoughts and superstitions.
¡°Alright, I will look into it but don¡¯t keep your hopes up. So, what¡¯s the next thing you want me to do?¡±
¡°Hold up, let me bring that thing here first.¡± Yad immediately departed towards a private room kept for artifacts.
Standing there, Veer¡¯s mind was a confused mess. The recent events took a great strain on him.
Veera couldn¡¯t help but sigh and think, ¡°Just today I told my brothers that I wanted to grow up quickly and go with them, and now here I am being given my own commands. If I had known karma could get back to me so quickly, I won¡¯t have spoken a single word at all. Regardless, in these two years, I need to prepare extra hard now. Might as well do something good for the family and be busy, then sitting idle and having no ambition.¡±
After a short period of time, Yad returned with a forty-eight-inch rectangular box as he walked out of the room.
He kept it on the table and looked at Veera.
¡°Check this out and use your talents to tell me what it is.¡±
Veera wondered curiously at the box and opened it.
Opening the box, he was surprised to find a blade, more like a broken blade in shards.
¡°Interesting¡±
He took the largest piece of the blade and examined it for a long while.
¡°It¡¯s a sword¡should have been a spirit sword to be exact. Highly tempered and enchanted, maybe by the elves. But the question is how?¡± Veera wondered.
¡°That I know, give me more details.¡± Yad urged.
¡°Blade length should be 93 centimeters. Double-edged, slightly curve but mostly straight unlike the Katana variations with a pointed tip. Not from the east, that¡¯s for sure. I assume from the west then. But¡¡±
¡°The hilt, it is the unique disc hilt with a tassel attached through an eyelet at the end of the pommel. Interesting, very interesting; Composition is even more astounding, rather than simple steel. It should be made of an alloy if I am not wrong. Quickly, give me a quill, paper, my alchemy book and a tassle card.¡±
Veeras eyes seemed more sparkling with each second. Yad quickly brought the things he needed.
Veera swiftly wrote what he knew about the sword and his assumptions about its compositions.
He observed the blade again, moved it to and fro and used it to cut his own palm. He wiped the blood with the tassle card. Suddenly, the tassle paper began to light up. He wrote his observations and looked at Yad frowning.
¡°Very balanced, I dare say. An alloy of steel, enhanced crystal coat and one other metal which I don¡¯t know; the resulting alloy is light, sleek, smooth yet tougher and harder than tempered steel. The crystal coat gives it a glow as well. Incredible but it¡¯s a mess. The drawn runes and formations look good though. Where did you get it father and what does this have to do with me?¡±
Veera asked.
¡°I want you to take this shit and repair it. I found this on one of my trips, no use in asking how. Each of your brothers has one artifact with them, its time you get one as well.¡±
¡°Alright, this one is more interesting and possible to attain. So what¡¯s next?¡±
¡°Thirdly, and lastly, I want you to keep being strong. Even if we don¡¯t like to admit it, the fact doesn¡¯t change that possessing might means being right. And to attain your goals and to live in this world, you will need to be strong. Plus, I want you to attend the Oriental tournament. So work hard on that, if you have anything to say. You can say it now.¡±
Yad sat on the chair behind the table and looked at Veera.
Veera sighed
¡°You know right? In order to do these tasks, I will need some considerable amount of capital, resources and time. Where will I get that?¡±
Yad calmly replied in a business-like manner
¡°As I said, whatever you need we will provide as long as it is within the boundaries. You will also get your own freedom; I just need you to work on these objectives in between them. But, don¡¯t do things that go against the family¡¯s vital interest. That won¡¯t be good for anyone though, anything else?¡±
¡°What about my brothers?¡±
¡°I have given them their own missions which they will do for the family. I heard you wanted to be wise and this stuff suits you. Thus, you got what you needed. Be happy for that.¡±
¡°Father, I will need to buy some new books and a gear tomorrow. I hope you can help me on that.¡± Veera spoke lightly.
¡°I will see to that, you may go now.¡±
Veera was slightly regretting wanting to be wise now. Maybe, it was something not for him after all. Maybe, being wise after all was all a nonsense. Maybe, just maybe, this was all just a wishful dream of mine.
He lightly stood up, showing no emotions on his face. His thoughts concealed, he picked up the box and left the hall.
Much later after Veera left the hall,
Yad stood up; he bitterly smiled and looked dejected. ¡°I did what I was told to do, even though I did not want to. I can¡¯t change fate. Looking back, it all seemed so surreal like it was all destined. Whatever be the case, I just hope it goes right and my family remains peaceful and safe. This continuity of nature, this calmness I have learned to enjoy it, treasure it and in the end preserve it. It will be a great pity if I lose it now. I just hope you will forgive me, my love.¡±
¡°We will, my love.¡±
¡°We will.¡±
One single sentence from two voices with various emotions resounded throughout the room.
And then silence covered it all¡.

Chapter 4 - A Breadth of Fresh Air Will Be Nice.
The next day,
Early in the morning, Veeras room was a complete mess by now.
Books and clothes were scattered everywhere, various kinds of chemical liquids spilled across the floor, broken pieces of cups and plates on his table giving someone a rough outline of his eccentricity.
Veera looked like he was studying on his table, but his mind, in reality, was somewhere else completely.
The words his father said last night was still echoing in his mind. ¡°Veera, always remember we are the Yadus. As a member of the Yadava family, you have an advantage, but also a disadvantage! The disadvantage is you will breakthrough very slowly and you will need more resources. However, your advantage is what you lack in quantity you can give that back in quality and versatility. So, tread your path carefully.¡±
Veera slowly rubbed his eyes while still being engrossed in his thoughts.
¡°It is never that easy¡¡Around the world¡..become strong¡¡.fix up the mess.¡±
¡°Sounds good, doesn¡¯t work at all.¡±
¡°Even mother is not saying anything about it. Probably she knew something was not right. Brothers are also not at home. It¡¯s only me now.¡±
Veera sighed, slowly opened his eyes with a dull look.
¡°Gotta hold myself, for now, I am still too small. I think the best course of action will be to prepare, to become strong and to gather information as best as I can.¡±
He stood up and went towards a nearby chest. Brought up a scroll on his table, and unrolled it.
It seemed like a large map. Veera took a quill, dipped it in ink and observed the map.
¡°According to my knowledge, the eternal star was first seen in Ainu itself. That all sounds good until you know the fact that was during the age of darkness a.k.a the beginning of proto-immortals. Then it was again seen 23 millennia¡¯s years later, but after 45 millennia¡¯s it was found in the Far East. Good for me though, Orient competition will be held there after all.¡±
He marked some places on the map.
¡°So, going towards east seems a totally viable option now, maybe I will pass through Napoli and other interesting places in the way. Who knows?¡±
¡°I will also have to go towards west¡..¡±
He circled another area on the west side of the map.
¡°Heard pretty interesting things are going on there, a revolution of some sort or something. That¡¯s it then for now at least.¡±
He rolled the map, tied it up and put it in one of his drawers.
Veera sighed again and said faintly.
¡°And even if the eternal star is not here anymore, that doesn¡¯t mean I have nothing to do here. That will be unwise of me to do so. Looks like, you have many things to do, V. Too many things to do actually, but too little time you have. An early bird catches the worm; I should probably start from today itself.¡±
While encouraging himself, he quickly called a maid.
Footsteps came from behind.
¡°Young master,¡± a maid stood behind him respectfully.
Veera did not turn his head merely saying, ¡°Go and tell my mother that I am going out and might come late. If she were to ask the reason, tell her I am out for training. Oh, and while you are at it tell Naina to clean the room please.¡±
¡°Yes master, I will.¡±
He then went out.
¡°First, some money¡±
Veera smirked as he walked, ¡°Oh boy, it will be fun.¡±
The entire City of Ages was a large heavily fortified city which was divided into parts to be governed by various bodies, one of them being the Yadu family itself for being the primary member and a leading family of the Holy Union and its Republic.
Veera walked the road as sunrays shined behind him.
The entire marbled road was filled with all sorts of noises and gaudy things. Magical carriages which carried people automatically traveled through the road simultaneously. On each side of the road were orb lamp posts, hotels, clothing stores, weapon stores, nightclubs, and all sorts of other places. In addition, both sides of the road were lined with pine and cypress trees.
Various people could be seen walking through the road chatting and smiling.
It perfectly portrayed a magical renaissance urban society with prosperity bustling through the streets.
Veeras golden robe seemed to shine even more under the rays of the sun. The insignia of a blue star can be seen drawn on his cloak from the back, signifying his not-so-ordinary status to anyone who saw it.
He seemed to stand out, but at the same time looked cold and distant like the star itself.
His stroll on the street was elegant, yet naturally with ease.
Blue Way Waterfalls Restaurant was one of the most luxurious places to visit in the Holy Union, City of Ages.
Currently, though, the staff of the restaurant was rather confused. The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
Five young masters who dressed richly were in the hall, all of them being regular customers of the restaurant.
They always came loudly in the restaurant and left loudly. These were the kinds of people who were the hardest to deal with. If you offend them, you will get sacked from their families, and in turn, your boss will smack you from your job. If you don¡¯t offend them, your boss will still smack you for the damage they had done. Either way, it seemed the effect remained the same.
But this time¡.
All five of them were sitting on the floors! They wore the same haughty look, one swearing, one cussing and one even crying¡¡clear discontent filled the air
What happened to this guys?
Did their father die? Or mother ran away?
Just as the spectators were wondering, someone came from the door.
Everyone widened their eyes when light illuminated the person¡¯s face.
Only a portion of his face could be seen through the light, yet it was enough to stir unrest within everyone who was present.
The staff immediately lowered their heads, eyes radiating and hearts thumping, with their cheeks flushing pink.
It¡¯s¡it¡¯s¡.the star-born!!...He looks so cute as usual¡.like a cat who just woke up!!!
Well, suffice to say Veera didn¡¯t like cats though. He was more in the dog faction.
The figure by the door sauntered in, with his robe in all sorts of elegance and mystery, with the ever-changing gold and yellow.
¡°Well, looks like my entire squad is here. Quite generous for you to do so, it indeed saves me quite a bit of time.¡± Veera smiled ¡°Please, please stand up; I know you are not beggars. Quit acting being like that. We haven¡¯t met in a long time; we must have some shots to commemorate this event.¡±
One of the young masters then said through gritted teeth, ¡°Veera, we are indeed beggars or if not we will be soon. Let¡¯s be fucking straight, what do you need this time around?¡±
Veera smiled as he tilted his head fiddling with his long hair, as he replied in a friendly manner, ¡°There are indeed many things I want, Young master Riu; some of which are oceans apart from me. But Riu, pray tell why do I feel like you are disregarding me? Not even letting me sit, are you?¡±
Young master Riu paled, he quickly stood up from his sit and cleaned it up, ¡°No, nope, not at all. Who dares disregard Young master Veera? You are our father, the star, the brother that we never had. Hahaha!!¡±
As he spoke, he kept signaling others to defend him.
¡°Indeed, indeed. Young master Veeras excellence covers the sky. Drink, we must drink and we will drink.¡± The other young master nodded in agreement, with forced smiles, sad looks, and humorless laughter.
Veera smiled gently, ¡°If that¡¯s alright with you. Then please, I even brought sweets for you¡±
¡°You first¡±
¡°Please, the heaven always directs the path. You are our heavens, young master.¡±
The young masters replied in an eager manner, walking upstairs but when looked from behind, all of their faces looked close to tears as if they were eating a bitter gourd.
Gods, what did he mean by ¡°if that¡¯s alright you.¡±?
Is he being raped or something? From the looks of it, it¡¯s the other way around actually.
And drinking? Drinking??? That sister fucker never drinks with us!!
God, he even brought sweets for us. There was no such nice treatment last time. He directly came, farted, took all the money and went away.
They wondered how much money he will plunder this time.
Wine and dinner were served.
Veera smiled and lifted his cup.
¡°This cup of wine, I toast to all of you for being always with me whether in times of need, joy or sorrow. For that, I am greatly thankful, cheers!!¡±
¡°¡±¡±¡±¡±yeah, cheers!!¡±¡±¡±¡±
Veera nodded smiling, ¡°looks like everyone welcomes me, huh?¡±
¡°Of course!!¡± Young master Kai spoke quickly, ¡°anybody not welcoming you will be a great sinner!!¡±
All young masters nodded like chickens. ¡°That¡¯s right, that¡¯s right. Anybody who doesn¡¯t give a face to young master Veera is the son of a rotten pussy.¡±
Their eyes then met, all of them thinking, ¡°Damn it, all five of you are the son of a rotten pussy! Me too¡¡.Anybody who welcomes this character is¡..gay!!¡±
Veera coughed and said, ¡°Since all my brothers are here, this noble one has something to say even though I am feeling a bit shameful.¡±
Here it fucking comes!!
Young master Riu spoke, close to tears ¡°Young master Veera, please speak.¡±
Veera shyly chuckled and spoke, ¡°Forgive me for being straightforward then.¡±
¡°Recently, I am having trouble farting. My mom and dad are afraid I am having hemorrhoids, but you see we are very poor. So I will need some gold coins from you all, not much.¡±
All five young masters¡¯ face turned bitter.
Oh, that explains why he did not fart today. He deserved it, he fucking deserved it.
¡°How much would you need?¡±
Veera said, ¡°Not much. 25000 gold coins from each of you, will do until the next time I come here.¡±
Young master Kai spoke with a frown, ¡°Veera, it¡¯s not that I don¡¯t want to help you out. But my parents just divorced yesterday...¡±
Before he could even finish, Veera looked at him. ¡°Ok, 50000 gold coins from you then.¡±
¡°Why are you looking at me like that? Is it too little?¡±
¡°No, not at all.¡± Kai interrupted him immediately. ¡°Let¡¯s drink in your name today.¡±
Kai gulped the wine into his mouth as soon as possible. It left a bitter feeling in his mouth.
The other masters looked at him.
Damn, lie more, would you?
Veera then turned towards them, ¡°Then what about you all? Is it too little?¡±
¡°Not at all, not at all.¡± They said, exasperated.
It seemed they won¡¯t be coming here for the next few days.
Veera felt pity though. It directly meant no more free gold coins for the next week.
One should know, 25000 gold coins were not really that much for these guys. At most Veera probably only took 25% of their total money.
As for the reason why he took from them, it indeed had to do with friendship, they helped him today. He will return the favor some other day.
It¡¯s just that Veera liked to stay at home most of the time.
Anyhow, Veera got his money. This trip was at least being fruitful till now.
The others young masters had already left the restaurant, while Veera was still drinking wine being lost in his thoughts.
¡°1, 50,000 gold coins. Not bad at all.¡± Veera laughed, ¡°Enough for me to buy some extra things.¡±
He suddenly spotted a familiar figure in the corner and began to move towards that person.
There in one of the corner tables was a beautiful cute girl sitting silently.
She was reading a book while drinking juice.
Veera knew her really well, to be honest. Not surprising at all though one will always know one''s best friend well.
The girl seemed to notice the youth coming towards her as she closed her book and looked towards him.
¡°Deborah, it has been a while.¡± Veera lightly spoke.
Her name was Deborah Moonshadow. As one might deduce from her name, she comes from the Family of the Moon.
Veera and Deborah whether by coincidence or something more than that were born on the same night under the same moonlight.
As the Yadu family and the Family of the Moon were allies. They immediately perceived this coincidence as divines mandate and thus both of them were declared as born couples.
People even perceived they looked good together and were the other halves of each other. One resembled the eternal moon and the other a twinkling star on its side.
But, Veera and Deborah themselves did not think too much about it. They just had fun whenever they met and loved each other¡¯s company. At least, that was how it went till now¡..
Deborah was wearing a white-striped blue female robe with a moon necklace hanging on her neck. Her long jet black hair reached to her legs, her green eyes with a blue tint which looked like pearls were beneath her perfectly arched eyebrows. Anyone who saw her can imagine the eternal beauty she will become when she grows up.
¡°Oh Veera, it¡¯s you. It indeed has been a while.¡± Deborah softly said.
She looked just like beautiful as ever, Veera thought.
¡°May I take a seat? Madame.¡±
¡°Oh shut up! You will still be here even if I said no, what is the point of asking then?¡± Deborah asked pouting her cheeks.
¡°Don¡¯t blame me. I was just trying to be charming and attractive for you to see.¡± Veera chuckled.
¡°Anyways, small things will keep going on. let''s discuss life,¡± Veera said while being hardcore philosophical about it.
Chapter 5 - I Have Time, I Have Love.
Debora rolled her eyes, ¡°Good to see, you are still being energetic as usual.¡±
Veera laughed, " You wish. So, what¡¯s going in college?¡±
¡°As usual, nothing worth talking about, you are being missed though as usual. You!...Stop, that ugly smile of yours. It¡¯s annoying.¡±
Veera was positively beaming with delight, ¡°Why? It feels good to be recognized. ¡°
Debora hadn¡¯t met Veera for days and was actually quite worried about him. But now that she had again met him now, she just wanted to directly jump in a well and die.
Silently, she picked up her book and again started to read it like she was doing before.
¡°It will do you much good if you lay off that pride of yours. So, how have you been all this time?¡±
¡°Same like you, nothing much worth noting. Of course, other than the fact that too many things have piled unto me lately.¡± Veera said while drinking Debora¡¯s juice.
Debora¡¯s mind instantly turned cold and her body shook. She was so tempted to flip the table and eat Veera alive.
That drink was the special virgin honey mint juice that she had ordered after much saving,
And she herself had just taken her first sip before Veera arrived. Naturally, she was very angry.
¡°Veera, I think the juice you are drinking just happens to be mine. I wonder if you will give it to me back?¡± she said coldly.
Veera looked into her deep blue eyes directly and passionately said, ¡° Sharing is caring, Deborah. I care about you so much, I really do¡¡¡.. and I know you do too. So can you not discriminate our friendship just like that? It just hurts me so badly.¡±
Deborah did not even look at him, and mockingly replied him, ¡°Pretty clich¨¦ line even for an 11-year old kid, you will have to try hard immortal to make me fall for you. Or people who are watching us will look down on you.¡±
¡°Really? What the actual heck!!¡± Veera was surprised and looked around. Indeed few people were looking at them and were giving him looks of ¡°Try harder!! You can do it. I believe in you. Just believe it!!¡±
Oh, boy. Shit just went awkward.
Fortunately, Veeras skin was really thick. So what if they are looking at us? Are they even worthy to get her attention? Are they even worthy to talk with her?
Pfft, just let them look at us. Who cares?
Like this, he began to comfort himself.
Debora¡¯s face was covered with the book she was reading. So, one will not able to tell her expression; except maybe her slightly red ears.
He smiled and said, ¡°Alright, I will treat you next time.¡±
Debora raised her thumb and replied, ¡°Even though I know where it is going. But I approve of the free food, it¡¯s a deal then.¡±
¡°You haven¡¯t told me much the know-how of your family. How have they been?¡±
¡°You seem to be very curious today. I don¡¯t really care though; they are all well and good. But things have been going a bit fishy lately.¡± Deborah said lightly. She herself was sounding a bit different now.
Veera grew serious now.
The Yadu family and the family of the Moon were good allies. They shared same roots, same interests, and close ties.
Naturally, any harm to one of this family will incur an indirect loss on the other; whether it be inside the Union or outside.
¡°Tell me, I am all ears.¡±
Debora whispered, ¡°Somebody seems to have designs on the Senate and have been controlling it from the shadows to do their bidding. Sadly,I don¡¯t know much about it .¡±
The sub-continent of Ainu and the entire world initially consisted of many kingdoms that mostly fought with each other. They were powerful and rich but remained internally weak. Thus, that period was known as the Age of Warring States or simply Dark Ages. These all changed with the coming of Reformation Wars. People felt the need to fight united under a disciplined but centralized power, thus true monarchy was born. This was known as the Age of Despotism. But with increased corruption, suppression and misuse of powers, during the Great War itself made people realized monarchy was not absolute. Thus, a new age began that shook the very foundations of the Middle Heavens itself; this was known as the Age of the 3R¡¯s (Renaissance, Revolution, Reformation)
Mass magical improvements from the elves and humans helped propagate the reformation to the entire world. In this post-reformation era, many places in the world have already embraced republican traditions and are prospering. The Holy Union being one of them, the senator chief makes the final decision and had some powers while the Senate was itself a council of wise men and possessed the most functions. To say that, power was divided equally is not a false statement at all.Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
And to control the Senate from the shadows was also not an easy task.
Thus, Veera put this matter in the back of his mind.
¡°The recent events- beast roaming in the forests, the country-side unrest is also a bit weary, I suppose; none the less, these are stuff which our family can take care off; you probably don¡¯t have to put your nose into it.¡±
¡°Indeed. You seem so alone now, where are those peers you always seem to be with?¡± Veera chuckled lightly as he said.
¡°I was with them training before you were here. I needed a break and a drink, so I came here, found you pillaging your so-called ¡°squad¡± and there we have it.¡±
Ah, she saw me.
¡°Ah, so my lady was stalking me from behind. Am I really that awesome?¡±
Debora did not say anything. She felt so dizzy that she could have faint from anger there itself.
¡°Well, why were you here other than like I said that friendly-meeting of yours?¡±
¡°Well, can¡¯t I come here? To meet my true love, you; Well, ok, stop looking at me like that. I came for training and to buy some gear.¡±
Debora¡¯s cold gaze had the power of killing him if it could.
¡°Well, you don¡¯t seem to be training right now.¡±
¡°I was going to. Give me a peck on the cheek and I will let go.¡±
Debora totally ignored the last few words of his reply out of her mind and said in askance ¡°Where are you going to train?¡±
¡°The forest, maybe¡± Veera replied nonchalantly.
¡°Be wary, I heard some bad things related to the forest this morning. I don¡¯t want you to break your legs or scratch your face. That¡¯s the only good thing you have.¡± Debora lightly said.
¡°I will. How is your training going on?¡±
¡°Pretty well, I suppose. I just broke through from the Mortal stage and I am doing well in magic too. My mom is telling me to undergo temple training as well.¡±
Veera went dazed for a while, dumbfounded he looked at her as if he was looking at a monster.
Damn it, your father here is still stuck at the mortal stage like for¡Ages! And you just broke through¡.
You are undergoing magic and temple training as well. Mother, who the fuck are you?
Indeed, although Veeras talent was great he did not have any particular interest in anything. He did cultivation because it was necessary for him and totally ignored arcane studies except for the theories which he did study. Debora on the other hand, trained in everything with conviction, thus, her breaking through was not a big deal actually.
Don¡¯t compare yourself with others; it¡¯s a battle you can never win, looks like that thought was indeed true.
¡°Looks like I need to get back on my work.¡±
Just as Veera was wondering in his mind and preparing to go,
¡°Veera, tell me does "looks" really matters?¡± Debora asked him softly. Her face was no longer behind the book and she was looking at him directly in his eyes.
Woah!! That question seems to come outta nowhere!
Veera''s mind did not seem to catch her train of thought completely. Maybe, it came from the book or maybe it didn¡¯t.
What the heck was she reading? Human understanding? Mind-reading? Philosophy? Erotica?
It did not take long for Veera to answer her though.
Laughing lightly he said, ¡°I don¡¯t know was what I wanted to reply, probably. But I don¡¯t think it¡¯s the answer you want to hear. I, we still don¡¯t know many things about the world Deborah. How does it work? Why does it work? What sort of force controls us from behind; this is an age of reason. It is up to us, and only us to find our own answers. But for now, from what I see looking around the world I will be lying if I said looks didn¡¯t matter. After all, it''s the first thing that our eyes see.¡±
Veera did not seem entirely certain himself¡
Debora stared at him for a while and nodded slowly. Slowly she brightly smiled,
¡°Indeed, well said.¡±
¡°Ok, I should be going now.¡±
Veera patted and softly kissed her forehead.
Veera turned back like the cunning fox he was, before leaving he replied smiling, ¡°I will see you later. Safety and peace¡±
Watching Veera leave, Debora resumed her reading and took another sip of the juice.
She sighed and only a whisper came from her parting lips, ¡°Is it really up to us alone to find our own answers?¡±
No one heard her whisper.
Veera strolled towards a certain direction from the Blue Way Waterfalls Restaurant. Large workshops were lined up on the streets and smoke could be seen coming out from the chimneys covering the sky. This place was entirely different from the previous blue way road which Veera came from.
He reached one such large workshop and rang the entry bell.
A large, bulky dark-skinned man wearing the outfit of a blacksmith came to greet him, ¡°Young master, long time no see.¡±
Veera smiled, continued with a handshake, ¡°Ibrahim, how have you been?¡±
¡°I am all good and all. Business is running smoothly as I will expect, speaking of business I believe I know your reason to come here. Your father sent me a runner yesterday, lemme guess. You are here for the gear, correct!!? Come come come¡± Ibrahim laughed, while hugging Veera from one side.
¡°I apologize for any inconvenience then.¡±
Inside the workshop, Ibrahim took him to a large room which showcased various weapons and armors hung around in walls or mannequin or kept in tables.
Ibrahim was a master blacksmith, a merchant, a weapon enthusiast, a retired warrior by profession from the Middle West. Through a great stroke of luck, Veeras father Yad found him wounded in a battle and gave him shelter. He instantly fell in love with this city, and it didn¡¯t take long for his family to migrate here. Sensing profit in the market with his great knowledge, he opened up an arms workshop and began to produce different lethal weapons and armor of greater quality for both mortals and immortals. Thus, with time people began to like him and his products and he grew big. Not because he was generous or anything, but because his products had value for money.
What we all call, ¡°A bang for the buck.¡±
Today, in this ¡°Steel Yard Road¡±, one can find many workshops like Ibrahim¡¯s that produces weapons and armors. But Ibrahim¡¯s Workshop still remains the popular choice of people.
Thus, one could imagine the great collection of weapons he will have in his workshop, now that he has grown so big.
¡°So, what do you need in my workshop?¡±
Ibrahim proudly said as he displayed all his collections to Veera.
