《Northern God》
Northern God - 1
In front of an altar, a large crowd of people, shivering in the cold gathered. Several priests soothed them, promising them safety if they believed in ''the lord''.
Many people smiled wryly. Which lord had aided them when famines came? Which lord helped them when their young froze to death? Which lord would allow for these raiders from the richer kingdoms of the south to come like this?
However, these people had nothing to their name but religion and their friends. They had no knowledge, only a very select few were even able to read, and even fewer able to write.
Nonetheless, these people were not idiots. Idiots cannot survive in the north, nobody can unless they are born and raised there.
Temperatures lower than -50-degree Celsius were considered normal. Beast hordes wishing to tear apart their bodies in a madness created by hunger were even more normal.
No kingdoms were built here. No mighty heroes were born, for they all died young. No saviors were raised, for angels cannot be born in hell. And yet, in this small, doomed village, religion had always been part of their daily lives for as long as they can remember.
It might have been because this village was slightly better off than most, and they could afford to raise priests or waste 10 minutes in the morning for a small prayer. These small acts eventually became norms, norms that allowed these villagers to never truly lose hope, to always keep that small idea in their minds that someone cares for them, might save them.
For this reason, after their defenses had been torn down one by one, their hunters killed by the mighty steel and technology of the invaders, everybody gathered here, around this altar. Be it woman, child, men, elderly, disabled, all of them looked at the priests as they prayed, following the High Priest''s lead.
The High Priest was a man of great talent. He had been born in this village over 50 years ago and had left when he turned 20. Everybody thought him dead, but when he came back, everybody rejoiced.
He had done a trip to the south. There, he learned of mighty machines capable of firing metal balls with mighty destructive force. He learned of the sword, of the spear, of tactics, of literature, and of religion.
The primitive ideas of this village were soon abandoned, and all of the ideas the high priest broughtback were soon adopted. Farming techniques were implemented, swords were forged, albeit not many were successful.
And yet, now that these people faced true men of the south, they had no chance. The high priest had known this, hence, he had sent only a few hunters to stall for time.
Originally, he had wanted to tell his people to run, to escape, but he knew that they would die anyways afterward. Hence, in a desperate gamble, he decided to gather them all around the altar, for one, final ritual to their god.
Now, everybody was looking at him with sad gazes. As he laid down on a large stone platform, all of the other priests surrounded him.
Some people even began to cry. To them, the high priest was not just the high priest. He was their ruler, their leader, their friend, their companion. Now, every single person knelt down and began to pray. To pray that the high priest''s self-sacrifice would not be in vain.
As the high priest looked at the surrounding acolytes, he smiled weakly. His naked body was already starting to freeze, he already could not feel his toes or fingers. Closing his eyes, he gently took the knife an acolyte handed him.
Then, without warning, he swiftly plunged it into his chest, ending his life in an instant. Now, even the acolytes knelt down as they began to pray, tears coming down their eyes like fountains.
As the sounds of the soldiers drawing closer intensified, the prayers only picked up in intensity and desperateness. Despite all hopelessness, nobody stopped praying. The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Just as all seemed lost, one of the priests suddenly exclaimed "Look! A light!"
At that moment, everybody''s eyes turned to that light. All of the villagers were confused, as they couldn''t see it, but all the acolytes began exclaiming and crying out, praying even more fervently.
As the people heard this, their prayers intensified. After a couple seconds, some of the villagers too began to exclaim, seeing that small light.
Soon, everybody could see it. It was just a light, a small, ball of light that looked like a newborn hovering over the high priest''s chest. Seeing this, the already desperate prayers turned solemn, and unknown to everyone present, small, almost invisible balls of light flew out from their own chests into the ball of light.
The more one prayed, the more frequently the balls of light came out, and the bigger they were. The largest of these smaller balls came from the acolytes, who had tears streaming down their faces as they prayed, "Mighty one! You are the light of our lives, shining your glory over us! Your will shall carry the earth and grant salvation to us mortals!"
Everyone prayed according to the teaching the high priest had left behind. Soon, that small ball of light began to visibly grow, as it turned from the size of a nail to the size of a fist.
At that moment, a rough voice shouted from outside the altar, "They''re here! Get them! Keep the women alive!"
Despite hearing this, nobody move. They could feel a strange coldness in their bodies that they never knew about slowly being melted away by their prayers, the feeling of doom in their hearts dissipating as this heat grew and grew.
As the doors of the altar began to resound with pounding sounds, one of the acolytes suddenly screamed as he fell down, a strange mark on his face.
However, that acolyte soon got up, his face filled with excitement. He looked at his own hands that seemed to have gained strength and a small, finger-sized fireball appeared on top of his palm.
Many of the acolytes began to display similar reactions. Each one of them fell down and got up, some of them could display fireballs, some small spikes of ice or earth, and one even had a small ball of shadows in his hands.
Soon, the doors were broken down and around 10 invaders came through with grins. However, said grins soon disappeared as they looked at the 100+ people all staring at them coldly.
8 acolytes walked up in front of the crowd, displaying their newfound powers. Seeing this, the invaders began to laugh as they easily blocked the small and weak attacks and prepared to counterattack.
However, before they could do so, a small hymn, almost inaudible, began to sound out from the center of the altar. Hearing this, the villagers felt their fearful hearts calm down instinctively, whilst the invaders suddenly felt a sense of impending doom so great some of them turned pale.
An almost invisible, green barrier suddenly expanded from the center of the altar. It passed through both invaders and villagers without causing any harm, and after reaching the edge of the village, it stopped and disappeared. If one was to look very closely, they might see it, but otherwise, it was invisible.
Soon, all of the invaders, numbering around 70, gathered in front of the altar, looking at the villagers with grins or confusion depending on their stupidity.
One of the invaders walked out of their crowd. He had a strange symbol on his chest and his gear was the best, signifying his high status. Yelling out, he said, "Surrender, and we will not kill you. Don''t surrender, and we will kill you all. The choice is yours..."
However, nobody from the village moved a muscle. They all felt a connection to the small ball of light at the center of the altar, and although it wasn''t ''speaking'', a soothing calm was transmitted from it, telling them to believe in it.
One of the acolytes yelled out "Never! Leave invaders, or our god will punish you!"
Looking at the young boy who just shouted, the leader of the invaders couldn''t help but laugh evilly. "Oh? You and what god?"
Just as he was about to say something more, a feeling of doom suddenly washed over him. He quickly took out his sword and shield, but it was far too late.
A hole had been carved into his chest, and in disbelief, he slowly fell down, his eyes losing all their shine.
Seeing this, all of the invaders paled and took out their weapons. They looked around, but couldn''t find the cause of their leader''s death. Then, the villagers and acolytes alike fell to their knees, praying once again. This time, their prayers were not filled with uncertainty like last time, but a mad devotion that only fanatics could have.
Seeing this, a couple of the invaders rushed forward in a rage, but in a flash of light, they found their still-beating hearts ripped out from their chests and thrown into the sacrificial part of the altar.
Then, the culprit of all the deaths slowly appeared. It was a floating hand, looking very similar to that of a normal human. However, it had no body to support it, and it was floating around with a holy feel to it.
Pointing at the invaders, the hand didn''t speak, but an intent seemed to be transmitted out from it...
"Die."
Northern God - 2
"Mommy, I''m tired..." A little girl cried as she tugged at her mother''s torn sleeve.
Her clothes were all torn and dirtied, but they still carried a sense of comfort and beauty in them, showing how this girl was originally someone wealthy. Nonetheless, now, her face was covered in grime, several cuts and bruises appeared on several spots of her fair skin, some of them even infected.
"I know, sweetheart. Just, run a little faster, ok? This way we can escape those scary people..." The mother said. If her daughter''s appearance was pitiful, she was desperate. The number of cuts on her body was at least double those of her daughter, and she was obviously terribly tired, but she still tried to encourage the young girl.
Originally, she would have seemed like a beautiful young woman, but now, all the grime and wounds on her body made her seem much less splendid than she should have been.
As the two kept walking, the daughter would occasionally whine painfully because of some kind of wound. They had traveled for weeks now, and although the daughter didn''t know, the mother truly was not sure of where she was going.
She had wanted to run to the eastern kingdoms, where she could silently live there, but before she could get there, they had been found out by their pursuers and had almost been recaptured.
Now, she was once again on a desperate run. She had shaken ''them'' off, but she also knew that they would find her again, and soon. Unless a miracle could happen, her fate was not a good one.
At best, if she was captured, they would execute her. At worst, she would be used as a breeding machine for the new king to make ''lawful heirs''. She shivered at the mere thought of that disgusting man so much as looking at her, and she couldn''t help but pray to whatever god above would listen to save them, or at least, save her daughter.
The little girl had lived a harsh life. She was only born 6 years ago, and even then, the civil war was already going strong. After the capital''s fall, her husband had been captured and executed, and her daughter had almost faced the same fate.
Thankfully, thanks to the selfless sacrifice of a lot of loyal servants, they had escaped, but if this continued, her daughter would not live much longer. It was obvious she was already severely malnourished and she was already starting to show signs of disease.
However, what could the poor mother do? All she had with her was her own body and a couple of clothes. They had barely survived by living off of the wild berries or other things in the forests, but now, those commodities were starting to disappear as snow began appearing.
As a woman from the south, the mother had never seen real snow. However, she was... had been a wealthy person, and wealth brings knowledge. Hence, seeing the snow, she realized that they were heading towards the north.
Seeing this, her heart fell. The Forsaken Land, the Wasteland, The Cold Hell... There were many names for the north, none of them pretty. Most of those who came here never came back, and those who did come back all told tales of scary beasts the size of mountains and savages that drink your blood.
However, the woman had no other choice. Taking a deep breath, she pulled at her daughter as they continued to walk forward.
Their feet had long since developed calluses from all the walking without shoes. However, now, they began to feel completely numb due to the cold, and although she wasn''t a healer, the mother knew that this was not good at all.
Several more days passed as the two kept and kept on walking. Food became even more scarce as they kept going, and although the water they would originally have to spend most of their time searching for was always available due to the snow, the coldness kept and kept on creeping in on them.
Now, as the mother herself struggled to even take steps forward, the daughter suddenly fell down. Panicking, the mother quickly picked her up and tried to call out to her, but to no avail.
She wasn''t dead yet, but the mother realized that such a fate was not far. Crying, the mother held her daughter in her arms as she buried her own face in her neck. Despair began to set in as the only reason why she hadn''t given up yet faded away in her own arms.
Just as she herself was about to lose consciousness, a young voice called out from far away. "There! They''re over there!"This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
The woman felt terrible. Her whole body ached, and she felt a terrible burning sensation everywhere on her body. However, she couldn''t even muster up enough strength to get up, so instead, she just opened her eyes.
Her sight was blurry, as all her senses felt. However, she could barely recognize the ceiling above her head.
"Oh, you''re awake. Good morning." A voice said from beside her. Turning her head, a young woman, not pretty but not ugly either appeared.
Her face was pale white, typical of northern natives. She had long black hair and clear blue pupils, and she wore strange white robes with a symbol of a ball being held in a hand.
"I... W-where is... my daughter..." The mother could barely say, her voice strained. Hearing this, the girl revealed a kind smile as she took the mother''s hand and held it tight whilst saying, "Don''t worry. She is fine. Our kind Lord saved her."
Hearing this, the mother smiled brightly but weakly as she fell back on the bed, her consciousness quickly fading. "Th... thank you..."
Seeing this, the girl smiled as she replaced the hot covers with new ones before calling another person wearing white robes with the symbol in the room and leaving.
Outside, the cold winds raged, and yet, the girl did not seem fazed at all by this cold. Walking forward, the woman began heading towards a large temple.
This temple seemed to be the entire center of the city if it could even be called that. In truth, all this city was would be a collection of houses and small shops. Nonetheless, several people walked on the roads anyways, chatting happily with their neighbors and friends.
After entering the temple, the woman first bowed towards a giant statue at the center. This statue was just like the symbol on her robes, but much larger and far, far more beautiful. The giant ball here seemed to contain everything the north had, plus more. The hand also seemed to be almost alive and breathing, as a small golden glow continuously emanated from it into the temple and the surrounding city.
After reciting a small prayer, the girl walked all the way to a door on the sides, passing by several priests either healing injured people, helping to deal with small conflicts or praying along with fellow believers.
Knocking on the door, the girl called out "Priestess Saina wishes to enter."
After a while, an old, gruff voice responded, "Enter."
Doing so, Saina entered the small room. In there, large bookshelves that took up more than half the space were the only commodities other than a desk at the far end of the door, filled to the brim with papers. There, an old man displaying an aura full of power and dignity stood. His old appearance only made him look wiser and stronger as if an ancient beast ready to tear intruders apart.
After a full bow, Saina, the priestess, began reporting, "The woman and child are fine. Although they suffered injuries, thanks to the light of the Lord, they have been saved. However, they clearly seemed to be on the run from something, or someone."
Laughing a cheerful laugh, the old man stroked his long beard as he recounted, "Ah... I so wish it was back in the old days, where it was just me and my companions, uniting the tribes of the holy land for the Lord... Now, I am but an old man needs to take care of small matters like these..." The old man said with a nostalgic look.
Hearing this, Saina''s eyes brightened as she asked, "Lord Bishop, may I trouble you for some time for a small story?"
Looking at the young woman, the old man nodded with a smile. "Yay!" The Saina exclaimed as she jumped into the old man''s lap.
"Hoho, young Saina, aren''t you too old for this?" The old man laughed as he stroked Saina''s hair tenderly. "I''m never too old for grandpa''s stories," Saina replied as she leaned on him.
"Fine. How do I start... Oh, yes. A long, long time ago..." Before he could even really start, Saina interrupted, "How long ago? Don''t be like that grandpa..."
Sighing, he continued, "A long, long time ago, around 70 years ago, your grandpa was still a young man. Back then, I was as eager for glory and justice as the young paladins of today were. I would always go around with my companions, conquering small villages and bringing them into the light of the Lord, but alas, one day, a tragedy happened!"
As Saina''s eyes perked up, the old man noticed this and picked up his tone, "I was patrolling the temple in a small border town, much smaller than this. The people there had just learned of the lord, but their eagerness for salvation was enough for me to be dispatched."
"The light of the lord had already covered the village, therefore, it was my absolute duty to protect them. But! I alone was not strong enough for what was to come!"
"One day, the earth began trembling. I rushed outside to see what was happening, and what I found stupefied me! It was a gigantic dragon, larger than 10 temples combined!"
"Ooh! Did you defeat it, grandpa?" Saina cried out as she showed an excited face. Seeing this, the old man laughed but shook his head. "Of course not, silly girl. I was but one man facing such a beast! Nonetheless, seeing the people get slaughtered, I prayed. That day, I can still remember the might of my prayer, and thankfully, the Lord heard it."
"Just as everything seemed lost, the mighty dragon suddenly stopped and looked at the sky. I did so as well, and high above, in the heavens, the Lord had appeared, looking at the dragon with a fury that felt tangible!"
"As the earth rumbled and the sky cried, the lord pointed at the dragon. The dragon, terrified from the Lord''s might, ran away, but it was all futile. A rain of fire fell upon the dragon, not leaving even a scale of the beast remaining..."
"What happened next? Tell me!" Saina said as she tugged at the old man''s shirt. "Not now, young one. Go check on the two women, as we may have visitors soon."
Saina''s face dropped as she got off the old man''s lap and left. Laughing, the old man looked back at his desk, seeing all the remaining paperwork to be filled. "Ah... How I wish I was younger..." He sighed, picking up a feather and tinging it in ink before going back to whatever he was doing beforehand...
Northern God - 3
A small, almost invisible light floated inside a giant dome filled with otherworldly drawings and structures. From this light, several extremely minuscule spiritual treads extended in all directions.
Little particles of light kept coming from those threads, feeding the small light. Although the process was so slow it couldn''t be seen by the naked eye, the small light was slowly growing, getting larger and more detailed.
Inside this light, a dim and blurry figure rested inside, nestled in itself as it slowly grew. Its true figure was impossible to determine, but nonetheless, an aura full of dignity and omnipotence still radiated from it, making it seem as though it could crush any and all with a mere look.
This figure had remained unmoving in this place for hundreds of years, but now, the blurry figure inside the light slowly raised it''s head as it looked in a certain direction, it''s emotions impossible to determine.
After a while, as if pondering, the entire dome suddenly began shaking. Endless golden light rushed out from several churches across the north as an invisible tide converged into this dome, more specifically, into the small light in it.
After a while, the tide ended. The figure itself hadn''t changed by much, however, a hand the size of a man stood in front of it. It had no arm connected to it and it looked like a mix between a claw of a devil and the hand of a saint, giving off a very strange, even disturbing vibe.
Turning towards a certain direction, the hand disappeared as it flew at a speed that no being could hope to achieve. The entire north seemed to cry out in joy as the hand flew, the snow underneath it melting to reveal beautiful flowers and small animals.
However, the aura of the hand was far different from its effects. A bloodlust strong enough to smash a normal person''s mind just by remotely looking at it emanated from it.
Meanwhile, somewhere near the border between the cold north and bountiful south...
Tens, perhaps hundreds of men were gathered, running forward at a terrifying speed. Anyone who had the disfortune of seeing them would find their heads suddenly separated from their necks, never to tell anyone of their presence.
At the front of the group, two men stood. One of them was an extremely fat man with chubby cheeks and a large pot belly, as well as a weird pig-like face. He was riding a giant wolf that seemed to have more teeth than fur.
Nextto the fattie, a handsome man with black suit and two swords on his waist ran without any mount. Compared to the fattie, this man''s aura seemed to carry a mercilessness that few could match. Furthermore, the look in his eyes was similar to that of a robot, uncaring.
After a long time running, the fat man finally turned to the handsome man as he spoke, "Lord Godking, may I ask why exactly we must go ourselves to capture the queen? I don''t think she''s good enough to be worth all this trouble..." The man said, his voice sounding similar to that of a pig. He even snorted a couple times whilst speaking.
Not even bothering to face the fatty, the Godking spoke, "Of course you don''t realize it. A mere slave is just that, a slave." His tone was harsh and filled with mockery, but the fattie didn''t even dare look at the Godking in the eyes as he said this.
"We need her, as you will need a proper heir. Otherwise, problems with successions in the future may occur. Those nobles do not yet realize I was behind all of this, so when I officially come in and annex the kingdom, you will have the legitimacy to let me do so. Furthermore, that woman is far more important than you realize. I felt a trace of space magic when she escaped, if I can capture her, I will be able to further my own power..." The Godking said as a hungry look appeared on his face.
Whether it was greed, lust, or a predatory gaze, it was unknown. However, the fattie did know one thing, and that was that as long as he was alive, he would never betray this devil made man.
Godking. The mere word would send kingdoms shuddering in fear. Tales of his power and cunning had long since spread far and wide. He was considered both the king and religious head of the World Empire, the largest empire in existence, covering over 1/3 of the world.
He had built this empire himself from scratch, only taking 800 years in the process. Hence, he had plenty of backing and money, making him a terrifying political figure.
That wasn''t all. He himself was already an extremely powerful magician capable of leveling entire armies, and even amongst old monsters, he was one of the top figures.
Naturally, there were people above him, especiallythat man. The Godking shuddered as an image of that bastard passed through his mind, rage and fear both welling up inside of him.
However, it only lasted a second. Soon, he was back to normal, the cold, merciless look reappearing on his face.
After a couple hours of running, the Godking suddenly stopped, making everybody around him stop too. Nobody questioned why, nor did they seem to care. Only the fattie looked at the Godking with curiosity and fear mixed into one.The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
Without any warning, the Godking slightly moved his hand, trying to touch something. He furrowed his brows as he murmured, "Weird..."
Although the others couldn''t see it, a strange, green barrier stood in front of them. This barrier gave him a weird feeling, but it seemed harmless. He wasn''t a barrier master, but he still had enough experience to tell that this barrier was very, very strange.
In fact, it wasn''t even just the barrier. The things behind it were weird. Where the group stood, outside the barrier, snowstorms kept raging and a cold capable of causing instant frostbite was common, but inside, it was far better.
There was much less snow, the temperature far milder, and the snowstorms were basically only little clouds.
A strange feeling welled up inside the Godking, but for the sake of his plan, he ushered the group forward, entering the barrier. They got through with no problems, but the Godking couldn''t help but feel strange.
As they kept going, the feeling became clearer and clearer, until he felt like, unless he got out of this place, fast, he would die. This feeling of inevitable doom was new to the Godking, and he didn''t like it one bit.
Taking a deep breath, he cast a strengthening spell on the entire group before yelling "Quick! We have to move!"
He didn''t bother explaining. After all, everyone in this group was a mere slave, puppets that would only obey him and nothing else. Only the fattie was still partially human, as for everyone else, their eyes were like those of dead fish, and their movements too stiff to make them seem natural.
Hence, they naturally obeyed. The Godking couldn''t care right now, however, as, after 10 minutes of extreme running, the mark he had planted on the woman began resonating, guiding him towards a small, defenseless town...
Inside of his office in the church, the old man sighed as he silently whispered to himself, "They''re here..."
Along with a stomp of his foot, he yelled out "EVERYBODY! GRADE RED ALERT! GO TO YOUR ROOMS!"
After his shout, a multitude of yells and screams erupted from the church as the priests quickly began ringing bells on the church before heading towards an underground complex, fortified with extremely though metals.
Soon after, the entire village followed the priests. Organizing the small populace was easy for these priests as they ordered everybody around based on age, sex and relationships. A couple minutes after, the entire village had turned into a ghost town with the exception of the mother, her daughter, and the old man. Saina herself wanted to come too, but she was taken away in the end.
After another tense 10 minutes of waiting just outside the village''s borders, the woman began to feel truly anxious. She knew that although they had saved her, they would still sell her away ifit would be convenient for them.
Looking at the old man, she could only pray for his kindness. As the sound of feet stomping on the ground drew closer, a group of men could be seen approaching.
Seeing this, the old man''s face scrunched up. He could feel that each one of these men could destroy him easily, and yet, feeling the slight golden glow on his priestly robes, his emotions calmed down.
Looking at these intruders like they were dead meat, the old man began mumbling words under his breath. The woman couldn''t hear him, nor could the kid. Nonetheless, they felt as though these words carried a strange power with them, making them shudder even in their very warm clothes.
As the two groups neared each other, the Godking slowed down, looking at the old man in front of him. He sneezed as he was about to obliterate him with a spell, grab the two females and run when the old man shouted, "Leave, intruders! You are not welcome in the Holy Kingdom of the Lord!"
For some reason, the Godking''s heart felt like it stopped. A strange, almost unhearable sound resounded through the entire area.
Snorting in his pig-like fashion, the fattie said "Hehe, old man, know your place. You are in front of the Godking himself!"
Seeing the fattie, the mother couldn''t help but silently grasp her daughter''s hand a little tighter. She looked at the Godking with a hateful gaze, but he didn''t even bother returning a simple glance.
Contrary to what the fattie expected, the Godking growled as he said, "Senior, I believe that this... junior, requires those two for a plan of his. Please, I will leave immediately, but I will only do so with those two in hand."
Hearing this, the old man snorted. "Leave. You are not welcome." He repeated, this time, his words louder.
Frowning, the Godking roared "Know your place!" As a powerful spell began taking form in his hands. A powerful feeling of death emanated from this spell, and in front of everyone, the Godking launched it at the old man, hitting him straight on. Or so he thought.
Instead, the spell just... disappeared, just as it was about to hit the old man. Seeing this, everybody''s eyes widened, especially the Godking''s himself.
Seeing their stupid reactions, the old man''s face turned solemn as he roared, "Leave! You are not welcome!"
"You are not welcome!" "You are not welcome!" "You are not welcome!" WIth his roar, the entire world seemed to respond as the earth began trembling.
"LEAVE!" "LEAVE!" "LEAVE" "LEAVE!" Mighty roars resounded from everywhere and nowhere at once. The entire world seemed to come alive as it all screeched at the invaders.
The Godking''s face turned pale as he coughed out a mouthful of blood. The fattie''s expression was even worst as several of his veins began bursting one after the other, his eyes grew and grew until they popped from their sockets, and his ears burst out.
Even the people behind them weren''t faring any better. Seeing all of this, the Godking wiped his mouth as he muttered, "Damn it..."
After pondering for a split second, the Godking suddenly threw himself forward, launching towards the two women. Seeing this, the old man''s pupils constricted. Without a second thought, he threw himself against the Godking, knocking him away.
Feeling the old man colliding with him, the Godking growled as his sharp nails swiftly separated the old man''s head from his neck...
Throwing the body away, the Godking looked at the two women with a harsh gaze. The young girl screamed as she hid behind her mother, and the mother herself took several steps backward.
However, the old man still did not seem dead. His bodyless head whispered, "You... not welcome... Holy kingdom... LORD!"
With a roar, the life in his eyes faded. Even the Godking was shocked at the old man''s vitality, but this shock did not last long as he suddenly turned towards a certain direction.
The moment he turned, his pupils constricted so much they seemed to disappear. As for why they did so?
A giant hand, the size of a mountain, was tearing it''s way towards him. A hatred so deep that not even the Bloody Berserker could compare to radiated from the hand, almost tangible.
The Godking''s body began trembling. He had thought it was the old man who made him feel a sense of doom, but now he knew, it was this hand.
He also knew another thing...
He fucked up.
