《Reality's Gate: Stealing The Gifts Of The Gods》 Curses, Gifts, And Sovereignty. ''To be a hero, enroll here!!!'' Alan read the sign outside his school cynically. See, with gifts, people''s wildest dreams could be realized. Well, at least some people''s dreams...He thought to himself as he looked at his status window.

See, ever since the Reality merging 2000 years ago, Earth 1 and 2 became what humanity calls the ''Order of Humanity''. This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon. So much has happened besides sentient races gaining status screens. Broken up into39 Chanceries, each governed by a Chancellor, it was truly a monster of both universes. With the influx of gifts, the impossible became possible. Immortals, aliens, demi-humans, all discovered from the technological, and more importantly, magical advances. With the insane speed of human development and reproduction, they quickly became the rulers of the universes. However, they were predominated by human superioristswho quickly brainwashed the rest into a disdainfulapproach to other lifeforms. This caused Alan''s life on Pluto, a dwarf planet in the Earth 1''s universe, to be filled with tribulation. Because he was a half-breed. His father was a good for nothing human and his mother was a slave from Earth 2''s universe. She was what Earth 1 would call an elf apparently. Unlike in the storybooks, Half-Elvesweren''t blessed with popularity or good looks. He was just average. Actually, he was worse than average, he was gift-less. "Move out of the way Pointy!" One of the highschoolers yelled out as theyraced up behind Alan, waking him from his musings. "One day...One day..." Alan muttered as he jumped out of the way of some kids using their gifts to skate across the icy snow-covered courtyard of Winter''s Heart High, the school where he suffered daily. his only life-line was imagining killing all the people who yell at him, mock him, hate him, and even the ones who just keep staring at him with ridicule. Why did the pointed ears he has made him so dislikeable? What did humans have that made them so amazing? All theycan dois reproduce like maggots!!!He screamed mentally as he walked into the building. He hungered for equality, but was given ridicule to starve on. He thirsted for friendship, but was made to die from dehydration by neglection. He craved a normal life, but was denied it time and time again. I WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS!!!!!He kept screaming in his head as he sat down in his classroom. Preparing for another day of painful mockery. But what could a gift-less do to escape the torment? Nothing. The gods laugh at his pain, they ignore his prayers, they live in eternal contempt for this existence they created to be laughed at. The sickness...The sickness is everyone, from the smallest human all the way to the gods. The should be purged. They should be given the pain they have given me... The powers they have granted and the ones they own should be stolen. Taken. He thought as the hours passed by, as the mockery continued, as the pain never stopped. But something was changing, a darkness was growing, and it was calling out to something. Someone.
After school, Alan walked down the cold road, his breath making a steamy wave in front of his face. He stared up at the darkening sky of Pluto, his specialty thermal enhanced coat barely holding back the terrifying winter weather of pluto''s second winter season. All he could see was The Sun, a tiny speck in the blackening sky. He hated the Sun, he hated Earth 1, he hated Earth 2, he hated everything. Except for his mother. In a strange way, he didn''t hate the one who inadvertently was the cause of his hell. But then again, she was the only one who didn''t look at him like he was the scum of the earth. She had always welcomed him home with a hug. She never complained about being a slave, she never complained when the man who owned them, Alan would never call him dad, beat her. She never got angry or upset, she was always strong for Alan. She was the one who convinced that man to let him go to school, albeit at a painful price for her. She was Alan''s only friend. However, Alan was too weak to protect her from their owner when he was in a bad mood, so Alan could only watch as she was thrown around the room during that man''s tantrums. The darkness inside Alan grew as he kept trudging through the snow to get to their house. The cold winter wind whipping and screeching around him as he walked steadily forward. This walk home from school was what he liked to call his crucible, the fire that made him stronger. Because to him, through his winter thermal enhanced gear, it was terrifyingly cold. His clothes were worn out and ancient, basically useless to the cold that was gnawing on his very bones. He was also without a gift that could help him, so he was forced to walk slowly through the icy weather of Pluto. As he almost collapsed from cold he finally made it to the gate of the house called home, that was more like a prison than any home he ever heard of. He walked up the stairs, the cold making his fingers barely movable. He reached the door and hesitated. He wanted to run, to die, to fight, to cry, anything but go inside that den of pain. To paint a picture, This house he lived in was owned by a middle-class family, there was the father, the mother, the two sons and the daughter. Then, Last and least, the slaves. He was a slave, but was allowed to attend school and try to find a place in life since he was only half a slave... And because his mother didfavors for the father. But no matter how much he wanted to run he couldn''t, because his mother would suffer the consequences... So he opened the door and entered the house. As he walked in he heard a scream. He recognized that voice! Shouting loudly he rushed up the stairs. "MOMMMM!!!" When he reached the second floor he heard the scream again, this time it was coming from the guest room. Rushing in, he saw a scene that would change him forever. His mother, the one who loved and cared for him, laying in a puddle of her blood, burn marks and cuts all over her body with the wife of the man standing over her, her face a twisted mess of rage and a fireball, her gift, in her hand. In the few seconds Alan stood in horror at the sight, he realized what had happened. The wife of that man had found out what his mother had done so he could have a chance at a better life and she wanted revenge. So, while the kids were at school and her husband at work she attacked the servant who''s gift was but to make water boil, his mother was basically gift-less. and now she was attacked and fatally wounded. "Oh its the piglet." The wife of that man said as she turned around, an evil glint in her eyes. "You''ll be next after I kill this slut heheheh." Throwing a fireball at Alan she turned back around. Alan, who was still in shock couldn''t move and was struck in the chest by the fireball. A whooshing noise was all he could hear as the fire crawled around his body while the impact flung him against the wall. "I WANT TO KILL THEM ALL!!!!" He shouted, almost going madfrom the pain emotional pain of seeing his mother tortured and the physical pain of being burned and thrown against the wall.
If you let me in, I will give you what you want.
As a blue screen popped up, Alan was too shocked and wounded to speak, so he could only mentally scream. YES GIVE ME STRENGTH!!!
Heheh alright kid, but let me warn you, you are gonna have to kill every single gifted person...
YES I ACCEPT!!!
I thought you''d say that. Here you go, accept my gift for you. [Destiny''s Thief]
The Beginning Of The One Who Steals Good Luck. ¡°All things truly wicked start from innocence.¡± -Ernest Hemingway _ _ _ _ _ _ Destiny¡¯s Thief? Alan thought in confusion.
Well¡ I said gift but while it might be a gift to you¡ to others, it¡¯s a curse heheheh.
The words the mysterious being said made him forget for a moment the pain he was in as he checked his status screen.

A curse? Alan thought in confusion before a wicked smile spread across his face. I will be the curse of the gifted¡. Perfect! Chuckling coldly, Alan rose like a zombie from the ground. Ignoring the burns and wounds as a fiery spirit was sparked into existence inside him. ¡°What are you doing getting up so quickly you piece of trash?¡± The bitch spat out. She didn¡¯t even spare him a glance as she charged up another fireball, preparing to finally kill his mother. ¡°DON¡¯T TOUCH HER!!!¡± Alan yelled, his rage exploding out as he charged forward, subconsciously activating his ability. Completely shocked, the bitch turned around and threw the fireball at him. Dodging to the left he narrowly avoided it as he shoved off the ground, jumping the last few feet to punch her with a glowing emerald green fist. A loud crunching noise rang out as his fist broke her jaw. Barely seconds later she crashed into the ground, screaming as the green light that was on his fist then traveled to her body seemed to suck away... something... from her. ¡°YOU ¡®ITTLE SHIT I WI¡¯ KILL YOU¡± She screamed, barely understandable from her broken jaw. She had never ever suffered a smack let alone a full-out punch. Just as Alan was laughing from the exhilarating feeling of fighting back, a notification from his Status Window left him speechless. This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Notification: Gained gift, [Fire Toss] - Fire manipulation type
Not believing his eyes he watched as the bitch on the floor kept rolling around, screaming in agony about how she will torture him and his mother for eternity. As he is watching in silence, enjoying her agony, she looks at him and yells, ¡°Fire I summon thee!¡± Giving Alan a fright that makes him instinctively jump to the right behind the bed. Only to be left feeling a sense of shame from his scare and a sense of joy from what he saw next. The woman who had tormented him and his mother all these years was screaming at her hand, trying to summon the gift she was given at birth and had all throughout her life. However, now she was only managing to create a few sparks, not even enough to set newspaper on fire. It was a truly hysterical and evil moment for Alan. His mother had taught him to always be kind and polite and never hurt anyone, but now, how could he ever go back to that path of innocence? When he had tasted such a rich dark world. Laughing softly he tried to summon the fireball, He only had to wait a second before a fireball appeared. It was so easy to control, almost like a third arm. He played with it for a bit, throwing the bright red ball of flame back and forth between his hands before maliciously tossing it at the woman he hated most of all. The bitch screamed in agony as her body was continually burned and charred. ¡°I¡¯m so sorry! I won¡¯t ever hurt you or her again so please stop!!! I will do anything just stop!!!¡± Her voice mangled by the fire creeping down her already broken jaw and into her throat as her hair burned away. Getting an idea, Alan turned off the flame. ¡°If you release us from slavery I won¡¯t burn you again.¡± He smirked with pleasure as the evil woman rolled around in pain on the floor, her cracked and blackened skin peeling as blood flowed across the floor beneath her. Seeing hope, light a dim light at the end of a dark tunnel the bitch quickly summons her status screen and crying with the pain of moving her arms types something in. A second later Alan got a notification.
Notification: You are no longer a slave. Lost Class: [Slave]
A miraculous feeling enveloped him as his stats which had always been sealed were unlocked. Being a Half-Elf wasn¡¯t for nothing when considering the growth speed of humans combined with the naturally high stats of elves. Not checking his stats, he stepped forth with newfound power. Alan spoke softly, almost a whisper as a cruel glint surfaced in his eyes. ¡°So I promised not to burn you right?¡± Panic-stricken, the evil bitch almost begged when she spoke confirming what he said. ¡°Yes, yes you did!¡± ¡°Where¡¯s your proof, bitch?¡± Alan laughed loudly as a fireball appeared on his hand and then was thrown at her. Screaming in pain, the one who brought his mother half to death was turned into nothing but a pile of ash as the fire died down.

Not paying any attention to the notifications, he ran over to his mother who was slowly leaving this world. ¡°Mom! Mom! Don¡¯t die I will find someone to heal you! Please don¡¯t leave me!¡± Alan cried bitterly. He couldn¡¯t stand the thought of being alone. But no matter what he could do, her life was slipping away. ¡°Alan¡.. I am so sorry¡.¡± His mother whispered through her charred lips. ¡°But I can¡¯t go on anymore¡ please kill me¡ the agony I am in right now is unbearable¡¡± She said with tears in her burned eyes. ¡°I WILL KILL EVERYONE!!! EVEN THE GODS FOR THIS!!!!¡± He screamed out loud as he snapped his mother¡¯s neck. Not even the exp and gift he gained from his mother could make him feel anything but hell. In fact, it made it worse

The torment inside him was creating a whirlwind of guilt and mindrending pain. He collapsed shortly after killing his own mother, the agony from the act too much to bear even though she had begged him to. When he came to two hours later, he was still crying, his body unbelievably heavy and torturously difficult to move, yet he finally awoke to reality when the mysterious being messaged him for a final time.
I know this isn¡¯t the best time to talk to you and I haven¡¯t explained a lot of your questions, but I only have enough strength left for this last message. You have no idea how hard it is to speak through a status window and not get caught by the gods. So my last few words shall be this: I am the Anomalous One. He who deviated from the dead end of the gods and rose above. I, however, was defeated in an all-out war with the gods when I was ascending and they trapped me here in this mortal reality. Find me¡. Please¡ And here is the last gift I will be able to give you, however, you will need to grow it to be able to use it to its¡¯ fullest potential.
Notification: Gained Gift, [The Ouroboros]
Alan thought for a bit as he looked at the last message from the Anomalous One. It doesn¡¯t matter who you are or who is against you, I owe you my life and my newfound power¡ I won¡¯t forget this debt of gratitude... Finally checking his status screen, he saw a few surprising and interesting things.

Alan whistled. If ten was a normal human status, that meant that at level one he was already three times as strong as a normal person. And speaking of the normal person¡ Alan thought with an evil smile about a particular man who should be coming home very soon... The Reward System. ADAM POV: Adam has had a long day, he was nagged by his boss, nagged by his wife on the phone to go buy groceries, nagged by his co-workers, and the customers. Nagged. Nagged. Nagged. Nagged. Finally, when he got off work he thought everything was going better, there wasn¡¯t much traffic, his car was a beautiful new model imported from Mars, the see-through ceiling showed a beautiful starry night sky, little did he know it would be the last one he¡¯d ever enjoy. When he turned onto his house¡¯s street, he was feeling refreshed. The kids were staying overnight at one of their friends¡¯ houses, so his plan went like this: Fucking get home. Fuck being hungry so eat. Fuck the elf. Fuck the wife. Fucking sleep. He was snapped out of his daydream as he turned into their driveway. He happily jumped out of the car and ran up the steps, not noticing the evil aura that pervaded the nice two story house. Opening the door he spoke out. ¡°Honey? I¡¯m hom-¡± His shout was cut short by an emerald green hand that grabbed his shoulder and another that punched at his throat with the strength of three normal humans. Barely dodging he was greeted with another fist. ¡°WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!¡± ALAN POV: Alan was surprised, he had guessed that the man would be able to dodge but not that quick. He was only surprised though, his plan accounted for that so he wasn¡¯t flustered. As the man tried to run back out of the doorway Alan grabbed the rug he had laid down with a bunch of oil to make it slippery and yanking it hard, caused the man to be thrown against the frame of the door by his own momentum. Taking the chance, Alan pulled out a knife and leapt forward, over the streak of oil left by the rug, and towards the man. Just as the knife was about to slide inside his ribcage the man activated his gift and a purple light covered him, with what seemed to be impossible he shoved off the ground and flew forwards nearly twenty feet out the door, however he was still cut by the blade which left a long jagged scar on his left side. Alan spat out in frustration as he activated {Restricted Fire Control} and threw out a long flaming rope that at record-breaking speeds wrapped around Adam and dragged him back inside the house before he could scream for help. As he was being dragged back, an emerald green light enveloped him, causing his purple aura to be drained quickly. Before Adam could do anything he was spun around and a fist covered in green light once again rushed towards his neck, but unlike last time, it didn¡¯t miss.Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon. CRACK! Went his neck. After planning and preparing for a bit was the final part of his revenge, killing the man that had tormented his mother and him for so long. It was such a satisfying feeling. To have a ringing crack noise sound out from the neck of the man who you hate most, and for it to be because of a punch that came from you. ¡°Heheheh, so satisfying. Hm, this is interesting...¡± Looking in surprise at the notification windows, he noticed something peculiar.

Notification: Gained gift, [Lightweight] - Gravity type
A gravity type? A rare class 3 power was given to that slob? No wonder he was valued so much by his employers¡ If he could pass on a gravity gift to one of his children that would be huge¡ Alan deduced silently. See, Gifts are an interesting conundrum. They are decided half through the gods gifting them and half through genetics. Or more truthfully, the gods used the lineage of a child to decide which gift they get. And gifts were broken up into categories: Class 1: The lowest, basically useless gifts. Alan¡¯s mother who had [Water Heating] would be in this one Class 2: The stronger and most common, Elizabeth¡¯s [Fire Toss] would be in this category. Class 3: The more powerful, these would be common nobles and powerful company CEOs, etc. Class 4: The truly abnormal, strong and powerful, beloved of the gods, Alan¡¯s {Restricted Fire Control} goes in this category. Class 5 and up: The most incredible and truly powerful, The ones who the gods deem worthy to be one of them. And the pattern for manipulation type gifts goes as follows: Restricted Control: allows for manipulation outside the body, such as weapons. Control: Allows for armor crafting and weapons. Restricted Manipulation: Allows for creation of living creatures that feed off your power, As well as the creation of armor and weapons. True Manipulation: Allows for creation of living animals with stronger abilities, creation of armor and weapons, and you can change your body on the inside to become almost a living being made from the element you can control. Now back to the story. Alan sat down on the floor next to the pile of ashes that was left from burning Adam¡¯s corpse. Not sure where he should next, he just kept thinking. The adrenaline was gone. The pride at winning was gone. The excitement of finally having powers was gone. He just felt empty, all his drive and hunger was dead, he just sat there staring at the embers of the man he killed. Searching for something to keep him going. What am I supposed to do now¡. He wondered in a depressed mood. The Pluto Law Enforcement would find out about this in a few days and then he would be caught¡ Unless he was strong enough... A wicked glint sparked in his eyes. ¡°In that moment when I saw my mother being tortured, I might not have noticed, but I had chosen right then to fight back. I had chosen to follow the path of killing, I had chosen to fight back, I had chosen to curse both Earths, I had chosen to become the nightmare for the United Earths Reality Dominion Council, I had chosen to curse all those who oppose me!!!¡± Alan cackled madly. ¡°I will make them regret their corrupted society!!!¡± He didn¡¯t stop laughing until a thought struck him, what better way to take revenge than by killing and stealing the gift of everyone on Pluto? As soon as he thought of this he heard a ding! Noise and was greeted by a sweet, amazing, wonderful, addictive notification window. Because, who doesn¡¯t love blue boxes that tell you you¡¯ve become more badass?
Notification: The first scale of [The Ouroboros] has been unlocked due to your overwhelming desire for destruction. You gained: Reward system.
First Reward: Beserk level 1 Berserk: Each level dramatically raises all attributes, including health and mana, for a short duration. Level 1: x2 Level 2: x4 Level 3: x8 Level 4: x16 Level 5: x32 Cost: 15 Curse Points
The Cursed Gift: Vampirism. Berserk? Sounds so much like something I would be into heheh... Alan thought to himself. But sadly, Alan didn¡¯t have enough curse points to exchange for berserk, so he had to get to killing. Which to be honest, he had no qualms about. Because if they treated him and other demi-humans like livestock why did he not have the right to treat them the same way? Kill or be killed was his new motto. Now, some explanations about Pluto¡¯s population. Being a dwarf planet and on the outskirts of the solar system, this planet was prime real estate for the wealthy and wanna-be-adventurers. It had a small population since most of Earth 1 had left to travel Earth 2¡¯s realm or to go beyond the molded Universes to the other realities. Part of the Complete Domination Movement. Typical humans. Now the CDM as they are called, are comprised of both government-funded Conquerors and privately funded Expansionists. With a single goal: Dominate everything. So Pluto was prime real estate for those wanting to either live outside of the sphere of activity in the center of the solar system and those who want to expand the power of the chancelleries in Earth 1¡¯s universe. But there weren¡¯t many of them so the actual population of Pluto is around 82,658. However, that all didn¡¯t matter to Alan one bit. To him, all that mattered was revenge against the entirety of existence. No love or friendship existed in his mind. Kill, kill, kill, was the only thought. And so he did. Around 7 Days Later. BANG BANG! The ricocheting noises of attack type gifts being used to attack a giant wall of metal rang out. ¡°Keep firing!!! Don¡¯t let that monster get any closer!!!¡± One of the last surviving defender¡¯s on Pluto shouted out Responding to the first man¡¯s shout a second rallying cry was voiced. ¡°Fight back! don¡¯t give up!¡± ¡°Mommy wake up!!!¡± A little girl cried over her bleeding parent. The inhabitants had been fighting for three days and so far had no success, all communications, supplies, everything was gone. No matter what they tried, The giant metal wall crept closer and closer, smashing all their defenses and creating a smooth path for the monster they were speaking of. That monster being one Half-Elf, named Alan Maverick. With no sleep or rest, he had continually massacred the inhabitants of Pluto. Neighborhood by neighborhood. Row by row. House by house. Family by family. Person by person. None were spared. He had started out silently, with no one being the wiser until halfway through the week when a fourth of the population disappeared, simultaneously Alan also became strong enough to be more aggressive with his killing. So far his status window looked like this.

So you might be curious about why he still doesn¡¯t have a class. That is because there hasn¡¯t been one he likes yet. Magic swordsman, Knight, Caster, Healer, none of those appealed to Alan. He was hoping to have one by the time he annihilates an entire planet of people. Ugh, I guess I won¡¯t have a new class before I leave Pluto¡ *Sigh*... Deciding it was finally time to massacre these last few resistance fighters, he sent his miniature army in their base, which was a fortified Walmart. As the few remaining Plutonians were being slaughtered, Alan received a mental image from one of his fire wolves. It showed someone helping him kill off the remaining fighters. The only strange thing was that this person seemed to be drinking their blood after killing them... Most interesting... I wonder if this is the vampire the news was talking about a week ago... Alan Thought to himself as he tried to decide what to do with this person. I could kill it... Get its gift, or I could try out the minion system I got from the reward system a while ago... Deciding it would be more fun to have it as a minion, Alan proceeded into the fortified Walmart, ashamed that such a thing would exist as a fortified Walmart. To catch a vampire. Thirty minutes later: CLANG!! CRASH!!! So flashback, she, yes the vampireis a female, did not take kindly to being demanded to surrender and become a minion. So she did the logical vampire thing and shouted out something about drinking Alan''s blood and tried to attack him. And that''s where we are right now. "Fuck!" Alan yelled out as a piece of metal was thrown, cutting his arm open and causing a spout of blood to erupt from the wound. Jumping behind one of his metal golems he sent a mental message recalling all the minions he had in the surrounding. GET THE FUCK OVER HERE THIS BITCH IS CRAZY!!! Heeding his message, every metal golem and fire wolf ceased their attack and, with the two fire wyverns, rushed over to the corner of Walmart where the battle between Alan and the vampire was raging. Just as Alan managed to send out the message, the extending claws of the vampire sliced through the metal golem that was shielding him. "SON OF A FUCKING BITCH I LIKED THAT ONE!!!!!" Alan yelled out, completely ignoring the fact his health had dropped below half. "I gave him a crown and everything! he was my first golem! I named him Ricky Picky Licky Dicky Nicky!" "Bastard stop running and making jokes! I am a royal descendant of the Bloodsucking race will not be a minion of such a lowly halfbreed!" The vampire shouted back before lunging with her claws that had extended to over six feet towards Alan, however, she had struck his trigger nerve. As she was lunging, Alan went from having fun with a psychotic raging female vampire, to pissed as all fucking hell. The one thing that will always set him off was his lineage, so when she screamed out about it, the fight went from a ''friendly'' spar to a full out war. And Alan could very likely be the incarnation of the god of war. In his mind, he was speaking faster than the ear could sort out he was activating every gift he had. Ice armor equip! Fire armor equip! Earth armor equip! Metal armor equip! Air armor equip! Gravity armor equip! ALL WEAPONS ACTIVATE!!!! In just a millisecond a whirlwind of mana and elemental energy sprang up around Alan as he stood there, looking like the definition of rage, the entire Walmart started rattling and shaking as wave after wave of power emanated from inside of it. Immediately sensing something wrong, the vampire tried to retreat however to her horror she found that she couldn''t move, it was like gravity was holding her in a death grip. "Don''t. You. Ever. Bring. That. Up. Again." He muttered softly, like the calm before the storm. "Or. Else." "O-ok..." Was the meek reply from the vampire, who was currently immobilized by his {Gravity Control}. "Now listen closely," Alan said barely containing his anger. "Either you die or choose to follow me, if you follow me I will never forsake you and my power will be yours as well. Because that is what my minion system does, it makes a version of my abilities for you to use. Now, do you accept?" Weighing her options, she obviously decided on her only logical choice. "I-I accept..."

But till then chapters will be a bit delayed (so one ch every three or more days, unless I have an insane drive that day or get a co-author/proofreader/editor). I apologize for the inconvenience lol. The Successor of the Ouroboros. Finally slaughtering the last of the residents of the Plutonian colony, Alan was rewarded with a notification.
Notification: Gained Title, [Plutonian Sovereign]
It took a week to murder over 82,000 people, Sure he used an army of elemental abominations, but that still caused a sense of sickening pride to swell up inside Alan¡¯s chest. Alan looked across the destroyed Walmart, with boxes and different products strewn across the floor and saw the little vampire drinking away. ¡°Seras, how¡¯s that blood taste?¡± He spoke as a cruel evil smile extended across his face. While he was watching his vampire drink like an addict, he chuckled at the thought of how similar she was to an alcoholic¡ Was there such a thing as a bloodoholic? There should be since there are vampires. Unless they are picky eaters. But looking at his little vampire princess that was definitely not the case. Unless her insane hunger was unique¡ It¡¯s like she¡¯s a bottomless pit¡ Alan contemplated quietly. Vampires, logically, should have at least a bit of time in between blood becoming mana¡ or whatever magical wibbly wobbly stuff it becomes. As Alan half pondered half complained, he sat down on a pile of clothes next to one of his fire wolves who kept watch. Why would Alan need something to keep watch when he had already killed everyone on this planet? Not even he himself knew. He just had a bad feeling, like the cold dread from a hurricane slowly growing just beyond sight. Call it a predator¡¯s instinct. However ignoring that annoying fear, he contemplated the different methods vampires might have to gather power from blood, and as time passed he dozed off. FINALLY!!! A familiar voice shouted. ¡°W-what?!? Where am I???¡± Alan shouted out in surprise as he sat bolt upright. Surprisingly he wasn¡¯t where he fell asleep earlier, now he was in a cold, dark and damp cell. Walls of dark and jagged stone with a floor of smooth, cold granite-like rocks was all he could see. Speaking of seeing, the only light coming in was from a yellow bulbous ball suspended, with what could only be guessed as magic, in the middle of the room. And in the center of this ceilingless room, he saw a corpse-like body hanging from huge chains, chains almost three feet wide and stretching up beyond the dimly lit circular room. Well, kid, this is THE fucking prison for true immortals, obviously. The strange thing was the voice of the corpse was seemingly inside Alan¡¯s head, but at the moment that wasn¡¯t his biggest or most necessary question. ¡°So this is a prison?...¡± Alan muttered softly, shocked by the cold aura of nothingness that seemed to emanate from this strange place. Heheh, yep this is The Pit, the resting place for immortals who defy The Path. Hearing an answer to his question with such a cold chuckle, Alan involuntarily felt a cold shiver of fear. ¡°Are you the one who gave me my power?¡± Alan asked in almost a whisper. Yes and no, I gave you the beginning, the rest is a lie those damned gods made, and once again you can call me Anomaly. The self-proclaimed Anomaly uttered irritably.Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! ¡°What do you mean by that??¡± A Shocked Alan blurted out. Well, I mean that as soon as they thought you were a threat, they started to mess with reality so as to make every single power you gained be nothing but a lie. A rug they could pull out from underneath you when their chess pieces were in place to annihilate you. Anomaly declared, wondering how Alan would take it. Almost immediately, completely disregarding the fact that his powers were all a lie.¡°So you mean to say all those people I killed weren¡¯t real?¡± Well yes, they weren¡¯t real. Anomaly almost whispered, hoping against all odds that Alan wouldn¡¯t have a change of heart and try to reform his life, try to be a better person, he hoped that above all Alan would not become one of those self-righteous justice freaks. ¡°I AM SO PISSED, I WORKED SO DAMN HARD TO KILL ALL OF THOSE LITTLE SHITS!!!¡± Heheheh this is why I decided on you. Anomaly elated pronounced. I need someone who has a hunger for mayhem and a thirst for death, someone who can destroy the old and shepherd in the new. Someone who is so hungry that he would eat himself to get where he wants to go, someone who would defy the limits of what the gods placed upon him, who would throw off the suffering they deemed his to bear. An Ouroboros, The Snake of Eternity. "Why do you need someone for what sounds like a rebellion?" Alan inquired. Well obviously because I need someone to rebel against the gods so I can get the fuck out of here. Anomaly grumbled irritably. "Well you don''t have to ask twice, I think you understand how strong I, Alan Maverick''s, hunger for mayhem and thirst for death is?" Yes, that I do heheh. Anomaly chuckled coldly. Now, you, are you willing to start over in a new world, a new existence, so as to escape their watchful eye? "I have to give up my strength?..." Alan was shocked, he had only had this power for a week but it was already something he would hate to let go off, he loved this awe-inspiring power, he loved the fear it instilled in people. He had also worked hard for it, he risked his life over and over to be here... But if it was all a lie... "I accept! I give up everything for the chance to be out of their control!" Alan bellowed with conviction, no longer would he allow the ones who deemed him unworthy of a good life to be in control, he was going to kill the gods... Good, good, good. Anomaly spoke three times almost as if it was subconscious. Now accept a sliver of my soul, it will bind with yours and become one, it will allow me to give guidance to you and one day when you become powerful enough it will bring you to me. Now let go of your power, you will know how once you''ve tried. Because that which is a lie will always be cast down eventually. Then, in a whisper almost to himself rather than Alan, he spoke again. I wish I''d learned that sooner rather than later. Not asking the corpse what it was talking about, and probably for the best, Alan started to try to mentally let go. It was difficult. And painful. Think of letting go of one of your arms. Think of killing a pet dog that brought you a fortune in prize money and was your best friend. It was like that. Alan grit his teeth and thought of the power as a parasitic monster, something that had to die, something that would be in his way, something that would hurt him. He gave it the faces of the people who had hurt him. He then looked back at the power he had gained and was disgusted by it. He HATED it. As he was changing the way he saw his powers, he found them easier and easier to let go of until they just fell away, all those gifts he had stolen: GONE.
Notification: ALL POWERS LOST!!!
Notification: Information gained, All previous powers were deceptions made by the god of time, Imet, and the goddess of dreams, Drea.
Notification: Second Scale of [The Ouroboros] unlocked! Gained: [True Gamer System]
Hahaha! Right on schedule! Anomaly laughed as he looked at the [True Gamer System] on the pop-up window in front of Alan. Well, now I have to warn you, fusing with my soul will kill you, but luckily the Ouroboros curse didn''t let me down and now you have a way out, the revive function. This will give you a choice on where to revive, tell it where Anomaly wants. Then just sit back, become a badass, slay some gods and rescue me. Have fun kid. Before Alan could say anything, a tiny emerald green whisp shot out from the chest of the corpse, and at speeds faster than the eye could see (or Alan could yell wait) it hit the psychopathic teenager right in the chest. As Alan''s vision went black, he could have sworn he heard a laughing voice say.Good luck, Successor of the Ouroboros. Revival ¡°Ugh¡ Remind me not to die again¡¡± Alan said groggily to no one in particular as he woke up slowly. It¡¯s nice to see that with a twenty-four-hour deadline you can still sleep. Oh and yes, the deadline was a joke, see, because like, you¡¯re dead. Hehehe¡ A familiar voice said. Sitting bolt upright, Alan looked around dreading what he thought might be the case. Sure enough, his worst fear was realized: Scary ghost Anomalous dude. However, there was a particularly strange¡. Umm¡ problem¡ He looked like a Boo from Mario Bros. What¡¯s so funny? Anomalous inquired. ¡°Well...Umm¡ You look terrifying¡± Alan lied, not willing to tell the truth and get zapped into the pits of hell, or some other terrifying fate that comes from insulting someone who is strong enough to make gods and devils piss their pants in fear. Damn right I am. Was the smug reply from the two-foot-tall round ball of horrifying cuteness. Ignoring that utterly strange comment, Alan looked around, trying to figure out where he was. ¡°It¡¯s nice to see you awake user, the system was about to try the revival process again to assure there was no malfunctions with the previously deemed appropriate measures taken.¡± A cold yet not cruel metallic sounding female voice spoke suddenly. ¡°Who are you?¡± Alan asked in surprise, not seeing anyone in this white space he seemed to be floating in. ¡°I am the user¡¯s personal interface for the [True Gamer System]¡± The voice responded. ¡°And as the interface, personal customization is in order.¡± ¡°Personal customization?¡± Alan questioned. ¡°Yes, Since you are the only user who can access this ability as of now, a password is not required but recommended, among various other things.¡± The interface answered. The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. Alan thought for a moment before he chuckled like a middle schooler that heard a dirty joke. ¡°Make the password, ThisDick.¡± Before Alan could notice his mistake, the interface replied with. ¡°Sorry, ThisDick is too short.¡± ¡°FUCK I FORGOT THAT DAMN JOKE!!!!¡± Alan cursed before replying with an overly wordy comeback. ¡°ThisDickIsTooHugeToBeTooShortForAPassword.¡± (Author note: I couldn¡¯t think of a better immature joke here, if you have any better ones don¡¯t be afraid to hurt my feelings by commenting on them lol) However even as he was sitting there in triumph, the interface lady, who he already decided to call Ms. Assholery of Bitchdom, decided to dump a bucket of ice water on his head, literally. ¡°PFFFFTTTT WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!?!?!¡± Alan shouted in outrage as he tried to shake off the freezing water. ¡°Well, immaturity needs to be stomped out immediately upon sight to teach kids the proper way to act in public, when such instances occur.¡± Alan was getting pissed, he refused to have his life dictated for him, that included semi-omnipresent game systems. This. Means. War. ¡°OK! so you want me to change the password?¡± Alan asked as he geared up for war. ¡°Yes please do¡± Was the reply. ¡°Fine then.¡± He proceeded to mentally type in: ¡®MOTORBOATTHEMTITTIES!¡¯ SPLASH! Another magically appearing water bucket was dumped unceremoniously on Alan¡¯s head. ¡®MyAnacondaIsMighty!¡¯ SPLASH! ¡®FISTINGISN¡¯TFUN.¡¯ ¡®Mrs.AssholeryOfBitchdomIsABitch.¡¯ SPLASH! ¡®LOVEMYBUTT!¡¯ SPLASH! BANG! This time the heavy metal bucket was dumped on his head as well. Mrs. Assholery of Bitchdom meant business. As soon as the near concussion from the violent temper of Ms. Assholery of Bitchdom wore off, he gave in and just put in his birth date as the password. Ding! The lovely sound of surrender rang out bitter-sweetly upon Alan¡¯s ears. ¡°Password accepted, would you like to proceed with the revival function?¡± ¡°YES PLEASE!¡± Alan shouted out in joy. ¡°Then please wait a moment, you will be transferred to the Character Customization Window to choose your settings.¡± Alan floated in that white realm of nothingness until he saw a red ten counting down appear out of thin air. 10...9...8¡ I wonder if they have pizza where we are reviving¡ 7...6...5¡ Or if they have good food at all... 4...3...2...1¡ Then Alan blacked out. ________________________________________________________________________ ¡°Nonono¡¡± Lize muttered to herself as she hid next to the secret escape door, begging whatever deity might be listening to move the Wyvern brigade member, that was stalking near the door, away from the room so that she could open the rusty trap door and escape. She and the entire noble family she had been staying with were caught completely unprepared by the sudden sneak attack in the middle of the night. She was the only survivor, not like it would stay that way if she couldn¡¯t escape though. I have to get out of here... The Escape LIZETTE¡¯S POV: Tick, tock, tick, tock. The time past second by second as the cold rhythmic footsteps continued to pound and creak across the old wood floor of this ancient mansion. Almost as if planned, the footsteps confused and frightened Lize, even with her extensive history of near-death escapes. All right, calm down Lize, you have survived worse, worse¡ Lize spoke mentally to herself. However, it was only giving a pep rally to a dying cause. Like trying to light burnt ashes. Lize, who was trying to focus on anything other than the fear growing like maggots and the ever-present threat of death, pressed her delicate hand on the wooden wall within the secret compartment where she was hiding. Cold. Smooth. Firm. She tried to find the three words that would best describe it, A method of calming down. However, with the ever-looming presence of death, she could barely focus on keeping her breathing down let alone find any sense of peace or calm. Move faster you asshole¡ Lize cursed to herself. I am going to go insane if you don¡¯t move faster! But it was no use cursing them, they were trained for this. See, The Wyvern Brigade was a top-tier insurgency prevention unit. Fully armed with professionally trained soldiers and tier four weapons. Their namesake, the wyverns, were terrifying rank 6 magic beasts, having the bloodline of dragons is truly a broken thing. Trained in suppressive maneuvers and tactical skills, they were a force to be reckoned with. It was almost certain they had gassed the house with a mood changing drug to make the survivors panic and reveal their locations. They were a terror for all who opposed the crown prince. When the crown prince ascended to the throne, he came in with an iron fist, sending out his soldiers immediately to crush any who opposed him, even those who slightly disliked him were not spared. In his paranoid fear of his brothers overthrowing him, he had them all assassinated too.If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. This included the noble family that Lizette was staying with at the time. They are all dead¡ Richard and Elaine¡ Their kids and servants... The Brigade even murdered the four-year-old Gabriela¡ Lize started to tear up before forcefully forgetting those thoughts. Do not think about it Lize!!! Focus on escaping alive then cry!!! I Can¡¯t die yet¡ As she was having an intensely emotional talk with herself, barely staying still under the effects of the mood-altering gas, she heard the footsteps of the Wyvern Brigade member stomp out of the room and into the hallway, moving on to the next room. Finally!!! Thank the gods!!! Lize nearly screamed in happiness but was able to barely contain it. As quickly and quietly she pulled up the trap door and jumped inside. Looking around, it was a dark and damp circle shaped tunnel, almost exactly like a miner¡¯s tunnel with the wooden supports and the poorly carved path of stone. Dashing along it, she came to the exit about a minute later to her great relief. Peeking out from behind the bush she looked left and right before dashing out, sprinting towards the gardener''s shed. Why the gardener¡¯s shed? Well because her noble family had a secret, randomized teleportation magic formation. Randomized to be untraceable obviously. While she was dashing across the lawn to the shed, she saw seven wyverns stationed out by the front of the house, alert and ready to catch any who try to escape. Oh shit. She screamed mentally, terrified that they would notice her, and almost as if staged, all the wyverns turn their head and spot Lize. ROAR!!! The thunderous cry of seven wyverns nearly sent her tumbling as the shock wave from their mighty voices crashed down upon the barren expanse of the lawn. Barely managing to keep her footing she ran faster than she had ever in her life as she sprinted headlong towards the gardener¡¯s shed. But in a moment of extreme unluckiness, she trips and stumbles. As she stumbles, she looks behind her and sees a sight that could scare your soul out of your body. Seven wyverns madly flying towards her from a thousand feet away, closing the distance fast. 1,000¡ 900¡ 800¡ It was terrifying. Like a rabbit seeing the hounds closing in. Mustering all the strength she could find she sprints the last ten meters and yanks open the rusty door, now the scaly fire-breathing monsters are only 5 hundred feet away. Frantically throwing pots down and pushing away gardening tools she uncovers the dusty portal in the back of the room. Hearing the ever nearing thunderous, ground-shaking wing thrusts getting ever nearer she hurriedly sits on the magical formation and speaks the incantation as she watches from the cracked door the group of wyverns flying closer, closer, closer. 300¡ 200¡ 100¡ It was right as they were about to crash into the gardener¡¯s shed that a flash of brilliant blue lit up the interior and Lizette disappeared, hoping for the randomized teleport to be anywhere other than this, and she got her wish¡ Much to her dismay...
