Cyan Mon has also used one of those accounts in the past, so she knew how safe it was, and how joyful the world of Oban was, nevertheless, she could help but to had an uneasy feeling for her precious daughter. Noticing that his mother still hold some doubts Cyan tried to push it forward. Chapter 01: The Caf茅 Chapter 01: The Caf¨¦ It was little over 6 pm and the sun was already set, it was the day before Christmas, one of the busiest time of year, and the amount of people in the streets reflect it. The streets were bustling with people coming and going, many holding onto big presents and shopping bags as they crossed each other creating dance in conjunction with the decoration lights and the Christmas music. Cynthia could not help but to have her eyes sparkling each time they crossed a stores full of candies and Cyan could not help but to waste some time as something new dragged the attention of the little Cynthia, so the trip to the Caf¨¦ that should had only taken 10 minutes of walking took a whole 20 minute, nevertheless, Cyan still enjoyed the time he spent with his little sister, as it was fun to watch all her different reactions over the Christmas decorations and candies. Cyan took the opportunity to win some big brother points and he brought Cynthia ice cream and took some pictures with his phone and send it to his mother, nevertheless he tried to not waste too much time as the main attraction for today was in the World of Oban. In a virtual reality game, all the decorations are ten times bigger and more exuberant that the ones you could find in the real world, only they imagination and the skills of the programmers was the limiting factor; for example in this City snow didn¡¯t fall at all, but in Oban, well, it was a completely different story. Finally they arrived at The Caf¨¦, at this time it was full of couples and families that would stop here to drink something before continuing their Christmas shopping streak, the ambient inside was very chaotic but still, it was also full of Christmas spirt. Cynthia could not help but to look all around, as the ambient inside the Caf¨¦ was very animated, to the energetic Cynthia it was something she never had seen before, as she turned to the see the workers coming and going with plats full of drinks for everyone, while doing a balancing miracle with their hands, she could not help but to clap when they finally arrived to the destination without dropping anything. As the moved around the crow, a young female voice was heard behind them. Nevertheless, the success Oban was indisputable and it has taken over the world like a storm, but the capsules where still too expensive for individuals alone, even then, more and more people wanted to play the game every day, creating a new boom of Cafes that brought the capsules and start renting them, and unlike the rest of stores, The Caf¨¦ never closed, these capsules were working 24/7 with little staff support, and the list of reservation for using one of those capsules was full for months to no end. As soon as Cyan and Cynthia entered the floor a male worker has spotted them, and went next to them. [Male Worker]: ¡°I am sorry sir but we are already full capacity today, if you want to can check out reservation waiting list¡± [Cyan]: ¡°It¡¯s ok, I have a reservation for capsules 09 and 10, from 7:10pm to 9:10pm¡± [Male Worker]: ¡°Can I have your reservation ticket¡± [Cyan]: ¡°Yes, here you go¡± The Caf¨¦ worker scanned the ticket and saw everything was alright, so it gave the two security cards to Cyan. [Male Worker]: ¡°There are still a few minutes before you appointment time, while you wait, Is this your first time entering Oban Sir? Can I interest you in a setup guide for beginners?¡± It has only being 5 years since Oban was release to the world, but a lot of people still didn¡¯t knew how to setup their accounts or how even play the game, and new players would join every day, the Caf¨¦ also made money of this too, it was very usual to be offered those services every time Cyan entered the Caf¨¦, from beginner to expert level guides. Cynthia could not help but to feel amazed as she flied to all those places that she had never being before or didn¡¯t even knew it existed in the first place. The intro only lasted for 10 minutes or so, but for her those 10 minutes where full of beauty and magic in itself, after the intro ended, she was floating in space with a planet below her. Then a new messaged appeared in from of her, as she started to descend to the planet from space like a falling star. After the messaged disappeared a blinding light covered over Cynthia vision, and after that, she found herself in the middle of Beginner Village, a popular starting town, it was snowing and a deep layer of snow was covering all palaces, Christmas lights where put up everywhere, and jingle music could be heard. A new screen appeared in front of Cynthia [Welcome to Oban] [As a non-player nothing in this world can hurt you, but you can still talk and interact with the world around you] [Christmas events for Players List: ¡­] [Christmas events for Non-Players List: ¡­] Cynthia didn¡¯t pay any attention to the screens and just closed them, Cyan had already told her to not mess out with the settings, and just patiently wait for him, she even had left her avatar to look exactly the same as her because setting a new one would take too long and she was fine looking as herself. But nothing of that matters to her right now, because she was busy being amazed how real everything was, the snow, the texture and temperature, the ground under her feet¡¯s, the clothes she was wearing, the wind in her face and even the smell of the snow and the town, everything was so real that she thought she was in another world more than in a virtual one. Cynthia didn¡¯t waste any time as she started to play with the most fascinating thing of all, snow, it something she had only read in books and watched over the television, in this virtual world a lot of people would do weird things when they first entered this world, playing around with snow was something everyone would more than once. After Cynthia had enough playing around with the snow, she started to look around and soon realized she has forgot contacting her brother as soon as possible, just as she was thinking this, a ring was heard and a new screen appeared in front of her. [Incoming call: Cyan] [Accept: Yes/No] [Cynthia]: ¡°Accept call¡± Like her, Cyan had used his real name as his name in the game. [Cyan]: ¡°Cynthia where are you¡± Looking around Cynthia could see a big signboard that said ¡°West plaza¡± [Cynthia]: ¡°Big brother, I am in the West plaza¡± [Cyan]: ¡°Alright, I am in the North Plaza, stay there, I will get there in a moment, wait me near the water fountain¡± [Cynthia]: ¡°Wait brother¡­.¡± [Call ended] Before she could said anything else Cyan ended the call [Cynthia]: ¡°what water fountain¡­¡± Chapter 03: Ice Sculpture Chapter 03: Ice Sculpture After ending the call with her brother, Cynthia looked for a fountain around the plaza, but she could not find it no matter how hard she looked for it, after going around the plaza a few times, Cynthia stopped in front of a huge ice sculpture that was being carved in the middle of the plaza by a middle age man. The man soon took notice that Cynthia was watching over his work, and so he could help to stop working and ask for her opinion. [Unknown]: ¡°What you said little lady do you like?¡± Cynthia nodded [Cynthia]: ¡°I think it is amazing mister, I like very much¡± The middle age man could only laugh in delight after his work being praised. [Unknown]: ¡°I am glad that you like it little lady, but isn''t finished just yet¡± [Cynthia]: ¡°It is not finished yet?¡± [Unknown]: ¡°Oh no, there is one last touch it needs to be finished, I tell you what, why don¡¯t you come back later and see it when it is done, I am sure you would like it even more¡± [Cynthia]: ¡°Ok but I have to ask big brother first¡±. She could recognized Cyan immediately, as his avatar was exactly the same as him in the real world, 1.65 tall, white skin, black eyes and messy black hair, and the same face. It hasn''t been long but Cynthia was already starting to miss her only big brother in the whole world, so she gave him a big hug. [Cyan]: ¡°Hey isn¡¯t been than long, so what you think, isn¡¯t Oban great?¡± [Cynthia]: ¡°This place is amazing, it really feels like another world¡± Cyan could only nod, this was the kind of reaction he was expecting from his little litter sister. Taking a good look over how Cyan was dressed Cynthia could not help but laugh a little, as her big brother was dressed like a mage in an anime television show he liked to watch. [Cynthia]: ¡°Big brother are you doing a cosplay¡± Looking around Cyan could understand why Cynthia would through that. No, the real reason she didn''t had any friend was because she has scared them away with her active imagination. He had thought that bringing her inside the game could her, as per doctor recommendation, a new study has shown that people that have some kind of mental problem, after they entered Oban they would improve very fast, because this world was controlled by a giant super computer that could check and improved the mental health of the human brain better than any human doctor could ever do, after all Oban was all imaginary, it was all in the brain. [Cyan]: ¡°Cynthia what I told about talking to strangers¡± [Cynthia]: ¡°¡­to never talk to them¡± [Cyan]: ¡°Be a good girl and don¡¯t talk to them or I won¡¯t take you to buy ice cream tomorrow¡± Taking Cynthia hand, Cyan could not help but start walking away from the water fountain. [Cyan]: ¡°Come, we will miss the fireworks if we don¡¯t hurry¡± [Cynthia]: ¡°I swear it was right there big brother, why you too don¡¯t believed in me?¡± [Cyan]: ¡°Yeah yeah, let¡¯s go¡± Cynthia wanted to cry, no matter how many times she swears she was telling the truth, no one seems to believe in her, all her friends called her a liar and all kinds of horrible names, and shun her away, not even her own mother or brother would believe in her. This rule of not talking to strangers was just one away to not show her own weirdness to everybody else to see, but she couldn¡¯t truly differentiate between ¡°real people¡± and ¡°fake people¡±, what are her other options? Not talk with anyone else ever? Wouldn¡¯t that be very lonely? Cynthia could not hold it anymore as she started to cry. [Cynthia]: ¡°uaaaaaa¡­¡­¡­¡± All her friends had stop talking to her and shun her away, what would happen if her mother and brother also stop talking to her as well and shun her away too, she could only barely hold in this loneliness thanks to the support of them, but what if that too ended. [Cyan]: ¡°Sigh" Realizing his mistake Cyan stopped in his tracks, as he turned around and crouched in front of Cynthia. [Cyan]: ¡°Come on little sister, don¡¯t cry, I really believe in you¡± [Cynthia]: ¡°sniff sniff you don¡¯t need lie, you don¡¯t believe in me, nobody do¡± [Cyan]: ¡°Of course I believe you little sister, I don¡¯t have a reason to lie at you¡± [Cynthia]: ¡°You really believe in me big brother? sniff¡± [Cyan]: ¡°I am your big brother so of course I do¡± [Cynthia]: ¡°But won¡¯t big brother stop talking to me and abandon me? sniff¡± [Cyan]: ¡°I would never do that little sister; how can I abandon such a cute angel like you¡± Cynthia smiled shyly [Cynthia]: ¡°Really big brother?¡± Cyan nodded his head. [Cyan]: ¡°had I ever lied to you?¡± Cynthia shook her head as she stopped crying. Chapter 04 Fireworks Chapter 04 Fireworks [Cyan]: ¡°Now, let''s get going, [Portal Open]¡± A blue portal appeared in front of them, this was a cash item that Cyan has prepared in advanced, it wasn¡¯t very expensive, and it could take you almost anywhere, but you could not use it inside dungeons, nevertheless it was very handy item to have. Cyan entered the [Portal] first followed by Cynthia. Cynthia didn¡¯t feel anything strange as she crossed the portal, appearing through the other side, now the scenery has completely change from the one the one before. Beginner village was gone, and in exchange a night sky full of beautiful shining stars was presented in front of Cynthia, there were even two bright moons in the sky, one red and one blue. The stars were decorating the night sky like a Christmas tree, and it was something truly wonderful for Cynthia as she had never seen this kind of thing before in her short life. While Cynthia was hypnotized by the change in scenery a group of people had come to welcome them. [Unknown]: ¡°Cyan you came just in time¡± [Cyan]: ¡°Guild leader, thank you again for reserving this place, I know it should had being very expensive. [Guild Leader]: ¡°Don¡¯t mention it, my father works for the company that develops the Oban capsules so I can get pretty good discounts, now is this your little sister?¡± [Cyan]: ¡°That¡¯s right, let me introduced her, this is Cynthia¡± [Everyone]: ¡°Welcome to Oban Cynthia¡± [Cynthia]: ¡°Thanks all of you for having me today¡± Cynthia bowed to the crow.
