《Blade of Death》 Prologue - Back to the Beginning ¡®Well, seems like it¡¯s my time¡ Who would¡¯ve thought, my final moments are drenched in blood. Guess it was appropriate, what they named me¡¡¯ A lone man could be seen standing in a large underground cavern. From afar, it could be seen that he was wearing crimson armour. Looking closely, multiple arrows and daggers were sticking out of his body, his left hand was missing, the wound cauterised. Large gashes were visible on his chest, blood dripping from the wounds, but still he stood, a statue, a legend, a dying man in his final moments. Strewn all around him were bodies, some of which looked human, but many more which were not. Beastkin, elves, dwarves, demons, orcs and more. Out of this multitude of bodies, not a single one still lived. Their bodies all that remained of their stories. Stories ended by that lone man. ¡®It seems like I was wrong to be so trusting, to obey orders and not ask many questions, to repay the help they gave me, only for them to kill me. I guess it¡¯s obvious that something like this would happen since I was a bit too strong in the end, and my popularity did rival that of the King.¡¯ He looked around at the bodies he had left lying there. His expression did not even change in the face of the massacre that he performed. ¡®Well let¡¯s take one last look at my status then. Status.¡¯

¡®Hmm, I clawed myself up in this world. Given a bad profession, no family background, and a way too gullible personality. So many missed opportunities, but then again that¡¯s why my luck is only 2.¡¯ ¡®Wait, why do I still have a tamed beast left in my space, I thought all of them were killed earlier¡ Well, let¡¯s take a look, shall we.¡¯ A rip in space suddenly appears in front of the man, Kal, and an egg rolls out. It had the same general shape as a chicken¡¯s egg but that was where the similarities end. With a size of around a meter at the longest and looked more like a crimson gemstone with blue swirling veins running over the surface, it weirdly fit in with the massacre surrounding it. Bending down, he lifts it up almost effortlessly. ¡®Ah, I remember this. This was with me when I first arrived on this world, I spent of my Karmic points for this, but it never hatched, and I guess, now, it never will. Well then old friend, my health has reached 10 and it seems like I only have a few moments left on this world. Well onto new things, it¡¯s probably not going to be the same as the last time I died.¡¯ As his eyes started to fade, you could still sense the power behind the gaze, the eyes of a predator, unwilling, even in death to be remembered as something else. His heart beat its last and as it did, the egg, that for the last 80 years had done nothing, started to glow with a colour that can only be described as bloody. It then started to fade as the egg itself seemed to mesh into his body, the still heart beats once more, sending the blood, now infused with the egg through the body for the final time. The legend of the Blood Reaper on the world of Aloda had to come to its end.
Feeling the heat of the sun on his face, Kal regained consciousness. Waking, he takes a second to collect himself, after all, there should be no sun where he was going. Taking a look at his body, he can see that he¡¯s not wearing his armour. He feels weak, much weaker than he did even when dying, almost as if his body wasn¡¯t the trained body of the man know by all as the Blood Reaper. Taking a moment to gaze at the sky he realises the sun he¡¯s looking at is not that of Aloda, the world he called home for the past 80 years, but a sun that he had almost forgotten, the sun of his home world. The sun on Earth. ¡®Impossible!¡¯ He thought, ¡®After all, the Earth was destroyed and all of humanity perished. That was why I ended up in Aloda in the first place.¡¯ Further scrutinising his surroundings, he realises that he recognises his surroundings. Piecing together the clues, ¡®Untrained body, small amounts of mana in the air, the park I was in when the Earth was destroyed¡¡¯ Checking his phone, he realised that yes, he had been transported to the past when he died. ¡®If I remember correctly, the asteroid, travelling at the same speed as the oh-my-god particle, makes contact in a few minutes. Guess I¡¯ll erect a shield with some of that mana that I can sense in the atmosphere. I was born here, and now I¡¯ll watch as she perishes.¡¯ Without thinking much about the fact he could use magic before his reincarnation, Kal quickly draws a circle around himself with his finger while drawing in the mana he can feel in the atmosphere. After inscribing runes straight into the air, a bubble suddenly surrounds him then fades until it is no longer visible. ¡®There, I will probably be safe for a second longer than the rest of the life on Earth. Well, that should make me the last human on Earth in a few minutes.¡¯ Following this, Kal proceeded to sit down and just stare at the sky. After all, it was almost the end of the world. A few minutes later, the asteroid entered the Earth¡¯s atmosphere and within a few milliseconds had made impact and passed right the way through the planet, causing the planet to implode, killing every living being almost instantaneously. All except Kal, his shield held for about half a second, thus making him the final survivor before it broke, and he perished as well. Chapter 1 - Lets Prepare ¡®Ouch.¡¯ A groan of pain could be heard as Kal slowly regained consciousness. ¡®Well that gave me a headache. I guess protecting yourself from a world ending, apocalyptic event wasn¡¯t my best idea.¡¯ Looking around his surroundings, he could see a large room with a bookshelf on one wall, a bed, a desk, a chair, and a large digital panel. The walls were white, and the room and its contents looked completely unused. Also, there was a door in the wall that Kal knew led into a small bathroom. In general, the room looked like a slightly larger version of a one person room that can be found on university campuses around the world (like the image in this link https://www.spareroom.co.uk/flatshare/west_midlands/birmingham_city_centre/6400135). Even though waking up in an unknown room would normally shock or surprise someone, Kal had already lived through all of this once so his reaction was very different to that he had the first time around. Instead of looking round and panicking over what happened, all his attention was focused on the digital panel.

The numbers shown were ticking down with it reducing by around 500 each second. Therefore, it should take Kal almost 184 days to get to first place in the queue. After seeing this, a smile spread across his face. ¡®Seems like I was the final human on Earth. This means that I can now properly prepare myself for the future. Let¡¯s get some plans done then.¡¯ ¡®Hmm, thinking about it, last time, I was in the third billion of people to die and got transferred to Aloda just as everyone there was trying to get hold of us otherworlders. That¡¯s how that King managed to find me and help ¡°save my life¡±, thinking back on that, that whole thing was quite possibly staged. I mean what are the chances of bandits attacking a man in the middle of a forest, just for the King and entourage to come along and save his life. I really was na?ve and gullible back then. Anyway, time to get started with what I need to get done in these 184 days.¡¯ After this slight monologue, Kal proceeded to walk over to the bookshelf that held around 50 books and pulled the first one down. The hardback book was called ¡®The World of Aloda¡¯. Opening the book, Kal started to read.
The world of Aloda is a world of magic and mystery. A world where a level system is in place. Even though ones¡¯ level is not a perfect indicator of ones¡¯ power, the mixture of ones¡¯ stat points and skills will give a general indicator of the persons power. It is not unheard of for those with lower stats to win though, as combat experience is unquantified and cannot be truly shown by the status. To the best of my knowledge, I have only heard of the first four continents and if there are more, they can only be found by becoming powerful enough to travel there. The first four continents are named as the following: Kantto, the first; Heonn, the second; Unovaa, the third; and Sinno, the fourth. Everyone who is transported to the world (a pretty common occurrence on Aloda) will arrive on Kantto first. Kanto is for those whose stats are between 1 and 200 on average for two of your major stats (for more information on stats, read ¡®The Status Screen and What it Means¡¯). Between 200 and 500 is for Heonn and 500 to 1000 is for Unovaa. An average of above 1000 are for the residents of Sinno. Obviously, those with stats that are higher and lower than this can be found in the continents, but those are generally the residents of Aloda and not the adventurers or otherworlders for which this book has been written. Just remember to follow this general trend as it will allow you to survive in the wild as a human with average stats of 10 would not survive more than 15 minutes in Heonn where even the lowest of monsters can have stats in late 100s. . . .
Kal finished reading the book a few hours later and as soon as he finished reading the book, he could feel all the information that he just read being embedded into his brain. All of a sudden, the following message appeared.
Status screen has now been enabled.
¡®Finally, now I can start to train my body as well. Let¡¯s get my stats as high as possible before it¡¯s time to be sent to Aloda. Anyway, time to check my status. Status.¡¯

The Final Survivor
You were the last living creature on your planet, even if it was just momentarily. Luck can never fall below 100.
¡®Crap, those two titles are overpowered. And I guess the progenitor title explains why my race has changed from human to a mix. And the 25% experience gain is the highest I¡¯ve heard of from a single title. No time to waste, time to train.¡¯ After looking at the changes for a further minute, Kal started to move again. This time, he went to the middle of the room where there was an open space and he started to do push ups and sit ups in sets of 20. ¡®This body is so weak and the amount of fat that I currently have is way too high. Guess it¡¯s time to ask for a gym.¡¯ Going over to the desk, Kal grabs a plain piece of paper and a pen and proceeds to write: Large gym with a full collection of weights, machines, punch bags, running track and a swimming pool. A sudden flash of light and a second door appears in the wall. Walking through this door, Kal enters a large gym area that has everything that he has requested. ¡®Time to work out for real!¡¯ Two hours later Kal re-enters his bedroom and picks up another book to read. This one being ¡®The Status Screen and What it Means¡¯.
The status is a numerical representation of the abilities choices and achievements that an individual has made. The different stats effect different things in your body. ¡ Strength represents the amount of power that can be outfit by a person. On average, one point in strength is a further 10kg that can be lifted by the individual. The higher the strength, the harder a person can hit (technique also plays a part). Agility represents the explosive power in your body. It effects the speed with which you can move and to a lesser extent, the flexibility and dexterity of the individual. Vitality represents the toughness of the individual and their survivability when taking damage. It directly effects the health with the health being 10*vitality. Wisdom represents the knowledge that the individual can truly understand and effects the mana regeneration rate, with the base mana regen being 0.5*wisdom per minute. Intelligence represents the total knowledge that the individual has. It directly effects the size of the individual¡¯s mana pool also depends on this stat with the total mana being 10*intelligence. Charisma represents the ability of the individual to communicate with others and how liked and respected they will be with strangers. It also effects the number of tamed beasts that the user may have. Luck represents the likelihood of a fortuitous event occurring to the individual or the chances of higher quality loot or more coins dropping from monster kills or dungeon runs. ¡ Profession is the chosen job that the individual choses and it determines the amount of set stats that are increased per level. Some professions only give one or two set stat increases while the rarer and better professions can give us many as 20. It also determines the amount of free attribute points received every two levels. ¡ Titles are individual achievements that give certain effects. The rarest of titles can give massive boosts that will be very advantageous in the future. The active title is the title that can be made visible when the individual is appraised, and this can be used to intimidate or prove one¡¯s identity in the world of Aloda. ¡ Free attribute points are given every two levels and can be placed in any of strength, Agility, Vitality, Wisdom and Intelligence. It may not be added to charisma or to luck. ¡ Skills are certain upgradable abilities that can be learned from repeating a certain action or from skill books. The skills have different tiers between 1 and 9, with one being the lowest and 9 being the highest. The higher the tier the rarer the skill and the harder it is to upgrade. ¡
Finishing the book, once again the information was embedded into his brain. Following this, Kal started to repeat his previous steps, he would go work out, read, work out, and read as the queue position counter kept on counting down.
180 days later ¡®It¡¯s almost time to meet the gods again. Will it still be the same three gods this time or will it be others. Well, only one way to find out, but first let¡¯s check my status again and then get two days of proper rest. Status¡¯

¡®It¡¯s just a shame that skills cannot be gained or trained in this space but when I start using them on Aloda they should scale up with my proficiencies. Personally, I didn¡¯t expect that reading all the books would give me a title and that it would increase my wisdom and intelligence by so much. Anyway, my new titles are pretty cool.¡¯
Devourer of Books
Due to having read all the available books in the God space you have gained this title. From now on you only need to touch a book and will the knowledge to enter you for you to know everything written in it. Be warned, doing this, and not reading the books completely manually will mean that reading books will let you gain intelligence and wisdom at a slower rate.
Limits, What Are They?
You have broken the limits for your race at level 1. Your stats are much higher than they should be. You have undergone a torturous training regimen for this to happen. This title will give you an extra 2 free attribute points every two levels.
¡®Ahahahahaha¡ Well, these titles will help me become OP, but now it¡¯s time for some sleep.¡¯
While Kal slept, the queue position counter kept counting down until it reached 10,000 and a glowing red door appeared in the room. Waking up due to the sudden light, Kal got up, did his business in the bathroom, and took one last look at the room in which he¡¯d spent the last 183 days. As the counter hit 1, the door turned green and Kal walked through it with no hesitation. It was time to face the gods and see what they had in store for him this time. Chapter 2 - Meeting the Gods Kal entered a massive semi-circular audience room. Where he entered was equidistant from the edges, giving him a good view of the room. Around the edges of the room were different thrones. Each one made of different materials and having different images inscribed on them. The most striking ones were the three thrones in the middle, one made of what looked like lightning, with flashes moving over its surface. One of water, where some parts had gentle waves and others, violent hurricanes. The third chair, on the other hand, was made from what looked like a mixture of human bones and screaming spirits trying to escape from between the bones. Looking around Kal could see that all the thrones were occupied, unlike the last time he was here, when only one of the main three thrones and two of the smaller thrones had gods seated on them. ¡®Seems like they decided to all be here to give me my choices. I¡¯m guessing this is because I¡¯m the last person who must go through thisprocess.I never did get to see the full Earthen Trifecta last time did I, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. It¡¯s the same as last time though, all their features are blurred like the power that they unconsciously give out stops me from being able to see them. At least this time, my intelligence and ability are high enough to be able to distinguish gender before they speak. As Hades is here, I¡¯m guessing that Thanatos will be somewhere around, let¡¯s see if I¡¯ll meet him again. I mean my name didn¡¯t change, meaning I can still get the perks which it gives me.¡¯ Kal then walked a few steps forward where there was a single pillar, that reached up to around the middle of his stomach in height. Once he arrived in front of it he stopped and waited. Looking directly at Kal, Zeus, the current leader of the Earthen council, smiled and started to speak. ¡®I see that you have read all the books that were present in the God space. This means that I should be able to skip a lot of the unnecessary things that I have had to explain to the others, well, that is if you believed all of it?¡¯ Seeing Kal give him a nod, Zeus continued. ¡®As you have probably surmised, we are the Earthen council that oversee Earth. Or, shall I say, we oversaw Earth. Due to certain circumstances, there was an unavoidable collision between the Earth and an object that cannot be stopped. This is what destroyed the Earth and even as we knew that this would happen, we could do nothing to change the outcome as some things are fated, and even the gods have no say when fate gets involved. I can see from your eyes that you have probably recognised who I am and thus probably want to ask about why there are gods of fate, if fate cannot be changed, right? I¡¯ll let my daughter, Athena, explain that to you.¡¯ From the throne 4 seats to Zeus¡¯ left, a woman with a sharp voice started to speak. ¡®The gods of fate amongst us only have control over the events that happen to the sentient beings on the world that we are responsible for. Therefore, they can control the chances of a certain volcano exploding in a certain period, but they have no control over the fact that the volcano will eventually erupt. There is an overriding fate that has been decided by the universe itself, but that overriding fate does not affect any sentient beings directly and only indirectly. This means that an individual can never truly be bound by fate but can change the outcome due to having free choice. Obviously, unless you could move from the Earth to another habitable planet before the collision, you would not be able to survive. Because of this, we will give you the following choices.¡¯ After saying such, Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon spoke. ¡®You may be transferred into the world of Aloda as you are, with certain perks that you will be able to choose depending on the Karma that your soul contains.¡¯ ¨C Zeus ¡®You may enter the cycle of true re-incarnation where you will enter my lands and walk the path of any dead soul. Even I can¡¯t tell you what world and to who you will be born.¡¯ ¨C Hades ¡®You may choose to be born into Aloda with your memories wiped clean, but your destiny will be entirely up to you. Your Karma will decide your birth place and your parents.¡¯ ¨C Poseidon After saying the following, Zeus carried on speaking. ¡®This choice is given to all the humans on your planet that perished due to the collision. Many of the older humans have chosen to be reincarnated or to be born into Aloda and we have tried to keep families together as much as possible. Obviously, this does not affect an orphan such as yourself but do take into account that being born into the world could give you a major advantage as you will have the support of a family behind you, anyway, take a moment and feel free to make your choice.¡¯ Pausing for just a second, Kal responded in a strong voice. ¡®I would like to be transferred as I am, with perks chosen using my Karma.¡¯ ¡®Not unexpected while looking at your age. This wasn¡¯t quite what we were expecting when this first occurred. We expected the final survivor to be one of those old monsters on Earth who¡¯ve been practicing their magic or, as Thanatos said, a cockroach. Though I have no clue why those idiots hace been practicing so hard with the miniscule amounts of mana available there, seeing as the Earth had no active mana veins.¡¯ ¡®There were magic users on Earth?¡¯ ¨C Kal ¡®Yes, indeed. There are a few families on Earth who were born with the ability to feel the mana in the air. They were a lot of the rulers you hear about when you study the history of your planet. A certain favourite of mine was Genghis Khan. Boy, did he send a lot of souls into the netherrealms. Though Julius Caesar wasn¡¯t half bad either.¡¯ ¨C Hades Following this, the gods could see Kal standing there in shock. Shaking his head, Kal managed to rein in his thoughts and inquired about how to go about the process of choosing perks using his Karma. ¡®I know what I¡¯m supposed to do but seeing as no-one has mentioned it so far, it seems like the gods don¡¯t know that I¡¯ve lived through all of this once all ready. I¡¯ll keep that knowledge hidden for now as there is no reason to bring it up.¡¯ ¡®So, to do that, just place your hand on the pillar next to you and you will be transported to a space that is outside our domain where you will be able to make your choices. Don¡¯t worry about time, as you have probably realised, time moves much faster in this room than outside, and the time in that space is faster still. If it were not for the fact that the only thing that can be done in that space is convert Karma to perks, it would be the perfect training environment. Anyway, once you''re ready, go ahead and place your hand down. Good luck youngster, and maybe we will see each other again someday.¡¯ After nodding in thanks, Kal placed his hand on the pillar and the gods could see his figure fade out of their realm. ¡®Well, he¡¯s an interesting one isn¡¯t he¡ I think we can expect great things from that child. It will be interesting to follow his story. Time for us to head back to our homes now.¡¯ Saying such Zeus started to fade from the chamber. The other gods followed him, all except for a single shadow who walked to the pillar which transported Kal away. ¡®Did you really think that no-one would notice that this isn¡¯t your first time? Well my boy, we¡¯ll have a chat sometime soon. I do so hope you¡¯re waiting for me.¡¯
In the other space, Kal was started to regain consciousness. ¡®I hate the fact that most of the transfers done in these dimensions knock you out. But then again, I guess that¡¯s a lot safer than being conscious when your perception of time starts to get blurry. Well, I should get assessed for Karma in a few seconds and then I can take a look at what¡¯s on offer for me this time round.¡¯ Suddenly a pillar of white light fell upon Kal. After a few seconds, it disappeared again and then a blue screen appeared in his vision.
You have been assessed to find out the amount of Karma that your soul contains. Due to the good you have done greatly outweighing the bad, your Karma is pretty high. Remember that any left-over Karma that you have after making your choices will be converted and added to your luck. Please note that other than titles, this is the only conventional way to improve your luck stat. Please think open store when you want to start purchasing your perks.

Orc Strength and vitality will increase by a further 3 per level but intelligence and wisdom will require three times as much effort to increase. 2,500 KP
Beast You must find and kill the beast you want to merge with in the wild. The more powerful the beast you kill, the better your stat upgrades will be. Be warned that you will gain tendencies found in the beasts themselves, aggressiveness, bloodlust, etc. Only works on beasts who are not divine grade. 0,000 KP
Demon You must activate your blood using the blood of a demon. Like the beasts, the strength of the blood used in this process will determine the stat bonuses and the demon type will influence your thought processes. Be warned, demons can be amongst the most brutal and bloodthirsty of all the inhabitants of Aloda, but they are a civilised race and killing them for their blood will get you ostracised and hunted by the race as a whole. 15,000 KP
¡®Well, beast or demon would be best. Thinking back on it, I remember that time where they found that unknown demon blood in some ruins. I can still remember the power coming of the blood before it was stolen by the Demon Empire. If I could get there first and use it to merge with my bloodline, it would work pretty well. The negative effects should also be mostly cancelled if I do what I had originally planned. Aha, the sudden windfall of points I¡¯ve been given really does shake up my plans a bit. Pills will produce temporary or permanent effects depending on the pill. They can either be beneficial or detrimental. Be careful not to mix them up, it could just end up killing you. Though the pain wouldn¡¯t be so bad if you were a masochist.
Skill Increase Will increase your skill level in a chosen skill by 10% for each one consumed. Can be stacked up to 5 times for each skill but efficiency falls by 2% per stack. 100 KP
Meditation Triples your mana regen for 2 hours after the consumption of this pill. 100 KP
Healing Triples your healing rate for 2 hours after consumption of this pill. 100 KP

Poison Insert mana to this pill, then apply through ingestion to poison the target. Be warned, the severity of the poison depends on the amount of mana inserted. A good way for a masochist to train their poison resistance. 150 KP

Tame Feed this to beast to be able to tame them. Be warned, they must fully consume it, but the pill is not something they will eat unless they want to or are forced. Using it in a trap will not work as it smells slightly repulsive to them. Does not require the skill, taming, or the level required in taming to use. 750 KP
Teleport Teleports you to a random place which you have been to before. Be warned, use this only as a last resort as you can end up somewhere even more dangerous than before. With the correct knowledge and preparations, you can teleport to a place of choice where you have been before. 1,000 KP

Luckily, as there are other Karmic shops in Aloda, saving some points can never go bad.¡¯ ¡®Well, I did want to buy another random beast for 100,000KP as my intuition tells me that the only reason I¡¯m still here is because I bought one last time. You may choose to buy a beast for any of these prices. The beast you get will depend on luck, but the rank will be higher if you spend more points. This means that if certain conditions are met, the beast will evolve into a higher rank.

Good luck this time Kal. Don¡¯t be as gullible and naive as last time. You forget that time doesn¡¯t affect me the same way as it does you, so I know everything ??. I don¡¯t know where in Aloda you¡¯ll end up this time, have fun Kal. Goodbye.
¡®Oh crap, Shop¡¡¯ Just as Kal realised the significance of the message in front of him, he started to feel the tell-tale signs of transportation. Without further warning, Shop had transported him to Aloda.
It was time for a legend to return to where it was first created. Chapter 3 - Welcome to Aloda Once again, Kal came back to consciousness after passing out when he was transported. ¡®Holy shit, the Shop is sentient! And it knows about my past. And when it says it knows everything, does it mean it knows the future? Yeah, I need to remember this for the next time I meet Shop. I guess it¡¯s a good thing that a few of the major dungeons on the other continents gives you access to it. I should be somewhere in Kantto right now. Actually, on that point, I might get to visit shop if I complete the unbeaten dungeon on Kantto. There were some rumours in the past that completing that dungeon automatically lets you travel to Kantto if some of the old texts are to be believed. I¡¯ll figure that out later, as well as where I am. Seeing as the immediate area seems safe, I¡¯ve got a few notifications I have to get through.¡¯
Title Received
King of the Hill
You have tamed beasts before receiving the skill, taming. That, along with your bloodline, makes you the King of the Hill Receive Taming skill at 25% skill proficiency
¡®Well, I never expected that to happen. And I¡¯m almost certain that has nothing to do with my inactive Demon bloodline. This means that whatever my unknown bloodline is, it¡¯s pretty damn tyrannical. The 25% bonus means that I can hit 45% using the skill increase pills. This will save me a hell of a lot of time. And give me more experience. Let¡¯s take a look at the skill then.¡¯
Taming ¨C 25%
You can tame beasts by using this skill on it. For this to work, it has to be mutually accepted, or the beast must be forced into it. For the beast to be forcefully tamed, it must not be sentient. The probability of the taming succeeding depends on the skill percentage of the taming skill. The percentage of experience lost to your beasts when fighting together also depends on the skill percentage.
Probability of taming succeeding: +20% (80% of proficiency) Experience loss to beast: -30% (-40%+(proficiency*40%))
¡®That¡¯s good. The 20% bonus for taming will be pretty useful and will get to 80% when my taming maxes out. Also, the experience that my beast gains out of my share is only 30% right now. It¡¯ll be good when it hits 0 as then my beast will basically be given free experience and I¡¯ll be getting all my experience. I should probably get the identify skill next.¡¯ After saying this, Kal started look around his surroundings. He was in a large clearing, around 1km across, that was surrounded by trees. Looking further, he could determine that he was almost definitely in a forest as he could see the tops of trees for miles on end, the tallest of which could easily be 2 to 3km high. Looking behind him he could see a pond that was around 50 metres at its widest. Past the forest, on the skyline, he could just make out the shape of 3 large mountains. A look of shock appeared on Kal¡¯s face. ¡®No way, I know my luck is now ridiculously high, but this? This is massive! Last time, there were no known otherworlders who were transported to here in the last 700 years. And the one who was ended up ruling this continent for almost 70 years. I¡¯m pretty sure that some of the kingdoms have people stationed to kill any otherworlders that come out of this place as otherwise, it doesn¡¯t make sense that people never come out of here. Either that, or the fact that the monsters in the middle of this forest are pretty high level for a newcomer probably kills them. For me though, this is fucking Christmas. Aha, lots of experience, and probably a few chests where I can get hold of some money. I¡¯ll need some when I get to civilisation.¡¯ Walking over to the lake, Kal took a moment to look at himself. He stood at around 6ft in height, lean but with defined muscles. His face was what would be considered attractive, with no blemishes or scars. Looking at him, he could be a typical university student that is seen anywhere in the world. That is, until you looked in his eyes. He had one eye where the iris and pupil were purely black, while the other iris was a dark crimson with the pupil being a dark blue that made you think of the depths of the ocean. They were the eyes of someone who had seen the world. One who had lived through atrocities that most couldn¡¯t imagine. His hair was currently cut pretty close. The sides and back were short and the top was long enough to fall till the middle of his forehead. From a distance, his hair could be mistaken for a dark brown, but on closer inspection, it could be seen that the individual hairs were a mixture of black, crimson and a very dark blue. The colours themselves seemed to match his eyes and added a sense of mystery that was portrayed when one looked at him. He was wearing a light armour that hugged his body like it had been made for him. The armour was currently black. It was something that he had chosen while he was with Shop. It looked pretty average but, with the injection of mana, he could control the colour. It was also at a grade which would protect him from a lot of the lower level monsters, thus increasing the level of the monsters he could take on. A very useful advantage seeing as he does not personally know the area too well. On his back, a sheathed sword could be seen. Once again, it looked very practical and not flashy. His left hip held a long dagger, around 30cm in length, that looked like it was a matching item with the sword. Around his waist, there was a nondescript belt. Even though it looked like the plainest part of his attire, it was, instead, potentially the most important thing he currently owned. It was a space belt that contained everything else that he had bought from Shop. Having spent 70,000 KP on it, it had 1,000 cubic metres of space in it, and it was also bound by blood to him. Meaning that it could not be opened by others unless they had his permission. Also, it made it possible for him to know the location of the belt at all times. These precautions meant that he could always keep anything in the belt safe. ¡®If the past is anything to go by, I would have got another 8 inches taller if I was purely human, now that I¡¯m a mix of human, demon and god knows what, I could easily hit 7 to 8ft like some of the other natives. Other than my eyes, my face is still the same. I guess it¡¯ll mature a bit more over the next few years and then my aging will effectively stop. It¡¯s pretty cool how as your overall level increases, so does your life span.¡¯ Following this, Kal started to focus on one of the plants near his feet and started to actively channel slight bits of mana towards his eyes. Suddenly, a blue screen appeared in his vision.

This is just regular grass. It can be found in most places on the continent. Has no special abilities. You can use it to feed horses.

¡®I¡¯ll wait to use the skill increase pills until I¡¯ve got the skills up to 40% as until then, they are not too hard to increase by myself. Boosting them from 40% to 60% will help me in the long run as it¡¯s pretty rare for someone to have skills at around 60% below level 100. Also, remembering the books from my previous life, there is the hidden class (profession) activation criteria. Reaching level 20 before gaining a class artificially will allow you to pick a suitable class from a list, but reaching level 20 without any of the stat boosts given from classes or my bloodlines will be pretty hard. Especially as the demon bloodline is locked and the other one is completely inaccessible right now. Being human only helps when you have a class. Well, it¡¯ll be a challenge. ¡®Wow, I would have only had these stats at some high levels last time. But then again, we only managed to kill beasts by working in massive groups. I¡¯ve got to go solo this time. Good thing I¡¯ve still got the experience from last time.¡¯ Kal then pulled out a tent from his storage (Dragos: sounds better than tent from his belt :¡¯) ) and erected it around 50 metres from the pond. Having set this up, he walked over to one of the smallest trees in the surroundings and using an axe, he chopped it down. ¡®I¡¯m so glad I bought the adventurers pack from Shop, this will save me a lot of the hassle of having to get the tools and equipment to survive in the wild.¡¯ After building a camp that he could use as his base for the foreseeable future, Kal then started to stretch. ¡®I need to go out and hunt something for dinner tonight. I can also start to use some of these skills. On that note, I should probably get some magical skills sorted in the future. It would increase my arsenal, but, right now, I just want a proper fight.¡¯ Saying such, Kal walked into the woods. As he moved through the woods, his footsteps were barely noticeable, even with all the twigs and leaves that were on the floor. He had a way of moving where he would just avoid any item that could make noise, while at the same time, sticking to the shadows like a trained thief. Looking at him move, one would never guess that he had a class of Knight throughout the whole of his previous life. ¡®It seems like all my training in espionage and woodland manoeuvres are still with me. It also feels kind of weird having to think everything, seeing as I¡¯ve been speaking to myself for quite a long time now. Need to stop doing that as otherwise people will look at me like I¡¯m crazy, and I¡¯ll potentially scare away my prey. Or not, I see a boar!¡¯ About 20 metres upwind of Kal, a medium size boar could be seen. Using identify, the following information was given.
King Woodland Boar
Health: ??? Level: 5
The woodland boar is a common boar found in the woodlands throughout Aloda. This boar on the other hand, is a King of its species. It has higher stats in every category as its counterpart. Be warned, they are much faster and more ferocious than you would expect. You are advised to fight them with a party of 4 to 5 people who are at least 2 levels above the boar. Your Identify skill proficiency is too low for more information.
¡®Now I understand why this place is not the easiest to get out of. I¡¯ve never heard of a King species outside any under level 70 area. I¡¯ve never heard of a King species of such a low level in the first place. But, this should be a good fight for me. And not too risky.¡¯ Pulling out the dagger, Kal crouched and slowly advanced towards the boar, making sure to move as silently as possible. When he was behind the last area of cover before the boar could see him, he set himself and prepared to make a throw. While the boar slowly moved around searching for food, its head swung into an angle within which Kal could hit. As soon as the boras left eye was in the position he wanted, Kal suddenly unwound like a coiled spring with his dagger flying straight towards the boar. Perfect hit. The boar was struck in the eye, but the blade barely penetrated further into the head. The muscle and bone surrounding the eye did its job and stopped the dagger entering the brain to score an instant kill. Roaring in pain the boar swung round to see Kal standing up to face it head on, armed with just his sword. The blade of his sword was a dark grey and wholly unremarkable. That is, until you knew the metal used was more expensive per gram than pure gold. It was a good conductor of mana, while at the same time being very strong and perfect for making weapons. The boar started to charge at Kal, moving a faster than the average human could react to, the boar covered the 10 metres to Kal in around 0.7 seconds. It was a good thing, then, that Kal was not average. By the time the boar had reached Kal, he had taken two steps to his right, towards the side the boar was blinded, released his sword with his left hand and used it to rip his dagger back out of the boar. While he was doing this, he swung his hips, so he was facing the boars flank, and slashed the back of its hind leg with the sword, effectively severing the tendon. This would slow the boar down and make the fight a lot easier. As the boar turned, Kal could see that its good eye had turned completely red and it was mad with rage. Unfortunately, Kal knew that even in its rage, the same tactic wouldn¡¯t be very effective any more. Instead, as the boar charged at him again, he used his jumping skill to go directly over the boar and drag his sword the length of its body. The sword met with a bit of resistance but using his strength, Kal forced it through. Bleeding like crazy, the boar unsteadily turned to face Kal again. They both knew that this would be the last act that the boar would do in its life. Facing the boar directly, Kal raised his sword and waited. The boar charged towards him again, noticeably slower than before. Even though it was slower, it would still be next to impossible for an average human to fully escape its charge. Timing it perfectly, Kal took one step diagonally forward and right, and proceeded to swing his sword up from under the boar¡¯s head, lodging the blade part way into the boar¡¯s spine, having already bisected its throat. The boar collapsed and within moments had perished. Taking out sword, Kal proceeded to wipe it down, along with his dagger, and sheath them. Taking out a hook from his storage, he hung the bear up by its hind legs and drained it of its blood. While it was draining, he gutted the boar and buried the entrails in a small hole he dug. Then he pulled out a skinning knife and skinned the boar. After all, the hide of a strong beast could always be sold for money. Once the boar was fully blooded and skinned, he cut it into manageable portions and stored it within his storage. Due to the time slowing ability of the belt, the meat would stay good for a long time. Finishing all of this, he packed up and headed back to his camp. ¡®Phew, I¡¯m back. That was a good hunt. Just like before, it seems like a good habit to only check my notifications when I¡¯m in a safe area or when it may make a difference in a fight. It¡¯s really good that whoever created the system that makes the notifications, has made it so the system can determine those notifications from the others. Anyway, I¡¯ll start getting dinner ready first. I¡¯m fucking starving. I haven¡¯t eaten in over half a year as you don¡¯t need food in the god space.¡¯ He then used a bit of mana to create a flame in the middle of the stack of wood he had created before he headed out to hunt. Getting out an iron skewer, he stuck it through a part of the boar¡¯s flank and roasted it over the open fire. Turning it regularly, he went through his notifications as it cooked.

It would save me a bunch of effort.¡¯ Saying such, Kal almost immediately fell asleep. An ability perfected in his time as a knight. Unknown to him, in the distance, a beast was slowly travelling on a course that would eventually intersect with his camp. Luckily for him, this would not be happening too soon. After all, he is just a level 2 otherworlder with no chosen profession. Chapter 4 - The Grind is Real ¡®Holy shit. Who the fuck made this forest. How are there so many King beasts. I¡¯ve yet to meet a normal beast. The only good thing about this is that I can get more experience. The bad thing, I¡¯m surrounded by mutant bunnies.¡¯ Surrounding Kal were four creatures that looked like Labrador sized bunnies. The disturbing thing about the bunnies though, were the fact that their front fangs extended over their bottom jaws, reminding Kal of the sabre-tooth tigers from the past. Identifying them, he saw the following:
King Sabre-Tooth Rabbits
Health: ??? Level: 4
This species of rabbit is native to the Aleran forest. These beasts travel in packs. Why packs and not herds? They are most definitely not herbivores. These bunnies will attack almost any creature that wonders into its path as long as they do not cause them fear. These sabre-tooth rabbits are all Kings, thus making their stats much greater. You are advised to fight them with a party of 7 to 10 people who are at least 2 levels above the highest rabbit. Your Identify skill proficiency is too low for more information.

Ice and fire covers all the basics. Time for me to go out and hunt some more.¡¯ Heading towards the area in which he killed the King Woodland Boar the day before, Kal started to explore. After 5 minutes of stealthily going around, he had discovered nothing of note. Finally, he chanced upon a plant that he recognised. ¡®Potatoes!¡¯ Yes, he had found potatoes, and he promptly dug them up. Having stored the ones he found, he searched for more. Following the potatoes, he realised that the section of woods he was in, was a bit different to the one the boar lived in. ¡®I¡¯m probably in some other beast¡¯s territory, time to hide again.¡¯ Just as he was about to enter stealth, he realised that a set of eyes were staring right at him. The current situation was reached. Kal was surrounded by the four bunnies. Two were level 3, one level 4 and one level 6. Knowing about their aggressiveness, Kal decided to strike first with a fire arrow. Chanting under his breath, he released the arrow directly into the head of the closest rabbit. ¡®It¡¯s so annoying that I can¡¯t multi-cast, insta-cast, or chantless-cast. Plus, my accuracy is pretty poor right now. And that bunny is the only one within my accuracy range right now.¡¯ Having said this, the rabbit he had aimed at was still a good 20 metres from him. The arrow hit it in the middle of its forehead. Due to Kal¡¯s high intelligence and wisdom, he had spent a few extra mana on the arrow to make sure it would penetrate. Due to this, he managed to instantly kill the level 4 rabbit by frying its brain. Drawing his sword, Kal cast a fire shield between himself and two of the rabbits. Doing such, he managed to isolate the remaining level 3 rabbit. Knowing that his shield should hold for at least 15 seconds, Kal rushed at the rabbit. The rabbit in turn leapt directly at Kal, its fangs aimed at Kal¡¯s throat. Ducking and moving diagonally, Kal swung his sword in an overhand swing at the back of the rabbit. The rabbit though, managed to twist in mid air and took the hit directly with one of its fangs. Unfortunately for it, its fang was completely severed, and the pain caused it to lose its bearings. In this time, Kal had pulled out a throwing knife using his left hand and launched it into the rabbit¡¯s chest. He then took a step forward and decapitated the rabbit with a single swing. By the time this had finished, his fire shield had expired, and the other two rabbits were hurdling towards him. Knowing he couldn¡¯t avoid both, he decided to take the impact from the lower levelled rabbit. Chanting ¡®ice shield¡¯ under his breath, he formed it just on his arm and used it to deflect the rabbit, while at the same time dodging the higher levelled rabbit entirely. He sheathed his sword while the rabbit was trying to break his shield and drew another dagger from his belt. Using this dagger, he stabbed the rabbit in the abdomen and disembowelled it. After shaking it off, he backed away quickly and gained some distance from the final one. Having taken out three rabbits already in quick succession, Kal was starting to get tired, and that was not taking into account that he had used a lot of mana, leaving him with mental exhaustion as well. Trying to finish the fight quickly, Kal drew his sword once more and rushed the rabbit. The rabbit did not change its approach and jumped at Kal. Kal decided to go under the rabbit this time and dragged his sword the length of the rabbit¡¯s body. Once again, Kal backed away and created space. Instead of taking a risk to finish off the two rabbits that were lying on the floor and bleeding out, Kal just stood there and waited. After about 3 minutes, both of them had breathed their last. Having regenerated enough mana to be back in decent condition, Kal quickly cleaned, skinned and stored his kills. After that he made his way carefully back to his camp. Lying down on his back, he reflected on his fight.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road. ¡®That was a bit too risky, I¡¯m very lucky that I managed to come out completely uninjured. It all only happened because I lost concentration. If I had kept stealth and discovered them first, I could very easily have finished the fight. I could have shot the highest level beast using magic from under cover and potentially have used a throwing dagger on the second most powerful one. That would have left me with only the two weakest ones left. They could be further separated using a shield spell and taken out individually, thus minimising risk. I need to pay attention if I¡¯m to survive and get more powerful. At least I got a lot of experience.¡¯ Kal then started to go through his notifications.

¡®My levelling is going good as well. I¡¯ll try and grind some skills and experience over the next few days then.¡¯
4 days later ¡®Finally back.¡¯ Kal had been hunting during daylight for the last 4 days and grinding his skills when it was dark. In this manner, he had collected the souls of another 35 beasts. With his stealth skill active, he was able to sneak up behind his unsuspecting prey and kill them or cripple them with his surprise attack. Using this method, he had gained enough experience to get to level 6. Fortunately, due to the level of the monsters found in the Aleran forest, he was able to get through the bottleneck of the 5th level pretty easily. The bottleneck was caused by the fact that to get from level 5 to level 6, the experience required was the same that was required to get from level 1 to 5. He had not gained any new skills in this period and had instead focused on increasing the skills he had. He had made pretty large gains in his skills. He had also been able to train his body and mind to increase his stats. His status was as followed.

Seeing as he had enough meat to last him for the next few weeks due to having caught and killed a few more boars, Kal decided to get rid of some of the rabbit bodies he had left. Placing them side by side, he had 17 rabbits that he no longer wanted. ¡®I offer these back to you, to the realm upon which we walk, take back their bodies and the exchange shall be made.¡¯ What Kal had just done was known as the oath of exchange. Where the killer of the beast would take what he needed and then offer the rest to the realm itself. In exchange, the realm would exchange items and money that are judged to be equal in value by itself. It also takes into account the difficulty of killing the beast as a level 500 killing a level 100 beast and a level 20 killing a level 100 beast is vastly different. A flash of light occurred and the bodies on the ground disappeared, only to be replaced by a pile of gold and silver coins as well as some equipment and a few books. ¡®Wow, you really do get a lot more money for trading in King beasts than normal ones. The equipment doesn¡¯t look half bad either. But those skill books are what I¡¯m excited about.¡¯ Checking them, he found the following skills: Diamond Body; Elemental Chains; Origin of Flight and Assassinate. Diamond body was a body tempering skill that would increase his stats as the proficiency went up. When it reached 100% it would increase vitality by 50 and strength by 25. Unfortunately, it could only be learned at level 10. Elemental chains was a skill that could be used to immobilise his opponents using an element under his ability. It would get stronger as the proficiency and power levels of its user increased. It had a level requirement of 20. Origin of flight was a skill that would eventually allow him to fly by using mana. The flight height and duration depended on the proficiency and the users power. It required the jumping skill to be at 100% before it could be learned. Assassinate was the only skill that was immediately available for him to learn. It would increase the damage caused when he attacked an unsuspecting victim. The attack would be more powerful as the skill proficiency increased. Learning assassinate immediately, Kal had a big grin on his face. ¡®All of these skills are ridiculously expensive if I wanted to buy them, and both Origin of Flight and Elemental Chains are almost impossible to find. I¡¯ve only heard of a handful of people who know either of them. Thank you, luck, for getting me these.¡¯ ¡®Now that I¡¯ve been working like mad for the last few days, I¡¯ll take tomorrow of to make some more plans and to let my body adjust to all its changes. I might also try and explore that pond over there as I have no idea what¡¯s in it yet. Time for some sleep.¡¯ Saying such, Kal did his regular routine and then promptly fell asleep in his tent. Never knowing that the beast moving in his direction would get here sometime tomorrow. A day in which he planned to stay at camp. Chapter 5 - A Mans Best Friend Having woken up late, Kal quickly ate and then did some stretches. Lying down in the sunlight he then proceeded to relax for a while, almost dozing off before he remembered that he wanted to try and explore the pond that was present in the meadow. Walking over to the pond, he got changed into a very thin set of clothes that was normally worn under armour but, due to the quality, could be used as an improvised wet suit. Once he was properly dressed (including his spatial belt), he started to swim. After a few minutes of this, he received a notification telling him that he had the swimming skill. ¡®This will be useful in the future as it will increase my mobility in the water. Now to gain the diving skill.¡¯ Kal went on to start diving to around 3 metres in depth, holding himself there, then surfacing. After he had repeated this motion around 5 times, he had received the diving skill. This skill would increase the time he could hold his breath and the pressure he could take safely as the proficiency increased. The best thing for him, was the fact that he could get both skills to about 20% proficiency in around 2 hours.
2 hours later ¡®Wooo, that was pretty fun. Messing round in the water was always one of my favourite things. It¡¯s a bit of a shame that I still couldn¡¯t see any signs of the floor of the pond, if it can still be called a pond when it is deeper than 50 metres. It¡¯s a good thing that the diving skill negates the effect of bends as it saves so much time when diving.¡¯ Taking a look at the skills, the following could be seen:
Skills
Swimming 22.5%
Diving 21%
From this, the ridiculous speed of Kals progress could be seen. What he achieved in 2 hours would take the recognised genii of Aloda at least 2 days. He had always been fast at progressing in his skills but since his second death, his speed had increased. Some of it could be attributed to his higher intelligence and wisdom stats but that didn¡¯t explain why he was so much faster. ¡®All that swimming has got me pretty tired, I¡¯ll take a short nap.¡¯ Setting up his precautions, Kal entered his tent and quickly fell asleep. Waking up an hour later, he walked outside his tent. Suddenly, he felt as if something was wrong. There was no valid reason for him to feel this way, he would have been warned of any living beings entering the meadow by the rune magic he had placed down before having his nap. Also, while looking around, nothing obvious stuck out to him. But for Kal, this sense had saved him countless times on the battlefield and was a finely-honed instinct. Even though he had eventually been killed, it was due to it being a betrayal by his allies plus a battle of attrition, never had any assassin had a chance to strike. Due to his position in his previous life, many had been sent after him, and none had returned alive. Trusting himself, Kal started to analyse everything around him. Finally, he realised there was a slight discrepancy in the grass close to the pond. Having spent hours in the pond earlier the same day, Kal was 100% certain that whatever the discrepancy was, it had not been there earlier. Approaching carefully, he drew his sword and dagger, making sure he could instantly dodge or block, depending on the situation he found himself in. As he got within 15 metres, he could smell the faint scent of blood. But what made him pause was the fact that he had never scented that specific type of blood before. With his abilities in his previous life, he had a vast experience in the slightly differing smells of blood, and with the improvement in senses his current body had gone through, he was even better at it. He could almost effortlessly recognise the type of blood as long as he had scented it before. With the fact that he couldn¡¯t see anything obvious, the smell of an unknown blood and his instincts firing like crazy, Kal was certain that whatever was there could prove deadly to him if he lost concentration. Knowing this he moved even slower. As he finally got within 5 metres, there was movement. Freezing Kal finally managed to see what had been concealed before. Whatever illusion or skill that was hiding it was negated with the movement. And in front of Kal was a¡ DOG??? ¡®No, wait, that looks more like a wolf cub. And one that has been seriously injured at that. Ah, why do I want to help it, surely it¡¯s a monster, lets identify it anyway.¡¯
??? ??? Warg
Health: ??? Level: 1
Your identify skill is too weak to be able to penetrate the information that is hidden by this Warg. It is a monster that specialises in concealment. Feel fortunate that you were even able to notice it. Your Identify skill proficiency is too low for more information.
¡®What the hell! When has a level 1 monster been able to hide from an identify cast by someone 5 levels higher than it. This is very interesting. I really don¡¯t want to kill it now. Hmm, let me try to feed it a tame pill and see what happens.¡¯ As Kal moved closer, the warg had started to growl and snap at him as it did not have the ability to move freely due to the injuries it had sustained. Before the warg could react, Kal had pulled out a taming pill and thrown it directly in the wargs mouth. Upon contact, the pill melted and was absorbed by the warg but unfortunately for Kal, an error messege appeared.
Error! You have tried to tame a sentient being.
¡®Well, crap! That was unexpected. Since when have sentient beasts been found in beginner areas. I didn¡¯t see my first sentient beast for almost 40 years last time. Now I have to decide whether to save this warg or not.¡¯ Unfortunately for Kal, even if he wanted to kill the warg for its experience, it would be almost impossible for him to follow through as his sole companion through his original childhood was a single dog. Due to this, he had always had a soft spot for dogs and those that are similar. To that point, 3 of his tamed beasts from his previous life were wolves and dogs. Unable to betray this deep-seated feeling, he eventually pulled out a healing pill. He then turned to the warg and started to speak, after all, it was sentient. ¡®Hello there, I know that you probably don¡¯t trust me, especially after I threw the taming pill in your mouth, but you can tell that I do not want you to die. So, what I have in my hand is a healing pill and you only have two choices right now. You can stop growling and let me give you this pill, then get better, or you can choose to bleed out right here. Now make your choice.¡¯ Kal could see the intelligence in the beast¡¯s eyes now that he was looking for it and could see it weighing up the decision that it had been given. Finally, with a look of resignation, it reluctantly opened its mouth and Kal threw in a healing pill. As the effects of the pill started to kick in, Kal could see the hope returning to the warg. Walking over to the pond, Kal grabbed some water in a bowl and then left some of the raw meat he had stored in his belt. Having done so, he spoke one last time to the beast. ¡®I¡¯ll be over in my tent, come at me with aggression and I¡¯ll kill you so get healthy and then leave.¡¯ Saying such, he walked back to his tent. Once he got there he checked a notification that he had kept hidden.

This skill allows you to recognise situations due to instinct and feelings that cannot be quantified. It will rise appropriately due to the concealment or event that you thwarted. Once maximised, it will allow you to learn Danger Sense.
¡®Wow. That is really a shocker. I never realised that this skill could be learned without a skill book. If I recall correctly, only a few of the Kings of some of the large Kingdoms knew this skill and I¡¯ve never even heard of the skill danger sense. Plus, with the way that the skill rises in proficiency, the concealment on that beast was insane.¡¯This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon.
A few hours later Having spent the last few hours cleaning and sorting out his equipment, Kal left his tent to cook dinner. As he did so, he noticed that the warg was still where it was previously. Walking over, he could see that it was asleep. Deciding to ignore it, he set up his fireplace and started to make his dinner. Halfway through cooking, he noticed that the warg had dragged itself over to the fire. Realising it was probably cold, he let it be. Once his food was ready, he ate quickly and due to habit, he threw the bones over to the warg like he would do with his tamed beasts in the past. Leaving before he got too attached to an intelligent beast, Kal went back to his tent and fell asleep.
Over the next few days, Kal went back to his training regimen of hunting in the daylight and training during the night. The only difference between before is that now he had a permanent resident in the warg that seemed to have taken residence next to his fire. Due to it still healing, Kal never made a big fuss about it as it never acted aggressively towards him. Finally, after two weeks had passed from the day he met the warg, he had hunted most of the lower level monsters in the surrounding area and had stopped receiving any meaningful experience. He had also found a new clearing to which he was going to move to. He made sure to mark the clearing he was currently in as he wanted to come back and discover what was at the bottom of the pond. Kal walked over to the warg lying by the fire. He had decided that seeing as they were co-habitants that he would at least say goodbye. ¡®So warg, it looks like it is time for me to move from here. You should be fully recovered by now so I have ne clue why you are still here. Seeing as you hunt during the night I guess you just find this place convenient. Anyway, I¡¯ll be moving to a new clearing now.¡¯ Having let down his guard, Kal had no time to respond when the warg exploded into action and quickly bit his hand. The bite itself was not hard, just drawing blood, but then Kal felt an agonising pain. Passing out, Kal never had a chance to see the wolf shaped mark appear on his bicep. It looked exactly like the warg which had bitten him and the warg itself seemed to be drawn into it, disappearing. The mark could easily be mistaken for an expensive full colour tattoo, and what it truly signified is something that Kal would not find out for a long time.
A few hours later ¡®For fucks sake you mongrel. Where are you, you fucking son of a bitch, and I mean that goddamn literally. Biting the hand that feeds you (also literally), ungrateful beast. I see you fucking ran away as well. At least you didn¡¯t bite my hand off I guess. Anyway, why is this notification being a bitch and blinking. That only happens when its urgent. Let¡¯s check.¡¯
You have bonded with a new beast
Taming proficiency has risen to 40%
You must name your new beast
¡®Wait, did his bite bind us. Oh lord, having a sentient tamed beast is something only the most powerful could do, and even with this last week of non-stop murder I¡¯m still only level 11. Anyway, I need to name it. A bit weird that an intelligent beast does not have a name yet, but seeing how he¡¯s a warg, I¡¯ll call him Fenris. Let¡¯s just hope he doesn¡¯t grow up to be so big. Anyway, I¡¯ve only truly realised this now, but I never thought about what colour his fur was. That¡¯s another thing I need to ask him about. Even though I kind of know what he looks like, I have no clue what his actual appearance is¡¡¯
Title Gained
Beast King
You have tamed an intelligent beast. This is a feat that normally only the most powerful can achieve. This along with your bloodline gives you the qualification to be a Beast King. This gives you the ability to enter the cities of the beasts as an equal and not an enemy.
¡®Ahahaha, this is a dream come true. I always wanted to visit the beast cities, but they normally kill all non-beasts on sight once they enter the city territories. Finally, I can go take a look around. That will be a fun thing to do in the future.¡¯ Finally taking a look at his arm which was irritating him, Kal had a look of shock on his face. ¡®What the fuck! Since when did bonding with a beast give you a tattoo of them instead of them just appearing in your beast space. I really have a bunch of questions to ask Fenris once he wakes up. I just hope he has answers.¡¯ Saying such, Kal proceeded to pack up camp and headed out on his way to his next camp site. It was time to start preparing to his return to civilisation. He had plans to keep, and after all university started in just under 8 months. Spoiler: Stats, Skills and Titles

Chapter 6 - Two is Better than One Having arrived at the clearing where he was planning to move to, Kal checked the area to make sure that it was safe and he wasn¡¯t encroaching on a beasts territory. Finishing the check and not finding any signs of the area not being safe, Kal set up camp and multiple runic circles. These were all alarms, the reason, some of the higher levelled beasts have some form of concealment meaning that multiple circles are needed to break the concealment and alert Kal. As could be noticed, Kal was being a lot more cautious in comparison to before. The reason for this is that once beasts start getting above level 10, they gain specialist skills that increase their danger level in confrontations. Once all of Kal¡¯s precautions were in place, he decided to spend the rest of the day training his skills. Looking around at the clearing, he was once again shocked by how similar it looked to the one he had moved from earlier in the day. It was still a large area of grass with a single pond around 50 metres in width. The layout was also almost identical. If the marks in the grass left by all of Kal¡¯s training were not present, the two clearings would be indistinguishable. Still wanting to explore the ponds, Kal started to train his swimming and diving skills once more. While he was doing this, he was thinking about the questions that he had for Fenris when he woke up. ¡®I need to ask him why I couldn¡¯t, and still can¡¯t, see his full status. I mean, I don¡¯t even know what his real breed is¡ Also, I need to know about this tattoo like thing. Hopefully, I can pass it off as a tattoo seeing as in my 80 years here before, I have never heard about it. Anyway, let¡¯s get grinding.¡¯ Almost two hours later, Kal had managed to get his skills to the following:
Swimming 31%
Diving 29.5%
Looking over his skills, Kal noticed that his taming skill had actually hit 40%. This had occurred when he ¡®tamed¡¯ Fenris but due to the circumstances, Kal had not noticed. ¡®This means that I can now jump my taming skill straight to 60% using the skill increase pills.¡¯ Saying such, Kal swallowed 5 of the pills boosting his taming skill straight to 60%. Thinking about skills, Kal realised that he could now learn the skill Diamond Body that he had received earlier as he had now reached level 10.
Diamond Body ¨C 0%
Your body will increase its durability as your skin will be harder to penetrate and your muscles and internal organs will be less easily damaged. Can only be trained as the body takes damage and consequently healed. At skill completion, vitality will increase by 50 and strength by 25
It was a skill that would have been especially useful in his previous life. Luckily for him, with the advantages he had gained, he would be classed side by side, if not ahead of all the genii with which he would be attending school. And that¡¯s before you take into account that he would be able to get a class that truly suited him. Over the last few hours the sun had gone down, leaving the moons to become visible. On Aloda, there was not just one moon, but there were three. They did not all become visible at the same time, but there were times they were. The moons themselves were something that Kal only had a little knowledge of, but he knew there was a course on it at the school he was planning on attending. Due to the cutthroat nature of Aloda, a lot of the information was only given to those who were strong enough. That was something that Kal knew well and planned to be strong enough to get the information he required. Seeing as the sun had gone down, Kal decided that it was probably a good idea to get a good night¡¯s rest in.
The next morning ¡®Holy crap, this tattoo is even more lifelike than I thought yesterday!¡¯ Saying such, Kal traced the tattoo using his hand. Suddenly he felt some of his mana being drawn into the tattoo and there was a slight flash of light around the tattoo before it faded to a dull colour. Looking in front of him, Kal could now see Fenris, properly see Fenris. The warg stood at around 2ft in height on all fours, with a coarse coat of fur. Fenris¡¯ fur was a mix of black and grey hairs, with the overall look being like a shadow. It was to the point that Kal felt like if a shadow fell on him, Fenris would disappear into it. Finally having Fenris in front of him, Kal was about to start speaking when: ¡®Hello.¡¯ ¨C Fenris ¡®Holy crap, you can use telepathy! I thought I would have to guess my way to find answers with you.¡¯ ¨C Kal ¡®Your taming skill must have reached a high enough level for me to be able to speak to you like this.¡¯ ¨C Fenris ¡®Oh, yeah. I hit 60% yesterday so that should explain it. That along with the fact that you are a sentient being. On that point, I had to name you, so I called you Fenris. Hope you don¡¯t mind the name.¡¯ ¨C Kal ¡®I¡¯m sorry for not letting you know that I wanted to bond with you, but something inside was telling me that I had to, and I couldn¡¯t control my instincts when that happened. Also, I never had a name before, so Fenris is good enough for me.¡¯ ¨C Fenris ¡®I guess that explains why that happened. Do you know why you became a tattoo on my arm though instead of just entering my pet space like a normal beast would?¡¯ ¨C Kal ¡®All sentient beasts would leave a marking on their tamer if they chose to be tamed. The only way someone could have a sentient beast but not have a marking is if they used a forbidden ceremony and overwrote the beast¡¯s consciousness. This would leave them as a sentient beast but they would be much less powerful. Also, doing such is the same as slavery. And everyone knows that one of the main rules of Aloda is that no matter what, slavery is not allowed. Therefore, anyone caught having done so will have a bounty placed on their heads by anyone who is not an ally as it will help gain Karma for the future.¡¯ ¨C Fenris ¡®Crap, that means people will know about us then, and I have no valid way of hiding it. That is, unless your concealment skill allows you to hide it? After all, we are bonded, and I still can¡¯t seem to view your status.¡¯ ¨C Kal ¡®Luckily, as long as I¡¯m in your pet space, my skill will passively hide the marking. Unfortunately, up until I hit a high enough level, I cannot reverse my skill so that you can take a look at my status. At least, that¡¯s what my inherited memories are telling me. So, even I won¡¯t know what I am till then as beasts can¡¯t view their own status till they hit level 50.¡¯ ¨C Fenris ¡®Well, I guess we both don¡¯t know about ourselves well. Let¡¯s get to know each other anyway.¡¯ ¨C Kal Saying such, Kal and Fenris spent some time talking about themselves as they started to become friends. After all, it would be stupid if two individuals who would be bonded for the rest of their lives ended up hating each other.
A few hours later ¡®Well Fenris, we should probably go on a hunt and see how it goes. We¡¯ll be doing it a lot over the next few years.¡¯ ¨C Kal After saying this, Kal and Fenris headed out to find something to hunt. Moving through the forest silently, Kal realised that Fenris had blended seamlessly into the shadows and was impossible to see. If it was not for their bond, Kal would have no clue where Fenris was.
Finally, after around 20 minutes of searching, Kal and Fenris found a monster to hunt.
King Iron Boar
Health: ??? Level: 13You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story.
The iron boar is a rare boar species found in woodlands on Aloda. It has skin as tough as iron and bones and flesh to match. It has the ability to use magic so be careful. This boar, is a King of its species. It has higher stats in every category as its counterpart. Be warned, they are much faster and more ferocious than you would expect. You are advised to fight them with a party of 4 to 5 people who are at least 5 levels above the boar. Your Identify skill proficiency is too low for more information.
¡®This will be a pretty big test for us Fenris. I probably couldn¡¯t take this beast on by myself, so I¡¯ll be counting on you. First let¡¯s cripple it. I¡¯ll go for the rear right leg, you for the rear left.¡¯ ¨C Kal This conversation took place around 20 metres away from a monstrosity of a boar. It was around 1.7 metres in height on its fours, a dull metallic colour with reddish eyes. The tusks that curved up from its snout were almost 50cm in length and stained a reddish colour almost like rust. Like rust, but once you got closer, you realised that the stains were most definitely the blood of other creatures. Having got a plan on how to start the fight, both Kal and Fenris got into position. Waiting until the boar was facing away from them, Kal and Fenris exploded out of their hiding spot without making a sound. Knowing about the toughness of the boar¡¯s skin, Kal was forced to use his sword instead of his throwing knives. As he reached the hind leg he was aiming for, the boar finally realised something was wrong, but Kal had enough time to force his sword through the back of the boar¡¯s knee joint causing it to be damaged and making the leg buckle. At almost the same time, Fenris had done the same thing to the other leg. They both backed away after doing so. Fenris once again hiding in a shadow. The boar turned with a bellow of rage just to see Kal standing there with his blade out. Roaring, it charged at him. The speed with which it moved barely let Kal move out the way. Even with his quick reactions, he could feel the wind passing by him. As the boar was turning to face him, Kal released a throwing knife into the boar¡¯s eye. This stopped the boar from being able to see out of its right eye, giving an effective area for Fenris to attack. The boar charged at Kal again, as he started to dodge, Kal realised that the earth under his feet seemed to be stopping him. Realising that this was probably the boar¡¯s magical skill a few moments too late, Kal used all his strength to throw himself towards the boar¡¯s blind side but ended up getting hit in the side. Kal was sent flying almost 4 metres from the collision and knew that his right arm and three of his ribs were broken. Using his fire shield to gain some time, Kal swallowed a healing pill and got up again. While this was happening, Fenris had snuck closer to the boar and damaged its right foreleg. With three of its limbs damaged, the boar was slow enough that Kal was confident he could get out of the way if necessary. Knowing this, he sent an ice arrow straight into the boar¡¯s other eye, permanently blinding the boar. Waiting a few seconds so that the boar would have no idea what was happening, Kal ran at the boar before jumping. With his blade held in his left hand, he used the momentum from the jump to force it into the boar¡¯s brain, ending its life.

¡®Well Fenris, looks like you¡¯ve hit level 3. If we keep training like this, you should hit a pretty high level soon. It¡¯s kind of a shame that a tamed beast can never be a higher level than its master. But anyway, I need to get back and heal.¡¯ ¨C Kal ¡®Are you ok? That looked painful but not deadly. Sorry I couldn¡¯t help.¡¯ ¨C Fenris While saying this Fenris had a dejected look on his face for allowing his tamer to have been injured. Understanding this, Kal comforted him. ¡®It¡¯s fine Fenris. This only happened because even with all the warnings, I still underestimated the boar.¡¯ ¨C Kal Arriving back at their camp, Kal lay down to rest after taping up his ribs. ¡®I seem to be healing faster than I expected. Probably got something to do with my race again. Anyway, I¡¯ll relax till tomorrow when I should be healed, and we¡¯ll go out and hunt again. What do you say Fenris?¡¯ ¡®If you¡¯re sure that you¡¯ll be healed by then Kal.¡¯ ¨C Fenris
Two months later Kal and Fenris had spent the last two months hunting and recovering while training their skills. Their bond had grown much deeper and they had become close friends. Inevitable, when they were the only company the other person had. They had grown a lot in the past few months, with both of them reaching level 19. Kal was actually within a single kill of hitting level 20 and as a pre-celebration, as his swimming and diving skills had just hit 60% each, he had decided to try and get to the bottom of the ponds that were present in every clearing that he and Fenris had moved to. Fenris had already entered Kal¡¯s pet space so that they would not be separated. Walking over to the pond, Kal had packed his camp in case he had to stay for longer than he expected. Making sure he had one of the teleport pills available for emergencies, Kal entered the pond and began his dive. He kept swimming further deeper as the light faded to a point that even he, with his incredible night vision, was struggling to see before he felt the sensation of being teleported. ¡®Oh crap.¡¯ He thought as he lost consciousness due to the teleport he had been forced into.
¡®Finally! You¡¯ve actually made it far enough to come here. This is going to be fun.¡¯ A voice could be heard saying this just in front of Kal, but obviously Kal had no chance of hearing it as he was unconscious and defenceless. Normally, Fenris would be able to help Kal out in this situation, but inside Kal¡¯s pet space, it could be seen that Fenris was also unconscious. Kal'' Status and Skills
