《God Chef Rordon Gamsay》 God Chef Rordon Gamsay: Prologue ¡°And that¡¯s how you make, a perfect risotto,¡± I say as I walk away from the glaring lights, and off of the set. I abandon reviewing the recording for later, and I step outside, slowly wrenching my phone out of the confines of my jeans pockets. The sounds of urban night-life fill my ears, bringing me some semblance of peace, and ending my persona of being a stuck-up, shit-fucking cunt. From shedding my television persona, I turn into a surprisingly nice guy with four smart, amazing kids, and an incredibly beautiful and loving wife. A lot of people also seem to think I¡¯m quite unintelligent as well. I have a degree in hotel management, I also have operated a whole host of successful restaurants, proven by the fact that I currently have 16 Michelin Stars. After playing around on my phone for a bit, I start to head back inside to the studio. As I¡¯m about to head into the doorway I feel this indescribable pain. My head, with almost no intervention from me, drifts down and looks towards my stomach, a silver, gleaming piece of metal juts out, stained crimson. ¡°I hope you like that, you fucking cocksucker!¡± yells the unknown attacker, cackling madly while he rotates the knife, making sure to turn the wound from something potentially fatal, to very fatal. ¡°Normally, I¡¯d scream while someone is trying to attack me, but instead I¡¯ll give you a lesson on-oofhow to swear eloquently.Try to vary your words, instead of c-calling me a fucking cocksucker, try instead calling me, a shitfucking, cock guzzling, son of a whore. Allow me to retaliate to this, you cock-ogling shit-guzzling dick sucking son of a-¡± Blackness envelops my vision, eventually consuming what I perceive as the entirety of the universe. My comprehension of what I assumed death to be does not apply here, it was quick, and unforgiving. What I perceived that was milliseconds worth of time, may have been instantaneous or dragged on over hours. All I know is I eventually stopped feeling anything, and eventually woke up in a bright white room. The pure beauty and impurity of this white speaks enough to deserve its own book, instead of a sentence in my mind. I sit up, if up is even an applicable term here, and stare into one of the most beautiful scenes I have had ever laid my eyes upon. The words I could use to describe this do not even exist, but I¡¯ll try to describe it. ¡°This is the most mind bogglingly, cunt shatteringly, orgasm causing-ly beautiful scene I have ever laid my eyes upon¡± I say, my eyes full of wonderment.Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. ¡°Thanks for describing my realm like that, Rordon Gamsay¡± an unknown voice speak from behind me. I twist my head to the sound of the voice, my body follows suit. ¡°I am what you may describe as, ¡®God¡¯, although I really just call myself Jim.¡± says the seemingly omnipotent being, which calls itself ¡°Jim¡±. ¡°Hello, Jim. I¡¯m going to skip past all the wonderment, and assume that I have died, and I am currently in heaven. Have I assumed correctly?¡± ¡°That assumption would be correct, Rordon. Do you mind if I take the initiative to call you Rordon?¡± ¡°Feel free,¡± I say. ¡°So where are all the people? I¡¯d assume that if this is heaven, there are many others here.¡± ¡°Well, all people do come to ¡®heaven¡¯ as you call it,¡± Jim explains. ¡°But they have a choice of being reincarnated into a world of their choosing under my domain, or just disappearing. All people go to heaven, but I do send the people who are particular cunts to a hell like world. Or I reincarnate them into demons into an RPG like world.¡± ¡°Well that sounds like a good time. Tell me more about this RPG world.¡± ¡°Sure, Rordon. This RPG like world is pretty much as you think. Sword and magic are thrown about, stats do exist and are shown in windows. If you choose to reincarnate, you can ask for a specific ability when you do. However in your case, you may as well just be reincarnated as a god purely because out of all the people I¡¯ve watched on your planet, you are the one I¡¯d choose to be a god.¡± Jim elaborates. ¡°Well, I have always wanted to play god, so when you say I would be a god, what pray tell do you have in mind?¡± ¡°Basically, you will have all the skills, infinite health, mana, skill points, all that shit. You also have a special ability called ¡®God of Gods¡¯ which basically lets you sculpt the world to your liking whenever you want.¡± ¡°Anything particular you want me to do?¡± ¡°I don¡¯t really care what you do, as long as you can provide some entertainment for me. Feel free to fuck around to your heart¡¯s content in this world, Rordon. If you want, feel free to wander across the world as a chef, I¡¯m sure you¡¯d enjoy it.¡± ¡°Sounds like a fun time, but I just want to ask, what will happen to my wife and kids on the world I am from?¡± ¡°Well, they would know you are dead, but I will grant them all immensely happy lives, and they will remember you fondly.¡± ¡°Well, that sounds good enough to me, feel free to toss me in the world then Jim.¡± ¡°Alright Rordon, I¡¯m going to open up the door to the new world to you now. Keep in mind, I will contact you every so often. Have fun!¡± And with that last sentence from Jim, I walked through the door and into my new life. God Chef Rordon Gamsay: Chapter 1
As I am about to walk through the door, Jim shouts, ¡°Wait Rordon, don¡¯t go yet!¡± ¡°I haven¡¯t fully explained everything to you, I still need to give you some proof that your family is alright. I also meant to ask, you¡¯ve been relatively complacent through all of this, why is that?¡± Jim asks, tilting his head slightly. ¡°To answer the question about me being complacent, it¡¯s because I¡¯ve mentally prepared myself for a situation akin to this. Although to be honest, I¡¯m quite scared on the inside, and worried about my wife and children.¡± Rordon replies, his legs slightly shaking. ¡°Well, good thing I have an answer to the problem of the well-being of your wife and kids.¡± He pulls up a screen, showing a small video of my wife and children. ¡°It¡¯s actually a timelapse of their lives, it shows their peaceful lives after your death. Your wife eventually moves on after a year and find a great person who would support her and the kids. The kids all grow up, go to college, and find great partners for themselves too.¡± I look at the video, a small clip plays of my wife and children grieving, bringing tears to my eyes. It quickly switches from them grieving, to my wife meeting another man. I feel slightly jealous, but it is completely acceptable. This video continues on until my kids grow old, and it ends there. ¡°You can keep the video on you, for assurance that they will be alright. Also, about the fact of me contacting you periodically. Time, that¡¯s what I think you call it, will pause, enabling me to visit you whenever without revealing myself. I¡¯ll contact you about once a year, anyways, it¡¯s about time you got along on your journey!¡± Jim wraps his arm around me, leading to the door. ¡°Oh, by the way, you¡¯ll start off with some basic equipment and such, have fun!¡± The door quickly opens, revealing a grassy hill, and Jim pushes me through. I fall onto the hill, the impact hurting my legs. I quickly twist my body to look behind me. I see Jim waving as the door closes and eventually disappears, leaving me alone in an unknown world. I look around, the calm breeze sending a small shiver down my spine. I spot a wooden wall off in the distance, and I begin to head that way. After a bit of a walk, I arrive at the entrance to the town, it is bustling with activity, the smell of street foods and various spices fill my nose. I walk over the uneven bridge over the large moat, the sounds of people nestle in my ears. As I aimlessly wander around, I find myself walking into an alley to get away from the crowd and get somewhere quieter. There, I have my first potentially dangerous encounter. ¡°Hee hee! Looks like someone wandered into my trap!¡±, someone behind me says, sending a chill down my spine and reminding me of my encounter back on Earth. This time however, I¡¯m a bit more prepared than I was before. I spin around quickly to face my attacker, a flash slightly blinds me, and my arm buries itself into the unknown attacker. Instead of nothing good happening, he blasts off into the wall of a building, leaving only a stinging sensation on my hand and a fairly wounded man. A trail of smoke is left drifting from my arm as the town guard comes rushing into the alley to check the source of the noise. Two armored men rush in to grab me before they take a look at the man and let me go.The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement. ¡°Sorry sir, we didn¡¯t realize you were the one being attacked! This man is a local troublemaker, the wounds he has received might set him straight. Thanks for helping out!¡± The town guardsman says, light reflecting off his surprisingly shiny armor. ¡°No it¡¯s fine, I just have two questions. Where exactly is this town, and where is the nearest inn?¡± ¡°To answer your odd first question, This is the town of Hafeld, located within the Kingdom of Hombarion incase you didn¡¯t know. Also, the nearest inn is The Spear of Fire, just down the street.¡± ¡°Thanks for helping me, also, why are there so many people in town today?¡± ¡°That¡¯s because this is the week we open our gates to people from all around Beauchorus, various traders and such come from everywhere to our town to trade goods and the like.¡± ¡°Well, that was very useful information, thank you, sir!¡± With that, I head off to The Spear of Fire. After a brief walk, I find myself in front of a set of doors, above is a sign that reads ¡°The Spear of Fire¡± describing the picture below it. I push open the doors and walk into the cozy and warm inn. A slightly overweight dwarf mans the counter and practically yells to me, ¡°Hello there young traveler! Might you be looking for a place to rest for a while?¡± ¡°I am searching for a place to settle down for a bit miss,¡± I reply while the sound of a crackling fire grabs my attention. ¡°Feel free to call me Gwali my boy! How long do you plan on staying?¡± She still yells, but this time closer to my face, I feel her booming voice slightly shaking me. ¡°I don¡¯t really know right now, but potentially a week or two for now. How much will that be?¡± ¡°Should cost roughly 55 stone denarus, or 5 bronze and 5 stone denarus. This includes lodging, free meals at the kitchen, and a ticket for unlimited trips to the bathhouse in the price.¡± ¡°Sounds good to me, let me check if I have it¡± Shit, I never learned how to access any of my statuses and such. I feel around my body until I touch what seems to be a coin purse. I pull it off, and a window pops up in front of me with text that says, ¡°Select amount to withdraw¡±. I push the amounts up to 5 bronze and 5 stone denarus, and in the bag, the coins appear. I slowly open the bag dump the coins into my hand, and I hand them over to Gwali. ¡°You¡¯re all set, my boy! The room is upstairs, third door on the left!¡± ¡°Thanks, Gwali!¡± I say with a smile as I walk up the stairs and to my room. I open the door to a decent sized room with a desk, a chest for storage, and a sizeable bed. It seems the inskeep has kept good care of her rooms as mine is almost pristine. I take off my shoes, plop onto the bed, and stare at the ceiling. ¡°This is an unfamiliar ceiling isn¡¯t it.¡± I think to myself as I slowly drift off to sleep. Somewhere in the town jail¡ ¡°Stupid cunt thinks he can put me in jail eh? Well, we¡¯ll see about that when he comes under attack from our cult!¡± Says the beaten thief, laughing maniacally in his cold cell. ¡°Pipe down in there you dickwit!¡± says a guard. ¡°Yes sir¡¡± the thief says, with a tinge of annoyance in his voice. God Chef Rordon Gamsay Chapter 2 I awake in my bed after having a nice rest as the sun shines down on me from my left, slightly warming me. I get up from my bed and walk over to the desk in the room to start thinking of what I¡¯d do today. I start to think after I sit down, ¡°I suppose I should head downstairs and get some form of breakfast. Then I¡¯ll ask if there is some form of adventurers guild and where it is.¡± I get up from the desk and make my way downstairs when the smell of meat and potatoes fills me. I quicken my pace and head to the dining area of the inn. After I make my way there, I see a few people scattered about at the various tables leading me to sit down at a lonely table. A lady asks, ¡°Room Number?¡± Causing me to reply, ¡°Room 213, mi-ah I mean sir.¡± ¡°Feel free to call me miss, any day boy!¡± The very buff man in a revealing and tight dress replies. I quickly turn my head back to hide my embarrassment and bewilderment. I wait for a few minutes listening to various conversations, after a while my food is dropped off to me, by the man in a dress. He tries to blow me a kiss, and I make sure to avoid it at all costs. The aroma of steak and potatoes fill me up to the brim as I grab my knife and fork to begin eating. I chop off a bit of the steak, get some potatoes, and put it into my mouth. An explosion of flavor happens right at that moment, great combination of well-cooked steak and the crispiness of the potatoes. After the initial bite, I quickly finish off what was left on the plate, and once again the man comes back, but this time to collect the plate. I ask where the adventurers guild is, and the man replies ¡°It¡¯s just a bit of a walk down the street, honey.¡± I regret asking that immensely, but the information was useful. I get up from the table and start to make my way to the adventurers guild. After a quick walk, I find myself in front of a large entrance into what is the hall of the adventurers guild. The guild bristles with activity, many people are inside loitering around what seem to be request boards. A large group of people walks out after talking to a woman with auburn hair. I make my way over to her as the group of people who she was talking to head off past me to the door. ¡°Hi, may I help you?¡± the young looking woman says. ¡°Hi, I was wondering how I would go about registering as an adventurer?¡± I reply. ¡°Oh that¡¯s easy!, Follow me and I¡¯ll set you up. Do you already know how things work here, or is this your first time?¡± ¡°It is my first time here, to be honest.¡± ¡°No problem, my name is Marcy! I¡¯m always willing to help, in more ways than one!¡± She winks at me. Her blunt and surprisingly lewd reply throws me for a loop, but I push that out of my mind and continue to follow her. ¡°By the way, I haven¡¯t asked your name yet, stranger!¡±You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story. ¡°Ah, my name is Rordon.¡± ¡°Nice name, anyways follow me to the testing room!¡± We proceed to the slightly small room, I get slightly distracted by the fact her breasts were swinging about. But I regain my composure and sit down opposite to her. ¡°Anyways Rordon, here are the basics of being in the adventurer¡¯s guild. There is a basic rank system, where you start is determined by the test I¡¯ll administer soon.¡± ¡°Alright seems simple enough, so I assume doing requests and such will raise my rank in time?¡± ¡°Ah, you¡¯re already getting the hang of it! Please keep in mind that you can only do requests that are within one rank of yours, that way we don¡¯t have people who are Recruit rank, doing quests meant for those that are Master, or Advanced rank. Oh, that reminds me, do you know about the ranking system?¡± ¡°Can¡¯t say that I do, miss Marcy!¡± ¡°Oh don¡¯t call me miss, I¡¯m not that young!¡± Marcy¡¯s face blushes a little. ¡°Anyways, the ranking system here is pretty simple. The ranks are, Mythic, Legend, Hero, Master, Advanced, Regular, and Recruit. Mythic is the highest rank one can go, very few people of this rank exist, easily under 10. Recruit is the lowest rank, and the easiest to get out of.¡± ¡°Seems simple enough, let¡¯s get to this test shall we?¡± ¡°Alright Rordon, keep your pants on!¡± She pulls out a ball that¡¯s purple and looks like it¡¯s made of some form of glass. ¡°Put your hand on this, and it¡¯ll start to read what you¡¯re capable of!¡± ¡°Alright¡± I place my hand on the ball and it starts to glow, a purple light radiating onto Marcy and I. It continues to glow brighter and brighter until the ball shatters underneath my hand. It all collapses into a pile, instead of glass shards being sent everywhere. ¡°Holy fuck that is not supposed to happen!¡± Marcy says bluntly. ¡°I am so sorry Rordon, are you hurt anywhere? If you are, I can kiss it to make you feel better!¡± ¡°I am quite fine, Marcy thanks for being concerned about me!¡± I reply quickly, slightly stunned by her lewd jokes. ¡°That really isn¡¯t supposed to happen at all, I¡¯ll start you off with the rank of Regular to compensate for this since you do seem capable enough! Of course, you¡¯ll probably die, but try to come back safe now. I already have a quest picked out for you, general goblin subjugation, just come back to me with some proof of the goblins deaths!¡± she practically commands as she rushes to get me out of the door. I start to head off to where the sheet of paper she slipped me reads. For some reason, I can understand the language, but it is probably a gift from Jim to make my life easier, and more entertaining for him. After walking for an hour, I find myself in the forest for the subjugation quest. I decide to sit down for a bit and take a break. I start to check over my equipment, I have a basic iron sword in its sheath on my back, some leather armor, and various preserved foods. I pull out a bit of bread and start to eat it to relieve some of my hunger, but my time eating is cut short when some creatures off in the distance make their way over to me. As they come closer, I can see that they look like goblins, green skin, wood clubs, and one even has an iron sword. I pull the sword I received out of its sheath and aim it towards the goblins. They get closer and I run towards them, readying my sword. I arrive in front of one of the goblins who wielded a club and brought down my sword on him. It sliced into him starting at his ear and traveling diagonally through his head. Blood spurted into the air, startling his friends, but not enough to cause them to run away. I ready myself again, but this time the sword-wielding goblin tries to rush into me. I say, ¡°Not the best idea, you shit-eating son of a whore¡± and as he rushes towards me, he runs straight into the tip of my sword, his face eating it as he slows down, and eventually stops. Blood trips down my sword as his head is slowly cut off by gravity pulling him down. He falls off, his head split, fluids begin to dribble onto the ground. The last two who watch their friend die try to run off, but they meet their end by my sword quickly cutting them down in one swing. I sit down against a tree to rest for a bit, not noticing the slowly encroaching group nearby who heard the fighting. God Chef Rordon Gamsay: Chapter 3 As I am resting against this tree, I hear footsteps off to my right slowly approaching. ¡°Yo, is this guy dead?¡± ¡°He can¡¯t be, it doesn¡¯t look like there are any wounds on him!¡± ¡°If he was dead, he¡¯d be pretty weak considering it would¡¯ve been goblins to kill him.¡± ¡°Ay man, you dead?¡± One of the unknown voices calls out to me, I respond my opening my eyes, hopping up, and by replying with, ¡°Yes, you doughnuts!¡± ¡°Wow, no need to be rude¡± one of the unknown voices replies. ¡°Sorry I sounded rude, a force of habit. So anyway, who are you guys?¡± I apologize and wait for their response. ¡°Ah, I¡¯m Char, a bard, and the leader of this rag-tag group!¡± ¡°Mija, magician.¡± ¡°Jesse, I¡¯m the priest of this group. Because these boys would die without me.¡± ¡°Mallory, I¡¯m a fighter, pretty skilled one at that. At least that¡¯s what I¡¯d say.¡± ¡°Nice to meet you guys I¡¯m Rordon, what are you doing out here?¡± ¡°Oh we¡¯re just passing through on our way to Hafeld, we just got done with a quest.¡± [Char]If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. ¡°We just got done with a big quest! We bagged about¡ 36 goblins from a goblin encampment to the east?¡± [Mallory] ¡°It was 43 actually¡¡± [Mija] ¡°37, 43 what¡¯s the difference?¡± As Mallory shrugs her shoulders, I spot a small group of people moving towards us in the distance. ¡°Hey guys, you might want to check those people coming up to us¡± As I finish saying that, the group calls out to us ¡°Hey there friends, I see you have some goblin corpses there! Mind if I take ¡®em?¡± The unknown man lets out a guttural laugh1.¡± ¡°Hell no dude? We don¡¯t even know your name, so just piss off¡± [Char] ¡°Ah thanks for reminding me, my name is Sige! The rest of the people in my party don¡¯t really matter. Hand over the corpses, or you¡¯ll be the corpses.¡± Sige states this in an authoritative voice and begins to take out his bardiche2. The light from his weapon gleams into my eyes, slightly blinding me, while Char starts his reply. ¡°Well then Sige, I¡¯m sorry to say tha- FUCK YOU MAN, THESE GOBLINS ARE OURS YA CUNT¡± A few seconds pass, then Sige yells ¡°GET TO YOUR POSITIONS¡±, his party spreads out around myself and the adventurer¡¯s group I¡¯m with. Mija starts to chant something, I don¡¯t know what it is, but I assume it is magic. Char comes close to me and asks ¡°Can you act as a rearguard so the enemies behind us don¡¯t get Mija? Mallory can handle the ax-wielding leader.¡± ¡°You got it!¡± I reply quickly and move in to protect Mija. Four people start to come towards us, Mija finishes his casting ¡°PARALYSE¡±. The four people originally coming towards us fall over, and I finish them off. As I am finishing them, I turn behind me to see Mallory being flung off, blood trails from her while she flies through the air, and hits a tree. ¡°Who¡¯s next!¡± The barbaric man yells, I rush towards him as he starts to swing down his weapon onto Char. I bring myself, and my sword under his vicious swing and block it. I¡¯m driven downwards by the sheer force of his swing. Again, Sige swings towards me, I deflect it with the back of my blade, the collision of metal against metal screams in my ears. He staggers for a moment but keeps pushing forward. Another swing, and this time it grazes me, the tearing of fabric is heard, and a pain in my arm appears. Sige hits me with the handle of his weapon, pushing me backward into a nearby tree, and then I¡¯m grabbed by my collar and held against the tree. A sudden burst of power comes from within, strong enough to have me properly wield my sword, and stab it into his chest while I¡¯m held. Sige looks down to see his wound, the clothing surrounding the area is wet with blood. He slowly loosens the grip on my collar, and starts falling backward, the life seemingly drained from his eyes. As he falls backward onto the ground, I see something black leak out from behind his eyes and float off into the air. I turn around to hear Char yell ¡°Holy shit, you took out a bandit leader! That¡¯s at least an Advanced ranked quest!¡± When I go to face him, a searing pain shoots through my whole body, causing me pass out in the middle of the forest, while Char and Mija check up on Mallory. DING! Level Up! God Chef Rordon Gamsay: Chapter 4 I awaken in a dark space, my eyes straining to find light. A flash of light temporarily blinds me, and then I see white text. ¡®You received the Blessing of the God of Chefs!¡¯ The text says, I continue on reading. ¡®Blessing of the God of Chefs (LEVEL 1): Ability to have a small stall, summoned from the Chefspace. Any ingredients to make a Level 1 Dish can be summoned for free, higher ingredients must be hunted or bought via the shop interface. A small boost in your strength and magic power. Level 1 Chef Magic unlocked. Magic can be used to aid in personal cooking. Magic cannot be used to aid in shop cooking. Stall is summoned via thought, ingredients, and cookware are summoned via shop/storage interface on the stall. Congratulations Rordon, you¡¯re on your way to becoming the next God of Chefs! Keep up the great work!¡¯ I read on, beginning to get more intrigued as I scan the white text. What piques my interest the most, however, is the line reading ¡®Level 1 Chef Magic unlocked¡¯. I wonder what this means, but I save my questions for later, for when I experiment with this magic stall and ingredients thing. Another line pops up, ¡®Exiting blessing screen in 5 seconds!¡¯. My vision goes dark again and I pass out. Light shines through a window as my body rises up in my bed, a wave of tiredness and slight pain hits me as I awaken. Sitting against the backboard of the bed, my eyes wander to the corner of the room, where an almost divine light shines. My eyes adjust to the light, and I see a figure inside it. The figure walks towards me, and the light follows it, slightly hurting my eyes as I continue to stare. ¡°Hey, Rordon! How are ya doin man!¡± the figure says. I reply, ¡°Jim? Is that you?¡± ¡°Yes, it¡¯s me! How have you been? I saw you just leveled up, and wanted to check up on you!¡± ¡°Thanks for checking up on me, but could you tune your fucking divine light or whatever that shite around you is? It¡¯s kinda blinding me.¡± ¡°Oh, I forgot! My bad Rordon, I completely meant to turn that off, but I guess I forgot. It is a bit hard being a divine, all-seeing god and all that!¡± ¡°It¡¯s fine, so why are you here other than to check up on me?¡± ¡°I¡¯m also here to retcon a bit, fix some mistakes, and explain some stuff.¡± ¡°Retcon? What do you mean by that?¡± ¡°You¡¯re not experienced enough in this world to understand what retcon means yet.¡± ¡°Oh alright, so by explaining some stuff, what did you mean by that?¡± ¡°So, you know when I said you¡¯d ¡®May as well just be reincarnated as a god¡¯? Well, I did mean that.¡± ¡°Oh shit, so that explains the text I saw earlier. ¡° ¡°Yes it does Rordon, you¡¯re on your way to becoming the next God of Chefs. Technically, you¡¯d be the first in all reality. The first one that has a physical body, and can do a bit more than just grant a single person a blessing anyway. Anyways, I wish you luck on your journey, by the way, don¡¯t show others that money wallet of yours. While I do say this is an RPG like world, with individual statistics for others, that wallet is essentially a divine item with an endless supply of money. That can¡¯t be used for the Chefspace, unfortunately. Anyways, I¡¯m out of here, have fun on your adventures, I¡¯ll check in some other time!¡± ¡°Alright then, have fun with your being God and all that. See you later, Jim!¡± Jim starts to float, rising towards the roof of the building, and phases through it. I proceed to leave my bed and feel a bandage wrapped around my arm. It¡¯s very slightly stained with red, and it aches a fair amount. But, I put the sensation of pain in the back of my mind, and instead focus on heading out, and finding some alleyway to summon my stall at so I can experiment with it. Heading down the stairs, I hear a voice call out to me, ¡°Rordon are you all right? A party of adventurers came in here and carried you up to your room! They said you protected them from a party of kill-stealers, and got hurt for them!¡±Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site. I recognize the voice as Gwali, the inskeep, ¡°Yes Gwali, I¡¯m quite fine now. Just a few scratches ha-ha!¡± I chuckle slightly at the end of my reply, hoping that Gwali won¡¯t carry on the talk for too long. ¡°Ha ha, that¡¯s my boy!¡± Gwali laughs loudly, before continuing, ¡°You need food? It¡¯s on the house!¡± ¡°No thanks, Gwali. I¡¯m actually about to head out to find somewhere to set up a stall to sell some food at. I may be an adventurer, but I am a cook at heart you know! ¡°Alright right Rordon, keep in mind you do have a free meal on the house though, so do come to eat it at some point!¡± ¡°Alright, Gwali! By the way, do you know of any good place to set up a stall at?¡± ¡°Actually, I do! I have a friend down on the street that¡¯s two behind us. There¡¯s always a large number of stalls there selling food, you¡¯ll fit right in Rordon!¡± ¡°Alright, thanks, Gwali! I should be back in about 4-5 hours, and I¡¯ll be wanting some food!¡± ¡°Of course Rordon! See you then!¡± I end my conversation with Gwali and head out to an alleyway near the street Gwali mentioned. After checking to make sure nobody was around, I summon the stall. It materializes in front of me, with a small flash of light. After looking around again to make sure nobody notice the light, I begin to check out the surprisingly large stall. It¡¯s about the size of a slightly large desk, with a space cut out in the middle to fit someone in. Under the countertop, there are shelves with various spices, and a small refrigerator, which doesn¡¯t contain much yet. I see a button under the counter, I press it, and a window pops up in front of me. ¡®Welcome to the Chefspace Shop Interface! You can purchase ingredients, cooking tools, and various other items related to the art of cooking here! You can purchase on a per recipe basis, or individual ingredients to make your own foods and recipes! All level one ingredients and items are free for you for now! Go out there and make the God of Chefs proud!¡¯ I finish reading the window and start to browse through it. I see a section with various tabs that read, ¡®Ingredients¡¯, ¡®Knives¡¯, and many others. I go to a tab called, ¡®Recipes¡¯ and start to browse through it. Under the recipes tab, there is a section called ¡®Street Food¡¯. I browse through it and find a recipe from Earth for Ca? kebab?. I decide to purchase it, and since it¡¯s a level 1 recipe, it costs nothing. The items for cooking it materialize in and around my stall, a spit for the meat appears on the counter next to me, and a wood fire underneath it. The meat also appears on it, pre-marinated and pre-cooked thankfully. To my right, a series of bamboo skewers appears, and various tools for slicing the meat off the large roast appear as well. My stall seems ready to go, so I wheel it out to the street filled with stalls. A lot of traffic occurs here, so I prepare to get ready to sell immediately and start to decide on a price. As I am thinking, a sign appears that reads, ¡°Ca? kebab?, 5 stone Denarus per serving.¡± I hang it out front, and await customers. Around 5 minutes after setting up my humble stall, my first customer arrives. Drawn by the rich fragrances wafting from the Ca? kebab?, he finds himself at my stalls counter. ¡°Hey cook, whatcha got here?¡± the man asks, with a slight accent. ¡°Ah, I have something called, Ca? kebab?. Essentially, just lamb that¡¯s marinated in basil, black pepper, salt, and sliced onions for about a day, then roasted. 5 stone denarus a serving.¡± I reply back to the man, who¡¯s now observing the meat on the spit, slowly turning over the fire. ¡°I¡¯ll take two servings, here¡¯s 10 stone, chef.¡± I receive the money and begin to cut off two servings of the Ca? kebab? for the customer. After placing the serving onto their respective skewers, I hand them to the customer, who immediately takes a strong whiff of the smell emanating from the skewers. After that, he goes to try out the food given to him. He takes a bite, and juices from the meat begin to slightly leak down his chin, as he stops chewing to savor the burst of flavor that just entered his mouth. He quickly scarfs down the rest of his first serving, before pausing to say something. ¡°Chef, this incredibly flavorful meat is just simply delicious! It¡¯s so incredibly juicy and mouthwatering. As soon as I bit into it, an explosion of strong flavor that can only be acquired by careful watching and cooking of the meat. The meat was just so well cooked, it nearly melted in my mouth when it first entered! How did you do this, I must know!¡± ¡°Well sir, it¡¯s quite simple really, as I said earlier. I just let the slices of the meat, and most importantly, large amounts of tail fat, to marinate in a mixture of basil, black pepper, salt, and sliced onions for about a day. After that, I just stacked the meat and the fat tightly together on a spit, and let it roast. The reason it¡¯s so flavorful is because of the fat specifically. Due to the fire, the fat melts all over the meat, essentially covering it in the flavor from the marinade, and having the meat suck it all up.¡± ¡°This Ca? kebab? as you call it was simply amazing. I am honestly willing to employ you in my restaurant as head chef, you will get a salary of 10 silver denarus a week, and a small house nearby. Please join my restaurant!¡± ¡°No thanks mate, I¡¯m good just being free to cook whatever I want whenever! I plan on traveling around the world, and gaining more knowledge about cooking, and hopefully spreading knowledge too! Eventually, when I want to settle down, I¡¯ll probably start up a restaurant of my own! But, thanks for the offer, valued customer.¡± ¡°Oh, well, if you ever change your mind, the name of my restaurant is, The Silver Roof. It¡¯s off in the middle of the city, you can¡¯t miss it either, as it has a silver roof! You are always welcome here!¡± ¡°I¡¯ll have to drop by some time, may I get your name?¡± ¡°Ah yes, I am Ned Stone. Ask for me if you ever get to the restaurant. I, unfortunately, must take my leave now! I hope to see you again!¡± ¡°Alright, see ya, Ned! By the way, my name¡¯s Rordon, it was nice to meet you. I¡¯ll definitely come to see you unless something major comes up!¡± We finish our conversation, and I watch Ned walk off. After he turns a corner, a few more customers are intrigued, and come to line up. I start to get to work to serve the customers their Ca? kebab?. A few hours after receiving my first customer, a group of people in black shirts start walking towards my stall. Feeling scared, my hand on the carving knife for the Ca? kebab? tightens as they continue their advance to me. The customers currently in line, start to scatter quickly after seeing the men walk up to me. They finally arrive and start to speak to me. ¡°Are you the owner of this stall? Seems you¡¯re new around here! I¡¯m Mick, and we¡¯re part of a local¡ security force that protects all the stalls in this area! You give us about 15% of your total daily profit, and we¡¯ll protect you from ne¡¯er-do-wells. How about it?¡± ¡°Well Mick, I think I am quite capable of protecting myself. How about instead, you purchase some food, and see if my stall is worth protecting in the first place huh?¡± I reply back sharply, intending to cause some irritation. Mick slams his hand down on the counter and bites back with, ¡°Well you want to do it that way huh? Then bring it on, your food can¡¯t possibly be that fucking good!¡± As I¡¯m about to reply, a loud ding sounds off in my head, similar to back in the forest. Temporary access is granted to usage Chef Magic to use in your cooking to show these people that your cooking is good! These words appear in the top of my vision, slightly startling me, as it¡¯s one of the first times something like this has appeared. My head starts to hurt immensely, like a really bad headache. After the pain passes, I feel knowledge of using this ¡°Chef Magic¡± appear in my mind, as if it¡¯s something I¡¯ve practiced for years. When I begin to think of how to use this newfound power to cook with, the large man in front of me stares at me with an expression of disgust, ¡°Are you fucking retarded mate? Chop-chop, make me some food ya cunt.¡± he says. Adhering to his wishes and vulgar language, I begin to look for a suitable and quick recipe to make. As I¡¯m scrolling through the Chefspace interface, I come across a recipe for ¡®Level 1 Esquites¡¯. I tap on it, wondering what makes it different. As the ingredients scroll by, a name catches my eye. ¡°Mana Soaked Maize¡± it reads, I tap on it, and a small box with more information on the ingredient pops up, ¡°Mana Soaked Maize: Corn grown in a mana-rich environment, or mana enriched soil. Can lead to the recovery of mana in the consumer¡± After reading this, I decided to make it. I tap on the ¡°purchase¡± button, and the ingredients appear below the counter, ready for me to get to making the food. I pull out a pot from under the counter, and I put it on top of a heating element to my right, turning it on to start to boil water. I produce water from my hands with this new, ¡°Chef Magic¡± that I was granted to use in my shops cooking. After dumping in a bunch of salt and stirring it around to mix the salt into the water, I start to wait for it to boil. I can make water boil much quicker if I use my magic, but I¡¯d rather the mean cunts waiting for food, wait for just that much longer. Once the water starts to boil, I produce four ears of the ¡°Mana Soaked Maize¡± and drop them in the pot. When the leader of the group of people accosting me notices this, he starts to berate me while I cook. Saying things like, ¡°Dude, how the fuck can corn be used to make good food? Corn is poor people¡¯s food mate, sorry to say. You will not be able to sate me with just this corn, and whatever other shit you¡¯ve prepared. But, I¡¯ll give ya the chance to try. I just want to see your face when we destroy your fucking stall!¡± I ignore him and continue on cooking. A few minutes go by, and I grab a pair of tongs to pull the corn out of the pot, a sweet scent wafts from the pot, invigorating me slightly. I place the ears of corn onto a platter, and produce a cold breeze from the palm of my hands, to cool down the corn quick enough to make it workable.Did you know this story is from Royal Road? Read the official version for free and support the author. After cooling it down, I produce a serrated knife from under counter and begin to remove the kernels from the corn. While my knife is sliding down the side of the corn, I hear a small gasp from behind, one of the people who walked in with the seeming leader of the group exclaims, ¡°That¡¯s Mana Soaked Maize! That ingredient is famously hard to work with because when it¡¯s improperly cooked, the corn loses all of the mana contained within it. When the mana is gone, the corn starts to shrivel up, and turn black!¡±. I disregard his comment and finish removing the kernels from the corn. I produce four cups, and put the corn into each, relatively equally. Once that is finished, I start to top each of them, with equal combinations of about a tablespoon each of mayonnaise and butter. Then I sprinkle them with chili powder, about a tablespoon of crumbled queso fresco, and salt. A combination of smoky, sweet, spicy, and tangy is within the cup, and the smell drifting out of it advertises the dish very well. ¡°Food¡¯s done mate, it¡¯s a little something called, ¡®Esquites¡¯ that I made. I hope you enjoy your meal.¡± I tell the large man in front of me, whilst handing him the cup filled with corn and toppings. ¡°Fine, I¡¯ll eat your, ¡®Esquites¡¯ as you say. Can¡¯t wait for them to be shi¡ Oh shit, what¡¯s this smell coming from this cup?¡± The man exclaims, changing him trying to berate me, to noticing the smell from the cup. The man goes to eat, grabbing a spoon, and digging into the corn, getting a little bit of everything as the spoon goes down. He lifts it to his mouth, and then he eats the food. The man¡¯s eyes start to water, and as he is done swallowing, he exclaims, ¡°HOLY FUCKING SHIT MAN, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY WONDROUS!¡±. After his shout, he quickly calms down, and asks in a light voice, ¡°Why is this so damn good? I thought corn was just food that was cheap and didn¡¯t taste too good?¡± ¡°Well, it¡¯s mostly because of the combination of smoky, sweet, spicy, and tangy spices that are used as a topping for the corn. Also, the kind of corn matters here too, this ¡®Mana Soaked Maize¡¯ which I¡¯ve used, really pairs well with the toppings, and the mana inside invigorates and tastes really good too, my dear customer.¡± I say this with a hint of sarcasm at the end of the sentence, as I don¡¯t really like the man in front of me. ¡°Well, this is honestly, amazing. I didn¡¯t really expect much from you at the start, and it is honestly my fucking fault. I shouldn¡¯t have berated you before mate. I¡¯m gonna take my leave, feel free to set up your stall wherever, but here especially!¡±. The man says as he starts to walk away, taking the rest of his group along with him. After this, I begin to get ready to leave, taking my stall into the alley nearby, I unsummon it, and walk towards the inn. Sometime later, in the inn. I sit down on my bed, it sounds out with a loud creak. As I begin to wind down for the day, having spent most of the day cooking, a loud ring resounds in my head, as a set of text appears in front of me. Congratulations, Rordon, for completing the quest, ¡°Show these fat cunts how good your cooking is!¡±. Rewards Granted: Blessing of the God of Chefs XP, Access to use of Chef Magic to use in cooking! Congratulations, you¡¯re well on your way to becoming the next God of Chefs! The text slowly fades away from my vision, as I lay down in my bed, and head to the realm of sleep.
