《The final boss refuses to die》 Chapter 1 - Stolen from my world Why did this happen? I don''t know. How did this happen? I don''t know. You see, I died. No biggie there. However, as a devout follower of nihilism, I should have just forever gone to sleep or at least had my consciousness erased or something. However, I have not, as you should know by the fact that I am not, well, dead. Instead, right after dying at the hands of something that I can''t remember for some god-knows-reason, I found myself in a new, unfamiliar body. I''m not entirely unfamiliar with the whole transmigration thing that sometimes happens in mangas, animes or novels, however, those are just that, fiction. Unfortunately, for me, this is not fiction, even though it would be kinda cool if my whole life was actually a book or something that someone just wrote out of boredom. Nevermind, that''s actually really depressing. I should probably go back to checking outthe same exact fucking wall I''ve been staring at for an entire god damn day. Yeah, I think I''m starting to go insane.
When I woke up, I was very surprised, and it would be a lie to say that I didn''t panic a bit. I mean, who wouldn''t, really? Nonetheless, as the calm and collected person that I am (pfft), I soon calmed down and began to sort out all the new memories that I suddenly found in my brain. It was kind of a cool experience, albeit a bit weird and disorienting. I won''t go too much into details, but apparently, the world I was reborn into was one filled with monsters and magic. Though that bit was obvious enough judging by the fact that my body is... abnormal. After going through all the information that I gained, I realized that this world was the exact same one as the one in Fallen Utopia Online. With nobility ruling the world from the shadows, demons threatening to destroy the world, heroes wielding the power of light and hope... I honestly didn''t know what to say about it. After comparing notes with me, myself and I, I realized that the body I currently possess is the very same one the final bossed had. Hence, adding two and two together, my beautifully smart mind came to the conclusion that I am a normal human. ... Yeah, I wish. Having a body that is literally a hundred meters tall and with a snake-like lower body surely makes me a normal human. The Ruler of the Hells. The Sovereign of Death and Darkness. The Hardest Boss. It was a once-in-a-lifetime boss capable of taking on multiple top-tier guilds at once and still winning. The only way to defeat it was, simply put, cheat your way into victory. The boss had around 999.999.999 health with a regen rate of over 10.000 health per second, so it was impossible to defeat it under normal means. Nonetheless, the developers decided that, although players couldn''t kill it, they could still seal it if they went through a tedious and ridiculously long quest chain that would eventually let a person seal the boss away. I naturally wasn''t there for when it happened, but I do know that the players that eventually managed to do it received rewards worth tens of thousands of real-world money. Not a small amount.Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator. Anyways, after sealing it, the boss just kind of faded away from all the hype. There were a couple of other insanely strong bosses, but none as insane as this one was. In the end, after a book about the game came out, the boss ended up being referred to as an evil god whose goal was to get revenge on the Overgod who created the world. Although there are some bits and pieces missing, most of the book written back then coincides with the memories of the boss. There is just one piece missing, and that is the boss'' name. For example, in the book, the boss was stated to be some sort of incarnation of evil, but in the memories, I can safely conclude that it was all just a huge misunderstanding. The boss never truly wanted to be the villain. Sure, it wasn''t an exactly moral character, but it was by no means what the book made it out to be, even if it was only side-mentioned a couple times. In his memories, the boss was simply too strong, and always ended up breaking things. Or people. Or both. I sighed. The book never even recorded the boss'' real name, which the developers never leaked out. However, I do know. Atlantis, or Atlas for short. The Overgod had created him as the very first inhabitant of the world, and for that reason, always had a very intimate relationship with him. Despite that, after a while, the Overgod was forced to completely let go of the world and only watch from above, never intervening. Despite that, it would sometimes give Atlas instructions. The Overgod always sought perfection, and to achieve perfection, one needed change. Humans didn''t like that, so they sealed Atlas away. At least, that''s what my memories tell me. Atlas'' memories. It''s complicated. There is nothing stating why exactly Atlas died, if it did, that is. All I know is that I am stuck in his body. My body. With a surprisingly soft sigh coming from a 100-meter monster, I silently looked at all the chains tightly coiling around my arms, neck and the 10 rings piercing into the skin of my tail. I could barely move. Despite this body''s tyrannical strength, these chains were rumored to have been made from the very core of the world, and they were not so easy to break. Furthermore, he can''t even use magic since the Overgod considered it treacherous and being the daddy''s princess that I am, I have to obey him. Another thing I idly noted was that, surprisingly, I didn''t feel all that uncomfortable in my new body. Even after only a day of being in here, I already felt the repulsion fade away. Sure, it''s not easy to adapt to a body that is a mix between a giant snake and a demon, but it''s not as bad as it sounds. After all, Atlas'' body was more like that of a naga, with a human torso and head along with a snake-like lower body. There are some horns and spikes here and there, but it''s notthat different from a human. In fact, it''s not even that bad. Just being alone, chilling here, with nothing to do nor anyone to have to obey... it''s not bad. Just... I felt somewhat... sad. It''s hard to explain... I just felt empty. "... Father... I miss you." I whispered as, for unknown reasons, a single tear slid down my cheek. Chances are, that tear could very well contain a poison strong enough to kill a thousand grown men, and yet, I couldn''t even find the humor to make a joke out of it. "..." I didn''t say anything for the next hour. Atlas only needed to feed on the mana everywhere to live, so I would never starve to death, and yet, a feeling similar to hunger gnawed at me. My stomach hurt and my chest tightened painfully. It was bullshit. Didn''t I have the strongest body in this world? Aren''t I the mighty Atlas, the first creation? Why do I have to feel pain like this? I wanted to move, but I couldn''t. The chains never even budged an inch, no matter how hard I tried. After yet another hour of suffering, I started crying. It was pitiful, and yet, I could clearly remember Atlas, I, crying several times like this. Truth be told, despite his fierce appearance, Atlas was never particularly brave. He would get the job done, but I could never do it splendidly. I would always fail, end up messing up somewhere. No matter what I did. Even during the fight with the ''heroes'', the only reason Atlas lost was that he ended up running away. If he hadn''t, he never would have ended up in that cursed trap. It was unbearable. As a human in my past life, I had only lived a measly 27 years. Meanwhile, Atlas had lived for millions, and he had spent over a thousand years locked in this cage. For a lowly human like me to understand just how long a thousand years truly is would be impossible if I did not have all of Atlas'' memories. Having spent a thousand years, locked in here alone, Atlas had at first been pissed and angry, but as time passed, I became desperate. I was alone. A lowly existence, a human, eventually found it''s way into the mighty Atlas. Nobody knows how, not even the Overgod. And yet, neither Atlas nor the human rejected each other, for they each were similar in their own ways. As the days passed, a strange fusion happened. Chapter 2 - Life as a prisoner Hello! Giant snake-demon-human-giant-titan-monster Atlantis reporting to myself! Today has been really fun. At morning, I saw a rat scurrying by. A couple hours later, the rat passed by me again! It even sniffed me... Although it quickly ran away. Which was kind of a shame as I liked that fellow... Anyway, a couple hours later, I saw a bug! It was an ant to be precise, and no, it wasn''t some giant ant or something, just a very, very small ant. ... Yeah, I''m fucking bored. This is so unfair, when I read my novels, the protagonists there always fun stuff to do. I can''t even move my body! Hell, I can''t even stretch! I sighed. I feel like I''ve been doing that a lot lately, which is depressing. My existence is depressing. That wall is depressing. These chains are depressing. However, I did at least sort through all of my(?) memories. Atlas wasn''t a million-year-old demigod after all, and his reservoir of knowledge could bring even the most sapient of sages to bow in shame. I won''t go too much into detail, but I can finally consider myself and Atlas as one entity. I didn''t learn of why the human and Atlas joined, but out of that came me, so hurray! From what I learned, the human, which is not me anymore, but still is in a way, somehow ended up coming to this universe and entered into Atlas'' body, who did not even notice it because he was far too deep into depression. Depressing, isn''t it? (nice pun) Then, since the human''s soul was pitifully weak but had strong consciousness, and Atlas'' soul who was very powerful but with no will left, the two somehow merged to create the entity that is me. Truth be told, even I don''t know how to feel about this. It''s kind of like those transgender people, but also not. I feel like Atlas on one part, but human on the other. Kind of weird, but woe is me, so fuck it. I don''t even care. You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story. Be it the human or Atlas, both want to get out of here, and me, the result, naturally also wants to get my giant ass outta here. No matter how much of a shut-in or introvert someone can be, there''s no way they''d spend 1000 years locked up like a prisoner with nothing to do but think about sheep jumping over fences... Right? However, it appears I am not a protagonist, since where the hell is my cheat or lucky event? I''ve been stuck here, after fusing mind you, for a fucking year. I''ve done nothing this whole time but go through my memories again and again whilst staring at a wall. I can describe it really well now at least. It has 53829 bricks building it, 42% of them are black, 8% are grey and 50% are blue. There is a large entrance with a tunnel behind it that goes somewhere. Where? I don''t know. The tunnel is around 4 meters in height and 8 meters in width. There are no other entrances to this room, and all the other walls are the same. The room itself is gigantic. Measuring at least 250 meters in height, even I with my gigantic size could easily jump without hitting anything. The base of the room is circular, with a diameter of 300 meters. Apart from me, the only other thing in this cursed place was the giant chains coiling tightly around me. No matter what I try, they refuse to budge. There are 100 of them in total, with 4 of them forming a collar around my neck, each of the chains attached to a different corner of the room. Then, each of my two arms had 5 rings on them, each ring with 5 chains. Finally, all the other chains coiled around my abdomen, chest and lower body. I don''t know why, despite my lower body being much slimmer than my upper part, I could not slither my way out. What''s even more annoying is that these chains are intelligent. Or they seem to be, at least. If I try to move my belly, the chains will converge there and block me. If I try moving the tip of my tail, the chains will pull it back. In short, they arereally fucking annoying. I gave up hope of escaping right after digesting all my memories. Even the old me could not do it, and he had a thousand years to try. However, there is a glimmer of hope that I could hold on to. It had never happened before, but there was a chance that a human or something with equivalent intelligent might stumble into the dungeon and reach me. Then, I could possibly beg them to help me, promise them power and other things. Things everybody wants, in short. That said, hopefully, they won''t attack me. Oh, that''s not because I am scared. It would just be a shame to throw away my escape opportunity. After all, my body is still that of a serpent, even if only partially. And what''s a snake''s best weapon? No, it''s not intelligence, it''s poison. Well, there is really nothing I can do. Therefore I am going to wait. And wait. And wait. Wait for it... ... ... ... I''m bored... Chapter 3 - L Beuties It has been 12 years ever since I was ''reborn'', as some people could say. During this time, other than making up bad jokes and trying to entertain myself by watching the walls, I didn''t really do anything. There really is no way around it, unless I somehow find a savior of sorts, I simply cannot get out of here. I know as a fact that, rather than being sealed in an impossible-to-complete dungeon, I was sealed inside of a hidden one, where very few people know it even exists. I have tried using every ability I possess to free myself. Fire breaths capable of melting any metal, acid that can kill a dragon in less than a minute, I even tried to bite the chains after a particularly annoying failure, but all that came out of it was me breaking a couple teeth and getting more frustrated. I can regenerate basically any wound, even if my body is torn into a thousand pieces, however, I cannot heal boredom. Alas, today, I finally saw a glimmer of hope. It was a normal day, or whatever time it was since I have no reference points to actually know the time. I was in a half-asleep state when I heard some very, very small roars coming from far away. I had heard these roars a couple times before, but this time, it was different. They sounded pained, angry. After a couple hours, the roars stopped and I could hear a somewhat louder ''thump'' noise. Praying to Father, I silently repeated to myself, "You can get out... You can get out... Just play it right..." As minutes passed, I felt a tension I never felt before. It''s the kind of tension before receiving your test results, and knowing your life depends on it. Who these people were, if they were people at all, would determine if I regained my freedom or not, hence, being tense was normal. As the footsteps drew closer, I could hear loud laughter and giggles. Despite gaining a body with senses far exceeding anything I could have imagined as a human, I was by no means Father, an omnipotent and omnipresent being. I too had limits. I could make out that the voices belonged to two girls, relatively young too. They sounded human too, which was... not great, as humans and greed are often synonyms, but I hope I can offer them something in exchange for my freedom. If not, then I''ll just eat them up, as despite being able to feed on mana, I still enjoy worldlydelicacies...
We had come very far since our darkest days. Despite all the struggles we went through, we finally succeeded. We conquered a dungeon! I was born a princess, however, after my father was dethroned by our uncle, I was the only survivor of the ensuing slaughter. As a mere 12 years old, I was reduced to begging and stealing. For 4 years I lived this life until Clara found me. Despite being a commoner, Clara was an exceedingly smart and learned person, however, she was mainly a warrior. She saved me from some thugs that had cornered me and gave me a better life. Soon, we drew closer and closer. We ate together, trained together, fought together, and at one point in time, even began sleeping together. After a long time, I told her everything about myself. Of how I was a princess and how my uncle was the king. She made it our dream to take back what was rightfully mine. We decided that our first step in the journey needed to be conquering a dungeon. It isn''t unheard of, but should we succeed, the money and fame we could receive would allow us a chance to go against my uncle. This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. Finally, a year later and much, much training, we finally defeated the dungeon boss. It was a huge chimera with four heads, each head possessing a different element. It had been a very tough fight. Thanks to my early training in magic, I was a decent mage, especially since I possessed both the fire and light attribute, and this was mainly the reason why we won. Clara is a warrior through and through. She doesn''t have a beefy appearance, however, her muscles hide an explosive strength. Wielding a large broadsword, she held the Manticore at bay whilst I whittled it down with fire magic and at the same time healed her. By the time the battle was over, I fell to my knees, breathing hard and sweat rolling down my forehead. Clara too looked tired, however, it did nothing to deter her natural charm. With a loud laugh, she ran over to me and picked me up in a hug and spun me around. "We did it! We did it, Maria!" Laughing, I answered softly, "Yes... We did..." However, I felt something was wrong since from what I heard after you defeat the dungeon boss, the dungeon should just... disappear, after rewarding the conquerors with a dungeon core and all the accumulated treasures it slowly created through its existence. Soon, Clara noticed this too. She set me down with a stone face and looked around. After a little bit, she walked over to one of the walls and narrowed her eyes looking at it. Soon, her eyes widened as she muttered, "What... What is this?" After a while of trying to find out just what Clara saw, Maria finally discovered it too. Letting out a small gasp, she couldn''t help but cry out, "That''s the Great Evil One''s mark!" Confused, Clara asked, "The Great Evil One? Who is that fucker?" Taking a deep breath, Maria explained, "Back when I was still a princess, my father would always tell me stories about the history of our kingdom. Many, many years ago, titans of immense power roamed the earth along with mighty heroes. The Great Evil One was one of those titans, even considered one of the strongest." Narrowing her eyes, Clara nodded and gestured for Maria to continue. Maria bit her lips as she spoke in a hard voice, "Well... The Great Evil One was eventually sealed away by a group of powerful heroes. Legends say that, in their battle, the entire country was devastated. Right before being sealed, the Great Evil One cursed all the heroes along with several other powerful entities about to be sealed. Together, they sent all the heroes to another dimension, never to return." Letting out a small ''oooh'', Clara nodded with wide eyes. "Well, let''s go and see it! If it''s truly sealed, we can easily kill it and earn amazing loot!" Lightly punching Clara in the gut, Maria berated, "Are you stupid? That''s a legendary demigod we''re talking about! It could kill an army in a single breath, and back then, the average soldier was stronger than today''s elite royal guards!" Rubbing the back of her head, Clara laughed awkwardly. Maria sighed but her eyes still burned with longing. She looked at Clara deep in the eyes as she grabbed her hand tightly. "... This may be our only chance." Suprised, Clara asked, "What? Why?" Maria closed her eyes for a moment in reminiscence before opening them up again and explaining, "Before being sealed, the Great Evil One made a vow. It promised to fulfill any request of anyone who could free it..." Hearing this, Clara couldn''t help but grasp Maria''s hand right back. Nodding wordlessly, the two girls entered a large, hidden tunnel that opened after solving a small puzzle. As they walked through this tunnel, they both couldn''t help but admire the spectacular craftsmanship. Images of great beings seemed to appear and fade away in a breath''s time, entire stories drawn inside of these beautiful halls. After a very long walk, they finally entered a large room. It was very dark in here, so dark, they couldn''t see their own noses. "Maria! Are you there?" Clara called out as the two held hands. "Yeah, I''m here." Maria nodded, even though she knew Clara couldn''t see her. Together, they kept walking. Soon, the two arrived in front of a large wall. Seeing it, Clara couldn''t help but frown as she shouted, "Great Evil Oneeee, where areee youuuuu?" A loud rumbling noise echoed through the whole room as the wall shifted back a little. Seeing this, Maria couldn''t help but gasp as several lights turned on in the room, revealing the true entity of the wall. Maria cried out in fear as a monster hundreds of meters tall revealed itself. With the lower body of a snake and the upper body of a human, the monster looked at the two ant-sized girls with a cold gaze. "Welcome to my humble abode, humans..." Chapter 4 - Deal "Welcome, to my lair, humans! I am the Destroyer, the Shatterer of Nations, Atlas!" I said in a deep voice. "No, that sounds cringy..." "Humans... I am the Giant Serpent, why are you in my abode?" I practiced again. I could hear them coming closer and closer, and I still had no idea of what to say. I needed a good impression, and yet I had no idea how to get one! Finally, I saw the humans entering, and as I had guessed, they were two relatively young women. Quite beautiful at that, but then again, I am not interested in humans anymore. One had long blonde hair and the physique of a frail princess, but I could tell she was a magician of sorts, probably a priest. Meanwhile, the other woman had short red hair and was much beefier, holding a greatsword in both of her hands. It was somewhat funny for a moment, as they didn''t even see me for a bit. I know I''ve become quite in tune with the surrounding, but to not even see my blue scales compared to the red walls makes me somewhat depressed. When they did finally see me, they started shrieking like little girls... which I guess fits them. It makes sense for anyone to scream when they see the great me though, so I won''t judge. I''m just that cool. "Welcome to my humble abode, humans..." I said. My voice was high for a giant snake monster, but I don''t really care. The girls soon stopped shrieking after a while, or more importantly, seeing me tied up real good. It took a while for them to calm down, but nonetheless, they finally did. The skinnier girl walked forward and knelt in front of my body, not daring to look at me in the eyes. "Great Evil One! I beseech you, help me with my goal!" I stared at her for a good dozen of seconds. She began fidgeting under my gaze, however, the beefier girl stared at me straight back with a challenging look. "What''s your problem, snake? Too tied up to even talk?" She asked after a while of silence on my part. The skinnier girl panicked and tried to get her to apologize, but the beefy woman refused to listen to good reason. "Stop, Clara! We need its help!" she shouted as she repeatedly prostrated to me. I laughed. They both stopped and looked at me. I couldn''t help but laugh even harder. It had been such a long time since I had seen humans that I almost forgot how stupid they can be. "I would love for you girls to entertain me for a while longer, alas, I am somewhat tired of this... confinement," I said, moving my arms slightly in order to show them. The entire cave rumbled with my movement but didn''t give out. I had tried far harder and nothing had happened, so I was confident the cave would hold now that my salvation was so close. The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. Support the author by reading it there. The frailer girl shook slightly for some reason, but her eyes revealed a burning look filled with determination. My favorite gaze, the one of a person ready to give up anything for their goal. "Tell me, girlie, what is it you want?" I said, straining my entire body to the limit to lower my upper body all the way down, my face now less than 10 meters away from her. She closed her eyes for a moment and clenched her fists, and when she opened them she half-yelled, "I wish for you to help me take back my kingdom!"
The monster''s gigantic face was scarily close to me. So close, in fact, I could feel it''s breath on my entire body. Although calling this thing''s breath a tornado would be quite accurate. Even just one of its pupils was larger than my entire body. It looked human if you were to ignore the snake-like lower body starting from the waist and its teeth-filled mouth. I couldn''t help but hold my breath after saying what I wanted. However, the monster didn''t seem fazed at all by the request as it looked at me in the eyes once again. I shivered. I couldn''t help it. Looking into its eyes was like staring at a primordial demon that conducted more slaughters than seconds I have lived. However, I could also feel a tinge of absolute reason, the same reason I always felt whenever I looked at my father''s eyes. The eyes of someone who will do anything to get what they want. "Is that all?" It asked. I gulped as I nodded. Clara looked somewhat alarmed but had the decency to stay out of this. Words could not describe how thankful I felt for her efforts at controlling her hot-headedness. Its massive body leaned back, away from me and back into its original positions. The chains that had been furiously trying to drag it back relaxed as they coiled themselves around the giant. "Very well. Since you''ve stated what you want, you should know what I also want, correct?" It asked. If one were to ask me, it''s voice was similar to that of a woman, and yet, it''s human body obviously seemed male, which made me question its gender. However, that was not the problem. "Of course, uh..." I stopped for a second, trying to figure out what to call it. Seeing my dilemma, the monster quickly said, "You can call me Atlantis or Atlas. Sincewe will be allies soon, I should warn you that merely knowing my name, if discovered, will instantly make those crazed weirdos come looking for you." "Crazed weirdos...?" I asked, unsure. Albeit reluctantly, Atlas explained with a face that seemed to have chewed on horse shit. "Worshipper of Destruction, Chaos Followers, Massacre Priests... I don''t know what you call them these days, but back before I was sealed, those guys would always try to turn me and my siblings into deity-like figures and use our ''wills'' as an excuse to try to destroy the world. I erased a couple hundreds of their temples once after one of them dared to claim I am the absolute God. Such blasphemy!" Atlantis yelled as its eyes turned red. "Anyways... I''m assuming you know that I obviously want to get free. I can swear upon my existence that I will conquer your kingdom back for you should you free me and never take any actions against me." Atlantis stated. I don''t know what made me, but my very soul seemed to resound with his voice. "I, Princess Maria Jading, agree to Lord Atlantis'' deal!" A blue flame appeared out of nowhere, consuming both me and Atlantis in it. Clara screamed but stopped after a second. The flame was gone just as quickly as it appeared. "What was that!?" Clara yelled. "It''s a Soul Contract. Break it, you will disappear. The same holds true for me though." Atlantis laughed. I felt like I had been somehow cheated, but I don''t know how.
