《Adventurer Life》 Chapter 1: lets be an Adventurer In the world where monsters roaming and hunting living thing as their food, people live in fear for several years until one man decide to change humankind fate. He bravely stands and kills a monster that attacks his city, due to that event many humans begin to believe that they can defeat those monster and change the cycle of life in this world. Thus from that event, human rise to survive and began hunting monster as their job, these people that hunting and killing monster be called the [Adventurer]. As Adventure their job is to fulfill the demand of people which is being called as [Client], these clients will submit the job or known as [quest] to the [Adventure Guild] and many Adventurers will pick the quest base on its payment and their ability to complete the quest. In the town known as the [Pretio] live a young boy in a normal family, the boy named is Elliot, both of his eyes are blue and the hair is white in colour, today Elliot age reach 15 years old and the tradition of Pretio town when the teenager reaches the age of 15 they are considered as an adult and need to find work and learn to earn their own money. ¡°Elliot, now you are an adult. You need to find a job and start to be a useful person in your life¡± said the woman with white hair, she is Elliot¡®s mother. ¡°But mom, I don¡¯t wanna to do any job, why should I work hard, why I can¡¯t just be an adult who doesn¡¯t have to do anything for his life and then died without any achievement¡± state Elliot toward his mother. Anger after listening to her only child plan for future she kicks her son out of the house ¡°don¡¯t you dare to return to this house if you don¡¯t find any job until the end of this day¡± shout his mother in an angry tone. ¡°Why she needs to be a pain in the ass anyway, well it can¡¯t help I need to find a job as soon as possible. I don¡¯t wanna miss dinner tonight, mom cooking taste very good and I can¡¯t sleep without having a bite from her meals¡± says Elliot while smiling. As he walking around the town to find a job that he can do all he can see is a busy walk away with people and also the travelers, not to mention every shop is trying to attract the attention of people to buy at their store. But what catching Elliot''s eyes is a group of people wearing heavy armor and equipped with a huge weapon known as an Adventurer, ¡°they are so cool, but I don¡¯t wanna be that kind of guys risking their lives to fulfill a dangerous request from rich people¡± claim Elliot to himself. During his walk around the town, Elliot has been asking many shops whether they want to hire him as the worker but all the shop don¡¯t want to hire a boy who just turns to be adult today, most of the shop like blacksmith and armor craft don¡¯t hire Elliot because of his body not suitable for heavy work, his body is slim and at first look it doesn¡¯t seem to be able to handle hard work in the shop. ¡°I¡¯m dead, I can¡¯t even find a place that wanted to hire me as their worker, and how can I explain this to mom¡± while Elliot mumbling about his life, a young boy with black hair and black eyes come near him and give a slap on Elliot''s head, ¡°what you doing you lazy fox, it hard to see you walking outside your house¡± say the black hair boy. ¡°It hurt, oh it just you Alex, why you need to hit me whenever we meet¡± ask Elliot. Don¡¯t you know how many people die because they become an Adventurer?¡± states Elliot while chocking his friend neck, mad with his friend Elliot walk away from that place. ¡°What is your choice man, get killed by a monster or being killed by your own mother?¡± Alex asks, suddenly the image of her mother come to Elliot mind and his body start to tremble in fear and his face change like he just sees hell in front of his eyes. His mother is far scarier compared to other monsters, thus Elliot doesn¡¯t have any other option but to be an Adventurer in order to survive from his mother nagging. Both of them step into the building where they can see many adults gather and share their stories about their adventure and comparing their strength in arm wrestling. ¡°Whoa, this place much wilders compare to what I imagine, well lets us register our name over there,¡± says Alex while running toward the counter inside the building. Behind the counter stand a woman with a smile on her face, ¡°welcome to Adventure Guild and my name is Lisa, may I help you¡±, looking at that woman Alex face turn to red because of the beauty of that woman, ¡°Well me and my friend here want to register as Adventurer today¡± says Elliot after seeing his stupid friend has lost to his own imagination. Sitting at a table in the building, both of young boys thinking about what is the suitable choice they need to take, they having a hard time because they have zero knowledge on what is Profession and how many types it has. ¡°Can¡¯t we just pick anything that we think is cool and has a nice name on it, we have been sit here for one hour now¡± Alex has lost control of his patient and when he stands up, he unconsciously bumps on a guy with a huge sword on his back. ¡°Watch where you going young boy,¡± says the big guy, notice that Alex and Elliot seem to be a new Adventurer, he takes a chair a sit with them and ask whether they had a problem or not. Elliot asked the big guy about the Profession and based on the big guy info there are many Profession that both of them can be chosen like Swordsman which is good in speed and has moderate attack power, Knight has high defence and durability but lower speed, also there are Healer who is good in healing and support aid, Mages can deal high magic attack but not good in close combat, Fighter best in close quarter combat and can deal multiple damages in short time, Archer best-giving cover from behind, best-using arrow, and bow, Alchemy using multiple buff magic and able to create magic item depend on level, Thief good with knife and has high speed and also best in collect and gains money, Dark Knight can summon demon to help in battle, all the skill require a gold as the payment, Berserker focus on dealing damage to enemy, but lower in defence, Assassin a silence attacker, can track and trap the monster, good in scooting the perimeter and Tamer able to tame the monster and let it be pet, pet can be store and summon depend on the Tamer. ¡°That all I can share with both of you, make a wise decision because once you take a quest and go for hunt is just a line between live or dead, if you die, it mean that all you can do, but if you live, you gain a fame and can enjoy your life for tomorrow.¡± That speech really give impact and reachElliot and Alex heart, ¡°I will take Knight as mine Profession Elliot, it¡¯s having been my dream to become Paladin in the future,¡± says Alex with the face full of confident. As for Elliot, he doesn¡¯t want to be a meat shield for other, after several minutes thinking finally he has decided on his Profession ¡°I will take Archer, so I can give you cover from behind Alex¡± says Elliot while holding Alex''s shoulder. ¡°You can''t-fool me, dude, I know you take this Profession because you don¡¯t want to stand in front-line right and if you see me be defeat by a monster you will run away faster if you are an Archer, am I right Elliot?¡± Alex asks with the tone of angry about his friend way of thinking, Elliot replies with ¡°You really know me did you, do the best to be my shield,¡± seeing his friend doesn¡¯t even reject the fact that he will run away, Alex become angry and bite Elliot''s head. Everyone who is watching laugh because of their attitude and even place bet who will win in that fight. ¡°It seems you guys have decided on your Profession, from today onwards you officially become an Adventurers, please do the best of your ability to gains fame and money,¡± says Lisa, everyone in the hall begins to clap their hand to celebrate the new members inside their big family of Adventurer. ¡°Please come here tomorrow at 8¡¯o clock your training will begin later,¡± says Lisa again, Elliot asking ¡°what training and why we need to have one?¡± Lisa replies with the statement ¡°Well before both of you can do a quest, we will test your ability first to see your rank and the limits of a quest you can do¡±. After their business done, Elliot and Alex say their goodbye to each other. Elliot returns to his home just about time for dinner, her mother notices her son has returned then come to the front door and prepares to give a lecture about life. ¡°Do you get to find a job, Elliot? No don¡¯t answer, I already know it, you know, you really should change your attitude, if you keep on the lazy side of you, you will become a useless man in the future¡± Elliot mother nag non-stop then Elliot stopping his mother and say ¡°I has become an Adventurer mom, tomorrow I will start my practice¡±. Shocked after listening to her son answer, Elliot mother suddenly collapses in front of the door in their house, ¡°oh, no mom wake up please, don¡¯t collapse now, what about the dinner I hungry right now.¡± Chapter 2: The Beginning of an Adventure ¡°Elliot, wake up it morning already, did you tell me last night you have a morning practice today,¡± scream from Elliot mother can be heard by an outsider but Elliot still sleeping without any bother from his mother voice. ¡°This young boy is hopeless, wake up or there will be no breakfast for you,¡± says his mother, in flash Elliot, wake up and go to dining place to eat his breakfast. ¡°Thank you mom, your cooking is the best¡± praise Elliot to his mother, ¡°Now, you better do the best performance you could for training section, after eating my cooking, I would not forgive you if you slack away okay¡± says his mother, by looking Elliot¡¯s mother face, she seem happy that her son praise her meal not to forget able to get job. Elliot has reached the location that both he and Alex promise to meet, but he can¡¯t see Alex no matter where he looks. ¡°Maybe Alex just frighten and don¡¯t wanna do the training to decide our rank, well at least I got an excuse to tell my mom for not going to Adventure Guild, thanks, Alex¡± says Elliot, right before Elliot even take a single step to his home, he has been hit on his head by Alex who is late to reach the location they decide to meet. ¡°Ouch, you don¡¯t have to hit me every time we meet you know¡± complain, Elliot, ¡°Well you see, I just hit to make sure it was you, Elliot.¡± Claim Alex. ¡°What you mean by that you little kid,¡± says Elliot. ¡°Well you never woke up during this time so I thought you were someone who is in disguise.¡± ¡°That it''s, you going down today Alex¡± Elliot chases after Alex to give him payback for hitting his head, but Alex runs toward the Adventure Guild when they reach the Adventure Guild both of them try to catch up their breath. ¡°It nice to be young, very energetic in the early morning¡± greeting from Lisa, ¡°maybe you don¡¯t need to wearing heavy makeup to cover you age Mrs. Lisa,¡± says Elliot, during that time Lisa has unleashed her kick and send Elliot flying 3 meters away from original location. Alex who just watching has happened just able to put a fake smile on his face, ¡°you got something to say little bastard?¡± threat Lisa to Alex if he wants to end up like Elliot just now. After Elliot and Alex state their Profession, Elliot has been given a practice bow and few wooden arrow as for Alex he has been given a huge shield and a wooden sword. ¡°This battle will be held in 30 minutes, try to score many strikes on Brenrat to get a score and each of your scores will be count as the ability you got and also your rank¡± explains Lisa. Alex charge as soon as the battle begins, despite holding a large piece of shield and heavy sword Alex speed doesn¡¯t show any flaws, it looks like he has been practice every day for a fight, but Brenrat able to hold charge attack from Alex using his sword and make a few attack on Alex shield, Alex being forced to take defence stance to protect himself from being attack by Brenrat. As for Elliot, he just stands far away at the back and just watching his friend under attack, after seeing Elliot doesn¡¯t have any will to fight Brenrat pay full attention toward Alex and he tries to break Alex defense by giving heavy blows but Alex manages to hold up to the impact. Right before Brenrat continuous his attack on Alex, his left side of the body being hit by an arrow shot by Elliot, during entire battle Elliot doesn¡¯t let his eyes to miss any chance to land a clean hit on Brenrat. ¡°That guy, even his eyes do not show any fighting spirit but he has good pair of eyes to observe, and this black hair guy has high stamina to hold and defence during my attack¡± says Brenrat, Alex tries to scoring some mark by swing his sword in order to hit Brenrat chest, but Brenrat quickly avoid and Alex just able to hit his hand. Suddenly around Brenrat body, there is an aura in red surrounding his body, Elliot and Alex who seeing what happen to Brenrat know that he now is in a serious mood to fight. ¡°Don¡¯t let me down boys, here I came¡±, Brenrat disappear from Elliot and Alex eyes but suddenly appear right behind Alex and ready to strike Alex back. Elliot who able to follow those movements quickly shoot his arrow in order to cover Alex, but instead of hitting Brenrat his attack is directly hit Alex head. ¡°Watch it, Elliot, you shoot your own teammate here¡± shout Alex, looking for his opponent Elliot take on high guard but he doesn¡¯t notice Brenrat has been at behind him already, Brenrat kick Elliot back and slash Elliot back and then slash using his big sword. That attack makes Elliot faint and unable to fight, Alex attack with his sword try to challenge Brenrat but the distance between their ability is too large and not long after that Alex also unable to fight anymore in that battle. After Elliot and Alex wake up, the mock battle has already ended, Lisa has called them to tell them about their rank. ¡°Okay boys, based on your performance just now, all the examiner has decided that both of you will be placed at Bronze Rank,¡± said Lisa. Alex asks Lisa what is Bronze Rank and how many ranks that existed in the adventure system, according to Lisa, there is the highest ranking be called Gold followed by Platinum and then Metal next is Silver and lastly Bronze. ¡°So we just at the bottom of the level right,¡± says Alex, Lisa said, ¡°don¡¯t worry about the rank, if you showing a good result in each of your quests, you will be promoted to upper ranking.¡± Listen to Lisa explanation Alex jump up and try to hug her because of he too happy after hearing that he still can become a famous adventurer but before he manages to touch Lisa, Alex need to experiment on the same fate as Elliot in the morning. ¡°Then let me explain about your quest, skill and Profession¡± say Lisa with clapping her hand, based on Lisa explanation to Alex and Elliot, quest has been split into several levels which are S, A, B, C and D. S is the higher level of quest so that level S quest only available to Gold rank only, as for Elliot and his friend, they only can access D level quest only. Next, Lisa move on to explain about skill, during mock battle Brenrat has used a skill from Swordsman which is [Haste] to increase his speed in battle. Lisa says each Profession has its own unique skill and only the same Profession and use the same skill, but that skill has its limit to use per day. This is mean that each skill cannot be used continuously during the battle, once the point for that skill is fully uses, that person unable to use the same skill for a period of time. That limitation only applies to active skill, as for passive skill there is no limit to use because it always active after learning, to learn new skill adventurer need to pay a certain amount of money to guild and the price they need to pay depends on the level of that skill but he/she cannot learn skill that is above his current Profession. Special skill only can be learning through ancient scroll which can be found from Dungeon or from the boss or the strong monster.This story originates from a different website. Elliot with a yawn on his face states that ¡°Do we have money to buy those things? As you know I only have 10 bronze coins right now¡±. ¡°Oh no, we screw right after becoming an adventurer. Let¡¯s go to my house, my father is a merchant so maybe he can help us¡± says Alex. *At Alex house* Alex background comes from merchant family which sells and trade item from town to town, so his parent tends to be away from home. During that time Alex spends his time at Elliot house so that way they alike brother and be a best friend up until now. ¡°Hey dad, are you home?¡± scream Alex from the front door, they are walking around the house to find Alex father then reach his father study room, Alex opens the door and he can see his father sit on the chair and drink a cup of coffee. ¡°My mine is that my handsome son Alex, what can your father helps you with?¡± asked Alex father, Alex explain the situation he and Elliot in then his father take out few item under his table. ¡°Here for you Alex, a sword that uses to slay 100 dragons and the shield made up from the strongest steel in the world and for Elliot the bow made from the dragon hair and teeth as for arrow using the giant shark razor teeth. Because the adventurer tag will be finished at the end of the day, so Elliot plan to take it tomorrow morning ¡°Let¡¯s just go home for today, I bet mom has finish preparing the meals¡± thinking Elliot to himself, During dinner Elliot mother put 3 kind of coins on the table, ¡°listen here Elliot this is the currency in this world, first is the bronze coin is the lowest value, next the silver, one piece of silver equal to 100 of bronze, then you have a gold, 1 piece of gold equally to 100 pieces of silver and 1000 piece of bronze. Before I forget, here is the light armor that your father used to wear, he also an Archer just like you now¡± says Elliot mother. Speechless with his own mother attitude Elliot just go to his bed to take a rest. While Elliot sleeps, he feels someone is watching him sleep, so he opened his eyes to check and he finds out that he has been at a different place not in his bedroom. ¡°Is this some kind of dream, if that so I hope I can dream about games or become rich and not something pale and boring like this,¡± says Elliot, ¡°Welcome to realms of dream, you have been summoned by me the true goddess in your world and be known as Eliza¡± says the weird girl which floating on the air, ¡°the purpose..¡± before that self-claim goddess finish her sentences, Elliot just going to back sleep in his blanket. ¡°Hey, don¡¯t ignore me your mortal, I¡¯m a goddess you know show some respect please¡± beg Eliaza, annoying with that girl Elliot smack her in the head and say ¡°If you have something to say to me, come after lunch hour and don¡¯t disturb other people dream, you self-proclaim goddess¡± says Elliot with angry. Eliaza start to shed a tear but she hold herself and say ¡°Come to church in the Atheni, there we will have to talk. It really importance so comes okay¡±. *Adventurer Guild* ¡°Good morning both of you, just now your adventurer tags has complete and here it is, takes a good care okay,¡± says Lisa, Elliot and Alex seem happy after receiving their tags. Both of them take a good look at those tags and there is little information that only visible to see by the true owner of tag and also the Adventure Guild only.

Chapter 3: First Hunt - Mandrake ¡°Hell yeah, now we one step closer to be a true adventurer, hey Elliot go on pick any quest. I give you the honor to pick our team first quest¡± says Alex, Elliot walks to the quest board and take a random quest he finds easy to be completed. Alex feels uneasy about his decision for letting his friend make a choice so he goes and checks on his friend quest and what he sees about that quest is a quest to help a young girl finding her lost pet. ¡°Rejected,¡± says Alex, and then he goes and chooses the proper quest. ¡°Let¡¯s do this quest Elliot, a hunting quest. It says we need to find 3 Mandrakes near the outskrit and submit it to the shopkeeper in the marketplace¡±. Elliot let Alex handle the quest registration and he goes to the library looking to borrow a book about plant and monster. Both of young adventurer start their first quest today, as they passing through the main gate of the city, the guard let them out after seeing adventurer tag that belongs to them.

*Pretio outskirt* After walking for 30 minutes, Elliot and his friend reach a plain field where they need to find these Mandrakes for their quest. ¡°Listen, Elliot, I will be the leader for this time because I know several things about Mandrake. As you can see, Mandrake like to hide in the ground and only let it flower head point out. The flower is yellow and red in color so we easy to find it here.¡± Mumbling Alex while acting like a leader, ¡°one last thing Elliot, Mandrake can scream very loud, and it tend to attract monster using its scream so before you pluck it out make sure to stab it before it can make any noise¡±. In few minute of searching for Mandrake, Alex finally found the flower just like he describes to Elliot. Elliot tries to shoot it from a distance but Alex stops his friend and wants to do it by himself. Alex walk like normal toward that flower and slowly touch the flower, but suddenly Alex stops his movement because this Mandrake is not hiding in the ground but instead it¡¯s walking on the ground using its 2 little feet¡¯s. Alex face start to change because the Mandrake has made eyes contact with Alex, right after that, Mandrake starts to scream while its face change into ghost alike face, Alex runs away quickly before the monster came up due to attraction from Mandrake screaming, before he manages to alert Elliot about the danger, he can see that his best friend is nowhere to be found. Realise that he has been abandon by his friend, Alex runs with a tear in his face. The sound of Mandrake still can be heard by Alex''s ears, he feels weird because to him, he has been running quite fast and far from that monster. When he decided to look behind he can see that Mandrake actually runs together with him, follow by 8 monsters that look like a rabbit, ¡°I hate you Elliot¡± scream Alex. During the time which Alex try to save his life, Elliot at the other hand prepare to shot down the monster which been chasing his friend, he will shot the enemy from the safe distance, using [Hawk Eye] and [Accuracy Boost] to help him, Elliot with ease able to shoot down several monster with direct hit on the head. Alex who notice that Elliot try to give him cover from distance stop running and use his [Shield Bash] to Mandrake, that plant monster fall down and before it able to stand up again, Alex stab that Mandrake on the head using his sword to kill it. As for the remaining rabbit monster, all of it runaway after the effect of Mandrake agro scream has been stops by Alex, ¡°Where the hell have you been Elliot, you almost make me kill just now¡± says Alex. Elliot claims that was Alex idea to let him go alone and take care their first pray, as a friend Elliot has to obey that decision. Alex becomes quiet because he knows that was his mistake for that scenario to happen. ¡°Say, Elliot, did you know that Mandrake walks on the ground and chase the people with their scream? The shopkeeper checks the condition of that Mandrake and asking for them to give their adventurer tag for her to sign prove of completion, based on the shopkeeper the Mandrake is used to make bait for a monster, this because of the blood from Mandrake smell sweet. Before Elliot and Alex leave the shop, the shopkeeper gives both of them 5 health potion, ¡°use it wisely, that potion is quite pricey you know¡±, after saying thank for the gift Alex and Elliot go to Adventure Guild to submit their report. In Adventure Guild, Alex let Elliot go and send the report to Lisa while he listens to other adventurer talking to gain some information. ¡°You know, a few days ago people from Moraka Village said that they are an encounter with one of those,¡± says adventurer A. ¡°Oh, I also have heard about that from the traveler that passing through that village,¡± says adventurer B. That conversation has gain Alex interest so he tries to be friendly and ask what is happening at Moraka village after few short conversations Alex find out there is a Dungeon just appear near Moraka village. In this world Dungeon is a place where monster treats it like a house and also where people can find a treasure that worth a lot of money, typically Dungeon can consist of many floor level and at the end of the Dungeon will be the keeper to protect all the treasure. The strength of keeper in the Dungeon depend on the size of the Dungeon itself, in other words, the bigger the Dungeon the stronger it keeper will be, but once the keeper is being killed the Dungeon will disappear in 2 days. Elliot has returned with the reward in his hand, ¡°Elliot let go to Dungeon right after this¡± says Alex with the smiley face, ¡°No way, I don¡¯t want to go there¡± replies Elliot without taking time to thinks. After several getting a beating from his mother, Elliot doesn¡¯t have a choice but to go outside of his house to avoid his mother rage for time being. ¡°Well, what should I do during summer, ah it so hot to think,¡± says Elliot to himself, his plan for today is just sleeping all day long but that plan be ruin by his own mother so he decides to go to his friend house Alex to find out what Alex doing during summer. Before he reaches Alex house, he meets with Alex who plans to visit him at his house too. ¡°Hey, Elliot it nice to meet you here, are you plan to go to my house, cause I just plan to go to your house¡± says Alex. Elliot not even able to say any word Alex has hold his hand and said ¡°let¡¯s us go to beach Elliot, it summer now and summer is not perfect without us go to the beach¡±, Elliot notice that is something his friend planning behind his back, but he doesn¡¯t have any plan for today so he agrees to join Alex with his planning. ¡°Let¡¯s us meet at the front gate after packing our luggage, okay,¡± says Alex. I should pay it a visit if I got free time¡± says Elliot to remind himself. *Day 1 of Journey* Inside the carriage there is another person beside Elliot and Alex, that person is wearing a robe blue in color, her hair is orange and her eyes are black. After the long journey, finally the caravan has reached the town of Atheni, ¡°Let¡¯s go straight to the beach and enjoy our self-there¡± scream Alex, Elliot walk away from Alex and find an inn for them to sleep when they in the city. Alex doesn¡¯t have a choice but to follow Elliot and take a rest before going to the beach, the inn that Elliot choice for their place to sleep be call as [Blank Lady]. Inside the inn, Elliot goes and registers their name and pay for the rent, they planning to stay here for 3 days, ¡°Elliot let go and hit the beach will you¡± Alex begging to Elliot. Seeing his friend can¡¯t wait any longer, Elliot agree to follow Alex go to the beach. *Atheni Beach* At the beach, Alex has been spending his entire time to hitting on girls, swimming in the ocean, playing volleyball and many other interesting things he can think of, as for Elliot he only sleeps the entire time because he doesn¡¯t want to join Alex in his hitting game. ¡°Fuhh, that was so much fun. The wolf is confused with the appearance of Alex in front of it, Alex strikes with [Shield Bash] to create a distance from that wolf and a girl behind him and then without waiting for that wolf to react he stab at the heart of the wolf and killed it. *Item Box* Is the passive skill which comes together with the adventure tag, the adventurer can store many items, loot, weapon and also pet inside the item box. Item box can only let the pet to go in; other living things like slave, monster, and human cannot fit in it. Once be stored, that item can be summoned anytime as long as those adventurers wearing their adventure tag with them. *End of Explanation by Lisa* Seeing Alex able to take down that monster alone, Elliot just being a bystander and his store backs his weapon inside the item box. Confuse with the event just happen Alex just keep his mouth shut up. ¡°How dare you kill Pon-Pon, I will never forgive you,¡± says the girl. Elliot arrives and tries to calm that girl from being mad at Alex, after few minute of explanations on what happens it seems that girl is an adventurer too and her Profession is a Tamer, that explain how that wolf can be here outside it nature place. ¡°I demand compensation about what happens today, you just kill my first pet you know,¡± says that girl again. Seeing that is one way out from this trouble Alex has proposed an idea that he and Elliot will help that girl to capture another monster as her new pet and in return, she will forget what happens today. ¡°That is a good idea you have, okay I agree to your idea but the monster I want this time is not an easy target,¡± says the girl, Alex said that she can depend on his ability as well as Elliot. ¡°I want to tame up a Reb Ocean Crab this time¡± say the Tamer girl. ¡°What¡± Alex and Elliot shout at the same time listen to that girl request.
