《How To Kill Boredom (And The Gods)》
The Gods Are A Sham!
"Those peasants.. haha." Asmall guy with enormous body mass laughed, holding his belly.
"I know, Herald, i know! Isn''t it just so hilarious?" The depiction of a timeless beautysaid, grinning hard. An almost naked, perfect elegance made flesh, with hair like gold. Her huge wiggle-ables wiggled in a fit of laughter.
"We have talked about this countless times, but it still amuses me beyond anything."A little girl in the group exclaimed, blushing.
I had flown on top of one of the countless pillars littered across this paradise like garden, and was noweavesdropping on the three beings before me.
Flown? Yeah. Right now, i am holding the form of a crow. Nothing special there.
Oh, and this is the actual paradise. Which makes the ones before me gods.
Me? I am just a thing, above mortals, below divinity.
Because of never ending boredom, i decided to venture from the mortal realm, to the home of the gods.
For the last twenty minutes or so, i have heard things, man! Unbelievable things. Everyone in the world thinks, gods are the biggest, baddest fuckers around. Highest authority, bla bla. Well..they are a sham.
Strong? Yeah, at least far stronger than i am, unfortunately. And as i said, nohuman can dream to even defeat me, so mortals can only kneel at their feet. But real gods? Turns out, no. They are just some people from another planet.
I know, dude, i know. Othersplanets and stuff, wtf? It was so worth sneakinginto the heavens!
For the last few centuries, my lifehad been fucking dull. Always the same. Some human ''heroes'' found me every decade now and then, demanding that i concede. Well, the first hundred times or so, i theatrically beat them to a pulp and sent them back with random advice. After that, i just disposed of them the instant they opened the doors to my home. Snapping their necks and stuff, leaving one alive to broadcast how evil and mighty i was. Yeah, that was fun for a while. Until it got boring as well. After that, i didn''t even bother killing them. One even stayed and tried to stab me until he died of hunger, hilariously retarded. Sadly, that was the exception. No more fun stuff after that.
Time, and his asshole big brother, boredom, truly are relentless foes. So i felt the need to find something to occupy me with, hence i broke into paradise, for the lols. But this was just too dreamy. Other solar systems, how exciting. I always wondered what laid beyond the stars. Now, just maybe, i had the opportunity to find out, and quell my thirst for entertainment for at least a few years.
Afourth ''god'' camewalkingto the others, with slightly exaggerated steps. Ah, hopefully he spills something interesting, too. Because of my unique eyes, i was very proud of by the way, the skill ''Identify'' had no limitations for me. Normally, the things you could use it on were level-capped, inrelationto your own level. For me, however, that was not the case.
Silently, i murmured: "Identify".

Avoid. Surviving a direct confrontation is unlikely. |
Yeah, he is around eighty levels above me, like the others. I wonder how they made their titles display ''God of..'', when they are no gods. Maybe i could do it, too? Would be very cool, a shame i can''t just ask them.Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
Wayne had reached the others by now.
"Someone broke into our plane."
Uh-oh. If crows could sweat, i would right now.
"What?" The fair naked maiden sounded surprised. "How?"
"Don''t know, but radar shows a foreign entity right there. No ID-chip."
He pointed towards my exact location.
What the fuck? Whoever you are, Radar, i hate you. And what are idea-ships? There is nosea here as far as i know.
Not that it matters. I had to run, and fast. Because in front of me stood several ''Surviving a direct confrontation is unlikely''.
The split second i needed to process my undoing, lightning hit the pillar i currently resided on. Shit, i almost could not see that attack coming.
Asmy favorite pillar succumbed to its new, electrified nature, i flapped my wings to stay afloat. Panic flooded my mind. Iimmediately chose flee, not fight.
They came running towards me with a speed i couldn''t hope to match. I jetted away into the opposite direction. If i could reach the weak spot high up in heaven''s barrier where i slipped in, maybe i could slip out and hide somewhere in the mortal realm. Luckily, i could fly while they scrambled on the floor.
The fat man spread some lucent wings of light. Well, so much for fucking flying.
Worse, the little girl goddess started chanting now. Moments later, a scorching heat attempted to tackle me out of the skies. A very close call, but i evaded the fireball. With huge effort, i managed to jump a meter higher in the air.
What awaited me a meter higher, was the fat god. Oh, fuck me!
Like the sword hangingabove what''s-his-name''s throne, Mr. Fatface swung down with a blade, covered in a blue hue, brimming with power.
Enchanted weapon my ass! One hit of that thing and it''s bye-bye good ol'' me!
My panic now soaring even higher through the skies than my actual body, i dodged to the right. Still, the blade severedmost of my left wing.
Ouchie! You big fat meanie, go to your mom and eat more cake or something!
I couldn''t help but apply some gallows humor, while crashing towards the not-as-soft-as-i''d-like stone path, making its way through paradise.
Below me, naked goddess pulled a huge club, like some baseball player, waiting for the pitch.
On second thought, the stone floor seemed a lot softer now. So i tried to use my one and abit wings to steer clear of her hit radius. Of course, she just took steps leisurely, repositioning herself into my line of fall.
Oh man. I wanted entertainment, yes. While true that this was not boring, being dead held no merits. Better bored than a corpse. Or rather, becominga corpse was the ultimate boring.
It was no use, though. Nothing in my current repertoire could stop what i imagined to be the worst skull-cracker in the history of men.
On the verge of giving up, less than a secondbeforemy demise, i had an idea. If i could somehow, in the moment of impacting Mrs. Club''s extended arm of horror, transform my figure to something akin to a hard ball, maybe, just maybe, the inertia would translate to my own kinetic force instead of splattering blunt trauma.
Okay, here goes nothing. The goddess grinned a devilish grin, while swinging towards me from the side.
NOW! I prayed to the real gods, if there were any, that this would work.
| You morphed your shape into the most compact form. Congratulations, you are now asteelsphere. |
The moment of impact roared like deafening thunder in my ears. I almost lost consciousness from the hit, the last thing that registered on my senses, if barely, was the sensation of abruptly accelerating horizontally, to speeds i could never reach myself. And a bit of speech.
"I think that will kill it." Naked girlie chuckled, licking her club.
Then everything went black.
When i came to me, i was still flying. Cool, i fainted for a split second only. I looked forward in my line of flight. Don''t ask me how a steel ball can have working eyes, i was just grateful for it at the moment. So who cares how? It''s magic anyway.
I rushed past a lot of pillars. I wonder who thought of this genius design? Just drop a shitload of pillars onto a plane, paradise. Ta-da!
Unfortunately, the walls of an actual building grew in the distance rapidly.
Oh man, really? I crashed through the stone. That hurts like shit, i can tell you. Why not build your things with wood, or better, jelly? Fuck you, fake gods.
The wall had slowed me down somewhat, but my speed was still overkill. In the millisecond after bursting through, i very quickly tried to inspect the next obstacle in my course. Which was a huge mirror.
No, wait. In the frame of a huge mirror was.. well.. nothing. Just black. Not the nice kind of black, but the kind of black that sucked in the surrounding light.
Just as i braced myself for impact, i slid into the black. Wow. It had zero kinetic resistance, i just sped through it into.. eh.. the void, or something.
Minion Of Ruth
In front of the mirror stood the fantastic four.
The fantastic four fake (fag-)gods, that is.
"Why the fuck did you smash that thing into there?" The fat man sounded angry, a bit.
"Why the fuck did you cut its wing instead of its head?" Misses Naked responded in a cold voice, not even blushing a bit.
"Now, now, calm down." The Wanna-be Of Storm interfered. "This portal is not dialled to anywhere at the moment, so walking into it pretty much counts as dying anyway. I suppose the intruder got what it deserved."
"Do you really think so?" Little girl now asked, shyly.
"Of course. This mirror directly leads into the Void, for the moment at least. Nothing in there can be survived. Not by a long shot." Wayne shivered slightly. (AN: He is the supposed ''God of Storm'')
"I read about the places and things you can find in the Void. Trust me, you don''t ever, EVER want to go there."
...
The conversation went on for a while, until the fake gods turned back to their fake business of being fake. With real followers, though.
---------------------------------------------------
Somewhere else
---------------------------------------------------
After i don''t know how many hours i spent in perfect darkness, i felt a slight tug. Over the course of another few hours, it grew to a forceful drag.
Honestly, i had no idea where the fuck i was, or what the fuck was going on. But i survived the encounter with the ''gods''. Also, this was not boring. Excitement washed over my soul. In fact, i had not felt this alive for decades. My health also had recovered completely, after being down to a few percent. That mace-hit hurt more than i anticipated, my crow-form would have been mashed into dead gory pulp.
I opened part of my status, to be sure i was back at full function.

Okay, seems i really am fine again, full health and mana. I closed my partial status.
Out of the nothingness all around, a glowing rectangular frame formed in front of me. Tiny at first, but growing at a steady rate.
Aha, seems like i am being pulled into there. Hopefully this was not the gate, or whatever, i entered this place from. Then i would just be fucked again.
I switched from ball mode to crow mode and tried to fly, to the grand effect of not having any effect. So, through the frame of light it is, then. Please let it not be the realm of the sham gods again. I was still praying, when a bright white light enveloped me, only to be replaced by a faint reddish glow right after.
Okay, that is just too cool! This was definitely NOT where i came from.
I turned around, a mirror much like the one i passed through earlier behind me.
Above, clouds, bathed in red light, covered the sky up to the horizon. The floor i walked on was made of gray sand. Never-ending dunes like the one i stood on littered the world i had just arrived in. The sight was majestic and eerie at the same time. A strong smell of steel and dust wafted through the air, making this place feel ancient.Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences.
Oh, and the air was surprisingly warm.
Upon further inspection, i saw remnants of man-made objects everywhere. Like bones of forgotten giants, who long since laid down to die, broken frames of metal protruded from the ground. Ribcages of houses, fallen to time. At first, i thought this was a dead world. There was no sound except the faint howling of the wind, re-shaping the dunes over the course of days, burrowing parts of the ruins, while delivering other areas to the surface once more.
But then i saw something moving, in the corner of my eye. I quickly focused towards the.. thing. It seemed to be an undead of some sorts, wearing armor of unknown material. It stood about three meters tall, humanoid, but the flesh long since withered from its black bones. In the eye-sockets, blue flames burned. Looking into them forced a chill down my spine, like the winning cold of winter, announcing summer''s end. (AN: Imagine Autumn to be the battle between Winter and Summer)
The skeleton bore two metal blades, wrapped in a dense purple shine.
What? Wait.. are that enchanted weapons??
The fat god''s sword seemed like a child''s toy right now, when compared to the stuff that undead lover-boy over there wielded.
Fuck, really? Did i stumble upon some big-ass boss, or something? Some entity, that could easily slaughter gods, fake or real? Or me, for that matter? It certainly gave off that vibe. My heart pumped hard.
Shit, i was not sure i even wanted to know what exactly that thing was, but i used "Identify" nontheless.

Just no. You can''t run, you can''t win, you can''t survive an encounter in any way.
|
See? Told you i didn''t want to know.
''Just no'' is surprisingly accurate, because, just.. no.
Seriously though, level 6483? What the FUCK??
The highest level entities i had ever seen, were the fake gods of my home world, clocking in at level 240. But that skeletal.. eh.. thing? Its class actually SAID it was a real god. For titles i didn''t know, but for classes i knew for sure: They can''t be faked, as a rule of the system.
Its level was about forty times my own. Yeah, no.
Here came the denial. Surely, something had to be wrong with my eyes, or Identify. Deep down i knew it wasn''t wrong though. If the paradise from earlier was a lion''s den, this was.. a bigger lion''s den. I mean a lion the size of a fucking mountain''s den, and i had just walked straight into it.
This was equally disturbing and interesting. Okay, it was more disturbing and horrifying. But interesting, too. If you were interested in dying.
The uber-skeleton swiftly stepped closer, neither making any sound while moving, nor otherwise announcing its presence. If i couldn''t see it so clearly, i could have sworn it wasn''t real.
It was perfectly obvious to me that i could do nothing. And i mean nothing. In my earlier troubles, there was always a chance to.. hm.. do something, to get out of a pinch. This time, there wasn''t. I could only go along with it.
So i just cowered down in my bird-like form, awaiting the end.
"¡ì%$"&¡ì$%&($%&" A voice, rusty, ancient, but drenched in power resounded from somewhere.
Huh? I was caught of guard, so much so, it took me a few seconds to realize.. it was the skeleton. The fucking skeleton just spoke. You see, skeletons can''t speak. Yet it did. What the damn?
"Could you repeat that, please?" I asked in my most humble voice. Seems there is a chance to get out of this alive, after all. If this thing is sentient, maybe i can bargain with it.. somehow.
The thing stood silent before me for a few seconds. I already began thinking i had imagined the voice, but then it talked again. This time, in my language. How it learned how to speak it, i didn''t know.
"Become a minion, or perish."
Okay.
Minion, it is.
"Good Sir, i would like to become a minion, please."
I immediately agreed, but minion to whom? Its status said it was the subordinate of some Ruth character. I shivered like a leaf in a thunderstorm. This skeleton was a living (or unliving) god. So, what kind of entity must its boss be? Who the fuck is so far beyond the scope, that he (or she) can have gods as minions, casually recruiting them?
I have seldom been so sure in my life: I didn''t want to know. Some things you are definitely better off not knowing.
"Good. You will follow me to our master."
Yeah, great, thanks. So much for that.
The skeleton-y minion god turned towards one of the bigger ruins and started walking. I flew right behind him. No choice, and so on.
I quickly calmed down though, after all, i had lived a century or two. So instead of playing slaughtered sheep, i tried to get some information out of Mr. Undead.
"Do you have a name?" The default conversation opener.
"One, as weak as i, does not deserve to receive the gift of a name."
Yeah, i totally misheard that. No way it said it was weak.
"Aha, okay." After that, i didn''t really feel motivated to engage in further conversation.
But if i somehow survive this unreal chain of events, boredom will be my new best friend, i swear. Really man, i promise. For a while, at least.
Meet Your New Boss
We, that is the surreal skeleton overlord and me, made way across the sandy countryside of however this place was called. In another life, i might have even enjoyed it here. Silent, mystic, ancient. Right now though, my life hung on a very bare thread. So forgive me if i currently don''t feel very secure. Since nothing eventful had happened for minutes now, except following this undead monster, a deep, primal uneasy began nagging at my soul. I realized a few things, consequences in all their glory.
I was not on my home world any more. Stranded in a forsaken place. I didn''t know where i was. Hell, no one from my home probably knew this place even existed. This wasn''t good. I was powerless here, that much was clear. While my current form might be a crow, in reality i was but a mere little lamb: Blind and helpless. Which was a major problem. As you might know, as well as i do, blind sheep get slaughtered, like, all the time.
Few goals went along with that realization.
Priority number one: Stay alive. Corpse = Boring, and so on.
I kept that in check, for now, by politely nodding to every word of Mr. Undead. Guess what, i am a freshman minion now. Or will be, after i met its master.
Next up: How the fuck am i supposed to find my way back?
If there was a way back at all. Shit, man. I mean, sure there was a way, the portal thingy or whatever, that brought me here. But unfortunately there was an unbridgable gap between a way out, and a way out, that i had the ability to use. Come on dude, a few hours ago i didn''t even know such portals existed, you can''t expect me to just know how to operate those things.
Even if, by some miracle, i got out of the current situation free and clear, and by calling upon an even greater miracle, got the portal to take me back home, there were still the fake gods i had pissed off.
While not nearly as scary as that thing i followed right now, they could still dispose of me easily. Heck, they almost killed me for good the first time around. With my non existent luck, and a tiny bit of my own fault, ihad maneuvered myself right between a very hard place, and a very very hard place. Why, man, just why is it always me, who ends up burning on a stake?
There was another option though. What if actually becoming a minion, was a good thing? I know, joining team supreme undead didn''t sound so nice at first, but standing on their side might actually be cool as fuck. And i could probably return home safely, with that kind of entities backing me. To that dubious Ruth person, and to the skeleton in front of me, for that matter, the fake gods were the same kind of lowly fodder i was.
When i pictured myself exiting the portal @Home and dragging along a few Mr. Bladegods with me, i almost laughed aloud. I would say something epic, like, "You, fake gods! I have come to end this heresy, in the name of the true gods!", or cool stuff like that. And then just snap my fingers and the (fake) gods were no more.
This would never actually happen, but dreaming helped right now, as it kept my sanity in check.
Back to the eternal question. To be (a minion), or not to be (a minion).
In my opinion, the biggest down side was, that i didn''t know, what i would sign up for. What were their goals?
Guess i needed to find out. I had no choice, but to play this charade to its end, anyway.
"When we arrive, you will bow to our master, and not speak unless ordered."
Yeah, sure. Whatever you say.
"Understood, Sir."
The rusty voice of my invincible unliving concierge had snapped me out of my thoughts. A little lost for a split second, i looked around. In front of us, was a temple. A ruin? Yes, but at the same time well polished. Maybe this was by design? It sure looked intimidating as fuck, towering high above my head. Something about the four huge pillars to the left and right of the run down gate, we would assumingly pass through in a few seconds, reminded me of something.
I inspected them closer. They were at least twenty meters high, made of black metal, i couldn''t identify. Once they must have been painted in gold, or golden color, or something like that. The coating had splintered off in places though, like scratches made by the claws of unspoken horrors. I pictured something akin to a cat. Just hundred times the size, and the name forgotten, washed away with the lifeblood of its victims. I shivered slightly. Oh.. They look a little bit like the pillars in my home world''s heaven. Yeah, thats it! Did the wanna-be gods steal the design, or what? I didn''t know. The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
I focused on the gap in between the pillars, clearly a passageway of some sort. Maybe there had been a gate, maybe there hadn''t. Right now there wasn''t.
There were, however, other undeads. They probably acted as some kind of guards. Unmoving like toy soldiers, but made abominations. Unlike my skeletal guy, those undeads had flesh on their bones. At least, in some places. Otherwise, they looked like nightmares, pretty much like the one i first met. Three meters tall, covered in metal armor, humanoid, blue flames acting as eyes. Lances, instead of the dual swords, though. And they held large round shields. (AN: Spear / Shield combo like the frontlines of Spartan warriors)
I sighed. "Identify" is what i yelled at one of them, silently.

Just no. You can''t run, you can''t win, you can''t survive an encounter in any way. |
Yeah, don''t know what i expected.
Insanely high levels again. Oh man. Someone tell me please, what is the difference between being vanguard, and being a minion? Are the vanguard not minions, too?
Go me, they are a few hundred levels weaker than the one who ''invited'' me here. I laughed bitterly. A few hundred levels weaker, and it didn''t change my odds one tiny bit. Still undefeatable. And unlike my original undead bro, there were dozens of them, standing along the perimeter of Temple Fearsome.
Geez, i wanted to be literally anywhere but here, right now. My wish was not granted. We wordlessly passed the guards, entering the ruins.
I have to admit, the sheer size of the hall with no roof, we arrived in, impressed me hard. Everything was full of sand and old, corroded by times untold. Yet it still stood tall, mocking time''s relentless effort to bring it all down. The grand hall was nearly empty. Except dust and sand. And banners, hung to the pillars once supporting this place. Yeah, there were more pillars. I couldn''t see them before, as they lined up perfectly with the ones at the non existing gate.
Surprisingly, the banners looked freshly woven. Were it not for the dust they were covered in, as much as everything else here.
Of course, the symbol they put on display meant nothing to me. All red, a black siccle on them. A depiction of the designer''s darkest thoughts of bloodshed and slaughter, i think.
"Master will arrive shortly."
Yeah, okay. Hopefully master permitted me as minion, otherwise i was screwed. In the bad way.
Out of nothing, an aura so powerful, that it bent space, made me drop out of the air. I crashed onto the floor, unable to move.
What the fuck??
Man, the aura of my favorite Mr. Skeleton was scary as fuck. But it didn''t even approach the density of this corruption, that practically swallowed the world. A feeling of great terror forced its way into my mind, drowning every ounce of hope. Panic reigned supreme.
Then it just stopped.
I took a heavy breath, shaking my wings to get back on my feet. It helped calm my nerves a great deal.
"Who might you be, child?" The sweetest of voices, seduction.. no.. addiction, made speech, asked calmly. Those words carried a power so great, it made the surroundings bleed color. Everything went shades of gray.
Out of necessity, i looked up. In front of me stood.. a fallen angel. I don''t know how to describe it any other way. A woman, with raven hair. Her eyes like molten rock, blazing in a dark crimson. Her ashen body, like the majestic slopes of a wild, unsubdued mountain range. Red wings wrapped around her like a delicate blanket, paid for in blood.
Coherent thought failed me for a second there. I opened and shut my mouth, but no voice came out. Fuck me!
Okay, i think i understood now, why all the minions races said "Corrupted". Fucking reality itself could barely continue on, near the source of this oppression.
I know i am gonna regret this, okay?.. but i just have to.. "Identify"..

I had never seen screens other than blue. This one was much more ominous. And it distorted while looking at it.
Sure thing, Alira of the East. Allow me to correct myself. My undead friendis not OP. You are.
Fuck, OP doesn''t even cut it. What the hell are you, lady?
Fruit Of Revelation
Dear MC Undying, thanks for delivering me to hell.
This settled it. Minion for life! Or should i say minion, because i want to live? In the end, same thing.
Any doubts about my career choices, not that i had any in the first place, faded into a distant dream.
When i walked in here, i kind of expected to see Ruth, or whomever, in person. Yet, it was just another minion, albeit of higher rank. Harbinger sounded foreboding as fuck. Someone like the undead swarming this place being nothing but servants, i could process in my mind somehow. If i massively stressed my world view. But someone like her, also being an employee, rather than the employer?
Frankly, that was beyond my capacity to handle. Just thinking about the scale of power, these entities existed on, gave me a never ending migraine.
Turns out that the skeletal warrior number one was not lying, when he said he was "weak" and "didn''t deserve a name". If you needed to be in that angel''s pay grade, to be worthy of a name, then i humbly submit: I am just a random crow. No name here. Galdir? Nah, that''s not a name, that practically translates to "worthless trash".
"You will answer, when our master voices a question." That almost sounded angry.
Huh? Oh shit. I stared up, something, glowing violet and way too sharp for my liking, directly above my head.
That made my mind clear up instantly.
No-no. No need for violence here, boney dude. I got this.
"Forgive my insolence, for i am just an unworthy thing. One of your great followers extended the hand of friendship to me, asking me to serve you with all my might. How could i refuse such a generous offer? Oh great master.. eh.. Alira Of The East."
Hopefully, that nailed it, because i stumbled a little bit at the last part. Please, man, i need this job! And my life, which comes along with it.
I expectantly eyed the unholy maiden.
She chuckled.
Can you say something, please? The suspense isn''t good for my heart.
"..How could you, indeed." She was laughing now.
"I can imagine. That rusty skeleton said something like ''Be a minion, or die'', right? Sorry about that, it is default policy for one like him to talk like that. Don''t heed his words too much."
Aha. Okay. What?
"Unfortunately, he is right though. So, feel like becoming my slave?" She winked at me. She FUCKING winked.
I would be flustered, but i was preoccupied with accepting my fate.
"T-This lowly one gladly accepts. Order me as you will, oh supreme Alira Of The East." Damn, i hadn''t stuttered since, i don''t know, never, i think.
"Haha, i thought so. Very few people have an active death wish." She seemed satisfied. Good for me, pal.
Then her expression displayed contemplation for the shortest blip of time. "Your eyes, they are special, aren''t they?"
Okay, that''s a neat trick. How the fuck does she know that? I panicked, again. Great. I could already feel my alive status being revoked.
"Y-Yes, i used to be proud of them. But now i realize how foolish that was, compared to your grace, they are worthless. Oh exalted Alira Of The East."The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"You want to know, how i know?" If she was human, that surely would have sounded smug. With her presence, it sounded natural, a bit flat even.
Is it really okay to ask? Well, my life was already forfeit as is, so might as well get an answer to that one.
"If you would bless me with your enlightenment, i would be thrilled. Oh benign Alira Of The East." Yeah i know. Benign and her were opposites. But it sounded polite, so what can i do.
"Oh stop calling me that, it annoys me. It is just ''Master''. And that is how i know. You have not even passed the first treshold, yet you can see my name." She actually sounded interested in me, a little bit.
That was good. One girl''s interest is another crow''s lifeline. It''s an old saying, don''t you know it?
"Another thing. Show your true form, you are not a bird, are you? It''s an order."
Oh man! My original appearance is so.. boring. Still, i immediately started to transform, it took a few seconds.
"Yeah, i like shadows better in their true form. Why do you hide it?"
Before i could answer, she gestured into the thin air before her. "Come, sit. Might as well have tea while chattering." Without transition, the thin air was no more. In its place, a tea set had appeared, alongside a matching table and two comfy looking chairs. Of course, all of it was of ridiculously high quality. Perfectly ashen porcelain with intricate carvings made of gold. The chairs covered in leather that i could SEE was soft. And perfect and black. Ebony table as a finishing touch.
Naturally, the tea was already hot, the cups filled, the otherworldly beauty stretching in her chair. I am not gonna lie, the tea smelled better than anything i had ever stuck my nose in.
While i approached, i felt an intense mixture of suspense and, oddly, excitement.
If someone had told me a day or two ago, that i would have a tea session, with an evil goddess made flesh (I don¡¯t know, is she really made of flesh?), in a broken world, surrounded by an army of supreme undead soldiers, i would have declared them borderline crazy.
But here i was, good old me, about to sit at the table with one of the big boys (or girls, in this case). And i mean the dominate-the-universe kind of big boys (or girls, in this case).
How could i not feel like the most important fucker ever?
The closer i got though, the less i felt like a supreme badass and more like a sacrificial lamb, again.
As my true form looked pretty much like the shadow of a human, i had legs now. And arms, which i used them to pull back my designated chair and sit down. My image flickered, the boundaries between what was my body, and what was the surroundings, not clearly defined. May sound creepy, but it is default appearance for my race. We are but shadows, after all. Darkness given shape.
She gestured me to drink, as did she herself.
For a little while, we sat and drank in silence. Then, she pulled fruit, or something akin, out of nowhere and tossed it over.
"Eat this, and the contract is settled. You will belong to me. After that, i will tell you something about your eyes. You will find it very interesting." Her voice commanding.
Under my breath, i whispered "Identify". She must have heard me still, because a knowing smile crept unto her fair face.

Ahahaha. I didn''t know wether to laugh or to cry.
Legendary was the rarest grade for an item. I didn''t know what a ''Divide'' was, but with the living proof of supremacy in front of me, plus the description of this fruit, i could patch together the power levels. 2nd Divide meant strong like her. In other words: Hell yes!
The problem: The fuck means ''Allegiance .. can not be revoked''? That sounded very final to me. Final in a matter i knew nothing about.
The solution: Find out the alleged finality later, or find out the ashen angel''s finality (my death) now.
"Yes." I spoke to the screen.
For two heartbeats, nothing. Then my heartbeat was nothing. The world started spinning, as i passed out.
