《The Golden Alchemist Midas》


 A Female Commander

    I remember recruiting people to my army, they were all almost inexperienced against humans because they were adventurers that only hunted monsters. Well, I was the youngest one in the army and I was the leader captain of the army, we were all ready to battle the elves and so the fight started on a hill, the elves outnumbered us one to five but we were able to hold until the end.


    Only two soldiers were still alive, one of them was me and one of them was a mix of an elf and an orc, he was four times larger than me, my magic did nothing on him so I charged at him with my sword, I was somehow able to kill that thing but I was heavily wounded, a sword scar starting from the left of my neck to my left eye, an axe blow to the left side of my stomach and my left leg was already gone home. The rain started, the sky was now filled with gray clouds. I was able to lie on a rock and I started to look at the bodies.


    The baker that gave me free bread, the bard who sang great songs, the father that showed pictures of his child''s, the vice-leader that had a crush on me. They are all long gone, I hope the other armies gain victories because this is our last chance as humanity. We have been pushed back from our continent and now only humans left were in the elven continent. That actually sounds like we were the invaders and they were the ones who were protecting their land. Amazing, I will die as a bad person.


    And then I saw a figure with the corner of my left eye but my left eye was wounded as well, so I doubted myself and then turned my head to see something that left my mouth open.


    A golden person?!


    A person was wearing a golden robe, a golden plague doctor mask, golden gloves, golden boots and that person was also carrying a huge golden cauldron on his back. He put the golden cauldron on the ground and poured water and a potion inside after that he picked up swords and tossed them into the cauldron. He pulled the swords up, all of the swords were now golden swords. My mouth was left open and then that person looked at me.


    He noticed me!


    That person looked like a monster to me, so I tried to pick up a sword but I failed.


    Fuck! I can''t even hold a sword to protect myself.


    And then that person arrived, he just stood in front of me and he started to walk to me, he crouched down next to me and spoke.


    "You are the commander?"


    "Y-Yes."


    "You look like you are hurt, are you hurt?"


    This question seemed like a dumb question, this was dumb enough to make me laugh.


    "I am good."


    "Okay, have a nice day."


    That person stood up and started to walk away, I was surprised at his dumb reaction.


    "I am actually dying," I said, that person turned to me and he crouched down near me again.


    "Should I help you?"


    "Hah! Only the pope can treat wounds like this." I laughed.


    He sounds like a weird guy.

    "Okay." He stood up and started to walk to his cauldron, he picked up the cauldron and brought it near me, the cauldron was full of melted gold. He picked up a small jar of a slime from the inside pocket of his robe and then he filled the small jar with the melted gold, he closed the seal and started to shake it, he turned to me while holding the small jar.


    "W-What are you going to do to me?" I was scared of him and the thing he was holding.


    "Your wounds will turn into gold and these will act as a bandage, a perfect bandage."


    "A perfect bandage? You said it was going to hurt a lot."


    "Yes, this is melted gold after all. I am only able to hold this jar because of my golden gloves they are resilient to heat."


    "Y-You are going to pour melted gold on me?!"


    "Yes but not just any melted gold. It is mixed with a healer slime like I said this is the perfect bandage."


    "O-Okay, do it but can you attach a limb with that thing?"


    "Limb why? All of your limbs are intact."


    "Intact? Can''t you see I am missing a left leg?"


    "Wait, I thought every human was missing a limb because everyone I looked at was missing something."


    "What? Wait, tell me this kingdom''s name."


    "I don''t know anything about this world I am new to this."


    "Y-You are a summoned hero?!"


    "No? I grew up in those mountains over there with my father. He was the only human I talked to and you are the second human that I talked to."

And when I woke up the rain was gone and he was mixing his cauldron.

    "You passed out from pain, don''t worry I treated all of your wounds. So tell me about males and females."


    "Well, you must be a human male. Wait are you even human?"


    "Yes! That is one thing I am sure of."


    "The battlefield is full of males except me, I am a human female."


    "I see, I see and you are the commander."


    "Oh about that how did you understand that I was the commander?"


    "That was because you were the only one who looked different from the other soldiers."

    What a weird person. Oh, the reinforcements were going to arrive in a couple of hours, now I will have to wait for them.


    And that was the first time I met, Midas The Gold Alchemist. Everyone was going to know his name in seven years but his reputation was going to be known for turning people into gold.

 A Male Commander

    They said that the generals were respected people and the adventurers were disgusting people. I believed my parents because I was a little child, I worked my ass off and entered a military academy but the ones with talent shined while the others like me were left alone, we were jealous but this jealousy led to friendship among us and friendship led to many things and we all graduated even the talented ones but they weren''t ready to handle military politics unlike us we had many friends in the military, we easily got promoted and lived our lives as officers. I married a beautiful actress because of my position, I have a little son named "Wilhelm" His mother and I work so we let the maids and the butlers take care of him but I sometimes took him to the military headquarters.


    That day was one of the days I brought him to the military headquarters, he was looking outside the carriage, he was excited just like her mother he also loved to travel, we arrived at the military headquarters, the gates were heavily guarded for some reason, I opened the window and asked the soldier.


    "Is something happening?"


    "S-Sir, please get out of the carriage."


    "What?"


    "Sir, please don''t force us to drag you out in front of your son." They surrounded the carriage, I didn''t know what was happening but I knew something really bad was going on in the HQ, I got out of the carriage and my son got out as well, he was used to following me.


    "Father, are they here to escort us?" He looked at the soldiers with innocent eyes, the captain of the soldiers turned to his comrades and yelled.


    "Drop your weapons, If The High General knew about this happening he wouldn''t have brought his son with him." The soldiers nodded in an agreement, I was left confused and then the captain saluted me.


    "Sir! A military coup is underway!"


    "What!?! Is the king okay?!"


    "He is the reason of the military coup, he didn''t wake up today. His status is unknown."


    "I-I see." I looked at my son.


    I have to get him out of here.


    "You take my son to the HQ." I pointed at a soldier, he saluted and held my son''s hand, they were headed inside the HQ.


    Wait, If a military coup was happening wouldn''t the military HQ be in chaos, things seem really calm. Unless the one leading the coup is inside the HQ!


    "I think I should send Wilhelm to my home, It should be more secure." The soldier''s smiles turned into a cold expression, they raised their weapon again and they took my son as hostage.


    "Sir, please cooperate with us unless if you want your son getting hurt."


    "Yes."  They took me to the meeting room, they were two kinds of generals inside that room, dead generals, and alive generals.


    Loyalists are dead I assume.


    A fat old man with a mushroom head and a swirly mustache were sitting at the front of the meeting table, this man was Duke-Major General Artin, he was one of the most powerful nobles in the kingdom, he had a smug smile on his face.

    "Fucking bastard! You are launching a coup?! Are you out of your mind??! The elves will jump on this!"


    "I might be a fat noble but I am not stupid, I signed a deal with the elves. They won''t be betraying us-"


    And then a loud explosion broke the meeting room''s windows, this explosion sound came from the navy HQ, his smug expression turned into an outraged face, he hit his fist and started to yell at the other noble generals.


    "Idiots! I told you to finish the navy officers first."


    "What is going on there?" I asked.


    "Fucking Loyalists turned the whole navy building into a fort, half of the Loyalists are in that building."


    "The Major Generals are dead. How are they pulling something like that?"


    "Ugh, It is that bitch. Lieutenant General Alysianna, she fucking killed half of my second army alone. Wait, you were awarded a siege master medal, If you manage to break that siege I will award you with a duchy title when I become the king. I know you are not a loyalist because of the fights you had with the king and I know you are a smart man that will make the right decision."


    Every loyalist officer is in that building If they die the loyalist forces will probably surrender. Do they have a chance at this? Even if I reject his proposal they would probably die when Artin''s first army arrives at the capital and he also has Wilhelm, I will flip to him.


    He offered me his hand, I started to walk to him but then I noticed a general holding a photo, It was his family photo.


    He wanted to see his family one last time. I can understand that.


    But then I noticed that the general was sitting on top of a pistol, he was hiding it and then Artin noticed me.


    "Major-General Chori, even when I threatened him with his family, he didn''t flip to me. What a fucking loyalist.


    So, he died for his kingdom. I change my mind.


    "Yeah, what a fucking loyalist¡­But I am one too."


    I picked up his pistol and shot at the other generals, Artin was the only one left, he was trying to get his pistol out of his belt but it was stuck, he fell from his chair in a panic, I pointed my pistol at him, he smiled.


    "If you kill me, my soldiers will kill you and your son." I smiled at him.


    "Good thing I know to say ''The king is alive.'' They would drop their weapons easily." And then I shot at him, a simple shot was able to finish the traitor, the windows were broken so I yelled with all of my might.


    "This is The Major General Rein. The King Is Alive! I repeat the king is alive drop all of your weapons!"


    My voice echoed and then the soldiers dropped their weapons, I immediately started to look for Wilhelm and then I found him in the kitchen, soldiers were lying on the ground, they were knocked out and he was making something with a golden man.


    A golden man? What? This man did this?


    He turned to me and spoke.


    "Hello! I am Midas! I was teaching him how to make healing potions."


    "W-What?" I was dazed from the costume this guy was wearing, everything about him was golden, his robe, his gloves, his mask, his boots and his weirdly energetic voice, my son was also happy, he turned to me a with a potion on his hands.


    "Look father! Mister Midas taught me how to do it. Oh, you have a wound on your cheek."


    I touched my cheek and realized I really had a wound.


    One of the noble generals must have gotten lucky.


    "Good thing I have my dear son''s potion." I smiled and drunk his potion, It was a good one and the wound healed but then something struck my mind.


    "W-Wait you are Midas!? The Gold Alchemist!? "


    "Yes?" I pointed my pistol at him, he was a criminal that everybody was looking for.


    I can''t bring myself to shoot the kind man who probably saved my child but he is a serial killer that turned hundreds of people into gold.


    "W-Were you the one who turned people into gold?"


    "What!? There is a person who can turn people into gold?! Even I can''t do that."


    He sounds like a stupid man but he must be a nice guy.


    I dropped my weapon and picked up my son.


    "You should escape that monster is looking for you."


    "I don''t see any monsters around here."


    "Lieutenant General Alysianna, you were the one who burned her right? She is like a mad dog and she is searching for you."


    "Hmm¡­I see! I must have done something to piss her off."


    "Wait, do you know the city of Yorenia?"

    And then Midas jumped out of the window and disappeared, after that incident It was revealed that the king was poisoned by Artin and he was able to recover, I was promoted to Marshall and Alysianna was promoted to Major General but now the military was weak and the king signed an order allowing every adventurer or militia guild members to make arrests, this greatly increased the influence of both guilds and the tension between the three militaristic powers in the kingdom started to rise.

 A Male Butler

    I woke up early like always, I started to do push-ups, I needed to keep my body healthy and then I took a bath, I stared at myself for five minutes realizing how handsome I am.


    The handsome glasses butler. That''s me.


    I smiled and started to get dressed up, I was the youngest head butler of the Puritan family. I was also the second handsome man in the mansion, every maid adored me. I started to make preparations for our master''s promotion feast but then something went wrong, a guard came rushing to me.


    "H-Head butler Vilt! There is a weird guy saying that he was invited by the baron!"


    What?! I wasn''t notified of such thing!


    "Take me to him!" We rushed to the entrance of the mansion, there stood a golden man, everyone was surprised and all of them didn''t know what to do, I didn''t too but I had to show I was the head butler here, I walked to the weird golden man and gently bowed down.


    "Might I ask who you are?"


    "I am Midas! I was invited here."


    "By whom?"


    "The general who looks like a lion and he has a cute son named Wilhelm."


    "I see."

    "Butlers show this man the guest room."     "What? He was carrying it like a backpack." I tried to pick up the cauldron but I couldn''t, everyone was looking at me.


    Fuck! I humiliated myself, let''s call the weird guy to pick this up.


    "Please call the guest here." I sent a maid to call him and the guest arrived. This weird person was only wearing a golden underwear but that was not the thing surprised me, the thing that surprised me was the rest of his body, every inch of his body was muscular like a gladiator and his face was not from this land, a perfectly handsome face with short black hair and perfect blue eyes, he had a smile on his face.


    W-What? He is sparkling! I-I can''t lose my place as second! But why is he naked!?


    "Why is he undressed?!" I yelled at the butlers.


    "Head Butler, we asked him to remove his robe-" He Interrupted and said.


    "They asked me to remove my clothes so I did. They tried to pick up my clothes but they were too heavy for them. I thought humans were able to carry this much weight."


    "Aren''t you a human yourself!?" I was getting angry, I couldn''t handle this guy anymore.


    "Yes, I am human."


    "Then how the fuck are you able to carry this cauldron!" And then I exploded, I looked around and saw everyone looking at me, I was outraged at this irresponsible childlike idiot.


    Shit! I dropped my mask.


    "I-I am sorry." He started to cry like a child. Now,everyone was looking at me like I was the evil person here, I needed to take care of this, so I walked to him and patted his head.


    "I am sorry that I yelled at you but can you take your cauldron outside. It is blocking the entrance." He stopped crying and hugged me.


    Just like a child, easy.


    "Big brother! I will do it for you!" He picked the cauldron up like It was some feather and placed it in the garden, It looked like a decorative object and it looked really nice. He was still wearing his underwear, I sighed and said.


    "I will give you my second outfit, come." He started to follow me like a pet following his owner, I needed to get him out of people''s sight, I couldn''t allow a man like him walking around the mansion.


    Being the big brother sure is good and he looks quite happy too.

 A Conversation

    I started to walk to the communication room, two elven soldiers were guarding the door. They were talking with each other and then they noticed me, they immediately turned into stone and saluted me.


    "Y-Your majesty! You shouldn''t be here without your guards!"


    "It''s okay, I will be talking with an old friend. Please, go relax outside."


    "We can''t sir! We have a duty to protect you!"


    "I insist, gentleman." I glared at them and this was enough to scare them.

    I entered the room and closed the door with a spell, I didn''t want anyone listening to my conversation with my old friend. I called him and he answered it.


    "Lerian! How have you been my friend." I said.


    "Alvurn! How long has it been?" His voice was like a female''s I was really surprised and he noticed my reaction.


    "You must be surprised, I was getting too old so I had to change bodies."

    "The humans?! I thought you hated humans."


    "Meh, I like them now because they are quite easy to control."
