《A World Without a Tomorrow》
Chapter 1: A short introduction
Bloodbornes: a species of humanoid creatures capable of manipulating their own blood for various uses.
As the world gained knowledge of the existence of such species, few can actually stop them from overrunning the world. Those who are capable of stopping these ¡°creatures¡± were known as Borne-hunters. They wield extreme resistance towards blood-based weapons and are able to excrete pheromones which are capable at both shutting down and destroying the immune system of the bloodbornes. Without the most natural defenses against pathogens, they are easily weakened to a state where they get severely crippled in terms of combat abilities. Facing off against the hunters, even a child may be able to discern who would win in a 1 on 1 battle.
Althoughseveral weeks passed, the panic still remained quite alive among the citizens. Every night, fear of being consumed and devoured by a bloodborne plagued the minds of the residents. Paranoids even exclaimed that, ¡°it¡¯s the end of the world¡±, though country leaders started denying such claims and called them paranoia, although the question of whether the apocalypse is arriving still remained. The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
Day after day, more and more people are turned into borne-food. Presidents, Prime Ministers... every government¡¯s highest authority tries to swat away such news. Clearly though, it didn¡¯t even ease any of the existing paranoia. In fact, it indicated that even they can¡¯t seem to reduce the tragedies let alone stop these cases from happening.
Though no longer than 3 months after the existence of Bloodbornes have been found out, an NGO formed. Consisting of mainly Borne-hunters, their aim were to hunt and reduce the number of bloodbornes, thereby reducing the chances of mankind being completely consumed by them. The founders, not one, but three, were known as saviors after their first act of rescuing victims from bloodbornes. Word spread after that, causing a ray of hope to finally shine once again onto the deep, dark world. And soon, the organization began expanding by using the resources received from every government in the world.
Chapter 2: Premonition
Expanding all over the world thinned the organisation''s forces considerably, since the amount of hunters within the organisation may be too small to even form a proper one. As all three founders were no longer grouped together but put onto different continents, they had tasked themselves with the job of recruiting more hunters and allowing the respective governments to fund them even more.
Ever since their establishment, no matter what they requested from the UN, in the end, they would agree in exchange for their worldwide protection. Their daily spendings exceeded any of the daily spendings a normal person usually would by ten to one.
In terms of spending funds on firearms, they were mostly ineffective due to the high regenerative abilities of a bloodborne. Thus, the only way was to either get into melee combat and kill them near instant or obliterate their bodies before it can heal. Either way was too difficult for normal soldiers since they would get killed within a blink of an eye once they enter three arms length of a bloodborne.
That means, the only ones capable of even touching a bloodborne would be the so called borne-hunters.
As more and more hunters were recruited and gathered, the amount of bloodbornes decreased dramatically because hunting parties were sent frequently. Before long, the hunters would always outnumber the targets, leaving them defenseless against troops which were trained to one-shot them.
Such a situation would have been a good turn for the better ,but with the constant sending of hunting parties, the funds to support the organization were limited. As funds decreased, the amount of hunters willing to work for the organization unpaid decreased dramatically, too. Though some said it was in the name of justice for them to continue on, most of it was just because they knew that after the others leave, they would finally get paid, even in large sums. At the end of the day, a lot of them decided to work solo or form groups of their own to hunt, causing a decrease in hunting efficiency and quality.
On the other hand, thanks to an evolution for the bloodbornes, they could now control victims to a certain degree through the manipulation of the victim¡¯s blood after injecting their own blood into them. As a plus, they could draw blood from others to take in the antibodies, thereby preventing a much more severe decrease in combat ability, though it still decreased considerably. They, too, could think much more clearly after only draining the blood of their victims instead of eating them whole, a major advantage for them to work together and fight off hunting parties, or counterattack them.

The headquarters was more like a secret bunker underground, having only one pathway leading in and out, at least as far as my colleagues knew. A wooden table stood in the middle while a lamp was hung above it, illuminating the otherwise dark room. Four chairs were arranged for seating at the side while the table had only two chairs on both sides, and a glass of water was placed on top of the table.Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.
Their reaction to the news I just announced was to be expected. One minute I told them about the funds declining and possibly causing them to become incomeless, the next they decided to go solo or create a group of their own, becoming free mercenaries. I stood there with a calm look, crossing arms as they walked out from the room and out through the heavy, new steel door that weigh at least a ton, only being able to open it thanks to the assistance from the powered hinges
¡±We need to convince them, Tempest. We can¡¯t let them go alone or split! Who knows what the nightmarish creatures would do to them after abducting them.¡± The woman beside me, Alice, voiced out her worries as she grabbed and shook me with her inhuman strength, with the grip of hers digging into my sleeves, causing a bearable amount of pain to flow into my brain for registration.
¡±We can¡¯t do anything about it, the contract said so. So long as that¡¯s what they decide, we can¡¯t affect their decisions anymore.¡± I reminded her of the recruiting contract they signed.
The contract was used to bind hunters to the organization for a month. It was also a choice for the contractee to make a difference with their innate abilities as hunters. Though most were unwilling at first, though after reading the terms which obviously favored them, they signed it, sans hesitation.
Due to the desperate times of requiring more hunters to take down bloodbornes, we forced ourselves to make the contract which were against us. We had no choice since the country would be in danger if the bloodborne population was not reduced. As more and more bloodbornes were caught red handed during their feedings, although most of the time the general police were killed immediately and consumed, panic was once again spreading around like some sort of pandemic.
As I sank into thought sitting on the chair next to the table while staring at the glass of water, it cracked before shattering. For the first time after knowing bloodbornes existed in our world, I finally found something which proved quite relieving. Trying the act on a more solid object such as the table, the table instantly broke as if a large first hammered into the center of it, causing it to break and split into four parts.
I thought it was a shocking surprise, yet the others around just stared at me as if they won a lottery ticket.
"Woah, do that again, boss," a man in tight but flexible clothing stated.
"Wow... That was somewhat peculiar.." Alice stated with a stiff shoulder.
"Can you control the skill?" another woman asked the obvious question which, even I wanted to know.
As more and more of them voiced out their questions, a strong ''thud'' on the door caused everyone to look at it. A questionable dent can be seen from the inside. Clearly, someone hit the door with something hard enough to even bent the heavy steel door.
"Wha...?" Alice voiced out her own surprise.
As more and more of us began speaking, a muffled scream was heard from the other side of the door while everyone tensed. Several more screams followed and a yell of courage was heard along with the screams. In that very moment, we knew something was wrong, very wrong.
Chapter 3: Creatures of the night
Perspective: Tasha (2nd founder)
Current Location: Asia
[3 hours before Tempestas being attacked]
"Come on everyone. Time to suit up," I said lazily as I wore my armor.
We received another request for the extermination of bloodbornes within a 1km radius at Malaysia. Several weeks ago, new recruits started showing promising results as they dismissed the facts which came after the killing of another living being, through brute force and gore, of course.
The first time when they joined the branch in Asia, the look of excitement and curiousity in their eyes at what we do annoyed me, a lot. No matter how much they got shut up, it always ended up with tons of questions and guesses on how we do things.
The branch in Asia was a tall building, though not as tall as a skyscraper, just a two stories high building. There was a sign stating the organisation''s name and what we do, though I''m pretty sure everyone in the city knew about what we do because there were hidden cheers when we arrived and set up the working base.
The building itself wasn''t in a really good condition. Perfect, a good test subject to try my painting skills on. For the first few days, I was determined enough to get up from bed at 7 a.m., where the sun rose to a noticeable degree, and get to work on painting the building myself. Though after that few days, I felt like the God of Sloth chose me as her puppet. I just gave up on the idea of painting the building myself and hired a few paint workers to do it for me.Of course, the funds for the organisation was used to pay them.
The outer walls of the building was painted white to prevent too much heat from entering the building. The inside was a mix of black and grey while the floor tiles were covered by large marble stones. There was a desk placed in the middle of the room where the receptionist (me) would sit and on the second floor, weapons for dealing with bloodbornes were stored. It consisted of obsidian blades, which is quite rare and pretty expensive, but the quality and work it does makes up for most of it, and grenades, which would pretty much blow anyone up who is dumb enough to pull the pin and not throw then run for it.
There was not a few, but a lot of houses bought using the organisation''s money to house the new recruits. All were well equipped with weapons to deal with emergencies such as a bloodborne "accidentally" entering your house. Basic machinery such as washing machines and dishwashers were equipped as well.
As I was saying, after the new recruits got experience on the "real" training first-hand, the earlier curiousity and excitement in their eyes no longer existed. Even the traces of its previous existence was cleared. Life was somehow... dull for the first few days after the initial training, but it got better after that since they got used to the training.
After reminiscing the past and procrastinating a little, I finally got my hunting gears prepared. Hunting parties sent were not infrequent, though for new recruits to finally get some real battle experience, it was pretty rare and proved to be quite a challenging task at first. You could be reading stolen content. When I got out of my changing room, everyone immediately stood up and waited for orders.
"Alright pussies, this is the time to prove your worth. Let''s teach these creatures never. To. Mess. With. Humans," as soon as my motivation speech was given out, everyone roared with battle lust, eyes containing flames when looked at. It was a sign of prebattle determination and strengthened wits, powerful enough to cause a person who was initially afraid of battle to charge in mindlessly and become a war maniac.
Looking at these warriors, at this moment, I felt a sense of accomplisment and smiled for the first time after recruiting these assholes.
During thetravel on an armored truck to the intended destination, a loud ''thunk'' could be heard as something hit the armored vehicle we were in. Everyone in the truck stared at the dent formed. As I stared in surprise, the second vehicle carrying 20 recruits was blown off the road by what seemed to be alarge chunk of earth. The truck in question was sent crashing into the thick forest by the road, and definitely did not stop just a meter or two away from the road.
Following after thatwas a bloody scream, a scream which threatened to break our eardrums. The sound wassomewhat inhuman yet it still resembled a woman screaming.
Armed with obsidian knives, everyone on the vehiclegot off just like during training sessions.I''ve got to say, a recruit before being trained versus a recruit after undergoing the training certainly had a difference when standing on the battlefield. They took a stance which prepared them against most ambushes.
Without really knowing who or what threw the great chunk of rock which crashed the previous truck, fear was budding from the depths of our thoughts as our natural instincts went wild. Despite that fact, tactical strategy was placed more of a priority than instincts.
"Team 1, begin reconnaissance.Team 2 spread out and secure the area. The rest follow me,"my voiceechoing around the somewhat empty but not quite abandoned area spoke of authority. Quietly, everyone took their positions as the restwho were ordered to follow me covered my back.
The tense atmosphere could not be dissipated even though our battle hunger kicked in. There was something unnatural about the situation that made me rethink my decisions, but I ignored it and kept moving forward as planned.
I was leading my squad to where the truck crashed when I heard another inhuman scream. This time was more like a banshee screaming than anything else. Accompanying itwas a pain I have never experienced before assaultingmy mind.Closing my ears with the palm of my hands, attempting to block off the noise, I screamed in pain as I fell to my knees when they buckled. Slowly but surely, my consciousness started to fade. From the glimpse provided beforethevestige of my consciousnessfaded, everyone was affected too, as they all passed outaround me.
The last thought Ihad was, ''how the fuck does the sound and pain work?"
When I woke up, pain surged through my head as if I was trying to crack my skull by hitting it with a hammer. A few more minutes passed as I sat on the ground trying to soothe the surging pain.
Why did it have to be like this? I complained to myself. The pain stopped all of a sudden after the few minutes and vanished as if it was never there in the first place.
Weird, outright weird. Ohwell, got to check for more pressing issues first. Boss is not gonna be happy with me if I left the recruits to die.
I walkedon carefully, as to not let the inhuman creatures residing in the forest to know about my plan. As I got closer, smoke irritated my nostrils.
"Finally," I muttered under my breath as I headed to the crash clearing.
Taking a peek, the sceneI saw disgusted the hell out of me.
I could only say it in my head as I kept myself from vomitting, and that was...
"What the fuck are those creatures?"
Chapter 4: Fear
A blizzard ragedlike every other morning on thiswhite, barren landscape. In the middle of what looks like a thick ice fog, an almost indistinguishable building which melded with the snow was built there. It looked like its counterparts on the othercontinents, a bunker built with several underground facilities.
The harsh wind would occasionally send fragments of stone and ice towards the bunker. If seen from a bird''s eye view, it would look more like a man trying to swap a persistently-holding-on fly from his shoulder, except the fly is more persistent and sturdy than it looks. Reinforced with several layers of carbon steel and a few thin layers of inconel. Even chromium plateswere used to lock all the pieces together.
Sitting on a chair inside the bunker, looking out through a small reinforced glass covered window, was a man. Clean shaven, brown pupils, a bald head and a well built body being covered by a blanket, and an unwavering gaze that seemed to even pierce through the thick fog. Sitting on his favourite chair, along with a mug of hotchocolatein hand, he stared on and on, until another one of his colleagues came out.
"Yo, capt..." the man who came out from his room, clearly awoken just not long ago, greeted his captain before moving on to wash up. He had a pair of emerald green eyes, a sharp chin and messy hair which made him, most of the time, the one that stands out.
Not turning around, the captain drank from the mug on his hand and continued watching the raging storm which tried to uproot their base from the ground. It was a strategic place, as the saying goes, the most dangerous place may be the safest place a person could find.
Perfect, the captain thought to himself, no bloodborne would dare come near us in such weather.
He chuckled at the thought of it, then continued to drink from his cup of hot choclate which seemed to sooth thehis unstable attitude.

Current Location: Greenland
[4 hours before distress signal sent by Tempestas]
As I finished the mug of beverage that broughtmewamth in this climate, the others were already up and about. A few of them were eating breakfast andchatting casually at thedininglevel, while someotherswere still washing up.
Standing up then walking towards the kitchen, I heard another scream as Juke, the green eyed recruit, got caught trying to peek at the girls, again.
Not again, I''m going to have to shut that son of a bitch down if he continues on like this, I thought to myself.
"Hey captain, aren''t you going to punish him?" Yeri asked before swallowing the food in his mouth.
"You know that''s like the third time this month, right? Somebody''s going to have to keep watch of him if he keeps itup , Jake," Bash added on. The girls around shuddered at the thought of being peeked, again, by Juke.
"Alright, alright, I''ll go take his lunch away, happy?" Sounding annoyed, I walked to the fridge, then to the counter after grabbing a few eggs, some left over bean curds and a few sausages.
I was never good at cooking, but at least I''ve got the basics since my mother forced it into me before I even knew what I was doing. Frying a few eggs and sausages was never something I struggled to do, then again, no one my age struggled at such a simpletask.
By the time I was frying the third sausage, another loud scream reverberated, followed by an extremely man-like battlecry. What took everyone a few moments to understand took me a little more than a blink of the eyes to discern.
"You know what? Fuck this," ignoring the sausage on the frying pan, I stormed out of thedining level and went to the washing floor. Everyone else laughed behind my back at the fate of the man named Juke, for I was burning with rage because of the interruption I got when trying to prepare my breakfast.Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more.
Walking down the spirals, I recalled the first time everyone positioned herestanding outside the base. They saw only what was on the outside, and since they haven''t even seen the insides yet, they thought it was a crappy base meant for trained soldiers to stay.
The one who voiced out all of their thoughts was, naturally, Juke. He didn''t dare to make a sound at first when I drove the jeep through the snow to the base at first, but after some ice breaking between the recruits and occasionally voicing out my opinions on what they were discussing, he seemed like a different person, unlike the silent shy boy he was when recruited.
"Uh, sir. Is this where we''re supposed to live for the duration of our duty here? It looks like it couldn''t even support its own weight, sir. No offense," I still remember what Juke said at that time. I chuckled remembering the face he wore that time. Now, he was all grown up due to the training, he was now a man, though the thought of him not growing out of his perverted habits made me frown.
Arriving at the door of the washing level, I was momentarily taken aback by the familiar smell emittingfrom the other side of the door. Iron smelling, not supposed to be enjoyed as food andcurrently flowingin our veins: blood.
When I opened the door, the scene before me bewildered me.Holding the door open, blood can be seen everywhere, even on the walls. Just beside the door lied the emerald green eyes man, with one of hisarms cut off, or more precisely, pulled off by something. At first glance, he seemed to be bleeding a lot, though as you graduallyfocusedonto hisdried wound and the walls which were supposed to be cobalt blue in color but instead dyed red by blood, not all ofthe currently present blood was his.
A shadow can be seen moving around at one of the bathrooms. As it stretched, it no longer looked humanoid, but a creature with sharp teeth could be seen through the careful deduction of the shadow''s mouth. A scream echoed from the bathroom, followed by blood splattering out from it. As the pool of blood on the floor growed, a half mutilated, multi-headed creature walking on both legsand arms jumped out to drink the blood. There were bones protruding out of his flesh from where the backbone was. Both of its arms were skinny but looked to be filled with strength and vigor as it assisted in its own movements towards the pool of blood. As if sensing it was no longer alone and was being looked at, its mutilated head, along with its other heads, turned so suddenly that I was startled for a second.
Panic surfaced as I struggled to pull up the fallen man who sat beside the door. He felt a thousand times heavier than before.
Locking its eyes, which I''m not even sure if it has one, onto me, it crawled slowly in my direction.
While I dragged the fallen man through the door, the creature advanced faster and faster as it crawled towards me. Each of its steps served to accelerate its speed to capturing its prey, in this case, me.
I struggled even more trying to pull Juke over the door frame and through the door. The closing door even made it harder to pull him through since it used up one of my hands to hold it open.
The moment he got through, i muttered a silent thanks to god. Without further ado, I started pulling him up the stairs.
"Oh my god.."
"Quick! Get the first aid kit"
"What happened Jake?"
The three previously dining women were now standing on top of the stairs, looking down at the tragic scene before their eyes. All three of them were shocked by what they saw, but Bash was the first of them to get back into reality.
"Are there any others down there? We need to go check!" she started walking down the stairs in a hurry.
"Don''t! Don''t go down there, theres some kind of creature down there. And no... I don''t think there are any other surviving members other than Juke himself. Go grab your weapons, cause'' this thing which we will be fighting is gonna be one motherfucker,"
Hearing my reply, Bash quickly shook the other two girls back to their senses and retreated up the stairs.
Half way up to thedining level and I heard the door leading into the washing level opening. There was no crash as I expected the monster to ram the door, and instead a person pushing open the door.
My instincts went wild at the thought of the creature squeezing through the door. Andto my horror, a man walked up from the stairs and looked at me. Seeing the fear in my eyes, he grinned widely. Then, as if some horror movie set being played before my eyes, his face started turning into the one I saw mutilated.
Legs trembling, fear showing, hands shaking, cold sweat spewed from my bare skin, wetting my clothes. I muttered a word as I got pulled up by Bash. "Bloodborne." Bash was saying something to me, something about letting go and leaving Juke, that it would not do to loss both me and Juke. Her face, her voice seemed so distant. It was as if the cold blizzard''s temperature started setting into me all of a suddenthe truth of how cold it was, how deadly it was for anyone, no matter how trained and skilled.
Chapter 5: Awakening
Perspective: Jake
As I got dragged away from Juke, I couldsee the life seeping out of him. Unconsciously, I got so bonded with him that it made me grieve, if even for a second.
"I''ll avenge you, my friend..." I muttered under my breath as I got dragged away.
The moment we got onto the dining level, the others were well equipped with hunting equipments. Crossbows with the tips covered with a layer of our immune-cells-filled blood, obsidian blades madejust for quick and swift slashings. With the other two women holding my equipments, I equipped myself with it.
--------------------
By the time I geared up, Bash, along with a man named James and another woman called Martha was standing guard near the entrance. The only sound echoing from the entrance to the stairs was the air ventilation system and the occasional ''thud'' from the blizzard still raging on outside, though it wasn''t as powerful as before as it got closer to noon.
Silence, everyone was tensed and prepared for anything that could happen. The first to speak again was the previously armored lady who was holding my equipment, May.
"Is it still there?" her voice containing a tinge of fear.
"It shouldn''t be this intelligent. Non of the ones we combated so far has such abilities, even if you considered it could have learned," James voiced out everyone''s opinion on the matter. The bloodbornes we contacted so far seemed not to have any intelligence, let alone have the strength to slaughter a dozen hunters.
"One of us has to go scout the situation, any volunteers?" Just as I asked, the electric supply cut off.
"What the-"
Before he could even finish, a large explosion could be heard at where the backup generator was supposed to be, followed by the emergency lockdown system booting up.
"We''re locked in!"
"No! I can''t die like this!"
"I... I can''t breathe..."
A few of them panicked, but calmed down due to their training kicking in.
"We are now under lockdown mode, we have to get someone to the security room to open the doors if we want to escape," my voice boomed in the seemingly silent dining hall.
"But how? You know how strong the bloodborne we have here is, don''t you?" Bash stated, ostensibly unperturbed by what happened.
"I DON''T WANT TO DIE, CAPTAIN. DON''T YOU FUCKING DARE SEND ME," Martha shouted at me with wide eyes. Looking into it, I could see insanity slowly gaining control of her thoughts.
"Me either! Either you go yourself and let us out, OR we all die here, so which one is it?" James asked me while tottering around, looking distressed while asking me in front of everyone.
"I.. kind of agree. I mean, who the hell installed the lockdown system anyway? Wasn''t it captain who prepared the base before our arrival?" the other woman who held onto my equipment stated the fact which turned all theirblames towards me.
"Wait, you guys can''t be serious right? I mean, he''s just trying to protect everyone here right?" Bash was the only one who defended me, while everyone else glared at me.
"Oh what do you know, you slutty whore.you''re just defending him cause he''s your partner in bed, am I wrong?" Martha just stated plainly.
Some looked shock at the sudden revelation, while others just ignored the fact. Bash was flustered at the comment, but quickly regained composure, though what she said out loud told me otherwise.
"FINE, the two of us will go to the security room and unlock the doors, go and escape while you guys still can!" She just decided on her own of what I was going to choose, even though I was kind of hoping either to not go alone or not go at all. Wish partially granted. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.
The moment her words got through to the others, everyone else followed Martha and James out of the dining hall, while I was dragged along, still kind of shocked, by Bash to the security room, which was accesible through the circulating vents.
It was at that moment that I regrettedmy past decisions for the rest of my life.
On another continent, Tasha was struggling to keep still from being detected by the bloodbornes. She was hiding behind a large trunked tree, near the crash site of the second vehicle.
Remembering what she saw made her wonder what it took for people to reach and cross the boundaries of madness. Three bloodbornes were sucking the blood and life out of the crash victims. Drained corpses were tossed beside the vehicle while they continued on feeding. When she puked, one of the three looked up from its prey, but after smelling the air a few times, it went back to draining the prey in its arms.
They were communicating via a language only known to them. Speaking occasionally, or it would be more proper to call it growling, they would look around before resuming theirtask in hand.
She sensed that she could not even fight one of them by herself, let alone all three together. It was basically suicide.
Though moments after she observed the bloodbornes, they finished feeding and screeched, once again releasing the ear piercing sound into the forest. The sound did not hurt her even slightly, though if it did, she just didn''t feel it. It was like a one time use kind of weapon. Following after, the three of them split, one hopping from tree to tree, another flew into the skies as if it were a bird and the last one dug through the ground like a mole.
Seeing this as her chance to escape, she quickly ran but soon found herself lost in the forests. Not long after, she ran out of breath and was now hiding behind this tree.
Breathing raggedly, she thought of how lucky she was to still be living even though she was lost. There was still a sliver of hope left in her, and she grasped at it as hard as she could. Try as she might, the sliver just slipped past her fingers everytime.
Giving up in her daydream, she returned to reality. It was still the same tree-filled forest, yet, there was a shadow behind a particular tree. Squinting, she could see it was just a large leave.
Relieved at the fact that it was not her predator, she walked on to where she thought was south. But the relieve was short lived when two tendrils shot out from the ground and wrapped around her legs, locking her in place. To her horror, the bloodborne she saw flying into the sky landed in front of her, wanting to consume her before its partner does.
Another one burst out from the trees around her, sandwiching her. The one in the ground bursted out while still having its tendrils wrapped around her legs. As it got up, the she was jerked upside down by it.
Attempting to grab at her blades after recovering from her shock, she found the blades no longer in her possesion. Instead, she saw the two blades held up by another two tendrils extending from the one holding her.
The three of them started communicating once more, leaving her in an agitated state. She closed her eyes as hard as she could, to block off the disgusting sounds made by these monsters. Though she blocked most things out from her senses, she still saw the sliver of hope from before.
Attempting to grab at it again, the sliver kept on slipping out of her grasp. Struggling over and over, it still slipped out of her clutches. She felt like giving up at that moment, and started accepting the fact that she was hallucinating, until she heard the growling stopped and suckers were being attached to her neck.
"What the-"
She tried screaming, but found herself unable to. Tried twisting around, but was still unable to execute such actions.
Muttering a silent prayer in her mind, she gave up hope. Ironically, the moment she gave up hope, she knew that she would once again see the sliver of hope, but this time she knew she would be able to gain purchase on it.
"By... God''s grace..." she silently sputtered as she once again attempted at grabbing the sliver of hope.
The moment she gained purchase on it, she felt different. She felt like she was no longer in any kind of restrictions, and that anything was possible, but she knew it was just a thought before dying due to being drained dry.
Yet, what she saw when she opened her eyes said otherwise.
There was a look of shock on the face of the bloodbornes as their suckers merged into her neck. Instinctively, as if she had this kind of ability all along, she pulled the three of them towards her with just a slight tug, even though they were trying with all their might to pull away.
Like it was natural, they merged into her, mouth first since it was connected to the suckers merging with her, then slowly the head and their whole body. By the time she assimilated the three of them into her body, she felt like she grew taller and stronger too. There was also a feeling of accomplishment gushing out of the depths of her heart.
Surprised more by the fact that she killed three bloodbornes simultaneously than her newfound abilities, she quickly regained her senses and was even more surprised to find her instincts telling her where EXACTLY was north and where was south.
"Weeeeeell, at least I didn''t die~:" her worries were alleviated by her sudden change of power. Though itresurfaced as fast as it went the instantshe felt the digital distress signaller vibrating. It showed who was sending it and even from where too.
"Looks like Mr. Thunderstorm is in a whole lot of trouble to even bother involving us~" following her self comment, she ran in the direction of where the nearest airport was to board it but soon realised she didn¡¯t have her passport with her.
