《Dungeon Master Life In Another World!》 Prologue People had been living life for granted. Not knowing how precious it is. Wasting each day on things they don¡¯t like for a future they want. We¡¯ll at least that¡¯s how I lived my life. Before a large truck sped and hit me, turning me instantly into mush. My whole life was then displayed in front of my eyes like a hologram. From my childhood all the way to my middle school student life. My first though then was ¡®wow, what a boring and insignificant life¡¯. I wonder why I even lived like that. Just when I was complaining to myself about the way I had lived, a flashing blind light appeared and this happened. "So you''re telling me that I died, got reincarnated, and now will become a dungeon master in your world?" "Hmmm, pretty much" ¡°Oh ok, I understand¡ Is that what you think what I was I was going to say oh almighty God!¡± I am currently talking to a self proclaimed god in a white room that seemed to extend for eternity. The self proclaimed god had a body of blinding white light so whenever I talk I always look to the side instead of looking at him head on. To be honest, it looks kind of stupid. ¡°Are you crazy? Who would want to live in a world like that!¡±This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it ¡°Look¡ it¡¯s not like I was the reason the world is like that. Besides, there are other gods too. Why are you only blaming me?¡± ¡°Isn¡¯t that obvious, didn¡¯t you just say that I was supposed to be reborn in Earth again if you hadn¡¯t tried to create other dungeon masters as well? But nooooo, I just had to be reincarnated in a world without proper hygiene because of a clumsy mistake of a failure of a god. If I had been born on earth again, I could¡¯ve been called a child genius!¡± ¡°¡Even if you say that¡ it¡¯s not like I did it on purpose you know. This is the first time this happened. Besides you¡¯re not the only person from earth. There are reincarnated and transported people from there too¡± ¡°Huh? There are others?¡± Because of my hesitation, the failure of a god saw an opportunity and continued speaking. ¡°Oh why yes. Of course there are. Some of them even became heroes while others turned into rulers¡± ¡°¡¡± I had to admit, this is now beginning to get tempting. ¡°Oh one more thing¡± The failure of a god then continued speaking after seeing me hesitate. ¡°I forgot to say this. But the world you¡¯re going to be reincarnated to has magic¡± ¡°I¡¯ll do it¡± ¡°What?¡± ¡°I said I¡¯ll do it¡± ¡°¡¡± After a few seconds of silence, the failure of a god then continued speaking. ¡°This is why humans are so¡ *sighs* just so you know. It¡¯s banned for science to spread ok. Also please don¡¯t let anyone get near your dungeon core since if it gets destroyed, you¡¯ll die¡± Coughing a couple of times he then continued ¡°Alright then I¡¯ll be reincarnating you now.¡± ¡°Huh?¡± "So, please make your dungeon thrive and don''t let anyone destroy your dungeon core ok" "Huh! Wha-" "Goodbye" My vision was then enveloped by a bright light. Just like that, I was summoned into another world. Chapter 1 ¡°It¡¯s small¡¡± The dungeon which is now under my control is a small open area of a cave. It is 25 meters in length and width. Although it may not look too small at a glance, this is supposed to be a place where adventurers fight. ¡°*sighs* Nothing can be done about it anyway¡± In the middle of the room, a shining meter long crystal pulsated with red light to which I assume to be the so called dungeon core. it stood in the miidle of the room proudly, as if telling everyone who sees it ¡®break me please¡¯. ¡°I want a do over¡¡± As I was lamenting of my bad luck. Small letters began to appear in the air in front of me. ¡®Greetings Dungeon Master As you are well aware, you have been created by the Goddess of Dungeons, Aurelia You now have free reign over your dungeon to do as you wish But beware; there are rules that must be followed Failing to follow any of these rules will result in immediate expulsion (Death)¡¯ After reading everything, the letter vanished as if it was never there. ¡°She¡¯s a girl?¡± The self proclaimed God¡¯s voice was indistinguishable if it was a man or a woman. What¡¯s more it referred to itself as a god not a goddess. Seems like the term God in this world can be used no matter what the gender¡ or maybe she just had a complex about it. ¡°It¡¯s not like it matters anyway¡ guess I¡¯ll just open the dungeon shop¡± After thinking of opening the dungeon shop, a hologram appeared with categories in them. The categories listed are monsters, landscape, items, and mystery box. It also told me that I am currently earning 5 dungeon points daily. ¡°Well the most basic thing to do is to buy monsters right? ¡®*Unnamed Dungeon* Dungeon Points: 100 MONSTERS Wild Goblin: 10 Human: 2500 Wild Orc:75 Skeleton: 35 Vampire: 10,000 Lesser Lich: 3,500 Nightmare: 35,000 Arc Gnoll: 750 Succubus: 4500 Ordinary Slime: 5 ¡¡¯ ¡°It¡¯s starting to really look like a game¡±Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings. Although it is tempting to go buy a monster right this instant. With my better judgment I decided not to as there might be something better in the other catalogs. ¡°Let¡¯s see¡¡± ¡®*Unnamed Dungeon* Dungeon Points: 100 LANDSCAPE Increase Floor Size: 100 Add Floor: 1,000 Change Terrain: (Depends on what type) Short Distance Transportation Tile: 50,000 ¡¡¯ ¡®*Unnamed Dungeon* Dungeon Points: 100 ITEMS Fireball Skill Scroll: 750 Lesser Instant Heal Potion (Impure): 750 Light Devouring Sword: 750,000,000 Axe of Gluttony: 5,000,000 World Tree Nectar (1ml): 1,000,000 Amulet of Truth: 5,000,000 Cheese Cake: 50 Rusty Short Spear: 5 Iron Pickax: 75 ¡¡¯ ¡®*Unnamed Dungeon* Dungeon Points: 100 MYSTERY BOX Empty Mystery Box: 1 Poor Man¡¯s Mystery Box: 10 Beginner Mystery Box: 100 Intermediate Mystery Box: 1,000 Advance Mystery Box: 10,000 ¡¡¯ ¡°Isn¡¯t this too hardcore?¡± Everything listed in the catalog had a whooping amount. With my current Dungeon Points I am only able to buy the most basic of any of these categories. ¡°*sighs* there really isn¡¯t much of a choice¡± In the end I bought 2 skeletons, pickax, and a rusted short spear. I mean I could¡¯ve bought others especially the humans for example. But I had to feed and let them rest unlike the tireless but weaker skeletons. The most important thing right now is to increase my safety and to increase the dungeon points earned daily. Since I currently don¡¯t have a foolproof plan in increasing my dungeon points, isn¡¯t the next best thing to increase my security? ¡°Can you guys understand me?¡± ¡°¡¡± ¡°¡¡± Not making a sound. The two looked at me without moving. Walking towards them, I threw the rusted short spear to the one on the right and the iron pickax to the one on the left. ¡°All right, you protect the dungeon core while you dig the area around the cave then throw it outside¡± I said these to the two and got a nod in return before following my orders silently. ¡ It had been a few days since I had reincarnated into a dungeon master. The dungeon which I rule is now starting to get bigger. Although the dungeon is still small, after a few weeks it should be somewhat acceptable. If the one I had bought was an actual living monster that needs rest and food then the progress then would be quite slow. Buying skeletons as workers was a great idea after all. The soil and rocks that was originally part of the walls of the dungeon is now placed in front of the dungeon¡¯s entrance and made it look like there was nothing on the other side. The entrance was hard to spot from the outside due to it being small while one could easily find it from the inside. I currently have no powerful trap or monster that can assure my survival so I had no choice but to do this. In these few days I also went outside and explored the outside perimeters of the cave to get a better idea of where the dungeon is located. ¡°Well, at least there seems to be no powerful threats nearby¡± What I¡¯m looking at right now is a very lush forest filled with vitality. The chirping of birds and the occasional small animal that curiously peeked their heads from bushes and on top of trees to look at me is the picture perfect idea of nature¡¯s beauty. ¡°How beautiful¡¡± I¡¯m not sure if a dungeon master is a race or title in this world but nevertheless I may be currently a dungeon master but my ethics is still that from earth even when I no longer had the need to sleep, eat, drink, breath, or take baths. ¡°I guess it¡¯s time to go back now¡± I had the basic information needed so now I can be more relaxed about my and the dungeon¡¯s safety. Walking towards the center of the cave, a skeleton wearing no armor and only holding a rusted spear greeted me by bowing his head slightly before looking at the empty air once again while the other skeleton did not bother looking at me and instead continued hitting the walls using his pickax with practiced movements. ¡°I¡¯ll just let that guy increase the first floor¡¯s space for today. Tomorrow he should start making the dungeon¡¯s second floor after creating another room¡± At first the skeleton with the pickax did not know what to do and just continued hitting the walls using his pickax without taking out the soil and rocks because of his inherently low intellect because of being a low level undead which made me almost pull my hair out. After a few more instructions he understood what to do and was able to do the job satisfactorily. It should be no problem if I should add a bit more as long as they are simple. ¡°Guess I should help¡± Taking a brown sack from the corner which I bought the day after being brought into this world, I scooped out the soil and the small rocks using my free hand and put them inside the sack. ¡°I should have bought a shovel¡± Although I did consider this thought for a moment. I denied it a second later, buying an rusted iron shovel cost 5 dungeon points. Although this might sound like a good deal, in reality it isn¡¯t. I hadn¡¯t bought one to make sure and instead made my assumptions on the rusted short spear I had previously bought. Just scraping the sides using my nails made the side have small nail marks which are proof of its extremely poor quality. To be honest I doubt it would be much useful in battle unless the opponent has a weak body and has no armor and weapon. Taking the sack with me, I carried it on my body with difficulty and slowly walked towards the entrance before dumping the contents out. Using my hands I made it stick closer to the pile of soil and rocks next to it. Looking at the big mound of dirt that did not look out of place from the rocky exterior of the cave¡¯s entrance, I made a small smile and thought of how much progress I and my monster made these few days. ¡°Just a few more weeks¡¡± Just a few more weeks and my plan to increase my dungeon points will start. Chapter 2 ¡°There we go¡± I nodded my head as I placed a huge chunk of fragrant meat that was bought for 30 dungeon points on the skeleton that was previously using the pickax. It has been a few weeks since I became a dungeon master and now the dungeon has 5 rooms on the first floor and one small room on the second floor. In the past the dungeon points I earned daily was only 5. Now probably because I increased the dungeon¡¯s size, the daily dungeon points being earned was 13. I am now currently setting my plans into motion. ¡°All right, let¡¯s begin¡± Ordering the skeleton to go outside, we walked for a hundred meters into the forest. Stopping in a open clearing, I took out a small knife from my pocket that was also bought for 5 dungeon points and sliced a considerable chunk of meat and placed it on top of some leaves. ¡°Let¡¯s go¡± We walked back to the dungeon and placed smaller chunks of meat every 5 meters on the way. Upon reaching the center of the first floor, I then took the still huge chunk of meat from the skeleton and dropped it on the floor. ¡°Skeleton No.2, go and rub some dirt on your body outside¡± With a small nod, the skeleton then walked out of the cave. The dungeon currently has no water supply and since I didn¡¯t want to use dungeon points unless it was necessary, I didn¡¯t buy water from the dungeon shop. I didn¡¯t wash myself using the dirt outside unlike the skeleton since my body has a auto clean function. Whenever I get dirty, my body and clothes automatically gets cleaned. I just learned of this on the first few days after I became a dungeon master when I was helping the skeleton take out the soil and rocks outside. I noticed then that my body was still not that dirty even when I worked day and night. After the skeleton came back with a dirt filled body, I then opened a solid rock like door with a scraping in the middle with big letters saying ¡®BREAK ME IF YOU WANT TO ENTER THE NEXT ROOM¡¯ using my authority as the one ruling this dungeon. After entering I then ordered it to close and then walked downstairs towards the second floor with skeleton No.2, waiting for someone or something to take the bait. ¡°¡¡± After who knows how many hours have passed. With a bored face, I along with my two monsters waited and waited. Opening the dungeon menu, it told me that it was now 3:30 pm in the evening. It seems that this world also has the same the same hours in a day, days in a week, and months in a year. ¡°Good thing this world also has similarities as the one on earth¡± Nodding my head, I then noticed red dots appearing from the dungeon entrance slowly. Using the menu, I then zoomed in to look at the intruders. ¡°Goblins?¡± Green skinned humanoid monsters wearing nothing but loincloths in order to hide their groin looked around cautiously as they slowly take steps forward towards their prize. Smelling the air, they then pounced on the piece of meat on the ground. ¡°Uwaaah¡± Looking at the dungeon catalog, it told me that with all of these goblins entering the dungeon, I was now earning 78 dungeon points a day. I mean they¡¯re goblins right? That¡¯s right Goblins. Why would goblins even give out so many dungeon points? Well the answer to this then appeared before me.Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author. A hulking goblin reaching the height of 3 meters entered the room and kicked the nearby goblins away before swallowing the leftover meat whole. Even when the others looked on with hungry eyes, no one dared to take a step forward. ¡°What kind of goblin is this? Ahhh, maybe it¡¯s an ogre¡ still I have a feeling it¡¯s a goblin.¡± Although dungeon masters can buy from the dungeon shop by searching for a name, that doesn¡¯t mean there is a picture or information given. One time when I was just randomly browsing the dungeon shop, I spotted a book in the items category called basic monster encyclopedia costing 500 dungeon points. I guess the older dungeon masters used this kind of books in order to decide what kind of monsters they should buy next. Sadly as I still have almost no dungeon points, I was not able to buy it. Once I earn a decent amount, I¡¯ll make sure to buy this kind of books. ¡°*roar*¡± With a roar, the green hulking figure waved his hands towards the rooms. Probably ordering the goblins to enter them and make sure that there was no one inside since the goblins began to enter the other rooms cautiously. After sensing that there was no one other than them, the Ogre like goblin then laid down on the ground with a thud and started snoring. ¡°Good thing I bought that stone door. If I hadn¡¯t they would¡¯ve probably attacked here. I doubt the skeletons even stand a chance against that thing¡± With a laugh, I then looked at the dungeon shop. ¡®*Unnamed Dungeon* Dungeon Points: 27 LANDSCAPE Iron Door: 2,500 Stone Door: 150 Medium Sized Rocks: 2 Small Lake: 25,000 Moving Wall: 15,000 ¡¡¯ ¡°I didn¡¯t technically fully blocked the passage so I don¡¯t think I¡¯ll be punished. I made sure to write that after all¡± With a nod, I then opened the dungeon shop. ¡®*Unnamed Dungeon* Dungeon Points: 27 MONSTERS Lesser Soul Eater: 25,000 Lesser Draconian: 35,000 Flame Dragon: 750,000 Giant: 25,000 Imp: 350 Glowing Earth Slime: 150 ¡¡¯ ¡°Edit Earth Slime¡± A panel then appeared and told me what type of change I want to happen on the glowing earth slime. ¡°Remove movement speed completely and increase its digestive powers¡± After a small light, then the panel did as it was told and showed me its new stats. After confirming that the price was greatly reduced to 25 dungeon points, I then bought the edited glowing earth slime. ¡°Skeleton No.2 go and dig some more and increase the rooms on this floor. After you''re done with that use that sack to place the soil and rocks. Once it¡¯s full, feed it to this glowing earth slime with it alright¡± I said that while pointing at the iron pickax, sack, and finally the slime. Skeleton No.2 did not move and just looked at me. With a sigh, I then explained everything in a much simpler form. ¡°Skeleton No.1 you should help as well¡± With the same orders, I made Skeleton No.2 dig but unlike Skelton No.2 he had to use his hands. I didn¡¯t have much of a choice as I don¡¯t have that much dungeon points left. ¡®I¡¯ll just buy him a pickax and a sack once I get more dungeon points. Maybe I should buy one for me as well¡¯ Deciding that, I walked towards the walls and then began to dig using my hands. The process was not that hard but it is somewhat painful. The occasional rock and the soil between my fingers made my hands bleed slightly. I had to wait for a few minutes to let my hands heal first before continuing once again. I¡¯m not doing this because I¡¯m a workaholic or anything. I just wanted to increase the dungeon¡¯s might as fast as possible. Once the dungeon reaches a certain level of power, I doubt I would even do something like this then. ¡°Huh?¡± When my hands bled again, I stopped and looked at how the goblins were doing. ¡°Since when did that happen?¡± The goblins¡¯ numbers increased to 78 and now had multiple animals tied up, making the place seem to be overcrowded. The smaller animals are being eaten dead or alive while the bigger ones like reindeer like creatures were being mated by multiple goblins. The rooms on the first floor were now increased to 7 and are still increasing. The goblins seem to have some sense in them and had different rooms for different purposes. The biggest being where the ogre like goblin slept alone. It doesn¡¯t seem they are that smart so I don¡¯t think I¡¯m breaking the rule. Still though, it made me break in cold sweat since they might be in the intelligent category as the rules wasn¡¯t specific enough. I didn¡¯t know when these all happened especially since when did the goblins had wooden spears and rusty pickaxes. But since it was helping me develop my dungeon, I am just happy with it and didn¡¯t bother finding out when this all happened. Opening the dungeon menu, I was shocked as a shocking display of 131 dungeon points being earned were written in mid air. ¡°Aren¡¯t I too lucky?¡± In my previous life I wasn¡¯t this lucky. Maybe I had used up all of my luck for a year and will be met by misfortune sometime in the future. Who knows? There is even a chance that a goddess of luck saw my kind heart and gave me a blessing of luck. ¡°*clang*¡± With the hitting of the pickax on the wall, I was then brought back to reality. Walking towards the wall, I then began digging once again. This time I took the pickax from Skeleton No.2. Chapter 3 In a small room, a youth wearing a slightly dirtied standard uniform sat in a corner. He looked around the pile of dirt in the room, ceiling and walls that were nothing but the color brown. With a sigh, he opened the dungeon menu. ¡°Uwaahhh¡¡± As expected of goblins. They sure work tough. I had been working with the skeletons tirelessly to create new rooms or expanding the current ones. When I took a break and passed the pickax back to Skeleton No.2. I opened the dungeon menu and noticed that even when it was 2:30am. They were still working tirelessly. Well, it¡¯s not like all of them are walking tirelessly. ¡°Social hierarchy sure is troublesome¡¡± The ones who were making new rooms were clearly smaller and lankier. The more robust goblins guarded them. Occasional kicks and jeering were thrown to these pitiful sleep deprived goblins, forcing them to work faster. ¡°I wonder what that guy is doing now¡± Switching the room I was looking at. I then looked for the monstrous looking goblin. ¡°*roar*¡± The ogre like goblin roared and made all the goblins in the room flustered. Taking one of the nearby goblins with his mighty hands, he threw it to the wall with a loud crash. Seeing one of them die just like that, all the goblins fled the room in a hurry and went to a room filled with fruits and carcasses. Taking everything they can get, they then ran back to their master and presented them. ¡°*munch* *munch*¡± With a burp, the ogre like goblin then slept peacefully once again. Seeing their master sleep peacefully, all the goblins in the room sighed in relief. Leaving the room, they silently went their own ways. Others moved on to the mating area with vulgar faces while others went to see if there was any leftover food. ¡°Let¡¯s see here¡¡± Instead of looking at only one room at a time, I decided that it was best to look at the dungeon as a whole. Zooming out of the room, the whole first floor was then presented before me. ¡°Guaaagghh!¡± One of the goblin groups numbering thirteen returned with a couple of berries and small animals. Returning to where the food was stored, they then got mad and stomped on the ground repeatedly while muttering what seem to be curses. ¡°*roar*¡± With that as a sign, all of them kept quiet and realized the reason why the room was empty. Walking out of the room, they then set off from the dungeon with slow and tired steps once again. Closing the dungeon menu, I rubbed my forehead. ¡°This world is really barbaric¡± I¡¯m not sure if this still holds true since I have yet to look at the intelligent beings of this world. But as of now, this is my opinion. ¡°Forget it. It¡¯s not like I can do anything even if I want to¡± This is true. Even in my world, only those who held power can order those around. The weaker ones can only obey those who are stronger than them. I¡¯m not a saint or anything. Even if I wanted to make this world into a better place, I¡¯m sure there are those who will oppose it. Think about it. What would you do if you were born in a world filled with power and others try to take that power away from you? Won¡¯t you get mad? Of course you will. That said, I¡¯m sure there are those who will help you if that is what you work for. Though I think they are in the minority.Stolen story; please report. The current me is just a weakling. Sure I had the potential to grow strong since dungeon masters grow strong overtime. But what if I made a move with my current strength, wouldn¡¯t I just die. I have to lay low until I gain enough strength. Until then, I will slowly amass power. That is my plan anyway. ¡°*sigh*¡± I¡¯m not sure my sanity would last that long however. ¡°Is there anyone I can even talk to?¡± I could just buy monsters that can speak and act normal like humans and elves. But if I do, it would be a waste of dungeon points. Something I would avoid doing if possible. ¡°It¡¯s not like they can breathe here anyway¡¡± I closed off the dungeon¡¯s second floor from the first. I made sure there was no crevice since I thought the goblins might have a good sense of smell. I doubt there is any oxygen being produced in this floor right now. Unless they are of course being magically produced just like in some novels. I¡¯m not sure though, I can still smell but I no longer need air to breathe. Of course I could just buy monsters that don¡¯t need to breathe. They are usually weaker or costlier than their counterpart so I didn¡¯t. ¡°Besides, skeletons are more useful¡± I looked at the two hardworking skeletons with moist eyes. I¡¯m not sure if not talking to anyone who can talk back had made me crazy. But as of now, I truly see these two as my comrades. ¡°Skeleton No.1 and skeleton No.2. Come here¡± Stopping in their work, the two skeletons walked towards me. The glow of the glowing earth slime showed their brown body that was previously white. Even if there was no source of light, I could¡¯ve seen that their body was no longer white. I could see in the darkness as long as it¡¯s in my dungeon after all. Why did I even buy the glowing earth slime and not just an ordinary earth slime you ask? Well, isn¡¯t that obvious? Since glowing earth slimes are easier to spot than ordinary slimes, they cost cheaper. ¡°Good job. I have some spare dungeon points that I want to use on you guys. All you have to say is thank you and I will upgrade your stats. Come on, don¡¯t be shy. Say it.¡± ¡°¡¡± ¡°¡¡± ¡°What? You wouldn¡¯t even say thanks to your master. Hahahaha! Then no upgrades for you!¡± Laughing once again, I looked at the ceiling. ¡°Hahaha¡haha..ha¡ What am I even doing?¡± Covering my face with both hands, I kept quiet for a while. ¡°¡¡± ¡°¡¡± ¡°¡¡± No one said a word during that time. Of course since I¡¯m the only one that can speak it all depended on me. ¡°What should I do?¡± I looked at two of my monsters with a blank head. ¡°Tell me what should I do?¡± No answer. ¡°*sigh* if only you guys could talk¡¡± If only they could talk¡ ¡°I would be forever grateful¡¡± Still, there was no answer. ¡°*sigh* why am I even acting like this¡± Now I really think that I¡¯ve gone mad. I¡¯m not really the type of person that expresses their feeling to others. Even if the one I¡¯m talking to can¡¯t talk back and probably doesn¡¯t understand what I¡¯m saying. In other words, I even don¡¯t talk to things like pillows and walls like a crazy person. ¡°Open Stats for Skeleton No.1 and No.2¡± With a tired face I open their stats page and looked at their stats. The two of them could really be called the weakest of the weakest. All of their stats apart from their stamina were really low. Holding back my sigh, I looked at the bottom left of Skeleton No.2¡¯s screen called evolve. Pressing it with my hands, more information was given ¡®Dungeon Points: 3,479 Race: Skeleton EVOLUTIONARY PATHS Iron Skeleton: 750 Ghostly Skeleton: 750 Lesser Lich: 3,500 Winged Skeleton: 150 Poisonous Skeleton: 350 Cursed Skeleton: 5,000 ¡¡¯ ¡°Huh?¡± This is strange. I don¡¯t think much time has passed since I had sealed off the second floor. If I¡¯m correct, only a few hours has passed. ¡°Why do I have so much dungeon points?¡± I pointed this question to no one in particular. Opening the dungeon menu, I looked at the whole dungeon. ¡°What is this?¡± The goblins began cheering as two small goblins began to fight barehanded. When the weaker looking one was hit in the throat using the stronger looking goblin¡¯s nails, blood spurted and he fell limping on the ground. Not wasting any time, the other goblin then pounced and finished the fight by kicking the dying goblin in the throat. ¡°Hoh?¡± After the weaker looking goblin died, the dungeon menu notified me that my dungeon points increased by 3. ¡°So I get more dungeon points if there are monsters dying on the dungeon?¡± With that, I was convinced. The reason I was earning so much dungeon points was because the goblins killed their prey inside the dungeon. But still, deep down, I still don¡¯t wholly believe that is the only reason. ¡°Just how many rooms did we made¡± Opening the dungeon menu, I looked at all the room in the second floor. ¡°What the fuck¡¡± There were now 13 rooms on the second floor. It seems that staying in a place without looking at the time on the dungeon menu made my body clock disorganized. ¡°That doesn¡¯t matter. I can now upgrade Skeleton No.1 and No.2¡± With glee, I looked at the two silent skeletons in the room. Chapter 4 ¡°Wait a minute. If I have this much dungeon points, doesn¡¯t that mean I can buy the basic monster encyclopedia right?¡± Opening the dungeon shop, I then bought the book without any hesitation. After light began to appear a large thick book began to materialize in midair. Realizing that it will drop to the floor if nothing catches it, I spread my hands below the book. After it fell to my hands, I then looked for the skeletons category in the table of contents. The writings in the book were in cursive and are easy to read. It was just like the ones used in wizardry films. When I found the skeletons category, I stopped and looked at the one below it. ¡°Goblins¡¡± Even though I am indeed curious about the ogre like goblin, I decided that I read about it after I was done upgrading the skeletons. Skipping the pages all the way to the skeletons category, I looked at the slightly yellow musty pages and found the one I was looking for. ¡°Here it is. Types of skeletons¡± Written in bold letters were the types of skeletons. The book only described the basic information about these monsters but as a reference this was good enough. Race: Iron Skeleton Info: A subspecies of the ordinary skeletons. They are practically only an evolved form of the ordinary skeleton, the only changes being their increased physical abilities and the color of the bones turning into a metallic color. They are mostly found in iron filled areas filled with corpses. Race: Ghostly Skeleton Info: Its appearance is like a crossbreed between a ghost and a skeleton. It can levitate for a meter at most and can¡¯t be harmed by physical attacks. There s a downside though, their movement speed and defense against magical attacks have been drastically decreased. They can think for themselves and can speak broken languages, though their intellect is only like a child. Race: Lesser Lich Info: The weakest of all the liches. They are considered inferior and are treated as slaves among the special societies of liches. They are basically the same as ordinary liches apart from being weaker in all areas. ¡ ¡°The lesser lich seems to be the most interesting of the bunch¡± I nodded my head multiple times at my conjecture. ¡°But they are too expensive so that is crossed out. In the end, I have to pick between a more useful ordinary skeleton and a smarter but seemingly not so useful skeleton¡± After contemplating for a while on which one they should evolved into. An idea struck my brain. ¡°Skeleton No.1 evolve into iron skeleton and Skeleton No.2 evolve into ghostly skeleton¡± I had two skeletons and it was a good chance to make an experiment so in the end I decided to upgrade both of them. But instead of evolving into the same monster, I had them evolve into different ones to see which is better. ¡°¡¡± ¡°T¡nk¡u¡as¡er¡±This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it Skeleton No.1 stayed silent as expected while Skeleton No.2 spoke in a ghostly voice. Seeing as I could now somewhat have a conversation without the risk of dying, I jumped towards him and attempted a bear hug, only to fall to the ground with a thud. ¡°Oh, right. Ghostly skeletons are immune to physical attacks huh¡± I attempted to touch him and since he is technically a ghost. I naturally was not able to. ¡°A¡a.h..a..ha¡± With a laughter that would make one¡¯s hair stand on all end. Skeleton No.2 laughter were like music to my ears. ¡°Hehehe, I hope you like my gift Skeleton No.2¡± ¡°M¡s..er¡.n¡.me¡± Unexpectedly, Skeleton No.2 was ungrateful for the name given to him and requested for a change of name. No, I guess he is not ungrateful. If I were also like him, I would have asked for my name to be changed too. ¡°Fine, but only after you evolve again alright?¡± With furrowed brows, this is what I came up with. After all, I didn¡¯t expect for someone to suddenly request a change of name. I didn¡¯t want to give a half assed name so that is what I said. ¡°M¡mm..¡± Nodding his head, he then made circles beside me, probably expressing his happiness. ¡°All right, and now as for Skeleton No.1¡± ¡°¡¡± Not moving an inch. Skeleton No.1 looked at me with his body that seems to made out of metal like material. He didn¡¯t speak a word, making things awkward. Pointing towards the shovel on the floor, I then ordered him to begin working once again. ¡°Still, I have some lots of dungeon points. I guess I should spend them wisely¡± Looking at the glowing earth slime, I opened his window and looked at his possible evolutions after giving back his movement speed for 130 dungeon points. ¡®Dungeon Points: 1979 Race: Glowing Earth Slime EVOLUTIONARY PATHS Earth Slime: 300 Intelligent Glowing Earth Slime: 500 Lava Slime: 1500 Metamorphic Slime: 5000 Jumping Slime: 750 ¡¡¯ This time I did not bother looking at the basic monster encyclopedia book and instead bought its evolutionary path without any hesitation. ¡°If you can understand me, can you walk around me three times?¡± Looking at me for a moment, the slime slithered around me three times. With its action, it is obvious that it now, at the very least, has basic intellect. Too bad it seems it can¡¯t speak so I was not able to start a conversation. ¡°Wait, if it has some form of intelligence. Maybe it can read?¡± I tried giving the basic monster encyclopedia book as an example. Unexpectedly, the slime did come closer and began to flip the page and seems to be trying to understand what it is saying. ¡°Hahaha! It can read!¡± With glee, I was not able to control my impulse and bought a book about basic elementary magic. When I opened it to look at the contents inside, I began to feel dizzy so I passed it to the slime to see what it would do. Touching it with one of its tentacles, it then left the book it was previously reading and slithered over. I¡¯m not sure if it was having a hard time understanding or not understanding the book at all since it then stopped moving completely and stayed in place even after a few minutes passed, not bothering to flip the page. ¡°.a¡ter¡± Appearing from behind me, Skeleton No.2 tried to attract my attention by moving around and calling my name. Seeing as this was also a chance to test his intelligence, I showed the basic monster encyclopedia book with shining eyes, waiting expectantly at what he will do next. Just like what the book says, it only had the mind of a child since it just floated away as if avoiding it. With a sigh, I scratched my head and thought that it would be best if I evolve my monsters as soon as possible so I will be able to increase their intelligence. With the sound of footsteps, I turned my head to look at the source of sound. Skeleton No.1 walked towards the intelligent glowing earth slime holding a sack and not long later, dumped its contents. Walking back, he then proceeded to increase the room¡¯s size. ¡°He¡¯s fast¡± His movements were noticeably quicker and stronger. If only he had Skeleton No.2¡¯s intelligence then that would be the best. Too bad his physical abilities were the only ones that increased. Opening the dungeon shop, I bought 48 skeletons, pickaxes, and sacks. Ordering them to do the work I had given to Skeleton No.1. Bowing their heads slightly, they obeyed without uttering a single word. ¡°The dungeon should be developing quickly compared to the others¡± I thought about how the other dungeon masters were doing. ¡°I hope they are not hostile¡± After reading multiple novels, following the clich¨¦, this should be impossible. The newly created dungeon cores are probably scouting each other right now. As for what we would get if we defeated another dungeon master, I don¡¯t know. Who knows, maybe there is no benefits from doing so. I doubt telling them this will be of any use though. With a sigh, I looked at the now cramped second floor of the dungeon. The skeletons were busy moving about, not slowing down because of their endless stamina. ¡°I wonder what the goblins on the first floor are doing¡± Just as I was about to open the dungeon menu to look at how they are doing, I remembered about the monster encyclopedia. ¡°Oh right, I should probably look for information about that goblin¡± Flipping the pages all the way to the goblins category, I spotted an image that closely resemble the ogre like goblin. ¡°Special type of goblin?¡± Flipping to the next page, I began to read with a serious look on my face. Chapter 5 Goliath goblin, a powerful monster with the appearance of an ogre. There had been countless reports of theses monster being able to destroy villages and D rank adventurer parties¡¯ singlehandedly. Thanks to their powerful body they are even able to destroy the walls of small towns. Each of these goblins is born with little to no intellect. Being born as an abnormal, their parents are usually ordinary goblins. There have so far no report of them being seen as intelligent and civilized. These subspecies of the goblins¡¯ can¡¯t use magic. They are categorized as a C+ rank monster. ¡°Hoh? He doesn¡¯t seem so special after all¡± Closing the books a relieved smile formed on my lips. Thanks to the information given in the book I now know its weaknesses. ¡°Evolving Skeleton No.2 into a ghostly skeleton is a good idea. In case they somehow found a way to break the door to the second floor, then I¡¯ll use him as a distraction.¡± Opening the dungeon menu, I then looked at its sleeping figure. ¡°Still I think it¡¯s best if I evolve him one more time though¡± Laughing wryly, a warning popped up, telling me that new intruders have entered the dungeon. ¡ Someone who is known as a someone influential among the orcs, that is me Kruulsh, the leader of one of the smaller orc tribes. The moment the other orcs saw my figure, they cower and immediately bowed down on the floor. Today was no exception. All the orcs in the tribe bowed down on the ground in fear of being hacked to death if they didn¡¯t do so. The young ones even occasionally made a quick peek at me. If this was any ordinary day then I would have personally walked forward and killed them for being disrespectful. Luckily for them, I was in a good mood. ¡°Listen up you filthy scoundrels! One of our scouts has found a cave filled with nasty goblins! Isn¡¯t this a good chance for a raid!¡± ¡°¡±¡°Hahahaha!¡±¡±¡± All of them stood up and laughed. The younger ones had shining eyes as they licked their mouths, hoping to be the first one to spill the blood. ¡°Well, what are we waiting for? Onwards!¡± Placing my silvery shining sword in the air, everyone cheered one last time before heading out to make those weak goblins know their place. ¡ ¡°Tribe chief, were here¡± A lanky orc, filed with scars said to me as he pointed at a cave nearby. Stopping the others by raising one of my hands, I took a step forward and looked at what will be mine. ¡®If I take this cave then the others will see how wrong they were for banishing me. Once I gain more men, I will kill all of them and have fun with all their women¡¯ Laughing at my vulgar thoughts, I ordered everyone to charge. ¡°Rawr!¡± ¡°Hyaaa!¡±If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. ¡°Haaaaa!¡± Shouting their battlecry, they slashed at the fear stricken goblins guarding the entrance and entered the cave fearlessly. Seeing as nothing was going wrong, I also ran towards the cave only to be met with a disastrous scene. ¡°What is this!¡± A single ogre slaughtered everyone in one of the deeper rooms, his massive arms squashing them instantly into mush. His might is obviously far stronger than mine. So as a genius, I used my brain and fought as a group to take down this monster. ¡°Grishkah! Use your spells now!¡± Ordering the lone shaman in the village, the old hooded orc then began chanting his magic as he pointed his staff at the raging monster. ¡°Fireball!¡± Hitting the ogre in the face, I made my move by moving forward quickly and leaving the others in the dust. Brandishing my sword from its sheathe, I slashed forward and used my skill. ¡°Slash!¡± Even in the previous tribe I was banished from. I was one of the strongest orcs, so taking down a single of ogre should hard but doable. My slash skill showed its wonders the moment it hit the ogre¡¯s flesh. Although the blade stopped midway, if I had attacked without the use of any skill then I would probably only be able to scratch him. Dodging its attempted punch, I jumped back before jumping forward and pushing the sword even further. ¡°*Roar*¡± ¡°How do you like that!¡± Seeing its pained face brought me great joy. The others now finally caught up to me and slashed with their weapons and as expected, they were only able to bring minor wounds. ¡°*Roar*¡± With a roar, red runes began to appear from its body, making its muscles bulge. ¡°Be careful! It¡¯s using the berserk skill!¡± With a panicked cry, the orc shaman, Grishkah shouted. This was the first time I saw him panicked so it made me smile a bit, still though, this is bad. ¡°Charge!¡± If we can¡¯t beat him alone, then all we can do is to fight together! ¡°Slash!¡± Taking one of the rusted sword from a nearby orc, I charged onwards and slashed at its neck, making blood spill in the air. The others seeing me attack so fearlessly, attacked with even more vigor and caused the ogre to scream in pain. ¡®What!¡± The ogre grabbed one of the nearby orcs and threw him towards Grishkah, killing them both and turning them into paste in the wall. Seeing its fearsome prowess, the others tried to retreat, but the ogre had none of that. He grabbed another orc and threw him towards a nearby group before rampaging and killing everyone in groups by swatting them. ¡°Why you!¡± All of my life¡¯s work was being taken in front of me. So with the anger I¡¯m feeling right now, I charged and punched with all of my might towards its ugly face. ¡°Impossible¡¡± The punch did nothing and only made the ogre focused its attention on me. Looking at me with its glowing red eyes, fear struck my body. Grabbing my fist and my shoulder, it then pulled it was then pulled without any resistance. ¡°Aaaaaaa!¡± Screaming in pain as I looked at my arm on the ogre¡¯s mouth, I was then kicked on the wall. With blood spilling in my mouth I looked at the monster before me. It is without a doubt the strongest existence I¡¯ve seen since I was born. With its powers, who knows? It might be able to even kill that guy. ¡°Hehehe, come at m-¡° I was not even able to complete my sentence when a powerful kick was aimed at my head. ¡ ¡°Wow¡¡± I didn¡¯t know that goliath goblins were this strong. But maybe this guy was an exception. ¡°Hmmm?¡± The goliath goblin after killing the orc did not bother eating its corpse and instead just stood there blankly before all of the runes vanished from its body. Falling on the ground with a thump it then began to breathe heavily while blood gushed out from its wounds. It obviously won¡¯t be long before its life will be taken by the grim reaper. Seeing as I am a kind person I closed the dungeon menu and looked at my monsters. All of them were special to me, I don¡¯t want them to have a future just like the orcs and goblins just now. ¡°I have to test their strength¡± Ordering Skeleton No.1 and Skeleton No.2 to come forward, I looked at the slime that was still reading a book without having a care in the world before sighing. Telling them both to follow me, I then opened the door towards the first floor and walked towards the grisly scene filled with death and despair. Stepping on the flesh and corpses of monsters, I was unexpectedly calm. I didn¡¯t know if this was a side effect of being a dungeon master since at this moment I was apathetic. Whatever the case I am thankful for this. Walking towards the groaning gigantic goblin, I looked at its wound filled body and frowned. Its blood was quickly leaking towards the floor and made the scene more tragic. Looking at me with hatred filled eyes; it tried to stand up but failed miserably. Seeing its unwillingness to die before killing its foes made me praise it deep inside my heart. But I said nothing and only looked at it with heartless eyes. ¡°Skeleton No.1, Skeleton No.2. Show me what you can do¡±
