《The Little Huntsman》


 His Little Errand

    There were 3 orcs riding wolf hunting for a little boy. The little boy were running as fast as he could until he stumbled upon a tree with a small hollow in it. He immediately hide in those small hollow with his little body. Those 3 orcs stops and searching as they lost the tracks of that little boy.


    ¡°Now, where is that little runt?¡± said one of the orc with a huge body and scar face.


    ¡°Don¡¯t tell me we lost him do we?¡± he said angrily as he looked at two orcs that are with him.


    The two orcs were scared and almost pissed themselves. They looking at each other and search the area quickly but to no avail. They lost the little boy. They were scared to report to the huge orcs that they has lost that little boy. They approach the huge orcs with a pale face terrified of getting maul with a mace.


    ¡°B-Boss¡­¡± one the orcs speak up with a shattered voice.


    ¡°WHAT?!!!¡± the huge orcs looked at them with an angry face.


    ¡°Hieee!!!¡± the two orcs were terrified.


    ¡°W-We weren¡¯t able to fin¡­¡± as the orc trying to tell the truth to the huge orcs there were loud sound of horn calling for the orcs.


    ¡°Tch, lucky little runt. Forget about him let¡¯s go back.¡± The huge orc said with an irritated face.


    ¡°Aye Boss.¡± The two orcs said as they feeling relief that they had nearly escaped death.


    Those three orcs ride the wolf far away from the area and gone. As the orcs were gone, the little boy that hiding in the hollow of tree came out of that tree as he gasping for air. He looked left and right for the orcs but there were none. He feel relief. He looked for the tracks of the orcs from which they went. Then, he walk in the opposite direction as he scared to meet them again. After a long walk, he found a river. He then took the opportunity to drink some water to sates his thirst from the previous running from the orcs. He follow the flow of the river until he found a small town.


    The town were busy with a lots of traders and adventurers. There were a lot of weapon being sold in the market. Swords, bows, magic staff and many more. None of them were catching his attention as his eye were glued to a stuffed animals that is on display.


    ¡°Oh, have you come here to buy one of our finest goods young man?¡± said an old man selling the item. The little boy just shaking his head but his eye still glued to the stuffed animals. The old man looking at the little boy with displeased as the little boy wearing a very tattered cloth. He then wonder if this little boy had money or just a thief.


    ¡°Listen here boy, if you come here just to cause trouble I suggest you not to do it. It will end badly for you.¡± said that old man with a slightly angry voice.


    ¡°Well it won¡¯t end badly for him if the stuffed were paid, right?¡± a voice coming from behind that little boy.


    He then look behind him a girl with tall figure, slender and simply beautiful. Red hair with a silky white face and dark eyes. She is wearing a light armour.     ¡°Do you have money little boy?¡± she ask.


    That boy nod his head.


    ¡°Well if you have the money you can pay for the stuff right?¡± she ask.


    That boy shake his head.


    ¡°What do you mean you can¡¯t pay for it?¡± her eyebrows knitted.


    ¡°You don¡¯t have to care for this little boy young lady. He probably lying about having money too. He just want to steal something. I¡¯m sure of it.¡± The old man snorted.


    ¡°You don¡¯t know this boy circumstances do you? Here¡¯s the gold for the stuffed animals.¡± Said the girl with slightly angry voice as she handed over the gold.


    ¡°Th-Thank you.¡± said the old man with a slight regret.


    The girl then handed the stuff animals over to the boy. He just shake his head but the girl being persistent and he has no other choice but to accept it.


    ¡°If you had money, why you don¡¯t want to pay for the stuff?¡± she ask.


    He just look at the girl and pointed his finger to one of the stall in the market. It was a medicine stall.


    ¡°Are you sick?¡± she¡¯s curious.


    That boy shake his head.


    ¡°Then, one of your family member were sick?¡± she guess.


    That boy nod his head.


    ¡°Ok then I¡¯ll pay it for you.¡± she hurriedly walking toward the stall.


    That boy then grabbed the girl clothes and she looked at the boy. That boy shake his head.


    ¡°Oh you don¡¯t want me to pay for it huh?¡± the girl said.


    That boy nod his head. He then showed the stuff animals to the girl and smile.


    ¡°Ah, so you thankful with just the stuff animals huh? I get it. You a cute little boy you know that?¡± she said as she pat his head.


    After buying the medicine that boy turn around and walk with the girl. She were staring at that little boy as he has a small figure with white hair, blue eyes and cute face. She then can¡¯t help but pondered where this little boy came from as this small town pack with adventurers and traders. There were small numbers of villagers that willing to live in this town unless they has some sort of business here.


    ¡°Ya know, there is small chances of a normal villages living in Lipur Town as it full of adventurers and dangerous that they brought with them. So where are you from?¡± she ask.


    That boy smile and pointed towards the mountain behind the town.


    ¡°W-Whoa!!! Really? That¡¯s one of the dangerous mountain that people rarely go. It¡¯s dangerous even for adventurers. You¡¯re not joking are you?¡± her eyebrows knitted as she worries about this little boy.


    He looked at her and nod his head. She were surprised and just shake her head accepting reality.


    ¡°Can I accompany you to your home?¡± she ask as she was curious of this little boy.


    He nodding his head.


    After following the river flow and took a route in the dark forest in the mountain.


    ¡°Ya know, I almost forgot to introduce myself, my name is Rose. What is yours? ¡± she ask.


    He then pointed upward.


    ¡°Huh? Is it Cloud?¡± she ask.


    He shake his head.


    ¡°Is it Sky?¡± she ask.


    He nodding his head.


    ¡°Ah, I see. Your name is Sky huh.¡± she accept.


    After hours of walking. She stumbled across some sort of old village that already destroyed. She just look left and right of the eerily scenery as he followed the little boy. That boy then stop in front of an old shag. He then open the doors and enter the shag. She enters the shag and saw a little girl bedridden and an old woman sitting on a chair. She was looking at the old woman as she was familiar looking. She then surprised as she caught a glimpsed of a familiar medallion.


    ¡°Wait, you can¡¯t be. Aren¡¯t you Marsa? The Mighty Mage?¡± she ask eyes wide open.

 His little secret

    ¡°Oh, so Sky has brought a guest huh?¡± that old woman said while smiling.


    ¡°No wait. You are Marsa right?¡± Rose pressed further.


    ¡°Aren¡¯t you an impatient one. Are you coming in or leaving?¡± said that old woman stood up and helping Sky giving the medicine to the little girl bedridden.


    ¡°S-sorry. I¡¯m just surprise to see such a figure here.¡± Rose embarrassed.


    Rose entered the old shag and close the door. She just stare at the old woman nervously while wondering what had happen to the little girl as her body were covered by some sort of pattern from her stomach to both of her arm. She look at the stuffed animal being put beside the little girl. So, it was for her huh? Rose thinking. After a while, the old lady finish giving the medicine. She look at Rose and just smiling. Rose smile back as she has no idea what is going on.


    ¡°So, Sky has taken a liking to you it seems.¡± said old woman smiling.


    ¡°No, I just helping him with the buying medicine. He kind of reminding me of my little brother.¡± she said blushing.


    After a while, Sky comes with hot water and some snacks. He just look at Rose and smiling.


    ¡°Please help yourself. We just have some hot waters and some snacks.¡± said old woman.


    ¡°No. This is more than enough.¡± Rose said smiling.


    After a while, Rose spoke ¡°So you are Marsa, The Mighty Mage right?¡±.


    ¡°And where you get that idea?¡± said the old woman.


    ¡°No. I just saw the medallion as your necklace. That medallion only for someone who achieve great deeds. Particularly that one you wearing. That is the greatest medallion of all. Medallion Of Pheonix. Only one person who carry it and it¡¯s Marsa.¡± said Rose without hesitating.


    ¡°Hmm¡­ great deeds huh? I¡¯m Marsa in the past but for now I¡¯m nothing but an old woman stripped from her pride.¡± said Marsa with a slightly sad tone.

    ¡°Dead huh? Well I¡¯m suppose being dead to the people is better. Let me ask you a question. What ¡®Great Deed¡¯ that I do in the past that makes you think I¡¯m a great person?¡± Marsa said smiling.


    ¡°T-That¡¯s of course you are the one who leading the forces fighting in The Great War with the devil 10 years ago didn¡¯t you. If Parcel ,a magician, from my party heard that I met you she must be jealous. Hehe.¡± she said blushing.


    Marsa wave her hand to Sky giving signal to go in the room with the little girl. Sky nod and go.


    ¡°Did you think the devil is in the wrong? Do you think they are evil?¡± said Marsa with serious expression.


    ¡°Y-yes of course, they killed a lot of us and we had to fight back in order to survive didn¡¯t we?¡± Rose said with slightly nervous tone.


    ¡°That¡¯s what they would tell you even when you were little but that¡¯s just a bedtime stories. Tell me do you like Sky?¡± Marsa glance at Rose.


    ¡°Y-yes, he is a cute boy and kind of reminding me of my little brother. Hehe.¡± Rose said blushing with little bit confuse. What is Sky has to do with anything?

    It was night and foggy. There was a figure walking looking grim and black. It was Rose. She then stop at a tavern. There was group of 4 people sitting at a round table. Drinking and laughing. They glance at the door when it was open.


    ¡°Oh, isn¡¯t it Rose, come here and have a drink.¡± said one of the man from the group. Rose walk and sit at the table looking grim.


    ¡°What happen? You doesn¡¯t look good. You have been missing all day today. Where could you have been gone for a day?¡± said one of the woman in the group.


    ¡°Well, nothing I just bump into something. Thanks, Parcel.¡± Rose smile look heavy.


    Parcel look at the others. They just shrugged it off without pressuring any further.


    ¡°C¡¯mon milady let¡¯s have a drink.¡± Said one of the man jokingly while placing his hand on Rose shoulder.


    ¡°Could you get your hands off me, Spark?¡± said Rose a little bit angry.


    ¡°Oh no, milady is grim and sad. So, here I am as your humble gentleman to light your day.¡± Spark said while making a kiss expression.


    ¡°Would you mind behave yourself?¡± suddenly Spark feel a chill aura coming off Parcel. He back off from Rose as he scared to be impale by some of Parcel magic. Everybody could not help but chuckled by Sparks act. Spark sit obediently.


    After drinking they going back to each other inn to sleep. Tomorrow they have to set for an adventure. They took a bounty from Adventure¡¯s Guild. Bounty of getting rid some devil.


    At the Inn.


    It was dark and they are about to go to sleep. Rose and Parcel were the only girls in the team so they sleep together.


    ¡°Hey, Parcel. Are we doing the right thing?¡± Rose ask.


    ¡°Hmm¡­ what do you mean the right thing?¡± Parcel puzzled.


    ¡°Ya know, killing devil for example.¡± Rose said.


    ¡°Hmm¡­ isn¡¯t that the right thing to do? Killing them would make the world a better place. Why would you ask? Did something happen today has to do with devil?¡± Parcel calmly ask.


    ¡°N-no I¡¯m just asking. Let¡¯s go to sleep we have to leave early tomorrow. Haha.¡± she laughed awkwardly and turned her side opposite to Parcel. Parcel just knitted her eyebrows suspicion of something but she doesn¡¯t want to pressed any further. Time tells.


    When Parcel far asleep, Rose still pondering about what has been told by Marsa in the old shag.


    At the old shag before.


    ¡°What I¡¯m going to tell you is nothing but the truth. Are you willing to listen?¡± Marsa glancing towards Rose.


    ¡°Why would you be willing to tell me?¡± Rose knitted her eyebrows.


    ¡°Well because Sky is willing to let you in our old shag. That mean he trust you.¡± Marsa said.


    ¡°B-but anybody can enter this place ya know. It was plain as day that it was occupied with people here.¡± Rose puzzled.


    ¡°Not anybody. No. There was a barrier put up by Sky surrounding this area. Only the one that Sky choose can enter this place. You would think we, close to the orc village, didn¡¯t get attacked by them just for nothing? Those old ruins you see earlier is an old village that has been pillaged by the orcs and destroyed. We safe here thanks to Sky.¡± Marsa explained.


    ¡°B-but barrier magic is a high level magic isn¡¯t it? How could a little child put up the barrier and not you?¡± Rose brooding.


    ¡°That¡¯s what I¡¯m going to tell you. If you¡¯re willing to listen that is. So, how it¡¯s going to be?¡± Marsa glance over Rose while smiling.


    Rose is sweating heavily, gulp her throat and nod.

 His Little Past

    10 years ago.


    Soviar Capital.


    A woman running fast in the streets. She has blonde hair and silky white face.


    ¡°Big sister!!! Big sister!!! I¡¯ve heard about it.¡± That woman said to Marsa while gasping for air.


    ¡°Oh Mika, what is it that you heard so urgent?¡± Marsa smiling.


    ¡°Are you going to war? Isn¡¯t it dangerous? What if you didn¡¯t make it?¡± Mika said with sad voice.


    ¡°Oh my lovely little sister. There¡¯s nothing going to happen to me. I¡¯m strong after all.¡± Marsa said while flexing her arm.


    There is a slight tear on Mika¡¯s eyes as she was sad to see her big sister go to war. She can¡¯t do anything as Marsa is the holder of Medallion of Pheonix. Only the strongest magician can wear the medallion. So far only 5 people who has the right to wear the medallion that were bestowed by the king. After a while, came a man running while gasping for air. He was tall and handsome with short black hair.


    ¡°C¡¯mon now Mika, don¡¯t run away so suddenly. You know I can¡¯t keep up with all this running.¡± He said.


    Marsa gaze fall unto the man. The man smile and nod.


    ¡°You can take care of her do you, Raiser?¡± Marsa said with a serious expression.


    ¡°O-of course, I may not look like it I¡¯m pretty strong you know?¡± Raiser a little frightened by Marsa intimidation. Marsa smile and then she look into her sister eyes.


    ¡°I¡¯ll be back in a jiff. Don¡¯t worry about it.¡± Marsa said softly.


    They then hug each other tightly as if it was the last. Mika cried helplessly as she was scared what would happen to her sister in the frontline. Before departure, Raiser give a necklace to Marsa saying that it¡¯s a charm from his village up north. It is said that it can protect its wearer from devil¡¯s harm. Marsa smile and receive it with a smile. Then, she depart.


    In the midst of crowd near post in the north frontline.


    ¡°Make a way!!! Make a Way!!!¡± a horse rider shout as he galloping fast through the crowd of an army.


    As he arrived at the command post, he unmounts the horse and running into the post. There were 4 people in the post seemingly discussing about some matter. Those 4 people are greatest people in nation. Within those 4 people, Marsa included.


    ¡°Urgent letter from the king!!!¡± he shout.


    ¡°Could you keep it down. We hear you just fine even if you said it normally Jose.¡± a man in heavy armour glowering. He has a brown hair and a serious face with a scar across his chin. He has a well build body, a magnitude of a warrior.


    ¡°S-sorry Sir Ludius. It¡¯s an urgent matter from the king.¡± Jose apologized.


    ¡°What is it?¡± another man with heavy armour ask. He has a golden hair and a handsome face.

    Every time a king were rise to throne they receive a blessing from the goddess. Every king had a different blessing. This time, it¡¯s King Harlaus VI, with the blessing of [Sight]. The farther to future he see, the more mana he requires.


    ¡°West? But there¡¯s almost to no threat over the west. We already send a scout team.¡± Said a man in dark robe and a long beard.

    ¡°Quick assembled 10 thousand army to the west, the one in charge will be Marsa and Ludius. Me and Fusa will take care of the north.¡± Percy said.


    Everyone agree with Count Percy and nod.


    After a few days, in the west.


    More than 10 thousand army were relocated to the west. Only Marsa and Ludius were assigned to the west as they didn¡¯t want to neglect their defence on the north. As they were prepare there¡¯s thousand of devil army marching towards them geared and ready.


    ¡°Well, well ,well, look¡¯s like the [Sight] isn¡¯t for show huh?¡± Ludius smirk.


    ¡°Of course, it was called [Sight] for a reason, stupid. Can you explained why I have to work with you again?¡± Marsa respond.


    ¡°Don¡¯t be salty love, it¡¯s a duty we have to abide. Can the past be in the past? ¡± Ludius said smiling.


    ¡°Well, if its not the duty I would¡¯ve burn you to crisp with [Firebolts].¡± Marsa pout.


    ¡°Ugh, that¡¯s scary. Haha. Well, if it¡¯s coming from you, I wouldn¡¯t mind.¡± Ludius smiling.


    Then, a loud horn was heard and the battle begin. Both army collided with each other as the thousand of human and devil died. Ludius slay the devil in the frontline with his big sword. Killing the demon left and right. Marsa and the other mage casting a destruction spell in the back supporting the main army. Both suffer great casualties. The battle last for a week. The human army successfully dominating the battle. The devil¡¯s army were scattered and the rest run into the forest scared. Marsa and Ludius command the army not to chase after them as it holds no meaning and a waste of time. They move towards the command post of devil¡¯s army.  As they arrived at the devil¡¯s army command post, they saw a figure sitting crossed leg as if he was meditating. They puzzled. It¡¯s a devil with alluring presence. He has an elegant face and he was shirtless with a lot of scar on his body. When Marsa and Ludius steps foot in front of him. He opened his eye slowly.


    ¡°Oh, so the human has win huh? Or so you thought.¡± The devil then stood up.


    Marsa and Ludius then took a stance ready to attack. They take a caution if things goes out of control.


    ¡°Today, is the day you died devil. All of the suffering you place on our people end today.¡± Ludius said angrily.


    ¡°Why didn¡¯t you run like the rest of the devil? Is it bravery? Or just foolishness?¡± Marsa intimidate.


    ¡°You human like to dabbled with your so called pride. Calling them honor. Heh. Such pathetic excuse. I stand before you because of pride and nothing else. In the name of Devil Lord Ashgal, you shall perish. ¡± he said proudly.


    Then, red magic circle appear behind the devils. Creating hundreds of fireballs. Those fireballs then fired at Marsa and Ludius. Ludius evade the fireballs with his quick reflex as Marsa create a barrier around her, protecting herself from the fireballs. Those fireballs create a foggy atmosphere. The devil stood still as it became quiet. Then, came a swing of a big sword toward him. He dodge and throw the fireballs in the direction of the sword but nothing happen as the sword disappeared. It¡¯s quiet once again. Then, a fireballs came fast to his face. He was surprised and barely dodge to the left. Then, came a sword from his left. He then block the sword with his hand. He were send flying and scream in pain as he hit a wall. He¡¯s injured badly and barely moved. Marsa use a spell [Disperse] to clearing up the fog. They approach the devil and were surprised as the tough looking adult turned into a little boy.


    ¡°You good? Are you really a general?¡± Ludius puzzled.


    ¡°P-please don¡¯t kill me Sir. I¡¯m sorry.¡± The boy beg.


    ¡°I¡¯m sorry kid but war is still on and you being on the wrong side at the wrong time.¡± Ludius said while about to swing his sword downward.


    ¡°Arrghh!!!¡± The kid were frightened as he cover his face.


    Then Ludius sword were stopped by a force.


    ¡°Oi, oi, what you trying to pull love?¡± Ludius glancing towards Marsa.


    ¡°He just a kid. Are you out of your mind?¡± Marsa said.


    ¡°He¡¯s a devil alright. Don¡¯t get mistaken cause they will grow one day and be the same as other devil.¡± Ludius said.


    Marsa just holding the sword with magic and look at Ludius with a serious expression as she had a tear in her eye.


    ¡°Haah, I got it, I got it, you want the boy right? Just don¡¯t regret it love.¡± Ludius sigh as he put down his sword. He move aside as Marsa walks towards the boy.

 His Little Past Part II

    ¡°P-please don¡¯t kill me.¡± The boy cover his head shivering.


    ¡°Who are you?¡± Marsa ask.


    ¡°The general ran and ordered me to take his place. I¡¯m sorry. Please don¡¯t kill me.¡± The boy shivering.


    ¡°What¡¯s your name?¡± Marsa said with a motherly voice.


    ¡°Oh c¡¯mon now love.¡± Ludius said.


    ¡°Can you be quiet? Or you want to be turned to a mouse?¡± Marsa said.


    ¡°Y-yes, I¡¯m sorry Maam.¡± Ludius said while distancing himself.


    ¡°I don¡¯t have a name.¡± the boy said calmly.


    Then he glance over the charm that Marsa possess. He was shock and ask where did Marsa get the charm. Marsa answer it was from a man that she knew. The boy ask to meet that person as that man can explain who he is. Marsa puzzled as what Raiser have to do with this boy. She pick the boy up and put a scarf over his head as he had a white hair and a blue eyes. It could attract a lot of attention. She plan to bring the boy back. Ludius try to warn her as it could bring trouble if the boy were discovered. Marsa just scold at Ludius and bring the boy back with her. Ludius can only sigh and obey as he can¡¯t do anything when Marsa set her mind to it. Marsa send a messenger to the North that the war on west is over.


    A month at Soviar Capital.


    Mika is doing the laundry. As she were busy hanging the clothes, she saw a cute little boy.


    ¡°Oh my, where you coming from child? Did your mother knew you here?¡± Mika ask.


    Then, Raiser and Marsa appeared from the corner of the house.


    ¡°There you are. Don¡¯t run away now.¡± Marsa said.


    ¡°Oh, when you back Big Sister?¡± Mika surprised, run towards Marsa and hug her.

    Mika just nodding her head and agree. She just look at Raiser puzzled as why Raiser did not tell her if Marsa were home but she just smile as Raiser smile back. Without asking many question Mika invites everyone in.


    At night in Mika House.


    The light was dim and there are four figure sitting around the table. Mika, Raiser, Marsa and one little boy. They were quietly eating the dinner but Mika were staring at the boy the whole time. The atmosphere were a little tense. Raiser seemed to be sweating a lot. Finally Marsa open her mouth and speak across the tense atmosphere.


    ¡°Do you have any question Mika?¡± Marsa ask.


    ¡°Yes I do. Of course I do. A lot actually.¡± Mika said curiously.


    ¡°Well then, go ahead and ask one by one.¡± Marsa smile.


    Mika then proceed to ask Mika who that boy is? What his origin? Why Raiser been keeping quiet about Marsa coming back as she were the one who supposed to know first hand. Marsa just smile and answer calmly.


    ¡°The boys name is Pieter DS Ashgal.¡± Marsa smile.


    Pieter DS Ashgal.


    He was one of the prince in the devil kingdom, Sayar. There were 4 siblings. 2 older brother, him and one little sister. As there were siblings there were rivalries between four of the siblings to rise to the throne. The rivalries were pierce as the eldest son wants the throne the most and willing to do anything in order to get it. There was one time that the eldest son try to poison Pieter but did not succeed. The maid who test the food beforehand die a tragic death as the poison rot the skin quite brutally. He run away from the castle and bring the little sister with him as he do not care about the throne that rip his siblings apart. All he care about is the safety of the little sister. He met with Raiser in the town and ask him for help. Raiser help Pieter as he can. A lot of devils did not recognize him and his little sister but they were happy to be with each other. They live in the tavern that Raiser recommend and


    One day, the news that his elder brother were died during his hunting session were widespread throughout the town. There were rumour that he was killed by a beast but Pieter know the truth. It was his eldest brother doing, Von DS Ashgal. Townspeople were confidently said that the throne will fall to Von as all the other siblings are missing and dying. Few days later they found Sierra at the tavern, all of the devil that reside in the tavern were assassinated and the beast were blamed as cover up. Pieter were depressed as he could no longer protect his little sister. Von give Pieter a chance to redeemed himself. Pieter given a choice to stay and probably watch his little sister die or fight the war to the west. He chose war.
