《The Last Refugee》 Chapter 1. The Story Begins James woke up sweating in bed, from a dream that shook him to his core. He took a moment to look at his surroundings, he realized he was no longer in that horrible dream. A dark room was all he saw, where not even the morning sun had broken in through the drawn blinds, which over-hanged the bed. As he stared at his familiar ceiling for the last night, before shipping out, he realized this may be the last time he will ever see this again. The dream was on the edge of his thoughts and yet the more he tried to reach it, the more it disappeared. He shook off the dream as a fight or flight response caused by his current situation, where he would be going into a war zone and his mind was preparing itself for the upcoming trip. He locked his apartment for most likely the last time and breathed out and walked away. A day earlier, ¡°Thanks again, Ashley for taking care of the little guy.¡± remorsefully James stated as he pets his cat, Samson, good bye. ¡°It¡¯s the least I can do, it¡¯s so amazing you are going to deliver food aid and help with reconstruction in Syria with the new UN green zones,¡± said the cheerful and beautiful next-door neighbor, Ashley as she beamed at James hoping to elicit some response to advance the conversation. She had been trying for the past two years to get a rise out of the mercurial and mysterious next-door neighbor for years. She had a hunch he was a spy or in the witness protection given his hermit like nature. Ashley had a tendency to over exaggerate and develop illusions of grandeur. She once thought the janitor, Vlad, was a Russian KGB agent and trailed him only to find he was just a sad middle aged man. It was a depressing discovery finding the janitor watching romantic comedies while eating ben and jerry¡¯s ice cream as she fell off the trash can outside his apartment on the first floor. Ashley was a hopeless romantic and worked in a typical office cubical and dreamed of adventure beyond the day to day. She was an attractive brunette with a great hour glass figure, big green eyes that caught your attention and an attitude that demanded respect, but she longed for a guy that was more than the mundane. She agreed to take care of the James cat as he told her he would be shipping out with the National Guard as part of the humanitarian relief effort for Syria after the recent peace accord was signed. James hated lying to the neighbor, but he knew that this was the cover that the government had setup and that not only his life was in danger but that of his family. They sent him a photo of his niece born less than a year ago, the first of his four siblings, with the caption of play ball or else. They also sent a link to all his dealings with the dark web and programming he did off the books for various organizations. A week ago, he attempted to trace and go after the source of the blackmail, but found two agents at his door that very hour, one tall man and a beautiful looking woman. They were dressed in your standard Men in Black outfit with black sunglasses and an ear piece which communicated to potentially to some third party. ¡°Mr. Smith, can we come in to discuss recent events, I am agent Green,¡± said the woman. ¡°Sure, Men in Black show up at your door the first thing you should do is invite them in and ask if they would like some coffee or tea,¡± James said with a hint of mirth. James Rule #1 ¨C Always be considerate and kind to others when an opportunity presents. ¡°If you can, I would like a green mountain k cup, my understanding is you have a few of those,¡± said the 6¡¯5¡± man in black next to the shorter more professional looking woman who sighed as though the other man broke character they were going for. They let themselves in and the taller guy moved to the kitchen while the woman gestured to the couch where both James and her sat. The woman took a moment to breathe and compose herself before saying, ¡°we are here to convince you, politely, to assist us in a delicate matter of national security. It was originally assumed through your data profile we have been collecting you would be susceptible to blackmail. We were wrong your attempts to trace us via the messages we sent is proof of that intelligence assessment failure.¡±You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author. James studied the woman for a moment and asked the question that bothered him the most, ¡°What could I possibly do to assist you that you can¡¯t already get from someone else more qualified?¡± ¡°You worked with a professor Duncan at MIT right before you were expelled for cheating?¡± ¡°Yes, we worked closely for two years and I helped him with his research into quantum simulation theory by programming the supercomputers to run some computations to support his theories: ¡°Did you by any chance keep in touch with the professor after you were expelled?¡± ¡°No. Why? What does any of this have to do with you blackmailing me to come meet with you?¡± Crash, the larger agent that made his way to the kitchen had accidently broken a coffee mug while trying to get a green mountain K cup. ¡°Sorry, I will pay you back for that.¡± The woman sighed even more heavily at her partner¡¯s action, ¡°Before we continue, please sign here and here.¡± As she presented a piece of paper to James. There was very little choice as he looked between the paper and the agent. He signed the paper which could have very well have been his soul for all he knows. ¡°Mr. Duncan was wrong, but his actions led to a discovery which allowed a bridge to be formed between here and somewhere else. The only problem is it won¡¯t close and we have sent two team through and heard nothing back, except a message was sent saying and I quote, ¡®James, my boy I found it, I bloody found it, but I need your help. Come as soon as you can. This could change the world. Don¡¯t worry about those drab Gestapo type suits.¡¯ My question is do you know what he is referring to and why did he ask you and not anyone else for assistance?¡± ¡°Miss Green or is it Agent Green, I don¡¯t know what this guy is talking about, he must be out of his mind,¡± James was a mess and his mind was running a hundred times a minute about what the professor was talking about, but he would keep his poker face going as long as possible. ¡°James, we did not want to do this, but here are photos and evidence of your brother involved in a hit and run, along with your sister¡¯s tax evasion, and your father¡¯s pot growing. We have no intention of forwarding this to the authorities, but let¡¯s just say we keep this in our outgoing mailbox until you work with us. We want you and 5 other members of our team to use this bridge that was created in the professor¡¯s lab to make contact and report back. That is all. Once you do that the above will go away for your family and you are all set and we will even get you reinstated to MIT, where you can resubmit your thesis and not have to work as a simple business consultant, ¡° the female agent spun a tale that sounded like a spiders web where things were both deadly and beautiful. It was hard to resister her toxic and alluring voice. ¡°I don¡¯t really have a choice in this, I guess, sure, why not, let¡¯s suppose that the professor is not crazy and that there is a gate that has been established between two universes or realities. Why have you not told me what happened to your second team that went after the professor?¡± ¡°You are a smart man. The second team has built a base right outside the gate, but they have been having some issues with communication setup it appears that time moves slightly different there and that two-way travel is prohibited. One of the guys tried to jump back and well¡. you can see for yourself, ¡° Green gave him her smart phone which showed a video of a man bleeding from his eyes, mouth and ears, like the Ebola virus, ¡°this may be a one way trip. We want you to get your affairs in order and your cover is that you will be going to Syria to help with food aid and relief efforts. We will be shipping out in 7 days as we gather the team and setup the next jump through the gate.¡± Agent green and the other agent left after discussing a few more details as well as the logistics and James was left racking his brain on what he should do. They left him with no choice, but to believe that the professor had made a connection through his quantum simulation efforts and somehow found a key, a person who existed in multiple realities. A drunken hypothetical that James had told the professor, when he was drinking heavily while writing code and considering how to spot an original reality versus a simulated reality. The idea was some people act as anchors to simulations, a main character, and that you should see them in multiple simulations. If the professor found a key, a person who is in our reality and the simulated reality, then that would change everything. The elevator dinged and James walked in and pushed for the lobby, he had a small bugout backpack, a tablet full of eBooks for every occasion containing a terabyte of various books, diagrams, and videos, and lastly he had a photo of his family and his girlfriend who died two years back in a car accident, Samantha was his saving grace and since her death he was just existing, but now he had hope that he may be able to see her again. If the professor had succeeded the possibilities are endless, but so is the risk especially if they lost contact with the first team they sent through the gate. "Ding," the elevator opened, and James took a deep breath and walked forward as the elevator closed behind him. Closing another chapter in his life and starting a new one. Chapter 2. Goodbye Brother, Until Tomorrow Chapter 2. Goodbye Brother, Until Tomorrow ¡°Ding,¡± the elevator door opens to James staring at the ceiling with a pensive look and suddenly facing forward as the sound of the door opening registered in his mind. A man with a shocked expression appears in front of him, ¡°What the fuck¡.¡± ¡°Hey Roger, it¡¯s been a while sorry I have been a little busy getting ready to leave. In fact I am just about to head to the airport¡± ¡°Why? Why on god¡¯s green Earth would you ever want to go to the hell hole of Syria? You are literally the whitest guy I know and I have a feeling they don¡¯t like us too much. You know moms a wreck and crying about you leaving,¡± Roger having gotten really close to James face as if trying to read his mind all the while holding the door open with his left hand preventing it from closing and allowing James any escape. James took a moment to breathe as he bent down to grab his two large duffle bags. Internally he wasn¡¯t sure what to say even after playing this scenario out a thousand times in his head. He never expected his brother to show up at his apartment at the very moment he was about to leave. The world it seems is full of serendipity like events. A coincidence considering as the elevator was opening he had been thinking of his brother and whether to call him before he left. ¡°Brother, a man has got to do what a man has got to do, or so I have been told by movies and mass media,¡± with a smirk and a head nod to the exit they both proceeded to the front of the apartment on a small side street outside Boston. His brother grabbed one of the bags without even asking. Roger was always too nice and putting others before himself. He put on a brave persona, but always wore his heart on his sleeve. ¡°I won¡¯t rehash the previous arguments we and the whole family have had over the past 7 days with you over the pros and mostly cons of not going to be a humanitarian hero. I still have to ask why though and be serious this time,¡± as Roger tried to pry the pained expression his younger brother had he noticed the black SUV pull up a few feet away from them, ¡°this your uber?¡± ¡°Something like that,¡± two people dressed in black came out of the car and gave Roger a methodical up and down assessment, ¡°Roger I may not talk to you or family for a while and I am sorry I won¡¯t be there for the Boston marathon that we have been training for. I know you like your shiny medals. Please tell the family I love them and will do what I can to come back as soon as the work is done.¡± Roger grabbed his younger brother in one last bear hug and with great deliberation, ¡°You know I love my shiny medals and anything that is shiny, so when you get back we will do the race together alright. Make sure to keep the promise we made and wherever you are I am sure Samantha will keep you safe.¡± When the McMasters brothers were just kids they promised to finish a marathon together as part of a bucket list both of them kept in their pockets. The list contained a number of outlandish tasks only a 13 and 15 year old would come up with. They still have checked a few off the list including a trip to Iceland and Antarctica. The boys grew up in the woods of New Hampshire. One bucket list item they managed to cross off their list, only two years ago was to complete the Appalachian Trail a journey from Georgia to Maine. They accomplished that at 19 and 21 years of age. Unlike many others of their generation they stayed in shape and competed in racing competitions. ¡°We need to get going, the others are already there,¡± the amazingly attractive female agent said as the brothers separated from their embrace. At that moment, Roger saw the gleam of a gun on the agents¡¯ suit jacket and the badge on the right and an American Flag lapel on the front shirt. These were not uber drivers and they certainly did not look like aid workers. The thought like a forest fire caught Roger by surprise and realized that there was more going on here that James had been hiding from them. He knew his brother was not a genius, but was smartest guy he knew and that his activities online may not have been so legal, but what did he do to get the authorities involved. If his brother was in trouble he needed to know and to do that he needed to stall this government escort. As he raced through ways to do it he spotted the dumpster that had a whole bunch of construction material in it from apartment next to James that apparently was being renovated. There was his answer and made his way over to it and throw away his still half full cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee., which broke his heart a little. ¡°Who are the other people you are meeting up with, I don¡¯t remember you telling me you were going with other people,¡± Roger in his attempt to deflect made the perfect opportunity to grab the shiny object that laid right next to the dumpster. ¡°Ummm¡.welll¡.¡± ¡°They are other people that are also going as part of the humanitarian effort. We have a few specialists that are great at communications, logistics and construction, and a cultural attach¨¦ as well as a few others with various skills,¡± agent Green seemed to be on her a game in cover ups 101 thought James and made a mental note to learn to lie better. If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. ¡°We will be going now,¡± the other agent loaded the bags and everything James had into the back of the SUV very forcibly and proceeded to get in the drivers seat. This was followed by agent Green and a somber James who waved goodbye to Roger. ¡°Goodbye bro,¡± James said at the same time Roger quickly hurried in front of the car and said, ¡°Sorry looks like my shoe came untied one moment,¡± and he proceeded to place the shiny nail right where the front tire was of the drivers side. Once in place he got up and said his good bye with a wave. Not even going a block and the SUV was pulling to the side of the road. The tire was inspected and looked back at where Roger was. At that moment, Roger went pale, until he looked behind himself and realized that the agent was looking at the construction debris. Once he realized this he ran to the SUV and asked them if they needed help. ¡°Why don¡¯t you guys get some coffee and if possible get me a decaf black coffee if you can, it looks like we have a flat tire no doubt from a stray nail or something from that apartment over there. It may take a few minutes for ¡°macho man¡± over here to change it,¡± Agent Green pointing to the coffee shop not a block away from where they pulled over. James not wasting a moment got our and walked over to Roger and went to the coffee shop. Roger was turning red by the time they made it into the store, ¡°What the fuck¡.., what did you do to get involved with the fuzz out there and what are you wrapped up in?¡± As James was about to start talking a bear of a man ran into him and spilled coffee all over him. At this moment, everything was boiling to the surface and James was going to explode at this unsuspecting person who accidently ran into him. It all dissipated as soon as he realized it was Vlad the janitor and landlord of the apartment he stayed at. ¡°Mr. James so sorry, I have no idea what happened. I was lost in my thoughts. Although I am very upset that you are leaving, now who is going to fix my computer and give me rent for that apartment?¡± Vlad was a good guy a little too stereotypical for James as he was indeed a Russian with a drinking problem whom loved his vodka a little too much, but was friendly as can be. He also a bit paranoid only a few weeks ago he was telling James how he thought someone was following him and heard trash cans crashing outside his apartment when he was supposedly watching, ¡®American football.¡¯ ¡°It¡¯s alright Vlad, sorry to be leaving you so abruptly, but it¡¯s just something I thought I needed to do. I have been watching what was going on in Syria and thought it was time to go help out with humanitarian aid.¡± ¡°You a good man, Jimmy, if I may call you Jimmy, we friends now that you no longer tenant. I really hope you stay safe over there and stop by. Let me buy you a coffee before you go.¡± ¡°No thanks, but greatly appreciated, take care and thanks for fixing all that stuff around my place,¡± truthfully James did most of it, but the sentiment was there. After that they exchanged good byes and Vlad was on his way, until he stopped dead in his tracks on noticing the black SUV down the street. He slowly pulled up his coat and made his way opposite the black SUV, while looking over his shoulder occasionally. ¡°So¡..What the fuck?¡± Roger back to the original question before being interrupted by Vlad. ¡°What to tell you other than I am working on something and the cover story is that I am going to Syria, no sense lying to you as you will be able to read me pretty easily, that is the reason I have been avoiding you and the family so much this past week at least in person.¡± James had been trying to limit the chances of him messing up his story. He was a terrible liar and the family would know if something was up. ¡°Can you at least tell me is it safe and are you ok and such?¡± ¡°Truthfully, I do not know, but I might be gone for a while brother, that is why I need you to take care of things with the family for me. Can you do that?¡± Roger may be the older brother, but sometimes he needed to be pushed to action. ¡°Yeah, don¡¯t worry I will let the folks. So you¡¯re not in trouble? Why do they want you anyways?¡± ¡°They want me because the professor at MIT I use to work with has gone MIA and he apparently came across something big that used some of the stuff I designed and setup for him, no big deal, but could change the world forever.¡± Brushing his shoulders off James attempted to act cool, but Roger just laughed. So the wacky hair brained professor actually did something. ¡®Professor drinks a lot¡¯ was a well-known figure in the local pubs around Boston. He would drink and spot nonsense of multiple realities and quantum entanglement as well as his experiments to show a connection between them could be made. His nickname was ¡®professor drinks a lot¡¯ on account of his excessive drinking and tendency to ramble on about esoteric sciences. The two brothers talked some more, but ultimately James kept diverting the conversation on what it was he would be doing. His brother would never believe him and until James saw the machine work he wouldn¡¯t believe it either. Agent Green, came in through the door to coffee shop and looked around the table the two McMaster brothers were sitting at and frowned, ¡°don¡¯t suppose you remembered my drink there Jimmy, anyway, we are rolling out say good bye to your brother, the tires been fixed, damn construction crew must not have cleaned up the nails from the construction project next door to your place as we thought.¡± After loading up and saying their final farewells, and one last bear hug, the SUV drove off to the facility housing the bridge where they would meet up with the team going across to the other side. Meanwhile, in a coffee shop a certain brother was laughing manically, ¡°MUAHAHAHAHA,¡± as he looked down at his smart phone to see the tracking chip he place on his brother he kept on his key chain was working. He slipped it on his coat collar while giving a hug goodbye. If this was a spy novel he would be killing it, he thought in his head. When he looked around the coffee shop everyone gave him a questioning look as though he was a crazed homeless man. The manager kindly asked him to leave. ¡°Beep¡¡.beep¡¡beep...beep¡beep.beep.beep¡..beep¡beep,¡± the smartphone made noise as it was displaying a red dot and latched onto the handle bars of a white old looking vespa that has seen its best days behind it. ¡°Ok, so this way my fine stead, yah¡± as Roger made his way to find where they were taking his brother, looking and feeling a little like a modern day Don Quixote, only he didn¡¯t have a sidekick. Chapter 3. Samantha and the Accident Chapter 3. Samantha and the Accident James looked out the window of the SUV and saw it was a balmy early spring. The dirt, road salt, and all the hidden grime that the snow concealed in Boston was being revealed through a slow drizzle of rain outside. It was just like that day two years ago where he had to say goodbye to Samantha. The placid expression on his face betrayed his inner thoughts on the ¡®what if¡¯ he never got into that argument with her and what if they never got in that fateful car that night. If they had stayed in and gotten some Chinese from the local shop around the corner. A regular Chinese and chill as they use to call it. A small smirk played out on James face until he realized that wasn¡¯t what happened that night. Two years ago¡.in the small studio apartment. ¡°Samantha, I am sorry I thought it was a smart move to make a little bit of money before our little guy comes into the world.¡± ¡°You fucking idiot, James, you got kicked out of school because of it. What were you thinking? Cheating and selling papers to other snot nosed kids. You knew they would throw you under the bus when things hit the fan. And what makes you think you¡¯re having a boy? .....you didn¡¯t¡..the nurse told you?¡± ¡°This is not fair, I can only deal with one mine field at a time. The little shit Ricky sold me out and because his dad was a big donor they are brushing it under the rug. I messed up and I am sorry. I can get a job programming or even tech support I am sure. Everyone needs a nerd I imagine. I mean I am sure there are plenty of jobs for quantum programming mathematicians, ¡° James emphasized in air quotes, ¡°Also let me just say that the nurse was a loud talker from Southside of Boston and I heard her when I was getting you water. Besides aren¡¯t you glad I told you the truth.¡± ¡°James, you are the shittiest liar in the world you have a whole bunch of tells, why do you think you never win at poker. I love you babe, but you¡¯re a fucking idiot.¡± The anger turned to tears as Samantha started to bawl and when James went to comfort her she threw his arms away and scowled at him. She grabbed the keys off their kitchen counter and rushed out the door in a disheveled state. She made her way down the hall to the elevator as she waited for it to open, the door to their apartment opened and they looked at each other. The hurt in their eyes said it all and even though James was a stoic individual and mostly unemotional that last look she gave cut him deep. He walked the other way not looking back and down the stair to the street opposite of Samantha. ¡°Ding,¡± the elevator door opened and Samantha walked in backwards as if not believing he wouldn¡¯t go after her. She wanted him to come chasing after her and be the valiant hero that saves the day with wit and charm, but that look was something she had never seen before it was true hurt and she did that to James. The elevator closed and with it the last time she would see him. She couldn¡¯t go back, so she called her mother to stay with her and drove out on a balmy Boston night during a new moon. ¡°I¡¯m the idiot¡I am not the one who forgot to take her pill and I am not the one who said, ¡®so what if we can¡¯t afford the baby now, we¡¯ll make it work somehow.¡¯¡± James was talking out loud and face red with anger and as much as he was spouting nonsense, he knew he loved her and that was the only reason he tried to make money by cheating. They needed the money and the rich trust fund kids were more than happy to have the TA James write their papers and forge a few grades for them. It wasn¡¯t supposed to be like this, he had ordered Chinese and wanted to just lay with Samantha on their obnoxious purple colored couch that she insisted they must have. It was a rough two days for James and he needed her. He made it to the restaurant and pulled up to the bar they had there. The staff knew the two of them very well. ¡°Mr. James, what¡¯s with the long face, I have your order over at the counter, is Samantha joining you?¡± ¡°Not today, thanks, I will take it here and can you get me a tall glass of Jameson with one of those fancy balls of ice you have?¡± If James was going to wallow at least he would do it with food and drink. After a about half a dozen drinks the bar tender grew concerned over what James had said and worried about him. They eventually got him into an UBER instead of doing the 10 min walk back to his apartment.Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site. On the couch lay a passed out James that was mumbling about the knocking only to open his eyes and realize it was not in his head. He stumbled up and ran to the door opening it up and saying, ¡°Samantha, I am so ¡.., officer what are you doing here did I do something wrong?¡± James was at a loss for why they would be showing up at his door. ¡°Mr. McMaster, you were listed as the emergency contact for a Samantha, are you James McMaster?¡± ¡°Yeah that¡¯s me, why¡what¡where is Samantha?¡± ¡°She was involved in a fatal car accident and I am afraid she passed away a little over 4 hours ago along with the unborn child. I am sorry to inform you of this, but we tried to contact you on your phone, but there was no response,¡± the officer looked James up and down and even without trying cast judgement on this drunk of a man, especially when he saw his disheveled state. James couldn¡¯t breathe, he tried, but the lungs were not working, it was as though he¡¯d forgotten how to do this mundane thing. He collapsed on the ground. The officers attempted to assist him up and moved him to the lazy-b the very one they had fought tooth and nail over. What a pointless argument he thought and then it hit him like a wrecking ball he was responsible for her death. Had he never argued and had he never changed grades and wrote a few papers she would still be alive. ¡°I did this, I am responsible for her death, we were arguing and she stormed out, but I¡¡I never went after her,¡± he was spinning out of control and the rest was a blur. ¡°Sir, sir, can we call someone for you?¡± Present day¡ The SUV hit a pot hole and jerked James out of his memory. He looked around and realized they were not heading to the airport and actually to old industrial road where there were plenty of run down warehouses, but some had been recently bought up for different commercial ventures. The most notable was Amazon and Wall-Mart distribution facilities that were mostly all automated these days. ¡°I thought we lost you there, you worried about the trip? You really shouldn¡¯t, the best of the best, are working on this project. It is not every day you get to be a pioneer and experience a new frontier for the human race. Now we have a good team, but you along with the professor are the only ones who may be able to fix our little two way communication problem. ¡° James nodded along to Agent Green as she detailed out the situation. She looked at him and nodded to him, ¡°you need to be careful, we have a cover story for you if anything should happen, but try not to die. As I was saying, we tried to setup a bridge on the other side to stabilize it, but something seems to be causing excess energy in the tunnel. It needs to be cancelled or isolated so that the bride can be stabilized. Don¡¯t worry you have an energy specialist that will be going with you. His name is Henrick Livenstein, a Swiss wiz at particle physics and worked to stabilize CERN energy containment mechanism for micro particles of anti-matter. The others you will get to know, but what you will be task with is the programming for the quantum computer on the other side that the second team brought with them. It is identical to the one you helped program for the professor. I frankly looked at your record and would rather not have a drunk, cyber-criminal on this mission, but we don¡¯t have a choice. I understand your recent loss two years ago was a catalyst and I am sorry for your loss, but we need you to work for the good guys now.¡± ¡°Good and evil are all a matter of perspective and completely subjective, thanks for well-meaning concern, but I don¡¯t think you understand what it is we could be walking into. If the professor truly did get it working then I may very well be able to see her on the other side,¡± without doubt or hint of sadness he looked the agent in the eye. Agent Green saw his resolve and thought she saw a fanatical glint in his eye, ¡°we have some data from the other side it is not like our time or place. It is different and the natives we have so far examined show a chitin like skin. One was able to jump across to our side without experiencing any of the biological affects our unfortunate, ¡®pioneer,¡¯ from the first team experienced.¡± ¡°Blood coming out of the eyes, does not sound like a background energy problem then, but what do I know I only graded and plagurized a few papers on quantum foam effect on biological organisms, ¡° he sighed one of the things he hated was coming off as a jackass, but it was hard to get your point across otherwise. ¡°Henrick, believed otherwise, you will meet him soon and you two can hash it out, but for your knowledge in this expedition you are on the bottom of the totem pole, so remember that when your being a smartass,¡± with a wink and a finger pointed ahead toward a run-down warehouse. ¡°Welcome to the fun factory, where you will be staying until you get the bridge working. Once that is done we will send you on your way and you will have a pardon and full re-instatement to MIT to finish your doctorate. Let¡¯s show you around and introduce you to the team,¡± she opened the door and jumped out even before the SUV came to a complete stop. As he got out, red lights started going off in the direction of the warehouse and alarms were sounding off. James looked to the agent and saw she was concerned as well. This wasn¡¯t ominous or concerning at all. I mean red alarms flashing and a siren, what is the worst that could be happening.
