Saito closed the door behind him and headed towards the bathroom sink, he lives in a small flat consisting of a kitchen, living room, a bedroom and a bathroom. the flat was quite new and looked surprisingly good for its price. there was a mirror near the bathroom sink which Saito was staring at. he slowly placed his finger onto his eye and removed a small round circular object. "ugh I hate wearing contact lenses, they are so irritating" The circular objects which Saito had now removed were brown contact lenses, he had his eye''s closed and slowly opened them it revealed around dark Pink pupil. Sato stared at the mirror as he examined his eyes. "i guess they won''t magically disappear huh?, this is all because of that stupid game I''m stuck like this for the rest of my life now at least it doesn''t look bad" (Saito) Saito then took a bath to relax his muscles, he dried himself and put on some clothes his hair had which was Black a few minutes ago now had magically changed colour and turned pure white. Saito ran his hand through his hair as he looked at his reflection. "I guess the hair Dye wasn''t strong enough, itcame off after one wash" (Saito) Saito closed his left Eye and looked at his reflection, he suddenly remembered what Mika had said about the one-eyed Wanderer and blushed. "It''s not like I like her or anything.." (Saito) Saito looked towards his bed, A virtual reality helmet laid on top of his bed staring right back at saito. "It''s been more than a month right.." (Saito) Saito gazed at the Vision helmet remembering what had happened. "i wonder what''s going on inside the game" (Saito) He walked towards his bed and picked up the helmet, he slowly laid on his bed and placed the helmet onto his head whilst making sure he was in a comfortable position. "Last time I was here the whole world was filled with a frightening silence, I wonder if people know what the One-Eyed Wanderer looks like" Saito got up onto his feet and walked towards the village in a distance. he a gave a faint smile and thought to himself. "Excuse me where''s my mom and dad" (Saito) Saito had just arrived at the hospital upon hearing about his parents, they had gone for a night out but had not returned which caused saito to be worried. The bodies of two adults had been found the night Saito''s parents had left for their night out, after confirming the identity of the two bodies the police contacted saito who then rushed to the hospital. "Hold on a minute please" (Receptionist) She had eyes filled with pity as she picked up the phone to contact one of the police officers who were involved in the case. She did not expect Saito Ushiba to be so young. "Mr Saito is here" (Receptionist) "Send him over" (Officer) The receptionist then put down the phone and looked at saito with a frown, she got up from her chair and left the counter. "Come with me" (Receptionist) Saito obediently followed without uttering a single word. "Th-They are inside the room.." (Receptionist) She looked down as if she was guilty for what had happened. she didn''t want a child as young as saito to experience their parents deaths, no 7 year old should experience something like this. "i''m sorry" (Receptionist) she whispered as she walked back to the front desk, she was not ready to see saito''s reaction. "Mum, Dad?" Suddenly a blurring image of a boy 1 year older than saito appeared besides him, he stared at saito who was crying and whispered. "Mom and dad are in a better place saito" (Blurring Image) They Blurring image had tear drops flowing down his cheeks. *Gasp* Saito wakes up as he tries to catch his breath, he is currently alone in his room. (Saito) He walked towards him room and jumped onto his bed, while he looked up at the ceiling he thought to himself. "i wonder what''s inside" (Saito) as he unwrapped the present he could see a box with huge letters spelling ''Vision'' "no way" (Saito) Saito unboxed the present and there was a helmet inside with many other parts, it was a virtual reality headset. "hehe, my friend works in Vision he gave me a pre released version of the headset, it should be publicly available tomorrow" (Ishawa) He looked at saito with a warm smile "i don''t know what to say.. thank you uncle" (Saito) he was surprised that he had received a virtual reality headset which has not been publicly released yet, this way he would be the first person to log into the game. "No problem, i am going away for a few weeks so i bought you this to keep you busy while i''m gone." (Ishawa) Saito looked up as he tilted his head. "Going away" (Saito) "yeah dont worry ill be back in no time, i just have some work to do" (Ishawa) after ishawa and saito finished their conversation, ishawa left as he had work to do and saito tried to set up the headset in order to test it out. "That should do" (Saito) he looked at the at the helmet which was looked quite different from the ones that will be sold publicly. it was Pure white with black lines running across the front to the back. saito examined it closely and found some writing at the back of the helmet. " ''Suitable for testing servers'', that''s weird does that mean i can get on the game before the servers become public?" (Saito) He layed down on top of his bed and slowly placed the helmet onto his head. (Saito) Suddenly a blinding light appeared as his consciousness drifted into the game, saito slowly opened his eyes to find nothing but darkness.

Saito opened his eyes to find himself in a room full of darkness, there was a beam of light hitting the corner of the room which revealed piles of bones and ash. "i''m pretty sure this isn''t Zeriria" (Saito) He got up on his feet as he was intrigued by the source of the light. he stretched his arms and clicked his fingers getting himself ready for whatever is waiting out there. "im guessing this is ''Layer of Lucifer'' well atleast thats what vision mentioned" (Saito) He looked around as he focused his eyes, there was piles and piles of bones laid on the floor there was no trace of flesh all that was left was ashes. Saito walked towards one of the skeleton which was lying opposite to the source of light, it was holding a sword on his right arm and a dagger on the left. "They look pretty realistic, this is kinda creepy" (Saito) Saito reached out towards the skeletal body and retrieved the dagger and sword, right now he needed equipment incase he faced any monsters. "ill be borrowing these.." (Saito) Saito slowly walked towards the source of light with the dagger on his left hand and the sword on his right, there was a hole large enough for him to fit through, on the distance laid an enormous castle worthy of a true king, it was far larger than the ones Saito had seen in real life. before the castle stood tall tree''s covering the grassland it was quite strange the tree''s looked as if they were dyed red with blood there was a scent of death in the air and no sound could be heard. "i was expecting something more sinister" (Saito) He climbed out of the hole to get a better view of the landscape. "Looks like i was in a cave" (Saito) Saito noticed something in the distance he concentrated his vision onto the target, there were small buildings scattered around a small portion of the land. -------- Time in the game flows 3 faster so it actually took him 20 min "is that a village, i wonder if it has Npc''s" (Saito) Saito decided to head down from the mountain which he had spawned in. it took him quite a while but an hour later he managed to reach the bottom. "Well that was time consuming" (Saito) Saito turned his gaze towards the village which he had pinpointed from above. "it was somewhere around there right?" (Saito) He starting walking towards the village without a goal in mind, as he arrived at the gates of the village he looked around, there was no sound being emitted from the buildings, the village was deserted it had become a ghost town. "heh it seems i''m alone" (Saito) He looked at the tattered buildings which surrounded him, there was no sign of life at all he could only hear his own breath. *Creak* Saito instantly turned his gaze towards the sound, it came from the building behind him. "Hello?" (Saito) He slowly walked towards the building while watching his steps. "is anyone here?, i''m lost" (Saito) He approached the building whilst keeping his guard up. "Was it just my imagination.." (Saito) He entered the building whilst slowly looking around for any sign of life, everything within the building was shattered and broken into pieces there was nothing left in tact. *Bang* "Oh Crap!" (Saito) a demonic humanoid cladded in black with horns growing out of its forehead jumped towards Saito. Saito got blasted back as he hit the wall. "ugh why do i feel pain?" (Saito) Saito looked up as he tried to track the Demon, it was gone the demon had disappeared from his vision. Saito got on his feet as he regained his balance. "Hehe, you scared me there" He looked at the sword which he was holding, it had shattered into pieces as it was used to shield Saito''s body. "Tch, that would have killed me" (Saito) Saito gazed around the room trying to track the demon. *Creak* Saito let out a smirk as he turned around and put all his power into the dagger which he was holding in his hand. the demon jumped back as it lost its balance. "Im not letting you escape!" (Saito) Saito jumped towards the demon who was now off the ground, he waved his left hand towards the demon trying to land a hit on it, however the demon used the wall behind him to jump out of the way. "Try evading this!" (Saito) Saito changed the direction he was looking at whilst keeping track of the demon, he placed all his strength onto his left hand and released the dagger as it shot out of his hand. "i guess i''ll keep these" (Saito) He looked back at where the demon was kneeling there was only piles of ash left, he picked up his dagger and left the room. "There should be more of them around, i''ll farm for an hour and then leave" (Saito) Saito wandered around the village and killed any demon that came into his sight, the demons died as soon as they came into contact with the dagger. he spent 3-4 hours [Real time] to clear the surrounding demons "Lucky me, it seems all the mobs are glitchy as they die from one blow" (Saito) He crouched down to pick up the drops from the ashes. "i''ve cleared the whole village, there aren''t any more demons in sight." (Saito) He got back on his feet as he finished placing the drops into his inventory. "Although there were some troublesome ones, i managed to kill most of them with sneak attacks." (Saito) He said with a confident expression. (Saito) The distance between the village and the castle seemed to be vast, it would probably take him quite a while to get there so he decided to save it for another time. You have 3 weeks in game and 1 week in reality to complete your journey.] (Vision) Saito looked up at the sky as he imagined what would happen to him after the planned release. Meanwhile outside of Grand Quest Online. "Hello ladies and gentlemen" (Shojiro Kurasaki) Shojiro Kurasaki the Ceo of Vision. "Sadly i am here to Announce the postponed release date for Grand Quest Online" (Shojiro) Shojiro Kurasaki was in his mid 30''s, he was wearing a matt black suit which blended in with his black hair and dark brown eyes. "Due to some glitches we will not be releasing Grand Quest Online tomorrow, as it is not currently in a playable state, we are extremely sorry for letting you down but the game will be released this time next week" (Shojiro) He left the scene as the announcement ended, people who were looking forward to the game had frowns in their faces as they felt disappointed. Shojiro who sitting behind his desk stared at a tablet with the picture of a young boy around the age of 16 with dark pink eyes, Shojiro frowned as he let out a sigh. "Kid, who ever you are i hope your alright" (Shojiro) He stared at the tablet without wavering. The doors to Shojiro''s office slowly opened, a tall man with blonde hair and blue eyes walked in. "Miyoko, did you find anything about him?" (Shojiro) Shojiro looked up at Miyoko who was standing in front of him. "We do not know his identity yet, however i think this is linked to the missing Tester headset. (Miyoko) a few days ago the tester headset had been dispatched with the normal headset''s to the branches which will sell them on release. "can we somehow get him out" (Shojiro) he asked as he looked back at the tablet. "i''m afraid not, if he was lucky enough to get into the game without any extreme damages to the body he will be able to logout of the game safely, however that isn''t guaranteed." (Miyoko) Miyoko turned around in order to leave the room. "Miyoko, finding that boy is crucial to us however if he is not found by next week release the game as planned." (Shojiro) he looked at Miyoko with a unsatisfied face "Yes sir" (Miyoko) Miyoko left the office and the room slowly fell into silence. "I need to find this boy before the media gets a hold of this, the company''s future is depending on it" (Shojiro)

After hearing what he had gotten himself into Saito decided to stay at the abandoned village for the night, he had not yet recovered from the shock, he didn''t to expect a game to have this much impact on his life to begin with. After finding out that his life could be taken away from him if he did not complete this dungeon in time made him believe that it was a dream and he would wake up any time now, Saito laid on the rock hard floor as he slowly fell asleep. Saito slowly opened his eyes to the sunlight as the warmth hit his face, he let out a sigh as he got up on his feet he picked up the dagger which was resting on the ground and placed it on his left hand. "Vision guide me to the castle" (Saito) [well ofcourse] (Vision) Saito left the house that he used as shelter for the night. (Saito) He replied as he jumped on top of a building, he decided to look around for demons before heading towards Lucifer as it was the most logical thing to do. he needed strength to fight Lucifer and the demons around the village were a perfect source of xp, however most of the demons around the village had already been turned into ashes by his hands. He wanted to reach Lucifer''s castle as soon as possible which was understandable as his life was on the line. Along the way they had faced a few demons which was easy to take care of since Saito could attack them from a distance, he tried to avoid any close combat but there were times which forced Saito to engage a close combat battle. The reason why Saito tried to avoid close range battle''s is because it was time consuming it was better to surprise the enemy and take them down swiftly to avoid wasting much time. Once Saito approached the forest he jumped on top of a branch, he came into the conclusion that traveling within the forest was dangerous and being attacked by surprise was going to be very common. In order to avoid surprise attacks he decided to travel from branch to branch, this also allowed him to pinpoint demons within the forest who were on ground level and launch a sneak attack. "There''s three of them underneath us, should we just avoid them and move on i don''t want to waste too much time? " (Saito) Saito was beginning to lose his patience he wanted to get to Lucifer''s castle as soon as possible, even if they did have some time left. Saito also did not know what would happen to him once he died, so it was natural for him to avoid useless fighting. His voice sent shivers down Saito''s body it was already hard for him to move under his presence but his voice felt like it was piercing through his soul. "I am sorry to disturb you but i did not choose to be here." (Saito) He had managed to calm his body down and gain his composure, he looked at Lucifer who was seated in his throne with his sinister black wings laid on his back, Lucifer was wearing a thin black robe which suited his matt black hair and black pupils. "You dare stand in front of me in my territory." (Lucifer) Lucifer stood from his throne as he flapped his wings and landed a few meters away from Saito. "I don''t have time for your chit chat, it''s either my life or yours so let''s get this started." (Saito) He dashed towards Lucifer with his dagger. "How arrogant" (Lucifer) Lucifer let out darts of feathers which zoomed towards Saito, however they were ineffective as Saito managed to avoid all of them. Saito who was now right next to Lucifer flung his hand as he tried to pierce Lucifer''s chest with the dagger. "What!" (Saito) Saito jumped back as he tried to recover from the shock, Lucifer''s left wing had clashed with the dagger and stopped it from reaching his body whilst his right wing left a cut on Saito''s left eye. "Thats troublesome, he can use his wings as a form of protection" (Saito) A cold sweat ran down Saito cheek, he knew that Lucifer would be hard to defeat however he was not expecting his wings to be indestructible. He had to change his plans in order to adapt to the new situation. Saito was starting to run out of stamina and he couldn''t afford to lose the dagger which looked worn out, it could shatter in any moment. "i need to get him in the next hit" (Saito) He wiped the sweat off his face as he looked glared as Lucifer who seemed to be enjoying himself. Lucifer swiftly positioned his body allowing him to avoid the dagger by an inch. "That was close, however it ends here human" (Lucifer) He slowly walked towards Saito who was kneeling, Lucifer raised his wings as he got ready to pierce them through Saito''s body. "Say your prayers human" (Lucifer) "ill do that in my time of death" (Saito) Lucifer launched his wings towards Saito in order to cut him into pieces. *Swoosh* Lucifer was startled a dagger had flown passed him which caused his wings to stop for a second. Lucifer''s wings collided with the ground as it sent cracks around the castle, dust had covered Lucifer''s Vision so he could not tell if the hit had landed or not. As the dust slowly settled a figure appeared behind Lucifer. "i let my guard down.." (Lucifer) Saito was positioned behind Lucifer with a dagger in his left hand which had pierced Lucifer''s back. "i did not expect you to bring along a partner, how stupid of me." (Lucifer) Vision could be seen in a distance, she had a wry smile on her face as she looked at Saito. "Uhh, i''m sorry i missed" (Vision) She scratched her head as she started walking towards Saito. "You idiot that almost hit me!" (Saito) Lucifer let out a warm Laugh as he withered away. A black feather the size of Saito''s palm slowly descended in front of him. "Whats this?" (Saito) he caught the feather and examined it with a confused expression. "An item!" (Vision) "well let''s place this in my inventory for now, i want to leave this place as soon as possible" (Saito) he placed the black feather in his inventory and looked around for a way out. "So how do we exit this dungeon?" (Saito) "Back here!" (Vision) The gate that they had come through had disappeared, a blinding white light had appeared in its place. Saito and Vision walked towards it. "it must be the exit" (Saito) Saito reached out towards the blinding light and touched it with the tip of his finger, suddenly his body was pulled in as the brightness increased it caused Saito to shut his eyes. A few seconds later Saito raised his eyelids to find himself standing near a tree, he examined his surroundings and managed to find a village in the distance. he was teleported to a grassland as the area was filled with light green colour much different to Lucifer''s Realm. "Vision?" (Saito) [Yes i''m here] (Vision) "Why did you leave your Physical form." (Saito) he asked with a confused tone, Vision had come along with him however she left her Physical form so Saito could not locate her. [The game is going to be released in a few minutes so you are going to leave very soon, its also convenient.] (Vision) Saito let out a sigh. "Thank you for helping me, i don''t think i would have survived without you." (Saito) [3 minutes until release] (Vision) "oi stop ignoring me" (Saito) Saito raised his head and looked at the sky, he couldn''t wait to get out of the game since he had been trapped here for weeks. after 3 minutes of silence vision spoke up. His skin had gotten a little darker as if he had been tanned however it did not look much different from his usual skin colour. "MY BEAUTIFUL HAIR!" Chapter 4 - A Name After recovering from the shock Saito left the bathroom and went to his kitchen, he hadn''t eaten for a week but strangely enough, there was no sign of hunger. He had a cup of hot chocolate with him which he had missed out on since he had been trapped within the game, he took a sip and placed the cup onto a table placed next to his bed. "Hmm, since my appearance has changed I wonder if my Physical abilities were affected" (Saito) "What if I''m able to..." (Saito) "Inventory" (Saito) A blue screen appeared before Saito, it contained all the items which he had gained by completing the dungeon. Saito gazed at the inventory screen in disbelief, he reached towards a demon horn which was placed in his inventory. Saito''s hand slowly entered the blue screen as it rippled he pulled out the object that he had placed his hand on, the demon horn was placed in his right hand it had a physical form and was tangible. "This is a dream right.." (Saito) Saito could not believe what he had just done, he managed to summon his inventory in reality outside of the game. Judging from what he had done Saito assumed that he had transformed into his game character. This meant that he was able to execute things out of the norm, such as magic if his character had unlocked it. "This is amazing" (Saito) He removed placed the horn back into his inventory and got rid of the inventory screen, he laid on his bed as he stared at the ceiling. "How do I hide my hair and eye colour?" (Saito) He let out a soft sigh and slowly shut his eyes, he was extremely tired after all he had been through. He lost his consciousness as entered a deep sleep. *Buzz* *Buzz* Saito got up from his bed and turned off the alarm, he had placed the alarm to wake him up at exactly 5 Am so that he could buy some hair dye and contact lenses before school. He got ready and left his flat after finishing his breakfast, after leaving he decided to head towards a body store near his house. all I need is a black hair dye and brown contact lenses He thought to himself as he entered the store, he looked around for a few minutes and managed to find what he needed. "yes, sorry about that I zoned out for a second" she took the hair dye and contact lenses which Saito had placed on the counter, She continued to stare at Saito''s face as he scanned the items. Saito attended a Seren High it was a private school in his neighbourhood which required payments, of course, Saito could not afford these payments so Ishawa paid the fees instead. "I never thought I would ever miss this building" (Saito) He smiled and carried on walking towards the gates. "Saito!" (Mika) Mika shouted from a distance to catch Satio''s attention, she had been extremely worried about Saito since he stopped attending school last week. Rikyo who was behind Mika caught up with and approached Saito, Rikyo had dark eye bags due to the lack of sleep he had decided to pull an all-nighter on GQO. "Whats up?" (Saito) He looked at both of them and let a warm smile, Mika and Rikyo were both Saito''s close friends so he had missed them during the past week. The first thing he wanted to do is change his name, well give himself a name since he did not have one. Saito asked around for information about legally changing names, he was directed towards the building in the centre of the village. The building was slightly bigger than the ones surrounding it, there were people buzzing in and out of the building and it seemed quite busy. On Top of the building, there was a large sign which read out ''Adventurer Guild''. Saito entered the building and headed towards the main desk, he avoided any eye contact with the Adventurers within the building. He was not looking forward to any unwanted attention, once he reached the front desk he was accompanied by an elven woman. She had long pointy ears reaching out of her Long silky blonde hair, Her eyes were pure blue which caught the attention of many men with just a gaze. "Hi, My name is Ashera can I help you in any way?" (Ashera) "Yes I would like to legally change my name" (Saito) Ashera let out a sigh as he looked at Saito. "Do you happen to not like your current name?" (Ashera) She gazed at Saito with an annoyed expression, recently a lot of adventurers have come to her in order to change their name instead of trading goods with the guild. When adventurers sell materials to the guild the receptionist who accompanies them gets 5% of the profit. "I don''t really have a name, so I''m not here to change my name I''m here to get one" (Saito) Ashera looked at Saito with a puzzled expression. "Sorry?" (Ashera) "I want to give myself a name.." (Saito) Ashera continued to stare at Saito, Suddenly she widened her eyes. She realised something, white hair a scar in his left eye and no name. "You''re..." (Ashera) Ashera was shivering in fear, he had identified someone who perfectly fit the description of the Mythical One Eyed Wanderer. A being that was rumoured to travel the lands and destroy anything in its path. "I''m?" (Saito) "One Eye..." (Ashera) She slowly backed away to gain some distance from Saito. "Wait I understand why you''re reacting like that I''m not who you think I am, you can check my Status for proof" (Saito) Ashera was still on guard as she slowly backed away even further. (Ashera) Saito let out a sigh "I just happen to have white hair and a scar on my left eye, I know what you''re thinking but once you check my level you will believe me." (Saito) Ashera slowly lowered her guard "wait here" (Ashera) She went into a room behind a counter and came back out with a crystal orb in her hand, everyone in the room was glaring at Saito who did not want any attention. Ashera placed the orb on top of the counter right in front of Saito. "Pour some mana into this" (Ashera) Saito wasn''t expecting Ashera to actually test him, he would be in a lot of trouble once they view his race. he slowly reached towards the crystal clear orb. "I mean we don''t really have to do this" (Saito) He let out a wry smile as he looked at Ashera behind the counter, he was not planning on unmasking himself in front of so many players. "Then you are the One-Eyed Wanderer" (Ashera) "How annoying" (Saito) he placed his hand on the orb and poured mana into it, the orb started to glow as it opened up Saito''s status screen. However something was different, the screen did not contain any information about Saito''s race or Title. "See I told you" (Saito) Ashera glared at Saito for a moment. "Your stats are abnormally high but other than that you seem pretty normal." (Ashera) She slowly frowned. "I''m extremely sorry for causing you trouble, I accused you without proof." "it''s fine I can understand why you mistook me for the Mythical Destroyer" (Saito) he had a smile on his face as cold sweat ran down his back, he was relieved that the status screen did not contain information about his race. "So what would you like your name to be?" (Saito) Saito placed his right hand on his chin to help him think of a name. "hmm let''s see why don''t we go with Kirito...." (Saito) "Never mind everyone will call me a weeaboo if I do that, let''s go with Saito" He looked at Ashera who was nodding senselessly. "Ok would you like to sign up for an Adventurer card?" (Ashera) Saito looked at Ashera as he thought about the question, he knew that he would obtain some advantage if he became an adventurer he had heard about it from Rikyo. Adventurers are able to accept quests which allows them to gather money, there is also a rank system which allows them to increase the difficulty of their quests and gain new privileges. Adventurers can also access the Grand Market which allows users to sell items for in-game money, this allowed people to consider Grand Quest Online as their part-time jobs. "yes please" (Saito) Saito replied as he nodded with satisfaction, earning money from a game was something every gamer would dream of. "ok we will use the information from the Crystal if that''s fine with you" (Ashera) After Saito had finished his conversation with Ashera about the adventurer''s card he was told to come back in 2 days to collect it, mean while Saito left the guild hall and began to search for a blacksmith. He urgently needed equipment in order to defend himself from monsters. After half an hour he managed to locate a blacksmith, it was surprisingly empty once he got inside, in fact, he was the only person in the building beside the shop owner of course. The owner of the shop was an old man in his 80''s he looked like a retired adventurer due to his big physique. "do you need something kid?" (Dandre) Saito was beginning to get annoyed with the Npc''s attitude, they all seemed to hate Saito for some reason. "I''m looking for some equipment, preferably daggers and a good quality armour." (Saito) Dandre stood there like a stone statue as he stared at Saito, he was examining Saito''s Physique in order to find a suitable armour. "wait here kid" (Dandre) The old man disappeared into a room and came back out a few minutes later, he carried a red leather armour and two short daggers cladded in red. "Fire Lizard armour and extremely durable yet flexible armour that new adventurers would die for, Magnum daggers crafted from the shards of a Fire Lizard Egg extremely sharp and light." Saito was staring at the armour and dagger with an amazed expression. "if you want to buy both of them it will cost you 86 silver" (Dandre) The equipment was of good quality, however, Saito knew how hard it was to earn money in this world, Rikyo had told him about the struggle and hardship he went through in order to gather 5 gold which is the amount of money he needed to make a guild. Saito was a little shocked he did not expect to see his inventory full of the items he obtained from Lucifer''s Dimension, Saito took out 86 silver which he needed for the set. "here you go" (Saito) he placed the silver on the counter and picked up the daggers and armour, he decided to wear it as he did not have sufficient space in his inventory. Once he put on the armour and dagger''s he left the store to find an area he could use to farm XP, Saito managed to gather some information about a goblin cave near the village. he decided to head towards the cave which was located north of the village.

Chapter 5 - Murder *Clash* The sound of two metal colliding with each other filled the cave After leaving the village Saito had decided to head over to the goblin cave which was considered a low-level farming area in order to level up. Upon reaching the goblin cave Saito entered but was startled by the sounds which emitted from withing the cave, inhuman screams vibrated as it bounced off the walls of the cave causing Saito''s curiosity to drive him mad. Not being able to hold it in any longer Saito decided to enter the cave to investigate the strange screams. "Why do I keep getting involved in abnormal activities, I just wanted to farm normal goblins!" (Saito) Saito who was carrying two daggers on each arm was currently standing a few feet away from a mutated goblin king, it was three times the size of Saito with skin as red as the blood which was scattered on the ground. "Filthy human die already!" (Goblin King) He swung his massive blade which he was carrying on his back towards Saito, However Saito managed to easily evade the blade in fact while the blade was forcing itself towards Saito it seemed to go in slow motion. "Filthy?, you''re eating your own people" (Saito) Upon entering the cave Saito was welcomed with a horrifying scene, the crimson Goblin stood in the middle of the room as it feasted on lower goblins within the cave. Its body was covered in blood as he ate everything in its way not even leaving the bones of its prey. The goblin King became enraged due to Saito''s words, it forced its blade up and swung it down at Saito who was standing in front of him. Saito managed to evade the attack however due to the forceful impact from the blade and the surface of the ground around the area began to rumble which caused Saito to lose his balance. "You filthy human, I''ve got you now!" (Goblin kIng) The goblin king raised its sword directly aiming at Saito who still laid on the ground. "Shit, why can''t I move!" (Saito) [Your body has been stunned from ''Heavy Smash''] The blade was now at the peak of its height, the Goblin King stared at Saito with a smirk on his Crimson face which made him look like a demonic beast. "Take this!" Saito charged his right hand as it cladded itself with crimson Aura, The dagger in his left hand started to vibrate a little as he released it from his hand. *Swoosh* The dagger pierced the Goblin king''s left eye causing it to kneel in pain, Saito repeated the same actions with his left hand but this time aiming for the goblin king''s heart causing it to pierce through the Thick crimson skin. The goblin king coughed up blood leaving a puddle underneath him, he could not keep track of Saito due to the extreme pain which he was suffering from. "How does it feel to be on the other end!" (Saito) Saito ran towards the kneeling goblin king and retrieved the dagger which was in his left eye, He jumped back in order to avoid any incoming attacks after he retrieved one of his daggers. "I must admit I did not expect you to escape from that situation" The goblin king let out a smirk as he got himself to stand up, he threw the blade which he was holding with his right hand away. "But at your current stage, you''re no match for me!" "Vinaquirem miopiar akular sinur jistrathar qaziem sinur qaziem.." (Goblin King) Before it could finish its incantation he was stopped midway with a puzzled expression, He gazed at Saito was running away from him heading towards the exit. "HA!, you think I''m gonna take that head on?" (Saito) Saito ran out of the cave in order to avoid contact with the high-rank magic. "YOU COWERED!" (Goblin King) The goblin king was amazed usually when he fought people they would rather die fighting than run away as a coward. Outside the cave Saito laid against a tree whilst trying to catch his breath, he looked at his hands and noticed he was missing a dagger. "Great now I''m one dagger short" (Saito) Eventually, Saito decided to check his skills as he was able to use dagger throw he might have various other skills which could help him fight the Goblin King. [Level up] Saito ran towards the corpse of the goblin which laid on the floor, he managed to pull out his dagger and throw it at the goblin in front of him whilst picking up a damaged sword which the corpse carried. [Level up] "Ugh" (Goblin) The goblin fell to his knees as it let out a cry causing its companions to turn around, They clearly had an expression of fear on their face''s it''s as if they understood the situation they were in. Some of the goblins started to flee as they feared they would face death if they faced the enemy in front of them, however, Saito ran towards the goblin''s whilst pulling out the dagger from the corpse. He carried the sword in his left hand and the dagger in his right, he had tried to use dagger throw again however it did not execute he gasped as he tried to force the air into his body, it seemed that the skills caused him to grow tired after a few uses due to his level. "Dammit!" (Saito) He launched himself at the fleeing goblin and managed to stab its leg causing it to fall over, he stood up on his feet and made his way to the goblin. The goblin who laid on the floor cried out in pain, it was trying to drag itself away from Saito. The goblin managed to raise his sword and aimlessly swung it at Saito as his last hope of survival, it slowly calmed down and laid on the ground as it whimpered in fear the goblin knew he could not escape his death so he laid there lifelessly as Saito approached him. "This is kinda sad" (Saito) He frowned as he raised the sword which he was carrying and swung it down to put the whimpering goblin out of his misery, Saito took a last look at the goblin who laid on the cold floor lifelessly with its eyes wide open. it genuinely felt like the goblin was alive rather than a computer generated mob, he thought to himself as he stared at the crimson blood flow out of its body. "there''s no way this is fake" (Saito) Saito had hints of fear in his face, he was sure that these goblins were real and not computer generated. He also wondered how he could feel the breeze which hit his face every now and then and feel the pain inflicted by his enemies, he could smell his surroundings and feel his skin as if it was actually real. "This isn''t fake there''s no way, it''s impossible to create something like this" (Saito) Saito regained his consciousness as he looked at the dead goblin, the corpse was still there it had not vanished like it would in normal RPG games. He looked around and set his vision on the cave, he frowned as started to head towards the cave. "Oi, muscle head!" (Saito) He entered the cave as his voice echoed the area catching the goblin king''s attention, a huge crimson figure appeared from the end of the cave as he walked up to Saito. "Your back coward" (Goblin King) The goblin king gazed at Saito as he gave out a sinister smile. "Have you heard of Vision or any strange changes around this area." (Saito) the goblin king had a puzzled expression on his face as he looked at Saito. "Your the strangest thing that I have come across ever since my creation?" (Goblin King) "Have you noticed any significant changes which took place around 2 months ago?" (Goblin King) Saito dashed towards the goblin king as he swung his dagger leaving a cut on his arm whilst the goblin king raised his blade trying to ignore the pain, a few seconds later the blade landed onto the surface of the cave causing the ground to tremble. Saito jumped back as he avoided the impact, the goblin king dashed towards Saito with his blade to his left. *Swoosh* The blade flew towards Saito causing him to panic, Saito quickly jumped out of the way however his arm was struck by the blade causing it to break. "AGHHH" (Saito) He cried out in pain. "Hahaha, I got you filthy human" (Goblin King) The goblin king dashed towards Saito as he aimed for Saito''s head with his fists, Saito pulled out a sword and pierced it through his stomach while throwing his dagger which pierced the goblin king''s right eye. The goblin king cried out in pain as he stepped back, his punch had landed on Saito''s chest causing him to cough up some blood. Saito walked up the goblin king and pulled out the sword had pierced its stomach, the sword shattered into pieces as Saito repeatedly stabbed the goblin King. "T-Tell me H-H-Have y-you noticed anything s-strange lately?" (Saito) *Cough* Saito dropped onto his knees next to the goblin king as he coughed out blood. Saito dropped as he had no energy left in his body, he was slowly dying due to injuries gained from the goblin king. (Saito) Saito sat on top of his bed without moving for almost half an hour, his hands were still trembling with fear. He had just killed a living being with intelligence similar to that of a human, in his eyes he had just committed murder which was an unforgivable crime in his world. "i-I''m sorry.." Darkness covered the room as the sun set, Saito felt a shiver run down his body as he stared through the window which revealed the dark sky filled with burning stars. Chapter 6 - Legendary Demon Remains *Buzz* *Buzz* Saito opened his eyes to the sound of his ringing phone which was sitting beside him, He did not waste any time getting out of bed which was out of the norm as he usually did the exact opposite. Saito decided to wake up early in order to gain some knowledge about the information that he gathered due to his encounter with the goblins and Goblin King. Upon doing some research Saito managed to catch up with the past events that had taken place in Grand Quest Online, however, what caught his attention was the discarded event which had been swept under the carpet exactly 1 month and 2 weeks ago. It turns out that many players experienced what Saito had been through last night and complained about it due to their suspicions, but Vision managed to convince the world that what they were experiencing was a highly advanced NPC and Mob system which responded by assessing the situation. Saito, however, was still not convinced he was sure that what he experienced was not man made, but he didn''t have the power to bring up this topic. Even if he managed to catch the attention of a large crowd who would believe a teenager who claims that goblins and fairies are real. Saito let out a sigh as he browsed the internet for information about the event, however, there were no active groups who were trying to light the truth behind Grand Quest Online. "I guess I have no choice" After a few minutes Saito decided to explore the GQO Auction Site, he had already heard the details from his classmates. One of the main features which GQO offered was the Auction Site which allowed players to sell in-game items for money, believe it or not in past 2 months there have been a number of people who managed to monopolise the system allowing them to make a living out of it. "Umm lets see how does this work?" After a while Saito managed to link his account to the website by going through an effortless process, the website only needed a physical image of Saito which was converted from the Headset. "I guess ill auction an item" Saito decided to put up some of his items for auction, it was a fairly straightforward task as Saito only needed to select items which were going to be auctioned from his inventory which was located within the website. Once the Transaction is complete the item is converted from the seller''s account to the buyer''s account, and of course, the money will be transferred to the buyer''s bank account. "Let''s see, one Demon Horn and Demon Skin should do for now" Saito decided to put up two legendary items with a starting bid of 12,000 Yen ($106). Saito, however, greeted the guard and rushed towards his class which was now full of students, however, something was strange as everyone including the teacher was staring at their phones blankly. "Good morning" (Saito) he walked towards his seat after greeting the teacher who was still staring at her phone, the class was in chaos as everyone seemed to be screaming at the top of their voices. "Your going to bid?, surely you jest with your families wealth you won''t stand a chance" (Kyoko Sasaki) The voice of a female silenced the room as she walked towards Saito and Arata, she was glaring at Arata with her mesmerising blue pupils. Chapter 7 - Consequences Saito was again woken up by the sound of the ringing alarm, however this time he did not rush to get up instead he laid on top of his bed staring at the ceiling. Saito had tried logging into GQO last night, however, he was unable to as he was killed within the game, Saito managed to find out that the Consequences of dying leads to a 2-day lockdown and loss of a random item from his inventory. He got up from his bed to check on the selling items in the Grand Auction House which should have ended by now, it was currently nine in the morning which meant he would have been late for school. However due to the events which unfolded the day before the school decided to expel Saito, well it wasn''t surprising as Kyoko''s family had the power to influence the school decisions. ''Wait what''s this...'' Saito stared at the screen in disbelief the items that he had put up yesterday were on the top page and the bid was still going with only a minute remaining, The 2 legendary demon remains were currently at the price of 900k Yen and the numbers were still increasing bit by bit, Saito was still staring at the screen in disbelief. Although he knew the items would sell for quite a lot because of the commotion that took place yesterday, he could never dream of handling this amount of money at a young age. Saito selected his items which were sold in order to dispatch them to the buyers to account only then will he have access to the money, However as he was about to dispatch he suddenly realised the reason why he had been expelled in the first place. Ifit truly was the Sasaki family he could use this opportunity to play around with them. "Greetings, I am the buyer of the auctioned items" (Mr Sasaki) "Hi sorry to bother you but could you give me your name" (Saito) He was looking forward to the identity of the buyer if it truly turns out to be Kyoko''s father he would have the chance to reduce his punishment given by the school. "...." Without giving the goblin any chance to retaliate the small piece of rock had pierced the goblins head leaving it lifeless, in fact, the goblin didn''t even notice his death. "This strength..." Saito was truly shocked, henow understood why stat points were so precious to players. a difference of 2 stat points could be considered as a decent gap. "A warrior at the current stage of the game should have around 11 stat points on strength, Which means I''m around three times stronger than a level 26 warrior." Since it has already been a month and a few weeks the players on the leaderboard range from level 29-31 after level 30 players are meant to face their first wall making it extremely difficult to level up due to the amount of XP needed. The developers of GQO have announced that there is no level limit, however, they suspect that they won''t be any player going beyond level 100 due to difficulty in levelling at that stage of the game. in fact, only a few players may reach that level and could be counted in one hand. Defeating bosses first allows you to secure your seat as one of these five for the future since first clears give two times the amount of XP that a player would receive from clearing the same boss after the first. This was an area under the control of the Sickle Valley Clan, although it is a small area to control land as a clan was considered to be out of the norm. The size of a clan is much smaller than a guild and usually, consist of 500-1000 members whilst a guild could have up to a million members depending on its size and structure. "Sickle Valley must consist of elite members, to hold such a feat with at most 100 members I can''t help but admire them" Upon arriving at Sickle valley he made his way towards the town, the Sickle valley was protected by mountains from side to side only leaving one exit. the buildings resembled old Japanese structures whilst the surrounding was covered in greenery and lakes. it gave out a peaceful and calm aura representing the peaceful nature of the Sickle Valley Clan, the city Lord of Sickle valley happened to be the clan head. The town consisted of many shops and stands to sell various equipment and items, Saito''s who was slightly interested in the structure of the town decided to have a look around. The daggers which he had purchased from the previous town seemed to have low durability since they were completely destroyed by the goblin king, Saito decided to buy a dagger and a 10 poisoned knives which cost him 50 silver. since he had run out of silver he decided to use gold allowing him to get 50 silver as change. He didn''t waste too much time in the sickle valley, after buying the daggers and throwing poisoned knives he headed towards the Canyon which wasn''t far from the sickle valley. his armor which had been slightly damaged wasn''t replaced, he felt it would be a waste to buy a new set of armor so he decided to keep his current one. "Ok, I''m all set, since I have poisoned knives I can keep my distance whilst farming" Around 30 minutes passed before Saito arrived at the Canyon, he took out a few throwing knives before getting into position. He currently had two daggers a normal steel dagger and a special dagger which he received from Lucifers dungeon, all his items were in check. Saito made his way down to the canyon whilst keeping his guard up, although his stats where insanely high he did not dare to underestimate his enemies. "There are various other creature within the canyon, ill have to be careful when moving around I should avoid catching any attention from the stronger monsters" After a few minutes of slows moving around whilst paying attention to any movements in the surrounding ended up with nothing but the sound of air blowing into the canyon and the sight of dust riding the waves of wind going deeper into the canyon. "That''s strange, continuously farming a species of monsters can gradually decrease their population outside of a dungeon. However, I''m pretty sure at this stage of the game even the elites shouldn''t be able to pull off such a feat." Saito continued to sneak around in the canyon trying to look for any trace''s left behind by the kobolds, they were draconic like creatures so hiding their footprints would be a challenge. using this Saito was able to finally spot a trail of footprints leading deeper into the canyon. and judging by the size of the footprints they seemed to meet the description of a kobold. SWOOSH! an arrow pierced through the silent air making its way towards Saito''s head. "Slow" Due to Saito''s reflexes boosted by his agility, he was able to easily evade the arrow, with 30 agility even avoiding bullets would be considered as normal. "CHARGE!!!" The silence was broken yet again with a draconic cry emitted by a kobold located right behind Saito with a spear piercing towards Saito. "Not good" Saito equipped one of his daggers and a throwing knife whilst lowering his head to avoid contact with the spear, the kobold archer who was positioned in the distance took his stance as he readied another round of fire aiming for Saito without any hesitation. As soon as the kobold managed to aim for its target Saito threw the knife launching it towards the Kobolds hand, whilst positioning his dagger and piercing towards the kobold warrior. "KUHAA!" Since Saito had the ability to take them out one by one with his throwing knives he didn''t hesitate to do so. although it was a cowardly move, to Saito it was the most effective way to raise his level. Right now he didn''t need battle experience, what he needs the most are levels in order to catch up to the elites. After only 10 minutes the horde had been completely cleared, without being able to track Saito the kobolds had entered a state of panic not knowing what to do. one by one their comrades had been taken out with knives, and every now and then a shadow would fly past them collecting the knives before instantly disappearing. Saito collected the materials from the horde he had successfully finished out. he felt slightly relieved, at first he thought it wouldn''t be possible to catch up with the rest of the players however at this pace it wouldn''t be a problem. A boy around the same age as Saito spoke up, he wore a purple heavy fitted armor which covered most of his body. although the armor seemed rather unusual what attracted the eye was the metal badge located at the center of the armor. it resembled a sword with a small purple gem located in the middle of the blade, this badge was in fact well known in the continent. "What business do you have with the Twilight Order!" Upon hearing the boys words Arata frowned, he had been invited by Kyoko''s older brother Kiyoshi Sasaki for a guild meeting. Although he didn''t know the details he did not dare to decline, such an opportunity could allow him to strengthen his guild relationships.
