From the countless planets forming in the universe every second, this planet was special and the reason for that was, it was the sole devourer. Meaning that it was the only planet in the universe that rather than trying to maintain harmony with everthing around it and coexist, devoured everything that came near it! Lamkas was one of the first planets that came into existence. It was at the perfect distance from a bright star, had plenty of water, a perfectly functional atmosphere and an abundance of natural resources. Everything necessary to sustain life! But strangely enough, rather than waiting to meet the right conditions for the beginning of life, this world developed it''s own consciousness. Then it began devouring everything in it''s surrounding and converted it into a special form of energy that later came to be known as mana. When it had collected enough mana, the consciousness used that mana and took form of two intellectual beings. These beings had predetermined functions, one was the creator and the other was the customizor and destroyer. In the course of the next millions of years, these beings used mana to create, modify and destroy numerous lifeforms. In a sense, this was their trial and error period. Finally, they were able to create an ecosystem that complemented every being it consisted of. And in a those years, the two being that made all this possible developed personalities and so did all of their creations.This story has been stolen from Royal Road. They were curious and agressive while the plants were calm and usually laid dormant. The animals with more intellect thrived even more. They developed language, culture, started hunting other animals for food, made shelters to protect themselves from the harsh weather, started farming and rearing of animals for more food and other resources and invented new ways for a better living. And in all those phases, the two beings that made all of them were there, making new lifeforms, modifying them in ways that benefitted the planet and eliminating anything that was deemed harmful. Then came a time when the two beings decided to stop their work and let nature take its course. They wondered,what would happen if they stopped creating and interfering with the flow of the world for some time? The only problem was that for the beings who had been living for millions of years, ''some time'' was a really really long time! They decided to take the forms of the most intellectual animals and go on a ''vacation'' that never came to an end! For the next thousands of years, they interacted with and supported these animals due to which these animals, especially the bipedal kind, flourished. Living with these animals affected the two beings as well. Their personalities became more complex and they learned the meaning of the term relationship and naturally formed a relationship of brothers between themselves. The creator who named himself Aur became the big brother and the customizor who named himself Argent became the little brother. Fairies, elves, dwarves, dragons, spirits and many other races came to call these two brothers ''Gods''. Eventually Aur fell in love with a member of the dragonewts and married her. The race that was born from their copulation, received the name demons. The little brother got married to a member of the elf community and the race they gave birth to, received the name humans. Later Aur and Argent, as gods, taught these races a lot of things. The most important of them being, magic. They invented class, levels and skill systems to help these races evolve even further. They ruled them for thousands of years. But every story has a sad phase! In the end, the two brothers fought. Fought a battle with life and death at stake. At the end of their fight, they both received grievous injuries. Aur slipped into a period of recovery sleep while Argent who was afraid of his brother''s swift recovery, tore his soul in two and sent one part to another world for recovery and maintained the other in lamkas. This is the story, of the lives and adventures of the two souls that once made Argent, of what caused the two brothers who were once inseparable to fight and of the lives of the people around them! This is the story of ''the lives of Vince and Remus''! 2. Beginning of adventure 1 " Ok, i am going now. Take care of yourself." Remus said before leaving. He heard a faint reply before closing the door. " ''take care of yourself as well'' huh, i don''t think you are in a condition to worry about others sis. " He mumbled. " It''s that day again. Ugh! " He wasn''t in a good mood today. The reason for that was that today was the monthy physical examination. He never did like going to school but the thing he hated the most was this, the day on which they conducted the physical examination for all the students in his grade. It wasn''t like he didn''t like people looking at his body, he didn''t mind that at all. Correction, he did hate it a little bit. The reason being, for a sophomore in high school, Remus was a bit too fit. He had a perfectly toned body, a tall height and a handsome looking face. So, whenever he took his clothes off, the looks the nearby crowd gave him varied greatly. The looks the girls gave were mostly positive. He could see interest, curiosity, affection and even the desire to flirt in their eyes. Even the female medical examiner had a strange look in her eyes. Looking into them made him feel as if she wanted to eat him whole! But the problem started with the boys. He could feel jealously, envy and hate from their eyes and expressions. He could somehow understand and to a level, even manage to handle their feelings but the one person he could not manage was the P. E. teacher. Apparently, he liked the aforementioned medical examiner and the expressions he made whenever he saw her giving Remus a flirtatious gaze, gave Remus the impression that he had made Remus his arch nemesis a long time ago. But even that was not the main reason Remus hated this day. The reason he hated this day was the other half of the physical examination. The part where they tested a person''s physical abilities. And the reason for ''that'' was a bit twisted and complicated. He usually skipped school on these days. The city planetarium, museums and other interesting places were more important than showing off how strong or fast you were in his opinion. " Guess i will take a nap. " Today however, he decided to spend a bit of time in solitude. He left his apartment and started walking down the street. After a bit of time and a few turns, he reached an abandoned building. Entering the building, he took a flight of stairs and started walking towards the roof. The building was an unfinished hotel. The owner was caught and put in jail for the smuggling of illegal drugs, the builder, after losing the source of capital decided to leave the building unfinished. Remus found this building a few months after he shifted to this neighborhood and it had become his usual place for hanging out ever since. Whenever he felt like being alone, he would visit this place. " This place is as dirty as ever." Reaching the roof, he looked around and grumbled. The only reason he liked this place, was because nobody else came here. Finishing his thoughts, he started cleaning a part of the ground. After he was done cleaning, he laid on the ground and using his school bag as a pillow, started napping. ...... After taking a satisfying nap, he opened his eyes. But the scene in front of his eyes was different, totally different from the one he saw before he closing them! A white room. No, a white area? As far as his eyes allowed him, he could see nothing but white. There was nothing else in this area but him, even his school bag was gone. " Wha-?! " He panicked. His mind stopped working for a moment. " haa~ fuu~ haa~ fuu~" He took a few deep breaths and tried calming his mind. After a few seconds, he cleared his mind and started thinking of reasons for being in this place and situation. " Something happened while I was sleeping. Somebody did something to me while i was sleeping or maybe it''s just a dream or maybe.... " He got up and started jumping. After a few jumps, he started running and after that, he started hitting himself in different places. After a few more actions, he had cleared most of the reasons and was only left with three. " No, this is not a dream. I have a bit too much thought control for that. " With a bit more reasoning, he cleared the thought of this being a dream. " I don''t think somebody drugged or hypnotised me either. I have total control of my thought and body processes and am one of those people who are nearly impossible to hypnotize. " At some point in the past few years, Remus had turned into a loner. Although he did have a few people he could call good friends, he instinctively formed a barrier around him. So most of his time was spent on physical training, martial arts and reading books. In all the books and research papers he read about how drugs worked and what they did to the brain, he had read many scientific papers and countless patient testimonies and all of them summarized that he couldn''t possibly be in so much control of his senses if he was drugged. And as far as hypnosis goes, he had once visited a seminar organized by professionals, on hypnotism and its medical benefits. When the head of the seminar had called for a volunteer, Remus had raised his hand. It began with a low level technique, but seeing as it didn''t work, the professional had tried almost everything he know, to hypnosis and put Remus to sleep. But in the end, he had failed and told Remus and the audience that he couldn''t find the right conditions. After the end of the show, that professional who was apparently named Matt had told Remus that he was one of those few people who were near impossible to hypnotize and looking into his curiosity filled eyes, had offered to teach Remus about real hypnotism. Remus, who loved unraveling the mysteries of the human mind, had immediately taken up the offer and had learned everything Matt could teach him in the next few months, that too, in his spare time. In their last meeting, Matt had told him that he was a genius in this field and looking at his execution and technique, he could even hypnotise Matt, who was a world renowned hypnotist himself. From all those experiences, Remus could tell that he had not been hypnotised in his sleep. " then am i..... " He couldn''t complete the sentence, or maybe he didn''t want to. Because the last reason he could come up with was, death! 3. Past 1 The first time Remus noticed that he was different from the other kids around him was when he was 4 years old. Being an orphan, he didn''t have parents who could take care of him but fortunately, the orphanage he lived in was owned and run by a wealthy and old Chinese man named Chen. Chen, with a few servants took great care of all the children in the orphanage, big and small. He made a library, where the children could read all sorts of books. Maintained a garden where they could play all day. Every night, he would read bedtime stories to the children, so that they could have a good night sleep. He made all the children go to school and ingrained moral values into them, so that they could become stable and working members of the society.He even went as far as to teaching them self defense. Everybody who worked in or visited the orphanage could tell that Chen deeply cared about the children. And Remus, like many other kids, made Chen his father figure. He would always follow him around, like a shadow that never left his side. Chen doted on Remus as well, which made the situation even worse. He taught Remus all sorts of things. Starting from letters and numbers, he taught him elementary level science and maths. He even taught him a variety of martial arts! This caused Remus to develop a fondness for physical training and reading books. This might seem nice and all but there was a huge problem! All of this was happening when he was only 4 years old! When the other children around him were learning to form sentences, he was sending letters to the public library, asking them to send him books on national history! Although Remus didn''t notice anything abnormal because all of his lessons were taught to him by Chen, Chen did. He was filled with surprise and excitement, the first time he noticed Remus'' monstrous learning abilities. Seeing that he absorbed everything he taught him like a sponge, Chen decided to keep it a secret from the others and even Remus himself. He wanted to see how far Remus could go with only pure curiosity by his side! His lessons had started when he was only 3 years old, and by the time he was 4, Remus had already learned what childeren learned in middle school! Remus was a child who didn''t have a problem living a scheduled life. He would start the day by going for a run in the nearby community park, later he would practice martial arts with Chen until breakfast. After that he would play with his friends in the garden until he got tired. After lunch, he would stay in the library reading all kinds of books. He liked reading literature and history. But the subject that fascinated him the most was science. Even though he could not understand what a lot of what was written in those books meant, he would still memorize them. Then he would start from the lowest level and build his understanding . And whenever he learned enough to be able to understand what was written in those books that he couldn''t before, the feeling of being able to learn what all that which me memorize meant, to him was, ecstatic! Unfortunately, this didn''t last long. One normal day, while Remus was playing, one of his friends started bragging about being able to solve a math problem, all the other children started applauding! Looking at this, Remus became interested and looked at the problem. But when he looked at it, he became confused.If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. He was going to start trigonometry in a few days! He found it to be very strange. Why were all the children applauding when one of them solved a problem this simple? He wanted to know, what was there to applaud about? He thought that, it would rather be a big problem, if that kid was not able solve something that simple! But he stopped. Remus had always been good at reading people''s expressions and when he looked at the children applauding, he saw wonder and amazement in their expressions. All of them had faces filled with awe! He reached to a quick conclusion, that there was nothing strange with the problem or the kid who solved it or the children who were busy applauding. The one who was strange was Remus himself! He was confused. Bewildered! He quickly left and started running towards Chen''s office. He opened the door without knocking and found Chen sitting on his chair, playing solo chess. He moved to his side and called out to him. He looked in his eyes and told him what happened. He asked what was going on. For the next few minutes, Chen remained silent. He saw Remus'' face and for the first time in his life, could see a fear filled expression on it. He got up and hugged him tightly! Remus started crying. They remained in this position until he stopped. Then Chen lifted him up and put him on the table. He made a serious expression and broke the silence. He explained everything to Remus. From his abnormal learning abilities to his extraordinary body, that could keep up with the harshest of trainings! Remus listened carefully and made a strange expression. After he was done with his explanation, Chen stopped and waited for Remus to curse at him. But that never happened. Rather than being angry, Remus understood Chen''s reason. He thanked him sincerely and told him to keep things going the way they were before! Remus did not want to be singled out and thus, he decided to keep learning and training in secret and to act as if he was learning the same things as the other kids around his age. ........ Things continued as they were before. Remus decided to go to school with all his friends. He acted average. Did average in class and sports. But he never stop studying and training in secret. By the time he was 6 years old, he had learned everything at highschool level. Chen decided to test him and gave him a college entrance exam level test! Remus passed it with flying colors! Studying wasn''t the only thing he was progressing at. His physical abilities were advancing rapidly as well! Chen even told him that he could defeat a peron 10 years older that him if he wanted to! Life went on like this for a while. Just after Remus celebrated his 8th birthday, she, came into his life. A girl named Ahenna started living in the orphanage. She was eleven years old and had lost her parents, in a car accident. After a relocation, she had ended up here. She was beautiful and had long brown hair. A smart girl, who was lively and smiled often. She was kind and liked helping the orphanage staff in their work. She was good at both studying and sports. She quickly mixed in with the people of the orphanage. It felt as if she had been here for years. But. All of this was not important to Remus. The first time he looked at her, he was, thunderstruck! A strange feeling started to bubbling up in his heart. He tried understanding what this feeling was. He quickly discovered that it was not that love at first sight, which he had read about in all those romance novels. He felt that he had to protect her. No! It was much more simple. He didn''t understand why but he felt as if his heart was screaming at him to keep her by his side and keep her safe! This was new to him. He had never felt like this before. Not even toward Chen, much less towards a stranger like Ahenna! Surprisingly, rather than suppressing this feeling, he decided to embrace it! He started telling her to follow him wherever he went and when that wasn''t possible, he would follow her instead. He even told her about his learning ability because he spent half his day training and studying, also, he couldn''t let her out of his sight, so she would have found out about it sooner or later. She didn''t believe him at first, but when he displayed him knowledge and skills to her, she showed an incomprehensible expression and decided to believed him. This schedule of following and being followed continued. ....... The first time Remus experienced becomes furious was when he was 10 years old. Life was proceeding at the usual pace. In the 2 years Remus and Ahenna had been together, they had come to form a brother - sister relationship. They stopped calling each other using names and used ''sis'' and ''little bro'' instead. He would help her in her studies and personally taught her self defense. They spent most of their time together. Ahenna''s friends would tease her by calling Remus her boyfriend, to which she would simply respond with a smile. Remus'' buddies would make fun of him by calling Ahenna his wife, to which he responded with a kick to the butt. When, one day, Remus was returning after finishing dinner. He was going towards the roof where he and Ahenna would usually spend hours, looking at the stars. He was just about to take the stairs when, he heard a girl''s cry. It was coming from the storage room that was located next to stairs. He immediately recognized that voice. It was Ahenna! He panicked and ran towards the storage room door and tried kicking it open. Fortunately, it wasn''t locked. But what he saw inside made his mind freeze! He saw more than 10 boys who looked to be around 16 - 17 years old, Hurting Ahenna! No! They were not hurting. They were trying to abuse her! 4. Past 2 Her clothes were in tatters and she had tears running down her face! For a moment, Remus couldn''t comprehend what he was looking at. After a few seconds, he didn''t want to! His mind was filled with endless rage and fury! He shouted in a voice filled with anger and told them to stop! The boys finally noticed Remus standing on the door. But looking at his small figure, decided to ignore him and continued ripping Ahenna''s clothes. Remus looking at what happened and stopped speaking. The next moment, reasoning left his mind! Instinct took over! He took a step forward and took the rusty looking metal pipe lying near the door. He started running and bashed the pipe on the head of the boy standing nearest to him and was laughing with a lecherous look on his face. The boy collapsed on spot. But before he could even fall, Remus had hammered the pipe into another boy''s face! The other kids finally notice what Remus had done and had bewildered expressions on their faces. But it was too late. Before they could get on their feet and take positions, Remus had attacked another boy on the back of his neck, the pain from the concussion caused him to scream and pass out. The next victim was the one who was holding Ahenna''s legs. Remus attacked him with a fist to the nose, followed by a strike on the chest! Now, there were 8 others left. Remus took a sword stance with the pipe and took a step forward. His target had enough time to prepare and had extended his hands out, he was trying to catch the pipe. But the things he imagined never happened! As Remus delivered his strike, he tried grabbing the pipe but the strike was too fast and unbelievably strong. He couldn''t stop the strike and it landed straight into his face. Fortunately, he didn''t faint. But that was what was unfortunate for him, because now he had to feel the pain! The next person to take action was not Remus but a boy who was standing in a corner of the room. He also had a wooden stick in hand. Apparently, he was the leader of this group. He was famous for being short tempered. On top of that, he had been practicing martial arts from an early age, which made him even more scary, as he was really good at fighting! Most of the people in this room were his followers. The moment he took action, he signaled 2 of his followers to attack as well. The two who received his orders, ran bare handed towards Remus. It took only an instant for Remus to understand what was happening. He swiftly took a paperweight lying on the table next to him and threw it toward one of the followers'' crotch. By the time he threw it, the leader was upon him! He knew he couldn''t block the stick approaching him, as the leader had more power than him. So he decided to deflect it, and the direction he deflected it to, was from where the other follower was coming. The stick landed on his leg. As the leader had used all of this power in this strike, it was quite lethal. Kreeeaak This was the sound of bones breaking. The follower held his leg and the pain caused him to faint. The leader noticed what happened and raged! He couldn''t accept a kid using his own strike to attack his follower. He took the stick which was in a sorry condition and took action.This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. But Remus was faster. He had already decided the next set of actions and had used the force from the strike he delivered to the stick to take a 360 degree turn and delivered another strike to the leader''s neck. It landed on the spot he wanted and the leader fell without even making a sound! All this took a bit to explain but had occurred in less than 3 seconds! The guy who had a paperweight thrown at his crotch was lying on the ground, crying in agony. The one who was busy tearing Ahenna''s clothes couldn''t take it anymore. He told the one holding Ahenna''s hands to help him as looking at what happened to their leader made him a bit more alert. Remus threw the pipe towards the former''s temple. The guy tried dodging, but it landed on his left eye instead! Looking at what happened, the other guy hesitated and in that moment of hesitation, Remus pounced at him! He delivered a kick to the leg the guy was using to stand up, which destroyed his posture. Then he punched him in the face, right on the nose. But instead of falling, the guy stood up. Scared out of his wits, he ran towards the door. Remus didn''t stop him and looked at the 3 left. Two of them looked at him while the one left, closed his eyes, covered his ears and crouched on the floor mumbling to himself. He was the only one who was not one of the people who followed the leader. He had come here, joining the flow, expecting to get a chance to abuse Ahenna after all the others were done with her! The two who looked at Remus were scared as well. They had seen him defeat 8 people who were much older than him, that too with precise attacks. They had seen their leader fall with one hit! They knew they couldn''t defeat him and from the look in Remus''s eyes, they could tell that he would not allow them to run away and thus decided to wait for him to deliver his punishment. Remus didn''t let go this chance. He took the pipe and delivered 3 consecutive strikes to the face of one of them! The other one received multiple strikes to the stomach. By now, Remus had regained a bit of his reasoning. He stopped and decided to leave the last one unhurt. He wanted him to explain what happened to Chen and the others. And he wanted to have as many people as possible, look at his state. He wanted everbody to know that this is what would happen to you, if you even thought about hurting Ahenna! Moments later, Chen and the servants came running in. They saw what happened and were shocked. Fortunately, they were able to understand what happened and didn''t say anything to Remus. Although some of them thought that what he did was a bit extreme, when they looked into his eyes, they decided to keep their thought to themselves. The incident came to an end. All the boys who tried to abuse Ahenna, were handed over to the police. Chen decided to let the police decided their punishment. Strangely, the incident didn''t have a negative effect on Ahenna. Rather, she started smiling and sticking to Remus even more. Looking at her expression, Remus became worried and asked if she was okay? As a reply, she smile and told him that the figure of him getting furious and beating up the bad guys for her sake was truly heroic. That her little brother was the best in the world! This caused him to think that she was a bit weird. Afterwards, their lives became peaceful once again. Until, Remus was now 13 years old. He was attending school as usual. On the sports day, he was participating in multiple events. This was going to be like any other sports day but this time, Ahenna, who was now 16 years old, was coming to watch him participate. This made him really excited! She, who went to an all girls school and held a position of responsibility, was never able to attend any events that happened in his school. But this time, she took special permission from her principal. And what happened was that with a brain filled with excitement, he performed a bit too well! He went ahead and won all the events he was competing in, with overwhelming ability. The students and teachers who saw this were left with open mouths. This, in turn caused most of them to think that Remus had been deceiving them. Although there was truth in what they thought, they took it a step ahead and started saying that he was conceited! That he was trying to play with their feelings. Remus, who had been doing this in fear of being isolated for being different, thought, this is was ridiculous! But it didn''t just stop there, a lot of his school friends started ignoring him. He would often find people talking about him and dissing him. There were people who got interested in him because of it as well, but Remus hated relationships based on such shallow traits. All this, caused Remus to hate anything related to physical activities at school. From then on, he started skipping school on physical examination and sports days. ....... Just when Remus was about to celebrate his 15th birthday, his life took another turn. Ahenna''s condition started deteriorating! She suddenly fell ill! Chen and Remus took her to the best doctors they could find, but none of them could pinpoint the cause for all this. She had to go through countless tests. They even took her abroad, in hopes of finding the cause and the cure for her condition! But all their efforts were in vain. They couldn''t find anything! After two months of going back and forth from hospitals, Ahenna decided to stop. When Remus asked for a reason, she said she wanted to live the remainder of her life at home, by his side. He tried his hardest to convince her to not give up! But she said that she was not giving up but accepting her fate. Remus stopped persuading her. A few days later, Chen died! He fell down the stairs and the wound to the head took his life on spot! A funeral was held. All the kids and servants cried. Remus and Ahenna cried for days. After they were done with the funeral, it was decided that, with the owner of the orphange gone, the orphanage would be closed down and all the kids would be shifted to other facilities. Surprisingly, Chen had left all his assets to Remus! Remus decided to keep half of it for himself and Ahenna and give the other half to all the other children. He used a part of that money to buy an apartment in a safe area and changed schools. Remus went to school and Ahenna stayed at home where a part-time maid took care of all her needs. " huh~ is this that ''your life flashes in front of your eyes before you die'' thing? But i am already dead! " Remus shouted. He was still in the white space. Although he couldn''t tell how much time had passed, it felt as if it had been hours. He was getting bored. " I thought a god would come to receive me after death. Is this it? Am i going to be here forever? " He was bored and clueless. When suddenly, " You are not dead you know. " 5. Beginning of adventure 2 Vince Argent. The third prince of the Mavok Kingdom. Not much is known about him. There are only a few things that the general public knows about him. Like, he is the son of the second queen Lashara who died a few years after giving birth to him, a taciturn prince who didn¡¯t go out much and that he is currently, Missing. An unprecedented event. The prince went missing a few weeks after his 10th birthday. An incident that created a good amount of stir in the kingdom. Some thought that it was the work of the neighboring Bridge Empire and some said that the first queen got rid of him at an early age to make it easier for her sons to take over the throne. Even after a search party consisting of knights and top quality adventurers searched for him for months, they could not find a single clue. Time passed and the talks died down. People slowly forgot that the kingdom even had a third prince. Love this novel? In a cave surrounded by a dense forest, Vince opened his eyes. ¡° haa~ ¡° (yawning) Getting out of his bed, made out of animal fur, he walked towards the entrance of the cave. Pushing aside the fur coat that acted as a wind barrier, he exited the cave and continued walking. Making his way towards a flowing stream, he took a bit of water and washed his face. Looking at the rising sun, he shouted. ¡° What a nice day! ¡° After having a meal consisting of fruits and a bit of roasted meat, he entered the dense forest. The forest had a countless number of deadly beasts. Just by stepping into the forest, Vince could feel a huge amount of gazes, filled with bloodlust and hunger. After reaching an area without trees, he stopped his feet and roared! ¡° COME! ¡° A hoard of monsters came rushing towards him from all directions. If he wanted to, he could kill all the monsters in this forest with a single thought, but he didn¡¯t do that. He wasn¡¯t here to show his dominance or to enjoy mindless slaughter, he was here to train his body. Yes, just his body. He threw away the thought of using his powers and pounced at the monsters. A few minutes later, The place was littered with corpses of countless monsters. Blood, broken bones and pieces of skin was all around him. Vince, stood in the middle of this hell, a solemn look on his face. There was not even a single drop of monster blood on his clothes. He rotated his right arm a few times. ¡° The time has finally come, huh. Well I guess this much will do. ¡° Avoiding the monster corpses, he made his way towards the cave. After taking a nice long bath in the stream, he wore a new pair of garments and entered the cave. This made Remus both sad and happy. Sad because he did not want her to worry about him so much and happy to know that she was worried about him. He extended his hand and patted her head. " Nothing really. Just wanted to mess with you. Haha!" Rita instantly lost her worried look and shouted in embarrassment. " What''s wrong with you?!" Remus could not help but laugh out loud!
