 Origin/Daybreak

    On a sunny morning in the middle of a research base in Arizona.


    The research base, or better known as Ara, was designed to study the very limits of human abilities and understanding.


    But this day was different, on March 3 of the year 2028, the old world collapsed, and a new world rose from its ashes


    Ara was having its annual bring your child to work day. And Rex was thrilled that his parents were bringing him instead of his older brother who could care less about anything other than gamming.


    The start of the day was as a typical tour would be, a bunch of adults explaining how their job functions.


    But Rex was never paying attention, for he heard a strange voice in his head. ''Come here'' it told him. This voice creeped him out, but it¡¯s not like he could make an outcry that he was hearing voices in his head. That would get him a one-way ticket to an insane asylum.


    The day continued, when suddenly they stopped in front of a lab door. On the door it read experimental room.


    The tour lady was still giving her extremely boring speech about how they will improve the world with their inventions. And soon she ushered them into the lab room, which held a ton of surprises. Inside the room was 9 long tables holding an object inside of a glass case.


    This is where everything would change.


    Rex felt the voices in his head grow louder as he got closer to the glass cases.


    The tour lady was explaining that these orbs were from an unknown dig site from a few years back and that the orbs seemed to be completely useless. They just sat there. But the only thing that they were able to find out was that the 9 orbs were completely indestructible by all human and machine interactions.


    They even demonstrated how strong these orbs were. They hammered it, ran it over, chemically dissected it, and even created a nuclear explosion to try to get rid of it, but none of these did the trick.Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent.     She then let everyone hold the orbs for a few seconds. Rex was the last in line to receive the orb.


    The orb had a sudden reaction when Rex touched it. The orb grew hot and melted into his hands, but this process was not painless. Rex screamed loudly, because it felt like insects were digging into his hands.


    The tour lady was shocked, because this was very bad. Since they could be sued for hurting a child.


    But time waits for no one.


    The orb that magically melted into his hands soon released a very reactive wave into the air. The wave had a water rippling look to it. The ripple was not small; in the matter of seconds the rippled had touched all ends of the world.


    The wave itself didn''t create a panic, because it became invisible as soon as it left the laboratory.


    This was not the end of this. Soon the other 8 orbs rose up and melted through the glass and into Rex''s body making him the center of another 8 ripples.


    When all 9 orbs finished melting into his body, which only took about 10 seconds, an implosion occurred. This implosion was like a small, weak black hole. It sucked Rex and 3 other children into a wormhole and closed after it sucked them in. The children were fine, but they blacked out.


    Inside the research base


    Everyone had a surprised look on their face as they watched the 4 kids disappear into thin air.


    Rex''s and the other three kid¡¯s parents went into hysteria. These were their flesh and blood children, disappearing into a suspicious wormhole, who wouldn¡¯t worry.


    But they were very intelligent, and soon got started on researching a way to bring them back. Realistically it was impossible, because they had never left in the first place.


    The rest of the world


    Soon people discovered that they had supernatural powers like flight and super-strength. People rose up and conquered those who didn''t have powers.


    The ratio of those who had extraordinary powers and those who didn''t was 1:10,000.


    The ratio of those with powers and those who didn''t was 1:100.


    But most of people¡¯s powers where completely useless in combat.


    People with extreme powers conquered whole states and sectors of a country. New country¡¯s and alliances were formed overnight and soon even the geography of the world changed. The world expanded by an unknown degree. New continents soon formed from the increase in lava at the earth¡¯s core.


    But peaceful times never last, because the biggest change wasn''t the planet or even the humans. It was the beasts. Monsters that should have died millions of years ago soon rose up from the soil with skin so tough that nuclear bombs would have no effect. Animals that already existed gained unimaginable strength. Farm animals that humans raised soon revolted against them.


    Animals took back a lot of the forest and wild areas from the humans.


    The humans believed that their new powers where a god send, but soon they will know that even with their powers, they will still be powerless for what¡¯s to come.

 Chapter 2: Fairy

    Wake up


    Wake up


    WAKE UP!


    That¡¯s all I heard, everything else was silent. I knew what that sound was. It was my alarm going off at full blast.


    It was a trivial alarm


    But then I remembered that I was sucked into a wormhole that came from my palm.


    What does the future hold for me is what I really want to know, but what the present had for me was what I was going to get.


    I slowly opened my eyelids.


    Everything looks like a typical dungeon setting. Cave like walls, a ceiling, and a staircase leading down.


    And on the ground next to me were 3 other children.


    Confusing? Just a little.


    The first kid had red hair, bulky lips, small forehead, and a miniscule body.


    The second kid had blonde hair, small lips, and was probably a female.


    The third kid had navy blue hair, wide hips, and a pretty face.


    There was only one thing I didn¡¯t describe: their nose.


    None of them had a nose, and shockingly when I felt my face, I didn¡¯t have a nose either.


    The thought that hit me fist was, ¡®How was I breathing without a nose¡¯.


    Not long after I had woken up.

    The first kid was a feminine looking boy


    The second and third kid were girls


    And obviously I was a boy.


    ¡°Don¡¯t start talking nonsense. This here is a dungeon and I am the magical being who is going to explain to you weak, pathetic humans how a dungeon works.¡±


    ¡°First off, the chances of you children surviving is 75%, which is higher than expected. This area right here is a safe zone. Nothing can kill you in a safe zone, and monsters can¡¯t come here. Two, rest areas appear after every floor, you can sleep, eat, and test your abilities here.¡±


    ¡°Now to a more fun topic. Leveling: after defeating a monster you can gain exp. I put in can because it¡¯s not a guarantee that you will get any.¡± {fairy}


    ¡°That seems very simple and easy to understand¡± {blonde girl}


    ¡°SHUT UP. Nothing is simple in a dungeon. I don¡¯t care to explain much about this dungeon, so figure it out on your own. Now time to hand out the congratulatory gifts. I have eight cards in my hand. Each card holds a special OP power. Of course, you won¡¯t know what you got till you flip the card over. We¡¯ll go in order of who I expect to die first. Blondie, Redy, Bluey, and Crystal kid.¡± {fairy}


    From the way she said it, it sounded like I had the highest chance of survival.


    When everyone got their card we slowly turned it over and were shocked with how overpowered these cards were.


    My cards were very simple.


    I got death touch and siphoning grasp.


    Death touch


    By using a little mana, death touch can destroy an object almost instantly. This ability scales on the amount of strength stat the user has.


    Siphoning grasp


    By using a little mana, user can steal health from others. Excessive use on others can cause them to turn to dust. This ability scales on the Ability stat the user has.


    These were some overpowered abilities I had.


    ¡°Hehe, do you kids think that¡¯s overpowered? Well jokes on you, everything has a drawback and counter. For example, if I have an ability that allows me to burn anything I touch with mana, it sounds overpowered, but let¡¯s say the monster is extremely fast and uses ranged attacks. Do you think it¡¯s going to let me get close? No. So then my ability is useless. Also, my card can accidently burn my allies to. Also, losing to much mana can cause headaches and dizziness. And in extreme cases it can cause someone to faint.¡± {fairy}


    ¡°Oh, and just so you know, everyone has 6 basic stats. These stats are Strength, Ability, Defense, MagDefense, Speed, and Body. These are easy to understand, except for the Body stat. The Body stat increases appearance, vision, hearing, and resistance to everything. Well, good luck. Oh, if you¡¯re looking for a way out then you have to climb to the 50<sup>th</sup> floor.¡± {fairy}


    And that was all we saw of the fairy.

 Chapter 3: First kill

    It was silent for a few seconds.


    That was the fairy¡¯s way of explaining this area and a few useful subjects.


    Was it useful? No.


    Just like the alarm that information was almost trivial.


    ¡°Well that not what I expected¡± {Redy}


    ¡°What did you expect¡± {Rex/Crystal}


    ¡°I thought she would explain how to navigate these caverns or explain why they are called dungeons. I guess its what you would expect from a typical dungeon novel.¡± {Redy}


    There were five caverns. Each cavern had a symbol and number over it.


    ¡°Based on my understanding of original dungeon ideas. The symbols represent what we should expect to see, and the number is the amount of people or difficulty level of each cave.¡± {Bluey}


    ¡°Well see you guys later. I hate teaming and I feel like you guys aren¡¯t worth partnering up with¡±. {Blondie}


    Blondie left for the first door with a giant leaf symbol over it.


    When Blondie entered the first door, it shined and disappeared.


    Redy and Bluey decided to team up and leave Rex behind.


    They left through the door with a brain over it.


    I wasn¡¯t mad that they left me, but its kind of sad to think that they didn¡¯t want to group with me.


    I went to the door with the number 4 over it. The symbol was that of a blood red dragon.


    The moment I walked close to the door a light blinded me. It didn¡¯t hurt, but it was slightly annoying. I mean it was very bright, but it only last for a mere second. What appeared next was a surprise to even me. It was a valley filled red bushes. Creatures that looked like rats were everywhere.This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road.     These rats were very special. They were huge. Most were the size of a cow. Some were only the size of a big dog.


    To be truthful, I was very scared. An army of giant rats, how original.


    Soon a monotone voice sounded out.


    ¡°Challenger Rex has entered the fire dragon¡¯s dungeon.


    Difficulty 4


    Tier 2 dungeon


    Player is under leveled


    Assistance is given


    Infinite mana, Map, and radar have been given to Rex as assistance.


    Rewards have been multiplied by 10, due to soloing the dungeon made for 10.


    Commence Operation.¡± {Monotone voice}


    I activated my Death touch, just to test out my power.


    Crouching down I slowly crept to the nearby rat. Over the head of the rat was the level 50 in orange letters, but who cares about some useless numbers when I can destroy body parts almost instantly.


    When I was a few feet from the rat, I jumped out and touched the rats neck. It wasn¡¯t even able to scream before its neck and head were blown off.


    I received a meager prize of 30 gold coins, which should have been 3 coins, and 10,000 exp.


    Before anything changed, I received a message asking If I would like a tutorial.


    Of course, I clicked yes. Why would I click no?


    ¡°Tutorial activated. Checking memory banks of user. Optimizing tutorial. Optimizing system.


    To see your stats, say menu. To see your inventory, say inventory. You can deposit and withdraw coins, monster parts, and other useless item that cross your mind. Warning: You cannot store living beings.


    Every 10 stat points is equal to 1 adult male. User can upgrade a skill every 10 levels. Upgrading skills have varying results. Test them out when you have time.

    Soon I heard a ding sound. This was the sound of my level rising. My level stopped at 26.

    My stats were very bland, but it seems like I was as strong as 3 adult males.


    I decided that I should upgrade both of my abilities once.


    Death Touch Lv2: Death bolt has been created


    Death bolt creates a bolt of pure death that disintegrates an area hit by the bolt.


    Siphoning grasp Lv2: Regen has been created


    Regen allows user to drain the life force of living creatures allowing one to regain health and repair the body. Can only be used on dead creature if that creature was killed less than a minute ago.


    It seemed like I got 2 awesome abilities to use.


    My journey to clear the first floor has started.

 Chapter 4 Sub-boss

    Slowly getting up, I checked my surroundings with the radar. It showed a total of 238 small dots and 3 large dots.


    ¡°Mmmmm¡­ Looks like I have a lot of work to do¡± {Rex}


    I spent the next 5 hours firing Death bolts. I had infinite mana, so it was not like I was going to run out anytime soon.


    Something I noticed was that mana was not listed under my stats. It was almost as if it didn¡¯t exist.

    I left the 3 big dots alone, but to be more accurate I couldn¡¯t find them. Even when I was standing on them.


    20 minutes later I had finished killing 230 rats. All that were left were 8 rats and 3 mystery monsters.


    ¡°Notification Sub-boss has spawned.


    Baby fire Dragon has awakened.

    Proceed with caution.¡± {Monotone voice}


    A low roar resounded through the area after the Monotone voice left.


    I didn¡¯t need to guess what that was, but something did make me wonder. Why did a dungeon for dragons have mice in them? I would have expected a ton of dragons.


    I digress.


    The baby dragons had a much higher lv than me.


    They were level 120.


    And each of them had 4 rats following them. It could be inferred that they were helping the dragons.


    What surprised me the most was that the dragons seem to know where I was.


    Like any sane person would, I dashed back into the valley to prepare my Death bolts.The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.


    Aiming the Death bolts was easy, but that didn¡¯t mean I would hit the target. The dragons were a good wake up call, because the rats never dodged my bolts. When I shot my Death bolts, the dragon simply sidestepped it and continued to chase me.


    It was completely frustrating to watch.


    I never had good stamina, but it seemed like my stamina increased as I leveled up. Just like mana, stamina wasn¡¯t listed there either.


    The level difference was obvious. The fire dragons caught up to me at break neck speeds. This time I landed a death bolt, but I hit one of the surrounding rats.


    The rat¡¯s head disintegrated into nothing. This was the turning point of the fight, because it stunned the dragons long enough for me to shoot 2 more. These 2 death bolts were more accurate. They hit the first fire dragons leg and wing. This caused it to fall over in distress. Most humans would stay down after having their leg and arm destroyed, but this wasn¡¯t a human.


    It slowly got up unsteady on its three feet and chased me with a renewed passion. The other baby dragon seemed to be scared senseless. It ran away with the remaining rats the moment it awakened from its trance. The dragon was surprisingly a coward.


    I, of course started running again, while charging up another death bolt.


    The baby dragon knew what it needed to do. It stopped, sucked in all the air around it and roared a ferocious roar. The roar seemed to have affected me in a negative way, because I wasn¡¯t able to move.


    A little box on the edge of my vision was flashing with red letters, ¡®You are stunned, stun last for 3 seconds¡¯.


    This scared me, because the baby dragon would be upon me in three seconds. The baby dragon started moving faster in my direction. Only 2.5 seconds had passed before the dragon had open its mouth to swallow me whole.


    I would never allow it to kill me in this pitiful manner.


    The stun wore of right before he closed his mouth.


    CRUNCH


    This was the sound of it biting off my right arm.


    I quickly swung my left arm filled with death touch at its eye.


    BOOM


    The dragons right eye and brain turned to dust.


    It could be called scary, but it truly wasn¡¯t as scary as it is ripping my right arm off.


    Ding. Ding. Ding


    I knew what that sound meant. It meant that my level was rising. It stopped at level 50.

    I quickly put 2 out of 3 of my skill points into Siphoning grasp.


    Siphoning grasp lv2 ¨¤ Siphoning grasp lv3 ¨¤ Siphoning grasp lv4


    Siphoning grasp lv3 is now able to regen lost limbs.


    Siphoning grasp lv4 is now able to steal the souls of other living beings to act as shields. Shields are not based on the amount of souls one has collected, but the quality is what really matters.


    I quickly used Siphoning grasp on the dead dragon.


    When I used it, the dragons body seemed to grow smaller and smaller.


    My right arm was slowly regenerating to its former form.


    I would say im glad that my right arm is back, but regening it was not painless. I was also light headed, because it didn¡¯t replenish blood.


    When I finished draining the dragon of all its energy and soul, 10 chests were shown in my inventory.


    I couldn¡¯t open it because of a system notification.


    ¡°Would you like to play the tip video.¡± {Monotone voice}


    Just like all the other tutorials, I accepted.

 Chapter 5: Reaper

    ¡°System updating. User has hit Lv 50. Tutorial has started.


    Every 50 levels, the user can opt to gain a class. Classes provide stat boost and ability upgrades. There are also hidden classes that requires certain requirements to be fulfilled. Class changes can be started anywhere. First open menu, then say class change. It¡¯s very simple.

    I quickly open my menu and checked the classes that I could choose from.


    Reaper<>


    Description: Use the souls of fallen victims to empower your attacks.


    Gains soul slasher.


    Gains 20 natural strength and speed but lowers the scaling of ability stat by half.


    Dragon slayer


    Description: Use the power of the dragons to burn and decimate your targets.


    Gains 20 strength. Learns flame breath. Unable to survive in extremely cold environments. Chances of decreased stats in cold weather. Gains Dragon slash.


    Lich


    Description: Command the dead to maul your enemies.


    Gains 20 ability and Magic Defense. Gains the ability to summon low level skeletons.


    I thought long and hard, but I couldn¡¯t seem to figure out what would be the best class. The reaper and lich classes are very powerful, but low-level skeleton won¡¯t be able to stop a baby dragon.


    Dragon slayer sounds like a good class, but I don¡¯t want to die from being unable to move in cold weather. Kind of unfortunate that it comes with such a heavy stat destroyer.


    I decided that the only logical choice would be the reaper class.

    Soul Slasher is an ability that can kill the souls of the enemies. Soul is only stolen if the enemy is killed with soul slasher. Power is increased depending on how many souls have been collected

    I still had 1 more skill point left.


    My stats were coming along very nicely.


    At this moment I remembered that I had 10 unopened chests. I hadn¡¯t forgotten about the chest. Instead of opening them 1 by 1, I clicked the open 10x button.


    My inventory flickered with golden light. When the light died down, 10 new items were in my inventory.


    6 out of 10 items were the unmistakable potion that appeared in every video game about dungeons. 3 out of the remaining 4 was garbage. It had the title garbage. It wasn¡¯t even given a proper name. The last item was a spectacular blade.


    I wasn¡¯t going to overestimate my abilities by trying to fight dragons with a sword, because I knew nothing about how to wield or use a sword.


    I slowly got up from the ground. The ground wasn¡¯t in a better situation than I was. The ground was tore up and bloody from the dying dragon.


    There wasn¡¯t much to look at, so I left the area to rest. The other baby dragon was hiding out in a cave not too far from here.


    After resting on a tree for 30 minutes, I got up and proceed to were the other baby dragon was hiding out. The remaining rats were guarding the entrance of the cave.


    I quickly sniped the 6 rats before they could figure out what happened. It wasn¡¯t very hard since I was the same level with them. The cave seemed like a bad place to fight a baby dragon. The problem is that I have nothing to draw it out with.


    Suddenly, I had a very nefarious idea. Since I had infinite mana, that means I could fire death bolts all day with out running out of mana.


    I spent the next 20 minutes shooting Death bolts into the cave before the notification rang that the dragon had been slayed. I didn¡¯t receive anything from killing this dragon.


    ¡°Main boss has spawned.


    Mega dragon has spawned.


    Proceed with caution.¡± {Monotone voice}


    I was excited to fight my first boss monster, but it made me dejected when I found out that the monster was on the other side of the map.


    What made me even sadder was that it was covering that distance quickly. I barely had any time to rest before the dragon was right in front of me.


    I fired my death bolts nonstop at the dragon, but they seem to have no effect even when I hit him.


    ¡°Hmmmm. How do I kill it then?¡± {Rex}


    That was a Lv 180 dragon that could kill me by stepping on me. The only thing that thrilled me was that the dragon wasn¡¯t a fire breathing one.


    I ran into the cave that hosted the previous baby dragon.


    I checked my inventory for anything that could be useful when I came upon a stunning description of the spectacular sword.


    Spectacular sword


    Has extra penetration against dragons.


    Any monster that touches the blade will be poisoned, dealing a percentage of dmg. Poison effect can be stacked.


    I quickly equipped the Spectacular sword.


    The sword was golden and was about 2 feet long with a pointed tip. It gleamed in its own, even when I¡¯m inside this dark cave.


    I waited patiently until the dragon was right outside the cave.


    I ran outside and slashed its front left leg and ran under it.


    The dragon wailed loudly as it tried to get away. I used my sword again to stab into it. The dragon quickly rose up, dragging me and the sword with it.


    It attempted to throw me off by doing elaborate sky tricks. The dragon was unsuccessful, but the wind was slowly killing me.


    I knew I would be dead long before the poison killed it. I started using my siphoning grasp to recover my health. This was a lot faster than the poison. The changes in the dragon were very visible after I started draining it, and after 30 minutes it finally fell from the air and died.


    I was elated on how easy that was.

 summary of the first book

    After killing the dragon, Rex uses the spetacular sword to slay his way up to the 5th floor.


    On the fifth floor, the other 3 unlucky inviduals were silently waiting for Rex.


    They team up to slay the giant minotaur.


    During the fight they learn that Blondie is not completly human anymore.


    The fight continues and the minotaur is nearly slain, when it launches a swift attack on Blondie, nearly killing her.


    To save Blondie, Rex uses a rare potion he found from the dead body of the dragon.


    The minotaur is slain with the combined attack from Blondie and Rex.


    The door opens to reveal more dungeons.


    Bluey and Redy decide to split up due to an argument about loot.


    Blondie joins Rex on his adventure to climb to the 50th floor.


    6 years later.


    Blondie and Rex have both ascended to the  35th floor.


    There they meet up with the rest.


    They diligently enter the immortal ravens nest.


    Contrary to what they were expecting the raven does not want to fight.


    It simply says that it would waste their time since he is immortal.


    The raven signs a contract with Blondie due to special reasons not stated by the crow.

    The group is forced to ascend a flight of stairs that leads them to a grand door.


    The fairy reluctantly comes out and informs them that this is the 50th floor.


    She explains that an error had occured in the tower and she is unable to send them down.


    The group suits up and enters the 50th floor boss room.


    The room is empty except for the giant chair in the middle of the room.


    Bluey walks up and sits on the chair and loudly declairs that she is the final boss.


    She states that after they defeated the boss on the 5th floor, he crept in and stole Bluey''s body.


    She also explains that the tower is losing its hold over the creatures and will soon let them out to wreak havoc all over the world.


    Sensing that they would not agree with {her}, Bluey pulls out a sword made from diamond.


    The battle is long and hard fought.


    The 3 wanders soon find themselves in a predicament as Bluey is to strong for them.


    Blondie pulls out the immortal raven and fuses with it, giving her god-like abilities.


    Blondie fights Bluey alone.


    Blondie pins Bluey and tells Rex to deliver the final blow.


    Rex combines his Death touch and Siphoning grasp to create Origin Destroyer.


    The attack successfully lands and Blondie and Bluey lay dead on the ground.


    Rex mourns the death of his companion, while Redy is unfazed by their death.


    A bell goes off signaling that they have completed the 50 floor.


    On the buffer zone before the 51st floor, the fairy is silently waiting for their arrival.


    When they get there, the fairy explains that it was highly unlikly that they would win that fight. She goes into great detail about how the tower is an entity that contains a life force. She explains that this life force is drying up and soon the barrier protecting their world will be gone.


    Once the barrier is down, monsters from other dimensions known as demons will invade Earth.


    She predicts that it will take 20 years before that happens.


    The 2 silently listen to her long explanation. Redy soon ask how do we save Earth.


    Fairy tells that they need to find the 3 chaos and soveriegn treasures.


    To celebrate their victory the fairy hands them 2 devices that will help them locate the lost treasures.


    She points to left where a door suddenly appears.


    She tells them that this door will lead you out, but you can always comeback to the tower. You just have to think of the doorway.


    Redy hurries through the door, while Rex turns around and sends one last prayer to his dead comrade.


    Rex soon leaves through the portal.


    Unknown to all the them that Blondie''s and Bluey''s bodies slowly disappear as if they were never there.


    Rex exits the portal 4 years later.


    10 years was the last time he saw earth.


    And waiting for him on the other side were his parents.
