《When Time No Longer Is Limited》 Chapter 1: On This Planet, Time is a Limited Resource Time, One of the most precious resources that exist. Everybody wants more of it. But it''s impossible to get more time. Everybody gets a different amount of time, and you have to spend it wisely. But what if you could do something to get more time? I slowly open my eyes to get greeted by a clock staring at me. I focus my eyes on what the clock says, 07:30. Oh no! School starts at 08:00, I''m going to be late at this rate. I rise up in my messy room to look for my clothes. I push some things down while walking to my wardrobe. I quickly open it and drag out some clothes that I think are "good enough". I dress while speed-walking out of my room. I stare for a couple of seconds atthe door leading to my mom''s room. Well, she''s not really my mom. My biological parents died when I was little, I barely remember them so it doesn''t bother me as much as people think. I shake my head and continue to walk. I hear some car noises outside, and a loud screaming noise from our living room. Geez, can''t she calm down!? It''s time for school soon, doesn''t she realize that? I''m midway through the stairs when I hear "You Idiot!!!!!". I''m used to that kind of language so I just continue walking. But I notice something strange, all the sounds I heard before are suddenly gone. I stand a bit confused. I look around me quickly and notice a thing right next to me. A magazine is right next to my head, but it''s also floating in the air. This didn''t solve my confusion, instead it made it more intense. Behind the magazine, I see my sister completely frozen in a throwing pose with an open mouth. As an impulse, I walk down a couple of steps. Immediately when I do that, the magazine flies into the wall with terrifying force and all the noises resume. Including my screaming sister. I just stare at the magazine, now on one of the steps. But I quickly remember what I was doing and run down the stairs. I enter the living room with haste. I look my sister in the eye and scream "What the hell are you doing, Elin!? It''s almost time for school and you sit here and scream and throw things at your brother!?" Elin stands up and puts her arms in a cross. She walks up to me and starts talking "School? What school?" I gaze at her face with a troubled face. I say "You know, the thing we do almost every day. The thing that also starts in." I quickly look at a clock that is behind Elin. "07:40!!!! I''m going to be so late!". Elin looks at my distressed face with a calm and reserved look. "You really are a stupid brother. It''s Saturday today! What the hell did you think it was?" Elin says. I quickly pull a confused look and run to the table to look at my phone. I open my phone and stare dumbfoundedly at the date, it really was Saturday today. I slowly put my phone back on the table. I then lay myself down on the sofa and stare up at the ceiling. I let out a sigh as I feel defeated, but nonetheless happy. "Good grief, how could you mess that up!?" Elin says mockingly. "Oh, shut up. How about we have you wake up to a big "07:30" staring at your face. If only I could''ve woken up at 6 am." I respond. "You really stay true to your philosophy, don''t you?" Elin says a bit more quietly. This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work. Ah yes, my philosophy. My philosophy is basically that time is very precious to me. More precious than money. To use the time I have in the best way I have decided to spend every second towards something that will benefit me. I try my best to live by this rule. "Of course!" I respond brightly. I then continue with "Well then, I''d better go do something productive then. See you." I turn around and start walking towards my room, behind me I hear Elin mumble "idiot". I walk to my room with heavy and tired steps. That was only natural, I did go to sleep at 2 am. I turn on the lights at my desk and start drawing. "It''s lunch!" I hear my mom scream from downstairs. The past 4 hours I''ve been doing a mixture of drawing and studying for school. I can feel my stomach screaming for food so I run to the dining table. I skipped breakfast today because I thought there were more important things to do. As I run into the kitchen I get greeted by a heavy sigh and a slightly disappointed mom. I look at her in confusion. "What are you wearing?" Mom says and points at my legs with a flustered face. "You''re not wearing any pants!". I look down at my legs and chuckle a little bit. I say "Well, I did have pants on before when I thought it was school today. But later when I started working I felt very uncomfortable because of my pants so I took them off. Besides, It doesn''t really matter. We''re family, right?" Mom almost teared up after hearing "We''re family right?". I stare at mom''s face almost tearing up super confused. I say "If you feel that strongly about it I can go and put on so----" I''m interrupted by an embarrassed sister screaming "Why don''t you have pants on!?" "Do I really have to explain it again" I quickly mumble to myself. "You even had pants on this morning, what happened?" Elin asks. I sigh and say "I thought it was uncomfortable so I took them off." "Y-You pervert!" Elin says and runs up to me and tries to punch me. "You know your 15-year-old strength doesn''t hurt, right?" I say. "What!? You''re only a year older than me aren''t you?" Elin says and continues. I face-palm and turn around to mom. I say "Could I get my food now?" "Yeah, sure" Mom says brightly. I take a quick glance at a clock. "Oh No! I''ve wasted 15 minutes here!" I say. I run up to the counter and quickly grab my food. While I run, I hear a lot complaining from a specific person in the background. Suddenly, I trip on a toy ball next to the staircase. I witness my food and glass of water falling. But again, all sound stops and I see my food and glass frozen in the air. The same thing happened this morning. I had dismissed the thing that happened this morning as a hallucination because I was tired. But now when it has happened twice, I''m beginning to think that''s not the case. Could it be that I''ve... Stopped time? I looked around me to observe what''s happening. Maybe I''ve read too much manga, but that seems to be the most logical option. Awesome! Now I''ll be able to do so much stuff using my time efficiently, technically I won''t be using any time at all. With a strong smile on my face, I pick up the food and the glass of water that were floating. I start walking, but immediately I hear the complaining voice again. I look around and everything''s moving again. What!? Why did everything move again? How am I supposed to save time now? Slightly depressed, I walk to my room and spend the rest of the day preparing for a math test on Monday. Chapter 2: When Your Hopes Fail You Sunday! Sunday is "training-day". As the name implies, it''s the day I spend training to keep myself from becoming being fat, like I was a while ago. I wake up in my bed at 6:45. Yes! The earlier I wake up, the more time I get. Full of excitement, I run to my wardrobe and pull out some training clothes. It''s so quiet right now. While I walk towards my bed to dress up I hurt my toe on my desk. I sit down on my bed and inhale and exhale heavily as a result of the pain. I quickly put on my clothes and stare at a drawer for a couple of seconds. I then grab a watch that was lying on top of the drawer. A treasured watch that I''d gotten years ago when I moved into this household. With swift movements, I navigate across the room and got out. Once again, I''m greeted by Mom''s door. To the right of Mom''s room is Elin''s room. Both of their doors are closed, which means that they''re still sleeping. Well, I expected no less from those two. I run down the stairs, through the living room and kitchen and then I run down another couple of stairs. When I''m in the basement I run up to a pillow lying on the floor in the room left to the staircase. I pull up a yellow folder containing a final draft of a chapter for my manga. I''ve been drawing a manga for a monthly magazine for a while now. I started the manga at the beginning of this year, I''ve been keeping it a secret from my family. Mostly because I don''t really see a reason to tell them. I always drop the chapter off on a Sunday, So I decided to do it today. The manga is usually at the top in the popularity polls. I also write a web-novel that''s pretty popular. Of course, I do all this as a hobby. It''s nice to get the extra money and it''s pretty fun. I run outside really quick so that no one wakes up and sees me. Once outside, I look around the neighborhood to check what''s going on. Like always Eleonora, a neighbor whose house is in front of ours, is up and gardening. If I recall correctly, she''s a third-year at my high school. Wow, to think that she''s 2 years older than me. She''s looking at me with a strange look on her face, I just smile and start to run. I''m running towards the forest west of our house, it''s unusually quiet today. The wind calmly blows at me as the sun is rising up in the horizon. At the corner of the street Akane, a classmate of mine, is standing and staring at me. Akane''s heart beats faster and faster the closer I get. Slightly flustered Akane says Like usual, I''m not doing too good in the social department. The office where I drop off my chapter is on the other side of the woods. On the other side of the forest, there is a road. On the other side of the road, there is a bunch of buildings, including the "manga office". Oh, yeah I have to put on my disguise. I put on a scarf and pull my hood up. The building is a pretty big one, it''s 5 stories tall. The editorial room is on the 3rd floor. I struggle to open the entrance door, I usually push but it says clearly on the side that you''re supposed to pull. As I walk in I feel the air conditioner blow in my face almost blowing the scarf off my head. "Mr. Kentarou if you''re here to leave this month''s chapter in, Ms. Maria is waiting for you in the editorial staff room." "Thanks" I replied with. I take a right to walk up the stairs. I run up the stairs as fast as I could. The editorial room is big but feels pretty cramped thanks to all the desks in the room. In the back of the room I notice a familiar smile, it''s Maria. Maria has long black hair and is a very mistress-type of lady. She has a sadistic side and a sweet side. She has brown eyes and a seductive smile. She''s also quite "well-developed" in her chest area. She waves her hand towards me and I do the same thing. I try to navigate the cramped room and finally make it to her desk. "Good day Maria, I have this month''s chapter here with me." I say to her. Her smile widens as I hand her the folder containing the final draft. She opens the folder up and reads through the chapter. After my legs get tired after 13 minutes of standing up, she finally finishes reading the chapter. Maria stares at the last page in awe. I get a bit worried that it might not be good so I say This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source. "Sorry about that." I said and chuckled a bit. After talking some more with Maria I leave the office to go work out in the forest. Kentarou Mizuya is the name I chose to use as my pen name. I don''t really have an inspiration for the name, but I chose the "Mizuya" part because it kind of sounds like "Miss yah" in a Japanese accent. I kind of regret it now, but when I started high school this year I thought it was genius. To think that Maria really liked my manga, I guess all those years I spent drawing and writing paid off in the end. I had decided to use that strange ability I got yesterday to stop time and then I have as much time as I want. I stand in the middle of the forest trying to figure out how you activate it, that strange time-stopping ability. I sit down on a branch after a couple of hours of trying to activate the damn thing, at least I got a lot of exercise trying. Why the hell isn''t it working? It happened twice yesterday, so why isn''t it working now? After struggling a bit more with activating it, I decide to just exercise like normal for today. I run around the forest for about 5 hours until I finally decide to go home. While running home, I felt a certain anger inside of me. The sky had turned dark, a big contrast to the welcoming sun I had seen this morning. Big clouds started surrounding me and not too long after it started raining like crazy. I felt my wet shirt rubbing against my body, an annoying feeling if I might add. After a solid 5 minutes, I reach my street while breathing like I''d just run a marathon. Generally, I had pretty good physique so I could handle running for a hot minute. Sweating like crazy, I reached our front door. It was kind of a strange feeling, both sweating and being covered in the cold rain at the same time. When I entered the house I got greeted by two staring eyes, namely Elin''s eyes. "No, it''s nothing. Elin is just freaking out about weird things, like my shirt being see-through thanks to the rain." I tiredly responded. After exercising the whole day I was pretty tired. Mom was staring at my stomach, pretty intensely. I scratch my head in confusion and say Water falls down to the floor creating a splash sound. I can feel her boobs sitting lightly on my back and her breathing down my neck. I say Katrin gets flustered and tries to say something before getting interrupted by Elin. As usual, she yells at me for a bit until she leaves in anger. After that, the night progresses like it usually does. I go to bed at 2 am with a grin on my face.
