《Iverson's Pillar》
Unarmed
Hands stretched out across, a young boy''s arms tremble as they attempted to lift his body up from the clumpy muddy ground. His body fell crashing into the bug-ridden soil.
"Where the hell am I?" he muttered to himself.
''The last thing I remember was... Ahh being hit by a car, but where am I now, what is this place and...''
"WHY CAN''T I GET UP!"
During the young boy''s frustration about his inability to do the most simple thing, he could imagine, standing up, a whip of air slashed down like the tip of a tornado onto his frail back.
"AHHH!" his face quickly went from frowning and scrunched up like a student''s failed essay into a broken man who just saw his wife cheating on him.
"What the hell was that... OWW fuck that hurt!"
He flipped his body round thanks to the adrenaline that was coursing through his veins. Only to find a letter cased in gold lining with a red stamp on it quoting ''SYSTEM certified delivery; The best mail service in the universe.''
Shocked by the sudden ''post from the sky'' the young boy scrambled towards it, assuming it was going to give him some answers, he tore open the top slip.
But in his extreme impatience incurred the wrath which every human despairs of... the PAPER CUT.
Blood started shooting out of the tip of his finger, and a single tear drooped from his left eye.
''Rest in peace my little friend, but I must fight on to find out where the hell I am.''
He stared at his delicate, petite finger taking a moment''s silence at his inability to use it for the next couple of hours or, in the worst of nightmares, possibly days.
After honouring his finger, he proceeded to open up the letter CAREFULLY.
"To Mr Iverson
I''m sorry to inform you that you passed away.
Don''t worry though you''re in safe hands, apart from the fact that we transported your new body to wrong place which is home to many foul and hungry beast which would happily eat your calcium-rich bones."
To black hole-like bags were starting to form under each of his eyes which began glazing over and his breath quickened.
"But like I said don''t worry, the SYSTEM has your back, so for our misdeeds, we have gifted you some extra points to put into your stats."
"What do you mean points! tell me where I am!"
"Now you may be thinking ''what do you mean points?'' Well, you see in the world you are in the system has allowed all the races access to
improve their innate abilities."
"Oh No, My family god what must they be going through, why couldn''t I just follow the green cross code!"
"Now everyone starts with innate abilities, be it magic or racial traits and the like..."
"WAIT! Magic! Oh, my bloody god. You know what I''m sure my family doing fine, they''ll get some money from my life insurance."
"So to access your STATUS think to yourself status. It''s quite simple really. So now you know what you need to do to make yourself stronger I''ll leave the rest to you."
Good luck,
SYSTEM Administrator #02384
"Hold up a second; I have no clue where I am or what to do: how to survive, cook, fight or have any underlying survival abilities!"
The boy''s eyebrow''s furrowed making deeps wrinkles into his forehead and his lips pursed together looking scarily similar to a cats arse.
''Guess I''ll take a look at the status.''
*Welcome to your STATUS screen*
*It seems to be your first time using STATUS, so I''ll tell what to do; Everone has the stats:
Strength
Dexterity
Constitution
Intelligence and
Charisma
But some races have specific traits, and unique people have magic abilities such as
Earth
WaterIf you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.
Fire
And so on
Because you are incredibly unique as you have been pulled from another world, you get to choose your magic traits. *

*Beep*
*Dexterity determines your ability to move, your speed and agility and overall skillfulness.*
''Ok, then what about intelligence?''
*Beep*
*Intelligence determines your ability to store, hold and access the information you have learnt as well as the amount of mana you have*
''What about magic then?''
*beep*
*Your ability in magic varies from type of to type of magic; You might be able to use fire magic with fire magic being at a score of 30, but you might also be able to use lightning magic with a score of 10*
''So how can I choose my magic?''
*You don''t get to choose! you are given a magic type randomly by the SYSTEM by selecting the magic option*
''That a bit unfair considering you dropped me in the middle of fucking nowhere!''
*Lifes unfair get over it*
Veins started enflaming underneath Michael''s skin. A mixture of blue and green lines webbed outwards from his eyes.

"Wait NO! How do I use magic! Don''t leave me yet."
''God damn it, no System damn it.''
Michael started darting his eyes around the forest, colourful flowers and thick trees bedazzled his eyes, and he almost caught being mesmerised until he snapped out the illusion that he was safe.
''They said that it was a dangerous forest, so I better learn how to use my magic and quick.''
Michael sat down cross-legged, He started breathing deeply into his stomach, which expanded in and out, his body was shaking, and his eyelids were flittering.
"Ahhhhhhhhh come on!"
"AH ah AH ah ah AH."
''I''m going to shit myself at this rate.''
After a couple more shouts and attempts Michael finally gave up at magic.
"If I can''t wield magic, then I might as well search for a way out of the forest, or at least find a water source."
*Swshhh*
A large cylinder like creature flew out of one the nearby shrubbery baring it''s two 6 inch fangs at Michael''s right shoulder.
Hearing the breaking of twigs behind him, Michael glanced back only to find the head of a cyclopse snake shooting towards him showing off its fangs.
Thanks to him twisting his body quickly the snake only dug one fang into his right bicep and ripped through it.
"Ahhhhhh fuck!"
Michael screamed in anguish as blood oozed out of his shredded arm, staining the dirt under his feet.
The snake was already on course to attack him again, coiling into a loaded spring position, it whipped its massive body, which was as broad a runner rug, towards Michael.
But this time he was ready, ready to run that is.
With his right arm hanging on by a thread of skin and muscle, he jetted away from his predator, who was viciously flicking its tongue around the air.
He violently pushed his legs forward, forgetting the pain of his, as adrenaline pushed his body through thickets of bushes and branches scaring his body with markings of lashes.
His eyes slowly started going black, and he realised that he was losing too much blood from the wound on his arm, he turned back to only to his dismay to find the snake closing up the gap between them.
Adrenaline wearing off his breath started going raggedly, and his legs gave up on him.
Collapsing to the ground, his back against the mud, staring towards the sky thinking of his previous life, his parents, his sister and his friends.
He smiled, not a smile of happiness but one of pain.
attempting to think of better things, Michael cried under his breath
"Man, I was running fast then, at least three times faster than when I was on earth."
He started crying then stopped coughed up some blood and tears once again drew lines across his skeletal face.
All the while the Cyclopse snake was slithering towards him, bending and twisting its green and amber body towards his newly caught prey.
A pool of dark red blood had already formed around Michael''s exhausted body before the snake had reached him.
He squirmed around in it like a helpless child, knowing what was to come he began punching the ground with his left hand in anger.
The Snake was now towering over him, inspecting Michael with its single beady eye, toying with its prey.
Wagging its tail, the snake joyfully pounced onto the nearly torn off arm and finished its previous endeavour by devouring it whole.
The corners of his mouth ripped slightly from his agonised screams.
He felt helpless, angry, but most of all vengeful.
Rage overcame his helplessness as he attempted to punch the hide which wrapped around the beastly snake, but it was to no avail, struggled as Michael did he was not strong enough to even distract the snake from its delicious meal.
Again and again, he attempted to attack the snake, Punch after punch, slap after slap, the most damage he was able to inflict was a slight red mark, but it was enough to piss the snake off to point where it was about lunge at his construed face.
The beast hissed as he darted his two fangs at Michael''s head.
Michael screamed as he threw his fist with the last of his might towards the snakes foul head.
As he threw the punch a thick log of stone erupted from the ground and followed through with his fist. The snake''s colossal head met the pillar of stone.
*crush*
The snakes two large fangs were crushed into powder, and its skull was deformed and moulded into what people would see in an abstract art gallery.
The pillar didn''t stop there though; it carried on ploughing the snake through multiple trees, clearing out a path until it finally was crushed between the stone pillar and a gargantuan tree.
It''s body turned into a bloody pulp; it transformed into something unrecognisable. A pile guts and muscle construed across a beautiful dark brown tree.
Michael looked up and thought that in some way it looked quite beautiful, only to black out from blood loss.
Unarmed II
A beam of light gently shone onto Michael''s eyes; they twitched for a bit but eventually, he squinted them open, and his heart started racing.
He shot upwards, or at least attempted to but was met with a stone ceiling above his head.
After nearly knocking himself out, he cautiously pushed upwards with his left hand. Swiping from left to right he attempted to figure where he was.
With no luck on figuring out where he was, with the only option left being to push onto the stone ceiling, he forced his left hand upwards which in turn made the stone ceiling sink into the ground.
Impressed with his new found skill he smiled gleefully only to then look down and see that he was missing his right arm.
His eyes became panicky and made sure wasn''t still bleeding out from his previous wound. He gently rubbed his stub and sulked over his misfortune, but instead of a fleshy injury, he met a smooth stone-like surface.
although he was shocked by the condition that his arm was in and the fact it was made out of stone, he put it down to having the Earth attribute.
''It''s nice knowing that I''m not going to bleed to death but...''
"Oh, my poor little arm!"
He wept into his single left palm.
"Why did you have to leave me so soon!"
Even though he tried his best, Michael couldn''t hide his regret by exploding with overly-dramatic comments. Calming down, he took a knee and shivered as he remembered nearly dying; the thought of ending up in the stomach of that one-eyed demon sent shivers down his spine.
Curious as to see what happened to the corpse, he limped his way across the path he conveniently made when punching the over-grown snake into the masses of trees.
''Might as well check my status I guess.''
He thought to himself, curious to see what condition he was in.

*Congratulations on Killing your first ''low tier monster.'' Because it''s your first time killing a ''low tier monster'' we are rewarding you with 10 points!*
''Wow, I''m glad I put points into constitution otherwise I may di... why has my race changed?''Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
"What the hell is an Earthoid?"
"E-er Status what is an Earthoid?"
*Earthoid - A creature that was once human but had formed a relationship with the ground and became one with the earth.
They are said to be able to control Earth based elements far better than average humans.*
''Are you trying to say the ground had intercourse with me?''
Less than savoury thoughts came to mind as he imagined how it would have gone down.
"I always knew Mother Nature was a naughty one."
Michael smiled smugly at his joke, the smug smile then turned in maniacal laughing.
Maybe it''s because of his loneliness or maybe its because he was so tense, Michael didn''t know, but he went with his body''s instincts and laughed for a good 5 minutes.
''Well I''ll but those points into constitution, hopefully, that''ll help me survive a little longer in this System forsaken place!''
After stumbling his way to the snake corpse, he took in the grizzly mess he made.
"Ah yes I did this, all me, you see that chunk of meat over there about 50 metres away... yep I did that!"
Michael couldn''t hide his ear stretching smile, he looked quite insane with the corner of lips being ripped apart and having pearly white teeth with splattered blood on them, but he just couldn''t stop smiling.
Still, his eyes shone with caution making sure not to be caught off-guard again.
"I blew that meat high into the sky."
*growl* A slight rumble came to fruition from Michael''s stomach.
''I haven''t eaten for System knows how long.''
Michael''s eyes started gauging all the different parts of the snake that had ''placed'' around the forest.
"Oh Gluttony why do you torture me so?"
He cried aloud while shaking his ''stub'' towards the gradually brightening sky.
An unsure look appeared on his face as he quizzically examined a piece of meat, around the size of a fist. Having no way to actually cook the piece of snake steak, due to not living in a feral beast filled forest before, he acquiesced his decision to bite into the fleshy corpse to appease the unfortunate need to survive.
Blood oozed down his pointed chin, and his teeth pulled at the stringy meat as though in a battle of tug-o-war with it.
''Fucking hell I might as well be having a tug-o-war with this bloody thing.''
Michael thought to himself as he carnivorously tore apart the meat, painting a red canvas on the lower part of his face.
After finishing his gory meal, looking like he came straight out of an insane asylum, he began gathering his thoughts and making a plan.
"First I''m going to need some kind of bag to hold this meat until I find more food, and I need some clothes; as much as I love the wind against my lil firecracker, I don''t want to freeze to death."
Eyeing his surroundings for danger, he started gathering twigs and large leaves in an attempt to create something that, hopefully, resembles a bag.
The leaves he found were at least two feet long and one foot wide, they were dark green but had bright red veins that ran up from the stem which separated the leaves into sections.
The twigs he gathered were long brown and thin, but were also conveniently flexible, allowing them to be tied to objects.
Excited by the prospect of being fully clothed, he placed all the materials into a pile.
He had a first attempt at making a bag.
-one hour later-
"FUCK FUCK FUCK!"
Michael started gasping for air after a fit of rage.
"How am I supposed to do this. It''s actually impossible, how the actual fuck.... Arrrrgh!"
He screamed as the two pieces of leaves collapsed off a branch he was using to hold them together.
Apparently only having one hand increases the failure rate of doing... anything.
"You arrogant little prick!"
Bellowing at the defenceless inanimate object, Michael sucked in his gut as he remembered the last time he started shouting he was nearly turned into a corpse.
Terrified by his memories, he stood stone still and quickly rotated his body around, with his eyes wide open, searching for anything that shows slight hunger.
"listen, leafy my boy, we just gotta work together, haven''t you always aspired to be a beautiful backpack for a courageous warrior, like myself?"
He dropped his head into his one arm and shakily blew out some air, his insanity was getting to him.
''You are talking to a leaf Michael, what the hell is wrong with you!''
He charged his head into a tree in a fit of anger, which reverberated and a couple of birds flew out it, clearly disturbed.
He dropped backwards, arms and legs spread in a starfish position.
"Ouch, my head."
Unarmed III
''That''s it!''
''I can use my head to hold the leaves against the tree and thread the leaves with my left hand... I''m a genius!''
- two hours go by -
With a slight smile and a squint in his eyes, Michael finally finished his first make-shift bag.
Parts of it were torn, and one part of the bag was threatening to fall off completely, but Michael''s eyes sparkled at his ''marvellous'' creation.
With his ''bag'' completed he started searching for the slightly more ''appetising'' pieces of meat. He managed to find at least four healthy chunks of meat that he placed in his bag, which was impossibly holding up despite having to actually carry something.
*kuchu kuchu kuchu*
A few metres behind Michael a couple of bushes started to rustle and shake and a weird noise was being emitted, it was almost like a mouse eating cheese but, much louder.
Michael wasn''t bothered to stick around either. So not wanting to find who''s menu he was on next, he dashed away with his colourful leaf-bag in tow.
He brazenly slapped the forestry, that was attacking his face, away from him and narrowly dodged roots of the many trees which stuck up from the ground.
After running a reasonable distance away from the ''mouse eating cheese'' creature. Michael took a knee and remembered to look at his status, as he was feeling much better than earlier after eating the snake meat.

''Hmmm after eating the meat I seem to have gained 100 HP, and my MP became full again.''
Michael quizzically stroked his chin, which in turn scraped off some of the dried blood from the earlier battle with the snake meat.
''So it seems that to regain health I need to eat food and I think that my Mana regenerates over time, which would explain the significant difference between the two figures.''
He started massaging his temples.
''Also strength went up by 2 and so did constitution without me putting any points in. I wonder if that''s from eating the meat or something else?''
He started stretching and warming up his body.
''Well, I might as well practice my new found magical abilities!''
He gave hmmpph, clicked his neck to the side and back again, took a deep breath and blew out.
He slowly raised his hand upwards focus on the ground below, which was started to quake slightly.
Michael felt a gentle tingling sensation flowing through his body, and then the earth opened up as a small pillar, made of stone-like materials, rose upwards.
His chest grew excited as he couldn''t stop his heart from racing.
Wanting to see precisely what he was capable of he tensed up his whole body and attempted to move as much mana into the earth as possible.
The ground beneath him started reverberating and a circular platform, about as thick as a tree, lifted him into the air.
He was at the height of the tip of the forest, god-rays from the golden sun dazzled him with warm light.
The wind wrapped itself around his small frame, shooting past at high speeds nearly knocking off the platform.
Michael shouted with glee into the afternoon sky, this was the first time he had experienced true power and seemingly had forgotten all his previous misfortunes.
Five minutes went by as Michael let out his excitement, quickly evaporating his energy. Slowly he came to his senses and pondered to himself. The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
''Now how do I get down.''
He began to try access his mana again and tensed up only to feel nothing.
His face dropped, and his eyes wandered to bottom of the pillar, which was a terrifying five stories below him.

"OH. I''m such an idiot!"
He palmed his face, leaving a bright red mark of a hand covering his mouth, cheeks, and brow.
''What do I do now?''
Taking a deep breath, Michael laid onto his back and stared at the sky. He saw the great big ball of flame that he would call the ''sun,'' but alongside it was multiple different moon-type planets.
Three moons sat side by side.
They each varied in size and grace, the smallest one being breathtakingly beautiful. It was cerulean and had delicate wisps of mist that spun around it. Michael stared at it seemingly falling into a trance as his head danced around his neck.
The Moon next to it seemed to be deprived of any joy, it sat still, unmoving as if contemplating on something. It was eerily black in colour, and it seeped away any sunlight that shone on to it.
The last and largest moon stood firm, the way the light hit it made it seem as if it was asserting itself towards the sun basking its sapphire shell under the heat.
With his eyes drifting ever closer to rest, Michael marvelled at the scene above him. Three graceful moons and a vast Sun, which was slowly disappearing under the horizon, lighting up the lush green forest surrounding him.
Howls of beast and animals echoed under the branches of epic trees. The cries reverberated through the whole forest like a roar of a car bouncing from one side to another.
A magnitude of stomps and crashes could be felt, shaking he body of the forest.
A warzone was below him, and Michael got to listen and hear it all.
As time flew by the massive amount of sound generated from the forest soon to turned into white noise, constant and everlasting.
The Sun had finally past the horizon allowing the cold night sky to consume everything. Michael''s eyes slipped away into sleep.
...................................................................................................................................................
The night faded quickly, and Michael once again awoke the gentle tap of sunlight on his shoulder.
Yawning, he stretched his arm and stub into the breezy air.
He sighed as he looked around the forest from his vantage point. Miles upon miles of maze-like shrubbery expanded throughout the land. A heritage green was painted on the tops of trees.
"Status"
Michael spoke monotonously, seemingly getting used to having to look at it.

''Ah my manas fully restored but my health, well it seems I was correct, I need to eat to restore it.''
Nervously, He leaned over the edge of the stone tower and started making little tips of rock poke out of it like a climbing wall.
After finishing the ''climbing wall'', he started making his way, stumbling a couple times, with sweat dripping from the forehead into the eyes, breaking his concentration. His palm slipped, and his body began falling. With limbs flailing in the air and panic bleeding across his face, with a desperate struggle he forced another ledge to push out of the column and catch him.
His body thudded and created a small dent on the balcony.
His stomach crumpled, and blood splattered out of his mouth marking one the trees.
He pulled naked body upwards and found that his bag was still fully intact. Despite the pain he was in, the fact his poorly made bag of twigs and leaves was still managing to pull its weight, he couldn''t help but laugh.
He continued to laugh, but when he checked his health, it had fallen from 180 to 100.
A flash of fury coloured his pupils, and he was about to punch into the wall but decided against it as he couldn''t afford to lose much more health.
After spending some time recovering, he began his descent again, he got to the bottom without a hitch, even with his aching muscles and sore body.
After checking his surroundings, he began his journey to civilisation, or at least he hoped. Actively searching for any possible predator, he chopped away at the leaves with his arm.
