《Author Vs Protagonist》 Chapter 1: Author ¡°It¡¯s freaking cold¡±, an average middle-aged man complained. He was on his way to work. As he did not have a car, he had no choice but to walk early morning to make it in time. ¡°Damn it, why do I need to go to work now of all days?¡±, the middle-aged begrudgingly man said. His name is Zhang Wei, 35 years old and obviously a virgin . He is just an average person. Average looks, average work, average salary, average name (Zhang Wei is a very common name in China). His whole being is average. ¡°Why do I live like this, God just kill me already¡±, he said as he was crossing the street. As if his prayers were answered a truck was speeding straight in the middle of the street, heading straight towards him. Zhang Wei being the average person he is just stared at the truck. His pants wet from piss and he completely froze. In less than an instant he reflected on his life. He had accomplished nothing, his whole life was average. In middle school his peers all ignored him, in high school he was constantly bullied until he drowned himself in light novels. After that he got a job at a sh*tty company with a lower salary than his co-worker just because his co worker had a more decent face. ¡°My life is going to end just like this?¡± He grimaced in his heart. ¡°Well f*cking fine then, I¡¯ll take this time to curse everybody out. Screw you Qi Jian, you think I forgot that you stole my milk in middle school you piece of sh*t. Screw you too Ju Zhi, you think I didn¡¯t realize that you¡¯re the one who spread rumors that I was gay. I didn¡¯t get laid a single time in my pathetic life.¡± As he was in a state of consciousness where time seemingly passed by at a million times the normal speed. He was cursing almost everybody he had met. Until finally he said, ¡°And most of all F*ck you God!¡±. And finally, he closed his eyes. The truck came and he passed. ¨C ¡°Oi wake up¡±, Zhang Wei heard a voice.Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere. He opened his eyes and saw a man sitting on a chair staring at him. The man had an amazingly beautiful face equalling the hottest actor in the world. He was covered in a pure white robe and had a trace of elegance on him. Zhang Wei¡¯s mind was still blank. He then suddenly realized that he was inside a small white room. This room was encompassed by a bright light that was not even slightly blinding. ¡°Oi, can¡¯t you hear me?¡±, The man¡¯s voice sounded. Zhang Wei immediately snapped back to reality. ¡°Where am I?¡±, he squeaked softly. He appeared calm on the outside. However, inside his head he was beyond panicked. ¡°The f*ck? Did I not f*cking get hit by truck-kun? And who the F*ck is this man. He¡¯s too pretty, I hate him already.¡± A million thoughts went through his head. However, he could not even voice a single one. ¡°You are in the waiting chamber.¡± The man calmly explained, ¡°Your death was actually a mistake, you were actually supposed to leap out of the way before the truck hit you. I however did not factor in that you were that useless.¡± ¡°WTF! How did you expect me to leap away when a truck was inches away from me?¡±, Zhang Wei shouted in is head. He then thought, ¡°Damn, I just had to curse everyone at that time, no wonder time was so freaking slow, I could have just simply moved.¡± ¡°I even gave you [Accelerated Consciousness] to ensure you had plenty of time. Who would have thought that you would just stood there.¡± The man continued without stopping. At this time Zhang Wei could not handle it anymore, he immediately snapped at the man, ¡°What the f*uck do you mean I should have dodged? You expect a normal human to take action when a motherf*ucking truck is inches away from his face?¡± The man¡¯s expression did not change. He nonchalantly said, ¡°Well how was I suppose to know you were so useless.¡±, he then immediately said, ¡°Anyway, since your death was an accident I want you to participate on a little game.¡± ¡°What game?¡± ¡°Simple, I just want you to go to another world and follow everything I say. I will dictate your life and forge a compelling story from it.¡±, the man spoke with enthusiasm. ¡°How the heck are you going to do that?¡±, Zhang Wei was bewildered, this man was clearly a lunatic, but Zhang Wei was confused that he didn¡¯t even bother that the man was speaking crazily. ¡°Well, you did curse at me a few moments before your death.¡±, without letting Zhang Wei reply, he shouted, ¡°Alright then, time for your rebirth.¡± ¡°Wait what?! What a mome-.¡± Before Zhang Wei could finish talking he was enveloped in a bright light and passed out again. ¨C ¡°Zhang Wei woke up from his slumber. He looked around him in confusion. However, he was not anxious, although he was a worthless virgin in his previous life, he was deter-¡°. A voice sounded inside Zhang Wei¡¯s head. ¡°Hold on just a freaking moment.¡±, Zhang Wei has been listening to this voice in his head and got increasingly annoyed at the remark at the end. ¡°Who are you?¡±. ¡°I had said this before I will dictate the way you live, and will forge an amazing saga about a man who went from worthless to a big shot. Oh and by the way, you can call me Author.¡± The voice rang Chapter 2: Follow Them ¡°What the heck do you mean ''Author''?¡± ¡°It means that all of reality in this realm is controlled by me. My words will turn to reality.¡±, Author¡¯s voice sounded lazy, as if anything that required interaction with Zhang Wei was boring to him. Zhang Wei was flabbergasted internally. Is this a freaking reincarnation novel? Am I Kazuma? Well Truck-kun did send me here. The weirder thing is that his exterior is exceedingly calm. Is the Author¡¯s word true? Anything he say will be a reality? ¡°Oh great and majestic Author, you are exceedingly handsome¡±, Zhang Wei decided to try flatter the Author after considering things. What he did not expect was the Author would suddenly say, ¡± Zhang Wei, 16 years old is an exceedingly trash individual, with trash aptitude and trash looks. When he was a teenager, he was weaker than a normal child. His crush even once said that if she were to look at him for more than an hour she would puke profusely.¡± ¡°Oi you Sh*tty Author, stop making my life so terrible.¡±, he could not be damned anymore to flatter the sh*tty Author. He was filled with rage. In my previous life I was average, now I¡¯m just sh*t? Could you at least make me a person with noble character? Are you trying to make me commit suicide? As if the Author heard what he said, ¡± Zhang Wei¡¯s character is disgusting, even with his trash looks, he still had the gall to act as if he was handsome. He is so shameless that even the most shameless person in the world would puke blood if he heard Zhang Wei speak. If he says that he is second, no one would dare claim first.¡± ¡°F*ck F*ck F*ck F*ck.¡±, Zhang Wei could not help but curse out. Sh*tty Author at least let me save some face. After what seemed like an eternity he started to ignore the Author¡¯s words and started to figure out where he was. He realized that he was inside a rather large room. The room was quite big and could fit all of his belongings. His decorations were average and there was barely any furniture inside the room. His situation must probably be pretty bad. This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it. ¡°Oi sh*tty Author, how is my background?¡±, he needed all the information he could get and there was no one better that could explain to him than the one who made all the rules. In a machine like voice, the Author replied, ¡°Zhang Wei¡¯s life had been sad, when he was 7, his mother had gotten killed for blocking a noble¡¯s carriage. His father in a fit of rage, lunged at the noble, but was stopped and executed on the spot. Since then, Zhang Wei who was ugly and weak, he had to rely on picking herbs to make a living.¡± Ignoring the hateful remarks of the Author, Zhang Wei could not help but sigh, He just arrived and found out that he did not even have a family anymore. Although he had never met his family and had no emotional attachment whatsoever, he still felt bad. The Author, seemingly bored of exposition, just directly transferred information into Zhang Wei¡¯s mind. Although Zhang Wei could not believe the attitude of this sh*tty Author, he did not want to listen to anymore of the Author¡¯s mockery. He got out of his small bed and looked out of the window. The Sun was still up and showed no signs of going down soon. His stomach had been rumbling since earlier but he was too busy pondering to even realize. As he did not have a kitchen he had to go eat at restaurant. Looking back to his memories, he knew that he had yet to collect and exchange herbs today. He went out of his small house and took a look at the scenery around him. From his knowledge, he knew that his house was on the outskirts of the city and near the forest. The forest surrounding the forest was not thick, but normal people would not dare head to the inner layer. Though the outer layer barely had any wild beast, there was still a few cases where there were sightings. He headed into the outer layer and started to pick the herbs that he recognized. As he was busy collecting, he saw a group of 5 youths going into the inner layer. These youth were no younger than he was and were dressed in fancy robes. He knew these youth were Martial Practitioners. Martial Practitioners were people who managed to break through human limitations to achieve superior strengths. Zhang Wei saw them and decided to pay them no heed. He knew that he could not compare to them and would rather keep collecting herbs. ¡°You think I¡¯m a fool? Only retards would risk their lives to go into the inner layer.I¡¯ll just keep collecting herbs and get my lunch money.¡± Less than a minute after he thought that, the Author¡¯s voice rang in his head, ¡°Zhang Wei despite his cowardice, decided to follow those Martial Practitioners to see if he could have a fortuitous encounter.¡± ¡°F*ck F*ck F*ck F*ck. Oi sh*tty Author are you insane, my little life would be lost if I encounter a wild beast in there.¡±, despite his protest, he could not refuse the Author¡¯s demand. He begrudgingly followed the group of youths. Chapter 3: System The youths were strolling at a rather fast pace. It was obvious that they were they were not willing to waste time. Zhang Wei kept his distance as he followed them. The last thing he wanted was these people accusing him of spying on them and killing him on the spot. The group strolled for 10 more minutes before finally entering the inner layer and coming to an abrupt stop. They carefully explored the inner layer. After around 30 minutes they took a break. ¡°Whew, we can¡¯t find it, Aron are you sure teacher wanted us to get that White Wolf carcass for him?¡±, one of the youths asked the bulky individual. ¡°Of course, teacher said he needed a level 2 wild beast carcass to refine the Skeleton Strengthening Pill. Only a level 2 White Wolf can be used to refine that pill.¡± ¡°Well, with all 6 of us here it shouldn¡¯t be a problem.¡±, Aron was fairly confident that with all 6 of them there, they can suppress a level 2 wild beast. ¡°Oh, by the way, what should we do about that guy. He¡¯s been trailing us for quite a while.¡±, a scrawny youth asked. ¡°Leave him, we don¡¯t want to waste time. I couldn¡¯t detect any energy on him, so he shouldn¡¯t be a Martial Practitioner. If he gets in the way, kill him.¡±, Aron was pressing for time, his teacher told him that he urgently needed that carcass. A hundred meters away, Zhang Wei was hiding behind a big tree. He thought that he was hiding like a top assassin. He was getting smug and didn¡¯t even realize that they had already detected him. ¡°Hmph, sh*tty Author, what trash skills? I¡¯m hiding from these people like a pro.¡±, Just as he was about to get closer and listen in on their conversation, a loud howl rang. In a few moments, a pack of White Wolves had surrounded the vicinity. They were initially intending to invade the territory of other wild beast but caught the scent of Martial Practitioners. Aron and his group was surrounded from all sides.Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site. ¡°Sh*t! how did these pack of White Wolves sneak up on us? Unless -¡°, one had to know that Martial Practitioners incredible perception and could detect even an ant from a hundred meters away. So the only way anything was going to sneak up on them was through [Perception Block]. [Perception Block] was an inherent skill of the Assassin class. This skill allowed them to block a target¡¯s perception without them even realizing. Aron was in a bind. He and his fellow disciples were only Level 2 Martial Practitioners. In this situation he could escape, but then the rest would be slaughtered. He immediately sent out a distress signal and hope that they can hold on before someone came and rescue them. Zhang Wei was looking at this situation and started to sweat, he turned his back and wanted to slowly back away. He was just a normal commoner. He stood no chance of fighting any kind of wild beasts. Just as he was about to slowly back off, Author¡¯s voice rang, ¡°Zhang Wei, who saw that his fellow humans were in trouble decided to leap into action and fight the wolves.¡± ¡°F*ck¡±, Zhang Wei cursed loudly. Oi sh*tty Author, are you trying to get me killed? I¡¯m just a normal person. If I jump in there I would be immediately eaten. Brother please spare my little life. Author seemingly unperturbed continued, ¡°However, there was a problem. Zhang Wei was pathetically weak. He was so useless that even the wolves did not want to eat him. Suddenly from out of nowhere, he felt strength surging inside of him. It seems that due to his trash strength and aptitude, the heavens have decided to take pity onto him. Granting him great strength.¡± Just as one would expect, Zhang Wei felt strength surging in his veins. A loud beep rang in his head. ¡°Congratulations User. The Great Heavens have taken pity on you. To compensate your pathetically weak self, The Great Heavens have awarded you the Overpowered System. This system will allow you to gain power to rule above all others.¡± ¡°Here are your stats¡± ¨C Level : 1 Race : Human STR : 30 AGI : 30 SP : 30 DEX : 30 DEF : 30 LCK : -30 Title: None Skills: None Remarks : You are now powerful. Please fulfill all your fantasy that you could not achieve due to your pathetic self back then. ¨C As Zhang Wei was listening to the Author and System spoke, he could not help but fume. What the f*ck do you mean pathetically weak? Am I too trash that even the heavens had taken pity on me and gave me a broken system?! And what¡¯s with that name ¡°Overpowered System¡±? Am I becoming Lin Fan now? Will I be a Dragon amongst men? While he almost puked blood, he was still overjoyed. A name like Overpowered System could not possible be sh*t. He could not wait to test out his newfound strength. He looked at the direction of the youths and a devious smile crept onto his face, ¡± Daddy¡¯s coming.¡± Chapter 4: Squashed The group of youths were frantic. They were struggling as they were backed up into a corner. These pack of wolves were too much for them to handle. White Wolves are one of the weaker wild beast, but ferocious when grouped up. Aron now had almost exhausted all of his spirit energy. But he did not relent as he knew that his juniors could not even take a hit. He had to ensure their safety. ¡°Damn! It doesn¡¯t look like anyone responded to the distress signal. I guess this is the day I die.¡±, Aron¡¯s was somber. He still had many things to do in this life. He had a bright future.¡±Forgive me master.¡± ¡°Cease this at once!¡±, just when Aron had given up, a man roared as he leaped in front of the group. The man was wearing a simple attire, the type commoners usually wear, but his aura was majestic and almost made Aron choked. This man was none other than Zhang Wei. Zhang Wei thought of arriving like a heroic angel, but then remembered that the Author said that his looks were trash that people would even puke if he touched them. So with no other choice, he had to be as domineering as possible. Instilling fear upon everybody was the best choice. He was completely satisfied by the groups reaction. He then turned to the pack of White Wolves and said in an arrogant tone, ¡°Damned beast, leave here at once or suffer my wrath!¡±. Every word he said was heavy as mountains to people around him, they felt insurmountable pressure. Aron was relieved. While he felt great fear towards this man, he at least knew that he and his juniors would not be harmed. At the same time, he was also bewildered, ¡°Where did this expert come from?¡±. ¡°And why is his face so ugly?¡±. The wolves felt Zhang Wei¡¯s pressure but did not retreat. Instead, one of the wolves pounced at Zhang Wei hoping to catch him off guard. The next thing that happened was what no one had expected. The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. Zhang Wei merely punched and the wolf splattered. ¡°¡ The F*CK??!!¡±, the group was shocked. Brother, our group could not defeat even one wolf while working together, but you only needed one punch? Where is the fairness in this world? Even the wolves could not believe what was happening. This man took one punch to immediately destroy one of them. However, Zhang Wei was the one who was shocked the most, ¡°Holy sh*t! Was that freaking real? I just panicked and put my hand up.¡±. While everyone was shocked, another howl rang, this howl was louder and fiercer than the howl before. A White Wolf descended from atop a tree. This Wolf was twice as big as the other wolves. Aron saw the wolf and frowned, ¡°White Wolf Alpha!¡±, he croaked. While he thought that the mysterious man was very powerful, the White Wolf Alpha was a level 4 wild beast! Only the city¡¯s top experts could contend with this beast. There was no way this man could defeat this White Wolf Alpha. As Aron was worrying, Zhang Wei merely looked at the White Wolf Alpha and smirked. So what if you¡¯re the leader? You think your puny little strength can match the Overpowered System? Brother if I were you, I would lay down and show my belly. Who knows maybe I would take pity on you and make you my pet. The White Wolf Alpha growled and charged at Zhang Wei. His speed was noticeably faster than the wolf before and as he charged, a large pressure was exuding from his body. ¡°That¡¯s the [Beast Pressure]! Benefactor please run away!¡±, Aron was shaken. [Beast Pressure] was an innate level 4 skill. It exudes pressure from the body that causes enemies to be petrified. Wild Beast that had this skill would at least reach level 6 and is more powerful than normal beast of its level. However, Zhang Wei did not move. What [Beast Pressure]? You think this measly pressure could faze me? Just as the White Wolf Alpha reached him, Zhang Wei nonchalantly punched forward. Splattered! ¡°¡¡± ¡°THE F*CK?????!!!!!!¡± One punch again? Brother do you really need to show off this much. That was a level 4 beast that could dominate the city. Must you be so overpowered? And you White Wolf Alpha, didn¡¯t you have [Beast Pressure]? Not only did you not petrify him, he squashed you like a pathetic bug. Aron¡¯s head was dizzy. Who is this godly expert? Did he descend from the heavens? Even his master could not compare to this stranger. Just when they thought that they could not get more astonished, Zhang Wei said, ¡°Dead already? Well that was easy.¡± The whole group almost puked blood. Chapter 5: Onward To The City After seeing Zhang Wei easily subdue the White Wolf Alpha, the rest of the White Wolves were terror stricken. They wanted to run away from this godly expert quickly. However, Zhang Wei looked at them and they knew there was no way they could escape today. Zhang Wei ran towards them and started to subdue them one by one. Every single wolf was squashed like bugs. Aron and his juniors were already immune to shock after witnessing Zhang Wei easily killing the White Wolf Alpha, but they were still nonetheless amazed at the his speed. Martial Practitioners were typically divided into several categories, such as Agility type Martial Practitioners and Strength type Martial Practitioners. There are also exceptions that focus on specific skills and unique weapons. Aron and his group consist of 3 Strength type and 2 Agility type. Aron himself was an Agility type and had his very own skill, [Lesser Agility Boost]. This skill gives him a boost in his agility for 5 minutes. However, even if he used this skill he knew that he could not even reach 10% of Zhang Wei¡¯s speed. After Zhang Wei had finished off the last wolf, he noticed that after killing White Wolf Alpha, his strength had increased by quite a bit. He wondered that since he had a system, will he level up after he killed something? He opened up his stats to check. _ Level: 2 Race: Human STR: 60 AGI: 60 SP: 60 DEX: 60 DEF: 60 LCK: -30 Title: None Skills: [Beast Pressure] Remarks: Congratulations user, you are now powerful enough to literally solo the entire forest with your eyes closed. However, do try to not enslave some beast for your personal ¡®playtime¡¯. _ Oi what do you mean personal ¡®playtime¡¯? You think I¡¯m some sick bastard that loves bestiality? F*ck! My moral dignity is being put into the mud. Regardless of the twisted remarks from the system, Zhang Wei was excited that his stats had doubled. Still the skill [Beast Pressure]. Wasn¡¯t it a skill that could only be available to wild beast? How did he manage to acquire it. The more he thought, the more confused he was, so he decided to just leave it at that.Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? This novel is from Royal Road. Support the author by reading it there. However, Zhang Wei now realized that he had a problem, he did not know the way out of the inner layer. The forest¡¯s inner layer was three times bigger than the outer layer and due to White Wolves attack, he could not determine the route that he took before. ¡°I could run around and try to find the exit, but I¡¯m too hungry to even try.¡±, he nearly had forgotten that he went to the forest to collect herbs and was caught in this situation because of the Author. Speaking of which has been quite silen-. Author cut Zhang Wei¡¯s words almost comedically, ¡°Zhang Wei¡¯s performance was so majestic and astounding that one of the group members he saved was instantly captivated. That boy Curt, despite Zhang Wei¡¯s hideous appearance, fell head over heels for him.¡± ¡°MotherF*cker!¡± Why do you always do this to me you sh*tty Author! Why did it have to be a freaking male? I¡¯m heterosexual! Give me a cute female that could topple kingdoms. How am I suppose to get kids if you make guys attracted to me?! Zhang Wei felt helpless. He was about to ask the group to lead him to the city, but was now scared. He did not want to trigger any flags. Should I or should I not ask them? Just as Zhang Wei was contemplating, Aron walked up to him and greeted, ¡°Benefactor, this humble youth¡¯s name is Aron. I thank you for saving me and my juniors. If there¡¯s anything that we can do to repay you, please do not hesitate.¡±, Aron decided to take the initiative since he he was scared that Zhang Wei would feel offended if he did not express his gratitude. ¡°Well then Aron. This Humble Man¡¯s name is Zhang Wei. You can repay me by leading me to the city.¡±, Zhang Wei was pleased. Just as he was in a pickle, Aron came with a solution. This kid¡¯s not half bad. Sure he may be a bit handsome and that pisses me off, but at least he has good morals. Zhang Wei had a good impression of Aron. Back when he saw them getting cornered by the pack of White Wolves, Aron did his best to protect his junior disciples. Aron was glad to know that Zhang Wei was not mad. ¡°Thank God he¡¯s not angry. Sure he¡¯s a bit domineering, but with strength like that, even I would be arrogant. But Zhang Wei, what a weird name.¡± ¡°Benefactor please follow me¡±, Aron and his junior disciples led the way out of the inner layer. Along the way every beast that they encountered was slapped by Zhang Wei and squashed immediately. They were progressing rather smoothly. However, They did not forget to ask Zhang Wei to save one white Wolf carcass to give to their master. Zhang Wei merely nodded. Along the way he managed to get to know the group better. Aron told him valuable information and Zhang Wei learned all their names. However, the (Real Author) was too lazy to actually come up with the names or even use a random name generator for the matter. So they were merely known as Weakling 1, Weakling 2 and Weakling 3. The one who Zhang Wei was most focused on was the Strength type Martial Practitioner Curt. When Zhang Wei saw how curt looked at him, he almost puked blood. Oi brother! why are you looking at me with that awed expression? I know this Humble Man is extremely gorgeous, but I have no interest in males! Introduce me to your sister if you want to get closer to me! Chapter 6: Youre Not Going To Run Right? Not before long, Zhang Wei and the group reached the middle district city gates. The city was built in a way that there are 3 districts. The district where Zhang Wei¡¯s house is located at and the place that he trades herbs were at the lower district. Middle districts are the place where businesses are operated. As such, middle district is the largest and busiest of all the districts. High district is a large district made of multiple land properties, governed by influential families. High district also had businesses but were typically used for living quarters for the nobles. As they approach the entrance, the guards looked at Zhang Wei and stopped him. ¡°Halt¡±, he scrutinized Zhang Wei from top to bottom. ¡°Please let us check you.¡± Aron looked at the guard and almost cursed. ¡°Brother, why are you stopping this godly man? You may not know this, but he killed a level 4 beast like it was a fly! What are you going to do if he gets pissed off?¡±. Aron knew that this was not standard protocol, as the guards typically would allow everyone to pass through the gates. He walked up to the guard and flashed a silver crow insignia, ¡°This man is a guest of the Alvero Family. Please let him pass through.¡± Alvero is Aron¡¯s family and is one of the influential families that owns 5 land properties. The guard was startled and immediately bowed and apologized, ¡°My apologies noble sir, I did not know that he was a honored guest.¡± He allowed Zhang Wei and the group to pass. Aron then gestured Zhang Wei to head inside. He was afraid that Zhang Wei was displeased by the guard¡¯s actions, but was glad to see that there was no change to Zhang Wei¡¯s expression. Zhang Wei on the inside however, was fuming. Oi you sh*tty guard! What¡¯s with that disdainful look when you were checking me? Am I that ugly that you had that mocking tone in your eyes? You¡¯re lucky that I haven¡¯t punched you and squashed you like a bug. Zhang Wei was being careful, although he had killed a level 4 White Wolf Alpha, he was not sure how powerful that beast was when compared to experts in the city. He did not want to incur trouble to himself. So he merely sucked it up and endured. He was also surprised that Aron had a noble insignia. However, he then thought back that most Martial Practitioners came from noble families and commoners with low aptitudes were looked down upon. The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation. As he went into the city, he took a second to absorb the scenery. He looked at the architectural design that resembled the middle ages on earth and was impressed at the quality. Seeing that Zhang Wei was just standing there and looking at the buildings, Aron offered to Zhang Wei to dine at a high class restaurant. Zhang Wei at this moment was starving, so he could not be happier at the invitation. He thought, ¡°I¡¯m starting to like this kid more and more.¡± He kept an unimpressed expression and said. ¡°This Humble Man will accept your offer.¡± Aron then lead Zhang Wei to a restaurant called Blue Ocealot. It was a 2 storey restaurant located at the middle district. The walls were made of marble and the sign was embroidered in gold. Zhang Wei followed Aron inside and got himself a table that could fit all of them. When Zhang Wei got the menu, he almost popped his eyes open. 10 gold coins for a single steak, 1 gold coin for a bowl of soup, 5 gold coins for a glass of wine. Everything on the menu was what a commoner family could not afford even if they work for an entire year. 1 gold coin is equal to 100 silver coins. 1 silver coin is equal to 1000 bronze coins. 10 silver coins was what a normal family would live by for a year. 1 gold coin could last a normal commoner family a lifetime. Zhang Wei looked at these youths again and sighed. Truly a group of rich nobles, they had this everyday for lunch. Since Aron was paying for him, Zhang Wei did not hold back and ordered almost everything on the menu, hoping to let these rich youths panic a bit. Little did he know that not even a single one of them flinched. It was like these amount of money was nothing to them. Zhang Wei almost puked blood when he heard Aron say, ¡°Sir Zhang Wei, please forgive us for taking you to this restaurant. Other restaurants require reservations and even nobles cannot simply barge in.¡± Brother, why are you talking as if this restaurant is trash? Even in my previous life, I had never been in a restaurant even remotely as fancy as this. And you talk as if you¡¯re doing me an injustice by taking me here. Zhang Wei merely nodded to show he did not mind. A while later, the food arrived and Zhang Wei started to gobble up everything. He was too hungry, and did not even care what others would think. Aron saw Zhang Wei¡¯s eating habits and merely dismissed it as one of the peculier habits that Zhang Wei has. ¡°Experts tend to be eccentric.¡±, he thought. Seeing that Zhang Wei was enjoying his meal, Aron asked Zhang Wei if he could leave for a moment to pass on the White Wolf carcass to his master. Zhang Wei was too busy eating and merely gestured that he could go. But then he thought, ¡°These kids are not going to run right?¡±, he did not bring any money and if these kids truly ran then he would be embarrassed at not being able to pay the tab. He held Aron back and told him, ¡°Hurry back, I wish to meet this master of yours.¡± Aron nodded and went on his way. Chapter 7: Hes Very Handsome Zarion Academy Zarion Academy is a significant place in the city. Every single nobleman will send their child to seek tutelage in Zarion Academy. As the foremost academy in the city, Zarion Academy is home to many experts. Most of whom are employed by the family running the academy, Cromwell Family. Cromwell Family is very popular amongst the common masses due to their impartial nature. The family head, Vincent is a man of noble stature. He treats all equally and values talent to the utmost degree. While commoners typically could not enroll in prestigious academies, this changed when he rose to power 10 years ago. Vincent¡¯s first order was to allow everyone the right to attend the academy as long as they are talented enough. While some view this decision in disdain, mostly aristocrats that did not want to mingle with the common people, many praised this effort as revolutionary and the most important step to bolster the city¡¯s growth. However, even with the newly instituted order many still had valid complaints. Such as the minimum cultivation requirement was Martial Practitioner level 1. While this was not a problem for aristocrats and nobles with their massive wealth, commoners even with great talent would not be able to reach that standard. Nevertheless, with its new policy, the Zarion Academy grew exponentially with its influence becoming second to none. A group of five youths arrived at the academy grounds. Before going inside, they changed their clothes to school uniforms. The uniforms are black with green lines and on the right shoulder is an insignia of a jade dragon. This insignia is the symbol of Zarion Academy. Only one of the youths had a different insignia, it was a silver crow. This group of youths are Aron and his juniors. They headed straight inside through the designated entrance for students and proceeded to head straight to the southern compound before they separated. The southern compound was the location of the Pill Refining division. Refining division is one of the 4 major divisions in the academy, the rest being Forgery Division, Medical Division and Duel Division. Each Division is given a large compound for them to conduct their activities. Aron and Curt headed to a large building, the sign says ¡°Refining Headquarters¡±. Aron entered and was greeted by an exceedingly handsome man. ¡°Welcome back¡±, the man was dressed in a white garb that had streaks of green around the back. His aura was was graceful and exude a warm sensation. He was like the opposite of Zhang Wei, with his imposing manner and beast like aura. ¡°Master Vincent, your disciple greets you.¡±, yes this is Vincent, the head of the Cromwell Family and also the headmaster of Zarion Academy. ¡°Did you accomplish the task that I gave you?¡±, Vincent inquired. If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. ¡°Your disciple was fortunate to acquire the carcass, however some circumstances occurred.¡±, Aron proceeded to recount everything that had transpired, he recollected everything from the group being surrounded to the appearance of the White Wolf Alpha and the ¡®squashing¡¯ that occurred. His master¡¯s expression looked like he was deep in thought. After a solemn moment, he turned to Aron and Curt and said, ¡°From what you have explained, this man seems to be at least on par with me. We should be courteous to him and tend to him politely.¡±, Vincent is a very calculative man, he would never underestimate anyone, not even a child. Based on what Aron has said, this Zhang Wei should not be provoked and must be kept on surveillance as it was highly unlikely for an expert of his level would just come for no reason. He called for one of his attendants and passed off an order, ¡°If you encounter a man named Zhang Wei, make sure to treat him with utmost hospitality.¡±, his attendant respectively bowed and left the room. Vincent continued to discuss with his disciples, ¡°Are you sure the man that followed you is this Zhang Wei?¡±, Vincent was wondering this, how could a man with no trace of spirit energy suddenly explode with power? ¡°Very sure. He followed us for quite a while and we recognized his attire. The weird thing is that, before we were ambushed, his presence was easily traced. However, after he helped us, it was difficult for us to keep track of his positioning with our perception.¡±, Aron found it weird while they were in the forest¡¯s inner layer, they could not detect whenever Zhang Wei moved to take care of a wild beast. This proved to be quite troublesome as they had to wait for Zhang Wei to come back to them before moving. ¡°Very likely that he had a skill or treasure that could mask his spirit energy.¡±. Martial Practitioners did not inherently have the ability to conceal their spirit energy. Only with specific treasure or rare skills could they have the ability to conceal their presence and aura, one of which is [Perception Block], the inherent skill of the Assassin class. Specialized classes were only accessible to Martial Practitioners that have reached level 6 and were very hard to acquire. Even the city only had 6 individuals with specialized classes. Vincent being one of them. However, one thing did not make sense to him. Assassin class focuses more on agility than strength. From the incident with the White Wolf Alpha, it would make more sense for Zhang Wei to be apart of the Berserker class. As Vincent was pondering, Curt interrupted him and said, ¡°Master, that expert wishes to meet with you.¡± Vincent was quite surprised, ¡°Meet me? Does he know me?¡±. While he did not know the full strength of Zhang Wei, there was no harm in meeting him to acquire more information. ¡°Fine, I shall meet him at once. However, before we go, tell me your opinions on him.¡±, he wanted to know what his youngest disciple¡¯s impression of this man. His youngest disciple is a proud individual and was not easily amazed. Curt looked a bit shy before saying. ¡°Well.. I think that he is very handsome.¡± Chapter 8: Like A Wimp ¡°Handsome?¡±, Vincent could not believe what Curt had said. This disciple of his, from his knowledge had never been this reserved. How handsome must that man be to make him all shy. Is he the reincarnation of an angel? Aron almost coughed a mouthful of blood. In what way is Zhang Wei attractive? A bloated corpse is a million times more attractive than that man. Heck! I would even marry a bug if you gave me a choice. And looking at you junior brother, why are you so shy? Did he cast an illusion skill on you, To make him look like a beautiful girl? Curt realizing that he was acting weird, snapped out of it and explained to his master, ¡°Master, Sir Zhang Wei¡¯s aura and ability was majestic. That kind of abilities had some sort of charm that could captivate any individual.¡±, Sure enough, Author¡¯s words could make anything possible. Curt was enthralled by Zhang Wei. ¡°Alright then, let us move on and seek this Sir Zhang Wei.¡±, Vincent was now actually quite amused, to make his disciple like this, that man must be extraordinary. Aron on the other hand was grim. He was worried about what would happen to his junior brother if he was exposed further to that man Zhang Wei. ¨C Zhang Wei at this moment, had already finished his meal. He never thought that he could eat that much and was surprised at how hungry he was. He was actually surprised by the food that they served. The steak that was made from a One Horned Cow actually helped him regain all of his spiritual energy. He could even feel that he was more refreshed after having a sip of that wine. He asked the waiter, and the waiter told him that wine was made from honey that was made by Level 2 Grim Honeybees. If a restaurant like this that made Aron¡¯s group feel ashamed to take him to, one could only imagine how good the food is at the more high end restaurants. As he was drinking the wine, he noticed that although he could feel his spirit replenished, he could not ascertain by how much. Stump at what to do, he asked the system for a solution, ¡°Hey system, how do I know how much spirit energy I lost and gain back?¡±. Seemingly annoyed at Zhang Wei¡¯s question, the system replied, ¡°You don¡¯t even know that? Well now I know why even the heavens took pity on you. Well there is an option to allow you too see the exact value of your spirit energy in your status. However, that option will make you look like a wimp.¡±, Zhang Wei could not care less about being called a wimp by the system. His abuse at the hands of Author was ten times worse. He opened up his status and looked through it, he found the option and wanted to activate, but a weird warning made him hesitate. ¡®Enabling this option will make you look like a wimp¡¯. Is the system messing around with me or will my actual appearance look like a wimp?. He finally relented and enabled the option.A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. _ Level: 2 Race: Human STR: 60/60 AGI: 60/60 SP: 60/60 DEX: 60/60 DEF: 60/60 LCK: -30 Title: None Skills: [Beast Pressure] Remarks: You now look like a wimp. _ Again ignoring the remarks, he wondered why all the other attributes had /60. Did this mean that his strength could be reduced through usage or that there was a skill that can reduce attributes? And why was luck the only skill that does not have this? As he was trying to make sense of the system''s capabilities, he realized that the system needed time to fully comprehend, so he decided to left it for another time. He was waiting for Aron and his group to come back, so he ordered another jar of wine. A while later, Aron along with Curt and Vincent arrived at the restaurant. They went over to Zhang Wei¡¯s table and called out for him. Vincent who had a high expectation towards Zhang Wei could not help but be bewildered. Is this ugly and wimpy looking person that godly expert that my disciples were talking about? Why does he look so weak and pathetic? Even Aron and Curt was dumbfounded. How could Zhang Wei change so much? They just left him for about an hour. While he still had an imposing aura, he looked very much like a wimp now. Zhang Wei saw the look in their eyes and instantly noticed that something was wrong. Motherf*cker system! I didn¡¯t expect that you would make me look wimpy to everyone else! He immediately undid the option and coughed lightly. Vincent and his disciples snapped out of it and saw that Zhang Wei suddenly became imposing again. They held back their shock and dismissed it as their imagination. Vincent started to greet Zhang Wei, ¡°Greeting Sir. I heard that Sir wished to meet me. Pardon me for asking, have we had an encounter before?¡±, Vincent greeted Zhang Wei as politely as possible. Zhang Wei saw Vincent and was tongue tied. Sh*t, I forgot that I asked that. I only did it to ensure that Aron came back. And where the heck did he come from? Why is he too handsome? Are all master and students in this world handsome? Where is the justice in this cruel world? Although Zhang Wei was indignant, his facial expression did not change a single bit, ¡°We have not. This Humble Man was only wondering why you needed that White Wolf Carcass.¡±, Zhang Wei was pulling questions from his ass and hoped that this handsome man would want to keep it a secret and go. Little did he realize that Vincent thought that Zhang Wei was probing him, It seems that this man is truly an expert. His facial expression is composed and he even tried to probe me. If that¡¯s how you want to play, then allow me to oblige. Vincent smiled and said, ¡°If good Sir would like to know, I invite you to see the pill that I will refine.¡±. You may try to probe me, but I will obtain all the information about you. Zhang Wei frowned, he did not expect this man to invite him to his place. For F*cks sake, Why can¡¯t all these people leave me alone? Am I too handsome? Am I so great that you¡¯re amazed by me and do not want to leave my side? ¡°This Humble Man agrees to follow you¡±. Chapter 9: Failed? Zhang Wei followed Vincent and his disciples back to the academy. As they passed through the official entryway, a lot of students were looking at them. The headmaster was a hidden figure, and those unimportant people barely saw him. They noticed that the headmaster was leading a man towards the southern compound, most probably towards the Refining Division headquarters. Since the man was personally led by the headmaster, he should be an important personnel, right? But they all wondered, why is that man so ugly? Zhang Wei didn¡¯t realize that Vincent is the headmaster of a prestigious academy. When they arrived at the academy grounds, he never expected that the guards would bow to them. He never knew he ever despised a man so much as he did with Vincent. You¡¯re filthy rich, strong and smart? Ptui! A man like you should die so the rest of us can experience the good life. They strolled to the Refining Headquarters building as Vincent took the opportunity to introduce the school to Zhang Wei. After arriving at his personal refining room, Vincent took out the White Wolf carcass. ¡°Sir Zhang Wei asked me what pill I would Refine with the White Wolf carcass. My answer is the Bone Strengthening Pill. As you may imagine by its name, Bone Strengthening Pill can strengthen a person¡¯s skeletal system. This pill is a Level 2 pill and can increase a person¡¯s chances at reaching Level 3 by 50%¡±, Vincent explained while he was refining. ¡°White Wolf carcass is only one of the ingredients needed for this pill. Even though I could have any of my followers acquire it, I wanted to test Aron¡¯s abilities in the wild. My only miscalculation was that they would be surrounded by a pack of White Wolves, and a White Wolf Alpha would be present. I must thank you again for saving my disciples.¡± Vincent then focused completely on refining the pill. He threw the ingredients carefully into a big cauldron and controlled the flames. The flames flickered and soared from the cauldron. Vincent proficiently controlled the flames before concentrating them into the shape of a small sphere. The sphere took shape and the pill was formed. It was a white pill that had black lines resembling the shape of a bone. Zhang Wei was impressed, Vincent looked extremely cool refining that pill. Holy Sh*t that was badass! Maybe if I could learn pill refining, I would also look that badass. While Zhang Wei was thinking of nonsense, Vincent grab hold of the pill and passed it to Aron, ¡°Though you did not accomplish my intended task, you did however bravely stood up to protect your junior brother. Thus, I shall award you this pill.¡±This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience. Aron was pleased. Although he was worried that his master would not give him the pill because he failed his task, he was relieved that his master noticed his valor. He kept the pill inside his bag and was determined to break through Level 3 the next time he cultivate. Vincent then invited Zhang Wei to the headquarter¡¯s courtyard for tea. At this point, Zhang Wei snapped out of his daydream and said, ¡°Could Mr Vincent be so kind as to teach this Humble Man pill refining?¡±. Vincent clearly did not expect that Zhang Wei would ask that. What kind of trick is this? Looks like he is trying to provoke me. Fine I¡¯ll play along. ¡°Sir Zhang, pill refining is an arduous process. Without sufficient training, it would result in complete failure.¡±, Vincent knew that Zhang Wei is trying to show off his skills to intimidate him. He would not allow Zhang Wei to have the upper hand. ¡°It¡¯s fine Mr Vincent, this Humble Man simply wished to try.¡±, Zhang Wei was truly sincere in his attempt to learn pill refining. Although the source of his determination was questionable, he truly wanted to learn. Vincent seeing that Zhang Wei insisted, simply gave in. Well at least it can help me understand his abilities better. He started to teach Zhang Wei the fundamentals of pill refining. From his explanation, Zhang Wei came to understand that the essence of pill refining is the control of the flame. Ingredients may be important, but the flame determines the process of refining. Vincent also informed Zhang Wei of the various ranks of pill refiners. Pill refiners followed the same level system as Martial Practitioners. They even have their very own specialized class, Alchemist. However, this class can only be reached after one has broken through Level 10 pill refiner. Vincent himself was only at Level 6 pill refiner. In the city the only people that have surpassed him are Micheal, the pill refiner for city hall and Syamil, the head of the Refining Division. Micheal and Syamil are both level 8 pill refiners. Zhang Wei appreciated Vincent¡¯s sincerity and developed a better impression of him. He¡¯s not so bad I guess. I only hate him a bit now. After listening to Vincent, Zhang Wei asked to borrow Vincent¡¯s pill formula and ingredients. Vincent agreed and after looking through them, Zhang Wei chose a Level 3 pill, Blood Restore Pill. Vincent studied Zhang Wei¡¯s actions carefully. He figured that since Zhang Wei chose a Level 3 pill, he had sufficient ability to do so. He must have asked me to teach him to figure out my understanding of pill refining. It was not wrong of me to intentionally hold back, at least he can¡¯t figure out my true level. Still though, his way of probing is roundabout and complicated. A powerful man must have a powerful mind. Zhang Wei studied the formula carefully. He went through all the ingredients he needed, and started refining. He threw all the ingredients into the cauldron, and started to micromanage the flames. When he tried to condense the flames¡ KABOOM!!!! The cauldron exploded. ¡°¡.¡± Vincent frowned, This man must be a genius!! Chapter 10: Quest Zhang Wei thought grimly, how the heck did it explode? I followed everything Vincent said perfectly. After not being able to think of a solution, Zhang Wei asked the system, ¡°Hey sh*tty system, is there a mistake in my refinement method?¡±. System¡¯s mechanical voice replied, ¡°User¡¯s method is flawed and is heavily reliant on luck. Normal people typically only need 1 point of luck to succeed with a Level 1 refinement. However, user¡¯s luck is pretty much equal to dogsh*t. It¡¯s better if you do not refine anything, lest it takes away your pitiful life.¡± Ignoring the system again, he finally noticed his problem. So it¡¯s my luck huh. I have always wondered why my luck despite being a -30 did not have any effect yet. Turns out any action that requires luck will be an automatic fail.Zhang Wei felt gloomy. If this situation continued, it was possible that he could not even refine anything in his lifetime. Then he remembered that Author is an omnipotent being that could change reality. He thought of threatening the Author, but based on the Author¡¯s personality, the Author would just make it worse. He decided to just beg. ¡°Oi sh*tty Author, make can¡¯t you make my luck better? How am I suppose to make an incredible saga if I can¡¯t even do something as simple as pill refining?¡±. Author¡¯s excited voice rang, ¡°Zhang Wei feeling helpless at his failure in pill refining, decided to beg God for a solution. However, seeing that he was terrible at begging, he made God think that Zhang Wei was threatening Him. As such, God decreed that Zhang Wei can only refine pills through the system. However, every time he refines a pill, his appearance at the time will look horrifyingly ugly.¡± F*ck! How the heck did this happen? Was my masterful begging not sympathetic? How horrible will I look if I become horrifyingly ugly? F*ck this damn Author. Zhang Wei did not want to even imagine his appearance when refines pills in the future. His only option now is to refine when no one is watching, especially women. Vincent viewed Zhang Wei¡¯s pill refining failure in a different light. This man must have intentionally failed in order to throw me off. A pity! I have seen through all your ruse.To be fair, Vincent could not be blamed, as he saw that Zhang Wei¡¯s flame control proficiency was top notch. Even the Refining Division head had lesser proficiency compared to Zhang Wei. As such, he concluded that Zhang Wei purposely condensed the flame too much until it exploded. Since Zhang Wei had tried to mislead him, he must take the initiative. If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. ¡°It seems that Sir Zhang Wei had a little bit of an accident.¡±, he must make Zhang Wei think that he is looking down on Zhang Wei¡¯s abilities. ¡°If Sir Zhang Wei wants to try again, please help yourself¡±. If he accepts, then I will gouge out his true nature. Zhang Wei frowned internally and did not accept the invitation, ¡°It seems that this Humble man is not proficient in pill refining. This Humble Man will abstain from trying again to not cause a scene¡±. No way in hell am I going to show my horrifying ugliness to other people, he thought solemnly. Vincent did not insist and invited Zhang Wei to tea again. This time, Zhang Wei accepted. Vincent then dismissed Aron and Curt, and led Zhang Wei to the courtyard. They spent the duration of the time with idle chatter and Zhang Wei asked for information regarding the current state of affairs and rumors about the noble family. It was during this chatter that a woman came to the courtyard and greeted them. ¡°Greetings headmaster and noble guest¡±. The woman was around 5¡¯5 ft and wore a blue robe, the robe bored the same design as the headmaster¡¯s and fitted perfectly with her figure. Her face was smooth and was very beautiful resembling a supermodel. She came to the table uninvited and sat across the headmaster. The headmaster¡¯s expression turned sour. Clearly he did not fancy this woman. ¡°Greetings Division head Nar, to what do I owe the pleasure?¡±, Nar smiled and replied, ¡°I heard that headmaster personally led a guest to the Refining Division headquarters. I told myself that as the head of the Medical Division, I had to greet the noble guest.¡±, Nar smiled at Zhang Wei. Zhang Wei was delighted to see the beautiful woman smile at him. Such a beautiful woman, she must have been captivated by this Humble Man and wishes to get closer to me. Oh woe is me, why did I have to be so handsome. It seems women can¡¯t seem to just leave me alone. It truly is a crime to be so magnificent. Nar started to converse with Zhang Wei and headmaster. Throughout the conversation, she maintained a calm demeanor while the usually calm headmaster was looking a bit reserved. Unfortunately, Zhang Wei did not notice anything amiss and was merely enthralled with looking at this beautiful woman. After a long idle chatter, Zhang Wei decided to go back. He greeted the beautiful lady and the headmaster once more before seemingly disappeared. The headmaster and Nar saw the speed in which Zhang Wei left and had curious looks on their faces. Outside the academy, Zhang Wei stopped. He finally breathed a cold air of relief. Being in that academy while trying to maintain a calm disposition was taking a toll on him. He could not wait to go back and rest. Before he could do anything, Author¡¯s voice rang again, ¡°Zhang Wei realized the strange atmosphere between the Division Head Nar and the headmaster. He decided that for the sake of the city, he must investigate the situation carefully and absolve any conflict that might occur.¡± Zhang Wei screamed in his heart, F*cking sh*tty Author! Chapter 11: Steal Some Lolipops Zhang Wei was now thoroughly pissed. F*cking sh*tty Author, can you not calm down and let me have a rest first! It¡¯s only my first day in this new world! And how do you expect me to infiltrate that academy? Both the students and teachers already saw my face. Am I suppose to be a bug? Zhang Wei had not even finished with his complaint when Author¡¯s voice rang again. ¡°However, Zhang Wei was in a bind. Everyone already knew him and he could not possibly be able to escape the detection of so many experts. Just as he was flustered, an answer came from the heavens.¡± DING! ¡°Congratulations user, the heavens have decided to give you a quest. Completing this quest will award you with a Face Concealing Mask. Be glad, now you don¡¯t have to be stuck with that ugly face forever.¡± After receiving that notification, Zhang Wei screamed in his mind. He could not possibly fight the Author¡¯s words, but could still curse at him in his heart, You piece of dogsh*t Author! Just wait till I get powerful enough to choke you! F*ck your mother and f*ck your sister. Your whole nine generations are pieces of sh*ts. After soothing his anger by cursing out the Author, Zhang Wei opened up his status to check the quest. _ Quest : Courageous hero/Petty thief Quest Detail: To successfully infiltrate Zarion Academy, Zhang Wei must steel his mind to ensure he is completely prepared for any situation. Go to the forest and defeat 100 Level 3 wild beasts to understand your abilities, you must control your strength and make sure they are not squashed. / Go to the market lane, and steal 5 lollipops from little kids. Quest Reward: Face Concealing Mask. Quest Deadline: 1 day. _ Zhang Wei saw the quest details and cursed again. Sh*tty system can¡¯t you give me a break, what is with this disparity?! The first choice wants me to kill freaking 100 Level 3 wild beasts! You think I¡¯m stupid? Ignoring the fact how tired I will be, how many Level 3 wild beasts do you think there are? One level 3 wild beast wild beast would be a leader of a region in the forest. It¡¯s highly unlikely that I will find a bunch of them grouped up like that. Even if I were to be so lucky to find them, how the heck do I control my strength? I squashed a White Wolf Alpha by lightly punching it! And that was before I leveled up!The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation. Zhang Wei could not believe the requirement of that quest. Whats even worse was that he is only given a day to complete it. Does the system expect him to run all night in the forest? Despite that, the second option was even more absurd than the first one. Are you trying to destroy my reputation entirely? Stealing 5 freaking lollipops? You think I¡¯m such a small time crook? You know what, f*cking fine, I¡¯ll show you how petty I can be, you think I would be scared about ruining my already trash reputation? Well scared your sister, I¡¯ll steal all the stupid lollipops. What do you have to say about that huh! Huh! HUH!! While Zhang Wei was frustrated, he still saw a glimpse of hope, at least after he had completed the mission, he would be able to change his face using the mask. But like an idiot, he forgot that the system would never be so merciful. Ding! ¡°User must be made aware that the Face Concealing Mask can only be used on Zarion Academy grounds. When the user is away from Zarion Academy, the mask will be completely useless.¡± SH*TTTTTTTT! He lost all hope. Even if he was not bawling, tears streamed down his face. NO! he told himself. There must be a loophole, What if I. Ding! Ding! Ding! For every loophole Zhang Wei could think of, the system will include new rules to counter them. Zhang Wei felt indignant. F*ck it! See if I care. With a heavy heart he headed down to the market lane. The market place was an amazing location. Rows of shops made the place lively and filled with people. One could see all sorts of people, from commoners who walked to nobles who who rode on carriages. With heavy security, the people were not concerned with their safety or getting into violence. After all, to become a security guard in the middle district required one to at least be a Level 2 Martial Practitioner. Zhang Wei saw an empty bench on the side of the road and sat down, he needed to observe his situation and locate his ¡®targets¡¯. He looked around and saw a small boy sitting across him on the other side of the street. The boy was holding what he was targeting. A lollipop! Zhang Wei stood up and walked towards the boy. Each step of his was heavy and felt like sinking deeper into quicksand. He arrived in front of the boy, with a mean expression. The child looked up to him with confusion on his face almost as if saying, Is there a problem Mister? His innocent eyes made Zhang Wei hesitate, but thinking back to the first option of the quest, he steeled his heart and snatched the lollipop from the boy¡¯s hand. The boy was startled but soon processed what happened. Tears started to well up in his eyes and soon he started to cry loudly. His crying attracted gazes from the people around them and when they saw the situation, they started to chatter. Looking at the boy crying and Zhang Wei holding a lollipop in his hands, they could more or less guess what had happened. Words like, ¡°Omg did he really do that to a child¡± ¡ ¡°I cannot believe such a terrible person existed¡± ¡ ¡°He is such a shameless individual¡± ¡ ¡°Scum¡±, flew into Zhang Wei¡¯s ears. He felt like crying. Not wasting even a single second, he ran away as quickly as possible. When people saw how fast he was, they were even more disgusted. An expert like that stole a lollipop from a child? Rumors then started to spread. Chapter 12: Caught In a small tavern located in the town square, a man is enjoying a drink. This man wore a long black robe that covered his whole body, not a single area exposed his skin. In front of him is an already warm jar of beer, it seemed like it had been sitting there, untouched. He was quite reserved in his actions, whatever he did, he made sure to not let anyone see how he looked like. While he sat there, he was listening in on the conversation of two women sitting on the table beside him. ¡°Have you heard, there seems to be an ugly bad person going around stealing lollipops from kids all around the middle district.¡±, the woman¡¯s mocking tone sounded. ¡°Gosh, what a scumbag. Why haven¡¯t the security force issued an arrest warrant? He should be expelled from the middle district.¡±, the other woman¡¯s eyes were full of contempt. In her view, no matter how terrible you are, you should not be stealing candy from kids. ¡°Apparently, he is an expert. You remember Andrew right? He said that that man was at least a Level 4 Martial Practitioner, Andrew couldn¡¯t even catch up to him even if he tried. Anyway, he didn¡¯t actually do any serious crime, so the security force did not want to offend an expert by putting an arrest warrant for stealing a lollipops from children.¡±, the woman said as she took a sip of her drink. ¡°Well sure but, ¡ it sure is pathetic isn¡¯t it? I mean if you¡¯re an expert of that level, surely there has to be a better use for your abilities, right?¡±, she did not understand. An expert of that level would typically have a high ranking job in the city. Is stealing lollipops from kids that fun? ¡°Beats me. He must be a weirdo I guess.¡± The man in the black robe listened to to two women¡¯s conversation and turned sour. That¡¯s right, this is the man those women were talking about, Zhang Wei. Too think that I stooped to this level. Sigh. It wasn¡¯t his fault, it was the quest ¡ is what he wanted to scream. However, he knew that he could not explain, what was he going to say? The great heavens gave me quest to steal five lollipops from kids? He would get scorned at if he tried that. Speaking of the quest, he had almost finished it. As of now, he had acquired a total of 4 lollipops. The second and third lollipops he acquired from twins who were in a playground, meanwhile the fourth was acquired from a little girl who was waiting outside a store for her parents, in the market square. He took a break since his mind was breaking down from the mental stress, which is when he saw this tavern. He sneakily stole a black robe from a nearby store and went inside. He didn¡¯t even buy a drink, he merely used his speed to steal one and sneakily hid in a corner. Apparently his thieving tendencies are starting to develop.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road. After some time, he he saw that the sun was starting to go down. Since he thought that kids were harder to find at night, he had to finish the quest now. He went out of the tavern and went back to the lane where he stole the first lollipop. To his surprise, the street still had many people moving about. He was observing the crowd when he spotted a little boy, with a bright look on his face. The boy held a lollipop and was sitting on a bench on the side of a street. Wait a minute! That¡¯s the same kid I stole the first lollipop from. Well since you¡¯re here ¡ Forgive me child, for I will sin. The quest detail didn¡¯t say that he needed to get 5 lollipops from 5 different kids. So it was technically alright to steal from the same child. Doing as he did before, he went in front of the kid with a mean look. The boy¡¯s innocent face suddenly turned sour, is this deja vu? His face seemingly knew what was going to happen. As soon as Zhang Wei snatched the lollipop, the boy cried immediately. Everyone around them turned their eyes towards the boy and noticed something familiar, Don¡¯t tell me it¡¯s happening again? Mr expert for someone of your level, why are you stealing lollipops from children? And why did you steal from the same child twice, do you have a grudge against that child? Zhang Wei felt like daggers were stabbing at him as he noticed their expressions. He tucked his head down and prepared to run away, before out of nowhere a person grabbed his robe. That person shouted, ¡°Filthy scum! how dare you bully a child.¡± He did not actually grab ahold of the Zhang Wei, but he did manage to rip off Zhang Wei¡¯s robe. When he looked up to see this scumbag¡¯s face, he was shocked, ¡°Sir Zhang?¡±. Turns out the person who tore off Zhang Wei¡¯s robe was the very person he saved earlier, Weakling 1. Fuck out of all the people who could have seen me it¡¯s this (The real Author still could not give half a sh*t to name him) Weakling 1. Zhang Wei felt dizzy, his mind suddenly thought of a plan. He grabbed Weakling 1 by the collar and ran away from the scene. Everyone round them were befuddled, What just happened? Zhang Wei took Weakling 1 to a back alley and thought about what to do with him. Since this idiot recognizes me, I have to make sure word doesn¡¯t get out. Should I kill him? Nah, that would lead to an even bigger problem. Hmmm ¡ Alright, let¡¯s do this then. Zhang Wei thought as an evil smirked appeared. Chapter 13: Companion In a dark back alley, there were 2 men in completely different situations. One man, a youth, is trembling on the ground, hair disheveled and scared out of his wits. The other man, an old looking youth, is standing above him, with a devious look and creepy vibes surrounding him. The scared man could not muster up courage to even let out a sound, his throat felt dry as if all the water has been sucked out. However, this youth named Weakling 1 could not be blamed, as he was only Level 1, his physical stats could not cope with Zhang Wei¡¯s speed. Although he was completely frightened, he did not feel regret, instead he felt like he was a very virtuous person. Alas, for a noble person like me, this is a cruel but justified ending. Even if I had to rewind the situation, I would still have stopped Sir Zhang Wei. Sigh, my own undoing is my extremely virtuous and excellent self. Oh great heavens, why have you given this noble soul such a big caring heart. ¡. Unexpectedly, this idiot had an even bigger and thicker skin than Zhang Wei. To make matters worse, even the real Author could not believe how thick skinned this Weakling 1 is. As such, he decided to give this man a very special name, very fitting for his character, Asyraaf. At this very moment, Zhang Wei was staring deeply at Asyraaf. He was still trying to weigh all the options, either kill this idiot or make him ¡®forget¡¯ the incident. As killing him would very likely result in problems with his infiltration if it were found out, he decided on the second option, make him ¡®forget¡¯. There are a lot of ways to make people forget certain things, psychological pressure could work, but that requires instilling trauma into Asyraaf and he was not adept at mental tactics. So that leaves physical persuasion, which to put in simple terms, simply giving the person¡¯s head, a quick but non lethal, ¡®tap¡¯. What caught Zhang Wei off guard was that even though Asyraaf seemed frightened and was trembling, his eyes did not show even a hint of regret. His eyes looked resolute, and Zhang Wei thought of something. ¡°I¡¯ll give you chance to give me a reason to not silence you.¡±, before he proceed with the ¡®tap¡¯ method, he would see what sort of person this Asyraaf is. Seeing that Zhang Wei was possibly going to spare him, Asyraaf thought of what to say, Should I beg for mercy or should I take a risky bet? ¡ risky bet it is. After thinking it through, Zhang Wei would likely frown if he were to bow down and beg for mercy. He decided to take the riskiest gamble of his life, ¡°Oh great Sir Zhang Wei, this lowly person does not dare question great Sir¡¯s decisions. However, this lowly person is humble, virtuous and extremely noble. My great qualities are gifts that the great heavens have sent and are only overshadowed by my great kindness. So if Sir is willing, please spare my life so that the world would not miss out on my amazing virtues. The world will surely thank Sir Zhang.¡±, Asyraaf said this with a sincere smile on his face. His plan was simple, convince Zhang Wei that he was a noble person, surely Zhang Wei would be captivated by him.The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. Zhang Wei looked at this idiot with disdain. How could there exist a person so out of touch with reality, does he think that he is a saint that the world treasures? How thick is this guy¡¯s skin? I have never met a person so shameless that they would call themselves humble and virtuous. Should I just kill him? I¡¯m sure I would do this world a favor if I dispose of this thick skinned bastard. It was amazing how similar Zhang Wei and Asyraaf were. So much so that Author¡¯s excited voice rang. ¡°Having sensed that this Asyraaf¡¯s self conceited personality matched well with his, Zhang Wei not only decided to not forcibly silence Asyraaf, but made him his first valuable ally and companion.¡± Zhang Wei almost coughed blood. Why in the hell would I make this fool my important ally? Do you think I am that insane?, despite his utter disdain at the fact that he had to spare this fool, he actually respected the fact that Asyraaf was very true to himself ¡ Wait a minute? Did I actually thought that I respected him?! Am I turning into a fool as well?! It seems that the Author could force Zhang Wei to adopt a certain mindset as he pleases. However, it could not fully affect Zhang Wei due to him being self aware of his situation. He made a mental note to himself to stay vigilant. Since the Author had spoken, Zhang Wei must oblige, he raised his head and looked at Asyraaf, with a warm expression, ¡°Well said, you have made this Humble Man impressed with your very noble self. This Humble Man wonders if you would provide assistance to this Humble Man¡¯s cause.¡± , Zhang Wei almost puked when he said those words. He then started to spew bullsh*t continuously from his mouth. From making an excuse for stealing lollipops to his intention to infiltrate the academy. Asyraaf listened closely to what Zhang Wei said and nodded, ¡°So it¡¯s like that. I knew that Sir Zhang is a virtuous person, so there had to be a good reason. Regarding Sir¡¯s cause, this lowly noble person would gladly help Sir Zhang accomplish his mission. Yeah right! Like I believe a single word that you have just said. You expect me to believe that the reason that you stole lollipops from kids was for a justifiable cause? HMM ¡ you smell that? It smells like bullsh*t. Although he Asyraaf knew it was all farce, he did not exactly have a choice here. Although he was not sincere in his offer of assistance, he wholeheartedly believed that since he had promised something, he would definitely deliver. Zhang Wei smiled and said, ¡°Good, now tell me how do I enroll in the academy?¡± Chapter 14: Restrict Break of dawn. The morning sun rose up to shine its light upon the world, birds chirping and the warm breeze brush up against one cheeks. Zhang Wei woke up on his bed. Though he was awake, he did not get up just yet, first he stared at the ceiling as looked back at the crazy day he had yesterday. In one day, he went from an average joe to an expert with strength capable of awing millions. He then got up from bed and without heaving breakfast, went out towards middle district. He had agreed to meet up with Asyraaf at a restaurant in the market square. When he arrived at middle district, he saw a familiar scene, the streets were filled with people even this early in the morning. As he walked by, he made sure to completely cover his face and increased his vigilance, he obviously didn¡¯t want the same incident as yesterday to happen again. As his pace was quite fast, he reached the restaurant in no time at all. He went inside and saw Asyraaf sitting in a table for two. He walked up to him and saw the table was full of food. The food was appealing and exuded a smell that would make anyone¡¯s mouth water. Zhang Wei sat across Asyraaf and they had a small chat before starting to eat. Throughout the meal, they discussed their plan again and again until it was fully engraved in their minds. Zhang Wei¡¯s plan was fairly simple, from what Asyraaf explained, there would be an assessment to determine the students capabilities. The assessment would include testing ones strength, aptitude, agility, spirit energy and level. One only needed to pass 3 of them to be officially enrolled as a student. For each test, there are minimum requirements that the candidate should achieve in order to pass. The candidates must be 16 years old and under to qualify, however if the candidate is over 16 and has great talent, then the academy would make an exception. Zhang Wei was initially not worried at all about the assessment, but when he thought about it again, he started to worry a little bit. What would happen if he showed his actual abilities? At present, he was not able to control his immense strength and agility. If he could, then the lollipop theft situation would not have been so sensational, a random petty thief would not be able to create a storm an expert petty thief would. He then started to actually regret not choosing the Courageous hero option, as that would have made the perfect training for him. Seeing no other solution, he turned to the system, ¡°Hey system, is there a way for me to successfully lower my stats?¡±. DING! ¡°Why would you want to do that? The reason the great heavens even gave you powerful stats was to make up for your other trash qualities.¡± The system sounded annoyingly, ¡°Well, there is a way, however it is not recommended for the user to do so. That is by using using the Level 3 Restriction Pill. Restriction Pill can forcefully allow you to halve your strength with each consumption. For you to match an average candidate, you would have to consume 3 pills. Do be warned that once you consume the pills, you cannot reverse the restriction until the set amount of time has passed.¡±This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. It was basically a double edged sword. While it can allow Zhang Wei to successfully infiltrate the academy, if an unfavorable situation occurred, he would not have the ability to defend himself. Since he did not want to waste time to training, he simply decided to consume the pill. ¡°Alright, system what materials do I need to refine the pill?¡± DING! ¡°Since the system is going to refine the pills, any pill that is lower than Level 6 will not require any materials.¡± Zhang Wei was exhilarated. Wow! How Overpowered is this system? I guess that name is not wasted. Not having to waste any time or effort to collect materials made Zhang Wei joyful. In an instant, 3 pills were formed and appeared in Zhang Wei¡¯s hand. The appearance of the Restriction Pills are different than Bone Strengthening Pill. Compared to the Bone Strengthening Pill, this pill had an even more refined aura and the design is even more striking. The pill was blue, with spiral shapes covering the surface. There were also ripple marks that made the pills seem even more precious. Zhang Wei did not waste time and immediately consumed the three pills. He felt his body heat up and ripples of power was bursting inside of him, after a while felt his strength fading, and his body felt weak. Calming down a bit, he then opened up his status. _ Level: 2 Race: Human STR: 7 (Restricted) AGI: 7 (Restricted) SP: 60 DEX: 7 (Restricted) DEF: 7 (Restricted) LCK: -30 Skills: [Beast Pressure](Restricted) Remarks: Please don¡¯t get yourself killed while you are weak. You know what, on second thought, just die already, this world will be more beautiful with one less ugly around. _ Zhang Wei clicked his tongue at the remark and cursed the system in his heart. He then wondered why his spirit energy and luck was not restricted. Is the pill flawed? But that can''t be the case since the system was the one who refined it. He came to the conclusion that spirit energy can be exhausted and a typical Martial Practitioner would usually have higher spirit energy compared to their other stats. Zhang Wei and Asyraaf finished their food and headed straight for Zarion Academy. As Asyraaf was already a student here, he showed Zhang Wei the assessment area before going to the southern compound. He had other duties to attend to at the Refining Division. Zhang Wei bid him goodbye and went to the assessment area. At the assessment area, Zhang Wei saw a white building with the sign, ¡®Admittance Department¡¯. As he was briefed before by Asyraaf, he went inside to sign up. Just as he was in front of the reception lady, a loud voice boomed behind him, ¡°Move out of the way peasant!¡± Zhang Wei heard that and frowned. Don¡¯t tell me a cliched brainless antagonist just appeared. Chapter 15: Trash Zarion Academy is currently filled with people, there were a lot of people waiting for the assessment to begin with. It had to be known that Zarion Academy, being the most influential academy, had countless people coming daily to try their luck. To ensure that they do not miss any talented individuals, Zarion Academy was lax in their participation rules. Besides the rule that one had to be 16 years old an under and must be at least Level 1, they allowed the participant to take the assessment as many times as they please. Thus, participants who failed the previous assessment could come everyday to try their luck again. Although nobles were the usual assessment participants, there were also quite a few commoners, some came from wealthy families and some had great talent. In the main building of the Assessment Department, a voice had shouted loudly. This voice belonged to a youth who looked to be around 16 years old. The youth wore a fancy attire that had an insignia on the left shoulder. The insignia bore the symbol of a white tiger, while it was normal for a noble family to have an insignia, only the 10 most powerful families have animal symbols as their guardian spirit. The white tiger is the symbol of the Rosswein Family. Rosswein Family is a very influential Family, second only to the Cromwell Family. The Rosswein Family members occupy most of the high ranking positions in the city council, and the city mayor, is the head of the Rosswein Family. The only reason they are second to the Cromwell Family was due to the existence of Zarion Academy. Many experts in the city council were once students of Zarion Academy, even before Vincent took power. Obviously, they had attachment to Zarion Academy and only served to expand its influence. Once can infer that Zarion Academy is a major power by itself, with the amount of experts it has produced. After shouting, the youth then stared at the man in front of him and had a look of annoyance, his attendant beside him spoke loudly, ¡°This young master is Simon Rosswein, he came here to register his application. Let this young master through, you peasant.¡±, his face showcased his proud behavior. It was evident that he was confident that as long as he threw the Rosswein Family name, everyone would step down. Zhang Wei looked this young master and his group with no emotion, he then ignored them and started to submit his own application. Clearly he did not put this young master in his eyes. The attendant, seeing Zhang Wei ignore the name Rosswein, got furious and pointed at him. ¡°Insolent peasant, did you not hear what I said, move away for the young master!¡±, he bellowed. Zhang Wei turned a blind eye to the screaming attendant. He already made his mind to completely ignore the stupid cliched antagonist. From his experience at reading novels, cliched antagonist are the most annoying types. They are not shrewd and calculative, only brainless and arrogant, he did not think they were worth his time. The attendant turned red from anger when he saw Zhang Wei ignoring him again. He had never encountered a peasant like this. People typically fawn over his young master whenever they learn of his status, but this fool simply ignored him. This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience. He would like nothing better than to go over and kill this fool, but he did not dare to go against Zarion Academy rules. The young master on the other hand, said nothing and merely went to Zhang Wei, and said coldly, ¡°Move now, or you will die where you stand.¡± Zhang Wei got annoyed at this and lazily sounded, ¡°Kill me if you want, we¡¯ll see if you can enter the academy then.¡± Zhang Wei said this with full confidence that this brainless cliched tw*t would back down. After all who would dare violate the most influental academy''s rules. The punishment for murder without justification in Zarion Academy is expulsion for students, and barred from the assessment for life for the participants. No one is exempt from this rule, no matter what family they came from. The young master twitched and said nothing, one could even make out a faint glare from him. He went back to his attendant¡¯s side and waited for Zhang Wei to finish. After Zhang Wei was done and was about to leave, he heard the young master say, ¡°Do not think the academy can protect your pitiful life for long.¡± to which he proceeded to stare Zhang Wei down as Zhang Wei was leaving. Zhang Wei simply ignored this tw*t and left. Zhang Wei could not even give half a single sh*t about this idiots threats. No amount of calculation could count the number of f*cks I do not give. When I get my OP stats back, you''ll be the first one I pummel. Not long after that his name was called, he and around twenty other people were led into a large hall. Inside the hall, the instructor was waiting for them and explained the content of the assessment. The first test was strength, the participants only needed to punch a large old bell. The test was simple and Zhang Wei managed to pass it easily. The next test was a test of agility, the participants needed to run from specific points to the next in the given amount of time. Zhang Wei also easily cleared this, his results were quite average and he did not attract any attention. So far, he had already passed two of the required three tests, he only needed one more pass to enroll as a student. Zhang Wei and the rest of the participants were led to the center of the hall, the instructor then took out a small orb the size of a fist. He placed the orb on a podium and said, ¡°This will be a test of aptitude, when I call your name, come up and insert a bit of spirit energy into the orb.¡± He then called the participants one by one. Most had average aptitude, and did not pass, but there were a few good aptitudes. These people mostly came from noble families and had their aptitude enhanced by pills. Zhang Wei was not really interested in the people with good aptitude, as they could only go so far. With the existence of the Overpowered System, Zhang Wei did not have to bother with aptitude, his strength could surpass even those with superior aptitude. Look at these fools that are happy with their sh*t aptitudes. This great and amazing humble man can demolish you with a single finger with my original strength. Besides, this humble man probably has the best aptitude in existence, you all can just stare in awe when this humble man is tested later. Since he had such amazing stats, he thought that his aptitude must be extraordinary. The instructor called Zhang Wei¡¯s name and he went to the podium, the smugness of his face could not be hidden, and some participants looked at him with contempt. He sent a sliver of spirit energy and waited for the result. Watch this you bunch of trashes, see this Humble Man''s majesty. However, to Zhang Wei''s dismay, the orb had no reaction and the instructor, announced, ¡°Low grade aptitude, fail¡±. The participants couldn''t believe what they heard and the whole hall exploded with laughter. Zhang Wei could not believe his ears when he heard that, but suddenly remembered what the Author said previously, [¡°Zhang Wei, 16 years old is an exceedingly trash individual, with trash aptitude¡¡±]. He immediately cursed in his heart. Damn it sh*tty Author, why did you make my aptitude sh*t?! Now where can I put my face at, the whole freaking hall thinks that I¡¯m lower than trash. Screw your sister and nine generations! Chapter 16: Whos The Trash Now Idiots! Currently, the entire hall was filled with laughter. The other participants not believe what they had heard. Low grade aptitude? That was just a nice way of putting it. The actual name was trash aptitude. The reason why it is called trash aptitude is that the people who have it could at most reach Level 1 Martial Practitioner. This meant that people who the trash aptitude, would be the lowest trash of them all. They were viewed with even more contempt compared to the normal commoners by the nobles. It had to be known that in the entire history of Zarion Academy, there has not been a single case of a student participating in the assessment that had trash aptitude. Zhang Wei was feeling down, he had never expected that the gaze of mockery from those people would hurt so much like daggers. Under normal circumstances, he would not care what other people thought. But in this case, he had proudly expected that he was a dragon amongst men with superior aptitude. That made it much more painful. Right now he wanted nothing more than to just cover his head and roll around in shame. He went back to the crowd as the instructor called another participant. As he was walking back, gazes of mockery could be seen while endless chatter could be heard. It was so loud that the instructor could not take it anymore, ¡°Quiet down, so what if he has low grade aptitude, so what if he can only be Level 1? As long he¡¯s not as shameful as the Level 4 expert that stole kid¡¯s lollipops, he can be a proud trash.¡±, as he said it, he had a proud look on his face as if he had just done Zhang Wei a favor. As soon as the participants heard that they went wild with laughter. Some even fell to their back and held their bellies as they laughed. They never expected the stern looking instructor to have such a good sense of humor. Zhang Wei on the other hand, almost coughed a mouthful of blood. Freaking a**hole! Are you trying to help me or kill me with anger? What¡¯s worse is that proud look on your face.. Do you think you saved my life you bastard, screw your eighteen generations, how about that! What got Zhang Wei so pissed of was that the expert that stole lollipops from little kids was him, he was just wearing a mask now! If only his strength wasn¡¯t restricted, he would go up and slap the instructor to death. Since he can''t do anything now, he can only plan what he will do the instructor, the minute he gets his strength back. Just when Zhang Wei thought this could not get worse, Author¡¯s voice rang, ¡°Pfft .. As the instructor is a virtuous man ¡ pfft ¡ The great heavens have ¡ pfft .. decided to award this instructor with 10 years of good luck and prevent Zhang Wei from doing him any harm.¡±, the Author was struggling to prevent himself from laughing out loud. Damn you sh*tty Author ¡ Why the heck do you sound as if you¡¯re dying from laughter! And you award him for making a fool out of me, Is this bullying? This is bullying right! Zhang Wei actually coughed up blood. He swore that he would get back at all of them one day. The hall gradually quieted down and the test proceeded smoothly. There was no one who had a great aptitude, and the best aptitude was only a measly good aptitude. Seeing that there wasn''t a single great or superior aptitude, the instructor could only sighed. It had been a while since he found someone with great aptitude. If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Aptitudes determines how far a person can go in their lifetime. They are divided into, low grade aptitude, average aptitude, great aptitude, superior aptitude and pinnacle aptitude. As mentioned before, a person with low grade aptitude can only be able to achieve Level 1 Martial Practitioner in their lifetime. That was the reason why people view it with such contempt. Level 1 Martial Practitioner was considered the starting point, with children from various families reaching that stage at 8 years old by the earliest. However, surpassing the barrier between Levels required a significant amount of time. Why was Zhang Wei able to reach Level 2? It was because the Overpowered System could not be bounded by natural laws of cultivation. Zhang Wei only needs to gain exp to surpass the level barrier. For the average aptitude, these students can at most reach Level 2 Martial Practitioners. While it may not seem much, Level 2 was enough to be qualified to be an average city guard. However, it is not enough to pass the threshold of being a teacher in Zarion Academy, which is why it was judged as a fail. Not wasting any more time the instructor then took out another orb and announced the final test. The test was basically the same as the aptitude test, where the participants only had to send a sliver of spirit energy into the orb. Those who have already passed three tests would be exempted from taking the test if they so wish, and those who did not pass two tests previously, are already disqualified and had to leave. Disappointed expression appeared on many of the participants faces. These people were the ones who failed to pass two tests out of the previous three. Right now there were only 5 participants left in the hall including Zhang Wei. Zhang Wei was actually quite amazed, and thought this is truly a prestigious school, the passing rate is very low. I didn''t realize that it was that hard to pass the test. Of the 5 that were left, only 2 had already passed the required three tests, but they still wanted to partake in the final test. The first up was a youth wearing the a blue robe. He was likely from a noble family as his attire looked like it was made with exquisite embroidery, though he did not have an insignia. He went up to the podium and sent a bit of spirit energy into the orb. The energy in the orb started to twirl and reveal a pattern. The instructor smiled and called out, ¡°16 spirit energy. Excellent, you pass with flying colors.¡±, the instructor was pleasantly surprised. The average spirit energy for youths under 18 years was 10 and this youth had 6 more. He was happy that the school had acquired a talented Martial Practitioner. Even the rest of the participants were surprised and filled with envy. The youth was delighted to find out he had such a high spirit energy and was feeling smug. It was as if he was thinking, you pathetic trash can''t compare to me. Only Zhang Wei was shocked for a different reason. 16 spirit energy was called talented? If he was the instructor, he would have called it trash immediately. Oi are you sure thats talented? isn''t he just trash? The instructor patted the youth on the shoulder and called the other participants one by one. ¡°10 spirit energy¡±. ¡°11 spirit energy¡±. ¡°10 spirit energy¡±. The rest were average, but this made Zhang Wei shocked even more. He smiled and couldn¡¯t wait for his turn. Time for payback! The instructor called his name and he went up to the podium. The other 4 participants looked at him with disdain as he walked up. Since he had a trash aptitude, his spirit energy should trash as well. While this is not confirmed, from history, most people who had low grade aptitude, have below average spirit energy. Zhang Wei ignored their gaze and inserted a sliver of spirit energy into the orb. The orb reacted and the energy inside the orb started to twirl, but it was not like before. This time it was as if the orb could not hold back the energy inside and looked like it was going to burst. The instructor saw the result and was wide eyed. He repeatedly looked at the orb and Zhang Wei back to back. Almost as if he could not believe what he saw. He then announced the result,¡± 6-6-60 p-points. p-p- PASS!¡±, he stuttered as he said those words. When the rest of the participants heard that their jaws almost fell to the ground. 60 POINTS! They had never even heard of such a high and absurd number. Brother are you a monster? Didn¡¯t you have trash aptitude, why do you have such high spirit energy? If I call you trash now than what am I? Dirt in your shoes? Even the youth with 16 points was dumbfounded. He thought that he was a heaven sent genius, but who would have known that the one whom he looked down upon the most had more than thrice of what he had. Instantly he felt ashamed that he was feeling so smug. Zhang Wei enjoyed every single expression on these people¡¯s faces. See you piece of sh*ts how amazing this humble man is! Who¡¯s the freaking trash now. Bow before me you peasants. Chapter 17: Divisions In an office located in the central compound of Zarion Academy. A man is looking through several documents. Who was this man? It was the Headmaster of Zarion Academy itself, Vincent Cromwell. It was a typical day for him, he had done a few experiments and was now inspecting the documents that needed authorization. As he took a sip of his tea, an old man burst into the door with a panicked stricken face. ¡°Headmaster, Headmaster! There¡¯s been an incident.¡±, the man said hurriedly. The headmaster choked a bit on his tea and was visibly annoyed. The headmaster, Vincent put down his cup and started to reprimand this man, ¡°For the last time, Angelo, don¡¯t just burst in like that. How bad is this incident that you can¡¯t handle it yourself?¡±. Vincent was a bit irritated. He was just about to relax a bit until Angelo suddenly came. The man was stuttering, ¡°There, um ¡ We had an assessment participant that set a new high score for spirit energy¡±. He did not know how to word it properly as a situation like this had never happened. What was he going to say? A 16 year old youth was has higher spirit energy than most level 5 Martial Practitioners? Vincent looked a lot more interested, whenever a new genius came, he would be the one who was most excited. As he took a sip of tea, he asked Angelo, ¡°So how many points did this genius get? is it 19, or could it possible be 20?¡± ¡°The participant got .. um ¡ 60 points¡±, the old man said slowly. "Umu ... Phewtt" Vincent was too busy thinking about a great new addition to the academy, that he actually failed to notice what Angelo had said at first. When he got a second and thought about it, he actually digested the situation and was shocked to the point he spit the entire tea he was drinking straight to Angelo''s face. Angelo, did not even flinch and started to wipe away the tea from his face with a handkerchief. He then replied, ¡°Very sure Sir. The assessment crystal showed that he was exactly 16 years old.¡±. Hearing this Vincent fell back into his chair. He still could not process the information he was just given. What was the concept of 60 points of spirit energy? Spirit energy is the core essence that is used in almost everything. For Martial Arts, spirit energy is needed for the usage of skills, and the higher the Level of skill, the higher the cost of spirit energy. A normal Level 1 skill cost around 5 spirit energy and a Level 2 skill cost double of that amount. However, when you get to Level 3 skills, they at minimum require 25 points. After that they start to exponentially increase. Even the most powerful Level 4 expert had at most 58 points of spirit energy. To have 60 points of spirit energy at 16 years of age, proved that he had a very bright future. If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Vincent, being the calculative man that he is, weighed in all the options here, and turned to Angelo, ¡°Is it possible for us to acquire him?¡±, his expression was very serious. Angelo seeing the look in the look in Vincent¡¯s face, also replied with seriousness, ¡°Highly unlikely. The rest of the division heads have probably gotten the news. It''s will be impossible for those sh*ts to sit by and do nothing to get in our way." Vincent¡¯s expression turned grim. At this point they were at an impasse. If someone tried to recruit this new genius openly, they would be obstructed immediately. Should I risk it? I still have my authority as a headmaster. However, I can''t guarantee that they won''t start a riot if I did this. After thinking about it, he ordered Angelo to block any student from trying to sway this new genius towards any division and restrict the information so that it will not leak to the general public. What he had to do now is to make sure that this genius does not fall into the opposition¡¯s hand. After giving out the order, his face calmed down a bit before asking Angelo, ¡°Oh right, I forgot to ask. What¡¯s his name?¡±. Angelo replied, ¡°His name is .. ¡°. ¨C ¡°Mr Roland¡± A clerk called Zhang Wei to the reception desk to hand out his school insignia and uniform attire. As for why Zhang Wei chose the name Roland as his cover name, it was because it was the name of the protagonist from the novel that he liked back on earth. It was absolutely not because the real Author actually forgot to include a fake name two chapters ago and made a totally random name with a random excuse 5 minutes before writing this line. After receiving all the basic necessities, Zhang Wei went and immediately changed to his new school attire. As he walked out of the Admission Department¡¯s main building a tall man was waiting outside for him. The man introduced himself as a school guide, and said that he will show Zhang Wei around the academy. Along the way he told Zhang Wei of structure of the academy. The academy consisted of 5 compounds, that are controlled by the 4 divisions and the school board. The northern compound is controlled by the Medical Division, East compound is controlled by the Forgery division, The Duel Division controls the west compound, Refining division controls the southern compound. Each of the divisions are autonomous and can accept their own disciples based on their standards, however they still must send reports of their activities to the school board located in the central compound. Students that had just entered the academy will be put under the central compound and are considered as outer disciples. When one has passed the test for a division, he or she will be accepted as an inner disciple of that division. The divisions all have their own rules and regulations, but the amount of resource they provide could not be compared. This is the main reason why students work so hard to pass the test laid out by the divisions. After explaining a few more things to Zhang Wei, the tall man went back to to his own office. Zhang Wei thought hard about where he should go. He had the overpowered system and did not need any resource to strengthen himself. He remembered that the quest the Author gave was investigating the strange atmosphere between the headmaster and Division Head Nar. Initially he did not know which division Nar was from, but the tall man had given him a brief introduction and he found out that she is the head of the Medical Division. In order to complete the quest, he decided to try out for the Medical Division. It¡¯s definitely not because the division head is a very pretty and attractive woman. Yeah definitely not¡ Chapter 18: Fell for the bait Medical Division is the most prominent division in the northern compound. Does that mean it¡¯s the only division there? Not exactly. It''s true that Medical Division is the major division in the northern compound, but there are many sub-divisions that are under the Medical Division as do the other 4 major divisions. In the southern compound, the Refining Division acts as the hegemon, while lesser divisions such as the Pill Refining Division and the Liquid Refining Division are directly under it. Major Divisions contribute directly to the core of the academy and are the faces of the academy. They also ensure that the existence of the smaller divisions are not threatened, and the smaller divisions must prove their usefulness to the major divisions to receive such protection. At this moment Zhang Wei arrived at the northern compound. The entire compound was magnificent, as it was like a city of its own, with many buildings and even stores for selling items. Zhang Wei did not waste time and immediately went to the registration building. The process was similar to the Assessment Department. Zhang Wei finished his registration, and almost as if it was deja vu, he heard that very same shout again. ¡°Move away for the young master of the Rosswein Family¡±. Zhang Wei almost coughed blood. He could not believe what he was hearing. What the actual hell! Is this a**hole haunting me? This humble man swears that when this humble man gets back his abilities, he would pay a ¡®visit¡¯ to this Rosswein Family. Zhang Wei was getting pettier and pettier. How many more people will be added to his ''visits'' list? Zhang Wei had not even turned around before the young master¡¯s attendant barked, ¡°Peasant do you not hear what I just said? Move for this ¡ wait a second. You¡¯re that retard from before!¡± he was about to move Zhang Wei out of the way before he noticed Zhang Wei¡¯s face. ¡°So you actually made it into the academy huh? Did you bribe a teacher here to let you pass? Because surely with your abilities, you would not pass the assessment even if you had a million years¡±. Zhang Wei was getting really pissed off at this point. But despite that, chose to ignore him and complete the registration. The attendant as expected was furious that Zhang Wei dared ignore him for the third time. He could not stand Zhang Wei¡¯s behavior anymore and wanted to attack him, but before he could even try a hand held him back. You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story. It was his young master. He pulled back the attendant and told him to be quiet, ¡°Restrain yourself! He doesn¡¯t even know what place he¡¯s in. You will get you¡¯re revenge sooner or later.¡±, his tone sounded as if he did not view Zhang Wei as anyone important. Well considering the most nobles'' attitude towards commoners, it was not unexpected. After completing the registration, Zhang Wei wanted to leave and relax a little before the test started, but he was called back by the receptionist lady, ¡°Mr Roland, please proceed to the room in the back." Zhang Wei was a bit confused, but thought this was normal procedure and followed the receptionist no question asked. Entering the room, he saw two extremely beautiful ladies, one was a woman who he had never met before, and one was a person he was very familiar with, Division Head Nar! What¡¯s going on? Is she so attracted to me that she could not wait to see my majestic self? Oh wait, I¡¯m posing as Roland now. Hmmm, I guess my aura is just too majestic that she could not help but resist. Oh God, why have you made me so perfect. ¡°Mr Roland please have a seat¡±, Division Head Nar¡¯s voice snapped Zhang Wei back to reality. She continued when Zhang Wei sat down, ¡°My name is Nar, I am the Division Head of the Medical Division, and this is Sheera, my Vice Head. I have heard about Mr Roland¡¯s score in the spirit energy assessment, and was pleasurably surprised, it seems my academy has gained another once in a generation genius¡±. Her voice sounded so sweet, but it stroke Zhang Wei with restlessness. This woman cannot be trusted. Despite Zhang Wei¡¯s lack of decency, when faced with an actual threat, he turns extremely vigilant. Never allowing himself to get taken advantage of. ¡°I was hoping to see if Mr Roland would like to join the Medical Division as my personal disciple. I¡¯m sure with my assistance, Mr Roland would be able to become a top tier expert within 4 years." As she said that, she threw him a seductive smile, her body language suggested that she wished to charm Zhang Wei into accepting. While any other regular joe would agree in a heartbeat, Zhang Wei was skeptical. He was going to enter the Medical Division anyway. Why would she go through the trouble to recruit him if he is already going to be in her side, and why would she do something that could arouse his suspicion? He did not want to act rashly, so he thought of a plan. ¡°Division Head Nar, this noble is interested, but I currently have no plans on accepting a master. However, If you agree to be my beloved instead, I would gladly agree this instant.¡±, Zhang Wei said that with a disgusting tone. While you might think that this is a stupid idea... it is. Zhang Wei is um... a special kind of child... Vice Head Sheera heard what Zhang Wei said and twitched, she was about to pounce on this man, when Division Head Nar held her back. Division Head Nar¡¯s face was serene as if she had not heard anything repulsive. She calmly replied, ¡°If that is Mr Roland¡¯s wish, then this Division Head would gladly oblige¡±. She already knew what his response would be, so she said this with confidence. In his mind, Zhang Wei immediately cheered. Score! She actually fell for the bait! Zhang Wei smiled and said, ¡°Great then from now on, we will be each other¡¯s beloved. My love I hope that we will have a fulfilling love life.¡± Not expecting that response, Division Head Nar¡¯s face fell ¡°¡. Eh?¡± Chapter 19: Another Eh? Division Head Nar was shocked by Zhang Wei reply, but she immediately regained her composure. A calculative person like her, has full control over her emotions and facial expression. There were very few things that could make her facial expressions crumble, revealing her true thoughts. Nevertheless, she did not expect that response from Zhang Wei. Never in her life would she expect that Zhang Wei was this shrewd. One thing that she did realize is that, she was now in a disadvantageous position. She was now caught in Zhang Wei¡¯s pace. As long as Zhang Wei continued to lead her on, she had no power of persuasion whatsoever. She needed to make sure she doesn¡¯t stay in this pitfall. The reason why she''s in a disadvatageous position, is because the second she try to make a serious offer, Zhang Wei could brush it off as a joke and decline without being disrespetful. *Facepalm*. You actually believe that you idiot? That''s the worst reason I heard all day. ¡°You surely jest Mr Roland. This is our first encounter, and we have barely known each other. My previous statement was a joke, intended to soothe the atmosphere.¡± As long as Roland clarify that he understood the harmless joke, then she could retake the lead. ¡°A joke?¡±, Roland put on a look of clear disappointment that you would typically find on those heroes in romantic comedies. ¡°I finally thought that I had found a soulmate to share my life with ¡ truly a pity. I guess this life is to be wasted after all . Despite my marvelous self, I can¡¯t even find a lady to hold me down. Oh how hard it is to be so amazing. Dear God, why have you gifted me too much greatness.¡± Roland said with a tone of regret. That tone could almost make people think that he was being sarcastic with himself. The look on Roland¡¯s face as if he was wronged by fate itself almost made Division Head Nar grind her teeth. She could not believe that there existed a person. ¡. Shameless. I can hardly believe such shameless individual could actually exist in this world. Division Head Nar found herself unable to cope with Zhang Wei¡¯s behavior. She could not make up whether Zhang Wei was completely sincere, or he is just a shrewd person. This is turning into a problem. This boy is completely leaving me with no chance of escape. Damn it! If only I didn¡¯t need all the talent I could get, I would have made you silently disappear. This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. She steeled her heart and put on a sincere fake smile, as she said sympathetically, ¡°Mr Roland was given such astounding gifts, to become an incredible person in this world. With my capabilities, your gifts would not be wasted and in given time ¡. you would find yourself a suitable soul mate.¡± Zhang Wei was quite surprised to hear her response, and inwardly smiled to himself ¡. Interesting. To be able to escape from the pitfall, and give out an amazing offer, while at the same time not downplaying her abilities is really commendable. How is that commendable? She basically just told you to F*ck off and hope that you could join... Oh! .. On second thought that was not bad. Any normal person, given her grace and prestige, would immediately accept the generous preposition. However ¡ she was facing Zhang Wei. And Zhang Wei could not accept someone taking advantage of him. Given how cunning this Division Head Nar is, she would realize that Zhang Wei was suspicious of her actions, being why she could not wait until Zhang Wei entered the Medical Division, before recruiting him as a disciple. She must have a reason, and she knows that Zhang Wei would try to fish out that information from her. It seems I need to resort to this method. Zhang Wei looked to Division Head Nar, and said ¡°Something has been bothering me for a while, can Division Head Nar give me a suitable answer?¡± Division Head Nar was smiled. She had expected this. Based on her understanding, Zhang Wei will likely try to ask her what she saw in him, that she could not wait to have him as a disciple. ¡°Why can¡¯t Division Head Nar wait until I formally enter the Medical division, before giving me an offer to be your direct disciple? Why must you rush to immediately give me a generous offer? Is there a specific reason as to why you have to get me on your side as fast as possible?¡± ¡. Damn! To think he would be so direct about it. Never in Division Head Nar¡¯s life would she imagine that Zhang Wei would directly ask the question, was he not afraid she would eliminate him if he was too curious? One might not see any difference with Division Head Nar¡¯s expectations and Zhang Wei¡¯s actual question. The main focal point is she had expected that Zhang Wei would ask what she saw in him. If he had asked that, she could say that she values talent, and was impatient to help develop people with such talents. Zhang Wei made no indication to question what she wanted, but instead directly questioned her ulterior motives. Division Head Nar was in a pickle, as if she proceeded to use her planned answer, then she would look undeniably shady. Even an idiot would realize that Division Head Nar was hiding some ulterior motive. This could cause some implications in the future, as psychological warfare is immediately lost if you open yourself to suspicion. Whose to say that in a few years, Zhang Wei would not use this to take advantage of her? She was trap in a bind and needed a way to get out. As Division Head Nar was in a pinch, Zhang Wei was celebrating in his head. Kekeke! Foolish little girl, you are 100 years too young to manipulate the amazing me. I will enjoy seeing you struggle to find a suitable excuse for yourself. Zhang Wei smirking to himself and had the eyes of a beast. In his view, this seemingly cunning Division Head was merely a small rabbit trying to contain a lion. He would make her cry if she tried. Division Head Nar replied, ¡°To be completely honest, I need you to strengthen my camp to survive the academy power struggle.¡± Zhang Wei¡¯s face fell as he repeated what Division Head Nar said before. ¡°¡ Eh?¡± Chapter 20: XXX Not expecting Division Head Nar to completely spill everything, Zhang Wei was flabbergasted. He was also kind of pissed that she crushed his plans before they even came to fruition. How can you just spill everything you dumba**! You were supposed to panic and be forced to make up a bullsh*t excuse. After that I would corner you again and make you struggle like a small little lamb. Pah! Whatever. Although Zhang Wei was basically chiding her for spilling everything, he still had to commend her firmness. If she had made up a bullsh*t excuse, he could easily make her look like a fool. However, if she spilled everything, she would pose herself to be sincerely asking for Zhang Wei¡¯s help. It would be hard to reject her invitation again without looking like a jerk. And if word got out, Zhang Wei would be placed in a disadvantageous position. But Zhang Wei was the most shameless person in the world! How could he just do something that could benefit his opponent. He had to be in a situation where only he could gain benefit. Other people only exist for him to take advantage of. Rich people have money for the sole reason Zhang Wei would take everything they own while looking like a saint. Zhang Wei immediately thought of a meticulous plan. A plan so formidable that he could not help but chuckle at the savagery of his own mind. Nothing could make him stop now. Muahhahaa! I will make you XXX, while you XXX yourself and be forced to XXX. His inward smile was so devious, one could not mistake him for a pervert that owns a dungeon. ¡°Division Head Nar¡¯s sincerity has touched Zhang Wei¡¯s putrid heart that he could not help but assist her in her efforts to strengthen her camp in the upcoming power struggle. Zhang Wei certainly had no plan whatsoever about XXX, and surely no plan to make her XXX, while looking like XXX. Zhang Wei could not possibly be that trashy.¡± The Author couldn''t possibly have a protagonist that is that devious, so he of course had to butt in. At this point, Zhang Wei did not know if he wanted to curse at the Author, or just cry himself asleep. For the sake of entertainment for the readers, he will curse of course! Damn it! You sh*tty Author! Do you even know how hard it was to come up with that plan! You know right?! I¡¯m sure you do, you a**hole. And whats with making her look like a good person? She is shady as heck! Do you think she is sincere? Are actually blind! If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement. After suffering from the Authors words for a while, Zhang Wei was basically immune to all his snide remarks. But this time, the Authors words regarding his plan made him red in shame. Was he such a trash individual that he actually thought to keep Division Head Nar in a XXX ,and make her dressed up in XXX while doing the XXX? It seems his morality had taken a steep turn when he came to this world. Back in his old world, XXX was looked down upon as being the epitome of trashiness. If you thought about someone in a XXX while doing the XXX then you were basically the lowest rung of human society. Forget it. Zhang Wei could not be bothered anymore with the Author¡¯s direct neglect of his feeling. His job now became harder. If he immediately agree to with Division Head Nar¡¯s request, then she would start to suspect him. He had to push a little bit before looking as if he gave up and just surrendered himself. The biggest concern is, how far should he push Division Head Nar? If he was too rough with his actions, then she might give up and Zhang Wei would have to put down his pride and beg her to let him join. If he did not push far enough, then she would have power over him in the future. Right now I just need to make sure to not seem like I¡¯m too desperate. Zhang Wei looked at her and with a calm face said, ¡°Oh? And for what is this power struggle meant to do? Are you planning to take over the position of Headmaster?¡± ¡°Nothing of the sort. I do not like to indulge myself in hostile takeovers. The reason as to why I¡¯m even doing this is to ensure the Medical Division does not get swallowed when the actual power struggle occur. To be honest, I would like to prevent the takeover from succeeding. While that man is not the most likable, he at least knows boundaries and allows the divisions to operate autonomously.¡± Division Head Nar already spilled everything to Zhang Wei by telling him there was a power struggle going on. Zhang Wei most probably would guess the whole story from that sentence alone, so there was no logic in keeping Zhang Wei in the dark. Why not score some extra points by being sincere? ¡°Is the person instigating this takeover looking to take control of all of Zarion Academy¡¯s assets?¡±, Zhang Wei asked. While he could already guess the motives and modus operandi, it would be better to confirm everything. ¡°That I cannot confirm, but she will most probably take everything she could. My Medical Division is the weakest among all the 4 major divisions and will most likely be targeted if I stand by and do nothing.¡± Division Head Nar made sure her intentions were clear to Zhang Wei. While she did not necessarily like the Headmaster, she had no intentions of rebelling. The reason she said this was as a fail safe plan, in case Zhang Wei might feel hesitant to commit an act of treason. She had to paint out that she was in the right side. Zhang Wei smiled and thought, This is my cue. He looked up with a serious expression, ¡°I¡¯m glad that you are in the Headmaster¡¯s side Division Head Nar. I was actually indebted to the Headmaster, and it would not be in my conscience to scheme against him.¡± Zhang Wei took a second before continuing, ¡°Since Division Head Nar is sincere towards me, I have no reason to reject your proposal. However, I would have to refrain myself from being your disciple.¡± Chapter 21: Academy Points Division Head Nar''s calm face twitched a little when Zhang Wei rejected to be her disciple. In her mind, although Zhang Wei was a bit smart, his capabilities was still limited. No matter how radiant and immense his talents were, it would be useless if he does not developed it properly. This boy must be very prideful. It was not an uncommon scene to witness, and Division Head Nar had seen it multiple times. Many geniuses who had great talent, due to their egoistic pride, simply was unwilling to bow to a master. They then proceeded to squander their talent and waste away their lives. They thought that their current achievement was impressive and they had no need to seek tutelage. Little did they know that very same decision would bring their own ruin. Masters and disciples, to keep it simple, are like pipes and water. The disciple is like flowing water, with their talent being the water intensity. A wise master can act as a strong pipe that carries the water to its destined location. If a master is not capable, they would not be able to handle the intensity of the disciple''s talent and break down, leading to the ruin of the disciple. The greater the talent of disciple, the wiser the master must be to handle it. On the other hand, if the disciple''s talent is weak, then no matter how wise the master is, their achievement will still be limited. Division Head Nar inwardly sighed. She had thought that Zhang Wei was different compared to those egotistical fools. However, turns out that Zhang Wei was not any different. "You have to consider this wisely Mr Roland. While I do admit your talent is greater than any I have ever seen, only with a suitable master that you can fully utilize that massive talent." she tried to make Zhang Wei think it through. "While I may not be the strongest in the city, I am fully capable of standing toe to toe with the greatest expert. Am I by any chance not up to your standards?" "You have it all wrong Division Head. My simple desire, is to be on the same playing field as the rest of the students. Experience the struggle they face to procure enough resources and learn the virtues of patience and determination. If I decide to be your disciple, my road would be smooth, but my character will lag behind.", Zhang Wei spoke eloquently. Zhang Wei''s shamelessness currently could be said to be of no equal. Not even the famous hollywood actors could step in Zhang Wei''s shoes and spout nonsensical crap continously without the slightest bit of shame. The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. Support the author by reading it there. Division Head Nar acted like she had not heard what Zhang Wei had said. "Very well then Mr Roland. My offer however, still stands. If you experience any bottlenecks, don''t be shy to come. My door is always open." One could not help but notice, the seductiveness of her voice. A normal man, by now would be head over heels in love with her and would spare no effort to please her. However, who was Zhang Wei? He is the most shameless individual to ever exist. No one could even compare. The only reason he was even attracted when he first met her, was due to the shock of finding out Curt''s ''desire'' for him. At that point, Zhang Wei was desperate to prove to himself that he was actually attracted to women. Division Head Nar stood up and bid farewell to Zhang Wei. Vice Head Sheera glared at Zhang Wei before following Division Head Nar.
