《Otherworld?》 Chapter 1: Otherworld? I found myself running for my life in a forest in the middle of nowhere... from an animal or should I say a beast that is about 2 feet tall that bare similarities to a rabbit, with long ears and fast legs, except it has a horn protruding on its head, with sharp long claws and teeth, and glowing red eyes staring at me intensely while chasing me non-stop around the forest. Not knowing where to go or how to escape this wild beast, I just kept running hoping that someone would save me or at least think of something to prevent getting attack or get eaten by this crazy rabbit... Now, you''re probably wondering how or why I ended up in this situation right about now so let''s go back to an hour ago before this all happens. Here I am, a really excited 15 yr old girl on her first summer vacation after entering High School, about to go on a week-long camping trip with my group of friends. It was 5am & I just finished preparing everything for our camping trip including sleeping bag, extra blanket, waterproof tarp, rope, foldable chair, small 1 person tent, clothes enough for a few days, a pair of swimsuits, towel, wash cloth, Kleenex, toilet paper, first aid kit, soap, shampoo, hiking boots, extendable fishing pole, tackle box, camping pot & frying pan, tongs and steel BBQ sticks for grilling, lighter, matches, flashlight, multipurpose Swiss knife, kitchen knife, steel cup, plate, fork & spoon, soy sauce, salt, sugar, packets of tea and instant coffee, a small bag of rice, cellphone and a small solar charger, all packed in my backpack with the pot and pan hanging on a carabiner on the each side. It''s pretty heavy, I know but they''re all necessary items for camping. I also have already prepared some sandwiches packed in a separate cooler bag with a few bottle of water, Gatorade & pop as well as some snacks including granola bars, chocolates and candies. I didn''t bring any raw food since it was agreed that one of my friends whose family owns a meat/butcher shop is going to bring fresh meat in an ice packed cooler. Another friend is going to bring firewood as well as coal for cooking. I''m more than ready for a fun camping trip or so I thought... oh how wrong I was, now looking at down from a tree I happened to climb without even noticing while trying to shake off the rabbit. We were planning on meeting up in downtown in front of the train station that we''re gonna take to the camping ground. It takes about 2 hours on the train and then transfer to a specific bus for another 30 minutes to get to the camping area. To get there, first, I have to walk a couple blocks from the school dormitory to the bus stop and take a bus to the train station. I waited at the bus stop for a bit and since it''s still pretty early, the sun still hasn''t come out yet. It''s pretty foggy but the weather forecast says it''s going to be a sunny day. I was the only one there and a second later, I saw the bus coming. I said to myself... "This bus is pretty early. It''s not supposed to come for another 10 mins... weird?" Tilting my head a little and raised an eyebrow.This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version. Ignoring the arrival time, I looked at the bus and it''s the right one. It indicates on the top that it''s heading to the train station in downtown. I thought that, since it''s here, might as well just go now. So I did end up boarding that bus. I was the only passenger there, so I thought I was pretty lucky since I can just sit wherever. Works for me since I''m carrying all the heavy camping gears, and I can just put it beside me on the vacant seat. Looking out the window, the bus started to move. No one came on the bus during the time and next thing I know, we''re already close to the station. I''m getting off on the next stop so I pulled the bell and the bus finally came to a stop and opened its door. I said my thanks to the bus driver while getting off the bus and on my last step down, I blink and all of a sudden, the view changed to that of a forest....... "What the f***?!?!" I yelled... "What the hell...?! And where the hell am I?!?" I said while still confused... I looked around, tried blinking again and again and all I see are still the same view. Trees everywhere, the warm sunlight penetrates the gaps in between the leaves of the trees. I can only hear birds and animal sounds from a distance. It doesn''t matter where I look, all I see are tall thick trees, leaves scattered everywhere, thick roots coming out of the dark brown soil, bushes, plants, flowers & vines are the only other things I can see. I pinched my cheeks until it hurts so much that I don''t think this is a dream... How the hell did I ended up here, when I''m pretty sure the last view I saw in front of me when I was getting off the bus was the sidewalk with an underground passage to the train station just a moment ago. I''m really confused right now... I can''t think straight... Looking from left to right and behind me was a big tree... it was supposed to be a bus you know... dammit... "I''m lost..." while saying this I realize the most important thing that I forgot... "I forgot to bring a compass!!! Dammit~" I yelled again... Nothing can be done now since it''s too late, I thought to myself. "I wonder if I can use the sun as a compass... Sun rises to the east so... let''s go North..." still unsure of what to do I continued "I don''t know if it''ll work since I''m not really sure how this works... oh well, got to find someone or at least find a road or a river to follow. Let go north for now." Looking up, it''s hard to see the sun since the trees are in the way but I somehow can tell from the sunlight and shadow of the leaves where the sun is, so base on that... "I should head this way~" pointing to a direction still unsure if it''s the right path, I started walking there. All of a sudden I heard a rustling sound from the bushes and out came a rabbit... a biiiiiig rabbit... and what the hell, it has a horn... I thought, "Did someone glued that horn on it, poor thing..." I pity the rabbit for a second Looking at it closely, it has long claws, maybe around 2 inches and it was making a hissing/growling sound at me while staring with its mouth open I can see some really sharp nasty looking teeth. I wonder... "Does any breed of rabbits actually resemble this thing here?? I have a really bad feeling about this..." my heart started to pound harder as I was staring at it... It looks like it''s going to pounce on me anytime soon. My instinct says run... and looking at the situation, I think I should really follow my instinct here... I started running as fast as I can on the opposite direction where that rabbit was. It started chasing after me at a fast speed... aaaaaand back to the present here, where I only realized I managed to climb a tree without noticing. I guess when you''re scared shitless, you can do some amazing things. I managed to climb a tall tree with my big backpack and cooler bag in one hand. ''How?'' I would ask myself that but I have more pressing matters to attend to. That big ass rabbit is trying to jump up on the tree I was at... scary... Chapter 2: Kill That Rabbit! 3s, 1s, 9s... Frying pan? Are you serious?! Here I was in deep thought about what just happened to me and how I ended up here, I heard the rabbit started clawing the trunk of the tree and for some reason it started jumping up while trying to dig it''s claw onto the trunk but to no avail, it kept on falling back down but it''s very persistent and kept doing it. ¡°Geez, this thing just won''t give up but I think I''m safe here for the time being.¡± I tried to keep my balance while holding onto the trunk. I''m standing on a thick branch of the tree over 3 meters high. Looking down from it, it doesn''t seem to be too high and that *thing* can climb up any moment so I hurriedly try to think of a plan but wait... I think I might be missing something here. I don''t think there''s any species like this at all even if this oversized rabbit is rare and might have some rabies, I would''ve remembered it somehow from somewhere since I like watching documentaries, animal planet and such. I don''t think it''s even on the internet. I grab my phone from the backpack pocket and started to Google it. There''s no signal and no data as well. It wouldn''t connect for some reason. I started dialing my friend''s numbers and even the emergency numbers to ask for help but nothing would connect. Come to think of it, why didn''t I think of using my phone before... ¡°Hahahah~ that was really so stupid of me~¡± I thought to myself while laughing. But either way, I can''t use it since there''s no signal or data. I can''t contact anyone at all. The GPS and maps won''t work, and there''s no way to download a compass app or use the emergency feature of my smartphone. ¡°I''m screwed...¡± I let out a deep sigh as I look down on the rabbit still adamant about climbing up the tree. That rabbit looks like one of those monsters from an RPG game I played a while ago. ''This couldn''t be... right?'' ¡°Status open... hahahah~ yeah right?!¡± I jokingly said while laughing... *PING* I heard a sound and all of a sudden a transparent screen popped up in front of me.

My eyes became wide open and I couldn''t believe what I''m seeing in front of me. I pinched myself again to try and see if I was dreaming. I must''ve fallen asleep on the bus on my way to the station. I''m probably drooling and still in the dreamland right now. I woke up pretty early today to get everything ready so it''s not a surprise that I doze off while on the bus... ¡°Really weird but it seems so real...¡± I muttered to myself. I looked at the screen again to check the details. ¡°What''s with all the 3''s and 1''s here? This game is so bugged with these base stats. Whoever made this game probably just don''t give a crap of people playing it. If it''s my dream, my brain probably made these... that means I suck at making games... bwahahaha~¡± I laugh out loud again thinking this might be fun. I went through the list one by one and couldn''t help but laugh at the stupid things my status indicated. ¡°What''s up with the weapons? Frying pan?! Seriously!? Bwahahahahah~¡± I started laughing so hard again my stomach started to hurt... ''This is priceless'' I thought to myself~ ¡°Whoever made this game is a genius~ /s¡± ¡°How the hell am I supposed to beat that rabbit with a frying pan? Although my kitchen knife would probably do some damage but I don''t wanna get too close to that thing. I don''t wanna get scratch or bit and then get rabies. No thanks~¡± I said in a low voice... ¡°Is there any other weapons besides the ones I brought with me? Then again I''m already lucky enough to have those. I can probably scare it with something.¡± I thought of using Magic since apparently I have them but I don''t know how to use them yet. I think it would be safer to pass on that for now. ¡°Whoa!? When did I get all these items? And again... what''s with all the 999''s and 9''s and 1''s... the hell~ I''m not complaining though~ Thanks to whoever gave me all of these items! There are even potions! And most importantly... food!¡± I got hungry just browsing all the items on my list. Apparently there are more items listed when I clicked [More]. This is awesome but isn''t this cheating? Too OP and I can basically live off of these things without doing anything at all. ¡°What''s the point of this game if it''s this easy?!?¡± But first thing first, I need a weapon to kill that rabbit... and I think I just saw the perfect weapon! ¡°Magical Gun... I don''t have to get close to it to do some damage, now let''s try it~¡± I tried clicking it to see if I can get it out and suddenly something started glowing in front of me and then it materialize... a hand gun that kinda looks like a Glock 17. I grab it and checked it out. It''s not that heavy so I think I can use it. It''s a ''magic'' gun though, so how do I use it? It doesn''t have a magazine for bullets, so do I just point and shoot? Well, I won''t lose anything if I try, right? So I brace myself by having my back against the tree just in case there''s recoil. I pointed it at the rabbit and aim for the head. It''s still trying to climb the tree. I timed it properly when it got its claw stuck in the tree, I pulled the trigger. *BANG* I manage to hit it in the head. It winced and shrieks before it started glowing and it disappeared. It looks like it dropped a few items. I might as well go grab it. While thinking so, I heard another different high pitch cling sound and saw this on the top right corner of my view. [Leveled Up!] +10 Stat Points "Cool! But before that, gotta pick up the items. I don''t want them to disappear." I slowly climb down the tree and saw the drops where the rabbit disappeared. ¡°Hmmm... It looks like a pelt, same colour as the rabbit''s, a few coins, a red gem about the size of a quarter and sharp fangs... Eeew~ But I''ll pick it anyways.¡± I finally got rid of that annoying rabbit. So now what...? I''m still not sure if I''m dreaming or if this is real but I don''t think it''s a good idea to stay here in the forest, so let''s go with the original plan and head north. Chapter 3: Magic! So I decided to head North again after picking up the drops and putting them in the empty pocket of my backpack. I checked my watch for the time and it looks like I wasted a good 2 hours on that rabbit. It''s almost 8am now and I''m a little hungry too from running too much. I would like to get out of this forest before it gets too dark. I have a flashlight but I don''t think it''s safe to travel at night when I can''t see the surroundings and there''s no sun to base the direction. I don''t want to get anymore lost than I am now. Ooh! I''m level 2 now and all my stats increased. It looks like I got 1 point for each base stat and about 10% increase for my HP & MP. I think I''m gonna save my Stat Points until I''m sure of what I wanna do here. Looks like the coins I picked up are money here. Interesting~ ¡°Ok, now that I confirmed my stats. I have to organize my bag first. I should put my backpack and lunch bag in the Infinite Storage. I should also put some armor on, just in case. And eat some sandwiches before I go.¡± While looking through the [IS] before, I found some leather armors. I took them out one by one and tried them on. Surprisingly, they all fit on top my clothes. I also wore the steel toe leather boots since it would be safer than runners. I took out the Beginner Dagger and hang it around waist with the attach belt. I''m still keeping the gun since I think it would be better this way. ¡°Hmmm... I know how to take things out of the Infinite Storage but I don''t know how to put stuff in.¡± I wonder, do I have to put the items separately or can I just shove my whole bag in there... I held my backpack in front of me and thought of putting it in the [IS] and all of a sudden the backpack starts to glow and it disappeared. I checked the list again and there it was. So I guess right. I did the same thing with my lunch bag and it went it as well.This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. ¡°Nice~ No more heavy lifting for me~ ever!¡± I smiled happily while starting at my screen again. Now back on track... I don''t want to attract more attention from the wild beast here so I shouldn''t practice the flashy Magic skills yet. Although, it would be nice to learn for emergency purpose. After pondering for a bit, I decided to practice a little bit of magic, at least the basic skills. So how do I use it? Never done it before unless it''s from a video game... oh well~ Let''s try it with something I''m familiar with. I read a lot of light novels, web novels, books, manga, watched quite a bit of anime and played a lot of games on my free time... yes, I''m an otaku... somewhat, but I still have time to do other things too since I like to go on a nature trip every summer. I was the one who suggested the camping trip by the way. There might be one way in all of those that might work. You never know. Ok. Let''s try imagining things here. For Fire Ball it would be easy... maybe. I held out my right hand and tried to imagine a fireball as big as a baseball forming in my hand. The fire started to form from the size of a coin and it slowly becomes bigger until it got to the size of an adult fist. ¡°This is sooo cool~ I can use Magic!!!¡± the ball of fire started to shake a little and *POOF* it disappeared... Damn... I lost my focus~ I tried to calm myself down and tried again. It went without a hitch. After it reach a certain size, I think this should be big enough... so how do I hit anything with this? Do I aim and throw, like pitching a ball or do I aim it and fire? I''m not a good pitcher so I tried the latter. I held my hand straight and aim for a tree. I imagine the fireball shooting from my hand and then... *whoosh* it flew towards the tree and *boom* it hit it and left a burnt mark on it. ¡°That was sweeeet~!!¡± I raised my voice in excitement. So I guess the imagination and focus is a big factor when it comes to magic. I decided to try the rest of the magic I possess, and it seems like there are a few different techniques for each one. I just have to use common sense I guess. The names of the skills are pretty straightforward. Fire Ball= Shoots small fireballs to the target Explosion= Shoots a fireball that explodes on contact Water Jet= Stream of water gushing out from my hand as it hit the target Water Bomb= A big ball of water that explode on contact Earth Spear= A spear made from harden soil to pierce the target Earth Shield= A rock solid rectangular wall that rises up from the ground to block attacks Wind Cutter= Sends a scythe like wind to cut the target Tornado= A mini tornado Ice Lance= An ice lance that pierces the target Freeze= Turns a target into a block of ice I couldn''t try the Heal and Cure since there''s no target. Same with Blind and I''m not sure about the Dark Room. Time and Space Magic is intriguing but I don''t think I should try that lightly since I don''t know much about that. I don''t wanna risk getting trap somewhere when I try it. So I decided to try that out once I learn more about magic and maybe find someone to teach me how to use it. I checked my status again and it looks like my MP went down a lot. I should rest for a bit and have something to eat before I go. I took the lunch bag out of the [IS] and took out a couple sandwiches and a bottle of water. I sat down under the nearby tree and started eating while still checking my status. There''s the [ Appraisal ] skill and also what''s that [ Credit Card (+ ) ] and [ ID Card (+) ] at the bottom? I''ll check the Appraisal later since it''s pretty obvious what it''s for. So I clicked the Credit Card one and another glowing thing popped out in front of me. It looks like an actual credit card. It has my name written on it at the bottom and some numbers written at the middle part of it with a blue sky background. I wonder if I can use this to buy stuff.

¡°Alexandr¨¬a Kingdom? Never heard of it and never been there...¡± Apparently I have a pass there so I think I should go there... But the biggest problem is... How? ¡°Would be nice to have a ''Map'' or something¡± as I said that... *DING* A map showed up on the screen with a red dot on it with a white arrow right next to it, pointing towards the green circle on the map. ¡°Seriously?! Should''ve done this before...¡± I said while sighing... ¡°I wonder if that''s a town or Alexandr¨¬a? It looks pretty far.¡± For now, I should just expect this to be like a game and try everything I can think off. Still thinking that it''s part of my dream, I decided to enjoy this game even if it sucks. After checking, I put both Credit Card and ID Card back in the [IS]. I also finished my sandwiches and drank some water. I decided to leave now that I have a destination. I check the time and it is now 9:30am. I should really go now if I want to get out of this forest soon. Chapter 4: Leaving The Forest ¡°I''m set, so let''s go!¡± cheering myself while standing up and patting my shorts clean from dirt. I opened my Map and started following where the arrow is pointing. I threaded through the thick forest while being cautious of my surroundings. Then I spotted another rabbit that was eating some fruits from the bushes. I slowly approach it and when I was close enough to get a good shot, I hid behind the tree. Luckily, it didn''t noticed me since it was busy eating. I held my gun with both hands and pointed it at the rabbit and made sure I won''t miss by aiming at its head properly. I patiently waited until it paused while chewing the fruits and then shot at it. I didn''t miss! I''m getting a hang of this now. I might be a natural when it comes to using guns... which is a scary thought. *DING* It looks like I leveled up again. [Leveled up!] +10 Stat Points I went over to where the rabbit died and I picked up the drops. It looks similar to the first one but there seems to be an extra one here. It looks like a chunk of meat. ¡°Cool~ I might be able to use it for cooking later. ¡± I went and put them all in the [IS] and moved on. I encountered quite a few more of those rabbits and pretty much kill them all stealthily. It works, so I''m gonna keep doing it. I leveled up a few times as well and still saving my stat points for later use. I''ve been walking for quite some time now and it''s getting hotter and hotter the closer it gets to noon. I took some time to rest at a nearby tree. I also took off my hoodie and drank some water to replenish my liquids. After a 10 minute break, I started walking again. From a distance, I can make out a shape of a huge boar probably around 3 feet tall with thick crimson tusk. This might be trouble, if it charges at me. I slowly walked closer and when I finally got a decent view, I decided to climb up a tree. I''m gonna try shooting it from here. If it charges, then at least I''m off the ground so it won''t easily get me. Sitting on a branch, I aim at its body since I couldn''t get a clear view of the head from my angle. I pulled the trigger and shot at it. It flinched and squeals as it winces from pain. It didn''t die, so it darted towards my direction and I panicked... I kept shooting while it was coming straight for me. I think I might''ve hit it a few times since it made a few grunting noises and squeals when I was shooting at it. Still heading towards me at a great speed and then *BAM*. It shook the tree violently and quite a bit of leaves fell as well. I hugged the tree to keep myself from falling. ¡°Damn boar!!! Die already!!!¡± I started shooting at it again non-stop while its tusks have gotten stuck in the tree after it collided with it. I kept pulling my trigger until I heard a high pitch squeal before it started glowing and disappeared leaving a few drops. I let out a big sigh of relief while still have one of my arm wrapped around the tree. *DING DING DING* [Leveled up!] +10 Stat Points [Leveled up!] +10 Stat Points [Leveled up!] +10 Stat Points ¡°Wohooo!!! I leveled up 3 times!!! Take that stupid boar~ hahahah!¡± I celebrated right after I leveled up. I climb down and when my feet reached the ground, I noticed that I''m shaking. I involuntarily sat down on the spot while letting out a long sigh. I would''ve died if something went wrong there. There is a saying that if you die in a dream, that you would die in real life. I don''t really believe in superstitions but I''m not really one to try my luck either so if possible I''d like to stay alive until I wake up. I really hope this is just a bad dream. It feels pretty realistic though. ¡°Lucid dream perhaps? I''ve been reading a lot of light novels lately with this type of setting. Might be the reason why I''m having this dream.¡± I said to myself. Anyways, that boar was dangerous. I sighed again. I try to calm myself down through breathing and I finally stopped shaking. I looked over to see the drops and it looks like it dropped a bigger gem than the rabbit''s. It also dropped the crimson tusks, some coins and a huge chunk of boar meat. I put them all again in my [IS]. I sat down for a bit to take rest again. I felt hungry so I checked the time, it looks like it''s already past 1pm. I should eat something. I decided to try one of the food in the [IS]. ¡°Let''s see here... I need something filling and easy to eat.¡± While browsing the long list of stuff, I finally found something I like, Teriyaki Beef Rice Bowl. I pulled it out and took a fork and started eating it. It''s still hot and it''s pretty tasty too. ¡°It''s nice to have a warm meal in this kind of situation.¡± I muttered. I also decided to drink Gatorade since this trekking is pretty hard on me. I''ve never done this much walking in my life! After I''m done eating, I put all the garbage back in the [IS]. I don''t like littering so I''ll dispose of them later. ¡°Now, before I go. ¡°Wow~ Level 8 already! That''s awesome! 3 levels just from that boar. It was nasty but it was worth it! It''s probably a higher level monster since it took me a bit to kill, where I can kill the rabbit in 1 shot when I shoot it in the head.¡± I said while being amaze at how easy it is to level right now. I then decided to check the map to look at my current location. As I looked closely, I noticed that I''m not that far to what looks like a road! I might be able to make it there in one or two hours. I can finally leave this forest and I might be able to hitch a ride somewhere if I''m lucky enough. I started walking again and on the way, I met a couple more rabbits. It took me another 2 hours before I can finally see pass the trees. It looks like a meadow. After reaching the opening, I saw this vast green meadow with flowers and occasional trees here and there. There are 2 big boulders on the far right side just atop the slight hill with a huge tree right beside it. In the middle of the meadow runs a long, wide paved road! ¡°Yay~ Finally! I just need to follow this and someone might find me and give me a ride somewhere.¡± I said while walking towards the road. I manage to reach the road and from looking on both sides, it looks pretty empty. I don''t see anyone at all. I checked my map again and the arrow seems to be pointing to the right. I started following it so that I''m not wasting time here waiting since I don''t know if there''s even anyone who would show up right now. I checked the time again and it''s already past 4pm. I''m not sure how far the nearest town or city is but it''s not looking good. The sun is setting soon and I might have to camp out here for the night. And I know for sure that it''s not safe to set up camp here with all the monsters around. If I''m setting camp out here, the best place I can think of is near those 2 boulders and that big tree on a hill. It would take a while to set up camp and the sun might set before I can finish so I decided that I would stop here for the night. I walk towards the tree while checking my Infinite Storage for camping gears. I can use mine but it''s not meant to be use here so I better use the ones from this world. It might have other functions as well. Maybe a barrier attached to the tent? That would be awesome. While browsing, I reach the tree and surveyed the surroundings. There doesn''t seem to be any monsters around and it looks like there''s a trace of campfire here. This is a good sign since people use this place as a campground before. I sat down and kept checking the list. I only wanted to use the necessary stuff for sleeping, like tent, sleeping bag and also firewood. I don''t have to cook dinner since I got so much ready-made food in my storage. ¡°Hmmm... Let''s take out the Camping tent for now and my sleeping bags~ wait... What''s this Barrier Stone?¡± While going through the list, there''s this item that caught my eye. I took it out and held this grey looking stone that is shaped like a long diamond in my hand. I tried to appraise it. ¡°Appraisal¡± A screen popped out in front of the item and there was a description on it. [Barrier Stoneis use to make a barrier to protect a certain area from attacks or monsters. These stones are place and hammered into the ground to form any shape of barrier. It can cover a height of 3 meters and width is based on the numbers of stone placed adjacent to each other. Minimum stone needed to form a barrier is 3.] ¡°Neat! Now, I don''t have to worry about getting attack while sleeping. That''s a load off my mind.¡± I said while feeling relieve. I took out the Firewood and placed it on the campfire. I use "Ignite", a Lifestyle Magic skill that I have to set it on fire. It''s pretty convenient to have these. I then took out the Camping Tent, Sleeping Bag and 4 Barrier Stones. To my surprise, the tent was already assembled when it showed up in front of me. It was also a pretty decent size for 2 people. ¡°That makes my life sooo easy~ Thank you game!¡± I mockingly said to screen. I need to move the tent over since it was pretty close to the campfire when it showed up. I dragged it over to the right by the boulders. I hammered the barrier stones into the ground using a hammer from the [IS] and I placed them about a foot away on all 4 corners of my tent. When I finished with them, all of a sudden, there was a thin see-through barrier that formed from the stones. ¡°It worked! Yay~ I feel accomplish now. I know it''s early but I feel so drained today. I should head to sleep after eating.¡± I looked at the sun, and it was setting really quick. It''s getting darker now and getting a little chilly as well. I looked at the time and it''s almost 6pm. I''m glad I decided to set up camp. I took out a portable table and chair. I sat in it to relax for a bit while I browse through the food section on my storage to look for dinner and I found Stew and some bread so I decided to have that. After dinner, I felt so sleepy. I left the campfire going and went to my tent. I set up the sleeping bag on the floor and placed my dagger and gun right beside it. I took my shoes off and wrapped myself in the sleeping bag. It didn''t take me that long to fall asleep. Chapter 5: Another Day I woke up feeling refreshed after a long night sleep. A bit stiff but still feel better. I stretch my arms and I realized I was still wearing the armor. I was so tired, I didn''t even care about it when I went to sleep. I put on my boots before standing up. I opened the door of the tent and went out, still a bit dark and a little chilly. The sun still hasn''t come out yet. ¡°Brrr... so cold~¡± I brought a thin jacket with me in my backpack so I took it out. I took off my Leather Greaves and wore my jacket while I''m still wearing my chest armor. It fits since it''s a bit loose. I put back my greaves right after and decided to pack up my tent. But before that I really have to go to the bathroom. I walk behind the big tree and dug a little hole enough to do my business... I have no choice... There''s no outpost or bathroom around and I really have to go since I''ve forgotten to go yesterday... It''s so not good for my health to hold in it. Good thing I brought a couple rolls of toilet paper with me. So I did my business there and covered it up. I washed my hands using soap and rinsing with the water from Infinite Water Jug. ¡°Haaaa~ I feel better now¡± letting out another sigh of relief. I walked back to tent and place my hand on it to put it back in my storage. I also started digging the barrier stones. After I''m done with it, the only thing that was left was the foldable chair and table. The campfire is already out so I put some more firewood and lit it up again with "Ignite" to warm myself up while eating breakfast. I''m having some Eggs on Toast and Soup this morning. I have coffee in my [IS] but I wanted to try the Lifestyle Magic, Water Fill (Hot/Cold). So I place a pot down on the ground and lowered myself in a squatting position right next to it. I place my right hand, palm facing down over the pot and I started imagining some hot water filling it up. ¡°Water Fill¡± and before I know it, the pot started to fill up with hot water as I felt the steam rising up to my hand and face. I picked up the pot and place it on the table. I took my steel cup, coffee packet and sugar from my backpack and made my coffee. I also found some milk in the [IS] so I pour some on my coffee as well. I started eating my food then. ¡°I''m alive again~¡± I said while letting off a sigh after taking the first sip of hot coffee. ¡°Sooooo~ what do I do now...?¡± trying to contemplate on what to do since I was hoping by the time I wake up, that I''ll see myself back in the bus where I probably doze off and miss my stop. I¡¯m quite disappointed to wake up cold in my sleeping bag still stuck here in this world. If this is a dream, then it''s a veeeeeery long one... and it might not be possible, even in a lucid dream to have a super detailed dream like this. Even eating, sleeping, and moving around, fighting and even the feelings of eating a warm meal with a hot drink. ¡°What if, I''m really stuck here?! Where the hell is this anyways?! And where is the God or something who''s supposed to tell me some information about which world I ended up in?¡± I continued with my rant... ¡°It''s like I got thrown in a VR game with no tutorials about basics, controls and not even given any information about the game and no way to leave. What a shitty game!¡± ¡°What about bathroom breaks...? Those are necessary you know, for gaming marathons. What the hell, God! Stop being lazy and do your job properly!! Geez~¡± I said in a pretty loud voice while being frustrated... ¡°Haaaaaaa....¡± I let out another long sigh to calm myself down. ¡°Is there a way to go back or something? Is it a setting where I have to beat the game before I can leave? I wonder how long it will take...¡± thinking more rationally. ¡°So lucky that it''s Summer Break~ Hopefully, my friends haven''t reported me missing yet to the police. It¡¯s not an option for me since I''m not suicidal and I don''t like pain either so I would like to avoid dying as much as possible. I''d like to live a loooong peaceful life if possible. And if I think of beating the game, which means beating the Last Boss (might be a Demon King or Dragons or something fantasy like) and saving the world (too much responsibility for a normal teenage girl), I''m gonna have to fight like yesterday... ¡°I''m just a normal girl!!! I opened my map and set out to where to arrow is pointing. I''m also sticking to the road just in case I see people. It''s been a couple hours since I started walking. Haven''t met anyone yet or even encounter some monsters. I wonder if monsters do not or rarely approach the road. Maybe there is something here to prevent them from coming? Something like barrier stones maybe? Or monster repellent? Either way, it''s good for me since I''m not wasting my energy to fight them. I walked again for quite some time and the scenery still hasn''t change much. Forest on the right side and green plains where the road is. I would occasionally see some animals or monsters from afar, but they don''t seem to be interested at all in coming closer or attacking me. The sun''s pretty high and it''s gotten warmer again so I took my jacket off. Making sure I have plenty of fluids as well while walking, I''m drinking water from the Infinite Water Jug. Taste like spring mineral water. Another hour has past and I still haven''t seen anyone. I decided to have lunch now. There was a tree just off the road so I sat there and took out some Meat Buns and started eating. ¡°This is pretty good too~ Taste like pork!¡± Complementing the [IS] food stuff again. ¡°I don''t think I''ll ever be hungry with all of these foods. At least the lazy god actually did something nice for once... Thank you again for this~¡± I thank him again while finishing the bun and drinking water. I sat there for a few minutes to rest and digest, enjoying the tranquil scenery. I got up after a bit and decided to move on. I walked for another hour and I saw a huge lake surrounded by trees on the left side of the elevated road. It looks a bit far but I think I can get there in half an hour. ¡°I wanna try fishing there... I dunno what kind of fish they have here but I''m really curious...¡± I''m really tempted to go since I like fishing... a lot~ I checked the time and it''s already past 3 in the afternoon. I still haven''t met anyone and I still can''t see any civilization or town. I checked the map and it looks like I''m only halfway to the green circle where the arrow is pointing. ¡°I guess it''s camping again tonight...¡± deciding to camp by the lake. As I was walking towards the lake, I found a basketball size green furry creature with 2 short legs, 2 short arms with claws, sharp teeth and red glowing eyes. I think it''s a monster too since it tried to attack me by throwing itself at me at a high-speed. That would have definitely hurt me if I didn''t dodge just in time. I shot it down and it immediately died. It dropped a fur ball of the same color as the monster, a tiny gem and a couple coins. As I got closer to the sparse forest around the lake, I''ve encountered more of those furry creatures but in different colors. There are blue, red, yellow, green, pink, purple and so on. I find them kinda cute but I''d rather not get killed by cute stuff so I ended up shooting them dead when they attack... I feel really bad but ¡°Well, it''s killed or be killed... sorry fuzzball...¡± as I shoot another one. [Leveled up!] +10 Stat Points ¡°Nice~ Another level up!¡± I said while fist pumping. There seems to be less now after a while of dealing with them. They are pretty weak and I got a lot of fur balls from them. I might be able to use them later since they''re really soft. I walked through the forest and finally saw the huge sparkling lake. It looks pretty deep too. I walk around to find a nice spot for camping and I saw this nice open shore and decided to put up the tent there. I took out my camping gears and set it up a bit further from the water since I''m not sure if there are any monsters that might come out from there. Afterwards, I lit up the campfire. I also put down the barrier stones surrounding my tent, campfire and eating area. I made it bigger this time. I checked the time and it¡¯s already almost 5pm and the sun is setting. It''s gonna get darker soon so I need a light. I looked through my [IS] to see if there''s any lantern and I found it. I set up one on the table and turned it on. It lit up the whole camp. It was pretty bright. It looks like one of those outdoor LED lanterns for camping. There''s no heat coming from it so it''s not using fire. Might be magic. I wanted to go fishing but it''s getting late. Maybe I''ll stay here for a couple days and try fishing tomorrow. There doesn''t seem to be any scary and powerful monsters around only for those furballs so it''s pretty safe here. I feel so sticky and dirty since it''s been a couple days of non-stop walking. Maybe I should try that Lifestyle Magic. But there are 3 of them I can possibly use for cleaning up... Clean, Wash and Dry. I have a feeling Wash & Dry are not meant for people. So I decided to use Clean on myself. ¡°Clean...¡± I chanted while imagining myself being cleaned and my whole body started to glow. It felt nice and warm, covering my whole body from the tip of my hair down to my toes. It can put anyone to sleep. It started to dissipate and all of a sudden I felt really clean like when I just got out of shower. ¡°This is super convenient~ especially when camping!¡± I said while being astonished of this new discovery. I can finally relax since it''s safe inside the barrier, so I took off all the armor I''m wearing including the dagger but I left my gun with me just in case of emergency. I placed it on the table and l sat down on the chair. I also put my hoodie on because it has gotten cold again. I noticed it''s gotten considerably dark when I looked around except for the camp. I can barely see pass my tent and the trees but I can still see the reflection of the moon and stars on the lake. It''s pretty but I''m too tired to enjoy the view. I think I''ll have my dinner now and go to bed. ¡°I wonder what to eat tonight... I had stew last night so maybe curry!¡± I looked through the list and it has a variety of curry dishes. I knew it''s there since it pretty much have all the food from my world in it. Convenient... is the word that kept coming out of my mouth lately because of this Infinite Storage. I picked Pork Katsu Curry with Rice. Yum~ I''m also having tea tonight since it''s a bit cold tonight. After having my meal, I relaxed for a few minutes and decided to head in for the night while turning off the lantern. I went inside the tent and sat down on my sleeping bag and took off my boots. I crossed my legs and I thought... ¡°I want a pillow.¡± so I decided to stuff some of those furballs in one of my t-shirts after I used clean on them. I tied the open end and I patted it to try it out. It''s pretty soft but passable as a pillow. I laid it on the sleeping bag and I lie down to go to sleep. Just as I was about to doze off... *Boom* *Splash* I heard a loud splash as if something big hit the water and then heard *Whoosh* repeatedly... Chapter 6: New Discoveries! I got up and put my boots on as fast as possible and then went out to check what was happening. I didn''t see much details because it''s pretty dark but from the light of the moon, what I saw was this big dragon looking thing with huge wings flying over. It went towards south of the lake at an alarming speed as if it was running away from something. It just kept flying further and farther away until I can''t see it anymore. ¡°Whoah... there are really dragons here...!¡± In awe, I confirmed another evidence that I''m really not in the same world anymore... ¡°I hope it''s not being followed. It looks like it was flying away from something.¡± I said while looking around, worried if I have to run too just in case but there doesn''t seem to be anyone or anything that followed it. I let out a sigh of relief while holding my chest. It felt like my heart is about to burst out from beating so hard. I calmed myself down while looking over the lake to see what fell on the lake that made that loud splash. There were still big ripples of water starting from the center of that big round thing bouncing up and down, floating in the water. ¡°I wonder what it is. It''s too dark to see.¡± squinting my eyes to make out what it was but I couldn''t see it properly. I took out my flashlight and I started walking towards the shore. I still couldn''t see it even with the light shone on it. I hope it''s not a monster. It doesn''t seem to move at all. ¡°I wonder if I can use magic to bring that thing over. All I have are attacks though.¡± while saying so, I thought of something that might work. If I can create a new magic, then I might be able to bring that over to the shore. I''ve leveled up a few times already and I haven''t learned any new magic or skills yet. So it''s either I need to create new magic from scratch, learn it from books or scrolls, receive tutelage from someone, or get it from using items like Magic Books/Scrolls that will disappear after one usage. I didn''t find any of those items in my [IS] so that''s not an option right now. Magic is all about imagination and focus. If I can make a new one, then there are countless of possibilities I can do with it later. So for this instance, I should imagine a gust of wind blowing from the opposite side of the lake to bring that thing over. I put away the flashlight in my pocket and held my hand straight pointing towards the ball thing and I imagined the wind blowing it towards me. *Whoosh* A sudden burst of wind started blowing and it''s slowly making that thing floats towards me. *Ding* [Magic Creation: Wind Manipulation ] ¡°Ooooh~ it really worked!¡± I blurt out in excitement. I lied down and fell asleep in no time. The next morning, I woke up a bit late and the sun was already high when I got up. I was planning on waking up early to go fishing but I didn''t set up an alarm on my phone since I didn''t wanna drain the battery even though I have a solar charger. I''m not sure if that works here. Gotta try that out today. It''s not that cold now since the sun is up but I wonder if it''s closer to spring or fall right now. Anyways for breakfast, I sat down and prepared it on the table. I decided to have bacon, eggs, toast and coffee. ¡°I love you [IS] for giving me bacon! And God, I forgive you a little since you gave me unlimited food. Thank you!¡± as I started eating my food. I''m really grateful though since I would never have to worry about being hungry, even in the middle of nowhere. I can focus on other things rather than hunting and cooking. That saves me a lot of time to do something more productive like training and learning new things. For example that Magic Creation I did last night. That was easier than I thought, might be because of all the stories I''ve read, watched and played before. For once, I''m proud to be an otaku~ hahaha~ I should experiment it with other elements too later today. Now, back to my main purpose why I camped out here by the lake~ Fishing! I took out my fishing rod, reel and tackle box and walked towards the lake. I found a nice shady spot near the beach where I set up camp. I took out a chair and table and placed my tackle box on it. I also set some barrier stones around me since I don''t wanna get attack by those furballs while I''m busy fishing. I assembled my rod and attached a spinner lure on it to see if I can catch anything with it. Later, I''ll look for worms too because that''s probably the most effective bait for fishing. I could probably use some shrimp or other meat from my [IS] too if I can''t find worms. Now I''m all set, I went near the water and casted my line as far as possible. I started reeling it steadily for the spinners to work. Nothing bit on my first try. I kept doing it for a while and finally something tugs my line! I lifted up my rod and started reeling it in. I caught a decent size bass! ¡°Nice~ so there are similar fishes here as well. That''s good to know~¡± I have this big smile on my face then... *Ding* [New Skill: Fishing ] ¡°So I can learn new skills by trying it out. I continued fishing for a few hours and caught some more bass, walleye, rainbow trout and perch using different lures and baits. ¡°Pretty good hall for my first time fishing here.¡± feeling satisfied, I packed up and left for lunch. I went back to the camp and decided that I want to try cooking the fresh fish I caught today~ The fresher, the better taste you''ll get out of fish. I started the campfire first then I gutted and washed a few perch I caught. I placed it on a plate and put some salt, pepper and spices on it. I skewered the fish using the grilling sticks that I brought with me and placed them around the campfire. While waiting, I tried charging my phone using the solar charger. Apparently it works here too. I have tons of music in my SD card so I decided to play some. I turned up the volume and waited for a bit while singing along and playing around with my phone, occasionally getting up to turn the fish so it would cook evenly. Finally it''s done. I placed them on a plate on the table. First time I manage to catch and cook my meal in this world. Although it''s only a grilled fish, I still feel accomplished that I didn''t rely on my [IS] this time. Well, except for rice... I took out a bowl of steamed rice, soy sauce, lemon and some juice from my storage and placed it on the table. I poured some soy sauce in a saucer and squeeze the lemon on it. ¡°It''s perfect~ Time to eat!¡± ¡°Grilled perch is awesome~¡± as I took a bite on my fish after dipping it in soy sauce and lemon juice. I finished my meal and I still have some leftover fish so I put them inside my storage for now. I want to try and create more magic today so I moved further away from camp just in case something went haywire. I went around on the opposite side of the lake and I met more of those fuzzballs. I took care of them pretty easily. I checked around to see if there are anymore but it looks like it''s clear for now. I then decided to do something similar with the Wind Manipulation last night with the rest of the elements and maybe create a new one as well. It''s an experiment after all. Let''s do fire first. I faced the lake and held up my hand. I imagine a fire bursting out from my hand and moved it from left to right and up and down. It started pretty small from my hand and expanded to a huge stream of flame following the direction of where I pointed my hand. It flew about 20 feet away from me and then I let it fade away until it disappeared. *Ding* another familiar sound came. [Magic Creation: Fire Manipulation ] Neat~ I did the same with Water right after that. *Ding* [Magic Creation: Water Manipulation ] As for Earth, I tried to create a platform on the ground with rocks, flattened it and tried to smooth it like pavement. *Ding* [Magic Creation: Earth Manipulation ] This will be useful later for creating a house or something. Imagining the things I can do with this makes me grin so wide, I feel like my face was ripping. I also did a vertical wall using the same technique about 5 inches in thickness. I could probably build a house with this. I wonder if I can create wood using earth and water. I''ll try that out later. Next is Ice. Hmm... I wonder if I can make an Ice Sculpture with this. Since I''m at a lake, I tried to freeze the lake surface and sculpted a big fish. It started freezing the water from the shore and rosed up forming a walleye looking fish. I nodded and said ¡°It looks pretty decent.¡± I give off a satisfied look while grinning. *Ding* [Magic Creation: Ice Manipulation ] As for Light, I imagined a big ball of bright light to illuminate the surroundings. It started forming on my hand with a little glow and as it gets bigger, it kept getting brighter and brighter. It started floating in front of me and rises above my head level. It was as bright as the lamp I used last night. *Ding* [Magic Creation: Light Manipulation ] ¡°Awesome! Now I can probably use this to travel at night or for camping.¡± I gave off another big smile. I don''t know what to do with Dark and Time & Space Magic so I''ll pass on that for now. Now then, for experimenting in creating a new element, I want to try and make Wood or Plant Magic. There will be a lot of things I can do with it if I learn it. I turned around to face a tree and pointed my hand toward it. I imagine a small sprout of vine coming out of the ground right next to it and made it grow as fast as possible to wrap up the tree. I noticed a green bud started protruding from the ground right next to the tree. It grew to a long thick stem with leaves and thorns around it in no time. It started branching off to a bunch of smaller vines while it crawled and wrapped itself around the tree. It was a success! *Ding* [Created a New Skill: Plant Magic ] [Magic Skill: Vine Bind ] ¡°Nice~ I can make wood now... probably~ Let''s try something else.¡± I turned to an open area and imagined something similar and but instead of wrapping around a tree, I imagined it formed a thick wall of vines. It grew so fast and thick and then it started twisting and weaving while it bends around me and form a bowl shape. I wonder if I can make something with wood now too...¡± I moved away from the vine wall to another open space and tried imagining a wood wall. A bright light in the shape of a room showed up in front of me and it slowly fades. What was left was the room that I just built. It has a door on the right side and a window on the left side. I went inside and it looks like it was all build with wood except the window. It was actually a vertical, wood framed thick glass that swings outwards when you open it. The floor''s hardwood and was darker than the walls. ¡°I can probably make this into a bathroom.¡± I went outside again to try something. I think I should rest for a bit and have lunch before continuing. I should also take some MP potions. I set up the table and chair right in front of the house and took out some food. I also took out one of the medium MP potion. ¡°It''s purple, I wonder if it taste like grapes.¡± I took off the cork and chugged it down. My body started feeling warm and I felt that my tiredness just melted away. I checked my status and my MP was full again. ¡°It really tasted like grape juice.¡± as I looked at the bottle again before putting it away. Out of curiosity, I also took out an HP potion. It''s red so I expected it to taste like cherry or strawberry juice or something. I think I have more than enough furballs for this but I need to double check my storage first. I opened my [IS] and found 287 of them. Awesome! I have enough for more than 1. I was lucky that there were a lot of fuzzball around here. I finished eating my lunch and went inside the room that I just built. I walked over to the left side and decided to build the bedframe there. I selected the build option and it showed up right in front of me but there was some gap from wall. I should move it closer to the wall later. It looks about the size of a double bed. I did the same with the mattress and it appeared right on top of the bedframe. Convenient... that word popped into my head again. I smiled and felt like I was playing Sims with this. Now that I have a place to sleep, I needed some blanket and a couple pillows. I have a small thin blanket that I brought with me for camping but I don''t have a pillow. I was using that makeshift t-shirt pillow stuffed with furballs before but if there''s an option to build one, I should try it. I looked at my options and found them. The blanket cost 10 MP, 30 G¨¬l and 30 furballs. The pillows cost 5 MP, 20 G¨¬l and 15 furballs each. I have enough for both so I made them right away. The pillows were nice and soft and the blanket was so fluffy and warm. After building the bed, there doesn''t seem to be a lot of space left. I moved it over so that it''s touching the wall. I then placed a small square dining table and a chair on the right side as my eating area. Now for the bathroom, I need to think of how am I going to build the toilet and tub connected to a small septic tank. ¡°I don''t think that room I built before is going to work. I should just build it from scratch.¡± I went outside of the bedroom and walked a little further to the left. I dug out about a meter in width and 1.5 meters in height and made a solid rock bottom and walls on each sides. I divided it into 2 chambers with a hole at the bottom of the middle wall. I also left a hole on the right side for drainage of water. | |_____||_______ | || | | || = | || | | _ | _______________ I covered it up and left a 5 inches hole for the toilet and about 1 inch drainage hole for the bath. I also added some wood flooring on top of the tank and made it bigger, enough to fit a small bathtub and a toilet. I build some walls surrounding the floor and an opening wide enough for anyone to go through. I also put 4 2x4" post, 3 inches in height on each corner on top of the walls and placed a wooden roof on it. There should be enough gap there to air out the bathroom. For the toilet, it cost 20 MP and 200 G¨¬l and for the bathtub, it cost 30 MP and 300 G¨¬l. I placed them lining up with the drainage holes. They''re both made from wood. The toilet was just a simple toilet seat with a hole in the middle and no water tank. The bathtub was rectangular with a small hole on one side with a plug. Now for the door, I don''t really know how to build hinges and I don''t have the materials for it. It''s not in the list either so I ended up putting a bar on top, attached to the walls. I hanged a wood panel big enough to cover the entrance using rope that can slide to the side when opening. ¡°That should do for now.¡± I gave myself props for being able to create a makeshift bathroom just like that. I was somewhat satisfied with the result. Now, to test if I can put this whole thing in the [IS] including the septic tank. I placed my hand on the wall and imagined it going in the storage but nothing happened. I tried again but it failed. ¡°Damn. That sucks! I worked so hard on this and I can''t even take it with me.¡± I sighed. ¡°Oh well, at least I didn''t spend that much money on this. I guess I can use it again later when I go back here for camping or fishing.¡± I sighed again. It''s getting late again. It took me all day to build all this but it was worth it. I need to set the barrier stones before it gets too dark. I placed them around the bedroom and another set surrounding the bathroom. I want to try having a hot bath for once since I haven''t done that since I got trapped here. I went to the toilet first and did the usual business... and I used "Clean" afterwards. I put away all my equipment and use "Water Fill" to fill up the tub while checking and adjusting the temperature as necessary. I waited for a bit to make sure the tub wasn''t leaking. I removed all my clothes and went in. ¡°Ahhhh~ Finally, a nice hot bath to relax after a long day''s work.¡± I sounded like an old person who just came home from working all day. Well, I really did work all day though. After a while of soaking, I noticed that it has gotten darker. The bath water turned a little colder so I decided to leave. I got up and wrapped myself in a towel before removing the plug in the bathtub. ¡°The water is draining properly. That''s good~¡± I put on a new set of clothes and went out of the bathroom. I went into the bedroom and turned on a lantern. I checked the time and it''s already 6pm. I sat down on the chair and took out some food and started eating my dinner before heading to bed. As I lay down on the bed, I thought ¡°I can finally sleep in a really nice and comfortable bed. It''s so warm and comfy!¡± I rolled halfway back and forth as I cuddled my new fluffy pillow. I wrapped myself in the blanket and finally dozed off. The next morning, I woke up early and refreshed. I decided it''s time to go since there''s nothing else I wanted to do here. I wanted to meet the people living in this world and see the towns. I wonder if I can understand the language. I have so many questions about this world so the best thing I can do is to look for answers by myself, since there''s no one who''s going to help me. I stretched my arms out as I got out of bed. I had another big breakfast to start my day. I equip myself with the usual armor and decided to keep my gun. I took out a 1H Sword this time instead of a dagger. At least it has better reach and probably would be more useful for me. I placed them both on my belt and left the room. I stored the bedroom and dug up the barrier stones around it. I decided to leave the stone around the bathroom. If another person used this bathroom, I thought that it would really be shitty to get attack while crapping. Hahaha~ I''m not that heartless to leave people hanging. I opened my status and confirmed that my MP is full again. I opened the map to verify the direction I have to go. I double checked the area just in case I might''ve missed something. There was nothing left except for the bathroom which I couldn''t take with me so I decided to leave then. ¡°Goodbye lake~ Hopefully I''ll be back to go fishing again one of these days.¡± I said while walking away from the camp. I looked back one last time before I started walking in the forest. Chapter 8: Hitch a Ride I managed to exit out of the forest without much trouble. I can see the road again from where I''m standing. I''m taking a different route this time from when I first came in here. There''s an open field and a small hill that leads to the road. I walked through the field and finally saw what every fantasy base game have, slimes! It looks like there are bunch of different colors as well. They''re all bouncing around the plains and there are quite a bit of them in numbers. They''re all spread around the area. ¡°They shouldn''t be that tough though because in every game that I played, they are one of the lowest level mob monsters for beginners. I can do this!¡± as I walked towards closest bunch. Once I got close enough, I started shooting them one by one. I manage to kill a few before they decided to attack me. There are some drops but I can''t be bothered right now since they are coming after me. I run around in circles trying to avoid them while shooting and killing them. They kept following me. If I stop moving, they''re going to gang up on me and might ended up in a dogpile of slimes so I kept going. They''re pretty slow but there are a lot of them so it''s hard to keep track of all of their movements sometimes. I turned around and there was one right behind me and it tackled me. *Smack* right on my left side and I got covered in some sticky substance. It felt like I got hit with a sticky blob of liquid and it stings a bit. ¡°Eew~~~ It''s all gooey and gross!¡± I shot the slime as it fell to the ground after hitting me. I couldn''t clean myself up yet since there are a lot more of them slowly trying to surround me. I did my best to keep on moving so I won''t get trap in the middle. This continued on for a while and finally down to the last one on the field. While it started to bounce its way towards me, I shot it. I leveled up twice while in the process of clearing them up. I feel so gross right now since I got hit a few times. My HP is still in the 600s since they didn''t do much damage. I used Clean on me and started picking up the drops. There are lots of different color slime gels in bottles, small gems, a lot of coins and some small HP and MP potions as well. It took me a while to pick them all up. It would be great if there''s an auto-loot option or even an item or pet to do all this. Anyways, I started climbing up the hill and finally managed to reach the road. I checked the time and it''s already past 9am. It took longer than I thought, dealing with those slimes. I started following the road where the arrow is pointing on my map. I took out my phone and started browsing some music then I remembered, I brought my headphones with me in the pocket of my backpack. I took it out and plugged it in. ¡°I''m all set. Let''s play some music~¡± Once it¡¯s started playing, I sang along. ¡°At first I was afraid, I was petrified Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side~ But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong And I grew strong~¡± and continued on singing ''I Will Survive''. ''Don''t judge~ hahahaha~'' After a while, I felt like I was getting hungry so I checked the time. I was so busy singing while walking that I didn''t even noticed that its already been 3 hours since. I should have my lunch soon. I looked around for a good spot and I found a big tree just a bit of a walk from where I was at. I started walking towards it while debating on what I should eat for lunch. The tree looks bigger now that I''m standing right next to it. The tree was surrounded by grass, flowers and a few bushes around. I looked around to make sure that there are no monsters. I took out a chair, sandwiches and juice. I sat there while eating my lunch, just enjoying the scenery. It''s so peaceful and there was this nice breeze blowing south. The sun''s high right now and sitting here in the shade with a warm gentle breeze makes me want to go and take an afternoon nap but I still have a ways to go so I can''t slack off. I finished a sandwich already but I''m still a bit hungry so I opened up the wrapper of another one. While doing so, I heard a rustle in the bushes beside the tree. I stood up right away while putting my food down on the chair. I grabbed my gun and pointed it at the bushes and waited for it to come out. A white fluffy head with pointy ears popped out. It''s trying to wiggle its way through the bushes. I''m just staring at it trying to see what it would do after it got out but it seems like it got stuck there. I wonder, maybe it''s around the steering wheel. He''s driving really fast since there are no traffic on the road. I guess he doesn''t have to worry about speeding tickets here. Also from my experience of being on the road for a couple days, he wouldn''t have to worry much about incoming traffic since there is basically none of that. Even if there are other cars, there is more than enough space for 2 cars. It''s only been a couple minutes when Vyncent broke the silence. ¡°It takes approximately 3 hours to get to the next town from here.¡± ¡°Wow~ That will take me at least a couple days to walk. We had small talks throughout the ride. Most topics were about the town and their specialties and he even asked, how long I was travelling and how I made it there. I told him the boring story of my travels except the experiments on magic part. I''m not sure if that was normal in this world so I decided not to mention it. When I mentioned about fishing though, he showed a lot of interest. Apparently it''s his hobby too and he goes fishing once in a while by himself. He even know quite a lot of good spots so I asked him a favor to show me the location on a map later and maybe a store or two that sell equipment. ¡°How long are you planning on staying in Hewyck?¡± He asked out of nowhere. ¡°Hmm... This world has cars that look like it''s from early 19th century so I''m guessing that the town or cities would have similarities with that era. I can see the town surrounded by tall walls and moats stretched as far the eye can see with a wide bridge connected to the tall opening of the gates with towers on each sides. It looks like there are 2 checkpoints on each side with incoming traffic on the right and outgoing to the left separated by a wall in the middle. There are small booths on each checkpoint as well. ¡°You should prepare your ID because they''re going to ask for it when we get there. You don''t have a pass yet so they''re probably gonna ask you to either pay an entrance fee with tax which you have to pay every time you enter a town or get a pass like the one that you have which has different expiration dates. I suggest the pass though because it''s cheaper in the long run.¡± ¡°I see.¡± I nodded and took it out. ¡°How much is the pass?¡± ¡°1 year is 100 G¨¬l, 3 years is 250 G¨¬l and 5 years is 400 G¨¬l. She rode with us since Serene Meadows.¡± ¡°I see.¡± He pulled out a tablet looking thing from his armor pocket. It''s about the size of an adult hand and he inserted the card at the bottom. A bright light screen came out and it looks like it has some information written on it. ¡°Just wanted to ask, what''s the expiration of the Capital City Pass included with this ID?¡± Vyncent inquired. ¡°Hmm... Let see here. It says 5 years.¡± as he pushed something on his tablet. ¡°I see. Thank you.¡± He gave me this side glance while nodding and smiled. The man is still doing something with the tablet. He peeked at me and was just about to say something but then switches his gaze towards Vyncent. Vyncent just nodded his head and smiled. The man just nodded in agreement and did something with his tablet again. After a minute, he took out my ID and handed it towards me. Vyncent passed it over. He then said his thanks again and started driving off while waving. ¡°Huh? What about my fee? I''m supposed to get a pass at the gate right?¡± I asked in confusion. ¡°Don''t worry. He gave you one.¡± he said with a smirk. I may have looked really confused by now but Vyncent just smiled and reassured me that everything is fine, that I don''t have to worry about it for a while. Chapter 10: A Place to Stay As the car entered the gates, we were welcomed with a huge plaza that connects to a well-lit paved main road with raised sidewalks, bustling with people, horses with carriages and occasionally, some cars. The main road is lined with what looks like Victorian Architecture buildings. Bright lights are coming out of the buildings lighting up the sidewalks as well. It looks like a busy town or was it because this is a business area, that''s why there are a lot people. It is a large town after all. We drove through the busy road and suddenly stopped in front of an Inn that has a signboard that has a red claw mark with the name written in black in the middle. It reads... ¡°Dragon''s Claw Inn?¡± I asked. ¡°Yes, this is the inn I was talking about before.¡± He turned around and said to Mr. Owner, ¡°I''m just going in with her for a few minutes and I''ll be right back.¡± ¡°Hmm.¡± Mr. Owner nodded in reply. He''s such a quiet person. I wonder if he''s shy or maybe just doesn''t like to talk to strangers. Either way, I''m thankful to him since he let me travel with them. I would still be camping out if he refused to give me a ride. Vyncent got out and rushed towards my side. I was just about to open the door when he grabbed it opened for me. He''s such a gentleman. I might be swooning from seeing his handsome stature do something I can only see in a movie nowadays~ My heart, please settle down! There is an opened double door on the left that leads to the dining area and a wide stairs on the right that leads upstairs. We walked towards the desk and were welcomed with another good looking person. She looks pretty young with a long wavy brown hair pass her shoulders. She''s got dark green eyes, small nose, plump lips, fair skin and was wearing a blue plaid dress. ¡°Welcome to Dragon''s Claw!¡± the young lady at the desk greeted us. What kind of rooms do you have?¡± ¡°We have singles and doubles available. They both come with a bathroom, kitchenette, a small table and chair. We also have beast beds available for rental. For bigger beasts, we recommended our Beast Inn in the east. We can set it up for you if you''d like.¡± ¡°I only have Shiro with me so I''d take the rental bed for him. Is the single room big enough for us?¡± ¡°Yes, it should be big enough. What type of wolf is he and how old?¡± ¡°He''s a dire wolf and only 2 months old. I''m not really sure how big do they get though.¡± ¡°They get up to about 3 feet tall on all fours and quite big when standing up. Most are only up to a little over 2 feet. It should be ok for a while though since he''s still fairly young. You have a few more months before he''ll get to a size of an adult dog.¡± (Vyncent) ¡°That''s good to know. I should be ok with a single room for now then.¡± I smiled. ¡°Ok. I''ll set you up with the biggest single room we have as a service, since Sir Vynce introduced you here.¡± she smiled at Vynce and he had a big grin. She went over to the corner of the desk and turned on what looks like a computer screen. They have computers?!?! That''s great~ It''ll be easier to find information then. I should ask about that later. I don''t really wanna take up anymore of Vyncent''s time since he and Mr. Owner might be busy and they were still nice enough to drop me off here. Still, I wanted to know what they''re called... ¡°What is that?¡± I asked Vyncent ¡°It''s called a Data Station or [DS]. It''s a convenient item that does what they''re programed to do. For example, this one right here is specific for doing accounting for businesses and you can also add certain features like keeping track of rentals and bookings. It makes life easier than using papers for bookkeeping and such. It''s made with a special type of mineral and programmed using some magic stones. You can buy one at a specialty store but they''re quite expensive.¡± he explained. ¡°Ahh~ basically a computer.¡± I muttered. ¡°A what?¡± He asked because he barely heard what I said. ¡°Nothing, don''t worry about it.¡± I said while grinning ¡°Now, I''m really curious.¡± While he said that, a man in his early 20s, similar in height to Vyncent with a stern face, wavy medium length brown hair and dark green eyes approached us. He looks a bit like Rosie. ¡°It''s been awhile Vynce.¡± He said while holding out his hand. ¡°Yeah, it''s been awhile Riley.¡± He reached out and grabbed his hand and pulled him closer for a man hug. They tap each other¡¯s back a couple times and let go. ¡°Not with Neil today?¡± Riley asked while stepping back. ¡°Hahaha~ Rosie asked the same question. Let''s get along from now on.¡± She gave me a cute big smile. ¡°Yes.¡± I replied while giving off a friendly smile back ¡°So, how much is it per night? And also, I won''t be needing food, maybe just for Shiro twice a day.¡± I asked Vyncent looked at Riley and gave him a nod while Rosie noticed the atmosphere and just waited for Riley''s decision. ¡°Hmm. Let''s see here. Since it''s going to be a long stay, it would be 30 G¨¬l per night plus 10 G¨¬l for 2 meals a day for Shiro. It¡¯s mostly meat right? We can get it from the Beast Inn in the east. Total would be 1200 G¨¬l for a whole month. If you decided to leave before the end of the month, you will get the amount paid for the unused days. I made sure I checked my total amount of money since I''m not sure how it works. It''s either I have to pay it through somewhere or it''ll automatically deduct it from the money I have on hand. I reach over and handed it to Rosie behind the desk. ¡°Thanks~¡± she said while taking it. ¡°Take the full amount.¡± I said confidently. She inserted the card into a similar tablet looking thing that Mr. Goatee Man from the gate have. Bright light came out and she did push some buttons and then took it out. She handed me both my ID and Credit Card right after. ¡°Ok. All set. I just need the confirmation.¡± She handed me the tablet and ask me to place my thumb on the glowing red square at the bottom right and wait for it to turn green. The tablet is a plain black rectangular block, about a quarter of an inch thick with white borders. It''s pretty light as well. It has a screen on the top half of it that contains information and the other half has letters and numbers just like a keyboard with a small empty space on the bottom right with red glowing border. The bottom has a thin hole just big enough for a card. I placed my right thumb on the square and waited. It only took a few seconds before it turned green. The screen flashed and it changed to ''Confirmed''. I handed it back to Rosie and she peek at it and nodded. She placed it down on the desk and took a key from the drawers and handed it to me. ¡°All done. Here''s the key to your room. It''s on the 2nd floor, Room 202. I can take you there now.¡± ¡°Thank you. Ah~ Hold on just a bit.¡± I said while facing Vyncent who''s still standing right in between me and Riley. ¡°Mr. Ravenswood, thank you so much for everything you''ve done for me today. You''re probably busy and still went out of your way to accompany me all the way here. I can''t thank you enough. I won''t forget your kindness.¡± I said while deeply bowing showing my gratitude to him. ¡°It was my pleasure. Don''t be too formal with me and just call me Vynce.¡± he gave me another one of that gentle and sweet smile. I inserted the key and turned it to open the door. When I opened it, there was another door on the right side, which I''m assuming to be the bathroom. I walked in with Rosie and found a small table and chair on the left. There''s a glass door opening to a small balcony behind it. A double bed with 2 pillows and a duvet is situated on the right side of the room. There''s a nightstand with lamp and another thing right beside it. I don''t know what it is so I''ll check it later. There''s also a dresser on the left side of the bed and a mirror on the wall on top of it. On the right side of the bed, there''s a kitchenette. I''m a assuming that big rectangular box under the counter with a door is probably the fridge and on top would be the stove. There is a sink right beside it as well. There''s a big gap in between the bed and the kitchenette so I can probably put the beast bed right there. It looks so cosy. I can definitely live here for a month, maybe more if I feel like it. Rosy saw my satisfied face and chuckle a little. ¡°I''m glad you like it.¡± She smiled. ¡°Yeah, I can definitely live here for a while.¡± ¡°If you need anything, you can use the intercom on the nightstand there.¡± as she pointed at the box looking thing beside the lamp. ¡°Ok, will do. Thank you.¡± ''So that was an intercom. Good to know.'' ¡°Alright. I''ll be back to get some food for Shiro and his bed. Are you sure you don''t want anything to eat? It''s on the house.¡± ¡°Hmm.. What''s on the menu?¡± I asked. ¡°Tonight''s menu are Beef Stew served with cheese bread, Roasted Chicken with garlic mashed potatoes, gravy and steamed vegetables, and Baked Stuffed Fish with rice and steamed vegetables. Which one would you like?¡± ¡°Hmm.. They all sound delicious. I think I''ll take the Roasted Chicken.¡± ¡°Ok. I''ll be back in half an hour.¡± ¡°Thanks Rosie~¡± She smiled at me and left the room. I sat on the bed to try it out and it feels comfortable. I placed Shiro on the floor and he shook his body before running around the room sniffing everything. He probably got tired of sitting still and being held all day. I checked my status and it looked like the credit card uses the money from my inventory which is great. I can finally relax a little. ¡°Ahhh~ Finally, an actual place with real people and real room with a bathroom! I''m sooo happy.¡± as I said that, I walked over to the bathroom to check it out. I opened the door and saw a ¡°Flush toilet with hand held bidet!!! Bathtub and shower!!! Oh my god~ Yes!!!¡± I yelled in excitement. There is a sink and mirror on the left side with the toilet right beside it. The bathtub and shower are placed in the back wall. People always take for granted of what we normally have until we lost it. This is a great example. I''ve never been too happy, just seeing an actual flushable toilet, a shower and a bathtub. It''s so simple yet super convenient to have but we take it for granted. Being thrown in the middle of the forest just after being transferred here was brutal. I thought that I would never see anything modern ever again until I saw the car. Now, there are even things similar to a computer, tablets, phones, flush toilet and such. This just made me like this world a lot more. ¡°I can finally have a real bath.¡± as I look over on top of the toilet that has a small basket filled with some toiletries. ¡°I have to go shopping tomorrow for more necessities if I''m going to live here for a while.¡± I stared at the tub and shower and was looking for a handle or knob to turn on the water but there wasn''t any. Although I saw this black block similar to the tablet in the middle of the wall. It has 2 glowing squares, one red and one blue with arrows pointing up and down on each. There''s also a glowing green rectangle on top of them. I place my finger on the red square and water started pouring with steam coming out. It looks like it''s for hot water and I''m guessing, the blue is for cold and the arrows are for adjusting the temperature. I was right after playing around with it, I got the perfect temperature for the bath. I blocked the drain and started filling up the tub. I was curious about the green one so I put my finger on it and the water coming out of the faucet stopped and it went straight to the shower instead. I place my finger again over it and it went back to the faucet. ¡°It functions like one of those waterproof touchscreen controls for a shower. So high-tech! I wonder how this works. I don''t think it runs with electricity. Weird.... but cool. Maybe it runs on magic stones like the rest. I really have to go to a library and study this world soon.¡± I sighed. I finished my bath and just when I was walking back to my bed, I heard a knock. I opened the door and Rosie was there with a cart of food and a pet bed at the bottom of the cart. I let her in and she set up the food on the table and even brought some juice and water to drink. She placed Shiro''s food on the floor as well as a bowl of water for him. She also placed the Shiro''s bed right beside mine. It''s like she read my mind. ¡°Here you go. Enjoy! I''ll let you rest now but if you need anything just give me a call. I''ll be in the front desk for another hour. Someone''s switching with me for the nightshift but feel free to ask them anything.¡± ¡°Thank you~¡± (Mika) ¡°You''re welcome~¡± She walk towards the door and turned around ¡°I''ll be leaving now. Goodnight!¡± I said goodnight as well right before she manages to close the door. She waves and gave a warm smile before doing so. I sat down on the chair and looked at the food. It looks delicious. I took a bite and the chicken burst with flavour. They used quite a bit of spices on it but it tasted really good. We finished our dinner and decided to go to sleep right after. ¡°This is a really nice place. I should thank Mr. Smooth again when I see him next for bringing me here. I''m so lucky.¡± as I fell asleep on a nice safe cosy bed. Chapter 11: A Day of Shopping I opened my eyes and saw a grey ceiling. I rubbed my eyes and looked around to see an unfamiliar room. I felt something fluffy right beside me. It was Shiro. He was on his bed last night but I guess he must have jump up on my bed and cuddled with me in the middle of the night. I reached for my watch that I left on the nightstand and checked the time. It''s only half past 5. I should get up soon since I have a lot of things to do today. I reluctantly shifted my body to the side of the bed and got up. I put my slippers on and went to the bathroom to wash up my face. I got out of the bathroom and decided to have my breakfast. I took out the usual [IS] food and ate them at the table. I should ask for Shiro''s food once I''m done. I wonder who''s at the front desk now. I might have to introduce myself again. While thinking so, I finished my food and coffee. I put on my cargo pants, grey shirt, chest armor, leather boots and hang my gun on my belt just in case. I put on the simplest clothes I can find in my backpack so that I won''t stand out too much. ¡°I''ll leave Shiro in the room since he''s still sleeping.¡± I said quietly. I opened the door, look around and the hall was empty. I headed towards the stairs and went down. Before I can reach the first floor, I had a glimpse of the reception and it looks like someone else is there today. It wasn''t the siblings I met last night. A lady around her mid-twenties with long dirty blonde braided hair, gentle light brown eyes and thin lips was sitting there sorting out some paperwork. She''s quite healthy and on the chubby side but still, you can see that she''s very pretty. I was walking towards the desk when she noticed me. ¡°Hello~ Good Morning! Are you, by any chance, Miss Mika?¡± she greeted me in a chirpy tone. ¡°Yes, I am.¡± I answered ¡°I''m Emma. I usually work on days here but have to cover someone''s shift last night. You will be seeing me quite often during your stay. It''s a pleasure to meet you.¡± she smiled that showed her cute dimples. ¡°It is nice to meet you.¡± I replied with a smile as well ¡°Did you need anything?¡± she asked politely. ¡°Yes, I would like to get a meal for my contracted beast.¡± ¡°Ah, yes~ for Shiro right?¡± ¡°Yes. I want to go out early today so if possible, I''d like to get it soon.¡± ¡°Sure, that wouldn''t be a problem. I''ll get someone to bring it over to your room as soon as possible.¡± ¡°Thank you very much.¡± She picked up the phone and called someone to bring the food over. She told me that it will take around 10 minutes. She hanged up the phone and faced me. ¡°Is there anything else you need?¡± ¡°Yes. Actually, it''s my first time visiting this town so I''m not very familiar with the place. I would like to get a map and maybe some input on where I can get some things.¡± ¡°I see. We do have a map here for guests to take. I can mark some good places to shop as well if you don''t mind getting suggestions from me.¡± ¡°I don''t mind at all. In fact, that would help me out a lot. Also, do you know of a place where I can leave Shiro while I do my errands? I''m not sure if I can take him with me everywhere.¡± ¡°Most places actually allow small contracted beast to accompany their owners. You shouldn''t have to worry much about that but if you need a place just in case, I recommend going to the Beast Inn. You can leave your contracted beast there for a period of time. They have day facilities and rooms as well. You can entrust the safety and well-being of your beast there since they''re all experience beast tamers. They will take good care of Shiro and since you''re staying here with us, you can get a discount as well for using their facilities. They''re under our management. All you have to show is the tag that is attached to your room key.¡± ¡°That''s great. Thanks for the info. Can you mark the Inn on the map as well?¡± ¡°Sure, give me one moment.¡± She went through a couple drawers and pulled out a folded piece of thick paper. She opened it up and it looks like it''s a map of the town. ¡°Here it is.¡± she said while placing the opened map in front of me. She grabbed a pen and started marking the places she recommended while pointing out and explaining what they sell and or services they provide. There are quite a bit of shops nearby that I wanted to check out. I also asked her where the Town Hall, Library, and Guilds are. I also wanted to know where the Specialty Stores are. The ones that sell tablets, phones and data station since I wanted to get them. She then marked the Beast Inn and told me that it''s quite a long walk, so she marked the quickest route to get there. The best option though is to take the public transportation. I have to wait at one of the bus stop half a block from here and pay 5 G¨¬l to get transported to the east side of the city. It will take approximately 30 minutes to get there by bus. I gave my thanks and headed back to the room because I don''t wanna miss the room service for Shiro''s food. Just when I got in front of the room, there was a young man in his late teens withbright orange hair and eyes, walking with a cart from the opposite side of the hallway. I opened the door and waited for him to get close and said ¡°Hello~ Is that for Room 202?¡± I asked after I gave my greeting. ¡°Yes it is.¡± He gave me a huge smile. I let him in right after me and when I passed the bathroom door, I got lightly tackled by Shiro who jumped into my arms and hit me with a thud. I caught him in my arms and he started wagging his tail and started licking my face. ¡°Awww~ you''re so cute, Shiro!¡± I cling to him while rubbing my face on his soft fur. I heard a chuckle behind me. I almost forgot that there''s another person here. In fact, I did forget for a second because Shiro is just too cute. I cleared my throat and ask him to place Shiro''s food bowl on the floor. He took the old bowl from last night and places the new one full of meat mixed with a small portion of veggies. He also replaced the water bowl. I gave my thanks as he left with a big grin. I think he was laughing at me for spoiling my Shiro but I don''t care what other people thinks. ¡°Shiro is the cutest! Right?¡± I said while looking at Shiro in my arms. ¡°Arf!¡± he barked as he wagged his tail back and forth. I placed him down on the floor right next to his food and he started sniffing it before gobbling it all up. He seemed satisfied with the food so I''m happy as well. He got a little dirty so I used "Clean" on him. ¡°Shiro, I''m going shopping today. Would you like to come with me?¡± I asked him with a soft voice ¡°Arf!¡± he replied excitedly while shaking his butt and tail widely that he couldn''t sit still. ¡°I think that''s an obvious yes.¡± I gave him a big smile and patted his head ¡°Ok. First thing¡¯s first. I have to train you.¡± I need him to behave because I don''t want to get kicked out when doing my shopping. I grabbed a steak from my inventory and cut them into bite size pieces. I''m using it as a treat for training. I held a piece of meat in my hand and closed it. I sat down beside him and held it over his head. ¡°Sit.¡± he sat down as I said so. ¡°Good boy!!! You''re so smart!¡± I said excitedly while giving him the meat. I held up my hand, palm facing Shiro while he''s sitting down ¡°Ok. Now stay.¡± I got up and started walking backwards and made it all the way to the door. He stayed there and when I said ¡°Come¡± he booked it towards me and jump into my arms again. ¡°Hahahah~ Silly boy! You didn''t have to jump on me~ but that''s a pass. Here you go~¡± I laugh while giving him another piece. I tried different tricks like lie down, roll over, play dead, stand up and heel. I repeated this over and over until he gets it with just a simple hand gesture and would even do it without the treats. He managed to learn them all in a short amount of time. ¡°You''re a genius, Shiro! I think you''re ready to come shopping with me.¡± I said proudly. ¡°We''re going to be walking in a busy town so I need you to stay close to me all the time and behave, ok?¡± ¡°Arf!¡± I think he agreed... Anyways, I got up and check my watch and it''s already 7am. I decided to leave then. I walked out of the room and locked it. I headed downstairs again and Shiro is obediently walking right beside me. He''s a really smart do-, wolf. I almost forgot that he''s a dire wolf. He acts like a spoiled puppy and just super adorable I can''t help but treat him as such. ¡°I''m leaving for a bit.¡± I said to Emma at the reception before heading out the door. ¡°Take care~¡± as she waved goodbye. I walked outside with Shiro. The sun is already coming out. It''s bright and still a little chilly. I looked around and was amaze at the view. There are more people than last night. Horses and carriages are either running down the street or park by the sidewalk. There are only a handful of cars around though. Also, the general appearance of most people are above average and when you see someone who''s not, they can be describe as way below average or just plain ugly. ¡°Totally a game. I wonder if I look normal here. I think I''m a little above average... maybe.¡± I showed an awkward smile. I didn''t notice this last night even with all the people there, but the clothes they''re wearing are similar to the fashion of late 18th to 19th century.The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. Most female wear different style of dresses from elegant, sexy to simple ones with corsets and petticoats and most are up to their ankles. Some men still sports tights and tailcoats, some wear shirts with small corset and waistcoats, another with shirt, vest and long trousers. It''s like I''ve travelled back in time but the difference is that some people wear armors and have their huge weapons in the open. It is like a scene from a fantasy game. After admiring the view, I started walking down the street. On the map that I got, there''s a big clothing store just a block away. I wanted to check that one out first. ¡°Let''s go, Shiro. Stay close to me, ok?¡± ¡°Arf!¡± he replied with a high energy bark. Shiro closely followed me while making my way to the store. I look so out of place with my getup so the first thing I wanted to get are normal clothes for this world. It didn''t take that long before we reach the place. It''s a three-story fancy looking store. Emma said the price here is probably one of the best around this area. I opened the door and was greeted by a salesperson. She''s a little taller than me and was wearing a dark green uniform and black leather shoes. ¡°Welcome dear customer! Is there anything specific you''re looking for today?¡± she asked me with a smile ¡°I''m looking for everyday clothes and also comfortable clothes for traveling. Maybe some dresses as well as shoes if you have any.¡± ¡°This way please.¡± as she leads me to different parts of the store to show me their selections. There are a lot to choose from so it took me awhile to pick. I bought some dresses, shirts, pants, shoes, boots, coats, socks and underwear. After using clean on them, I placed them inside my storage but left a pair of pants and shirt. I changed into them so that I won''t stand out. I went to the next shop and bought some necessities like toiletries, towels, blanket, pillows, bed sheets, wash cloth and such. The next shop is a bookstore. I wanted to learn about this world and also magic. When I got there, I don''t even know where to start because there are way too many books to start with. As I was walking around, I noticed a glass display with a salesperson standing behind it. The display case was filled with tablets like the one they used at the inn. I wonder if I can buy those here. I walked towards it and looked at it. ¡°Hello~ Can I help you with anything today?¡± the salesperson asked. ¡°I''m curious about these items. What do they do?¡± I asked ¡°Oh, these are called Data Tablets. There are different types that contains various information from different books. There are encyclopaedias, world history, academics, magic and more. There is a search function as well and it''s easy to navigate to find the information you need from the books. Prices differ from the amount of information it contains. Would you like to take a look?¡± ''Cool~ it''s like an E-reader!'' I thought while my eyes sparkled. ¡®I want it.¡¯ ¡°Sure, if you wouldn''t mind.¡± I nodded my head while looking forward to it. She grabbed the nearest one and turned it on and placed it on top of the display. She showed me how it worked and how to navigate the countless amounts of books in it. It''s really convenient. ¡°Do you have one that contains all the books here?¡± I asked. ¡°Uhm... No we don''t have one at the moment but we can customize one for you if you''d like. Although, for the amount of information you''re asking... that would come with a high price.¡± ¡°Hmm... How much would that one cost if I made an order?¡± ¡°I''ll have to ask a manager because we have never been asked about this before. She would like to know how much it would cost.¡± the salesperson explained to the manager. ¡°I see. Young lady, we currently don¡¯t have one on hand and have to place a special order for it. It will probably take a few days to make. With that said, the price might be a little high because it''s a special order.¡± he said with an uncertain look. ¡°And how much would that be?¡± I asked again while tilting my head to the side. I really wanted to know even if it''s a little expensive, I need all the information I can get because I''m clueless about this world. I might not survive. I won''t be able to finish this game or return to my world without the knowledge of this world. ¡°Hmm. I¡¯m estimating it at around 100,000 G¨¬l.¡± He said hesitantly That is really expensive... I could afford it right now but maybe there''s a better way to obtain information without buying all the books. I also don¡¯t need all of it. I don¡¯t know how long I¡¯ll be stuck here so I need to make sure that I have enough money to last until the end. I still have to travel to the Capital after and I¡¯m guessing that it¡¯s more expensive there. ¡°Hmm...¡± as I grab my chin thinking about whether to buy it or not. ¡°Do you really need to include all the books here?¡± the manager inquired ¡°Hmm... Not really. I''m looking for specific information but I don''t know where to find it that''s why I figured if I have all of these, then I might be able to figure something out.¡± I explained. ¡°I see. What kind of information are you looking for, if you don''t mind me asking? I might be able to help out and cater a specific set of books to suit your needs.¡± ¡°I''m looking for information about the world and magic. Anything that¡¯s related to magic, like history of magic, learning it including time and space magic especially about teleports. Also, the history of the world, current happenings, heroes, leaders, clans, races, and basically everything that¡¯s related. I also need all the lore and legends. There might be something else but those are the important ones right now.¡± ¡°I can probably afford the special order one but I really have no use for other books like novels and such right now. It will probably take a while to compile all the books I needed though.¡± I added. ¡°Hmm... I see. You''re right about not needing all those books and it would be a waste to buy them all if you''re not going to use them even if you can afford them. May I suggest something else instead?¡± the manager asked. ¡°Go ahead. What is it?¡± ¡°If you come back in a few days, I can compile all the books that I can find that contain all the information you want. It''s still going to be a special order but it''s not going to be as expensive. Also, the tablet we''re going to use for this one is pretty easy to update. You can also go to a library for more information and if you find more books that you would like to add, all you have to do is ask a librarian to add it for you using [DS].¡± ''They can do that?! That makes my life easier.'' ¡°That''s a great idea! I think I''ll go with that. How many days does it take and how much would that one cost me?¡± ¡°I don''t really know how many books are going to be there, and this is just an estimate but it''ll be around 10,000 G¨¬l. It could be more or less. I can give you the exact price tomorrow if you''d like.¡± ¡°Sure. I''ll come back tomorrow then. What time would be good?¡± ¡°Let''s say, any time after 7 am. I went to the Armor and Weapon''s Shop next and bought better equipment for me and also got Shiro a body armor just in case. I''m feeling hungry so I decided to have a meal somewhere. It''s lunch time now so I went to the nearest restaurant. They allowed Shiro in. I thought that since they''re dealing with food, that they wouldn''t allow pets or beast in the dining area but I was wrong. There''s a specific area just for people who have a contracted beast with them. The food was pretty good. I guess it was worth the money. Shiro also got a plate of tasty meat since he''s been a really good boy the whole time I was doing my shopping. I''m full and ready to go again so I decided to walk around for a bit, checking more stores. I bought a few more necessary items and decided I would head back for today since I''m really tired. I paid all my purchases with credit card because I''m a high roller. Just kidding... I''m going to go broke if I kept spending like this so I have to be thrifty now. I only bought the necessities, and a few wants. I''m gonna be spending more for the tablet so I have to save for now. I also have to register at the Adventurer''s Guild so I can sell some drops to make money. I wonder if I should register at the Merchant''s Guild as well. That might make me more money than the former. While having these thoughts, we managed to reach the Inn. I opened the door and got greeted by Rosie. ¡°Welcome back! How was your day, Miss Mika?¡± Rosie welcomed me with a cheerful smile ¡°So busy. I had to do a lot of running around and I''m not even done yet. There''s so much that I have to do still.¡± I said without much energy ¡°Hang in there~ My brother just made some ice cream, would you like to have some?¡± she tried to cheer me up ¡°Ice cream?!¡± my ears perked up and got excited when I heard what she said. ¡°Yes, my brother is a chef so he just made a new batch. It''s a new flavour. Would you like to try it?¡± (Rosie) ¡°Sure! I would love to~ Thank you!¡± ¡°It''s pretty good. I already tried it. You can head back to your room and rest while waiting. We got to our room and first thing I did was flop down on the bed. ¡°I''m beat...¡± my voice muffled because I still have my face buried in the mattress Shiro lied down right beside me and cuddled. I placed my arm around Shiro and almost doze off when I heard a knock. I didn''t lock the door so I gave them permission to come in. The door opened and I heard the cart rolling closer. I turned my head to find the same orange haired young man who brought Shiro''s food this morning came again. ¡°Good evening, Miss Mika.¡± he greeted me politely with a big smile. ¡°I brought you your ice cream and Shiro''s meal.¡± he added ¡°Thank you. Can you put it down on the table for me, please?¡± I asked while still flopped down on the bed. I can see his grinning face in the corner of my eye but I was too tired to care. ¡°Sure.¡± he placed the clear glass with two big scoops of ice cream on the table and put the spoon on a napkin. He then set up Shiro''s food right after. ¡°I''ll be going now. Have a great night, Miss Mika.¡± he bowed and just as he was about to leave the room, he added ¡°Oh and also, don¡¯t forget to lock your door next time. It¡¯s not safe to leave it open specially for a young lady.¡± he cautioned me before he left the room locking the door behind him. ¡®Thanks Mr. Orange Head¡¯ I thought. That''s nice of him to do so since I''m too drained to do it. I forced myself up and woke up Shiro who fell asleep beside me. ¡°Shiro~ wake up. You gotta eat your dinner properly.¡± Shiro woke up and jump down the bed and went straight to his food bowl. He ate it quick and went back on my bed to sleep. ¡°You know you have your own bed.¡± I sighed ¡°Oh well~ at least I got a cuddle buddy.¡± I walked over to the table and sat down. I grab the spoon and started eating the ice cream. ¡°Yum~ It has a fruity flavour but I don''t know the taste. It''s pretty good though.¡± as I finished the whole thing. I used clean on me and Shiro before changing into my tank top and shorts for sleeping. I crawled onto the bed and cuddled with Shiro and fell asleep in no time. Chapter 12: Adventurers Guild The next day, we had the same routine before going out. I woke up first and asked for Shiro''s food through the intercom and a different person brought it this time. We had our breakfast in the room. I put on a light brown shirt with dark grey trousers that I bought from the clothing store yesterday, a pair of leather boots and a gun in my weapons belt. This time, we left the inn before 7 am. We got to the bookstore before it opened. I still have about 5 minutes to spare. I looked around and everyone seems to be busy and going on their way. Looking at the scenery, it still feels so unreal that I''m living here right now. It''s been a week since I got here and I still haven''t figured out how I ended up here. I have to find out more about this world. I''m planning on going to the library today as well. I also plan on registering at the guild and sell some things to make some money. I can''t keep spending money because I don''t have an unlimited amount like the food in the [IS]. I have an option of opening up a stall to sell my food items, but it''ll take a lot of time to make money and I don''t want to do that as much as possible because I would rather be training and leveling up instead. I won''t be able to progress at all if I stay like this. Although the toughest part about this is that I don''t have a goal other than finding a way home but without any information about this world, I can''t do anything. That is why I decided to stay here for a month. I''ll gather as much information I can possibly get and move on to the Capital before anything else. The first thing I have to do is get my hands on that Data Tablet that''s full of information. After that, going through as much books as I can possibly read and remember and I''ll think of what to do right after. As I was thinking of what to do, the closed sign was replaced with open and the door opened up. The person who opened the door was the store manager, Reese. ¡°Good Morning, Miss. You''re back early today.¡± Reese greeted me kindly. ¡°Good Morning, Mr. Reese. And yes, I would really like to know to price and place the order as quickly as possible.¡± I said in return. ¡°Reese will do. Please come into the office with me. I have the price and information all sorted out.¡± he said as he ushered me inside the store. We walked to through the store passed the displays and bookshelves. We went behind the counter and he opened the sliding door on the left side of the wall display. He let us in and closed it behind me. There is a small office that has two desks, a big one on the left side and a smaller one on the right side of the room. The bigger one has two chairs, one in front and one behind it while the smaller one has only one chair. Both have Data Station on the desks, file racks and phones. There''s also a door in the middle of the back wall and file cabinets and organizers on the opposite side. He asked me to sit in front of the big desk and he sat behind it. Shiro sat on the floor right beside me. He opened the file folder in front of him and turned it around so I can see it. It looks like a list of books and 2 set of prices on the right side. ¡°This is the list of books and their prices as stated. The prices on the left are for the printed version and on the right side are the prices that you''re looking for the tablet. I found a total of 1027 books that have the information you want and then some extras that might be related to the things you mentioned which I included on the list. You can either opt out on getting those or we can include them if you''re willing to buy them as well.¡± He explained. ¡°I contacted the [MS] Tech and he quoted me 2 prices. One with just the books I mentioned and the other one with the extras, both are written on the last page. I''ll give you that copy for you to review and then you can decide which one are you planning on getting.¡± He added. ¡°I have a few questions about this.¡± ¡°Go ahead.¡± He nodded and looked at me seriously. ¡°This might be a weird question but since I''m from a secluded village, I don''t know a lot of the things here in town. What is an [MS] Tech and what do they do?¡± I asked awkwardly. ¡°They are called [MS] Tech or Magic Stone Tech because they deal with Magic Stone Programming. All of them are Mages that specializes in that field. They basically use a Data Station and a Programming Block to program an item to do specific things. For example, they would insert their Magic Power into a Magic Stone to charge it. Magic Stones are used as a power source for all Magical items. That''s only the basic. A lot of them are a bit more complicated to explain.¡± He gave a quick explanation. ¡°Uhmm... Sorry, but I still quite don''t get how they program things using the Data Station and what is a Programming Block?¡± I asked with a confused expression. He scratches his head and seemed like he didn''t want to give a full explanation about this topic. ¡°Well, there are a few books included in the list that explain this in full detail. You''ll be able to read them later when you get it. It takes a long time to explain it in detail since there are a lot of bases to cover.¡± He said apologetically. Just when he said that, a male employee walked in from the door on the back wall. ¡°Good Morning, Manager¡± he said while giving a quick nod ¡°Morning, Tom. The store is already open so please start right away. Jenny is already on the floor.¡± he said in relief and sighed. ¡°Yes sir.¡± he said as he left through the sliding door we came in. ¡°Now back to topic.¡± He said as he looked back at me. ¡°How about going through the list first and then decide which one are you going to get. You can bring the list home or you can use this room to do so.¡± ¡°Can I quickly go through the list and let you know?¡± ¡°Of course. Feel free to use this room. Hahahah~'' Anyways, I wanted to get this tablet as soon as possible so I went through the list as quickly as possible. I checked the prices and the one with no extra books are 10,200 G¨¬l while the other one is 10,800 G¨¬l. ¡°Hm. Not bad and there''s not much difference between the two.¡± I made up my mind on which one to get. A few minutes later, the manager came back in. ¡°How is it?¡± He said as he entered the office. ¡°I think I decided which one to get.¡± I said while smiling. He nodded his head and went to get some papers from the file cabinet by the door. He sat down on his chair and placed the papers on the desk. ¡°Which one are you planning on getting?¡± he said while marking the places I have to fill up on the paper. ¡°The one with the extra books. There''s not much difference in price so I''ll take that one instead.¡± He gave a quick nod and filled up the form. He placed a note at the bottom to include the extras and the total price as well. ¡°Ok. Here''s the order form. I need your name, address, contact information and Magic Seal on the bottom right corner.¡± he said as he handed me the paper. He took a pen from his drawer and placed it right in front of me. I took it and started reading the form. ¡°For the address, I''m temporarily staying at an Inn at the moment and I don''t have the address. What should I write down?¡± ¡°You can just write down which Inn are you staying at and it should be ok. How long are you staying there for?¡± ¡°About a month and it''s actually pretty close to here. It''s the Dragon''s Claw Inn.¡± I said while filling up the form. ¡°Dragon''s Claw eh? I see. Have you met Riley yet? He''s the owner of the inn.¡± ¡°I have. I was introduced by an acquaintance. Apparently, they''re close friends or so I was told.¡± I glanced at him and it looks like he knows who I''m talking about. ¡°Was it Sir Ravenswood or Sir Alnwyck?¡± ''I guess those two are really popular...'' He is a Knight and the personal bodyguard of Sir Alnwyck. I''ve known Riley and his younger sister since they were small so I knew their childhood friends as well. Sir Alnwyck is also a frequent customer to our store.¡± Wow... I thought they were both famous but I didn''t think that Mr. Alnwyck is the son of a Duke who is also the Prime Minister. I had a feeling Mr. Smooth is a part of the Military or a Knight because of his outfit. Let''s not make a big deal about it and change the topic. Once it turned green, I removed my finger and saw a black thumbprint on the paper. ''Cool, I didn''t have to use ink to do that... I guess it''s magic too.'' I thought while handing him the paper. He checked it and gave a satisfied look. ¡°There will be a 50% down payment and the rest will be paid after you receive the product. It is a special order so it will take three to five days to complete.¡± he smiled and wrote down something on the form. ¡°Would you like to pay with cash or credit card?¡± He asked. ¡°Credit card.¡± I said as I took out my card and handed it to him. He took out a tablet from his drawer, pressed some things and inserted the credit card. He handed me the tablet right after. ¡°Hm? Why is it only 5,250 G¨¬l? Wouldn''t it be 5,400 G¨¬l for 50%?¡± I asked while tilting my head with a confused face after I saw the amount on it. ¡°I gave you a little discount because you''re acquainted with Sir Ravenswood and Sir Alnwyck.¡± he said as he gave me a broad smile. If there''s anything missing or if you want more books to be added, feel free to come and talk to me. I can give you a good deal. I will contact you once it''s done. You can either pick it up here or we can drop it off at the inn.¡± he smiled again. ¡°You can just drop it off at the inn. Thanks again.¡± We got up at the same time and he held out his hand. I took it and shook his hand firmly and we both smiled. He thanked me for the business, led me out of the store and bowed when I was leaving. I started walking to the Adventurer''s Guild. It took me 15 minutes to get there. It looks like the Merchant''s Guild, Town Hall and Library are all in the same area. I''ll have to check them all up. The Adventurer''s Guild is a three-story building on the right side of the main road with a warehouse on the right side of it. I opened the frosted double door and was welcomed with what looks like a big lounge area on the right side with comfortable looking sofas and coffee tables in sections with wood dividers that has patterns on it. There is also a huge black board that has Quest Board written on top. It has a bunch of bordered squares lined up with big letters on the top left and things written on them with reward prices at the bottom. A huge cafeteria on the left side was separated by a half brick plant divider wall. The reception is just a straight walk through the wide hallway with dark red carpet from the door I walked in. Wide curved stairs are located on right side of the reception area that leads to the second floor. There are some tough looking people wearing armors and big weapons all over the place. There are also some mages who wear robes with staffs or wands and some lightly armored people around with their weapons openly hanging on their waist, side or back. ''I totally look out of place here. This scene looks like it came out of a fantasy game or novel. My inner otaku is screaming ''Hell Yeah!'' right about now... hahahah'' I thought while walking to the reception desk. I was greeted by a nice looking young lady with long light brown hair loosely tied on the left side and bright cat-like brown and grey eyes. ¡°Hello~ How may I assist you today?¡± she asked with a courteous smile. ¡°Hi~ I would like to register in the Guild.¡± I said with a friendly smile. ¡°I need your ID and a 50 G¨¬l Registration Fee.¡± ¡°You need to renew your membership every year for 30 G¨¬l as well.¡± she added as she pulled out a tablet and placed it on the desk. I took out my ID and handed it to her. ¡°Thank you~¡± She looked through it and started using the Data Station behind the desk. She looked up at me and asked ¡°What should I put down for your class?¡± ¡°I use a gun and also magic. Which class would suit me better?¡± I asked in return after explaining. ¡°You can register up to two classes. If you use both guns and Magic, I suggest putting down Gunner and Mage as your classes.¡± ¡°Ok. I''ll have those two then.¡± She nodded and type it into the Data Station. After that, she then inserted my ID in the bottom of the tablet and looks like she typed in some more info. It needed a Magic Seal, so I placed my thumb on it and did the usual. After she processed my registration, she handed me a Guild Booklet and told me to read it later and make sure to follow it or I can have my membership revoked. There are some information regarding trading and job request in the booklet as well. She handed me my ID back and a Guild Card. Job Requests - All jobs are screened and moderated by the Guild before it''s posted. - The Request Fee is based on the total reward for the job. ''Interesting... '' I thought as I closed the booklet and decided to check out the next place. Before I left for the door, I remembered that I wanted to sell a few things. I went back to the receptionist and asked her where I can sell some monster items. She directed me to the far left side where there''s a young man who was dealing with another person. I decided to wait until they''re done. While waiting, I went to the Quest Board and looked at the quests available. It looked like there are a few people requesting rabbit''s fangs and horns. There is also one looking for boar meat. I walked back to the receptionist and inquire about the quests on the board. ¡°I''d like to take on some quest. I already have the items needed for it.¡± ¡°Sure, can you show me your Guild ID?¡± ¡°Here you go.¡± as I handed her the ID ¡°Which quests did you want to do?¡± ¡°The ones for the rabbit''s fangs and horns. And also the boar meat.¡± ¡°There are 4 E-Rank Quests and 1 D-Rank Quest in total.
