《Emotionless》 Chapter 1 - Prologue Hey, my name¡¯s Shima Takeo. I live with my grandparents, my parents died when I was a kid. No one knows how or when, but my grandma tells me they were in an accident. I¡¯m ten and although my parents are gone, I have no other problem in life except for one thing. I have a bit of a bully problem. Every day when I¡¯m walking to school they jump me under the bridge and take any money my grandmother gave me. I give them a little so they think I gave them it all, but I hide enough to get through the day on a simple pork bun. As of late, weird things have been happening. I¡¯ll get mad at people and just hope for something bad to happen and it always does. Today the kids who normally jump me did it again, ¡°Hey Stinkma Taco, where¡¯s our money?¡± I look him in the eyes ¡°Sorry Butch, I don¡¯t have anything today. Can I go now?¡± Butch and his buddies push me to the ground. They say that I¡¯m lying and I¡¯ll regret it. They start to punch and kick me, at first I take it but just remembering all the times they took the money from me. All the times I was cold and hungry, I snapped. A shockwave hits them, sending them off their feet and onto their ass¡¯s. ¡°I¡¯m sick of you all. I will make you pay.¡± I send a flurry of punches, four hitting each boy. I walk to Butch, crawling backward away from me. I send my fist into his stomach and pull back one more for his face but I get dizzy. My head spins and it fades to black. I hear a thud, yelling and a boy who I¡¯ve never heard before. ¡°Bloody hell, they banged you up real nice, didn¡¯t they? It¡¯s okay, I¡¯ll help you.¡± I wake up in my room, my right arm is in bandages and my head is light. I lay there for a moment, gathering my strength as I sit up and begin to walk out. I reach the living room to find my grandmother and a random boy at the table. He must¡¯ve been the boy I heard, I walk up and knock on the wall ¡°Hello?¡± I ask in a soft voice. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. ¡°Who are you and why are you here?¡± My grandmother gasps and he tells her its okay. He looks me up and down, ¡°They hurt you pretty bad. I was the one who carried you home. I was also the one to patch you up. My names Declan, Declan Summers. I came here to speak with your grandmother about coming to a new school.¡± I jump a bit and sit down next to him, ¡°Isn¡¯t a teacher or the school supposed to send a formal letter and not a student?¡± He laughed and nodded, ¡°Yes, but my dad was sent and he brought me along. He fell asleep so I decided to tell you instead. So, would you like to come with me or stay here?¡± Thinking, ¡°I need time to decide, why me?¡± ¡°Your powers have come to light and now with your power, you are given the privilege of joining the school,¡± he said quite seriously. ¡°Powers? Privilege to join what? What type of school is this?¡± He laughs and looks me dead in the eye, ¡°Taemiths, school of magic of course. A school where people who have magical powers go to train and fine-tune themselves into skillful mages.¡± Pulling a paper from his side, he hands it to me. The paper a letter written by the head of the school Mr. Igoras Dear Shima Takeo, It has come to our attention that your powers have surfaced. As you have been told by the teacher Mr. Summers if you join our school you¡¯ll have multiple opportunities to control your power and put it to better use. We formally invite you to join Taemiths school of magic and alchemy. ~Mr. Igoras I stare at the letter in silence for a minute, my mind racing before it¡¯s all clear to me. ¡°I accept.¡± Chapter 2 - Arrival ¡°Alright, then let me go get my dad. He¡¯ll be right pleased with me getting you into school!¡± Declan got up, rushing to the door and hastily putting on his shoes before walking out. I walk into my room and get dressed in normal clothes, my grandmother hands me a duffle bag full of my clothes. ¡°Good luck on your studies.¡± Walking around the house for a little, I think of the next time I¡¯ll come back. After a while of walking around, I come back to the living room. My grandmother hands me a small letter envelope. I look up at her, ¡°I¡¯ll call you after I get situated in the dorms.¡± After leaving the house, I see a tall man with golden hair. He wore a trench coat, tall boots, and a flask hung from his belt. It was filled to the brim with liquid, the rest of his belt had shiny knives. He opened the door into the RV, ¡°Right this way Mr. Takeo,¡± I step inside and place my bag next to the empty bed. I take a seat at the small table in the RV and he peers back at me from the driver''s seat. I think to myself ¡°How the hell did he get there that fast!?¡± He gives me a goofy grin, ¡°Hold on tight!¡± He drives backward by slamming on the gas. I scream and hold the table for dear life. When the RV stops I¡¯m slammed into the seat I was already sitting in. I open my eyes and Declan is helping me up ¡°Are you okay? I imagined your first ride would be hard but not anything that bad.¡± I get up slowly, ¡°Yeah, thank you.¡± The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation. He smiles and pats my back, ¡°My pleasure!¡± He picks up my bag and another, which I assume is His. He steps out of the RV and I follow him, curious about what he¡¯s doing. Surely we couldn¡¯t have gotten. Here that fast, right? Once I step out of the RV I¡¯m on a dock, watching the crystal blue waves sway back and forth almost in a rhythm of an old song I know. My grandmother used to sing it to me I think. At the end of the dock was Mr. Summers and Declan. I speed toward them, nearly getting lost in the crowd. When I¡¯m squished, Mr. Summers grabs my wrist and yanks me forward. ¡°Thank you, but you nearly dislocated my wrist¡¡± He laughs, ¡°Trust me, if I wanted to do that, I could.¡± He gives me a stare with dead fish eyes. A shiver goes down my spine as I look at Declan. He grabs my hand and leads me to a ferry that pulled in just a moment ago. He points out every window, trying to show me something but I don¡¯t see a thing. We make it to a small bench where he sat us down. As soon as we were off a young woman came by with a trolley asking if we wanted anything. ¡°I¡¯ll take some scream cheese, three sour frogs, and some vanilla spider legs.¡± I look at him in pure disgust as I ask, ¡°Could I please have a coke and some type of normal candy like skittles.¡± she hands me a rainbow bag with a coke and Declan smiles at me. I don¡¯t trust that smile. I open the bag and a rainbow pops out, spraying skittles all over the booth. Declan and his father burst out in laughter as I sit there covered in skittles. They eat some as I try to get out of the huge mess. I''m teased, about it the whole ride there. We arrive at a misty lake next to dark oak trees as far as the eyes can see. I peer over the lake, the school stands tall and bright like a beacon in the night. The forest surrounding the school seems to fear it. Going over to the lake we find a couple of rowboats awaiting us. The boats were made of what looked to be the same wood as the trees but seemed more ancient. Mr. Summers walks over and calls us over, ¡°Get in here guys, we¡¯re almost at Taemiths. The school''s headmaster is waiting for us, so let''s not keep him waiting.¡±
