《Journey In A New World》


 The Beginning

    This was the last hour of Yggdrasil. Most of her guildmates had already left the game. Not that she could blame them. Everyone had gained more than enough resources to create the best armor in the game and the only reason this guild was created was to occupy the regenerating mountain. The mountain itself had mines of every resource in the game however that wasn''t the special thing about the mountain. The mines in the mountain regenerated as if they were untouched. The regeneration time varied between an hour and a week depending on the rarity of the mineral but it still allowed a player access to infinite amount of ores.


    She looked around the area she had logged in. It was the entrance of the guild base. For a second she glanced at the walls surrounding the mountain. They were pure black as they were made of adamantium and there were several yuki-onna''s standing guard on them with no expression on their face through that was natural considering they were simply made by pressing randomize button. With a sigh, she entered the guild area being greeted by a dirt path and several defensive structures ranging from mage towers to ballistic with most of them looking out of place in the snowy landscape.


    As she proceeded towards the top of the mountain she saw ice statues carrying sacks of ore and dumping them to storage. They were randomly generated workers whose only trait was that they were immune to cold damage. If it was up to her she would have probably made some ice wolf woman npc''s that were wearing skimpy clothes miners however even if she was the guild master she would instantly be kicked out of the guild if she did that. She was only guild master in name after all. The only reason the title was left to her was because nobody wanted to deal with trade request notifications and random messages begging for free ores.


    At the top of the mountain, there was an adamantium castle with several flags that were there to remind everyone where to take position in case of an attack and further inside were several storage and crafting buildings that were used to store and refine the ores. Funnily enough despite the sheer amount of ice woman outside inside was filled with ifrit''s working in the forges. Despite being workers these NPC''s had class levels as they were there in case someone had frost resistance.


    Walking further inside she finally encountered the throne room which was part of the decorated area. If invaders made it this far everyone had agreed to just throw in the towel. As a result, she was given free reign designing this place and design she did. She had added several areas that were vital for an actual settlement ranging from underground farms to barracks through she didn''t have enough time to check them out.


    There were a total of six. They were all woman that had fit her taste of course. Each of them were wearing a white uniform and each had a circle with frozen flower petals on their chest ranging from a petal to six petals. The first one was a beastman with white wolf bloodline. She had a rather large chest and her uniform was specifically designed to make her look like one of those girls from anime''s that are always at the risk of exploding their clothes with silver long hair to match her anime-like looks. She also had a fluffy tail and fluffy wolf ears. Her name was Hitomi. According to Hitomi''s backstory, her parents were killed by humans when she was a kid and the only reason she survived was the interference of her current queen. As a result, she had dedicated herself to getting stronger so that she could protect her savior.This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.


    She couldn''t help but giggle a bit. Considering Hitomi was level 100 it could be said that she had accomplished her goal.The one with two petals was a woman that appeared human at first glance however, in reality, she was an ice spirit. Her name was Toshiko. Unlike her beastman companion, she had a rather petite body and she was rather short through just like every other ice spirit she had silvery hair. According to Toshiko''s backstory, she used to be imprisoned in a magic crystal forced to power weapons until she was freed by her master and she had pledged her loyalty to her as a result.


    The third woman was a warforged. Unlike the other two she had a rather average looking body and her face was one that you could barely remember even if you saw her every day except for the glow her eyes were giving off. Her name was 48S as to further emphasize the fact that she was a robot. According to her backstory she was originally built to help the Ifrit working at the forges however due to the constant magic waves she had developed sentience and due to being unaging she had eventually ascended from an aide to the supervisor of the forges.


    The fourth woman was a Nephilim. She stood 6''5 tall and this combined with her black irises with white sparks that looked like stars made her glance rather intimidating. Her name was Ziafa and she had come to their guild in order to take refuge from those that were hunting her. Over time by gaining the guild masters trust she had rose up in ranks until she became one of the people running the place. People had also treated her as one of them rather than some beast which made her consider the guild more of a family than her own family.


    The fifth one was a frost dryad. She had brown hair with white flowers seemingly blooming out of it. She had a rather motherly face. This combined with her body that had a bit more fat than the average girl she made someone want to be held by her and be told that everything would be okay. Her name was Hedera and according to her backstory she had been here before the guild had settled here. They had made a deal with her with them giving her tribute in return of her taking care of them and as time passed she had started to see the people of the castle as her family and started to no longer expect tribute.


    The final woman that was supposed to lead all the others as well as act as the guild masters bodyguard was a yuki-onna just like her. She was rather tall through not as tall as Ziafa and she had a rather stern look like a drill sergeant. Her name was Celestine and according to her backstory the two of them had been friends since they were kids through naturally as her creator she had become far more successful than Celestine. Nevertheless, Celestine was eventually offered to be the vice leader by her and she had readily agreed.


    Checking the game''s clock she noticed only a minute remained until the shutdown of the server so she sat on the throne and sighed. As twenty seconds were left until the game was closed permanently she murmured:"Well I guess it will be easier to focus on college after this." and then the shutdown time arrived and the timer disappeared along with other game aid screens

 Chapter 1: The Discovery

    She immediately started trying various commands:"Menu, Character, Mail" yet none of them worked. As she was trying to figure out what was going on Celestine looked at her before saying:"Is something wrong?Perhaps I and other commanders could aid you?" which caused her to be a bit shaken. Was this perhaps a prank made by the administrators for players who chose to stay until the game was shut down. As she was trying to figure out what was going on Celestine said:"Ma''am" and her suspicion that this was a prank immediately vanished because Celestine''s lips were moving. There were no lip movements in Yggdrasil.


    With a small movement of her hands, she said:"Celestine I am fine. Don''t worry about it. Go outside and check out the perimeter along with the rest of the leaders please." trying to get her to leave so that she could actually try to focus and figure out what was going on. Celestine gave her a small salute before turning to the rest of the group and saying:"You heard our lady. Let''s go." and one by one they walked out of the room. As a way to make sure that she was still inside the game she gave herself a small pinch and it was actually slightly painful.


    She scratched her head a bit and paused for a second as the realization sank in. She slowly got off of the throne and tried feeling out the place a bit. Touching the flags hanging from the walls. It was a weird feeling to actually experience the room she had designed. As she was about to try sniffing the flags for good measure the leaders started coming in which made her immediately let go of the flag and walk back to the throne trying to pretend that she wasn''t doing anything suspicious.


    Celestine spoke:"Ma''am the entire mountain was transported somewhere. We seem to be in a mountain range of sorts. What do you propose we do?" What would they do?What was the best course of action? Everyone was looking at her expectantly. After a brief awkward silence, she decided to do what she would do if she was playing some sort of strategy game and said:"Hitomi. Go organize several scouting parties to search the nearby vicinity. Do not engage with any locals. If you see anyone or any sign of civilization report back here as soon as possible. Ziafa. Put the fortress on red alert until we know more about the area."


    She then paused once more as the two saluted her and left. The four rulers were still looking at her expectantly. Finally, she turned to Hedera and said:"Make sure our farms are working at full capacity and prepare for expanding them. We don''t know whether we can import food here or not." Okay, that was three out of three. The only ones that were left were Celestine,48S, and Toshiko. Scratching her head she finally gave up and tried to muster what little authority she could muster before saying:"Celestine. Do you have any suggestions on what should be done?"


    Celestine seemed to be deep in thought for a second before saying:"We could arrange for the ice maidens to strengthen the walls with frost in case of a siege and we could have the ifrit''s prepare several booby traps in case of an attack." talking like the disciplined soldier she had imagined her to be. Giving Celestine a small nod she said:"Toshiko. Direct those who are in the reserve to create fortifications out of ice. 48S have the ifrit''s prepare traps." which the two responded by giving a salute. Now it was only her and Celestine left in the room.


    As she looked at Celestine she thought that since they were somewhere else maybe moral restrictions were no longer in place. She immediately shook her head. These thoughts were unacceptable. It would be similar to brainwashing someone for perverted acts. Plus she didn''t feel anything other than physical attraction to Celestine. Noticing Celestine staring back at her she cleared her throat and said:"Well I guess there isn''t much to do until the scouting parties report back to us. Until then I am going to supervise everyone one by one and I want you to stick with me."


    She then got off of her throne and started walking outside. It felt weird having actual snow touch her skin considering she lived in an area where it never snowed. Perhaps it was a bit ironic that she had chosen to make a snow themed character despite having only seen snow on television and internet. Her thoughts were interrupted by Celestine asking:"What do you plan to do once we encounter the local''s ma''am?" It was a good question and one she had no clue about how to deal with so she just said:"I am going to decide on what to do depending on the danger level they pose." which Celestine responded with a nod.This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road.     The first stop of the pair were the walls in which guards seemed far more alive than she was used to seeing them. They were nervously looking at the distance as if prepared to shoot the first thing that was seen in the distance and Ziafa''s intimidating stare was probably not helping how nervous they were. She thought about lowering the danger level but as she was thinking that Celestine commented:"It''s good that the soldiers are ready. In this foreign place, we can be attacked at any given second." which she could do nothing but respond with a nod. The pair then proceeded to walk outside.


    Toshiko was sitting down at the moment seems to be waiting for something and before she could ask what that was Celestine acted:"Is this disobedience?What are you doing sitting down when you could be preparing fortifications?" in a demeaning tone and when Toshiko tried to defend herself by saying:"Well I was waiting..." Celestine immediately said:"So you can''t work while waiting?" causing Toshiko to squirm and quietly say sorry. As Celestine was preparing to continue her scolding she couldn''t help but say:"Celestine that is enough. She made a mistake but it won''t happen again and the amount of work she can do on her own is limited. It is better for her to save her energy to act as a supervisor."


    Celestine immediately lowered her head and said:"Of course you are right ma''am. I will be more careful in the future." Well one couldn''t make everyone happy at the same time through she also disliked seeing Celestine down so she said:"Let''s head to the forges to see how everything is progressing." which Celestine responded with a nod. As the pair made their way to the forges they passed through several women that were presumably heading to fortify the wall with ice. She wished this had been an option in the game however it would probably end up with everyone setting up fortresses everywhere.


    As they approached the forges she started to feel a bit uncomfortable. Probably due to her new race even if her skills nullified the damage she felt uncomfortable in hot places which felt weird in a different way. She normally liked heat and summer was her favorite season yet right now the heat was making her uncomfortable.


    Upon seeing the pair all of the ifrit''s started working harder perhaps to impress them or perhaps in fear of punishment. Nevertheless, it was good that they were working hard. Upon proceeding further into the forgery they saw 48S studying a bear trap of sorts before throwing it into an extradimensional chest. Upon noticing the pair''s arrival she gave them a small salute before saying:"The traps are being made at an acceptable rate. Once the smiths get used to crafting these traps they will be made much faster. Is there anything I can help you with ma''am?" which she responded by shaking her head and saying:"Glad everything is progressing well on your front. " before turning to Celestine and saying:"Let''s head to the farms and then I am going to call it a day."


    Being honest she was feeling extremely tired considering the initial shutdown time was midnight and the whole thing had been a real shock to her. Finally, the pair proceeded to the farms below the castle which were handled by snow dryad''s which were much weaker forms of frost dryads. Unlike the ifrit''s the dryads didn''t seem to mind their presence as they continued to grow the crops with their magic. In the middle of the field was Hedera coordinating the dryads. Hedera smiled at them upon seeing them and said:"Our crops are more than enough to feed the people in the fortress through I still asked my sisters to help stockpile food. Is there anything I can get for you?" which she responded by shaking her head and saying:"I am glad everything is going well on your end. I am going to call it a day at the moment." before heading back to the throne room.


    Along the way she said:"Celestine while I sleep you are in charge. Should our scouts encounter any natives or should an attack occur wake me up as soon as possible. For now station yourself at the walls in case you need to coordinate a defense." which Celestine responded by saying:"With all due respect. Shouldn''t I stay next to you for your protection?"


    After a few seconds of silence spent searching for a possible excuse to prevent a beautiful woman that will probably make her too nervous to sleep and possibly cause her to cross a line she shouldn''t cross she finally said:"I can manage to protect myself, Celestine. At this time of emergency, the people need you far more than i need you." which Celestine responded by nodding before leaving to take her position.


    After Celestine left she proceeded to her bedroom behind the throne room and threw herself at the king-sized bed. It was as fluffy as she thought it would be and within moments her vision darkened and she passed out. She was woken up by after what felt like seconds Celestine and upon seeing her eyes open Celestine said:"Ma''am we discovered a nearby village that seems to be inhabited by humans."

 Chapter 2: The Meeting

    Her eyes were wide open the moment she heard about the human village. She said:"Okay. Meet me in the throne room within half an hour with rest of the commanders. I will make an official statement once everyone is there." which Celestine responded with a nod before leaving her room. Well, she had gained around half an hour to think what she could do. The thing that came to the top of her head was to send someone to be an emissary but all of the NPC''s were created as soldiers and since there were no humans in the fortress they could treat humans badly which could cause an attack or something similar.


    A direct attack was an even worse idea. Regardless of success, it would end up as a war in a world they had no clue about. After twenty minutes of thinking, she had been left between two ideas, Going in disguise in order to learn more or having the soldiers pretend they were carnival workers and put on a show. While the second idea was rather fun to imagine the first idea was probably going to work much better. Taking a deep breath she got off of her bed and walked to the throne room where all six of her commanders were waiting.


    Sitting on her throne she said:"I will be going to the human village along with Hitomi with both of us being disguised as humans. If things go as planned I may stay there for a few days. Should something occur during my absence use a message spell. While I am gone Celestine is in charge."


    As soon as she was done speaking Celestine said:"With all due respect it is extremely risky to go to the human village without a certain amount of bodyguards. Please reconsider." and for a second she did reconsider but going with several bodyguards would result in a huge commotion so she shook her head and said:"My decision is made. Hitomi while we are travelling there brief me regarding what the scouts found. Do not skip any details." which Hitomi responded by giving a nod. She was obviously trying to seem professional however her tail was giving away her happiness. Finally, she said:"That is all. You may scatter." which caused everyone except Hitomi and Celestine to leave the throne room.


    With a sigh, she turned to Celestine and said:"I will be fine. I am more than capable of defending myself." before pausing for a second. Was she capable of defending herself?Well whether her powers worked or not would be revealed the moment she tried to disguise herself and Hitomi using magic. Not noticing her pause Celestine simply nodded and walked out of the room. Maybe she should have chosen Celestine as the guard through, to be honest, she felt like if something happened in her absence Celestine would handle it far better than anyone else herself included.


    After there was no one left except her and Hitomi she placed her hand on Hitomi and said:"Disguise Other" which immediately made Hitomi''s ears and tail disappear replacing them with human ones as well as turning her clothes to average brown villager clothes. She then used the same spell on herself causing her white hair to turn black and causing her skin to get a bit tanned as well as transforming her clothes. This spell would be invalidated if someone in the village had true sight or a similar spell, however, this spell was the only thing that could hide the fact that they were not human. As they walked through the fortress Hitomi gave her the report she had gotten from the scouts.


    According to the scouts, there was a certain military presence in the village and there were several slaves working in the fields. They had also spotted a few people with high levels of health and mana levels near the village through they couldn''t approach in fear of being discovered. These news were alarming, to say the least however this was still the best course of action. As the pair walked through the gates most of the guards watched behind them and they continued to do so until they disappeared from sight looking like they were debating whether to follow them or not.


    As they got closer to the village she noticed that it was less of a village and more of a slave camp with guards waiting over farmers. Her first instinct was to immediately designed these people as evil criminals and decide whether to attack them or avoid them but then she thought that maybe she was approaching the situation in the wrong way. Maybe this place was held by a lord or something similar. Through there didn''t seem to be any settlements in the nearby vicinity so this place was their best bet to learn more about the place they were in and they were highly likely to just collar two passersby or so she hoped. Nevertheless, to be on the safe side she used a message spell to tell Celestine:"Send a scout group near the village and have them prepare to strike if we don''t return in two hours."Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval.     Also to make sure her offensive magic was still working properly in case things turned sour. She pointed her palm at a nearby rock and said:"Triple Maximize Magic Ice Shard" an instantly three ice shards flew towards the rock stabbing through it. She very soon realized she did a horrible mistake. Due to diving deep into thought she had forgotten about Hitomi''s existence and now Hitomi was staring at her trying to tell what was wrong. Trying to play it off she said:"Just checked something. Let''s keep moving."


    As the pair got closer to the slaver camp three armed man started approaching them. She instantly started regretting her decision as this had been far less scary in her mind but fleeing was the worst thing she could do at the moment so she forced herself to keep walking until she met the three armed guys. The largest one that seemed to be their leader checked them out in a rather obvious way before saying:"I wonder if the boss will let me keep these two cuties?" and with that Hitomi punched the man''s head downwards causing cracking sounds to be heard through she wasn''t sure whether the sounds came from the man''s head or the ground. Considering Hitomi''s strength stat chances were it was both.


    Hitomi then said:"Nobody disrespect my lady." and as the two man tried to draw their weapons both of them found their heads on the ground as well. As this happened several fires that were probably used to send signals were lit in the camp while workers were rushed into the buildings and with that any hope of diplomacy was lost through, to be honest, she wasn''t particularly regretful about this. The man also showed no sign of getting up so considering they were downed in one hit they were probably around level 15 at most. Before she could decide on a course of action the fields were lit on fire and for a second she thought she saw someone jump into the camp.


    Well at the moment there were two choices. Either use the fire as a distraction and just leave while pretending this never happened or try to help out those who set the fire and hope these guys were the criminals and then she decided to do the former. The latter was not only risky but it could end up in a fight with those that set the fields on fire which would remove the chance of them having chosen the right side. To be on the safe side she said:"Anti-Information Magic Wall." and within a minute she felt something trying to break through her defense which was a weird feeling considering normally the defense warning was just a small warning screen.


    As they were walking back she said:"You can''t react to people like that. This time we got a distraction for unknown reasons but next time we might not be so lucky." which caused Hitomi to lower her head and nod. As the pair walked together they encountered the scouting squad and she said:"We are returning to the fortress." and the woman who seemed to be the leader of the squad gave a nod and they walked back in silence as she processed what happened.


    Hopefully she had used Anti-Information Magic Wall on time, however, there was no way to make sure. The only option they had now was to send scouts further away in hopes of finding a town or a city that is hopefully not inhabited by slavers. She also made a mental note to not to take Hitomi along with her through at the same time anyone whom she took with her would have the same reaction to a man acting like that.


    Upon arriving to the gates she turned to Hitomi and said:"Send scouts further and report to me should they find anything. Also, make sure they all have a caster that can cast Anti-Information Magic Wall." which Hitomi responded with a nod. Through now she didn''t have much to do other than to sit down and wait for scouting reports to arrive. Was it too late to reconsider her decision regarding not having romantic relations with NPC''s she had created? She could really use some companionship after that disaster. The moment she thought of that she shook her head. That was a line she shouldn''t cross no matter what happened.


    Upon reaching the throne room she saw Celestine waiting for her and she said:"Celestine. Make sure the entire area is blocked against information magic and that no attempts are made to breach the shields." which Celestine responded by giving her a nod and leaving her to wallow while sitting on her throne trying to figure out what to do in case they were spotted. Was it too much to ask to be able to make the whole fortress just float away towards somewhere where nobody could find it?

 Chapter 3: Introduction

    The rest of the day was being relatively uneventful with scouts having nothing to report and her not having any information spells.. She wished she had learnt some spells she could use to view the distance but being limited to 300 spells she had to focus on the spells that were required as she leveled up. As the day continued she started to be bored of sitting on her throne in case someone had something to report so she slowly got off of her throne and walked towards the walls intending to patrol the fortification both to see the changes this transportation brought as well as to kill time.


    As she walked around the fortress each person who saw her gave her a salute which she responded with what she hoped was a proper soldier salute through she wasn''t even sure whether a leader was supposed to salute the soldiers who saluted her. That happened in the movies but movies were unreliable at best when it came to facts regarding the military. As she was walking while trying to remember something she knew about military she saw Toshiko who was currently directing the creation of ice walls. Despite her design being slightly on the childish side mainly because she was trying to create for the lack of a better word a loli while designing her, she seemed to handle her leadership role pretty well.


    As she was staring at her creation Toshiko turned at her and immediately gave a small salute before starting to approach her. She wasn''t sure why all of her NPC''s were so militaristic. She had given them backstories that would push them to improve themselves as fighters but that didn''t explain why they were so militaristic. Maybe the fact that all of the NPC''s except the ones she had designed had been created as guards which influenced them causing them to think this was an actual military headquarters rather than a place built for the sole purpose of grinding ores. At the very least they weren''t warmongering. She couldn''t see a future in which she could prevent a group of bloodthirsty warriors from attacking everything in sight.


    Upon coming in front of her Toshiko gave her another salute and said:"Ma''am everything is progressing nicely. We should be able to defend against anyone without cold resistance." which she responded with a nod before smiling a bit. Despite everything going poorly or perhaps because everything was going poorly, she found a girl with Toshiko''s build playing the role of a commander rather adorable. Quickly wiping the smile off of her face she said:"Well I am glad everything is progressing well. Make sure to keep me or Celestine updated. Now get back to work." which Toshiko responded by giving her a nod and returning to rest of the group she was in charge of in order to direct the improvement of fortifications.


    Walking further through the walls she saw Toshiko sitting in front of the gates seemingly focused on something with several caster yuki-onna standing next to her . She then saw one of them use a spell after Hitomi said something. She couldn''t tell from afar but it was probably message sent to the scouts, Approaching Hitomi slowly as to learn if there were any updates she said:"Are there any news..." through before she could finish her sentence Hitomi jumped to her feet. Hitomi immediately turned around she said:"Ma''am!" looking as if she was caught doing something bad with her ears twitching and her tail mopping the floor.


    Would it be too far to ask to pet her ears?As she was thinking this Hitomi said:"I am sorry for ruining the mission ma''am. Punish me however you see fit." before lowering her head. At that moment she thought whether it would be possible to declare her punishment rubbing her ears before deciding against it. If anime''s had taught her anything it was that for any beastwoman ears were extremely sensitive and rubbing them bordered on sexual harassment. Plus she didn''t think Hitomi had done something that required punishment and she thought she had said that but clearly Hitomi was feeling guilty so she said:"I will decide on your punishment at a later date. Even if your punishment isn''t given now I expect your work to continue being exemplary." which Hitomi responded with a nod and sat on her seat looking reinvigorated.


    After spending another half an hour patrolling the fortress she decided to head back to the throne room and wait for a report to arrive through before she could sit down Hitomi dived into the room and said:"Ma''am after a scouting party reached to the edge of the mountain formation a city was spotted in the distance. " while seeming rather excited. Nodding to Hitomi she said:"Alright. Have the scouts use message to deliver an image of the map they drew and have the map written down. Also, have Celeste prepare a mount for me. Try to get this done as soon as possible" Maybe she was hurrying things a bit too much but to be honest if she had to continue to pretend to be a ruler for another hour she was going to go crazy.This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval.     As Hitomi went on to relay her orders she started to plan out the trip in her mind. To start she had to assume they didn''t use identification cards or something similar. Otherwise this whole idea would get destroyed faster than she could blink. Would they accept the gold from the game world or would she need to carry trade goods?Through trade goods she could get from the castle would probably draw a lot of attention. Perhaps she could sell a few items from her inventory pretending to be a magic item salesman.


    Was her inventory even working?That was going to require testing. She was going to be really upset if she ended up losing all of the rare equipment she worked hard to acquire. Noticing Hitomi''s stare she cleared her throat and said:"Tell scouts to keep scouting the area. That is all." which made Hitomi give a nod before leaving the throne room. Now that she was alone she reached to the air and thoughts about her staff before making a pulling motion and there it was. Her staff. She had worked several nights designing it to the tiniest detail. There were four snake-like white dragons coiling on one another and at the top, they split in four directions with each having an orb in its mouth along with a large orb at the top of the staff.


    Activating the staffs'' special ability was really tempting however it would probably be really messy so she decided to postpone it for now. After sitting on her throne for a few minutes in order to give everyone some time to prepare she ended up being bored so she got off of her throne and started playing around with her staff throwing it up and down. After what felt like hours but were probably 10 minutes Celestine came into the throne room and said:"Ma''am your mount is prepared and a map was drawn to lead you there. Would you like me to accompany you?" She considered the offer for a second before imagining Celestine freezing someone while calling them trash which caused her to immediately shake her head and say:"No need. I can take care of myself."


    Using the staff as a walking stick she exited the throne room heading to the gates. As she walked along with the staff almost every soldier stared at the staff. Perhaps they were remembering how it was used in defenses through the staff wasn''t actually something that should be adored. It had a pretty neat ability that had a huge area of effect however just activating it once consumed all of the users'' mana and halved their mana regeneration for the duration of the effect which was basically a death sentence in any duels or small-scale combats.


    As she reached the gates she saw the Frost Horse waiting for her. Hopefully her disguise magic also worked on horses. Otherwise, she was going to have to walk on foot for a few kilometers which was going to be really tiring. Attempting to mount the horse she realized the fact that she had no clue regarding how to ride an actual horse. Looking at Celestine she tried to make a really tough decision. Was she going to accept that she was a fool and ask Celestine to come along so that she could help with the horse or just improvise with the horse and hope she didn''t crash until she was out of sight?


    In the end she was forced to choose the latter as she had never been good at balance games. She said:"I reconsidered. Celestine you and I can share a horse however you are not allowed to use any force on anyone we encounter or do anything that will start a fight without my specific order. As a final note. You are to treat me as your friend rather than your superior until I say otherwise." which Celestine responded by saying:"Yes ma''...Alright" and mounting the horse before offering her hand. Taking her hand she climbed behind the horse and with a touch she turned the horse into a brown horse with several dots on him through disguise magic. She then proceeded to apply the same spell on herself turning her hair black and turning her clothes to what she believed to be basic townspeople clothes with a brown top and black pants before proceeding to do the same to Celestine. With both of them having similar disguises she couldn''t help but imagine someone thinking they were sisters which gave her a small smile as well as a distraction to not to think of what they were going to do once they actually reached town.

 Chapter 4:Recruitment

    As the pair got closer to the city she couldn''t help but stare at the city with a slight bit of awe as it was a medieval city literally out of books except it wasn''t computer generated graphics. It was a literal city with farms around it with people working on the farms. The people were actually moving and they were actually changing the world rather than just standing there. If Celestine wasn''t with her she would probably head to those people just to confirm they were real and talk to them asking how it felt working at an actual farm.


    As they got closer to the gates they spotted several guards at the gate with merchants in the line that were currently paying taxes to enter the city. Celestine guided the horse to the end of the line. As they got closer to locals she couldn''t help but admire people as even what she assumed to be peasants were beautiful with their skin being smooth and their hair almost glowed under the sun. She couldn''t imagine just how beautiful people that were actually considered pretty in this world. Her time in this world hadn''t been fun so far but she could easily see it being really fun with people looking pretty like this.


    After waiting for around a few minutes they finally got to the city gates. Slightly out of curiosity and slightly to assess the general situation as they got close to the guards she used Discern Enemy on them and as she had somewhat expected the guards turned out to be between level 5 to 10 which made her feel a bit more confident regarding her abilities as well as less wary of the dangers this world would pose to them through she decided to not to do anything rash until she had more information regarding the situation.


    Without checking anything on them the guards allowed them to go inside. Walking through the city was an interesting experience with people walking through the city as people were going to their work in medieval clothes or going into the bars. It was like an extremely realistic medieval simulation. Trying to stay focused on the mission she tried to think of what to do. Assuming adventurers guild existed here it would probably be the best place to gather information and as far as her knowledge regarding fantasy worlds go they always had an adventurers guild which they could learn everything worth knowing about the recent occurrences in the area. There was also the ulterior motive of wanting to see an actual adventurers guild of course.


    After looking around for a bit she saw a brown-haired young guy wearing leather armor which was the stereotypical appearance of an adventurer in her mind. If someone was going to be able to tell it was going to be him. Approaching him she said:"Excuse me. Is there a place for adventurers to gather in this town?" trying to avoid using the adventurers guild word because it could be under an entirely different name through after a brief thought were adventurers even called ''adventurer'' in this world. As far as she had heard from people talking on the line people seemed to speak her language so maybe there was an automatic translation function?


    The person whom she assumed to be the adventurer said:"Ah. I believe you are looking for the adventurers guild. I was about to head there as well. I can take you there if you want." which she responded by saying:"That would be great. Thank you." before turning to Celestine and saying:"Follow behind us with the horse." before starting to walk along with the man. As they walked he asked:"By the way what business do you have with the adventurers guild?Are you going to post a job or something similar?" which was a good question and one she hadn''t thought about as she had been too awed by being in an actual medieval fantasy world. How was she going to gather information?At that moment she had a flash of brilliance that was either a great idea or one that was terrible enough to make her want to become a shut-in after it failed.


    She said:"Well I was thinking of registering as an adventurer. You know. Explore and learn a bit about the world." which caused the man to look at her for a second as if he was assessing her before saying:"You know. Adventuring is a hard life and it has a lot of difficulties and you don''t look like someone who would be fit for such a life. Are you sure you want to do that?" which caused her to immediately look at Celestine as if telling her to not to do anything rash before turning to the man and using ''Discern Enemy'' He seemed to be level 23 so she said:"I am sure I can manage. Plus I am much stronger than I look. By the way, assuming you are an adventurer can you explain a bit about how adventurer guild works?"


    The adventurer said:"Well it''s a simple system. You are given a guild card which changes material according to your rank. The ranks are Copper, Iron , Silver, Gold, Platinum, Mythril, Orichalcum and Adamantite. By the way, For reference''s sake, I am a gold rank adventurer." which made her immediately ask:"I see. Is there a test one can take to start at a higher rank?I mean I am sure there are retired soldiers who have a lot of combat experience that does not want to start from copper." which caused the adventurer to think for a second before saying:"Well I never heard about that since I started as copper but I guess you could ask about that at the guild through I advise against that since it''s often better to start small."


    She just gave a nod through she was obviously going to disregard his advice. She didn''t want to start with newbie quests if possible and a test would probably allow her to gauge her strength compared to others in this world much better than she could with individual assessment and comparing herself to those. After walking in silence for another minute the adventurer pointed at a wooden building before saying:"That''s the adventurers guild. Anyways. I am off to handle some jobs. My name is Sando by the way. It was nice meeting you." before waving at the pair and going towards the guild. Turning to Celestine she said:"Thanks for not doing anything rash. It would be hard to handle an incident in the city." which Celestine responded with a simple nod.


    Then the pair walked to the guild and Celestine tied their horse to a nearby hitching post before they walked into the guild. It was irritatingly loud and there was the smell of beer all around the guild which further irritated her through she tried to stay focused on her mission and approached the guild counter upon which a blonde receptionist approached her and said:"How can I help you?" She responded by saying:"Well I was going to register as an adventurer." which caused the woman to study her before saying:"Are you sure?I mean if you have magical abilities there are far safer jobs."Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve.     She said:"I am sure. Also, do you have any sort of exams I can take before I register in order to start at a higher rank?" which made the receptionist actually look down at her for a second before saying:"There is through you will need to pay a certain amount depending on the rank you want to start on." which made her pull a money sack out of seemingly nowhere before saying:"By any chance do you accept money in foreign currency. I mean the money I have is pure gold but it isn''t normally used in the area." which the guild receptionist responded by saying:"We will need to test the purity of the money but other than that it should work out. Which rank do you want to start out with?"


    After a brief pause spent considering her options she said:"Is it possible to test for being an Adamantite rank?" while hoping she wouldn''t regret this decision. If she lost which was highly likely then she would learn more about the strongest of this world and even if she won and caused a spectacle she would confirm that she was strong enough to deflect any dangers to herself. Either way, it was a win for her. Unless she got killed but it probably wasn''t going to be a match to the death. At least she hoped. As she considered saying that she was joking a gigantic woman wearing purple armor approached her and said:"Look at this pipsqueak thinking she has what it takes to become an Adamantite adventure. Alright, I''ll test her and the test money is on me." before dropping a sack of gold on the counter.


    She then said:"Let''s head out of city so that I don''t accidentally damage public places." As she was imagining being hit by her hammer a woman under a red hood with a white mask whispered something to the other woman whom she responded with a nod. As Celestine looked like she was going to interfere she breathed a sigh of relief through at the last moment Celestine seemed to give up. At that moment she was reminded of how she asked Celestine to not to start any fights without her specific order and she couldn''t exactly tell Celestine to help her out at this moment. While she was looking at Celestine the muscular woman turned to the masked woman before saying:"Can you teleport us somewhere where we won''t harm the surroundings." which the masked woman responded with a nod before grabbing both of them and with a flash she found herself at a grass field.


    After a few seconds of silence, the muscular woman said:"Go ahead and take position and don''t you dare hold back or you might get seriously hurt." which caused her to gulp before walking a bit away from the woman. The masked woman walked to the middle of them and said:"You two will start when I say start." and after a few seconds she yelled:"Start." upon which she immediately said:"Triple Maximize Magic, Frozen Shields." and immediately three shields made of ice appeared in front of her and it was not a second too late as the shields immediately received a hit from the hammer through they didn''t seem to suffer from any damage.


    Taking that as a chance she made the shield move away for a second before pointing his hand at the woman and saying:"Maximize Magic, Icicle storm." which made a flurry of icicles start flying at the woman.


    Spinning her hammer at an extreme speed the woman seemed to easily block the icicles through one of them managed to get through stabbing itself to her shoulder. The woman said:"That was a neat move pipsqueak." and as soon as the woman said that she moved the shields in front of herself once more expecting an attack and the woman said:"Martial Art: Shield breaking Smash" and in an instant one of the shields were shattered through as soon as it was the shield ended up shooting its part all around itself in the form of icicles wounding the woman''s stomach. Considering the woman had the ability to break through her defenses it was probably a bad idea to fight against her directly so she said:"Summon Warrior Of The Deep Mountains" and a warrior statue started rising from the ground through before it could finish it''s rise the woman launched another attack breaking another of her shields.


    When the second shield burst into icicles the muscular woman was prepared as she deflected the icicles with her hammer through that had granted enough time for a three meters tall statue to finish rising. The statue was shaped like a knight wielding a longsword and without waiting for a second the statue raised it''s longsword and attacked the woman whom blocked the attack with her hammer through the sound of the sword and hammer clashing sent reverberating sounds across the area. While the woman was busy fighting one of her summons she started summoning another knight. As the second ones summoning finished she looked at the woman and noticed the signs of freezing on her hammer as well as her body. Almost everyone she had fought in the game had gotten equipment that was resistant to frost damage so it felt a bit weird. Through before she could send the second one to attack an icicle flew towards her and her last shield shattered blocking it.


    Then the woman wearing the mask said:"No human has access to that high tier of magic. What are you?" and at that moment she realized. It didn''t matter if she could protect herself from danger. If people realized that she wasn''t human she wasn''t going to be allowed into cities regardless of whether she could defend herself or not. She said:"Wait. I can explain." before dismissing her summons hoping it would be taken as a sign of good will. No longer under attack, the giant woman said:"Evileye calm down. If this pipsqueak wanted to actually harm us she wouldn''t be so hesitant to fight through I wish to hear the explanation of what someone as strong as her doing in this area."


    She said:"Well...Is there any possible way I can say that it is a long story and get away with it." and upon having them stare at her like they could kill her she said:"It''s a really long story but all I want is to learn about this country and hopefully find a place in which I can actually belong." including a bit of her feelings along her confession. The two looked at each other and Evileye said:"Well i can''t just let you hang around doing whatever you want. Especially considering i never heard of anyone use spells you just used..." before going silent for a bit and then the muscular woman said:"She is trying to say that you can do whatever you want as long as you are under our supervision. You wanted to become an Adamantite adventurer right?We will need to discuss it with Lakyus but how do you feel about joining an Adamantite adventurer group?"
