Walking down to the control room he hears a muffled cry scream out like a bird in pain. Never one for indecision he hurried down the steps into the control room. The room is filled with dark lighting and thick air where it is a little harder to breathe. He looks for the source of the sound and turns to see it originating from the generator. The generator is cube roughly half his height sitting in the middle of the room. The cry continues turning into a pitiful wine till he rips open the cube to find a small baby bird that has instead of where feathers should be dark rolling flames. Looking at the wires connected to it he try to disconnect even though heat seemed to be rushing out like a blast furnace then when a warning goes off on the intercom ¡°generator unstable a breach has been made in the containment center please evacuate immediately this is not a drill,¡± As he thinks what is going on a blinding flash appears and then nothing As he next opens his eyes he sees two parents looking over him and finds himself wailing. His wife was just about to give birth and he had heard many thing about what could go wrong during birth. Hearing this Chen Jao rushed into the room to see his wife ,Jane Jao, hold the little boy that is wailing trying to calm the little baby. This baby was the man formerly known as Edwy Sharp who was quickly realising where he was and what he was. ¡°He¡¯s so precious¡±murmured Jane Jao as she gently held the baby¡± what shall we name him ¡°Edwy is a strong name, shall we use that?¡± Chen Jao said softly with a caring look in his eyes. He liked to see cocoon of Qi surrounding a figure as it swirled menacingly. A close one (unfortunately the first of many) Edwy¡¯s parents waited outside of Edwy¡¯s door with several servants hoping for Edwy to gain an extremely powerful martial spirit. The anticipation was palpable as sweat started to roll down their faces in nervousness. Meanwhile in Edwy''s room Edwy`lay sleeping with a cocoon of light slowly condensing around him. Edwy looks around himself in the darkness when a faint light is shown growing tell it flashed so bright that Edwy had to look away. Suddenly when Edwy opened his eyes he found himself staring at his soul space which was circular in nature but, was split right down the middle one with a metal like landscape with a glowing steel core in it. In the other was a landscape that looked as if the life was sucked out of it with a dark almost demonic glow coming off of it. Suddenly a large BOOM sounded and two figures appeared before him one on each side of the landscape. Turning to the metal side first the beast was a yazi (a leopard with the scales of a dragon). Oops¡­. Unfortunately while it can be damaged it cannot attack anything so, if you have an aggressive martial spirit then you will die. The only exception is when you have multiple martial spirits and you stop it with the others. This is why many die turning eight in this world. Edwy looked at his right side for help from that martial spirit but, his luck of course was never that good as it was a demonic lord( a transforming demon that usually looks like a human with ash like skin and fangs. Fun fact about these guys only in ancient history has one of these guys been a martial spirit because of their rare chance of appearing and their bad habit of tearing apart their owner by their limbs and killing them) without delay the demonic lord severed his right arm. Through the excruciating pain Edwy opened his eyes to see a miracle. A new land appeared in his soulscape. A land full of flames that burned with an unholy fury which for some reason seemed familiar. A figure flew from that core seemingly made out of black flames. The figure smashed down pushing away the other two while Edwy was on the ground bleeding out. Suddenly a force swept through Edwy''s soulscape healing Edwy while placing seals on the martial spirits body¡¯s. Edwy stood up and looked at his third martial spirit while the first two grumbled about losing their chance at killing Edwy. The third spirit was an unholy Phoenix (a variant of dark Phoenix because of it being a variant like all other variants it is infinitely more powerful) it was just like the little bird that Edwy saved before he died in his past life. With the fear of death gone Edwy was filled with elation and smiled biggest smile he could because he gained not one, not two, but, three martial spirits.
